"Mean everybody knows that so i mean it's yeah exactly you know and it's just one of those things where we are going to have to deal with whatever happens and i'm going to be honest with you if something does happen out of the ordinary. I'm going to be really surprised. Endeavor says if it doesn't work out now we're finished. I think we need to kind of start thinking that way right now because i think all this is going to go through exactly the way they'd plant. Rick here's here's the thing i to bring attention the fact. How do we heal this division. Guys i mean. I have neighbors okay. Neighbors next door to me. This one's for trump. this one's for biden. This one's for biden this for trump and it is causing people to depression all out war within families themselves sons again son. Sons against falcons against mothers against sisters everything and this division is something that we have to address before we can even think about a nation. Healy over what is happening. And that's what is really bugging me. As as i lost the landscape. And i talked to these people. We need to heal. We need to set there and come together as a unit and a unity within the people themselves first and then i mean it's all gonna come to to a head somehow someway guys i agree. But here's the problem. Here's the problem with the healing process of and everything else. So you know you can have an opinion. You can have an opinion. That's different from somebody else's right you can disagree with people. But then doesn't give you the right to hate that person for their opinion or for their belief right you throw a trump sign in your yard and they have a biden san near yard. That's fine dance cool. You know you like you know two percent note personally. I don't like that. I like whole milk. We don't have to hate each other over that right It's just so it's so crazy and the division you know up in d. c. now with the with the So much in my mind is hard to come out with the impeachment of trump. right now. that's not doing anything. But driving a wedge between people right now because of the hatred they had for trump. they're trying to impeach him on this final days out to ruin his legacy ruined his. You know his history and everything. It's just it's so deep is so disgusting. What they're trying to do right now in good old. You know aunt nancy. Gordon's ansi nancy pelosi. She is the ringleader of all of this shit and nobody up there likes her. Nobody can stand nancy pelosi. Nancy pelosi in you know. I don't know why gordon voted for her. But either way you know. She's up there in. She's the ringleader. In all this shit. She is the ringleader of all of this impeachment stuff. Gordon let's go to gordon. You know we love you. Gordon rick respect the fact that you talk about the nation the healing and the nation coming together as one on a united front against a common enemy but the only common enemy we have right now is in washington dc the divide that this country has was instigated propagated in continues to be to flourish because those people up in washington perpetuated blame trump for the capitol hill. They call it a capitol hill right correct and trump didn't come out and say anything like near what maxine waters. The nancy pelosi those other two idiots did when cities were on fire in me. People were being killed in the streets and blood was being spilled in the streets. But we don't talk about that we don't talk about. What the democrats do we just talk about. What donald trump may have meant. Goes back to a statement that he made about putting putting lysol in your veins to kill the corona virus. Obviously he was a serious. But we're going to jump on not a contract worse and right it all the way down to the finish line and then we're going to try to take two victory laps with it. The divide is coming from the leadership of the country. The left hand side when they promote bruce like pm when they promote groups like antifa when they say that these people's feelings are more important than what the country has going on as in in the world view and people like the four of us are sitting in our homes going shed. I gotta go to work tomorrow with all the things the the loved doing you going to have a job to go to work tomorrow too. If i lose my job how am i gonna pay my man very of we're not chemical of we're not concerned about. Hey you know if we get another riot started at this close to this targeted. We can go in there and get everything we need in. This is why say always everything coming out was just how we we've got a bad down the hat at the hatches. We've got his start focusing on what we have to do to survive and move forward because of what we wanted to mexico for years the next eight years i won't be one of those along the left to trump's back and says joe biden's not my president. I live in the united states. Whether i like it or not. He is my president. Unfortunately but you're right. And i said the last time you know. Unfortunately but here's the other part of that you know if if he was illegitimate. And you know one by corrupt and cheating technically. He's not our president but we still have to go with that fact that hey he is in charge and we have to do what if he is in. At least you know and this and that it's a nightmare. It is a nightmare you know but we have to accept that fact because we go to the point to where we say he's not my president also the shit. We're no better than a left. Was there president brin no better than that you know. We are better than that. We have to sit there and say okay. This cock sucker is our president. So now what do we do. We got with this shit some kind of way you know and this is again yeah. It's called being respectful but no it's called being american. That's what americans do. That's what the patriots do. We have to say okay. This shit is our president. So let's figure deal with it because we as patriots learn how to deal with things and learn how to fix things. Well here's where i'll look at it handouts from somebody else. Here's where i looked far left extreme freaked jobs. It's like being in the military. Okay you may not respect the person but you gotta respect the ring or the title tried. There's no difference. You may think you know your commanding all just a complete piece of shit but you gotta respect that ranked no matter what it is or what he is. I mean it's just a show. He's inaugurating he no. I can honestly say i respect. His title demand himself..
McConnell blocks $2,000 stimulus checks as Trump demands support
"Voted overwhelmingly yesterday. To increase covert 19 relief checks to $2000. They met President Trump's demand for bigger payments on then they sent the bill onto the GOP controlled Senate where it is stuck. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell today blocked unanimous passage of the $2000 covert stimulus checks that were requested by the president. Now it's important to point out because on social media people now feel that there are under the impression that it's dead. It was blocked. The bill itself has not been blocked. Um, wherever you getting information, because the the news media is saying it's blocked. It's not blocked. What happened was they called for A unanimous vote is basically what they call what they call it, But you mean that unanimous passage is what it is. So basically, you just call for immediate floor vote and everybody just cheers. Yea or nay, whatever the case may be on, and then it moves forward without further without discussion or without debate. That's what it goes with, and, uh, that was suggested, uh on and that was put out there and that was shot down. Senate Majority. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer asked for the unanimous vote on a five page bill that passed the House yesterday with 44 Republican votes, and McConnell blocked that that's what he blocked.

