"Was twenty five bucks. You know this was. This was big money and the confidence man. You know they were doing all the normal scams that you would think of right. You could tell that. He had friends in the audience. That kept winning money off of him right you. Have you have a show? Who Beats you a few times enough to get somebody else to put their money on the table but he did this wonderful thing which was kind of allow us to stand behind him and see. We saw the scam. We saw the you know the the ball role Sean Penn and teller doing their trick with the transparent stuff. Yeah Yeah it was. It was a double trick right because from the fronted looked honest but he was aware we were watching. Why did he let you guys did? He knew you weren't GonNa be new money on that because he was playing with his friends. And eventually one of my companions through this fifty Deutschmark thing on the table and I. I was stunned. What are you doing you just saw? And he immediately ran the scam on us and my friend lost his money and then the apple crate got picked up and they disappeared into the crowd. They'd been playing this game for twenty minutes. Just trying to find one sucker. There's often an element where especially if you once. They've got their stay or if somebody accidentally guesses right. Then there'll be some distraction and look the cops run. The whole operation will disappear. Soapy Smith use that technique a lot because as he got more and more successful and prominent in Denver he started to put the local cops and local government officials on his payroll and frontier. Denver was was a place where there was quite a bit of corruption and so soapy was running now an empire of different confidence games legitimate gambling novelties prostitution and he was paying off all of the local law enforcement and masquerading somewhat as a as a Not a upstanding citizen but a legitimate one prominent local businessman and and in in an spoiler alert. This is how the movie sting ends but if somebody did get up on the house there was always a bust. There was always a real cops. You don't need to do the fake thing that's right. There was always a way but but as a as the eighteen eighties progressed. A reformist governor governor came into Colorado and threatened to boo and tried to shut down all the vice in Denver at which point soapy and his crowd moved out to a town called read. Colorado which was a pop up mining town that became you know just a classic old. West kind of wild wild lawless pop-up super-popular and they're doing ice cream sandwiches and gold mining and they set up shop there and became. You know your one stop vice shop. He Jefferson found a petrified man. Some kind of wait a real one. Well Yeah and we have one of those here in Seattle down at the old curiosity that have you ever. Have you ever seen him? Yes the The the the dried up. Husk of a of an old prospector. That's got a mysterious bullet hole. I always assumed it was fake. It seems like it would be weird to have have have like a live human being in a glass case but that's been at the yield curiosity shopper. For a long long time maybe predating laws about not doing the loss of not doing unless that's the ultimate green funeral. I guess that's what I want to happen to me. When I go curiosity shop and people can come poke poke at your bullet wound combined me with some kind of Taxidermied armadillo maybe a bass elope. Maybe I will have to shoot you in order for you to end up in that position and then I'll be the soapy Smith. I need a colorful. Nick Aces and eights. I'll be clutching omnibus show notes. He got his nickname soapy from a pretty clever scam. Which was he would set up a little apple crate and he was selling soap and the premise was that he would rap money around a bar of soap. And then wrap it in plain white rapper and he would put a dollar under under rapper of one piece of soap and ten dollars under another and then a hundred dollar bill around a bar of soap and then he would mix up all the soap. Put them into you. Know a a big pyramid and for dollar. You could buy a soap and take your chances. It's really want because golden ticket. It's exactly and the today it. Probably VIOLATES GAMBLING LAWS BUT NOT IN CREED COLORADO NOT IN CREEK COLORADO NOT IN DENVER. And he was running this. He was running this scam and of course it was. It was hugely popular. He would he would have his his accomplice in the in the crowd. Get a get the twenty dollar Bara Soap and rejoice wave their twenty dollars in the air. Oh my God I did he stuff so that he knew where stuff was. Yeah it was all sleight of hand stuff it You know he never gave away a hundred dollar bill to any To any mark on the street I mean because that is a I mean you could actually. That's a legitimate business. You could run as long as you figured out you. You're giving out lesson prices than the cost of the soap right. That he did not choose to do know he was he was he was doing it and he was also scamming. There's an easier way. He got arrested at one point on the COP couldn't couldn't remember his first name just called him soapy and after that it became his sober cat his nome-de-guerre so briquet circuit. I don't know if I had a Bat. I would I would whack you with it from here. Six feet away. You can't touch me anyway. Eventually he was the governor you know of his campaign against vice dissipated and soapy ended up back in. Denver became now a true empire builder and eventually was too hot even a even for Denver. Denver started to get to be a big town and as a result needed to have at least a a.

