"Doing welcome to the show? I am Barcelona Ron Hersi here. He is our producers back in town Garrett is here. And you, of course, are welcome to barsky radio. Hope you had a great weekend. Gentlemen. Ronnie doing good name in doing well and garett got some sleep. So you're not gonna fall asleep on the show. Are you? I'm going to try not to but I'm stuck usual. Still running a little low here. Right. Guys, if you really notice it, but on occasion, I actually does off too. Well, I'm just I'm just really good at talking only what I'm talking talking your sleep in that house. I talk and I listened to myself, and that's all it takes about like a light. All right. Well, there's some breaking news. We're going to get a little bit more information. But boy, oh, boy, southern California with just the shootings and stuff. Apparently, there was a terrorist attack thwarted in the LA area. And that's just coming over. So we'll get that information. And we'll see what the story is with that. And. As far as the big stories over the weekend. Besides Ron's band play the hard rock in Tampa. The Rolling Stones tribute band, which was actually pro probably one of the biggest stories, but the shooting in San Diego at the hub, odd, the Jewishness they're impressed at the synagogue there. And I'll get to that in in a little bit. Because I want to make sure that I've got some information on the on the suspect that has been taken into custody. For terrorism plot, but California man, L LA and San Diego, California, a very peaceful chill kind of a place. Right. You don't expect these things to happen out there. But one over the weekend and now one I don't know if they're connected, I'm guessing, no. But federal and local authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with alleged domestic terror plot says here ended multiple targets in southern California citing to named law enforcement off officials the LA times report of the suspect was arrested on domestic terrorism charges, a host of local and federal law enforcement. Authorities will be holding a news conference at one o'clock west coast time, which would be what four o'clock our time. Right. Yes. All right. So maybe when when a check that out, and we went on maybe carry a little bit. You see if anybody's. Yeah. We'll see if the isn't it? Yeah. I if it's. If it's if it looks real important, you know. But there are no names. I mean, I'd like to know who was involved who they got. But the FBI on top of it. So good for them. Understand to the FBI. Apparently, they were alerted to the San Diego shooting five minutes. I think before it happened on social media was a little too late. But a time they got over there. But. That just unbelievable. That you can't even go to a house of worship and pray without worrying about someone taking you out. And you know, they we had an armed person there at the synagogue who really kept this one being a mess. Murder very similar to some of those the mass murders shootings we had in the past. So they were able to stop the gunman in that sense where it could have been a lot worse. But we at the point now where we have to have armed guards at every single church every synagogue, every mosque do we have to have people there is that is that part of the is that part of the deal now because they should be it schools. We know that, but these places are considered to be soft targets, right? I hate to tell you. But it's pretty reassuring for me to see that guy. Standing out in front of the synagogue. I feel better about going in there. Here's one way in dude in one way out. Yeah. And it it just it's it's sad. It's sad to see that guy there. But it feels good to know. He is you know, the just hope he's made of what it takes. Right. Well, sometimes just having some the presence. There will keep somebody away usually the path of least resistance if they drive by. And they think there's any kind of presence, they'll go some other place. Right. But I don't believe every synagogue every church every mosque has somebody outside there. I don't think they do either. I think that's got to change. I mean, I hate to say this is the new normal is the this is the world we live in a point if he people point to Israel. There's armed guards everywhere in Israel. It's really just a way of life. What's ironic is the woman that was shot is this route was his Rayleigh? You know, you figure she lives or she lived a life like that where she was concerned about something happening on a daily basis. She comes over here thinking everything's gonna be safe. It's America if you get shot. It's it's very very depressing. Mega hate to start to show off this way. Because that's not our show is, but it was a big story. And and so we learning a little bit about the. I don't know too much about the shooter. But as a nineteen year old kid, I look at a picture of him. He looked like he was barely fifteen student at Cal State, San Marcos. Yeah. And he just didn't look the part in enemy just looked like this. But he's clearly somebody who got on the on the internet, and hitting wrote a manifesto John Ernest nineteen years old his name John Ernest. And he wrote a manifesto was like a four thousand word manifesto posted online for the shooting, and it was filled with sarcastic jokes and references to the internet video games. Video culture, all that kind of stuff and. The manifesto said that he'd been playing piano since the age of four. So basically, he just wrote a whole life story. But I'm thinking myself at nineteen really that you want you want to end it all at nineteen. It don't get. Of course, they interviewed all his classmates and people he knew he was a quiet good. But he was a good kid. I, you know, me I like to I like to to get to the bottom of things. I know