When we're cooking, we don't open up all the doors to the trap. But this was just this was just a phantom fire. Yeah. Sorry about that. Mysterious. That's totally fine. And maybe it's just because this game, these games are hot. It's probably what it is. That's 'cause you guys are on fire. That's right. Nico. Yes. There's one more left and it's for you. Okay. Pepper leaf. Bad body works sent meal kit or still life. Bath and body works scent. It would make an interesting scent, but it is not it is a meal kit. It's an Australian meal kit service. Oh, people leave. If there was if there was a reason and a way that we could really show you that you just received all the points that are possible. Yeah. So I will just verbally tell you. You have received all the points. You've received all the points. Yes. Collector. It's all worth it for having that little snappy. We're so sorry. No, no, it's fine. Please. Thank you for coming back. You could have just been like, we're done. So our House is on fire. Exactly. Bye. Nico Santos sick Smith. Thank you so much. Thanks for having me. Thank you for having us. Nico stars and superstore Thursdays on NBC and Z appears in the documentary disclosure, streaming on Netflix. Our next two contestants are comedian Samantha ruddy and Luke moans. Welcome to ask me another. Hello. Hi. Hello to both of you. Now, Samantha by right, I think in April, I just saw this on your Instagram that in April you would move in with your girlfriend's employers basically she is a nanny and in order to allow her to keep working. You all moved in together. Yes, we did do that. That must have been a bit of a, I'm going to say a trip. That's correct. I actually, I love those kids so much. I have one of their artwork behind me. Oh, no way. Yeah, my Toby drew a picture of him, his brother and my girlfriend. That's really nice. And it's in your background. Yeah, his mom's a huge NPR fan, so. Nice. That's awesome. I asked Samantha to hang some of my artwork in 25. I said no. A Luke, you know, your girlfriend speaking of people that we are partnered up with. Your girlfriend was a former contestant. And I love this. Yes, a little in Paris. That's right. I think back in May or something like that. Yes, sometime in the haze of the past year. And she was on. Did she give you some pointers? Any tips, tips of the day? She said, she said, stay alert and she said. She said, stay alert, stay on your toes. I am more of a trivia person than her. I sort of do the trivia in the relationship and she is probably better at everything else. So. It's just so she said basically just go be you. Yeah. Yeah. I feel strong vibes. This is gonna be perfect for you. Yeah. I want to do some games. See what happens? Absolutely. Let's do it. Let's do it. Yes. Okay. So we have a word game for you. In this one, Jonathan and I are going to read sentences containing a bunch of different definitions for the same word, you just have to tell us the word. So if I said, I'm going to an elegant dance wearing a giant sphere shaped dress. You would answer. Ball, since a ball is an elegant dance, and a sphere. Right. You're gonna be competing against each other. Each other. Better at trivia and I'm much better at everything else. It's hard. Yeah. It's all gonna be great. Okay, Samantha, this first one's for you. Super super it's a nice easy slide into the first frame. All right. Officer, I swear, I don't know how the bottom of this tree and elephant trunk ended up in the butt of my car. I think I just totally said that wrong. Anyways, I'm gonna say it again. Don't listen to what I just said. Okay. I'll forget it. Erase it. Here we go. Samantha, officer, I swear I don't know how the bottom of this tree and elephant knows ended up in the butt of my car. Drunk. You were like, how many other words? I was so confused. I was so confused. I love it when I say this first was going to be easy and then I just hand you the answer. I was like, is it the answer in the question? We'll say a word, and then you say that word. That's the game. Figure out. Figure out what word in the question is the one we're thinking of. That's great. All right, Luke, here is one for you. Can't wait until the snow melts. I'm going to jump out of bed, push a slinky down the stairs and do a keg stand on a natural water source. A spring, spring, yes, that is correct. And I was personally because I purchased a slinky for my son, but it's made out of plastic. Oh, yeah. Perfect ones. Now, honestly, the next part was we have to get stairs. That's so funny. It's really a stairs toy. For your third birthday, a slinky for your fourth birthday, a second floor. Felt so dumb about that. All right, Samantha. Hard hitting question for you. Okay. It's hard to sit still on this seat without a back on it because I really need to go number two..

Then pterodactyl, then mammoth, then ice and more ice, the long walk, the centuries in the wilderness, the zigzag wonder than a valley, then a Lake, then the herd, the golden grain, a maze of aqueducts singing their blue song, then a city bigger than Rome, pyramids are God some people call a hummingbird, a hummingbird can not be a man, but man can learn to love a hummingbird, to go to war for a hummingbird. "Many of them who are practitioners who are clinical therapists. Some of which are considering giving up their licenses to Because of the restrictions around some of this stuff but the way it was described in that circle last night. Was you know when you say. Yes to this path of self and inquiry and healing. It's their the moment some of us experience where it's like you've come home to yourself. Get remembering of who you are. It's not like fig finding out who you are. It's it's more myself now than i've ever been an year kind of asking asked this question like who have i been all this time before. Then if i haven't been me and It's an interesting. It didn't seem to think about it is yeah. I think we've been really good actors for a long time. You know we we we sort of idealize the person on the screen you know. People acting famous athletes famous musicians. And not that. This is about thing you know. Some people are very talented. It's awesome to look up to them and have have idols in a sense. But what are we idolizing for you. Know is it just because they're famous just because they have a lot of wealth as just because they have a lot of fan base or is it because they're genuinely good person or himselves doing better things than humanity and there are people that fall into that category. That are famous. And look up to those folks. But i think when we idolize acting in in such a big sense hyper individualistic. Part at part of the e. Oh that wants to be mimi mimi. You know we keep feeding it and then we lose a sense of our soul which is our deep self right. The egos the surface of the deep self is the sole on. We lose such a big sense of that saw that. We're living someone else's life because we forget that we have a choice in this..

