"Talk about. Whatsoever. This is the accent. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I just told Brandon, when I go home tonight, I just told Brandon, I said, when I go home tonight, bro I will watch, I'm not watching the all star, not watching any of that stuff. We'll get into that a little later today. I'm going to watch the XFL games that I DVR. I'm going to get a big sandwich. I'm going to have a fat boy sandwich tonight. And sit home, wife and kids are away for the night. I got the crib to myself, and I'm going to watch the XFL games for today in support that Lee and I'm a football junkie. So I'm going to check it out, bro I got three word betting tip for you on the XFL VJ, you ready? Okay. Take the under. They don't score a lot of poison. They ask for a lot of points in that league right there. But last Sunday, around this time we saw a ton of points scored 38 to 35 Kansas City wins the Super Bowl Vijay, the Castro defensive touchdown that she told the people about us. Last Saturday, it just didn't catch on the team that you thought it was going to. Dude, when he picked that ball up, I said, I know it was part of one of my parlays and I lost the whole parlay on that. I already had three going in my favor, and it was just like, yeah, but yeah, and I thought about that. I said, yeah, but I'm not gonna brag about it 'cause I got it wrong. I did say I defensive what's cooler, but I thought I thought it would be the eagles in them. Jalen just bar just slips out his hand, man. He's trying to cut and hits his thigh, and they scoop and score. So you're right, man, I called a defensive touchdown, but I missed the team, Martin. I just got to say this though. Congratulations to America. Legitimately, okay. At this course over the last week, has been honestly, I'm impressed. I'm impressed with everybody. Okay, okay, I can't. I can't help but I can't help but lock in after the Super Bowl. I hear what the y'all's in the everybody's as you thought has to say. Yes. When I saw Jalen hurts drop that ball. I thought dog on it. It's gonna be a long summer. All I'm gonna hear is how Jason heard his cost in the Super Bowl. And you can't pay this guy all this money. In fact, not only have I not heard that. I heard rumblings from different people around the business. That potentially telling her she could have been considered for an MVP spot In a loss, and you know what? I don't necessarily go that far, but I definitely will lean towards the MVP side of things, much less than that he's the reason they lost the game side of things, even though he did have that fumble that led to a defensive touchdown. And you're exactly right about that, man. And I'm gonna be honest with you, I was surprised too, and I was ready for you. You know me when it comes to the black quarterback. I am locked and loaded and I want all the smoke from anybody that legitimately has some legitimate smoke about it, bring it over here. I'm ready for it, but I did not hear that. And I thought what that showed man was a turning of the tide hopefully, not for sure but hopefully I turned it in a tide of the way that we look at these quarterbacks and understand their importance to the team. And now what it did knock down was, it's the team is the reason why Jalen hurts is winning, because Jalen hurts accounted for four, touchdowns. He was throwing dimes, making the defense miss breaking ankles in the open field and lowering his shoulder and I thought, now I know you can't give the Super Bowl MVP Martin to a guy on the losing team. But even not being a LeBron fan, I can openly admit I thought LeBron should have won the MVP and one of those years against go to. I can't remember which one it was, but I thought he was the best player the entire series from whistle to whistle from war in the horn, the entire series, but I get why they don't do that. But I think that's something that needs to change just my opinion. If you give it to the best guy, if you look at World Cup and BAPE one, which is basically the MVP, right? And he had to stand there kind of with his face like, yeah, while messy and all of them are holding the big silver trophy. So I'm with you on that one, bro it's surprised me too. The one thing I do got to say, I don't know where we got away from this. Winning. Letting these to matter. We're talking about the most valuable player. You can't give the most valuable player award to the guy on the losing team. I understand the intellectual argument behind it. But in practice, in reality, no, no, no, no. Let me ask you this then. And intellectual, not just intellectual, who did you think the real MVP of the game was? I thought I really thought it was Patrick Mahomes. Really? Okay. And I thought that I thought Nick Bolton had a chance. Yeah, he had a chance. Let Boston Scott take one more step on that play that was ruled an incomplete pass. If that's a fumble and that's a touchdown, then I'm giving it to Nick Bolton. There's a scoop of score. But so I'm giving it, but my MVP award, which is obviously been the MVP for the Super Bowl has already been awarded to Patrick Mahomes. The reason why I would have given it to him, it's more of a more of an offensive award in terms of the entire Kansas City offense, but he was the engine that made things go. Although, you let Pacheco score again and we're having an interesting conversation. Absolutely, we'll Pacheco. I mean, goodness, gracious. I thought mouths Sanders would be the difference in the running game and he only had 17 yards, I believe 6 or 7 carries. So I don't know what happened there, whether that's coaching or play calling or just the flow of the game or Jalen so hot, let's just keep it in hurts his hands. And I get that, but you still got to run the football Andy Reid and him knew they had to run the football and put up a buck 58 on the board against them and outrushed them and normally in the Super Bowl, whoever rushes the bulb better wins the game and they out rushed him I think by like 40 to 50 yards. It wasn't close. So you're right, Pacheco could have been. And I understand why mahomes won it. It's just weird to me when I see a guy win an MVP that threw 482 yards. You know what I'm saying? I understand 21 and 24 and three touchdowns. Okay, that looks good. But it's still a 182 yards, guys. It's really short as dink and dunk is short fills their working with their. I don't know if there was a big play I can remember where there was that big throw that he made. And I know people can say, oh, you're hating. No, I'm just looking at the game, bro the guy, the guy in the green Jersey with the one. That was the best player in the field for the game. Even with his mistake with the ball hitting his die. Yeah, I'd say my homes did not have any a plus plus level plays, but he had a ton of B plus plays. Yeah. Right. Yeah. And

"To expand it to most touchdowns, scored in a Super Bowl game by players that weren't on the team the year before. Then you include that venue. Tony in that subset. The bucks at Gronk and Antonio Brown score touchdowns in the Super Bowl. That's two different guys. Tony, Pacheco, sky more at this point last year, not on the chiefs. They all scored touchdowns for the chief. The chiefs in the Super Bowl. Good one. Because Kelsey scored one and Nick Bolton scored one, those are the 5 scores. 5 touchdowns. With the butker kick. To win it. Kelsey, old school, Nick Bolton, 2021 draft choice. Sky more 2022 draft choice Isaiah Pacheco 2022 draft choice, kadarius Tony, midseason pickup. Bolton almost had two touchdowns. He sure did. Unreal. Oh, and they still have my homes. Oh, right, him. He's good. Under contract for a long ass time. By the way, as we stated at the time, that contract deal. No doubt, and just that I keep going back to that tweet from Deandre Hopkins. Where he's Googly eyeing saying mahomes is different. I'm talent everybody. Man. People are going to want to flock if MVS gets a ring in one year and juju gets a ring in one year. He thinks the same thing. Same thing. But then who gets cut, so you don't bring juju back and you bring it up. I don't know. Obviously you have to acquire him and he makes a lot of money. Yeah, it's a trade situation. And their point of view could be, well, we took juju and he fit and we took MBS. He fit and he's put them together. It's not as much as Deandre Hopkins. Why do we need him? I mean, veach can take that approach. Why not? The ground pick? For D hop? Less than he was just a two when he was amazing. And you could say that Bill O'Brien didn't get the market value for him, but I would push back to say it was a two and he was great. And he was younger. Now he's older and great or not as great. And people are going to want to play for what Jalen hurts too, by the way. And speaking of guys that just got added, you know applied for reinstatement today. You've been talking about him quite a bit later. Calvin Ridley. Yes, indeed. It's showing up in Jacksonville to add to that offense where zay Jones went nuts and Christian Kirk proved to everybody that the Jaguars didn't overspend on him. Presuming he does get reinstated. Hopefully should. Yeah, because it's an indefinite it was at least one year. But think about that, rich. Think about that Jags offense, Ridley Kirk, ATN, angram. They're building something. People are going to want to play with them as well. What happens when you win? No state tax to. Hour three, top 5 Derek Carr sponsored Nate burleson.

