"Away. I this A sidebar? Nico LaHood and I have to mention the, uh, love Red Norton Law group. Are you guys back into the courthouse and we're back in trial? Yeah, we're actually back in trial. So we were. We were in trial. Not this last week, the week before. I think I mentioned that last week briefly. We're set for trial This last week were separate trial next week. And so this truck we knew this avalanche is coming, but we We have a great staff. The lawyers I work with or amazing lawyers. They were with me in the D A s office. When I was a district attorney. They were all prosecutors together, and now we're all defense attorneys. So we believe that's the very unique one of the very unique amongst others characteristics. We have that we bless Our clients with because we have that perspective. We prosecuted at the highest level, and now we defend at the highest level, Nico, even though you just yelled at me off the air, I define yell. Okay for doing Microaggression. I have to say that anybody didn't need on your thinkers. Anybody sees that that bond between you guys that were Prosecutors and now you are, you know, Try a lawyer's together. I mean, that is a huge strength. And I'm I'm being nice to you. Even though you weren't that night. Yeah, No, no, I mean, absolutely it is it is because we understand what a prosecutorial mind things like and how to prove a case up from the prosecution is so incredible. Always tell people prosecutors are trying to build a house. A defense attorney is kind of a demos courts. We have different both. But it's important to know what the other side is thinking and how to actually construct the case. So you know exactly what to look like to see what's missing. So we do that and we do what we roundtable cases. We worked very hard as a group on it. So whenever someone's case comes into our firm We Everyone gets their hands and eyes on it, and we end up round table and then two of us to the five. Try a case at a time. One of the big things that you always talk about his critical thinking. And if people just say Okay, let's look at the facts and know what's going on. We can get to the truth. But when I see that word critical, and it's put with critical race theory I get kind of confused because I don't know what that means. Exactly. But this week, Governor De Santis, Florida's governor, delivered remarks to the state Board of Education to talk about the importance Of maintaining the integrity of Florida's academic standards by keeping critical race theory out of the classroom. How significant is that? Huge Because now the kids are not going to be taught. About to think racist or to think there's something wrong with them. If they happen to be white or things of this nature, George and I have have dissected and we've talked about critical race theory. Not only on this show a number of times, but on on the podcast Thursday nights on our rate of Christianity. If it's that important critical race theory is not only deceptive. It's in my humble opinion, demonic and it divides people. It's divisive, and that's why parents rightfully so and that Video. We're talking about the one viral rightfully so is speaking out against it and really exposing it for what it truly is, and it's It's nothing that our kids should be taught. I was reading some of the statements on said Why some people you know supported Having it out, and they seem so simple. But when you hear critical race theory, and you don't know what it's about you you are not prepared to have the ammunition to say why it's not good, and one of them was teachers. Should teach the students how to think not what to think. Right? And that seems so simple. But why? Why, then, is it there is the strong push to have it happen. Well, we We understand this agenda moving forward that this country is a horrible country that is from his foundation. It's racist. I mean that that's just not true that we so that we have systemic racism still in this I mean, if critical race theories taught everywhere, then we will have systemic racism again. I mean, at some point rate, George Yeah, That's exactly right. I was going to point out this isn't this isn't new. I mean, critical theory has been around Nick and I have We had a seminar about a month ago. That kind of elaborated on the roots of all this stuff, but critical theories around for about 100 years. Um, but critical race theory in the country, and it's the reason it's it's kind of hit the radar in full force Recently. It's because in the aftermath of an essay that we've touched on this show that was written last year in a Sept September October time frame called the 16 19 project, sort of 16 19 S A. It was an essay that was written by Nicole Hannah Jones and New York Times Magazine. And it basically was sort of a project in revising American history that basically flipped the American exceptionalism story on its on its head. And so that America is actually not that exceptional. Every you know the slavery was common in America was not exceptional, either. And slavery too. And it basically said that we are we're not exceptional. Um at all. And that anything that we've been that we've been able to achieve as a country was strictly because of slavery and then and then the coast, you know, in a critical oyster kind of takes off from that this essay spread like wildfire throughout the country schools began to adopt it. Political action committees began to tout It left wing political action committees, of course, and then this is where critical race theory comes in. Because this is now a philosophy. That took sort of the guts of that essay. And is now becoming part of curricula across the country, and it's and it's an ideology that Presupposes That racism is embedded within American society, right And so you know, and and in others texts on it called D centering whiteness at home, for instance, that teaches kids Kind of white kids in particular to look look at themselves as sort of implicitly biased. They're born racist, no matter what to take active steps to address that racism, and it's this perpetual thing. That you can never overcome. And they're encouraged to go home and view their white parents as racist as well, to engage in conversations that are really guilt ridden, Um and so you can see what's going on here. And how in the world this does not contribute to division in America is beyond me. And it seems to me this is what this antis is addressed. And we talked about this on the show before and there's characteristics to this and the five characteristics I think in general, just kind of summarized. What critical race theories is everything that melon in is your master, right? Forget about what Martin Luther King said that the content of your character should be controlled. But it's your skin. If your skin color is your master Melanie's your master. That's why if you hear me, my vernacular has changed over time. I don't say black people, I say people who are black. I don't say white people are trying to best to say a person who's white or a person who is Hispanic or Brown or whatever. I try to put the descriptive after the subject. Now we're not trained to do that wave and we've all said, Hey, we with our Hispanic male, we saw a black male. We saw white female or whatever it is, And we do the descriptors in front of and I get that were trained that way. But then that becomes the identity and the identity is who you are as a person in the content of your character. And then oh, you happen to be I happen to be brown or of Lebanese Mexican descent. Number two in critical race. Racism is everywhere as Georgia said Karen kicking, You can't even it's destroying everything. And then you can't say anything against that. Number Three dialogue is evil. Listen to this so free speech. This is an attack on the assault on the Constitution. If you talk about it, then then if you're trying to discuss this, then that's not good..

