"Good morning. Welcome to forty niners in five your daily update on everything happening with the team that you need to know. i'm rob stats guerrero. Today is friday. September tenth. Twenty twenty one. Here's what's happening with your san francisco. Forty niners the niners had their last real practice before. Sunday's opener against detroit. So let me give you. The rundown jalen hurd and emmanuel moseley did not participate both with knee injuries. Kevin gibbons von kimmel and trae lance were limited brandon. Aaron banks nick bosa d ford dray greenlaw and jason variet- all were full participants in practice and that is music to my ears. All things considered the forty niners are in pretty good shape healthwise going into the season. And that's something that offensive coordinator. Mike mcdaniel brought up on thursday. Oh for sure no. it's It's a credit to our medical staff our organization credit to the players Because we have been training hard But have we've tried to learn from any any mistakes we've had in the past. There's a lot of science involved. That ben peterson leads. All the state of the throws at us on bar graphs that we try to absorb but we we take that serious and do our best. Because you can't control injuries Full till but you can be smart about things and it has really helped us Going into the season having everyone worked together you know. A lot has been made of how many injuries the forty niners have had. And what are they doing to adjust interesting. Little nugget there for mcdaniel. It sounds like they're doing everything they can. And hopefully this year so far it seems to be paying off. Now i mentioned lance was limited. Mcdaniel also was asked about that. So mike how did lance look to you. He's still limited he. He looked good. But we're were very hesitant to get ahead of ourselves. Because like i said you don't you're one snap away you just have to let the week progress and see how it plays out He looked good throwing the ball. Today and Moving around but you know we're what does that mean for sunday. We'll we still have a practice to go before that. And hopefully there's no setbacks and then we'll will move from there the encouraging thing about lance was. He was always still in practice. He began throwing on wednesday. He was throwing again yesterday. That's trending in in the right direction to at least be active on sunday. Who knows how much we'll see him. But i gotta be honest. I've seen too much innate seinfeld and whoever the forty niners third string quarterback is already. Can i just see a starter out there and a backup that stays on the sidelines. Like i would take that in a heartbeat. I know one thing. It is nice to be able to go into a game with nick. Bosa on the damn field again. I know d. ford said he was going to be a pitch count but for bosa no such restrictions. No pitch count for me. I'm just gonna go Whatever chris tells me. I'm fully confident to play as many steps as a need to. I have no doubt that nick bosa would play every snap in the game if he could. But i can't see the forty niners just giving him a regular workload right off the bat. He hasn't played in a game. Since i think september twentieth of twenty twenty. Like they're gonna ease him in. The great thing is the forty niners. Defensive line is so deep they could restrict bosa snaps and still have him on the field for all the crucial plays third-down red zone must pass situations. That's the benefit of being as deep is the forty niners are on the defensive line. You always get one thing to read one thing to watch and one thing. You might have missed on this. Show something to read on this friday. If you wanna learn more about the players in this organization that are not named lance or bosa. Go read celia palermo's profile of alex barrett in his journey to the nfl. It's a really good example of just how hard the guys in this league have to work. Even the guys that are on the practice squad like barrette just to make it in the nfl. One thing to watch other than the actual real football game on sunday. How about the interview. That matt maiocco. And laura britt did with defensive line coach chris ca- on their podcast forty niner stock. You know caserio is gets talked about like a crazy person because he's screaming and swearing all the time at practice. It was kind of nice to see him. Just sit and speak like a normal human being one thing. You might have missed. I know one thing i miss. And it's george. Biddle specifically george hill press conferences and george summed up the state at a team. Pretty nicely on thursday. I think we're very confident. I think we had a really good camp. i think guys Generally stayed very healthy throughout training camps. We were able to keep Starters on the field competed against starters. And i think that's really good for us because you look at our defense just getting to compete against them. I think has made the offense confident At our defenses confident because some cocky. ms I love that out of them And our expectations go in detroit. Hell yeah george. Go gated done. That is a wrap on. Today's forty.

"September third twenty twenty one. Here's what's happening with your san francisco. Forty niners it was relatively quiet day on the field for the niners yesterday but there were some interesting things that took place off of it. Mainly kyle shanahan's morning interview with k. Mbr he covered a bunch of different topics. But i actually want to start with the defense for a change. Because we haven't seen a ton of nick bosa yet this year but kyle did say something. That should put a big smile on your face. Come week one. I'm expecting to see a lot of them. I mean he's he's been on a plan this whole way You know coming back from his big injury and being ahead of schedule since the beginning and he's been he's got two weeks of practice in where he's been on here pretty hard We didn't let him go in the preseason game Which wasn't too tough a decision. You know his first year of playing any preseason game either. And i thought he did pretty good as a rookie So the main thing was getting them healthy. And you know nick. As prepared as any player i've ever been around On and off the field so Hopefully we'll stay on course here and He'll be nick. Bosa can wink one. Now that on its own would be fantastic. News given how good bosa is. And how awful. Jared goff is when he's under pressure but kyle also talked about d. ford's return and why maybe it's time to start buying into the positive reports about his health. These are all off season. He did a ton of the right things and we weren't sure until we got the training camp but we brought him on slowly but he's been consistent with it and he's been out there each day. He's gotten a lot more in camp this year than he did last year. And he's a great in practice so Our hope that we were going with now as more reality because the way he looks out on the field it looks like the ford and he didn't look that way last year and camp at this time. I'm kinda was just trying to tough it out. Where now he looks fresh. She looks good. He's feeling good And hopefully he'll be able to carry that throughout the season but as of right now It's just a lot more than hope goes. We're seeing with their own us. My definitely like here in that. Because i've been skeptical about de ford as anybody and a healthy nick. Bosa and deformed changes the entire season for this team. Those two guys elevate this roster from a fringe playoff team to a super bowl contender in my eyes and it's not just what day themselves can do. It's also what they allow the rest of the defense to do. If you've got bosa and ford getting all the attention on the edge. Eric armstead and javan. Kimba are going to get opportunities for saks because they aren't going to face many double teams in the middle of the defensive line. Don't forget when bosa was healthy in twenty nineteen eric armstead was actually the team leader in sacks because he benefited from all the offenses double teaming. Nick bosa i know all the focus has been on land and i get that. I'm as excited to see trae lance full time as anybody but this defense is going to be so much fun to watch. I think they are absolutely going to smother people. We always give you something to read something to watch. And something you might have. Missed something to read on this friday speaking of lance if you are missing seeing him on the field because of this finger injury check out the article that rich madrid has on niners nation dot com now. It is all about what the offense could look like when lance gets back out there. I swear i'm drooling over this summing the watch with the forty niners off today a holiday weekend coming up. Thank you labor day. Keep an eye on the cova. Nineteen lists coming back next week. Guys might be tempted to go out. Have a good time which we know can lead to problems when everybody reconvenes and they get back together for football kyle shanahan also aware of this. He gave a little speech to the team that he mentioned on k. Mbr this is the week before the season. This isn't a bye week I don't expect guys going out of town. I expect guy staying here. Expect guys aachen getting ready to come to practice on monday. 'cause no matter what your intentions are you just gotta be around one one person that's wrong and that sets you out for ten days and if you bring that in here and you get anybody in here Then they can really hurt our team if we have more than one guy missing. So it's a challenge for everybody. You see guys getting in this in this world all the time So it's not trying to shave him anybody if they if they do get it but you gotta do everything. You can't avoid that 'cause it is a real deal and it's definitely something that can hurt our team. A lot and one game can affect your whole season. The niners did a good job last year when they were exiled to arizona. Kind of self quarantining. So we'll see if they can keep that up this year. Something you may have missed. This is not a hidden gem by any means. But i just imagined. There aren't too many of you out there. Listening to press conferences of offensive lineman. So i wanted to throw this in for you. This is daniel brun skill talking about whether it's tough on the offensive lineman to rotate. Qb's in and out of the lineup. We can run our offense through both of them. Jimmy's trace plays before trade. You know he can run our normal often so it's really not you know i mean they're just plays we can run any in anybody at any time so it's it's not too much of that But it just it just changed the game and i think it's more for defenses. They gotta look at it as this guy's coming in they have to change their mindset For us you know we're gonna run our normal offense those plays in our offense so you're ready for whatever place called trae can run the whole offense I'm not going to get into the whole thing right now. But that's encouraging to hear and hopefully he'll get the chance to do that sooner rather than later. That's going to do it for today. Stats and eggs. In fact that's going to do it for stats in eggs in general because starting on monday we are rebranding this show. We're going to have a new name going to switch up a couple of different things. We're still going to give you everything you need to know in five minutes which is gonna fresh in it up a little bit it was time to retire. Stats and eggs..

