"At dak prescott thirty nine forty million dollars a year. That's something that i think. That's where the market will be book. He has to get better all young players do but he's already played such an exceptional level. I would not sign baker mayfield. They still have essentially three more years this year. Next year they always franchise him. He was only twentieth in. Qbr in dropback passing. He has really just above average skill. Set and kevin stefanski the head coach of the browns when he was the offensive coordinator minnesota one with other players like case keenum and kirk cousins upon the browns. I allocate some of that money right now too guys like nick chubb denzel ward. I would not sign baker mayfield. So let me get this straight. You're you're not saying. I would not sign baker mayfield. Now you're saying you would not sign him to a long term deal. Even later or going forward. I would wait at least a couple of years. Let's see if he keeps playing at the lovely. Did he play very well. Last year i gave a lot of that credit to kevin stefanski and the incredible team. They built there. And when you're allocating dollars. I just think there's a better use of those dollars. Kimberly what do you think about that you know last year. It was rothlisburger this year. Apparently mike team is going to take aim baker mayfield and just throw shots him so now i know where we are. I mean like give the guy a break. Can we please look at what he dealt with. Since coming into the league. I know situation is easy but come on the guy ahead. Hugh jackson and todd haley. What come on okay. Then goes to freddie kitchens and now he's got comes to fancy. This is the first off season where baker has had the same coaching staff. So give the guy like cut him some slack. And i just looked during the break. I just looked at all thirty two starting. Qb's in the league. I would take baker over like nineteen. Those guys like i understand you can look at stats and everything but look compare baker to every other. Qb there a lot of other. Qb's that i would rather have instead of baker. So but i see. I'm not going to change. Mike's mind because he's just dug in on this. It's a fair point but you don't have to pay him. You can wait a couple of years and let's make sure that last year the beginning of a new relationship with kevin spacey. My point is lamar. Jackson has played as a high level from the moment he started bigger. Hasn't so why rush. If you're the browns. Rob what do you think. Well i look at everything as a football player and if i was a d. coordinator i look at these two players which one is going to give me a bigger headache trying to prepare for. And that's jackson. I mean think about the things that he's able.

"To hear it. I'm joined now by Steve Kornacki in the khaki. Steve, When you're talking to me in the morning like this, Are you at home in your pajamas, or have you already put the khakis on? Because it's working, you know? Yeah. I've got three pairs a khaki. They think the world so all of them last year and I can tell you I haven't Haven't changed the wardrobe sense and I'm up and ready to go for another work day. All right, So you're starting early, and I appreciate it, Steve. We got to start with the NFL because you are my go to NFL expert. Now, have you ever met Paul DePodesta, The analytics guru for first baseball now the Cleveland Browns. Yet you've mentioned a few times. I haven't actually met him, though. Now, Okay? I'd love to see a one on one between you two because I think he must be studying your ever move. So here's the deal about what I wanted to ask you about the NFL. The Cleveland Browns, who are the Super Bowl favorites. I believe in any fair minded assessment have got to decide whether or not to extend rookie deals for Denzel Ward, Nick Chubb. And Baker, Mayfield and Ronnie and Ronnie Jackson, not Ronnie Jackson. Their their safety will come to me and whether or not to extend Wyatt Teller also a rookie deal. And Baker is the big question because he's a quarterback. You. You know what I'm talking about here? The quarterback extensions are enormously expensive to have worked out recently to have been big busts. What's Kornacki view on the on the rookie quarterback contract and whether or not you standard Yeah, well, I mean, the salary cap is that one area where my gosh, I have been trying to study up on it since it was created, and I still think there's little variations of it. I don't fully understand, but just philosophically. When you're talking about a quarterback, I mean, you can see the difference in a franchise between having one and not having one of the most dramatic recent example obviously, yeah. The New England Patriots two decades of stability of dominance. Of just elite play with Tom Brady. They lose them and right away. They have a losing record. And by the way, if you look at the Patriots Super Bowl odds this year, they're sitting somewhere about 35 to 1. So when you finally find a quarterback you believe in you, can you think you can build around? And you think you have a future with By all means, do everything you can to lock that quarterback in and I think one thing. It seems to me in the salary cap era that sets apart the really elite teams. In the potential dynasties from the rest of the league is you get a quarterback like that? Sometimes take a look at like a Tom Brady. They're willing to cooperate when it comes to structuring the deal. Creatively taking a little bit less money. You know, up front, that sort of thing to help you with the salary cap end of it, But I think if you've got a quarterback you believe in Do everything you can to lock that down. Well, now that that's what everyone used to think until along comes to Shawn Watson, who has many problems off the field. We've got the Eagles QB who ended up getting injured, who came out of North Dakota and now with the Colts. We've got the Jared Goff situation. Three big contract, big contracts, you know, defining contract. They signed him in the fourth year where Baker Mayfield is right now, and I would sign Baker. I'd go for the big money and I would sign him. But when do the analytics come in and begin to assess the risk reward ratio of locking up so much your salary contract? Isn't that going to be driven by the numbers? And it's Ronnie Harrison. By the way, is that Ronnie Jackson, He's the president. Former President Trump's former doctor now Congressman Ronnie Harris. Ronnie Harrison is the safety so that this is a big deal for every team when they hit these rookie deals. So it it is, And I think it's you know, take a look at the Browns again. I did my view that when you look at the Browns is that the three Mayfield Browns and and the Browns right now. I mean, there's just there's no comparison and how many false starts if they had a quarterback? Since the team came 21 21 Remember Kim Couch? I I remember when that was Jersey seamless re entry into the league with couch so You know? Yes. I still fall and you've got a couple cautionary examples right there. Um, you know, I could counter that I say with the Brady example. I think I was looking at the Super Bowl odds this week. You know who the Browns currently Have the exact same Super Bowl odds, it adds the next season. Packers, Packers and Browns are both sitting there at 16 1, and I think the Packers that's fair, surprising given the year they had last year. It's because of the instability suddenly did with the whole Aaron Rodgers situation. You know, Rogers has gone Jordan love And can he do it? Who knows? Um, you know, so again. I don't. I think Mayfield still has to prove something's as an NFL quarterback, but I think he's got he already shown stumps and stuff to get potential there to the Browns haven't seen a decade pretty sure that Jimmy has them. Listen to the show in the morning, and I'm pretty certain a lot of the Browns do so there you have it. Steve Kornacki is in favor of extending Baker Mayfield. Let's go to Politics. Steve the the Joe Manchin compromise on voting rights. I've read through it. It's unconstitutional as his s one. It's unconstitutional in that it meddles with, for example, redistricting, which is not anything to do with the federal government. They don't get to redistrict. End of story. It's unconstitutional Nevertheless. Does the American electorate in your polling give a lick about this? When you ask on, you know, to rank top issues this you don't typically see this. What I thought was interesting in terms of what mansion able, though, and the polling was The voter. I d piece of it. And that was one where if you look at the instant reaction there, you actually got publicly some buy in from Democrats, who previously, um Have been resistant to join with them. You had like Stacey Abrams. Raphael Warnock, both of Georgia, come out and say they could see themselves supporting the voter ID component of it. That mansion put on the table and the interesting thing on the polling there is, I think the most recent polling you had nationally on that A couple months old at this point still shows broad support for the concept of having an ID showing a 92 vote..