Yeah so four cups walk eight and the whole place becomes a mortuary we're cubs then a state trooper attitudes stop. We look really slow night in law enforcement but whatever. Nick FILLS OUT THE SHIT. He needs to fill out to let them know the restraining order. But then I was talked him like you know there's GonNa come a point where you're just GonNa have to break this dude's head open then. It's just how you have to solve the next like you. Don't WanNa do that. Well he he is not he is not a fighter and I was trying to convince you now. The guy is the human. Oh you know. I tried to get nick to ask listener and friend of the PODCAST SCOTT J to teach him Brazilian Jujitsu. Because I think that'd be really funny. Jj I would love to watch him get choked out. It could really funny for the PODCAST. Nick Ace out by Royce gracie point was really good video. Still we know a lot of people who've done some interesting stuff. Yeah it's nice to nice to know more ambitious people and but yeah so. That's what I love about Albany's yet you can't just solve things by an breaking somebody's like Isaak it and that's dead now. I was like I had a couple of beers and when do kicking the door I I was like bounces off then. Nichols don't don't told me about the HIV. I don't WanNa do that. "What a bizarre story that tape exists ended two dough boys Brian Shaw? That's my pick. Oh Brian Shaw a good one. It wasn't it wasn't great but <hes> we did have something great yeah speaking of players on the three peach the Lakers and there are two menu items named after the two stars. There's a shack Burger and a Kobe Burger that's right and and evoking their personalities. The Shack Burgers the Everyman Burger American cheese caramelized onion housemaid Piccolo shack sauce the Mitch and Brioche and the Kobe Burger is the more elitist sort of upscale Burger Lager Burger Greg Norman Prime Kobe beef grew air roasted tomatoes wider Ruge Bacon Jam and Brioche. I will say both the Burger and the man I know you're trying to compare me to coby but I am team. Shack all the way Shaq was the reason that team was so great and and shack was look plugged so many players in the Kobes role without shack. That team doesn't win three championships these N._B._A.. All three of those teams in the regular season M._v._p.. One of those three years he shack Burger at this game is rigged. It Shacks Restaurant Shack the Better Burger the Burger Shack Burgers so much better than the Kobe Burger. They're good they fucking great shock and not just because hoping to get invited back yeah but we said that and there is the best basketball food hybrid take I've ever heard in my life. I think you absolutely nailed it like it is such a outrageous conspiracy theory that I think it's a hundred percent true for sure. They only rigged it yeah yeah because of that. You're not welcomed. That was my ultimate goal I did I think I think you're spot on and and I think the the Kobe Burger wasn't bad at that I didn't I didn't want more than the quarter that I had of it. Yeah it was an rich agree very rich aggressively salty salt burger. That would have been too much. The Bacon Jam was what it was. I think that Baker was was just plus. The degree air greer was just so so a hyper rich and the Shack Burger was just so accessible and just was like a fucking perfect klag. Take narrative was so far so good. It was a slam dunk. It was a slam dunk. Oh because he's a basket. He's he's a dunker. Oh that's what that was. It was I was only thinking metaphorically didn't make the connection basketball Jesus. It's a slam dunk slam dunk got it. Can I also say that. I've never felt worse after a meal. I think that I might die. Well you know what part of you will what might have part of the reason of that is that we got ourselves a little bit of Dessert Dessert Banana Pudding and which was very heavy but good but does that much and then I went to the bathroom came back and at the entire second-half myself you took some interesting bathroom breaks. You took one bathroom break just when the food awry yeah which I haven't seen people do before