"Bosa coming back if you can get pressure on the quarterback and he helps out get more pressure on the quarterback. That might not matter all too much. Oh i just can't wait to see if like george kato's been talking him up every single week like i think people forget how good he was. He had something like ninety pressures as a rookie. Which was just incredible. And i think that there's a chance that that's the worst version of nick. Bow so that we see he could. He could be even better this year. He's got like three percent body fat or some insane number. Like that i would. I just wanna see. Give me something to watch in this. Preseason let me see. Nick bosa damn it. Yeah i think he has a chance to lead the to lead the league in sacks in all right after tj wa and aaron. donald like. I would like to see him. Be that next guy up maybe after myles garrett like that's that's a little a high ceiling to try to beat there. I do think he should be a top five guy in this league in sacks and oppressors and if you can do that that will help this whole defense be better Be able to cover the wide receivers. Because they won't have to do it as long. And i think that's necessary for this team to get to the playoffs. I said for the forty niners to be a legitimate playoff contender or get deep into the playoffs. Nick bo said doesn't just have to be good. He has to be a superstar. Like one of the best defenders in the league. And i do think that is an option this year. Like as long as he's healthy he should take that next step for it. I'm looking right now. The draft king odds for defensive player of the year. Nick bosa is plus sixteen hundred. That's a really good number. Like i might be willing to plunk down one hundred bucks on nick. Posted a win defensive player of the year Aaron donald at plus five hundred miles garrett's at plus five hundred t. J. watt is plus. Eight hundred mining boasts has got just as good a chance as any of those guys. They're just going to give it to aaron donald anyways. I'm jay. Why last year and the fact that he did not win is the most ridiculous thing ever so yeah good luck. I mean they're tj should've one hundred percent on the defensive player of the year last year. Aaron donald just pretty much has to stand out there and he's going to win it so i don't know if it's worth even risking with nick both but those are those are amazing. It's comeback player of the year. Bosa might not. Well you know a deck prescott plus two ten and by way Seasoning it. Yeah i agree if already call that. I agree as long as he doesn't fall flat on his face by the way plus to ten. If you don't know that means you bet one hundred dollars and you win two hundred ten dollars. So that's how that works. Both is plus one thousand to be comeback player of the year. Not ban now but i do think he is a i. Guess if he wins defensive player of the year how do you not give him comeback player of the year as well but You know if he wins one award they might just give it to quarterback when those awards. It's gonna be hard for anybody especially because people like dak especially the media likes tax. That's a huge part of this. The whole narrative both people seem to like both but not like deck deck is east dallas. Cowboys quarterback is the chosen one. So i don't know. I i might have to plunk down money. Mondo somewhere though. He's too good to damn good not to put money on. I like the sixteen hundred. I think i think that's where i'm going to go. I like those odds. I like those odds a lot. I'm fine with that. And i'm just kidding about your donald. I know how amazing isn't he. He also deserved to win. I've just very bitter about my boy. Tj what and you know. Aaron donald has won enough awards. It was teetering. Watch turn and All right let's get to the new pboc of.

"Game if he's injured so it's looking like they're not going to have any competition again but the secondary's looking solid. The run evens is looking really really good. I i like what i see there. We need to see more More of a rushing offense of the running backs especially trae lance is going to get the start like you need a running back to lean on. So i need to see troy Trae sermon in this game against the raiders. And i need to see him. Go off like off. I want him to go crazy. That would make me feel better about this running game because j michael hasty is not it i i did not like him. You said you you were okay with his performance okay. So let's do that. Let's take a break quickly and when we come back we'll get into what we want to see from the final preseason game and we still have to do our nuke blocks so we got two things to do before we go back here on the gold diggers podcast before we went to break michelle. You said you wanna see more out of the forty niners running game. You specifically called my guide. Michael hasty and i kinda liked you. Michael hasty the thing i like about him is if the play breaks down. If it's not blocks totally great. I feel like he can make a guy miss and still get something out of the run whereas wing goldman is fine but he doesn't bring that that ability. Oh yeah wayne gaughman. He's going get stuffed in the back unless he has a whole and he started getting those bigger holes as the game went on probably because he was going against competition as defenders left the game so the beginning i was like oh my goodness gaughman looked so bad and then as it went on he ended up doing okay to get his average up. Four point eight yards per carry like he looked okay but he only was good when he had the whole. Michael hazy is better at getting those tough yards but nineteen carries for fifty eight yards. Like he just didn't he he can maybe make the first guy miss what he's not breaking too. Many other tackles in that he he looks like a backup to me Not a guy that should be a starter whatsoever A fine backup but you need where he mustered to be. Healthy apparently already dealing with back pain which took himself out dude kenya. Just make it through a few weeks without any issues. It doesn't seem like it. I know he already came back to practice but back pain. What does that even mean like. How did you just overcome it like that fast. As they're gonna come back of course. It is because back injury that's what they do right like. No one has a back injury and then totally recovers and they're good like once you have a back. It's not getting any better. I don't really get the back. Pain thing trae sermon dealt with the ankle injury right. He's back in practice. Let's need to see him. Play against the raiders. Because in week one against the chiefs it did not look pretty and he's been my dude ivan saying he's good. He made me look like an idiot in week once. I need them to come out in week. Three against the raiders. Terrible defense Probably against many backups. As well and i need him just dominate and i think he could win this job after what i saw last week. Like hasty and gov should not be a starter. Most are we know can't stay healthy. Elijah mitchell's dealing with a hip injury. So sermon could take control of this backfield if he comes out and dominates this week. I'm one interesting thing i saw was mike mcdaniel the offensive coordinator. Yesterday actually said well trae sermon. That they've actually been really encouraged this week with what they've seen from him in basically he said this week specifically been very encouraged with a coaching points. That we've been given You know it's an adjustment for running back any ball carrier in the nfl. Speed is just so different and and the holes are different. And you can't stop and start as much and this week specifically it's been. I think it's teammates have really noticed. It's been he's been very deliberate and forceful and it's been very encouraging this week. So that's nice to hear. I agree with you. Hopefully he comes out in a raider game and kills it honestly. I think he was drafted to be the starter. I think the forty niners new most starts not gonna be on the team next year because his contract is up and like you said. He can't stay healthy their plan. I think is Take the number one job so he needs to show that he can do that. I just actually drafted him in my my family draft we just had it I read my first redraft draft this past week and i took trae sermon late. I believe in him. And i hope he wins. This backfield and i really do think you'd be a huge help to the forty niners to get those tough yards to keep the keep the drive alive and keep the ball moving down the field but he asked to show more than what he showed him. Freeze make one because that was not pretty. He was getting taken down far too easily. And my my my opinion. And i know that you know supposedly kyle. Shanahan is famous for shuffling running backs in and out. But i think he's sort of done that out of necessity because where he most is always hurt and he's always had to you know kind of divvy up to carries between a bunch of guys. Don't forget he let alfred. Morris lead the league in rushing in two thousand twelve with washington. He had over three hundred and thirty carries over sixteen hundred yards so like i don't think he always wants to be rotating guys i think if he could choose he would pick to have sermon as the belco and just give him the rock over and over and over again so at like from a fantasy perspective like you were saying i think if he shows he can do it. He's gonna be the bell cow the more consistent running back for kyle. As long as he can one stay healthy and to hit those holes. Yep it did they announce how like how much trae lance will be playing in the third game. So i think that what they said were kyle was kinda noncommittal. What he said was basically. He's gonna play some of the guys that haven't gone a lot of time. Like fred warner and george kill. He didn't say how much I'm thinking maybe like a quarter. But i honestly don't know for sure how much is gonna play. I really would just like to see what happens.

Good morning i'm rob stats guerrero. Today is wednesday. august eighteenth. Twenty twenty one. Here's what's happening with your san francisco. Forty niners tuesday was relatively quiet day in forty niners world. But there were a few things you should know about. I when it comes to the quarterback competition things remained mostly the same trae lance. Look better at the start of practice. What jimmy garoppolo. Looking better towards the end of practice both guys threw interception yesterday with fred warner picking off jimmy garoppolo for the fourth time in training camp speaking of quarterbacks. Josh rosen was cut after a terrible performance saturday night. This did not come as a surprise. Anyone that's been watching the forty niners in training camp or frankly anyone that scene. josh rosen. Play since two thousand eighteen. He ranks last in completion percentage yards per attempt and passer rating. Among the forty two quarterbacks that have thrown at least five hundred passes in that time the forty niners made good use of the roster spot however claiming cornerback devante harris off of waivers. He was a fifth round. Pick in two thousand. And he's played thirty games in a career spent when cincinnati denver and baltimore in terms of injuries. The following players did not practice. Yesterday trent williams. He's got a knee. Devan kin law as a banged up shoulder. Sean coleman and aaron banks hurt themselves in the game against the chiefs. it's a knee for coleman and a shoulder for banks elisha. mitchell still. has the abductor injury. Jalen hurd who knows at this point. He didn't practice and emmanuel moseley has a hamstring injury that could be dicey if it lingers which those things tend to do finally according to matt barrels of the athletic nick bosa has decided to get vaccinated and he in fact has been vaccinated remember last month. He said he was evaluating whether or not to get the shot a general manager. John lynch recently said on the tim. Kawakami's show podcast that before manners down to just four players who have not been vaccinated and remember you have to sit out at least ten days if you test positive for cova and you haven't been vaccinated. That could potentially be two games worth of absences depending on when in the week it false we always give you something to read something to watch and something you might have missed something to read on this wednesday niners nations own jordan elliott has been attending training camp and he has a huge list of all his observations that he is made and he has spared the quarterback from this list. So if you've got quarterback fatigue. You don't wanna hear about jimmy garoppolo in trae lance anymore checkout jordan elliott's list it's all non quarterback offensive observations from camp and there's one group in particular that he is really concerned about something to watch the forty niners traveled to costa mesa and chargers training camp after practice. Yesterday they'll have a date arrest before to joint practices with justin herbert and company. Those are on thursday. And friday and remember the bite we played from kyle shanahan yesterday where he said joint practices mean more to him than the games. Because you can put the players in any situation you want whereas in a game you're kind of dependent upon what happens out there on the field so keep an eye. On how many snaps trae lands gets what the situations are and if he's in there with the ones at all something you may have missed giants owner. John maher is a member of the infamous. "I'm thinking of mouth. Gary nick bosa aaron donald. Those of the guys who. I'm looking at to say okay. They put the fear of god into offensive coordinators at night when they're planning for the game plan and they're saying the only way we can get through. This defense is if we maintain him. We maintain these guys. 'cause we're not gonna stop them no way we're gonna stop them. So those are the rated. Ed rushers those are the heights rated at rutgers in madden twenty two and i would think for that list you got to put joey bosa. And you've gotta put nick bosa at least a ninety five or ninety six ninety two and ninety way too low. They're just going up injuries of last year. And they're not really. They're not really taking into account of what they did in previous years. But you let it's all gonna play each other out. It's all going to play out this season if these guys are healthy. And that's a big. If so coming up side we're going to get into the highest rated tight end and the highest rated wide receivers in madden twenty twenty two so stick around for that sketching coming up next. "Bill. It is eleven twenty nine pm eastern and we made it. We have arrived at our final late sunday night session of the nfl season. I think you're showing the appropriate level of enthusiasm. Just watch ill. Barnwell has been our. Nfl oracle through low. These many football weeks you can catch wisdom on the bill. Barnwell show podcast and his monday column on. Espn plus bill. I know i'm washed. I knew that coming in. But tonight i also discovered that i'm like had to close my eyes because the weekend halftime show is making me wash so on top of these horrific super bowl. We ended up getting an. I'm also just the opposite of tom brady. In every sort of genetic sense it turns out. There were so many songs i've heard in uber's or biggest when i was like. Oh that's who does that song. That sucks i. i'm. I'm okay with that songs now. I really learned a lot during the halftime show. Not sure i learned so much during the actual game l. If i mean it just in thinking about what are most notable takeaway or the the moment remember from the super bowl will be years from now it comes down to maybe mccall hardman lining up full yard offsides on a field goal. Try tony romo. Getting very excited about a streaker. In the fourth quarter of lot where he was trying to will the game to be competitive was a a complete and utter dominant victory by the buccaneers and was an upset but the thoroughness of the whole thing and the repetitive nature. What happened from series and series for possession possession. Really just sort of by the end of the game. Everyone knew what the story was because it was really office so it did feel a times bill like we were getting. Tom brady playing his hits. But before we pay our respects at the altar of brady and all of his non washington is. I want to ask how exactly kansas city. Patrick mahomes looked this helpless. Because that's what was shocking to me too twenty seventeen before mahomes was a starter in the league to find a game where the chiefs had been. Shut out of the end zone entirely before tonight. So how did the buccaneers. How defensive coordinator. Todd bowles stopped. One of the most unstoppable offenses. We ever seen it. Was you know sort of a game. Plan out of the nineteen sixties. Winning at the line of scrimmage and dominating upfront and you know. I don't want to exaggerate. Wanted to subscribe to recency bias. But i have to admit i'm not sure i've ever seen an offensive line. Get beaten badly over the course of an entire game as the chiefs were by the buccaneers on sunday. Night me last year in the super bowl we saw nick bosa and the forty niners really dominate the chiefs from most of the first three quarters were on pace to win that game but fourth quarter. Nick bosa got tired. And patrick mahomes turn things around very quickly. The chiefs launched forward scored a bunch of touchdowns and won the super bowl. And this time around. We were sort of waiting for that moment right and it never happens. The buccaneers pressure mahomes on virtually every single meaningful past play. This game often