sometimes you just can't I like to find out. Why people do what they do. I'm not one of those guys that comes up with the solution. Because sometimes in in these cases, there is no solution. You know, the cats out of the bag guns around the street things around the internet, people can make bombs you know, what I mean things can happen. But I always try to find out. What makes a person tick? Why people do what they do doesn't look like I said anything about him being bullied. He didn't look a strange looking like a normal kid normal white kid from California. And is life is over basically. I mean wouldn't kill like that. But I guarantee you once he goes to jail. He's going to be the first woman in a male prisons. We he walks into the jail. He's going to be a woman quickly quickly. And then he'll learn when it feels like the field physical pain for the first time, probably. And why would you throw your life away like that? I understand if you've got that wants to commit suicide. They went to the ball himself up to shoot himself in the head after he wreaks havoc. Maybe that was the plan, but he got stopped by somebody else before he could get their excuse. You have a gun there. You can say all these guys ended all with it. They want to he's probably trying to get away. So now, he spends the rest of his life in jail. I don't know what the story what's the death penalty in is there. A death penalty in California. They get away with that. So he's still be thrown his life away for what for what reason how can somebody nineteen to be filled with so much hate actually apparently lethal-gas is allowed in California for the death penalty. Really? That's what this little article about capital punishment. The state says, well, whatever it is guys get the death penalty. Then if that's the case still understand why you would throw your life away like that. I don't know what needs somebody so angry where they do something. Like that. I can't read my mind. It's I try to figure it out. I understand mental illness. I understand that. I understand someone being bipolar. Not being on the medication. And doing something because they are mentally like that. I understand that. But didn't seem to me like this guy was mentally ill for the people who were interview the he wasn't. He didn't have any sort of track record of it. No criminal rap sheet. Nothing like that. Just like this this typical white kid. I think he was like under investigation on some kind of an arson charge or something. But other than that was it. Yeah. But that that was. Yep. Was probably spread on by some sort of internet search of something. And he decided he was going to kill as many Jews as he is. He could that day. Thank God that someone was there with a gun to stop it as as bad as it was by the way. Do you hear Bernie Sanders tweet? What did he do Bernie Sanders another horrific shooting at a place of worship today at the poet synagogue consenting county, we must work every to radicchio forms of hatred and bigotry and take serious action to protect Americans from gun violence. Okay. So this guy gets life in. Prison. Does he get the vote? Great. I don't know. Vote. Then you want to you. You don't wanna take his rights away, right birdie? He gets the vote. Even though he's you know in jail for the rest of his life. That's the best. He can probably end up doing. I it's the death penalty. Of course, would that situation? He's going to be waiting on death row for you know, he'll be in his forties. When the whole thing is done. Well, the skeptic in me says that you know, his lawyers will pull some kind of a fast one, and he'll wind up getting off scot-free, and then he'll turn around and follow civil suit against their family of the woman. He killed and. Oh, no. I always go. At least pleasantly surprised whatever. I get. Ballpark. Even this one. By did. There's no way. Okay. I understand. Okay. We're sending a message to the LA police. This one's pretty Klett. Oh, I got even think about LA God. Oh god. Other story. I'm just saying, you know, this is pretty pretty pretty clear what this is all about. He's this guy said he was inspired by the attack on mosques in Christ's church. New zealand. Basically, this manifesto was a confession letter. You know? I mean, that's what it was. So he's in the same ballpark as Nick Cruz. He did it. We know he did it you gotta get an attorney's going to represent him. And you got to go through all the motions. And you know, I feel about this thing. Then didn't take me long to the back of the head. And that's it you move onto the next case. That's it you hear this both sides. And you say, here's your manifest. Now. You said you did it we you do it. We have witnesses who picked you out. You did it your hands are all over the murder weapon. And that's that. So all right. So that then happened. Yeah. Anti-semitism was really kind of the underlying theme this weekend because they had that New York Times. Cartoon they had apologized for antisemitic went with claims to be an anti-semitic cartoon. Although some Jews are saying it wasn't antisemitic. Do you know what I'm talking about? Yes. This is the one with Trump leading not Netanyahu is like a big dachshund with a leash. Well, actually Netanyahu was leading Trump. Oh, I saw the opposite Netanyahu is the dog goal. I got you. And he's leading Trump who's blind. Sunglasses. He's got a yarmulke on. And so the whole idea is that I guess Israel leads America, and Trump is blocked, whatever that was the gist of it. So they had to retract it. And let's see what would with their political cartoon in the international print edition of New York Times on Thursday included, antisemitic tropes. This from the Editor's Note. The image was offensive and was an era of judgment to publish it..

