Is the Sleeping Conservative Dragon Finally Waking Up?

"A clown world up is down down is up nothing makes anymore Victor Davis Hanson had a great piece in the Daily Caller I've been talking about throughout the show which I think is really and it's called is the sleeping conservative dragon finally waking up before I get into that you know we were asking you guys you know what do you think? Is the sleeping conservative dragon finally waking up? The number is 844 -484 3872 or more simply 844 for the USA I'll take your calls a little bit later on that but what he writes is he said so conservatives often slept through the woke revolution yet suddenly they realized their apathy allowed the country to descend into something the nation's founders never imagined or intended and antithetical to what most knew as America just a couple of decades ago so conservatives are awakening from their slumber and they are discovering that they too can boycott agitate and war you know talking about how conservatives have taken aim at some of these woke companies whether it's Target, Anheuser -Busch, Disney you know the list goes on or even what the LA Dodgers doing are right with with this group it's disgusting what they're trying to do with this sisters are perpetual indulgence a group of men engaging

"This is the first time the nuggets have ever played in the NBA Finals. And the team's first time in a final series since the last year of the ABA in 1976, that means the dearth of experience for nuggets players this deep into a season. One Denver player with finals experience is kentavious Caldwell Pope, who was on the Lakers 2020 title team. Just trying to keep him calm knowing that and the first couple of possessions are going to be a lot even for myself, you know, I'm feeling anxious right now I'd even get out there. The nuggets have rest on their side, having polished off the Lakers last Monday in a four game sweep. The heat will have had two days off since winning game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. "Okay. Okay. Okay. Dan, you have ADHD. I know it's a problem. I get it. I know. I want you to listen to Comey's clip here, it was this pseudo fake apology. And then when asked at the end, he's like, Oh yeah, but I don't really think the FBI liked anything wrong. This is an agency full of like, integrity and fidelity and bravery. They were just caught making up and completely fabricating a case to spy on the listen to this. Check this out as for the Durham report, 300 pages, four years investigating the investigators. One of the things that did come out of it was that procedures, regular FBI procedures were ignored, that steps were missed along the way in this investigation. In fact, director Ray said when the report came out, yeah, we acknowledge that a couple of ago, years and we've changed all that, those changes are already in place. Do you acknowledge perhaps that some mistakes were made along the way? Oh, definitely. And they were found four years ago by the inspector general. So there's nothing new in this new document. What were some of those mistakes from your point of view? Oh, that the FBI didn't communicate clearly the status of certain sources. They double checked certain information before putting it in a court application for a foreign intelligence wiretap and a bunch of others. And so do you believe now as these, some of these politicians call for defunding of the FBI, that that has been corrected and that now the procedures are in place to avoid those kinds of mistakes in the future? I think so. But in complex investigations, there's always going to mistakes. be It doesn't mean the FBI is incompetent, honest, and independent. So director with some distance now from from your time there with that investigation and everything that came into that 2016 election. Are there things that you wish you had done differently? Gregg Jarrett: Previewing New Book 'The Trial of the Century'

"The trial of the century what is the trial of the century Which one You know there have been a lot of famous trials that have been dubbed as such by the media over the years The Nuremberg case Julius Ethel Rosenberg the O. J. Simpson double murder case which I covered for 9 months in Los Angeles They pale in comparison to the 1925 scopes monkey trial Because it stake was our cherished free speech rights America was at the precipice there was an effort and it was succeeding to ban books for example on evolution and they weren't going to stop there They were going to ban a variety of science books and other books And in the state of Tennessee they made it a crime for a teacher to teach out of the state approved textbooks a chapter on the cornerstone Darwin theory of evolution Because they feared it would undermine the story of the divine creation in genesis in the Bible Which it didn't Their harmonious and Clarence Darrow was incensed over it So when a young 25 year old school teacher was handcuffed criminally charged in front of the host gal Darrow came to the rescue the greatest trial lawyer who ever lived And he for free descended John scopes It became known as the scopes monkey trial which was derived from an evolutionary misconception that humans evolved from monkeys or other primates I traveled a couple of years ago to the courthouse in Dayton Tennessee where the trial took place It's closed now but buried in the archives of the basement and I gained access was the original trial transcript

