"And they can't handle a bill parcells the can't handle a Jon Gruden. And they never. Ever recover. You know what's interesting with Dallas? When Jerry has allowed for a big personality Jimmy Johnson's big personality. Barry Switzer's a big personality bill parcells big personality when you allow that and wasn't threatened by the cowboys won. In Barry Switzer was not a great NFL coach. He's legendary college coach, but he won. But when Jerry has hired guys, he can control. That's what Al Davis did Mike McCarthy and Chan Gailey and Jason Garrett and Wade. Phillips and Nice guys but they lack that leadership it. Right. He's failed every single time. It's the same with Al Davis when he had Jon Gruden and John Collect this and that but he's a leader John is alien got a Mike. Tomlin Pete. Carrollton you walk into a room. Jon Gruden has a presence bill. PARCELLS has a presence Barry Switzer's got a presence Jimmy. Johnson's got a presence Jason Garrett doesn't doesn't mean he can't coach, but he didn't have a presence. There becoming the. The last seventy years with Al Davis like he couldn't take him seriously. Like. They were running their business different than everybody else the cowboys have become to a fault a family business too insular will not take out side opinions. And I don't think Jerry this morning's mad at that guy asking the questions. I think Jerry's embarrassed. I think he's a smart guy who made a really bad choice and he knows. There's no way out but to get rid of Mike McCarthy. So coming up next. I know you get tired of this I mean beyond getting tired of me. That I make Brady. Lebron comparisons. But this is the best one yet and it's unbelievable. The buccaneers of already won the NFC. Just like Lebron took over the West just like that. John's what I'm wearing right now would have been wearing for years. So after last night's Monday night football game, we've got five teams. I WANNA I wanNA stack up all the five win teams not named the buccaneers. In the NFC Seattle. Not Events. Green Bay can't play physical. Arizona talented, but inconsistent. Chicago no offense rams some stars good. But don't feel really special. And then there's Tom Brady. In Tampa Bay the NFC's always been deeper than the AFC and I believe it is there's fewer crappy teams. But the top of the NFC is weaker. and Tampa Bay is easily this morning the best team easily the the gap between Tampa Bay and two is much greater than the gap between say Kansas City and the two or three or perhaps the four. In the AFC for twenty years all we asked in the AFC was who is going to beat Tom Brady. That's all we ask for twenty years. The NFC though was a carousel of good team Seattle San. Francisco Carolina. Got To a super bowl Philadelphia in green. Bay As. Very Good Tom's been here seven weeks it's over. It's over like they're easily the best team in the NFC, it is very Lebron to the West for years. We all talked about how good the West was. And then Lebron got out here and you're like, well, Portland's kind of small and defend in the back court. And Dallas is interesting but way too young and then there's Houston and they're small and talented they're always talented but dysfunctional and the clippers. They've got good players but where's the leadership and you wake up and you're like Lebron just breezed through all of them. The NFC look so much tougher for years and years until. Lebron arrived in the West and Brady arrived in the NFC I saw this in the Sec sec fans we got Tennessee and we got Florida. We Got Georgia. We got Lsu we got Auburn in Nick Stevenson. That's adorable. Arrived all their coaches got fired four times. The SEC is all about Alabama and save an Urban Meyer takes over Ohio state everybody looks small. He didn't lose a game for two years folks. There's a lot of good out there. There's not a lot of great. There's not there's not a Lotta sabe there's not a lot of urban. There's not a lot of Lebron there's not a lot of Brady. He's been the NFC for seven weeks. WHO's number two in the NFC today Green Bay, watch them. Play over second quarter. You go to the AFC right now Kansas City's number one and I got my herd hierarchy top next hour I got an argument Tennessee matches up with them. Pittsburgh does know Baltimore's feisty. I mean it's Like trend Ofer talked about this yesterday it's it's the accountability. The passionate Brady and Lebron and the account ability to demand. You are all in. You are completely committed to.

