"Annexed t. see tv and takeover in the whole thing was designed to be a platform. Were superstars could get used to uh performing up to debbie standards. They could make it so that when you got to the main roster didn't feel foreign when yet ron smackdown you go oh yeah. This is like like the upscale version of what was happening. In annex t the signings of in my opinion fin ballard kevin owens and samoa joe changed everything for sixty especially samoa joe ca- similar joe was the first signing where we're not even repackaging him and we. We don't have any plans to bring him to the main roster. We're just gonna have him because we're going to start making an x. T. at touring brand and he wasn't even supposed to be a touring brand. There's supposed to run live shows in florida which they still do but now they tour across the country and the and across the world have global events so so you've gotta give full credit to what is done here regardless of that. That's the number one thing but think about it at least for a period of time in a vacuum and give an x._t. Credit that it deserves to be in the position that to somebody in the discord room for the not sam shells was asking about storylines okay when annex t september eighteenth comes to the u._s._a. Network do we scrap all the storylines because we're introducing an x t to a wide audience. Yes i don't think so. I think that there will be a lot of elements put in place to familiarize an audience that has never seen annex t before with what it is is because you have to be realistic about that if you're gonna put an x. t. on the u._s._a. Network you're going to be showing it to a lot of people that have never seen the product before. That's just the fax ax. You hope that that's going to happen if you're not exposing the product to a lot of people have never seen it before. Your numbers are going to be limited so i think that they are going to have to spend a lot of time. Explaining who people are through commentary through video packages by the way moral beth phoenix nigel mcguinness three three of not only three great commentators but just three great human beings like like three people that i can sit there and actually be happy for did there in the booth like all three of them love wrestling all three three of them are passionate about broadcasting wrestling at this point in their careers and all three of them do an excellent job and are going to do an excellent job every week live. I think it's awesome so no. I don't think that story lines are going to be scrapped but i do think that they're going to spend spend a lot of time in commentary and through video packages explaining who people are some people think that this will cannibalize w._w._e. W._w._e. fans that this will actually take ratings away from ron smackdown which i think is also ludicrous. If you're putting on three good shows a week wrestling fans are going to watch three good shows period end of discussion..