The Broncos fall the three and six If you're a fan of high flying big time offense, Cleveland was not the place to be today. Houston in Cleveland just did not put together a whole bunch of offense, a lot of defense a lot of grinding it out. He had a three. Nothing lead going into the fourth quarter in this ballgame. Ultimately, they had themselves a 10 7 lead late in this one. Nick Chubb, who had already scored a touchdown in the game, had an opportunity to extend the lead late, however. "What happened? Thanks, Jonas. When we're leaving you the A's got a don't play to get out of the top of the first. Their batting now to out Jake. Lambs at the plate will keep you up to date the Yankees and the Rays, which I think is going to be great. Siri's It's going under way as well. Then the rest of the games. Arrest of Syria's get going tomorrow. Padres and Dodgers, which there's a lot of interesting lam just struck out, So there you go one inning in the books, by the way, the reason I don't play Fantasy football. My kid. I encouraged him to make a trade this weekend. It was Aaron Jones of the Packers for Nick Chubb. And so he made the trade on my suggestion. And Nick Chubb is out for 6 to 8 weeks. He won't even text me back like I've been texting him all day about the A's and all sorts of stuff normally texting back. No. Don't get involved in that. Never do that. Yeah. I'm telling the event Bradley Chub. Chubby's comes makes him that s O. Injuries are a big part of the fantasy of some of the best players. McCaffrey was the first pick in the draft. She's out for weeks. So what do you do, my son? Even though I told him do not take James Connor will you said over and over. I just I think he's just a guy, but he got hurt, and he's not playing a lot. But now what do you do? I think, even in fantasy football, you've gotta have a cove it less, don't you? Yeah, you do. And only if you have a a team full of Steelers or Titans. You have Derek Henry in the game, you know, and all of a sudden they're not playing. How do you handle that? So I think you have They had a covert list the way they did in the NFL with a practice squad practice squad to go higher for Yeah, I don't know. That's a good question. I'll have to check my kid and they won't text me back. What? Are you still mad at you? Yeah, He won't even tell Ike. I would Haye. The good double play by the ace And normally Texas is your fault. That next job got her. Sorry. That's the way he looks at it. Because even really want to make this training go, Dude, I go, Nick job for her. Jones is Karim Hunt available Pick him on again. You know what people are doing on social media? All the people who this is what their quarterback into running backs where Cam Newton, Henry and Connor So, like all over social media, it's like, what did I do to their desks? Cam's out? Gotta help. You've got to be a Henry lost your Honor. I would think That you have some sort of way to bring that. You know that that brings up equity to that, But I don't know. Quality. They can't share it. McKinnon. Yeah, scores a touchdown once a week through him up and figure something out. Anyway, There you go. A CZ faras Covert. I don't know You don't have to sell Peter King today. But what he was saying the reason why they don't want to push it back because I was thinking about this yesterday. Is that like there's a whole lot going on in Tampa, so I'm sure you could move it back if you wanted to. What he was saying. That is to ensure each team plays a 16 game regular season, he said. That could mean the top seeds in each conference would play the railing season games on January 3rd and the divisional playoff game on January 30 or 31. And he talks about the fairness of that if they were going to move things a couple of weeks back Then say, you know, adding a week 18 a week 19 whatever. And he's saying that they really don't want to do that. Not so much because They can't move the Super Bowl, which they think they can in Tampa. But because there would be some inequality as Faras. When teams that play their final game, some teams would be done. Other teams would have to have extra weeks. So who knows? But fairness isn't really the name of the game right now. These games in is although You know this this Cam Newton positive. Is in baseball. Who was the the best player to test positive. I mean, what happened with the Marlins and Cardinals? Is they just shut it down? For a period of time. But to lose your starting quarterback. And the way he plays in the way you've built your entire defense. This is is this the biggest You know subtraction from a roster in American sports due to Cove it where I mean, how do they play? They completely change their team. And Brian Hoyer's Brian Hoyer. Can they have a way they were going to play their whole offseason? Once they signed him was built around the quarterback's live in the run game, and the The jewel option of him to be able to monitor throw it. It changes New England's entire team, and I was thinking when, you know Ah, the D Chiefs practice squad. Player Tomo Jordan Yamamoto tested positive And the quarterback room. What if Patrick Mahomes Gets Cove it Annie, and this's scenario we talked about in the off season. What do you do it today before the gang? They're starting quarterback gets Cove it well, it happened. They delayed the game a couple of days. But it's not like the Marlins and Cardinals where they just pushed the schedule back a week and a half. And you know Paul Goldschmidt wasn't shut down. What do you do here?.

"Is the Dan Patrick Show If the Browns had lost last night, what would we be saying? Way would be crushing them? Baker Mayfield. Odell Beckham's Can't live up to the hype, but they won last night. So is everything okay? Everything's good with Odell Beckham Jr. No, You don't have to trade him, right? Now what happens the following week? If they happen to lose, then Baker Mayfield can play the position. Odell Beckham Jr should be traded. Is it gonna be week to week? It's no surprise. It's no secret. The Browns need to run the football. You have some really good offenses lineman. I want to take pressure off Baker Mayfield, the only 3 16 passes last night. But what did you do? You gave it to your all pro running backs Nick Chubb and you know Karim Hunt. I mean, these guys are really good and therefore I don't put Baker in a position where he's gotta win a game. I don't want him to lose a game. They average six yards a carry now granted, it's the Bengals. That's not a good defence. But Brown's one so we can put that off to the side. Just for a moment like this is what happened. It's week to week where we look at a storyline. And then we want to beat you over the head. With that storyline. The Browns are in disarray. This is trouble. You've got to get rid of Odell Beckham Jr. Kevin's fancy could be over his head as the head coach. They're okay. They looked okay. Last night. They gotta win, and I'm not given out style point. I just want you to win. And if you're a Cleveland brown span, you'll take what you saw last night. Joe Borough made it interesting last night, but there should be a lot of excitement around him. Literal Jock Sniffer - Season 3, Episode 4 - burst 1
"Question. How did he do? Okay. So here's the thing about Joe Brown. This is why I think you like him so much. Oh, it's a really great quarterback that just plays hockey team. So he's like your deck Prescott your a bitch. I thought you were like the light bulb in my head went off last night when I was watching it. I was like, well, he's a good little quarterback like Dak Prescott. He just plays for no wonder Jasmine likes them so much. By the way, I have you know you Optimus Prime Don the word shity so it cut out on you said shity team. That's all right. I show you going to say that we were going to like look we could be an item now. I'm just disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Now he's to you guys wouldn't match very well. He's back to blonde hair doughy eyed, you know, he still has his dreams and happiness. I was just that his way too innocent for you. You know, you just strip him of all of it off. I would fare. I tend to do this with all men though. Let's be real I tend to slowly take away their hopes dreams, you know their desk for Life their happiness any kind of happiness life. It's it's what I do to all the men that are in my life. Okay, so so that's your analysis which fuck off so that's no that's my analysis regards to jobber. Okay, my analysis in regards to the Browns. All right. Here's the thing about the Browns obj less. Always he had headlines Amy. Okay. This team has a boss ass offense page. There is no reason why they shouldn't be scoring touchdowns all the fucking time. I mean think about the players that they have Nick Chubb Fremont who both went off last night Jarvis Landry. I mean you couldn't get you can get that is a fantasy leagues dream right here, right? Yep. There is no reason why this team shouldn't be amazing because you know what their defense is really cool. Good to this team should be really competitive and making the playoffs and they're not understand now Grandma, who knows what's going to happen tell you what happened last night watching this game Baker Mayfield just he changed into a different person. Like when he like a human in a good way in a good way when he came off the field. He didn't go and sit down on the bench. He stood on the sidelines and watched his defense playing and then he I mean he rallied those guys. He was not going down to Joe burrow. I mean, you could totally he's like, there's no fucking way. This guy's going to show me up and there's no way I'm losing to the fucking bangles and you know what he totally carried his