"So much fun guys with Henry Winkler. We're on fire. You know how I know we're on fire? How's that? I just booked a guest in studio for tomorrow. Liz doesn't even know about it yet, but don't worry, Liz, I know that we've got Ken Marino our three. Our second hour guest will be out in time. Oh, I gotta tell us. Sure. Okay. 99 year program. Number one of your heart just texting me. I'm in LA. I'm like, okay, Warren, you want to come in here? We will. She is not fishing. He's in Los Angeles. Oh my goodness. SAP will be here. Tomorrow. Hour two. Hour two. Just here. Right here. Wow. Oh, he's doing stuff. He'll tell you what he's doing. I don't want to speak for him. And you know when saps here because he'll literally just walk from the back and come right in. Literally coming down and oh my God. Do you know what he's going to he will probably the word eviscerate. He will eventually Smith Schuster. For tweeting about the way that he did. Oh, he also has thoughts about the bears. About the bears doing what? He thinks they're trading fields. Great. I don't think they're going to do that. One thing I want to ask you, rich about that situation, Justin Fields was drafted by a prior, right? So maybe that's the only thing I can think of that. Well, maybe Ryan pulls once his own guy, maybe that's the only reason I can think of it. His own guy. But that doesn't mean that they can't inherit another guy because I'd imagine the mccaskey family when they interviewed both those guys saying what's your plan for Justin Fields. Around the mccaskey family, this past weekend. See, know something? All I know is when named Justin Fields was mentioned, their faces lit up. Yeah. So they can't go from drafting them, seeing them meeting them, loving them, and then they hire a new GM and a new coach. You don't think they got hired because of their plan for Justin Fields? That's why I don't understand this whole thing that all of a sudden they're around him for a year, maybe, and they're like, yeah, we don't like him so much anymore. Let's go ahead and hit the reset button with a guy who's never done it before. Despite somebody who's been in our world in our orbit for two years and our current system for one and in the current system for one has lit it up, he was terrific last year under the circumstance. Everybody thought he was a sitting duck and he doesn't have any weapons. And instead the run game was terrific and fields was the king of that run game. Do you see Jim irsay had a little bit of fun? Because I guess he saw the mock draft from him from McDonald's that had the colts trading up to one four Bryce young. Yeah, I saw this. And he tweeted out a photograph of himself on a bear in the Lincoln park zoo in Chicago as a kid. He said, my relationship with the Chicago Bears goes back more than 60 years. Dot, dot, dot. So right there. I mean, NFL Twitter. NFL Twitter the last four hours is the NBA. I love it. Season never stops, right? Is that the tag line? I might have to get back on Twitter. He's never read. Did you just go on the rich eyes? Yeah, that's what I do. Just get at two jiggy two, just to get a new one. But then all my followers, man, all the people that I've cultivated who followed me, they don't come back. Follow me Ellen DeGeneres followed me. Fell in Lawrence, Kansas. You're here on the rich eisen show. What's up, Phil? Hey, thanks for taking my call. You guys are awesome. Thanks for watching. Let's talk about the chiefs briefly and how tired we're going to get at the chiefs. And first, there's a story here about the NFL draft that I heard several weeks ago. Seeing whether you guys can confirm this. In 2016, the chiefs were trying to move up to take a quarterback. This is the year before they took my homes. They were unable to move up the quarterback they were trying to get was Paxton Lynn, she got drafted by the Broncos. The chiefs moved down in that draft and picked up Chris Jones. And because of that, they were then able to move up in the 17 draft and take Patrick mahomes, which just shows you what the draft can become when you don't get what you want. You can lock into something. But beyond that, I think we're going to get tired of the chiefs pretty soon because their last draft, they got guys that are going to be all pros for years. Nick Bolton is a tackle machine, he's only 22 Trent macduffie is a cover machine. He's only 21 and they've got all these guys on contracts beyond the fact that the Giants just gave away his Tony, who we have, we have control over the next three years. By the way, the tyreek hill trade, I think in a couple of years, we're going to wonder whether who was the trade that the cowboys made that gave them three partial walker. We're going to compare that to the Herschel Walker trade at some point. I would think. Fell a fascinating conversation, man. And thank you for the call. Call back again. I was a great stuff. I made a mental note driving down here. I got to reach out to the NFL network. Last Super Bowl team to have two rookies score touchdown in it. I've got a wonder that's such a rarity. Isaiah Pacheco and Skywalker score touchdowns.

"He held, he got caught holding, and it happens sometimes, and it's the way it goes. I can get, I can get on board with the backlash. It's a tough call at any point in a game like that. I'd have to go back and really watch and see, okay, did we have more physical play down field? Did we have some other plays that got, you know, sort of let go and no flag and all that stuff. I don't really know. But I think the backlash is just more of a result of people who are looking for the huge finish and looking for the eagles to have a chance to mount a drive and have some drama down the stretch and obviously that kind of that suck the air out of that balloon at that point. I guess, I mean, if you're the eagles though, you gave the chiefs the ball back with basically 6 minutes in a full suite of timeouts, like the time to the time to fix that was a long time before. That play happened. I mean, don't let Patrick Mahomes run for 35 yards. And I think mahomes referenced it at some point in the postgame locker room. Not just beat Hassan Reddick in a foot race, but like demolish Hassan Reddick in a footprint. And nothing against Assad Reddick, but you can't let that happen. And so, you know, I get it, I understand it. There's little you can do when the script writers put the finishing touches on the script like you have to just abide by that. Obviously, or else, everyone gets revealed that the Oz behind the curtain with the NFL. And who wants to do that? Tinfoil at time, Gary. Gotta have your pratfalls down, especially with two weeks to prepare. You got to do it. And I thought this was fair, right? That what wasn't as egregious as a whole, it did allow Bradbury to stay on the wide receiver, right? I mean, he used the hold. The Jersey tug to position himself in a way that allowed him to stay relevant on the route. And so, you know, and if you're an official like some of the stuff that these guys have done, I thought there was no excuse for this year and especially in the playoffs that was just absolutely embarrassing. But this was one of those times where I'm like, okay, let's remember what it's like to be on the field as an official. Let's remember what it's like to have a split second go by. And you turn around and you're looking at the play and a guy literally is grabbing a Jersey. In the biggest moment of the NFL season. And you can argue that there is kind of phantom me holding last year in the Super Bowl too, right? In a similar spot. But if your defensive back, you just can't put your hand in that position at that point, you know? Yeah. Yep. Or you just hope you grab for the Jersey and you kind of miss it. And it doesn't reveal itself as a tug. But yeah, again, you'd have to kind of look over the entire game and see, okay, is this kind of stuff where guys getting away with it, but Bradbury did not seem surprised that he was flagged and even on the field. He didn't really have a big reaction. None of the eagles really did. But yeah, I don't know. Again, I think people are just kind of bummed that they didn't get their big exciting finish at this point. To be clear though, I do think the eagles played a one and a half percent better game than the chiefs in this one. But two evenly matched teams, they just had more weirdo plays go against them than go for them. They got the Harrison butker miss early. That's a weird play that has nothing to do with your team or your performance. It's just a kicker. Don't say kick and the other team is set on a three points, but the hertz fumble was obviously the big one. Nick Bolton scoop and score, that was a team that didn't turn the ball over. It's an offense that's really not going to put the ball in danger and you just get this super fluky play, not only turning it over, but giving up a touchdown at that point. So it's a free 7 points of your opponent. And then obviously the long kadarius Tony punt return was a huge play at that point. Just a bad line drive punt. And the chief sky makes a play. Yeah. There's a couple things to unpack there, I think. So you take the Harrison bucker miss and then let's say that you take. Let's say you take that off the board and then you take the touchdown off the board, you're essentially the Nick Bolton touchdown. You're essentially having mahomes driving at the end of the game and instead of needing a field goal to win, they need to touch down to they need a touchdown to win. Because they would have gotten the field goal earlier in the game and not cut. So they would have been down four, right? I think they're scoring. At that point. I would challenge an eagles fan to disagree with me at that point because their defense was on ice skates at that point in the game. The only counter that I have to you Gary is, again, I mean, I was really somewhat flummoxed by the eagles defensive game plan. I thought gannon called a good game. I don't think it was a bad game by any stretch, but to allow yourself to be manipulated. There were three wide open touchdowns, like wide open posterized style touchdowns. Travis Kelce's first one, when he gets ice out on CJ Gardner Johnson and just pulls the out and up. And you know, if you zoom back and we eventually found a way to see this in the press box, but valdes scantling is inside and he sort of he runs this route that basically targets the deep safety, right? So he's preventing the deep safety from coming down and helping CJ Gardner Johnson over the top, which would, but it would have been tough on the deep safety no matter what. There wasn't a lot of physicality with him at the line of scrimmage. I just thought, and maybe that maybe teams have tried and failed that. I don't know. Maybe that's maybe I'm suggesting something that's old hat. But I just thought that they allowed him to really dominate early in the game. And he had a couple wide open catches that helped achieves move the ball and sort of stay relevant while the eagles were getting out their best stuff. Yeah, I mean, they got them free releases through motion. They also, I think it was apps on the touchdown, not Gardner Johnson, but they dictated that matchup. Which, yeah, that's in offense out scheming a defense at that point. And look, I think it kind of happened on the other side too. The one, the one thing I'll say about the chief defense, I thought they did a really nice job against the sort of read option type stuff. I thought Nick Bolton played a really good game. They were ready for that. I wasn't just after watching one of the eagles did to the forty-niners linebackers last week. And Nick Bolton kind of similarly to Dre greenlaw being a relatively short linebacker and maybe not having the best line of vision into the backfield on some of this stuff. I thought it was going to be an issue. All game for the chiefs, but it really wasn't. They were doing a lot of squeeze and scrape type stuff with the linebackers and the eagles kind of just stopped. They went away from it. But part of the reason I'm away from it is they started going empty and just running Jalen hurts on designed runs out of that. And that was working really well. And the chiefs didn't really have an answer. And as we've seen all year, the eagles do this as a four down offense in areas where other teams don't. And you get the butt pushing stuff on short yardage and that continues to be both

