According Spitzer The state attorney general's office had taken Smith off the sex offender list back in 2005 when it was informed that no criminal records were found for Smith wonder why? So since his release He has moved several times across Southern California, setting off warnings to local communities and law enforcement. He's currently at a health care facility in Costa Mesa. So watch your kids in Costa Mesa because this guy said he's going to When he gets out he was going to sexually assault, rape and kill small boys. What more do we need? So while he was confined to a mental hospital, he testified, having fantasies about raping and killing young boys. He also said that he liked to go by Mr R. T K standing for Mr Rape, torture and kill. In 1985 he pled guilty to misdemeanor sexual offence involving a child and was compelled register as a sex offender. That requirement was removed by the state in 2005 and nobody knows why. But he was admitted to a psychiatric facility back in 1999 after his wife provided a letter in which Smith described sex acts and warned that a seven year old boy who lived in the neighborhood could be next. So. You're in the district Attorney's office in 5 4002 filed 20 felony counts against this guy. This guy's still out there, man. California shuts down bars, indoor dining as COVID-19 cases surge
"Dining again and taking other steps in the hardest hit counties, including most of the Bay Area Whatever California had been doing the last few months is no longer working with Corona virus. Positivity rates hospitalizations in I C U cases still spiking ever higher in covert 19 deaths continuing to mount So Governor Newsome is taking the state back to where it was in the spring, ordering all 58 counties to close down indoor activities that had been allowed to reopen restaurants, Winery's tasting rooms, movie theaters, family entertainment centers. Zoos and museums, card rooms on the shuttering of all bars. This is in every county in the state of California, not just the counties that were on the monitoring less. And for the 31 counties on that watch list, which includes the entire Bay area except San Francisco and San Mateo counties. There are additional restrictions. Houses of worship, hair and nail salons. Jim's non essential offices and indoor malls must close again. The governor also said there are new rules coming regarding school safety, namely, contact sports choirs in school buses. The governor would not acknowledge the confusion and frustration of so many Californians about the way this is being handled. Even after being reminded by reporters. He's the guy in charge well aware of my responsibilities. Well aware of the dynamic that is a status large is ours. Newsom orders California to shut down indoor activities, all bar operations
"And for Rebecca Corral with covert 19. Running rampant in California Governor Newsome is dialing back statewide, shutting down sectors of the economy that had been allowed to reopen. Hey, CBS Political reporter dug. Sovereign is joining us live and says that includes all bars, all indoor dining in many counties. The closures extend far beyond that, and I was watching a tweet this out as the governor was making the announcement, Doug and it feels like we're going back to the starting line. Almost Boy, it sure does Dan and it's pretty frustrating to a lot of people. I mean the corona viruses unchecked in the Golden State, the hospitalization and I see you numbers continue to move in the wrong direction. The positivity rate is approaching 8%. And Governor Gavin Newsom said today it is time to pull back and no longer just on a county by county basis. We are announcing additional statewide actions as it relates to our state home order here in the state of California. We are now effectively rather effective today required all counties to close their indoor act activities there indoor operations in every county, not just the 31 or so now on the state watch list. All bars must close gnome or indoor dining, movie theaters, family entertainment centers or winery tasting rooms and in those counties where the things are worst, covering more than 80% of California's people. There are further shutdowns, houses of worship, Hera nail salons, gyms and fitness centers. Malls. Non essential offices must all closed down again in the Bay Area. That list includes Alameda Contra Acosta Marin. Napa, Santa Clara Solano in Sonoma County. So in other words everywhere in the Bay Area except San Francisco and San Mateo counties, I pressed the Governor Dan about the confusion regarding restaurants in Alameda County over the last few days, and the general level of frustration among so many people about what's open and what isn't what's safe and what isn't. He acknowledged His responsibility is leader of the state. But he said too many people are just not acting with common sense. We all need to wear masks and keep a safe distance went outside reporting live Doug Sovereign, KCBS dog real quick. Also, did he mention anything about schools because classes were supposed to start in about a month. Is he going to step in on that? Or is he going to leave that to local communities? Well again a little bit of confusion there