The Charlie Kirk Show
Jason Whitlock and Charlie Unpack Kendrick Perkins' MVP Comments
"Get your reaction to this back and forth. JJ Redick, who I always enjoyed watching JJ Redick at duke, great player, called out Kendrick Perkins for suggesting that Nikola Jokić, Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki only won the MVP because they were white. And now mind you, I've stopped watching the NBA a couple years ago. I might watch the playoffs here or there. I didn't even know who Nikola Jokić was until somebody told me about him. That's how disconnected I am. But Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. Now those were my guys growing up. And so I find this whole narrative to be repulsive. But good for JJ Redick. I'm sure he's going to get a call from Disney for speaking truth. Play cut 59. It is an honor to be on this desk every day. It really is. But what we've just witnessed is the problem with this show. Where we create narratives that do not exist in reality. The implication what you are implying that the white voters that vote on NBA are racist, they favor white people. You just said that. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. That is exactly what you implied physical purpose. That is exactly what you applied. Secondly, hold on. Hold on. I did not call. I stated the facts. I stated the facts and you not about to sit up. We all know what you implied the other day. We all know what to imply. Hold on. I started a time. It's the fun. It's the first. It's the facts. Jason, is it the facts? What's going on here? So I know Kendrick Perkins, he used to appear on the show. I did for Fox Sports. Look, Kendrick is like a lot of athletes. They spend a lot of time developing their physical gifts and don't spend a lot of time working on critical thinking. And so much of their thinking comes from Twitter. And Twitter has convinced many of these athletes and many of the broadcasters on TV that racism explains everything, anything that they don't like racism is the answer.

The Officer Tatum Show
Charles Barkley Slams Kendrick Perkins for 'Racists' Comments
"Let me read this head and I'm real quick. It says Hall of Fame basketball player Charles Barkley ripped into Kendrick Perkins, suggesting that race plays a role in the NBA MVP, voting when it comes to the Denver Nuggets, the center, Nikola jokic. Jokic, jokic. You know I'm from America, jokic. And the funny thing is the criticism that racist Kendrick Perkins had made mention of was he was criticizing yo kitsch. He was criticizing Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. And the funny thing is is that none of them are white Americans. them. And it's funny because white Americans sit on the board of the voting for MVP and I don't have they ever voted for a white American to be of MVP of a basketball of the NBA. I mean, I'll say from starting from 1990 because he went since 1990 to the present day, there has never been a white American that have been, I voted MVP in the NBA. None. racist Kendrick Perkins is a complete maniac and idiot in my personal opinion. And it makes black people folks look bad. I mean, we look dumb. Sitting on TV, making all that money, and we trying to claim that white people are racist, yet the white people we claim are racist, vote for black people more than white people. And they vote for white people who are not American more than white Americans. So if anything, they're excluding white Americans from the MVP voting. But I'm going to play with Charles Barkley said and if anybody out there that's listening, if you can get me in contact with Charles Barkley, I would love to sit down and smoke a cigar and interview charged Barclay because I just really appreciate his perspective even though I don't agree with everything. I appreciate people that keep it real. And Charles Barkley, I know he live here in Arizona. I saw him at the airport one year, but I wasn't able to follow up with him. However, if you know him, I want to interview him and talk to him about this whole thing. But I'm going to play the clip from Charles Barkley. I don't remember which number it is, but let's roll clip two. I think I got it. Clip two. If only 5 white guys have won MVP in the last 30 years, that makes zero sense if argument. Zero sense. Because if that was the case, we'd have a lot more white MVPs. Those and it's a little short clip of what Charles Barkley said. I know he probably said a lot. I mean, in the article that I have here, and I'm not going to say these words on a radio, but he said, he's pretty sure that the other gentleman jokic, is that how you say his name? That jokic don't give a, you know what about these idiots on television?