Brett Tolman: The Real Authority of U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves

"Want you to listen to this We can do it here We have multiple platforms Want you to listen to this This is Brett tolman who was a U.S. attorney in Utah really really top lawyer And he's very soft spoken so check it out Cut 22 go But you make a very good point The us attorneys nominated by the president not the attorney general and confirmed by the Senate They are presidential appointees and they serve at the pleasure of the president So despite what the practices may be the last couple of decades you're making the point It's a very important point that the U.S. attorney in Washington D.C. I believe his name is graves That he has his own authority to act that he doesn't have to sit around and worry about what the criminal division of the public integrity section or the U.S. attorney's office or the attorney general or anybody else has to say to open an investigation at a minimum and to bring an indictment correct That's exactly right He has all that authority and I'll tell you something else that I've learned relative to this The outgoing U.S. attorney at the time of January 6th Had identified a very small number of individuals that should be prosecuted And had indicated to DoJ that that was his intention They forced him out because he did not have the same vision that they did in terms of what they would turn the January 6th prosecution into And so I think about that and who they put in in their place and it is someone that will toe the line and follow what Washington D.C. wants And that is the greatest injustice we have because now we see that they will do make decisions and use their power to based on politics rather than based on the facts and the evidence which would result in a lot of people being prosecuted and put in jail including the Biden family

Morton Klein: Biden Is Coupling Antisemitism With Other Phobias

"In addition to more than watering down the definition including a definition that's dangerous and frightening that will protect major Jew haters in Congress officials in the world and on campuses It protects them now You can't call them anti semitic according to what Biden is embracing In addition in the same sentence when he condemns anti semitism that Biden in this report condemns islamophobia homophobia transphobia misogyny In other words he makes antisemitism no longer unique by coupling it combining it with these other phobias and these other groups don't have nearly the amount of dangerous hate speech and attacks as the Jews do 63% of all hate attacks in America according to religion 63% against Jews not against Muslims or Christians or any of these other groups So he's really watered down a terrible way And let me tell you something else dangerous here I must say Mark He once hate speech to be abolished This is very dangerous Of course we're all against hate speech No one should use it But how will he be defining hate speech Here says we have to abolish hate speech That means if I attack Lewis farrakhan is that hate speech Will they say that means I'm a racist by attacked the radical group Black Lives Matter Is that racist If I attack Iran or radical Islam is that racist It's very dangerous what he put in this report by wanting to abolish all hate speech which means that if anyone's idea of how they will define it and this is really another dangerous aspect of this whole report

The Basics of Key Management

"We haven't done a Basics episode in a while. I've had a couple of people ask me some questions that made me realize something that I was a little... that we haven't come back to with the Basics is just kind of the really simple, really practical, what the hell do I do with my keys? So we went into an entire episode on what our keys are and hardware, wallets, and all of that good stuff. And I will tell you straight off the bat, you need a hardware wallet if you have any meaningful savings. If you're just tinkering, that's fine. Don't give yourself a homework assignment and, you know, have to invest all this money and stuff into it if you're just playing around. But it's very easy to get sucked in and it's very easy for playing around to become a meaningful amount of money in Bitcoin. In fact, a good example actually was I was playing around with the Bitkit wallet, which is one that I'm a big fan of and I'm really looking forward to its future. And Synonym and John Carvalho and their team over there have built a really amazing and really intuitive product. But I was just testing a bunch of stuff out. So when I moved some Bitcoin to it, it was always intended to just be kind of a throwaway wallet. And I actually at some point took a screenshot of my backup seed and put it in the Discord chat with everyone in Synonym because we were we were trying to work something out. I can't remember what it was, some weird little quirk with the interface or whether it was showing addresses or something like that. I don't remember. It wasn't that big of a deal. But because I was thinking of the wallet so cheaply as just like throwaway, I did that. But what's funny is I, you know, was testing all out. So I added a bunch of contacts and, you know, I started making messages with people and, you know, all these things. And I started trying out a bunch of different widgets. And it got to the point where I'd kind of forgotten that I had done that. And then I just moved a little bit of Bitcoin to move a little bit more Bitcoin to it and eventually ended up with like eight hundred dollars worth of Bitcoin on it. And my seed is sitting in a screenshot in a Discord room that I don't know if 30 people or I have no idea how many people are in that Discord chat could see and just and so many multiple people may have just out of trying to help me put it in their wallets. So I was just totally exposed. I was just like putting cash in other people's pockets. Nobody stole it from me or anything. And I just woke up one morning and it hit me and I was like, oh my God, I'm an idiot. And I withdrew it back to my nunchuck. But just a easy little story to explain that you need to be careful with your keys and you need to have basic practice on how you're going to back things up. You need to know how you're going to be treating your wallet going