"Now streaming on paramount plus, along with beavis and butt head, they came back too. All right, we are taping this part of the podcast. It is afternoon Thursday. Before the rams bills game. The king of the let's go party is here. My man, Peter schrager, from the NFL network and from Fox, give it to me. Let's go. We are here, dude. We made it. We made it and we have the same Super Bowl pick. You told me to watch your Super Bowl pick this morning on good morning football. And I'm like, cool. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who has this pick. Everyone's taking the bills. You did a whole thing on the show. A Montage of like pretending Tom Brady took the bills. Just like everybody in the plan is taking the bills. I'm like, I'm so fired up. I love the chiefs. I've already said that on this pod. And over the last week or so I talked about something in the packers. We'll get in all the case. And I'm like, I got cheaps over packers in the Super Bowl. I haven't seen that in a lot of places. I'm excited. And then I'm watching you. You have the packers. You say the chiefs and you get to the part where you're going to rip off your shirt. And I'm like, this is great. He's going to rip off and it's going to be like an AJ dilling Jersey. Nope, it was the chief Jersey. We had the same pick. Is this good or bad? I think this is a great thing. If it was everyone else in the world picking them, I would say, I don't know, it seems kind of chalk, but chiefs and packers doesn't seem like an outlandish pick to your point. It's you, me, and I got a tweet from musician, come to my window, Melissa Etheridge saying, hey, I have the chiefs over the packers too. So it's you me and etheridge, baby. The big three. It's 50 to one on FanDuel. Which, pretty good odds, because there's been so much action on the bills and we've been talking about this in my part for the last two weeks. To me, and people go, you know, especially our buddy Kyle Brandt, people are like, oh, you guys are just hating on the bills. I'm not hating on the bills. I just don't understand why we have gone chalk on the bills to win the AFC that this is now a foregone conclusion. In my mind, there's someone between 8 and ten teams that I think have a chance at the Super Bowl this year. I think 5 of them are AFC. You get the bills. I'm throwing the ravens in there. Sure. The Bengals, chiefs, chargers. Vegas no, but Vegas kind of lingering and the Broncos lingering. So we'll give them in the lingering spot. And then on the other side, packers bucks, rams, niners. So I'm already at ten. And then I got the eagles and the Vikings kind of lingering. So you can go between 8 and 12. My point is, the bills are not head and shoulders above any of those teams I just mentioned. Let's move on because I have no idea what's going to happen tonight. Our point is that this is, I think, more wide open, especially in the AFC, then I think people are giving their credit for it. For some reason, it's either bills and it's people, people seem to like the niners a little. There's some packer stuff, some eagle stuff, I just think it's wide open, and I think you can pick apart every team. Let's talk about the chiefs and the packers and why we like them. I've made the case in the chiefs. You are Bolton Jersey today. Explain the Bolton Jersey. Nick Bolton is the second year player I to get it. Specifically made for me. I called the chiefs team shop and I talked to my guy in the equipment room like we got to get a Nick Bolton, so he changed from 54 to 32. Second year linebacker. I think he's going to be an absolute sensation this year. And with Bolton and car laughed this, the first year pass rusher. They have two of the best young defensive players to watch this season. You add that to Clark and you add that to Chris Jones. You got a good core four. Now everyone thinks, well, they lost the honey badger, or they lost, you know, they got rid of guys that might have been weak spots for them last year and upgraded at all of those positions. Whether it be adding car lattice on one edge or getting Justin Reed at the safety spot who is a very talented player, the chiefs are not going to be the chiefs that we saw the last few years where they score a bunch of points and you just hold on to your pants and hope that Daniel Sorensen doesn't give up a bomb. Right. This is going to be a different team. And last year, the defense did pick up. I went with the Nick Bolton Jersey. Second year guy at Missouri because I think this is a defensive led team. This is a team that you don't want to face in arrowhead with that defense. And I think the defense can be greatly improved in the offense is going to be just fine without tyreek hill. And I don't want to make the same mahomes points that I've made the last couple of podcasts, but I like him coming off a disappointing year. I like him kind of getting lost in the shuffle a little bit with Josh Allen and Herbert and people like that. And

"Obviously Brady responsible a lot of them. Seattle 94, Green Bay 92, Pittsburgh 91, New Orleans 90. There's the only teams that have averaged ten wins for the last 9 years. KC, the tyreek thing, I think, through people off, Kyle turned the TikTok camera. Not the real camera. Should I turn a little TikTok camera? TikTok. I think there's a lot of curry 2022 warriors parallels here. Talk about where it's like, in a way, this team makes more sense for mahomes, the same way that 22 warriors just building it around him and just all these guys who knew how to play with them. I love tyreek hill for the chiefs. I respected him. I feared him. I thought he was one of the most incredible deep threats. He terrified teams. He tilted the field. He won games. He won. He won games, the Chargers. He won that game. I'm also a results guy. You know, he played three playoff games last year at 285 yards, three touchdowns. In the regular season. 1239 yards, 9 touchdowns. You can replace 80 to 90% of those stats. If I'm the chiefs, I would much rather have the money in the offensive line and protect my homes and give him time and I can find receivers. We're in like the receiver boom of all time right now. Confine receivers and running backs all over the place. And I think that's I just like how they tilted the structure how now they're going to run the ball more, which is going to make it a little easier for mahomes to find seams downfield versus the way it was before. And I'm in. I think this is the best team. The communication lines in that building are wide open. So anyone can walk into anyone's office and it's a very open place and I will tell you that Patrick Mahomes was not shocked when they traded tyreek hill. Patrick Mahomes was not finding it out from a tweet. Patrick Mahomes does not finding it out from a bottom line ticker. So I assume there were conversations had. And like, hey, here's our plan. Just so you know, this is what we're doing. And I'm sure mahomes is like, gosh, that sucks. Yeah, but what did they find? We'll be okay. We'll figure it out. And they may regret trading him, but to get all those first round picks to add, I mean, we talked about Nick Bolton, this car laughed this, this rookie who is, you know, he was playing water polo in Greece less than a decade ago. He's a first round pick out of Purdue. He's been amazing this training campaign. He's a rookie. Well, that's another, that's another thing for the case with them. You have that one good draft heading into the next season on top of the talent. It seems like they crushed a draft. They crushed your app every year and Brett veach runs one of the best front offices. And it's like, you add car lap this, you add mcduffie, the corner that they got out of Washington, they've got players, Pacheco is going to play a role. Sky Moore is going to play a role. And my whole point is, this is not one of those deals where mahomes is going to feel like his hand is tied behind his back. They love tyreek and to a man. Everyone in that building wishes nothing but the best for him. But he wanted $30 million. They weren't going to be paying him that. And he turns 30 soon. They weren't going to, you know, and you could argue that they're cutting their losses at the absolute perfect. It's tyreek hill going to be better this year. I don't know. I would imagine it's a long shot to say he's going to put up better numbers and be a better player with the Miami Dolphins. What's with the chiefs? Okay. We're aligned. There are ten to one win the Super Bowl in FanDuel. They are plus 6 50 to be the number one seed in the AFC. Which I thought was a fun bet and they are plus one 55 to win the division. Which I think the ads may be dropped, maybe that's like plus one 50 now, but to me, it's Denver, the Chargers and we might as well do the Chargers now. Everyone's in on the charger. Everyone's. Does that scare you? Is your hand shaking as you pass the flag? What do you do? What do you do with the Chargers? Colin coward, I was watching his show. He has the Chargers of the third team out of 32 in the NFL. Chargers have made the playoffs once in the last 9 years. Justin Herbert for all his wonder and his greatness has not been to the playoffs yet. This is year three. They added players on defense. They have a very good team, but I'm going to wait and see. I'm not putting all my chips on the Chargers and I'm not saying I don't believe in staley or I'm not saying that. I don't think that they can get it done in a big spot because Herbert hasn't done it before. Herbert can do it. He will do it. Herbert was amazing in that week 18 game against the Raiders. They're 17 times in the final drive and got them to overtime. Herbert, not a problem. But that's a funky thing, man. And to suddenly crown the Chargers before they can even get over the hump, just based on Khalil Mack and JC Jackson a couple acquisitions. I'm not going there yet. I haven't seen it in the big spots yet and they lose too many games and too many weird ways for me to suddenly say the bad juju's gone. And the coaching thing last year was a real issue for them. First of all, stale is a defensive coach. The defensive way they were getting torched for most of the season. Not a great sign. But then the end of the game stuff, the fourth and short stuff was alarming. I actually think that team probably cost themselves more success. Than any other team last year, there may be Minnesota. Well, we celebrated that stuff early. Like they beat KC in KC and we were like, holy shit, I love this code. And then they play the Chargers on a Thursday night game. I play the chiefs on Thursday night game late in the season. I remember, we were on $1 million picks all in on the chiefs for big. And the charter skip going for it on fourth and weren't converting and we were like, we're alive. And then mahomes will take care of it from there. I've spoken to Brandon a bit this off season, like he knows he's a defensive coach and what happened last year on defense was unacceptable. And that's part of the reason they went not only got JC Jackson, who's excellent and Khalil Mack, who's finally healthy, but also this Sebastian Joseph day, the big man inside from the rams who, not a huge name, and played next to Aaron Donald, but it's a really good player. They believe that they've addressed it on paper, but I gotta see it.