"Girl, which was one is she? Girls. Every girl is. I mean, she's been around for a while. All right like new girl with a baby. Rich vein of comedy. I've tapped it out. So he's side kick bail, I guess to to symbolism of the veil of tears on the veil or whenever there. It's not likely if they're soldiers or mercenaries kind of both they work for the army, but they're their own bosses, and they are supposed to be advanced scouts for the military. But also loot antiquities for money, and they have kind of Tom Cruise runs them into a goofy kind of one of those comedy action sequences where they're getting shot up. But they're like, whoa. I told you never to do this against village. Full of insurgents were presented as a literally faceless hoard. I think we only see them from the back of their heads. I mean, we see like the bullet hits more than them. I mean, you said that this is a very good cheap way of doing gun five where all you see Squibb's. You don't actually have to see the bad guys. Get some Squibb's running through a narrow hallway, and there's just gunshots web's going off, and I'm like, they saved a lot of money doing the battles. Right. They use that money to then call in an airstrike which opens up a crater unearthing on its tomb of turns out, Nick Cruz has been trying to find some inequalities based on a map he stole from a lady archaeologist named Jenny who slept with it's kind of a silver, tongues devil. He's always talking his way. Atta trouble way into trouble. Got her number from a bathroom stall. It was eight six seven five believe. Yeah. There's a deleted scenerios. I got it. I got God. So Nick veil and Jenny they go for the tomb. They find a pit of mercury and there's all these ritual warnings. She's like something very powerful buried down here. This is meant as a warning to keep this thing guarded in other loud. And this would be very ominous. Russell Crowe hadn't already told us everything that's in the whole like. Just get with the mummy. You already told us this whole it's but it was like you by this. We've seen the whole. It's like if alien was the exact same brilliant movie. It is but beforehand there is a scene where the robot is being briefed about the Zeno more. And they're like, look, there's this crazy alien he bus a chest, and he spits acid blood. He's got another little tiny mouse inside his big mouth face near one of us. They were a bunch of space jockeys, and it burst out of them on this planet. Go find him. And then when John hurt is exploring you'd be like speed it up, John, we know what's going to happen. So the mummy has already undermined itself. So Nick through his own dumb actions of raising the office out of the mercury bunch of CJ bugs, come out everywhere, and they bite veil and nNcholas Nate's on it and the desert. She tells him that he set her free and he's chosen again, we know what this means already because the movie told us, but all the characters are way behind us. So we're like speeded up guys. They airlift out. The ravens everywhere. A sandstorm comes in. This is bad news right off the bat, but Jenny's real excited. She's like Egypt sarcophagus in Mesopotamia and remind me so much of the Monty python meeting of life seen with like a tiger in Africa. Jenny takes a moment to be like Nick, you only care about yourself. That's your problem, which is a weird thing to say to someone you assume you will never see again veil gets possessed by on it. And he just starts stabbing away. Sorry, Courtney Vance who we didn't mention is in the movie, you get stabbed bales. Totally zombie fide. Nick has to shoot them a couple times louder ravens smashes into the. The pilots. That's so raven and the co-pilot laps it for half a second before they die or the ravens beaks puncture is if I gotta go, I gotta go laughing. I'd rather take me with a smile face..