But no, they turns out he's gone, too, so they might have wanted Ziggy answer back and you just heard Cope say during the During the break that Ziggy signed with the Niners, which you know, Listen, I haven't seen the film haven't turned on the film to look at Ziggy's reps, but just on paper. I like the move. You know what I mean? There's a Veteran pass rusher. Professional nose knows howto at least cause some kind of problems out there for the and with Crisco Circus Eric, his former D Line coach in Detroit. Maybe a little recreation of the magic calling. Nothing will ever match the signing of overweight Charles Haley in 1998 for that one again, and I'll never forget it. It was a T o game, And also he came trotting out not only with his little belly hanging out, but he was wearing number 95, which was not his number because Dana Stubblefield was wearing 90 for the whole thing was crazy. It was a mind blank. And I remember sitting with my seats in the word started going around the stick. Charles Haley just got activated was like, Wait a minute. What? Because, Yeah, There he is. Right there. We all looked at. It was like, Wow. He looks like He's not even really in shape. But I will say this, he I remember one place specifically, and that's what they brought him in to do If you remember Charles Haley used to give bread far fits and nightmares and and he did have an effect on the game. He did. He got his face a couple of times. I was covering team that year, and they brought him in on the Thursday on the Friday of that week late week, and they brought him out to the little they brought around the locker room. We interviewed him on a little patch of grass outside the locker room night, Clara Which is now you know, now all part of Levi's Stadium complex and and I was remember looking, you know, looking at my notebook, and there was his gut just kind of hanging out loud and proud. And I got to say, Murph Ah, continuing an earlier threat today where I mentioned how easily won over I am especially when you're sitting face to face with me. Teddy Bridgewater, For example, Bridge. Well, let's not forget our our memorable hit with Charles Haley down in Miami, Same calendar year. By the way, he's hard to believe, but it was actually this year we're doing that. And my big takeaway from the Charles Haley meeting. Murph was when we took the pictures with him. He put he draped his big bear paw around my shoulder for the picture, and I looked. The picture like his hand is so big. It's bigger than my entire neck and shoulder area, just his hand. It's judge and Tio objected to block that guy. I wouldn't want any part of it. And I know you made the call on the audio sound alike. Trent Williams Niner tackle Anybody else heard that? Hello? Yeah. Thank you, man. Okay, So here's the Here's the wreckage here. Okay. So started the top Nick Bosa as we all suspected official done, That's that's a gut punch, man. Really? I mean, we almost need I was one like pause for a moment of silence. I mean, that. Is he your favorite Niner Right now? This was top of my head. The answer's Yes. Yeah. I mean, I could tell Scour the roster, but, yeah, I mean, I've never seen a guy perform like it. No level, you know, amount, and it also just kind of the The vibe that he brought to just the hell that the chuckle. Yeah, the cadence. Yeah, maker and then just the performance. I mean, the guy didn't absolutely performed out of savage any performed at such a notable level, like like he was already one of the best players in the NFL. You know anyone in the NFL, right? In fact, when the NFL did their top 100 rankings on NFL Network Coast to remember where he finished up, Nick Bosa was he top 10 Top 20 Some, like, Honestly, I can't remember. I'm a little surprised to hear you say. I've never seen anyone do that. Well, it has a 40 like I feel like Alden Smith was was as insane and has a very interesting I like different though. They're different, Of course, different, but I'm just saying the impact like I'm not saying he would have been. Your favorite is, of course, we're talking like a lot of affected more plays than l'd. Although I think he was strictly a pass rusher, and his was more of an every down guy. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. They strictly a pass rusher, but boasted would disrupt runs to more than Alden. They're not trying to decide. You see that I employ Alden Smith posted just But if you look up, Smith sack numbers all then Smith sack numbers is a rookie to your point. Hopes is 19 out of control that his next jury with 19.5 90. And again You've got a lot of help. Because Justin Smith was right there taking up two guys on every snap. It comes back to the buck their stuff to partner last year hopes. Yes, yes. Well, I mean, the question was his nick post of my favorite Niner. And it is, that's my questions More to that cadence. There's personality. All that I think he's athletics. The way gets off the ball was just fun to watch. It's fun to watch Solomon Thomas out for the season. Yeah, yeah, And I'm not trying to.

New York Giants Confirm Saquon Barkley Tore ACL, Out For The Season

"There are terrible injuries all over the NFL yesterday alone. Nick. Bosa. From the niners Saquon Barkley from the giants both suffered torn ACL statistics show that through two weeks nfl record twice as many significant injuries as last year. It's actually at least six players suffered a torn acl including just recently Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin Eleven, injuries to starters in the one o'clock games alone John Do you think these injuries have something to do with the fact that there were no preseason games. Well. For example, the Rams don't play any of their starters in preseason games I think is in the spirit of your question i. think it has something to do with no camp no real camp they kind of shotgun training camp and I don't know how you could make the opposite argument that it has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't tied to preseason games what I would do it to the fact that there was very little tackling. Yes in. The game started and the other thing is I know Kyle Shanahan the niners felt like the field wasn't ready like the field I think he played in the meadowlands and he's got play there again next week because he played the jets and now he's GonNa, play the giants. Players on both teams going down. So I don't necessarily think that the facilities were one hundred percent prepared either I think again, I think the spirit of your question is the fact that they fast tracked everything and started the season. Because of Covid is that having any do with the injuries I don't know how you could say it doesn't I think it has to yeah. I mean I I completely agree I mean between training camp and preseason games where guys at least get a sense for what they get a reminder of what getting hit is like. I think they're I think they would be better off. It is an extraordinary number of injuries and none worse than Christian McCaffrey who's gone for four to six weeks and his the stalwart of my fantasy team just loyal to John Ireland how about? Yeah. I cleaned your clock thinking Matt Ryan. But. How about how about Saquon out for the year? Yeah. Entirely out for the year Bosa gone for the with a tornado. And that means that the giants I. It might be a race between the giants and the jets who the worst team football is. The whole new. York City area has to just garbage football teams because the jets are a mess and now the giants have no running game. So it's going to have it's going to have after-effects. All these