And people that seen him when he was young when he was before hey the Box Corvettes of vodka that he has said that he can ingesting a life and and be the the injuries. You know that the young sabonis it was and it was the way they all described them Bill Walton with a 3-pointer. Well, guess what is dead? Nikola jokic. Yeah, Bill Walton with a 3-pointer, he's here folks. We have Bill Walton with a 3-pointer, this said, the closest thing to Walton is a pastor that we have seen offer Center position. And oh, by the way, he could face up ahead of three, he was the player. See, I have a problem with valuable so what sport that gets into semantics valuable wage? If you took about away from that team, where would they be? Well, you could say that about a lot a lot of T's and the point is some teams survive better because of the Best Supporting Cast, you're not, you're not the GM. You know, you're the player if they got a team that can make up for your loss better than you know I'm saying something stupid argument. Yeah. Because here right. Right. And again other guys are I don't want to AJ Held back but but they kind of are like a couple of years ago when you had Kyrie and Gordon Hayward Hayward got hurt. That allowed Jayson Tatum and Jaylen brown two floors. They had no choice when those two got hurt, if they hadn't gotten hurt, who knows how much longer it would have taken for Tatum or Jaylen, Brown Stood Beside, You know. So anyway, I I, I approve it off, you know, ambient, if you played all the games or play 75% or 80% maybe and I know that would be a little sentiment for set, a stuff on there. Should have been some scientists. Probably right at 3rd, right? And, but it looks like the real playoffs so, you know, like what are your, we had, you know, and how they played and it was so, but I'm okay with your kids. I was interested. Doc Rivers pointed out something very interesting about the motivation thing with embiid that back when doc was a member of the Spurs in 1994 or is it four or five that matter which one? And yep. Robeson was the MVP and they had to go up against a larger one and force around and Olajuwon was pissed, really cuz he didn't get it. And and so he said oh my God you know so he he got the stairs what could be motivating and beat right now? Well, but the flip side and beats his guy, it works with embiid. You know, I just don't think Joe has got enough and I didn't think I'd say this against Phoenix but you know, he does. He needs Jamal Murray and what. Phoenix now is, Phoenix has it, right? They've got a point guard down in Chris Paul. "Like if I had an MVP ballot, I think he'd be, I think like around that four or five range like you know, Talk about philosophy and games played and stuff. But he's right there. And so Jonas has this reminds me of David Robinson. Doing greatest Peaks, where he had the momentum, he had the excitement. He didn't have a great team and yet at some point, once he hit a certain level scoring champ MVP, then the Olajuwon series happened and it's like poof David Robinson isn't that good anymore. Which, which I think is was kind of a crazy conclusion. Well, and in the case of Kauai to through his first 31 games, this year, he averaged twenty seven point five or six rebounds, five, assists in shot, 51-48 from the field. Like those first 31 games, he was probably one of the three best players in the league, like oh, certainly, like LeBron was there. Jokic was there. This was before Curry, like really caught fire this season. So I was right there with you early in the season. The problem is that the Clippers wage The pedal off the gas, right? Like in, that's normal like he didn't play. I want to say like he didn't play almost half of their last like, thirty thirty-five games wage and over that time the average like 20 to 7 and 5 and was similar in terms of shooting percentages, but it just didn't quite feel as impactful because in general, the boss took their foot off the gas, you know? Well we're here. There's one named. You didn't mention at the top, I'm curious about your take on him. Sometimes I say you mentioned sometimes not and then we can make our way back to yoga, Chicago speaks, but where are you on, Luca, and you mentioned Dame, Lillard, I think at fourth or fifth, on your ballot. But it seems to me that at least, at least instinctively or off at numbers. Luca, would be the guy there, instead of Dame for that. Kind of like, oh, if we're looking at this level of team and this level of player, where are you on? Luca? Yeah. You know I think them Happened with Luka. So if you go back through your top 10 video, there's a moment where you kind of sneaky, oh, kitchen real quickly. The bottom right corner of a video, you and I did notice that. So well. Where do you think that this season is and you use three season Peaks? If I remember correctly. Just multiple you say you have at least two. Yeah. So at least two. So usually two or three months so you'll catch needs one more of these I think because and maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong on that. I don't know that his 2019-20 season is quite at the level of the other guys that peaked in a way that resulted in top ten Peaks since nineteen seventy-seven. This is so been, I'll just kind of give you the floor. I mean, what is can you contextualize from New Jersey? Historical perspective, what we're seeing from Nikola jokic and where that is in terms of just pure value, yeah, I'll try hard