Receivers to Target in the Late Rounds of your Dynasty Rookie Draft - burst 05

"Was drafted another god. I'm fairly high on From clemson at cal. I'll let you discuss him. I think about what rogers. I'm not nearly as high on rogers as they consis I think a lot of people saw him when he went to green bay. I think everybody's been so ready for the green bay packers to have another wide receiver inserted in the draft. You know and we're just intimidating in anticipating but you know. I really don't think amari rogers profiles is the number two wide receiver in the fact. That rogers is a situation is so up in the air to say the the to say the least you know. I am not projecting broader. You're gonna be there long term and if that's the case you know is jordan love gonna be all support a wide receiver you know. Are we even sure that amari rogers is better than allen. Lazard now is dead fund as the guy that they went out and got in free agency it to be the number to receiver going into last year before he opted out. You know he's back on the roster as well and he's only twenty seven years old. I think people are really forgetting about devin. Funchess to be honest with you You know this is a guy that has already been a top twenty wide receiver in his career. So i think there's a lot more competition in green bay than a lot of people are are are getting Giving them credit for and The roger situation really makes me uneasy. Amaury writers has some talent. I i just don't think he's anything special. I just think that he's at best a middle level starter of the nfl. And i don't see much of a window of him being much higher especially as long as davante adams is on that team. 'cause i just don't see that the target share i mean it's a. It's a team that clearly wants to run the ball as much as possible. So i'm not nearly as how marta riders. I i know a lot of people are people are taking them in mid second rounds now and i think that that's a mistake. I think he was the best of water. She would come out clemson for the tape stuff that i watch. Those are good points. There's a reason as to why. I say fairly high. It's because i have a lot of the same reservation that you do. But and i do. I'm generally concerned about aaron rodgers in the future in green bay with the quarterback situation. But i have to look back at amari rogers talent and what he did in his last year and clemson and what he did was ball out in my opinion. Seventy seven receptions. Thousand twenty yards seven touchdowns. Yes he had. Trevor lawrence thong him. The ball but still in a shortened season are very impressive. Numbers and amari. Rogers is a guy that has pretty much been undervalued this entire process and now all of a sudden he's going green bay people hiding him and i'm not high on him because he's going to green by on more high in him because of the talent and the potential that i see and i do think that he has the potential to be the number two receiver in green bay S a good gig. Because even if aaron rodgers is not there in a long term disturbance excellence head coach matt floor and they still have a quarterback enjoy jordan love and we really don't we haven't seen much from during love so we can't make a lot of assumptions. But he was still you still first round pick in an quarterback the has a lot of potential people were comparing him to patrick mahomes and he. He was more of a quarterback they just needed to be developed. So i think that. I think that there's a good chance that jordan love could turn into a successful quarterback if the packers ended up do and not Having rogers under center. So i think the during the love isn't a terrible option there and lathered and function function all could be a lot number two receiver in that office. But i think long term that amari. Rogers is the better prospect for may so that is why i tend to be a little bit higher on the mar bader's

"Nico LaHood. Nico, Are you feeling okay? This morning? No parents all over the place, man. It's the end of the school year. I am trying. I have twins. I'm alone. I'm trying to get all of them. Organized with their graduation and awards ceremonies and find them a dorm to go to college. And you're gonna be a empty nester solo empty necklace. I mean, yes, I am. We'll be sure to pray for you free leave. It's free and it works. So And it is. You know, I haven't even had a chance to get a glass of wine in the last couple of weeks. And I'm sure you'll make up for lost time. Just be home. Stay home. When you do it. Would you stop so and I know you guys are back in the courtroom because I saw Patrick on television yesterday and a tree s so you guys are back at it. Well, the courts are back open that with the trials haven't started yet, but they're gonna be starting and then it's going to be a kind of Very easy. Slow into. It's not like all 10 district courts are going to be going having trials the same time the misdemeanor courts are gonna come in. There's times where you just have potential veneer. Jury members people in the in the hallways and you're trying to get to court. According to these lines of people going to the different courtrooms, that's that's not gonna be like that. I wish it would be, but it's not. So it's but I'm just glad that things are going in that direction. They should have a long, long time ago on that, in the evidence that George and I have an advocate and other people, too. It's not just George and I, but other people have been advocating are I think are showing to have been true that this should have happened a long time ago, and we're seeing some Some good stuff. That is one of the topics we're gonna fully cover. And George brought to my attention that there was a brand new analysis. Some research that was done that concluded there was like the zero evidence that Texas opening up Affected the rate of new covert cases, so obviously getting back to what they call normal. Is felt she has good figure. Dr. Fauci has no explanation for it. So it's okay when he didn't know what the hell's going on. Which happens a lot. Don't wear a mask. Wear a mask for mass body condom. Cover this. Don't leave your house. Don't kiss grandma. I mean, he's all over the place. The guy's never. I don't know if he's ever been accurate. You know, and he has no explanation as he stumbles through and which doesn't get in the air time, by the way, when when he shows his incompetence and you know, that's why there's no he has no explanation. How about you know people? And what is it a 30% of Texans or was a 30 or 35% of Texans are vaccinated, which, you know, in my opinion about the vaccine, but we'll talk about it today, but Raises, so it's not like it's not even like the majority. But yet still here we are with something called an immune system. That's right. That's it. I'm kind of crazy how it's working, right? Yes. And you say that that got no air time about? Oh, my gosh, We have no something else that got no air time that I definitely want to talk about is Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, announcing that she's going to grant one on one interviews. Mark the two year anniversary of her inauguration, but only two journalists of color. Yes, she let me right. She's a racist. They should say it that way. There's no question that is an absolutely racist position. And there's you can't sugarcoat that. What? So so you're going to use color someone's skin on on on giving a new interview. You're in public office, lady. You're not. You're not a mayor for brown. People are black people or white people or people that happen to be white or black or happen to be brown or agent. You're the mayor of that area of that region. And if you're only going to ask for certain votes and ask for certain votes, and hopefully she gets voted out. She's ridiculous. She's shown to be ridiculous. In the past. Her logic is not there. She is theological. She's contradictory because she she violates her own rules. And she got her hair cut, but nobody could leave their house. And she needs another hairdresser, by the way, but I mean, there's a lot of things going on there with that lady. She's just I mean, I her mindset. See what I mean? By say, ideas have consequences that she's She's really a using this word in a good way. Perfect example of that. That that statement that ideas have consequences, but it don't know if you go back and see what she wrote to the media bureau. There. They need to dissect what's going on there and that she is Commemorating her two year anniversary is Mayor. On DAT because of her quote, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and people need to understand that those air buzzwords for Marxist ideology. In society. We see it all over. Universities are diversity, equity and concluding assurance conclusion to part that's exactly right. And you gonna see start seeing more in churches? Unfortunately, Diversity equity in conclusion, Inclusion is code for actually the exact opposite. Now she calls herself a committed person to diversity and inclusion. And yet what she's doing is exactly the opposite. Diversity can't just be carrying a function of skin color. Right. She makes the argument that there's evidence of institutional racism in media but doesn't provide evidence for that. And so assumes that if you have more white reporters, for instance, in a burrow that the reason for that is because of institutional racism, completely discounting the fact that human beings make their own choices professionally and that human beings have different skills. So that goes that goes back to what I was saying before the commercial break. So many things are being brought before us. The American people? Yes. Who in the past were Americans because we have the right, you know, to think what we want to express our views to have an opinion and now The things that are brought before us. Are condemned because they are our opinion. And you say, you know, there's liberals and conservatives. And But these air American views is what I keep thinking. What in the name of diversity? See, that's the scam here. Whenever they're making a claim. They're actually the conduct is actually and pathetic ALS to the claim. Where's the diversity? She said that the standard is cities like Chicago City's leadership is the standard for diversity and that the media should learn from that. Well, let's just step back for a second. There are 50 councilman in Chicago. They're called Alderman over there a menu so there's 50 aldermen and the overwhelming majority are people of color. And guess how many Republicans are on the City Council of Chicago. Zero. So where is the commitment to diversity in the city leadership? We have 46 Democrats and four independence, virtually all of them all the time Vote Democrat. So where's the diversity and ideology? It's all about skin color. It's meaningless. Everybody is stuck in a giant echo chamber in Chicago. And guess what policy wise. It's not worrying. She has a lot more important things to be worried about. The lack of diversity in the media, including the House. It work people that have died that have been slaughtered in Chicago about what she's doing nothing to Chicago and look at the results..