"But as I've gone deeper into it it's become much easier to deal with Nada as I I will just say someone osmium decide on drink and if that pushed me about morale guy into my store real of turning around my health and quite frankly betty such a precious gift that to to undo that I think would be a horrible situation so that that's really guy now but in the beginning it was tough. I didn't know what to say to felt embarrassed. Apologetic in those early days. Hiding in the corner with my verging. Gin and tonic hoping that nobody would notice what was in my class. Nobody was released but interested. But you always feel so self consciously those those early days as you say you get more competent over the years. When these days I enjoy saying I don't drink alcohol. It feels like a superpower. Enjoy watching the look on people's faces. You can help a lot of fun with it if you could go back in time and talk to nick who is busy getting trashed with these banker. Friends what would you say to him? I think the number one message would be to quit soon because you will have the benefits for longer. I'm really disappointed I to be deep into my fourteen flights. A decision if identity early in my forties or perhaps even cities. I think it would have been far. Better result yeah. Yeah I agree. That's why I'm so thrilled when I see a young person that show. I'm thinking well done you getting this. The right time you nipping in the bud before it gets out of him. What have you learned about yourself? Since teaching the news. I guess this journey's being two things that's being extremely tough in the beginning end. It's also been extremely rewarding so and I think when you go through tough things do tough things you come out much more resilient and capable at the end of it doing something that already full was impossible And and so you know you can do anything you put them onto. Once you've done something like loose. Yeah well as you know. The wet shops with two people at the beginning of the day. This thing is doable. You might be in for tough few months but then it's done and I think once people get their heads around the fact that they're not going to be miserable for the rest of their lives. They start to feel better and they started feel motivated and they start to do the work. You're listening.

"What's forcing Nick Fi you? What benefits do you get from facilitating wet shops? I think there's two things that really make a big difference for me an end. The one is to be connecting with people that are on this very important journey. I think at that connection is really is really good and it just keeps me keeps me going even still in while. I'd draw to let the the various whatsapp groups and stuff that reporters just seeing. You'll find lots up every now and then with a reminded to. You're you're doing something really special Sets that connection and then I think living a very selfish existence in suburban South Africa I think liability to give something back is fantastic and I get tremendous Just fueled tremendous for doing it when we win. We have the opportunity so thanks Janet. I could say it's a wonderful thing you've made available to me. Oh well thank you for everything that you snake do remember while ago. We did a survey to people attended. Why shops on the results were amazing. We discover that forty four percent of the respondents to the survey had stopped drinking for good. I was blown away by. That was really thrilled so I wanted to ask you. Why do you think we get such good results from just one day workshop? We've got people coming along the way they've even been to rehab to member lady. I've been to Rehab ten times. And then she also be with us. Why into the white shows with nick was he'll fairy so I yeah? It actually seems bizarre but I think I it's a very good track record. I'm certainly proud to be one of your positive statistics. And and what is different and I think what is different is is perhaps too. That one isn't a strict rules based group and I think that's really important. Distinguishing factor. Way We light on rules in your adult get onto don. Do thing yes Some help support. But there's not none of these very strict rules Ovadia and you've got to follow. I think people get get some people. Don Enjoy that and I think as well we very informal and I think that is in that that four matches is is resonates with with a whole lot of people And then August as I've seen as we've gone through this you know when you and your people about the sort of what do you drink when you're done drink and so forth. What is every single person is very different and so I think this approach that you have works better for people that have different needs so is rated good system for certain people identified covers the entire demographic. Tell me what you say to people. When they feel entering these days I know used to mix with those heavy drinking bankers. You'd be out entertaining clients. I think he's still arush now. Cheese Tim. I mean this question was probably one of the most difficult for me to deal with in the early.

"So remind me how long it is that. You've been alcohol-free now so in February. It was three years. I can't believe we've been communicating for. This loan. Was the very decision I could ever have made. I must be honest. The only thing goodbye to alcohol podcast from wealth. Without wine so nick. How do you feel I feel fantastic And and I guess the the improvements of have been incremental and sustained through the period. So it just gets better. It doesn't it doesn't get worse indeed sides as you know I I was not in great shape Medically I think physically. I'd I turn things around so the lost decade of of lost a lot of white And I've been on quite a health journey but you know there was always something missing so now it go for these Every month at the time on my doctor would look at a guy and now he's slowed by the way to do what happened after I'd stop drinking immense after that are in full my next taste and my doctoral Masella Phychi. She couldn't believe how dramatically many of turned around to get into the normal range and so rarely the effects of adrenal fatigue and Having had attended on very quickly and enter two years before that with the various medications and supplements Dramatic turnaround a as you had suggested. We started talking. You said this was probably the biggest health initiative Mike and I. I didn't take you seriously at the time but it was and and it's very pleasing thinking straight. Some of the good things that happened since he stopped drinking a number one is certainly the health turnaround that I've had and we've just spoken about someone guy into more details on that. The second one is something that sort of any become conscious of a euro two. And that is that you will. Performance improves significantly an NF. I feel a much more effective and I'm much more focused on what I'm doing so so that's really been good and sort of allied with that. Both sort of at a personal level ended away table. I'm making match bitter quality decisions in every aspect of my life and so the camera greats and and I guess as well I'm sitting already powerful example to my children through the decisions of maiden and all making now.

