"Christopher sweeney boy. Oh boy i wanna tell you about this week's guest because i'm so excited to have spoken to him. He's one of my favorite instagram accounts. You slightly stopped. didn't you. got on the show. Was that scary. Maybe on instagram. He's good at gay therapy. Nick fake is his name and he is a therapist. He lives in new disarm san francisco. That's he does these brilliantly simple instagram posts with just a little piece of little nuggets of information that will enlighten you about the queer experience and we sat down with him quite a while ago. Wasn't it is a long time 'cause in my room at the top of my house in new york more than a year ago. Actually but you know. That's the thing about gay therapy. The issues don't go away honey. In fact they probably got more intense in the last year scratched the surface. But what is it is. I often think sam show is like a bit like doing therapy session. With is people 'cause we just ramble on and see stream-of-consciousness an open affecting our psychics in our bodies and our self image and everything that and it was so interesting to do this. But gus with an accident oedipus because the thing about therapists is that when your therapy you kinda you ramble on. And it was actually funny keeps. He's talking a lot always our guests. But let's say you know. I like there was a therapist listening to speak on another post. Emma gannon's podcast which is great. She just did have. Eds must've deport castle. The time i spent a lot of my number so diligent by podcast listening. But i love them so here i am hosting one. Who would talk but they took into therapist and they were saying you know. Mental health is becoming more and more of a thing that people are aware of but in for example in the uk to get mental health. Help on the nhs is a very long slow process. And if you're struggling you kind of need it now. Yeah but it's really hard to get now and what the therapist were saying. What happened to her so often is the people would arrive in therapy surgery. Having waited a year and a half and she would explain really really basic stuff about how the mind works. How your body works. Why you end up with anxiety all these things. She was such a shame that people out there can't just be told this so they can self regulate and learn. 'cause none of this stuff is difficult. It's actually really simple. So what gay therapy does is just. He teaches you so you learn really simple things about why people behave the way they do. Why things that you do. And a lot of is informed by being quick because it's about being an outsider in some way and how affects you. Yes that was what was really interested by this chat with started seeing those basic tenets of clearness afflicted through of psychological prism. He was fascinating and a very nice guy. You know easy on the eyes well. He's stone handsome listeners. If you haven't looked him up yet. I mean marry him. Without.

We have people in congress right now, we have people in congress that hey our country. And you know, that we can name every one of them if they want they hate our country. Yeah. I mean, look how else can you? Explain some such as Alexandra Kasich Cortez who wishes to fundamentally change our country. Have you heard that before have you heard somebody saying I want to fundamentally change this country? I think the last president said that. But what Obama was trying to do pales by comparison to the green new scam. Think about it. Every single gas engine band. Travel banned beef. They wanna get rid of beef. They want to demolish every building in America. To quote, unquote, rebuild it in a politically. Correct. Environmentally friendly way. That means you hate this country. It truly does if that's what you want to do to it with regards to the environment. I have to share this with you. Patrick. Moore is Patrick Moore is the original co founder of the most famous environmentalist organization in the world. There's a World Wildlife Fund, you know, cubby panda huggers. And all that stuff. But I'm talking about Greenpeace Patrick Moore is the co of Greenpeace what does he think of Alexander ocasio days? Well, we found out at the weekend because this man went onto Twitter to call her a pompous little twit that is what the co-founder of Greenpeace things a man who left Greenpeace interestingly why because he said his organization had been hijacked by echo. Fascists. I think we have to start using that phrase, and who would know better than the former co founder of Greenpeace because what we are seeing happened right now with the green new deal the green you scam. What we are seeing with those people such as Bernie Saez we played the audio on Friday who said what he said, the green new deal doesn't go far enough against the electric cars will be banned, and we'll be on bicycles that is fascist. So let's call it what it is EKO fascism. We're got to call it the green you scam. Oh, and the other thing language matters, especially when you building narratives from now, it's the green you scam. We call it echo fascism. And the last thing is and this wasn't me. But it was somebody. I was talking to it'll come to me who it was from now on it's going to be calm raid. Cortes, I think it's rather fitting why because she is proposing that which no other communist dictatorship successfully achieved ever in his lifetime. I said it from the main stage at CPAC, can you imagine? If Joseph Stalin had managed to ban cheeseburgers to make beef illegal to make sure everybody's walking around on bicycles rickshaws. That's the extent of the insanity. More of your calls and special guests here in America. I our number.