"So this is a little bit different from what we normally do. Obviously because it's our history content based on that's talking about either an artist or movement or a building designer jeweler. You know something within the context of our history but also think is really important. That when i was going through my journey i didn't really knew anybody who to kind of want to turn to or to turn to roller on high. People can't have get were the are at the moment. And that's quite an interesting story because everybody comes the artwork Definitely or the creative industries differently. And i think i mean. We grew up in the same house. We're very creative. People and we both love art but in very very different in the skill year where both highways victims yay are totally totally. So the first question as for you personally nickel when you think back. Miami Beach Extends Emergency Curfew as Police and Partiers Clash

"For the right to party. Miami Beach is extending a state of emergency and curfew. Police clashed with partiers over the weekend after hundreds defied emergency restrictions. Veronica's out ago via of member station W. L. Lauren in Miami joins us Good morning. Hi. Good morning, Steve. What went wrong? Well. The city of Miami Beach depends heavily on its hospitality industry as a lifeline, and the pandemic has hit tourism heart, so the city had hoped to strike a balance between welcoming tourists and keeping people safe. But city officials say they didn't expect this huge amount of people who came there blaming cheap flights, and over the last few days, crowds really swelled. The city's police chief said that at least one gun was fired. Police also fired pepper balls to break up a crowd after the curfew was said, and a very popular party venue on Ocean Drive announced it was temporarily shutting down to protect patrons and staff and that really rattled people. Officials say arrests are up, and the police department says it's arrested 1000 people since February, and officers are confiscating weapons and drugs. Well, how are people who traveled to Miami Beach for spring break responding to all these demands for restrictions and police on the streets? I've been hearing a mix of reactions. Some say they understand the need for the curfew. But Christina Thomas, a college student, said she had heard that Miami has a fun reputation and good weather. She flew in from Indiana, and she thinks the police overreacted. I didn't think That it calls for all that, because really, everybody was just having a good time. Like they weren't breaking into things. They weren't like fighting or anything like that. So that was kind of a bummer. Another visitor. I spoke to didn't come for spring break, but says the curfew left her without anything to eat or do so. She was thinking of going to Fort Lauderdale because that city does not have a curfew. Oh, good point because this is being managed city by city if it all the state governor, Rhonda Santis has been lifting statewide restrictions and said Florida Is open for business to officials in Miami Beach regret that You know some, like Mayor Dan Gilbert. I wish that they had more teeth to ask people to comply with rules. But, um, you know, it does. Please people who come here from cold weather polices, and they like that things are pretty open here. I spoke to a local couple who live in Miami Beach. And they say that the governor is actually partly to blame for these crowds. There. He has been arable Bishop and Nico Bishop. I think him saying this is open and everybody can come to Florida. No, that didn't help him coming on Friday night. They made love a very insists on ocean Drive. Come over here and see. If you agree with this They say the police presence is unsettling for them, but so the curfew just makes them feel safer. So I'm thinking about the calendar here. We're still in March. Colleges don't all have spring break the same week. There must be more of this to come. What happens next? That's right. So this city agreed that they can extend this curfew for it at least three weeks, and they will be limiting street and highway access to the area and restricting restaurants to delivery only after the curfew. But Steve this has also highlighted racial tensions. Ah, lot of people who came are black and black leaders are saying Police force was unnecessary. Mayor Dan Gelber says they were just targeting conduct and it was about trying to keep the streets safe for everyone. Veronica's Atago via of member station W. L. R and in

When spacex launched a record one hundred and forty-three satellites on a single rocket. The latest mission set another sixty styling broadband telecommunications satellites into orbit bringing the total number two somewhere around nine hundred fifty five the mission was flown from space launch complex thirty nine at the cape canaveral space for station florida three to one zero one important number nine successfully lifting off truth nominal from had thirty nine. Am kennedy space center carrying a stack of starling. Satellites took orbit and we are throttling down the vehicle The engines in preparation for max q or maximum aerodynamic pressure this is the largest structure that the vehicle seize on a sense slowing down the vehicle helps us pass through the short period that call out that we've passed through mask max q now in about a minute. We'll have three events happening. That'll be main engine. Cutoff or what we call meco stage separation and one which is second engine. Start one now. Meco is where we shut down all nine of those m wendy engines on the first stage to slow the vehicle down in preparation for state separation. And that's where the first stage separates from the second stage for stage. we'll start making. Its way i start making. Its way back to earth for landing while second-stage continues on its journey with the third event. Which is one for second engine. Start one and that's where we light up the end beck engine and it propels the second stage along with these starling satellites to orbit. We're just about fifteen seconds away from those three events nico stage. Separation and at one stage separation confirmed and condition and waiting on farrington. Play coming up here shortly. Twistzz to FaZe, Kjaerbye's Future

"I know we've talked about care be a little bit on the show before through different roster changes and when he went on to face because he hasn't been on phase very long i think he joined in what august of last year. It was yeah. It was august last year. Not entirely too young long. Especially when you think of a player break was in between that too. So i mean almost unfortunate for him in the sense of had it not been twist he would probably still beyond phase but again twist is one of those players. Where if they are. If are free agent. You go for it like regardless of if you're covered that's why when we had ryan on the show from rush be media. He brought up g to and like well gee to seems to be kind of trending upwards and he's like yeah but it's twist like you doesn't matter where you're trending like any team is going to look at him and say hey we'll it fit so unfortunate for making fit make workout care be is an interesting case to me because on paper. He's washed up like he. He was game. Stop stock two days ago last week. Everyone wanted him everyone. He was the hot. The cat's meow. The bee's knees we're talking former major. Mvp he was the mvp for the atlanta illeg major in twenty seventeen and that was like when he was eighteen years old. He's only twenty two. And if you're looking at it you're like what happened like where's khirbet from twenty seventeen when he was on astrology. Was that just being on astrologers. Because now he's gone from astrologist to north to now phase two now inactive. And it's like bro. i'm. I'm getting worried for the public perception of kirby ever since moved to north. He's never made the top twenty less. He made the two years previously on astrologists It's he's in a tough spot. Because like i didn't think they would actually drop him like they had another option right like rain could have been the player dropping. I think rain is also like pretty heavily invested in phase. At this point you know Look look think of snoot you got you got fired from your job when there was a temp working there. No but they were looking at the like. That's why i really believe that carrigan move is happening. I think they're playing chess in this situation. They'd make that switch. And maybe it's a role issue here of what they would both be playing. And maybe you put the writing on the wall if it's like. Hey marcus Kb you're going to be moving positions and we're gonna accommodate twist in every way possible and this is what he's gonna play like. I think they're just playing one step ahead in rather have all lost stand in. Keep the team mean. That's the only thing that makes sense. Because why would you drop a player. Whether or not the i mean. He's been on there since august with a player breaks. I think it's almost too early to even say his performance has been poor because like i mean although if you look on. Ltv look back from the last year on his end. I think is like eighty are has averaged around sixty seven it's rating rating. Since he's been with them. Do you know. I mean i look at the last year and i think it was i. I can look up here real quick but it was like below one not good you know. Yeah i mean like you. Yeah i mean obviously you want to be. He's only been on face since august. So i also have been playing with that standing right right plates matches with all off now and so. It's not like that t the team just hasn't been in a good spot. Ultimately this could be a good thing for him once he probably a better suited roster for him. Know sucks any time you get dropped but yeah he. He's an incredibly unusual spot. But i think you'll landed team you know if you're thinking that he wouldn't get a team that that's definitely not the a team. It's just when you think a former mvp for a major top twenty twice right. Top fifteen wants only twenty two years old. That's the crazy thing. Twenty two like he peaked so fast at eighteen. I mean yeah. He came in as a rookie essentially and did what he did and so excited to see where he goes. The thing is i don't think he's washed up. I think outside of the age thing. There's still a lot of talent there like eight months ago. He'd like you said you just got signed by phase one of the considered the best teams in the world in you're telling me that much time it's diminished when half the time they've been playing with the standard the other half of the time the teams around aren't playing well either so you can't put that on him you know nico runs away from the team in the middle of their transition of him trying to get accustomed to what's going on and you lose that type of player on that team you know morales going to start to dip so know and also his situation with north wasn't always the healthiest right like ms l. was constantly on the hot seat for like two years. Felt like and that team would do well in the tournament and then might the next three they would not even get place top aide or something like they had some really rough outings but they had some success there so he hasn't found consistency since he's left. Astrologers who has like if you're not on strollers who's consistent you know there's very few teams liquid is one of the few that you could think has shown a lot of consistency at times and then now recently obviously it hasn't been so much but He's he was on an amazing team. He was able to shine on that team. Now it looks like he's trying to find his way. He's having those some of those rookie bums not coming out now but like he's learning to be different environments in. They're still a good chance that we see him have a successful year. It's just got to be the right