"The smartest way to hire. All right, news segment, starting with the chiefs. That is my number one ride or die, plant my flag team. I think with the chiefs, you either have to say they're going to be better, they're going to be worse, but you can't say they're the same because they're not because tyreek hill is no longer on the team. And they're shifting what they want to do offensively. At least a little bit. I think from by all accounts, they got pretty spooked by how defenses were just playing them last year and just kind of daring them to run the ball and they weren't really equipped to run the ball that hill couldn't really black. Kelsey can't really block and they just Cincinnati and a couple other teams. Definitely stumbled on some sort of recipe that they have now fixed. I am planning my flag on the KC will be better. Real estate. I said this on Tuesday's pod. They offensive line, which basically it's the first full year together. But for the most part there together, they bested heavily in it. They struck oil with their center that they drafted. And they've just created they have the best offensive line in the league or the second best offensive line. And for me, mahomes plus time is the scariest thing in the league. And I don't really care who has receivers are because if he has three to 5 to 7 seconds to throw every play, guys are going to get open and he's going to find them. And there's also a little bit of that whole just incredibly embarrassing playoff loss. There's some borough Herbert buzz. Josh Allen. The little Josh Allen, there's a little bit of the rocky four running around on the mountain. He's trying to see how high you can go with the parka on to the mahomes season. I'm all in. I'm going to pick them to win the Super Bowl and that's my team. This is the stuff that Kansas City Chiefs fans have been looking for because Bill. I'm in the same boat. We never talked about this. I almost don't like the fact that you did all that spiel because that would have been my spiel. And I'll go even further with it. Mahomes is a different cat. And I've gotten to know him a little bit. And this off season I spent some time in Kansas City and this guy watches everything. And when I say watches everything, I mean, he watches what people say, he watches how teams are reacting, how other teams are responding, but he's taking notes on all this. And there have been analysts out there who have said that the chiefs are going to be the fourth place team in the AFC west. There are others who have crowned Josh Allen as already, you know, the top player in the league and mahones has been sitting back there and waiting. And watching. And this room of wide receivers is not tyreek hill. It is a variety of guys. And juju, prior to the injury, he'll be fine, has looked amazing as a number one guy. Marques valdes scantling, who quite frankly, Rogers lost trust in because he wasn't running the right route at times. He wasn't always there. Mahomes, different type of person in the huddle. I think that's going to work. Skye Moore, The Rookie, excellent so far. Justin Watson out of the University of Pennsylvania who came fantasy. Justin Watson, who wears number 84, has been a beast in practice. And then you add all the different big men at tight end with Kelsey and fortson and Noah gray. There are weapons and Pacheco. Number ten, the new running back from Rutgers, like awesome. This is the type of team that everyone's going to discount and say, well, is this the year they fall off a cliff and mulholland isn't going to let it happen. And I trust mahomes and Andy Reid. And maybe I trust them to a fault, but all the reasons you said, and they might have the best young defenders in Nick Bolton at number 54 who's right there playing the linebacker spot. Their second round pick last year. And they believe that they've got in luxurious need and 32, the safety, they've got a great young defensive backfield. You know, everyone's reaction was, how could you not sign the honey badger? There's a reason they don't resign the honey badger. They think about Frank Clark, come back here. Frank Clark, come back here, Chris Jones. Chris Jones playing in the right spot for the whole season? I'm telling you, they are, they are very bullish on themselves in that building, but not in a boastful way, but just that yeah, you guys talk about tyreek all you want and good luck to tyreek, but all that stuff, they've been stacking the chips. And I feel like you've seen it in the preseason games. They're lights out. I know it's just preseason, but mahomes doesn't have to play in these games. I think there's a bit of him and Andy wanting to show the world, all right. All right, doubt us. You should doubt us. Go for it. And I'm not going to be one of those people to do that. Who's had the most wins the last 9 years? Chiefs? 103.

"Forth, Dallas, Baltimore 6th. I think we would have picked those 6 teams in some order, right? Yeah. Like nobody's missing from that party. I think those are the 6 teams that have the best chance to win the title right now. Yeah, and you and I talked about it and you and Sal talked about it on Monday, like you picked those 8 before the season. And it's kind of interchangeable with 7 or 8. I don't think anyone had the Cardinals in that 8. So you're reluctant to buy in on them after 6 weeks. But I think I do think we had two NMC west teams. We did, and we assumed it was the rams and the second one, I think we would have more Seattle San Francisco, right? So Arizona grabbed it. Yeah, and I think even around the league, people still are like, well, let's see how Kyler's holding up in November and December. As in like, he's going to get banged around at some point. And then you're going to see that thing that he does with the shoulder. And you're like, wait a second. Until then, you got to give him the credit where credit's due. And I will say, I was one of the I rolled my eyes at the contract they gave JJ watt. I thought big money for guys like James Conner and AJ green felt like not desperate, but it felt like all right, we're just going to collect a bunch of names because in that franchise's history, there is a visual of Emmitt Smith in a cardinal's Jersey. There is a visual of Edwin James in a Cardinals Jersey. It's been that place where players go to wrap up their career on that final chapter. And yet, JJ watt is healthy. He looks good. AJ green is healthy. He looks good. Those guys are actually playing will. And yet at the same time, I could see us in early December being like, man, remember the Cardinals when they were 6 and O and then JJ watt got hurt and kind of got banged around and this season. I know they only added one week. But it feels like a substantial week. It really throws off my clock with this stuff. When you think like, all right, we're 6 weeks in. It's still 11 more. We have 11 ago. Plus, plus four playoff rounds. With more teams in the playoffs and it's such a long haul. That's why I'm trying to not get too crazy about the Pats being tuned for. They're gonna be three and four by Sunday Night. And at the same time, you look at the card 6 and out. Who knows? They could be 8 and four in 6 weeks or whatever. I don't feel like there's a lot of crossovers to me. The team that I think Seattle I think is at a real danger point because of we know we're not getting Wilson back anytime soon. And we know that defense has real issues. And I just look at them, and solac and I talked about Jamal Adams on Tuesday how solac had this great comparison about, could he be the Ben Simmons of football where you have to like figure out a specific way to use him or he can't succeed. Seattle is a team to me that I'm not sure what they do well. And it might just not be their year, and then you throw in schedule conference, things like that. Is there another team like that for you that we're giving the benefit of the doubt, but maybe we shouldn't? Because Seattle would be my pick. Yeah. Seattle obviously. And I think a lot of people would point to the chiefs and say they don't play. But then I look at the last 16 minutes of that chief's Washington game and Bill, we had them in our teaser. It was like, oh, something clicked like three minutes left in the third quarter. Mahomes hits tyreek hill in the back of the end zone and it makes it 1710. They win that game 31 ten running away. I felt like it would have been a hundred. So that's open ended right now. Yeah, the defense still can't stop anyone, but the chiefs, it looks like they got their groove and it came in the 6th week of the season. 