"Israelites were screaming at them, calling them, all sorts of horrible names, vile stuff. And then there's the what's his name. The native American elder comes up walks up right in the middle of them and starts banging a drum Nick sandwich face. Yes. Totally misrepresented and all based on one Twitter post that had like an eighteen second version of what was going on the media took Dan ran with it. So his lawyers are now filing a lawsuit again for two hundred fifty million dollars. Compensatory and punitive damages. Well, you had celebrities different people in the media tweeden things. Someone should punch him there were death threats. They say the we also learned that by him standing where he was was aggressively. Yeah. Were aggressive about standing there. I didn't notice this at the time. When savannah Guthrie did that interview with Nick. I didn't notice the pause there. It's almost like she pauses and says, it is what I'm about to ask really really stupid is the way that I'm framing this really bad at it is yes bet standing there is potentially very aggressive after you're a high school kid getting shouted out by grown men for saying that you fathered children with their sisters and all this all this gross stuff. Incest. Baby's future school shooters. Not to mention these words that were being bandied about that. I can't say on the radio. Yeah. But that was the thing about well, salmon, I mean, just the image of him with his hat and then the grin on his face. It struck terror and fear into Americans. They couldn't sleep for a week to what they say. I was thinking of that. And I'm like man, he scares me. Then you got Kathy Griffin out there saying I want these kids named so the lawsuit accuses the Washington Post of targeting him because he was white Catholic student wearing a red make America great again souvenir cap on a school field trip. To the March for life when he was unexpectedly and suddenly confronted by Nathan Phillips. Now, the lawsuit against the Washington Post. I don't know if that will really go anywhere because there's there's a separation between the opinion folks in the news folks in the news, folks, they may have jumped the gun, but they were reporting on a converse on a piece, I think there's a first amendment issue there. Now, if when it comes to sue and Kathy Griffin. I hope they take her to the cleaners whatever she's got left in the Bank because she was threatening them. She says I want these kids named I want them to be harassed the Washington Post. There's generally news outlets are given a lot of leeway because they're reporting on what's a news story. They may have reported poorly. But that doesn't necessarily mean there was ill intent, okay. But you can't prove facts were cherry picked the you didn't watch the entire video that in context, you just build a false narrative on purpose. I think you would have to. That one's hard to prove though, when it comes to just the news organization itself when it comes to Africa threatening. It's laughable. No, I don't think it really is. Because for most of us. I think what's going through your head. Is you see some of these outlets the way, they report stories every day and to say, you know, it's tough to prove that there's real bias people laugh their heads off. And because obviously there is but to prove it in a court of law under those rules. Yes, I get it. I think you also have to prove that they had ill intent towards these kids and wanted them to be harassed. That's the type of thing. And generally news outlets are given a ton of leeway with that. And I think most of the time for good reason. Because you don't you also want to still be able to give it a pension. You wanna be able to to actually report news as it's happening. All of that stuff. There's a reason why there are some protections in place again when it comes to people like Kathy Griffin or any film producers who were coming out and saying these kids need to be named and shamed. Good riddance to him and good luck with the lawsuit. I think they've got a good case. I just wonder if this will happen. You start to get into the nitty gritty of the suit with the Washington Post and all of a sudden the Washington Post realizes, holy crap. Man, there's going to be text that we got to put forth in this case their emails. This is going to be incredibly embarrassing. Yeah. It's going to make us look worse than we already do. Yeah. Maybe it's just best. We pay this off and move. It could be we'll see Trump has tweeted about it. Oh, yeah. Trump said the Washington Post ignored basic journalistic standards because it wanted to advance its well known and easily documented biased agenda against president Donald J Trump Covington students suing wop, oh, go get him. Nick fake news. All right. We gotta move to this other story because this is a lot of reaction across the country. This is a guy that was very upset seeing his stepdaughter being bullied. Yes. Police say James pieces, stepdaughter was being bullied by twelve year old boy she goes to school with. So she called her stepdad for a ride. "Up in an hour from now Bill McCarty, join us actually an hour and fifteen minutes. We'll talk about the Academy Awards. They should open the Academy Awards. You know, there's no hostess here. Right. So what they should do is they should open. It with stage opens up Robert mother comes out with sealed indictments, that's showbiz, baby. That's why I know. Anyway. The here where we are this this story about this coast guard officer, and and Trump's reaction are classic the story frightens me, I mentioned this earlier why not recently, but there's a great book by a guy named Richard Preston called demon in the freezer talking about how you could weaponized smallpox smallpox today. Only kills I think forty thirty to forty percent of the people infected, but you could create a strain that would kill everyone. You can weaponize it now. You know, there's not supposed to be smallpox anymore. We're rushing the United States had the last train they'd wiped it off the planet. And we kept it. We didn't destroy it. Why do we keep it because they had it? Why didn't they destroy because we had it? That can happen. Did you see the movie twelve monkeys with I mentioned before with? Bush Willison, and Brad Pitt frightening was a story about a weaponized virus? And I forget the character actors named the play the crazy guy you've always plays the same guy. But I only bring this up because the story that this what this guy wanted to do this coastguard officer, an white nationalist was allegedly plotting to kill democratic politicians and journalists, and he said that he wanted to he wanted to go out, and they they caught him with a cash or weapons, and they said, it's even getting more and more frightening when they discover what this guy had planned. But the the story that is parallel to this is let's compare jussie smollet in the in the hours after it was revealed that it looked like that he made this whole thing up and that he was being attacked by maga- loving bigots. Trump was quick to weigh in the tens of millions of people you insulted with you racist and dangerous comments. He wrote on Twitter. When that Nick salmon father lawsuit against the Washington Post, you know, the guy the Indian, and you know, the dude face to face that kid. He couldn't help himself either. He said go get him, Nick fake news. But more than twenty four hours after the news broke that a coastguard officer again, a former marine an avowed white nationalist plotting to kill journalists. Cricket. He doesn't say a freaking word. The same week though earlier this week he said he tweeted, the New York Times is definitely fake news and the real enemy of the people he won't rest until somebody shoots a journalist or blows up a TV station. Huckabee Sanders is this a quote, we have was his Santa's talking about this, Brian this is this talking about this. "Who has repeatedly called for an overhaul of America's libel. Laws vowing, quote, I'm going to open up our a laws. So when they write purposely negative in horrible and false articles. We can sue them in win lots of money, then we'll examine the hidden history of American empire, which flies in the face of our cherished foundation as a country forged in an anti colonial revolution and instilled with the popular belief. We are willpower spreading freedom and democracy. Having saved the world twice with are reluctant interventions in World War One and World War. Two historian. Daniel involve a professor of history at Northwestern University joins us to discuss his new book just out how to hide an empire a history of the great United States. And he shatters myths as the American Republic and shattered the misses the American Republic continues at struggle to survive the American empire. Then finally, we will look into why suddenly the maller report. It is about to be released following an acting attorney general Whitaker's recent hit it was close to being finished. And then the recent arrival of a new attorney general who auditioned for Trump and got the job because he was critical of the Malla probe. Jeremy Vinayak a research analyst for the Moscow project at the center for American progress who previously was an editorial fellow at the Atlantic joins us to discuss. Whether there is a move underway to protect the Republican party from the damage, a revelation of the extent of Trump's criminality