obviously. Like, well, I, you know, well, the the bigger, you know, the challenge, besides the obvious of the, the leg work and, and the detail and all the things that we know and don't know about evaluating basketball, the bigger challenge right now, is wage when something comes along. It's hard to get the proper perspective because we've only seen, you know, as of right now, zero playoff series with him at this level and, you know, from doing Peaks, even the guys who go to 3 straight finals for 3 years, you got 12 playoff series and what happens. And sometimes we forget about this, it's kind of like a historical Oddity, but what happens is you play the same teams a lot because in the same window, right? Like the Lakers in the Clippers right now are good for a couple of years. But before that, it was like the Heat played the Pacers in the Eastern Conference and log. In between that the Cavs were so you kind of have this tendency to play the same good teams over and over again. So even with two or three years, sometimes, you don't have a really nice diverse sample to evaluate guys and that's what you want. So time is it a fluke? All those things make it really hard. And I always end up sort of tweaking as I go along and get a second year or third year. Like this is kind of Jonas, his third year at this level ish, right? He won MVP two years ago, and last year. So I'm, I'm going to be really interested to see what happens in the postseason this year. Especially, since last year, his sample was relatively small, he had the ankle injury. It was in the bubble. It was quirky. So, that's the thing that makes it the hardest like really, truly, a narrow down the perspective on. I will say here, and with, and with the honesty real quick, as an aside, we're going to get an interesting control here because they're playing Miami again who they played last season when he had Ed I mean, arguably the low point I would say if these of this three season peak..

"Quite as good as jokic is this in the case or at least might not get it back in a high-leverage situation because maybe his teammates aren't as good post entry passes or maybe, you know, he's he's at the top of the key and he's not as valuable there. Someone like, exactly, he's not as dangerous in as many spots on the floor. And I think one of the things that's unique to jokic. And I talked about this on an episode of my podcast thinking basketball podcast, I think the episode with Chris Herring, where we were discussing yokich and time of possession, and number of touches and these kinds of stats and it's extremely unique, and it has to do with this Dynamic that we're discussing here, where he has the ball, he makes a decision relatively quickly. But off, We'll go chase the ball or get it back or it'll be swung back to him and because he's basically dangerous or kind of activated and ready to be a threat found everywhere on the court in the half-court that allows him to. I can't really think of a player who's ever played like this. Give it up and come right back and reset value. Basically wage is like touching it and gives it up and if that Fizzles out, he goes right back into a screen or a handoff or two-man game. And when the ball touches his hands, now you get great decision-making or you're right back in that Dynamic I discussed earlier with the defense has to lean toward you because you're scoring becomes a problem. You know, he kills mismatches and switches. He'll instantly go to the Post so you can't switch against him but you're still playing in straight up as a big primary Defender and you lag or you chase one of the handoff guys, then you leave them open to shoot or drive and this year with better conditioning with a little length. Wait on him. His body control is amazing. His touch is amazing. And so it's like all the time everywhere, he's a problem, that's kind of the way to describe him. Yeah, and Mom do want to talk about how to defend him in a minute here, but before we get there I think that one problem is that you can't double him because he's arguably the best passing back. Whenever I honestly don't know that it's arguable anymore. Maybe the only reason I say arguable is because our Vita sabonis exists and we didn't really get his peak in the NBA necessarily so we don't do that. I feel like yeah I think you have to the only way to make the argument is to really curve for era and say and say they had less spacing back then and there were no way, the rules would allow 7-footer to dribble the way a 7-footer does today. And therefore, of course we can, only expect sabonis has entry passes, behind-the-back, passes Outlet, passes wage. Although sabonis had a better handle at that point but Walton of course is the other classic candidate people bring up and Waltons hypo stuff and those little interior passes and the speed and accuracy, those was incredible. And his Outlet passes were great, but jokic the breadth of his passing skill at this point. And the way the game is played today with space cutting movement, it's specific, pick-and-roll reads, like like we're just talking about one of the best passers of all time.. And a guy who at this point is going to be in the running for best passer and playmaker in the league every year, regardless of who was in the league and then on top of that I don't I don't think people have recognized, how good Nikola jokic is as a scorer yet? Yes, you're yeah. Nikola jokic off averaged more points per minute..