"1200. W Oh, yeah, This is sidebar with Nico LaHood and Georgia Rouge's Oh, what's What guy? What? Stop being so bad. What are you talking about? Um, I think we're all a little bit punchy. Because of the events of the week. You're here. My designated drinkers, Karen. Thank you. Very really meant to say, I know. Thank you very much. Should I give you all the big intros or should we just jump right in everyone? Did you hear the bus? Well, I'm telling you, just if you can believe it, and George, you mentioned this in just the last couple of days. Joe Biden has begun to undo unravel of any of the plans accomplishments that the former President Donald Trump had to put America first. And I think that we always have to go back to the fact that there it really is. Half of the people that voted provided by men half that voted, so that's what's causing this big divide because the people that voted for President Trump Last time in this time are still out there. And so all of this unraveling, I think it's making one a lot of people afraid and to a lot of people. With a big question mark above their head. What's happening to America? Think it's unfortunate, you know, as someone you know when you take office and you take office after a predecessor, if you truly care about the people that you're serving And your constituents and you're truly a public servant. You keep in place. Whatever your predecessor had in place that benefited the people that you're supposed to be serving. It's not. I just want to undo everything, you dicks. I want to do everything that's that You're making it about you or about agenda about something other than The people that you're serving. I always believe, you know, give honor to whom honor is due is Romans 13. And so I have no problem acknowledging When somebody else does something well, whether I like them or not. My predecessor. Anybody else I'm going to give honor. I'm going to give praise acknowledgment. When it when it's deserved period end of story, And if somebody deserves that criticism, and hopefully it's based off logic and reason and some type of moral compass and principles within you, you hold them accountable, but But you had this message this speech. From President Biden. And everybody should call him President Biden whether you believe it's all of our present president, the president, you can believe in the process. You can believe there was whatever that's fine. You're you're entitled to believe that but he is writing has been sworn in and he's the president and we should as a people. Regardless, especially people of faith should be praying for him. We should pray for his success. We should pray for his blessings for his protection. The fact that he did that that if you don't believe in his ideology or what he's trying to accomplish. That if you're a Christian, that God changes his heart. It's happened over and over again, George and I just thought on that on Thursday we're talking about you know that the king can repent. And when the people repent the king will. It was none of it's right. We're talking about Jonah and other things. So you should be praying for for President Biden, but he took he really gave up. I mean, I didn't watch it all. I didn't watch any of the inauguration, but I saw some of his speech. It was actually on paper. It was a good speech, right and good enough. It talked about unifying all this and it's all rhetoric. But is it rhetoric or was it meant And then when you look at his actions to your point, Karen Based off the unify, unify, unified But then the underlying theme was unified. As long as you do things my way that's not exactly community necessarily, very gracious person. I am substantially less gracious. I did not. I was not impressed by the speech. I thought it was much ado about nothing in terms of a lot of words. But it didn't really say anything. I am I agree with you. I think that that's how I would. The words sounded good. Sure, but that's all I'm saying. And then you say they had substance behind them. I don't know. Well, sure, Short of saying Trump's and ass and in saying it literally fruit 45 times in a row. Yeah, it was a productive speech. A real improvement over the last month, I would say, um, I don't. I gotta I gotta be. Gotta tell you this idea of unity concerns me because we've seen what they've But the party's been doing or last 2 to 3 weeks. Nico. What does that mean? You know, Unity doesn't mean that you slander your opponents. It doesn't mean that you censor your opponents that that you support efforts to stifle the speech of your opponents. And so we know that there's a socialistic mindset here and we know what unity means and socialistic circles. In other words, you lose your individuality and you become a group. Think society member, The bigger the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen, And so this would have been a wonderful opportunity for President Biden to say Hey, and by the way, Big tech I know you're listening. Don't censor people. This is the United States of America. And whether we agree or disagree with them, let them have their voice. They're entitled to free thought free speech and do not sense And we do not support that because there's no way we can unify under my way or the highway type situations. That's ultimately what is The underlying message I want to. I want to give the rope, so to speak for the ideology to hang itself, and I always get deeper than the individual. It's about the ideology behind the individual. Because, remember, we talked about this before. George, You're never voting for a person. You're truly voting for the ideology behind the person and you're only decision is does that person hold up the ideology that you claim to support? And so I want a fresh start in the sense that we already have history with this guy, But I mean and and the party, unfortunately and say, Hey, look. Okay, Here it is. This is your show. Here's your canvas. What are you gonna paint your butt?.

