"Nobody makes golf clubs the way they do, period. Who's this, Marv? This is the system. Don't disturb this groove. Okay. Hang the sign up on the door. Okay. I think they're trying to say something here. I'm not sure what they're referencing. Not to read between the lines here. I'm gonna take my clothes off to she said, who thank goodness I thought it was just me here. Oh, you two? Okay. Oh, I see what's going on now. That'd be awkward. Why are you naked? I'm gonna take my clothes off too. Yeah. Oh, okay. All righty. Gotta calm down after Nick Wright. On all defensive. Calm him down. You know, but mahomes could be zero three in super bowls. And yes, Tom Brady could have three less, or he could have three more. It comes down to a full team effort. Mahomes was wonderful in the second half. Wonderful. But I got a factor in everybody else who contributed. And Jalen hurts was the best quarterback on the field. The chiefs are champs. Great. like, you know, it's weird when you see this. And it goes back to when I was in the locker room when the Giants beat the bills and this was Scott Norwood, the miss vehicle. And OJ Anderson was there at his locker and he's the Giants running back and he wouldn't talk to anybody because he said nobody picked us to win. And I thought, boy, you're just missing out on this opportunity, celebrate. Who cares? Yeah, there was a holding call. Absolutely. Okay. Were there other calls? Calls it went against the chiefs. Yes. But, you know, I'm just kind of surprised. The rage. It's okay. You won. Take a victory lap. Take a deep breath. Oh, we got so many people. Now I want to offer up name, cheating names. Zoltan and Florida joining us. Hey, Dan. Yeah. I just want to wish Ryan in hallelujah a very alone high.

"But maybe I do need to do some introspection because I do get a lot angrier when you question the greatness of the chiefs than when you openly hit on my wife for the 6th straight show. Maybe I do have some unresolved issues there. Maybe it's the ghosts of Lin Elliott and the no punt game and blowing a 28 point lead Andrew Luck and having Marcus Mariota throw a touchdown pass to himself to beat us in the playoffs. That has made me, you know, very defensive of this dynastic run we now have. Who do you love more? Mahomes or your wife? Okay, that's on. You didn't answer. They're different types of love. Okay. You still didn't answer, but I get it. It's different types of love. Okay. Well, save travels to Kansas City. I will. Thank you. And once again, congratulations. And I look forward to having dinner with you again. Okay, absolutely. Schedules, schedule now free. So you and I would love to. I would love to. You and me? Just us. Okay, just us, pal. Okay, fair enough. Thank you, Nick. Goodbye, Dan. That's Nick Wright. We're so good at ruining his day. Then you openly hit on my wife for the 6th show in a row. I love that dude, man. I really do. How can he have a bad day? His chief's just one. Dead. Everybody on Twitter is screaming. Put some respect on our names. Dude, you guys won. You're getting paid billions of dollars chill out. "Who has more is Brady with 6, moms has played in 14 playoff games, Brady 30, or what is it? 48. And then lastly, in all of NFL history, there have been four double digit second half Super Bowl comebacks. Two vibrating, two by mahomes, that's the list. So I actually think he gets more dangerous when he's trailing. I also, I thought Siri Annie coach, a hell of a game. And I thought he was smart that he stayed true to himself on the fourth down stuff, but there are two knits that I would pick if I were an eagles fan. One is the end of the first half when they did get the ball back up 7. They seem to kind of slow roll that whole drive just happy to get a field goal as opposed to try to go for a touchdown. And then in the fourth quarter, when they were down one, they had a fourth in two. Now it was on their own 33 yard line. I get that that's scary, but the chief said had such successful on that defense, I feel like the mindset there has to be field position does not matter. Keeping the ball is what matters. They punted on that fourth and two and that's when Tony hit the big pump return and they got it. He's Nick Wright first things first co host. You can see him every afternoon on Fox Sports one. If you're the eagles, do you sign up hertz? Yeah, to me, that game right there. I had major questions. I no longer do. I thought people might co host on the show mocked me because a lot of my analysis of young quarterbacks is