"And stuff stuff that stays behind. You know because you don't want to have some plug all of a sudden plot to get into their Joel's. Let's try to lighten the mood. A little some quick hits and first of all before we get into them by tweeted this out. Yesterday we talked about it before the show. It's twenty three years this week since for me personally one of the greatest moments in the history of the NBA. No you're a huge NBN fan. And that was Alan Iverson's crossover dribble a Michael Jordan. Where actually Jordan afterwards? It's funny I. I tweeted out from a sports center on this Jordan. Who had a bit of an ego justify because it's kid wrong says it ain't bragging if you just say it then you back it up? He was very gracious about it. It's very quick. And whatever Scottie Pippen who in that segment wing is stupid. Beret? Little bit less. There's carried to carry every time. I don't care if it's a carry. Alan Iverson did it. That was special. I remember Ringo crossovers right. No one does it better than him. It was absolutely it was so sweet. So big shoutout to answer I more mundane stuff from the world of actually. Somebody said he was. Somebody said Iverson was the Ronaldinho of basketball Let's bring up gene-o shows it's going to cheer us up. Sometimes you stories go around the world. That's weird story about Ronaldinho in prison in Paraguay. Help US OUT. Yes he Was due to good spar itchy oven him and his brother who's also his agent and virtual Roberto Yeah And when they arrive Aspirin so now reports and they get the passport. Accustoms guess what? It was effect by spot for an genius. Who wants who still high British passport detained in Brazil because of taxi shoes and and all sorts but he thought it was a good idea. I don't know how much knew of it or not but that he would go to us in Paraguay with a fake by spoiled by the way you know in your passport when you've got your nationality on his he says he's just been that's allies Paraguayan. I mean everybody in the world knows we're not not Paraguayan. It's always we should've Paraguayan. Yeah exactly you might think the border authorities are particularly good at identifying patterns is pretty big in Paraguay and they would know Brandi New Power Gwen naturalist definitely so you go. I'm curious what he went to did. He say Lake Away. You think I'm running a junior. The football no have the exact same me. I'm different obey K. In both regular yeah so not the sharpest told the box. Obviously an brother was his agent as well think he'd be a little bit more. So Steve Nicol made the porn on the show on Tuesday nights. That players often don't know much about the travelers people look. I wasn't on the shoulder and did Stevie tell the story about when he used to travel under the English passport and didn't but yeah it was Nick Stevenson. Yes exactly know the peak peak Liverpool. He was hoping nobody would recognize. Actually I think it was an independent Republic of Merseyside. Nobody said that you know football players. They Derek Hatton was a prime minister. Yeah exactly but you know players you have everything sorted for you. Do you pass. And then the people did with your travel and everything so maybe Ryan. You didn't know much about it. Maybe just people did it for Stevie. Yeah maybe for Stevie. Nothing's different anyway so now that we're Anita was originally arrested. You can't travel with a fake passport. It was put into jail although he was hoping for a house arrest. That didn't happen so is in jail and and and there was a five aside game on Monday in Nigerian Paraguayan. We're not in your play then. Obviously he's Ta morning eleven to and the gas five goals and setup six other goals so as best. I guess it was only going to shine games or crazy story. Doing sends a little bit of media. Grandstanding here in terms of May look. We need to put this guy in prison like. He's a flight risk because nobody would recognize on Kenya. Yeah there's maybe it'd be left out everybody's talking about sort of dollars you know so much with reliever everywhere in the world of football the handshaking vodka the CEO of Borsa documents. It'd be cautious here more than others. What did he say that upset? So many people got we touched a little bit before right but basically his point is solidarity's fine and helping poor if clubs. But he's running. A business in some clubs have taken measures to have enough cash reserves. Other clubs in his opinion have not. This is a direct quote at the end of the day to clubs with made the effort or should I do this for the German accent. That's that's that's too soon at the end of the day. The clubs who have made the effort to put a bit of money aside. He's past years. Can't reward those who have not. We're running business on a market basis. And we're in competition with each other. So he's sounding like the grinch their jewels grace. It's it's grace I said. I'm sorry I know I know what you saying. And by the way this is something that I'm unique and cars from uneager came up with and say yes. We should set up a fund for the clubs who needs the money more than than we have. They've got news of money to open up by and other top clubs right but I would say yeah. We have loads of money because we've been response team circumstances. We're not asking you just on a random season all go and give two million to. Hey I agree with you and then in two point one is three point one is he's right. Let's create