I could never have expected. And you don't know until you know until you have your own experience with it and it's only it's only amplified to the point that now as you know a practitioner of of breath work and facilitator of transformational experiences in stuff. Their clients that i see that Have faced extensive trauma and when we have like our brain has adapted to survive and oftentimes. It is deeply deeply hardwired and has hard wired conditioning..

"It takes courage to. I think to go there within yourself and a lot of emotional maturity to acknowledge You know your your role in that dynamic especially as a twenty year old guy. I mean most twenty-three-year-old guys. That i i knew when i was that age weren't participating in this type of discussion with other people much less themselves was. Where do you feel like you picked up your ability to be introspective in self like reflective. Is that something. That's been a while. Yeah i think it's been with me for a long. I mean. I remember even when i was nine years old city in my room alone really thinking about like existence and like i. It's it's interesting. But i will say that everyone i believe has the capacity for that thought and some people get lost in. I know when i was younger i would get so lost and sort of existential thought that i would feel very heavy most of the time you know. I lost the lightness of life. And that really dragged me down. Either through sport or throw academics. You know but i really. I think have my family to thank you for for all they are and are they all they. Aren't you know they have healthy. Qualities unhealthy qualities Grandfather grandmother mother. They really encouraged me to keep looking for answers. You know raised very religious catholic. But then i left that faith when i was i kind of got into middle school high school because i kept questioning it and they were they. Were really open to me. Reading books about buddhism or taoism or you know The koran or like any sort of religious texas. Because i was like searching for sort of more meaning you know and just christianity alone wasn't providing for me and so i was like humans have had all these things throughout yawns. We used to believe in multiple gods. We used to believe in no gaza. We were gods and then we just kept looking at all these things..

"Like andy warhol's crew people she'd be like. Oh i know the rolling stones. She'd build off each kind of networking situation. She did and from the very beginning. She wanted to be more than just a model like she was very very frustrated. She's modeling as a way out of germany and she saw as a way to do something else. But i don't think she ever the same time. She had that weird thing. I think it's very much a woman thing too. Is you want to do more but at the same time. You don't really know what that more is because you don't see other people doing it. Language hasn't been invented yet wasn't with her. Yeah important. Sean suggest well. It is is a marvelous book. I am a huge huge fan of nico and this book has been needed writing for years and years and years. I mean absolutely is someone who needs to have say that the wrong stuff righted recommended. Invite from all good bookshops now. Because i by the way i really enjoyed songs deliver play on the radio. The story of like the end of nikos crew which is usually sympathetic. And she's she's a difficult person. isn't she bought. Ultimately the the thinly-veiled manager is basically in love with her And we'll follow her anywhere. It's interesting because one of the people that i got to be quite good friends with james young. Who wrote that book. And i think it's an absolutely brilliant book because it really shows someone who is at that kind of end of their career and going back to kind of what would aim was saying just at the beginning of the show just those very complicated relationships that happen and i think that nico knew how to manipulate people for sure and sometimes that's what you have to do to get by began. That james young book is absolutely a brilliant book and he was very helpful giving interviews for my book for sure. what are the contemporary nicos aware. The echoes of nico in today's pop world. There is there's never been a nico before and there will never be a nico after and one hundred percent the thing is and i've said this before if nico made art because she had to make art and what i mean by that. She wasn't like. Let's my brand gonna be. I'm gonna wear all black and dye my hair. And i'm to wait. I'm gonna do this crazy thing like she'd had none of that like these were songs she had to make. You think about read nicos lyrics. This woman look was not her first language and she's using english in a way that conglo as a tool to get this crazy lyrics out in a way. that is just mindblowing. and honestly. don't think there's anyone e- you cannot be an artist in that same sort of way. Now it's just you camp is not encourage. It's all about get on the instagram. Like ullah's noah's creative people. Here on this podcast. What is your instagram so fluttering surely even would love to be like writing some writing for fun. You know you guys. Maybe want to be doing a podcast about yacht. Rock your favorite topic. But you think is you have to be doing the social media doing the peach. There's all these other things too and like meat is a different time of course but nico was making songs that were not commercial and what a beautiful name you know like i think there is no nico in terms of. Who's like that now. I mean you can point to tell like iggy and suzy and you know it was really great talking to dave navarro from jane's addiction. He's been wonderful very helpful to me But i don't think that people are encouraged to think like that. Be different. Like dot be truly. Just be be an make art because it's important to you finally broken versus keep on piling up. They're making more past every day. And this month is a twenty dollar serie. Roughly of a record. The probably did change everything. The strokes is debut. is this it. It came out on august twenty seventh two thousand one in the uk after peering earlier in the us and australia during an unprecedented of skinny truce and the insistent that hawes back back back. What do we think of it now. Was it full for god. Does it still stand up. And we'll ever be record with quite this effect ever again hair from the album is last night amos your first memory. The strokes molly first memories. The strokes as our mutual friend. Alex coming back from spice last where she were they'd played and kind of really kicking off and then she goes to new york a thing. That's all them like three told him at the mercury lounge on just rave about this modern. Agp had come out and he was just the cut folly in her all