Why Everyone Is Talking About EigenLayer

"Sriram, it's great to have you. For those of you who don't know, Sriram is a longtime professor at UW, at the University of Washington. And he's also a crypto founder, founder of one of the hottest new projects called Eigenlayer. Full disclosure, I think Robot Ventures, you guys are investors in Eigenlayer, Dragonfly is not, but Eigenlayer right now is kind of the talk of the town. Everybody is talking about Eigenlayer to the point where you even got shouted out by Vitalik yesterday. So first question, moving from academia into being now like a full -on crypto founder, center of attention, in the center of the maelstrom, how has that been for you transitioning from the academic world to the crypto world? It's been out of craziness. I think nothing I could have done would have prepared me for this. It is, I think, one thing to be a startup founder, where you're basically off in your quiet startup trying to go build your thing. It's a completely different thing to be a founder of a crypto project, which is much more community -driven. Start to interact with a lot more people much early on. In fact, so much so that that is critical or essential to the success of the project even before you build anything. So I learned these lessons through doing a project where it was only technology -focused four years back when Haseeb knows the story with a couple of other professors. And when the feeling was exactly the opposite, it was pretty much similar to my professor life where we were just inventing new protocols, algorithms, and making them work. And I think this is a very different experience.

Ledger's Shocking Move: Has Our Trust Been Betrayed?

"Every Saturday, I ask what the week before will be remembered for when it comes to crypto and the larger economy. And to me, there are two big things that stand out this week. The first is, of course, ledger. For those of you who haven't listened to the ledger episode from earlier this week, the TLDR is that on Tuesday they announced a feature called ledger recover. Now ledger recover was a way for people who were maybe new to the space or who are just generally insecure about keeping their own seed phrase on a piece of paper, which is how ledger normally does things. This new feature ledger recover would allow them to effectively have a backup. And the way that it would work is that the ledger device would send out a copy of the seed phrase split into three parts. It would go to ledger and two other companies, and the person would have to use ID verification services to request to have it come back. Now you might already have spotted some of the issues here. All of a sudden, a hardware wallet which is supposed to be a self sovereign device and totally outside of the realm of tamper ability, has introduced a whole slew of new weaknesses. There's a KYC and identity verification process, there's these three companies that are involved, but the biggest thing that had people upset was that in the past, ledger had made it seem like there was no way for the device to ever send out a seed phrase, however that seemed to be changing. Because of the device could copy that seed phrase and then encrypt it to send it out in these three parts, didn't that break the relationship that people thought they had with their ledgers? Now, over the next couple of days, ledger really dug itself into a deeper and deeper hole. At one point, it's team tweeted technically speaking it is and has always been possible to write firmware that facilitates key extraction. You've always trusted ledger not to deploy such firmware, whether you knew it or not. It's important to understand that at the end of the day, any hardware wallet solution to user chooses to go with will always require that person to trust the developer to build and maintain a secure device to store your assets. This was exactly the wrong thing to say. And just further outrage the community.