45 minutes into the game, maybe that's what it took for the Super Bowl hangover to watch or maybe not. Maybe they just aren't who we thought they were. Well, think about, think about this with the chief stuff. Because they are the classic we're gonna feel dumb in four weeks, probably. Of course. Played one of the worst one of the hardest schedule so far. That's a bad luck. They had two games they should have won and they just kind of screwed up. They 14 turnovers, and I've watched a lot of the chiefs this year. 5 or 6 of them were just kind of dumb. They were kind of like bad luck turnovers. So they're -8 with turnovers, but then Jesus, you look at their offensive stats. It still amazing. They have they had their first and first downs. They're like 61% on third down. Now, every time they have a third down, they have three and 5 chance of getting it. Plus the big plays, and I honestly think Daryl Williams is better for them than Edward solaris. A good last week. I think he's more reliable. And I just could see, you know, we could pivot to that chief's Titans game if you want. They're four and a half. I think it's probably a stay away, but I want to talk it out because you can make a case that Titan's defense, which is not good and they've already lost another person. And are they ever going to stop the chiefs? Like forget, I know Derek Henry. Let's give them let's give them 240 rushing yards. And let's give them two long touchdowns. Does it even matter? Are the chiefs just going to score every time they have the ball? Yeah, and they lost. You mentioned they lost Caleb Farley who was finally on the field and then they lost Christian Fulton who is the second year corner. So that's your two corners. They're defensive line has not looked good. And you know, if buffalo doesn't they have the emotional Monday night win. Gotta get back to that end. It was 6 days before this game. The problem that I have with picking Casey or even touching this game is that it is in Tennessee. And it's like, if this was an arrowhead coming off that road win, it's like, all right, let's go. I would say I think both teams are going to score points. And I can see this one being an absolute shootout bonanza, one of the fun ones of the weekend in a week that there's really not many good games. This to me at least is one where we get two big offenses. I think the chiefs could win, but I also could see the Titans going score for score for score with Kansas City because Kansas City can not stop anyone. They still can't. Well, we have on fando. There's a bet you could bet on the chiefs over 31 points. And minus one 16. Let's go. That's our first one. Put it in the books. Yeah, it's a safe one because we're not saying they're going to stop the Titans. We're just saying they're going to score probably every time they get the ball. And even if you say they have bad luck on a touchdown that turns into a field goal and they lose four points there, maybe they have a turnover in the red zone. They're going to have the ball 7 times 8 times and they score a touchdowns. They're not messing around. You're like, they're scoring touchdowns with this score. And could you see, I don't know, four touchdowns to field goals seems realistic. So I left the 31. Yeah, and it's like tyreek hill. He's with devonte. They lead the league in receptions. It's not like they're not getting their guys involved. Kelsey's been great. They have their stars. They still put up points. They don't punt the ball. I like Kansas City to score. Derek Henry related, they have had success against him now. He ran all over him in the regular season a couple of years ago, but in that AFC championship game when he was on that tear and he lit up the Patriots and he lit up the ravens and it was like, no one could stop him. They held him under 70 yards that game. And it's like, I don't know if that matters two years later. Their defense is even worse than it was that year. But I don't know. Maybe mentally, it's like we might get Chris Jones back. We have this Nick Bolton who had 9 tackles last week that maybe he can do something. Thornhill infer Sorensen, the mere knowledge that there are Henry was on a hot streak before. We got the best of him. We could do this again. Maybe that helps. It just even mentally. Well, I'll throw this to you. What happens if they that Josh Allen that incredible play when it seemed like he got the first down and they probably should have challenged it on third down? And then all of a sudden he did and all of a sudden it's fourth down,.

"Let's get it done snead. Yeah blitzing snead is always good. I they also got wild. Who had that whole issue. Quit the giants in the first round draft pick. Maybe there's a bit of reclamation project there. yeah it was interesting. They drafted nick bolton who was a linebacker and they will gay. Junior was like pretty good lex last year. And i think he's kind of like a making the leap guy that's position that they've struggled with now for a few years but it was interesting to me that they didn't focus like they didn't target the secondary instead. You said that the browns expect the browns offense to be really good and baker succeed. So just tell me why. I think that the offense is a simple offense from a quarterback standpoint and baker is though his accuracy. Numbers haven't been great. He's still has incredibly accurate incredibly strong arm. I think with the running attack is not going to get any worse. Simplified adding odell beckham. Junior i think allowing baker mayfield. I have clear specific reads. I don't think he can fail in that way when you ask when baker struggles i think is when you ask him to drop back takeover and as long as they don't get in that situation of his defense is good enough for the course of the season to to make other offenses work and this running game is as good as we expect it to be. I think baker will. There'll be little pressure on baker like he's gonna put up big numbers i think in the first half or stand play actions and those sorts of things in hopefully for their sake. They don't get in a ton of situations where he has to make some big to score comeback in the fourth quarter. Like that's hard for any quarterback. And i think bakers like that second to top tier like just below the top tier which is really great. It's not most franchises. Don't have that in. And they have a starting quarterback there which is one. They've had in a long time. So i think he's going to succeed so year where he's going to be playing for his contract extension. Expect that he's gonna put up some impressive numbers in that. The browns will be pretty good. Yeah i agree. I just don't like see why the offense would be worse. Frankly sounds simplistic but again. Only argument is that people think. Oh beckham's present somehow is like doing in confusing and yeah. I just don't think that. I mean i still think so. I think it's a deep receiving group now. I think austin hooper should be better frankly based on past performance And then even behind him. That's a pretty deep tight end group. It's very deep running. Bruce by best your backsta league you know. Even behind chub and hunt you've got ernest johnson and dmitry felton. And then i guess to me the only issue would be if there is an injury on the offensive line right but as far as this particular matchup goes. Even if chris jones make some big disruptive plays and the linebackers are better. I still think from a talent perspective. The browns outmatch to me. Just the question is can they keep up because it's one thing to outmatch them. It's another to keep pace right with kansas city year after year. I think i i. I think i'm still city should win this. But i would not be surprised if it's very close. Yeah i agree and the thing about kansas city anytime. You have a great team. That's great year after year. For what is it three years now for them. I guess four of you. Go back to alex smith. They were pretty good then too. I think it's hard for those players not only for the players but for every week the coaches to like be on the top of their game for game planning and preparation because their eyes are on the playoffs. But when it's the season opener when it's prime time game think back to the ties when the chiefs struggle is rarely in those situations. Obviously the super bowl they were outmatched on the on the line but every other time they were in those kind of big time games that we all showed up to watch. They did that thing. And i think it's it's easier when you know you're getting ready for like those big game season openers. Eight o'clock thursday thursday. I mean this was not eight o'clock but throughout the season. You get a monday night. Thursday night you playoff game like those games. You seem to get the best chiefs when they struggle is when. It's like weird game and you totally. Sometimes they're they're like a cat playing with their food where you're like okay just eat it like and then all of a sudden this when home is rarely played the entire preseason were in the first the first two outings or outing i remember but anyways he look they look kinda this junked it destructed out of her mouth is anyways like him in hardman. Chemistry is really off and he was forcing the bottom and all of a sudden in week three. They're like turn it on fully operational battle station and it was like oh shit like i. I just think that's my only question with kansas city. Or are you gonna do cute stuff you know. Are you gonna do your thing all right. Let's take a quick break and let's talk about two more games that i think are very interesting. Gatorade knows there are many paths to greatness. How you get there is up to you sometimes. You gotta grinded out to get up early and put in the work. Even when you're not feeling one hundred sometimes take staying focused on a goal knowing where you want to be and they will have to put everything in to get their other times. You just need to dig deep and show some guts to be brave and never let anything stand in the way of what you can accomplish then. There are days where you just have to the gym and see some gains put in all the reps and gets stronger each day. Whatever path you take to greatness..

