"Get the experienced Nico hulkenberg that will keep it out of the wall rather than risk, you know, Mick Schumacher having another couple of 7 figure crashes because he doesn't have the experience and he then loses that practice session and then if the experiment turns out to be a hit and we go from 6 sprint races to ten to 12 whatever, then there is zero chance that the little rule that says you have to run rookies three times a season stays in a regulations and then you go to Vegas, which is a massive commercial driver and it is just Formula One. There's no support races or whatever. But when there are support races, they have to run to Abu Dhabi, which means by the time the F two champions crowned the F one silly seasons long over. So I know it's a slight tangential point, but it does sort of serve to undermine perhaps younger drivers less experienced ones when you can look at an older person in their advancing years and if they're still doing handy job at minimize the risk, then the shoe them in and never mind you, F two runner up, getting an epi one driving, doing a Nick devries and winning in or getting 7th place in monzo. I don't know. It's interesting you should mention Nico hulkenberg because the very first Grand Prix in Azerbaijan, if you recall, was anything but it's a thrashing crash fest. Everyone was very conservative. And that is because the drivers at the F one drivers were watching the carnage that ensued in what was then GP two, which had a number of safety car periods followed by ridiculous restarts followed immediately by safety car periods. And I was actually talking trying to speak to Nico hulkenberg in one of the many badly scheduled driver press conferences of the weekend that took place while there was a race on with a monitor in their eye line. So instead of talking to you, they were drifting off and watching what was on the screen and he watched one of those shunts on the restarts and I can't repeat what he said. Because it would cause us probably be blacklisted by Apple, but the word rhymed with duck's wake. And you can see why the F one drivers decided they were going to be conservative that weekend. So, you know, there might be an outbreak of conservatism for the sprint race. Or they might just have what the Italians would call. To the head. Well, I think so long as your good land stroll trying to keep pace with the Fernando Alonso. There's likely to be a massive shunt. Right. To be fair to mark's comment. I think. There's three there are three practice sessions qualified. But anyway, in qualifying last year, I think he was in two sessions and he crashed three times. That's quite a good, quite a good return rate for Azerbaijan. So ya boo and sucks says the Lance stroll. Do we have any members of the land stroll fan club in our listenership? If you would like to make yourself known, then please email Matt dot Q out from to support dot com. I think I met both of them at the Montreal Grand Prix. Stuck in the elevator momentarily. Do you have an Aston Martin cap behind you? Is that Vettel? Was that Alonso? Is that Lance stroll? Oh, yeah, you're looking at what Christian Horner during a Zoom interview rather snotty described as my partisan bookshelf. I'm sure he's really concerned about your support for Valtteri Bottas. So it's actually both. So Sebastian Vettel and Lance stroll have, I'm not sure who's actually what. I should probably keep this out of the sunlight because the sharpie mark is fading, but it won't perform as well on eBay then. As is well known, I'm banned from eBay. I tried to sell some of my own books. I canceled the sale and threw me off and told me I was a security risk. Did you have to poke them inside? Well, the local arcs fan is now saying, well, another one of these. What? I'll be keeping the Aston Martin baseball cap because it actually covers up a rather annoying blue stain on that shelf caused by a expired ink cartridge that I'd put in one of those macmillan charity envelopes. The residue leaking through the bottom. So there's a cyan splodge on that shelf. So your summary is that the benefit of having a signed acid Martin cap is that it comes up the stains on you. That's terrible. That's terrible. Oh, dear. I think it's as we come up to the hour mark in this podcast. It's time for us to leave it there with our listeners, visualizing peculiarly colored stains on market share. You really need to wrap this one up colors. Yeah. Well, thank you everyone for listening

"And what's the deal with drivers like Alonso being released? Is he? And will we see him in different colored overalls? We will probably not green over it. He's probably going to be wiring sort of stick style all white overalls because yeah, he won't officially be an Aston Martin driver until January 1st. I believe. But yeah, there's agreements in place, so Alonso will be testing the Aston Martin in Abu Dhabi at the end of the season. Pierre gasly will be driving the Alpine ahead of his move there next year. Nick devries he'll be in the AlphaTauri car as well. And it'll be a good chance for basically all of the teams if they can get in an incoming driver early than they will do that Oscar piastre. We know that's been agreed as well. That was revealed by Adam Cooper for auto sport earlier this week. So I think everyone's happy on that front and it's kind of on these things where it's like, you know that there's not a huge amount in terms of what they can gain because obviously testing is precious to F one, but it's still this year's car and it is more about, okay, how do you learn about getting used to the team and trying out the car and saying, well, I don't like the button on the steering wheel here or I want my seat in a slightly different sort of level or something I don't know. But yeah, just a good chance for them to get a bit of time to get used to the new surroundings and stuff. But yeah, basically everyone who is moving teams for next year, you'll see them with their new teams in the Abu Dhabi test. We're still waiting obviously to find out who's going to get that second half seat. We should find out by the time that we get to Abu Dhabi next week, I think. And yeah, they said they want that sewn up before the race in Abu Dhabi so they can get whoever is in the car. If it's make Schumacher or Nico hulkenberg in the car for the test. So ocon was 8th, Bottas was 9th. I've mentioned stroll and Vettel ten 11, Joe in 12th, followed by home by Mick Schumacher. The fast starting Mick Schumacher this weekend F Pierre gasly staying out of trouble just about actually well, no, not staying at a travel but importantly, no penalty points. So we'll see him racing again. Alex Alban 15th, Latifi 16th, Yuki tsunoda, classified 17th, some weirdness around the sporting regulations lapped cars may now overtake. You key. But you're not allowed to pass under the safety car, but actually they got it right. I don't think I've read it several times now. Our friend and colleague Chris medley has put a full explanation online for why he shouldn't have been allowed because he passed in the pit lane. He passed the safety car, the computers were right, he wasn't allowed to repast. Formula One doing what it does best, which would be really confusing at times. Alex, your thoughts on any other outstanding drives or drivers of mention before we finish up the podcast today. We just get on that sonoda thing. Yeah, very, very bizarre instant in just that because the cars are actually allowed to go at full speed to the pit lane entry and the exit. He was ahead at the timing line, so that's where all these commutation has come through sort of thing that the FIA probably needs to develop a system to make sure it can't happen again. But actually, according to mature, but also it played a part in why they didn't ask Carlos Sainz or, as you say, he said he was up for doing it. Why they didn't stop the positions around because actually Ferrari thought they were under investigation for a sort of safety car infringement regarding sonoda. And that sort of was all factored in and they were just like, ah, it's just too risky. Let's not do it. But yeah, very, very bizarre, also, not great look from the FIA to not let all the lapped cars pass once again after someone had that been in 2021, but yeah, I think just a word on Kevin Magnussen, I think and also the whole sprint race third one of the season. It was the best one by far. I know that because I didn't watch it live, I was in a charming pub in Hackney wick and I got text messages from both artists what chief editor Kevin Turner and Matt Q it's about the split race, which tipped me off that it must have been a good one so much so that I watched it when I got home and was quite vociferous in my judgments on the various instance because I can't actually happen. Anyway, yeah, the best so far. Again, still an open is it really good for F one? I think various circumstances conspired here to produce the interesting things that happened. You can't necessarily say it was all because of the sprint race that the great things happened at this race, but at the same time you can't also deny that it being a factor made those things happen. But yeah, just maybe some get in position. Brilliant result for him, brilliant result for Hass. A very likeable team for Steiner, what a character for Formula One, what a story for Kevin Magnussen jumping in. In a place of Nikita Mazepin, doing accidentally this season has gone missing a few times, I think is fair to say. But he certainly certainly made his mark with that historic pole position. So well done to him and I just a real shame that ultimately, even though the sprint race sort of went as you'd expect to get fell back because the much faster guys came by and just really unfortunate and not at all his fault for being taken out of the main event. Yeah, and you are the editor of auto sport dot com, good reasons to stay tuned to the homepage over the next couple of days because stuff always comes out. People say things, decisions get made, like Alfa Romeo, just been fined a €1000 for having a team member. Very close to, I think it was the Haas pit. I did watch that replay. It was picked up on the F one TV. I watch it on the app, most of the time. And I thought, that's a weird position for a team member to be sent. Almost applauding. It was weird. I was like, what are you doing? I wish he was. He was like a slow clap that he was doing as the house guy came in. I'm like, what are you doing? Nowhere near your Alfa Romeo pit box, they've been fined a €1000 for a team member not being where they should be. Stay tuned. That's the right thing to say. Keep your eyeballs on auto sport. Dot