and then you take another bathroom break mid dessert course again a couple bites. "From the New York Times. I'm Michael Barbaro. This is the daily. Today. For weeks after mass protests and international pressure failed to unseat Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, it became clear that it would take defections from within his own regime to remove him from power. Now secret documents leaked to my colleague, Nick ace suggest that people around Madero are starting to turn on. It's Friday may third. Nick, what happened at the beginning of this week in Venezuela. It's around sunrise, Tuesday morning and Venezuelans wake up to this video which is suddenly appeared. We went and it's one way though. Lucho at siempre in gynecology to why those the leader of the national simply they're very used to seeing him. He's been saying that he is the legitimate president of Venezuela for months and that he's going to topple nNcholas Maduro. In medical the gym. But he hasn't been able to do that. So far. Except in this video suddenly things look different. He's standing on a military base. Melia mealy Dada. He's got national guardsmen standing behind him. And he's saying the moment has come and women. Our this is it everybody is going to start to rebel right now. These men behind me or on my side. And it's only a matter of time till the rest of the country is going to be as well come out to the streets come out and join us the moment is at hand. Duda Jaeger Venezuela. And then when you look behind him in the video there's another man everybody in Venezuela recognizes the hasn't seen in a while. It's they uphold a Lopez who is a political prisoner the most famous political prisoner in the country who's been sentenced to almost fourteen year jail sentence, but he's not in his house arrest. He's behind one way, though, he's with these military men and all of them are saying the time has come. This is the juncture get ready. This'll ended by leeann own behaving too young. I'm with Abraham he's been asking for the military to get on his side to push Madurai out for months at this point. But there now military that are behind him. And it looks like they're on his side has message now is we've got these guys here. There's a few of you left. Get on our side. We're going to do all this today. Say if you do young impasse. Oh. Domino's. Whether in his Wailer and potentially it sounds like by the end of the day Medeiros, not going to be in power. Alive. Nick, what does the scene signal to you? It seems there's just suddenly a big blast of hope for the opposition has been looking for some moment. Like this to say that they're going to get the upper hand in this months long battle against Madero. And this is also ricocheting out to Washington, we see this now is essentially desposited moment in the efforts at the Venezuelan April to regain their freedom, which we fully support. I got a call really early in the morning from someone over there saying that they had heard the supreme court Justice was going to sign a memo saying that quite oh was the president. And the defense minister was going to suddenly defect from Madero. And then also there's this rumors starting to circulate around DC that Madero is Jennings. A jet to get out of the country while luring Calvin we're just now learning secretary of state. Mike palm peyot says he believed early this morning that nickel. Madora was actually ready to flee Venezuela. He had a plane ready on the tarmac. Apparently, he was headed to Vanik Cuba. But Mike Pompeo is telling us that he believes the Russians talked him out of it also. So I'm looking at this still in my bed at this point. And it all looks a little too good to be true for the opposition, the people they're talking about defecting have been loyalists for longtime, and if you look closely at this video, you can't even see how many soldiers are actually standing behind him. There's no one from the top ranks of the military. That's there. So it's clears it's going to be a long day. But it's not clear who's going to be the Victor. So what actually happens?