because it's some of both. He was asked a couple of times about the schools and again, as you said. No different districts are handling it differently. Some are shutting down completely doing everything remotely. Others are doing hybrids. He suggested that there's further guidance coming from the state, although he leaves it to local districts to make decisions. He congratulated Los Angeles, for example, on deciding tohave all remote schools. This fall, he said. There's some more guidance coming in the next few days from from the state regarding mask wearing at school's school buses, sports certain safety measures that will have to be taken if schools do want to reopen in person in part, or even more than in part in some district. So while he's still saying it's it's a district by district decision, the state is going to put some new mandates in place, so that's districts that do allow in person education this fall. We're going to have some stricter rules to follow. All right. Thanks very much. KCBS is Doug sovereign. You can follow him on Twitter to today with the latest at sovereign nation. Meanwhile, in

Number of cases is more than doubled in Texas in two weeks. California Governor Newsome blames young people for the surge. But L. A resident Ronald Scott is optimistic and we keep social dishes. Everybody stay healthy. I believe we can beat this. There's a dire economic prediction from a global research institute. CBS's Vicki Barker, the Para Space research group, The CD says the world's wealthiest countries will end this year with the worst levels of joblessness since the Great Depression. And it says the U. I could go on for hours about people who lead retail stores in their connection to their people and their loyalty to their companies and their ability to manage. Pnl's present on performance calls deal with HR issues and exceed customer expectations. But that would just be the tip of the iceberg on what most retailers are capable of the reason I wanted to highlight. Shauna is because of how she is handling her current situation. I saw one of her most recent posts and even with the uncertainty of her organization and her job. She was recognizing her team for the hard work they were doing. It was genuine because after checking out her content came across opposed that she shared a wild bag and it read and I quote when I started my new role store manager of a new store at a new company. I not only had to learn an entire new process and new procedures but new employees as well like every new store manager. I began assessing my employees from the beginning. I listen to feedback from the former store manager as well as conducting daily observations one of the quote unquote week performers. I quickly assessed was simply in the wrong role. I moved this young lady to a new role within the store. And she is now flourishing beyond words. "Thank you. I hope that's something that's how I feel. I feel like this is a terrible tragedy and the only silver lining that I have is that I have. I'm fortunate enough to have space and time and not be stressed about work or about finances. And that's not not everybody's in that circumstance try to be empathetic to people who aren't here but be grateful for where I am. And it's that balance has kept me feeling sane because to not be grateful would feel insane and to not have empathy or sympathy would feel insane so. I'm just trying to hold them both and I think it's just allowed me to like I don't know if I can show my brain out a little bit because I was stressed I don't know about you. Oh Yeah I was very stressed just like I have like a lot of things like last year was truly a good year professionally but like very stressful. Because I had deadlines and I'm not great with a deadline and then this happened. I was like oh I can. I mean again to echo what you said. I am so fortunate and I'm so privileged to be in a place where I don't worry about money or I'm guy have savings so I'm okay for now and I'm very lucky that I don't have to work right now and I'm all right so like it has been a time where I'm like. Oh I can like slow down and take in the world but then also has made me more empathetic. Every time I go to the store I try so hard to like. Say something nice to someone at the grocery store because people are so fucking rude. He don't maintain their distance and these people are getting sick because not because they're serving. You people are getting sick because they need to provide for their families and people don't understand that right I just. I really hope we leave this with a little bit more empathy and understanding people's situations beyond your own because I feel like a lot of these people protesting for shit to open and like go to the beach and flyer whatever they don't have empathy towards other people because I haven't been personally impacted and I'm I've been spending a lot of time trying to like put not like finger just kind of like think about how other people are living their lives and how. I can like you know. Try to help other people you know maybe have a better day or understand like this is serious in its bad. Yeah no I think everything that you said also like. It is nice to Have any dose of reality. Enter this bizarre Insane Hollywood life. Yeah we all live like we all live some shade of an insane life. I don't care how much money you have being in this business and living in this part of the world is wild and you know there's a huge it is. It is a weird bubble but also like it easily pierce because we all have family members who live other ways places and who are essential workers. So it's very easy to get outside of your bubble. It takes the smallest amount of effort to do that and people. Just don't just ain't been making the effort as we've seen by by social media. I mean I tried to not look at social media at night so I can go to sleep peacefully. 