"State dominated the time of possession, and those all extra opportunities ultimately propelled the Nittany Lions to their first win of the season. They take it over the maize and blue 27 to 17 the final from here at Michigan Stadium, awaiting some thoughts from Nick you banks from the Michigan offense, but first an update on what's happening in the big 10. Michigan State and early 10. Nothing lead at home against Northwestern Rocky Lombardi, a 75 yard touchdown pass to jail and Naylor. That's the lone touchdown in that ballgame. And Michigan State has the football around midfield against the eighth ranked undefeated Wildcats, also Just set for kickoff for doing home against Rutgers eyes the Boilermakers trying to get to three and two on the season earlier today, alongside our game, 12th ranked Indiana a 27 to 11 victory over Maryland. The story. The long term for the Hoosiers, though, is that Michael panics Junior did leave the game due to injury. He was running out of bounds on a scramble and did take a hit. When immediate immediately. The locker room did not return. So we'll keep an eye on that. From a big 10 perspective, Michael Panics. Junior has been a big reason why Indiana Came in at number 12 in the college football playoff rankings and is five and one on the season. There were supposed to be two other games in the Big 10 Today, Those were canceled mid week. Wisconsin's match up with Minnesota was washed out do do covert cases rising within the Minnesota program, and then late last night, it was announced that Ohio State's matchup at Illinois Set for noon from champagne would be canceled. The Buckeyes had had some cases in the middle of the week, including their head coach, Ryan Day. They did some PCR tests on Friday evening, ultimately showing that the cases were still spreading within the Buckeyes program. So that is Ohio State's second cancelation of a game this season. Which complicates things. It's the same reason why now Wisconsin is no longer eligible for the Big 10 championship game. The big 10 establish that started the season that you had to play at least six games in order to be eligible, so Wisconsin can play no more than five in the regular season. Ohio State at this point can play no more than six. So they're right on the threshold. Let's go to Doug. He's with Nick Eubanks, Doug Hi, Brian. Thank you very much. And we have Nikki Banks, Michigan tight end and Nick overall, you've been around here a leader. You've seen a lot. What do you say to your teammates after a loss like this to try and Make sure it you turn around, Get some wins. Personally, I just, you know way always said we'd just keep personal. You know, you can't dwell on the past. You know the way lost his game on to the next one. Could we go in the next week with that same attitude. Gonna probably lose that game as well. So I was just being around these guys just to keep their heads up, You know, just keep pressing on so matter to you guys who's the quarterback? I mean, you kind of have went back and forth today, does it? Does it make a difference, or they both make place for you. And you just You just do your job best believe, like, you know, they made plays, both of them. But you know, when you when you have those two, and and now you know, it creates somewhat of adjustment, you know to the receivers, but I think they were able to just well, you know, try to make plays. Take one of the frustrating things today. Offensively was obviously short yardage. You being a tight end. Get in the trenches there. Sometimes. What could you tell about what wasn't working in short yardage situations today? Basically, you know, just being like I said, he's been able to the tune into those details. You know, you know, watching found and just seeing what those guys would be out and those those times a short yardage. You know, just being able to be there when that player his dad's certain gap of so and just coming off the ball, you know, being physical in terms of being like in short yardage coach Harbaugh said After the game. He still sees fight. He still sees this team battling. Can you speak to that a little bit? Because when you're two and four fans start to throw out and questions about where where the team is. Are they fighting? Are they already quit in him? What can you say that? I doubt there is quitting this team, you know, you know, everything we do is is fighting. You know, Every every team can be beat in this conference, especially, you know, it's just up to us, you know, just being able to execute and beat those teams. As you can see around around different conferences. Well, you know, any team could be being so I've eyes that I agree with Coach our bomb. He said that to Nick, we appreciate your time. Good luck. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Banks. Michigan Tight end Ryan back to you. Doug. Thank you. And again, thanks to Nick you banks, along with Andrew Stuber earlier for doing the interviews. Not easy in a situation like that. 27 17 the final Penn State knocks off the maize and blue are postgame show presented by the Metro Detroit Buick GMC Dealers rolls along with our highlight recap after this. "Subject to change. Jason or was back with you in our Western one studios will get you back to Ann Arbor here in just a moment, but quick update of what else is going on around the nation or the Western finished off Purdue in West Lafayette, 27. 20 So the Wildcats four no in conference play for the first time since 1996 that year, they shared a victim championship with Ohio State this year. They play Wisconsin next week. Meanwhile, number six Flora 35 14.5 on Arkansas Child Trask five touchdown passes in the opening half. He's the nation's leader coming into the day with 22, Also Michigan having problems with turnovers, so to number 11 organ three giveaways in the first half lead in the 13 points for Washington state. Cougars up 16 7 as they approach after backing Dan Miller and Jim Miller in Ann Arbor. All right. Thanks very much. It is 28. Nothing here. Wisconsin over Michigan, Michigan, early trouble with turnovers, and Wisconsin has just taken off from there. They really have. I mean, you know you're grabbing at straws right now. What's what they're gonna do. They're gonna have to go high Temple offense now to get themselves back in it from Michigan Side. So Josh Gattis has to now trust is young quarterback that He's probably gonna have to get upto upwards of 51 throws just one drive, though, right? I mean, look, it's 28 nothing. You're not gonna get it all back at once. If you're Josh Gattis, aren't you thinking about just some way to get a first down? They don't have a first down yet in this game. Yeah, but they're gonna have to start increasing their temple. I mean, three and here's her their drives right now. Interception, interception three and out and punch. So they've got to do something to get themselves in a red rhythm and charity. I really already believe their running game is out of it. It's gonna be time to start cranking up because Wisconsin's now going to start Trying to turn the clock already. Believe it or not. Check the drive. Some response by the Nissan rogue, proud supporter of college athletics and premier partner of the Heisman Trophy that last touchdown, six plays 74 yards, three minutes off the clock, Nakia Watson from 10 yards out. Just a display of power football down in the red Zone by Wisconsin. Michigan set to get it back Child Jackson back deep. We go. See if the Wolverines could get something going offensively. This will not be returnable Jackson watching sail over his head and into the end zone for a touchback out will come. Joe Milkman that offense once again, Michigan so far tonight six total yards. You mentioned their drives a moment ago. No first downs in this game zero for three on third down, just nothing happening offensively so far permission. I wouldn't even be so concerned about attacking what Wisconsin, doesn't it? I think you just go to your base offense, your go to place that everybody understands just to create something positive that everybody knows that we're on the same page. Built. It's gonna work out of the gun. He's got Haskins to his left quick throw left side that is complete and that's gonna render up, you know, loss on the play. AJ Henning made the catch. But he's taken down 24 yard line by Nick her big. He's somebody you talked about before the game. They like him. Well, they like him. He's a third player from Hawaii. He's got a ton of athleticism. He was the defense of Player of the year out of white, but Back to this place. This is the problem for Michigan. Here. They're running a now play in Roman milk. Wilson, Mrs. His black. It's just really a bubble screen. And you miss your black Louisiana second down in 11. Milton takes the snap, roll the right then to get hit, And as he's going down, he throws it in the direction of Nick Eubanks. It goes incomplete, but that was Leo Ocean, all applying the pressure that time. Milk Ned to get rid of it just to avoid a big loss. Yeah, this in all, he's a player. Now he's going in for Chris or getting his opportunity or moves on to the pros, and they really like shit All he's one of the strongest.

"In the gun with three receivers split right? Back to throw Milton on first down throws. He's got his receiver at the 31. That's good for a first down. Big arm, Cornelia Johnson just went down field seven yards stop. And I mean Milton through a laser out there didn't even that thing left a paper trail. That that ball when Joe Milton is able to step into it away, M o that thing and right, easy ball. For Jack Johnson to handle. That's a nice first downplay. 33 yard line. First intense chardonnay Now the running back and they go Jet sweet Jackson trying the left side. 35 turns the corner. There's a hit late hit by Tao lot about, but they will not throw the flag. Jim Harbaugh's Oh my God, He's incensed. He is, he's really over all over the official to that side. And right now they're going to give him the 43. That's a first dial. I'm stunned that Dal didn't get called for personal I have to. I am completely stunned. I'm not being home or here. But that Let that by any measure was a late hit out about 78 ball. Carry on the first intent. Give Chardonnay tries left guard breaks it outside, breaks it back inside and works his way works his way out close to midfield. They'll give him The 49 yard like dowel over there, making the tackle harbor. I was so mad. He was pointing at the scoreboard so the referee could look to see the late hit Michigan now going up tempo. Dan Milton in the gun. Now he looks over to the sideline. Is, they think wanted to keep that defense on the field for Michigan State. They didn't want Michigan State to substitute And they got two receivers foot wide, right? They've got a pistol formation. Milton gets it. They give it to sharpen a Germany will get to the line of scrimmage and that's it. Maybe. Harvey, the middle linebacker on the stop, It'll be third down and four after no gain on the play. Quickly. Sidelined card goes to plays ago. Nick Eubanks debuted this season after sitting out last week with an injury. Well, it's great to have the fifth year. Captain back in the lineup. Nick you banks are really leader of this squad. They go five wide. Milton looks throw slant cut, and it's incomplete, Intended for the tight end, Eric all All wasn't ableto Bring it in. Boy. They spread him out with five wide receivers, Dan, I'm surprised they didn't quarterback draw on that play. Cause there was nobody in the middle for the Michigan State defense. Well, it looks like Harvey was was. I think he's got spy responsibilities. But you're right, Jim. He he drifted out of the middle. There were some room there. Milton does it. Take it Take my chances with Milton is Harvey one on one running the ball? In the meantime. Mehler will be deep to return the kick of heart part with a tail dragger. Good kid. Naylor calls for the fair catch. It bounces at the 10 and inside the 10 yard line. To the eight where Michigan State will take over first in 10. 51 left the play first quarter. We're tied at seven in the battle between Michigan and Michigan State. Spartans take over first in 10. They're going to market in the eight yard line. 43 yards on the kick, No return..