team. He really truly did stepped up it was offensive. Now if they can do that every single weekend this team is really like it has all the weapons that it takes to be a fantastic team which made me. Made me Ponder the fact that there's some teams that you just expect to lose and then there's some teams that you expect to win like the team's you expect to when you expect the steel real attacks right now. You expect the Cal you expect to win. You don't expect the Lions or the Bangles or the Browns. I mean the low-hanging fruit, you know, you don't expect those teams to win. So when they have when they have rosters long, the Browns have their own turning into a team that you they should be winning with what they have. So it sounds to me that the Browns are basically like if you're looking at it from a fantasy league point, it's the guy in league who basically cheese his way to get the best team because everybody else is internet either sucked or they were on auto draft or they forgot there was a draft right? That's the guy in the if you're equating it to a fantasy team roster birth. Okay. Number one. I liked it. You know I prematurely said shut up about the Cowboys cuz I thought you were going to say that you expect them to lose and I like that you're saying that you expect them to win because that's what you do you absolutely suck. Oh you that's what we do problem. That's where we are a we are an elite Lord team. Anyway, that's what you're going with I am. Well, I don't know the baker Mayfield is still a shitstain to me so good for him rallying his team. He's still a shitstain. I do love his Progressive commercials their home like the latest one. Yes. They are the latest one where he's like. Oh, it's getting ready to rain. Help me cover the furniture. And two guys like you mean the stance he's really good in those commercials. If you could only be as good a quarter as he is in those commercials. We would be set the dog pound would be set. Well, we are you a dog pound or now. I mean, I you know, I have a soft spot for the Browns just cuz they always lose. And ever since that movie came out draft day with Kevin Costner yet. Oh, I'm out. I'm done with you. done with you Amy. Your brown spot is showing. I know I know you know, I just I'm weird that way I don't understand it. Either it is I don't either try to figure you out every day and I just you know, I do too and since I'm like, oh I get myself today and then sometimes I'm like now he's nope don't understand myself today, but that's okay. That's most of us as well. Amy. So rest assured you're not in Company by yourself. I think it is twenty-twenty it is. Okay. Well that's sad because now Joe burrow Hollow be his name Falls 200 and two. Yeah, it does and but you know what this guy he's he's a good quarterback. He is is there he should be in his helmet I think time to get mr. Guys. Sometimes he tries to carry his offense which isn't great because then he gets pummeled by pencil like he got pummeled last night several times. Well, you sure. Why does LSU brain sure what he's trying to win? And I totally get it. But at the same time he needs careful because you know, oh, he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well getting them know and you just see a lot of what he was doing at LSU that worked and I think you know like every rookie has this learning curve right where you come out transition from college to the big leagues and it's like, oh, okay, it's funny cuz I was like really different style of football right? I said to Bruce last night. I'm like, surprised that they just threw this guy in the deep end. I mean they just started. Oh totally, I mean, they didn't granted he dangles. What else do they have? I'm. That's the problem. They don't have anything else but you know like places in my where to get backing up Fitzpatrick that makes sense. It makes sense for him to kind of, you know way into the NFL same thing with Dwayne Haskins, you know, he he was back up for a while until he kind of learned his name. Yeah, now Joe girl, man. They just threw him in the deep and they're like here you go, bro, you go bu. Yeah. Well, you know what gotta he is trying I mean, he's playing his ass off out there. No he is but he is and that's why I'm like super team Joe burrow like we gotta do this man. Like I'm telling you. It's the stogie. We'll do it get this guy that mean that you're a Bengals fan know how fucking no. No, I like. Oh bji in a Browns fan. I like Joe burrow Ina Bengals fan, you know, I will always bleed silver and blue Amy. That's the only color I would leave home. Anyway, let's move on to the Chiefs. Okay, love us and Pat Mahomes you love some Andy Reid do that cheaper mofo back, right? So Andy Reid's big old windshield mask that he had on. When was it last week? I can't remember. Yeah. We're only in week to segregated windshield wipers. Yeah, so people were like what the hell and so like it was fogging up. You couldn't see shit, but this may be a thing. This may be a thing coming to a coach near you because off on the first Sunday of the NFL season when this happened several coaches were seen either one not wearing masks or to not wearing them properly because the mask police were out and the league is not going to stand for that. It's currently vice president of football operations. Troy Vincent issued a memo this week saying protocol requires all individuals with bench area access including coaches and members of the club medical staff to wear face coverings at all times failure to adhere this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and or clubs. However, Amy, there is no word on what those accountability measures will be so that to me that phrase is what kind of sticks out to me. What does that mean? do you do find them? Probably I mean you can look dead. Here's the thing. They're coaching on the sidelines of talking into Mike's they have to be able bird they have to be able understood. It's really hard for all of the to happen on your face plus all these guys are around each other all the time. They're all you know, I practiced together around the field. They're hitting each other all in each other's faces, you know, I mean and how many people have tested positive since the start of season one? Yeah. They did a very good 2700 players so very good job with with that right off because like you said, they've been implementing measures. They've been following the rules, you know, they've been testing a lot, you know, we got into this, you know leading into this actual season. Jeez, how many coronavirus updates that we talked about on this podcast about hey, this is what the League's doing. This is what they're making them do kind of thing. So something is clearly working. It's really great to see that that's positive news that you know that they're only seeing that wage. Chat, I think I that they should I really think they should go with a handy read mask to be quite honest can still see the coaches face. The microphone can kind of be up underneath it. So they may be able to understand what the coaches saying and and you're shielded. You know, when somebody comes up to your face, you know, I mean, think that that's fine but having to wear them like when it's just, you know covering your face in your nose again, like it's hard for me to understand people when they're wearing a mask and talking to me. Yes, I mean, so imagine imagine being on the field the quarterback coaches saying the guys in booth coordinators up in the booth are trying to understand what the guys on the field coordinators on the field are trying to say, I mean, it's just it's a it's crazy. So it's a shitshow you gotta be able to walk. You gotta be able to your job. I would take that looking like I've got the windshield of a Camry in front of my face the whole time vs Lee having something on my mouth cuz that's frustrating me. Yeah. Give me the telephone number. Windshield all day long over the you know, suffocating face masks which by the way speaking of Tesla. Did you see that their reports of some them being janky like getting like parts that were like really cheap shity on some of the Tesla's that were falling apart marvelous. I know so yet twenty-twenty doesn't happen. Just wanted to put that in there for you. All right coming up next in offsides, you know fall like we said is upon us. Although you wouldn't know here in Texas. It's still like an anus outside but here's something for your home that will make it fall feel less anus e okay Mom handles some new ones that are coming out and they're actually already out and we'll explain to you with those candles our next. All right, let's get into offsides and we've got some candles to tell you about so Amy, yeah, you know football's back. So if you want to get a little piece so that game day experience at home along with fall. This might work. Okay. I know you love candles. There's a company that's owned by Anheuser-Busch call Babe wine. They just created three football scented candles one smells like an artificial turf field. Okay one smells like a Nachos not bad and one

Andrew Luck's retirement shocks football fans
