"A lot worse if plumlee is your backup pick. That's for sure. Yeah, if he's your backup, you're probably a really good show. Yeah. You know, I think he gets beat up on a lot 'cause he's not a very good defender. But he can rebound. His finishing is good around the room. Can't you free throws or worth a crap? I think he was 39% for the season, which is pretty horrible. But he's a pretty good passer too. He's a guy you can run some stuff through. It's funny, one of the things that we're talking a lot about over on Celtics blog is what a targets for the team. And he's a guy I've said, you know, we have horse even worse. If that was the way you used it, one of the TPs was to go get mason plumlee. Not the end of the world. That'd be okay as a backup big. You know, he fits in because you can run some of the offense through him and do ask him to do some of the same stuff you ask the other guys to do, but yeah, he's a little overmatched as a starter, but he had under 9.1 million. That's good high end backup money and I don't think it's a problem. Yeah, I don't think so. I think you're fine there. And again, only one more year on the contract. And that's important when we talk about a guy like him. Like, it's not like you're committing long-term salary. Staying with Charlotte, the hornets are looking at Gordon Hayward trade Keith. I know you had the same initial thought about this that I had about the Deandre ayton news about the sun's trying to get the 8th pick and the draft and move off of salary. Like a Cameron Johnson in order to free up a little bit of room for Deandre sons don't have to do that. That's just being cheap. You had the same reaction to the Charlotte hornets looking to move Gordon Hayward and perhaps attaching a first round picked him in order to do so. They don't have to do that. And I'm sorry, I missed the key point there, was in order to sign an extension with miles bridges. That's not a qualifier for signing an extension with miles bridge. They could sign it without doing any of that. No problem. It's just, it just costs a little bit more money. Yeah, they have his full bird rights. It's just going to cost some money. The other thing that's the sun's one is bothersome because you're a title contender. So you should be willing to go into the tax. The hornets I get it, they're like, hey, we don't want to pay the tax because we're not sure this team is that level of good. They could do this without paying the tax, too. And that's what's really annoying to me. It's like you're now getting cheap when there's no reason to get cheap. Yeah, if you could get off Gordon Hayward steel at the expense of the 13th or 15th pick, fine, like at all. I mean, great, more power to you. You know, I mean, at this point, the challenge did it's really unfortunate it is. When Gordon Hayward plays, he's actually pretty good. You know, he can shoot, can pass, dribble, he can do a lot of different things for you. Problem is the only place about 50 games a year. Yeah. That's not worth $30 million. It just isn't. That's too much to be paying. And that was the problem when the hornets swooped in and kind of blew up anything Boston in Indiana had going on or just Boston. And I said this just yesterday. This is why this I'll fix you sitting at $100 million over four years. That's our top end for Hayward. I locking in at that number. That was huge because that will match the one 20. That's franchise crippling. And on top of that, remember the hornets did a waving stretch with Nicholas batum. And we're going to get to in a minute in order to do this. So in reality, I'm like 40. Yeah, you were paying them almost 40 million. That's what your actual cost was to have him on your roster because what you had to do in order to get the room to sign him, we questioned that at the time. And now there's a lot of money. Now, to not only pay him that much to now have to potentially just burn a future asset up first round pick in order to move that salary off. It's not great. If you have to do what you do it, but I don't want to hear people saying, well, you had to do it because that's the only way you could resign. Miles purchase because it's absolutely not true. Then if that's the case, just be honest and say, we don't want to pay the tax, which I will have far more respect. For a team that is honest and just as we don't want to pay the tax, then a team that then makes up all these other things about this is why we really had to do these moves. Now, just tell the truth. Yeah, yeah, you don't need to spin it. We can see through that. Yes. Very easily sometimes. All right. Nicholas batum, opts out 3 million in change, would have been his contract for this year. Not a surprise at all. We've talked about supply and demand on the wing market. Demand is high, supply is very low. PJ Tucker doing the same thing here. And