and treason would inflict on the GOP and joining us now James Wheaton who has litigated all levels of the state and federal courts in cases, involving civil rights consumer rights environmental and first amendment law. He was a researcher for Ralph Nader center for the study for responsive law and is currently teaches journalism law at both UC Berkeley and Stanford University graduate schools of communications, welcome to background briefing, James Weeden. Thank you so much, and there's just Trump has been piling on. We know he's been attacking the press for the longest time. But he just on Wednesday tweeted out his refrain the enemy of the people in caps, attacking the New York Times. And today, it tax the Washington Post and supportive, Nick Sandman high school senior who was in Washington DC frenetic abortion rally, and he was seen in the video that went viral wearing a make-america-great-again hat smoking. In the face of a native American elder and Trump tweeted out, go get them, Nick fake news. So there's many more examples, but let's start with is there some coordination going on here. Tacking the New York Times attacking the Washington Post meeting with the wife of supreme court Justice, Clarence Thomas and then shortly thereafter, Clarence Thomas saying that the supreme court should reconsider it tonight in sixty four landmark first amendment ruling in New York Times versus Sullivan. What try to connect the dots here between what Mr. Trump has been tweeting. And what Justice Thomas did recently? In a case suggests we roll the clock back online law about two hundred and thirty years, but I don't think we need to do that. Because Trump has been formulating about unfavorable press coverage, even before it became president, the only kind of press coverage he accepts as legitimate is your funding flattery he and his tweets, I three quite honestly, I think we'd all you've got off. We spent less time paying attention to his tweets, which is just a tale told by a fool full of sound and fury, but signifying nothing. The president has no role whatsoever. In in libel law. So you can pull many at all he wishes, but it doesn't mean anything. It is dangerous for the president to be calling out specific provocations and even specific journalists for his anger because there are people out there who listened to that. And might react the recent story suggesting that there was a coastguard who were stockpiling weapons to go. After Trump's enemies is I should be a great concern to everyone. With regard to Justice Thomas. What where to start? He wrote an opinion suggesting that all of the law regarding liable, not just to your ties versus Sullivan was written more than fifty years ago supreme court, by the way is not in the business overturning precedents that are fifty or more years old, but he wants to wind the clock all the way back to seventeen ninety and restore the law and just for the listeners understand what that means. That means he would he wants the court to revive doctrine up criminal libel. That is any criticism of a public official that causes any kind of unrest is a crime and truth is no defense. I'm not making that up. He wrote that in an opinion. In other words, he wants to take back to the days where we had the Sedition Act any criticism of the president or congress was a crime and president Adams actually, put editors at newspapers in jail. For doing. So that's beyond the pale of embarrassing to be honest, even write things like that. But it also feels un-american in terms of the revolution, the revolutionaries, Washington, Jefferson, etc. They absolutely chafed under the British libel laws. The very lowest by the way, which they still have in Britain today, and in Australia and other countries. That's why Tom Paine became a pamphlet here. He couldn't get any any this criticism of the of the mad King, George printed. And they had these laws. It would put them away for forever in jail. And that's the very laws that Thomas is talking about reviving. I mean is he some kind of Tory? What what's going on here? It as I say it. It's almost embarrassing. You want to look away for for Justice Thomas to essentially completely forget our history as you so eloquently put it that the part of the reason for the revolution. And throwing off the British yoke was precisely because they were not allowed to criticize the kink. The declaration of independence was a revolutionary document. Not just because it declared independence by colony against an empire. But because it actually criticized the king by name and that was not done. We today in two thousand nineteen in the United States. Enjoy a nearly unfettered right to criticize those in public office. And where's the supreme court? Our debate is caustic and wide open. And so it should be and Justice Thomas somehow wants to take it back. But let us remember that Justice Thomas in his confirmation hearings. It was far worse than what Mr. cavenaugh recently went through. Because it was an actual employees citing chapter and verse of what Thomas did to her to harass her, and he is angry to this day about it. And so he just not support a vigorous free press. Now was Mr. Trump he seems to chafe and does not like a vigorous and free press. But the good news is neither of them is going to be able to do anything about it. Justice Thomas spoke only for himself. None of the other justices joined that opinion, and none of them will. And again, I'm speaking with James Wheaton who has litigated at all levels of the state and federal courts in cases, involving civil rights consumer rights environmental and first amendment law. He was research of Herath native center for the study and responsive law and is currently teaching journalism at both UC Berkeley and Stanford University graduate schools for communications, well, the Donald Trump has gone on the record vowing. I'm going to open up our libel laws. So when they write purposely negative in horrible and false articles. We can sue them and win lots of money. That's the that's the I guess the only virtue of Donald Trump is that he's not shy about about voicing his horrible. Sinister. Reactionary and destructive thoughts. You would think that he might be a little covert about it. But now he's out there in front y'all clearly has no filter. But I I think the funny thing is I believe he was later quoted as having been schooled by somebody with a little more knowledge about these matters than he has that actually the first person, I would get sued. We opened up the libel laws would be Mr. Trump himself who posts lies on a regular basis about other people the person who most needs the protection of a libel laws, quite honestly, just Trump himself right again. The president has no role whatsoever in setting libel law in hearing cases that he just has no role. So he's just he's really just sitting. On the sidelines fulminating, and it doesn't mean anything. I guess she the first people that would be suing him would be all of the Republicans. He ran against in the primary, right? You'd think. I haven't I you know, I wouldn't the New York Times or the Washington Post. You call them failing. And so actually use you know. Businesses that isn't that? That's not good for business. I actually have a case wouldn't they they bite. There is something called trade libel a product. So how much are the American people you think recognizing extraordinarily valuable nature of the first amendment and the protects us at the founding father gave simply because of how difficult was for them to bring about the American revolution. Under the yoke of the mad king and his libel laws, which again is is I've mentioned James still exist in the UK. That's why Trump and his wife actually went to his wife sued the Daily Mail in the courts because they can get a victory under the reactionary. Libel laws are still exists today. And I have a brother in Australia is an investigative journalist, and he exposed and Australian war hero as a war criminal and both Rupert Murdoch and another Australian. And press allegations are suing him for personal damages along with the city Morning Herald and the age, and if they were to win he would lose everything these house everything so that's does lowest still exist. And we are so lucky here to have the first amendment. I just don't know that the average American understands how valuable and important it is. In. I've been doing this now for over a quarter century, and it's always fascinated me that the American public's symbol tedious reverence for the constitution and particularly for for the first amendment and the freedom of speech that we enjoy unparalleled almost in the world with their simultaneous dislike of newspapers and news organizations who operate under that we love to lot. But hey, what people do is. It's so funny, but I can tell you that in all indications that I've done for every manner person in every walk of life. There is universal reference for free speech and the first amendment and while we may dislike the newspapers we don't want. Anybody tinkering with that or limiting those those freedoms at all. So what do you think then is the chances of of anybody on that caught taking Justice Thomas's ideas any further? I mean, what what can he do as a supreme court Justice who has already said that the foundation of laws in the United States, the Otani versus Sullivan should be revisited if not Alberton. Yeah. Justice thomas..