"Nor Nick devries were required as part of their other motor sport commitments over the years. So we have a team coming in and with drivers around who not necessarily if you cut them would bleed McLaren. That issue we'll come back to later. But now let's talk about DS to cheetah. And when I say that, let's split that DS is the automobile name owned by Stellantis. If you want to call it the posh bit of Citroen, that would be okay as well. DS to cheetah to cheater being the team, double world champions, double team champions, three drivers titles to their names. But all wasn't rosy behind the scenes in terms of the structure and the money to get them on the grid. So if we go a little bit back to the start of the team, in the first two years of the formula E, the team was team a gory. It was almost a continuation of the super gooey Formula One team. But then ahead of the formula is third season. It was bought out by seka, who is a massive Chinese media company. And they rebranded the team to cheater. Mark Preston stayed in charge on our Boeing came on board. With customer Renault power trains, it was incredibly successful. DS came in at the start of season 5 as it's official supplier and it became a works team. DS divorcing with what was then known as virgin racing, which is now envisioned. They wanted something a little bit more flexible, something that they could have a little bit more autonomy over, but without running their own race team, let's say. And so the idea was move the team to the DS facilities in France in Versailles. It went very, very well, and vern won a title and to cost one the season 6 title. The shine started to come off because second wasn't willing to put as much money in as it had done at the start. It sort of like taken on this project. It had started building the team up into this title winning outfit. And I think it probably expected investors to come on board and want to be part of that title winning team, and they weren't really materializing. Again, yeah, the company behind it weren't willing to put money in. But it got to the point where the team's future was looking really, really ropey because there wasn't that money coming in. To a degree, DS had to intervene because it didn't want to be out of the competition because it had invested so heavily in its in its powertrain project and it still wanted to be involved in formula E ultimately it didn't want to own its own team. It didn't need the expense associated with that. But nonetheless, it was having to put all of these bills and pay driver salaries if that's if that's correct, which I believe it is. DS was having to front all of this money and it's not a situation that it wanted to be in. Otherwise it would have had if it did. It would have bought the team and run it itself, but that's not quite the way that it wants to go racing in formula E all right, well, hang on there. We'll take a quick break. When we come back, we'll talk about why it's been such a problem for Tata in the way that they ended up working with DS that has kind of left them out in the cold, actually. And why? The move for the world champion to go to the back of the grid team might not be such a bad thing after all. That's coming up stick around. All right, welcome back to the podcast. So the team almost operates with two quite distinct half then. So you have DS in terms of the manufacturer support and background working and operating with a certain culture and a certain way of developing, and then when you turn up at a race weekend, you then obviously have some of those members of DS will obviously have to be there to run the team, but then you have members of the Tata team actually getting on and running it on a race weekend. So it is a little bit like other forms of motor sport, but it seems perhaps slightly more separation of church and state than other forms. Is that correct? Are going to be the opposite to what the way that Nissan has gone. It is operated in that model of you have the manufacturer and you have E dams running the team and Nissan has gone well. We might as well just buy the team and run it ourselves. So they run both sides of it now, but I don't think that's the way that DS have wanted to do it. I'm not a 100% sure why I guess it's that added costs involved. But unfortunately, it was put in the position where it had to over the last couple of years. So Thomas, who was part of DS, he then came in to run the team as a team principal. James Ross, who was tied with Stellantis, and has now gone on to become Maserati's F one team principal. He was brought in this sporting director. So you could see this sort of like blurring of lines and I don't think it was a blurring that DS wanted to happen. Hence, the two parties have since split. And then the third act, if you like, or the third part of the piece of a jigsaw, is the alliance with dragon and Penske. And DS the manufacturer. Now, apart from a strong first two seasons. The team dragon is not a team that if you are the world champion, stoffel van Doorn, you're coming off the back of huge success, a slightly unfortunate end to a very prompt graduation into Formula One and then rebuilding in a career in a reputation and a champion in formula E now obviously still turning up at F one weekends and still available to jump in a car if needed. But at a real high point in his career, the last thing you think that would happen would he would then join the team, the dragon team, that scored two points in all of the season we've just gone. And yes, I did check my notes before coming on. Two points. In formula E why on earth? Are we talking about the literal back of the grid team? Forming a partnership with a big name like DS and then being able to go out and hire some great drivers and also great team members. So can you explain how that dynamic works with dragon and Penske? Even though dragon has massively underperformed, let's say, over the last few years, it's a team that has a sensible amount of backing and Jay Penske is sort of run it pretty much bankrolled the whole operation. You see some of his Penske media corporation brands on the car like Rolling Stone and those kinds of publications on the car. I think that's probably the main draw is the fact that the dragon Penske autosport is it likes to be known now. Can foot this bill and it can afford to run the team and it's not in the cheetah situation where DS is having to put money into running anything outside of its powertrain project, let's say. And although DS is able to put its own people into the team because it's got this proven pedigree of producing such strong powertrains and being one of the best teams in the last four years. The fact that van dorn and vern will be able to come into a team and have something that should deliver tangible success, which arguably has been dragon's weak link over the last few years because it's decided to go it alone with regards to powertrain production. And they've just not been very, very good. They've not been as efficiently designed as some of the others. You'll see drivers throughout the race. You'll see that the drag and drivers struggling in comparison for energy when those figures drop in the middle of a race. And the idea was for dragons for them to partner with Bosch for gen three and Bosch was going to produce the motors for them. And that fell through. So dragon needed a powertrain supplier because it wasn't going to develop its own for gen three, and DS needed a team. And it on free outset it just does seem like a kind of management marriage of convenience, but I think DS has the opportunity to kind of backseat drive it a little bit and put their own people in, but without necessarily having to foot the bill of running its own team. And of course, if we want to carry that on in terms of the marriage of convenience, but first DS and to cheetah have to get divorced and a bit like arguing who gets what in the DVD collection showing my age there in the major streaming. But unfortunately, it looks like to cheetah are the ones having to move out of the house because they were based at that DS and said, oh no, you move in with us. It's fine. We'll get along forever. Well, actually, to cheater than to have a place of their own, they were in DS, as you said, in their facility in their environment.