about how much she loved expanded. end dot. First ep chemo. And i think was just onboard. Street obviously never dressed like the strokes probably nudging thirty at the time. And that's ridiculous. But i really really loved it's I noticed a lot of kind. Of retrospect of ood bones studied and they were polish kids and all of that facility five minutes or or whatever however long the album as those eleven songs it was that was not onto found them. There wasn't an orange of foul on the album. I just think it was a brilliant brilliant statement completely retro but they were really exciting at a time when rock music wasn't exciting where you had awful people being on the cover of melody maker like fred touched on a regular basis on you just go. My god is this what we've become and I know done you've got issue of frederick's like the rest of his. I'd that's all right but i always think it's a brilliant album odds listening to again on. It really does stand up. I think it's just a brilliant mission statement The second album ramon fi was pretty good third album. First impressions of earth was all i on after that. I just lost interest. I think the the the the beauty and curse was that the only made it to say in those first thirty five minutes to the crazy thing about his actual it very virtually. I was both veteran. Ridiculously futuristic casablanca said. He wanted it to sound like a from the past that took a time trip into the future to make their record. You listen to it now. It's like it's like a three minute. Can you using the guitars. Percussion instruments rather instruments reputation reputation. And then some repetition and then eat the which puts things like the mad gets all solo in the middle of the modern age. You just really really tried to incredible relief and sounding amazingly excising yet but is it. The whole thing is i wouldn't lowy. They were were phenomenal. I remember. I sold them half an the drummer brooklyn his arms. That they have the rodeo. I think play drums on. We were walking in and Alex was on board from day. One she got tickets really early on. I think people were offered to buy tickets office for one hundred fifty quaid. I tell you have on on. We dislike obviously went inside. They were just phenomenal. And you genuinely failed that something was happening and it was of one of those. You cannot make this. This is this is gonna explode. It's going to be phenomenal. And people are going to lose their minds can have you as a rock and roll person. You could swept away while the strikes My everything i went to the same gigs at ayman's friend went to and i was working for interscope interscope at the time so i was having to go on the road with the wretched limp biscuit And corn and shit. Like that. And i lost. I lost all interest and hope in rock music. And i saw the strokes and i was like how fucking lilia and i went home. Obsessed obsessed obsessed that three three three song..

"Even ford you generally night shotty young person's indie. So what did you make villages who i presume. Not your kind of shotty persons indy. I don't dislike shoddy. I also like all people who ever made any reason apart from uta on the boomtown rafts. Worst bonds the has just. And i said stay on the record that the boomtown rats are actually doing you to your service by being the worst of all time. I like family. Jerry's villagers on this is obviously the big cut a jump the grasp of the brass ring. I think this is the big. This is as commercial as villagers are are going to be is going to be can you are. They is a plural or singular. I don't know my nas. yes I want to the pro knowing right for villagers all. I think that they're listening was very much. They had on rotation they hide granddaddy software slump. They had lamb chops. Nixon on the mercury wraps desert your songs on ellipoid the mechanism by think also because it kind of had that very kind of mead brass thing and it's kind of it's. He's big kind of epic songs. I think he played susan pentagon just before we started talking. Which is obviously i think. Six music's already hammer and that that's a very clear. We're having a big single at a song. Like momentarily is pure lamb chop. And then i think the other one. I really liked his circles in the fire in line. Because it's kind of all over the place it's calling. There's a huge amount of ambition on this album. Because he's contemplate. Iran wait song structures on a kind of juiced for the ultra to qatar various and vincent and then it kind of just items on your to go like. He's doing all through everything i do. You think oh it's going to be slow burner thing and then you play a couple times and you realize there's a lot of stuff happening on this album. That isn't quite immediately opponent alot of mustering in the press release. It said that the title track was inspired by founder brian. The third policeman on. I would like to point out without giving any spoilers. That surplus is very much not fever. Dream it's something else. Jennifer is this space cadet music song in seven and i quote was conceived while night swimming on the dutch island really land with a concentration of us a major light in the sky. And it's in seventy eight time. What did you reckon this to me. Felt like when. I went to go see. Singer rose Back by the way amen. Black forty seven. Do you like block. did you like black. Forty seven one of the songs. There's a band irish knowledge up you. A black forty-seven stage in life. I am lucky responds. And it's The undertones The undertones undertones and the pink. If i was again if i smoked a lot of marijuana and i was alive brass band. I think it would be for me. I don't it just was too quiet. it just was. It didn't push any buttons for me. I'm much more allowed. Rock person and and much more. Get up and dance. I don't the slower. I could see the appeal. Like if i had read what and decide instead of actually listened to the record. I probably would've wanted to listen to the album. But i listened to bow to tracks all the way through to be honest and i was like this is very pretentious. It's not for me. And then i listen to all the way through when i was writing And it sounded like exactly what you just described to be one hundred percent honest it just. It just didn't do it for me. And i i i realized i just don't think i got it. Does that make sense. Like when i went to see i remember like dragged. Go see seger rose. And everybody's like this is the most amazing bound ever. And i went and i watched about twenty minutes of it and i'm like i just don't get it at all. I sat in the lobby feeling like a complete dick. I'm like why am i not getting this. What's wrong with me. I'm totally not cool. And that's how i felt. I felt like the pd nerd. That just didn't get it. I i could tell it was really really good but i just for some reason. It connect with me. I'm sorry to be honest and that's really hard. I shouldn't be honest. You guys are never going to help me back on the podcast or you. Entry to me sounded like the sound of youth in a pandemic of young people. they're sitting on hillocks looking and thinking about the big stuff. This isn't parochial. This isn't domestic. This is about life. yeah just just enumerated. Basically all the reasons. I really like. 