"To be stolen by cornell powell are then i'm gonna go with nick bolton eleven the i rated lightning bolt and just like the whole story about him. I liked the way he plays He's just an electric player. he's a tough hit arrows. Well he's hungry. I think that's the big thing for me with with with bolton. He's hungry to do well. And i think when the chiefs kind of They didn't bring back wilson. I think it was wilson. Yeah nick bolton has an opportunity. I think to really kind of Brick into this and looking at kind of depth shots and the woman he seems to be stopped just behind anthony hitchens. Yeah which You know if he gets his opportunity. I think i think if we have nick bolton really get junior as the linebackers i think that's going to be to- flying back to try and break through his awareness and just as approach the game i. It just seems well prepared. He seems like he could just literally slow into this team straight away. I really looking forward to what he can do. Isn't it is a big off season for mitch's mad as a training camp for him because potentially he's only training camp without the agents. Sorry before he has to take over the full time himself. The chase wouldn't surprise me if they ended up restructuring. Anthony hitchens to get him. Keep them in building for another year or site if they done is a really good chance. This is his first and only time with him zanies to take as much information. He can't because willie guy he really hasn't had the opportunity for the lack of training camp last know the lack of them off season in in person workouts lost yes. So if you're the chiefs young linebackers you need to digest as much information as you possibly can. Because as you said in a year's time two years time these two guys could be expected to lead the cheese linebackers and side. There is added pressure on them to to perform. Why especially in the case of willie gay because witty. Gail carries the expectation like nick boat. Mu is time about being a second year. Second round linebacker. We didn't say low album in his first year he didn't make the failed Despite terrible play from the lines have been even really guys. Still saw a tiny amount of snaps. I them too big off season. Get snaps onto that about taking as much information as you can. Because in twelve months time we are going to lean on you heavily. Yeah and just an exciting prospect. I think with that. I just really can't wait to see bowling gay together and it's gonna be good. I count way. I want to white because you wanna wear are not want to see her now. I wanna see now. Hitchings obviously very accomplished linebacker as well. So you know you've obviously got to make sure that yeah like you said bolton's going to have to assess them view him taking everything that he's got right. I think it's time for that flew by the nick. Just yeah so you have some time flies having fun. I'm to the point now. Where i just skit words. I just sentences. I say the first word in this last day right. That's all we've got time for this week. Fortunately no show next week as thomas. Away is leaving alleged show. I can't do a show my own. Unfortunately but we do anything nice. I'm actually going away to a friend's for weekend in as people kansas city. We love this or we do a weekend. We do every year. We call it the mates up and we get together. We drink and we cook on the barbecue. And that's what we're doing from. "To move chris jones but not losing the ability to steal rush the passer from the inside which is really really important and what i think you'll steer on in those obvious passing downs like certain six or longer. I think you'll see chris. Jones kickback inside. I think you'll still see that. I think you'll see jared and chris jones inside with taco charlton probably on one side and frank clark on the other and that is had some damn good. Pass rush potential there. I mean talk oh charleston. I know people might laugh at this. He was good for the chiefs last year. When he was healthy he looked like he was potentially going to have remember that emmanuel ogbah season a couple years ago that the chiefs got About to see that out a taco charlton he had to saxon his seven. Healthy games for the chiefs. Along with four quarterback hits i. It's not out of the realm of possibility. You get a seven eight sack season this year from taco charlton. Yeah he was cool. That's spread the good. He was he was cool. As as a situational pass rushing it was cool. But you're gonna expect I mean he was the first round to you would like to see the guy that the dallas draft for. You would like to see that. But i mean he's going to certainly have opportunities especially a frankish. Now philip pig on frank clark and i really don't mean to that a little bit but but anyway he's gonna have. Opportunities cassettes is held. It may be his job especially in passing downs. But they should get better but overall but but your bigger point is like that has to be a point of emphasis. They can't just just give up as many touchdowns they were given up in the red zone. I mean and i and i think part part of that is lack of maybe focus at times and they and they the she's where the king of flip the switch on and off whenever we want to own a a play serious so we'll get stopped and we need to. They gotta they should have a little bit more focused so it doesn't look that bad. I think last year they had too many of the same guys. I i think we looked at that coming. I think we looked at it coming into the season as positive the whole back thing and i think it ended up being a little bit of a negative because all of those guys saw in twenty nineteen season when of course patrick mahomes comes back from the injury they ended up going to the super bowl winning against forty niners. They saw they could turn it on. All they needed was healthy pat and when it gets to the playoffs and then even in the playoffs once they turned it on in the second or third quarter. It was over game over. Nobody could play with them. I think they saw that and they felt like okay. We can turn this. We can turn the flip this switch whenever we need you couldn't they were good enough last year eventually. Got to the point where you can't just continue to do this every week and think you're going to get away with it and i think this year you have enough of an influx of new talent especially with a guy like jarran reed who i think is gonna comedian immediately. Come in as a starter. I think you've got some new blood on the roster. That's gonna help this team kind of pushed to that next direction. This d. line has to step up. I think the linebackers you mentioned. It should have better speed and better flow to go from sideline to sideline so yeah. It's hard to get worse. Yes especially from fifty three. But i i just as we said last year indefinitely this year they just got two good players over there to to suck to be not just bad right but all time bad right all time bad like they were in the red zone. They got good players to do that. Did you hear anthony hitchens by the way so. He lost a little weight. This offseason he's slimming. Now i'm not even gonna. I'm nugget on bill there. Gonna no tony twenty hitching a mean. He's showing up at me it. he's somebody he's about to take a walk out of that contract yet. letcher year. ninety. You got one more. You nick bulletins here for man. He's gotta learn he's gotta learn for a year. I i will say this okay. Something else something else. You need to learn how to take notes apparently because Anthony hitchens said. He's not a big note taker. Which kind of problematic you you kind of need to do that as a as an nfl football player but neither here nor there One thing. I did hear from bags today. That concerned me a little bit. He said that. Nick bolton willie gay or kind of swimming right now in the defense. I don't wanna hear that about young players. If there's one thing i like hearing it's what i heard from the offensive line coach earlier today. About crete humphry. He said he's really smart. He's taking the offense very quickly. he's he has an understanding of the offense right away man. I really would have liked to have heard that about nick. Bolton linebacker hear you. But i can at least accepted for him. I forgot what will a gay is swimming for. Willie you've been here. You know what that sounds like. Eh sounds like old that sounds like that. Sounds like good markets robinson oh demarcus robson who eat. Demarcus swam for about three and a half years. He could pick up that offense. He struggled like hailed to understand the often. So and willie gay is. He's going to be somebody you depend on so you hope you hope to god that he is able to get to get this together and and understand this because he's obviously got a lot of talent in flashes of so so he he better get it together. I can accept it from rookie. Not not bill. Gay he's one of their biggest swing players this year give. You're looking for guys that if they if they hit their potential this season It can change the trajectory of what the team's gonna be willing gays right up there. He he is the true. Modern linebacker runs a four five. Four six forty. He's super athletic. He plays downhill. He should be an every down linebacker for him. They drafted him to be that but if he's not we've got some issues linebacker once again this year and he's got.