"Least. What I think the good thing is apparently coaches or 80 years. I'm not sure which got on the phone yesterday across the conference and started talking about this now, which I think is I think that's actually weirdly overdue. Considering we're only a couple days from this cancellation, like I feel like that conversation should have been had probably before before you even got to the point where the season was canceled right because I think that one of the big reasons people have an issue with everything that's going on right now was the lack of transparency from the Big 10. We don't know what completely went into the decision and all of that, But when it comes to spring like I have a hard time we're seeing it. But it does seem like they're somewhat hell bent on trying to figure out some way for that to happen, so I wouldn't be surprised. I can't imagine it's going to be I mean, it won't be anywhere close to a 10 game swayed, I say, like four is probably your sweet spot number because to me that's kind of where Yeah, it's not really a season. It's not really a schedule, but To preserve some what? The fall season that would be coming up because if they're able tto have a spring season. You're going to be sacrificing whatever you have out of the fall. So because you can't just add, you know, sit there and say we're canceling the season due to player safety concerns. And then turn around and have them hit each other. You know, eight or 10 times in the spring and then asked them to do the same thing in the fall. So I'm sure that there's a sweet spot there. It's not going to be something that really Gets people going the way that season normally would and obviously depending on the timing of it, if I think you're gonna have to either have some indoor games so for some for some teams That's pretty easy, right? Like Michigan and Michigan State. They can just go to AA. They could just go to Ford Field. You know, Ohio State wouldn't be ideal. But like Ohio State, Northwestern. You know those types of teams could ah could go to Indianapolis, but ah You start to get pretty dicey proposition in general. Just by saying, like yes, late February, and we're gonna have games. What's the weather like in the majority of the Midwest in late February? Absolutely abysmal. I Fringe just walking from wherever I parked my car into Chrysler Center for to cover basketball games at that time of year. I can't imagine, uh You know, holds team's suiting up and taking the field at that point, But that said, if they're hell bent on it, I'm sure they're going to try it. Especially with all of the revenue that's being lost out on which I think is gonna have A lot bigger repercussions, then I think a lot of people, including the big 10 presidents realized like completely changed the face of ah of the athletics landscape in the conference. And so if if they're really Ah, Wanting to try toe recoup some of that because I don't think they're going to be able to do it Intonations, then I'm sure that they'll try to find a way to get something in there. I just don't think it's going to be I don't think that would be when we're talking like a full season. I don't think that that's really plausible or probably even possible. You make a lot of good points. But when I hear you say any games, they're gonna affect 2021 I know that they've talked about the health and safety of the players. Playing an exhibition season doesn't seem all that hot to me. Even though that being said I would watch Michigan probably play seven on seven against Eastern over the track and field building. I'd probably pay for it, but I still like, you know, I'm gonna be there for it, but it just doesn't make any sense to me to have your just playing friendlies here. You're not playing for what a a piece of the Big 10 East exhibition title or something? I don't know that That does not make sense to me. How many of these players when you look through him? Do you think that you would say? Like we know the seniors. But when you start talking about some of the guys that have decisions to make Nico Collins I always thought that he was coming back. To push himself into the first round. But I thought he had some work to do. But apparently Todd McShay didn't think so because he had him in the first round. I think Nick Eubanks is a pro. But is he? Somebody that you know is done automatically? You start going through quitting pay. I mean, how many of these guys the angry Thomas? He's an NFL guy. But Is he as good as gone? How many of these guys definitely have you written down, saying that they're probably gone. I mean, pretty much any any of the guys, you mentioned anyone that's ah, likely to be drafted. Senior and possibly even some of the third year. Guys like Jalen Mayfield is another guy that I would probably put on that list. It's gotten first round projections pretty early again, a guy that probably has to show it. Considering. I mean, he's done really well in a single season of play, But you know you want to see these guys build brick on brick, and especially on the offensive line, But I would say a kind of all of the above. Because at this point, you know You're losing a season of football's nothing is guaranteed as you you know, seeing now, especially if the NFL doesn't play. I would imagine that someone like like Niko probably would have. I would have surmised 1/3 round pick last year, Probably at worst, very well could have been a second round. The guy doesn't have the stats as the first round guys with Michigan wasn't his past. Happy is, you know Alabama, Oklahoma were last year, but I think that some of those guys would see that opportunity and be like you know what? I don't want to take me out. You know the chance the risk. Of Ah, Coming back, and not only not being able Tio have a season next year, which I don't think anyone's really intimidating that that's going to be the case by next fall. But, you know, I think that they would just look at this. You know, we don't know what the situation is going to be. What the with the Big Ten's going to look like they get even just the rust..
5 Underrated Marketing Conferences You Should Attend in 2020 | Ep.
"Welcome to episode of Marketing School. I'm Eric Su and I'm Neil Patel and today we're GonNa talk about five underrated marketing conferences. That you should attend in two thousand twenty and I'll start so the first one is traffic think-tank live so we've talked about this slack group where you know smartest. Seo's marketers in general a content marketers are hanging out. I love the Group. I still check it pretty habitually so they have a conference happening in Miami traffic. Think tank live. I believe it's May sixteenth. Check it out because I think they actually limit the amount of people that attend. I remember trying to get a ticket. I think a year or two ago and I just couldn't make it but traffic thing take live. It's ran by Nick eubanks. I think it's got Ian. Forget the name Super Smart. Seo Ian Matthew Barbie of hotspot nil our the next event that I would recommend that you attend. Then you're probably gonNA be like Neil. This isn't a marketing. Event is actually tech crunch. You have all seen Very few marketers have attended it. I've attended so many times the reason I like it. Is You figure out what's happening in your industry. That's going to disrupt you. And this just those disruptive things are actually easier to market and get traction to than if you critic something from scratch so for that reason you attending it. You'll fargo what's trending. What's new what's GONNA BE POPULAR? And if you jump on the bandwagon literally. It's ten times easier to mark something that's amazing or new and fresh than it is to market something. That's a copycat all right number. Three is baby bath water. They have a lot of different types of events of Croatia. I think doing Italy. They're doing New Orleans as well. It's a good excuse to kind of go to these spots usually want to go to but it's amazing marketers amazing ECOMMERCE SAS PEOPLE. That will be there so it's good to learn from different kind of industries and to be able to do it in somewhere like an amazing spotlight. Croatia. That's icing on the cake. Number Four I love. The Bullet. Row Conference series. If you live in the United States you probably have heard of it but you see some of the topics of the markers in the world there and the reason I love it is those people have to produce the R. Y. Without being guaranteed any money. Just think about that. They're spending their own money because they think they can generate an Roi. And if they don't they lose it on early pay per performance and a lot of observed cash flow issues takes months to get paid out but they have to spend the ad money right away. Bad the reason I would recommend it as those guys are super creative and they figured out how to grow with having a lot of budget constraints so just imagine what you can do. Have you can figure out how to grow faster within your budget constraints and also you can learn at affiliate world all right number five last but not least. This sounds a little counter intuitive but I recommend checking out the Ted Conference if you can. It's not a cheap ticket by the different perspectives. You're getting from the people that are there you have. I think Larry Page from Google walking around you have a lot of Just amazing people there to build relationships with each other and you get different perspectives. But also what you're seeing on stage to you're seeing the most groundbreaking things happening around medicine around artificial intelligence around and you get different perspectives of people coming from all over the world to so to be able to do that and figure out how that applies to your industry trends that are coming or things are happening around the world and in relationships that you build. It's extremely high quality like I remember. I was like a restroom minding my own business and I looked to my left and it is. It's radio right. The the Hedge Fund Guy from Bridgewater got a Rope Principles. So you have amazing people and you can go up to them and and talk to them as like. Oh but eric apply to marketing. It does apply because again a lot of marketing is just taking a lot of things from areas that you see twisting it a little bit and just applying to your business and the networks

