"1215. I'm Nick ein Ellie. Thanks for being with us. In just a couple of hours, former president Donald Trump will be before a judge in Manhattan after a grand jury voted to indict him last week. He's facing criminal charges in connection to a hush money payment, paid to an adult film star during the 2016 presidential campaign. The former president is expected to be arrested and fingerprinted, though CBS News reports he will not have a mugshot taken, security outside the courthouse as you can imagine is really intense and let's go there right now live with CBS WCBS reporter Marla diamond, who is there. So Marlo really curious to know what the environment is like out there. Can you describe some of the things that you've been seeing so far today? Well, Nick, these protests, both pro and anti Trump began as early as 8 o'clock this morning when reporters had to stand in a long line in order to get a ticket to be in that courtroom to hear Donald Trump when he pleads not guilty. So about 60 reporters were allowed in. What is happening outside, I would say is like a carnival almost. It's a beautiful spring day here in New York City. And you've got people from all walks of life every state in the union here, pro and anti Trump. First, the pro Trump people under their flags wearing maga hats have been saying that the charges would never have been brought against the former president if he were not running for president again in the next election. And on the anti Trump side, protesters are saying that they are glad that he is facing the music. Of course Donald Trump has denied all of the allegations against him and of course this one involves hush money paid to an adult film star stormy Daniels, Trump has denied that. We know he will plead not guilty. He is expected here at the courthouse in about an hour from now to fill out paperwork and get fingerprinted. And I can tell you despite the fact that there were warnings that a violence, there was a warning from the mayor that people can come and protest peacefully, but they need to behave themselves so far they have been behaving themselves with the exception of the appearance of Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, very controversial figure, which she started speaking, the anti Trump protesters drowned her out with drums and whistle. Nick? And yeah, I actually saw a video of that online and it looked like a pretty tense atmosphere. I know that she was a little bit mobbed. It looked like by the crowd, even though she had security around her, that crowd really closed in and started banging on the vehicle as she drove away. That seemed like a really tense time there for a second. Yeah, I mean, honestly, it is very rare that you get far right protests in New York City. Which is a typically covering the far left. And so there's a lot of people that hear that don't like her. And that response may have been expected here. They just did not want to give her the megaphone. They didn't want to give her a voice. And I spoke to a guy from Brooklyn who said, you know, we don't want that kind of hate and divisiveness here in New York City. So you can tell from the crowd, mostly the anti Trump protesters under New Yorkers. Every day, New Yorker, I can tell you we've spoken to a lot of people who work down here. They did they can not wait for Wednesday. With this all clears out. Okay, double CBS reporter Marla diamond, who is in New York City live with that crowd and keep it here on WTO. This is such a historic day. It's a really intense day there in New York City. We're going to follow the story every step of the way as former president Donald Trump heads to court this afternoon, his arraignment is scheduled for two 15

"15. I'm Nick ein Ellie. I'm Hillary Howard glad you're with us. It was a discovery born of obsession and it ended with a long sought discovery. I'd like to visit his grave. There's more toll remains are lost to history. I know I can find him. It starts to sound slightly mad. If you could just understand the way it's made me feel. I feel energized. I feel happy. This is the lost king, a movie about one woman singular search for the body of England's Richard the third who was famously killed during a decisive 1485 battle in the war of the roses. So how does the story stand up? Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday joined us earlier with her review. This is a movie about philippa Langley who was the amateur historian and obsessive to be honest about it who persevered to conduct a search in a Leicester car park to find the remains of Richard the third, who is probably best known to most people from the Shakespeare play. And in that play, of course, he was depicted as a villain and the murderer of his nephews and a sort of power mad despot. And the more she gets to know about Richard the third, the more she feels that he's been maligned by history and the more of a connection, a personal connection she feels, she's portrayed in the film by the wonderful British actress Sally Hawkins. She's sort of a petite and elfin creature. And rather meek in some ways, but also absolutely implacable and brave and she'll go up against any kind of authority that tries to stand at her way to get this job done. I was charmed by the movie. It's directed by Steven freer's Steve coogan co wrote it. He plays her husband. And it's sort of a compelling domestic drama, a compelling detective story, a compelling piece of history. And it's just a very pleasant movie. Morgan Freeman's in a new film called a good person, but a lot of folks saying it is not so good and I have to agree. This was a misfire. Morgan Freeman, of course, is one of the all time greats. And Florence Pugh holds her own with him. They have a wonderful chemistry, but this is a very unfocused, erratic, uneven movie by Zach Braff, about addiction, that is probably the most frictionless depiction of recovery and rehab that I've ever seen. So with the exception of those two wonderful lead players, yeah, I'm afraid that's amiss. Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday who joined us on Skype