"Is the auto sport podcast. Well, it's not unheard of in motor sport, but it's certainly not common. For a newly crowned world champion driver to up sticks and move to the back of the grid. But that's exactly what's happening in formula E next year. Stoffel van dorn will move to the dragon Penske squad as driver's champion and he'll be joining a team with two points to their name in the course of last season. Well, today we'll ask, how will the formula E grid look different next year? Why won't one of the most successful teams? Possibly even be on the grid. And can the new gen three cars provide the entertainment we need to forget all about the manufacturers that have recently left the sport. Let's get up to speed with autosports, Jake box all leg, JBL, welcome back to the podcast. Thank you for having me. It's been a really busy few weeks, a formula E's kind of kicked off now, even though we're in that sort of mid season lull. And I was talking to somebody from formula E and they were like, you know, why would we put out all of our information now because we're in such a lull, but it seems that silly seasons kind of kicked off of it. There's so much to get through on the podcast today and to make sure the listeners know, you know, what's coming up and why this could be a great reboot for formula E but so many unanswered questions. Let's go back to a point in time, not the beginning of formula E but let's go back to December 2020. And the sport had done the hard yards of attracting, manufacturer names, Audi, BMW, Mercedes. But then it all started to unravel. What happened with that series of announcements a couple of years ago now? I think part of it was slightly down to financial pressures put on by the pandemic. I think part of it was automated manufacturers, maybe considering formula E not worthy of the investment at the time, let's say. And so it got to the point where BMW released a press release and saying we've pretty much learned everything that we can learn from our formula E program. And so we'll bring it to an end at the end of the 2020 21 seasons. That is season 7 in formula E speak. Audi went the same way, both of those manufacturers were tied up with other teams as well. So BMW was supply works powertrans to Andretti, Audi was supplying works powertrains too well. Apps was running the works team and envision was running a customer supply. You know, they didn't leave Andretti and envision high and dry, but it was without a factory support. Mercedes also announced after it's 2021 title triumph that it would also be leaving formula E at the end of this season, just gone, so Mercedes is now gone, that's out of the picture. It's one of the teams championship and Saul van Doorn won the driver's championship but Mercedes has now gone as it was a bit of a difficult time, I think, for formula E is a series. It had just built up all of this momentum. It was getting these manufacturers in and producing their own powertrains. And then it kind of stalled out a little bit. So it's been a bit of a difficult time for everyone there to try and build that momentum back. We're getting to a point where it is. Well, after the shock of those manufacturers leaving, slowly but surely, we got new entrants joining up who has stepped up to replace them. Obviously, Mercedes being the one that's gone and McLaren has now come into purchase the team is going concern pretty much everything in terms of all of the staff and those leading the team of the same, pretty much a continuation of the same team with all of the people that have won two championships. I mean, you wouldn't really want to change that. But not keeping Mercedes. It's a bit like buying a local Tesco store. They've kept the store manager, but they're not saying every little helps. They're getting rid of all of the Mercedes stuff. They're going to bring in the smart price. I don't know where I'm going with this, but McLaren are not using Mercedes, even though they're keeping all the same people. How does that work? It's kind of out of necessity because Mercedes isn't producing a gen three powertrain. McLaren has to go for somebody that does, and when it came to talking to the supplies that are, I think, Nissan was the one that perhaps aligned itself with what McLaren needed from it. It's not had a particularly good couple of years in it, Sam, but such a massive manufacturer, they're making these massive strides to improve their electric vehicle range. It's ultimately got the people on board to the can make a success of it and it took a misstep through the second half of the gen two era, but at the start of it, it was so, so strong. So it's a big automotive concern to have on your side for sure. And who else has joined to make up the numbers? No, more than that. That sounds that sounds just disparaging. But who else has joined the grid? So we've got Maserati in as well. Ending a hiatus of over 60 years running a work's motor sport team in single seater racing at least anyway, obviously the MC 12 was a hugely successful sports car. Yeah, I think for the first time since 1960, it centering a single seater world championship and it's done that by tying up with the team formerly known as venturi or voluntary if you want to get monegasque about this. It's badging and it's putting its own people into a very, very successful team, a team that was second level even the team's championship last year. It seemed that edoardo mortara has excelled for in the last couple of years, so it's got a fantastic team on its side. And there's the return of the app team as well after leaving with Audi at the end of 2021. It now comes back as a team of its own and it's taken up the mahindra powertrains, so new teams returning teams taking over teams, but it's good to see these competitors come overcome back or come in to the championship because they've got such pedigree among them. Well, great for McLaren as well entering in Mercedes place. With a couple of drivers who they've not had the best of times within the past, dispensing with their services in the past in their Formula One program. So McLaren deciding neither van dorn nor Nick devries were required as part of their other motor sport commitments over the years. So we have a team coming in and with drivers around who not necessarily

"And also we'll talk about the formula two champion. And what they do next. Stick around those stories are on the way. Okay, welcome back to the podcast now, Megan. Let's talk a little bit about the Monza madness. The chaos of that weekend, because as you've told us already, drugovich was crowned champion whilst he was out of the car, watching the race unfold his nearest competitor, couldn't get the points. He needed. But that was the same for F three that you told us about a couple of weekends ago, but that was because the F three race was stopped on the Sunday, bearing in mind F two was decided on Saturday. And they decided not to restart F three because they had an F two race to get to, but the F two race, there was nothing up for grabs in terms of the championship. I love the drama, but there was a lot of it. And it was just funny, you know, Felipe had basically tied up the title. If he had finished, if he'd finished, if Tao had finished, I think, 5th or above, then it would have been he could have been in contention still. But given that he started 14th, it was always unlikely. So it was kind of a given that the sprint race was going to decide the title. But then Felipe gets knocked out on the first lap and you sat there and everyone in the media center is like, what is happening? Felipe sat there in the pit lane, and he wins the title, and he said, you know, it was a bit odd, but it was quite nice. So he got to celebrate with his team from the pit lane, and then as you mentioned on the Sunday, the F three title was also decided in quite a odd way. The series CEO Bruno Michel did say that he would rather have seen the F two feature race on the Sunday. You know, sure and you've got F three first thing in the morning, normally it's some sort of awful time, like 8 30. And then F two is directly after that. And then there's Porsche Super Cup and then they have to get everything ready for F one. So there's not much time for maneuver in such a busy schedule. And I think that is why they just canned the end of the F three race. When really they could have done the barrier repairs, half the length of the F two race given that the title was already decided. Let the F three race be decided on track rather than from the pit lane like the F two one was. So it was a bit of an odd ending to an odd championship in both series. Well, then tell us then. What happens next when you win formula two? You've mentioned all of the incredible names that we know very well from Formula One and GP two before it as well. Some of the legends of Formula One have come up that way, not to say other series aren't great, but this is for most the route into Formula One. And then what happens next according to the rules, once that Felipe drugovich has won formula two, I mean he wouldn't want to go back to it for a fourth year, but he can't, right? Bruno Michelle said that he thinks that it's it needs to be an up