"And we were shocked by the stunning retirement the age twenty nine Andrew luck the Indianapolis Colts quarterback one estimate I read it a half billion dollars in four gone earnings your reaction might going to made it your top ten but your personal reaction to this young man saying I've got enough I'm not going to risk my health my personal reaction is that this present a massive issue to the NFL how dangerous indeed bill attending the sport can be hold it takes on top talents agenda and I were talking about this last night you reminded me of one of the great Green Bay Packers Brett Farr battled addiction to pain killers the talk about taking fifteen by the bike it in at one time taking a month's worth of pain killers in two days and so I think that the lock during the war you said that the joy had gone out of football the you're stuck in a cycle of the injury rehab injury we have the New York times on football a comma convulsant writing players of locks generation now make a loop whose calculation between help Christmas money and that's going to put them in conflict with team owners who always want more football not what and if you did a little more digging tomorrow you'll see that Andrew luck got crushed his first two seasons with the colts because they had a terrible offensive line to go back to Michael Lewis is great but the blind side and I'm watching Baker Mayfield were on the cover of the brands on the covers SI Odell Beckham junior Jarvis Landry and behind the Baker may feel and Nick Chubb we're gonna have a great year we had a very good offensive line after job attorney I was at left guard and I'm beginning to think that reading that Andrew luck story the brown should start trading draft choices to get in a line to protect their asset which is Baker may feel he's the whole club these everything and the reason Andrew luck is quitting with half the career of Roethlisberger and and one two fifths of the career of Tom Brady is because you don't have an old line it be it Michael Lewis is frightening still right this is a brown story is proof that all politics is local the the the ill the triumph of hope over experience has led me to have season I have my four on the fifteen people want them and I'm so excited about Mike Allen always a pleasure good Monday
"nick chubb" Discussed on Establish The Run
"Voluminousness scheme ideally they want to be a more run heavy than i think people realize okay nick chubb evan is up to the rb eight thirteenth overall all in your update however still behind james connor still behind levian bell a nick job is set up at least for the first nine weeks at least until kareem on gets back <hes> co suspension a niche of is set up to i think absolutely destroyed do johnson gone major goal line role really exciting offense. I also think i would add that trump. I believe is like sixty four hundred on decay in week one would expect him to be among the most popular players and with good reason home against tennessee <hes> evans. Have you moved shebab. Have you thought about going above connor and levian. Oh yeah i mean if the season just went from in weeks one through nine then i would have nick chubb in the first year among unfortunately he's got that you know the issue that kareem high if he comes back which he probably will then he's going to hurt nick chubb in the fantasy playoffs <hes> so that's the big concern trust me onto using using nick job as much as i can in daily fantasy and i want him on my team. I you know especially in the overall rankings in the top one fifty. I tried as jamie up as high as i possibly can just hard to get over leon james connor because of that kareem hunt late season concern <hes> but coach but nick job at the head had him down at a rb ten but he got an obvious bump when the browns traded duke johnson because it could potentially unlock nick shove in the passing passing game last year nick saban ten starts averaged only two point eight targets per game. I do think the dontrelle hilliard will be involved and i really liked dontrelle hilliard extras late round famous ekka jam him up into the top fifty but i don't think that <hes> dontrelle hilliard is gonna play as much as duke johnson last year duke johnson actually play forty two percent the browns offensive snaps and i'd be very surprised if dontrelle who you're got there. I think chubb now has a shot to be an every down running back. Oh yeah really exciting citing for nick trump and speaking of that duke johnson fall out <hes>. I thought kiki who had a rough few days there i mean i <hes> they get do johnson. He's gonna take away some some short area target's share and then also who take handshake the injury bug. A. goes down in preseason week one but a guy he received up just a couple of spots just a small little bomb but you you gave willfuller bumped from wide receiver thirty two to wide receiver thirty will fuller is coming off an a._c._l. Tear however reports have been extremely glowing <hes> on will fuller. Are we know what he's been able to do with shawn watson in the past. I don't think duke johnson effects will for nearly as much as the effects kiki unqoute. Say are where you add on willfuller yes. This is another situation where i just wanna have willfuller ahead of his a._d._p. Because i want to be drastic asking him myself and i want the establish the run team to be getting so i just wanna make sure always like four or five spots ahead of his a._d._p. So he's been healthy in training camp. Health is always been the biggest question for will fuller since he got into the league is eleven touchdowns overs hours last sixteen games kiki tay now questionable for week. Wonder that ankle injury so we'll fuller is a guy that i want and right now. I have missed a wide receiver thirty one. I've i've been looking at <hes>. Maybe moving them up a few more spots to a._d._p. Right now is wide receiver thirty five so if you're using the rankings using tears good chance of drafting will fuller in that's that's something that i want. I want him as my wide receiver. Four in would not even be disappointed if i took him as my wide receiver her three <unk> after going running back in the early rounds yeah <hes> <unk> like guys like willfuller was a big turning point for me in playing d._f._s..
"nick chubb" Discussed on The Bill Simmons Podcast
"Here's here's my here's my the only take i really care about in this whole podcast other than the fact that people in snake drafts and use p._r. Losers nick chubb was fucking rockstar last year yep they stay trade for kareem hunt or whoever they got him. They signed me up. They signed him and then everybody's kind of off. Nick chubb 'cause cream hunts there to my god. Well guess what <unk> going to be there for eight weeks and nick chadwick chabert gonna kick ass and when by the time cream hunt comes back. They're going to be cool. Nick chubs on pace for fourteen hundred yards and fifteen t._d.'s adi's. I'm all in a knick job. I thought he was great. Last year. I think he'll be even better this year now that they have odell on baker's year lager in and you pointed out in your piece this that you just wrote about baker the way he's throwing downfield which all that's gonna do is open up more for chub. I fucking love nick charles. I don't get it forth in the n._f._l. And rushing yards from week seven on last year <hes> i in your in i in yards after first contact precarious two point four one <hes> you know can do to you is knocking dudes over last year is what he's doing it. I'm sorry i just two point four one yards afterwards contact procure last year that was fourth-best in the n._f._l. Not i sorry but still he was a rockstar. I it was the best rate among rookies better than saquon barkley better than anyone and to your point like freddie kitchens took over that offense in the middle of the year so now you've got a a full year of credit kitchens being able to be like this is the offense i want i don't have to you know i don't have to adhere to what hugh hugh jackson wanted <hes> they brought in todd bunk and who's a very creative offensive mine as well and so yes setting up play action to your point about beckham like beckham landry three or shot higgins david and joe khoo once calloway comes back like they've got some guys they can stretch the field which is going to open up. Thanks for nick chubb. The offensive line is the question mark here but i'm with you. I think trump's gonna have a monster season cream. Hunt can't play until week ten because there's a bye week in their rendering his suspension so i'm with view like people. This is one piece of fantasy analysis. They don't think it's brought up a lot. <hes> which is like a locker room and a team is like any other other workplace in this sense right. There's politics involved and everyone you think about like there may be a guy at your work where you may not a man or woman that you don't think is is really up to the job but they have the right connections or <hes>. They've just been there forever. Whatever and they're the person like football teams in the same way to your point bill. If nick chubb is crushing crushing. There's no way they all of a sudden say all right. Thanks nick chubb. You take a seat here comes cream hunt. He'll be a change of pace back. Maybe it will put guys in the backfield but there's going to be a guy named dontrelle hilliard. It is going to be there passing down back but yeah nick chubb should command a tremendous amount of volume for the cleveland browns or you get eight great weeks out of them. Yeah you could rosso trade him after week. Six to the dumb ass in your league who doesn't realize cream hunts coming back an traded for premium guy. I'm also as i said earlier i love having the offenses and look cleveland's getting more smoke up their butts than anybody. I get it but i actually think in a weird way. It's the only reason people pau have either doubted or cooled off on them a little because too many people like cleveland or too. Many people like baker. It's like not just embrace it. Baker is going to be awesome. Awesome nick chubs gonna be awesome and if odell can do basically the randy moss when moss was on that terrible oh six raiders team and then came to the pats and was with the right quarterback at the time of his career and he makes jump i in my opinion..