"So good, except I wish he would addressed up work. Wondering collared shirt, but a dinner jacket or something? I get a chain to tire later call that Michigan sideline was really fired up. But to that touchdown was called back. What's the mood like down on the field? Hall bahrain. All the way down to the five yard line to help. Celebrate that touchdown that. Obviously, the momentum shifted interested to see though is Michigan offense continues with the Rickles Edward told us that they were going to have in their first twenty scripted plays this morning specific we're gonna ride some stuff today that they have never seen that has not been on Phil maybe. Just window-dressing navy? It's new things altogether remains to be seen second possession for the Michigan wolverines shape. Patterson is a quarterback. He's operating out of the shotgun of the left. Hash was heels on the goal is no score. In Atlanta at the chick filet peach bowl Evans, motions out empty back for Patterson. And before he could take the snap. We've got a flag. And a false start back Mishkin up half the distance. Balshaw offense number eighty two half the dismissing the dole Nick Eubanks wide receiver got flagged for movement there quarter back here in the Florida sexy guys in is a little bit loud down here. So you don't expect the noise to have that kind of an impact but little early start. That every seat is filled right now. But it's another sell out here at the chick filet peach bowl. Here's one of those wrinkles three receivers into the tight side into the boundary out of the pistol, this time Patterson turns hands-off Evans added the back. Go back to the five up to eight or nine yard by the market at the eight and a gain of five for the junior from Indianapolis. Chris Evans Taylor. Specifically was what Ed Warner was talking about the wrinkles referencing the run game. How do we get this one game going against a good defensive front? It does a lot of movement wanted to put some tight ends and receivers into the boundary really test their responsibilities and see how they would adjust put the receivers you the boundary there in rain to the field. Good playcalling firsthand. Seconded seven from the Michigan. Eight yard line. No score. Evans is the low back Patterson under center turns hand off to try to run it left side fights through traffic gets dragged down by three different Gators. It's a gain of four Jeremiah moon. I one there were Florida that will leave third and about three and a half. Swalec expect to see the mobility of shape Patterson and keep the football and run it on the first down of the game. But there are going to try to use his legs more more throughout this ballgame. Eight play the game seven runs zero passes so far for Michigan. On third down and four Patterson out of the shotgun points, his right hand. Takes a snap. Drops back to throw looks over the middle. He's got his study at open at the thirty yard line caught by gentry Jeffrey wrestled out of bounds after gain up twenty seven and a great job there by Michigan abusing tempo. I love that. You've finished second down. Go tenfold get aligned on third down Florida was late giddy lined up little miscommunication on where they were going to safety role to the field in that tight. End of the boundary was completely wide open. Chettri the senior from Albuquerque New Mexico third team all big ten performer. Christian turner. The Atlanta native is back in at running back. He takes a handoff left side cuts back behind the line of scrimmage. He was turned around by John Taylor. And he only finds one yard after Taylor. Got into the backfield. Great play. They're by Chauncey Gardiner Johnson. He he's really the heart and soul. This defense. They move him around everywhere they expect him to play deep coverage. They put him at the line of scrimmage. He's there Blitzer great versatility from that nickel spot. There's some question as to whether Choksi Gardner Johnson replay this game seeing some of his pro prospect teammates have a chance Patterson. I play action roles. White fires incomplete. Looking for his tied in Sean McHugh? Off of his hands and filling complete they tried to hide him in the back was a wrinkle if I've ever seen one shot mccune the tight end lined up just off the center, he was really the guard. Except for news about a yard off the line of scrimmage. They tried to sneak him up through the middle of the line of scrimmage on a drag row ball was a little bit by prochet. Patterson? We're already seen a few things that Michigan hasn't done all year. Third down and nine for the Michigan thirty nine. No score first quarter at the peach bowl. True Wilson is in running back down. Patterson reaches with his right hand. Takes a snap with two hands. Looks right now over the middle. He's taken down in the backfield sack by CJ said and Michigan loses seven yards of that play. They'll have to put it away. This is Todd Grantham at his best something to shape. Patterson has gotta see in. No receivers split to the left had a tight end. Which means that's a short edge. You gotta be careful of corner. Blitz on a short edge. And that's exactly where CJ Henderson came from the short left side. She Patterson looking into the right ended up being sacked well, heart punks it away. Freddie. Swain asked for fair. Catch takes it at the twenty five yard line. Forty three yard punt for will heart with night twenty nine left in the first quarter, Florida nothing Michigan nothing..

"Back in Atlanta, Michigan Florida in the chick filet peach bowl. No score here early to Overeen touchdown. What seemed to be a touchdown on their first possession by Christian Turner called back to the stepped out of bounds. Then on a fourth and literally two inches. They were stopped Florida. Couldn't go anywhere had a three and out, but they're clutter Tommy Townsend kicked Michigan deep in their own territory. That's where the wolverines take over on their own second possession on their own five yard line while we we've run five plays. So far, Jim all of them runs. We haven't put the ball area. Evans is the setback. He comes in motion now and Patterson is alone. In the backfield standing at the goal line. Shotgun gets the snap. And we've got a flag thrown and it's legal procedure against Michigan. So be pushed back to the two and a half. Offense number eighty after this. Course now Nick Eubanks got a little jittery jump. So we'll rings now with a first and twelve and for that effort Jim Harbaugh replaces him. And he heads to the sideline. They go pistol now. And Patterson is to yards beacon the enzyme calling for the snap. Gets the ball Evans Evans, straight up the middle. He pounds his way out over the five all the way to the eight yard line Taylor. The safety makes the stock. But that's a good gain of five yards on first down getting them some breathing room. Well, good good effort that time by Evans, showing some power. And and some you know, the ability to pick up a couple of tough yards after contract that she dragged jailer with him for about a good two yards. Two tight end set under center now Patterson one setback Evans gives to Evans. He tries left tackle. And he powers his way over the ten to twelve boy that's some hard running by Chris Evans, moon.

"And just not a great search at a great push by the Michigan offensive line. Give that defensive credit. They've been playing really well lately. But right now, they're being outplayed by the front wall of Indiana there. We're not getting a great search Victor down here. Three receivers split Wright. Patterson in the shotgun. Gets the snap. Looks throws quickly to Nico counts. He's outside of the forty fights his way over the forty five hundred forty six that's good enough for a first down gain of five on the play. Marcellino ball over there to help push him out of bounds. Just a quick wide receiver screen good blocking out in front by Greg Perry. Donovan people's Jones out in front throwing a block as well. I in ten Michigan from their own Forty-six. What an all around football player. He's developed into Jim. Oh number nine special teams offense. Dp out of cash be true. Patterson in the shotgun. Give it to Hickman Higgins got a good whole. He's into Indiana territory to the forty eight yard line in Willison to stop. But Higdon we'll get seven yards on the Kerry it'll be second three with wolverine. Mason and Oliver Martin check in now for wolverines on the second. Three play five thirty eight to play in the half Michigan trails ten nine Donald tight end set. I formation behind shape Patterson. Gets the snap gives it to Higgins Pickton's got real breaks to the left. He gets down inside the forty five to the forty one yard line. That's good for a first down and six yards. It'll be lane the cornerback on the stop Michigan moving the chains here against Indiana. First and ten from Indiana, forty one true Wilson, how checks in his running back with Patterson? Nice block that time by big Mike away new the right guard. He really collapsed in that side of the Indiana. He takes the nose tackling not only walls off, but moves in about two yards to the left gave a nice Alec black and people's Jones, swift wide left Wilson is to the writer Patterson. Patterson Snapface, it the Wilson back to throw grows. Deep down the middle. He's got Nick Eubanks ten five touchdown. Forty one yard strike Sunday Eubanks and the wolverines take the lead over Indiana with a big pass completion Patterson you back. Well, that's I'm Indiana. Just completely loses track of Nick Eubanks thinking he's a blocking tight end. And he doesn't have an Indiana defender within five yards AM. Patterson puts it right on his hands. Eubanks? What's the second tight end lined up to the right side. Zach gentry ran a clearing pattern to the right? And then you banks ran this post down the middle wide open and at fifteen ten Michigan going for to Patterson in the shotgun. Looks throws. He goes out wide Lebanese incomplete he couldn't get it in to his receiver out there that was Eubanks again. So Michigan will still lead fifteen ten but the conversion was that good. And again, a little inaccuracy thereby shape Patterson because he had Eubanks open Eubanks was wide open, and he just over through it by about six inches Eubanks. I think got his fingertips on it. And the reality is that that play was good call. It was there and J Patterson just a bit of an overthrow four forty six left to play in the half Michigan untapped fifteen. Ten down on the sideline duck car. Is the whole thing was rushed. Because the Michigan players who are celebrating didn't realize they were gonna go for to a lot of times guys run off the field. They run through the end zone and then up the sideline off the field. Well, Caesar release was over there. Eubanks was over there. Ideally hurried right back onto the field. And as you notice they got that snap off with one on the play clock. And the whole thing felt rushed. I I wonder if Jim Harbaugh wishes he took a time out there. I'll that Michigan. Touchdown was brought to you by your southeast Michigan Ford dealers. Thank Ford at five of the six receptions for Eubanks this year over twenty there's another one at his first touchdown this season. I wish we'd had that two point converge. Because it was a good call..