"The black. Hebrew, Israelites who are screaming at them calling them all sorts of horrible names, vile stuff. And then this the what's his name. The the native American elder comes up walks up right in the middle of them and starts banging a drum Nick sandwich face. Yes. So it's totally misrepresented an all based on one Twitter post that had like an eighteen second version of what was going on the media took that ran with it. So his lawyers are now filing a lawsuit again for two hundred fifty million dollars in compensatory and punitive damages. Well, you had celebrities different people in the media tweeden things. Someone should punch him there were death threats. They say the we also learned that by him standing where he was. Was aggressively. Yeah. That aggressive about standing there. There was I didn't notice this at the time. When savannah Guthrie did that interview with Nick. I didn't notice the pause there. It's almost like she pauses and says is what I'm about to ask really really stupid is the way that I'm framing this, really bad. And it is. Yes, bet standing there is potentially very aggressive after you're a high school kid getting shouted out by grown men were saying that you fathered children with their sisters and all this all this gross stuff. Incest, baby's future school shooters. Not to mention these words that were being bandied about that. I can't say on the radio. Yeah. But that was the thing about well, salmon. I mean, just the image of him with his hat and then the grin on his face. It struck terror and fear into Americans. They could sleep for a week to what they say. I was thinking of that for and I'm like man, he scares me. I hope take her to the cleaners whatever she's got left in the Bank because she was threatening them. She says I want these kids named I want them to be harassed the Washington Post. There's you know, generally, news outlets are given a lot of leeway because they're reporting on what's a news story. They may have reported it poorly. But that doesn't necessarily mean there was ill intent, okay. But you can't prove facts were cherry picked the you didn't watch the entire video that in context, you just build a false narrative on purpose. You I think you would have to that one's hard to prove though when it comes to just the news organization itself when it comes to actively threatening. Oh, it's laughable now. I don't think it really is. Because for most of us. I think what's going through your head. Is you see some of these outlets the way, they report stories every day and to say, you know, it's tough to prove that there's real bias. People laugh their heads off. And because obviously there is but to prove it in a court of law under those rules. Yes, I get it. And I think you also have to prove that they had ill intent towards these kids and wanted them to be harassed. That's the type of thing. And generally news outlets are given a ton of leeway with that. And I think most of the time for good reason. Because you don't you also want to still be able to give an opinion you want to be able to to actually report news as it's happening. All of that stuff. There's a reason why they're there are some protections in place again when it comes to people like Kathy Griffin or any film producers who were coming out and saying these kids need to be named and shamed. Oh, yeah. Trump's had the Washington Post ignored basic journalistic standards because it wanted to advance its well known and easily documented bias agenda against president Donald J Trump Covington student suing wop, oh, go get him. Nick fake news. All right. We gotta move with this other story because this is getting a lot of reaction across the country. This is a guy that was very upset seeing his stepdaughter being bullied. Yes. Guy in the Houston area deer park was arrested for you know, in a nice way, you could tell you what standing up first step daughter. Police say James pieces, stepdaughter was being bullied by twelve year old boy she goes to school with. So she called her stepdad for a ride. He goes and picks her up, and then we've got deer park police Lieutenant Chris Brown explaining what happened next on the drive home. They.