"nick chubb" Discussed on ESPN Chicago 1000 - WMVP
"A young talented back Nick Chubb, they're deep and then they've got a defense. It's going to match Maoz Garrett. They've got Denzel word they've added some pieces. So tell it wise on this team, they got it. And then you've got a head coach. And Freddie kitchens that everyone's like, oh, we'll see pretty coaching comes off to me as a guy that is the perfect fit for this organization that well the humility that he talks about the the. Honesty. Daddy throws out there. You know, when we when we're successful. We always have that friend that keeps us grounded. Right. That keeps us like, hey, don't forget where you came from. Or you haven't done anything yet. And that's pretty kitchens to the Browns couple that with John Dorsey their general manager who drafts incredibly well Baker mayfield's cheap in the next five years. They are in your hand Fulla teams. Your doesn't teams that you go? I see this team certainly being in the conversation and winning championship. Dan, Orlovsky on ESPN sees the Browns as the team of the in the group of handful of teams that can win championship in the next couple of years. I mean, the the commitment that they made to signing free agents. And and the talent development that they have hold on hold. Why not we understand how the NFL works flashy pieces that are on the edges that does not win a championship. It's about the grit and the running backs. No, that's a line. Okay. Offense of defensive line play. They've added market or back play. Yes. You gotta get weapon. They make a good. It's a good quarterback. Because you get a star wide receiver. You're gonna win a Super Bowl. I'm not saying this year, but I could see them in. You don't think they can win a couple of playoff games not this year? Maybe next year they can be much improved. Okay. Let's get past five hundred. I worry about that. Let's see game for the Cleveland Browns is out of control. Well, yeah. Of course, they are. Of course, it is look at the stars you've assembled. They were on listened aren't hard knocks last year. Everybody fell in love with them. Come on. Of course. Super Brown's Super Bowl. All right. The NFL live crew they talked about the team that improved the most from the NFL draft at the team. Everyone's gonna hate to hear me say. It is. I mean, they're draft is fell exactly the way they wanted to. They got tremendous value really do the entire three day draft process. They added wide receiver death. They added a pass rusher. They had running back that offense alignment Dante. Nikki is going to turn the starters. I mean, the rich keep getting richer with this football team one thing that stands out to me. I don't know if it's the most improved team. Pittsburgh's first round pick of Devon Bush was such a huge sort of now pick need pick. Because the hope obviously he'll stabilize that whole defense in the middle. Give them something similar to hopefully, what Ryan Chaisiri is to give them. So I look at that as a team that really addressed its biggest need in a major way in the draft. And I think if the Steelers do get things together on defense, they could be one of the more improved teams in the league. If missing the playoffs, I love Philadelphia. Did I mean Andre Dillard attack who the best pass blocking tackle in this draft? And they got mild centers in our Sega whites on the single Whiteside was the best receiver in this draft. When it comes to contestant catches. And so you've added. Weapon at back weapon at receiver a great potentially great tack on offense. I love their draft. So there's NFL live crew on ESPN talking about the teams and the most from the draft the New England Patriots the champs, you know, you look at a team like that improving from draft watch out. And that's why you say a surprise. It's not surprised, but that's why when you hear dental lofty talked about the Browns wing and Super Bowl. Listen, the flashy pieces does not make a champion in the NFL draft. Well, and you have to continuously do it the zoo. Well, listen to what he said about the Steelers. Yeah. Get someone to anchor that defense flashy pick. But it's a guy to anchor the defense. That's I'm I'm Chris Boden here on ESPN one thousand let's talk some basketball as tomorrow night, the raptors and the seventy Sixers the seventy Sixers or facing elimination. I game six the raptors are up three to two in this series. And to talk about we talk with Keith Pompeii from Philly dot com. He's the seventy Sixers reporter you can also follow him. On Twitter at Pompeii on Sixers, Keith it's Kristen Adam. How are you tonight? How you doing? We're doing pretty good. Not as good though as Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons played in this series. What has gone wrong for the seventy Sixers so far against the raptors in this series? I think one of it is still being can't get a rhythm. Whether is his knee is at the upper respiratory infection. Is at Marcus owes decent. You know what? I mean. I think you know, those things combination is setting them back and Ben Simmons is one of these things right now. Kinda used to having the ball in his hand. He hasn't had been Jimmy Butler. So you know, basically pick and rolls. So you know, then has to try to find it spot. And also, it is kind of like, you know, he's not being as of grasses 'scuse me as as normally is. So, you know, those combinations of really set the sixes back, you know, in the last two games that they played in the soon. This may be a dumb question. It wouldn't be the first one from me. But is it just me? Joel Embiid always sick. Dude. It's not a dumb question. And yes, is is not you. He always seems you know, if not the injured, you know, he's injured in injured. You know what he misses first season? Right. And then I think the second year to third year he played like thirty something games. You know last year. He had fractured his orbital bone, and then niche year he had attended night. So yeah, he's all is always something. I mean, you know, Joel and be has yet to have a season. You know, where you say there's not any elements whatsoever. Keep on pay joints, crisp an dollar here on ESPN one thousand and ESPN app. We're talking about the Philadelphia seventy Sixers so Keith here in Chicago. We obviously are very familiar with Jimmy Butler. How has he fit in with that group? And do you think that there's any chance that he's going to stay in Philadelphia after the season ends? I think a lot of it has to do with him. You know, and we go is to like after the season. You know, it was a point in time where you know, you know, reports came out about, you know. Saying certain things that hey coach Brett Brown. And now, it just seems I adopted the role as the team lead it, you know in the playoffs. You know, he has the ball thing. He's also, you know, the one, you know, Joel Embiid, we'll say some crazy things than Jimmy is the guy there with a Mattis by trying to prevent them from saying something crazy, but you know, the team has time like adopted his personality a little bit on the court. But I think is ultimately up to him. You know, Jimmy Butler is one of those things where when when when they made these great it was under, you know, thought or the expectation that these guys are going to come back. But again, if Jimmy feels like he could go somewhere else and Ican be more of the focal point, you know, then I believe Jimmy may may. Decide to do. But also, you know, he knows that the Sixers had the most money to awesome. So he could decide to stay here. But I think ultimately it's going to be Jimmy decision. So if chivvy stays goes, what's the next step in the in the quote processes, everybody likes to say if he does move to the Sixers go if he does stay what can they add around this team? Do they have any open CAF space where they can add more assets to this team? I think the gay plan. The Sixers it like, you know, they wanna bring into whole squad that like they want. They want to bring this entire starting lineup back. Let's say in the regular season starting lineup of Jimmy Butler Tobias Harris day, ridicule and be Benson is only played ten games together. You know, they feel like that. That's going to be the number one starting lineup in the NBA next year because Golden State is expected to lose people. And they know that they'll probably get some drastic get some, you know, some what is it like mid level exception guys like that. But they feel like it if they can keep all these guy, and basically since they had the bird rightful, then basically they'll just be have to pay luxury tax, but they wanna do that. Because they wanna win a championship. So is Jim. Any stayed. I would expect them to, you know, try to keep to buy, you know, try to keep JJ now one of Lee's, then they'll be one of those things where you know, they wanna go hard on the free agent market to try to get someone. They probably won't be able to give someone like a MAC because they're going to try to give it to one of the other ones. But if both of them stay, but we haven't left. The players Ross now, but if both of them stay didn't know, just you know, they know they can re-sign them due to the bird rice and just the EPA pay luxury tax keep on page Crispell economic dollar here on ESPN one thousand and the ESPN app if the Sixers lose tomorrow night is there any way that Brett Brown gets fired. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. I mean if they lose tomorrow night. You know, I I don't know when the fire and WorldCom, but I do expect it to happen. You know, here's the thing. So, you know, like, I said we're talking about the line of what's up about how good, you know, the starting lineup is, and you can think of the trays that they made like they wanna make Jimmy. They gave up to starters. They gave up aqui Reeser. They gave up Brett and then with the vice harass, you know, they gave up another star too. They gave up their their top rookie. You know, who's going to be a great player and Landry Shamet and they gave up draft picks. So it's one of those things where you know, they gave up a lot in for them to lose in the second round put a second consecutive season. You know, it just doesn't look good for the team. And the owner basically came out a couple of weeks ago and said our expectation is to make it a lease to the car. Conference finals, he was also a you know, it will Brett being your coach next year. No matter what. And he didn't answer the question. So, you know, Brett Brown knows that he'll he knows that in order for him to be basically chief his job. He will probably have to make it to the conference finals. So if he loses. Yeah, he's basically key. Thank you for taking some time tonight. We appreciate it. Thanks for having. That's Keith from Philadelphia. He covers the seventy Sixers for Philly dot com. You can follow him on Twitter at Pompeii on Sixers Jesse Rogers with alive. Live in game report from Wrigley field coming up, and I have the win total projections the FBI from ESPN dot com for the Chicago Bears..
"nick chubb" Discussed on The Fantasy Footballers - Fantasy Football Podcast
"I fifty percent word. They might fresh legs. Keep take some work off of Nick Chubb. It'll be really hard to figure that out. Once you're at that point. But what I was going to say about job is the one through eleven all of those running backs all of them have pass catching in their profile up until we are at Nick Chubb. That's and that's I love him as a player. I think he's a fantastic running back and he set up to succeed in a big way. But if you don't get those targets if like bad things can happen for fantasy ceiling. Yes. Yeah. I mean, he was he was pretty darn impressive last season. But you're right. I mean, there are a handful of players that will talk about in that same vein where you know, Derrick Henry, we just had this conversation the studio yesterday. Fornet? Yeah. It's interesting. I do see some similarities between the way you would look at Nick Saban, Damien Williams and Amy Williams comes in at number thirteen. Now, I have eighteen Jason Mike much higher. Mike at eleven Jason at thirteen. That means Mike does have Damian Williams higher the knick Chubb, which means that Mike you must be reading in more to the Kareem hunt situation and having more confidence. Damien Williams is gonna get you from point A being weak wanted to point B, which is the end of the Damian Williams at this point of the off season is extremely difficult because. I don't think that any of our rankings are going to be anywhere close today. When you go after the NFL draft if after the NFL draft, we know that Damien Williams is fully projected to be the lead runner. I won't have mad eleven I will have him higher than that. He will be inside my top ten and in the same can be said that if they draft somebody in the third round or higher Damien Williams will crash out of my top twenty. There is a ton of risk today Moines. One hundred percent he's running to where he is for me because I actually factor in more than just the NFL draft. I think fell draft is variable that could be a detriment to him. The reason you love us Rb three from weeks fourteen through seventeen when he was the starter. Now. He could have the most fluid rankings of any running back in the top twenty five for the duration of the offseason. We're talking into preseason because they're still a world where you're seeing things from Carlos Hyde in Kansas City that or in training camp get ready for the buzz time, you're going to see things that all no why did why did why did Carlos Heidrun with the ones two days in a row exactly run with the ones. Again, carlos. I doesn't scare me while I get that. He doesn't scare you. Now. I wanna see you so resilient when the buzz comes in and says it could happen. I do Williams has earned it. We cannot we cannot ignore Carlos Hyde..