I go to what they did before they got to the NFL. What was their recruiting profile out of high school? What did they do in college? And one of my questions for hertz was, if he faces adversity in the Super Bowl, do the ghosts of collegiate playoff Benji's past come back and haunt it. And the fact that he did have that fumble 6 and then responded with his arm and his legs, his, he's the best quote in the league. And that actually matters in this regard like he seems truly leadership motivational inspirational a plus, he is incredibly tough and he is, to me, shown more growth as a passer in the last year than I hate to, I'm not trying to just compare black quarterback to black quarterback, but Lamar, who was a dynamic runner immediately, to me, Jalen has grown more as a passer in one year than I've seen from Lamar and 5. And so, yeah, I'd sign him up. I'd absolutely sign him up particularly in that conference. Where the other best quarterbacks in football, all of them are in the other conference. Yeah, and that's why you look at the NFC and it sounds strange to say it. The eagles might have a better chance of getting back to the Super Bowl because they don't have to worry about anybody in the NFC other than San Francisco, whereas the chiefs in the AFC have to worry about no one stop it. You're going to give more bullets and board material, Dan.

"I predicted 34 20, Dan. And you know what? Even the most accurate sports pundit of 2022, according to Reuters, you know, has some misses and I did not think Jalen hurts had that game in him. He comes out of that game looking as good as any Super Bowl losing quarterback I can remember. The fact that he had an unforced error that directly led to 7 points and nobody is like using that against him. Everyone's like, nope, he was awesome. Shows you how great he was, but where I was correct in my analysis was that this eagle's defense was not an all time great defense. It was not that I don't care what the sack numbers are. It's not the 85 bears. They played in the regular season four quality starting quarterbacks, three of those four scored 33 plus on them. And I just knew the analogy I used and I don't know if you ever did this when, you know, you've lived in the northeast for a while. When it turns to winter, I wait as long as I possibly can before I wear a heavy coat. That way when it gets really cold, I've kind of built up some tolerance. It's like, okay, now the code will make you feel good. I don't feel like the eagles had built up any tolerance to good quarterbacking. They just played Daniel Jones and Davis Webb and Brock birdie with one arm. And so when Patrick Mahomes comes out there, they have no answers to that test. And so I thought the chiefs would be able to score. I wasn't. And the one other thing I'll say about the game is because the chiefs lost a Super Bowl because they couldn't block the other team's front. I thought it was very unlikely that with two years to prepare if that were to happen again, that mahomes being to me and read would lose another Super Bowl for the same reason. Now they almost lost the Super Bowl because Jalen hurts was just awesome. I mean, he was just awesome and I give him a ton of credit, but yeah, so the eagles offense did better than I thought they would. Yeah, the defense was terrible with the eagles and got confused on two easy touchdown passes with mahomes, which to me was mind baffling. It was like mind boggling that slay got lost there and all of a sudden these guys are wide open and it's not Kelsey who's wide open. So that to me was kind of alarming there. They don't get to mahomes at all. And I go back to the play with hertz, it should have been 27 7 and a half time. It like it felt like the eagles had dominated that much. And the fact that they went into halftime only up ten, and I say only up ten because that's nothing from mahomes. That's where I thought, you know what? The chiefs can win this one. So the chiefs were plus four ten. On the live line at halftime. And that to me was insanity. Especially because they were getting the ball to start the second half. Now maybe part of that was people thought mahomes was really injured. And if mahomes doesn't come back out, but the mahomes double digit comebacks now, Dan. The numbers here are jarring. So mahomes and his career regular season and postseason. In games when he's down ten or more at some point, wins, 58% of the time. Yeah. No, Tom Brady's second best at 39%. Mahomes career playoff double digit comebacks. He now has four.