"If you're asking me, do I believe that everybody in the FBI was out to get Donald Trump. I don't I second. Peter Struck and what was going on. Comments back and forth with the woman. He was on a fair with also worked in the FBI. I don't think he should have been involved in any FBI investigation. I don't think in any way. Now, let's not forget. How? They exonerated him in the investigation, and whether he his private comments affected him publicly, but he should admit evolve. But when the president turns this into they're all out to get me. Don't believe it for a second. I don't think at any point. They just decided that Federal Bureau of investigation decided we've got to bring down Donald Trump, don't you can say, you don't think they handled things. Well, there are questions raise. But the picking and choosing of what is out there at times with both sides. When in this particular case by the president and his allies is laughable because I heard it over and over again today from the conservative. Got a crash credibility this guy after he was fired. Yeah. For giving back run info to reporters on damaging information about of all people Hillary Rodham Clinton, K not exactly bashing Trump. Now, the Justice department has come out grabbing it right here, and they're pushing back strongly at what McCabe has to say. Here's what they say. The deputy attorney general again, rejects Mr. MacKay jobs. Depiction of events as inaccurate. And factually incorrect, the deputy attorney general never authorized in a recording that Mr. MacKay references. There is no basis invoked the twenty fifth amendment, nor was the deputy journey gentleman position consider evoking twenty-fifth amendment. Finally, the deputy attorney general never spoke. Mr. combing about appointing a special counsel, the deputy attorney general in fact appointed special counsel Muller and directed the Mr. Maccabee removed from any participation in investigations. There's plenty credibility on the the deputy attorney general. So am I percents convinced what happened here? Nope. I'm not. But the nonsense to me that the whole swamp was waiting to take down the president don't accept it at all. There are many things that happen during the campaign and from the reporting so far which is raise a lottery flags about a lot of people who are tied to the Trump campaign. But we don't know how far it goes up to the president to act like Muller has an achievement. Anything is ludicrous. Look what's happened. With manafort. Look what's happened with Colin. Look what's happened with Carter page. Look what's happening with Roger stone. These are some of the most essential people at least a few of those in stone Manafort, cone, Michael Flynn, these are enormously. Essential people. Now, can you is there anything that goes? Right. The president again on the on the Trump Tower meeting. Because we made this point a couple of weeks ago where the phone calls were now reported that they weren't from Don jR to the president. And I'll accept that reporting one hundred percent. But again, I'm still saying. Not one shredded doubt. Do I have the Donald Trump in my opinion guy opinion that Donald Trump senior knew that Donald Trump junior, and Manafort and Kushner weaning with someone who said they had damaging information from Hiller about Hillary Clinton because all the sudden not nowhere that same day. He comes out and says, just wait something's coming out. And guess what? Nothing ever came out. Sure was tied to that meeting. Adam just quickly before read some tax when you take all this in right now outside of the fact that it's. I don't know how you fathom. This is where countries at right now that weather. Let's go the premise has not true that we have somebody who's the number two FBI guy who Edmund viewed as a partisan any way would be stretching the truth or making this up. Or the other side that there were many people at high levels who were so concerned about the president president that there are wondering who they could get to vote. Yes about removing. Well, it's stunning either way no matter what I mean. Either one of those scenarios is stunning. And sadly, it's not like boy, we're looking back in history and saying whoa, that was a crazy point in history. It's still playing itself out. And I mean, this is just for you know, like like like, I say all the time. I mean, things that happen almost weekly on a weekly news cycle basis, if not daily sometimes more more than once a day things that come out and hit the news cycle that you know, five years ago. Heck two years ago would have dominated a new cycle for months. Yeah. Suddenly, it's we the okay. Well, we'll they'll be something new tomorrow. Among the tax here. Let's face. It. Trump is the brightest president we've ever had my guess is aids. Had to tell them what collusion meant no attention banning likes. Trappings Manatt is smart enough to plan? Anything? That's one of the comebacks people said to who are Tatra now, but are not a part of the administration, but still have great admiration the president. They'll say we weren't organized with all the things that we could pull this off is lunacy. Another tax Washington is predominantly composed a liberals because liberals tend expand the government. There are Republicans all over the government. And by the way, right now, they're filled with Republicans because the president is in control the White House. The Senate is controlled by Republicans. And by the way, the previous two years to act like Republicans don't stick around and aren't a part of government is is false. It's just not true. Another text Moco. Mccain is a joke. Alliance should be rested. Like stone. I wish you would have been Trump and his cabinet of damage virtually every department of the government more textured screen, mafia, the move by the FBI shows how serious men and women saw dangerous Trump was and could be I'm worried about how close we have come as a country to total meltdown. Not sure we'll know until Trump has left office. I love you try to please everyone. We both know that Trump is guilty of everything. I'm not trying to please everyone. I'm saying what I know. And don't know on him not afraid to praise or criticize both sides of the aisle, talk me through caves logic. His boss gets fired. Immediately assumes Trump is colluding with Russia this investigated. The investigation was going on well before that. But then after what Komi had been sane and that what he then said the president to McCabe. That's when the cave brought it to an even higher level. Let's pause right here a year ago today about at this time the events in parkland were unfolding Nick Cruz, killing so many kids harming so many people and excellent guest on this topic comes up in moments in other great guests on the topic tomorrow. We're back with traffic.

