"Espn fifteen thirty. You'll hear david bell. And nick crawl talked about what the reds chose to do and i think i think that the timing of this is fascinating and it's not that the timing is wrong but they've announced the david bella signing a two year contract extension. Let's for me fine. The reds moved on from david bell. And i don't think i would have viewed it as a huge crime and they chose to keep him and i don't think he did a terrible job this year. I don't think he was really equipped to win. There were times where an individual mover to mamie scratch my head like pinching asdrubal cabrera by the way as cabrera reds jersey this winter the hot goto item for anybody who wants to be ironic but anyway david bell is coming back with. The timing of this is kind of interesting. And i don't know that we're going to get this answer when we hear nick crawl in just about twenty minutes but just this. This.

"But you're looking for a you know guys that you can count on to contribute consistently swore res- you can't move stock is right now you can't. That's that's a problem because chances are you're going to play with one of those guys almost every single night. I'm guessing going to be that many games on the final court of the season in which neither newstalk is. Our warez are playing. This isn't to lay the blame at the feet of mike dhaka's but the reality is when he came back that was seen as a boost. That was seen as something right now here. We go mussa's back now. This gonna take off here. We go and while the team for the most part recently played pretty well. The last two games notwithstanding they are getting almost no production from third base right now and that's independent of whether or not it's suarez or move. Stock is getting playing time and that's got to be rectified. it's gotta be rectified. By one of those guys gotta be rectified. Ideally by both those guys. But but that's gotta be rectified. I want to spend two minutes here on something very quickly. Because we've been sort of all over the map today on a lot of different things and that was the case yesterday. We talked earlier this week. About the red's not promoting nixon. Sell and nick sends else gonna play for the rights at some point this season but nixon zell versus a relief. Pitcher he's got. They brought up tony santini in but what they did on sunday what they did on sunday and monday was just weird. I don't think. Nick crawl is an incompetent baseball executive by any stretch of the imagination. But just the fact that not everybody was on the same page..

"Wrote that is not shattered. He had he had a cast on it. Yeah i mean. I easy to say. It's not shattered. It's more likely than not it's not. It's so the good news. Is i think if there is a break. It's it seems like it's not serious enough to where it could prevent him or keeping out week one. You still that. What nearly a month around a month so week one so hopefully you just cast it up and if you need surgery you get it done. And you can play with the club on his hand but that that's not ideal but heck. He flashes potential. Hopefully he's ready to go. We want but yeah. I don't think it's some season ending type thing or anything like that. Yeah it can't be. Because i saw the most dominant ed rusher in the nfl on saturday. A preseason football crush on joseph asai. Yeah see i. I thought you were talking about various hot. I mean the bengals fats really good. I wasn't sure you're talking about but yeah it looks like another fifty eight. Didn't he looked pretty good. I thought top to bottom that unit and look you know you only get in the ones for a certain amount of time but against a good offensive line. Good group of skill guys were there. Couple of open field tackles. I would've liked to have seen be cleaner. Yes but i thought that unit top to bottom. I thought saturday night was a good good night for lou romo and his guys. Yeah in it's kind of been an extension of what we've seen so far in tampa because that offense obviously struggled early and that was such a hot topic early on and berlitz finding his way. But i think the defense was playing well and you know until you go up against someone other than yourself. You're not gonna be able to really confirm that. But i think we did on saturday night. And you guys emerge right. Asai was certainly fun to watch. But he's defensive. Backs i mean there is folks made a couple of plays you saw. This starting secondary wasn't like they got shredded by a really good tampa offense that was trying to find its rhythm certainly and instead tom brady went down. So yeah it's a step in the right direction. And they certainly looked better than anyone expected them to at this stage of things. And who knows. Maybe they exceed. My expectations exceed our expectations of seasons yeah. My expectations aren't huge. So what i saw on saturday was was really really encouraging. I'll let you get back to practice. Man thank you as always. We'll do it again