"He's Nick Wright. The popular co host on Fox Sports one first things first and I had a great Sunday there with the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl. Congratulations, Nick. Thank you, Dan. But this does put a lot of pressure on me now into 2023. I gotta tell ya. Okay. Well, as I'm sure you know, I was, you know, recently named the most accurate sports pundit of 2022, and now in 2023 starts off with, you know, me nailing the entirety of the playoffs. It's just, you know, you try to keep this run going, you know, I know many people in the industry fell in love with the Buffalo Bills. They had a brief flirtation with the Miami Dolphins. The eagles were the better team. The Bengals were the better team and little old Nick Wright said, you know? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the team that has clearly the best quarterback we've ever seen in the best coach currently coaching, that team shouldn't be an underdog and back to back playoff games one at home and one on a neutral site. And because of that, you know, and the fact that it's my hometown team as well and, you know, I'm gonna be in the parade tomorrow. It's just a lot going on here, Dan, but I made time for you, my friend. Are you gonna be in the parade? Yeah, of course. Would I not be? Don't be sir. I mean, I mean, me and Paul Rudd, I would assume are the two most famous Kansas City and now that Harry Truman's no longer with us. I'm not sure who else is in the discussion. Eric Stonestreet. Well, of course, well, Eric, I thought, you know, I should have mentioned that because there are stone streets a friend, he is also in the parade. Or at least involved in the festivities. I did not mean to not mention Eric. I was already, I was just talking to Derek the other day. We're in a Kansas City, you know, the Kansas City elite group chat. Is what we're in. So not a lot of beaches there. Not a lot. Not a lot of us. Not a lot of people in that call. But that's okay. That's all we need. More do we need? Yeah. What's your hometown, Dan? Well, I'm from Cincinnati. From Cincinnati. Oh. Most famous Cincinnati and Jerry Springer's got you. Sorry. I paid cash nut check. By the way, happy Valentine's Day. Oh, thank you. Do you as well? We can talk about whatever you want, but just make sure we have two minutes at some point in this for me to tell you a great story about your long lost, great producer mclovin. Okay. But we can do it now. You want to do it now? Yeah, sure. Okay, let's do it now. Okay. So Friday night at the Super Bowl. I'm at the casino as I'm often there. With my wife, who you know, her best friend in the world, Nicole. And the guy who produces my radio show my TV shows, Hubbard, and there's a big party going on, Shaq's fun House. And we were already planning to go to the Drake's party later in the evening, but it was early, and I was like, why don't we stop by Shaq's thing?

Same with <Speech_Male> me. <Speech_Male> As much as you <Speech_Male> thought the Lakers <Speech_Male> wasn't going to work, <Speech_Male> you still felt <Speech_Male> like I did. But they have <Speech_Male> LeBron and AD. <Speech_Male> LeBron. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> They'll probably <Speech_Male> figure it out. You know, <Speech_Male> now they're in another <Speech_Male> world. But now <Speech_Male> I would say, and <Speech_Male> I'm like, <Speech_Male> everything <Speech_Male> to me is based on the mandate <Speech_Male> in New York and Kyrie, <Speech_Male> if kairi's a 100% healthy, <Speech_Male> I'm picking the nets no matter <Speech_Male> where they finish <Speech_Male> in the standings. I think <Speech_Male> they get to the final. <Speech_Male> Durant is just an <Speech_Male> otherworldly, <Speech_Male> like he is an insane <Speech_Male> offensive <Speech_Male> player. And Kyrie, <Speech_Male> you could <Speech_Male> see it. Like in recent <Speech_Male> games, when he's on, <Speech_Male> he is <Speech_Male> the perfect compliment <Speech_Male> to him. Like he puts up <Speech_Male> some massive numbers <Speech_Male> out there. And I think Simmons will give <Speech_Male> them something <Speech_Male> before the end of the season. <Speech_Male> But <Speech_Male> I'm going to go bucks <Speech_Male> and sons to come <Speech_Male> out. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I like it. <Speech_Male> You know, Durant <Speech_Male> and we should say <Speech_Male> one thing about it before we <Speech_Male> go. Because I <Speech_Male> watched that <Speech_Male> game Sunday. <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> one of the things <Speech_Male> that happened in that game that <Speech_Male> I could not believe <Speech_Male> was <Speech_Male> Durant when he got <Speech_Male> to 53. <Speech_Male> I'm not sure who <Speech_Male> I think it was Doris Burke. <Speech_Male> I'm not sure who was calling the <Speech_Male> game. Said, <Speech_Male> he was one <Silence> off his career <Speech_Male> high. <Speech_Male> And I said, one <Speech_Male> off his career high. <Silence> I was like, <Speech_Male> wow. <Speech_Male> The most naturally <Speech_Male> gifted <Speech_Male> score of his generation's <Speech_Male> career high <Speech_Male> is 54. <Speech_Male> Meanwhile, <Speech_Male> a guy of the <Speech_Male> same generation, <Speech_Male> his career, his <Speech_Male> month high is <Speech_Male> 56. <Speech_Male> Like, that's <Speech_Male> interesting. <Speech_Male> Yeah, LeBron. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> you're telling me LeBron <Speech_Male> James and you're 19. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> His season high is <Speech_Male> higher than Kevin Durant, <Speech_Male> the greatest score efforts <Speech_Male> career high. <Speech_Male> I mean, that's just one of those things <Speech_Male> that makes you <SpeakerChange> think. <Speech_Male> It's kind of surprising. <Speech_Male> I mean, it does, <Speech_Male> it just like Jason Tatum <Speech_Male> 60. That was a <Speech_Male> big deal. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I think <Speech_Male> it's probably on 48 <Speech_Male> shots. I got to go look <Speech_Male> at the box fort. <Speech_Male> I love you, man. <Speech_Male> Check out. <Speech_Male> Check out check <Speech_Male> out what's right. You can <Speech_Male> describe that podcast <Speech_Male> everywhere, Nick, of course, <Speech_Male> first things first every <Speech_Male> morning. On your podcast, <Speech_Male> Nick, consider the segment <Speech_Male> that I <Speech_Male> would be happy to join <Speech_Male> for <Speech_Male> called, would you trade <Speech_Male> jaylen Brown for? <Speech_Male> If you decide to do <Speech_Male> that segment, <Speech_Male> I will happily <Speech_Male> come in <SpeakerChange> prepared <Speech_Male> with a list. <Speech_Male> And before <Speech_Male> I go, I have to <Speech_Music_Male> say this. <Silence> Brown. <Speech_Male> Good contract. <Speech_Male> You know what I mean? <Speech_Male> I was wrong. I was <Speech_Male> wrong about jaylen Brown. <Speech_Male> I <SpeakerChange> underrated <Speech_Male> Jalen Brown. <Speech_Male> I write about <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> everything else <Speech_Male> many names <Speech_Male> related. But <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> I was wrong about <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> the jail and <SpeakerChange> brown <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> contract. "And it's like, but they're not, so Luke is yours what I'm saying, it's like, because the nuggets could be a great team. They could be a great team, but they're missing two guys. So now they're, to me, the nuggets and Mavs rosters with Porter junior and Jamal Murray gone. They're very similar. Two exceptional, you know, number ones, and then a bunch of guys. But like, because Luke is nobody's injured for Luke, just this is the team they've built. And because they screwed up on the Chris steps thing, he doesn't get that benefit of the doubt. But the so I just want to dig just further into the jokic thing for a moment. Because I did have Bobby marks tweet to me. There are a lot of GMs that would take jokic number one overall for every player alive. Okay, those GMs should be fired. That's not a legitimate opinion to have in a world where Giannis exists, let alone Luca, let alone if you're like, I think I get another 6 years out of Kevin Durant. Like those guys are on a different level. Set LeBron out of it. And then you've got people throwing the people that throw the stats at me. The advanced stats. That say, well, you know, he's having the best season ever. And what amazing thing is it just trumps the season. The second best season ever, which was jokic last year. That tells you what the people don't understand that are so married to it. If that is what your algorithm spits out, then there's a flying the soup. Then you've got to tweak it because it's the same thing that says, hey, you know what? We've done that. We've crunched the numbers and David Robinson was a better player than Shaquille O'Neal. Get out of here with that. Stop it. And so that's what's frustrating me is that there is and manage you know this. I know the numbers. I respect them. I'm not a guy that's like, oh, there's nerds ruining the game. My best, my best friend in the league is Daryl morey. So of course I know the numbers, but it's over the top. And now I'm going to say one other yogurt thing I want your opinion on 'cause you're a voter. And everyone says this shouldn't count, but I think it should..