"Then i've been like what about this end table perfect. That's a perfect match. Andy and i are both just end abel's even though you can put together a kia stuff but neither of us are handy lately. I've been like. I have got alert. Some actual skills like. I need to be able to do stuff you know. What salaires are okay. You know what they are. I demolition to my own closet. He did demo his unclothed. I ain't i know he did. He did screw them. I feel like. I do know how to do the basics. Of course. I don't have to do like a drill at a screwdriver. But i'm just like i would just rather pay somebody to do the work you know. I had worked so hard for so many years to be at the financial level that i am currently am and let me just pay somebody to worry about that please is there something nico you and i are same age. There's some i'm trying to think is there. And i'm also kind of the same way and i'm wondering if there something about like our age range where we're like. Oh i i'm an adult. I pay my own bills all that kind of stuff. But still i don't know i don't. I didn't do my own laundry until like my parents are the laundry. I think my dad just didn't want he didn't trust me. My dad didn't trust me to do the laundry right. Because i know i know all the other skills like you know. I love to cook. I know how to cook. I how to do laundry. I i worked as a dresser for theater company so my job was actually to wash the costumes and fix them. So i'm good at and that other stuff other adulting. Seth like being handy is not really one of my skill sets but i also like because you know my job is so it's very busy and the our says are fluctuates. So much i could be on set for sixteen hours or two hours. I just had it changes weekly. It's just for me. I'm just like just pay somebody to worry about. Just i want to get to that place to and i just feel like especially in quarantine. Al- honey i can't stop looking at zillow. Can't stop looking at red fin. All i do now is like literally what i'm like. Good like need a private moment. I'm just saying what we have. What does it years before we end up by house always slide. Look at this. Look at this. It's twenty five million dollars cap nice to look after you start seriously looking and you're just look and look and look and you make offers and you get beat out and yada yada yada by the time you've finally closed you'll be thank god. Philip redfin effort. I i have not looked at zillow once since we bought our house. Not what the idea to you could be as you said like i'm out offered like someone can offer something more like i thought it was a first come first. Serve situation like if you name. Is there like submit your offers by thursday at noon and then you just sort of like you submit it and then they look at them and they'll be like okay. The highest bid was ex-. You are twenty four hours to like submit your best and final and then you just throw another number out there Auction we were like 'cause we had made an offer another home and we felt really confident about our offer and so we were actually just like this house is ours. Yeah picking out new. Kurt not packing up bitches. This house is ours and there were like you got outbid by one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Okay well we will continue our search they. this has been a lesson learned. It's yeah crazy. A friend of mine just bought a house and he said there were seventeen other offers and he had made five other offers prior to the pandemic has nothing for this market. That's what i thought. I thought it was gonna make things affordable. Ooh this could be our time off. I we're still very happy that we bought. We've been thinking about it. I was done paying rent. I think we're also done dealing with our over involved landlords as well yes and sharing walls with people because we weren't a duplex in it's a beautiful home and thank god. The people who live below us moved out before the pandemic so it's like jospin us but these floors they are paper thin and there were small children living beneath us and we hear them all hours of the dan to the morning. What is your three year old and screaming or the they'd be like playing basketball instruments. We go to bed going to bed. I said what. But i'm mike. Oh that would've been me. What is this when you moved in together is the place. Yeah so we moved in together about eight months after we we his place all the time anyway. Bold move we though that was but we really get all the sister sister. 'cause we were of a shit. Oh shit or get off the pot. Sorta thing is like we've been dating for eight months like i'm a bit younger than he is. But we're both like. I'm thirty two younger maturity. Though like we're at a very used all kids i a baby on the eighty home depot is a grown ass man. I i am like stone at noon playing zelda. That's breath of the wild ran yard. You're gonna it's been saving me. It saved me this entire this entire not. I don't mean the quality but the election season yet no same. Can i just say. I was done with a game. Like let me get the expansion pass. And then i can add that to the next game but then it just added it to my current game so now i have to like have all this stuff that i have to go through but i'm just out here stone out of my ass trying to kill white main line. Lima bove's but my thing. With because andy will play and he always use it. Can i play l. Do now because it's going to be he's gonna be. He's like like meaning like not like getting permission. But just like hey. Let's as the tv for an hour. I'm going to monopolize so like every time i come through his is making us and kills me about booking you gotta get hearts but the thing is with with the video games you know there was a point in the quarantine where we were like really sort of copy just both been in the house together together ever live or they were very serious. Coroners irs on and we were just like we were just sick of each other. And then he was. He got zelda inflamed playstation in in his bedroom switch. Yes or switch And i got. I got an xbox and set it up in the living room so there is like a couple of weeks wherever just like so i will. I'll see you for launch. And we were just both like playing video games and are separate rooms. Felt like time apart which we needed so yes yes fully fully i would. That's what you should get an xbox for the bedroom now something to do. Like i'm not i don't have like i'm playing boggle on my phone..

"Working out well for me. Did you know that every writers remember bennett i. I was transitioning in college until i miss out. On all the power and the prestige and the and the you know hanging out at the go whenever the lampoon. Because you weren't really in the lampoon yet. That's the real key lamb or hanging out with the alan dershowitz sweet. Where are you from originally zeke. I from edmond. Oklahoma oklahoma from several days going on there. When did you meet your first black person's. Actually as i like to tell me. Grow our next door. Neighbors and best family friends was the black family. Yeah and they like not only were. We neighbors my father's construction company and children our next door neighbors. Their construction company shared a building and the children were always like much wealthier than we were. They have pictures all of their home with like meeting reagan and like golfing with reagan. And so it's very wealthy conservative black family that live next door to me which was my primary exposure to black people until like ours eighteen which it skewed everything. That's amazing obsessed with the builders. We gotta get them on. They're older son was a big queen and would like pick me up from middle school and we would drive around like seeing show tunes together. It was magical the his experience with the first black down with all black. People are reagan loving like candice. Oh and make sense to you but it was great because they would you know. I was very blind to how race actually worked in america but it was very funny because they had the biggest house in the neighborhood and every year they had this giant eight foot. Black santa who was on this like rotating platform would rotate back and forth and they put it right and like the big glass entryway so that everyone would just see this big black. Santa live out rotating looking at them every christmas. Wow wow what someone tells you story and you're like any the spin off of a story told me because i i wanna know about globe and i'm like okay. Shelters are their own ecosystem using a family as a whole nother world. I'm honestly very stymied trying to figure them out. Really has left me a little flabbergasted. Because i'm like there's all in my mind. It's just like a family of like p. keaton it's reverse it's a reverse family ties in some way. Yeah yeah i me- nico okay. So we've got oklahoma and then nico when you are in high school right. You've got to oregon. Yes oh born and raised in. The philippines moved to oregon. When i was sixteen a week. Sixty hours a week before. Sophomore year of high school started so liberal. I moved to a new country and then a week later they were like god is school as oh god what are we doing. It was it was quite a it was. It was a really rough. Is this the like progress. Apart of oregon or the rest of it or the rest some oregon which oregon bless her heart. there are three liberal cities in oregon. And that's portland eugene and ashland and the rest of it is just kkk. a terrific. Just yeah it's it's it's it's it's hard. It was hard it was. I was the only filipino really in that high school. I think it was one other filipino. People didn't get what i was 'cause they thought i was chinese but had like spanish last name. They just were so confused. Yeah and also like. I was in the closet right when i moved and was go through the process of coming out and realizing that i was gay so it was. It was a rough one. My god gresham oregon edmonton oklahoma places. Just read about right about the made. I'm terrified to go places where they're not black people. If i had known the children were there it would have been situation. I would have been terrified but it would have been nice to see the black santa mean like to go in there and get a hot meal. I heard pennsylvania. Pennsylvania sounds like oregon because like the outside of like any of the large cities. It's just hate groups there was. We did in my temple. One saturday morning religious school we did the whole day talking about all the different hate groups in pennsylvania and allentown bethlehem and and harrisburg. It would tell you where not to go that just like okay. Jewish children break down the side of the road. The following down it was a map of pennsylvania and they had a jewish star on reading pittsburgh and philly and then the rest of it was just like little white with two is in and just like nope. Like a fire of white hoods. Oh god god poetry. Though i went to college in southern oregon and ashland and there was a city very near there called the white city and it was. I mean it told you what it was worrying this. This very very assist awake. Can i ask a question. I before i forget it zeke. When you were saying that like you were talking to your therapist about having to break down. All these walls do you mind. What was that process like for you. Because i'm trying to think of like how did you get to the point. Where like where you were saying like. I'm not connecting. i don't know all my defenses. Were up. I it's k- i'm gonna give you the cliff notes version right so i knew i was queer. Something growing up But didn't have like the the words articulated and the closest i had to like. Oh like i had a masculine identification was like seeing lesbians. When i was twelve i was like oh this. Seems like a sure. Offramp to Cargo shorts in football jerseys. And so i took it. Because it's all on you. And then i got to college and right. Everyone knew i was queer from a very young age bullied. Getty on a. I responded by just being meaner i just bully back harder and then people knew like to ignore me and to right so that's one then i put up like just always be aggressive in mean because people are going to be mean to you so you mean i am beaming better than they are and then i got to college and liberal massachusetts. Everything was going to be better. It wasn't a learned that i was transferred. Meant not all the people thought i was going to fit in with din into fitting in with them. Never really like felt confident being myself because no one ever i didn't i didn't know how to be myself. I always trying to fit in with other people I had a two year abusive relationship in college. That i had to leave school to and like almost get a restraining order to like get away from this person And when i transitioned in college it was like it was a long time ago. It was before people really knew the were transgender or knew that there were transgender men. Everyone thought oh look. They're transgender. Women who are sex workers went nop. The idea that you were transitioning into a masculine identity was not something. People understand and people will really weird about. It lost a lot of friends and my parents were also like we're not gonna sell any of your family or anyone back in oklahoma. We're going to sort of like you know. Hide you away on on the east coast. And then after i graduated and you'll all my documents in were ordering people like did not have trouble like reading my authentic gender know. I didn't know at the dr just like well. This is better than everybody knowing that. I'm trans so. I'm just gonna not tell anybody that i'm trans with no sort of like long term understanding of.