'cause i i am that's big. We'd i am that source of Hollow trees hello flowers stargazer. We'd own weight well. Because i don't smoke weed. You say perhaps pleasant subsidies. This is what this is. What big on the we'd would be like if you smoke the weed thing i like. I like the flaming lips. When they they they remember to keep all the names out of the red. I like the flaming lips when democratic and tuneful. I'll of cigarettes i love all that kind of Ooh let's take a look at the expanding universe and knew the skies opening is open behind it is like landscape of the mind and the infant futures. Right before you. Would you like another cup of tea. That's the kind of thing i live music. And that's why i like this. Is it a bit drippy. Maybe i myself a bit drippy. So maybe that's why i like it. This is not war pigs as this fall from wool pigs. You can get what i like is music. But some the experiments the world and makes it seem big. Eh grander more psychedelic. That's what this is. So i liked it a baked. My cake baked space cake. What did you think shah bit. Push me pull you on this one in this this points. Where in his recording. He's deliberately warping guitar. The Complicated History of The Rhine
"Our hearts are heavy. Knowing that the romantic views of castles and vineyards and germany's rhine river valley are overshadowed by the recent loss of life and flooding devastation. In germany and the low countries just downstream. From where we're talking about the following interview with tour guides tabby and ruger and nico fava real was recorded last year hot drinks so being. Give us a feeling for the medieval ryan which really created the ryan. We see today as tourists the most important trading river the with the romans already the problems with the rhyme began. It was widely considered that east of the rhine burien live. West of the rhine was civilization. And that's i went all the way through into modern history. France of course try to make for centuries the ryan its eastern border. The germans fought back and eventually of course that ended in one thousand nine hundred eighty. It's interesting when you think about it. That the ryan would have been a huge border culturally between the romans and the barbarians and from a french point of view between the french and the germans. Yeah so when you have a border like that nickel in in europe generally what happens it's Where wars having between. France and germany divorce happen then the ryan either stopped the wars or a lot of areas on the border especially in the french part of the border for instance. The elvas as region has been taken by germany. Many many times am so. It's a war zone between countries. So also been the war zone between religions catholics. Protestants fought over as yes in that area today. Even i mean today. It's kind of the border between catholic and protestant europe. Yes you could say that. Yeah north of the ryan is definitely more protestant. Now when you have the in the middle ages there was not a lot of Paved roads there is not a love law and order. If you wanted to get your goods to the market going down. The river was was one safer way to do it. I suppose it was a safe way. But you have to be careful of something. called robber. Barons who stopped ships along their journey but big chains along or across the rhine made the ship. Stop in and steal everything or steal everything in well amount of duties to say you've gotta pay ten percent of what's on your boat to continue down. Yeah i've heard this word robber. Baron castle so maybe the rhine river fabulous is sort of the quintessential example of a robber. Baron castle zone robot. Baron is a term in particular rob nights for a particular phase during the holy roman empire. Where nights had fallen so poor that the only way to keep the status was to rob traders and so on even if it was not their right to do so and eventually the problem became so bad that you had this middle class of nights who had fallen poor and became robust that the big tradings and merchants. The city's gathered union and under the emperor thing was the second thirteenth century or so. They sent this along the rhine to clear out all the rubber nights castles and literally hung them from the trees along the rhine
Receivers to Target in the Late Rounds of your Dynasty Rookie Draft - burst 05
"Was drafted another god. I'm fairly high on From clemson at cal. I'll let you discuss him. I think about what rogers. I'm not nearly as high on rogers as they consis I think a lot of people saw him when he went to green bay. I think everybody's been so ready for the green bay packers to have another wide receiver inserted in the draft. You know and we're just intimidating in anticipating but you know. I really don't think amari rogers profiles is the number two wide receiver in the fact. That rogers is a situation is so up in the air to say the the to say the least you know. I am not projecting broader. You're gonna be there long term and if that's the case you know is jordan love gonna be all support a wide receiver you know. Are we even sure that amari rogers is better than allen. Lazard now is dead fund as the guy that they went out and got in free agency it to be the number to receiver going into last year before he opted out. You know he's back on the roster as well and he's only twenty seven years old. I think people are really forgetting about devin. Funchess to be honest with you You know this is a guy that has already been a top twenty wide receiver in his career. So i think there's a lot more competition in green bay than a lot of people are are are getting Giving them credit for and The roger situation really makes me uneasy. Amaury writers has some talent. I i just don't think he's anything special. I just think that he's at best a middle level starter of the nfl. And i don't see much of a window of him being much higher especially as long as davante adams is on that team. 