"My patriot supply dot com. I want to get your reaction to this back and forth. JJ Redick, who I always enjoyed watching JJ Redick at duke, great player, called out Kendrick Perkins for suggesting that Nikola Jokić, Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki only won the MVP because they were white. And now mind you, I've stopped watching the NBA a couple years ago. I might watch the playoffs here or there. I didn't even know who Nikola Jokić was until somebody told me about him. That's how disconnected I am. But Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. Now those were my guys growing up. And so I find this whole narrative to be repulsive. But good for JJ Redick. I'm sure he's going to get a call from Disney for speaking truth. Play cut 59. It is an honor to be on this desk every day. It really is. But what we've just witnessed is the problem with this show. Where we create narratives that do not exist in reality. The implication what you are implying that the white voters that vote on NBA are racist, they favor white people. You just said that. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. That is exactly what you implied physical purpose. That is exactly what you applied. Secondly, hold on. Hold on. I did not call. I stated the facts. I stated the facts and you not about to sit up. We all know what you implied the other day. We all know what to imply. Hold on. I started a time. It's the fun. It's the first. It's the facts. Jason, is it the facts? What's going on here? So I know Kendrick Perkins, he used to appear on the show. I did for Fox Sports. Look, Kendrick is like a lot of athletes. They spend a lot of time developing their physical gifts and don't spend a lot of time working on critical thinking. And so much of their thinking comes from Twitter. And Twitter has convinced many of these athletes and many of the broadcasters on TV that racism explains everything, anything that they don't like racism is the answer. And so niccolo, Nikola Jokić and a lot of foreign born players are dominating the NBA. And I'm talking about black and white for Yanis, onto the Google. That's right, Luca. See, I know that one. There you go. There's a lot of black joy. He's not from America. They're dominating the NBA right now. And niccolo Nicola yoke is about to win his third straight MVP. And the black American born players are frustrated and don't even understand, I wrote about Kendrick and these guys that Kendrick really is a maga person. He's an America first person, but he can't say that. He can't say, hey, you know, they got all these foreign players dominating the NBA, black and white guys. And you know, it's infringing on what had been our little sweet spot of dominance in the NBA. He can't say that. He can't be an America first person because, you know, he has to hate Donald Trump. He has to eat anything that really supports America. And so he plays the race card and falls into that trap of instead of saying, hey, the NBA has opened its borders and is allowing players from all over the world to come in and play and they're now taking our jobs. He can't say that because, you know, we're a globe. We bought into this global citizen. Well, I'm just curious though, Jason. I mean, why do you think that is? Why is it that it's so interesting? I've heard anybody say that. And I actually have no necessary problem with it. They're just better. Why is it that our players at AAU is it just, is it a technical thing? Is that a cultural thing? Well, as it relates to American born, African American players. Or blacks are white, whatever. Why is it that our players are not necessarily dominating the league as much as foreign born? I'm going to reduce it to the black American players because that's who has been dominating for 50, 60 years. Charlie, our family structure is in such tatter is in such horrible shape that you just don't produce the same kind of kids that we used to. That I'm just, it's just a fact. Our family structure is in such shambles that we're not producing the same quality of athletes. They're not as tough, they're not mentally tough. They, again, as you see with Kendrick Perkins and kindergarten comes from a decent family, but he's part of a culture that celebrates ignorance. And so these guys don't think critically. The game has become more international and European. It's being driven by these advanced metric stats..

And it's just a matter of ultimately how they Match up and you're talking about Devin Booker and him laughing at what they're going to put up defensively. If I'm the me If I'm the Milwaukee Bucks, I'm thinking, okay. Devin Booker has to guard somebody. Is he gonna guard through holiday? Is he going to guard Chris Middleton? Either one of those guys That's advantage. Milwaukee So and Brook Lopez and beyond rate and people are thinking that DeAndre Ayton has got a decided advantage over Brook Lopez because he put you know Andre Drummond in a body bag and and, um And was very effective against Nicola Yoke. The M V P one of the Yeah, Neither one of those guys is the defensive player that Brook Lopez is Brook Lopez has been Oh, Ending defensively. He's one of the biggest reasons. Why the Milwaukee Bucks? He's been sensational and continued his role as being a playmaker and getting everybody involved. But Devin Booker, you're Devin Booker. Jason McIntyre, Who is this all world player? Has quietly been very up and down. Very inconsistent. Did you know that Chris Paul for all of his shooting woes that were well documented after he missed the first two games. Of the conference finals. Chris Paul is actually shooting better overall and from three point range. Then Devin Booker. In these playoffs. Can you imagine that now? How can if you are the score? You're not much of a defender. You're not a playmaker. And you are shooting worse than Chris Paul overall and from three point range. And you are the superstar. You are the best player on the team. But when aaron gordon has the ball one guy's a weapon instead of five guys being a weapon. Yokich has the ball. So i think that yokich was ignored and that was a bit of a mistake and i don't know if the sun's just felt like they were a little bit more energetic right throughout the entire game..