He's believed to have a mild knee injury giants running back Saquon? Barkley has what is believed to be an ACL tear? He would be done for the season broncos quarterback drew lock shoulder injury cam acres of the rams rib injury packers, Davante Adams Hamstring Christian McCaffrey with left with an ankle. "Here's Robert for well, Dick. It is all going wrong for Washington down in Arizona. The Cardinal's lead 22 nothing at half time, and it's really not even that close. The cards have outgained Washington 247 yards to 96 Dwayne Haskins has been sacked four times. "Arm. Nick Bosa will want him down from behind. What a play by both set. Who's just such a complete all around player, not just a pass rusher. He is a complete game record offensive well, and it all starts with coach Eric. These guys buying said it is snapped a whistle in terms of tracking that football. No huddle. There's a bull rushed by Bosa throw out of the drop by Calvin Cookie was preoccupied with Drake Ring law. Who was gonna light him up. But there you see posters power. She just had a bull rush there on O'Reilly. Rafer just picked him up and pushed him right back in the quarterback's laugh. Yeah, And then you've got forced Buckner on the inside with finesse. Move that same jump swim on Elf line. And I'm telling you, Calvin Cooke was not ready for that football is cousins unloaded in early, which made it go high up above his head, and he dropped each coordinator, 40. Niners defensive coordinator Vikings offensive coordinator were interviewed by the Cleveland Browns last weekend in this week to be their new head coach inside, move by post throw by cousins and catch there for the first time by urge Smith Jr. Bring Randy Moss is old Number 84. That's one of their better plays of the second half as they get across midfield, Finally going off for 49 yard line got Drake Real on an option route in zone and herb speeches, but a hard cut on him Easy separation. Good throw cousins gets the shotgun snapper comes posts around the cousin steps up its Elvin cooking. Check down too much speed. The linebacking level is Thread Warner run that down from the backside. Jimmy Andy has love interviewed Robert Salas a week ago today, they also interviewed Kevin's to fancy the Vikings. OSI. If you're matching up the 40 Niners defense with the vikingsoffense today, you're much more impressed. Masada. There's a throw out by cousin did a catch made by the linen or to go to his knees. To make the catch on the 40 yard line. The clock continues to roll as we approached three minutes to play in the game, and they just don't have time to take any shots deep. You could take one in two seconds, but it's been good coverage out there by mostly. In terms of trying to steam it up. The pass. Rush is not given time to hold with football feeling goes wide left watch by. Mostly, they have a bunch formation, right. They run left and Nick Bosa comes off the block there. A Riley refit makes a one hand tackle. Bosa is he's unstoppable. He's the best player on the field stoppable and I would not argue, argue with you on that. Nobody gave a standing in every way imaginable. He is destroying Riley pending in the run game. When he buzzed out coverage now on fourth and one we try to create and they did, and they're saying they got it Cook. Let's see whether pressure they tried to quarterback. Sneak cousins for Donna. Quick snap the 14. I don't think you got Sheldon Day, saying no was seen with a spot of the ball. Here's Waltz. San Francisco, calling a timeout, timeout play. We have 32nd time out. Time out has been called by Cal Shanahan. Robert Sal over the 40 Niners sideline. Make sure they were prepared cousin just got spoke. 2 35 to play. And it's four down and one on a 40 yard line. Closer, just having a magnificent game in every regard. He just the power game on Riley Reef unstoppable and I gotta say this Christmas, Eric, I talked about him all year is a guy that's just been accused. For this defense, but he breaks down. All these guys he knows rightly read very well from there times in Detroit, and he has told these guys Russian Russian with our cousins in the shotgun on Alexander showing a blitz off the edge. Here comes the throw on forthe moment lob one down. The left sideline digs against mostly Dex had it that has broken up beautifully by Jimmie Ward. Coming across. What a play by Jimmie Ward coming from three. Safety is timing was impeccable Ball hit digs right in his hands as he had just enough separation on mostly to make the catch him an award came over and blow it happy, and I thought I saw offensive pass interference with a push off by digs. I don't think there's any doubt about it that opened up for him to get separation and Jimmie Ward came over and hit him. He had already dropped the ball anyway. That's good coverage by both guys and salsas. Yet they're on their way to 40 Niners around their away. Now I gotta ask yourself,.

"There's 40 Niners take a seven to nothing later Toyota scoring drive summary, so I gotta let's go places. They started on the 11 yard line 89 yards, six plays 3 38 off the clock. Jimmy was three for three on a dry hole, Debo Samuel for 42 yards, most on 1/3 and a gun run goes 36 yards. There's the kickoff by which it will be a touchback for Tyler, Urban and Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are down just like they were 12. They're done quickly. Seven to nothing. 40 Niners. They're putting Bosa elect and over. Brian Malaga, Merrick Armstead inside which Sheldon Day You're on the other side, Ray Green lot of five man. A defensive line right tackle by Williams. A quick left Geronimo Allison, 40 Niners went to a five main line stacking Dre Greenlaw, the Sam back there on the line. Quick throw out less than a collected a great tackle by terrific physical tackle. That's what Kay one Williams's. I'm telling you. It's some point here. Maybe now maybe get a first down. The Green Bay Packers are going to take a shot trying to love its defense to sleep with short passing game quick passing game was just a matter of time. German for 1/3 time already has gone over to the other side to match up with Davante Adams. There's a keep Raj is rolling lap throwing out by Lazar. He's got a first out across the 40 yard line would have throw is he's so good, rolling keep game rolling to his left, but he's able to turn his body ing at his shoulders squared inning as an elite whippy throwing arm. Aaron Rodgers Davante Adams Range Sherman away. They came underneath with desired across the field for a 14 yard pick, and there's already a big body every bit of 63 200 £7. Tread water. Good position with that huge catch radius and pinpoint location by Aaron Rodgers makes it look easy. Chairman doesn't know which side to go to get a bunch formation left Davante Adams, Not on the field. They get Aaron Jones off the left side. More oven inside run. Richard Sherman didn't know were quite to go. Tim Davante. Adams was not on the field made a bunch on the other side. He stayed over on as usual. Left cornerback side of the offensive, right where there was no what receiver? Yeah, There was nobody over there knows where he fits. Even if he doesn't he knows where to get up in the soft spot on the defense's get about 2.5 3 yards running. Is he just gonna follow Davante Adams around today way Didn't think they were doing is they are now again. They're going to send Lazard out to the offenses. Right? Sherman pick him up second out a Green bay on their 41 yard line. They stacked receivers Tyler Ervin running back behind. Hey, Adams. A dose motion comes in and slammed the run game here and Jones took it up the ghost most straight ahead on the left side. They never blocked the right defensive end in areas again. They tried to block him with David Bachtiar just quicker than a hiccup with that vision, and the ability to disengage falls back inside. And gets himself a tackle for loss. That's 19 on the year. He's got a guy right behind the line. I just cannot get into third and long against the gold Rush. Shared Rogers when he was here. 24th was over 13. They were 1 15 as a team, man protection. Here we go forward is left in rushing over Bulaga. Nick is on the other side over Bachtiar. Here comes the gold rush and Roger's bad gets through, has got a little second back inside 30. Aaron Rodgers for 13 years. Number one, baby five man protection. There are five out now You've got four guys to beat five. Forced Buckner gets the pressure early flushes Aaron Rodgers out of the pocket. But the athleticism of Nick Bosa is just ridiculous to be tangled up with a blocker and then reach out and grab cloth and get ahold of that number 12 and rip him to the ground. Awesome, Awesome. Last time he was here, Nick said. After that, Aaron Rodgers has a nice and saggy jersey easy to grab. He literally grand and told him down by the jersey There's Jake, a Scot who appointed from the 20 yard line Richie James doing here. Will come over. The Gunners are a little bit late getting there. Redmond James makes the first man miss not going to get outside wide right block from weather Scone and Marcel Harris goes all the way to midfield. Nice return by Richie James Jr. Who goes right through the Packer bench. Strutting, beautiful return. Very underrated. Nobody knows Richie James, one of the better return men in pro football, slaps it up inside and then bounces to the perimeter of this ball past midfield or right there close to it 24 years. Return, and only in that 22 on the part beautifully done by Richie James Jr. 40. Niners will begin. Fittingly there 49 yard line when we come back to 16 to play in the opening quarter 40 Niner seven. Factor's nothing. You're listening to the NFC Championship game in the US Bank, 40 Niners radio network. It's going true to form here first in 10 49 to 16 to go in the opening quarter of seven capital under center. True, I toss sweep to Coleman coming left cut back inside. Like Martinez, they're tackling machine. Former Stanford Cardinal had over 200 tackles. This year. We'll make the tackle on Coleman, but again a four yard pick up on first out well, and they're moving Za'darius Smith off the football period and walking him to the Sideline. That time, it was Joe Staley working with George Scandal. That is a tough combo to defend. It creates that crease up inside to be able to cut it back up inside there, and that's out of 22 personnel. Now we've already seen a few times in this game pop two backs. Tight ends. Only one white out on the field. Now 11 personnel one running back one tight and George Kettle three wide receivers Kendrick born is in and the actors bring in Sherman Williams. They're nickel quarter takeout B. J. Goodson, the linebacker to wrap it up straight seven step drops Gonna throw up right and he got hit. Has he thrown the ball land in complete? A flag is down on the play. We're going to get rough. I believe Darius Smith hit him and possibly Lo. John Husi, our referee here. It's on Kenny Clarke, who did hit him load around the knee right on that left me on that knee brace. Thank goodness Jimmy had that honor That would have been a huge play. If he could have stepped into that Sanders wide open. Almost looked like he took a shot in the crowd is seeing the replay. The scoreboard almost looked like Kenny Clarke. Honestly, not just stumbled. Those guys were selling out doing all they could do, and he just stumbled and fell down, actually tripped over the leg. I believe Mike person and unfortunately for him got Jimmy low, and that's the right got him right on the left name. It's a good thing he does play with titanium knee brace. There's a stretch run. It's Evan Kohlmann, coming left on a cut inside of 40 Niners just picking up good yardage every single time on first down consistently. Running the ball on first out, getting four yards every time they run the ball very much like the Minnesota Game last weekend. What a great block by Lake and Tomlinson. He was everywhere last week against Minnesota. That time. It's just a one on one isolation block on Lancaster. They're counting on him. Getting that guy hooked. A great block by him gave a nice big hole in their cold miracle. Shana hand a script. The 1st 24 plays 12 runs, 12 passes, the 1st 12 place today, eight have been runs. Four passes second in 6 40 Niners on the Packer, 28 trying to elongate their seven Nothing legal Rapallo in the gun jet sweeper coming in motion. They fake it to Tebow use..

NFC West: Who will unseat the 49ers?