"Video with you know, how many people are nervous about this nervous about this. The people that have taken four themselves or themselves with somebody else. But people have porn out there. We've out a hundred point that's a hell of way to make money. So I guess the key is, you know, don't don't do any porn if you do it. There's a way to make sure that you just do it for you. And you know, so should students that participated in the senior pranks Sophie charter school be allowed to walk across the stage for graduation that has been a big topic of discussion that also blended into our discussion about should the rich and famous parents that bribed their kids way into prestigious universities, should they face prison time, and it's all part of the same conversation. It's all part of the idea of entitlement. It's part of the idea of not suffering consequences because of who or what you are. And I really am surprised that the parents, and I understand that you want the best for your child. But when you have parents citing with the children, even when they do wrong in any situation that doesn't help teach the kids right from wrong. Because sometimes the school is right. And you've got parents that that will come to the aid of their their child, even if their child did wrong, and if the students were warned do not participate in senior pranks, and they did. And if they were told you're not going to walk across the stage. That's one of the things in addition to not going to be suspended. If that is the consequence I don't see how the school can do anything other than follow through. And don't you think that maybe next year when students are told that Sophie, be right? Do not participate in the senior pranks that maybe they'll take it a little more seriously. Maybe so, and if that's the case, then that's exactly why you have consequences. Also, do you think the charges we talked about this on the show in? This was a story. Do you think the charges? Should be filed against the teenager that hit the the the politician on the side of the head with that raw egg having a New Zealand, and this guy was was speaking after the it was after the the mass shooting at the mosque in New Zealand, and there was an Australian Senator and he was talking at a press conference. And this like seventeen year old teenager was doing a video of it. And smashed a raw egg the side of his head. And then he turned and punch the kid. So the conversation was should the teenage your face charges should the politician face charges and police in Australia have announced neither one will face any charges in that case also coming up, we're going to end the conversation this hour. Bike to work day. Did you ride your bike to work? It was a beautiful day. And is this something that is going to come even more and more popular in New Orleans. I think so we're we have not been the most bike friendly city in America. But I'm really impressed with the way the cities changing and the city is changing not not just because of of native New Orleans. The city is changing because a lot of millennials a lot of people who have moved here from elsewhere. Where biking is is more respected than it has been here had helped contribute to a changing New Orleans and terms of being a bike friendly city. But let me get back to some of your calls from some of you who have been holding on from Gretna. Jesse? Welcome to wwl. I just wanted to kind of respectfully disagree with your nalgiev of the Texas. You earlier about you know, the ship hearing. Related criminal Justice system. Somebody who has influence judge and disagree with it to the point where it's more like an appeal. If you will that if you if you get something, and you find that your sentences or she can appeal your. Higher judge. And I think that's why. When it was I understand your conversational trying to say really don't think that that. Punishment of crime in this case. You know, I have to sheen years in my household right now one of them decided they wanted to partake in your brain suspended, and I had to go to school. I had to you know, John, you know, I had to go pick him up and everything and I said, well, okay. You know, I mean, he's you know, he's spending. He you hold onto it. You did I think that Nick ace is my personal opinion that I went too far in establishing a consequence for almost tradition. I mean, I feel like nowadays that we're putting show many rules and show many things that we forget what it was like when we were kids just I agree with I agree with all of that. I did talk about that earlier in the show when we first started that topic because I think the rule is wrong. And I think maybe the seniors should be allowed to have that prank day where they, you know, they do have the, obviously there are certain things they couldn't do, you know, let them have water gun in water balloon fights, let them let let him do that. Don't make the toilets. You know, accessible don't don't do that. Or don't damage anything. But let the students do that. I agree the penalties to severe. But if it is a penalty, I think it's wrong to go back on the consequence. The biggest thing about this one. I think it's such a big deal is walking across going into the phone that taking that away is a lifelong consequence, it's not a suspension or consequences that, you know, you pay your dues, and you're done the reverberations today consequential lesser entire life. What better way to inspire people to break the rule? Well, it depends on how hard the rules. I mean. Mischief. As far as I know the students that participate of the ones that are not going to walk across the stage. I mean, if they're innocent bystanders, then that's different