Depart the go round apart about your about your podcast ford. We have rotating themes we have five themes that we run in a very strict rotation. So there's new to where it's new to the three host. We have now. It's can we just talk about which is movies that just something as desperate to talk about but doesn't fit in any of our other categories future classics which is movies that have come out in the last ten years that we think will be classic. There's around the world which is an international film and then the last one is you. Did this us where the audience picks the film and it's often challenge. Because because you did this us. You did that to me nicole for that slot. I w- orgy. Tried or i didn't know it was other roster i don't know is going to get stuck with which he'll be out some day keeping it will. It will be well. It's only seven years call. I know i was seventeen. We recorded episode. That when it does can you can find it on g. Our podcast dot com or any of your podcast apps. And i'm not sure if i said this on this show our before we started recording but i think it was before i love movie. Go round in general. You get to watch movies. That i wouldn't normally watch particularly like the around the world and also i find you guys very soothing. You're all smart. You'll have your opinions. You never fights. It's i love it. It's just a nice nice show opening show. I don't know if i'd wanna do it every week. If we fought on a regular basis if there wasn't at least there's the occasional affectionate sort of play fighting argument. But that's that's about it. You tend to always be on the same page with its manual came in. I don't think i did. I had zero nostalgia for man. I think we also about sean astin though random random. I found new movie with paulie shore in it that he's actually durable. It's pretty polish. It's fan a little movie phantom a mall which is overall adorable. It's phantom of the opera but set in them all with teenagers and he's very sweet in its before he was on mtv and had that character but anyway we're not talking about police. Your i think which is battling now. So we're going to wrap things things that we're going to wrap things up. Thank you so much for joining me for the inaugural episode of season twelve australian. This is the movie but we got through it. And i think it's fabulous. And i think both of you are as well. Thank you for. Oh you're both welcome anytime daycare. Kids all right them. Well that was easy at her face contorted. She's fucking devil. Wasn't expecting that jump scare. I dislike shot out of my couch watching. "Jesus never comes up. It's always god which granted same price or whatever. I'm going to get into that stuff. Let's talk about the sexuality of mods ecstasy harasser beaches. As as casey casey lovingly gushed in bisbee erotic. And it is. She has a crush so hard on her manda. She wants her approval. She wants a to think she's lake. Something special i mean and the sexuality between amanda and the people who come over to our house like bothers mob on a deep level in really connected with me because i remember when i was growing up young and queer eye just had these crushes on friends that were just a little bit too intense Like i was shy and quiet much. Like maude except without the religious thing right so seeing her like tension i mean. Amanda was like awakening something in her. She didn't want to really see but she somewhat enjoyed it in my mind. Sort of living through. Amanda in a way. Oh yeah i mean. Because there's a team. Was she buying on. Amanda through the crack and the door when she's when she's got a man's girlfriend is over carol and a lot of having sex per se but they're they're they're having a roddick moments otherwise very sexy moment and she stands there for way too long and amanda caesar and is looking her dead in the eye and she doesn't go. She's drinking everything that you see. She's not she's not running away birthing and say stop it. Yeah because lee She's totally paralyzed with that. Because it's it's to me. She's just wanting to be part of it also disgusted by it. I feel like she's kind of frozen and that scene and palette of care that she's doing is also extremely intimate. She's bathing amanda. She's doing all these exercises with. Amanda which always touching her body and having a massage and stretches this is a very intimate relationship and she just wants to everybody else up and maybe not have sex number necessarily sexual just because she don't go that way anymore. I need you to be my world. I need you. I need you to need me to be your world right. You need anybody else. How infuriating it must be for amanda to be so independent in like need her but not need her in any way that maud feels like she should. Yeah her description of how she they have that discussion when amanda s the suv. When you pray you actually hear him. Does he answer and she says no when you prayed. Do you get a response..