Down at the twenty seventy online tie shot clock is in on the tackle. So Michigan with two hundred forty six yards. Total offense to the first half. Rutgers with one thirty five eighty of which came on one play the checkout. Touchdown run. So let's see if the Rutgers defense can't get off the field Tana possession twenty twenty seven. In favor of Michigan to just nine thirty three for Rutgers scarlet knights. Only three first downs tonight. Shape Patterson with behind pistol. Eligible. John. Stop again one. The twenty eight yard line. Guys are bad on on first down when it comes to stop. This is the second and third down if they can convert some of those smaller plays Sega. First down. Twins right now. Motioning to rent Harry. Shotgun was right. Patterson? Lops it down the right side for equals Jones incomplete at the forty eight yard line of rutger's Isaiah Warton coverage. And this is exactly what I want to be now thirty nine his perfect set for them. Now. Find a way to get pressure on Patterson and push them off his spot. Desma be the key component. But not only that you got to keep them contained inside the pocket for the main reason of if he breaks contain then all bets are off these co defensive backs and quarterbacks they don't know where the the quarterback is when they're covering like, that's gotta keep it. The pocket. Third down and nine from the Michigan twenty seven. Here's Patterson propaganda thrill pressure now coming Hennessy throws out near midfield flag. Scown reception is made by the tight end. Nick Eubanks flag at about the thirty five yard line. What's the call there? That'd be off as a pet center ferrets, baby. Kamal officials discussing things. Wow. Holding defense number nine. That penalty has declined the play results in a first down twenty two yard gain on the reception by Zack gentry. Well, they did bring a fresh, right? Derek only problem. They didn't get to time. You know, when you have a quarterback holding the ball for more than four seconds. Chris. I'm going to take a bet right here on say his caprice percent is going to be the Heidi seventy percent time. Shotgun heck into his right hand off back, right? Hey into Rutgers territory to the forty six yard line and a gain of five before took him to the ground by the legs Twenty-one seven Michigan with the lead here early in the third quarter. Now six hundred nine on third outs tonight. That is way way way to six hundred nine the percentage wise, desperate terrible. Second down five pairs Patterson delayed hand off for trying to get outside. Right. Tripped up. Great play made by Isaiah Warton for Rutgers. And that's a loss of a couple. That's a big play right there. From the senior has a cornerback position. There have been alive and coming at them. But able to set that edge. I say a work six tackles, including that one for locks again. Rutgers has Michigan and the third law. I think Chris. Off to fit on third downs. Gotta come up with a stop third down and seven. Moshe for Meco Collins Patterson rolls left. Rolling down the sideline and people. Don't discount it inside the twenty yard line. Hampton was there on the coverage. Perp throw from Patterson? I down Michigan's thirty two yard. This is not easy throw either quarterback rolling to your left side. Christopher saquon blanket coverage is this that shape? Patterson put that Bovis back shoulder where he had to make a play. But in the end, it was a great fro. Triple Jones is fourth. Catch of the day. Fifty seven yards Michigan in the red zone at the sixteen head down to the left of Patterson now. Front here for Rutgers Texas hands it off Hentgen stretch play right? No, sir. Runs in take Roberts back to the line of skirmish. And that's it. Scarletknights and make an emphasis to stop the run here in the second half. Just gotta find a way to make some plays on the passing game. Hi, fishing, and got athletes over that. Second ten three and a half goal by third quarter. Twenty one seven Michigan at the Rutgers sixteen play action. He's got all data throat his Patterson downhill run out to the right still time. Patterson now being chased down paroles for the end zone. Caught. Touchdown catch by Oliver Martin the near side of the end zone. Shape. Patterson making Gosling plays on that drive and just extends the Michigan lead to twenty seven to seven. Rutgers unable to get any pressure right now on Michigan. Two men route as you just as you just mentioned two guys out there. No pressure at all for the scarlet knights. Doing everything they can to cover for as long as they can. Just an improvised play point after is up and good Chris via the ball eight seconds of quarterbacks shape Patterson before three touchdown passes. Cannot have that. Wow. Twenty eight seven Michigan with the lead. We'll take a ton out eleven twelve left here in the third quarter. You're listening to Rutgers football. "You ready to go and get back into it. It should be in this game. I mean, this is basically the second start of this game. We saw the first one. And there was a lot of emotion. A lot of guys flying around I expect when they come out here. It'll be much the same. They'll pick up right where they left off. And it's a challenge you get in that locker room, and you go over some some adjustments. And then you're just sitting around kind of waiting for the call to go back on the field. But I think both teams will be up and ready to go. I like I said both peeves now on the field warmed up there. Now back at their respective benches. We have no scorn this football game. We are in the first quarter. And we'll start after about an hour and ten hour. Fifteen minute delay. Don't have the official time won't until they actually snapped the football. But in the meantime, the stadium has filled out there still some empty seats. Some folks are probably out in the parking lot listening in their cars but Soviet and when we come back Michigan. We'll be looking at a second down and six from their own forty four and a half. They need to get the ball to the Michigan state forty nine down. There's five minutes and fifteen seconds left to play in the first quarter. And the wolverines are now. Back on the field and shape. Patterson is at quarterback. He's in the shotgun. Tarik black on this opening play after the delays split wide left Patterson with a wing, right and Higdon next to him gives the ball to Hayden and Hayden will be put back behind the line of scrimmage at the Michigan forty three yard line. That's a loss of two. It was Williamson unblocked in the front who just got by Caesar. And made a blood, and then when you come out of a delay like that you've got to be focused on on everything that happens, and there's this amidst assignment on that the Red Sea parted Williams was right there to make a play date now for the wolverines. Shotgun Patterson receivers right wing, right? To his left. Takes the snap. Goes back to throw. Lots of time. Lots of time throws ball is incomplete Tipton is that taught by a Michigan player. It is it's called the wolverines will have a first down on a tipped ball inside Spartan territory at the forty seven. Collins comes up with a tip to catch great awareness by Nico college. When that if he doesn't react to that. There's a spot right next to them who picks that ball off great job. And it's about time one of those balls popped up, and we're able to catch we saw that against Wisconsin last week happens for Michigan today. They got the bounce of the ball and converted on that third down. Long setback under center is Patterson. Takes the snap fakes the hig back to throw looking looking deep throwing and he's got his receivers. Nick Eubanks inside the Michigan state twenty five down to the twenty one yard line. Good for twenty six Justin, Wayne, I'm stop what a throw by Patterson. And when we went to break we talked about Michigan taken some deeper shots here. They get Nick Eubanks big I down almost into the red zone. And this is what we had expected from from Michigan. Great pass protection on that. They give you banks the twenty two yard line. Caller twenty five yard game. Shotgun for Patterson to the right? Hey, good. Picton gets the ball cuts. It up inside the twenty down to the eighteen seventeen and sixteen yard line. Good gain of six yards on the play. Jacob panel mix. The stop wolverines. We'll be looking at a second five, and that's where Michigan is going to get most of their yardage on the ground at least right now. And it's been proven to be true. They came out of a time out in the first early in the first quarter couldn't get anything in the middle. I play here after the break. Couldn't get anything up the middle. They're going to have to press the edges to get some yardage on the ground. Well, you can look now at how big that tip ball. Because it gives Michigan new life, and they make the best of it. They're now down inside the Spartan twenty at about sixteen and a half in the shotgun. Patterson to the right of him. Is. They give it the hickories around the left field this way close to a first down at the twelve yard line. He may have half a yard to get the first down. Joe botchy the sparks right middle linebacker brook park. Ohio makes the stop third down in a happy are much like Devin Bush, Joe botches, great sideline to sideline make goods over there. And that is so close he's got only be about six inches away. From getting that first. Our Patterson is in the shotgun. Third and short from the Spartans twelve yard line. Double tight end set. Single setback is. Shotgun. Give it to Hagan Hagan fights his way, and he's to the eleven. He's got the yard necessary for the first down just barely. But he got it. First and ten Michigan from the Spartan eleven Andrew. Dow out of north ridgeville Ohio for the Spartans on the tackle. And this is what this is where the confidence for that. Michigan offensive line really pays off. We've been wanting for so long for them to be able to pick up that yard get that first down. And they've been able to do that today. Patterson brings him out. He splits two receivers left. Vexes a wing, right? To the right of Patterson. Shotgun. Patterson gets. He gives it to the goes over the ten yard line cuts. It back to the eight yard line gain of three second down and eight for the wolverines John rescue on the. That's the same play that we've seen shape. Patterson keep that ball on a couple of times. And that's the beautiful thing about running that option. Read is the defense. Really can't be right. As long as she Patterson makes a good decision. He's going to be able to are going to be able to get some yards and so far Karatas done a great job of reading that play. When he gets to the Patterson and the shotgun to the right of him. Now is Chris Evans. Patterson with wide receiver. They give it to Evans Evans tries committal. Michigan state defense pounds it to the six yard line. Another gain of let's call it three. Call it to it'll be third down in six Kenny Wilkerson, the stop for the Spartans. Very big third down here. They still can't get a first without getting into the end zone. But it's only about a half yard from the first down market to the goal line. So they're gonna have to take a shot at the end zone. Markdavis back to the seven we'll call it. The seven thirty six the Spartan seven. A slot. Win left. Receivers to the right and the clock runs down to where the end of the first quarter. So.