You got back the seventeenth overall pick. No peddlers. I mean, he's a. Nobody serious is peppers. They they're trying to act like peppers the legitimate fill in for Landon Collins. So I on ously step down. I'm a big pepper. So I was big Michigan fan. I'm one of those Ohio guys likes Michigan. It's one of the guy you're bad. I'm bad at. So when they drafted him. I was like all awesome because he was like a hybrid safety linebacker, right? His first year at the Browns right Williams hadn't planned like thirty yards back away. Audience. This guy goes deep on football. So the first show you can't judge them from his stats last year. You can judge he made one play in my is a game changer that was against the Denver Broncos where you had the sack that basically won the game sealed the deal besides that. He's he's not. Let's it. They try to get in return kicks. Couldn't do that try to get them return punts. He couldn't demand fatty fumble the football game on a punt. So hopefully, he does well for you guys. I don't wish him any a will. And you're happy to have doubt very happy to have owed. Now Vic, what's what are your jobs this weekend? A lot of x t k and x t u k which airs on the w network Wednesdays, eight o'clock WWE, oh, by the way, very much. It's a different feeling show. It doesn't it kind of feel like you're calling an indie show. It's different though. Right. Because you think raw smackdown then you think to five live is your lettuces them and exte- underground niche, and the Annex K which is different style because it's British wrestler. Ling feels more technical if it's way more than you have a guy like Nigel McGuinness sitting with where you're like. That's why. Swines ESO. It's it's pretty cool. It's definitely different. I tell I was just joking. I absolutely love Nigel what sort of wisdom does he give you a week to week basis? I don't mean wrestling thing about life. I actually introduced him to a lot of terms. No, you don't you shouldn't do that. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, by the way. It's great. I tried to interview Vick and other telling me to cut you off because Daniel Bryan shown. Okay. Well, you know what he's WB champion Ryan. And we just edit this all together later. All right. All right. Let's vic. Joseph Joseph plays, gentlemen. All right lane. And I turn to the DVD's are start going through the ring of honor DVD's, I have. And I have a bunch of shows that we went to sure. So what years that ten that would have been the very end the two thousand ten that's insane to me that is going to bring of honor in New York solo for three years. Yeah. Well, I was I was. I was so resistant. I felt like Michael Corleone godfather three where I'm like. I can't get sucked in. Yeah. Like, I can watch raw every week. I'll watch the paper views. But there was something something in me was like, I know once I crack the seal on Indy wrestling. It's this whole thing is going to. I was just I don't know. "The king Lawler, son, a new two year deal. So he's going to be there. Beth Phoenix the wife of age. Hedge Pederson say, hey, DJ. Shawn Michaels, David Otaga, all these the different pairings different groupings. So the pre-game show is going to be huge. I guess I should have checked my mailbox, surely, I got invite right? But in any event, I'll be watching every moment of it. The great thing about watching wrestling home is I can take a pee break when I need one. And I know where the pause button is on the television. Not on my Natta me at my age, there ain't no pause button. When a guy gotta go. You gotta go. I talked about inex- takeover. There's a really outstanding book matches, you know, ciampa outsor- black curious how shayna baser and Bianca Blair does. Curious could be really really good. If it's not overbooked don't over think it ricochet defending the North American title, Johnny Gargano. There's no reason that the chop of black ricochet Gargano match should not be phenomenal the undefeated era defending against the war raiders the tag titles. I don't know as much about the war raiders as I should. I know the feet air our money. So, but these guys always rise the occasion, they get the first out of I bet so they got that audience, and they got the TV audience. They can influence people's thoughts. You know, they're they're good spot and Morrow or Nello play by play guy on that show. Listen tomorrow, a good guy. And he's a he's a very talented broadcast that question, so, but I wonder like I said earlier horse the bus the show. Where's he where's the social media? Does for inex- t. That should be there because this is really I'll guarantee next week. We talked when I talk about the show next week. Yeah. I to say that three of the matches initially take absolutely outstanding. Can I might be under shooting a little bit? But I can guarantee at three three the matches booked that I'm aware of we'll be slobber knocker level matches big time big time. I saw or v got a new agreement with the the number one cap company in the world new era. Good gift for them. Great blessing and marketing opportunity, and the great thing is that they have great artists. They have great. The there's cats. Look amazing. I've had some oh you Oakland university cats new era over the years here their new on. But their stuff is great new era makes great stuff. So congratulations on that. Get I bet there wrestlemainia calf will be a hot seller. Big time. Saw where aid English is going to be added to the two five live broadcast team. We congratulate him he's going to be working with Joseph and Nigel McGuinness three wrestlemainia told per WW dot com. So we were so those that trio chats, good luck. And hope they'll find they're calling. Right. Why not so but my Saint question, but the show always have. Who's going to watch it? I can't remember. And they need a they need a pulse to five mini. They frenetic. Boy, don't rodale. To five live needs to have a pulse on smackdown or raw. Just give me something. This. Let me just give me a sample of what a missing and do it regularly. That's my thought on that deal until you do it's going to be another show, and that's unfortunate because it got really really talented dudes. I didn't watch extensively the USC Brooklyn one forty three. Kind of same reason that I was talking earlier about inex- t not having a buzz. I didn't think that show had a bus to it and other debut on ESPN all that good stuff. The greatest thing about that show. They didn't they were. They were lucky. They didn't show too many empty seats. Because there are a lot of them there. Embark center with the good news was that pays van Zandt returned from injury to.