"A little bit higher Nothing too dramatic here but we've got Australian futures up two tenths of a percent Similar for a FTSE China a 50s China's futures contract hanging index futures up about three tenths of a percent And nikkei futures at 26,830 suggest about a 175 points or so of positivity when we open the dollar is easing back a little bit down about a tenth of 1% And as mentioned earlier we had yields dropping We got the minutes from the fed the May meeting of the fed And there were no real signals there that officials were turning more hawkish that officials agreed that they would need to rate interest rates in half point steps at the next couple of meetings but the fed also lowered its inflation forecast next year to 2.5% and just 2.1% in 2024 So if those forecasts were accurate it would imply that the next three half point rate hikes would be just about the end of the current tightening cycle and also this week we had Atlanta fed president Rafael bostick suggesting that a September pause might make some sense if price pressures cool We had a positive signal from Volkswagen's chief saying that there has been improvement in semiconductor supplies and that Volkswagen's global production can recover this year And U.S. retailers got some good news Nordstrom jumped after raising its forecast at stock was up 14% Abercrombie rallied as well And XRT the ETF in the retail sector jumped 6.9% WTI is edging up half percent one ten 87 a barrel and the yield on the two year at 2.49% Paul While Elon Musk is boosting the equity component of his Twitter bid to 33 and a half billion Bloomberg's Ed ladlow tells us why the move is significant.

"Dot gov and you can tweet him at rep ro con and he will be with us for the hour taking your calls at two O two 8 O 8 99 25 Congressman Khanna Welcome back What's on your mind today Good to be on and I'm glad I'm on video today too So We're focused on the climate Bill and trying to get that across the finish line and I've had a couple of meetings now The senator Manchin we're meeting again on Monday with a group The challenge is he's saying what about bipartisan I said that's fine If you can get the Republicans actually agreed to 550 billion of climate spending which I don't think is ultimately going to be where there are So I still am convinced that this is going to have to be through reconciliation but my hope is that that engagement will now further push The White House on getting back engaged on climate because we really have not seen much movement since the build back better efforts came to us to a since they stalled And then the other thing is I've got an op-ed coming out tomorrow in The Washington Post or the next couple of days to make the case for forgiving student loans Just a one point I'll make this idea that it is regressive and helps the upper middle class is just totally false This data is overwhelming that it would help the lowest wealth groups in this country And the second thing is I took out a lot of loans I paid them back and I don't begrudge anyone who didn't and now they should have their loans forgiven They just didn't get the same lucky breaks I did I think that's how many people look at it who have been fortunate enough to pay their loans back Yeah I had a fellow call in yesterday and he was like what about people who paid off their loans and why should I pay for a quack And I had two answers for him Number one was we had this 15 year experiment with the GI Bill and what we discovered after World War II and what we discovered was for every dollar we invested in young men coming back from World War II in college education The federal government got back $7 in tax revenue that they wouldn't have gotten because those people with a college degree had higher incomes higher earnings than had they only had a high school degree So number one investing in education always pays back And number two the system is broken I mean Thomas Jefferson created the first free college the University of Virginia He thought he was the single most important achievement of his life He put that at the top of his tombstone Abraham Abraham Lincoln created the land grant colleges 56 or 57 land grant colleges free colleges again With the moral act in 1865 I think it was And Michigan state university is one of those And so the outlier has been the last 40 years since Reagan took a meet axe to education And we've never done that And we're the only country in the world that doesn't invest in the infrastructure in our intellectual infrastructure and our young people in education And when we did in the 50s with the GI Bill we produced this explosion of innovation in the 70s as those people came into the workforce put them out on the moon and everything else invested transistor in vetted transistors and ICs Why would we not do that for America Why would we want to be the only developed country in the world that doesn't offer free or nearly free education And then on top of that you say okay so the system is broken We're going to fix it Obviously when you fix a broken system just like reparations when you fix a broken system some people are going to get more benefit than others It's not always going to be fair because the system's not fair So that was my rant yesterday I mean look the reality is for the only country that I know of where you have to go 30 40 $50,000 in debt to get an education that you're in debt before you even start life It's a crazy system And this president really that's an area he doesn't need 51 senators and he can make a difference And I think he's getting there I think that the activism around the country really has made a difference on this And we're keeping up the drum beat on the progressive caucus Good good Okay well let's pick up some phone calls hey That'd be great Off we go Margie in Wisconsin rapids Wisconsin emerging you're on the era of the representative Connor Representative Khanna When discussing affordable healthcare why do Democrats never discuss the fact that that we don't pay for just one healthcare policy Because our healthcare policies don't cover injuries that happen at work So businesses in the independence have to have workmen's comp in addition to their regular primary insurance then for your auto insurance you have liability medical liability coverage That if you enter somebody else your homeowners are rented policy also have medical liability in case somebody is injured on your property And as a business owner I have a $1 million medical liability in case I injure somebody else Why do the Democrats not discuss that the average person is paying for at least four different health policies Brilliant Absolutely correct That it is such a complicated mess that you're paying for as you put it so well Your own health insurance and then you're paying for your health insurance or you're paying through your employer for Alta chores there and you're paying with auto insurance for potential health insurance there.