and out model because he wouldn't want them to become professional championships, because if you do that, you're going to have people staying in the same championship, having a big advantage winning it repeatedly. And that would be bad for the young drivers. And that's something that he feels is really important to the series. But Felipe said, in his opinion, either your champion and you can not stay anymore and you have to be promoted to F one or you can stay. And that he thinks what needs to change is whoever wins the championship needs to get a go in F one. And it's not often been the case that the champion hasn't got an F one seat, but if you look at if you look back in the past 2019, Nick devries one F two didn't get enough one seat. Oscar piastre. The whole Oscar piastre thing is a different kettle of fish, but Oscar pierce street, one F two last year and did not get immediately promoted to F one. He spent a year as our penis test and reserve driver, and now we'll be going to F one with McLaren. A lot of differing opinions over what should happen to the F two champion, given that they're not allowed to return, you know, do they move somewhere else if there's not enough one seat? Do they try formula E do they try IndyCar? But really most of these guys are in F two and they want to get to F one. So a lot of them had to spend a year not racing essentially, which as strokes said in his champions press conference is not ideal for a driver, having to spend a year not racing. But Felipe is going to be Aston Martin's test and reserve driver for 2023. He is also the first member of their new kind of driver development program. He'll be doing lots of testing, lots of sim work. He's doing his first Formula One FP one session at Abu Dhabi. So you'll have lots to keep him occupied. What a great story of the year and I'm sure he will be repeated again next year Fast & Furious action. Megan, thank you so much for joining us on the auto sport

"Now, we've gone through the order obviously last week. It hasn't changed. There's been no racing since. Well, last week, obviously, because nothing's happened. Of course, the race that was meant to happen has been canceled and so it should have been. The next race is therefore easily. Singapore, the last race of Italy, and I'm willing to say at this point, I don't know about your team Robert, if you've got it up at the moment, but maybe this is the opportunity to make a change for the run home. The run home for this season. Because my team has been going very poorly. I feel like we're both very close to the bottom of the order. And I'm just wondering if I could use a shake up here. A rate a cabinet reshuffle. Yes. I think it's time. You know what? I'm changing the name of my team. Surely, I'm very surprised looking at if I know the top ten in the outright season and beyond is largely set in starring, but I'm very surprised that no one is a come up with a witty cotton Herta. And this is where I step in. I had a good one last week in my head on a forgotten, so I regret it. So now, so while you do your cabinet reshuffle, I will do my own cabinet reshuffle and also change the name of my party. So united Colton herder, Australia party. Very good. And very enjoyable. You know, I love that. I would have a 100% go for that. That's a good one. Yeah, something that's something in the neighborhood. I would love to change my tape because at the moment it comprises Ferrari the team. Charles Leclerc, okay, Fernando Alonso, Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen peer gasly. Not a terrible team to be fair, but could certainly be better. And I'd love to change it, or at least investigate my options. But I can not figure out on this website how to do it. I feel every time I click something and it's not giving me the option to change the team that I'm getting. I'm aging you the frustration in my remote microphone where I keep touching it. I keep writing my new name and it keeps going, going back. I don't want liquor I understand for tender. Here we go, okay, I've got some, I've got some modifications. So I think I'm going to drop who am I going to drop? Ended up Kevin Magnussen. No, I'm going to drop Valtteri Bottas. Oh no, I can't even figure out how to do that. I've clicked manage. Come on. I want to get rid of you. Get out of here. Go Valtteri. It's really don't know what I'm doing here. This is excruciating. Why is it so difficult? Just give me the button. Just give me the change button. Yes, it's very difficult. There we go. Not happy with my name, but I will, I may workshop it, continuously. I guarantee someone will have a better hurrah themed theme name. I'm gonna, so are you doing a re shuffle now? I'm trying my best. Rob, I'm trying my best. Manage manage manage. And how do I delete them? I don't know. I don't know. This is like, this is honestly like watching two people on Zoom trying to share a document on the screen, because I tell you, I hang on, is a gameplay now. I can find it FAQ, the game rules the prize as dynamic pricing, subs bank. But I can't life of me. Oh, hang on, I figured it out. I figured it out. I figured it out. What do you do? You got to manage, and then it brings you off a big screen. And then you have to go to the top. And there's a little drop down box with the race at the moment it says down in Grand Prix you change it to Singapore. That's right. Here we go. Now we're talking. Now we're talking. Okay. Who am I going to get rid of here? Oh, my drivers have decreased in value. This is terrible. So I'm going to add so my constructor. I'm going to go with LP. Oh, I have George Russell. So if only taking a quarter of my budget and then in terms of my driver, so I'm going to add this is risky. This is very risky. It's chuck Nick the raise in there for some value. Oh yes? Because that doesn't even have a photo next to his name. Lando Norris is still good value. It's 17.4 million. That's very good value. Gonna stick him in there. Norris, you're in my cabinet last song. Get out. I'm not gonna put him in there. Esteban icon. Very good. Right on budget. So, if you want to take baby don't hurt at my house. George Russell, Nick devries, Esteban ocon, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Pérez LP. The new ministry for rob James, all my turbo driver. Oh, okay. Sergio Perry's good value. That is good. Okay, here we go. All right, so I think, okay, let me know what you think about this team check. Watch me rock it up the top 500. So I've still got charla Claire, you may? Oh, very good. Should I have shallow clear? Fernando Alonso, even though he's gone down in value, I think he's still good. Couldn't get rid of Valtteri Bottas. He's still in there. Couldn't get rid of Pierre gasly in fact. He's still in there. This is mostly the same game, but I got max in there. Max Verstappen's in there now. Yes. An L pain is my team. So pretty good. That's pretty good. Is it? I can I don't know. I don't feel satisfied for having changed my team that much, but I'm glad I'm glad max is in there. I am glad about that. Oh, well, yeah, that is very good. That is very good. So team one in 11th and the skid area strikes back 2023 at the spruce moose. Look

"He doesn't have the same high per se Oscar pierce who does in terms of so a year or two or three Williams isn't the worst thing in the world for him. So I don't think he's going to be sing out on much. So at least he's in the system and then you know he can grow and develop and he could be like the Daniel Ricciardo sort of effect where he was good in the junior formulae but F one. It was the category that clicked for him really at least when he was a Red Bull drive. So it could be, yeah, it could be the right place for our time for old Jack, so that would be someone who really, you know, in terms of it's always nice to have two Aussies on the grid. Would be nice to have three. Let's not get gravy, though, because yeah, that could be, that could be 2024. Well, let's just start with two for now. I mean, we're at the moment, we really only got one. It's one in one out. It's like a clock. Like a really awful club. So we don't know what's going to happen. But it would be interesting for Jack because Williams is still keen on Logan sergeant. If you can't race next year, they want him to race the following year, assuming he has a good F two season, maybe even wins the thing. Yeah. So then that would maybe mean Jack's there on a one year deal. The question mark then is over who Alpine actually gets, it's a weakened situation. I don't know if you sort of feel the same way, but on the one hand it feels like they actually isn't that much talent out there to feel safe. You got a couple of two guys. Yeah. You've got your other random character like Nick to raise a sort of inserted himself here and that's pretty good. But then like we're still talking about Nico hulkenberg, who don't get me wrong, had a great career, but had a great career. It's happened. It's finished, but we're still talking about drivers like that. Even Antonio giovinazzi, who I liked and think he actually deserved a bit of a longer opportunity, but you know, it's not like he was making such a great case that he absolutely should be back on