'cause i just don't see that the target share i mean it's a. It's a team that clearly wants to run the ball as much as possible. So i'm not nearly as how marta riders. I i know a lot of people are people are taking them in mid second rounds now and i think that that's a mistake. I think he was the best of water. She would come out clemson for the tape stuff that i watch. Those are good points. There's a reason as to why. I say fairly high. It's because i have a lot of the same reservation that you do. But and i do. I'm generally concerned about aaron rodgers in the future in green bay with the quarterback situation. But i have to look back at amari rogers talent and what he did in his last year and clemson and what he did was ball out in my opinion. Seventy seven receptions. Thousand twenty yards seven touchdowns. Yes he had. Trevor lawrence thong him. The ball but still in a shortened season are very impressive. Numbers and amari. Rogers is a guy that has pretty much been undervalued this entire process and now all of a sudden he's going green bay people hiding him and i'm not high on him because he's going to green by on more high in him because of the talent and the potential that i see and i do think that he has the potential to be the number two receiver in green bay S a good gig. Because even if aaron rodgers is not there in a long term disturbance excellence head coach matt floor and they still have a quarterback enjoy jordan love and we really don't we haven't seen much from during love so we can't make a lot of assumptions. But he was still you still first round pick in an quarterback the has a lot of potential people were comparing him to patrick mahomes and he. He was more of a quarterback they just needed to be developed. So i think that. I think that there's a good chance that jordan love could turn into a successful quarterback if the packers ended up do and not Having rogers under center. So i think the during the love isn't a terrible option there and lathered and function function all could be a lot number two receiver in that office. But i think long term that amari. Rogers is the better prospect for may so that is why i tend to be a little bit higher on the mar bader's

Miami Beach Extends Emergency Curfew as Police and Partiers Clash
"For the right to party. Miami Beach is extending a state of emergency and curfew. Police clashed with partiers over the weekend after hundreds defied emergency restrictions. Veronica's out ago via of member station W. L. Lauren in Miami joins us Good morning. Hi. Good morning, Steve. What went wrong? Well. The city of Miami Beach depends heavily on its hospitality industry as a lifeline, and the pandemic has hit tourism heart, so the city had hoped to strike a balance between welcoming tourists and keeping people safe. But city officials say they didn't expect this huge amount of people who came there blaming cheap flights, and over the last few days, crowds really swelled. The city's police chief said that at least one gun was fired. Police also fired pepper balls to break up a crowd after the curfew was said, and a very popular party venue on Ocean Drive announced it was temporarily shutting down to protect patrons and staff and that really rattled people. Officials say arrests are up, and the police department says it's arrested 1000 people since February, and officers are confiscating weapons and drugs. Well, how are people who traveled to Miami Beach for spring break responding to all these demands for restrictions and police on the streets? I've been hearing a mix of reactions. Some say they understand the need for the curfew. But Christina Thomas, a college student, said she had heard that Miami has a fun reputation and good weather. She flew in from Indiana, and she thinks the police overreacted. I didn't think That it calls for all that, because really, everybody was just having a good time. Like they weren't breaking into things. They weren't like fighting or anything like that. So that was kind of a bummer. Another visitor. I spoke to didn't come for spring break, but says the curfew left her without anything to eat or do so. She was thinking of going to Fort Lauderdale because that city does not have a curfew. Oh, good point because this is being managed city by city if it all the state governor, Rhonda Santis has been lifting statewide restrictions and said Florida Is open for business to officials in Miami Beach regret that You know some, like Mayor Dan Gilbert. I wish that they had more teeth to ask people to comply with rules. But, um, you know, it does. Please people who come here from cold weather polices, and they like that things are pretty open here. I spoke to a local couple who live in Miami Beach. And they say that the governor is actually partly to blame for these crowds. There. He has been arable Bishop and Nico Bishop. I think him saying this is open and everybody can come to Florida. No, that didn't help him coming on Friday night. They made love a very insists on ocean Drive. Come over here and see. If you agree with this They say the police presence is unsettling for them, but so the curfew just makes them feel safer. So I'm thinking about the calendar here. We're still in March. Colleges don't all have spring break the same week. There must be more of this to come. What happens next? That's right. So this city agreed that they can extend this curfew for it at least three weeks, and they will be limiting street and highway access to the area and restricting restaurants to delivery only after the curfew. But Steve this has also highlighted racial tensions. Ah, lot of people who came are black and black leaders are saying Police force was unnecessary. Mayor Dan Gelber says they were just targeting conduct and it was about trying to keep the streets safe for everyone. Veronica's Atago via of member station W. L. R and in

"W away. I This is sidebar with Nico LaHood, Georgia Russia. I don't know. I don't know. E don't want to be. I asked how to spell Flynn. Big deal people P h l E G. M No, I didn't have the gene there. I was gonna use everything you never knows. Oh, my gosh. Popular letter. Hey, has anybody seen Trump lately? That's like my transition. Yes, that is my transition. Um, I wanted to ask you about the impeachment. I have to be honest, I have not kept up with any news. I mean, I have been like your stress uninformed but not missing formed this yet? Not yet. Once I start watching the news, I will be missing the one who said that? Who said that? If you watch the news If you if you don't watch the news, you're uninformed. If you watch the news you're missing. I love that I had to write that down. So what is what is the late? They're going to go ahead with the impeachment. They don't know if they're gonna have witnesses. This part of have kept up. I mean, that guy shouldn't they kept up with? I looked over. I read some stuff and I watch something. Obviously, Republican senators and people are encouraging. Be careful Jazz for because then it's gonna be an all out war, and there's a lot of people that have just of really justifiable argument that this is not even constitutional. Is