"Likely to keep running Among the hot topics this weekend as we watch headlines about the Federal Reserve come in And we caught up with James buller to ask him about it He's president of the St. Louis fed And he tells Bloomberg's Michael McKee and Lisa Brahma with inflation looks high and sticky The inflation rate is quite high The core PC inflation rate that committee's favorite measures about 3.6% That's the highest it's been in 30 years Well above our 2% target and that number already throws out food and energy So you're taming the data a little bit whether you look at that kind of measure but it's quite high It does not have the reputation of moving down very easily So I think who's the committee to attack and a more hawkish direction in the next couple of meetings so that we're managing the risk of inflation appropriately If a flexion just happens to go away we're in great shape for that We're set up for that But if inflation doesn't go away as quickly as many aren't currently anticipating then it's going to be up to the committee to keep inflation under control going forward Well when you say tack in a more hawkish direction are you talking about speeding up the taper even with the risk of a taper tantrum Are you talking about changing forward guidance How would you tack I think we've gotten past the taper tantrum issue because we went ahead and went ahead with.

"Completely withdrawn from the country sometime in the next couple of weeks The Afghans will set on one another, and the capital will be even more dangerous than it is now. So that's Peter Jennings with ABC News Back in 1989. I know you started working on this film. Years ago. The film's premiere was back in January, months before the Taliban fully took over in Afghanistan, and thousands of more people started trying to flee. How does what's happening now? Change the way you think about this project? I don't know if it changed the way I think about the project. It's you know, it's just heartbreaking to see that history repeats itself and even more so to talk with them, And you know, I'm in touch with them every week. Uh, almost every day and you know for him seeing how now a new generation of people are getting pushed out and are going to be in the same limbo he was in for for years, and maybe not have the change to build the life that they want for themselves. It's just Yeah, it's just heartbreaking to see that and and and it was just really weird to see. Uh, you know some of the shots we didn't animation we spent I spent months on. Uh And now he just see them in real time on the news again. It's just heartbreaking. And and we are at the same time. I guess one thing that occurred to me while I was watching it was that it was such a personal story. I was hearing your friends. Story. And then at the same time, I couldn't help but think of it as More than just one individual story, if you know what I mean. Yeah, but definitely thank you right now. I think right now, that's more than 80 Million people were fleeing, But, yeah, I think even more so, You know, this is This is yes, It's a story about a refugee and Starbucks fleeing, But it's also a story about Um, finding a place where you can be who you are with everything that themselves because you know, he's also gay. And that's also part of his life between from so I think it's some. I hope at least it's a story that people can relate to you, though. They're not refugees or okay. Necessary. How is his life changed since since he opened up to you? What is this? And this is that now he feels small free because, you know, he kept this story a secret for so many years and they create this distance, But now Because it doesn't have to keep the secret animal issues more free. And you feel like you talk about the past and freeway and he doesn't need to keep figures, which really In some way, help him settle down and relax more because he didn't feel like yet to height and run all the time. There must be meaningful for you. It definitely is like I mean, the whole process of maintenance team has been very meaningful, uh, both in terms of the reasons that I have for them in, but also on a personal level, like bike, seeing also understanding what it does to you when you can't bring your past with you. I mean, that's that's sort of how much go ahead. Sorry. Go ahead. Just how much does uh, I think I also appreciate having a home more now. After doing making this comes at it before. You know, like, how important is to have a place where you feel safe? Yeah. I mean, they're going back to what you were saying earlier about the sort of universality of this story. At the end of the film, there's I mean, I don't I don't think I'm spoiling anything here, but you ask them. What does the word home mean to you? Any pauses, and it takes this great deep breath in and he says, I have it here. It's somewhere safe somewhere. You know, you can stay and don't have to move on. Yeah. What did that mean to you when he said then? Well, if carbon capsules the whole like the core of the after film like this thing about finding a home because it's one thing is finding the physical home, But it's also about finding the place where you can live with. With all your traumas and with what happened with you, and in his case, also his sexuality which was really difficult, you know, being from Afghanistan and the U. K isn't easy. So so, yeah, this thing about finding a home friendly capitals the whole film. It must be strange for him knowing that I mean again. It means that Israel must be strange for him living his life and in In America and just, you know, knowing that all around the world people are hearing his story. Yes, I think it is. But I think he was He was concerned a little bit afraid. Firstly, when it got out, Of course, it's saw it before it got out. And But he said that he Like he was really moved by it, but is it wouldn't know if it was a good film. And because it's historians? Of course, it would be, uh, emotionally involved in it. Um, but it was really important for him to see that people actually could relate to a story. I think he was a little scared that people wouldn't be able to. But the reception it's gotten so far from amazing and he's really released. People, uh, understands. What it means, Uh, to go through what he what? What he's been through. What have you learned from making a film like this? Um, well, I think I think most of this thing about how much having a place means and feeling safe. Yeah, finding a home and also more professional level like it was a big team to work with, and and it's just been Incredibly rewarding to have so many creatives around you, and it's a really powerful film. Thank you for it. And congratulations on all the success from it. Thank you so much. Your.