"So glad to be joined by Candace Silva of the rams wire as we go around the NFC west try to figure out who's going to unseat the forty Niners if they can be unseeded at the top of the division cam covers the the rams the rams who apparently are the hot bat right now to win the Superbowl at thirty to one what the hell's going on their camp yeah apparently they were the most popular Super Bowl bet of the last I think there's some were the bachelor come in anywhere on the rams won the Superbowl which is surprising because they've done nothing in the past okay two months to really bolster their claim as a Super Bowl contender in it's been a rough offseason for them so they got a bounce back in to see them as a Super Bowl favorite or not people will favor but to see so many people jumping on the bandwagon for them to win the Superbowl surprising I mean obviously they were just in the Super Bowl now might about a decade ago by our current time frame standards but it was two seasons ago and they still have the same quarterback they still have the same head coach where has it gone wrong we know what happened last year it in fact but if if people are buying in why would you say don't hi this is biggest issue right now I was really surprised that they essentially ignored the the office of identity try to remake it or bring in much talent really on the opposite line this offseason they refinance or what works best it brought back Austin blight who could play guard and center I'm so really they're sticking with the same group that they had last year there's a lot of competition really the only position that sat on the opposite wanted at left tackle with what danger what work right but the other four spots where they're gonna be competitions with Bobby Evans and rob Stein at right tackle Austin Blake and Bryan Alexander in the guard position is kind of just a mishmash of players who are relatively unproven at the NFL level so I would say that's the biggest issue switching Todd Gurley out for can makers they hope is going to be an upgrade at least hopefully in the in the explosiveness department because we do the regular Todd Gurley last season and he kind of seems like he's past his prime with the old me injury in right usage so they hope that with the improved often combined with these guys developing the younger guys and then a a better run game they're going to hopefully get back to their roots from the twenty seventeen twenty seventeen to twenty eighteen season that also supplying plan doesn't seem like a very good one considering that they're in a division with the forty Niners who I don't think I'm being a Homer here by saying that they have a pretty darn good defense of line like that that might not be a good match up for them yeah that's one of the best defensive line principality and you're gonna have it you're gonna have such a us a big mismatch every time that these teams square off because the defense of life for forty third San Francisco so good you got Nick Bosa all the guys on the interior Erik Armstead so there's gonna be tough match ups all across the front when these teams square off twice a year and you're not gonna want to right now in blocking these guys or Bobby Evans are often blight it's it's gonna be a tough match up for all these guys what's M. brings us to the cornerback what what went down with Jared Goff I mean I don't know what it was it all just smoke and mirrors in that Super Bowl season was he figured out I mean there there's been plenty of arguments I've seen a lot of smart people say listen as soon as Matt Patricia showed how to basically not bite on the play action it was game over for the rams they still made the Super Bowl but last year was not great is there any realistic expectation around the rams that they can make it jump now with you know maybe acres and there is the full time running back yeah I I wouldn't say your golf was just smoke and mirrors in twenty eighteen I thought he was a legitimate MVP candidates for most that season and then they kind of have that by the crazy Monday Night Football game against the chiefs and ever since then he's just more grass than not been the same player it was it was he was really terrible on play action last season which was a surprise but again that goes back to the office of line you just didn't have time to to get to a second read he didn't have time to to turn his back to the defense on these armies clashing passes so that a big impact but he's a player who I know they gave them a hundred thirty four million dollars but at this point in his career he doesn't seem like someone who's going to really master the issues of the rest of the offense it's not can overcome terrible off in one place so for him in the rams to really bounce back it's going to take an improvement on the offensive line golf getting back to how he was playing in twenty eighteen and then that running game coming alive and that seems like a lot of that on because it's it's everything coming together as a cohesive unit but I mean with the talent that they do have they still look really good receivers with concocting Robert wood acres and Henderson at running back our promising and golf if he if he lives up to his contracting really pleased the way the FHS quarterback showed the ram should bounce back nicely I like Henderson he came out of Memphis right yep yep he he really was under utilized last year yeah they were kind of well I wouldn't say stubborn sticking with elderly but he just didn't get many opportunities but when he did when he did get some chances he showed his show computer production yeah if you could once against the forty Niners last season to worry bounced off a few tackles and I Super Bowl Bound: 49ers and Chiefs

"Did bill. We made it to the Super Bowl. You me and Jimmy Garoppolo. I feel I I may have sweat more watching the NFC championship game. That Jimmy Garoppolo actually swept playing being in the NFC championship game. Bill Barnwell is a senior football writer at ESPN and the host of the bill. Barnwell show so after two weeks Of Extremely Exciting Football Championship weekend did not disappoint niners and chiefs fans disappointed pretty much everyone else or at least anyone who wanted close close games both favorites dominated so let's start with the most dominant team the San Francisco Forty niners bill win the niners packers met earlier earlier. This season. Aaron Rodgers had one of the worst games of his career threw for one hundred and four yards. Tonight he threw for three hundred twenty six yards But the result wasn't much better. Why is that okay? So the first time these two teams played the niners won with an absolutely dominant. Pash Josh Rush Nick. Bosa and his teammates knocked down Aaron Rodgers ten times on Sunday. The only knockdown Aaron Rogers twice and while they did hold them without a first down conversion in the first half both of those games the packers movable pretty consistently I should say after after halftime instead the forty niners otherworldly in a different way on Sunday they ran the ball forty two times for two hundred eighty five yards and four. We're touchdowns averaging nearly seven yards per carry to put that in context. ESPN has a stat called expected. Points with measures how each play impacts team's James Chances of scoring on a given the forty niners racked up the second most rushing. EPA for any team in a game this season and and the most for any single team in a playoff game over the last decade just narrowly beating out the prior record holder. which just happened to be the forty niners? Twenty wanting twelve playoff win over. The Green Bay Packers would Colin Kaepernick. Ran For one hundred. Eighty one rushing yards. So they're leading rusher tonight. I was not Colin Kaepernick. It was re Moster who ran for two hundred and twenty yards by himself. were good has hat trick the first half of the NFC championship game deserves a hat trick of field grade baby bill. Will I am guessing. A decent amount of football fans hadn't heard Ramos before tonight. Okay so you mustard is basically it accident accident in football terms but it's such a cool story so the Shanahan offense has a history of unearthing obscure running back and turning them into stars going back to Mike Shanahan stays in Denver but even among those backs most particularly remarkable case. Liners did everything they could to find a different running back over the past a couple of years. They hand picked a runner who they traded up to nab in the two thousand seventeen draft never played a game for the team. They signed Jerick McKinnon Torres. ACL He's collected more than and twenty one million dollars for the niners without ever playing a single game for the team. This offseason they added. Kevin Coleman from the Falcons who suffered an injury in the first half and that opened up the door from western and most of its story is easy to root for. You heard him talk about it. After the biggest game of his life on Sunday crazy that I've been on seven. Different teams actually still have cut dates every before every game a look at the dates when I got cut not everybody can can deal. Would that type of stressing the pain and agony I went through. I kept the faith to not only myself but whoever gave me the opportunity is organization has done a great job most are made the niners roster as a special teamer at first but after he looked good in limited time last season they gave him a three year extension after playing. Well this season most are just became the first running back. NFL history to top two hundred rushing yards and scored four rushing touchdowns in a single game. That's never happened in the playoffs playoffs before pretty good for a guy who was really an afterthought until the two thousand eighteen season. What's just remarkable? Bill is those two hundred twenty rushing yards. Were nearly three times as many yards as Garoppolo the night as quarterback past for which made for a remarkable stat sheet. There was a point in this football game where according to ESPN stats and Info. Jimmy went ninety four minutes in real time without attempting a pass so I have to ask going into the Super Bowl. Is that a sustainable offensive approach. I mean we all had that friend and in our twenties who got by succeeded solely because they were good looking right now that friend is Jimmy. Garoppolo I mean in the divisional round. He barely through through the football in the conference championship game. He barely through the football. We saw a similar situation with Ryan. Tannehill right over the first two weeks of his post. The season and when Tennessee ran into an offensive juggernaut with the chiefs their offense with Danny Hillis not able to accelerate into a higher gear. Now of course Garoppolo is the one who has to face the chiefs unless the forty niners can shut down the Kansas City. Passing game with their pass rush which isn't out of the question they're going to need to throw the football more quite a bit more. We've seen the niners succeed in games or Garoppolo and to throw the ball at ton with the Saints Win. Maybe as a notable for example but since Garoppolo through that interception against the Vikings in the divisional round cow Shanahan has called seventy one runs against just twelve passes passes even if the niners do end up throwing the ball effectively against the chiefs. It's clear that Shanahan doesn't WANNA put the game on Garoppolo shoulders unless absolutely necessary and that in itself is telling throughout the game bill packers fans were frustrated. Understand police and they seem to be taking out some of their wrath on the coaches arguing. They should have devised better game. Plans to both run the ball more and stop the run and do you think there's anything that Matt Leflore or the Packers Defensive Coordinator Mike Patton could have done differently in this game. Yeah I think so I think to be fair. Shanahan might just ask pedants number. It just felt like you is several steps ahead of the packers defensive coordinator and when pen and tried to adjust it just never seemed to catch up and work there. There was one play I think in the second quarter was a microcosm of everything that went wrong for the packers in this game. They came out in their nickle package with five defensive backs against the forty niners base. He's too back offense which created the size mismatch. The niners pitched the Baltimore and not only did he have a huge hole but he made both safeties with on their tackle attempts downfield win for about thirty yards. pedants struggled to put his players in positions where they could succeed and meanwhile leflore didn't coach like a guy who was a seven point underdog. The packers punted. I believe on their first drive on fourth and one from the fifty yard line. We know the packers are enormously more effective offense with Aaron Aaron Jones on the field but the floor still Jamal Williams their backup running back. Play over thirty percent of the offensive snaps and he didn't really take advantage of move the niners movement Richard Sherman. That was really fascinating during the regular season for the niners and during the vast majority of his time in Seattle Sherman signed up for almost every every snap asked the left cornerback. Defense playing against the right side of the offense. The niners started the game on Sunday. Which chairman on the opposite side of the field on the right side of the defense on the left side of the offense against devante items and while Sharon didn't travel to the left side very frequently? He did do it a few times during the first half. The second half Adams was able to be isolated Sherman over the top for a huge play downfield. I think that played about half of his snaps on either side of the field. I would have liked to have seen for trying to isolate him against German a little more often and take his chances with

"Sense of rookie of the year anyone who watched Nick Bosa this season knows that he was the best defensive rookie in the league now we can have an argument over if he was the best rookie overall in the league offense of players always get favoritism eight away cambiar but Max Crosby the raiders Ricky good year good player I like Max Crosby don't get me wrong but the notion that he was somehow somehow more valuable more impactful than Nick Bosa is ludicrous I don't care what the numbers say Nick Bosa was the number one priority for every opposing offense of coordinator this season and he's a rookie and he's only going to get better and then you see what depot Samuels able to do against the Seahawks and he's only going to get better tiles only going to figure out more ways to utilize him and all of his skills this is a bad dude he wants that smoking he's got some wiggle to yes in the pop on London cambiar cambiar FM San Francisco the sports leader your cart back filling in for Papa who probably needs a couple of days off after call mac game oh boy I can hardly imagine it's hard enough doing some radio after after early morning flight and having to take it in just right off of it Jeez haven't call it emotional roller coaster that must've been for Papa in John deserve some vacation what was your biggest takeaway from the forty Niners when am I wrong wasn't the exorcism that so many are making it out to be they finally beat Russell Wilson and his house and now we can move on to a new era the I don't think so I think that the fact that these two these two teams can play again in a couple of weeks just kind of leave that door open what do you think of arrival what do you think of the defense let's be real how scared were you in the late going to those games in that game how scared were you when they were just throwing to detain Metcalf time after time after time didn't matter who the corner was and how optimistic are you about the forty Niners now going in to the NFC playoffs where they are unquestionably the favorite to represent the conference in the Super Bowl in Miami anyway cambiar of the tax line and the call I something I do want to talk about before we had the break here the forty Niners are are really young team and a lot of people could think that that is going to be their downfall come this postseason but when you watch them over the last few weeks it's clear to me that experience is not an issue whatsoever no they have not had a ton of wraps they are not battle tested year over year but the way that this season ended boy exhausting it feels like the seasons already over it's really just begun in so many ways but the way that they had to fight club ago thirteen and three just to go thirteen and three it feels like this bye week is necessary just a breeze I don't think experience is going to be an issue for this team at all two reasons why.