Yeah would i'd like to imagine a world in which rafael on the dow was not left handed never decided to to play left hand. All just ended up playing left handed. And it's one of the. It's actually one of the things that i wanted to come back to for for quite a while probably a year and a half ever since we did our rounded out story. Podcast when we were we went deep into his his past and tried to just chronicled his career from it from a very young age and during that process we had been like many other outlets taken in by a the the myth it turns out that his uncle tony had decided that he should play handed in order to be more successful in in order to discomfit his opponents more and we talked about that on that podcast and turns out. That isn't what happened. And we at the time i mean. I think that that podcast got some some great feedback. People enjoyed it. But a number of nadal diehard said cop believe you're still going with this view that refunded. The uncalled decided. He should apply left-handed. I one day. Because that's not the case. So i've also one day i'd like to really look into that and find out what the situation was and when we came up with sliding doors tennis and i chose. This is one of my my selections Matt's produced the referee on the dow autobiography which contains the following passage. I've seen reports in the news media saying that. Tony forced me to play left handed and that he did this because it would make me harder to play against well. It's not true. It's the story of the newspapers have made up. The truth is that. I began playing when i was very small and because i wasn't strong enough to hit the ball over the net. I'd hold the racket with both hands on the four hundred as well as the back end then. One day my uncle said there are no professional players who play two hens. Strictly speaking true. Monica seles did right. Fabrice santoro did right But anyway there are no place press professional players who played two hens. And we're not going to be the first ones so you've got to change so i did. What came naturally to me was to play left-handed why i can't tell because i ride with my ryan tend when i play basketball gulf or doubts. That was the way sounds order. I play right handed to but in football i play with my left and my left foot is much stronger than my rights. People say this gives me an advantage on the double handed backhand and that may be right having more feeling more control and both hands than the majority of players has to work in my favorite especially on cross court shots where a little extra strength helps but this was definitely not something that tony in. A moment of genius thought up. It's dumb to imagine that he might have been out to force me to play in a way. That did not come naturally to me so pretty emphatic rejection of that. That story that we've all kind of taken as just conceived wisdom from over the years a couple things that he's often talked about by commentators is looking like he's got to four hands conventional forehands in in the way he's able to strike the bowl in terms of the the sheer muscular. Trump-Kemp Dispute Creates Rift Within Georgia GOP as Runoff Elections Nears
"You might need to win an election is a unified message. But Republican unity is hard to come by in the state of Georgia. Right now, President Trump has called Governor Brian Camp a fool and a clown for refusing to overturn President elect Joe Biden's victory there. Kemp says intervening in the election would be illegal and pressure over that dispute is creating a rift within the state's Republican Party just three weeks before runoff elections that will determine control of the Senate from member station to be Abie in Atlanta ever hurt reports Earlier this month, Governor Brian Kemp gave a press conference at the state Capitol about George's plan to distribute the Corona virus vaccine. Well, good afternoon, everyone. First of all, let me thank you for joining us today. Also, the elephant in the room is politics and on the Facebook Live comments. It's center stage. This man has turned his back on his Republican Party, writes one Georgian Can't believe I voted for you. Camp sellout, says another. And don't bother to run again. You're finished. Needless to say, Georgia Republicans are divided right now. Some lawmakers air calling to override the governor and back the president by demanding a special session of the Legislature. We're here in Athens today, Bert Jones with US And bring the beach part of the gang of four, putting out a petition demanding a special session. They're trying to go around the governor they need to Republican State Senators, Jones and Beach were on the John Fredericks Show and National Pro Trump Radio program. Last week, they alleged large scale voter fraud, which Republican election officials have said didn't happen. Here's beach and I can tell you if we do not fix this, and that's why I'm so adamant about this. I'm so fearful. That we're gonna wake up January 6, and we're not gonna like what happened because it's not going to be a fair election. Beach and Jones are responding to pressure from their pro trump constituents like those tearing camp apart on the Internet and calling in on this show, Let's get to the phone lines. Where we have Caroline from Sandy Springs carry these senators, some say, are ready to break the law to back President Trump. But Caroline wants them to know it's still not enough. We are mad on being very nice right now. We need you to step up into your part. We need you to stand up for us. Now. The pressure is so fierce on Republican state lawmakers, it was difficult to find someone willing to speak on the record for this story. They're worried about being targeted. But one did. My name was Chuck Martin represented 49th district up in North Fulton County. Martin is a longtime Republican. He spent 18 years in the General Assembly and wishes President Trump won the election. But he liked the governor doesn't believe the Constitution allows the Legislature to intervene That hasn't stopped tens of thousands of emails from flowing in. I'm getting an email that says, Stand true to your oath of office do this. But standing true to my oath of office doesn't allow me to do that. It's been the most frustrating moment in his public service career, he says, because some people have been completely convinced by misinformation. Like one retired army colonel who is pushing for the election to be overturned. Martin responded with language from the state Constitution, saying, Please explain how I can legally do what you're asking me to do. And instead from him, I get no How instead you know, he calls me a coward. A traitor. You know somebody that won't stand up to my oath of office. That's frustrating to me. I mean, I take this job seriously. President Trump is creating a rift in the Republican Party at a very inopportune time, says Charles Bullock, a political scientist at the University of Georgia as we saw in November of this year The Republican Party doesn't have AH, large commanding lead within Georgia, It is rarely close. It could be the kind of division it opens the door for Democrats to do very well in 2022. Jeannie Bradley is a Republican voter from helps about in Eastern Georgia. She was at a Mike Pence rally this month. And she's just confused because of the mixed messages about the election and about her Republican leaders. But we need to know more. You know, you're getting bits and pieces from all of the news media. You don't know. What to believe anymore, And it's just not the news media. It's people you know. In general, Republicans will still have her vote. But there are other people, she says, who may throw up their hands in this chaos, vote democratic or skip the election. And if Republicans lose the run offs, the big divisions that have emerged since November will likely only intensify in the GOP for NPR news. I'm Emma hurt in Atlanta