the Formula One grid either. So on the one hand, you sort of got a weak field, but on the other hand, if you did have someone like Jack do and rock up at Williams, there's every chance you might only get one year and then not find another seat because there are enough like average drivers making a good enough case for themselves that there aren't enough seats. True, but then if Jack uses that opportunity to go, well, this is how good I'm bloody am. You'd be mad not to keep me or to or to poach me. So he's got to be in the system. It's just like, it's like an IFL coach. I think James heard there's more. I think he's even on the Alpine wish list of potential candidates to fill that state. And if you're talking about there's not enough depth in the junior formula, which I disagree with. I'm actually very surprised that lame Lawson is not in the mix. For AlphaTauri, graduation, for example. So that surprises me a little bit. But yeah, I think there's enough talent on the grid to be filled by your F two types. And look, I'm not going to discredit IndyCar, right? I think that you could easily get all other drivers of higher stock on board. Yeah, I just found a bizarre is more eligible for super license points that Colton heard but he's not even in anyone's right up. And I think he's progression into IndyCar has been far more impressive, but nevertheless, yeah. It's an interesting, interesting time. It is interesting, isn't it? And it does make you wonder the Nick devries thing. Now he's another driver we should talk about here because he's on everyone's list all of a sudden he's on Williams lists. He's on Alpine's list. He's now apparently the favorite to go to alpha tauri replaced Pierre gasly. But he's kind of broken the business model a little bit because he's not come immediately up through F two. Obviously he's an F two champion a couple of years ago, but he's gone by formula E and he's a driver that realistically was written off. Before this year there was no chance he's getting to Formula One he had a shot at Williams and at Alfa Romeo for this season and Williams went for Alex Albon and Alfa Romeo and for Joe grand you in both of them worked out obviously. So that's no knock on that decision making. But all of a sudden is injected himself into the conversation for good reason because he had a great race in Italy. A great race on debut sudden race on debut. But it does make you wonder, every time we hear someone say, oh, like the F two greeted schnitzel very impressive, it's very weak greed, all these kinds of things. How seriously can we take it? Because as you sort of said earlier, sometimes drivers do click in formula and you can't take a punt on a driver happening to get all of a sudden much better and if one. But it does make you wonder whether actually we're bypassing too many drivers because sort of the vibe of the greed in F two. He's not so good. Reading, yeah, reading too many articles. I don't say we don't respect you, but in your posture, but I don't. Yeah, just yeah, you can't be riding off drivers in the press. And yeah, it's very strange that people get sucked into this vortex of if they've got good headlines around them, therefore they're going to be stand at driver because it's not always been the case. Not always been the case, but yeah, I think many seasons before it was written off too many drivers. Drivers of hung around for too long as well. So there's talent if you look hard enough and just ignore the hype and look at the raw facts and the raw data. This is why maybe this is why I'm anti anti hero because I just don't, if I look at the data, if I don't believe the headlines, if I don't say Lee diffie screaming about how good Colton herder is and every IndyCar driver just having Carlton's back. Very admirable. But if I'm looking at the data, I don't see it. I just don't bloody say it and I'm not going to get sucked in for it either. I'm not going for the popular route. Now is the time for the king to take his rightful place thrown in the Hall of Fame. Sit on his king of Thrones. I'm KB. That's my time. Books of neutrals. This break is brought to you by liquor land. "It's been a big week for the driver market and we've already talked a little bit about Nick de vries, but this is he's like the main player. He's actually the biggest player now after you're my Colton Colton and possibly Pierre gasly. It's all still up in the air, but suddenly Nick did raise his number one for Williams, like they won him because obviously he scored points for them. He's proven he can do what he's doing. That's bad news for Nicolas Latifi. But now he's also on Alpine's radar and all of a sudden from no contract he could be going to two. Yes, Alpine is basically the clarin, because why not they may as well have a cracking of just anyone who anyone who likes them. I wonder who will fill the position first. Alpine, their second driver alongside S one O corn, all the football club with the same year coach. Which one will be first, mailbox and neutrals dot com. That is that is one hell of a running race in contingent because I tell you what it's every week and I know it's kind of been done to death this whole PS3 thing. We've kind of moved on a little bit. On the way for the papaya team and we're all dealing with that, but when they keep sort of bringing up the loyalty factor in this then the other very interesting because there's many examples in history of time is not recording drivers the same level of loyalty or respect that they would sort of expect back but anyway. Lawrence Rossi wasn't crossed those deals back in the day, so I don't regret him for that. But what's my point? I don't know. 9906 103. There is another name on the radar now as well though and his name is Jack doolin, the F two driver, Australian. Of course, you know I'm sad of Mick tort doing very well. That's how he's doing. He's a winner in F two now. He's come along very strong actually this season. Second half of the season in particular, he's doing very well. And suddenly, because Alpine might not give peer gasly because alpha towering might not get Colton herder. He's in the frame. Now there is a test this week in Budapest, the hungaroring everyone loves the hungaroring, which did so. Jack do a Nick devries and Colton Herta are all going to be testing as far as I understand it. The Alpine car. Now Colton had is not in the frame for L pain, but apparently they're doing it to assist AlphaTauri in their case to make sure he can race for them so that they can get gasly, so it's a weird, this weird like three way three pointed love triangle situation. But they are statistically and also Jack duan is still in the frame promotion either at L pain or maybe because they don't want to promote him just yet, lone him to Williams, but that'd be weird because then what about Logan sergeant? So it's a real mess. Yeah, thanks a lot Al pain for causing these sort of absolute mess of a driver market, but it's absolutely scintillating. I love it to be because it's very fascinating because it's good for the old roster drama stuff. Who was it that said that then Ricardo should take a sabbatical in 2023. Well, that's right. It was me. Awesome. Oh, mate. I'm not making this up. I said this. I said this. I have to go back and check the time. I'm sure the box of neutrals are too Discord. We'll prove me right. And I reckon that'll be one of my old time greats. I think it might be. Because if all the states are kind of fall and they're a bit apart from L pain, like I really am really strong on Daniel Ricciardo should just be. I'm very big on it, for obvious reasons. As much as Pierre gasly would, I guess, go there and beg would fit, but yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I feel like if Daniel's like, well, do I go back with my Talbot between my legs? Is that how pain? Do I spend a year off play basketball in LA with the snowboarder friend of his I forget his name? And then maybe replace Lewis Hamilton in 2024. At Mercedes, then that is exactly the thing to do. It's exactly the right move to make because you have a year off, reach out to the batteries have a spell, but be guarantee the safe. At the end of it all, which is, which is a win win situation. So I think this is a likely scenario now. It's everyone's everyone would have thought the Alpine thing would have been worked out by now. But clearly, it would have happened a lot quicker, I think. If the Ricardo appetite was there. So yeah, very, very curious situation. On that front and then yeah, just where does it place everybody? So it'll be an interesting driver market because I think there'll be some names that you don't expect to be on there. And if Carlton heard her is on there. I'll tell you what. There'll be a full inquest. Oh, yes. After the end of inquest, obviously. That's priority one. But yes, you're right. It is an interesting one as well. It feels like a weird driver market too because there are clearly enough drivers for seats, and there's enough vague interest, but no one wants to commute. And Williams has made its decision now because it's been wondering for the last month or two whether to replace Latifi or not in for a while. I'm pretty sure they intended to