"Of those teams is eliminate adam. Silver would never. Yeah die. I there is something to be said for that. Ah i'm a little bit scared. But if denver was against dallas and you have nicole yokich versus luka doncic. Both unstoppable offense players. I still think the denver matches better with luca than dallas matches up with nicola. And that's because you have aaron gordon you have. Pj dosier you have michael porter and you have will barton and you can be a little bit more switchable with those guys on the wing then you would have been in the past when denver last played them. They didn't have aaron gordon in their previous match against dallas. Michael porter sat out at least one of those games Douses a good team and lucas. An unstoppable offense player. But i just don't trust the people around him and i think the denver could win that series. And then you get to the point okay. Who's at the top now. Utah phoenix if one of those teams as the theme that denver faces in the second round. Do you really think that it's impossible. Denver couldn't win one of those series. Because i don't i think they could absolutely one of those series because they have the best player and so often that is the that is what matters in a playoff series. And i don't know where this is ultimately going to end up but i tend to think and i tend to trust nicole yokich and i tend to trust joe-marie and i tend to trust michael porter jr. Unfortunately jamal there but trusting. Those guys has has really led me wrong yet. And and i tend to think that those guys just the way that they are wired the way they have fit together and played. Well anything is really possible. So i'm not going to count them out just yet. Yeah i I fully concur with that. I think Just like you mentioned. I i really honed in on on the nuggets. Post jamal Just to get a read of where the team was at and where they were headed in It just hasn't felt like i mean i've seen teams have injuries. And they go on a mini run but it feels more like there are. They're trying to overcompensate and Keep going what they had and the team is just like. We talked about the defense at the beginning. They somehow on the flour it will the change up their identity in a way and it doesn't feel fake to me so i you know i'm not going to place bets or anything actually i. I told france tonight that they should bet on the atlanta indiana game and i think some of them lost money because of this swyto bed but point being i i agree..

"Reads with the ball in his hands and when he when he has the ball a lot of times people come around from the back of him and pick and pick his pocket because he just doesn't really have the vision. And a lotta times. He will You'll have to pick up the ball because he doesn't like is dribbling to know where and when he gets to the place where he is. He doesn't really have a plan and so he's going to have to find a way to be decisive and understanding of exactly where he needs to go while also finishing those plays in the right way and making the right decisions. So that's probably the biggest thing i have for him. I don't have any concerns with them. Defensively he is what he at this point. He is an athletic wing forward type. Who is going to switch. Who is going to provide some rim protection. Who's gonna miss a few rotations here. There but is largely going to give good effort and usa size to his advantage. I'm surprised that i'm even saying that. The defense isn't really my biggest question with them. But it's not. I wanna see how he handles being the two man. Game in the yolk mpg. Two man game. Yeah i agree. And i think I mean that hasn't been talked about enough. The the the piece taken from where he was at as a defender in the jazz series looking just completely completely lost to where he's at now is remarkable I've been really impressed with that. For sure I think i think if you replayed that jazz series right now that denver would win in six and as long as they like if they have their their pieces healthy if everybody has their pieces healthy they have. Gary harris will barton they can play actual reasonable lineups and then the jazz have bought boy donovan. That doesn't scare me as much as like like michael porter in this particular position where he's now playing good defense and now just kind of understands who he is. The nba level and and people have not given him enough credit for making strides both physically and mentally like he. He's just a different human than he was in those playoffs. Most definitely Well i guess to to wrap up and it's not gonna be quick most likely but With the play offs. I mean we hit on a little bit earlier but How are you feeling about how things are shaking out down. The stretch was seating. Because right now. I i mean i don't know how it's gonna look in the morning but currently the nuggets are on track to finish with three seed unless the clippers surpass them. I know they're tied right now but It's it's possible..