Violence erupts during Paris protest against Macron's security law
"For the last five years, The French police have been overworked and under stress. There were the terrorist attacks in 2015 and in 2018, protesters wearing yellow vests took to the streets to denounce income inequality. In between have been endless strikes and demonstrations that often end in violent clashes with young anarchists. Police have been injured and targeted. In 2016, a police couple was killed in front of their child by a terrorist who broke into their home. So President Emmanuel Macron tried to push through a bill to criminalize the publication of certain images of on duty officers. Matches that Brodsky, a law enforcement researcher, explains. They did this. Maybe they just didn't say anything and didn't wanna say anything but it sounds like 'cause we've been ridiculed for it. Well they must've told somebody that follow is all the clients customers knew about it but i didn't say that we got so he goes the tweet storm the first thing they say is our current macroeconomic environment implies that there's going to be a ten to fifteen percent expansion twala monetary supply every year for the next three to five years in breakfast or more assets are going to inflate. What proportion of the company's assets will preserve the cash reserves. They put into bitcoin not the amount. 'cause if micro strategy said we've bought five hundred million dollars worth of bitcoin and that was only ten or twenty percent of their their reserves. It would make me less than putting all right. So i think that's a good metric. What proportion of the companies reserves not. How much money do they invest in it. Because that's more this objective risk that the company is taking rather than the objective value placed on the stack of money right so that we got restaurants the next company to put all of the business currency reserves into bitcoin. Who's going to be next. Who do you think's going to be next. Let me know.

We promised self reflection itself with correction. Then we doubled down on the russia. Collusion narrative of course was entirely false. But it wasn't presented in an even-handed way ever and then instead of being concerned how wrong we were on that. We doubled down in our campaign coverage in the election coverage. Make sure we don't talk about certain things make sure certain published. Peer reviewed studies are hidden if they don't come to the right conclusion for whatever they're paid interests are the ones who are pulling strings and then now in the smear we talk about how this is expanded because in my view one those controlling narratives in our news have been pretty successful with the news. They saw that. We could still get pretty much unfettered information and studies and opinions and news on the internet. So they said about twenty sixteen and a very organized. Way to begin shaping. The internet and i think that's where we are today seeing the results of that influence. And it's been very clever. They had to convince us to invite these third parties. The ones who are conflicted and the sensors they had to convince them to invite them into the fold so that we would welcome them reading information and censoring. Our news and a lot of people are doing just that today is true. Do you believe the parlor has a chance. Given the fact that half of americans now the what you just said is true does parlor have a chance to become dominant and not and not censor people i do. I think that has a chance that i will also tell you that smart technical people have been working on an are working on many different alternatives for news information platform so that information can be delivered kinda like it used to be without the censorship so people can go back to finding real information and nothing told what they have to think and i think some of these smart people will be coming up with more and more solutions and alternatives so that you can't be the platform for your opinions or for posting a study. They don't want you to see or whatever it may be. I think we'll see more of that. In the next four years right chatting with sheryl adkison author of slatted. The media taught us to love censorship. And hey journalism and i'm curious cheryl at drives you as crazy as it does me. I've noticed in the last will certainly in the era of trump and increasingly since the twenty twenty campaign started in earnest the phrase by used by supposedly straight journalists. the phrase without proof has crept into almost every trump story regardless of what he says. The president said without evidence bla-bla-bla instead of the president said blah blah blah and. i'll decide. Are you seeing that. Yeah you love reading the book. Because there's a whole chapter. On that. That i call the verbiage of the narrative how the press dutifully adopted this propaganda phrase and use it in a weapon one one-sided fashion against only president trump i talk about how silly and meaningless it is the way they use it and then of course what you probably already noticed the press accusing trump and his supporters and so on if saying that evidence while they are usually thank things that evidence well. They pursue the russian narrative for three years. Either with no evidence or false evidence you know as if they utterly lacks the self recognition to know that they're doing exactly what they're trying to use other people have doing but pretending not to notice without irony. Jim rose you Probably don't care much what they think but I don't suppose you've been welcomed into the washington press corps inner circle How much backwash have you gotten. Not just from this cheryl but from some of your other outstanding things that have been said and written there has been the propaganda campaign against me again. Wage by the same people i write about. And so that permeates some of the what you would call mainstream media who ford false information and attack and controversial is but to my face. I get none. Nobody says they things to me. I get more often. That people agree. And if you get a chance to read the book you'll see. I think people will like this. I be dozens of people again in positions of journalism who described themselves as liberal by the way progressive if they describe themselves politically at all. Who agree with what we're saying about the death of the news as we once knew and in a very candid and the book talking about what's gone wrong and why they think it is particularly when it comes to my alma mater. Cnn people waiting a lot executive to work there reporters who works there and they talk about what they think has gone wrong. And i think that exemplifies. What's happening in the industry at large. So that's a really important chapter you know. I'm curious how you think about this because one of the things bothered me in the last month or so. Is this from the right wing. This attempting to dunno platform is not the right word but this harsh criticism and in some cases boycott of fox news because not all of their opinion journal opinion hosts have told the line if you look at their news product bret baier in particular as a straight as it calms. Does it bother you. That there's there's the fierce pushback by the right against fox news well. I'm not surprised because they saw that. As the one place in a landscape and see of what they see as liberal oops looks like we lost cheryl. No got it now. We're about done anyway. But i appreciate her coming on cheryl adkison again the book Slanted how the news media taught us to love censorship and hate journalism..