'cause violent although I saw this one tweet think it was yesterday it was like frostbite. Toes are a sign of Corona. And I was like so corona can make you frostbitten without being cold. This is enough. This is fucked up. It's so fucked up okay. I did not read it but I did also see that. I saw that headline. I refuse to read the article because I was like. I'm not trying to have another panic attack that I think is that the symptoms. Things is too wild the when this first started. I mean I was trying to get back here from Canada and it was a little tariff shit but when my husband did was he was like because he knows that. I'm like a I'm an information junkie and I'm like a Knowledge Hound and I'm constantly trying to be like if you know everything about something then you're safe which is a very stressful way to live. But he was like you have to not look at your phone at all like if someone texts you. I will tell you but he was like you have to do it for full weekend. Like seventy two hours. Do not look at your phone and it was so hard because we all have an addiction to these things but it really did help. It brought down my anxiety. I could go to sleep by that third night so I need to do that again because I only did that for one weekend and now now. The blood pressure's back up. Good advice for everybody. Put your phone down all right. Tawny we've come to the end. Honestly this was a real joy to talk to you and I can probably talk to you for a hundred hours but alas all it was a joy to talk to you to. This does great. Thank you This is all over? We should go to dinner and I don't mean that in La Way. I feel like we actually should know I. Would you know what we actually have? A mutual friend that I think you've been trying to pursue a friendship with In poonam Patel. She's one of my dear. Could do a thing. And then there's not pressure on you and I to become something that we're not that really I. I like you for understanding. You know you know making friends. Growing up is hard and weird but But I truly your company and like I said I love the show. I listened all the time. So thank you and we did have a good time. We hung out at the EMMYS after party. Oh my God what a Hollywood sentence. Oh yeah that is the Hollywood sentence but that was real and I. I think I asked you so many hair questions then too. So brand for this This episode yes. We have twenty. I ask all of my guests this but would you date me. You know. I've thought about this girl and you know I would. And here's why in addition to all the normal reasons of you being funny and talented in cool. I what I see what I see in you from listening to all of your content and watching you on it and feeling like we're closer than we are is something that I would cherish so much in myself. Which is we love being with people but we also really value our space and we love to travel and work and I feel like I get really stressed out by friends. That don't understand that and think it's a reflection on them when I'm not super present at any given time and so I feel like you and I would totally get like this is a way separate time. This is come together time. I feel like we'd be a great balance that I honestly agree all right. Well that's it. Do you have something you want to promote other than Space Force Window Space Force come out. Oh yes thank you. Space Force comes out twenty nights. If you don't know Netflix will be shoving it in your face baby. Nice thing about the flip is they're going to tell you about a new show so please check that out. There's lots of fun. Funny People in it. I get to wear braids afternoon conversation. Maybe it was really. It was actually very cool of Greg Daniels and hey so I just WanNa wear braids because of this. And this and this and he like he really absorbed the reasons like the politics behind it and he was like. I think it's great so props to that process we white man for let me wear some breads and ally hardcastle. People can listen to all over the place you can find me. "It wasn't even like a salon chair. I believe she had me in a folding chair and she put it in my head and I was like I'm GonNa have straight hair. Can't wait for straight hair is burning and I'm GONNA die. You please take it out. She was like it's not done. And I was like polling. Save and my scalp a`sensitive just scabbed over Salah truly can't have a relaxer. It's not good for me I. I'd argue it's bad for all of us. Just some of us. I mean truly like it is so painful and bad for you and it just feels your hair. It's