"The Marine Corps emblem. What's your call? With falls tales, which is the Marine Corps emblem. Tails? So Michigan wins the toss Koran Higdon called tails, and it came up tails. Here's your starting lineup. Brought to you by rude for the wolverines they'll go offense worse. It'll be across the front left tackle, Jon Runyan left guard. Ben Bredesen's release the center, Michael Owen you right guard. And right tackle, Jon bushel. Bady at tight end, you'll have Zac Chettri, Sean McCue and Nick Eubanks, Audrey. We'll see action at the outside receiver. You'll see Nico Collins. Donovan people's Jones grant, Perry Ronnie bell. And we may see Tariq black today. His first action of twenty eighteen in the backfield Koran Higdon and Chris islands will get most of the carries at running back. You also may see chew Wilson quarterback shape. Patterson will be taking the snaps at fullback and running back on occasion. Then Mason will be in there today starting on up. Brought to you by rude. Rely on rude. So what will leans will get the football. Be moving left to right across the floor of sports stadium. This is a natural grass field. One of the few laughs. In america. But it's really well taken care of. And it's a great venue for college football and Michigan Michigan state. You just doesn't get any better than that. I can still remember this moment as a player of of walking out there. You're feel like your feet aren't even touching the ground for the coin toss and then standing on the sidelines. Anticipating you're getting the ball in in going out there and being the first on the field to to make a statement and make something happen. And for those of you who haven't played in a game like this, John. And I have people say that I hit it's true that I contact sets you up for the day, doesn't it does. And it sets the tone. You.

"Wide receiver out Darryl Stewart questionable for Sparty. LJ scott. Who was supposed to be the mean guy in the backfield. He's missed the last couple of games. He's still questionable book defense. Their minus one Saks up in turnovers. Have a couple of good guys on the line of scrimmage, willa, kiss and Williams that are solid batch endow there two leading tacklers from the linebacker position and Justin lane good solid corner has thirty two solo tackles, so those are you leaders there, but will work he's a guy. Eight touchdowns seven interceptions doesn't have the same cast of characters. Again. They thought they were gonna have a great receiving core. Even risings kid who has transferring thought he was coming back was going to be good last week for me and blue for Michigan. They finally saw the best of shape. Patterson? Patterson rushed the ball nine times ninety yards and a touchdown. And you know, that's huge because he only threw for one hundred twenty one or whatever it is. So yes, thirteen hundred eleven yards passing on the season. Ten touchdowns. Three picks. And they were solidly held Wisconsin to two hundred eighty three total yards. They put a four forty four themselves. Receiving wise. They've got. Some pretty good guys in Collins people's Jones, gentry who had a small game last week against Wisconsin. Only one reception five yards in Nick Eubanks tight end needs to step up a little bit more. But defensively Rashawn, Gary. No he missed last game defensive end. It's pretty saw. But you have one of each in Devon Bush are leading tackler there. Plus three turnovers. Quin nor Dini better makers feel it was only three five against Wisconsin didn't need it because they were able to open it up late. But again, sporty better get it together. Here's the thing with Sparty it was hard the back back in about a decade ago somewhere like that said something about, you know, Michigan's like the big brother in this series ages always beat up the little brother Michigan state since then. I wanna say Michigan state is covered ten straight and they're eight and two straight up. So sometimes you open your mouth gets the other team riled up. Michigan state points to this game big time and Harbaugh. I will tell you this. He is under pressure to win this game. Because again, Sparty not the best but still dangerous. Covered ten straight very impressive in this series. So looking forward to that one. All right. We've got some other big games coming up. I talked about Utah and USC again this game looked bigger at the beginning of the year. Now, it's still relevant as far as the Pac twelve south because these are the two teams that are vying for that right now. But Tyler Huntley has gotten it together for you tie. He struggled mightily against Washington and their leading receiver Britain Covey how about this kid again kid weighs on a buck fifty soaking wet but thirty nine receptions, four hundred five yards, but he has no touchdowns calmly. You give them a little flair pass. Let them take one in the end zone. Simpkins has twelve receptions and a touchdown on Nuku has fifteen receptions in two touchdowns. So we need to get Covey the ball. But I tell you this kid got pummeled three or four times over the middle against Washington. I didn't think he's gonna last the game. He's tough is. Now is this kid Zack Morris has done a nice job at the backfield. Six hundred seventeen yards seven touchdowns. He's received another one cheese. Hansen senior linebacker for the kiddo. Play on Sundays. He's dynamite. He's one of those football players. He gets it right place. Right time. Their mind is to turn overs there. Plus three on the sack department. Be six pm local time fifty seven degrees. Southern Cal comes in GT Daniels. He's maturing again, his fellow freshman receiver Amman Ross Saint Brown. Both coming.

This is Tiki barber with a CBS sports minute. There's a saying in the NFL that you either getting better or you're getting worse. No one stays same. The Jacksonville Jaguars were half a quarter away from representing the AFC and last year Super Bowl and the prevailing thought was that. They would be one of the favorites in the AFC this year. That's currently nowhere near being true. The Jags have regressed, and there are a few reasons why one they don't have Lennon for net. One guy doesn't make a team for net is a bruiser who helps this offense get first downs, especially when Blake Bortles decides the play below average as he's want to do. Secondly because they can't get first downs. They can't play complementary football that is their defense. Despite being one of the best in the game is exhausted and compromise because the offense has too many three and outs. It's still early and they're not done yet. But this Jack's team, but a figure out how to get better real quick. I'm Tiki barber. "Honestly, I heard Milwaukee is is in it. Milwaukee come on. Who was it? I was in a movie mil- Milwaukee. That's how I've always said it since I watched that movie. It's his ability not Bill and Ted's. Excellent Vescio was I think it was I wanted to go back and confirm that I'm curious who won last year's World Series. The Tigers aren't in. I have no idea I'm gonna I'll take a guess say the Yankees the Yankees are Boston. Not terrible. The Yankees lost nail CS Houston one at all great seven game series, John. Oh, that's right because avert Lander former tiger. Yeah. Forgot about that was was in it and they lost her. They beat and they beat the L A team which one. Well, technically, there's only one L A team. Right. Because the other one is the the Los Angeles Anaheim angels. Wow. Maybe you do know more about baseball than you think. Now, I know a little bit about the west coast teams did you ever play baseball when you were young. I love baseball. I did. And I actually had a chance to play baseball. How to work out with the Mets and the Tigers when I was in in in my junior and senior year of high school, but they had asked me to give up football. If they were going to draft me, and I said no can do. That's just a that's unacceptable sacrifice. Something tells me you might have been more animated than just saying no can do. Yeah. There was there wasn't much that that I thought about on that question. We got some great, actually Brian. I've got a funny story to tell you let's do this this this week October to nineteen ninety four was the day that Michigan beat Iowa in the big house was also the day that I committed Gary Moeller offered me a scholarship after the game. And I could not say yes fast enough. And most people will probably think it's crazy that I remember that. Maybe if they know me, they probably won't think, it's crazy. But it was also it is also my dad's birthday so quick quick. Little happy birthday to to dad. That's really cool was with coach molar. I remember you telling a story during a pre game show about was the coach Moore who said we're gonna teach you how to punch miles less mile. So I'm on my viz. And and less brings me in. And I think I'm going to be a pass catching tight end touchdown loving guy. And he brings me in and he's talking about. You know, how we block at Michigan? It doesn't matter if you're tight end or if you're an offensive lineman. We're gonna teach you how to block and we're going to teach you how to punch and we're going to teach you how to take the air out of another man's chest. And when he was talking about that. And with his passion that he that he had for Michigan. And that he has for the game of football. I was I was sitting there going. Yes, coach, let's go. It was it was an amazing moment. And a heck of a lot of fun. And yes, he did teach me how to remove the air from another man's chest. Well, happy Michigan anniversary, John. That's cool. Thank you. All right. That was from in the trenches this week, John Jansen podcast that you can hear wherever you get your podcast forget there'll be a post game edition of in the trenches