Giants hold 12 picks in 2019 NFL Draft, including two in first round
"But as for the giants they now have the number five pick and the number seventeen pick in and another third round pick. So yes, they have two first round picks. Just like the raiders do. Well, the raiders have three first round picks this year. But those in the high twenty so already the giants have to hire picks than the raiders did when they traded away, Amari Cooper and Khalil Mack. So there is some positive. They have to picks in this draft. And this is a highly touted drought class defensively. So they can get their defense a bit. And as well draft a quarterback into an Haskins who seems like he's gonna ghost the second quarterback selected. It seems to me that collar Marie still going to be the first overall selection by the Arizona Cardinals as they are shopping. Josh rosen. It's not they have not announced yet they have not made that official, but there's just been confirmation from other sources that he is being shopped. So to me, I think Colin Murray is going to be going to the cardinals with the first overall pick. And with this trade the Browns are a serious contender. I mean, just look at this offense Baker Mayfield under center Nick chub behind him. And when cream hunt comes back probably from his suspension, which is probably like six games roughly he'll be back in the lineup. Oda Beckham on one side Jarvis land joined the other you'll LSU teammates Antonio Calloway in the slot. Davis. David Joko at tight end. That's a great lineup right there. That makes Baker Mayfield. Job so much easier. When you have that much talent at the receiver position anti-dam position as well as your running game being strong with with Nick Chubb, who is extremely underrated is one of those in my opinion, one on the top picks in the draft. I'm sorry top pigs fantasy football wise in the draft.
Shawn Watson, Texas And Nick Chubb discussed on SportsCenter AllNight
"Baker through TD's and fellow rookie. Nick Chubb, carry the raw for over a hundred yard in East Rutherford. The texas. The Shawn Watson toss two TV's to lift Houston to twenty nine twenty two comeback victory over Sam darnold and the jets Bill O'Brien and the Texas notch their first ten win seasons since two thousand twelve. Yeah. It's great. I mean, I think ten wins is hard to do in this league. I give our players and our coaching staff a ton of credit are our players have worked very hard to get to this point in the season. There's a long way to go here there really is. We haven't really cliched anything. But I give coaching staff a lot of credit. We've got a really strong coaching staff. Really strong offering. This was Watson's fifth game winning drive in the fourth or teeth tied. Drew Brees for most in the NFL Steelers. Workhorse jeans, Connor has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the pats. "You know, we like to cover all our bases here on Golic and wingo earlier this season we had on Nick Chubb, define rookie running back for the Cleveland Browns and to make sure we're fair and balanced. We wanted to make sure we had all our chubs covered in the rookie category in the NFL. So with that in mind, we're delighted now to be joined by Bradley Chubb, define rookie outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos, Bradley, thanks for being with us. First and foremost, obviously, a really tough loss to the team yesterday with Emmanuel Sanders professional chain movers. We like to call him going down with the achilles. How difficult was that? When you heard the news that he's done for the year. Difficult just because of the guy like he always bringing energy to the field. Always brings the passion of the game. We love the game in the one of the biggest leaders and biggest playmakers. Good now is never fun. But when you got guys like cordless ending. The future is bright. So. Support as much as we care, and then build a new guys to come up in maybe plays in his his place, rather you're having an unbelievable sees a man five saxes all you need in the final four games to pass Giovane curse. Most sacks by rookie in NFL history. How have you been so productive right out of the gate? Just having a great teammates around having a guy like Bob on the other side having guys like Derek wolves Zakar Shelby, Harris. I haven't gotten in the middle just doing their thing. And we all feel like as a as a Russian that we all. Bid on the same page a lot lately in helping. It certainly has as we say you have ten von Miller has twelve and a half right now. The two of you have combined for twenty two and a half. I think the Broncos record when you had von and DeMarcus ware their side to side was twenty four in one season. Have you guys not only talked forget you and the individual record that you might be chasing. Have you in Vaughan? Talked about seeing if we can get that number together. Yeah. I mean because we have d wear to building with us all the time. And they always talking about how they got twenty four. Joe? We'll we'll break dad and stuff like that. We're not chasing numbers right now. We just trying to say as wins and win as a team. And if that comes with getting twenty four plus Saxton, then we're gonna be happy with it. Well, listen you've won three in a row, obviously. Now, you face San Francisco without Emmanuel Sanders, but how much has von meant to you and mentored you you had a big reputation coming out of North Carolina State. A lot of people thought you might end up in Cleveland instead of Nick and went in the second round how beneficial and what? And how much has he helped you von Miller and becoming the player you are right now. Lot. I mean, you see him coming on the draft who the guy said I looked up to try them of my game after to be there and witness it in practice in meetings and stuff like that. It's pretty cool. He's very helpful on the field off the field with different things that I need just a overall grey gardens. I'm excited to learn from you mentioned the fact you've had this judgment talking Bradley Chubb right now, the Broncos linebacker on Golic and wingo, ESPN radio and ESPN news. What is the biggest challenge golf from college pros? You've made it seem seamless. But whether it's off the field or on the field with someone that you didn't realize would be challenged. You've had to overcome. So there's a lot of different things one day. I didn't think I had to overcome would be a different schemes and stuff. College is a four hundred hundred is going straight ahead and stuff. But now. Linebacker job in the coverage of different things at first it was like a big shock to me. I didn't really know how to handle it. But I feel like over the over the year. I've been having great coaches great teammates helped me out and just go out there and just play fast and not think as much as I was in the beginning of the season Bradley Chubb with us fine outstanding rookie for the Denver Broncos. And you were having an amazing season. There's no question about it. However, you could make an argument you may not even be the best rookie on your own team with what Philip Lindsey has done the undrafted running back who has just I think twelve yards behind saquon Barkley for the rookie league in rushing yards. What what has he done that surprised you so far in the season? He's been absolutely incredible. Like, you said he's been incredible OTA's canvas stuff. You could see the fire in them and see how he operated, but you never I never expected to see him do. I'm not saying it's not a great player. I think expect him to to bus onto the scene like you did. And I'm just so happy for field. He's gotta my lockers right next to here. So we always on comparing status and stuff talking to each other and pushing to be the best and so a guy like films just happy to see that's coming with his season. So so is there a lot of given take with you guys? Like, I'm going to be the rookie of the year. No, I'm going to be the rookie that you guys talk about that at all. Yeah. For so. And then if we if we get too too far, we started throwing other people's names and like he's better than us. Just joking all the time. But. This is still one of my boys. Like, I said, I'm happy for you know, the Broncos overall currently six and six at three game winning streak. You know, what was the biggest challenge Bradley, you guys had to overcome? And why do you feel like now your team is rolling? The biggest challenge we had to overcome was in those type of games who we wouldn't make the play to get us over that hump. And I feel like when we played the the charges started this little three game winning streak that we got over their home. And then carried on so Steelers and the care at all. But I feel like just to to lock you in towards the end of those games. And even those games might come down to one place to play that could have happened in the second quarter planet can have in the first quarter. So minimizing those mistakes early and later on in the game just finishing all star. That certainly has been the case the last few games, including the way, you got up and just took it to Cincinnati. A Bradley job is with us. So we had Nick on your cousin earlier this year. And we ask them this question. So we're going to ask you as well how much back and forth is there between you? And Nick about what you're doing. And what he's doing with the Cleveland Browns. No back and forth. There's always love as as cousins and the family members and stuff. But I know when we play is. I don't know if you haven't really seen them on the field yet. But I normally he might talk back. So there's gonna be is there. Another Chubb coming down the pike pipeline that we need to be prepared for at this point. There's this growing up right now and get into football. But right now just. In the league right now. And and that's working out. That's all work it out. It's it's done. Very well. And it's been a great season for you. So far how much do you think about chasing that rookie record of Japan curse, fourteen and a half in one thousand nine hundred nine? I'll try not to think about it. Just because. I don't wanna get off course of what came here to win games. And a guy like he always tells me just keep your head down and keep working. Don't worry about numbers on. Today's numbers is just as what the team needs to do whatever the D coordinator needs to do is go out there and do that. And don't just go out there and just chase individual rates. Well, if you're gonna listen to somebody I'd listen to von Super Bowl MVP, and then hit it right at the time talking about timing free agency right after he became the Super Bowl and VPN Super Bowl fifty. He's a good guy to listen to him. Hey, Bradley, we appreciate you being with us. Best of luck this weekend against San Francisco. Anytime man anytime Bradley Chubb with us. It's really great story to see what he and his cousin is doing. And also what what Philip Lindsey what Philip Lindsay is doing on the offensive side. And what Bradley doing on the defense side is really a remarkable production from a couple of rookies in the NFL never seen Philip Lindsey in college. And there was some talk whether or not he was the best running back in the pack twelve he was not because Bryce love is at Stanford. I guy was an Royce Freeman his teammate now at Oregon. Right. Exactly. So it's been great to see guys who can make an impact. I'm always impressed by that. Because as you intimated college to NFL, it's a lot harder than people realize is ridiculously hard. And you have to learn that it's not good enough to be an athlete. You know, everybody has athletes in the NFL coming up week fourteen in the NFL kicks off tonight. Plus, we have an expert among us. We'll get to that next on ESPN radio and ESPN news expert. Here's a no brainer. Barbasol is making razors. Try the barbasol ultra six plus.