"He has learned how to leverage his abilities in a way that i did not know that he would. So he's a guy who he's six ten and you start with that and you think okay. This guy is at lettuce he is. The athleticism is clearly come back to him a little bit after the back surgeries. He looks a lot more athletic and a lot more in tune with his body. Then i think we really appreciate it at the outset and that has really helped him for sure. You got to the shooting ability. He's like okay. It's nice that he can hit some some step back. Threes and things like that but the way it manifests everywhere on the floor. It isn't just in one spot. He doesn't have his spot. He really shoots green from everywhere and his. Just blown me away there. A couple does polling the numbers on him from cleaning the glass. He is one of the few guys in the entire nba. That is efficient from every spot. Whether it's in the restricted area in the paint non restricted area in the mid range. And the those kind of the baseline areas the corners the above the break. The only guy that he actually really compares to his kevin durant which is very funny that you mention that name and he has been compared to him very favorably. In a lot of cases he's been compared to carmelo anthony. I love going back to this one on the night of the twenty eighteen draft. I was there on that call. When he compared himself to a hybrid of kevin durant jaanus onto the compo- that is something that he said to the to the local media. And it's not that far off which is kinda crazy that he's sort of living up to what he's doing and he has still so far to go. He knows that he has still so far to go. From a ball handling perspective from a defense perspective from a kind of a timing and understanding his role in his ability to impact games at certain moments i would love to see him continue to work with the ball in his hands. Operate as a pick and roll guy operate as a d. h. o. guy one of denver's. Most unstoppable place at this point is when he comes around a he he curls around a yokich d..

"But he's just he's also very sized diminutive replacing them with really good defenders on the perimeter has really shown that you could defend around a coach. It can happen. It's it's not something. That's the main criticism around yokich. You can defend around him. It's it's definitely something that you can do. We'll see if it holds up in the playoffs and we'll see what when when they need more offensive players whether they can do some of those similar things. But we're i think that they can win the title at some point in his tenure. That's that's something that i really do feel and i've just said that murray got injured when he did it was. It was really tough for everybody. It was just very emotional. Yeah no definitely man. I remember i mean seeing getting game. The news that it happened was like i mean. I was in the middle of recording. Post game pod Yeah i i like. I like obidos. Damn you know this has happened. man like it's it sucked to see But you know all you can do is hope for for next year and see what you can have happened this year and i think that leads me. My next point to like In looking at the seymour new. I wanna talk about mpg at the end but right now with wilderness. You hit on Sure he hasn't had an awesome year. It's not like it's been bad But i think looking at how how well. He played last year during the regular season before getting to the bubble. I think he's been a been worse defensively this year. He just hasn't been the same athletically. It feels like And obviously he's out right now. It feels like like. I think a lot of denver can do in. The playoffs is going to hinge on. It doesn't hinge on him but he's gonna gonna be significant part of whether or not they can get to. You know the second round of getting to western conference finals again. I mean how do you feel about barton coming back or your confidence in him to do that..