"Year's presidential election. As I am sure you've heard It's It's also also one one of of the the key key states states for for the the fracking fracking industry industry up up and and down down the the ballot. ballot. As As I'm I'm sure sure you you have have also also heard heard Fracking Fracking for for gas gas has has long long been been thought thought of of as as a a bridge to get us to wherever the cost of wind and solar Has made those renewables as cheap as gas and his marketplaces. Scott Song reports. A couple of new studies suggest that time may already be here. It just gets cheaper and cheaper to make solar panels and wind turbines, says analyst Marlene Metical at Deloitte. The actual cost of the components are declining, but also the efficiency. Of the technology is increasing, so the wind turbines are now becoming larger and larger, and as a result, solar and wind are now the cheapest ways to add power generation in most of the world, says a report from Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Another report from the investment bank, Lazard says building and maintaining the solar or wind farm costs as much as keeping an existing gas plant running, all of which threatens the market for natural gas. Nico Sappho said. The Center for Strategic and International Studies, says pressure's mounting for folks in the gas business. This may be an industry that could be shrinking in 10 15 20 years so How can I be sure that my project is the one that survives? So it puts you in that mindset rather than a mindset where everything is growing their space for everyone. A typical natural gas power plant last 20 years or so bye, then wind and solar will be thriving. So some gas plants will have to shut down early, predicts Sue Tierney at the analysis group consultancy. You would expect to see disclosure statements by companies that there will be much slower utilization rates or a truncated life that's being discussed in a lot of places. Because of that, Tierney thinks a lot of money invested in the natural gas business won't be made back. I'm Scott Tongue for

Is Niko Moving to G2?

"You know not a lot of people saw coming until it started surfacing just a few weeks ago. Right? It's not like people were talking about it but that would be phased Nico moving over to g to to join his cousin. This would be in place of onic G. Two has been. Struggling slightly at the start of Covid they were one of the teams that was on fire made it to three grand finals lost all three of them I believe but made it to. A three finals events, and then since then have have slipped off including just as past week carrot a dream Hack Open in so. You do have phase in the event also so they'll have to find a replacement for for Niko, but I think if you're a G. to definitely highlights mine my round one excitement I know we do have evil genius as well. You know they're playing against Oh gee I honestly expect them to win that match up like a feel like they. They should take that otherwise that's going to be bad look for NA early on that's probably the easiest one you have as an NFL team going in. One of the easier wants to go into you might want phase right that might be another easy match depending on who they fill it does happen. So you yeah, and here's the thing is like obviously it seems like it's going to happen if it's going to happen by the time, this episode even makes it out into the public. As far as if you listen to the podcast, not live I mean they're playing on the twenty. What's phases? First match? I think on the twenty ninth, the twenty nine. So in four days from recording. So I'm GonNa have to happen relatively soon if not, the moment we stop recording because that's how this works out. Yeah. All accounts and everything that we're reading and seeing online showing that it's Bound. To happen right. So I think that's an exciting for obviously and we've talked about it a little bit. Obviously this hurts face. If you're losing Niko I don't think. The the short in the short term I think this is GonNa hurt phase more right? Obviously if you're getting a player like Niko, you'd think that you're going to be better with G to but do you think for Nico this is going to to work out and still make a difference. Yes, because he's going to have to take a back seat a little bit, he's not going to be the the star player in the sense of name-wise the as Kenya's team. I think they still rely on him although he's not their best player anymore I. Think Kennedy is the leader of that team I don't think Nico. Burdened. Carried that burden well, of being the leader of phase. Two. Big reason why they went and got called Sarah Right like you very few people are bigger personalities in the scene other than Nico Right. I think cold would be one of those people at the time and whether it was communication, you know. cockiness whatever was going on there it didn't work I think going onto g to Nico is still going be. One of the if not the best players on the team, but he's going in as a player, his not going in the ideal. He's GonNa have a fantastic oppor. Covering Angles Forum. his playing with cousins. So you WanNa talk about excitement like if I gotta play. I'm thinking my favorite cousin in my head if I got to play professionally with him or work with him, even just a normal job like how happy that would make me like that would be really exciting because me and my my cousin or like very, very close you know in so. Assuming, they're really close Assume they are they both play counterstrike professionally you know they've got to assume they're credibly class. Yeah. That's going to be a really exciting thing for him like I, think you could see him elevate his game just because of the attitude in the team that he's walking into hunters been performing out of his mind This guy that. Has. Really. Carried in posted a one point ten rating basically the last three months he's just been playing really well. So I'm excited for the G. Tube Roster I think elevates them in the sense of thirty number eleven. I think we're talking like top-five consistently a for them lineup. So when I say elevated not saying Oh yeah. Now, their top ten, that's not much of a move that's all the does this was a bad move for Carlos because there's a lot of money probably being swapped around here but eventually. Team phases just coming off a a win right with the New York the I am your loss now lost. Yes But you know they recently one right now between that and their last win it's been a while but. I think like I said I think this will help to how much will it will the end results change in the sense of Nico ever winning a major that's still too early to tell obviously. I'm not a huge believer in it, but that's also because just I feel like Nicos time, on phase for me in my eyes was somewhat of a bust. If they went to the major in Boston and they've had so much hype from that. It's just they've never really panned out like you remember when this phase clean got together. I mean, they were supposed to be like the Taylor like they had every power team like this was supposed to be the Miami Heat. You Had Guardian you had all off you had nico you had carrigan like you had a star studded lineup. For that Boston Major Niko. Carried his weight during that time. I think we're really talking about you know now it's been a long time but the last year. He has fallen off right. So sometimes, it just takes like we saw that would screw doodle right now playing a different position but in the sense of like SC noodle had that dip, and then all of a sudden you kind of saw him rise back up in felt like it came out of nowhere before his his retirement of I think Nico is in a better position than that in the sense that still got a lot left in the tank 'cause he's still playing really long and he posted the third highest rating edge a dream hack open us at a one point two rating for the event. The I think this makes G to. A definitely, a contender going into the major