again, I think even if they weren't in that environment where supply is low and demand is high for wings, I still think that's an underpay for Nicholas platoon, but given just the reality of this specific market this year, it's a no brainer for him to opt out and see what's out there. Now, I do think he probably stays with the Clippers, but we've already heard a number of teams that have been connected with him or at least would be interested in him. Keith, I know you have the full list, but off the top of my head, it's the Lakers, the clippers, of course, the jazz, the sons, who else was in there. I know I'm leaving. Old in the Celtics. Bulls in the south. You know, it's from cursing. Shopify is the all in one commerce platform to start, run, and grow your business. "Like, what does that mean? And so I look over at south and I'm like, is he saying? Seth being Seth curry. He's saying good sub. And I was like, oh, this mother, this guy really thinks that I'm the reason why. Like, that's how it was a little bit. So that's like the boogeyman aspect of it. The athletic cited multiple sources who claimed bob was dictating lineups and rotation patterns to head coach Rick Carlisle directly. Bob denies this, but he says players kept alluding to his influence over the roster. He's also a guy who came up to me and he was like, yo, I'm still here. I know you've been trying to get rid of me all year and I'm still here. And I was just like, what has this guy talking about? He's a 12, 13 man on the roster, why would I try to get rid of him? I didn't. And so I was like, well, no, that's not true. In fact, I actually had sent an email saying, hey, he's a freaking locker room guy. Like if I have a vote in this, I'm not sure I do. I would advocate keeping him over keeping the other guy in the funding. I think it was Ryan broke off. So I was like, no, that's not true. And then they responded with, well, why not even trying to trade Jalen all year? And I was just like, what? This is Jalen Brunson. Yeah. And I was like, who told you that? And he's like, well, I know that. And then he told me how he knew. And look, I like Jalen Brunson, Jalen Brown sounds a great player. When I look at our roster, we had very few tradable assets that other teams would value. But to say that I was trying to trade him is not true at all. But I think what happened one time as the previous draft. I was trying desperately to how can we get, we didn't have a draft first round draft pick, and I was like, how can we get a first round drop? We want to get in this draft. There's a play where I wanted to draft with these title. I think one of the guys was like, we just can't get a first round pick. It's impossible. Unless we change jail and run something and they start laughing and I was just like, wait, I mean, can we think about that for a second? I'm not saying I want to, but can we think about that for a second? That was, I think, where the impetus came where people now thought I was actively trying to trade Jalen Brunson, which I really wasn't. I just thought, oh, if we can get a wing defender, we're deficient wing defenders. By the way, wing defenders are the most valuable commodities in the league. I was trying to get Robert Covington a couple of years prior to that. For a first round pick, we didn't have any first round picks. There's more guards in the world than there are 6 8, 6, 7 wings. So I'd never had a curve to me that people would be talking about stuff like this. How would you want to tell a player this, even if your purpose is to make me the villain? You're still messing with this person's psyche. And it's a human being who has to perform at a high level. How is that helping him perform? It kind of alerted me to the fact that this is something that I'm not necessarily cut out for in the sense that I don't want to be a part of this type of thing. Unless I'm in charge of everything I can control the whole of it. But that's all different story. The notion that bob vulgaris, this outsider turned insider was now trying to banish people from the team. That was apparently a recurring theme during his time there, and also a running joke. In fact, one of the first in person meetings bob had with Rick Carlisle was remarkably blunt along those lines. One day coach Carlisle pulls up in a meeting is like, you know, bob tried to get me fired in 2010. I was just like absolutely floored by this. Like, what is this guy talking about? It turned out, coach Carlisle was referencing an email bob had sent to owner Mark Cuban, back when bob was working for the team as a remote consultant back in 2010. In the email bob says, he'd questioned the team's defensive strategy against Portland's Andre Miller, who had just scored 52 points against the Mavs. He remembers it's fucking email from 2000 from 11 years prior and so the next day I