the fund. Let's make sure that only goes to people who need it not to allow certain rich owners to not put money and obviously there's different business model in Germany. Everybody's hurting but let's make sure the club. Does the money gets to those who need it. Not to potential free riders By the other one is PR wise? I don't know if he if he has a guy who looks after emerges shoots off the off the hip but this is absolutely disastrous. You could not you could not have hurt yourself more but coming on saying this definitely the other irony is bursch. Dortmund nearly went bust but ten fifteen years ago and they relied on other clubs including by Munich effectively loaning the money making doing certain transactions to live in the state of flow. So for him now to say now that by the way the nearly went bus not because of some global pandemic exactly because of irresponsible overspending for you now to come out and say ignoring the history of. Your own club man. I think it's absolutely horrible. I know I know everybody's piling on him and rightly so kicking when he's when he's done Dietmar Hopp having actually I mean did my hope company is lucky to be fair because he wants nothing to do with him but that's also said that they should have never stopped playing that it could have continue playing beyond cruiser with again. I think he's completely responsible. Is this Dr Hans Joachim? Not Those and you know even even stuff like saying that you could still play now and and even if a few players in your squad were getting the virus so fit and so this is so strong it will make any difference in. I'm thinking well you should have stayed at home now. Open your big mouth to the or wherever you get introduced to and just quiet for once because everything that was in the interview committee stupid. Which by the way on this point and if anybody I generally don't know I don't want to spread false rumors and it's not true but it has been reported in several places including I believe in France that professional athletes in general people are super fit are more susceptible to viruses. Yeah of course. Have you heard this? Oh yes. But that's why Valencia the third of their stuff and squads. Maybe just because they were all smooching each other. I don't know I mean because isn't it because He doesn't really know so now. I'm Dole out there. I just haven't reported if you if you know about this if you're a doctor and PD meteorologist or or if you even just you know. Share a link hit us up on twitter. I am curious about this but the idea that the same thing as you have to know exactly why they more exposed to end more likely to contract it but you know this is something that people have been saying. Speaking of professional athletes more likely to contract to viruses Mason Mount and Declan. Rice are the best. Young footballers in the Premier League. Doesn't necessarily mean that there was a brightest. Does it Jus got especially Mason? Mom who less remind everyone was under self a relation as all the Chelsea squad to stay home because of Callan Kalomo contracting the virus and the training ground being closed. And guess what I did. On Sunday he went to his local five aside pitch and pray five aside there with he's made Dick and rice. We know how close they are since a very young age when they were together. Just cutting me and I can't think of anything more irresponsible from Mason mounts to grow and do on the weekend on snow any day of the week to be fair when you read soared by your club who you know. Pay Your wages and everything. Just stay home. Did apologize for him. I know thank God it. It's because you should have never going to first place. I'm all for going. Play football with your Mason people that you don't know outside. Kiva MENTALITY FOR BODIES AGAIN. You enjoy all of this. Not when you've got pandemic like this when the viruses everywhere where you might have and you don't even know where and you could spread around to other people who might be more than than you. I mean this is just like even if you missing playing football you just need to think that and just not do it retrieves. How did we find out about it that he did he posted on Instagram? Or obviously someone took a photo and sort of give it whatever way to a tabloid newspaper in the UK within report. Today I think the headline was Egypt's something like that but she's deserved. I mean you you know. He's on slayer both young players. That was stupid to do. This is a very very foolish thing to do. Although just as an aside I'm pulled you have a large garden and football playing. Is that how you get your jollies playing? We do go basketball hoop like like you as well and we will play that hyper competitive and like not. Let your kids went. No I never do. I let my baby girl who's to win so you know she's got really good right for already really. Yeah I just don't know which country my kids who play for. Because they obviously have option things for them I would imagine if they become cricketers for for France. And if they become footballers can play for Wales. Of course whatever happens. They ain't playing for England though similar situation right and find that as much. The United surprised if you but I've triggered the extension close in Mattis contract which means they would be ron's or traffic for another season and there's even talk of pushing it further. Gobs just movies in these thirties. Study one that you want..