"He wore a helmet in the field. He did. And there's a reason, and it's like an aneurysm or something. So it was a good reason. But I just wanted to say you with your big head would look silly up to bat, and you're gonna whip on this because I'm gonna talk to you about another three person unit that I've been watching recently because I've been catching up on annex t u k and I'm talking about the coffee brothers and Wolfgang. You didn't see a common? I know you didn't swift. You didn't I just heard C can wind in the catcher's? Mitt Ernie wits back there, brother. What was it? Buckling. Tina's might have been might have been. Yeah. So I started catching up on annex t u k and it was after I did that inside the ropes tour over there. And I just realized how much talent there was over there, and in meeting people and talking to people and everything and I started to get caught up on the flights and everything like that on the show. And I really I like it. You know, I it's it's rough around the edges at certain points. And you can tell there's some some folks on there that are green and things like that. But they're learning and they're getting this kind of the fun of it too. Right. Yeah. It's fun to watch man because it feels like I'm getting in on the ground floor of this thing with these these people in watching them get talented and get TV ready, even if they're not TV ready. But so what none of us were at the beginning. And they're getting this this stage for the first time, and that's really really fun to watch. And. I can also says they can also says a lot to the British wrestling scene as a whole how far it's come especially in the last few years, but probably last Glenn back five ten years at this point. But anything guys like Doug Williams, and and guys like that that have really started to lay the groundwork as far as the last in recent years to where it's at now, even guys like Nigel McGuinness and stuff like that. So, you know, kudos to them for for just pushing and pushing and pushing until like look at where it's flourishing who now it's getting like worldwide audience. Well, yeah. Without guys like regal and Dave Taylor and fair and Robbie Brookside and further back Johnny Saint mardi Jones and dynamite. Who we just recently lost and Davey? And so the history is there, and it's it's nice to see this scene. Finally, have a kind of a worldwide stylish up. Yeah. And and it reminds me I've kept wanting to talk about this guy over and over and over and it's peak dumb. All always remember after five I'm like, damn it. I wanted to talk about done, and I just got away. Again, if he's I don't wanna say he's flown under the radar because he truly hasn't. He's just he he has a very cool style. I like the way he goes about things. He's not the biggest guy, but it doesn't matter because he's figured out a way for his style to work, and I truly believe that he can work against almost any opponent, and it can work. Is like almost. Take it not like almost peeling the cruiserweight label off rename himself, the bruiser wait, you You know. know because that makes it not. Yeah. Exactly. Really cool stuff. I I enjoy stuff he can work, you know, a multitude of styles as evidenced by matches against ricochet and and against Tyler bait, and he can just get in and go with anybody in a Nova. We've talked about bait before I think guys said it was a t-shirt shirt Tyler betas fucking great. You got to come up with one for done besides the ones here he has..

"Better seventy year learning experience, then the one that I got I got to learn from the best the ins and outs of professional wrestling, which ultimately prepared me for my second run here in ring of honor where I would be the front runner. The the the world champion the face of a company, and I've got all the tools now that I need it's almost like it prepared me. And gave me all the tools. I would need for this point in time. So it's cool. When I think back like man, what a like almost everything happens for a reason. Yeah, this was supposed. To happen. I was supposed to get all that experience in. So I had to be ready for this point. And now speaking of this point here. Yeah. Because I do feel like we're going into a new not a new era, but a new phase in ring of honor. There's a lot of rumors about who's sticking around who's leaving. I'm not afraid to talk about that. It's no secret anymore. Then they don't make a secret about it. But what a time to be the world champion going into two thousand nineteen in this moment where it feels like ring of or not only he's not going to have to reinvent themselves. But something we're going to have to do something special here because this might be like a new phase. And when I talk about ring of honor pretty much all the last year. I'm like, look, you know ring of honor is on fire right now. But at the same time they have to look at what happened when WCW is on fire in the N W is there. I'm like, you know, in my mind, you can't make this the bullet club show you have to make it a promotion right now. Here's the elite is they're not it's not they're showing that's your kind of role. Right. Right. Right. Here's another thing. I don't think ring of honor purposely made some of the shows into the bullet club show. You know what I mean? Although it did kind of seem like that on the surface for some of the shows. But I just think that those guys had so much star power. And they were so quote unquote over that no matter where you put them on the show they were going to. I hate the word used the word usurp, but they were going to become the focal point of the show anyway because of how over they were right? So by default, no matter where you put them on the show it can happen. Right. Right. Right. So easily. There's so many of them and they're not all on just one matches. They're all spread out throughout the show. So. So that was a tough thing to overcome for ring of honor. So thinking about this new phase at ring of honor's going into I think some people could potentially be worried. But I'm not too word. And here's why I think the ring of honor is always done a great job in surviving, picking up and surviving. Can you imagine having a wrestling company with guys like Samoa, Joe Simponi AJ styles? Bryan Danielson Nigel McGuinness you putting on fantastic shows. Now think about put a year in between. But think about how one year after another people leaving how do you pick up and carry on after you've lost an AJ styles? How do you pick up and carry on after you lost in the same month Nigel and Bryan Danielson, right? How do you pick up and move on? After losing a Samoa. Joe a Roderick, strong, heart and soul of ring of honor losing an atom coal and Austin Aries ring of honor has always been able to do it. And I think the winning formula is you don't look for replacements because these guys are irreplaceable. You don't go out and say who can I get to replace them? You just continue to put on the best wrestling you possibly can. While looking for other great talent out there to put on add onto your list, not filling that gap that is now missing..

