"Seven WBZ. I am Morgen Andrews on the other side of the looking glass and my co hosts for this hour. Lieutenant proves apothecary from the city of Newton and Bruce give everybody an overview, we mentioned could you came in like ten minutes early, but give them an overview of our discussion topic. So what we're going to discuss tonight. And we hoping that people will join us for the discussion. We're going to talk about personal safety tips home safety tips, in vehicle safety tips, common sense, ideas that hopefully will cut down the opportunity for someone to victimize you your vehicle your home and just the discussion it self. Hopefully, will these common sense ideas. We'll make it that. You won't be victimized. Tell people the incentive of why we doing this now. Well. What we know is the east corridor of the state has been experiencing some residential breaks. And we've become part of that. That when you say, we you mean, the city the city of Newton, right? So we've become victimized by that. And on back on November thirtieth. We hit three home residential breaks that we had a couple in December. We had some in the middle of January and then on January eighteenth. We took seven reports for residential burglaries and out of those seven. Two of them. People were home at the time. One of them was an attempted break. But a resident inside the home saw some activity at the door on the other side heard something yelled, and then the president of persons ran away. Okay. So what we what concerns us is that the boldness the brassiness of the press president a person's doing this while people are actually home. And here's my question. Newton is the big city. What fourteen fifteen sixteen separate segments? Disturbing villages. Okay is cost the ninety thousand residents, and we have a tremendous tremendous place to live tremendous pleasure. And whether we're the safest city in America within the top so many city, America. I always tell people if it can happen in Newton that means it can happen anywhere. True. Very true. So again, these type of tips that we've talked about before we've experienced many car breaks. And I was just looking at some of the reports going back to the last couple of weeks. It's always the same. The press on a presence they enter through an unlocked door, right? They see something inside the vehicle. Opened the unlocked. Aw. And now it's gonna be this. And I can't I know every time you've been on. Arrives said it or a caller his Senate. I know it's tempting just to have small change in that compartment and your dashboard, right? Don't. What if you need to put it somewhere put it in a small purse or whatever then put the purse in the glove compartment, and Mark the glove compartment because even? And I have a story. I could tell. But I'm I'm not even gonna repeat the story. A lot of you for Mattel before. Now, I'll tell the story as factually as I can. An ex girlfriend lived in Bridgewater. Right. She had a roommate. I'm over there. Spent the night one night come out. Both of their cars had been broken into because they both had visible change. Right. Mine was left alone. I car was locked and I didn't have visible change. So. Don't leave visible change bills. Just for the convenience. You don't have to go through tolls anymore for for whatever. Reason. You don't wanna go through Dunkin donuts and half the Fisher out for change when reachable don't do it that way. Right. Absolutely. And I believe there may be some vehicles that have. Even when the vehicles off you might be able to push the button and Trump will open up. Yes. So yes, just take everything out of your vehicle is no reason why any valuable should we left inside vehicle when you will up hopefully, lockup your vehicle at night. And is there for people living in Newton? Is there a repeat area where they've come back? You say few break ins in December November few break ins, December seven in one day in January is there a favorite neighborhood or street? They keep coming back to or not. So if anybody's familiar with Newton is the Newton center area, the Newton highlands area. The experiences that the reports that we took on the eighteenth those were of on the line the old weeks junior high school, okay area. So again, but it can happen anywhere. It just happened to happen in those areas on that particular day, you know, maybe tomorrow could be somewhere else. Another city another area. What I'm thinking about if they are closer to each other the areas where these house breaks happened. It could be somebody doing it a walking thief or it could be someone who's just driving from neighborhood to neighborhood to neighborhood. But vigilence for you, and your neighbors just be vigilant and eventually because we all know. Criminals get caught because they aren't the brightest people in the world there among the laziest people in the world because they don't wanna work at. That's why criminals get caught right? I always say, the smartest criminals. Role incarcerated most of them. Are they always had the perfect plan? Right usually things catch up to them. And again, if anybody has any information on who's doing these residential burglaries, we would love to hear from you. We would rather work with people on the front end then on the back in them. And that I mean this so a resident who heard someone at the front door didn't call us, right then. And there if they had called off, you know, we may have been able to catch the person or persons who was responsible, right? Some of those breaks lot of times people feel like they're bothering the police. You can't bother us. Because again, don't think that way. I would rather check something out and let it be nothing then again comeback now Aleida two hours later and be taken a report of a burglary, and it turned out to be nothing when I called and told you about my neighbor's been no activity, no lights, nothing and within a day. Two they were back from wherever they were. But I didn't know I just call myself being a good citizen. Tell you what let's take a break. Now, we've got full lines. Linda, Linda, Gary Darna and Jennifer, so we've got one male and three women on the line. We will get to all your calls. Once they come back from this break time and temperature eleven fifteen thirty one degrees..