"I think that what we want to talk about our vise lows the NFL season so far and highs at this point are the Sansko forty niners it's the New England patriots to undefeated teams and then we want to get into Adam gays who want to get into Freddie Kitchens in WanNa get into the Chicago bears those I probably don't need to say are the lows of the nfl let's start with the great teams the teams that are that are undefeated mic Bosa and San Francisco Forty niners so this was so we talked about this last week where essentially both of the undefeated teams have been dogged by this Weirdo they haven't played anybody and eventually as maze I talked about last week eventually you know this is just the NFL they're beating up on these bad teams because there's just too many bad NFL team that's sort of the way things are going right now there's like five good teams that are quote unquote nice schedule winds and then there's twenty-seven teams who are who everyone considers inferior one AA competition Ravin said that the forty niners host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday they win fifty one to thirteen the panthers where the fifth ranked offense in the NFL all fifteen th ranked defense Nick Bosa three sacks three tackles for loss one pass break up and one interception return for forty six yards the forty niners I I I don't feel the need to say there will jit because we already knew their religion you've written about this this was the type of win that I August isn't very analytical this shuts people up oh yeah I mean this is this is what they call a statement when I think the most points they've scored since ninety three or something like that I saw that today Yup yeah type of win where if there was college they would get like twenty more first place votes this week exactly kind of win they wouldn't jump over the Patriots but it'd be getting close yeah I mean this what stood out to you when you just looked at I mean it was as complete performance you can get it turning that stood out that maybe I mentioned already I mean yeah obviously the defense I think has been the foundation that they've been operating on this year they've -pletely remade that front seven I should say the front the Front Line Nick Bosa you know changes everything default has been good deforest buckner is just playing out in elite level still Eric Armstead has been playing really really well as you know two and then I actually saw Solomon Thomas make a really good play today too I mean they've got guys they've got it reminds me a little bit of the rams of old in one sense that they spent several years of like accumulating talent and it's finding all starting to kind of click together her and their defense is looks like a juggernaut and then on the other side of the ball run game is just so dominant You know we saw we saw what they could do today. Seven Coleman really really good they've got like woman baby yeah they've got like four backs that could that could be their starter yeah they're just really really good so they they control the clock they it's such an old school method in you know it's it's funny because in the in the stage when passing is so much more efficient they're kind of breaking that rule that passing more efficient because when you can run with that level of efficiency in that level of explosiveness I mean it just you don't Oh you don't actually really need to pass that much because they've just been doing it sufficiently my favorite maybe event of twenty nineteen so far is field yates tweeted out most pass attempts prior to first career interception history number one is Dak Prescott number three was Kyle Allen after the game yeah Richard Sherman Seen this yet Richard Sherman quote tweeted that tweet which is I'm so happy to have Richard Sherman back in our lives I talked with a couple of weeks ago but just like the thing where he may be made up that thing with Baker Mayfield I'm fine with it leveraged do whatever he wants he's back in the spotlight he's GonNa Talk unquote tweet field Yates tweets about say element Mayo hundred percent on the rich German experience back to hit a piano yeah I know this is a pro Richard Sherman podcast now I think it's really interesting what happens now in the NFC obviously the Green Bay packers won tonight there are no drew breeze comes back with the saints and they look like they didn't miss a beat obviously you know teddy bridgewater is a very good quarterback while he was aperture breezes he's wearing your mind is the pecking order in the NFC and are the niners significantly above those other two teams man that's such a good question I really like The saints still I think the fact that they were able to do what they did go five zero at bridgewater and just Kinda keep going you know keep them momentum going forward I think they are still one of the favorites I would say you know it San Francisco New Orleans one and the packers just slightly below that but with the way that Aaron Rodgers has been playing last couple of weeks there certainly scary I think their defense has taken a little bit of a step back so there may be not quite as balanced as we thought they were but yeah I mean I think those are clear top three teams there's no question about that and then you could you know make arguments for the vikings or whoever but yeah I think those are like the like the cream of the crop for share in then there's a bunch of other teams speaking of the cream of the Crop New England patriots okay so the stats from the NFL the browns I can barely get throughout the browns had turnovers on three consecutive offensive plays against the Patriots that is the first time any team has done so since week one twenty twelve only the seventh time it's been done since two thousand this is not good if you're the browns we're GonNa get to the browns and are very robust stocks downs section a little bit but this patriots team unfortunately this is not kind of the schedule will win that we thought it was going to be you know the niners get there's the browns are not as good as the panthers the browns have been kind of a disaster but this was just another performance Devin mccourty looks like maybe defensive player of the year candidate the defense he just unbelievable in Baker Mayfield after the game said that the Patriots didn't do anything confuse them they were just playing really well yeah and you you kinda wonder like isn't that the worst case scenario for a team is the they're not doing anything new there just being the crap out of you I mean it was amazing when you think about this patriots defense what comes to mind yeah I think a couple of things going to mind number one discipline that's kind of a hallmark of the belichick teams is just being really disciplined like you know obviously Cliche do your job or whatever that's the first thing versatility you know they're able to play it's

Nick Bosa has chance to play in Week 1 despite ankle injury

"Let's hear from John which on that the Nick Bosa update this again for more from that yesterday in talking about whether or not they expect me closer to play week one he's doing awesome he really is I've got a nice perch here where I can look out and I do so each day to watch Nick in his progress and get reports obviously but he really is is healing at at at a really good rate and you know week one is certainly in play not gonna say probable questionable I'm not gonna go there yet because we just aren't to that point yet but he's he's kind of exceeding where we thought he could be so it's definitely a possibility knowing how much he means to this organization and and how well we're looking at this as a as a as a long term proposition you know we were not to rush anything in doing what he does it's one thing to be able to run out here but doing it against a three hundred thirty pound man turning and and all the things that the line has to do is another level but I can say we're very encouraged with the way it's going with Nick so he said we're not just a problem hold on just a questionable but we'll say it's in play for me that means questionable right you may player

Which college produces the best NFL talent?