You know, what we're talking about here. I do. I do. And I'm trying to find where my script went. I had the same problem. Freelance journalist, Danielle brough, who wrote about this in The New York Times, is joining us live now. So there's something so nice about coming back from a day of sightseeing or hiking or whatever. And to see that your room has been cleaned every single day. What's changed? What's going on now? So it all started during COVID. When, I mean, most people weren't traveling. But those who were may have discovered that they are rooms were not being cleaned. Obviously, people were trying to avoid each other. So that was the reason why this was happening. But I noticed that it continued even past when COVID was sort of dwindling. And it now appears to be here to stay, it seems. So the hotels are primarily switched to an opt in method. Where you have to tell them if you want your room cleaned. Unless they're at the high end hotels, ways are still at the normal level. Is there buy in from hotel clientele or they're like, oh right, I like this idea. You know what? A lot of people do. I was actually surprised by how many people were pleased with this. More people than I expected, really loved their privacy when they go to the hotels and they were all about not having housekeeping come in at least on a daily basis. If not, you know, at least once or twice. Some people don't want people in their hotel rooms at all. So they were very pleased with this. Other people said that this is not who I interviewed. Said that this is not what they wanted for their hotel experience. And it's sort of a mixed bag. Because you can still get the daily housekeeping from the hotels. You just have to tell the front desk that you want it. And some front desk. Some hotels are saying to call in daily if you want it daily. Again, the high end hotels typically are still continuing their standard where they come in every day unless you have a do not disturb sign on the door. But mid level and lower tier hotels are making you making you opt in for the most part. Okay, freelance journalist Danielle Brown who wrote about this in The New York Times. Thank you so much

"It's two 15. I'm Nick ein Ellie. And I'm Hillary Howard really glad you're with us. It was a discovery born of obsession and it ended with a long sought discovery. I'd like to visit his grave. There's mortal remains are lost to history. I know I can find him. It starts to sound slightly mad. If you could just understand the way it's made me feel. I feel energized. I feel happy This is the lost king. A movie about a woman singular search for the body of England's Richard the third, who was famously killed during a decisive 1485 battle in the war of the roses. So how does the story stand up? Washington Post film critic and Hornaday joins us live on Skype to tell us all about it. And Richard the third's death in the battle of bosworth field is a well-known piece of British history. Tell us about the movie and the woman determined to find his remains. Yeah, Nick, this is a movie about philippa Langley, who was the amateur historian and obsessive to be honest about it. Who persevered to conduct a search in a Leicester car park to find the remains of Richard the third, who is probably best known to most people from the Shakespeare play, and in that play, of course, he was depicted as a villain. And the murderer of his nephews and a sort of power mad despot. And the more she gets to know about Richard the third, the more she feels that he's been maligned by history and the more of a connection, the personal connection she feels, she's portrayed in the film by the wonderful British actress Sally Hawkins, who just is this kind of she's a very she's sort of a petite and elf and creature and rather meek in some ways, but also absolutely implacable and brave and she'll go up against any kind of authority that tries to stand at her way to get this job done. And it's a charming I was charmed by the movie. It's directed by Steven freer's Steve coogan co wrote it. He plays her husband. And it's sort of a compelling domestic drama, a compelling detective story, a compelling piece of history. And it's just a very pleasant movie. So in the last 45 seconds, Morgan Freeman's in a new film called a good person, but a lot of folks saying it is not so good and Hillary, I have to agree. Okay, thank you so much. Washington Post film critic and