"Just the gravity of it. Just hang out there. I agree with you. Listen, there's a world that exists where they realize, hey, where the Los Angeles Lakers, we're going to pay the luxury tax and we're going to keep Alex Caruso. If for no other reason than to flip him for something because he's super valuable. But that's that and where they, you know, they don't trade for Ross and this seems really good. And by the way, a wide open west because Phoenix is an a level team, but Phoenix also the Chris Paul injury thing concerns me not because he broke his thumb, but just because kind of scarred by it and it's hard to play back to back hundred game seasons. You know what I mean? And after Phoenix to me, there's no great team. Like in the Western Conference. So there's a world that exists where the Lakers are right there. That's not the world we live in. But there's one last Lakers point that I want to make on this. And it's one of the reasons why I get so irritated with the way some of the media protects Genie Boston rob palinka. And I get it. You know, Genie is friends with a lot of these people and I understand how this happens. But everyone is just like is killing LeBron for the rust trade that obviously he pushed for, but obviously the team signed off on. That was at least there was like a cost benefit analysis there that people are doing. It was done wrong. Letting Crusoe walk because you don't want to pay the luxury tax when you're the goddamn Los Angeles Lakers is mortified. And it wasn't, it was nothing but a check you have to write. It was whatever crypto's paying for the naming rights. Yeah, that covers it. And even if it's just to pay the luxury tax for a year to then flip him for draft picks, fine. You just can't let you are the Lakers, LeBron delivered you a title and delivered you Anthony Davis. You owe it to him and everybody to not be cheap a year later. That's the front office in that ownership. And all that gets glossed over with the rust up. Now, on that point, I completely agree. I mean, I look at the Lakers organizational structure. And I'm flabbergasted. This is one of, if not the most lucrative teams in the NBA with a license to basically print money and they are being operated by, look, palenque is a good basketball guy, has been in the business for a while. I get that and he did help deliver a championship. But you are empowered, Kurt rambis and Linda. His wife and weighs in ways that no team in the NBA ever would. You are apparently if you're listening to Jeannie buss, still taking the advice of Magic Johnson, like still, you know, taking his temperature Phil Jackson. And Phil Jackson, I forgot about that. That was the latest one. Yes. Sales in there and filled in there in the latest thing. How about the next Nick? You look at message sending, right? I don't know why LeBron just arbitrarily brought up Sam presti. That was interesting. He can say the media is making too much of it. He brought up Sam presti on his own. That was a question about Josh giddy and he popped that up on his own. But if you hear that, I can tell you, and I was writing this last year..