"It was really right off the as Needham street Newton Benz to center, so we're in between Newton center and that new busy retail street of Needham street Highland avenue. So. Beyond TJ Maxx before you hit route nine, and if you think you're busy now way to the stop and shop comes in. That's going to be I think December sixteenth opening. They're not finished yet. But they're almost done working their work. And that'll be an interesting addition to the neighborhood. Yeah. It's called traffic. You know, what we know? There is no stop and shop in the area. I like stop and shop. You know, what a there was a stop and shop where the CVS is now on route nine. Long time ago. The was the stopping sharp where Wakeman's is. No inbetween was over. Yes. It was. It was Chapa it on me. So I I appreciate the fact that we used to have stop and shop Newton in a couple of locations, but. And from what I understand it's supposed to be upper end stop and shop, whatever that means. It will cost more for carton of milk. Maybe less the more specialty Stephania too. All right. Well, the neighbor, but it'll be. Okay. So my people in the neighborhood to maybe before you before you go home to your palatial mansion somewhere in the city of Newton. You can do some grocery shopping. Or even during the day when we can't get out because we're so busy. We need to have food in the back room to eat. I've seen that back room. Jokey we have all kinds of goodies back. They just grabbing between. Well, I've never had the vantage of being the win this sales. Was stocked with goodies? Who knows maybe down the road? The good is now with those chocolates Molin. So they were good is all over the place. Good. He's in a safe that we'd like to share with the public. So they can come in by their holiday gift will yell at me. Candiates? Okay. I'm glad in moderation. I'm glad you said that I meant to bring this up earlier. And this might be a good way to end their always new segments to whatever item you'll go to a storm by whether it's electron IX, whether it's appliances furniture, and there are new concepts in the world of like the chocolate diamond that didn't exist ten years ago. Well, I think it did exist. It just wasn't marketed times, of course, from nature it just people decided at for years ago. People say well once wants, you know, a colored data they only want the the diamond is is clear. Right. Well, diamonds, come in all colors, they come into chocolate the black. They come in naturally yellow, and this pink diamonds, and I think there's people become more aware of diamonds can be colored. So are there any other innovations in the world, I'll just say broad-based jewelry that we didn't have five ten fifteen years ago that we now have. I guess some of the innovations that some of the metals that men want in a wedding band. They want something lighter weight 'cause they're not used to wearing a piece of jewelry people wearing tungsten men and. Cobalt and the new metal there is being used as a wedding band. Cobalt? Isn't that something you've put in a nuclear device? Metal. Because the only problem with these rings that we do we do remind people they can't be sized. This order them to the size. You are now. And hopefully, it's gonna be waiting for many many years and your fingers me expand over the years. So it means buying a whole new ring as opposed to be able to size platinum white gold yellow gold. Okay. And do you do that is well. And your.

The big parties, and they had beer there that I'd never heard of before in in Ukraine or Ukraine is a town called lavar, lavar of L I L V I V or LV Lovie, and it's just over the Hungarian border. And if you remember you talked about scallops, and how to buy scallops and about seafood and about fruit and about produce and was great. I kind of took his advice. I got away from supermarkets. "Truly the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him on those whose hope who hope in his. Ted fast love to deliver their soul from death and to keep them alive and famine. Our soul waits for the Lord. He is our help and shield. Our heart is glad in him because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love allured be upon us. Even as we hope in you. So these are only ten verses of the psalm of psalm thirty three. It's the second half the psalm, and yet these ten verses to me at least feel kind of grand and epic. They seem sort of sweeping in scope. As I was reading them. Verse twenty is where the waiting is mentioned. I twenty says our soul waits for the Lord. He is our help and shield. And while waiting, the psalmist seems to to be remembering all of God's saving acts throughout history. So once again, we go to a commentary this time from Adam Harrelson assistant professor of preaching and worship at Andover Newton, theological school in Newton, centre Massachusetts, and he describes this sense of waiting in a really nice way. He writes, waiting is hard. The is right. He says, waiting is hard. Verse twenty sounds like the Salman is trying to convince herself that she is not sick and tired of. Waiting. The truth is there's no school that teaches us how to wait. The anxiety is our lives seem implacable and we employ every trick to try and cope. In the meantime, we convince ourselves that we have been faithful that we are happy and that the weight isn't so bad, but mostly it is miserable. I hear deep need in the final verse of election, every passage, let your steadfast love award be upon us. Even as we hope in you. He continues, hope is no longer enough. Oh God, let your love break into our world and justify our hope as the psalmist copes with waiting. She begins to remember the times when God delivered the.

"I turned to hypnosis as a way of keeping my attitude together and giving me a positive outlook going through my treatments working with jean campeau of the newton center for clinical hypnosis mark uses a technique called guided imagery to spur on his body's defense system take a tour of his body and you're going to specht quiet what is it walking through i walked into this room found myself in a room with win floats flying all over the place so i proceeded to get all the notes fired up their attitudes changed we have a patient who is sick with something and he can imagine the reverse of that insomnia mysterious way he's apt to get better i do a lot of camping up in yosemite so i basically took a waterfall i had seen and then envisioned myself standing under this waterfall and then all of a sudden it went from seeing myself under the waterfall scene the water rushing through my neck and down through my chest into my abdomen through the limb system and just flushing a clean through hypnosis my attitudes have changed immensely i've become much more confident than i ever was i been able to accomplish things i never thought i could i now feel on winter instead of lizard after the treatments doctors operated but found no signs of the cancer mark now walks on the road of life could hypnosis be assigned post diaz toward a new and better way of living.