"It's because michael porter has gone from unplayable defensively to an actual asset. That was all year to mike. For for michael porter. And that's that's one of the most impressive parts of his leap is that he has now sort of figured it out and ham being able to stay on the floor for thirty six minutes a night while the nuggets are kinda struggling to find offense around him other than yokich that has been a really big deal and so you mentioned Millsap and green. That's been one of their best combos defensively when they put porter on that bench unit without yokich. Actually both. it's good on offense and defense and they've they've just found ways to kind of scrap and claw and they how they are a complete defensive team at this point and it's just kind of crazy to think about that. This is a team that in their the twenty sixteen seventeen season going back about four years ago other was a busy yokich yokich leading the defense. It was about twenty nights and ed wet. He went into the starting lineup. It was dead last and they have just come so far. It wasn't always yokich like he was. He was always kind of underrated but he has made so many strides and the game that he had against the knicks. It was as much of a defensive masterpiece. It was an offense a masterpiece because he contested every shot at the rim deflected all the passes and limited the knicks to twelve points and a quarter. It was awesome. Yeah it was. I remember i was a. I want to see the patients playing that night so i was waiting to go wash that game. That was all that was that night That was shit out yesterday. God while it feels like it was six days ago but Yeah i mean. I check my phone. Of course because it's the middle of the game in shutting the In indiana and i'm like well. Let's see how the knicks doing so. I wanna go see that game. I had it circle. That was like. I really watch the next nuggets. Blake's big game for both teams. I saw the scores. I'm like oh my god okay. All right and that's that's what really made me think about this. Like just in defense in general like i mean the defense will used to just be gary harris and a prayer in sixty nine seventeen and even in the next year and it's just different now like a think too. I wanna hit on yoga again to Like the defense. A lot of it is positioning like you so good at knowing where to be like. His court mapping and awareness. We talk about on offense defense. I think he has maybe the best hands of big man. It's gotta be up there. You know he's not gonna block thunder shots or anything but like oh yeah. He's so good at just requirement for him like he he's always going to be physically limited and that's something that he he he's it himself like. There's a reason we're referencing tiger. Dunxin this podcast lead like look. He's he's never going to be the.

"And and i'm i'm glad that he is starting to really get that recognition that people are really starting to see it. It took a long time while the nuggets were losing earlier in the season it was it was a little bit shakey but now like just just after everything that we've seen I think that the shack comparison is very fair. And i think the what he is doing just as a versatile offensive weapon to really command and and be the tide that lifts all boats. I think it matters. I think it matters love for the center position as a whole to. Yeah no i totally agree man He just like yeah. I can't even add anything that i just. I get so bubbly like thinking about yokich man. He's just so good and like the amount of vine the thank you not this content will get out of it. Too is great. Like the picture of him stretching in the hallway. The picture of him racing his horse like just all this stuff man like he's he's he's great while all right so the next thing that i do want to talk about now that we aren't out. Upk's because there's very real and people need to accept it no matter what. Nick right says Maybe you could watch the nuggets play every once in awhile. That'd be cool just a couple times. Maybe once or twice could help but point being. What's really surprised me about the nuggets. Or i guess i shouldn't even say surprise like their defensive really ticked up a since the aaron gordon trade but since jamal's injury their fourth defense in the nba across twelve games and has been impressive to me. It just overall you can tell from them because they know that they're they're they're down. They're lacking shot creation They've really gelled and come together. Paul millsap has looked more mobile on the defensive. End him in engine. Michael green have been fantastic when they play together. I really enjoy watching that group and just overall like michael. Puerto juniors maze dries as a weeks. Iran protect your doing better stuff in help overall. Like i mean and of course you have mentioned how what aaron gordon brought. I think that's been ironed out. Well enough like he's been he's been awesome us really bought into his role but point being like the defense has just been flat out. Good and i think that's been undersold and looking this team could do in you know heading into the playoffs. They have had to rebrand themselves as a defensive team. And it's not. Just because jamal murray went down it was also because monte morris went down barton went down and thou. Pj dosier is down so they have had to fight scrap and claw their way into these winds and and while just opening the yokich reporter can really carry them on the offense event which they largely have but the defensive end is a is a really big deal because the players that the nuggets of brought in with shack harrison and austin rivers. I have been blown away by austin. Rivers has done and shack. Harrison may already be the best offensive player on the team. Just because of how quick his hands are how physical he can be and how well. He stays in front of his assignments while getting his hands on about every ball. He is awesome. Faku has really locked defensive end when you look down the roster right now just sort of the rotation that they generally play. There are no defensive weaknesses anymore and that's because nickel yokich has improved his defensive game..