topic. But if they knew not to do it, and they did it, and I don't see how the school can go back on it. Now, we can talk at that point about changing the rule. Maybe it shouldn't be a rule because I personally think it's too harsh which is why I struggle with this topic. I don't like the penalty. But if it was a consequence, and they did it. Anyway, I think you ought to them to say I gotta teach this lesson. That there should be a consequence, you know. And I agree that they did something wrong. And there should be a consequence. I just the only trying to make a conscious too harsh. And it's it's too long reaching and denture mental to these young kids. And and that's it. I I am not excuse her behavior. I'm not trying to say it'd be little in any way, shape or form. I just think that it's too harsh. I get it. My only point Jesse. That was a good point. Glad you call. I mean, I get that. It's harsh. But if it's a penalty if it's a consequence doesn't the school have to follow through from lecture. Mark. Welcome to wwl. When you saying about? Oh, follow rule when I was in army in Germany. We had to go to classes, we will. We're told besides besides obeying military Justice that was far servicemen. We could be arrested by German police for violating laws of Germany warned us about that. And most military people tell you when you get stationed anywhere overseas. You will learn that that he was besides being the military Joe's, you also got a beta lose of whatever country you're in. Yeah. Of course. And I think sometimes when people go to other countries, they don't understand that. There are no they don't have a constitution. Like we have their early. And you. K came in China. Simple people might think of ours. But, hey, this is China's rural, you know. That's right. This is Germany does and I feel badly for the guy. I forget his name, but warmer or the guy. The student who who ended up coming back to the United States, basically comatose in the ended up dying not long after he was released from Chinese prison. But I mean at what point do you think in China that you can put up a pro wasn't a protest poster that he put up somewhere. I mean, what point do you think? That's okay. Yeah. I know I know some of the rules. They have as a little bit hall, and it just like this the understand why saying they somebody's thing. I would think right there. It depends. Okay. I'll be right. I could see. Okay. If Asia may what I think that if they want to have a playing bay, and they the prang day. Okay. Give base ascension of something and still add them wall. I don't understand the whole situation. You can't do it. Like you today. Not letting go to prom and not letting them walk that there seem like a harsh punishment. It does seem like a harsh punishment. But if it's there, and if you're warned then. Gotta follow through with it. I mean, this is a mistake that parents make every day. If you set up a consequence for your child, you have to follow through you can't say if you do that again, then this is what's going to happen. And then it doesn't happen. That does not teach a consequence for negative behavior. And this really is a it's a small thing in some ways. But it really is a microcosm from much bigger problem in this country. And the problem is people think that they can get away with doing whatever it is that they want to do, and there's no consequences and somebody even suggested that will maybe because they're on a roll students. Maybe they thought they could get away with it. And that they would never do this to them. Well, that is the beginning of instilling this entitlement privilege mentality and people, and that's the same as the the the rich and famous parents that bribed their kids way into a prestigious university, they thought that because the rich they could get away with it. All right. So today is.

"From the New York Times, I'm Michael Barr. This is the date. Today. A remarkable battle for power is playing out in Venezuela with drooling claims to the president's and talk of a coup Nick ace on the crisis in Caracas. It's Friday January twenty. So on January tenth in Venezuela. Nncholas Maduro put his hand on a book and swore himself in as president for another sixer. Man that was to Politika Bolivarian Thrilla, but I put up with IRA different. They're lying saying at the two weeks later in 'nother part of Caracas on Sunday. Little known wa- maker named one way though stood before a group of people and held a kind of citizens swearing in ceremony. Where he said he was the president of Venezuela. Young and he was prepared to lead the country himself. So two men are declaring themselves the president of one country two president. How is that possible? What has been going on in Venezuela that leads these two men at the exact same time to declare themselves. The rightful leader of the country. Will you have to turn the clock back to last year just before the summer? Official campaigning Venezuela's presidential election has kicked off with huge rallies. By the candidates Madeira was running for reelection. Now, remember he'd been president of this country during this massive disaster in Venezuela. At the beginning of the summer. The consi was collapsing people were losing even more of their savings than they ever had. Hospitals were completely supplies and they had been for years. I was there during that time. I got sick. I got dang gay. And they weren't able to do anything about it. This was the state of the country that has the world's largest proven reserves of oil. It was an all time low and nNcholas Maduro was asking them to give him another six years as the president. And that would seem quite counterintuitive. What