keep him, because they wanted to give Logan cited another year and there's no point starting another driver, but they clearly changed their mind in the last one. Day or two. But now that he's got this offer from L paid, obviously he'd prefer to go to Alpine because of more competitive car. Just no one wants to settle down anywhere and even harsh. Gunter Steiner has talked about the fact that Mick Schumacher is still in the frame, but recently the host caused just been no good and he hasn't been able to show what he can do and it seems like he's still going to be replaced. He might be replaced by Nico hulkenberg, remember him and even Alpine sinking about Nico hulkenberg. This should be enough drivers without having to go back to hulkenberg, although he was good enough. But it's just very wacky. That's very funny that I'll put there, it goes one way for Alpine. Yes, we sat unicorn, but you're welcome to come back. Yeah. Hulkenberg is an interesting one because I'm kind of love Nicole. I feel like he's been done. If we're in an era where we want to get unique div raise where you want to get Colton herders of the world. Then we really going back into the Nico hulkenberg well. Exactly. Exactly. I don't know. I think we could do better about anyway. I quite like Nico. It's like a warm pair of slippers. Well worn. Yeah, but I would prefer a fresher face. In that state, more further rejuvenation of. The other sport. Yes, I prefer a new pair of snippets in other words. Finally, this week, after months and months, years, decades of teasing, Porsche has finally said they won't be joining Formula One with Red Bull at least. Yes. Finally, with Red Bull, they might still be joining Formula One, except the only thing is they don't know how they'll possibly be able to do it because there's no obvious way for them to do it, but isn't Red Bull because let's not forget Porsche's not joining like I used to build its own engines or start its own tape while adding on starting its own team. It's just buying Salva or will. It was essentially just going to buy 50% of everything Red Bull's already done. And then just keep doing it, which would have been successful, I guess, except for the fact that they wanted too much, say, and Red Bull said, I don't want to give you any say, well, particularly Christian Horner, I think. Apparently apparently, did you manage it was big on the deal, but I couldn't get it over the line with the rest of the team. But it means now, well, you know, there's no other team doing the same thing that Red Bull's doing, building its own engine and also being very successful.

"And 18th, which was a place ahead of Lewis Hamilton. In 19th and indeed, Lewis Hamilton came in 5th behind Carlos Sainz. So two brilliant recovery drives no watching Game of Thrones on the iPad for Lewis today, which is what he said before the race. If he was going to be stuck in a boring DRS train, Sergio Pérez had a moment early on. His brakes were on fire. I thought that could be a race ending moment actually, but got that under control coming home. 6th in the end. Again, you could say that was a good recovery drive for him. You could say that or not. Terrible, terrible bog down start, Paul Lando. We think his own fault. I've not seen any kind of mechanical reasons why coming home in the end. A little bit heartbreaking for Daniel Ricciardo as a DNF on lap 45. Pierre gasly kind of just falling away a little bit starting 5th finishing 8th we've mentioned Nick devries joke when you good points for him actually good race. You could say, well, you know, couldn't overtake a guy who had about 24 hours notice to get in the car. So is that good or not? Interesting for the alpines, of course, because Fernando Alonso was a DNF and ocon came home 11th. I think that's only the second time this year that Alpine has failed to score points in the big midfield battle with McLaren money to check that. Final rundown of where we are in terms of the drivers, championship Max Verstappen, 335 points leclerc two one 9 Sergio Pérez two ten and George Russell ahead now of Carlos Sainz in the drivers championship two O three plays one 8 7, which is just crazy to think about and in the constructors championship Red Bull. On 5, four, 5 ahead of Ferrari's four O 6, a Mercedes, closing the gap. The gap widened because they got a few points, didn't they? But they're on three 7 three 7 one. So look, there are other storylines there, but I think that we've covered off the big stuff today. Am I missing anything guys? You feel strongly about talking about anyone that we haven't shown the spotlight on yet. Okay to move on, good, because I mean, we could spend all night talking about each individual driver, but I think we're good. I think we're good. A little break now, little mini break. If they're ever a break in Formula One, a small break, and as Alex mentioned, he'll be on the plane to Singapore stunning race that we're looking forward to next is the end of the European season comes to an end. I've talked too much at the end of this podcast fully aware of that. Thank you for joining us. Sorry. I had to get through stuff. Thank you very much for listening to the auto sport podcast that I really, really appreciate it. "But they have options, which is actually good for them for the first time in a long time. What if Nicholas Latifi, because we want to, I would like him to stay in Formula One. And I like him. It's like a man. What if he became a team principal? Where? Did I say somewhere? And now pain? Maybe alpha and I like for investors going to say, but they're going to change ownership maybe Audi wants Canadian team owner. Maybe. Maybe he could feel he could still fit in to the Aston Martin structure because of the Canadian link because they've got Mike crack. I can't really see the teams but I can't remember. I think he's the team principal. They've also got Martin whitmarsh, so they are a team that likes having team principals. Yes. So they could slot another one in there. Could be a three, a multi modal situation. Because let's be honest, Fernando Alonso is his own team, so maybe we need a Fernando Alonso team principal. Fernando Alonso. It could just do it. Now I'm the same principal, and that's what I'll be doing. Mechanic. What are you doing? I can change my own tires. Thank you very much. Let's put that petroleum distillation in the back and I was gone. But we have done this option. You're right. And they really interesting options, I think, as well. Because one and I'm not convinced about it because I don't feel like there's enough heat around this. But these Nick devries who did the free practice session in Spain, he's like 47 years old, doesn't they? It's not that much. It's 20 something. He's not. He's not at all. I'm saying he's experienced. And he was a Mercedes junior Mercedes is also the odd thing. It's the old patty low claws, where Mercedes didn't fight that much for patty lo and turn out there was a reason for it. They're not really fighting that hard for Nick de vries either, although obviously they don't have any seats to give him. So I guess there's nothing that can fight for him for. But he said it's out of his hands now he's not only can do, you know, he's talked to Williams obviously the free test thing. They have talked highly about him, but the other one, which I think is really interesting. And it's a little bit under the radar until recently. He's a Logan sergeant. I think he I don't think he's any more. He has a pinged in about 9 minutes, but he is on the I would argue still. Very much on the radar. He's obviously on the books as well. He's going okay. You want to know someone who's off the radar? Yes. Stocks down for Pascal ver line. Who's just going on the attacking roost, just calling him a quote unquote, effing idiot. And hoping that he doesn't want to get to F one. He's gone full opposition leader on Nick de vries. There's no love loss between those two for some bizarre reason. I mean, forget about toda, wolf needing to be worried about George Russell and Lewis Hamilton's work in relationship bloody reserve drivers who market around and formula a that you need to worry about in photo. So yeah, but I don't know about. It's funny. Formula E is never, it's never the step stepping stone to F one. Just to step off. To be honest, it's kind of done with it. You look at your stuff, your genre Eric vernes of the world, and yes, the first mean, it's great that he's a world champion at that level, but it's never never in contention of ever going to Formula One because of formula E unfortunately, but yeah, so I just don't buy into the I say I'm shortening to raise very capable driver, but there's so many other drivers up in the pipeline that you would that I would if you had a fantasy F one team. Yes, I said, I'm not putting very thanks for application. Fortunately, we haven't had to go in a different direction. That would be at the rob James F one time. It's very polite. Points for that. Maybe he can be a team principle as well. I will be interesting to see who will be the first if there is in fact ever will be. A driver that goes from formula E to Formula One. Because it might happen one day, but I'm inclined to be not