Really strike today to be joined by a good friend of mine ryan blackburn. You can find him on twitter at nba blackburn Heels the pick ax podcast. And of course those some awesome work. Oh as the site manager. Over at denver stiffs ryan. How're you doing today. Man mark probably doing much better than your man. It's it's been It's been a frustrating day. I'm sure Did they win today. I know that that's part of the problem. And they did win two Which is a lot like. You'd think not a bad thing Pacers had like their worst game the season yesterday. All of the shitsu the fan with the media cycles everything has come out and then they go out and beat the hawks who just beat the brakes off of like the hottest team in basketball So i i have no idea with making the seem right now It's weird bands. They're just so drastic there so up and down and lately. It's of course been down. But like there's so many pieces onto on indiana. They run a pretty interesting scheme a lot of the time. So it's just for whatever. Reason hasn't worked. I i feel for you guys because i do like a lot of the pieces. There just really hasn't come to fruition. And it's unfortunate yeah. I'm not really sure what the thing about how things are going. I'm sure the. I have no doubt a wake up to even more stuff about it tomorrow but the reason i brought you on is because the denver nuggets are awesome. They're just a great team. I've loved watching them all year. Obviously i think things really swung when jamal murray went down i was two and a half three weeks ago. Now it's been twelve grams So i i think things really shifted course from the nuggets look like they're going to be titled contenders to the nuggets are just like a happy. Go lucky story. But i feel differently. i know just watching the team in the way that they've played in this what i really want to dive into like. I don't think i would say that. They're necessarily like full-on title contenders. But i still think that they have a chance to make our the west this year with how they're playing right now. It's going to be a lot harder. But given the way that the seating might shake out given how the lakers might end up in the as well that helps us in its entirety but to start off man nicole yokich is the mvp or at least you should be voted mvp. I'm kind of sick and tired of the amount of people who are saying that or we're talking about before gone here belittling the yokich. Mvp campaign. i. Somebody was going off today. Saying that yokich winning. Mvp is bad for basketball because he is unattractive and stuff like that and it got like a large amount engagement on it. And i was just like what are we doing here. How many they can pull off. Four tiger dunks in one game ryan. Oh man like hey if anybody can pull its it's nicole yokich do you actually know it. A tiger dunk is because i had no idea what tiger dunk is..