"Yes very much one of the things the call you use the word that i have underlined seven times from the first frame of the film to the last frame of the film. This is imposing sense of dread. And you don't know where it's coming from. You just know. Nothing good is going to happen. Anybody well like the first opening. Three minutes of the movie is like japanese horror film. She sitting corner she shivering. There's a cockroach involved. There's like somebody who's dead and there's this long drippy hair and it's just like did she. Climb out of a well did she. Climb out of the tv in the world's darkest filthiest thinkest hospital room as well. Is there slow. What what back alley basement are you in girl. Yeah imposing sense of dreaded just gets worse and worse and worse and worse and i love it basically what we have there are there are a lot of characters just kind dancing and dance out. They lead dimmer. But we have basically a spiritual chess match going on between two characters mod and amanda and both of these actors are amazing in different ways. More fed clark plays Welsh that double d. it's more faith thank you. thank you. Dis sh twenty seven consonants. In a row. And it's spelt my listeners. Thank thank you the garage. Yes i love this. This role could have been played crazy. And it's wonderfully unmotivated and controlled. Which makes her frightening on the flipside. Jennifer earl a ginger ale and. I'm sorry i looked them all up before we do and i forgot it's really as amanda mag network yet looking like looking like merrill in a turban i wrote merrill which is given me given me sigourney..

Where to get help what you can do and resources for healing all of these links and information will be there in the show so please please. Don't go through this alone. this help out there. This help to be had all you have to ask for it so like i said it's been a while since i recorded that session with the coal so about a lot of time to think about the movie and stuff that stirred up in me and interpretations of it and things like that one of the things that surprised me that in the weeks since people have a different opinion but then we did particularly ending. We all seem to come to the conclusion that hunter getting rid of the baby and starting over was a jerk ending but an optimistic one. A lot of people see the complete opposite. I've seen so many discussions of the film now where people think that her life is ruined now. She's literally in the toilet. And this is why i love films. Don't tell you what to feel or how to think or let you fill in blanks for yourself. Less time when we talked about less girl standing kevin was particularly upset that they didn't give back story for cameron for anything before that night of the massacre and i around the subject i didn't have the thought completely formed i. It didn't come out the way. Thought i didn't have the thought fully formed in my head yet. How i wanted to response to that. What i felt was that you don't know anything about her before. Meant because i think because it doesn't matter now that she's a survivor. She's somebody that's not quite what i'm feeling now. I realized now based on my own personal experience when somebody goes through traumatic incident a major traumatic incident. That's all the defined by it didn't matter who you were before you're always going to be the girl who survived or you're the guy with eight or guy who had the car and the guy who lost his arm or the girl who lost the baby whatever. That's what's always first and foremost to people's minds. It doesn't matter that you were on broadway star or a successful real estate agent or anything. It's just oh you're that person tragedies what people remember what people know you and i see this ties into swallows. Well just like for instance. Hunter has the dirty secret what she thinks dirty secrets through the process of rape. That if anybody knows that that all they're gonna know all people are gonna know whereas and then when her illnesses revealed it's the same thing. Oh god now. Everybody knows it's all anybody's gonna think of me. And that is a crippling place to be and will keep you from getting help and i know that because it took a long time for many realize that the relationship i was in was abusive emotionally. I thought everything was my fault. Everything that went wrong was always my fault. And i'm the one is a script. Because i was the one who was sick so i'm the one who had problems in my brain doesn't always work. Well does work all right all the time and sometimes come out wrong and i can't do math right anymore and you know it's probably my fault. Never done me until i was in a subway station and i saw a poster for the anti violence project and it was just a checklist of questions and if you answered yes to any of them you might be in an emotionally abusive relationship. I answered yes to all of them. And that's when the light bulb finally went on. And i could speak for the anti violence project because it was them who eventually contacted when it started to work my nerve and make that first phone call the first terrifying phone call but they helped didn't happen overnight but they got me out and got me out safely to help us out there so please seek. It's awful it's awful. It's just that wall of people all the time. I know that really. Well my family when i got really sick and they were not helpful. I've talked about on the show before. I said if i stayed in that house i would have died. They were they were in fact doing their best. What they felt was the best. But just