"And I'm Nick ein Ellie, thanks for being with us. Found in the war in Ukraine top U.S. intelligence officials testified before the Senate today and they warned the war is not likely to be over any time soon. National security correspondent JJ green joins us live with details, JJ. We do not foresee the Russian military recovering enough this year to make major territorial gains. But director of national intelligence of real Haines told the Senate today, Russian president Vladimir Putin is all right with that. Putin most likely calculates the time works in his favor and the prolonging the war, including with potential pauses in the fighting, may be his best remaining pathway to eventually securing Russia's strategic interests in Ukraine, even if it takes years. Haines said Ukraine has its challenges as well. Ukraine's prospects for success in a major spring offensive will probably hinge on a number of factors and if present the Ukrainian armed forces remain locked in a struggle to defend against Russian offenses across eastern Ukraine. And then fortunately, what this means is more troop deaths and most likely more civilian deaths as well, reporting live, JJ green, WTO news. So JJ, what is the latest on the fighting there today? Well, Nick Russia has focused on Bach mount with the majority of their forces and weapons today, but they've launched attacks and other locations like diva, here in ahe and zafar Asia, which is where that nuclear power plant is. But what's interesting is that Russia has not been launching those massive simultaneous missile and drone strikes lately, suggesting they may be running low on them. The DNI said today heavy losses to its ground forces and large scale expenditures of precision guided munitions during this conflict have degraded Moscow's ground and air base conventional capabilities, and she said it's increased their reliance on nuclear weapons and this is a very serious development that bears watching very closely. JJ, thanks. You're welcome. WTO national security correspondent JJ

"Bold in a Honda SUV. See your local Honda dealer. 9 40 on this first anniversary of the start of the all out war in Ukraine, we're hearing from a Virginia pastor who is from Ukraine and traveled to the country several times this past year to help with humanitarian efforts. One year into the war in Ukraine, people are still trying to leave the country, soldiers are being mobilized all over the country. Andrew Moreau is a pastor and Lynchburg, Virginia, has a lot of friends and relatives who still live in Ukraine. He says if their feelings about the anniversary, the people of Ukraine are united and they're resilient. And they're not giving up. Still, he says many are on edge, not knowing exactly what Russia is planning. People are trying to do business as usual. And they never know when a missile is going to strike their town their home. Ukrainians are living in that tension. Nick ein Ellie doubled news. One Maryland family is using their tragedy to demand action. 31 year old Josh symes died last year from a fentanyl overdose, but when his family got his drug screen back from the hospital, it showed only cocaine because the hospital didn't test for fentanyl. During the legislative hearing yesterday, Sims partner Melanie Yates said correcting this would be a small but necessary step in fighting the fentanyl epidemic. The testing that occurs in hospitals directly informs Maryland's opioid prevention strategies. If we are not routinely testing for fentanyl, then we are vastly undercounting the number of fatal and non fatal fentanyl related overdoses that are happening in our state. The family is working with state delegate Joe Vogel and other lawmakers to push for legislation that would require healthcare providers to include fentanyl testing in urine screenings. Now, according to the DEA, 67% of drug overdose deaths in the 12 month period ending in January of 2022 involved fentanyl. If you're looking for a small SUV, but want something spacious and stylish we have an option for you. On this week's Friday test drive, WTO car guy Mike Paris says the subcompact Cadillac XT four is actually pretty roomy. Once you hop into the Cadillac XT four, you'll be quite surprised that something this small can have so much space inside both front and rear seat passengers have plenty of space and the seats are pretty comfortable, but with all the people space, the cargo space does suffer a little bit. He says it's sharp looking, but not the best at carving up corners. The XT four starts at around $37,000, but prices can shoot up quickly, the optioned up one microbe came in at around $56,000. You can read more and see pictures at WTO P dot com. And coming up on WTO House Republicans say the situation at the southern border remains in a crisis. We will tell you what they're calling for.