went and found the email and I was like, is this the email you're talking about? Yeah, that's the one you tried to get me fired. I was like, there's nothing in here. Bob says the email was actually pretty innocuous and that Carlisle was clearly joking with him messing with him. The coach had already signed off personally for the record on hiring bob to this new full-time role. But I wanted to better understand how their work relationship actually worked. Well, I'm curious though what he wanted from you what Rick actually did value that you were providing how you were adding value what edge you were, you were giving him. And how that applied, especially in the postseason. Like, how would you work with him on that? Just no normal stuff. Like this is what I think. These are the lineups I think that'll work against this player. This matchup. But just like here, here are some suggestions. Bob felt like some of his most crucial suggestions related to how the Mavericks matched up against the LA clippers, who they faced in the first round of the playoffs, both of the past two seasons. Even going back to the previous year, my nightmare was that they would go small versus us. We never defended well versus a small team. We never had the ability to punish a team that went small versus us. There's been there was numerous occasions throughout the year. You can go back and look at them where our team went closed small versus our predominant our average lineup our normal lineup go to lineup. And we just had trouble defending them. So that was kind of the stuff that I would bring up just different scenarios. What players match up really well? Like we had a situation where someone in my department actually noticed this, one of the film guys in my department. Notice that they put Nicholas batum on Jalen Brunson and that was it. We just couldn't get we had to get him off of that matchup because Nicholas platoon did a really good job defending Jalen Brunson. So can we stagger Jalen's minutes so he's not if he's there? Can we try to get him off? Can we put another play out who Nicholas platoon be forced to guard? Those are the types of things you do, but that's that's not unique to me or that's just what I am guessing analytics departments do. I think I'm different because I believe I have a long history of predicting these sorts of things and being profitable. So I just presented information and I wasn't in the meetings. I wasn't around. It was all done over email over telephone with coach Carlisle. He would always initiate the conversations. I would send it off. And we would talk a lot. I mean, we definitely had a good working relationship, we would talk a lot. One especially pivotal topic of conversation, especially around that clipper series would be kristaps porzingis, the 7 foot three center who came to the Mavericks in 2019 after Donny Nelson sent two first round draft picks to the Knicks in a huge multiplayer trade. Porzingis had been acquired to be the second star in Dallas, alongside Luka Dončić, but come playoff time on offense. Porzingis was conspicuously asked to stand off in the corner. I'm curious specifically with this team. How does Kristi porzingis fit into how you saw this team functioning at its best, particularly in the postseason? Kristaps has a lot of talent. He's a great, I enjoyed a good working a good relationship with my friendly and asking questions about crypto et cetera. I like him as a person. I like them as a basketball player. I just thought that that once they went small, we had to approach offense a little bit differently. It's not about making Chris apps a decoy. It's whoever the fuck Kauai is guarding me to space out because we need Kauai away from the action as much as possible. If you can have him away from the ball, that's a win. That was the genesis of it. So it's not like, oh, he's not playable on the playoffs he's not playable versus the clippers. It's like, here's how we can optimize his and that's just my opinion on it and the coaching staff might have a different opinion, whatever, but I do believe that it was very difficult to involve him in the offense a lot in ways that were beneficial to him when Kawhi Leonard was guarding him unless he was faced out. Bob was not afraid to have bold opinions about basketball. Porzingis was just one example of that. Anyone who used to follow him on Twitter can remember many others. So I asked bob about the larger tension here around not only his message, which he always backed up with evidence, but around him specifically, as the messenger. I think the thing I always think about, especially like the whole COVID team is like, someone like me like the body out like I was going to I created like an immune response for these basketball life racks. Like me being injected into their nervous system or the environment, just like.