It's like a fully produced television show, but also an audio form. And my sidekick on it. And not quite my goal is my sidekick on it is my son. And so you know what I mean? Yeah, so the bronze really following in my footsteps with the whole trying to work with your son thing. Like, I'm the one getting the ball rolling on that there. But where do you want to start? You want to start with people are mad at me today about Jayson Tatum. I saw that. I saw that. I don't entirely disagree. Disagree with me. No one asks. No, I do disagree in part because I think there were several names on that list I would put Tatum ahead of. You had, you had Paul George on that list. I would put Jason Tatum right now ahead of Paul George. I think Paul George is still a high level guy. But I think Tatum has not eclipsed him, but snuck past him. Can I ask you a question? Didn't you think Paul George early in this year before he got hurt? Was playing fantastic? Did you think in the playoffs he played really, really, really well? Last year, I did. I don't know. But he played well. Look, I think that's an arguable point. Jimmy Butler, I believe on your list, arguable point. The best player on the finals team and see if Tatum does that ever in his career. I'm not sure he will. I think Jimmy's got a few years on Jason, but why don't we leave that play out? I'm trying to remember, I've taught me who else was. So the other controversial ones, keep in mind, I had Tatum 18th. I did not have I had him, I did have him ahead of guys who didn't make the list. I had him had a Kyrie, and some people's Kyrie is one of those guys, people are like, oh, he's top ten guy when he plays. And that's even if Kyrie were playing full time, I had him ahead of Trae Young. A guy who, you know, is a 30 and ten guy last year to be in Conference Finals. The young players I had ahead of him that I think are the most controversial ones are Donovan Mitchell, Devin Booker, John morant. I think John morant is going to be unanimous first team all NBA this year. I think he deserves to be. He's the only guard to me that's a lock.

"That would be kind of disrespectful to the sons given the phoenixes the defending Western Conference champs and that Phoenix has a massive 7 and a half game lead on the warriors and grizzlies, and they've got the best record of the NBA, the sons are on pace for 65 wins. And so I wouldn't vault the wars over them as favorites, but like if we put the question this way, warriors at full strength, whatever that means right now. Versus the sun's, if and when they meet in a series, I think I lean warriors and that's no disrespect to the suns, it's more a matter of respect to who the warriors are and what they've accomplished and no, they're not the warriors of 2018 or 2015, but man, draymond green adds so many dimensions to them offensively and defensively. This season has been uneven in part because they had the draymond portion of the schedule at the beginning with no clay, then clay comes back and draymond's out, like last night's the first time those guys have meaningfully shared the court since 2019. So I think we should give it some time, but I do think that the combination of curry a still improving and getting his legs back under him clay and draymond and I think a really stout supporting cast now, who knows what weisman may contribute to them. He's just did some rehab stints in the G league. And klay's heating up, by the way, clay's last four games. Averaging 24 points, four and a half rebounds, two plus assists, 37% on threes, which is good for most people, but bad for clay. Like, you know, clay's a lifetime 40% three point shooter. And so he's not quite there yet on his three point shooting. But last four games definitely finding himself. And him and draymond being out there at the same time makes life easier for everybody. Like clay will get more open shots because of draymond. Steph will get more open shots because of clay and draymond. The synergy of those three that we really have not seen since 2019, that's what we keep an eye on, I think, over these last couple of.