convinced. It would be like, it's like you're not at the stage where it's super formula option. So I remember that weird season where PA gasly had to have that. He's spelling in Japan. And then go parachuted into F one and then so we had him on. But. That's it. He could have done that. I remember that. We did Liam Lawson did DTM on top of F two. And you didn't win it? Nearly as the DTM champion. He said he blasted the driving standards in ironically. So, but nonetheless, yeah. Weird F one drivers sideways ever sort of holding patterns unusual. So do you segment next week? Yes. Over at Alfa Romeo, there's a seat as well. It's Joe gwyn used seat. Now, well, this is, I'm interested. So he says he's very relaxed, right? It's very comfortable. Yeah, and that's good, but lots of drivers say that. And then they get back. There was a lot of talk when he rocked up to use there for the money. Not him not him, obviously, no driver. Yes. The other way right out. The team's here for the money for the Chinese sponsors. But also Fred Vassar said recently, they've only got two, and one of them they got before jug one year rolled up. They hadn't tracked that many. And also Formula One. It's that thing where it's Formula One's booming at the moment anyway. Where it's heck, can you how much can you separate either way? And you've also got the prospect, the Chinese Grand Prix might never come back because no one's allowed in China at the moment. And then you want the third thing, which is that Alfa Romeo love, Tao Porter, Fred Vassar really likes him. And he's only 30 20.21 points behind Philippe a drugovich in the F two championship. Now if he wins it, he can't. He's got Oscar piastre situation. He wins if he can't go back. It's a good F one. Or he needs to make coffee in the back room for a year. Yeah. We'll go to Super Bowl car. Which no one seems to do anymore. I don't know why it's got out of Vogue. No. 'cause you can't go to Japan by maybe. But that's potentially if I were joke on you. Unless I knew something that I don't, which drogon you probably does because he's him and he knows what he can use contract. But that's, I think that's potentially like, he's not a very good job, and he deserves to stay. But also, they've got this hot young gun who, if he wins it, we'll joke when you didn't win F two. It's a bit of a wild card saying that one. Here we go. So it's kicked in.

"Of the story. So there was no Oscar pierce involvement. What happened since though, which I think is the Steiner way of going about business, which I respect. Yeah, hard hacking. Look, he's a great man. Beautiful man. It also could be asked to be those scenes or more accurately L pain has offered him to McLaren as a reserve driver. Which given that there's no engine partnership anymore. That's quite generous of them. Now I guess in some respect it really reflects the fact that teams don't have reserve drivers anymore. Or a lot of them don't. A lot of them sort of share them. Yeah, well, if you were messed up, you have your pool of stoffel van Doorn of which went easy to never get a look in. Which they'll call Nico hulkenberg first. Yes, we've learned from the last few years. And that's the thing, so McLaren have amassed a bunch of drivers. They know they're not going to call, stoffel vendor. All the restaurant. Yes. Nick devries, maybe they will, but probably not. They've also got America award. It's hard to say that, isn't it? Instead of Pato war, you want to say pet award, but colt ton hurt her? Yes. Not Colin herder? No, I called ton. He's in the frame. That'll be a fun name in the east to come in the future. And then, of course, Oscar piastre, what I think is interesting about this because McLaren didn't really say anything about it, only that it's sort of been offered and he's in the pool. Is that it seems like Alpine has sort of offered him because maybe they felt a bit bad that he didn't even get a looking at Haas. And they obviously want to keep him sweet, right? Because and look, we're going to talk about this over the course of these. So we don't have to go too much detail today, but he's future at Alpine does rely on Fernando Alonso retiring. Which I'm not going to unless the car is an absolute must this year. I'm not convinced he'll do it. Now Ricardo is at 2023 end of. He has to go to a different team. I'm not saying he's going to go to McLaren. I just mean they need to keep him satisfied that they're thinking about it. Could you hear my roster dramas brewing as I was? I saw the twinkle in the eyes. On the fly here. No, that doesn't work out. So there was a false to dramas. Yeah, it could have been an audition for potential McLaren. But yeah, piastre is the kind of driver where I am struggling to recall a driver who's credibility credibility the junior categories has given him such a reputation where he can actually almost be picky where he goes. There's literally a safe vacant at heart and they've gone, thanks, but no thanks. We might just sit that one out and just wait our turn on the Alpine train. So there's still obviously they want to be in a good car. Of which, good drivers in shit cars is not uncommon. So Daniel, you have to remember he was in a car. He had Hispania Holden racing team. And he impressed on his tenure there. Like, yeah, he was at the asan to the groot, but it's almost like that little twinkle in sort of like, oh, you know, he's able to do it like you're George Russell at Williams, for example. Vander Alonso at minardi back in the day. So there was always that potential that could be the case because it also blow up in his face where he has to have a shit taste at him be forgotten about and then Jack Dillon's in the state. It's very dangerous these gambles. So potentially if he, you know, he does one race at McLaren, let's say the hypothetical land of Ricardo COVID get well soon. And he just does one race with McLaren doesn't okay, right? Or if he has a shit race, oh, it doesn't matter. It was his first Grand Prix. He's never driven the car before. So it's a good gamble. That one. And he has the ultimate advantage of just being there all the time. So, you know, Chandler, maybe it would be him. Finally, before we move on to other things, Andretti is I don't think we know he's happened since the end of last year. Hasn't it the Andretti Formula One bid? Michael Andretti wants to be in Formula One. He tried to buy Salva last year, didn't happen. They got angry about things. And now he wants to start a whole new team. So potentially an 11th Formula One team. He says he's written to the FIA and they've sort of tried I've read it as sort of politely said we're not interested, but he's insisting. Yeah. Which is fine because I think it's exciting to be informative. And he said more recently because of course you have to make China a million bucks just to get into Formula One, never mind how much it costs to make your team. They need to have to build it from scratch. He says team principals were originally a little bit cold on the idea and they were, some of them spoke publicly on it earlier in the year like last year, but he reckons they're starting to come around to the idea that actually an American famous American racing brand competing in Formula One while it's having its American moment might be a good thing. It is absolutely a good thing and I've said this time and time again we need another team or two on the grid. I'm happy that the alpha thing didn't happen only because I think alpha is in okay shape. I'd like to think, oh, you don't really know the backroom shenanigans there. But alpha is can stand up on its own two legs. That's fine. I don't want and ready to buy Haas because it's kind of shuffling Americans in your pocket. How good would it be to have two? America times. Great. So especially with, I mean, Haas is a big time. Sort of the NASCAR sort of sphere, but the tools industry. Industrious kind of person, whereas Andretti, that is racing, D and a, that is literally ending Formula One history as well, obviously with Michael Andretti senior. So yeah, obviously the alpay and connection they've confirmed they're going to run a Renault power plant as well. So obviously. So given they're not the biggest player in the political sphere, they're sort of not quite Toto Wolff sort of. Impact in the Formula One world. But Alpine right now I should say they're a customer that they're involved. So they need to sort of push their wider and a bit more and say, hi, we need another team on the grid. We need another tank to supply engines for. We're happy to do it. So come on, make it happen, everybody. Yes, I think it's a great thing. And I hope it does come off. It's hard to know they said because they want to be obviously not next year with the year after. So you're going to need to find out soon, but hopefully people can get around it without having to resort to what Formula One loves to do with these moments. Suing people, finding people or banning people. All being disgraced out and then having a holding company hold on and then move it back. You're listening to Greeks on the roof. Let's take a break from talking about Formula One the Bahrain Grand Prix preview because legal land has been there for Formula One.