"The environmental protection agency i'm not sure pruitt's assistant a female trump official was knocked down by some lunatic from democrat from from david brock outfits i dunno american progressives or together again unite america whatever it's called and you know we got the full story lots of details on what was done to this to this female administration official they're walking to testify before congress and some some liberal runs up and literally knocks her to the floor trying to get to the secretary why don't we have that person's name and particularly the other story that that swept the country this week and for good reason a united flight attendant requiring that one of the passengers put her dog in an overhead compartment when the plane lands the dog is dead looking we're not even talking about minors in these two cases i've just mentioned why do we not know the name of that flight attendant wire they're not pictures of these people they were making society so much worse dangerous deadly for for the poor dog but we can't have their names we can't see see their pictures and know watch out for this person no we can find out about every woman who has ever accused the president of anything whether well founded or not but we don't find out about the names of people who actually do things that are demonstrably dangerous it doesn't make any sense and i i know the schools are saying we're doing this to protect the kids as you point out the real kids who suffer are all the other kids just want to go to school and not see as you pointed out a teacher literally knocked to the ground with a concussion and brain damage because of a student who had been tolerated much the same way that nick cruz was tolerated in parkland except you point out the teacher was knocked down and given brain damage was in minnesota a liberal state yeah so it was interesting about the the minnesota cases i've been i've been keeping my eye on minnesota for a while and this park land shooting allowed me to unleash the research i've been doing minnesota's an extremely leftwing state teachers as a group not not known for their conservative principles for for being big members of of the republican party and the nra what's been happening in minnesota over the.

"On the on the custom of becoming an adult like nick cruz was when he started his crimes and parkland no and and i've talked to a police man friend of mine this weekend and he says it's so frustrating we talked about what i was saying stiffer gun mosley says well you know it's just you can't believe the things that i have to go through in court that they i arrest someone and and on some little technicality or for some reason they don't want to prosecute him so frustrating partly imagine just wait because of george soros manages to buy the da's he wants and what i mean by that is there was a young lady and i'll get the details because i've had my friend on before to talk about it who's who is a da there was a da election in florida in a community they spent a ton of money and the george soros candidate one she's a former defense attorney she is a very liberal person and she doesn't believe in putting a lot of people in jail when you have that person is the da your police can work all day and all night and every saturday and sunday and they can arrest all the people they want and charge them with crimes but when it comes to the person who prosecu if the prosecutor decides to let most of those people go or to plead them down to a lesser charge than it isn't gonna make any difference at all so we don't need additional gun laws we have stiff federal and state penalties in every state in america for committing crimes with a gun not gun violence because there's no such thing guns are inanimate objects but if you have a prosecutor and if soros and his friends manage to buy enough district attorney elections around america and they're still doing it right now you won't even see it happening you won't unless you look closely or some good reporters do good reporting on it and they say george soros came in gave a lot of money to this group this group did independent expenditures on behalf of this leftwinger who then one as district attorney and then effectively stopped using the law for the purpose that it was intended to do randy thanks a lot.

"From npr in wbur i'm jeremy hobson i'm robin young it's here and now today president trump tweeted out he's watching court cases about raising the age to purchase long guns from eighteen to twenty one before acting himself but education secretary betsy devos was asked by savannah guthrie on the today show why the president has been saying he wants to raise the age then didn't propose and in his plan announced yesterday to fight school violence kicking it instead to a commission here's device with savannah gafi on nbc's today show well the plan is really the first step in a more lengthy process and the proposals that the president has put forward really encompass a lot of things that are supported on a broad bipartisan basis secretary baath can i just jump in on that because you're saying it's a longer process and yet the president has made clear what he thought he didn't act like he had to sit there and think about it and have a process so why is it that it is not in this plan what happened and what changed everything is on the table and the commission that is being formed of which i will lead is going to be looking at this issue along with a number of other issues and the commission at the vaas will lead is called the federal commission panel to study things like raising the age of purchase put survivors of the shooting at the parkland high school where seventeen died were quick to react to the nra claims that raising the age would not stop shooters here's student david hogg on cnn my response to that is a nick cruz was nineteen and literally bought his assault rifle.