"It's the old southern about. How do we monetize it. And how do we position what we do. We have a saying like if my helping you grow up show show up liberal up. Your business already division is we we just say it's it's like we wanna stop trying doing dumb shit right so let's get the fuck out of your way and stop doing dumb sheep and the dumb shit is crazy along split shift one on one back for five sessions exhaust yourself full and hate and then i need a holiday after every three months so once they understand understand all those moving parts. We've pretty much spend we do that emotion three times a year because they need to know it to the point where they know how to assess suffolk romulo impeachment the shoda six exit and people the right excises and program on otherwise they don't get it so we don't just turn out pretty much. There's only that course we do a couple of offshoots. Yes withering like a strength costs three days at tarifa but yeah we've got some offshoots so we do some stuff off but then pretty much either that we have a purely dedicated like two weeks ago ran twenty five people with business build at cost which is basically the opposite of that it serves eighty percent skillset <unk> business by takeout psychology. It's the other way round trip outside i._d. Percent business twenty percents skillset run the model practice but they need to know how to write people don't know how to communicate. This is the problem people. Don't add to communicate this stuff. Also talk and ask ask you guys. What's your personal brand. It's like seriously as fucking borne. You wanna be cool and funny. When you talk about what you do so it's all of that those conversations that we have so that when we've got mastermind which must more neck is automaking three four five grand week they want to become more leaders that want to have china's underneath them or they're thinking about opening a gym or go running retreats like like we teach guys this stuff so there's a few levels mate and we also now actually do set up so we're crew grades. That's good because becua- nice does own poets much but you come out of the course and you've done literally anything and yet you've and prescribing exercises that could potentially break someone make them worse than they already are and that's probably the biggest one that i got from f._e._m._a. Is like nowhere someone's at and then sort of be able to problem solve you what what i can do with this person and way can take them on a saif <hes> <hes> jenny rather than just hoping that the survival of the fittest is gonna work out this template and then hope if they do j. t. They're gonna hopefully get some sort of a result against the wall and hope it sticks. This whole industries unregulated it. Anyone can do anything inside strength coach unfortunately might as you. It's about managing the benefits of risk of anything. Give him and make if we're gonna use these big lifts respect. You and i a relatively strong dudes. I would just say you old guy comes through a course now saying that fossil hustle. You're a fossil because we're all brought. I'm not really i'm thirty six five relative to the people who are you hanging out with twenty three and you know young dumb and full of cum fit but when it comes to these lists it does take a lot of responsibility. You're gonna get people strong and you're getting it on the bah and they have broken. You know it's it's. It's a worry so with with all that stuff what what what's been like in terms of working with buckley you he's. He's a 'nigma dot gov of message in several times to get him on the podcast but it's like like trying to call batman. You just going to put that summer. Scott says it's a little bottle hopefully rox up on the beach connor in the dominican but he's look and get him on your on your podcast spit. It's amazing. I think we're so different. I think about that. Book is a great book by the way the four tendencies by gretchen rubin. I don't know if you've ever read it fit what they took that. It's like it's so true and now i start to think about who talking to and what are they lock buckley the ease infamy. It's frustrating yet. It's awesome <hes> he's. He's what you call a question so a question is always wasilla worked at a wider perfecting make things better and so he's always changing stuff because we noticed what we need to change every time we noticed these gaps so so he's very good and having internal expectation because he holds himself to a high account but he's not very good for example when i say do these as through that duties if i ask for it when you ask for he does things aren't terms right so whereas up hold on more someone that's good at internal expectation also also really good when i have a coach as well but there's a problem in like that sounds really good but at the same time like when things change a lot i struggle with that and i'm just used to it now. You still like mock every october cost. We need to do that we need to do we need to fill that gap and because that's just what i realized it's like when we have these conversations we train is always the same always signed conversation so for example would building adding toilet queue sections on our website. I like have a conversation about my current. Clients was went to one and headed. We transitioned would semi private so we that building out entire content so that only son questions the catalog and this is what i'm saying like. We're always obsessed about that but the next thing would