soon. Found a good by the way. Just update you. On march into another touchdown in eleven. While we're talking so he's basically dominating practice today. I mean two touchdowns at least four catches by my count during a lot. Maybe more might have missed one or two well so so we can. We can stop saying that he can't get separation we can stop saying that he's a bust. Tamar chases absolutely crushing crossing beth. They've cam so far right. Good deal thank you. Thank our guy. James payne read his work under the umbrella. He crank sal a job but he cranks out a ton of bengals content. We are laid for a break. Your phone calls or ahead. You'll hear from. "The all star game tomorrow on seven hundred wwl w tonight on. Espn fifteen thirty. We've got the homerun derby. There's a part of me that wishes. Nick has tiana's was participating. I don't really believe that the the homerun derby ruined swings. There's no really scientific evidence that that happens sort of anecdotal happens some hitters not so much for others nonetheless these shohei ohtani show which is pretty much with this. Because jordan thompson is going to be joining us. The volleyball great from uc. Who is a part of the olympic team. The us women's olympic volleyball team. She is going to join us in just a couple of minutes. We have a lot of time this week specifically to talk about what the reds do next. This is a very simple mandate for nick crawl. If we give bob castellini the benefit of the doubt that he's going to tell. Nick crawl to go and make the team better. He's got something to work with your good club. That's already you know to a degree. You might say exceeded. Everybody's expectations doesn't have to be as simple as don't trade hundred grain nikola delo. This is very simple. Be creative be progressive and be willing to give up something of value. That doesn't devastate your franchise in exchange for specifically relief pitching but there are obviously other areas. They could look that can improve the team. We said before the season back in march it was going to be on the team itself on the roster of players itself to put the front office in a position where they had no choice but to be in buy mode. Now look they could go in the tank after the all star break and lose ten straighten. It changes the conversation. I guess is that's not going to be the case but my guess is the reds are within close enough proximity to first place on july thirtieth that that they're in buy mode. It is on the team to do that..

"Hank like what i mean. I've never operated roller coaster. But if you're like next in line and they go well hold the phone technical difficulties. Are you allowing people to jump in front of you in line. Yes i think the answer is yes. Let's just see that thing. Go round the track a couple of times so this could be really interesting if he ends up being i on board after they shut the ride down he didn't say the right technical four thirty four forty five. You ever been on a roller coaster. This happened to me on vortex. once you're on the roller coaster and there's a problem vortex isn't around anymore right. Say they sold off all the pieces and there's issues and like your mid ride and they have to stop it and you're just kind of like dangling there. That's not a fun time. I mean that's that's not. That's not where you want to be especially depending on the company to. That's not where you wanna be now. That would be a fun conversation with somebody. Do you think that they're onto us. Like maybe kings island. Frowns upon this kind of thing and so now they're trying to snuff out jeff and find out who the guy is on the radio and talking about the reds while the coaster is moving more promotion for them. Yeah all i've done is talk about kings island for free for the last forty minutes about the rollercoaster in kedah broke down here the other. Uk roku broke down. The other week broke down. What happened to patent hazardous. Had to get off and walk down. No you have no choice. I guess when i think of a roller coaster breaking down i think of disastrous consequences. Like that's like a plane crash. Rollercoaster broke down. The folks had to walk off it two hundred feet. Nope well. that's what it's like. You're on a loop and upside down in the thing stops. It's a hard one. I tend to last time. I was at kings island was two thousand nine or ten. So it's been a while it's not haven't been on a roller coaster y or you have a daughter that's come in. I mean we're we're maybe a year young for kings island for the whole thing. All right well keep me updated. But he's he's still and he still thinks he's going to ride the thing. Yes but he's now trying to figure out what they got a guy with his toolbox out there fixing the track technical difficulty that did not go into technical difficulties on the orion rollercoaster. You think it would be okay to bump brenneman jones. For jeff's i think it's almost mandatory right and we're talking baseball. Who knows