"Prepares for it and this is how we train students to do that so we train <unk> enlisted but we also trained the so baker submarine officer basic course <hes> officers also pretty much anyone who's gonna be on a submarine day. They try and come to our trainer. We only after a medical screening and hyperbaric chamber run probably about only twenty eight percent actually do a full thirty seven foot escape but the classes watching everything a whole time so they're still taking in the training <hes> an and like seeing it happen before them so <hes> but it so i'll go to clinic <hes> one or two days a week to help about their <hes> but my main job is screening these students and then being in the building in case we do have any diving injuries because has we we have students escape <hes> at six hundred twenty five feet per minute so extremely fast going against all diving role god yes so they're at risk for getting <hes> pulmonary over inflation syndrome injuries <hes> <hes> like numerous or axes numa media steinem and then the one we're most concerned about is agee's or arterial gas embolisms <hes> <hes> but we do have to hyperbaric chambers in the building. We have two doctors <hes> in the building and d. m. t.'s and an i._d._c. <hes> on in case anything does happen on so that's that's my main job in the clinic and administrative work work is also obviously so you have no like fifteen foot safety. Stop let the nitrogen out for a period of time nothing like that. It's bam and if okay if all of you said you feel a little funny or things are not going right all right. Let's put him in the chamber them okay yeah yeah so it's it's really fast paced. <hes> it's ninety nine percent of the time. Nothing goes wrong because the students are learning like they're doing what they're exactly like supposed to be doing. The instructors there are all divers <hes> but just like with any high risk trainer like the hilo dunker kind of like there is a chance even if you follow follow all the directions all the instructions that something had happened so is there a recertification for these guys resist like a one and done just a one an injection <hes>. You'll see like senior officers like this building. This tank was built in two thousand nine and you'll see like more officers in at the captain level or community <unk> who didn't go through it and they're like really fascinated by like oh. I wanna go through it <hes> just once to to understand it so yeah. It's it's more like if you can do it while you're here. That's the best thing yeah so we get out. How is this transferable because i'm very curious about that. Yeah that's a good question so i mean they use his hyperbaric chambers <hes> more on the wellness side of things for <hes> helping <hes> like people with diabetic ulcers who needs to help re grow that tissue <hes>. It's it's not super super purple to the civilian side. There's the coast guard has a number of sites right throughout the country. Just in case you get out there on a you know a re regular fund dive and all of a sudden something goes bad you know. The whole idea is they. Try to fly in life flight you in hopefully into hyperbaric chamber where you can get the type of you know support that you need but there's not very many of them. That's the bad thing e._s. There's not many of them. Most of them are probably owned by the military coast guard or something like that right yeah yeah yeah yeah which will usually require some type of like c._o. Approval or high-rise higher with rupel so <hes> but i plan on doing something called occupational medicine after my second tour of being a u. amo- mo- which is <hes> it's a masters in public health and then one more year of on site clinic training where you are taking can care of special populations of people which is essentially what i'm doing now <hes> just in the navy but on the outside you would work for a big company like nick exxon mobil or i did hear of a former u..