be to be honest. We're going to run a program that will launch overseas because the first way that we could probably get the best wins is to teach people silos in fucking broken may every salesperson of ever had coaching from or or that. I've read their one hundred years old. The shit's broken. It's just it's just they become very silenzi but aw look it's not the right energy and so we're probably going to do something like that around how to really position what you do and how do we focus on serving clients and comes the right energy and how do you start selling people into a thing. You know you can deliver on we. We're going to be filming something in october to take overseas because once we get a win what that might have to come to dubai locking. We already are in london. We've already been in london. We've already been in parts of the states like california and we do want to go off but a strategy is so easy people fly to us from all around australia. We're busy. I didn't really want to get up in our process at three o'clock in the morning. Talk to london luck. You know what i mean so so we could do it but i think like those kind of things is what people really need that need to learn espersen especially for almost had a monetize what they do and then we can take the skill set and do all that stuff to the next level so yes. That's probably with buckley always <music> scheming trading. That's the things i love it's like how do we keep our whole purpose like yours made. Feed your guys with great information as this is the same. We look at where they breaking down. What do we need to fix it to be giving these guys. We want and that's the whole purpose right. We wake up every day excited and do you still have a the other presenters working for you or is mocked. During the bulk of the i guess the practitioner of presenting now yeah we just simplified simplified everything what we found. Is that like anything. No one's really invested in your stuff as much as you are and we do have some up and coming main presenters. Let it go let nick stevenson. You'd love him being on your podcast because he's just a good kid. You know he's studied exercise. Science might say he's the only one out of mark on present and we did that for a lot of reasons but like you said this join shop. He's a very intelligent guy but he's not mark buckley and and whenever has the buckley experience. How did you find that yeah well. I mean he's the he's the guy who created it so it's two different experienced. You're in some yes but not to discredit john shop. He's <hes> he's probably one of the most engaging presenters of very unique skill set when it comes to to teaching but maybe not this is like no but this is like unlock at grew chick. John wanted to thank off and do his own thing. That's why spend three weeks night. Sorry six years with buckley. That's why gavin spent six years. We've buckley. That's why succession our expense reused buckley because i get good in and they want to do their own thing like i think that's natural but i think for us for a brand. People want that experience. You know so what we did it. This is the most exciting pot. I didn't run fifteen courses anymore. I run three. They come to a strategy a- i fly mock out every fifth three june and october nursing zony coaching three times so sorry only take three times per year yeah and it's awesome. We have people travelling coming from america. We have people traveling from new zealand from perth and they come to one spot where we had left the gold coast. It's awesome because as you know melons freezing fucking cold hold and we don't want to be here in june like say. I'll bet you don't miss this right absolutely amazing race tonight. It is stinking. Stinking is probably the offices forty two degrees. Yes so it's the other the other end of the scale. I feel sweating it out and getting a ten have a little bit up. You know i think so yeah. We simplified it. We went back to buckling. I and it's been awesome. We don't overdo it. It's like i think that got these awesome but then how we got we give us a lot more sports. We do a lot more online at kohl's like two times a week for the month. After the cost goes to a week the next month and then it's like two weekly league and then it's almost there again. We're almost coming up in october. Two our next one and it's it's awesome like honestly i actually work six weeks of the eh plus. A couple of business buildouts like loss pretty good night and that's how we've been out of work. It with visas works for us now. We're not slaves trying to fill a course and like these the things you lie on either night last me yet. What what are your can like. We touched on it before. But what are you say is the biggest gap in the industry three in areas that you say in sort of like maybe pisses you off that you say paypal doing the wrong thing. You're probably a little bit more outspoken the malian when when someone's doing something wrong in the gym yoga and tell them straight away but what is there anything now that you say is a glaring gap that in gaza trying to fill with much commercial g._m.'s thank god so i don't say it anymore and i think every patriots washing this any good would notice what we're talking about lack but as more that like i'm not gonna sit back bags someone. That's just not my energy. I'd rather in the narcisse white help him and save with mosquito. That's that's the energy. I always had as as you did as a tea bag. I'm going to help him but i think the.