literally like I will make your hair dead so that it will lay down and then we were like this is beauty. My mom did my first one My mom is a white woman In a but she grew up in the black part of Portland and she worked in black salons and she went to cosmetology school and she was like a real stylist so then when she had a black child. You know I'm I'm one of those people that has a white parent who always knew how to do my hair like to this day. I was training for this tree ears truly and like this day. You'll still go to her house and she'll put in like Crochet Crochet air for me and stuff really God I fucking love that it's amazing. It's so great and she's always like I'm out of practice. I don't know the new techniques and I'm like you can braid tight. This is all that matters like you can do. More than a lot of people can But yeah she and it's funny because I think because I'm mixed a lot people assume that my hair is going to be loose which it is not as my grandma used to say. My hair is all the way back home so so I think because I was like a kid also going to school around a Lotta white people and my mom like worked crazy crazy hours all the time I think for both of us we were like we should just straighten this. I was like I don't want to sit here with you. Comb through it all the time and she was like I got time for that so we started relaxing it and she would just by that little box of dark and lovely. Oh dark and lovely. Yes we did a lot of dark and lovely. What were the other ones? There is just for me which had a little girl on it who I think. She had like a bump curl and a bump at the end. I was like oh I just WanNa look just like her in Hindsight WanNa go look. Y- soft Sheen Yup. Yeah there was a lot of them. There was a lot of boxed ones my mom handling very strong opinions about which ones were not good and which ones were but she wouldn't leave it on that long because I think she was like this is very bad for your head and your hair and you're a tiny so she wouldn't leave it online. Which meant I still had to like? Press the shit out of it if I wanted it to Straight Straight and then at some point. My Dad's started taking me to a black people salon and that's when the lie came out. Did you ever get live? I don't know the difference between the lion. No why literally like lie is the shit that like Malcolm x used to put in his hair and no lie was just. They reformulated the relaxers so that they didn't have to put that insane chemical in it. But you could still go to a salon and be like my hair's too tough for no lye relaxers so give me the hard shit. Oh my God it would put that trash in your hair and it. It's so much worse for you. That's like Cokes not doing it anymore. GimMe the yeah very like oh it was like a drug addiction wanting straight hair. See see that new growth and be like my hair won't lay flat. I need I need more. Oh my only only laid flat on the way home from the Salon. Yup I got all the way back here too and my hair just just never really cooperated and then I started wearing wigs and my signature wake is a big curly one. Because I I was like living in New York at the time and I was walking through Harlem and I saw all these women with big beautiful froze big curly hair and I asked one lady I was like. Your hair is stunning. How did you get to grow like that? She was like baby. It's like Oh okay. I'll do that so then. I bought my wig in that. Was that was that. And then then I was doing like long straight legs and now I only really wear like kinky relaxed texture if it straight or curly ones just. Because I don't know I just want to stick closer to two routes. Yes I I love the way you play with wigs. I'm always like looking at your instagram. And just being like okay okay. I see what she's done there. It's made me more curious about them because I used to feel like well. I had a stylist for a while back in Chicago. Who was like she used to put? We've and a little bit of extensions of my hair and stuff and she'd be like Why are you covering up all this hair with more hair? That's different and I was like. You're so then I started feeling some wake natural hair shame about I am blessed with a lot of hair. I should just wear it but I don't think it matters. I will say this when you do have a wig or A. We've it is just easier to throw your hair underneath and go yes or if you have like extensions it's like okay. I can like deep condition my hair. I can oil it. I can spritz it with water and they won't get frizzy and be healthy and grow and the wave of the we've fucking cares about that. Yeah that's a good point. That's why I've been loving braids and twists. I feel like five or six years ago. I started doing like a solid half the year in some kind of a Braider at twist and honestly I would do it all the time. But it doesn't book like the auditions They don't like they say they like it they go. Wow isn't this fun. But then you don't book the role Yes? I did have one audition where I went. This was last year. I had literally past my but for about a month because I kept closing it in car doors and then it started growing out. It was heavy We all WanNa hear once. We were so long. I closed in and car door. Didn't