saying you're the way you're acting. I'm never going to get well. And that's where she is and she knows it and it was hard for to watch. It's hard for may talk about them. Getting understandable understandable. Yeah and i mean thing you want at the psychiatrist's office is to have your husband and your father in law there with you and richie leave. Yeah i'm paying for this. We're having until we get the baby out of her and then we can lock her up wherever she needs to go and he can marry somebody better. That's really all they care about now. Gosh to see where he's like. You see where wasn't a movie but he's cuddled up behind her and he's holding her and he's going i love you. I love you so much. But he's patting the belly of mike. Do not like he would not have this. He's not there for her. He's there for him. "A strange part about that. Here's an straight. I know that was the creepiest scene. But at the same time. That's the first time in the film where the soundtracks stopped doubling everything you know cheetos sadly she suddenly got normal with this guy and i thought it was going to lead to something else but it didn't obviously something even deeper inner character but it was. That was one thing. I noticed that the beginning i thought was amazing sight everything. She hears us in doubles. She's not state. Yeah sounds like it would be worth the watch. The again with headphones on jackson lake death. Okay but what i find fascinating is prison that she's in this glorious house that she's that is it's like a terrarium cut her. Cut her off from the rest of the world for her to grow what they won't want her to be nicole. Tell about her house. It's beautiful and it's modern and there's glass everywhere and there's wood paneling but it's classy wood paneling. It's like it's a real wood polished to a glow a warm glow but they're floor to ceiling window walls and it's just there's no. There's no privacy. There's no personality to it really. I mean there are some bumps in some chomsky's here and there are no one's ever read any those books ever. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't there. Because of what. Color the book jackets were. They went with the carpet there. Yeah it's that kind of a house and it's that kind of families that she's would we meet her she is yes. Yes but like one stepford wife in the making. Oh yeah yeah like a just a piece of furniture. Ucla as they say but she's just furniture in this film. you know. Get a look. Frank lloyd wright's home and she's just part of the accessories one of the things that i learned during theater victorian works. Is that those. There'd be pages of script and things in that area at era where the women would just wait where nothing would happen until a man came along. That's where she is a all the time. Oh when her husband's she's waiting she's playing games. She's vacuuming with their with their heels. On like a good step but she's just in this constant state of waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting and then what her husband comes. Now she's alive now. I'm a person and it's just awful. And is he got ritchie and he doesn't care and it's He pretends he cares. He maybe even thinks he cares but he doesn't care you know. I just found that strange with his character because it was so it was so schizophrenic. Through the whole film at first you kind. Kinda thought oh. He'd seems like a cool boy. He was very nice at time. She thought he really meant it. And then other times and other times not. That's you know vapid good looks that's about it. I said before we started that. I unintentionally pick these movies to put in a row during this time period of my life that i'm at a real low and all these movies are playing at what's really bothering me And this family is my family. And i was in an emotionally controlling relationship. So that guy totally knows what that's about. I'm always showering complements our show. I'm going to do complements. Everything's great you're beautiful your perfect but it's always for a reason it's just a control. You doing exactly what i wanted to do without you seeing that i'm doing it and that's what this guy is a master at this whole family and it's terrifying to watch for me anyway. I was like that's my life. I was that i was her. I was her for a while and i didn't. I didn't even know what was happening. And she's fine. She's wonderful and she's approved of until she chose that she has a mind and emotions of her own. What i thought was fascinating about this movie in its on is that deals with the whole disease of pica. Could one of you tell me what that is. I'm sorry nicole. I know she did. She went down the well. also i. i've been pregnant twice. So pike is a condition that some pregnant women develop where they get this compulsion to consume things. That aren't food and it's most often things like earth or chalk or you know there. There's a theory that it's because your body is craving particular minerals. Are things that you're not getting in your diet But no one knows for certain at this point and You know. I myself never. I never had it. Although i did have cravings for mcdonald's milkshakes and given the cellulose content shrew. Those aren't food can be made at iraq's style i remember thank you thank you she develops. She develops this condition where she swallowing things that have no nutritional value that are potentially harmful may get bigger and bigger more dangerous dangerous and instead it's weight instead of this at another movie the disease or the conditions would be vilnai's and this her