"An opposing player that that's easy for them to chat about like I can really get someone's head easier now or they can get really personal and say something that's going to that's going to that's going to hit you and you're saying like twenty rows back or as that was impossible, you know in a playoff environment. So I think playoff playoff happy home for a significant others of being get it. And of course this this this stretch is so important whether we're talking about that momentum going off season or just the overall confidence this team. Do you do you agree with this? Cuz I don't what how about that. How about John Smith calling me an idiot and Bobby just being like yeah. I'm going to post that John Smith dead. Good dunk. It was definitely one of the drunks of years when your name is John Smith. You can pretty much say whatever the hell you want cuz there's no tracking of junk. So you talk about John Smith Joe John John motherfuking Smith right now getting about miles bridges. That was a good dump. You couldn't see it because it was in 56k modem. That might not be fully expect. It just kept looping. Yeah you like again. It's like ten explain your parents like you just want to watch a replay or so and it's like an all day Affair. Anyways, I'm not worried about Miami if we see Miami that's a tough first-round matchup. Say that after what we just watched and September right now is the type of team that has the talent. They have the talent to put it together for, you know, a number of reasons that your injuries Health. It's just I do think they over they overplayed in the bubble last year. I think everyone could probably agree to that. They aren't, you know, the best team in the East certainly but they're a tough out and they play tough as nails they play behind Jimmy Butler Jersey. Out of style of play mentality bam murdered the Celtics last year now. They have a new and improved Rob and it'll be definitely interesting to see then that match up and Thompson. So I certainly expect it to be difficult series, but I mean to say that I wouldn't be worried that that's you know, a little extreme. I think the Celtics can can definitely beat them, but it would be a battle, you know, and that's you know, that's a type of series that if that's the first round series that just takes it could take a lot out of you. Did you catch Brooklyn last night dress way? I did it but I heard about it. Geez, you gotta ejected wage. They got they were terrible. Yeah, we can do you want to do a Kyrie thing. Now that John's gone. Yeah. Awful defensively they are not fixing themselves on the defensive end of the floor by being all Marcus Aldridge and after the game, he said he was horrible on defense and he had to go watch a film about it because he was so bad. The Lakers had no LeBron James Oh Davis, and they went in there and just dominated them Andre Drummond was all over the interior, which is about trust been killed it..

"I mean you talked three NBA off some. Yeah. I'm not I I think I just come on and execs and Scouts and settings out. But yeah, it's it's still it only takes one to follow along. It's not going to be a situation where if he goes 27th. I'm going to have my hands in my face and yell like Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone, like it's a doable scenario. Like he could go twenty-five to I think you had like the forties. I think that's pretty reasonable. Honestly, I will be surprised if he gets Beyond 50 straight up like again, I don't even know that I will have him in the top Fifty Dead. Guess that I probably will but it's not like a certainty necessarily that I will have him in the Top fifty. I would guess he'll be somewhere between 31 and 50 for me. This is this is a pretty positive segment. It started with the the dignified tell line and we're not even totally disagreeing we're saying there's some upside in the actual place. He gets chosen were credited for everything you've done for college basketball. We're positive here pause of people like it's a more complicated situation. I tweeted this like when I saw the Luka Garza discourse starting on Twitter on Tuesday America in America, I was like look this situation is much more complicated than anyone's going to give it credit for being because Luka Garza has a million options that is disposed off because of the Bosnian passport. He is one of the most decorated celebrated college basketball players of the last decade he is also just not really a fit for the NBA, but he's a fit song. Of if you play a drop coverage scheme and need spacing from the five like if I was the Bucks and I had a picket 45, I would want him to fall to 45. I would want to take the shot that he can play with in my drop coverage scheme same with Portland like Portland is an interesting fit for him. There are real genuine teams out there. That should consider him high above them where I'm generally going to have him and that's why the idea of like the big board right of prospects in a lot of ways. It's kind of silly, right because every team should have bought a very drastically different Big Board based on the scheme that they run based on the Personnel that they have Etc the idea of picking for only like the best players I think is not a great place. But at the end of the day the odds are the Luke Garza is probably not going to be like a difference-making NBA player because it's just really hard to do that at his athleticism log. Like Nikola jokic is I would say even considerably more athletic than Luka Garza. Yeah different. Yeah, like just more fluid and can handle the ball and off like has real dexterity and like hand-eye coordination and like Vision with the way that he passes and it's it's just a totally different skill-set, but I think he's also just a better athlete with Luka Garza is especially this year. Like if you've seen much of the Nuggets this year, I haven't watched on NBA now, so he actually looks athletic and that's not to say that like, I don't want to say like he looks at home by NBA standards, but like Luka garage Nikola jokic his clearly added some quickness this year and it's part of why he's like making an empty people's right. Now. I think like he's gone from home super Elite player to like potential MVP candidate and I think it's in part because he's quicker. He's just like a better athlete than Luka Garza like that even even the comparison falls apart in terms of athleticism, I think. Which is a concern..