what they're talking about. Yeah this is far. More current topical brennaman and johns. Let's face it. That's that's a recorded program. It's not like mardi. And tracy come in here and sit down and do a five minute radio show all right. Well so keep me updated on jeff from kings island on he. It's not just the bullpen. I'll explain next twenty five after four. This is espn fifteen thirty. I'm allegra brendan johnson. Baseball coming up in just about twenty five minutes and our guide. Jeff from a kings island. Have they solved the technical difficulties though we have an update from From our guy by the way. We've we've sort of lumped bob castellini. Nick crawl in in together and you know granted the other day both had quotes the came out about the direction of the club. And what might happen between now and the trade deadline. And i think that's the important part it's between now and the trade deadline. The reds have thirty one games before the trade deadline. I sort of excuse net crawl here. I genuinely don't believe here. You have a guy running a major league baseball franchise. He's running the club. He's running the baseball operations. This is his first crack like the main chair. He is doug i if the reds were to win the world series they would show on the podium the manager the owner and nick crawl. This is his shot man. Do you really believe he wants to sit around and do nothing. They really believe he's just content. Just do you think he'd rather be at kings island with jeff or on the phone with managers of clubs or general managers of clubs that have guys he could get for his team. I give him a almost a total pass here. I want bob castellini to give. Nick crawl chance to show us whether or not he knows what he's doing that to is the part of this man. I want bob to get out of the way and say to nick crawl and maybe he will do this and say to nick crawl. Dude do what you gotta do. Don't care about the cost to go. Do what you gotta do. If it doesn't work you'll be held accountable and if it does work. Well then we might have some answers about with this franchise going long term but do we really believe mccraw. Got this job in october and was like oh man i can't wait to do. I can't wait to give away to relief pitchers and a catcher and then spend the next six months scanning the waiver wire for dudes that might be able to give me twelve decent innings all year. I'm running a big league ballclub. I wanna go sign some minor league free agents. I finally got a shot at the title is mind job is mine. You know what i like. First order of business. Don't go get a shortstop like really. That's nick crawl. Really think crawls sitting in his office right now just feet up. I'll tell you what this is great. Well this is off to a degree if if the reds don't make the postseason none of this is going to be on nick crawl. None of it's really good to be on dick williams either. Neither were allowed to finish the job. But if bob castellini says to nick crawl dude all right your show man go for it. Sink or swim. Do what you gotta do to make the team better done workout. You're going to be held accountable. I that that to me is what you're that's why you have employees. Do what you gotta do. Let me know what you need to get it. take it. Go do the job if you don't there's consequences right now. It's not gonna let you do the job but you have to be the public face of what happens. Did nick crawls. I got in the limelight without dick williams working over him involved an off season in which he was neutered. Cut thirty mil from the payroll before you do anything else. I can't be easy thing to crawl wanted to do that. You think nick crawls not dying to make this team better. Hearing nick crawl wants to sit around until july thirtieth and hope that everybody comes back and hope that the team plays well between now. And then i'm going to guess the answer is no the answer is yes then. He shouldn't be in charge of a baseball team. I'm very willing to bet that. Nick crawl is chomping at the bit to do everything he can to improve the club. I'm going to bat in october. When they came to him. And said buddy both jobs yours go for it. I'm going to bet that the first image that popped into his mind was of an offseason in which he was actively making the team better instead of actively. Make the team worse by the way. Nick crawl brought in tyler naked on the cheap goods him. Tyler seguin tyler. Nick was better than shogo. Akiyama right now and the guy that wants the shogo play at beyond absurd. That scott heideman was playing instead of show. Go but tyler. Seguin was a fantastic pickup nick. Nick crawl wanted to spend his first ever offseason in charge of a big league club just grabbing random dudes and hoping they would stick in the bullpen if he wants to spend his first trade deadline. Begging bob castellini to go get one middle reliever. He's going to be the face of it. He's got to be the voice of his name and professional reputation will.