"And then you got a group of like guys like six black guys. What were they call it? The black Israelites or something. Yeah. Really militant black guys. And they were just ripping into these kids. Call them child molesters and school shooters and all this stuff. So there was there was there was some sort of thing that was going to start you know, like the the kids tension tension. Yeah. Yeah. Three hundred six fifteen six or maybe a couple hundred fifteen sixteen seventeen year old kids from his high school. And I think it's that many maybe. Whatever was they certainly outnumbered these guys and these guys like hard core. You know, just screaming the guys you would see on the corner. Screaming the world's getting end those types of things. Yeah. And so there's this tension going on. And then a guy comes walking by from the indigenous peoples March this old like old school native American guy. Banging on a drum Nathan something is his name. Get his last name. They just happens to be. I think Vietnam vet right? Nathan phillips. He was no he was not a wasn't in Vietnam. But he was he was he was actually you know, he was drafted. It didn't go to be enough. So he's standing there banging on the drum and the picture that went around the world was this kid this this it doesn't even have like a like a whisker on his face. Probably a fifteen year old kid and his name is Nathan San man. Nick, San Knicks San man, and he had a maga- hat on make America great hat on. And he's staring down the guy. Banging the drum and they're staring face to face pool. When he say. The kid is a smirking. So people would really thought. Okay. Well, the kids making fun of him and he's a staring them down. Well, anyway, there were news outlets. They were newspapers they're all sorts of media reports that the kid was mocking him that all these other kids were mocking. This native American who just came for the March any long story short. The kid goes on TV says I wasn't mocking him. I was just standing there. And I was listening to what he had to say. Anyway. The the Washington Post is now being sued for two hundred fifty million dollars by the attorneys, representing Nick Sanmen the kid the sixteen year old kid two hundred fifty billion dollars. You gotta prove for for what for. What damages? So anyway, the reason why they came up with that number two hundred fifty million. That's the number that Jeff Bezos paid for the Washington Post. They want to take the money. So, you know, the Washington Post the liberal Washington Post, right? Yeah. Say news anti Trump anthem maga- hat anti kid and because the kid was wearing a hat that. That's where they would after him. So they I guess they're there to two hundred fifty million dollars. Wow. Yeah. And we'll be like, well, if your attorney, wouldn't you do the same thing you get a third of that? That's a nice little. Going to get that money that they're not going to win. There's no way they're going to win. But they're hoping to get some sort of a settlement. But the kid like how you suffering you before this thing happened. Nobody knew who this kid was nobody knew who he was going to be the most popular guy in that high school. Don't you think? Nick, San man when he walks down the hall. Comes. Aw, man. He comes the Sandman. He's no longer known as Nick, San man. He's the same man Sam. He's just I said man, like, Donald you know, what I mean? Speaking witch. So trump. This today. And he tweeted this Covington students suing Washington Post, go get him, Nick fake news or Cincinnati's got Trump. "That's bumper music. That will get you in the mood. Non Sebastian Gorka. This is America first. The Lama tell you. That we keep you at the top of all the breaking news, and we feed it into a meld it with our guests because what has Donald Trump tweeted, the Washington Post ignored basic journalistic standards because it wanted to advance its well known and easily documented biased agenda against president Donald J Trump. That's a quote, and then the president ads Covington student suing Washington Post and then final line go get him. Nick fake news. The president. I think Twitter was invented for Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk, president of turning point USA an organization that if you want to support the fight against the crazy radical left, I can think of non better than ten point USA. What's the importance of the Covington story, Charlie Kirk, especially after the recent revelations with regards to the so-called homophobic, racist attack against just? Smollet a couple of things that no one's really talking about. This shows the posits of the Trump taking over the Republican party. Let's think back to cabin how easy it would have been perfect cavenaugh to withdraw his nomination it on the supreme court. Instead, he took a page from President Trump's book and fought and the president fought alongside him and we pushed back the mob. I look at this Covington example, which of course, the media got terribly wrong represented there'd be easy right now for the Cuttington parents. And Nick, salmon, there'd be nothing move on. Mistake. Instead, they take a page out of President Trump's book, and they fought. Now, what's what's the importance of that? Of course, we like to see, you know, people stand for truth, but even more so finding elected being held accountable for the damage, they do to our society into our country. And and you saw that with Brett cavenaugh would've been so easy for president. Or for any other Republican president? They would have just pulled in ancient ever said we're so sorry. There's too much controversy is too much chatter. Too much noise. We'll be back with another nominee very soon. Instead, they stood inside. And so you can start to see the entire conservative movement. Follow our President Trump and not take it anymore. And that's one of the reasons why you saw him with the twenty sixteen election for far too long. We've allowed the left to run roughshod over our country. And so nice to see the comington parents stand up for what is true and the libel that had happened against their son. Well, they win. I don't know. It's. Very difficult in this country. Are there, you know? The United Kingdom for example to win like this. He's a relatively Lutheran at the Washington Post is you have to spend millions of dollars in legal fees to defend their shotgun reporting and they're in. They're really rush to judgement and the better for and the same thing happened with the Justice Malek case here in Chicago wearing actually right now. And where I'm from originally. I knew the story was nonsense. The first time I heard it on negative four degree water to guys wearing make-america-great-again hat downtown Chicago. I don't even think they sell those hats. And then according to his original story, he says they said after the attack vistas Maggie. Say that ever aren't you Dr Gorka into hundreds of make America, great again rallies. I've never even heard that Dr story unfolds. He should be held accountable. People must be held accountable to what they do wrong. And there must be consequences. Kutu your actions and Jesse wanted nothing more than the victim for months and for making national news story on how horrible President Trump is. Because he rising voices your for one. You're the one that it's still difficult to this country. And I hope you're held accountable. If it turns out that you did make this thing up with all the facts. Yeah. Because that's the real hate crime. Charlie cook your so absolutely, correct. Engendering tension amongst the American population based upon skin color, which is what he did. He said he was attacked by white maga- supporters. That is a hate crime follow him at Charlie Kirk eleven this is perhaps one of the most important messages of turning point USA. I get asked a lot when I speak at your vents. What's the one thing? I can do I get high school as get college aid kit kids asking me, I tell them the same thing. Charlie stand up for the truth. You don't have to get preachy don't have to get on a soapbox. But if you don't stand up for the truth than those who wish to take your freedoms away from you have one it is that simple. Follow him. Charlie cookie left on Twitter turning point USA USA, one of the most important organizations. There is today in America along with the Heritage Foundation, the National Rifle Association and Judicial Watch. I think that's about it. Those are the big. That are keeping us free..