And are we then having that same conversation about the Jazz rather than The Denver Nuggets, because also, Ah, lot of that Syriza and this team. Who was going to have that kind of attention in terms of one single player, no VP buzz, and that's the thing is that Nicola Yoke. It's is a fan favorite, especially NBA blogger favorite. Everybody loves yoke. It's because he's a walking triple double. Whereas ready, Go Bear has been much maligned, and it's sure he's a great defender, and he's great of protecting the rim. But you can scheme him off the floor. And what else does he do? Any. It is only a walking well for bread Right now. He's a giant loaf of bread doing three sixties in the paint, and everyone loves him. And how could you not? He's this big, doughy guy and he's He's embarrassing everyone around him, and he's like we've never seen anything like him. He's the weirdest player and he's so much fun to watch. Because it just looks so weird. And you know, on top of him being obviously really, really good at basketball, he was going to have the attention. Um, as much attention as any single like non LeBron player was going to have this year. He was going to have it and you know, it was gonna be like him and Luca were probably like the preseason favorites for For VP. It's probably the two of them and LeBron I would imagine, and I don't know. I've seen, um some strength of schedule stuff with the Nuggets early on that they had had it harder, eh? So far this season than others, and you know, you imagine a lot of that would regress and If that means theoretically, then you know the rest of their season and schedule would be on the easier and then you could see a lot of that. Come back, and, um you know, I think things will balance out but It doesn't feel like with the Jazz that there is much regression to be had, because yeah, they could stop shooting as well. But I mean, we're going to get to the point where The sample size is enough where this is just who they are. And yeah, they might have to play defense and they have game. You know, if they have games where they shoot bad those are going to be aberrations and not, you know. And more of Ah, warning of what's to come for them. I don't think that I don't think that That That point is really coming where they fall off a cliff. Yeah, I think the other thing with Denver is Strength of schedule and I don't know that it's quite as drastic as it was kind of some of the things we talked about with the Bucks, but there was a lot of At least in terms of what we've seen in in in the most recent years. There was a lot of roster turnover. There, too, were especially with second unit. It's almost entirely different. And just as we had kind of caution, look 50% of the Bucks roster is new, so it's going to take some some time to get used to each other, and it's going to take time for the existing players to get used to the new players. It's gonna take time for the new players to get used to the system. Denver's kind of going through the same thing, whereas Utah. I mean, I don't think we can look past the fact either. That This is basically the same team that there hasn't been a whole lot of change. And it's now year number of Jeez, What is this? Your number seven or six under Quin Snyder already that There's you know, Ben, that nucleus that's been in place and play together for quite a while. And and weird years like this where you don't have a long training camp. You basically don't have a training camp it all you have half the preseason that you typically do. Just the amount of awkward things that are being thrown your way throughout the season. That is a huge benefit to say. Yeah, we're basically running back the same team. I mean, the biggest changes we have Derrick favors back, but we had him two or three years ago. Right? He is. This is I believe his 10th year with the jazz and, Yeah, you mentioned a 22 in the in the Jazz is media guy. They list like all the years, you know, Here's our all time career stats that Derrick favors is in the top 10 and like every category for Yeah, I mean, they were they were as well suited As any team in the league to be toe have early season success this year, Because of all the things you mentioned, they there isn't much new to integrate for them. And They weren't going to do much in the way of like changing schemes, their game plans or even tweaks. The biggest change they made from last season of this season is hey, shoot better, and they've done it. It's and they've killed and so you know, defensively, they're doing everything that they used to do. They don't have much in the way of perimeter defenders at least not size wise. What they do with the job of funneling everything to Rudy. Go, Baron. He's incredible. And then offensively, it's Rudy Go. Baird has some gravity and he does sink a little bit.