"I was a big Danny Woodhead fan growing up because he's from Nebraska. He was chargers. Play with rivers in south Sudan, always watch them for his time there, but yeah, it's cool. You know, each each week even last week with flacco and this week, and whoever we have next the quarterbacks get so much, publicity and so much fame and stuff. But yeah, it's going to be very incredible play against such season bet like that. Harrison Phillips of the bills excited to play against Philip rivers. So there was a big Danny Woodhead fan fan. I think it's a good time to get Woodhead off of your roster given that he is retired. Make a note of that. I've got another name for your out their quarterback list quarterbacks. You could bring in. Oh, okay. Nick Stevens that you guys know who Nick Stevens, Joey, no, no clue Joe stomp. That's that's a tough name. Then he was in Denver's camp this year. And was cut. He was two thousand seventeen two thousand seventeen first team all mountain west for Colorado state. Second team. This is Josh Allens. Former conference second team quarterback all mountain west last year Brett Rippin of Boise state who is still there. He was junior. Well, there's that Nick Stevens. Nick stevenson. Maybe they saw him. They were scouting that league. Don play. Jalen, didn't you hear? They've seen. Everybody. Yeah. Here is Toby with us alot, Mike. I wanna apologize quarterback competition idea that I gave you is dumb. And I have no idea what you mean. Well, no, we we talked about I think grabbing three quarterbacks and having a competition. But obviously the Bill for me that was a terrible idea the Peterman thing he had me. I thought he was going to do the sheriff. But I mean, I'm not a valuation tank. They got they're not relying on me. But we should I just have Josh Allen start with the ones from the beginning. And then we pull back then. But I mean, look terrible. We everything's backwards. Gotta go in there with no, basically. So you're saying you've just come to this opinion. I have to admit that. I was wrong. Like, yeah. That's what you're saying. You've come to the opinion that Ellen should have been the quarterback. Well, we all know that now. Right. Like, we all know that now while we all know that that that that the whole training camp meant nothing. That's all we know. We know now that the guy and everything. On fire. So. We all know that now. I mean, that's right. Yup. I don't know. Almost every caller. We get to the show is a stranger to me. And so like, I feel like the person who calls to say Josh Allen should have played is necessarily going to be someone. That's been saying that. Because now what else what else is there to say now like now Nathan Peterman played. Yeah. I mean, even I mean, he's got to play. Now. I I right after the game on Sunday. He's got to put him in the can't keep going to do this again. This is a disaster. I respected the competition. All through the summer. I I mean, I did I I mean how else are you gonna decide who's gonna play? You drafted him. Therefore, he should play. Yes. Okay. I don't I don't agree with that. I think you're gonna you're gonna try to run the football team and decide which guy is going to be best. You gotta try to decide based on how they look in practice and how they look in meetings and how they look in games. And like that that's all I would do it. So I would do I would make probably the same mistakes they made I don't know that I would have necessarily ended up on Peterman, but it was credible to me. They did it. Hey, look, though, if you made the preseason important, how could you not have ended up on peterman'll? Right. This right. I mean, and that's how I would do it. So the lesson isn't there a lesson to be learned here? Would you do with that way? Next time. That's kind of what this guy is showing. You is. Hey, I thought Peterman would be good. I thought the competition was the right thing. I thought I guess training camp was worthless. And I'm like, yeah. That's just my opinion on that saying like you have to agree with us. But now it is reasonable to ask. What did we learn? You know, what did we learn the preseason comes around and not everyone. But a lot of people want you to notice every little thing that happens and put some meaning on it. And I don't know if it's just like some people do that. Because they have a talk show, and it has its feels like you have to do that. Or do you actually mean it when you say that I mean next time around what do you wanna do you want to have a competition or do you want to say this guy is the one guy with upside? And this guy is the one that matters here. So we're gonna play him. No matter what. Yeah. I I don't think I would ever do that. So I would probably risk doing the same thing and making the same mistakes that they just made because I think I would want to have a competition. I I don't think handing people. Jobs based on where I chose them, especially if they are described in advance of me even choosing them for my team as someone who's going to need time to develop in his raw. And all this stuff. I want to make sure before I put him out there that that's not the case. So I respected what they were doing. And how. And how they did it it blew it blew up on them, obviously. But I think I would still do the same thing. And just I dunno assume that the guy that wins the competition isn't gonna be historically laughably bad. And I mean, there's no way to know that. But is this a good is this a good debate? I think it is. I think most fans I think most people are exactly like you hear that it should be earned and I have said consistently. I think it was earned when they picked him and was should have been over when they picked them. But I think most people are more like you, which is well that that's not good enough. Why would you not have a competition battle almost every coach would say that almost every coach does say that the best guys make the team. It's