"This is your source for breaking news. And what to make of it all this? Here's the Mike Gallagher show. You've been great, Mike. And I appreciate it very much you notice I walked over here. Very quickly now from the relief factor dot com studios years, Mike Gallagher. There was a time in my business when I had to actually do show prep. I had to study different topics. What would the audience wanna hear? Now, it's a matter of logging on and checking in with President Trump and his tweets. The the president has been tweeting today, and it's a good place to start. It's his preferred method of communication. Here's what he said. Let's let's take a few. Let's take a gander, shall we? Here's my show prep. You're ready. You're now into into my show prep, the president of the United States at real Donald Trump. Number one crazy Bernie has just entered the race. I wish him. Well. That's it. Crazy Bernie has just entered the race. I wish him well loving it. He said, the press has never been more dishonest than it is today stories are written that have absolutely no basis. In fact, the writers don't even call asking for verification. They're totally out of control. Sadly, I kept many of them in business in six years. They all go bust your rakes. Does raise a great point. What's going to happen when he leaves office? I mean. Company's going to go completely kaput. I don't know that CNN is going to exist. I watched Chris Cuomo a clip last night online of Chris Cuomo and Kellyanne Conway going round and round for about. I mean, it was probably ten minutes. It felt like a hundred it was just each of them. Insulting the other going back and forth back and forth. He'd take a pot shot at Hershey ticket, and she's tough, obviously. And he wants to be tougher. And I could just I was watching it and I looked at his face and he had a look on his face like. This is where we need to be. This is this is who we are. And it was just like it was like watching. The WWE, you know, it was like just watching roller derby, if you remember that these guys have no inclination to get to the truth of these complicated life or death stories of the border or or health care or taxes or jobs the economy ISIS, they don't want to get to any of that. They wanna have a mud wrestling match. They want Chris Cuomo and Kellyanne Conway to wrestle around for about twenty minutes, and they can say look at us. Great TV anyhow. Tweets from the president, the Washington Post ignored basic journalistic standards because it wanted to advance its well known and easily documented biased agenda against president Donald J Trump. Now, that's a quote, he's quoting one of the Covington Catholic students Nick Sandman who suing the Washington Post, the president of the United States said in his tweet, go get them, Nick fake news. So think about that we're now in a world, and I love it. I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm I ain't complaining. Here's the president of the United States encouraging this kid who's filing a two hundred and fifty million dollar lawsuit. Go get them. Nick fake news. The president went onto tweet. The New York Times reporting is false. They are a true enemy of the people. And then the president quoted Trey Goudy, quote, if thinking the James Comey is not a good FBI director is tantamount to being an agent of Russia than just list all the people that are agents of Russia. Chuck Schumer Nancy Pelosi, rod Rosenstein, who wrote the memo to get rid of Komi, the inspector general that of course, was what Trey Goudy said and the president was quoting him. And then finally the president tweeted California now wants to scale back there already failed fast train project by substantially shortening the distance. So that it no longer goes from LA to San Francisco a different deal and record cost overruns Hsien the federal government back the billions of dollars wasted. That's our president. That's our president. And I don't know how you how you can find fault with with the fight that he's in. Engaged in. Meanwhile, she'd be ashes Lara Logan shutdown with. It's been getting a lot of attention because this is a woman who has been in war zones. She has been through hell, she is considered. Just a tough. Highly respected reporter she's now being. Eviscerated by the media. Why? Because she dares to point out something that we've been saying for a couple of years, I can't wait to share with you. Larry Logan's comments to this podcast. You're Mike Richland on his mic drop podcast, and then the subsequent reaction that she's getting from the mainstream media that now wants to take her down for for daring to point out the obvious. "Most stimulating talk three things. I think you need to know number one calm down a little bit. It's okay. This stupid controversial DNA database Bill that was introduced by Republican state Senator from David lamestain. He's been scaled back originally wanted the state to be able to collect DNA from all kinds of people here in Arizona real estate agents who won a license give your DNA. You wanna volunteer. Give you DNA state by the give the DNA so much more. Now, it's back down to any professionals that care for patients with intellectual disabilities in a care facility. Because of what happened a couple of weeks ago when it came out that a worker at one of these facilities impregnated a girl in a vegetative state. So all right got all control. It was this guy thinking second thing. I think you need to know not only is there an illegal alien on the community law enforcement partnership commissioned with Pima county, not only is an illegal alien on. They're trying to influence how law enforcement does its job here. This illegal alien hates his country so much according to Gabe D as interviews my page candidacy dot com. She. He refuses to stand for the national anthem. I'm sorry for the pledge of allegiance pro national enter to pledge of allegiance third thing. I think you need to know, President Trump is frigging awesome. What other president would do this California announces their governor says we're going to not do the high speed rail project willing to a little bit of it? It's too much money. And and we're never gonna be able to finish it. It's just unrealistic. So trump. Just he's administration. Just informed California. We are taking back nine hundred twenty eight million plus dollars almost a billion dollars was allocated to the high speed rail project because you're not doing it. And now California's mad the governor called a political retribution said, it's our money. We're gonna to what are you gonna use it for you not do the dam project? So good three things. I think you need to know. One second one second one second. I just gotta let you know, really fast too. Because this I'll get your calls about all this stuff. Jussie smollet Pima county you name it. Remember, the Covington Catholic high school, boys? Huge huge huge lawsuit going on right now. They're lawyers. This guy's not messing around the one the one boy whose life has been turned upside down. Nick Sandman suing the Washington Post for all the false reporting and smearing for two hundred fifty million dollars two hundred fifty and that's just the Washington Post. This is incredible. And I absolutely love it. I love it. This is great L. Lynnwood two hundred two hundred fifty million dollars. Because apparently that is the price that Bezos paid for the Washington Post. They want to teach them a lesson as they should you can't just go trash people. Private citizens of supreme court allows you to trash people. It's true to a point that are public figures. Celebrities politicians people in the community of people that are known, but they smeared a seventeen year old young boy