was his standing at that moment? How many people blamed him for the situation? Everybody blamed him. You would go around in the neighborhoods in Caracas, and they would point at how skinny they weren't say. This is the consequence of duro diet Madero diet named after the current President Nicolas Maduro, that's what it's called there. When people have lost a bunch of weight a love the past year. Seventy four percent of Venezuela's lost an average of eight point seven kilos in weight is even laughed about that. He says he thinks it's funny. This is a man who's shown very little sympathy for this massive crisis that the country is going through. So you would think under normal circumstances that it would be impossible that this person would be reelected by the country that had been brought down during his first term as president. So then here comes the night of the election and the results come in and Medeiros won Venezuela's President Nicolas Machado has been declared winner of Sunday's election. We won. Again, we were triumphant again, we've overcome all obstacles, we are the strength of history transformed into a popular victory permanent popular victory. He's going to be president for another six years Devaney Venezuelans they found that terribly shocking today the world have the ice here in Venezuela. Venezuelan have at St. today is their own survival ASA democratic nation swell cater ship their world can no longer turn a blind eye to that reality manner in which this election was conducted was under a big cloud, and immediately you see countries outside if Innis Walea condemning what had happened saying the election may have been rigged that they're not going to recognize nNcholas Maduro downsizing his win as a sham Panama Costa Rica, she lay and the US mission to the UN said, they won't recognize the results of the election. You f- resident Trump signing a new executive order this afternoon following the results of that controversial Venezuelan election. The executive order is designed to try and prevent the Venezuelan government from selling off its ask. Sets. If you're in Venezuela. It looks like you're going to have Madero as your president for another six years. They said that you were obliged to vote. They said that people were coerced. It's a lack of respect. Months

"Yes Carson is a quarterback going forward. Nick ace. Listen, we we would love to have everybody back throughout the roster. But as I've said, many many times, you know, it's not about one guy about the team. And we're going to do what's best for the team. Doug Peterson co to the eagles in his end of season press conference just two days after the eagles gave it their best. Tried their damnedest to beat the New Orleans Saints and made it very interesting from the beginning when they were fourteen nothing all the way to the end when they were driving down twenty two fourteen. With an opportunity to win the game. So when says the guy if they did have a discussion in the aftermath of twenty two fourteen versus the forty eight to seven nightmare that Wentz authored, it wasn't a very long discussion. And it appears that the eagles excuse the dip in performance from whence in two thousand eighteen and there definitely was a dip in comparison to twenty seventeen by pointing to the injury. Peterson was asked about why? It took so long for wants to get back and whether that affected him when he did get back and Peterson says I go back to two thousand seventeen Carson had philosophies, and he was healthy. He was able to go through as an gathered at timing and rhythm everything that lead into the MVP type season. He was having in two thousand seventeen before the injury fast forward to last off season. He didn't have that. He didn't have that off season with his teammates. He was rehabbing. He was going through that process and missed parts of training camp. There were some specially situations as you know, like seven on sevens. And things like that where we got him out there. But I do think those can you know, you're talking about quarterbacks and receivers and quarterbacks and running backs. There's a timing. There's a relationship you've gotta have when you miss that time it affects the overall big picture of things. So they're excusing Wentz. His play twenty eighteen by pointing to the fact that he had the tornados yell. None of that affects the. Reality that the guys injury prone now, Harry Roseman the executive VP of football operations said we have a lot of confidence in Carson and his ability to be a quarterback and to be hopefully a nineteen game starter when we look at full season and what we're trying to do. There's still work to do to get him to the point where it can play all nineteen games. And there's still work to do as relates to what happens with Nick foles. Howie Roseman addressed the possibility of foles returning to the eagles. We would love to keep false. I mean, you talk about a guy who we've grown incredibly close with. I mean, I don't know team that wouldn't want to have Nick foles on their roster. So certainly as we go into the substance of those discussions, we haven't had them yet. But there's no question we love having Nick foles as an eagle in Philadelphia. And we'd love to keep them. The comment about there isn't a team that would love to have Nick falls on the roster. That tells me they're going to try to set up a trade. That that's part of the sales effort. Hey, everybody. We got a quarterback that you've just got to have. At a price to get there. They'll have to exercise a twenty million dollar option for twenty nineteen and then falls can buy out of it for two million. And then they would apply the franchise tag. And I said