realize it till I was on the one. Oh One and I was like. What is this bug in my win? Oh no that's my hair that's braid. It was very fun. Like went to the audition dishing was like. I think I was good. But like don't don't think they liked me which happens all the time and then got a call that they were like. Oh they want you to go back for a test and I was like oh I get to test and then I went back and I had taken it out for another job and when I got to audition. They're like no braids and I was like what what was I called back to test because you liked the braids lattices. They're never happened but I was like. I have a braided wake that I can wear if you guys like the braids and like no but where do they go and then I had? It explained to them took them out of my hair didn't grow in braids God but Braids are definitely my summer style and I think it out like my summer style for forever. Now Yeah so it right now the sides of my head or shaved and then the middle is braided. So when it's down it looks like oh she just like thin braids like. Yeah then when it's up. It's like Ooh Baby. Feel the breeze. Little Rock and roll. Yes I like that. I think you seem punk and rock and roll and very metal. Think you only ever wanted to be met. No metal we. We're in Chicago did you live. I lived all over. I went to Paul so I started living in Lincoln Park. Um and that's why I learned to drink too much and then I moved to like all over the north side like Ravens would And then when I like was out of college and stuff like the Westside was of my jam the near West Side. Sorry to real. And so. We're going to be like the West. But I was in like a Ukrainian village and I moved down to Fulton market and I stayed in Fulton market until it turned into the terrifying expanse. That is now the West loop Yes yes yes my family lives in Chicago. That's why I think said it on the podcast. My sister lives on my whole family. Lives on the south side so I only know this outside and when I I had never been anywhere but this outside and downtown in the I would say at the time twenty seven years that I been going there to see my family and then when I started doing comedy was doing stand up and my friend. Matteo was like come showed the laugh factory which I think is on the north side and I got there and I was like there's so many white people know maybe then Wrigley. I don't remember but I was so confused I was like they all live here too and I it to my grandparents and they're like no we gotta dumb one but it's true the city so segregated you can go a while wild. I I knew when I was in college and I got on the red line going the wrong direction. You know within three stops because the color of people changes and you're like nope. I'm going north. I should be gone south. It's very strange. Yeah it's so weird I the more I got to know the South Side. I was like oh I fucked up. I should have been living down here. All the time My really close close friend. Lil is a born and raised south. Sider she still lives like a loop but she So she would like take. Her parents still live down there and like she would introduce me to restaurants and shit that I didn't know existed but the more my life got entrenched on like the kind of West and north side. It be it seemed like insane to move because I was like. I'll never see my friends in Ravens. Would if I go down to Hyde Park which is so wild because now here we all live like forty miles from each and still never see each other. Yeah I mean. When's the sheer moved? Here she was like A. I can't remember what neighborhood she was thinking about but I was like. Don't you dare move there. I will never see you. Never ever ever ever don't move to the To the west side. You can't do that. Yeah and thank God she didn't. I know thank God for all of us that she didn't have have been a bitch and Moan about do you. Do you have any single friends that have been talking about like zoom dating? I do Yeah I've got one friend that has been on several zoom dates and I think they are about to meet the other person in person which seems wild to make them then. Do you have to quarantine with them? How does this fucking work so I need? I actually need to get an update on that person soon because I have been hounding them. I've heard people will like the first step is like messaging. And then they face time. And then they do like a social distancing date where either to people sit in a car and I guess scream at each other. Oh or you go on. Like a social distancing. Walk so okay wait. Let me picture the car thing. What I'm picturing is like a movie where two cops need to meet in a parking lot. And so they pulled their cars up to the driver's side windows the knock. Is that what we're talking about? I think so I mean I was thinking side by side but then I was like so then you'd have to scream over the passenger seat right. So yeah I guess you would pull up so your driver's side windows are together but then are you too close because then you're not so. Then what are you trying to measure six feet between your? I guess I guess if I were to do this I would bring a measuring tape. But the idea drew makes me Not Nervous but upset. It's a little nerve wracking have.