"Friend be a horse? Nay. Uh, sorry. Get the PF black card and feel fits acular. Zero enrollment 22 99 a month, DIA Lance march 16th. C club for details. All right, I want to move on to Brooklyn and what we saw over the weekend when it comes to Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving. As most people listen to this podcast, know by now, is now allowed into the Barclays center can sit in the stands unvaccinated and without a mask. That's because New York has lifted its vaccine mandate. The Barclays center is lifted its vaccine mandate. So anything goes at this point in Barclays. However, Kyrie can not play because the city has not lifted its vaccine mandate for private businesses. If you are operating a private business, I believe of a certain size in New York, you have to have your employees vaccinated. So Kyrie can not play for the nets. However, over the weekend, he appeared at what the ACC tournament, watching duke play in the ACC tournament from a near courtside position. On Sunday, nationally televised game. He appeared, sitting courtside to watch the nets win over the Knicks. And that fueled the conversation about whether or not Kyrie Irving should be allowed to play. If he's allowed to sit in the stand, some people reasoned he should be allowed to play. I saw daris Burke on the air, described kairi's appearance there as visual absurdity, yet LeBron James, firing off a tweet with all caps and whatever he likes to do on social media. And Kevin Durant, after the game, you know, put the pressure squarely on the shoulders of the mayor, Eric Adams, saying effectively that the mayor in keeping this vaccine mandate in effect was looking for attention. Now, KD in fairness walked some of that back the next day, said he knows the mayor has a tough job to do there and all that. But he said it at the time and that created a lot of waves within the basketball community. So Howard, give me a reaction, you're a brooklynite, you're in New Yorker. I'll give you a reaction to watching Kyrie appear twice at Barclays center, not play in the game on Sunday, and then the subsequent fallout from it. I'm really having a hard time summoning the ability to give a crap to be honest. Let me be clear, Chris, nothing happened. Like, some stuff happened, but nothing happened. There was nothing, there's no news here. This was theater. This was bad theater. Kyrie showed up so he could thumb his nose at the mayor and the city and the mandate. He didn't show up for any other receipts. She showed him, he showed up so he could show his people up. The nets then aided and abetted him by letting him go in the locker room, which violated NBA rules, which got them find $50,000 because he was not there as a player as a player he wasn't allowed to be there as an employee, so he was there as a visitor and visitors are not allowed at NBA locker rooms right now. So they got fined. But nothing has changed. There's nothing new. Kyrie still won't get the vaccine. The vaccine that all of his teammates and all of his coaches and every single nets employee and 98% of all players across the league have had, he still won't get it. New York City.

"It's a whole new level for you and me, Chris. This relationship. Like and subscribe for the best weekly NBA content these two are capable of. What does that mean? It could be the best duo ever. I don't see how you can beat that. Here they are. Chris mannix and Howard back. And we are back crossover NBA podcast Chris mannix and towered Beck Beck and I are going to start the show a little bit later on. We'll be joined by Nick Wright from first things first. The resident Laker and LeBron defender, the resident Nikola Jokić hater, and he is going to join me for a few minutes on the show. But Beck, I want to start in the jokic sphere here. I was in Philadelphia on Monday night for the embiid versus jokic clash. I was hoping to walk away from that game with maybe more of a clear idea of who should earn my first place vote for MVP at the end of this season. I didn't leave with that, both them played great games, different games, but great games. Denver one, but that had more to do with bones highland going crazy and, you know, good for bones island doing that on national TV, doing it like 45 minutes from where he grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, doing it in front of more than 500 people that came to see him. Now, sometimes when you hear like they were like 500 people in the crowd, you think that's an exaggeration. I can tell you it was not. There was at least 500 people there for bones island in Philadelphia on Monday night. And it was pretty cool to see to watch him kind of go off like that and all and really getting the recognition for not only what he's accomplished, but everything has gone through over the course of his life. But jokic, it lived up to expectations and beat had 34 points. Yokochi had 22. He also had 8 assists with that, the 8 assists were all of the remarkable variety. I mean, the guy is as gifted a passer as we have in the NBA. I mean, I'm kind of done at this point, Howard saying, the jokic is the best passing big man in the NBA. He's got to be in contentious the best passer in the NBA period. Point blank. I mean, he's that good and throws passes with that type of position. So I'll give it to you there. What did you think of jokic versus embiid and did that do anything to influence how you plan to vote? Real quick, two things. One, jokic is one of the greatest passers in NBA history period..