with analysis thoughts on the locker room and the head coach Jim Harbaugh that is a couple hours after the game. Michigan and Maryland one fifteen kick. So they are expected to get underway at one fifteen from here at the big house. In fact, they are starting to pour out of the tunnel. Not the players, the coaches and support personnel. Getting the side mindset. The teams will be on the field. Shortly warming up for this one one fifteen kicked open up the gates at twelve thirty. So those of you listening in your cars around the stadium here tailgating, twelve thirty the gates open one fifteen they'll kick it off. Michigan in Maryland, Doug cars, John Jansen as we continue on the ramtruck pre-game show on it's time for our offensive scouting report. Michigan enters today coming off a about a good half of offense last week John against northwestern. But you know, what the big ten thirty seven point four points a game and people say all the schedule everybody places everybody plays cupcakes in the. Conference schedule thirty seven four games now bad the offense. There's a high high standard and because the defense ranks among the nation's leaders, I guess we then turn our attention to the offense. This is not an offense that it's pathetic at this point. No, it's not it's an offense. And when you have a quarterback like shape Patterson, you always feel like you're in a game. That's why I felt last week against northwestern. We had a chance to win that game. Because we got a guy back there who makes good decisions can make plays and can lead to lead an offense down the field. And it's exactly what he did. And when you've got a running back like karate hidden who is a strong in the fourth quarter as he is in the first quarter. I think that makes a huge difference. And he we had the quote from him in the in the pre game show. If you missed it. He says he's his style. Koran didn't likes to run through your face. Yeah. And and and leading up to that quote to I I could see where he's going and he used a quote from marshawn Lynch running back for the raiders right now. And you could hear me in the background going all. Oh, yeah. That comment. I want to run through your face feel like you're about to go to the locker room and put on a uniform and go play I've standing there. Okay. There's two of us. He's got a microphone I got a microphone we're recording. This and I'm I'm I actually stand up. I'm ready to give them a high five. That's the kind of running back you like block and forty second in the league in rushing right now shape. Patterson meanwhile, fourth in the league in pass efficiency, he is completing sixty eight point five percent of his passes. It gave coordinator pep Hamilton evaluates where the offense is now. And where he would like to see it improve. We feel like the offense is a sending you know, is starting to feel feel right with regards to you know, the way guys are communicating the trust and confidence that shea has into protection in the receivers getting to despite anticipating throws no different for Koran and rang game. He can count on the guys up front opening holes for him. And so as you know, we, you know, like, we always talk talk about our goal is to make progress on the week to week basis. You know each week. There's a story line with the offense that was the deep balls in a couple of those non conference games last week. I thought the storyline was shape. Patterson making plays with his feet sometimes by design sometimes not. Yeah. And I think you're gonna see a lot more of those plays called where he gets outside the pocket, and he's got the run pass option and some of those he may be able to hand off somebody's gonna be able to keep somebody's gonna be able to throw and all of those things give this Michigan offense just another weapon. Another tool to work with why did ask pep Hamilton. Is it always by designed to get shade Patterson out there running around? No this instinctive, you know, for him, you know, with regards to, you know, just when plays breakdown was in his toolbox. And he has shown that when the play gets off schedule his competitive instincts kick in and he just wills himself to finding ways to make place. Well, there's a critical third and sixth. This was by design at north western now had just scored a touchdown when they put the diamond formation split out to the left. They brought Ben Mason emotion. They ran a zone read he handed it off right up the middle to Kron dinner scored the touchdown. Same look. They brought Ben Mason emotion this time he faked it to Koran Higdon the entire northwestern defense crashed down on Koran that was one guy that could stop shape Patterson. He made a mess and ran seven yards for a first down. That's the kind of play. And that's the kind of thing that I expect this Michigan offense to do more of as we get deeper in the schedule and some some bigger games. And when you look at that whole setup you've got that diamond formation, so yeah, okay. You got a lot of weapons over there that Shaka throw it to you bring based Ben Mason, and he put them at that wing. And all of a sudden the defense is taken while they're gonna run over here because they've got a great blocker Aben Mason. Then they, you know, it's an easy read for shae Patterson because all he's doing is reading that defense a better outside linebacker, depending on the defense. And if that that linebacker defensive and collapses down he keeps it if he doesn't he hands it off. And they can't be right. It's it's either going to be a great play for Ron or it's going to be a great play for shape. Patterson? Well, the teams have taken the field here in Ann Arbor at Michigan stadium. And so we'll rains and Terrapins are out there warming up. Michigan Maryland will kick it off at one fifteen after this delay gates open at twelve thirty Johnson. Doug cars continuing on the ramtruck pre-game show with our offensive scouting report. Maryland's defense is solid against the run so far then the pass Michigan's tight end position loaded last week Nick Eubanks joined the party with a couple of big catches. You talk to them this weekend in the trenches. And when you get a chance to have Zack century, Sean mccune, Nick Eubanks all his weapons that you throw that in there with Donald people's Jones. Nico Collins a defense can't cover everybody all at the same time. So it allows different players different games to be open and as long as hate shape. Patterson's going to deliver that football those guys just have to catch the ball. And that's what Nick Eubanks was able to do now last week Michigan got flagged for a hold by an offensive lineman. The first all year that group is clearly developing. It's not been bad so far, but the first hold of the year came last week against northwestern something that the wolverines the kind of superstitious about what we don't talk about it. You know, taboo to talk about you know, the penalties and the streak of not having the holding penalties. You know, it's just a testament to coach Warner and the job that he's doing and really instill in the proper fundamentals and techniques and our guys up front. I'm sure at Warners talking about it and the offense of lime but pep Hamilton says he doesn't want to jinx it. But. That's pretty good work by that group. Tough to do it really is. And and they've they've been in positions where they could have had those holding calls, and it's it's great discipline. Because when you get beat. As an offensive lineman. The first thing that you want to do is reach out and grab guy. And and and tried to snatch up to you. And see if you could get away with it. Well, they haven't succumb to that that feeling of of trying to make up from a stake. They're not they're not gonna make a bad mistake worse by getting a hold of call and that's great discipline. Something to watch for today. Coming out of the halftime locker room, Maryland is blown out opponents outscoring them seventy three to twenty four in the second half of their four games. So far this year. Michigan in Maryland. That is offensive scattering import defensive scattering report is next year listening to Michigan football them hires nica contractors for construction jobs. It's supporting equal pay for minorities and.

Can I can I tell a two minute story. I guess. Make two minutes long. But go ahead. I'm timing you now. Okay. So a couple years back. My brother used to have these bar crawls at the end of his accounting season. He would be, you know, completely just working eighty hours a week. He'd have these huge bar crawls when he was done to celebrate. And we went to we're in Ann Arbor, and we were bouncing around and we end up at the Heidelberg that towards the end of the night, and we came in there, and we were having his bar crawl. And there was a sorority that was having a bar crawl at Michigan in Heidelberg, and they were all Pissy that we were crashing their particular bar with our bar crawl and they wanted us to leave. So they actually we're like, no, we're not going to go anywhere. Like, they challenged us a bunch of sorority girls challenge. A bunch of men that do have nothing better to do with themselves than drink beer to a boat race and whoever won the boat race would stay stay round and lost a boat race would have to leave and we kicked their rear ends. And then they're like, oh, you're not really going to make us leave are you? And of course. You know, what we did? And we we made them leave. So and pretty much were not anything like saying anything that I would get in trouble for. But just was like get the hell out of here where you know, you guys got your butts kicked. That type of talk. So. Don't and I'm not even a huge beer drinker. But my brother can put it down in a couple of his friends from just