"We were looking out for our shareholders. Take care about profits. Not people learn more at polluters dot exposed. Welcome to the undisputed podcast. I'm your host johnny. Taft this podcast is a condensed version of today's episode of undisputed handpicked with the best segments and discussions skip shannon. Let's go nba two k. Twenty two earliest player ratings and just like with annual madden video game ratings. Some players are taking issue with the rankings. Lebron katie on steph. We're all tied the highest rated player with an overall grade. Ninety six durand said he thinks he should be nineteen hind and even lebron went on twitter and said the nets forward deserved to be ninety nine overall as well. So shannon is lebron. Admitting katie is better than him. No just because you complimented player doesn't mean that you think he's better than you. Lebron need to clap in pat himself on the bank. Says i need to be on ninety nine. Kevin and kevin durant right. I believe kevin durant should be a ninety nine but it seems to me kind. Kinda tighten it down with the ratings because no one has been a ninety nine. If i'm not mistaken since two thousand fourteen they used to give out hundreds and kevin kevin garnett got one hundred. Tim duncan got one hundred one hundred one year in two thousand nine. Lebron got a hundred. They've been really really dingy with the ratings. They're not as a junior waiting. Like they are in football's get we see a couple of guys. Think aaron rodgers with a pet mojo's ninety nine and in devante with a ninety nine and hot with a ninety nine. Byu with ninety nine. But that's not how they do in basketball. They got what four guy. What a ninety six grade spill lebron katie yanni's So for me. I do believe that they okay should be ninety nine. I do believe that. But i don't believe because the is complimenting him that he's like okay. Lebron does need a grading first of all even in football. These guys get so carried away. Man my fees. You'll be i. can i buy that. Because whatever you're rating you ain't got to do with how you are playing with that. Get your you so whatever your defensive rating was whatever what i care nothing about that. I think about my rating okay. So if katie should be a ninety nine says shannon sharpe. What should your man. Lebron both should be ninety nine ninety nine droplets at ninety eight. Ninety eight uses steph. Ninety okay to me. When i first saw that lebron had actually acknowledged that kevin should be ninety nine. I was like okay finally. We're getting someplace then. I saw that he also said that steph should be ninety nine well now. You have disqualified that because now just false humility. because you're basically saying just because they can both shoot. Their video game superstars right. So he's saying in the context of the video game just because they can shoot the lights out one unstoppably for mid rise one basically unstoppably except when he misses from deep right. So he's saying they are video games superstars deserving of ninety nine but he also saying between the lines. I'm still the better basketball player. that's what i think. Fayette yup stop trying to skim. Even look at tom brady. Tom brady might have a high rating. The lamar jackson but when they get on a game they played with lamar jackson because he can do things on the game. That brady cain. That's what i just said. okay. I got it. But that doesn't mean that doesn't mean lamar. The better player but lebron is not a better player in his sport than brady is in his sport because often brady any day or night over lebron because brady is clutch simple as that broad clutch. No clutch like tom brady. When he's just winning super bowl after super close that he can he impacts nothing on defence. You brought up. That's the format at the game. Rules credit credit for what you know being four goals in the finals for being i do think that deep down lebron does know that kevin is just better than he is at this stage. In this age. Kevin has risen and shown in taking over olympics after olympic. Don't we determine. Now using that now didn't do skip. I'm trying to figure out why you didn't do that. In two thousand twelve because we were loaded navy blue said it was k. Deer mouse rice. You do realize that everybody would accept it or maybe two guys have been an all star so we were still. We were wounded. And why did you say after. We lost those first two exhibition games to who was it australia. And you loved opening game two. Freon in what was shannon. Sharpe saying at that point. I think we're in some trouble redid scale of one to ten trouble after the i g losses. I believe you were at an eight right yes. I'm just trying to figure out what has caught up to us. We're not big enough. We're not tall enough. We can't rebound and we have a solo star skill. You beat a team. You got ten all stars. Minute was only ten dollars in freight you beat france by five points with three all stars. No number one dr rudy gobert three nba player tunes. Pretty good all star. He's never had will. He will let me tell you what they say yada. Who's watching nick. -tunities coach say son. If you keep working hard you could be good as nicholas. John turn to him and say is. I'm only as good as that. I'm going back to greece. And that's what. John is thought of nicholas platoon. And you want to try to hype it up because you wanna play katya katya. Don't need you to play him. J. d. historically great detainees should have been a ninety nine in the game. But because lebron's fans that that does not mean lebron that meeting katie is lebron. Just doesn't need to say i'd need to be a ninety nine. And because that has no bearing on whether or not lebron thinks of oh how he perceives himself last time i saw katie versus lebron actually and lebrons house and game threes cages took it over. Because he's just better skew. If you look at the game that you say it was better. Lebron the hit game. Three lebron was forty two twelve and nine. You hit the shot of about one shot. Is that what you're saying. Who is the. John is so in other words for what you're saying because kevin durant did what he did in this house. Jaanus the best player because you throw is dedicate. The in was janas playing against lebron james. Now get qualified unless you so anybody to see this. What i'm starting to see about you. Anybody that does something. Great against abroad elevates them above lebron because we saw what does the indicate the ila gainesville but in his building who played better in that. Seven game series kevin durant or janas. Who played better. Who played better the mvp. That series was runaway. Kevin runaway hollow. Go back and look at two thousand seventeen thousand eighteen and look at the stats. Lebron average more points more rebounds. Morpheus had more steel shot a high field goal percentage than kevin durant. So we'll do it like that. Who played better. He averaged more points more rebounds. More this moorefield shot a percentage. Actually kevin durant played better teammates all the shots that matter the most because the most efficient score. I have so much about when you make that. That's the shot. I just wanna make sure. I'm here you yes given about playing better or did about winning. Well it's both. They go hand in hand. Obviously janis onto the colombo he won. It's only because kevin durant his his tiny excuse. The tip of his toe was on the three point line. Or we'd be having conversation youth. Why you're talking about a clutch. Why you think are clo- close club. Arrest my restaurant and turn them into aloun. I got that uses. Excuse me because he kept coming into that without excuses. And i didn't have aided so i just turned it into allowed. People could come came back and helping them a good old time. Don't get this. i'm let you.