yesterday, it's time for us to quit being a nice guy. He needs to say, I'm not signing a long term contract. I'll take the twenty five million. If you wanna give me a long term contract, you gotta give me twenty five million plus thirty million at a minimum fully guaranteed its signing. Because that's what I would get over the next two years. I want to get to the open market you keep delaying my shot at the open market. And I don't like it. Now. I say that falls needs to do what's in the best interest of himself and his family because. What Roseman said none of read this to you. What Roseman said when he was asked about how this would all play out with falls. Roseman said it always has to be what's best for our football team. And the eagles we have to make decisions based on that. There's also a respect factor for guys that have done a lot for us and been part of it. We try to factor that in as well. But the bottom line is we have to do what's best for our football team to help us win games going forward. So the respect factor for falls may be this. Hey, Nick, we're applying the franchise tag to you. And we're going to try to trade you and out of respect for you. We won't just dump you want any old team. Not that any old team would take a guy who doesn't wanna be there. Especially at the quarterback position. You're not gonna commit twenty five million in two thousand nine hundred dollars to a guy who doesn't wanna be there. So the ultimate respect for Nick foles would be to say, hey, Nick, we're letting you walk away. We'll take the compensatory draft pick in two thousand twenty that will be factored in based upon your departure. But we're gonna let you walk away. But that's how much respect we have for. What you've done you delivered this city. It's only Super Bowl championship. Thank you. We're done messing with you. We're done squatting on you were done treating you like a piece of property you get to go hit the open market. And if they're not gonna do that, then it's time for falls too. And it doesn't mean being a jerk. Just means being a business person. You're going to do what's in the best interest of the team? I'm going to do what's in the best interest of team falls? Statue get question. Do you think after hearing that that they think there's legitimate chance? Nick foles is going to be on the team this year. Because when I heard that yesterday. I was like, okay. They know he's gone. They're just saying what they need to say. They're not gonna say, oh, we don't want Nick foles back if he would sign for a million bucks. Of course, they'd love to have them back. Well, yeah. That's the thing. If there's a way they could steal him. Right. If he's going to go Tom Brady hometown discount for the privilege of standing on the sidelines. Waiting for Carson Wentz to get injured again, then so be it. How bad does he want to go be a starter? Peter King made that point yesterday. I think that anyone who plays football wants to play football. I I don't even think you need to ask the question. I think it's presumed. Hey, Nick, would you rather not play football rather play football? Let me think about can I get back to your Friday. Do you want to play? He's gonna wanna play in the right situation. But he has power over that. He has full and complete power. And he can put the eagles in a tough spot. He can be an asset to them if he wants to he can say, hey, guys, you play this franchise tag. Jimmy. I tell you what right now, I'm not signing a long term contract with anybody. So good luck trading me because whoever takes on my contract is going to have to take on twenty five million dollars in cap dollars for twenty nineteen and they're not going to get a reduced number because I'm not agreeing to a new contract. And you know, what else I'm not showing up for anybody's season program either. I'm making it. No now. Hey, you know, what I've been upon in this broader NFL collective bargaining agreement. Franchise tag contractor will rights dance long enough. Here's how it's going to be. I'm taking control of my career. I'm acting in my best interest. And my best interests require me to stand up and take this position I refuse to sign a long term contract, I refuse to participate in any voluntary offseason programs until I get a contract. That I like or until I have a chance to hit the open market. That's how it's going to be. Period. And I got a Super Bowl MVP trophy. Toback me up on that. That's what he can do. Now is that what he will do? I don't know. Is that what is agents should recommend that he do? Absolutely. And the agent is the one who can take the heat the agent is the one who can be the person who plays bad cop, Nick and say, well, you know, I'm just I'm relying on my agent. That's why I have an agent it's up to the agent the agent figures all that out all I do show up and play football. Then you look like a jerk if you if you do that, and he was doing that last year. Remember when he was being asked those questions by the likes of Ellen Degeneres and Jimmy Kimmel after he won the Super Bowl about this. Yeah. Remember Kimmel said well, surely you can't go back, and and be a backup again and any kind of brushed it all off, but they didn't trade him in the off season when they could have it wasn't even a topic of conversation. They wanted him around. And you know, what it paid off for them? Well, now, it's time for it to pay off for him. And here's hoping he does it. I'm not trying to stir up trouble. I'm just trying to get somebody to stand up for themselves. The teams always do what's right for them. Player has the opportunity to do what's right for him and needs to do it. Jerry Jones disgust Jason GARRETT'S future..