"Are you comfortable with that? Is there anything about that either? The way the Obama Justice Department handled it that you disagree with those assessments of the facts to people who knew Michael Brown. The people who said differently with that being said Obama's just a Obama's government racism. Yes Harry pens and practices there. But here's the problem major. I'm under no Lucien and I don't want anyone of you. Listen listeners. To fall under the illusion that Democrats actually give about black people you understand. I don't want people to believe that. Think about this Obama's White House had the ability to prosecute the cop who killed Eric Garner. Who was later found? Guilty OF DE definite into department to hearing had the ability to prosecute that police officer federally federally in did not okay two weeks before. Hillary and trump were to go at it and the general election. He said you know what New York doing their job. We're going to bring the Eric Garner case to Washington. Dc and if you elect hillary she'll take care then they bring out the mothers of the movement out on stage with Hillary. What does Hillary done for these people? Since then would it? These democrats done to fix policing what about Rahm? Emanuel in Chicago and the videotape of a well publicized but much later publicized because it came out much later after the fact of an African American man in the middle of the street. Are you making a point by posing a question because you see the same things that I see major? I'm just asking. It's extremely hypocritical. It's extremely holes here to liberate black people who truly here to help immigrant. Who's really here doing that? Who I'm asking you we are. That's what that's your point. That's it not just not hawk. Newsom I am not the voice of anyone I am one or two voices And I just get to sit with people like you And they put me in front of a lot of cameras. And because I went to law school. Because I have a degree in community and you are in a prosecutor's office. How does that inform your perspective on this man interesting? When I took the job at the Bronx District Attorney's office. I was happy I was like okay. I'm GONNA do this. I'm going to go to law school. I get to see how this works. So Justice in Action Justice in action. Now the is the thing is I am not just somebody who grew up in the hood but I was really outside. I was really in the mix. I was really in thing. So I know people okay. So while I'm working in his prosecutor's office the police are telling me the police. The police are telling me how they beat people up every time they run laughing about it. I clean up. Well I wear nice suits throwing tie late feel comfortable. They think I'm on their side. I can't possibly be one of them. Guess what I am one of them a more like them than I am like you in every time I open up a file that has an allegation of resisting arrest. There is a lump on. Someone's head there's stitches somewhere in that person's body is even staples this time after time after time again in a district attorney isn't doing anything about it. Nobody is correcting these things. I have called so many different people in New York government to say. Hey Police are coming through after block parties in the summertime simple picnics and pepper spraying senior. Citizens they're hitting people with sticks they're abusing people like the Gestapo. I could bring you out one day to some and and I was like I need you to say something to stop it. Someone pointed to Tasers at my seven year old friends daughter. My friend seven year old daughter and I said hey you have to say something this is not right it was like this is not the way it works we. We can't just call the police out like that when I tell you that we are here as a movement as a people who saying no more politics as usual. Bernie's anti-establishment In his anti-state. That's why from your perspective is catching on to a certain degree. But even with him being anti-establishment we had to force him to say he was for reparations. Who's really on our side? Please stay tuned for takeout uptake. Espec- thanks for joining us from CBS. News this is the takeout with Major Garrett. Welcome back we're in the Bronx. We'd love to take the show on the road. Each and every opportunity we get and we think again. Noel Santos who is the proprietors of the Lit Bar Bookstore? The only privately owned bookstore in the Bronx. Thank you so much for letting us. In Hawk. Newsom chairman of Primer Chairman Chairman Chairman. Black lives matter of Greater New York. I WANNA play sound bite from you from a Ted talk you gave here in New York City back in two thousand eighteen August twenty fourth important date for me happens to be my birthday. I want that to run now and have a conversation the other side of it. That's number five arden. Are you going to be generation to say enough is enough? Because I'll tell you this many of you say if I were alive during the Holocaust I would have did done this. I would have done such and such if are alive during slavery. I would have done such ing such. We're living in similar times and I tell you that you're doing the same thing now that you've done back thin meaning nothing meeting asking yourself. What should I do or being sort of less active than a you could be or from your