that the president? President? I mean, you can't someone that's not in position. I mean, I'm gonna fire you. I don't work for you anymore. You can't fire me. So somebody quit. You can't fire them. They don't work for you anymore. So there's a very valid argument and you have to ask you. This is a lot of political banter. And I think it's very obvious to anybody watching regardless of what side of the political spectrum Eon and it's like, what are you doing? And what are you doing this forward? How is this okay for the American people? And how does this Hi into President Biden's message one time message on unity, and so this is the world. People are asking legitimate questions. I don't care who you are. It's a legitimate question to ask, and I believe also from what I've what I've looked at, and I haven't a dissected like others legal scholars. That it isn't it is unconstitutional and is definitely unnecessary. I was just going to say that would recommend that people watch an important interview that happened this week between Joan's John Heinz and Senator Mike Lee, who is a constitutional scholar, and he waited on this very issue need getting okay? He did, and I thought, man, he did a really, really great job looking at the competing opinions among scholars, but I think his own opinion was with what he turned was the majority of scholarship. Churches has said that it is unconstitutional and he points to John Roberts really sort of refusing to preside over these proceedings, even though the Constitution says the teacher chief justice is to preside over these proceedings. And he indicates that what he's achieved. That's why the chief justice's That's a message in itself is not insignificant that John Roberts you know who I don't I don't think is really a paragon of conservatism these days, But in this regard I think he is. We can learn something from him that he is choosing not to preside over these proceedings because it is, in fact. Unconstitutional. The Constitution does clearly state that you are impeaching a president and it is an incumbent, and this president is no longer He's the former president of the United States. And so what is that issue here? So the chief justice has declined to preside over these proceedings and by extension, suggesting that this is unconstitutional. S so what's at issue? What are we trying to achieve here? And there's no question that if, in fact they succeeded in teaching him and all indications are that this is a ruse and it cannot happen. The numbers simply aren't there. That, In fact, it'll keep trump from running again. And that's really what I think is at issue in all of the polling shows that Trump has significant political power right now. And and these guys, they're scared to death of him running again. That's why does it. But doesn't that go back to what we were talking about? In the first segment about an expression of a new opinion, not following along, not doing what the current White House wants everybody to do, And so they're going to try to get rid of the person that's taking? I don't know, if 1000 our first discussion so much. This is just a political navigating. I mean, if they don't want if the Democrats are worried about President Trump running again. Well, then, if they have a means to stop him from running again, and there is a quote unquote impeachment, And then there's gonna be a whole fiasco on that of whether it was legitimate impeachment. Whether those constitutional and then whatever. Excuse me, Where does that go? S so I don't know if that's too much of stifling someone's free speech versus them just doing political maneuvering. I do and I think that's all it is. And so for anyone on the pro impeachment side Advocate anything other than it's politically driven. At least just say which this is political. Okay, well, I disagree with you. But there's you're free. Now you have a right to say it. You can pursue its unconstitutional and should be pushed down. But I wonder if Karen has a point in the sense that if you you've got government officials who are going to decide who citizens convert for next time around. That that is, But I think an assault on basic rights that they don't have a right to do. These people are in office to preserve basic fundamental rights in here, they're going to come together on a deeply unpopular decision..

Enjoy meeting with clients and listening to their situations and giving them advice. And, of course, I give him life advice as well as legal advice and and we're very happy with the results we can present for our clients and believe that our clients are happy with it, too. So I love what I do, and I'm blessed to do it. I loved it When you think you brought Patrick in one time, he's our legal George E. I asked Patrick if he had ever gone up against Nico in court, and he said, Unfortunately, I did. It was a prosecutor. I was a defense attorney. And we were trying a high profile white collar case, and it was a three week trial and we prevailed were not guilty on. Oh, I know. I said, Did you win that trick and he goes, Nico prevailed. He's a super smart guy. He's double board certified Patrick Ballantine, his board certified in criminal law and appellate law. He's a really smart guy, and he's fun to be with you. He's one of those genius, smart guys very sarcastic and Funny and he's got a great sense of humor, and he's a good person overall. So I enjoy working with Patrick. He teaches me stuff every day. And it was a pleasure to meet him. And George speaking about George. I mean, haven builders. You are a sponsor to the show, and you gotta tell us a little bit about haven builders to Get your plug in there, Dude. Yes, I'm very happy to talk about Haven builders. So I mean, I tell people all the time. You know, I'm not that we're not the cheapest people around. One of the most expensive people around me were certainly the best and the bus and a little arrogant. You know, it's the truth. That's why they call it marketing right. It's prevailed. Arrogance. Now we really I think are very, very good at what we do. And you know I don't I don't hire superintendents. We turn away a lot of business that Tony go all the time way try to stick to the high end. Residential construction side of things really hanging out in spring branch these days. We're very, very busy up there, but beautiful, wonderful place to live. But I gotta tell you we've turned out a lot of business because I really want to make sure that we're a good fit for people and we have so much demand. We just can't keep up. That's personal when you're building a home and then you end up in a situation to call me because you smack someone around. You get arrested. Yeah, That's why George has me on retainer. If you want somebody there host to grab it's mine. I'm