"Instead of being paid to glorify the church and nobility like so much of Europe, the art in the low countries was paid for by the wealth of the Protestant merchant class are guides are Nico Febrile who lives near Bruges in West Flanders and Jodi angles door than she lives in Harlem North Holland? Nicole Yoda. Thanks for being here. Thank you. Thank you for having us. So from your perspective as a guide in the Netherlands ca you see that divide in the art world? Well, of course, it's a lot about the culture of country and like you said, our culture is all about brought stations and we had thorough formation and that are really created a big difference between some art in other countries in us. So we have very basic churches. They're all stripped down from older statues but also are monster pieces re rarely. See. Any Christian. Seems but we always have the Merchan's and because we had a Dutch republic very soon after. Yeah. So that is of you. If you see a bread of his biblical theme, it'll be from the Bible but it won't be from some Pope or something like that. Yes. If you think about you, you mentioned the reformation you have a huge church on the main square in Harlem that was a Catholic Church and it was completely painted all the pillars were painted and everything now when you go in yeah. Washed away whitewashed. Yes. Whitewashed. Yeah So a reformation came we had iconoclast where all the distance took it down and the art was little gone, and how do you recognize what the Protestants really brought into the churches was music and that is how they really lived up churches. So in Harlem, you have this giant organ. which more than five thousand pipes you can still go in and listen to it every Thursday In the summer periods. Then you have a concert for free you can visit and you can hear his Oregon play you can just. How old's organised, we've come so a ten year old Mozart played in this. So it's a it's a very different experience and it's very beautiful. So maybe four or five hundred years ago it was Catholic and then you have the reformation it becomes Protestant partisans come in there and they were kind of sort of kind of mean her. Very extreme. Throughout. All the statues they busted lot of the windows they painted everything white and they put up this amazing organ that goes it's his tallest building. It goes way to the top of those arches. Wild, it is wild and that's something that when you know the story behind, it makes a little more sense when you have a good information, know every Thursday there's a free concert Nico when you think about the Great Dutch painters who comes to mind. Of course, he think about people like don't finance house to meet. My personal is Yon Stein. Johnston because he has these scenes of just people having fun at home and it's sometimes a bit double if what he wants to say with paintings. inning. Is it the warning that you shouldn't be so? Joyful maybe in life. Or they're just fun to watch because there is there's a lot of folk way stem. Yeah. It's like I'm like don't be wasteful or if you gossip things bad things will happen or there's all these little little lessons about life but not really preaching from the Church nobody you could interpret it that way and people could hang it in their houses and say, this is what we shouldn't be doing. Right but I look at them as okay. They're having fun to me. It's a little intimate look at life for hundred years ago or whenever he owns Dean was painting, but that's a good name to. Note Yawn Seen S. T. E. N. S. these when I go to a gallery in the Netherlands I, see a lot of small paintings by a lot of people whose names I don't know rather than a few big paintings by people who are superstars and highly paid, and you got to think it's a different sort of clientele. If you're painting a King or some bishop, you can paint something big and really expensive. But in the Netherlands when they got rid of the king and they got rid of the pope, they got to have the open market business people for their clientele and it needs to be affordable. So you have small appreciate art. Or. Not Actually N- definitely. But like you said it would be anonymous or from the same workshop or around that's what you would read. You see the values of the day there I, mean, above the dining room table, you might have a still life. Yes. Still lifes is not a personal favourite, but that's something that you will find a lot. Would you see in still life because of fruits, baskets, fish 'cause it's the Netherlands. So they would have a love of fish in there as well. Easy to catch