who did nothing wrong. Yeah. The lawsuit in Kentucky accused the Washington Post practicing a modern day, former McCarthyism targeting nNcholas Sandman using its vast financial resources, dander, the bully pulpit by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles to smear young boy who was in its view and acceptable casualty in their war against the president Boban Washington Post you said reviewing this. We're gonna amount of vigorous defense. Good luck. That's just the Washington Post wittily hit up the New York Times. And all these. Liberties that did this stuff. The lawsuit claims the post ignored the truth about the incident, which it did falsely accused nNcholas of a costing the the old Indian guy look like a homeless guy by suddenly swarming into threatening and physically intimidating manner blocking Phillips path refusing to allow Phillips to retreat taunting the dispersing indigenous crowd chanting, build the wall, Trump twenty twenty go back to Africa, otherwise other racist improper conduct never happened. So salmon's attorneys accused the posted publishing seven false and defamatory articles about the incident. They claimed the paper new and intended that it's false and defamatory accusations would be republished by others, including media outlets and other on social media earlier in the month, by the way. The attorneys also sent letters to over fifty media organizations, just remind you New York Times CNN, Elizabeth Warren, Elissa Milano, Jim Carey, they're all gonna get sued. Last week. Investigators hired by the Roman Catholic diocese of Covington concluded the students didn't instigate the confrontation. The Bishop Roger foist who initially condemned the students behavior wrote a letter to parents they had been placed in a situation that was at once bizarre even threatening. How about that? Incredible stuff in make sure they're still there if you don't mind in credible stuff. And by the way, the president was all about it. The president Senate tweet today. About this so good. He gave props to Nick. He quoted some of the story, the Washington Post ignored basic journalistic standards because they want to advance its well-known easily documented biased against president Donald J Trump and quote Covington student suing Walpole, go get him. Nick fake news. Good for the president's on him. Eric, thanks for waiting. Welcome became ST. Hello. Good morning. What's up though? When you think about all these cases of supposed racism that are made up, including the case, you just mentioned the Covington calling them racist. And you go back to Al Sharpton, Tawana Brawley and the Duke lacrosse case. My my point is is that look if racism is supposedly so prevalent. How come you have to make up cases of it shouldn't they just be right out there all the time. Zack. The fact is is I challenge anyone to point out a drinking fountain. It says that says colored only anymore or anybody that has to go to the back of the bus anymore. We've come a long long way in this country. No one on the left or these race fabricators ever even acknowledges that sure there are always going to be pockets of dopey people that are racist. But we have become a country so far more enlightened even in the last fifty years. And oh, by the way, I think we had a black president, which is probably the pinnacle of showing a lack of racism as a country. But you see these people make a living that Maxine Waters, and the Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, I believe they actually regret and rue the fact that there isn't more racism, and so that's why they have to make it up, and they have to proliferate it. And actually caused people to try and hate each other based on. Fake racism and hanging a second hanging. A second one of the real, you know, you answered your question one of the reasons that they want people to hate each other is because without victims. They don't have a purpose. They want to make it up. They want people to they make things up to may try to convince people that they were victim. You didn't get this in your life your victim. And the reason you didn't get what you want in life is because of the color of your skin. That's what it is. It's very per verse and dangerous, and you know, which you just look at the facts when they make up the statement that Trump is a racist because he said that all Mexicans coming across the border are are criminals, murderers, rapists, etc. He never said that he said there are criminals coming across, but they have to fabricate as a new statement in order to call him a racist by saying that he said all those people are criminals any never said that I challenge them to play the tape where he ever said that in fact, is it doesn't exist. They never went that that right because they have to make it up, and and it's a very strange perverse and actually kind of an evil strategy. They have to try and do the people into thinking that racism exists on a scale that as it used to in. It doesn't when Robert Byrd was a member of the KKK. Exactly, you're right. I'm running short on time. So great call. They are evil and perverse to convince people for your own power. Keep me elected. I'm gonna fight for you. Because you're a victim. You don't even know it yet. But I'll tell you why you don't have this big screen TV on this. You don't have that. It's not because he didn't work hard enough. "Doesn't submit to re interviewing by the police, then there's going to be legitimate questions asked about the veracity of his allegations. Why won't you do that you had to do that? Alcorn Cardi B Cardi B. Well, this is our. Would you do that to do that? When she even thinks, you're ridiculous. Yeah. You got a problem? You got a problem? We are talking, of course, about Jesse small do you know what? In in fairness to this guy. I would say ninety nine percent of America had no idea where this guy was I'm raising my hand, I had no clue until all of this will be that big of an actor or just like a BI level as the it's I I can't think of the two people who run empire. It's a it's a recording business. Yeah. It's their son. It's one of their sons. He's the Rowley played. They're trying to play this off still like star of empire. Was star at anything is a supporting cast member. Yeah. The mother and the father of the stars. And and I can't think of their names right now. But they're very famous. But anyway, my kids watch it. I I get it vicariously through them. But in fairness to him, you didn't know who he was now yesterday, we found out that he was blaming the studio that he works out with empire because they didn't respond accordingly at least in his eyes to a hateful letter that he received while he was on the set which was enraging enough because it's still not taking responsibility. Right. It doesn't justify making up. Right was attacked by two white guys wearing mega hats, yelling, racial, slurs and homophobic slurs while they poured bleach on me and put a noose around my neck doesn't justify that hoax. Then we find out late yesterday that the FBI thinks he wrote the letter incentive to himself. Lounge do that you will not be involved. That means yeah, they're going to kill him off. They're going to kill them off in. The irony is allegedly the reason this all started was because he heard he was being released from the show. Well, well, guess what you got your way you're really released. And I love all the little side stories the little ancillary things that have come out now, I guess in two thousand seven he got a DUI, and he tried to be tried to pass it off on his brother, this jerk. I think what's going to happen is a grand jury is going to find him a stable, that's probably the most likely scenario. But at least he'll