your man. So I think our project management all the skills that I used to learn and apply. Um, in pharma. I mean, I think they were very transferrable. How you gonna tell me that? Well, it's basic project management skills about trying over communicate. You know, I do, because people people actually want that. And in the home building business. You never assume that they don't want to know. On guy try toe. Just try to kind of do some thought experience to say, man. If I was in their shoes, I'd want to know. Right now. There are laws and construction stuff doesn't show up on should. I mean, I built me goes home, and he knows he's well acquainted with some of these some of these, you know? The wall fell down yesterday. But it is that's what they said. There's that great. Hey, said it was normal front now s 03 more. Whether there's a period of time of stuff doesn't show up. Labors don't show up. Anybody's done any kind of reading. Oh, yeah, So I I really try to be proactive. I try toe communicate very clearly about things and try to really professionally manage the project. So it doesn't you know, it's not. It doesn't feel like a root canal. And after this today, y'all are gonna be headed out to do a speak and Just destruction? No. Yeah, I didn't want to talk a little longer. But they Yeah. If somebody wants you all to come and speak to their group. I mean, is that possible? Can they contact you? Is it well? Yes, they can. It depends obviously on the subject matter, but we have spoken in a number of churches. Are our churches. Summit has given us a venue every quarter and you know that we talk about down the show. And then we've been other churches and the community as well. And and other people were going up to a chiropractic clinic in Dallas, and we're gonna be speaking on different subjects. Subject matters. And so you think? Yes, we are. I mean, we don't. That's not our profession. It's more of a passion for us. We just wanna have some critical. Teach people to create, we think is we always doing educate on topics that we believe that we have. Some education and some wisdom on speaking on and then we share we used to do a Q and a so yes. So it's gonna be with you expecting a good time. And he goes the intrepid lawyer here in the group and I, You know, I have 16 years of science and the business of science and the farmer and big farm and that kind of thing. So science and politics covers a lot of things. Yeah. Science policy in the law, so Man. There's always something we haven't opinion on, and hopefully it's an informed opinion in faith. I've been to a couple of years seminars and I the thing that I think I loved about it. The most is that it is a time that people are not afraid to speak out and say Purging didn't nurture that environment. Yeah. You can disagree. You can challenge us. Please Do women trust me. There's not much that people can think of that him and I in our walk of where we're getting too in our opinions or whatever we're talking about. He's a scientist. I'm a trial lawyer. We look at evidence. We follow evidence where it leads and way don't care about our feelings. We have to show for feelings when we're looking at objective evidence, and so We love the discussion. As long as it's professional and respectful. We don't mind passion. We just don't really want an emotional conversation. We don't mind a passionate one, and it's and it's fun. Most people enjoy it. They reason with them through things, and we talked to them. But whatever subject matter we're talking about. So, yeah, you've you showed up a few times, and that was the best..

"1200. W Oh, yeah, This is sidebar with Nico LaHood and Georgia Rouge's Oh, what's What guy? What? Stop being so bad. What are you talking about? Um, I think we're all a little bit punchy. Because of the events of the week. You're here. My designated drinkers, Karen. Thank you. Very really meant to say, I know. Thank you very much. Should I give you all the big intros or should we just jump right in everyone? Did you hear the bus? Well, I'm telling you, just if you can believe it, and George, you mentioned this in just the last couple of days. Joe Biden has begun to undo unravel of any of the plans accomplishments that the former President Donald Trump had to put America first. And I think that we always have to go back to the fact that there it really is. Half of the people that voted provided by men half that voted, so that's what's causing this big divide because the people that voted for President Trump Last time in this time are still out there. And so all of this unraveling, I think it's making one a lot of people afraid and to a lot of people. With a big question mark above their head. What's happening to America? Think it's unfortunate, you know, as someone you know when you take office and you take office after a predecessor, if you truly care about the people that you're serving And your constituents and you're truly a public servant. You keep in place. Whatever your predecessor had in place that benefited the people that you're supposed to be serving. It's not. I just want to undo everything, you dicks. I want to do everything that's that You're making it about you or about agenda about something other than The people that you're serving. I always believe, you know, give honor to whom honor is due is Romans 13. And so I have no problem acknowledging When somebody else does something well, whether I like them or not. My predecessor. Anybody else I'm going to give honor. I'm going to give praise acknowledgment. When it when it's deserved period end of story, And if somebody deserves that criticism, and hopefully it's based off logic and reason and some type of moral compass and principles within you, you hold them accountable, but But you had this message this speech. From President Biden. And everybody should call him President Biden whether you believe it's all of our present president, the president, you can believe in the process. You can believe there was whatever that's fine. You're you're entitled to believe that but he is writing has been sworn in and he's the president and we should as a people. Regardless, especially people of faith should be praying for him. We should pray for his success. We should pray for his blessings for his protection. The fact that he did that that if you don't believe in his ideology or what he's trying to accomplish. That if you're a Christian, that God changes his heart. It's happened over and over again, George and I just thought on that on Thursday we're talking about you know that the king can repent. And when the people repent the king will. It was none of it's right. We're talking about Jonah and other things. So you should be praying for for President Biden, but he took he really gave up. I mean, I