"It's Sunday, and that means it's time for gym day to sit down with Reds general manager Nick Crawl, Nick. We've seen the maturation or at least heard about the maturation of Tyler Stevenson. We got to see it. In a big league game a few times. I mean, the kid hits a home run in his first major league at bat, and then in his first major league starts, makes one of us. I mean, guns down Billy Hamilton, one of the fastest guys. Obviously we know in the league, but when you draft a high school catcher, you know that it's going to take years of a process of maturation. What has been the process for him? And it's almost as if a light switch went off last year in the fall ball and into this year. And the coaches and you guys have been raving about the steps he's made up Roscoe Park, which we don't get to see it. The alternate site. What are the steps that have gone in to what we see now? You know, I think that when you look at a high school catcher that gets drafted, people say, you know, first round kid. Devin Mesoraco is another kid that comes to mind that that you say Oh, well, this this guy, you know it's going to get to the big leagues and in a couple years do this. That and everything else but I think for a catcher, you have to be. You've got a lot more responsibility than any other position on the field because One. You've gotta learn to hit right? You've gotta learn to hit professional pitching. You gotta learn to it. You know, when you get to the big leagues, they weren't his big league pitching. Then you look in on the other side of this where you've got The the catching aspect and the catching aspect starts with with some of the normal defensive tools like blocking and throwing, and and receiving. But then the game calling aspect of that is that's going to take the most time. You know, you've got kids that have to learn how to call again. When you get to the Pro Bowl, everything is is, you know, you have to understand scouting reports. You have to understand who your staff is. You have to understand. You know what the what That picture can and can't do in a certain game, And that's gonna take a lot of time That's going to take away from your offense is gonna take away from Your regular defense and and it's it's something that You know it just it takes the 56 years. Tohave High school catcher learn what to do and how to do it. Tyler is is a great example of you know, he had his first year You know where first couple of years. In Dayton and billings and you know, you finally start to get a little bit in his first full season in Dayton toe where he was he was comfortable at the plate. You know, didn't really come into his power didn't come into his power but then started to you could start to see it start to see where he was growing and how he was growing and then went to the folly last year and really broke out and then obviously, he's had was on base three times in the home run his first game, but That can't be expected all the time. Nick as always, Thanks for your time. Thanks for having asked the GM is brought to you by Western and Southern put their financial strength behind you. This is the Reds radio network for.

"Ah dropped a couple of times a week. I listen to it on my walk in the morning and I was struck by a conversation he had yesterday. With Nick Crawl, the Reds general manager. Three different things jumped out. I thought you'd be interested in hearing from the Buster only baseball podcast through ESPN. Here's the Reds general manager talking about this is as of yesterday how he feels about this red steam. Had some tough luck batting engine balls and play is not grateful for the offense. But you know, we've scored some runs Defensive We've we've We've been OK are pitching has been really good. I think we're still gelatin still come together in a team but we played obviously had a tough one last night against a really good picture. But At the same time. You know what? We've played well enough to win some games. We We lost a couple one run games, but I really like where we are. I really like our club. Nick Crawl Reds general manager yesterday, so that would have been prior to the 13 Nothing lost last night. He also was asked by Buster only of ESPN about the the impression of the impact that Nick Castellanos is offering. Nick's been great. He's been. He's been a tremendous asset to the club. You know, both offensively, and he's improving defensively as well. I know you know, people's sense of but of his defense. But his stomach has been a really good job so far on our outfield. He works. He works his butt off. He works every day with Jeff Pick are all from coach, you know, working on Reed's Ralph's Andi. I've been really impressed with with just not not only the history that he is, but but how he's improving defensively and you know how good he's been. How good he's been with the guys. You know the competitors has been and just, you know, he's a really good guy, and he's been great to have around their club Reds GM, Nick Crawl on right fielder Nick cost ya Nos. One Maurine this kind of ties in with what Trevor was telling Rachel in the in the last segment, and I think this is an underappreciated aspect of things. For fans, and that is the difficulties in getting ready for this season on the timeframe they were looking at, instead of a normal six weeks of spring training and 27 spring training games. They had three weeks coming off a quarantine and only to spring training games, which became summer Camp games. But Nick Kroll was asked about the differences between spring training baseball in summer camp Baseball. When you walk into spring training, you know where everybody's been, you know. Hey, look, I'm batting practice site. I threw No, I'm on my eighth bullpen. Whatever that is, you know, you know, everybody's pretty much on the same regiment. When you came into summer camp you had guys that might have been on a farm somewhere. That base we're