"I think that the fact that he has shown that America is back in business that it is not going to be a passive bystander to evil in the world which can threaten. America and threaten Israel. But it's actually going to take a stand against bad people. It's going to take us down. So he took a stand against Iran, for example. He did not he very much. A renounced the whole craven business of appeasing Iran which was basically leading the world to completely nightmare scenario and still is Ron. Still there is still poses a terrible threat but the fact that he showed that he was not prepared to go along with that any war and the fact that he showed that he was not prepared to stand by and allow Israel to be endlessly blackmailed in the way that has been blackmailed and an America and the West have stood by one, it's blackmailed all those decades. And that has changed the dynamic in the Arab world in a way in which we we would never even a few years ago you would never have thought possible. The Our world now needs Israel and America to help it defeat Iran. It believes that it can't do it without them. It believes that with President Trump in the oval office. America will remain true to that intention and so that immediately changes the whole dynamic vis-a-vis Israel. So from that point of view alone, that is a source of considerable optimism is not to say it's going to be played sailing at all. Or there won't be terrible bumps along the way or the Iran won't stop Nego completely beserk and do terrible things but it does mean that is more optimism than there was on the cultural front similarly. The onslaught by the left the onslaught on freedom and on decency and morality and truth is accelerating no question about that. The Madness of identity politics veers from one lunacy to another but they're losing. And the more desperate they get the more extreme Leggett in the more extreme they get the more you know that they are getting more and more desperate why they desperate because they have suddenly not suddenly, but they have been forced to acknowledge some part of themselves that the Lai they've told themselves that. "The virus doesn't care whether you're standing succeed apart and social distancing in a grocery store versus the church as long as you're able to implement the the regulations in a uniform way VACs constitutional but once state governor start saying you're essential and you're not that is absolutely a bridge too far. I think that there are a lot of groups that are starting to see that and are starting to push back on state orders and hopefully with now the conservative appointments that we've seen throughout the federal court system and hopefully As low within states. We're going to see a lot of the courts pushing back on this and say no. That's a bridge too far that that was incredibly clarifying John Thanks. I was great You know when you wrote an article one of the things that's been deemed non-essential in some states and essential and others is of course abortion access. And you wrote an article about this Saying that the Supreme Court. I'm I'm sorry that saying that the fifth circuit has correctly held that the Texas Order That is making it more difficult to get an abortion is in fact the right way to go. What what do you think? What do you think the answer is here in? Terms of is abortion. I mean obviously if you want an abortion you gotta get it within a certain time period does that make an essential service right and so what the fifth circuit correctly held is that at an abortion is not an emergency medical procedure. Abortions are always a medical intervention and an elective surgery that specifically causing the death of the child and so even though there is a limited timeframe only because once the baby reaches nine months or thereabouts and is born. We have a law that recognizes that a child as a person and and somehow miraculously attach his rights there. But let's let's be honest about this. Why is that the arbitrary standard? So if we're if we're taking this From the science then at no stage should an abortion. Actually be legal. Because what's the difference to nine months nine years ninety years it's just the difference where The baby is an age of the human being is an age and where they're physically located inside the womb or out so what the fifth circuit though correctly held is that an abortion is not an essential emergency service. It's an elective procedure. Just like a lot of other elective procedures that have been put on hold in the midst of a pandemic because you have a scarce resource which is the healthcare workers as well as the PPA equipment that are needed elsewhere. And so it's not a total ban on abortion. It's simply saying this isn't service and so what planned parenthood has done now is appealed to the Supreme Court. And I think you're going to be very fascinating to see if originalist conservative majority is going to actually correctly hold than an abortion is a medical intervention rather than a necessary medical procedure and as they shift the posture and the definition of abortion accurately reflect what it is. I think we're going to start seeing the tide turning and hopefully eventually roe versus Wade And that whole standard Repealed in this country because abortion absolutely killing a child you know I have to ask you a question. You and iron the exact same page on abortion so. I'm actually playing almost literally the devil's advocate here. But I the left frequently criticizes us and says by making these kind of Glancing arguments like. Oh it's not an essential service. What we're really trying to do is take away the right to an abortion and I feel the left is right about this that you know that is what we're trying to do when we say Oh you have to be able to get to the hospital. We're really trying to stop them. There's interest of killing the babies. You know I is it wrong to do it in this piecemeal way or should we should we go at it. Full tilt is. Would it be more honest to God at full tilt or? Is this the kind of weaponry? We have You know I think that's a good question. And the left has been so great at incremental ISM right and so in the conservative majority is incrementally shifting the law back to where it should be. I don't see a problem with that but I also don't think that this is Just a textual argument or something. That's a thin veneer because Roe versus Wade also at Planned Parenthood Versus Casey. All of these that have shaped abortion law in the United States. The left will still say what you just did. Which is that. A woman has a right to an abortion. That's not true. That has never been upheld in any court including the United States Supreme Court. What they found is that a woman has a right to privacy which then allows her certain medical decision making in some instances that the federal government can't intervene so roe versus Wade. Then had this bouncing costs of recognizing the government's compelling interest