like crushing it crushing it. So if you've never been MS we'll have to have a boat a boot race at Heidelberg sometime. Linda's putin. Yeah. Did I do in two minutes? Yeah. In fact, you've got time to spare. So okay. We're not gonna let you go on this for two minutes. I've heard that serve before. So, but yeah. Dazs boots India? Okay. Okay. All right. So our players to watch for this weekend's game looking at. I mean, if you want to have a Maryland guy you can throw in Maryland guy in there. But I'm looking at Michigan guys players to watch on both sides of the ball who are you going to be paying attention to who do you wanna see a bounce back game or a breakthrough game or big game? Whatever rationale you want to use. So who are you looking for who is your paying attention to in this game on Saturday? Let's see let's see Jon Runyan junior. See what he's got against Jesse any bone them. He's a he's a force. He's good. Jon Runyan has been. Playing well as of late got a lot of scrutiny early on. And this is kind of his first real true. I guess that's not fair to Joe Gaz Yano at northwestern. But any anybones NFL caliber defensive end, I think he's someone who will eventually be playing on Sundays already got a couple of sacks this year. And you know, who did very well against him. Michigan fans on remember this name. It'll be a oh that that's right. Calvin Anderson left tackle at Texas. The guy that Michigan was very much. No, that's right. So that's that's a big one for me. I think if he if Runyon passes that test, you know, Ohio State, you're just gonna kind of take what you take. But I think that would be a sign that he has improved quite a bit from week one. You know? And also just how they how we picks things up. How he how he plays? He's is not just the matchup. It's it's the player himself. I think I think Khalid cuts in you know, this is a big game for him big opportunity because he can kind of help neutralize that speed Maryland has now Devin Bush can as well, but click Hudson we haven't quite seen him. Look like that all big ten caliber player, frankly, all American caliber player that many thought he was going to be this year. And so big game for him. I think I think the the peaks in the valleys of the season. I would suggest that he could use a big game that it would really benefit him heading into pivotal couple couple of weeks because it was consonant Michigan state. They know who he cuts in is they're they're to do. You know, if there's a formula out there to stop him. They're going to try to find it. And so he's able to kind of creates an intimidating presence. That's big without the targeting, right? Right. And then one third guy defense queenie pay zoom. Gary does play. I assume he's not gonna play a ton. And and so quickly pay can look good that can take some of the pressure off of the wolverines to play Gary. And that that also, you know, there's an opportunity for him to make some big plays. And and he can be he can be as impactful on this defense is he wants to be any kind of showed me a little bit of the signs of that down in Evanston. So those would be my three on defense on offense. I know it's like the same. I guess I did one one offense to defense. Yeah. What's your sour, look, man? I thought. You're going to do one each. And then you're going to do then you added a third one, which was totally fine. But then you're like, okay. This is my three and even three on offense. I'm going to take everybody. I didn't. I didn't know we were doing one each said. No, it's not giving us fully fund. Misery got I think I'm going to be keeping an eye on the Senate. Really? I'll be honest with you then tire. Linebacking corps. You're going to be honest with us. I I only give you honesty would never lied to us Zack. Also tell you that one point I was a a Playgirl model as well. To know that was a lie. But I I'm gonna I'm gonna save really the big thing for me is is keep an eye on the whole linebacking core. I mean, you've got a mobile quarterback with Maryland. Who is got he's well, he's I if I'm not saying he's actually the top rusher on the team as well to. Nope. Nope. No. Okay. I'm sticking, okay. Mistaken. I am Sekine, but not not very mobile, actually. But he's got the other kid that could come in pigro. Yeah. So I mean, you do have that threat at you know, with a mobile quarterback, though, still that's something to keep an eye on Ford for me. It's so, you know, who's gonna spy the quarterback really the anyone has got a mobile quarterback going forward really is going to be the guy that's going to be the quarterback is going to be Devon Bush. Is it going to be someone else is going to be, you know, Josh Ross who is going to be? Yeah. And it's interesting because MS it's been different people in different games. Right. It's been it was Devon Bush against Brandon wimbush in the Notre Dame game last week. They didn't really spy Clayton Thorson that much. They did use like Devin Gill was would keep an eye on hammer. Josh Ross we'll keep an eye on him. But I will tell you what the linebackers to. I mean, the fact that tie Johnson and Anthony MacFarlane are involved in the passing game. And if those linebackers guys ended up having to defend them, then this is going to be the biggest challenge for Devon Bush in terms of covering a running back that he's had all season 'cause this kid is legit fast. He's a good pass catcher. And they will use him in that passing game. Exactly. I think the other the other. Other player to me the lookout for would be whoever the second string running back is going to be mean, we obviously I mean, you're you're gonna look at it. Whether to me is going to be one of the big bags of this game. Koran shouldn't have an issue. He's he's to me. He's the thunder. And you're looking for who the who the lightning is Chris Evans going to be that second-string. Will he be back for this game? Is it going to be true Wilson will he be in their Samuel's gonna be in? You know, who's going to be the second guy to take over? You know, be the guy that let, you know Koran take a break. One answer g say, that's true. Because I mean last week we saw true Wilson, get one Kerry. And that kind of backed up Zack's argument that that most of his opportunities had come in the second half are coming games where they were winning by a lot. And so even though they like him. He did he was actually in a couple of times for pass pro where he's he's good at bat. But maybe they don't have enough confidence in him to make him the true number two in terms of we got chronic a little bit of a breather here who you know, who putting in. So they've got to develop that guy without without Chris Evans in the game. They've got to develop who that guy is that they feel comfortable with in the first half taking some of those carries. From Kron higgin because thirty carries a lot of curious, and especially you can get away with it for one game. You can't do you can't give a guy thirty carries for for twelve games. Right. And then my third one is going to be will heart. And here's my thing if whether it's going to be an is going to be an issue in this game. There's gonna be a lot. There's going to be a lot of punching back and forth. We haven't seen we'll heart punts in basically, incumbent weather, like we could see the Saturday, and we've seen the a lot of flops and bloopers from this past weekend with the Nebraska kicker who just slipped when he's trying to cake, and they had some wet weather before the game against Purdue. We've seen a couple of other kind of flubs as well. Throughout college football this entire season or punters are having an issue with kicking when you've had wet turf. So I'd like to see how we'll heart's gonna be during this game if he has to punt. All right. I like it. I like it definitely the the the special teams the the field position is going to be important in this one and we'll heart under tremendous job for Michigan so far, but he's been he's been putting in pretty ideal conditions thus far. This season. So how does he do? If the weather is inclement tomorrow, my players to watch, you know, I'm right there with MS and the linebackers I got done Bush. I mean, we said earlier in the week one tackle one tackle last week against northwestern. The lowest amount in a start for Devon Bush. I again, I kind of explain why Washington a terrific job scheming him out of the box on passing plays by putting the running back in motion or running him out on routes as opposed to letting him sit back. There's an extra blocker on running plays. They they got a hat up there. They combo blocked really well with their guard and their center, and we're able to get to the second level and take Devin Bush out. So that's gonna be a recipe that other teams are going to follow. And so how does Michigan, and how does Davin Bush respond because you know, he was he was around the ball. But they you know, they need him to be that playmaker. In the middle of the defense that he has been for most of the season for most of his career the players to watch. I'm really curious the tight on spied, Nick Eubanks. You know last week. We saw him catch two balls after Sean mccune had a drop. We never saw another ball targeted to Sean McEwen. Are we seeing a transition being made right now between those two tight ends. I still think mcewen's a little bit better but blocker. But are we is is mccune on? I wanna say, you know, a life support. But I mean, he was he's really gotta prove himself right now. Because it seems like coaches are losing confidence. I'm not going out for passing routes in the second half of that game. So could we see more of Nick Eubanks at the tight end spot? So that's my second player to watch and then shape Patterson shape. Patterson going forward here..