"Glory, America. It's Hugh Hewitt. I'm not there today. Take a little time off to make sure we are ready for next week. After the Florida recount is does. However, I've left you in the hands of Bob, France. Yes. He's finally become a Cleveland Browns fan after all these turnaround years he getting on the bandwagon. And we're happy to have a very very glad he's taken over me today. Bob brand. Fake. News fake. News fake news, fake news. Where's the president? You know, what I need to do Dwayne? I'm gonna ask you if you can do this. Can you get me a cut of the president's saying fake news because I wanna play that every time you gets on me about the Browns or Baker Mayfield or Ohio State or anything else of that nature because? Yes. I want the president. No, right. And here's the other thing. I would love for you to do if you could for me, please Dwayne. Here's what I need you to do when I'm not guest hosting when Hugh Hewitt is doing the regular show anytime, he references me and his Baker Mayfield fake news. I want you to just drop in fakeness just drop it in for me. Just a he'll ask you, what are you doing? And you'll just say I'm doing what Bob asked me to do because he's not a believer in fake news. Right. I don't care. I don't care. Tell him tell him get it done for me. I think I think in the interest of no I. I don't care about Baker Mayfield. I know you don't by the way. I am by the way. Good morning. Thank you so much America about France sitting in for Hugh Hewitt because you didn't get that part yet from the pain-free relieffactor dot com studios of AM, fourteen twenty answer here in the rock and roll capital of the world in Cleveland, Ohio. I know you don't, but I have to tell you. There's something really really fun. Maybe I'll play this next half hour just for the sake of it. We don't do. You. Does very limited sports, obviously in just having fun with his guests Steelers fans went up, but it's fun. It's just entertaining. Baker mayfield. The Browns quarterback was miked up at their game against the falcons this past Sunday and those cuts have been released by the NFL from all of the things that they picked up. He is a funny cat. He is just a very very funny, entertaining energetic, dude. I mean in the middle of of again, I don't want to belabor this. But he handed the ball off to Nick Chubb from his own eight yard line in the game this past week and Nick Chubb took off on a ninety two yard touchdown run. And the mic that Baker Mayfield is worrying catches him screaming like a banshee just screaming and cheering and then yelling at all of his teammates. Did you see the hand off the hand off that handoff offers great? He's taking credit for the run because he handed it to Charlie and just such obviously, fun and self deprecating fashion. It was just hilarious. It's really funny stuff. And I think you will actually appreciate that. And I, unfortunately, unlike him, rather, I'm not a purveyor of fake news. I will give you the truth. All right. Speaking of the truth. I wanna go back to a soundbite that I played in the first hour of the broadcast this morning because I want to have a little more time to comment on it. I didn't I didn't have time coming up, by the way at the bottom of this hour. We're gonna talk with Margaret Brennan CBS face the nation. But but Harris was was yesterday. Just it's beyond embarrassing. It's beyond. I'm struggling to find words to describe how truly a horrific what she did was yesterday as she tried in her interview or not our interview her questioning rather during the confirmation hearings of the acting ice director soon to be hopefully, God willing, and if there's any normalcy left at all in DC will be the next full of permanent director of ice Ron video. She's comparing. Immigration and customs enforcement ice. To the Ku Klux Klan. She wants the director to acknowledge and admit that ice is like the KKK. I have no earthly idea how the director the acting director was able to keep his cool and to keep his composure as long as he was. I mean, we're we're very precarious time right now. I think we all realize this. Yes that the caravan is approaching fast. In fact, some of them are already there and they've climbed because they've gotten bus ride some three hundred fifty four hundred of them have been there for a day and a half. Now, they got bus rides and they're way ahead of the pack, and they're climbing up the fence, or whatever you wanna call the their ridiculous non protective barrier that we have in certain parts of the along our border up at the climbing up and sitting on top of it and mocking us. Some of them are jumping down on the other side and then scrambling back over when the border patrol agents come running and so on and so forth there just mocking us. But the, but in very very short time thousands of these asylum-seekers slash. Invaders. And that's an issue that we'll talk about more are going to be here. They're gonna say the magic words once they come to report eventually, and then there wouldn't be told. Okay. We'll give you hearing. And you know, they'll they'll disappear into the mainland United States into the into the whole of the country. Lord knows what part of the country. They will they will disappear into and then they will not come back to the tune of eighty five to ninety percent of the time. They do not come back for their for their hearings for their their solemn hearings is whether or not they get sick. And when they come. We don't know who they all are we don't know from which countries they originated or not all from Guatemala. They're not all from from El Salvador, the some of them are from. I think I think the report I heard a couple of days ago from from the administration is that over one hundred countries are represented in this thousands of individuals who are trying to come to this country. All all they have to do is get to Central America like Amal, and they can join the horde of people coming northward. Right. So. So very soon. These people are going to be in the mainland United States, and they are going not all of them are going to be just innocent people looking for work. Many of them are going to be of the criminal variety, drug runners, sex traffickers, and so on and so forth whose job is it to track. All of these people down your local police department know your county sheriff's office. No federal authorities ice. That's their job and Cobbola Harris, essentially said that these law enforcement officers are like the KKK you cannot make this up. You cannot write this, and you cannot justify this language, please. Let's hear from Kamala Harris, again, cut five talk about the history. But it's the history that would then make those words from the clan was what we would call today a domestic terrorist group. Why? Why why would we call them domestic terrorist group 'cause they tried to use fear and forced to change political environment? And what was the motivation for the use of force based on race and ethnicity, right? Are you aware of the perception of many about how the the power and the discretion? Had is being used to enforce the laws, and do you see any parallels? I do not see any parallels between I'm talking about this officers agents. I'm talking about perception, I I do not see a parallel between what is constitutionally mandated as as it relates enforcing the law. Are you aware that there's perceptions we know are you aware that there's price in the same category? As the KKK is that what you're asking me. I know I'm very specific about I'm asking are you aware of a perception positives for the way that Harris is demanding that the director of ice acknowledged that there's a perception among slow witted. Moronic people like her. That is is similar to the KKK the KKK. Hung people the KKK burn crosses in people's yards. Burnt houses down committed torture and murder all on the basis of race people. They did not like that. They did not feel deserve to live among them. Ice captures criminals. Nice protects people from criminals ice stops human, traffickers, ice stops, the flow of drugs into the United States from foreign countries, which are killing many of these very same people in minority communities, by the way at a disproportionate number to the rest of America is is the good guys. And she says there's a perception are you where there's a perception what difference does it make what you perceive Kamala. Harris Senator what difference? Does it make what you perceive an other liberals who are just too focused on their own agenda and too short sighted. You realize how ignorant they actually sound why should this director care about the perception that people like you have when you are in such a small minority of number of Americans who actually think that way about our law enforcement agencies, and that the vast majority of the United States of America truly understands and believes in the first of all the rule of law. Law and second of all the agencies with whom we task enforcing that law. How can she possibly make statements like this? And why should this director care about the perception that people like her have please continue the discretion? I see nothing. I'm not finished. I'm not finished. Are you aware that there's a perception that that ISIS administering its power in a way that is causing fear? And intimidation. Particularly among immigrants and specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico. And are you aware that ice is creating fear particularly among immigrants? I really wish the director would have said Senator can you tell me what the acronym ice stands for..