in preserving and protecting life then they balanced with a woman's right to medical privacy in decision-making I genuinely believe that if roe versus Wade in nineteen seventy three was before the court that same exact case in twenty twenty all of the ultrasound and the medical information that we now have that shows that life begins at conception it shows a fetal heartbeat at five and six weeks. That case would not have come out in that way. And so we are incrementally rolling this back Whether it's the pandemic that evidence is that whether that's you know whatever the the The text or the fact pattern is that goes up before the court. It's okay to roll it back incrementally as well because the government absolutely has a compelling interest in preserving and protecting life at all stages and. That's something that no right to privacy or other kind of right should be able to infringe on On a woman having a so called choice to kill a child a new. There was a reason we missed you. You're absolutely great. That was really terrific and clarifying. I really appreciate you coming on. I hope you do it again soon as you say. I hope you're in California soon. "This is when somebody's the president of the United States the authority is total. And that's so it's got to be thirty. Two total ARNA GOVERNOR. So go you have a couple of bands of excuse me. Excuse me you have a couple of bands of of Democrat governors. But they will agree to it. They will agree to the authority of the president of the United States. Having to do with the subject. We're talking about total. No idea what he's talking about there. There's obviously there's no total power. And he was supposedly anywhere in the United States of America. It certainly doesn't rest with the president. And how how? The states decide to reopen their economies. His his decisions at the federal level will of course be important if Democrats try to drag. Their feet will be enormous pressure on together. But like the thing of it is none of us believe this I mean you can love trump t- till doomsday believes that what he said is true. It's not true. He doesn't have absolute power about anything. I mean this is still America America with the flu but it's still America. He doesn't have absolute power. It's going to be the states are GONNA have to make a lot of decisions You know the Gavin newsom is going to have to decide when he wants to take off certain local orders that have been put out about mask-wearing and things like this in Michigan. The governor's going to have to decide when she's GonNa take off military uniform and the big napoleon hat with a feather in it That's for her to decide. She wants to walk around like that goosestepping across the balcony of the State House. That's something that trump can't stop her from doing. Obviously he has tremendous power. But the reason the reason we don't hear when trump says dopey things is to two big reasons. Okay one is. He has not done one single thing. I cannot think maybe maybe I'm missing something. I cannot think of one single thing that Donald Trump President Donald trump has done that has hampered by freedom. Mike Constitutional Freedom has not been hampered in one way that I can think of by President Donald Trump whereas whereas people firing people or hounding your sponsors or destroying your economic life and your livelihood because you said something that they disagree with and they have suddenly deemed at hateful that does destroyer Freedom Barack Obama using the irs to shut down a conservative voices during the election. That does harm the process by which your freedom lives. Donald Trump has done none of that. So we know that Donald Trump's has goofy stuff. Sometimes he goes off the top of his. You know he's talks off the top of his head and he loves to troll the press and sometimes he makes all. I don't know anybody I don't know anybody who loves trump so much that he is not sometimes made crazy by the things. Trump said. He doesn't do things he doesn't do. Bad things with the press does the Democrats do. The Democrats have done things again. And again that have hampered our freedom engineering that complete hoax about Russian collusion. Impeaching the over zippy. Do nothing you know Holding up a distracting the nation distracting the nation over absolutely nothing. These are things that do hamper The the right actions of government and do hamper our freedoms and trump doesn't do those things and the the second reason we don't mind is because the fact trump is a little bit nuts is why he has the courage to take them on the fact that he does not lose a minute sleep worrying about whether they call him a racist worrying about whether they call him a sexist. He doesn't lose a minute sleep over it that takes. Oh you've got to have a link missing somewhere. Be just a little you got. You either have to be like me living on another mental planet or you have to be like trump. Who's living on this planet by just doesn't give a damn and I think that that's one of the reasons we every now and again. He says something like that. And we shrug we shrug it not hampering my freedom. I don't care if he says that if he does anything about it I'll be. I will be the first person to acknowledge that. He has stepped over the line but he doesn't the words come out of his mouth he doesn't do a thing whereas whereas they come after this thing the this false narrative. They're always putting up they they. It's so amazing. They love faculty because he is a medical expert so his predictions have been catastrophic. Right he has to give trump the bad news. That's his job. It's trump's job to decide. Is Trump. Stop to decide whether to listen to Fowleri. It can't blame vouching for coming in and saying look. The computer model says a gazillion. People are going to die. That's what he's working with. That's what he has to do. You know the idea that somehow he's the blame for that you can hear when you actually listen to him and not to report about him you hear that. He speaks a very careful way. It's up the trump to decide the fact that he went on TV and said and I played it yesterday and he didn't say oh. Trump didn't start soon enough. This whole argument by the way is an argument babies. Nobody gets these things right all the way. I mean there's argument for children. I don't even care about it but I have to put it forward because it's this false narrative so he went out and he clarified that no it was not trump who was holding back. He's cut five the first and only time that doctor burks and I went in and formerly made a recommendation to the president to actually have a quote shut down in the sense of not really shut down but to really have strong mitigation. We discussed it. Obviously there would be concerned by some then fact that might have some negative consequences nonetheless. The President listened to the recommendation and went to the mitigation okay. So trump acted fast. They hate this Paula Reid from CBS. She.