"Portel went from. Asia. To Art to case Depan the Spanish team. That's no movie star South season with an irregular heartbeat and not obviously caused great concern. He was given the all-clear to return to racing and he was a surprise signing for team sky when they launched in two, thousand, ten one or two Frenchmen that they signed perhaps with an eye on currying favour with Aso they were unproven team a new team. So and Nikolov Portal was one of the writers who perhaps could help open doors for them in France and I guess they could never imagine just how effective he would be doing. Three it was actually can the the the the link. was about the missing link but yeah that that's about it between. Team Sky and France I suppose when you think about the dynamics of a sports team Water the qualities that bring the best out in people, and it's almost a kind of. A desire to please and a desire to kind of get praise from the the person in charge and can totally imagine any as wanting to get a word of praise encouragement from portal or do something that you. Know had made him happy and Yeah. Probably an invaluable. Part of his personality would translate it to the way the whole team operated. Surprising signing as a writer for teams it was even more surprising when a year later he became a sports star. He was still only thirty or thirty one still very very young and younger than the writers on the team. It was young for him to stop racing and it was a very surprising appointment is interesting because I spoke to my wife about the day they were they were sort of peers both young the SS who hadn't been at the very highest level and they weren't champion writers were good professionals. And you know there are lot of claims made by portal at his success as either more successful sports, director threats, sports, even the history of cycling comparisons with someone like seal. It's worth saying that the job has changed completely on portal white are part of a new kind of sports. Sir where the job is is much narrower on more specialized, not less complicate because the technology and the tools that they have make a really complicated job. Their responsibilities are narrower than someone like zero game arts ceiling. Surrogate mother was more like a like a football manager was in charge of everything yet been a real champion justice. Level of Matt Twitter, you know pate in time that he might a relationship personal relationship, the relationship and the emotional relationship with his writers. But he was the father figure. I don't think you up or Matt White Ever for our father figure for they're they're more like maybe not made but at least unit the the age difference in not. So and I think one of the good things about both of them and a new generation is technology that they're they're I mean Nagoya Geek ill ill, he loved to speak about equipment to speak about new technology for was finding. It's funny interesting and it will tell you that and the. I think he's poked the same language as the writers. which is very important like in the old days look game out that you had. Did you know it was the voice of the past? You know an tradition that you had to live up to that, and whereas the a Nico was totally different from another background that road culture. So he brought new ideas, new fresh ideas and make things simple when they were complicated. I remember the year when guarantee Thomas won the tool. When we we spend the whole three weeks, you know wondering whether there's been there had been agreement between Thomas and from whether it was a rival in an internal rivalry between the two bottles tack to to his position that there was there was simple. Was No problem about it that they were maced right into the same team in the end stronger would win and it stuck to that and it was true. You know and and and you'd you believe him when when I other teams, the sort of speech doesn't go to well well. As I said it was a surprise when he's appointed support strikes service. Dave Braille is for the principal team sky who made that decision? Let's hear from him nine also Fron Miller the chief executive. Team. In the team Grenadier we'll hear from April first on Front Miller on Nikola portal. Nikko he was personable guy. He just gone with everybody equally e could be quite not Shabaab breed say what he thought was bridge to run with you. You know it's like very, very good mix. "Let's dive into this episode with the World Champ Himself Meco raw spor- welcome to the school grades. We've got the legend Nico in the House could see you man. Thank you for having me. We're in Austin Texas. We've been emailing back and forth for what three or four months now probably and I didn't even know who you were until a few friends said. Oh my gosh this Guy Nico talked about you. He talked about your book on his Youtube Channel and they freaked out and I was like okay. GotTa learn more about this guy. They're huge fans of Formula One which is only three people in America right. That's what is like one of the biggest globally huge everywhere everywhere except America and every time it's on I'm always like it's always late night. It's like a rerun or something on here but picking up here in the US right. Yeah as I mean. They're going for it because for the sport to be successful globally the US like such an important market and we have US owners now so they're doing everything to try and grow the sport in America. So we've got this race here in Austin Texas which is where we are at the moment sitting in this hotel Telera hotel. Whatever meeting room here so this is like one of the starts to try and go? Big In. America is important for big here in America because America's is the global powerhouse for anything and she wanted to be big. Whatever if it's a company or sports or whatever you have to conquer America we know that and everybody knows that so? That's whereas trying to do I think one of the most powerful ways would be serving American driver that we need to go. So how do we. How your skills you? You can jump from one sports in any sport you go for job too many sports. But I'm a big guy you're supposed to be small rice compact and inside. They've loosened the rules now when I was driving which is three years ago. Every gram of your body weight mattered but now because drivers went on hunger like went so extreme on diets and went to light and and really it starts to become a bit dangerous. They they kind of set a driver limit minimum. Now so even if you're a small guy you have to put lead weights to your seat what to bring it up to. What kind of weight really? So you have a chance. Because I'm two hundred to twenty five hundred twenty five. That's pushing it a little bit about forty pounds probably really so now. Is it true that there are half a billion fans worldwide is that is that what I heard. Yes so globally. Formula One is top three sports together together with the Olympics. Soccer is the most sport in the world in front of cricket in front of Credit. So it's absolutely massive. Why is it not big here? Why smashed national massive here? But no one I have no idea it used to be back in the sixties and Seventies. It used to be very very big and I think many of the older listeners will remember those days with Ferrari racing back in those days and all the all the legends of the time and then somehow the sport lost Lost connection to the US and now trying to build it up again. Okay okay is a part of your mission. I would like to support it if I kept me. But it's not really my main mission because I have other projects now but even going back so my father other was a former one world champion himself and he won on the parking lot in Vegas. That's one reason the Caesar's hotel parking way and he won the world championship VIP Parking Lot. You'd better get back. In those days. I find was massive still view that your dad influence you in a big way or you also just a fan of Formula One without Your Dad Ping the world champ. No certainly my dad influenced massively. Because as I was growing up. He was still racing not informed the one anymore. But in some touring cars like NASCAR'S A-. Aw and then growing up watching your father do that. which is the racing the adrenaline the crowds going mad? The battles and everything. I mean there was no other way than be inspired by that and so from very small just became my dream to become a racing driver myself and try and make that hobby into my into into my job as well but once you also world class tennis and other sports as well so my mom was pushing for tennis. My Dad was pushing for racing driving having because my my mom was dead. Scared about the racing driving so dangerous but then when I was ten I mean clearly I had better chance in racing driving and both were equally early funding for the racing driving. I think which was quite a good choice. Yeah so I'm assuming most of my audience doesn't know who you are. I'm just going to let you know. Yeah that's us so will give them some context about the process for those who don't know what the process of actually becoming a professional formula one driver. You started racing when you were four or five years old and go guards right and house the actual process go to get to where you were so everybody starts go karting and never started. Yeah everybody what if I was a twenty twenty year old man and I was like I want to get started in sport. It's very very rare. There's maybe one guy and nowadays no-one anymore but you're not go karting twenty. You're starting you're starting with the smaller. One Formula One GOTCHA. So he's starting go karting and I started when I was four as with tennis and golf. You have to start young I think to to really take the time to practice the skill and then you start racing. Go Karts at the age of ten and you start going for world championships at the age of twelve really go karting world championships world. Junior twelve year olds. Yeah and at the time that feels like the world championship of the universe like the most important thing and of course. You've got all the ice ice skating. Dad's I don't know if they're called big fights. I mean huge cheating find a way even at such a young age. Because there's so much at stake you know so and it's and it's the same in every sport it's just a just a bit of a crazy world. You know how how the parents are kind of living their passion through their child and are forcing their child and pushing their child so saw that which which is horrible which gave me a lot of life lessons as well for how I want to bring up my kids. I'm very very sensitive to making sure that I don't impose things just because I desire them on my kids right have audience is that as a parent. It's so difficult because the simplest things. Why am I pushing my child to walk at the age of eight months because I want to? I want people. People want to get people's recognition that my child is human and is the first child in the world to walk and I catch myself doing that. Wow and that's the same for every parent crave words. It's crazy it's completely crazy and it's all because of our own need for recognition. Wow and so that's just one example. I am because of these life lessons. And also the psychology and philosophy studies that have been through a kind of learned that awareness to be aware of all these things and understand and then and I can react differently more appropriately when I catch myself doing put the handbrake on now really then like Niko. That's just wrong. It's just not good or there's I think there's a away of wanting to accelerate your kids growth and give them the best tools to be successful but also like remove your ego from being like look at me. I'm the Super Dad Right. You're right right. It's a very difficult balance out. You don't have kids yet. Oh I don so this is all in front of you. I always buy new parents. Thought any of your self off development things were challenging this. This is the biggest biggest biggest challenge and school in the whole world. The hardest thing to get through the most wonderful things to get through. Imagine but it's It's incredible and I mean it's just. It's almost impossible to do it. Well Yeah it's so difficult now. Do you feel your dad. Gave you the tools But also distance his ego and his desires away from you of like you need to do this or was he supportive. Whatever dreams you had I'll just I'll just cover for maybe go to that so my dad. I think found very good balance because he got exactly what you said so he always showed that he expected me to do well in life and perform. He's workaholic himself completely. Like a madman in terms of in terms of work. Yeah I mean flat out. And so that's kind of his baseline I and so therefore he expected a lot of me as well as a kid whether it's school or go karting or everywhere which was not always easy to live up to that kind of expectation and because for him to be proud it felt like I needed to do all those things to extreme levels of professional and dedication and also not always easy but it really helped me push forward and grow my own like I'm vision and determination so it was a huge help and then he was very very smart because once I got to F one. We had a conversation and I told them as well that it just added a lot of pressure his his expectation on me so open conversation our room twenty when you got there. Yeah professional a twin and then he was very smart he completely pulled back because he's done it all before and if one so he has he knows is everything it would be so easy for him to. Just tell me how to do it so of course you had the urge to teach me everything. Show me everything helped me all the way but it just doesn't work like that can to help them because it's I can't even accept his help. It was just too hard to accept the opinion of Dad and as maybe maybe many of the listeners will well no how it is to follow the guidance from the parents. It's not always easy right. I wasn't as well back almost becoming rebellious and he said so Witnessing this let me pull back not rebellious. It was just difficult because of the extra pressure really that it added just created myself because of wanting recognition as as well from my parents and in this case from my dad when the world championship one Sir won the world championship once once you had this pressure of like always being compared to your father. I'm assuming also that yes growing up when the DAD has achieved something big of course especially if you go the same route everybody from the early age of like eight years old all the time every lap every stop watch taken is as good as is year useless Mike. That's all the all the way. How do you come that mentally? There's no magic ingredients. There's no magic ingredient. I mean you would say. Don't focus on results focus on doing the best. You can be processed. I know that but it's just so difficult to implement. So even knowing that you have everyone interviewing Yukon say about results. They don't care at all about how well you did for yourself and reaching your best potential. They don't care at all or no society doesn't care either. That makes it so hard at the same time though it was also a huge benefit to be the son of a successful that in the sport because of course then more sponsors are interested. And we'll help you even if one teams are more interested because you have a name and then coming back to the process so you started go carting until the age of fifteen and then you do formula four from a.