"A special edition of N._F._l.. Live on deck today at the N._F._l.. Celebrates one hundred season just six weeks away however we are just five weeks away in college. Football Opens It one hundred fiftieth the anniversary so today welcome N._F._l.. You were combining the two worlds to answer age-old question what college produces the best n._F._l.. Talent however I'm Wendy net sand Hutus here you know what's better to be on this panel our expert notice icy expert telling me when Lewis Minute of her panter on the list not on the House for back the quarterback guru he and his brother in a lot of N._F._l.. Games James A lot and Ryan Clark. You see the L. L._S._U.. They are ills college football. L. Is Jonathan Vilma bike. He will join US shortly. He happened to win a National Championship and Oh by the way a super bowl as well coming up on N._F._l.. Live will break down position by position which college produces the best quarterback Oklahoma has the number one overall pick the last two years we have the top ten plays all the N._F._l.. Superstars when they were in college and answering big question which school produces the best all time N._F._l.. Talent we had to ask the players themselves to kick things off. We're the first pick quarterback Oklahoma Viva say Oklahoma Alabama Clemson because proven it is one atop factory the Ohio state highest in Alabama. 'cause I never lost beat out. You really can't understand it into your inside. Sadness programming is all about the you for N._F._l.. Because of Georgia in every aspect but I think L._S._U.. CRESA environment of gray competition and guys is trying to feed off of IT University of Pittsburgh. You Got Dorset. Dan Marina you got Larry. Fitzgerald was not a me show. It's about having everybody involved in working for the Sandal clumps in would cushman he's been doing. He's making people believe everything is possible for House is the best our stop it. Stop stuff well. Let's start shall we with the most players from each college currently in the N._F._l.. Alabama leads the way with V with sixty five players players followed by Ohio state in second place with fifty eight so we're going to debate these schools I in terms of who is best at producing N._F._l.. Challenge here's a tale of the tape on Alabama at Ohio state success since the two thousand draft folks tools I have had thirty one first round picks the most of any school while the Buckeyes have thirteen more total picks in the last twenty drafts but Bama's players have been slightly more successful in the league producing three more pro bowlers than Ohio St Louis Rick. Let's start with with the crimson tide. They're starting eleven if you will offense and defense current N._F._l.. Talent there's any question that these are both very impressive lineups that if Alabama can roll these teams out there right now now. I think they'd win a few games without a doubt. If you look at the offense aside outside of the ball the first thing that jumps out of these starting eleven are the two wide receivers look Julio. Jones is one of the finest athletes in the N._F._l.. For guardless of position he's in the news right now because he's about to get a new contract extension and he's really one of the he's one of the transcendent players at the position that this game the scene Amari Cooper the same way. When Amari came out of college? I remember doing his tape in thinking point honestly as far as catching one pet and run wide receiver. I hadn't seen one as good as him as him. In a long long time on the defensive side look they have fine players throughout the eleven here really that when you get to the secondary and you guys like Eddie Jackson Landon Collins I mean these guys are disband tastic players on the front dont`a hightower our multiple time superbowl winner. These are great great players right here. Make our way to Columbus shower of the to Ohio state you go to the offense side of the football. Look the first thing that jumps out without a doubt as Ezekiel Elliott because if he's not the best running back in the N._F._l.. He would be considered a top three running back in the N._F._l.. Wide Receiver Michael Thomas Really someone who was unheralded coming out of college. He's a tremendous tremendous. Pro will probably be the highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. In short time then move over to the defensive side of the ball this this is where really this football team really kind of jumps off the board starting up Front Joey Bosa Cam Hayward those are two of the best defense alignment in the N._F._l.. Right now and then when you look down there at the Secondary Malcolm Dyson Dinkins Denzel Ward Marshon Lattimore doesn't let's get much better than that. All right Jonathan Vilma made his way again surly qualified to weigh in on this discussion. Look I mean there's a shortage of talent with either of these squads. It's almost ridiculous factory and a lot of ways both of these institutions but let the debate again a Ryan Clark. You can't pick L._S._U.. Just yet but when you look at this group what stands out L._S._U.'s better than both of these things we're gonNA get to that. We're supposed to be talking outlets. Let's be honest. There's amazing players. Neither one of them have a quarterback right before proven yet though little I mean why don't we always have to see something first before we can get you well Ray Richardson running back right you saw God compare that with you why time gentlemen we're GonNa play Nice Got Ninety minutes ago. You're the Glenn Difference from every other position that we're looking at okay fair enough now back to you Louis. It is a production results oriented industry. Is it not so it is fair to say seeing something. Does one believe they'll be success won't sure but I mean we're we'll see this is kind of like a combination of what they have done in college. What some of these guys have done in the pros in some of it's a little bit of projecting about what they're gonNA continue to do in the pros? That's how I'm going to expand it to that all right so at quarterback quarterback Dwayne Haskins I believe right now. There's no comparison as far as I don't care what A._J.. McCarron did it Alabama cows tape. Those Wayne has close exact Haskins is going to be a fine football player. What's going to happen to him? Really is going to be more predicated on what Washington redskins overall due to him then what he does to himself. I firmly believe that as far as these rousers overall look the wide receiver position Julio Jones Amari Cooper. Julio Jones's the standard if you go and look N._F._l.. For an offices and look in their scouting books books every team has a standard at every position that they put for scouts the suit for as far as whenever when their scouting people polio is going to be on that list for for many many teams he's about as good as it gets so skill positions at Alabama are awesome. The defensive players at Ohio State is what stands out for me as far as their front seven is concerned particularly their defensive line and their secondary Denzel Award Marshon Lattimore. You tell me a team that wouldn't take those two young men right now and startled. Let me ask you a specific question since you spend some time as an analyst watching these players at the collegiate level if you had to choose either of this group Alabama Ohio state who's players really got better or who took a bigger step forward than you anticipated when they got to the N._F._l.. Out To you to dance your last part no neither standout. They're pretty equal because watching these guys watching Jonathan Allen he played okay well Dante. I'll tell you knew who is going to be tremendous player defensive player C._J.. Moseley's same thing and then you go to the other side and you look at Joey Bosa Nick Bosa Darren like Malcolm Jenkins. I play with Malcolm Jenkins in in New Orleans knew he was going to be a study. He's Philistine but what is surprising how fast or House they defense is. I did not realize how fast defensive you think big ten you didn't big Brawley guys not so fast but these guys can move joey. Bosa also can move nick volks in Darren League. We know the Burner Malcolm J. Denzel War March. I mean that is a very very talented athletic fast fast defense. I thought I was going to jump in your rookie. I think that's a great question Wendy about as far as what teams teams have players that have gotten better pros. You look at Ohio state this look at their offense. In particular Michael. Thomas was a good wide receiver to hire Stayton. He's fantastic now. He's GonNa be highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. Andrew Norwell most people wouldn't even know Andrew Norwell well what from Andrew Doorbell he right now just judge Moore Norwell can't open open some N._F._l.. Spectacular and even on the defensive side of the ball. I didn't think Marshon lattimore. I've liked Marshon Lattimore at Ohio state. I didn't love Marcet. He has taken his game to another level as well in the really own Alabama side you know how I feel about Alabama I feel nick and what he does and how he builds his program but really focus on their offense align that was just look okay and think about that question. Wendy Wendy asked how many players have gotten better how many have continued to improve Andre Smith may have his best days at Alabama. Dame's carpenter has really been good pro Brian Kelly the jury still out he could be a he's a good player. He's GonNa play already in Indianapolis D._J.. fluker was he ever ever really that guy that dominant guy no. He hasn't been Cam Robinson. Have you seen story so it's interesting because they're preventing people have been many people who've hit Alabama and said they get the best out of their players at Alabama. Maybe it's good discussion legal where people go by what teams there drafted so we look at Michael Thomas he falls into a place where he needs an accurate passer and he's one of the most accurate passers all the time also about the place you land in ashore and how they develop you ask Josh Rosen he absolutely he knows that all too well. I ten Hasselbeck. The whole point of this is to pick one of our producers here a little bit we talked. I'm going Alabama mainly change quarterbacks. Yeah I think looks great point about the offensive line at Alabama because so many of them when you look at them just in terms of body type you're like Oh my God look at those guys body type wise but like I don't know that some of those guys have come in and be like Oh and they got a whole lot better. We're obviously splitting hairs here on this ongoing Alabama Lewis Sorry Nick. Oh from a hustle change your mind or did you stick the way said one because I don't care if between Haskins hasn't played. I think he's I think he's in the saints. Stratosphere is A._J.. McCarron so I like that I liked it their offense of line one of the things that talked about how they develop those guys on the defense aside but they're fun four plus their secondary this going with them Ryan Clark you have to pick one while I was brought here for one reason in one reason only when the Knicks because everyone knew it my answers it would be and what Tim Hasselbeck has proven is. You don't need a quarterback. That's really he's GonNa be Ohio state in Alabama that don't have quarterbacks guess what we don't need a quarterback back and by the way you don't want our first off was good enough for Bill Belichick your boy to draft him as Tom Brady's heir-apparent draft. We thought they they went to L._S._U.. Because this guy has what they decided to we throwing the ball all around the field Andrew Whitworth he's played a thousand years. There's a Guy Jerry go look at the Neil hundred may has like negative two percent body fat Michael Broncos out. There aren't key. We gotta wait on them but it's are are you at the back of position. That's all we got mad. I gotTa get here all even have to work conviction when you spoke scissors. I'm sorry I just so tim. I love your twenty. Two question your toughness Whoa West I've seen because as you know what fair enough he's at Alabama alum landon dare you wait into the circus that we've created. But what do you have to say about this. Whole debate ain't Ryan got some good good good stuff going on say? I wouldn't question his toughness at all. I don't know why you questioned Ryan toughness. I saw him not got a lot of Alabama's always number one no matter Corolla tyrod. Let me ask you a serious question. You know obviously nick. Sabin is a hall of Famer one of the best ever coach this game but specifically what does he do that has allowed such historic success at the university. Steve Alabama <hes> as a coach he speaks for as a coach. He represents his players as players coach. I would say he makes all this coach. All the players are on the him as a player as a father <hes> <hes> and as a as many tried to teach us they'd be a man and a great play all at one time you know so he does it all leading. Can you please tell the people why you are now better that you have trusted your career training with the guy from L._S._U.. Hey right you agreed trying to grow been gone on gone for years

Nick Bosa: I Will 'Keep My Opinions to Myself' After Criticism of Old Tweets

"And then there's the story about Nick Bosa and Nick Bosa has praised President Trump. He's called Colin Kaepernick clown in tweets later deleted. He's also admitted the possibility of landing in San Francisco prompted him to curtail his social media activity and on Wednesday. He sounded as if he's done sharing his conservative opinions quote. I'm just getting ready for the draft. I'm not really worried about Twitter anymore. I think the people who know me know, who I am. And I'm going to keep my opinions to myself from now on he's tweeted things in the. The past like beyond say sucks. Stuff that I mentioned earlier, that's not hill. That's really necessary. But here's the thing. These are opinions. Right. We have the freedom to express our opinions. We're doing right now on the radio people. Do it at the water cooler peop-, the water cooler is now Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Right. Is it really that big of a deal that this guy is definitely leaning to the right? And that he should should this affect his his livelihood in any way. No. I think the bigger issue is that he feels he has to get rid of it. Because of the backlash say everybody has nothing raises or a legally. Yep. Yeah. It's not a race league. Tom Brady, a big fan of Trump's and nobody says anything him if he wants to put them up there. That's a great point. Yeah. I think he was more concerned because he's going to eat thinks he's going to San Francisco, which is the bastion of liberal. It's yeah. Like moscow. Yeah. And he's. Comrade? Have you read the paper day worried? But he races. Because once you put them onto it is there somebody that's true. It's not coming off. They're going to see it again, just say, hey, how and some of the tweets like when he was in high school, and, you know, come on, man. Yeah. I agree with you. If somebody says something that's racist or defamatory, something like that. If you like just go after someone like, you know in a brutal mean-spirited way. Yeah. That's gonna come out to buy. It's funny because now I've got a twenty one year old son. He's a junior college. And I got a twenty three year old daughter who happens to be a teacher, and my daughter has a Twitter page for work, and then she has her own private Twitter page with just a handful of followers that she uses for her own stuff. But on neither page will you find anything that's remotely close to being controversial, exactly. But the the point is is that I kind of beat this into their heads. Because of what I do for a living. Because I'm on the radio. And I know these things you put it out there. It's never coming back. It's like you said, Ken, you can delete the tweet, but somebody's got a screen shower somewhere. Always. And you do have to do that. You have to be careful about I always think, you know, there's many tweets that I have not sent I've wanted to say, well, you're just like somebody up. But then I think too I really want to deal with the blowback. No forever. Exactly. Yeah. We'll Blaine in two thousand eleven you tweeted out, blah, blah. Well, yeah. It was two thousand eleven and this was happening. And that's why I felt that way. I I don't know. I kinda have mixed feelings about it. Because I think we should all be able to say whatever you want to say, nobody gets mad at calling capital, or at least the people who are mad at this guy aren't mad at calling capper. Nick, right run. They have no problem with Colin expecting expressing his opinions. But this guy who has opinions that opposed. There's well. He's he's terrible because he's conservative. He's worried about he hasn't got glass. Yeah. So he really doesn't know what would have happened. But if it became world famous when you I was grilled all my tweets, just in case, would you know, what I said ten years ago, you know, what I'm just saying they have people that just go back and look at everybody tweets was some guy last year, and he would hold a baseball. From when he was any no hitter. Yeah. So they got people just go back to try to find something. I would I was growing those. If you don't have it locked by