throwing into a barn and they were throwing, you know. 50 pitches into a barn as opposed to a guy that Does have a catcher that can, you know, lives down the street and have a throwing partner. And they can say Okay, well, I could go get this guy and we can throw three times a week, five times a week. Whatever that is. And I think, you know Some guys with a home gym. And, you know, when we came into summer camp, you could tell there were certain guys that didn't have access to a cage. And you know when you're when you're late in batting practice For a guy that's never late batting practice. You know that old man That's gonna take a little while for some of these guys because they're trying to get up to speed. So that's been the biggest challenge is making sure that guys are Guys are continuing to get up to speed even as we got into this season, Nick Crawl with Buster Olney from ESPN. And, of course, when he references being late to batting practice, it's not showing up. Time was like 15 minutes late. It's being late in the cage, not catching up. 22 fastballs and not where you would normally be given your normal time in preparation, And I'll be honest is as he was saying that the Buster I'm thinking guys like a U. N e o Suarez. And the slow start out of the gate for guys like data and a red steam that enters play tonight, Hitting 1 98 Let's check scores tonight. Brought to you by Nix Go Plumbing, Choose Pro. "We'll talk a little bit more about what happened with the trade last night so I'm too teams in the Cincinnati Reds and the the New York Mets who are not really in contention in their respective divisions either the the Cincinnati Reds a little bit better off I think in terms of whether or not they think they can make a push towards the playoffs now they're in fourth place eight games out of their division with both the brewers and the cubs sitting right in front of them of course are in the center the got the cardinals up there as well so three teams between them in the top right he Pittsburgh Pirates who were team that was in the mix and Josh fell on an absolute tear at the beginning of the season I had I had sort of put them back into contention made them feel like a maybe the pirates were involved that was the one division baseball we looked up and down you said I don't know who's gonna win this thing clearly the cubs are a favorite we got five teams here could come out and do some damage you take a look at the the wild card standings now the Reds not looking so hot there six and a half games out but they do have one of the best rotations in all of baseball specifically in all of the National League now they could be doing something here and they've got this they've got this general manager Nick crawled not Nick Kroll not the comedian not that the dude from from the fantasy football shows that show called blanking on the name of that show it we came here if you can remember the name of that show that was a fun one the on assets was it was like the it might be just pop on Intel to me did the league the league dude phenomenal show the league I blanked on management off there for a couple years Nick Kroll of course rocks in on the league Nick Kroll the general manager of the Cincinnati Reds thank you and I'll be back bright arsenic crawl was promoted from the president of baseball lobster like the admin assistant to the general manager a couple years back for the ranch it ever since he's taking over as GM of the Reds he's been competitive and I think that's all you can ask for from a general manager number last offseason when nobody was making trades nobody was signing players and he was out here we want to do one for mac camp yes you'll pull weeds Alex would he was out here saying we're going to be a competitive team went out to get Sonny gray from the New York Yankees so this is a guy who's been aggressive now I'm liking that because two of the players that were traded in two of the top line pitchers in Marcus Stroman and then introvert our that were treated because they both have a year of team control beyond this year they've set themselves up now to try to be competitive this offseason and be competitive in the next year and the Reds well we've got a deficiency in offense they were not going to get anything for Yasiel per week he was a free agent the end of this year he was gonna leave more than likely again I'll see what I said when they traded for him yes simply doesn't scream Cincinnati to me he's not a guy why I look and I think man that died that day both with the Cincinnati Reds role about now barely like plan there any like fighting for because if you miss this last night we've got plenty of audio for you on the other side the Reds in the pirates got into a brawl and this was in a a match Muncie Madison Bumgarner I'm gonna bark at you is around the bases type stuff all this was an actual brawl and the the irony in all this is the brawl goes down like within two or three minutes of us finding out the yes yep week has been moved from the Cincinnati Reds to the Cleveland Indians after not familiar with what the trade is the went down Trevor Bauer of the Indians one of their front line starters how the Indians by the way also feel like air and they're right in the middle of their division known as well sit behind the the minister twins but Cleveland Indians right now are two games up in at number one wild card spot if you go when you look at the division they still got a chance to go and win their division three back to the Minnesota Twins so they traded one of their best pitcher Jim Trevor Bauer with again a year of team control beyond this season but they feel like they're getting Danny Salazar back they also feel like they're getting Corey Kluber back who have been throwing on the side cells are may be activated as early as later this week so Indians feel like they've got reinforcements they also filled two major holes to major deficiencies in their line