way out right. It's her first step into finding herself. Yeah at no point is like now. I've kicked it now. It's just like this till finally get your shit together. It's a really creepy way to look at it. You know how. I took it almost in a sense because of the past year we had to live through that we had to swallow so much shit on a regular basis for the past four years that healthy. None of it was healthy. All of it had to be exercised one way or another. So essentially i was taken is like in a would swallow that once. Swallow this one swallow another. You know caracas shit. And it's came across very much as a lot of us are feeling today to very insecure. We don't know what we are anymore and now we're just slowly edging back into whatever society is going to be from now on down. I have never had. I've never dealt with anyone. Who had this dealt with this particular condition but over the years working in theatre i have dealt with young women with eating disorders bulimia anorexia relatives where that and the one thing that they all had in common with somebody in their life that was excessively controlling. And i've heard some doctors say that this sometimes this eating disorder. Thing is about regaining control. Getting i'm controlling everything else control. But i've got this. This is something i just did. That is mine did it. I have a secret. i'm in control of that. No one else can have it. It's mine and so. I went in with that knowledge and so i don't know maybe i said yeah. This actually all fits because she is not in control of her life. Poor thing right and it's typically after some sort of Controlling move from her husband or his parents that she'll go and find something else to swallow. I mean it's not just she's not just swallowing these things. She's she's swallowing her emotions. She swallowing her rage. Just looking at my notes so many. It's not sure where to go with it. So many about five pages worth of it's still sinking into me now even just like our after it. It's just like this scene. The scene with the mother-in-law in the living room was so horrific for me even though nothing frightening happens and it because that is so my family and that so my family's living room the living room that we only bring just guest in to to make them feel intimidated. The one that's fifty shades of ecru becker. Don't touch anything everything and here's really expensive. We're only in here to make you feel really uncomfortable and inferior. And.

"Patrick welcome february happy slowly. Snowy slushy grows aspirin everywhere. Y'all three feet of it. Yes so alan how're you. How is the winter. Been treating you. What has been going on with us since last june when we last talked quite a bit summer and my dad died so that was that was one of those things that took most of the summer and everything so he passed away in september and Just you know getting back into everything again. I miss them a lot them but he was ninety one though so great long long life you know but even at that point to you just want more of it. Sure sure lot but you know it. It'll it's going to be good year. It's got to be a good there better be. I got cakes on the asset. It's not davis. I will not be kicking. Nicole davis nicole. Davis is your first time to scream queens park before we go a step further. Why are you tell us what goes on over the movie go round. I would love to say that. It's awesome sort of master plan. This go round idea that we but mainly it was because we wanted to be able to do like a huge variety of things. We have new two when we have future classics and netflix. And we have around the world and then we have one that our audience picks and usually they're mean but occasionally they're nice and we're always hoping for another what we do in the shadows but last one we put out with cats so goes it's fun question that's burning on everyone's mind. Is the cat woman episode ever coming out it was just so bad dramas it will come out. Unfortunately are wonderful co host producer editor. Brett works at a food delivery service company and golly they're business has been doing remarkably well lately so he has quite busy. I would just like to be sure that. I didn't watch cat woman for nothing because man absolutely place is not in vain. And i'll never forget that it wasn't you that did that to me. It was them. that's right. They they did it to us and much like i've inflicted this movie upon you the movie. Swallow alan yes. Since you're a veteran this show we have a little tradition here at scream queens headquarters that you have not been forced to participate in the past because he tied thirty second back of the dvd cover plot summary of swallow. Don't give me the whole story but pitch me that script. I'm an executive in an elevator. You have thirty seconds. That's okay we're probably going to do a film in the vein of a sort of out. She can't think roman polanski kind of diary of a mad housewife matched with sorta snake bit of a kronenbourg type of body heart issues. Put it together swat. That was so awful. Believe it was so doubtable. The title is a command. That was bad. Oh honey that's not the worst that's happened when make just slop like a fish which is great for audio but no that was a great nicole. Davis d. any bottles that you would wanna fill in. If you have another thirty seconds. What would you go now. Oh this lovely. Young bride has married into a family that she didn't realise was quite so emotionally controlling and as they tightened down there hold on her. She begins a swallowing more and more unusual objects as her pregnancy hormones. Have i'm compulsion up. God well done. i'll watch that. Hey hey alan you brought in the big names from implants get everybody and she gave me it really really. It did hit me a lot. Like i was getting a real feeling of like rip from repulsion catherine geneva got a lot of that and i was getting even the like diarrhea vermont housewife a little bit from the seventies. That was classic. It didn't go anywhere. I expected it to go not at all. I was really pleased about. I thought it was going to turn into a really gruesome thing and it was and it was gruesome and every time anticipated the worst. They let me off fatally which was good which was gay. 