"His team is on it. They've been responsive late at night early in the morning And they've Thus far been doing everything that they can do and I want to say thank you. You know that the first woman in there was Maggie Haberman whom I'm always hammering for her dishonesty inner bias which is real but you know this is the thing that is a very very different picture of trump obviously than the media wants to portray so. He's rewriting history. He's just telling his side of the story and he's doing it fearlessly and he's doing it in their faces and that is what everybody loves to see. Everybody loves to see it because everybody has been oppressed. It is oppressive to have to lie. It is oppressive to have to say. Oh men and women of the same or women who think they're men or men or or you know. Black people are not responsible for themselves because of history of oppression is oppressive to have to lie like that. All the time and people love watching Him Torch. "Stuff There was the other that was Jim. Acosta you know and the thing is is that the whole thing about the press is trump is mean. He's crazy he's angry but you know the thing is it's not about trump. The fact is it takes a trump to break through their walls of lies. And that's what I'm talking about. They don't know they don't entirely know that. They are tools of the postmodern left. They don't know that they've become oppressive. They don't know that everything they say is alive because they're all surrounded by people who agree with them but we know and people are afraid and it took a trump to stop and fight back. It's an amazing amazing thing. All right we're GONNA talk more about that press conference because it really was. It really was a moment where you saw. This is why people love the sky and is why they hate them because they also said a couple things that were Kinda goofy and we understand that. It's his goofiness. It's the fact that he is living on. A planet trump. That makes him able to do this when other people are afraid. They're afraid of losing. Their jobs are free to losing this sponsor. They're afraid of losing their friends. They're afraid of losing their social media platform and they and they have created. It's the left. It's Jim Acosta. Cnn AND MSNBC AND NBC. That have created this fear and they don't know that they're the tools of a leftist philosophy that has been taught in universities. They are just unknowing unwitting tools because they're part of that philosophy because everyone around them as part of that philosophy everyone they know is part of that philosophy all the cool kids to their minds are part of that philosophy and they've become a fine with it fine with being the tool of that oppression and the fact that we're afraid is just a mark of what how deplorable. We are the fact that we're afraid of losing her. W If you weren't racist if you weren't sexist if you weren't all the things that the left has created the ideas that the left has created as being the seven deadly sins then you wouldn't have this problem everything would be a piece but with a really telling you is. They are in control of reality like the old show. The outer limits from the sixties wearing control of your television set. Don't touch that dial will. Donald Trump has touched the dial and he's changed the channel and it drives them nuts and it took a guy like him to do it. I mean this is something I've been saying from the beginning after ever since his election. I said you know the people knew what they were doing. When they elected the sky. They saw that he was out out there. They saw that he was different that he was eccentric in sometimes. He said things that were not defensible. I think we a lot us even the people who like him see that about him but it requires that to give us a voice against this incredibly massive power yesterday talked about Dean McKay at the New York Times or former newspaper and the fact that he's basically saying they put out this This story on Joe Biden which was basically excusing him for the accusation that he had pushed a woman up against the wall and shoved his hand into her body. They are saying well no there. This didn't happen. Their state. Seven other women who say that. He did similar things that they didn't like though not as graphic and not as bad clearly a situation. Sort of like the Cavanaugh Situation. Except this lady who made the accusation Told people about it at the time. Remember the details in ways that Christine plsy four did not however obviously the news the Times went out and they just went after. Cavanaugh with a pitchfork. Where this they're doing everything they can to cover up so they obviously knew that they had blown themselves up and make themselves look like the corrupt dishonest leftist liars. That they are they knew you know the the thing is when when they don't want to be exposed to themselves they don't care if you know because they don't care about you deplorable. They care that they know they care that they can't that that little fog of self righteousness and virtue that the left has created for someone that part they get upset so they actually ran an interview with vacate in the New York. Times in which he was asked a questions about You know why they did this. Why did the like for instance? The guy asked the question. I want to ask about some edits that were made after publication. The deletion of the second half of the sentence. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr Biden. And then they deleted the word beyond the hugs kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable. Why did you do that here? Is deemed McKay's answer word for word. Even though a lot of us including me had looked at it before the story went into the paper I think that the commission campaign meaning Joe Biden's campaign. I think that the campaign thought that the phrasing was awkward and made it look like there were other instances in which he had been accused of sexual misconduct. And that's not what the sense was intended to say. In other words the sentence wasn't intended to tell the truth but it suggested the truth. Biden's campaign complained so dutifully deemed McKay and the New York Times edited by campaign. How corrupt is that? How insanely corrupt as it is it. How corrupt is the Dean? Barricade doesn't know it's up these publishing this in his own newspaper. Not because he's so honest he's admitting to corruption but because he doesn't know he's corrupt he is in merced completely immersed in this leftist soup where are false consciousness has to be corrected in order to create the universal equality that we're all searching for. It's an amazing amazing phenomenon. And what else is amazing? Is Chris Cuomo? Who has been sick? He's been he's had the corona virus. I hope he's getting better. I think he is. He went on his podcast and said that in this moment of facing stillness and being sequestered. He came to terms with a lot of things a lot of things that he's doing in his life and he had this to say about his job. Well I don't like what I do professionally. I've decided I like doing this. Show I like talking to you guys but I don't value indulging irrationality hyper partisanship. I don't think it's worth my time anymore. why because. I don't want to spend my time trafficking in things that I think are ridiculous. I don't want to spend my time on television talking to Democrats about things that I don't really believe they mean and I don't want to spend my time talking. Republicans about them parroting things that they feel they have to say is that you know. This explains an anomaly