"Two yards in nine plays after the fourth down. Stop John Bolton a three yard run. It is seventeen to nothing northwestern leading Michigan. Here's a guy who's had a little success against the Michigan. Wolverines had his coaching career that head men's basketball coach at northwestern. Chris Collins about to embark on a new season. Which by the way, we're going to broadcast here on WGN as lucky ball will kick off angry Thomas deep the ball towards handle feel that four yard line. Haggling left. Cuts back to the fifteen in has across the twenty to the twenty one. I get aid your team captains for the upcoming season yesterday. Chris, and I can't imagine you could have made a better choice. Three guys three seniors who've been part of your success here. Yeah. I've been really proud of the leadership all spring and summer Derek part, Vic law, Jordan, Nash, three guys that have big key parts of of our building is a program. They've been a part of a lot of winning through ups and downs. They've set a great tone for so far the Susan Collins out to the right I down Michigan for their own Twenty-one. Ben Mason and Koran Hegde the backfield quacking quarterback Patterson. They bring the freshman bell in motion. Instead they'll hand bursting at the middle Picton thirty thirty five and upended at the thirty nine yard line. A gain of eighteen yards. Brought to you by JR pace. You haven't that coming up this week? I did want to mention it's the twentieth eighteenth season sneak peek event, tell us about that in conjunction with the coaches vs. Candor Cancer Foundation through the American Cancer sociation. It's going to be a night. Dave rep simple BT, Ed myself. My dad college basketball at just get everybody fired up for a for a great season to support a great cars to ten they had been looking for running room on the left side. He struck out and pulled down the forty-three after a four yard pickup by Patty Fisher. That will be on Thursday night. There are. I understand still tickets available at season sneak peek dot com, it's at the Chicago Athletic Association that should be great night, which it's gonna be fun. You know, anytime I get together with my old man, and we could three stories and talk Sebastian ball, if you're into basketball, if you like the Gable will be well worth your time. Not that second out at six for Michigan. And the snap to Patterson Patterson with time wins the far side coming back to make the catch. Nico Collins surrounded dropped a yard short of the first of the forty eight yard line. Nate hall was there. Patty Fisher was there. Here's another short yard situation for the wolverines third at a yard to go. You've got your your new guys in can't been practicing for what a little over week. Now. How's it going? It's going. Well, so far love are newcomers. We have six new guys for freshmen to transfer. All that will be really good at it, wildcat purple. I'm excited about our group will see we could do the cats can make a stop here. A third one for the wolverines who trail seventeen give to the first man through the full-back. Mason plows off the right side to midfield. He's got a I doubt. So it all starts getting member. Second the first game here at the brand new Welsh rat arena that the season starts just a matter of a. Few nights after that. And there are still season. Tickets limited season tickets remaining. I know, but I should be a fun year. The big ten be tough. As always we know that as always. But I think we're just excited we're back on campus. There's a good energy. And it's going to be a great year victim first and ten at midfield for Michigan. Patterson the play fake Patterson wants to throw beat now. Grossman airside making a cash it out of bounds. I love it here sinus, Nick Eubanks the second team tight end. Not a bounce inside the thirty zero flag on the plane. Eubanks is shaking up Eubanks shaken up at the twenty nine yard line of the Wildcats. That's their biggest pass play of the day. They've had their biggest running play the biggest past play on this drive. And Michigan's got a first down to the north western twenty nine. Timeout. All the other fields. We have all been here. Coach give us just a quick thumbnail on on your freshman year. Four man class really excited probably headed to young men that you know, on paper, two of the most talented guys we've been able to recruit Pete Nance out of Ohio, certainly comes from a great pedigrees father, Larry dance, seniors brother, Larry dance junior. Both of the players are biller cop outstanding wing player at Houston, Texas, as well as Ryan Greer who's a point guard from Atlanta, Bryan, Young from Pennsylvania. So we have a big senior class we needed to reload with some good young players are really excited about what these guys are before this year. But also the future can't wait to see these guys in action to can't wait to see the new Welsh rider rhythm. I intend Michigan northwestern twenty nine ten minutes to go first half seventeen nothing north western on a reverse. They pitched to the near side to thirty people's goes to the twenty two the fifteen tightropes beside lots and finally knocked out of Alice by the line. Wildcats you down inside the five light Gallagher him over made to stop the five. I first goal for the wolf rate. So they've answered after getting down seventeen nothing they've come back with a threat here to get all the board and cut into this seventeen point wild. Kathleen. So coach, I'll tell you what we'll spring you. Let you go. Enjoy the rest of this game. But get good luck to you. Bet is Thursday night. Chicago lead association have fun, and we will before too long. Awesome. Dave, go cats. Let's get a win today. All right. You got it. Chris college basketball coach I picked it up to the end zone. Touchdown michigan. Or they just opened up for him to right up. The middle told her out through at Michigan is on the board with night, fourteen to go with the first one you knew that was going to happen sooner or later, your gonna shut them out. But one thing is they did wake up and they had two big plays one on their biggest place both on the ground in the air as you mentioned and then on that reverse great job of blocking at the point of attack. They turned the corner that's a cardinal sin. They turned the corner, and he got a gun inside the five. Nordine on for the for Michigan. Here is no snap. The kid is good. The wolverines are within ten with nine fourteen to go to the half its northwestern. Seventeen. Michigan seven this north western football, presented by wintrust on seven twenty WGN. Owes Ingo wants the places we live.

"Michigan one hundred thirty yards for north western Twenty-one from Michigan low end over and kicked coming down to Thomas at the four. He's gonna return it up the middle of the twenty brakes around the right gets to the twenty one for brought down. And the wolverines will take over their first and ten from their own twenty one yard line. Nathan FOX on the stop special teams for the Wildcats. The very important dry for Michigan. Not just in this game. But in their in their football season right now. Seventeen nothing in the second quarter in Evanston. Big they they need to respond. They need to get something going on offense. Even if they don't put points on the board. They need to be able to move the football Ronnie bell and Meco Collins other two wide receivers to running back, Mason and Higdon and here comes bell in motion. Shotgun the givers the Hagan right up the middle thirty yard line to the thirty nine yard line. Big hole for Iran. Hagan? Good for a first down safety JR pace makes this with help from Jared. Mcgee eighteen yards on the run right up the middle. And now they need to line up and do the same thing. Don't get fancy. Just hit him in the mouth hand the ball off and walk off another first down. This time people's Jones and Collins are split left double tied in just the formation. The give the hickory they try around left end Picton breaks it. He's over the forty. He's to the forty three yard line gain of five on the play. Fisher makes the stock along with Blake Gallagher for northwestern sucker down and six Koran bounced out to the judge there if he could have just made one more bounce with gotten outside the defense. There was a lot of green grass just wasn't able to make that last little last little jaunt to get out there. Three receivers four receivers. Shotgun for Patterson into his right? Gets the snap. Back to throw. Looking throws ball is caught by Collins. These sort of the first down to the forty eight yard line. It's about a yard short of the first town before he's brought down over there. Look like my trae Hartwich ornate hall both of them on the stop. And that brings up a third down in short thirty one for the wolverine. And that's where you tell young. You can't always get to that first. But you tell the young receiver. To that first down market, they go, I formation Mason is in front of Hagan. Double tight end set short yardage. Look. This the snap. Give the Mason Mason pounds his way out to the fifty down into north western territories to forty nine and the bitch moves the chains for the wolverines down on the sideline crash guys. Those first two running plays in this series were easily the bells well-blocked running place. Michigan had so far in this game. They reset the line of scrimmage on the first one that third one with test. Obviously after falling short on the fourth and one and you're right. They need to get something going because this isn't about right now. It's all northwest. It's been it's been route. Double wing for the wolverines under centers Patterson. Fix to hit back to throw lots of time. Patterson throws. He's got you the thirty yard line in north western territory and Eubanks is knocked out of the twenty nine JR pace knocks him out of down and Eubanks is slow to get up. Good for twenty one on the play. Good protection shape. Patterson had plenty of time to stand back. There allows receivers to get open and then deliver the football and Eubanks is you makes us still down. They're gonna they're gonna run them. They're gonna they're gonna hold down. He's out of bounds about five yards, but he's still down and they cannot run the play with him there because he's right about where the line of scrimmages Eubanks took a real good shot from JR pace paces outta college park. Six one two hundred delivered a shot to Nick Eubanks who made the catch the gun. Michigan a big I down in western territory. John their deepest penetration in north western territory today, and we got ten ten left to play in the hat, and this drive was all started by that Koran Higdon first down run because they were able to come out and control the line of scrimmage create some holes in exerts some dominance upfront and soon as you do that they have had no issues in pass..

"We spent a lot of time as you preview CS and people talk offense and to do a couple more questions about that. We'll get to moment people obviously talk defense which we've addressed, but a lot of times with overlooked. I know you have to worry about a holder. And then obviously you had a couple of young guys kicker and punter last year. Just curious how the kicking punting and all that stuff is trying to come together early on and can't go. You look at the battery. First of all, when you're talking about the field goal unit snapper to holder, the kicker that batteries coming along nicely, Cameron Cheesman returns as the as a snap or Quin Nordine returns as the field goal kicker, and we'll heart. As the holder. So very, very solid there and has been quite a bit good competition at punter. The returners are really good competition there as well. So the great Jordan Glasgow, I mean, plays on all four teams. You know, you talk about a stalwart football player. I mean, who's figured all these things out that we've been talking about just like his two older brothers did. How would you like to be Dr Glasgow? How would you like to be Steve glass? Cow, three sons all played started in college football, and then about two out of the three sons on playing with the Detroit Lions and one playing with the Cincinnati Bengals. If he puts three sons in the NFL. You think that that would have to be a record varies. I be close. I told him the other day I very envious that is is really incredible. But Jordan's doing the same thing. That is to older brothers to to have us our special teams most five player last year, and he's every day every single day to an all the good things that we've been talking about just as an observer that watches practice. I don't know if there's a guy on this team works harder than he does. I mean, he we're not argue that he every play. He runs a Defoe. He's going to run it down. They run to the goal. He'll round. He energy unknown to mankind. What a, what a great role model for for someone who wants to be the football player. No question about a watch him and do like he's been doing it like he does. It come up thing before we wrap up. This football preview brought to you by Hyundai. I was talking about it this week and as we progress through it, you look at things that you'd like to do in the past and you've done here offensively I love this tight end group. You got a six eight to sixty two guy. You've got a couple of six, five to fifty guys seems like you have a lot of weapons in the ability to be really creative with your. And group yet and think we're going on a really, really good direction. They're talking about Zach, gentry and Sean McKean. Both are really playing well and to to new freshmen that are going to be good ball players. And Nick Eubanks really emerged as is right there right behind mccune and gentry. But I think they're really, you know, the two of really, really matured really seasoned really learned how to like Jack Zack gesture, for example. I mean, you know, really learn how to use the the six eight frame. And you know, there's, there's times where you expect them to be jumping up and he's kind of coming down, you know, miss time in his jump and he had one of those in practice the other day. But he's, he's, he's he's improved so much with the body control and you know, hey, you chump to get this ball. We're talking seven feet in the air. I mean, if you're getting it on the on the way down now you're, you're not, you're five, seven, you're not. You're not six eight. So his is blocking is is night and day he, he is really good. Sharon more are tight. End coach has has just been fun, nominal phenomenal football coach. And that room is, I mean, it's a tight knit group and and Sharon is coaching them with with great energy and real understanding of the offense..