'cause it's like mission accomplished. That was my exact same reaction. I wasn't expecting a completely different movie. I was expecting a gross out. Movie on what she going to god and just have everything lined up like trophies on her vanity. Table so wild. It's like one accomplish tomb accomplishment three accomplishment. Just the poor thing. She's such an empty vessel in this movie. Yeah you're not that kind of movie and even like forty five minutes an which she started scooper through the toilet. I'm like she's going to start any pope. I was afraid. I seriously thought that too wrong. It's actually something better. I would also now but no no no was surprised of a movie. It went nowhere. Exactly what you said. It went nowhere. Expected and people are even debating whether or not it's a horror movie even though it's bill G definitely an emotional horror movie. Yeah i mean it's macabre drama. It's definitely got a lot of things going on. I mean are monsters. In this kind of miller kind of a thriller but not in the thrill sense. You know it. it's it's hard to pinpoint it. It really is towards haley bennett. So hunter what our performance but did she also right this on it also have something to with the screenplay are. I'm not sure about the screenplay. But she was an executive producer on it. Okay all right all right. Brown wonderful layer performance from the first frame of the movie. Like i love a movie. That where the the film itself tells you stories like each frame of the film is like. Oh i know exactly what's going on and you're telling me something. They're standing on that balcony with the plexiglas and just on the other side is fog and it looks like there's nothing all the shots were so interesting as i'm thinking about it now in thinking about her personality and her character how she's always part of the shot there's a lot of negative space being used should be in peace of into or a In a reflection of it but it's not really her all the time. The very interesting to you know in this very very cold cold cold world and environment is really cool to watch. It had a really cool sort of like the early. French films had like that. The wage the new age style of filmmaking really thought it was in that vein. I really liked it. Yeah when she's i noticed when she is around her husband and her in laws she tends to wear these very washed out drab colors but when she's by herself in the home she brings out the emerald greens and the purples and the ad ran boarding the morning. Glow or yellow. That keeps coming back. They kind of signal early on like when she's doing something she likes. She's got that canary yellow primary yellow somewhere on her body and the first one which eats that thumb tack cuts where right afterwards where strip down to her panties and bra. And it's that yellow mike. That's her this is the first time she's come out you know what else is twisted to is the sound design because of the beginning. Everything you're hearing read was doubled. If some soundcheck yes yes. Her husband's speak to her and they reverted all of that everything. She was hearing all the way up to the one point where he brought his buddies home. And the one guy comes in against. Can i have a hug. Here's.

"So much for having the am so excited to talk to you. I'm so excited to talk to you to casey. I love your work. I cannot emphasize that enough. Well thank you so much. I i love it when people respond to it. Because it's just like my little like passion projects not just the door doing excellent. Here's the whole thing. Here's a whole big. I've spent eleven to twelve years working on this show and the whole gist of it. When i started was i'm inviting people to look at horror movies in a different way through someone else's eyes and what you've done with this. Feminism frontline is just that you reinterpreting them in your own way still paying complete respect to the original things but adding new dimension student now have about me babbling about how great you are tells about you. Where are you in this crazy world. I'm in arkansas. The northeast quarter of arkansas. Wow and i got hit by the snow. There's a little bit of snow outside since you've been the featured artist particularly for the fence. What was your inspiration for picking these your for reimagining all these facts and heart. You know i am such a horror. Fan has been since. I was a little kid and I just watch horror movies constantly. Which i'm sure you and your audience completely go with. I could talk okay. i started with. I watched a girl walks home alone at night. One of my all time favorite. I i saw it. I couldn't get out of my head. And i kept thinking about that character and i was like i just wanna draw this this woman and like this boil down way whereas all simplicity just the essence of the character with his little details possible. And i did it. And i got a ton of reaction to