that I have noticed. I pointed it out to three times on the show the fact that a lot of times you listening to Chris Cuomo and everybody calls him freight. Oh the stupid brother. And you'd see them with Don Lemon anything this Guy Don Lemon of the two stupidest people on TV. And then every now and again Chris. Cuomo will say something. You go wait a minute. That's a really good point. That's a fair point that is that is an actual intelligent insight. And it's obvious that he is chained to this corrupt system when he got out of it when he broke out of it and got sick. Listen he and I are not going to agree on anything. That's fine. I got no problem with that. People people disagree but I think that he went into that that sick room and he suddenly thought you know in this system does nothing but churn out nonsense and it does. It does nothing but turn CNN. There's nothing worth CNN. And you know the the thing about it is listen. We're all we all feel these boundaries. I mean I feel like there are things that well I say them because I never shut up about anything but but you know I know that every time I criticize trump get hit by the trump. I get hit with criticized trump by the trump beans. And if I say he's a great guy and he's doing a good job. I get element occult. I'M GONNA call so you know that you're always against these things you always have these limits on what people will allow you to say now on this show. I say because I just don't care much about what people are saying about me but I think this is an insight that he had so so trump hits these guys and he. Let's play a little bit more of those videos. Play clip nine where you're showing that. The basically he's done a good job which I think is actually true as there were more cases and it was clear that it was spreading out of China where originated. The president. Took this move that he was widely criticized for by Democrats and even some Republicans at the time which was halted a number of flights from China into the US. The idea was to halt the spread of the disease. Keep transmissions to a minimum. He was accused of xenophobia. He was accused of making racist. Move at the end of the day. It was probably effective because it did actually take pretty aggressive measure against the spread of the virus..

Just all the different press outlets on fire. Joe Black and trump saying any other questions. He played a video showing that they acted slower on the on the virus than he did. Let's play a little bit as cut eight. People should be more concerned right now. With the flu. In this country people are concerned about the chronic buyers. Because they're hearing a lot of news about it right now but the reality is comparing it to flu. For example it's not even close to being a stage. What if it is worse? I is this a moment where maybe country he's put politics aside a little bit of pride aside and do we have. Us officials should US professional. Such as yourself get involved. Americans be about corona virus is.

"Is the Andrew Claybin show. I also say topsy zippy's so wonderful to see Robin A- all right a snowman out of rubber bands who writes this stuff for some time. I've noticed that while I personally remain. An absurdly jolly person my perspective on the country and the world has grown kind of dark. I noticed this as I was finishing the last book of another kingdom at occurred to me that while the book is clearly a story of faith and courage and hope it's view of human society is not what you would call particularly flattering at one point. I actually considered whether I wanted to rewrite the book to make the World Look less overwhelmed with corruption and obviously if you listened to the podcast I decided no the truth is always best. The odd thing is that what bothers me about. Our current moment is not all the stuff I disagree with is the widespread fear of speaking simple truths. I can endure the rise of idiots socialism on the left even the possible decay of our constitutional republic. History be like that sometimes what has darkened. My view is what I'll call the increasing police power of the empire of lies. The increasing willingness of powerful interests like corporations and politicians to shutdown honest approaches to reality. It doesn't bother me a bit. That thinker should explore different views of gender. For instance. It bothers me enormously that you can lose your job for saying men and women are different. It doesn't bother me that people have. Reinvented racism is identity politics and intersectional. Ism tribalism is a human constant constant. What bothers me? Is that the challenge. This flagrant leftist. Racism can cost you your livelihood and your reputation. It doesn't bother me that there are different views about gay people. It sincerely bothered me. The traditional views have been rewritten as some kind of raging hate which they're clearly not all of this arises from leftist ideas Marxist ideas specifically the idea that our values our morals our consciences are false constructs created by powerful interests and they have to be deconstructed and remade by the all knowing left to ensure absolute human equality. The result IS CENSORSHIP ENFORCED BY LAWSUITS. Firings social media news media mobbing and the fear these sorts of practices create in the slave state of the Soviet Union. Or as we now call it. Bernie land there used to be something called double consciousness. This was when a Soviet censor had to read forbidden material about the success of capitalism and the failure of socialism then he had to censor that material to create a false narrative for the public and then he had to go on believing the censored version that he himself had created even though he knew the truth it was kind of induced mental illness describing the world as it is first necessary step toward a joyful wipe and toward right and wrong more toward right moral action the postmodern left by enforcing their lies about the human condition with seriously crippling penalties are making describing the world as it is impossible and they're imposing that Soviet double consciousness on all of us we increasingly live in an America and a West where only heroes and madman are willing to describe the world honestly. Let's hope we have enough heroes in madman to make this change all right once again. Let me say a deep. Thank you to our sponsors who are sticking with us during this time. It's tough on all businesses. It's stuff on our business. We know it's tough on your business and so we're glad they support us. We hope you'll support them We really do. And here's absolutely true. Story went to bed at eleven o'clock last night. Fell deeply asleep. Woke up at midnight and could not go back to sleep was just wired for sound took out my abide APP. Abide is the number one christian meditation APP and abide users report less stress lower levels of anxiety and depression and better sleep. I listened to abide. You can set it for different times. You can set them. It's a guided meditation and you can set up for different times. I said for five minutes which I think is the second because two minutes five minutes. Fifteen minutes and onward. I said it for five minutes. Listen to it for five minutes to an entirely different zone. Got a very deep. Good night's sleep afterwards. It is really quite something. I like it because it's theology is sound. It's not sentimental. It's not a Gooey or stupid it just tells you Christian Biblical truths that helps you to think on them in a meditative way that relaxes you. It really is something else really I am. I am very big fan of this APP..