"Eastern today when people for the first time can talk to free because it would be tampering if they talked to them before anyway. What we're hearing is gore. Garage opted into his deal with the heat which then would allow them to trade him to somebody else. And kyle lowry be somebody. Perhaps he could do a sign and trade with. I don't know if this puts them up there with the nets and bucks. Because i don't know how good the heat are. The team that went to the championship round that went to the finals is not the team that we saw for most of last season. But i don't know which of those teams is actually the real one. I do know this though. If you're dealing with kyle lowry jimmy butler every night. Boy go be playing some long games against those dues. This is going to be a team that is going to be physical and put their will on you in that way. They got a good top lot of the roster. They have those guys. They're they've got a strong organization. They've got a place that people ultimately do want to play. They could wind up being up there with those teams. They give them a push in a series. Does it make them as good as those teams. I don't know yet. In case you're listening on the podcast. Bomani was winking during that first portion of his answer meeting these players and teams that have been talking all season but this sort of takes me to direction. This conversation is one is going towards next year. If you look at the miami heat with bam jimmy butler and the addition of kyle lowry potentially and maybe throw in like nicholas. Platoon was another guy. Who's been linked to them. Yeah that's a pretty good group of players throw dunkin robinson in there as a starting five. I like what i'm looking at their. Can they compete with honest and the bucks in the nets of defensively. They can. They've already shown they can give your honest nightmares beating them a couple of years ago in the playoffs and so it becomes a question. Mark there back in the conversation if you will but if you look at what pat riley had planned for this off season. This was supposed to be the big honest. this was supposed to be. Hey honest either gets traded to us last year or we signed him this year for agency. Well that's not an option anymore and now you're talking about kyle lowry. Then there's that idea of maybe teaming. Up with dhamar rosen again in miami. That's quite the fall from jaanus and having a super duper team in miami once again. So we'll next year. Will they be a top four team if these things come through. Yeah absolutely is that what they had hoped for when they signed jimmy butler and said we're going to get you another whale probably not yet just seems to be a classic case of over promise and under deliver in this one the anti stugatz so to speak by the miami heat. I'd say this definitely does not put them in the same category as those top two teams and especially not after this year like yes. I think with every sport going through the last year and change and with the nba. You've got to kind of lump two seasons into that it's going to be this weird exercise of how much of any of this can..