"Next couple of days you in the mortgage and are going to be seeing and feeling this effect. What we see happening right now is that buyers are going up against fewer buyers, and they can actually get the homes that they wanted. Um, whereas they would have been going up against, say, five or 10 people. They may be going up against one or zero or two or three people. So fewer buyers out there right now. People are distracted with the back to school to my kids wear masks and not wear a mask. Do they do this? Do they do that? Do they? You know, whatever it is right there Distracted. They got a lot going on. They want to get back into their into their method into their flow. So those renters out there or those people that don't have kids, or, you know that don't have to deal with all that stuff are really going in. In cleaning up house and I want to warn the potential sellers out there that we're waiting for that right moment. I think that ship has sailed. I think the time where you were, if you were in a list your home Okay and get top top top top dollar without doing any repairs and really, you know, just kind of like having the complete leverage in the transaction. That ship has sailed guys. That was May that was June. Maybe even July. You may be lucky if you did it in August. But I got to tell you sellers are not getting those same exact things happening and as many cases Okay. It doesn't mean you won't. But it just means you've got to look at things from a different lens from the current market. We can't be looking at the market two or three months ago, man. That's the hardest pill for clients to swallow. But You know, it's one of those things. It's like, Okay, so you can do what we used to do, and you're going to get worse results or you can beat the market and do what we're suggesting you do. Take our professional vice because we've been here before. We know the opposite and down to the market, right? Well, you know, the thing is, let's say x similar to me and said somebody calls me to do a refinance or the purchase in your home. And I told him what the rate is. And right now the rates are roughly for government. F H A V A loans there in the, uh, mid to high twos. Amazing. Yeah. 0.75, generally speaking and then Conventional loans are in the high twos like 2.993%, 3.1253, and a quarter depending on Fico score down payment and things like that. So, um, I'm going over these rich people, and they're like, Well, my mom got 2.5 last year. What happened to that? And I'm like That was last year. It's been a whole couple of months. They changes every day. Sorry. Uh, unfortunately, I wish I could, but I can't. You know that ship has sailed, Um at the moment, and we're still a really great place. That's still not a bad rate. It's still under three stick. Yeah, it's still fantastic. It's just You can't really talk about what's happened the last over the last couple of years and months, because it's it's all past its right now. How do we manage it? Right now? You've got to be in the market right now. And when you're listing a home, you have to be able to forecasting anticipate what's going to happen now without a doubt. I do believe what these do these newer lower rates because we're at 3.253 point five for a little while not too long ago, right in the heat of the market. The rates have come down this fewer buyers, but you're going to see more buyers starting to jump in your We're getting a lot of calls for people to list their home they want to sell they want to buy at the same time, so I am not at all saying that the market is going to slow down to a point like where it's a