"I want to tell you one reason why i am sometimes on maybe even often suspicious of studies a brand new study out says schools or even safer today than they were in the 1990s i think that's hogwash the washington times report reports despite the horror of the high school massacre in florida us schools overall or safer today than they were in the early 90s and there is not much of an epidemic of such shootings that's from a brand new academic study researchers and northeastern university say mass school shootings are extremely rare that's relatively true and that shootings involving students have been declining since the 90s and that four times as many children were killed in schools in the early nine 90s as today there about fifty five million school children in the united states of america and over the past twenty five years an average of ten students per year have been killed by gunfire school so in relative terms that's accurate but here's where i think we are being led astray there are too many schools and america just like in broward county who have have a programme like the promise program sounds warm and fuzzy doesn't it why don't they just call all these programmes motherhood and apple pie because that's what they're trying to say it's a warm fuzzy program this program allows children to commit crimes in schools and the schools have a deal and the case broward county to eta deal with scott israel saying when a child commits a crime say assaults another student we want the the ability to deal with it internally well if you want the evidence of what having schools deal with things internally as nick cruz is a good example you commit crimes and what the schools get his they get to look better because they can say why we've only had a couple of kids arrested the school in the last year that's because you have a deal where you only called the cops when something goes absolutely beserk lay out of control all all the other crimes that happened there that might be detailed by arrest records and the like you're not gonna see those at all hear no evil see no evil and in the case of.

"Last year the total number of students who were actually killed in school shootings all through last year was five they're before that it was three and that's three too many students should be absolutely safe in schools and we can do more but i do think that part of what goes on here is a a great deal of exploitation for political purposes often and yes for ratings purposes and and seriously in terms of helping to eliminate some of the motivation wouldn't it be worth considering that something that we had talked about on this show on for a while we tried it but it would need to be a media wide resolution just not to give minute personal attention two people who perpetrate acts like this so that people don't have that idea of going down in a blaze of glory somehow becoming famous for your killings let's go to a your calls to some year in pittsburgh pennsylvania you're on the michael medved show uh hey you think that do you think that the president receiving thirty two million dollars from the nra marco rubio receiving three point three million dollars from the nra do you think that lance their point of view i i heard during the campaign student the uh the 2016 campaign that hillary was bought by goldman sachs and all these campaign donations that she was getting but now that donald trump and all these other republicans are also boss by the nra we somehow are okay with them being bought out by the nra uh and and don't seem to worry about that and our aid funded the training school that this nick cruz who uh went to to learn how to become up mark smith at the age of fourteen i don't know about that training school i do i don't know about the training spend at hold on hold on hold on you don't know that it is in bear you should be embarrassed after mankahlana are on the on the radio talk were licking i and i do know that i do hold on.

"To deal with those red flags and what this does is it gives a person an opportunity to kind of waive those red flags in front of a judge rather than you know sending them fbi tip line where they might just disappear here's the concern i've got the first you know comparison would be say to nick cruz and it as i read your piece i wondered who would be in a position to have sought achieve ero on nick cruise because by all accounts in school thought he's crazy as fellow classmates ladies crazy apparently the people he lived with did not but they were not his mom and dad is muttered passed last fall his fathered past years before that so in that case who would have been able to see and i'm not saying your idea has to be applicable justify it occurs but for example who would have been in a position to seek that order well yeah you know that's an interesting question and in group one of the interesting answers is provided in the fbi statement that was released over the weekend they said a person close to that crews to crews came forward with exactly the kind of evidence now we don't know who it was but it was somebody close to him came forward with exactly the kind of evidence that is used to grant a gun violence restraining order exactly the evidence including you know comments about a shooting was hitting up the school uh instagram photo things like that at but you know it just disappeared into the fbi you know the the fbi bureaucracy whereas if this gdr rove existed that person who is close to him we still don't know who was uh could have the opportunity going to court and do something about.

"The united states of america more student protests are planned apparently in both tallahassee florida at the state capital and in about a month protests are planned in washington dc and yet one of the things i wanted to point out to you is that some of these student protesters do not seem to understand how the government works and i mean at a very basic level there was a student on television just a day or so ago who was telling the telling the anchor who was talking to the student he said well president trump you control the house of representatives and you controlled the senate and you control the executive we want you to do something on the fact is he appears to have been civics class because if he had attended civic swabs he'd understand there is the house and the senate that's in the legislative side there's the executive that's president trump who can't do a darn thing about changing the laws of the united states other than two things one using the bully pulpit to advocate for things that he things might make american school safer and to one of bill comes to his desk that's been passed by the house and the senate the president consign it the president has the voice or the force of his of voice his authority uh an arab believe me on capitol hill there are plenty of people who do not still respect president trump and that doesn't work in his favour but has tuden staging dieins in front of the white house but that doesn't seem very productive because they don't seem to understand if you you want to get something done it's the congress of the united states that has to write the new law it's the congress that has to pass that law and i have a feeling that president trump if he was offered up a bill that seemed like a sensible change that would actually make a difference and there are plenty of changes that have been proposed in the last week or so since the incident at parkland high school that took the lives of seventeen people because of a cold blooded killer an adult man nineteen years old name nick cruz who walked in and.