"More renaldo nigel mcguinness and percy ross a really good particularly the first two but for the with the history of mara now i don't think that's going to happen in odds were guinness doesn't strike me as as what visit man wanted us collar man but an accord gray's already kind of plays that role but percy ross said one of the dumbest things i think it on last week's and it's to show i'll give it i love her watson percy watson in the first year us it okay percy watch but percy watson joy gargano was back on any johnny guk johnny go ghana was back yet and asked after shop i had killed in algiers partner had betrayed him in this huge matching this huge deal and entered into put him out and an arm percy watson win against what pro wrestling is all about he said the best thing for gargano to do what he wasn't a he'll you know saying he should be a coward he said the best flavor gargano to do was to arm and they made the poor the gorgon of had said nothing about you up a fabric in the back in the back is to get this behind you in just move on and on like the whole thing is wrestling is based on one of these roughly is based on besides championship matches is revenge the someone's screws you over in a competition and injured zhou and not even in a fair way that he might call you up for fight in a beach you up in energy but but betrays you an injury zhu and you're supposed to put it behind like what the hell was that aren't unfinished there is such a.

"Why newspapers you talk about the the guys that people connect with because they're different which is the siham puncan danuberhine group and then the cavagnaud ins i think also i thin ballard sneak into that group aj styles samoa joe group there's is a group i think in the middle of those to which have just as much indy credibility they've different looks when they get to wwe they have different names but why is it that the samoan not this modrow's the and bros is the south rollins that generation of indy guys don't have the same sort of connection and feel a not that they don't have a connection but it's a different connection and accept rollins dean ambrose those guys feel more like traditional wwe superstar like i don't think the when you look at roman reigns dini ambrose and set rollins you see two guys that wrestled around the world in one guy that's a product of the system you see three products of the system whereas you know a single generation removed which is i'm at a year may be removed you've got guys that are not products of the system that are entering or even such rollins when he got it oh pushed in our which there wasn't it immediate embrace of him like other world class indy works and dean wasn't a guy who i mean people her to john moxley but none of the same way of asia styles are daniel bryan ziam punk he wasn't in the same category as low key or or uh nigel mcguinness or even claudio like i mean i just think there was a different the different five about him i think is set and dean probably alternately were indy guys who were more wwe destined and.

"Percy which is there but he tried less than he tried he tries to harb but morrow at night show they god yes yes else it got good again the move to going from palmfilled merv rilya tom phillips had a great foil inquiry grace yes and phillips in graz worked very very well together they play off each other and win phillips loss graves you still good but it he lost that dynamic and he never got it back with nigel mcguinness and he never got it with on percy watson so here's the front with morrow enormously if you notice the voice use the look commer he he was not screaming he was very very very calm he got his point across he didn't have the struggle to give it words if he was able to deliver his doors when maroz able to be solved inquired it and everything like that it's the better version tomorrow so he could do all host the all his new pop culture references and everything like that ways com he's like he's not having someone screaming this year he's able to direct his own broadcast yeah i mean there's a huge difference between this moreover system are that was austrac down i like this mara much better and you could kinda towel that mara was much more comfortable in the annexed east shutting because it's not like television it's being taped you know so it's like if they screw up they can go back and do it like rock said he didn't have anybody screaming and his ear you know this is wrong best are wrong it i think moral has a lot more freedom to do what he wants and says what he wants and he's able to really craft that story like he wants to it's not being told what to do when do a yacht i'm sure there's some of that but i think hunters probably given him a lot more license to do what he needs to do with a mix to maroz my favor morrow now go yeah i i'm i'm i made a mystery months back down at the same time i love nigel mechanism are run altogether.

"But i believe that it was daniel bryan and nigel mcguinness oneonone at the hammerstein ballroom and i mean they put on a clinic it was an amazing amazing match and at the end of it my wife looks amine she goes while that was a really good match and it was the first time that i'd ever heard hearse complement a match actually be impressed by match quality this is a non fan that's complementing a match for a match is not looking for a promotion outlook looking for a story she's just watching the match understood the story that was being told through actions in the ring which is important understood that the way the story was being told accepted it and enjoyed it and really was like enjoyed it more than most the stuff on the on the card and enjoyed of more than some of the stuff that she's enjoyed in the past in terms of the show business aspect of it and at that point i really sunk in that even for the casual wrestling fan the non internet wrestling community member the person who just kinda turns and on and thinks it's a wacky show and has fun with it not the person is going to download this podcast his personal downloads same robbers russ implied guess is a fan like i'm a fan who is watching watching watching watching consuming consuming consuming but these these people who are more casual fans will if a match is great.