"So the appeals been withdrawn which means it session. Middle was disqualified. Which is a shame for him because it was very good drive but isn't it amazing. The passage of time you now accept that as the ruling so you've come to terms with and probably little bit estimate would have been the why it's just like you know it's too high or the f- evaporated by now we let the seal and so whatever you know one lady that we thought we had probably doesn't exist at the moment off. It's leaving wine in a hated room. Kerr for for a couple of years. It's not going to be. They're going to get a good sample. It'll be it'll be very bad. Sample theranos macheted. I've been watching that documentary. The hateley look podcast nevada. What's the discord blow up there. Nas chattanooga learn about affirmative use code chad very junkie injury. Oh okay on that one. So basically it's the equivalent. Acid mass thought. They could get the same amounts of fuel as people could get that much blood out of human as much as s and could get that much fuel out of a kite. The parallels striking. I am intrigued. I'm sick and trade. I look forward to the discussion. God knows i need something to between nine. Am and five am for the next couple of weeks. So one on the list and let's go to the drive a market to Wrap up this part because matiba auto is confirmed. Chewbacca staying at haas. He's still part of the ferrari driver. Young driver fryer driver academy whatever it's called. She's way it's one of those things. We're gonna sit matiba not to go into stein but there is no contract yet but that will happen. He hopes antonio giovanetti will be renewed at l. For mayo which is probably a good sign that he might be friends. Toss this elf. Atari has no alternative but it's current drivers which don't know if that's pessimistic or optimistic. It's hard to know with sometimes. It's a very confidence fee. Driver's saying what we'd like to change them but we can't s alex elbow is considering indie cost. Which if he can't get a drive unifil on next year and considering well assuming red bull racing renew sergio perez which is not a given but it seems likely and assuming that he doesn't find his way into williams which baraboo kinda came. It seems clear that want to keep them at least as a reserve and then he may be well going over to indycar which seems to be a little bit in vogue. At the moment i was i was about to mention on this. It's always been the alternates. Here it's way all the other f one drivers come to spend another detainees in another career. But it's and it's always been that it's always playing bait drivers right. I but felt like before. It was a reluctant plan bay. But now that you're saying drivers like you marcus ericsson's of the world romain grosjean especially in recent times they probably all those f. One drivers stuck in that european bubble and cut and thrust world reform the one. Dekalb very professional series very well run and very loud following. But it's just a little bit off broadway enough to be enjoyable if if if that makes sense and all saying that in a bad round in a in a complimentary way because remember always having he's always indulging in ice cream in american delicacies. Phone hacking you argue with that and he's and he's going very well. I mean he. He spent sorry long in formula one piecing around going absolutely bonkers to finish fifth in a rice when he's a genuine rice winning contender in a lot of one's always bizarre that he's also in the running races like the rookie of the year. He'd indycar bizarre format but obviously a lot more and more these f. one paper going over there and saying this is actually pretty good. I would rather be in contention to win races in indycar and they have a pretty good time at it. Then sort of be miserable in the midfield racing for williams for example. It's probably not where definitely grown zap. And now on you know he could be in that sort of tipping points in his career flecked. Bala with this. It's just too hot. Or do i just find myself going to indycar. So it's becoming more attractive in the corruption and good luck to them. What is interesting. isn't it because it's also this tipping point you mentioned the. Which is i think that the more if one drivers who end up the the more attractive it looks and the less of a. Let's say defacto fullback while it will always be if you grow up in the european system. You're always going to have a crocodile. One that's the point of it. But it will become less of clinging onto your wandering at all costs and kevin magnusson suggested that he probably stuck around for too long because there was not much of a prospect he monte arrived at hostile going anywhere else just because of the way. The driver market works in formula line. Even though he clearly deserved shot in a car but in indycar it can go or you know. He went to america and he could contend rice garage. Clearly as you said he's doing that suddenly we'll find a situation where like let's take. Alex album is the example. If he were dropped as he was last year he would just go to indicate. We consider just going then. We also say. I do wonder this if the rule changes and if on over the next certainly next year nick subsequent couple don't do enough to cape the grid competitive is a whole. Why wouldn't you say more drivers change to a series where there are a lot of other f one drivers or or fun grade drivers and also the indycar. Greg drive as a perfectly good as well. We shouldn't talk down where they can go. And because of the way the series works. You've got a better chance of winning because all the guys who make it to at one almost invariably junior champions like they used to winning stuff heaps. I mean imagined george. Russell dominated every junior series. Only just scored points from williams. How hot must be mentally. It is but that's also the lure of foreign the one it's meant to be that hard any The don't want to be disparaging and saying that. The benchmark is a little bit lower. Because obviously this success. These drivers are finding but it. But it's a lot to obviously with. The cars are fundamentally the same. The two engine. You can pick from and some eric figurines but fundamentally the khazar pretty much argentina who saw it. It's a it's a jazzed up formato basically and in terms of speed as well very very different obviously ride call to haul different ballgame altogether. I'll i'll preface this. I don't actively follow indycar. A hell of a lot of it. If at all i saw just keep tabs on a into in terms of what. I say sort of in the in the in the crooked news media and on the crooked social maybe a you say guys like scott dixon. Who's been around at les. Since i was a schoolboy hellier castro neves one dancing with the stars or threatened with jail time and subsequently won the indy. Five hundred more than once during those periods elizabeth. So judy that you can having a career. Kevin magnussen saying is probably the ship Couple easy this young man. We're talking in that. Kevin magnussen could easily spend ten indycar if he really wanted to to be honest this is a little bit rice and linked debut only meals to the Twenty or so but that's the difference. I think there's an often when i say a driver on their way foam the one. I mentioned this about grown in madison. Last you have it must be a little part of the must be a little pilot inside just is a little bit of dislike. Well i'll a little bit of coming to terms with. I guess your age you've spent so long trying to chase drain you try be there And don't get too worked up on that because lewis sebastian. Good the hogged most of the accolades in the last decade also. But yeah and you often just like what must be thinking when well what do i do after if one. It's these rude shock of it. Almost like becoming a after a professional football has to go back to a civilian lifestyle it just. They often struggle with it where it laced with rising drivers. Thank you peekapoos categories that you want to go to maybe formerly as in the right categories to go to the violence. Yes lots of other categories around the world that you can you take into. Let's talk about former as well because this is the last interesting talking. Point drive a market chat because over the weekend. Nick devries won the championship and world championship. I should say. I will championship awarded and mercedes for. He's rural championship. They also do the same. But then withdrawing their leaving not immediately next year after the next season one more season left but of course we to raise is being talked.