"But i mean really. This is the first oh yes. It has to distract from this little penalty for vanguard and please go on. What sixty percent very impressive and not as the twenty four free throws at this team may twenty four twenty four and game seven but in general. This is the beginning of the journey for this unit. You can't exercise demons if you don't get to the place where you guys were assembled to get. They're going to have their hands full in the next. So no demons. Exercise infrared guy solo. Speaking of we go to the idea they exercise. Demons is patently absurd franchise. That's never made it to a conference finals. They were in the second round last year. The idea is to get first ever conference finals. But as ramona brought up you know some of the little things that happened out there marcus. Morris seventh reports. Nicholas platoon larry. Brown was you said we need bowl. Moore's that was nicholas Gets the ball. He gets the ball he moves it and then twenty four twenty four from the free throw line and then how about thirty assists. Eight turnovers for the clippers. That's how you win. Close out games. Give them credit winning that game. Six big but they're this is a cheaper together when a championship. Not be dallas in the first ramona. You brought up toronto blue and what he brought to the team this year. 'cause so much attention was out who is gonna coach. This team doc. Rivers left would look nine into an elimination games. Tyron loom a little moves in there. And i think you get credit for those moves but you also get credit for setting the tone and helping them not panic because believe me. They should have panicked j. baby there was appropriate. I y indictment on you because our at this junction in time you now have a responsibility to be a leader on the court and to be the leader vocally as well. Two scoreboards board in the box score scoreboard in a brain coup. Why you've been granted grace over the course of your career for not being a vocal leader but now is starting to rear. Its ugly head coach. I'm disappointed in him because in this kind of game. There's no way that. If i would have done this lebron done his. If dame would have done this if any other player we refer to as an all star or superstar have done this. No no no they would have got look at me trying to start off another segment and coordinated and stuff katie. Look at your face about the go there. Who's supposed to win this series clippers play. George is supposed to beat luka doncic whoever else he wants to play with that day desks the problem. Why are we neutralizes. Especially when the claw kawais be clutch. I dunno year. So i don't even want to really take that many shots at all but we're luca has another bad fourth quarter like he needed. Think about it two points in the fourth quarter now. Yeah forty. You're going into this. He wouldn't bother me but two points in the fourth quarter score four points or fewer in the fourth quarter of four of the five games. He went down. And it's okay. Because he gives you so much you talk about running at four hundred to three hundred. Everybody's still on the backstretch. He's so i'm a win this even if i cruise down the stretch problem is quite asher. Time to shock. Kuwa- you're supposed to be mr floor quarter bounce on the rim eight different times it. Make the shot in advance and get your championship. Where's coup why litter interns of clutch moments. I'm not talking about. Plus production talks the impact much. I think kawhi is proving. He can't do both do both. He can't lead by play and lead eighteen. I'm thinking like we we. Nobody said it. 'cause we all like why and kawai plays great on offense. Plays great on defense. We started to make the comparisons to jordan. But i think hawaii has proven to us over the last two years. He can't do both in the spurs when he was first finals. Mvp didn't have to lead the team. Yeah tony parker manu ginobili. Tim duncan you had pop. You have three future hall of famers. You're playing with a future hall of fame coach. Then you go to toronto here this one. You'd have to lead the teapot lowery. Who had been there now one jet. But he's still hundred million dollar guy who he's still. He's still a multiple time all star and he's a leader in the locker room so you just have to show up and play ball. But now you get to the clippers and now you can just show up and play ball you gotta show up and play ball but you also have to lead the team. I think kawhi is proving that he cannot do both. That is very disappointing. It's an indictment on superstardom. Now you can also say well. We know that about hawaii. Not vote until it is. You went to the clippers to win a chip. It all calls figure out how to do it. Lebron james has been putting a situation. It all costs what they d without a figure out how to do it with kyrie without kyrie figured how to do it. K- love gets hurt without kayla. Figure out how to do it. If you want to be. Put in that. Same breath of superstar. You gotta prove that you can do both lead on the court and galvanized the troops. But i think the biggest indictment the biggest disappointment of this whole series. It's proven sale. He can't do both meh. That is a style intake right there. I don't even want to echo it. I don't wanna hear it again either. I'll do any of that. Because i i'm trying to push back but i'm starting to realize that maybe that's it. My only paul's is maybe. We're a little redundant in terms of our leadership style our production. Okay okay because everyone keeps saying how we're supposed to be this lockdown defensive team and clamping you got. Pg you got coir. Oh my god. Who's better to lockdown people with the positions. They start to say well. Do we need all of that. We all that mortar travel at like balance balance expression out and i'm looking at us and clutch moments are see twenty. I see twenty-three yesterday's game. That's not their averages but close enough income. But you're still supposed to