"You're like, OK, Do any of these guys have to play well right away. For them to be successful. The answer's no. I mean, that's the edge that they have over Kansas City. Kansas City trade the first round pick Orlando Brown. They get their starting center create Humphrey and Round two. They get a starting linebacker Nick Bolton on then, later on, they get sort of like secondary pieces in the passing offense. Those guys probably have to play well for Kansas City, Tonto hit on the promise of being the Super Bowl favorite. You know, Buffalos have the greatest team up front, but they don't need Gregory restore carla fashion to play amazing football right away. They need them to kind of, you know to develop and and that I think the testaments of branded bean and the team that he's constructed that, you know none of these draft. You know, Asia Financial last year. Wasn't that great? You know, exact monsters. Okay. Gabriel Davis to the hit, but like they go one for three the first four rounds of the draft. And it doesn't matter because they built the team so soundly, you know that That's I think the one edge that they have over Kansas City is that we saw in the Super Bowl. Kansas City's an injury or two away. I think from having it be a lot. They're of the game for them, even though they are the best team in the league. You know, we will spend a lot of time between now and September and even did did some of this earlier today on our show, Eric talking about how much we should trust Josh Allen to stay at, you know, it doesn't have to be an M V p candidate every year. But, like just, you know, can you can you buy it that that he's arrived? I'm curious for your thoughts on that, like is Alan like is one great year. Enoughto feel like the bills have got a guy that should be at that close to that level, year in and year out now. I mean, I have a mixed like sort of answer because Josh Alan right now is 11 to 1 Day When the M V P He's second to Pat Mahomes, who's plus 4 50. Aaron Rodgers is 9 to 1. Josh Allen currently has better odds to win the M V P than Tom Brady does. Like I think people are a little bit overzealous about Josh. Alan. Um, you know, I'm not going to buy that. But do I buy him being the franchise quarterback is deserving of a long term deal. Yeah, I think so. I think I think you showed enough that he wasn't great at the rookie. He wasn't I think he was a little bit below average second year player, but he's gotten considerably better each year like the question is, he's probably going to regress. I don't think he's not going to continue to add five points to it. You know, completion percentage every year. The question is, how much can you deal with? Um You know, I think they've done a great job. Put players around him. I mean, but put Emmanuel Sanders who? You know, I think John Brown with one weak link in their receiving corps last year, they took care of that. Um, you know, they I think they've done a good job question is if he regretted how much can they handle on still be an elite team if he's a sick if he settles into like 65% completion You know, let's say 7.5 yards and attempt a 3 10 interceptions like Are they? Those were great numbers, but there's declined from last season. Does that mean do the bills need him to be as great as he was last year to be as successful as they want to be? That's the really good question that I I don't know if I have the answer to Eric, eager with us from pro football focus might show up in the bulldog here on WJR. Eric, should I am I right to be relieved for their sake that they didn't draft running back. I think so. I mean, like, the bills are really smart at this. I mean, they drafted. You know Zach Moss last year. Who's a tackle? Breaking machine, you know, wasn't quite as great as they wanted to be. But I think you've got some promise that drafted Devlin Singletary. Same thing Terrible combine scores. But a dog tackle breaker and I think when you have two running backs like that that are on your team, guys that you know, are hungry for Kerry's It allows you to do what they did in that divisional round against the Ravens, which I think they had one designed run in the first half of that game. And, you know, I think when when you have and I've always said that people have thought it was stupid, but I was like, you know if you put Adrian Peterson on the Packers In Roger's heyday. I think that slows the offense down. I think you let the offense come to you. Then you can use your players most efficiently, and I think a running back who's drafted that high forces you to run the football more and what you want to do When you run the football is you want to run the football when things are advantageous when the You know when people are so afraid of Allen throwing that they only put 56 guys in the box then by all means, run the ball. But But if you're running the ball just, you know, sort of make a guy happy, which I think you have to do When you draft a guy that high then I think it's close your offense down. I think it curbs the You know the development of a guy like Alan? Especially when you have two guys like a set of Boston. Singletary. They figure just fine. With Eric eager. So when you look at the A F C East, Eric what's the biggest threat to them now, after the changes that the other three teams made, and they were many I big, long term is actually the Jets. Um, I think short term it's the dolphin the the you know to Ah, had not. I mean, you look back, and it didn't look great in person last year, especially week 17 against the Bills team that had nothing to play for. But if you even drill down further, it looked horrible for him. Last year, he was really bad in places. You expect the quarterback and it conducive offense do really good. And now they get him will fuller. They get him? Jalen Waddle? You know another year in the system, I think We're the Dolphins have done a great job, too. I hold them in similar theme to the bills as far as team building and stuff. They You know it, too, was bad. We'll find out really quickly and if he's good will find out really quickly. I think it's a coin flip, but I'm really high on Zach Wilson. I think you know the Jets have been doldrums for so long, but you think about it. You know they got Robert Salah's a great coach. I think a great motivator player people want to play for. They got Corey Davis. They got Carl Lawson. They got Elijah Maurine the draft a swell as allies Rivera Tucker, like I think that they're building things that Could eventually make them a contender..

Former JAG Kevin Hardy is making the pick for Jacksonville here, and it is Hyson Campbell, a cornerback out of Georgia, you Makes a lot of sense. Now I happen to like Asante Samuel Junior a little bit more. But Still addressing the other side. The football after the Jags last night, added Trevor, Laurence and Travis said Tien and I actually like I get the assault on. Running backs how we view running backs in today's NFL but with a rookie quarterback. You know if Trevor Laurence gets into trouble He has a talented, running back to be able to dump the ball off to and a guy that he trusts. So I actually liked Travis City and going to the Jags with their second pick, but The Jags need everything. Right so they could have made any pick and be like that's an upgrade over what they have. What going? The defense sieve side. Of the football. With Tyson Campbell as far as the Broncos are concerned. I think Tonight. If you were displeased with their pick last night, I think you will be happier tonight. Cause I'm looking You look at Jeremiah Woo Suk or Amoah? You look at Kevin Jenkins, a tackle. We know that offensive line depth is something that the Broncos air going to address in this draft. A pass rusher. Doesn't seem like an immediate need, but perhaps a place they might go. Aziz Oh, Zhu Ari. Pass rusher out of Georgia. If I'm looking at where the Broncos are right now, and I don't think that Tyson Campbell is somebody that the Broncos are Too terribly worried, especially after their pick last night. But it just isn't it going to make it worse if Asante Samuel is on the board when the Broncos select tonight? Get it. It's hindsight, all that kind of stuff, but You had to believe. That someone like Asante Samuel? Was going to either go late first round early second round in in that scenario, wouldn't you have an opportunity to draft him? Asante Samuel is not the best corner in this draft. I grant you that You only get so many pics and you got to try to address his many needs as you can. Cause you've already been through free agency. There's nothing else you could do in free agency. How much better would the Broncos draft look through two rounds? If they went Justin Fields. And then Asante Samuel Jr. Or even like I said, How about Michael Parsons and Asante Samuel? Joe Vontae Williams when the running backs out of North Carolina. Do the Broncos go? That route and replace Phillip Lindsay. For those of you upset that they missed out on Michael Parsons, Nick Bolton of Missouri. How about another Missouri Tiger Drew La Calle Burrow and Nicky, be I think Overall, the Broncos are in a good spot here to address They need that they have. There's also Liam Aiken Bird, the tackle out of Notre Dame. It feels like this is where they're gonna address tackle, especially with Today would have been the opportunity to either address the get more depth that corner. Or get more depth at tackle. Now that you drafted a corner I feel like tackle is where they're going to go. George painting did say last night, there was a player that they were thinking about trading back into the first round for I hope it's Justin Fields, but of course he didn't And what difference would it make it this point, but there was a player that they hoped would drop that didn't drop far enough for them to make a move. But as you would expect them to say they believe that there are plenty of First round grades that are available in round two and having a top 10 pick in the Second round gives them some options. The Jets are picking right now. With their second pick. And Jets fans are happy because they got Zach Wilson a weapon. Elijah Moore, the wide receiver, out of all miss going to The New York Jets. At pick number 34. I think.

"Now that wings interesting Because you know to get a quarterback earlier So they switch over to defense you know in a niece to get to the quarterback of outside acquaint william so all right. Yeah get a speeder. Spe- linebackers. I believe he is also a edge rusher on hanley business way. That'd be a good move for them. Twenty four naji hairs. That's who i see. That both mock drafts agree. Running back out of alabama will go to pittsburgh steelers. Niger hairs now i mean. What does that mean for. James conner But he was a user. Push us a runner. A har- pretty good runner at that. So interesting to see that okay next. Both of them agree. That trayvon morag safety. i believe. He's top ranked safety coming. Tcu is gonna go to the jaguars that's their pick that they got from the rams make sense to me again. A team getting a quarterback at first including somebody on defense on opposite side. Cool number twenty six. Pick the cleveland browns. One has him has them selecting outside. Linebacker tosa zaven carlin's interesting enough. Okay the other is different. Delima not alabama christian More bar would. I'd have to go one guy. Just imagine him being online myles garrett. That's gonna be tough to beat right there number. Twenty seven the ravings Have either getting the edge rusher as as as as a jewelry for the draft. That already hasn't gone. They have them getting the receive rouda. Lsu terrence marshall junior. Now i don't think the other board has Gordon first round. But this do so. That'll be interesting to see who they actually go with. Number twenty eight belongs to the saints and we have them for the board. That doesn't have mardi going getting edge. Rusher zaven collins tulsa the out of there having been joe tyrant denied a washington So both agree that they need a little more help with the russian jordan