this illustration. And i was like this is awesome. I didn't even realize because it was right when it came out for the american audiences or whatever like when when we see it and the reaction was just so positive. And donna me. Why don't i just do these women that i'm passionate about. That just really moved me in horror. Movies doesn't matter how obscure in the same style and just try to boil them down to the simplest ingredients. Try to watch the whole movie. Put some hidden stuff in. There's stuff that really boils down to what i feel the character trillions and such kept doing it was just just for me really it. I people have been responding to it. Well so that that makes me super happy so i love them one of his i. I've said repeatedly what i'm talking about on the show. Is that even though you. Boil them down to their essences of whimsy and play to them. But they don't lose their menace either by spy stripping things down actually add another layer to them which is fascinating. It's awesome. i love that. Like just take for instance pamela mrs voorhees. Oh yes. I love her for her face. Totally sums up twenty twenty. She's like no way belittling. What'd you say. Her mouth got that downward curtain semicircle curve. Which reminds me of charlie brown cartoons. When they go no that totally sense i wanted to look her crazed which is the whimsy but then she's got those dead blank white eyes which are terrifying so it just wonderful combination of medicine whimsey and i love it. I love it. I love it i love it. I found all by favorites. Like i'm wearing my mary t shirt right now. If you notice girl to marry mary lou girl really but we're not getting into politics so okay. So what are some of your favorite horror movies. I mean i could pick some just from from your collection. But i'd like to ask you probably you probably can't i mean my favorite is rosemary's baby like hooked me from when i was younger. I love house of the devil. I just saw one a recently. And i just flipped. I don't know if you've seen amulet yet. Yes yes. I need to rewatch that. Because i don't really understand it but i think it's okay that i don't understand it because it's really scary. Anyway i wanna watch it again to i. I've been there some certain ones. I get so intimidated. The draw that. I love so much. And like i mean but i just love all the weird like you know slow. Burn colton tenere. i'm into it. You know but what else. I've got so many that it's it's even hard to girl walks. Tonight is obviously one of them. I love under the skin. raw cam. bloom mind on that one's not the movie expected it to be at all it respected women in a way. I didn't expect it to. I went into it thinking. I don't know about this one and it yes exactly. It just seems like your basic made for direct to video sleaze fast. But it wasn't no no. I love a movie still after all these years. I love movie. They can still take me by surprise. Have you always been artistically. Inclined is that has always been a thing. It really has like even growing up as a kid. I used to like sit in class and draw on my jeans. The sharpie always knew. I wanted to go into art. Yeah i just had like this pair of jeans. I just covered drawings. I've always drawn. I got in trouble for drawing in class. I moved into like for career. I work at a t shirt company. I do like custom illustration and i've done graphic design for a long time so it just has always been the clear path for me. I am always envious of anyone who was skilled at the visual arts. because that i'm performing artists. Give me singing dancing. Let's up that i can do. Give me a pen and a pencil. Stick figures come out looking one is bad. Must out stick figure. Good patrick always the best. Buy that clearly. You don't get it exactly. It's all about the confidence and you probably haven't heard about it exactly a state case. Since you've been a lifelong har- did you ever get into trouble for liking horror. Movies going onto jefferson. That sort of thing. Like i have had people in the show before that it's like i would get in trouble for doodling in class like some dumping from a horror movie and all of a sudden it'd be the principal's office and my called like worship citing. I think i was already so weird growing up my parents just thought it was just another thing like so we would go on sleepovers like when i was in third grade. Weeded sleepovers in. Watch all the freddy kruger movies. And the only time i got in trouble was when one of my friend's moms realized that's what we were up to you know But otherwise i was my mary. Ellen was up all night with nightmares. Because the vet casey lohman. I don't think you should see that. Casey girl anymore. Something wrong with her hands for being a bad influence. I by virtually visited women. Harm up. what are some of your favorite like women. Helmed phyllis eight hundred. You mentioned girl. Watch night anything else women movies. Let me cheat and look at my like. I mean lucky. This year blew my mind. I don't know if you've seen that yet. Not yet yeah. I jumped on the pandemic thing movies this year. Just kind of got lost on my end. Because i had to stop watching harvey's for a long time because i couldn't handle it. "Good evening. I'm Nicole Davis. Great to be back with you. Here's what's happening. States Department of Public Health is out tonight with their latest Covic report. As always, let's go to WBC's Carl Stevens to break it down the way this update from the state Department of Public Health shows. There are 967 new confirmed covert cases in the Commonwealth. The first time