vantage point? Should be now one thing. I want to run by you. Because you know hawkish shows on sixty radio stations around the country you know. Some of the things you've said have already caused some people to snap the radio off. They're angry with you. They think that you are either to militant or too aggressive in either your language or your denunciation of police invoking Holocaust and slavery certainly within the Jewish community and most Americans. The Holocaust is sort of a separate place. A place of murderous intent that is singular in world history slavery. Also in many quarters in this country is regarded the same way. When you invoke those images and those events in history Are you doing so metaphorically or you doing so absolutely literally and saying this is happening? It's just slow motion and you can't see it and if you can't see it you're not properly motivated. When I was on the front lines in Charlottesville I saw people win. Mega hats so people with confederate flags. I so people with a swath Nicole. I saw people doing the Hail Hitler and they were chanting certain slogans right from that era. That's it so out loud public view without any apology without any apology in these or hesitation these white men who the president called very feinman so absolutely unambiguously and unequivocally on likening to struggle of Jews of Jewish people to that of black people. Why because you can't find two people who have been targeted as much as our people. Yes the Holocaust. Guess what we've been experiencing a Holocaust for centuries in we're still experiencing it like you talked about the tedtalk companies like Pepsi Cola. Mcdonald's Coca Cola dip poisoning. I've heard you talk about this. The the Corporate Food Empire. And how from your vantage point it is something that systematically tries to create consumers and then to use your words not mine addicts out of African Americans and why doesn't our why don't why don't people call them out because they give so much money in philanthropy day give so much money in philanthropy. That's why black lives matter. Greater New York has never taken a corporate dollar right. We've never taken money from government officials. This is all built by the people and for the people and we're here to protect the people from any in. All Enemies is love for humanity at its purest. Form vis is loved is no money in this. I really get to see my family. I do travel a very cool places. I do get to super cool people like you but I do is so much pain and trauma on a day-to-day basis. We do and we still do it. Out of love when we don't get many wins when we have the march when we have to sing when we have to fight. Fire lives into turnaround and hear people say. Hey you're angry. Well it's worth recalling that one of the phrases of the civil rights movement was. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. That's right I mean so. We have to be solutions lying. It wasn't a bookstore in the Bronx for years in Noel. We have created this right with really awesome books and see some grabbing. The spaces is beautiful but another thing we not talking about his gentrification right developers are coming into the Bronx in pushing people out the majority of people in Harlem on the long or black okay. It's why folk who will come in explaining the lower rent. So who's allowing this to happen? Look at new. York's politicians black politicians who are receiving two hundred and fifty thousand dollars from developers for raced. It only spans a few blocks not even a whole mile. There's so much insidious it's happening and then people say stupid things to. That's what I get frustrated. They say things to me like what about black on black crime. There's no such thing as black on black crime. Wipe people harm other white people? Asian Tom of agents. There's no such thing as black on black crime. We don't call it white on white crime. Never John is look quite. Here's the problem. Why don't people articulate the link between poverty trauma in crime? Only WanNa talk about his crime. But they're not talking about impoverished communities. They're not talking about depression and anxiety and a heart associated with being in these communities. Only WanNa talk about just a byproduct an end result in I. We just hit a talk. Speak the truth my brother so one thing we do on the show and this is the kind of lighten things up ever so much a I want to ask you. Three questions at every guest on the show is answered in our audience. Loves the answers though. You've shared a great deal about your personal story. This gives people another sense of your personal story so most influential book in Your Life. One of your favorite movies and if you're traveling as you often do long flight or long drive. I'm not telling anybody to do that. I'm just talking about occupy music. Music Man Right now. She grew on. What is it? I've been listening to Gary Clark Junior He's so dope. I Love Kendrick Jay Z. Let me think Cardi B. enable those that's like that those are the rappers that I listened to and you can always catch me listening to public enemy there. You go with that without a doubt Pleasure Oh one last thing yeah. I listened to TD. Jakes his daughter. Sara Jake's every morning like our I try to sit still. We'll take a style shower in Canada.