Hour 2: Mel Kiper Jr's NFL draft predictions

"Mel kiper junior into the show. What's up melt? Hey, guys, how you doing? Good. All right. So number one overall. Mel you have Nick Bosa going to the cardinals. You've heard the things cliff Kingsbury has said about collar Murray, he's a big fan. But he's also said Josh Rosen is our guy. So how confident are you about the cardinals going Bosa at one do guys with a mock draft you call around and you get different opinions. You try to build some type of a consensus. Steve drafted Josh Rosen. I thought he held his own for getting no help you seems like the players in that locker ROY believe in him you move forward. Josh Rosen would have a higher grade than any quarterback in this draft. If you go basically apple apple, and you try to reject a year with a year experience where they would be. But I think they're happier with Josh Rosen than they would have been a quarterback including Tyler Perry. Tyler Murray is still five nine five ten and size body type or still some things at the combine and pro day, and he's going to have to answer to give up on Josh Rosen and go that direction. I don't see it happening based on the people have spoken to. So I went with both. Over Josh Allen. That's going to be the debate the trait outta there. Do you tape boasts Allen right now, it seems like Bosa may be the lead who knows internally with their thinking. But trading out of there for team. Let's go out and get Askins. Maybe something maybe interested in listening to Mel. I'm very surprised by that draft. Order Nick Bosa is the is the foolproof, right? He's going to be a stud, but people felt that way about Nick last year. Sorry, Bradley Chubb last year, he's the best Pash rusher by so much you might as well, get them. There question marks about everyone including including. Cleveland Browns quarterback acre Mayfield, including Gregor Mayfield. Sam darnold everyone. So they're going to go, Bradley choke with not only didn't go Bradley Chubb. They went to the talented quarterback, you know, out of the big twelve who they had questions about right? Isn't that Keiler Murray this year, and isn't Nick Bosa basically, Bradley up? Well, Trump had a great year and shove ended up going to a team that utilize him and put him out there with Miller and he's a tremendous player. Tremendous young man, he's going to have a huge future and the ratio that I think when taken the war, Denzel word overcharged was what Cleveland was kind of debating there. Do you take the corner the pass rusher and put him opposite Garrett? They thought Ogbeh would come on. He didn't. But that was a decision obeyed word played well till he got hurt. I think we look at at Murray Murray is different in that he's five nine and a half. He's not six foot and a half to twenty like Baker Mayfield was and is I think that body type when you think about we've never seen before we've seen Baker Mayfield types. Okay. Before we haven't seen Cuyler Murray fight go this SARS, no conflict Kyle Murray. Guys. There's none. So I think we've talked. The number one pick four pick even a first round pick for that matter. I've at thirteen to Miami you've never seen this ever happened before. So I think some answers may become at the combine when you see him as he looked like he can hold up. It looks those guys in the eye. Does he looked like an NFL quarterback putting on a board? You know, it's football IQ should be really good the hand size people. Always look at that nine is that is that there you can do it or you can't will see hand size with collar Murray comes in at so still some things that'd be determined the answers. I got back from that question. This week is was leave Cuyler Murray at thirteen don't move him up that seems to be fair for right now in the process is that you say that Mel just this morning. We learned we got some news. Peter King was speak into Lincoln Riley, the coach at OU, and he said that ninety one percent of the past column Murray through from the pocket while at OU last season ninety one percent of this passes were from floor from Nepal. So when you look at him in comparison to Dwayne has its handicap that us was break that down. What makes? What one quarterback better than the other for the next level in light of that ninety one percent there column, right? That's a great point. Because I think you look at how do you compare? I don't remember one man's L came out. I said he's a wild card even out liar. I don't know what he's going to be Baker Mayfield. Last year was the wildcard big three. We knew it was Josh Allen Sam darnold. Josh Rosen maker Mayfield was the wild card this year the wild card again is Kyle Murray. So you compare him to Haskins asan's as a traditional guy. Everybody knows what you're getting there. Even though he was one year as a starter. We don't know we're hoping I think if you draft him say at thirteen or wherever in the first round, you hope that today's NFL okay with the shotgun so deep getting that shotgun snap not under center, basically in space Todd mcshane's but talking about the statute great set more passes batted down for six foot and over quarterback than six foot and under quarterbacks like Cuyler Murray. So today's NFL makes this happen. It's kind of the perfect storm for him coming out at the right time and the right situation. So there's going to be able to protect his body. He can slide. We know that we know how lightning quickie. Yes. That is in the back. Of his Eddie senses things that nobody else. Can't you mentioned the pocket of build? That's underrated part. He will sit in that pocket. He will wait he'll go through progressions. And he's tremendously accurate. His completion percentage. Was right. Where Mayfield was and he accounted for more touchdowns this season. The Baker Mayfield did during his great year two seasons ago. So I said three months ago collar Murray six foot tall five eleven. It's no discussion. He's the number one pick. But at five nine and a half, it makes it interesting. So let's go to the other quarterback that people are talking about many projected to the giants including you at sixth Wayne Haskins. You said something interesting to me earlier, you said that that Sam darnold. Did you say Sam darnold would've sorry? Josh Rosen would've graded out as the best quarterback in this draft to me Dwayne Haskins looks like a better prospect than Josh Rosen or even probably Sam darnold does not as mobile as Sam darnold. How what do you think of where does Haskins rate and all this? Why wouldn't you give him a great underwear? Josh Rosen was less. Year. Well, they were better quarterbacks coming out. I think that those guys were elite we had talked to years ago about those guys even before they were in the draft that they would have come out earlier. They would have been highly. They were they were considered special. And they said back in August prior to those kids coming out last year that in August that it wouldn't set up well for those and they were Josh Allen, Los everything around them. Sam darnold loss a lot around him. And Josh Rosen was that UCLA where they didn't have a ton of talent. So it wasn't set up for those guys to live up to all the hype in terms of the numbers and the way they were expected to take over and dominate gains and be spectacular. So people were kind of wondering over radium. No, you weren't there. Great quarterbacks. And I thought the people in the league is that these guys this year be thankful if you're those teams you got those quarterbacks they're better and every team in the first round from Lamar Jackson won the Baker and everybody in between those guys are thrilled to have. And they don't have to worry about this Dwayne Haskins a one year starter. That's it. And he had a little trouble struggles rowing the Penn State game. But I like the fact he got better. He learned a seems like he's going to be all in to be a quarterback. He loves the challenge and the pressure that comes from being a quarterback. But so criticism of him to say those guys better those guys were considered super elite and special entities for a two year period. So that's not a critique Dwayne Haskins or or taking a shot. Joe Dwayne Haskins on that's a fair thing to say those three. And then you throw Baker Mayfield John Dorsey number one. Look what happened. He emailed that pick. They can own that division for the next ten years because of this draft and because of getting Baker Mayfield Bubills love Josh ninety five and five they weren't a games. He started to finish. You can Nate Sam darnold. Look what he did in the last month of the season. Look around more Jackson games. He wants those teams guys are thrilled that they know they got the right quarterback for a long long time. And hopefully for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson the passing has improved. But from from winning, and the attitude they're all in on the March access by those teams are really happy where they are right now quarterback

Nick Bosa Urban Meyer Ohio State new age player power

"Drop out of school. And prepare for the NFL draft. He's not going to make an effort to come back this season. He's not going to try to get back in time for the bowl game or anything like that. He's going to he's not only quitting the team. He's dropping out of school altogether. And he's just going to prepare for the draft. And his coaches fine with it. Urban Meyer who also let him sit out a bowl game last year to protect himself because he didn't want to injure himself for the NFL draft was cool with that too. So are we reaching a new level here in college football in particular, where not only are they playing college football to get to the NFL? But now in some cases, they're not playing college football in order to get to the NFL new Loman creeping to that point. I remember miss year ago two years ago, Leonard fournette and McCaffrey to running back from Sanford didn't play in their bowl game to protect their draft. As remember these guys were big. Didn't last right. But these guys like they just made your bullets if they were the first ones to do it. Then both did it last year. So that was a creep in a little bit. Now. Now, you got creep, and I can see a guy leaving if the team is to in eight or whatever, and you know, why come back. I'll just get ready stations continue for national championship there. Right in the mix. This team could be ready to go. Download school. He's people to game the scholarship. He's lend down. He's letting everybody down and the coaches lesson go away. I don't think. That's right. Well, this right, depending on who you believe this comes from his father. So I don't know. He's saying that his recovery would take so long that he wouldn't be back in time for the bowl game. Anyhow, I don't know if that's true or not his father is a former player in the NFL who had his career ended after three years because knee injuries. So he's obviously very sensitive to this. And he wants to get his kids into the NFL and get paid before an injury might happen. And here an injury has already happened to Nick Bosa to me the other part of this. You didn't even mention Kenny is that he just dropped out of school. So I mean how obviously he could care less about going to college. There's nothing nothing in his core injury. That would keep them from getting to class, right, buddy. Say well, what's the point of being in school? If I'm not gonna play football. It is October. Okay. The draft isn't until April. But I just think that this is more and more just becoming glaringly obvious point that college topnotch college players are only there. There to get an NFL career. And now, they don't even have to play pretty soon. Kenny, it's going to get to the point. They're already missed the bowl games. If injured I'm not gonna go. What happens if you're you're really great all American player. But for whatever reason your team is foreign foreign. You say, you know, what we're not going anywhere. We're gonna get in some crap bowl game that I don't care if I go to or not I'm not playing the last two games of the season. I'm just gonna sit it out. Right. I don't need to give back from some urban Meyer, probably fine with that. Because what is urban Meyer ultimately interested in next year's he's already paying. And if he if he looks like the kind of guy who will get you to the NFL, no matter what he's gonna get that five star recruit. So that's why he's cool