"There's really up on your lv and then it became kind of flat is it. Yeah but when k. Came in and kobe came in. It wasn't like they took the nba by storm. And and then you know we wondered if that would scare off some of these players who wanted to come in right away. Yeah mclovin yeah. You're i would say there's guys weren't good like maybe we'll like she said well flip flop back to where they'll go straight to casualty bring like there's no perfect answer. Is there well. The nba doesn't want to get younger. They the nba extremely young and there was always this concern of. You're taking somebody who's eighteen years of age giving them money and then they're going to be traveling playing against grown men. You're gonna live that lifestyle you're like thrust into that college at least a one and done gave you the opportunity to have somebody else manage your world and then when you go into the nba. At least there's a little bit of a buffer zone there now. If you're coming right out of high school you need to have people there with you. You're eighteen years of age and if you don't play well you sit on the bench. You're still making money. Did you get into bad habits. Now those are the things. That would concern me. If i'm the commissioner of the nba. Adam silver that. I want you to have some seasoning. The nfl benefits. Because you can't come out until after your junior year your third year in college. You're at least you have three years of a college education. you're in situations on campus. You have to grow up. You have to balance a checkbook. You have to pay rent car insurance like there's just things that you have to take care of then when you come into the nba or nfl. It feels like you're a little bit more acclimated to something like that. Yeah polling and college. Football has such an advantage because trevor lawrence could have been the number one pick after sophomore year so low leonard fournette could have been a top ten pick after software. I'm guessing gw clowney. Could've they'll never let it go. The three years sing with college football because it helps them with storylines new star. Powering back every time. Nick Wright on Kevin Durant throwing shade at LeBron, talks paying Dak Prescott and more

"Wanna go to Nick ride on this. Kevin Durant for the second time in two weeks has taken a shot at LeBron James called him toxic plan with LeBron's toxic. And then yesterday mentioned all these great players all time and put kyri in and not LeBron. So Nick, right. First things first, we the cower global satellite network. Let's talk about that. I mean, what what did you make Durand comment? I don't think they're a coincidence. Neck. I think he I think he is deeply bothered that he moved to Golden State won a bunch of titles and people still don't put them above. Lebron? That's my take. There is obviously indefinitely some insecurity factor. As far as what more do you want me to do? I I wanted to finals I won the finals with jump shot a jump shot over LeBron. I won the finals the next year with a jump shot in the exact same place. But as you just said, just objectively speaking, he's not better people who know basketball. No, he's not better. But I also think listening saying Kobe's one of the two greatest players of all time isn't absurdity Kobi's as great as he was not one of the two best players of his era. That's LeBron and Dunkin, but that's neither here nor there but about a year ago. Kevin Durant on one of his many podcasts. Bill Simmons talked about the different way that he and LeBron go about their off-season preparation, and he said something I thought was really telling he said LeBron works on his body. I work on my game. As if he didn't see that. Lebron? Was working on his body in order to prolong how long he can play the game. Because the guys seem mentioned are guys that I understand like whether it's footwork worrying Kyrie's case raw dribbling skill or touch on a jump shot. They all might have something on LeBron will the bronze got on. Everybody is the body. He's put together which has allowed him to not only get to the rim. But to be on injured. I don't think that's something from a basketball perspective Durant, fully respects. Yeah. Because it is obviously the opposite of what he has Durant has made the most anyone could ever make with a muscle massive around what I have which is remarkable feat. But it is not comparable to what we see for most other NBA stars. By the way, there's a rumor today colline Kevin Durant to the clippers again, I'll believe Durant's gonna leave. I don't think he has the guts to leave Golden State because he would get crushed. And if he goes to LA and LeBron gets Anthony Davis and he's on the second best team in LA. It's a bad look for him. I don't buy this move. Do you buy it? Are. So I do think I disagree with you. I think Kevin Durant is going to leave. I think he not only has the guts sleeve. I think leaving could it be the only thing to enhance his standing in the league. But the only thing if he leaves he I believe he can't do or would be crazy to do is injuring to another situation where we don't know who the best player is that. So that means he he's already in one of only a handful of situations. He could be in. We're at teammate is arguably better in Steph. So we can't go to the Lakers. And that also means he can't team up with Kawai Jaanus, Anthony Davis LeBron. That's it. So if if it's about winning championships, obviously should stay in Golden State.