guinea done self. Wants a louis stint They did lose trae. Hickerson and Own think is getting the To turn thirty two this year. We'll see it'll be interesting to see what what goes on once we get to this point. It's just like who. Are they getting a compliment. The team we know what's going on with drew brees retiring and stuff like that but you know pretty much twenty twenty to up to thirty two. Those ten pigs are like. What are they gonna use the complement those teams to get them to the next level to get especially twenty to thirty those teams to get them to the super bowl things that nature number twenty nine green bay packers with them last year selecting a quarterback even though they had an mvp. This year has quarterback one on draft house. Them select in defensive. Tackle out of washington levi on war zouqi. Sorry for butch your name buddy But that'll be interesting just you know. Don't they wanna get some. Were weapons do. Should they go for you. Know one of the top receivers in russia. Bateman on minnesota or even lash. More ole miss. A brian bex possibly aaron jones. You know they. They did resign them. But i mean. Don't get travis a it and so you know he can probably be wind Rotate you know help. Aaron jail air jones out a little bit there quite possibly The other draft have them getting off. Tackle jalen mayfield michigan. Sixty five six five three hundred nineteen pounds. Jalen may feel that I think i think air like that either way go. They should definitely get offense of weapons or someone to protect air number. Thirty buffalo bills a struggle trying to defeat the kansas city chiefs to get to super bowl so they definitely want. Somebody's gonna make a difference either. Someone that could get the quarterback in one of them having jalen phillips aid russia out of miami and opposite having them have someone in the backfield getting trace I'm sorry i cannot pronounce his name. running back out of clemson. I both to actually help get that done. To be honest. i have nothing negative to say about either choice. I'm interested in seeing either one okay Thirty first which belongs to the cheese. What kind of kansas city chiefs do what do they need to do. They need to improve off the line after you know get rid of people so one draft has them going to samuel cost me out of texas. Okay i think that's a good one. The other has going for a linebacker missouri. Nick bolton i do know nick bolton is and i think he's good. I just don't think you should go to can't see laughs. Who would help to add to the possible. Super bowl champion Yet again with. Tom brady and tampa bay. Well i have them one. Give you inside linebacker in jalen Jimmy davis kentucky which They just resigned. Levante david Doubtful other having them get an address. Or jason alway Penn state which we still haven't heard with the doing with the dobkin su So why possibly. I think those both drafts of some fair options. I'm interested to see. I know you got interested But like i said you don't don't count none of this to be honest if one of these a right in on my gosh we can talk about that but i seriously doubt it. Someone's gonna move expect to move. Somebody's gonna draft Expected draft at all. But it'll be interesting to watch which i'll be tune in april twenty ninth. All right. next. Monday i check it out on. Espn tom. It's been time. Who are quick break. We're gonna take a commercial break in into our lack segment. It's going to be a lot of fun. "He said a ton of injuries you you want to get that Nash and the building we've talked about the draft whether it's a guy like Micah Parsons or not. Like Nick Bolton who could possibly fill that role but I think again a twenty eight years old, I would give Bud Dupree of five year contract and I think he could totally feel that rule change is a good player. Milano is an interesting one to I want to go back to him because he has a coverage linebacker, right? You know, it gets the Run issues with Miss tackles angles things like that song. Maybe not the Patriots type in that regard, but they haven't had somebody that can really cover at the linebacker position like Matt Milano can in a while maybe since like gave me Collins was at his Peak or something like that, right? So Moana somebody dead. Really cover and I remember just watching him go out and man coverage against James White or Gronk, you know over the years here in New England and really being able to hold his own against those guys. So again some concern some holes in his game as an offender, but certainly a very very good pass coverage player, which is desperately what they need at that linebacker position. But let's talk about the first round guys. I mentioned we talked about Corners exact Patrick Stewart and Caleb Farley JC horn those guys are all possibilities are open on 5:00 other names here. Maybe there's another one know you really like Nick bolt and I think could be first-round players 4th streets if they want to go on this direction on defense quitting pay for Michigan's and obvious one person's obvious one saving Collins MiFi from Tulsa is another obvious one. I don't think that they're going to go this way, but it took the hell knows Jeremiah Wast Okumura from Notre Dame who is basically Kyle Duggar but whatever and then of course Christian bear more from Alabama, I think those Five Guys in the front seven. This is not a low wage. Class of defensive lineman it's a pretty good off-ball linebacker class though, but I think we all would run up to the podium with the card with kwity paye, right? I think everybody is on board with that one off but where do you stand on some of these other guys? I guess we can have the Parsons discussion about is off your concerns and maturity. But first you're in agreement with quitting paying at that guy's am I guess I mean how good was the Michigan the last couple of years and you're just building their team between Chase and Hooch a a no. No, no, don't forget that. You're getting the best like that would be a fine pic. I just think it's funny that as Michigan absolutely collapses. All of a sudden Bill Belichick goes all-in on them, but they're Michigan. They have good players. They thought you know, it just happened don't have the schematic coaching, you know coaching. That's right. Yeah, but we we don't as much as I'd love to have that conversation we can save that one for another time. Yeah, you know, I I just feel like we don't like those are all positions of depth, right? And you know again you talked about saving calls or Micah Parsons. You probably get Nick Bolton it at what are they picking 45th home, for example, like you can get that guy there, you know, there's going to be good pass-rushers down there Catholic. Jaelan Phillips out of Miami is a guy. I really like, I mean, it's a bit of a stretch for him at that point..

"Smith dropping a little bit. But we've talked about that with the frame that could cause him to slide a little bit man talk about having a receiving core there in arizona. Goodness gracious that'd be fun to watch and then the other one i think is fascinating. It's just mack. Jones go onto washington. I'm curious to see where he ultimately ends up. I have kind of more than that second round buck but man accurate efficient great decision maker. You love the work ethic. All the intangibles are off the charts. The question is is there. Enough is enough juice in his arm and his legs to warrant that. Yeah i think this is like the same thing when you talk about ron rivera. And what they wanna do and washington with their franchise. They won't guys that are cultural fits. Emag jones is work ethic intangibles. He's all of those things that they talk. They talk about and also just notice. I mean the washington fourteen they love alabama players turned down to alabama fleet when they've had a chance the mag jones because the player to the in the first round for the washington. That's a that's a good point there bucker. Let's go twenty one through twenty five indianapolis colts christian derek offensive tackle from virginia tech. Twenty two the tennessee. Titans aziz azure ari edge. Rusher from georgia at twenty. Three new york jets take travis. Ntn running back from clemson. Twenty four the pittsburgh steelers nick bolton linebacker from missouri and twenty five jacksonville jaguars christian bar more defensive tackle from alabama. Like what you did hear. Deira side of the colts make sense. You lose your left tackle to retirement with costanzo you go ahead and replace them right here with the twenty first pick. They do that with christian. Tarasov all right. How about twenty six to thirty twenty six thirty twenty six. The cleveland browns exerting collins linebacker from tulsa twenty seven. The baltimore ravens. "Is potentially a great corner at Virginia Tech potentially and I mean JC horn, I like a lot but I don't think any of these guys. And again, we are talking about process of telling the future is really hard Jeff okuda. I thought was an incredible Prospect and he didn't have a very good rookie year. So you never know how it's really going to play out. But like I think The top edges in this class cash already drawn a blank on last year's class all my classes run together the O J co-edit like the top edges of this class and I close to chase young as a prospect Jean. Are they close to him? Yeah, like that's really think for sure and I didn't like I had killed on Chase. I was a second-rounder. I didn't love him. So I thought it was really one great Edge and last year's class but like take a year. We're home miles care class and Myles Garrett and then for me, this is the order that they went in, but for me it was TJ Watt and Carl Lawson guys have been really good pass-rushers in the league and there's no doubt first round grades. Formy Taco. He was not a phrase a third-round grade for me, but like this year's class. I think the top guys and it's whoever you think it is a seizure Laureate, Georgia. Kwity paye at Michigan Joseph. Ossai at Texas. A lot of people going to say Gregory. So Miami, so I can't miss Prospect but like I have all of those guys. Well, we're still has a third-rounder. So obviously I don't like him but these the top guy name is I kind of cheat to give myself a real feel for how I feel about players. And so I legitimately fake like a one-man scouting department and build a board and I won't like I don't have any of them where you have your one and it's like here's where the name start. Okay. Well at tackle, it's like penne Sewell right here at the top Rashawn Slater the Northwestern tackle right here Christian dare saw Virginia Tech right here off edges. I left a couple of blank spots above them because it's like it's my cheater grades to remind myself of where I really have them like these guys are higher graded first-rounders than the edge who were more like yeah teens to twenties. That's where I think the top Edge guys are so the best defensive player in the class might be Jeremiah wusu. Korbo. The Notre Dame linebacker that some people might think he's a safety. It's just it's a really weird class at the top. That's why I love training down so much give me to 20 and just tell me who makes it there Thursday at 2:20. Let's talk about Christian barmore and JC horn and Nick Bolton the Missouri linebacker like and I'll feel good and I'll have an extra pick off and they'll count against my cap. Then a guy that I'm less sure of that. I picked a 10:00. Would you take a look tackle at 10? If one of your top guys on the board obviously Sewell won't be but let's say if the kid for Northwestern or b y u is there my truck guys are I haven't even seen BYU yet. But like I can take Rashawn lady Rashawn Slater 10. No problem. Yeah. Yeah, totally fine with it because he's one of my top ten players in the class easily comfortably. So yeah, I can do that. The other wild-card is what happened cuz what's happening in this class top of my head the best players in this class. There's four quarterbacks dead. Devonta Smith, Jaylen waddle jamarr Chase Chase Kyle Pitts floor tight end and a Sewell Rashawn slider..