like, you know, here charges. Wow. I just you can't get away with this come on. It's it's it's scary is what it is. I mean, this guy the only good thing about it is what did you tell me? The hashtag is now it's like small let hoax altogether. So you know, that even the people still believe his story, you know, that this is this being doubted. Yeah. And now when you get the CNN's and the MS NBC's of the world right saying it was made up it was made up. So that because that was my big concern the racial divides bad enough. And then you have somebody that now they're calling a star of empire with this elaborate hoax. If people believed it. That would be. Oh, absolutely. I. All the other hoaxes that have been debunked. But nobody knows they got debunked it. But fortunately, they don't they don't usually include somebody of celebrity status. Very true in that in this case, at least now they all know, it's a hoax does that make. We gotta ask somebody. I'm just curious is if you're an African American you live in Chicago when you heard this, I would be enraged at a white person. If I was African American at that point. Is that Trump supporters? They really do hate black people. Right. But do you look at it differently? Now that you know, it's a hoax. I would hope so I mean, our hopes and dreams here. It'd be nice. If we're being lofty is that people will now on a larger scale, look at all these mainstream stories and say, we let me do my own research blade. No damn, well, it's not gonna do that. And then on top of it. Then you get the kid from Covington high school the kid that face the American Indian. Absolutely. And they switch that whole thing around and make it look like he was the the aggressor in the tormentor when he was just standing there waiting for a bus that was a hoax that was a hoax. He just sued his attorneys, the sued the Washington Post for two hundred fifty million bucks. I hope he gets it. Even thank God. You know what? Thank God somebody's fighting back. And what we're hearing this morning is his attorneys say we're just starting CNN's next. Oh, I hope they go after CNN for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars. They slandered these kids, and then don't you? Don't forget I'd be suing the school too because they disowned these kids almost immediately the school even throw him under the bus. Oh, Dow Dow was maybe the worst part of all their own community. That was terrible poor kids. So I hope I hope they all went a lot of money. And so does this guy want do Trump tweet on their bandwagon came in this morning? A quarter of eight AM. He just the president just kind of quoted the lawyers presentation to hear about what the Washington Post did with his own words Covington students suing Walpole, go get him. Nick fake news. I think Nick was his last name Sandman. I think Nick's going to be at the White House in the near future. He be hanging in the Oval Office for president with all kinds of mega hats around. Now. Do we think he's going to get the two fifty mil? No. But still it makes the statement you can't get away with this. Well, it's about time. You know, somebody on that side starts fighting back because usually we just lay down to die. You gotta you gotta punch back. You have to good for them punching back. I think what we should start. Here's a petition that we want a four day workweek. You mean like in this building or in this country in this building? That's not gonna win. Oh, yeah. Well, you're not renegotiate renegotiating anything. Because because you we start at five thirty. So we're done with you doing anything. I thought they meant PM. But anyway, we've all said right with all said, his four-day workweek. It sounds awesome. What would we do? Now. You made a great point a great distinction to make it. I forgot about this. What they try to turn this into here is. All right. Yeah. Four day workweek. But that means twelve hour days. Over time know, and if we need you on that fifth day you'd better come in. This is a company in New Zealand, and it's legal services is this what they do. I don't know what kind of legal service, but it's a legal office. And they decided we're going to do four days a week. But only eight hours a day. They didn't add extra a real for day workweek. Right. And you get paid for five days. Exactly. So you pay doesn't change one of I really truly worldwide examples we can look at over a period of time to see. Okay. Was it productive did the company still make money or more money? Maybe or less money. How would the people treated how were they feel now, blah, blah, blah and looking and the the the results. Yes. Oh, yeah. Yes. It was some across the board. It was like a twenty percent increase productivity would they have? Yes. Or percent. More productive on the four days company. Didn't see any drop in total amount of work getting done. And then they start you know, the lifestyle stuff. So they started with a with a baseline and now they measured the stress levels dropped forty five percent to thirty eight percent. Life work balance scores up to seventy eight percents. The companies all in favor of he goes, I had my doubts too. But this is an idea whose time has come. I just think when we have a three day weekend. How happy we all are. Yes. But which data we take out we just LOP off Monday or Friday. I don't know. So you have Friday Saturday Sunday because somebody's going to become the new Monday. It's either Thursday is going to be the new Friday or Tuesday is going to be the Monday. Well, no one likes Tuesday's anyway. Because really what does Tuesday do nothing. Tuesday has no other than tacos Tuesday has no vibe to it. It has none now Wednesday hump day Thursday. Ooh, tomorrow's Friday. We're almost there eagle flies on Friday. Yeah. So and then Monday. We all know what it's like. But you're right. This is all a moot point for us. Would never work. Well, we work six seven days a week. Well, the thing is it's like you can't just if you're on a broadcasting schedule. Hey, sacrificed one day or show a week. We give it to somebody else. That's not happening. None of our world. No, no, that's true. Because your other four days, they'd be gone. It'd be hey, you know, there's one day at work. He feels in just great for you. See that's how that would work by the way, you know, what story we didn't talk about knows really upset yesterday. It's making national news. These little kids were outside playing somewhere along the panhandle. Okay, right here in Florida. Right. The review our four in four hundred five four and six years old out playing in the backyard with friends they decided to wander off the next thing. You know, they're on the side of walking down the highway. Well, how's that happened? Come on. Well, that's a great question. That's no parental person there. But anyway, they were saved from getting into the street by the two dogs that were with him. All right dogs every time they tried to get close to the street. The dogs would push them back in and finally somebody called and said these kids are missing. And then all these calls started coming in from motorists there's kids on the side of the road. You know, we stopped, but these dogs stayed the kids from going into the traffic. So wait a minute. The dogs are like corralling them in pushing them in toward from the traffic every time they'd get like. Close to the the lane. The dog would push him back in you know, off the street. It is awesome. Very cool. It was a good dog. We loved the puppy dog. That's a good puppy dog. Tell you a couple of minutes, though, kind of puppy dog. You don't wanna recount her covered in peanut butter and a dog park this poor guy. All we gotta he agreed to it guy. He had to come here. Right.