didn't watch it all. I didn't watch any of the inauguration, but I saw some of his speech. It was actually on paper. It was a good speech, right and good enough. It talked about unifying all this and it's all rhetoric. But is it rhetoric or was it meant And then when you look at his actions to your point, Karen Based off the unify, unify, unified But then the underlying theme was unified. As long as you do things my way that's not exactly community necessarily, very gracious person. I am substantially less gracious. I did not. I was not impressed by the speech. I thought it was much ado about nothing in terms of a lot of words. But it didn't really say anything. I am I agree with you. I think that that's how I would. The words sounded good. Sure, but that's all I'm saying. And then you say they had substance behind them. I don't know. Well, sure, Short of saying Trump's and ass and in saying it literally fruit 45 times in a row. Yeah, it was a productive speech. A real improvement over the last month, I would say, um, I don't. I gotta I gotta be. Gotta tell you this idea of unity concerns me because we've seen what they've But the party's been doing or last 2 to 3 weeks. Nico. What does that mean? You know, Unity doesn't mean that you slander your opponents. It doesn't mean that you censor your opponents that that you support efforts to stifle the speech of your opponents. And so we know that there's a socialistic mindset here and we know what unity means and socialistic circles. In other words, you lose your individuality and you become a group. Think society member, The bigger the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen, And so this would have been a wonderful opportunity for President Biden to say Hey, and by the way, Big tech I know you're listening. Don't censor people. This is the United States of America. And whether we agree or disagree with them, let them have their voice. They're entitled to free thought free speech and do not sense And we do not support that because there's no way we can unify under my way or the highway type situations. That's ultimately what is The underlying message I want to. I want to give the rope, so to speak for the ideology to hang itself, and I always get deeper than the individual. It's about the ideology behind the individual. Because, remember, we talked about this before. George, You're never voting for a person. You're truly voting for the ideology behind the person and you're only decision is does that person hold up the ideology that you claim to support? And so I want a fresh start in the sense that we already have history with this guy, But I mean and and the party, unfortunately and say, Hey, look. Okay, Here it is. This is your show. Here's your canvas. What are you gonna paint your butt?.

"1200. A sidebar with Nico LaHood and Georgia Rouge. Oh, so 11 little thing I wanted to bring up, of course, was Another topic. Besides, you know, life and abortions that was very, you know, divided when it came to Democrat and Republican is I kept on thinking to myself. The Democratic side always wants to say, Let's have men and women treated equally but what happens and it seems to be that there is no more divide between men and women. It's like everybody's treated equally, but there are no more just two sexes to talk about. The gender fluid arguments will discuss that in here before in another other podcast Look. Men and women have equal value. I mean, talk about biblical worldview will start with that because that's the way I look at the world. Men and women have equal valuable We're not the same. So I think it's it's a this is pushed towards sameness don't know if that's a word, but I'm going to say it, but there's there's a push toward sameness. That is not practical, no matter what you think about gender and whether the binary meaning to or whatever it's fluid or not. Florida Whatever you think. And is very different than the homosexual issue. This is gender fluidity versus when I was growing up here. The transsexual You're a drag queen transsexual transvestite. Um so are not transsexual. It was your transvestite. Oh, are you are, you know homosexual, lesbian or gay or whatever it was, but But this trans gender fluidity issue is something very, very different and so sameness. Is not scientific. I mean, if I wanted Teo for some reason, if I wanted to give birth to a child, they couldn't I couldn't. I'm not the same. I have my wife and I happened have two boys and two girls. And I say that's very that's not a political statement. I can't believe that that's become a political statement boys into grows and two males and two females. That's not a political statement that za biological statement. That's that's the actual societal truth. That that there's certain genitalia on a male and there's certain genitalia on a female and there's over 6500 biological differences, and I'm just general numbers between male and female, and that's that's scientific, though of course it is and gender and biological sex were always the same thing. Always forever and ever, and only a fairly recent construct the idea that that this whole idea of gender dysphoria the tension between what you Leave your sexes and what your assigned sex was at birth so that that creates this condition called gender dysphoria. And so we're giving just the same merit to somebody who believes they are ex sex. Versus somebody who actually is that sex and the idea that that's not going to create problems. That's unbelievable. Yeah, the same thing. We are the same. What scares me? I used that word scares, but it concerns me that Everybody being the same has a bigger bigger meaning. Well, look, I mean, there. There's a podcaster out there. His name is Joe Rogan. He he's He's a left leaning guy. Pretty much like what and he's this other. Colorful language that I probably lesson and I used to, But I'm just saying so. He says. What do I give a crap for whatever. On whether somebody thinks this and that he's to take that position as Children, and he's a commentator for the UFC, and he's a comedian and all the social And then he said, and then I saw in Emma match. Between a biological male that identified as a female against a biological female. And he said, What I saw is it dude beat Thie F and Here's the word. Out of out of a chick or a girl. Whatever Termini used when he was just trying make a point. He talks very boldly. And he goes, that's wrong and actually broke her orbital socket She's done in her. Mm, a career. My God, I have other people. That stories we've heard where a biological male competes is a female. Because of other identification, and these females are cheated out of victories. Is this going to go to the Olympics? Our female. I mean, where's the Where's the woman's movement now?.