how they get away with the preseason even existing anymore because almost all backups soon. It will only be backups. So they tell you that it matters. And you know, I guess enough people buy it. Tune extent I still do. Yes. I mean, I don't I don't believe just handing over jobs to people who've yet to prove that they are capable of doing them at the highest level. I mean, he was not all what conferences mountain. Well, I mean, he he was not decorated. You know? I mean, I think it's different. You know? I think if you choose somebody who has like what one. You know, what how much you win get someone? That was good. That was the quarterback of an eleven win team and has prolific stats and played against the best competition. It looks really good. Like, I might be more tempted to anoint that guy. I probably would talk like I'm going to assume he'll win the job. But I still probably wouldn't just give it to him isn't this? I had none of that. Sorry. Isn't this? This is a huge point to me. This is what makes Nathan Peterman popular in the first place. People like the most people who have regular jobs you are in your job. You have several co workers do about the same job. And let's say I'm sorry that I'm going to start out at least being very general about this. But you're at this company and seven or eight people are on the same level as you doing this job. And there's a boss and the boss leaves for a different moves to a different city. The boss goes away who will become the new boss and one day. You get a memo that says John Smith from castle. Pines Colorado is the new boss, please greet him. And we will have a we all need in the conference room to meet the new boss, John Smith and the seven or eight people on your level goal will help he doesn't know anything about buffalo. He doesn't know how to sell this product in this town. We're gonna have to show him. How to do it? He he does. Doesn't deserve it. Because. He just doesn't know the ropes like we do one of us should be the boss, and what is it? What is the company saying? No, this guy super qualified the fact that you've never heard of them doesn't matter to me. We pick him. We we know what we're doing. We pick him and doesn't have to be right. But that's that's what happens and when that happens in people's real lives. They're really upset about that. Sometimes you know, like, well why why is that fair? I don't think this was ever about or should ever have been about fair. Once Allen was drafted. He's the quarterback of the Bill. I don't need it to be fair. Like in in the sense that you're describing. But like I dunno regional sales managers aren't doing something that I can evaluate on the field. I mean, they're they're they're performing their job in the region that they're leaving to come here that that grants them the the opportunity that the companies giving them. It only I can only get so far with this with this metaphor. I I don't I'm I'm playing a sport. And I'm gonna watch you two side by side and decide which one he was better. I'm not gonna just give you the job because you are big and strong, which is basically what I would have been doing with Josh Allen. I think that's what they did. When they pick them. I think they picked him because he's big strong. And so for me, that's the framework. And I think it was pretty ridiculous that he was picked. And so once you do that. I mean now we're sort of in a place where we're talking diagonally. That's to me when you decided he was going to be your quarterback if Peterman were someone else who had done anything in the NFL who had been drafted high himself with you. If there is any reason to think, you would be successful. Then it's baby a different conversation. Yeah. It's not a perfect analogy. But I don't know. It's something like wet. When is the right time to decide do I need to see you to both be sales managers for two weeks or three weeks or can. I just decide you're going to be better at this. Anyway, here's rob next. I rob. Hey, how you doing guys? I appreciate taking my call. I was so basically I wrote a small business that's completely off performance based, and I think in the real world, it's totally preferential. And I think that it's definitely logical. I I kind of side with Mike, but I appreciate both of your guys points on this. But you don't have to by the way. We're not going to be mad. Nice of you to say it. But right. It's okay. I'm telling the truth is the reason I say it the way I say because as a small business owner. When I was in my position working my position, I was given preferential treatment just because of how good I was what I have my crap. So I I come from a different. I can understand how somebody can just be quote unquote, giving something. Okay. Thank you. Rob. Here's rush next IRAs. Question for you guys this debate, you're talking about do you think there's something like this debate? Or maybe something more simmering between Beane and McDermott on the one hand you've got the coach McDermott saying, hey, I like this guy. Being saying, well, I gave up a lot of assets. And I happen to like this guy. I wouldn't assume it no, I I I would I would more than anything assume that they are they are joined at the hip on all this stuff. But I wouldn't assume that either are you saying you would. Yes. I would I would assume that they are locked in on this. It just seems to me that the probability of Peterman going up in flames with higher than the probability of McCarron going up in flames trade away McCarron. 'cause the the coach says, hey, this guy's gonna start guy goes the GM says we're only keeping two quarterbacks. So you know, and I'm betting that this quarterback that we draft. It's going to be around your baby longer. You are maybe coach, you know. Maybe that could all be right. I think maybe I think your point about McCarron is correct. I agree with your point about McCarron that he had a lesser chance of being a tire fire..