up and that's that they went out they got friend know ray is from the the of the San Diego Padres to was rumors that poppers were looking to move either him or hunter Renfroe I think if you look around for was more of a a better corner outfielder and you've got a talent friend arrays who's really a designated hitter I so he's I mean he's got a slot right into a DH spot there in Cleveland and the Indians also make a cross state trade the three team deal that sends Yasiel Puig now are to the to the Cleveland Indians so it is I think I won this deal you get friend rants redid young power hitting designated hitter who you're gonna put your line it probably for the next decade or so you would hope you got pulley gal who's got playoff experience Tuesday he fighter who's the guy who gets under other teams getting he's been plants a pretty damn good baseball of late and you give up Trevor Bauer Trevor Bauer now goes to the Cincinnati Reds sort of a weird deal there the pod reason have given up login what login Allen was a back in young starter for them and they give up friend raises we mention the Cincinnati Reds though this is a peculiar one they give up their number one prospect in their organization now he had a down season is in Taylor Trammell but they do believe this guy projects to be a major leader in the next couple years I don't think he's played beyond double eight people on the tax line already I too and I'd say in my head hurt trying to figure out what the hell the potters are thinking with that trade I'll tell you what I think the Padres are thinking with that trade I think the thinking they're not done they know was sent to guard this offseason may still be a trade piece that the that the New York Mets are looking to move maybe they'll be looking to move Marcus Stroman there will be moves made this offseason but now the Padres which are already pretty stacked minor league system have set themselves up to go out making other moves and out and bring some pieces in that will help them be a competitive team I'm all about teams were not totally in the mix yet who are not totally competitive yet setting themselves up for future seasons and I think that's what we're seeing with the Padres a little bit more clearly than what we see with both the Reds and the Mets the Reds and the Mets in acquiring the two front line starters that were available that we knew were available have kind of thrown this whole buyer seller thing

"By way of wrapping this thing up. We'll talk briefly about the outfield situation. And how you think this thing is ultimately going to play out when they get down to twenty five. Well, if I'm if I'm a businessman, I sent Nixon's L AAA just be honest with from player standpoint, I won't Nixon's L on my club kid can play. He deserves to be here. He's done everything. They've asked him to do. He looks good centerfield. He looks good with the bat. Not overmatched at all. He's a major league player. But also if if you're challenged with the job of the business side of that, dick Williams, and Nick crawl you've got to think about something beyond April. That's just how you have to look at. Well, if that's the case, I guess you talk about what happens if he's on the club whose Yod man if he's not on the club. Oh, wow. Well, Phillip Ervin has had probably the best spring of of the outfielders. And I know Scott shepper has to both of those guys have hit the ball awfully well. I just don't know that that Philip urban is going to make this club. Yeah. Very long shot and he's a long shot. And and I can't for the kid. You can't ask for somebody do any better than what he's not only at the plate. But I was critical of of his outfield play last year. And he's really made some great adjustments. You're in spring training. You gotta give the kid credit. Now does that mean that he's going to be in triple all year long? I don't think so I think if he continues on the path that he's continuing to improve. He's got a chance to help this club. What about Jesse Winker? He's had a shoulder problem for a good part of this spring. He is not hit a lick to speak of. And now you've got mad Kemp who can swing the bat we've seen graphic evidence of that. And right now that that probably the biggest decision that this club has to make. I think ultimately you have to make the decision based on do you think that Jesse is trying to do too much because of the shoulder surgery trying to do too much at the plate. It doesn't look like that to me. It just looks like his timing's off a little bit. Maybe he's a little uncomfortable with the the pressure of trying to hit against the guy. That's a big time contract and two new outfitters that that were a dodger uniform in the World Series. So you know, a lot of things can play into that. But I believe in my heart of hearts, Jesse Winker can flat hit at the major league level. I don't have any doubt about that. Now, do you want to give him a little bit of opportunity to get some more at bats? That's where the decision last as I said Matt campus is a guy that the reds have to make a determination on. I don't know that you benefit anything but having bad camp on this club and not getting a batch because of what he can add to the offense. Well, I think for if it would be different if Matt Kemp had not had a very good spring. Right. So he has done everything not only at the plate. But in the outfield that that you could ask a veteran player to do. And he's hit the ball out of the ballpark. And we're talking about spring training for a veteran guy. That's when the bell rings. You gotta you gotta different player there. And I think that's what you have to look at. Well, thank God. We are not the ones. You have to make that decision. That's why they pay dick Williams, and Nick crawl and David bell and all the rest of the baseball people the big money to make those decisions prior to opening day a week from tomorrow against the pirates at great.