buyer's market. No, this is a strong strong seller's market. It's still a strong seller's market. But your expectations have to be set to today's market. Not to what it was type of market, So you know to leave you with this. I see more homes on the market. I see us hitting probably around 1500 single family homes on the market, which will be the highest. It's been in roughly two years here in Rhode Island, and I see that happening by mid fall. And I see days on market increasing to probably about 30 days or so, verse the three days of the 14 days, so don't panic. If your home takes a little longer to sell right now it is what it is. Make sure your pricing your property correctly make sure that your home is marketed correctly and you're going to do very, very well..

"Coming up in the next couple of days. I think after Monday and Tuesday into Wednesday, 100 plus degrees, not an official red flag warning here yet, but something I'm sure that all of us will be watching for smoke and unhealthy air still prevails, although in El Dorado County in some areas, you see some blue skies Although air is still unhealthy, So keep that in mind as you're planning your weekend activities, particularly outside, so let's briefly recap. We have the Cal fire. Uh, Big update this afternoon. Is that evacuation orders for the city of South Lake Tahoe downgraded to warnings and residents of South Lake Tahoe are able to return home. But it doesn't mean that you should. If you're not ready to kind of be on your own little bit for the next few days, and also keep in mind that a warning means that they could turn that back to an order and you'd have to leave and the good news is a lot of people are Taking that into consideration, and there isn't a massive rush back into South Lake Tahoe. Now back to our dogs Help talk. We continue our conversation with Dr Don Manning and Shannon O Kelly. Dr Manning. Thank you again for joining us Health talk. Hey, we talked about the knee. The ligament kind of the mechanism injury. What are the signs and symptoms? How do I know I may have torn my A C l usually in the athletic setting. We see patients coming in with the story of twisted my knee. I felt a pop had sudden onset of pain. And that's usually followed with swelling of the knee and oftentimes challenging to walk it off. There's there's a period of time where it's really might be even difficult to bear weight. And then after that, the patients are going to experience some feeling of instability and and he was certain change of directions. Even simple things. Maybe, you know, turning around and walking in your house, You know, you notice the need feels like it's going to give away anything more than just straight line walking. They usually describe some sort of giving out feeling in the knee, and then I diagnose it with the physical exam typically, but I always like to get an MRI when I'm concerned when they're swelling in the knee. I get that story. Confirmed things with with imaging. How are you going to fix this? We usually do what's called a reconstruction, which is actually where we're taking tissue from elsewhere, usually around the same knee and putting it back into place. Where the hell was functionally drilling bone tunnels into the femur and tibia and and putting in a graft and it's usually attendant and the tendons we use or the patella tendon, the quadricep tendon and the hamstring tendon. In certain instances, usually in the older patient population, Uh, with respect to a CS forties or fifties, we will do an al A graph where it's a donor tendon a little bit less more been on the need to take a donor.