in a long time, that number's been below 1000 now. That's partly because there were relatively few tests, but it's also because the seven day positivity rate stays low at 2.2%. Also lower the number of covert patients in hospitals now fewer than 1103. And a half weeks ago, there were more than 2000 and there are 49 new confirmed covert related deaths. Bringing that total statewide to 15,257. Carl Stevens, WBC Boston's news radio. Meantime, several Bay State lawmakers are signing on a brand new letter to Governor Baker. They're demanding change to the way we register for vaccines here in Massachusetts. Letter was written by Congresswoman Katherine Clark, and in that letter, she says she wants the state to develop a central system for residents to pre register for the covert vaccine. The system would also confirm your eligibility. So when you're good to go, you would get a notification and you would also be scheduled for a nearby appointment. The letter. Congresswoman Clark says the pandemic is still disproportionately devastating communities of color and it's more variants get confirmed, she says. It is even more urgent to get the vaccine deployed. Letter does acknowledge there's plenty of challenges, and the delegation points the finger at the Trump administration, saying many of those challenges were compounded by how the administration mishandled the pandemic. Six Oh, one President Biden heading out to Wisconsin tonight for a town hall in Milwaukee and a during his time in the very chilly, snowy Midwest. Mr Biden is pitching is nearly $2 Trillion covert relief bill. The president has called for Republicans support to get it passed, but he doesn't need it. White House is not saying for certain what day they have to get this bill to the president's desk, but Mid March is what's circled on the calendar is at the White House because that is when there are key benefits that had been extended at the end of last year, extended weekly unemployment benefits that millions of Americans are getting. That's when they're set to expire, so they're running against the clock right now, And that is a B C's Karen Travers in Washington. The House is moving toward passing that package. Appeals court likely to rule Obamacare unconstitutional

"After ninety minutes of oral arguments yesterday it's now up to a panel of judges at a federal appeals court to make a decision on the act you might know it as obamacare and decide if it's constitutional ABC Serena Marshall spoke with WBZ's Nicole Davis for a rundown of this case yeah some people are saying Hey didn't we already do this that and the I pulled the fact that the other part is constitutional and you're right in twenty twelve they did on the premise that Congress is allowed to tax and therefore collect on the individual mandate in twenty seventeen Congress rewrote the tax law and in doing that day also zeroed out that penalty requires you to have health insurance so taxes let it charge of eighteen a Republican led state to file a lawsuit that now because that tax penalty is zero there is no longer a requirement to have health insurance and therefore the entire affordable Care Act is unconstitutional because it cannot be sustained without the requirement that everyone have health insurance a Texas judge upheld that ruling they said yes it is entirely unconstitutional and yesterday an appeals court in New Orleans at this circuit court of appeals listen to oral arguments we don't expect a decision on that and till September but Nicole no matter how they rule there's a likelihood this will be appealed to the Supreme Court which means that to the earliest they could take up the case would be this fall the earliest we could get a response from them if they do take up the case to be next may or June so no matter what happens here we expect twenty twenty three really focused again on healthcare absolutely so of course if the justices of the Supreme Court eventually do decide to invalidate the ACA what does this mean for everyday Americans when it comes to their health care coverage there are a lot of provisions of the ACA that people really want including the ability to keep children on their plans until twenty six the requirement you can't discriminate against people because of pre existing conditions after that you have the free preventative healthcare and expanded Medicare those are all provisions of people I really like and I've been seem to be very popular all of those are part of the ACA if the entire laws invalidated all of those could go away now that's not to say that it's how even this lower court rules rule now legal analysts see three possible outcomes they could afford a lower court ruling striking down individual mandate and therefore the entire AC is constitutional they could invalidate demanded alone separate from the rest of the Lally much of it in place or they could leave the law functioning as it others are also possibilities of how the Supreme Court could eventually rule as well but that definitely something this twenty twenty democratic contenders are watching it something members on Capitol Hill or watching the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said yesterday if the law is ruled unconstitutional that plan to take up a bipartisan legislation to ensure protection for those with pre existing conditions immediately but Nicole we haven't seen any legislative tax any outlined even from the Republican Party when it comes to how they plan to replace the affordable Care Act plans that dumbed down though by a John McCain at two years ago that was a B.