win that game. They're down to twenty seconds to go you blink. All of a sudden a five point game this nut but free throws which means basically the game over. We didn't have a clutch moment in that time like nicholas platoon coming down the lane trying to hit the layup gonna blame him. It should have been a hand but then it wasn't hambro and we get air ball out of that. I have confidence. We can still win this series because one. We're going on a road which were undefeated. And they've lost all their games at home also. This is a young team. We're facing so will more than luka doncic show up in net moment now luke is going to be there. I have no doubt anymore. Sorry luca if i ever doubted you. Which low fat cavs like. I know athlete. I'm obviously low. Fat cast doubt you brother but he don't play this way for twenty thirty years. Luca danni is not planning to athletic. First base car heart is deepen his dick and don't got it but he like i am playing calculus out here right here. Genius amazing pick a rose and just rains and says we're gonna play off of it and i'm a play like literally i was watching back to back. Plays coming off a pick and roll. He kept the defender on his back for one of them and hit a runner in the lane and then he pulled back and hit a three. You really can't do anything about it when you talk impressed an impression i was here some different takes now like what. Luca is a top three or four player at the age of twenty two along with the likes of lebron james magic johnson and my producer reminded me day. Eric rolls when an nba mvp at twenty. Two you could argue jordan. But remember jordan got hurt when he was twenty two in his second season so luke i think is astounding gusts. The kicker for me sell why. I'm not convinced. Clippers win the series because they can only win at one way if there are two games being played at one time the game between the ears and the game of talent on the scoreboard and the clippers can only win the game of talent. So now you've got to hope and clippers fans have to hope that if they just roll out there without any motivation without any leadership that their talent is better than the mavericks talent and. That's where i'm not convinced anymore. Because luca is as good as the of a to on any given night. You have to hope that y'all can win the one game and y'all can win the game of score better than the game a score and the game between the ears because y'all ain't winning that game. I don't even know if y'all they're playing in that game you aren't even volunteering to contribute to the game of leadership. The game of intangibles the game of of mental toughness. Y'all go hoop and hope for the best. I have to echo. That i mean i got to be objective up here. You're right we have to just out produce a team. We're not going to necessarily always execute or more importantly get the most out of our team. That's where leadership comes in. And i know when when you're young and i know when you see leaders in certain situations is hard to measure. Their impact is hard to measure. How effective a great leader is but in a life full of detours. The gainful detour. Remember even forty eight minutes. Your mind goes different places. Aim forty eight minutes. You don't always apply yourself to the game plan. you need someone to bring you back into the fold. You need someone to bring you back into that discipline of fortunately we don't have.

George two games luca two points twenty thirty years twenty seconds Eric forty five point kyrie Lebron james kayla Luca danni four hundred forty eight minutes yesterday three hundred four points luka doncic one time

"Yeah if you didn't like Toronto in tampa. That's my question for this year I think there's a trick answer to this question. That elliott is not taking into account. I think the best chance for pure basketball standpoint for him to win a title last year was to join the lakers. Which nearly happen. You know i mean it was one of his his finalised look. They won the title without. They're definitely going to win the title with the bike and it would have been a really dreary season where we're all like Super team suck think that probably would have been the prevailing narrative around the league but that would have been the answer if he was going from purely a basketball standpoint. I'm glad he didn't. I'm glad he wanted to have his own show with the. It didn't work out great for them. But they're back for round two and that brings me to what you teased a little bit earlier. Michael which is it's time for some count ability for collide leonard. I don't know if you saw what's been going on this week. He has not been playing well. They built a gigantic league. Goes phoenix suns on sunday. Night nearly blew the entire thing down the stretch by mrs four jumpers in a row never really gets within twelve feet of the basket. Paul george and nicholas platoon have to bail kawhi leonard out otherwise they were going to blow that game as as phoenix today. Big-time comeback. It was a real sigh of relief. Moment for the clippers every time they blow elite. You know they're going to have their playoff failures in the back of their mind. And so i think You know from that standpoint. I wanna put the question to you again. Michael which is what's quite his role in all of this. How are you feeling about why you know right now at this point of his career. And you're talking about a contract decision with steph curry and all that going forward for golden state. You're the clippers and you're not getting peak kawai every single night which they're not it it's been up and down and he was not there every single night during the playoffs. Now you're facing a decision about a five year contract. You're going to have to give him. You know this summer. how're you you know. Comfort wise about giving a player like kawhi leonard a five-year max contract. I know most people would say oh you just have to give it to him and you do one hundred percent..