"What was that shelf awebber hub? Didn't stick the landing or whatever he was going for Donovan with the call the Browns radio network, Nick Chubb, the rookie running back delivered the knockout blow for the Browns. His ninety two yard touchdown run. The exclamation point on a twenty eight sixteen win for the Browns over the Atlanta Falcons in Cleveland, a great all around effort for the Browns got three touchdowns in a brilliant. Baker Mayfield outing got the big stops when they needed it on D. Mark a fresh reminder that better days are coming in Cleveland. And perhaps they're here. The last win that they had in November was four years ago against the falcons. Wow. That's how dark it's been. And it's sort of like an unbelievably surreal experience following the Browns to even see what happened today because you're always waiting for the other shoe to drop in today. The other shoe was dropped right on the head of the falcons and the. Mayfield and shove Rupp for rookie of the week last week they've been up to other times, and it's going to happen again. I don't know how it couldn't. And this rookie class has changed this team from the inside out. And I know there's a lot of all the focus will go on the offense. The defense today had an excellent game where it was such a compl- the Browns haven't had a complete win like this in years and years and years because it was the zone defense that kept Matt Ryan running around looking for anyone to throw do. He threw him off. His timing was something you just haven't seen from the falcons and everything that I thought that Atlanta was gonna do to Cleveland St. Pence, they somehow did not get it done today. They did not allow I think it'd at most one pass over twenty yards for Matt Ryan. And I think that's falcons team is probably cooked at this point. But they're just simply not the same on the road. And Greg you mentioned the Browns crowd last week in a somewhat meaningless game coming off a terrible week. They were on fire today. Another reminder that if this sticks this is one of the better crowds in the NFL. I think the most impressive streak in the NFL is your ability to read what the Browns are going to do by the end of the first quarter every every Sunday for five years, and this could be recently biased. But that is the most excited. I remember seeing you on most excited you you've allowed yourself to be on. I think it's the same that as you know, as Sam darnold when he has his moments for the jets, and you feel like you're not just rooting on smoke and mirrors that you have a you have a quarterback that you're not going to give up on for a long time. It's a little bit of a different foundation than orders pass. What else gets you excited when your number one pick says like stuff like this after the game? Then when I woke up this morning feeling pretty dangerous..

"Weekly rewind. Big news on Friday after we had recorded and put up that show, Carlos tied was traded to the Jacksonville, Jaguars the implications, many of them. Carlos Hyde. Now a committee back in Jacksonville team struggling struggling and the Nick Chubb getting the opportunity in Cleveland, maybe some more opportunity for Duke Johnson. What was your reaction to this trade? I, it was huge news for Nick Chubb who came through. He did have he had the touched him, but I think that at this point what the Cleveland Browns need, Nick chub can provide more of it than Carlos site. Carl sides of fine running back, but Nick shoves got those young legs. He's got juice. That's I tweeted out a mall in on Nick Chubb a Salata people were as well. You spent more than a Kittle. Yes, I well, if this was a pretty tilt chilling. Yeah. Why don't you tell me. In our league of record. I talked about on the show like Nick, Chubb is a stash to me because I do see him eventually taking over. Yeah. You saying that in the studio for the last couple of weeks like you, you, you want to say it on the show, it's your money where your mouth. Yeah. So I finally had been spotted. Okay, great. I can get Nick Chaban on my team, but what might team really needed was a wide receiver. Ted Ginn goes on the i. r. Mike? Well, I'm gonna grab Cam Meredith or Trey Quant Smith because I need wide receiver depth. I don't know when Nick chubs gonna take over. I grab cameras camera Meredith on Friday morning. And as you know, Friday afternoon, Nick, Chubb became instantly the the hottest commodity on the waiver wire. So I had him for free drop them then had to use all of my fab just to get him back and it was worth it. Yeah. Got him. You do you feel like you didn't tell spend all that fab like, well, here's why didn't have that situation. Would you have spent sixty four dollars on? Yes, I still would. If I had not previously added dropped. I mean, yes, I still one hundred percent would have looked at my fab. What do people have left? I'm going to outbid you or I'm just gonna put everything in and hope I get him and this worked out 'cause full Glenn like many of you. I had both Melvin Gordon and grow on my teams. Who on Saturday decided our just not gonna play football, so very tilting, very tilting week for me. Yeah, you had and the Melvin Gordon one in particular was troubling. If you're on the west coast. I mean that game got started so early that if you didn't know or you weren't aware, you weren't ready to to pivot, you got caught with your paying stain. You did not not everybody. I mean, I set an alarm at like five thirty in the morning just to check to get up just to check to see on Melvin Gordon and not everybody take. WCHS fancy that Syria and then major injury news for the patriots in general, rob gronkowski missed the game at the back injury. Some people have rumored this being a multi week absence. We don't know yet, but he missed the game and there isn't a natural fill in tight end on that roster. So you had to pivot to another team. Maybe it was a us among maybe it's a Hooper. Maybe it's Cameron bright, but you had to pivot out of a stalwart on your Oster and then Sony, Michelle, really pushing into the locker room during the first half of the game against the bears. Downgraded out and where you're waiting for injury news on Sony, Michelle. Yeah, right, right off the bat, pro football doc came out and said that he believes is not a serious season ending injury that it'll be probably a short term injury to the knee a couple of weeks that is so far in the early reports, they haven't got the Mariah back. But the early reports confirm exactly that that they don't believe it's a season ending injury, perhaps some kind of spray into the MCI, but we'll know more either by the end of the show or tomorrow..

"Saquon barkley once then i started saying well it makes sense to me jets can take josh rosen at three i said but they're gonna take darnold so i i now to the kids who had no clue is going on the jets are gonna take darnold because it's a safer pick i said and then the browns will take nick chubb pardon me bradley chubb the pass rusher at nc state i said and then josh rosen we'll go to denver that's where they'll do good denver sure enough the picks came but the shocker was the jets taken darnell made sense the the shocker was denzel ward the quarterback out of ohio state to cleveland many people thought that was reach some people thought the niners could've taken him at nine or even later i was really all set for the forty niners to bring on roquan but then he got snatched up right before the niners got to pick but back to the rosendo so i said okay denver we'll take him i kind of like them in denver that'll be fun afc west come play the raiders and they take bradley chubb nc state and now i realize now rosen's into freefall now kept showing them to maybe you didn't see this but they kept showing rosen sitting there and there was a lot now i watched the look on his face all upset now you've got india six they got luck i think if he can stand upright they take quentin nelson now you've got buffalo and i'm like okay well buffalo and do they trade they go ahead and get josh allen and that's what i was like oh man now three qb's have gone ahead arose rosen this is now officially on he's now been told he's the fourth best quarterback in this class so i was starting to get a little miffed actually believe it or not for a guy who never be starting to really defended him in my mind oh going on then chicago takes roquan.