"Just happened that you gave a miss too. I couldn't be elsewhere. But it was it was much smaller affair, but it was very much that same vibe where it was like very selective as to who sat wear and who was used to fill what Jerry stable, Mike Tyson, Mike Tyson. Yeah. She told me that I was so mad. I gave him my seat. Oh god. Did they really? Is that a story? It's the story. Did you get kicked out of your fucking seat? I'd never had a seat in the first place. Oh, no. I was relegated to a a backroom. Now. I ended up in the palca knee was fun. We had a good time. Interesting. And if you're more about the story, I'll tell you in lines, by the way, one of our question asker actually was an Oscar seat filler. He says he's done it twice. And it was a lot of fun. So Ian knows everybody a bit. It's fun. I wonder I mean, I'm sure you have specific instructions to like. Not bother the people that much how. Yeah, you can't like sit down to Clooney be like eight. That cleanses cool to the billers. Oh, I'm sure. Yeah. You let them sort of like, a probably let them talk to you kind of thing. Absolutely. Even then don't don't push it. All right. Let's finish up with. One more. All right. We'll finish up with Katherine Blair. If there was one thing you could change about the way, the Oscars are run and organize. What would it be? Well, they should shorten it up a bit. And they have actually because the one thing I was going to say is. Just get rid of the the fluff and the nonsense too, many dumb bits, and they been doing that more and more. They have streamlined at a bit. Yeah. Over the recent years. I I got tricked. I thought that it was true that Nick crawl and John Mullany, we're gonna host the Oscars as Hello guys because they you know, the dudes from too much tuna or whatever they go. Right. Hello, Broadway, show, whatever they're like these two kind of grizzled New York, Upper West side. Like, we're we're dude slow there for roommates straight. I saw the show on Broadway is fantastic. Now, it's on Netflix. We haven't seen it. You should watch. It. But I did see them host think the independent spirit awards. There you go. So they've got experience. So I kind of -ssume that it was true. And I guess they were just trolling and joking about it. Because apparently they haven't picked new host yet because Kevin Hart kind of was problematic or made some tweet that was offensive. And then he he got he like a homophobic tweet some kind that he got kicked off he got kicked off. And then then there were calls for people to put him back on Ellen Degeneres. Even I think is that right? Yes. So they have no host right now. I don't know what the deal is. I think they might go host Louis and just have a series of people coming up and running the bits of sort of what I was getting to is how important do you think the host is does that make a difference for how much you enjoy is in the host almost like it's total filler years there to see who wins the awards like who can't the main role the host is sort of that beginning bit. And then the rest of the show they do like a couple of comedy bits. But it's mainly just to say who's coming up next and admittedly back in the. Day. When Billy crystal was doing his thing and had a nice run of hosting kind of pretty pretty creative intro bits. Those are those are good. But I don't know man like complained last week about sort of the shine being lost for the Oscars. The older I get just just give him out. Give him out. Going off the air. Do do do it all on the red carpet. Let's just have a red carpet. And no where the people that go would probably love that over Email that we know one has to see anyone everyone. I hear talking about going to the Oscars as much as they say. It's like, oh, it's so glamorous and fabulous..