"Struggle Meghan markle. Nobody feel sorry for Utah which was signing up for girl. Collapsing is classic. I think American isn't supposed to your emotions. Don't matter if you're in the royal family right that's the whole point. And that the whole show the queen that everybody's watching the doesn't show her promotions. She does she does. She does her duty right. The crown the crown. Sorry that she you can tell him deeply involved. I am in the politics of the British monarchy. Such an American the thing is you know. No one's asked me whether I'm okay you know you're a princess We don't care whether you're okay right just supposed to do your job so now. They come out on instagram. Ram and they megan and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. I can just call them so I don't have to remember their names They put out this thing says after many just like me talking about astrophysics something. I do not understand it all. After many months of reflection and internal attornal discussions we have chosen to make transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. Which I take it is not the institution she's can be put in if she keeps talking like that? I think that's the institution of the Royal Family. We intend to step back. A senior members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent. Didn't while continuing to fully support her majesty the Queen now the one thing I do know because I did live in England is all this. This verbiage is meaningless. It's like you can't can't you can't carve out a new role within the institution and if they're going to become financially independent they're going to have to make a load of.

"She's GonNA NFL at this. She's already filled and now it's not just Republicans it's Democrat senators put. What's even worse? It's Dianne Feinstein. This is her home. Senator but it's her hometowns senator from San Francisco. She literally said if it's so urgent. Ev You keep it. It loses his urgency. Either Senate over our. Don't send it at all. Aw It's crushing her. So so Pelosi came out today. She came out today to make a statement in their first statement was about this war powers. bill that they're going in a pass in the house to sort of rebuke President trump. Maybe we'll get a chance to talk about that a little bit. But then she went into the impeachment thing and she is holding her ground she is not going to. Oh Yeah. Why don't you going to turn over the impeachment? Because it's embarrassing it's absurd it is an shoddy piece of work done half in secret. They didn't call any witnesses and what she's saying is now now. I need to know what the Senate is going to do that. They're gonNA call some witnesses. They weren't going to the House didn't call. So here's the policy statement this just this morning on impeachment we need to see that the arena which we are sending our managers as that too much to ask at some point. We would hope that we would see from them but the terms of engagement will be. We are ready. We are proud of our defense of the constitution of the United States. As we are concerned that the senators will not be able to live up to the oath that they must take to have an impartial trial. So much for that we will not let them say. Oh this is just like Clinton fear fair is fair. It's not documents documentation. Witnesses facts truth. That's what they're afraid. Species speaks argument. That is not like it's not like the Clinton impeachment because they're you're afraid of facts and witnesses and truth. It's the same process. It's the same woman. I you know the thing that gets me about Nancy. Pelosi is the New York Times and CNN in an MS meeting the elevator. But she such a transparent you know and by the way. She's a politician. Mitch McConnell does this to Mitch McConnell. Say anything he needs to say. These guys are her. These guys are who they are they twist and turn and they work the political system. I get that but you know. Are we going to elevate them to this. They elevate Nancy Pelosi. I mean to this level that she some kind of either the wiliest politician of the world or she some kind of liberal saint just as a little sidebar. I have to just go off on a little bit of a tangent here for a minute. Adam Smith the I think he's the chairman of the House. Is it intelligence committee of the house Defense means anyway. Big Democrat Congressman. And he's he's on CNN and the guy asks him well. Do you agree with these senators. Who are calling for Pelosi to put up or shut up? And here's what he says. I understand what the speaker is trying to do. Basically trying to use the leverage of that to work with Democratic and Republican senators to try to get a unusable trial. A trial would actually show evidence. Bring out witnesses. But at the end of the day just like we control the House Mitch. McConnell controls in the Senate I think it was perfectly advisable for the Speaker to try to leverage that to get a better deal at this point. It doesn't look like that's going to happen. And yes I think it is time to send The impeachment to the Senate and Mitch McConnell be responsible for the fairness of the trial the ultimate is then this morning he tweets I ah later. In the day he tweets out I misspoke this morning. I do believe we should do everything we can to force the Senate to have a fair trial. If the speaker believes leaves holding onto the articles for a long time will help force a fair trial in the Senate than I wholeheartedly support that decision. Please Mrs Pelosi. Take your your hands off my crotch. I added that part is obviously the unspoken undertoned. Nancy Pelosi is not letting your boys strayed strayed too far day. Oh Mr Smith's but she's up against Mitch. McConnell I mean Mitch McConnell listen these are these are too old warhorses I and I pay Nancy Pelosi respect for being the old warhorse she is for knowing she can lie and lie in lie and twist things and the press will cover for. She knows she's dealing with that world. But Mitch McConnell also knows that we will hear from him to and the the constitution says that the Senate has sole all power to try the president in an impeachment. They have the sole power to try the impeachment. And here's what Mitch McConnell said about her leverage supposedly the explanation for this shameless Louis game playing is speaker Pelosi wanted leverage leverage to reach and to the Senate and dictate our trial proceedings to up now made clear from the beginning that no such leverage exists. There will be no haggling with the House oversight over Senate procedure. We will not see authority to try the impeachment. The House Democrats turned his over. The Senate has made its decision. This this goes for the this war. bowers thing too. Nancy Pelosi spoke about that to play the clip where Pelosi talks about this war towers resolution last week. In our view of the president the administration conducted a provocative disproportionate airstrike against against Iran which endangered Americans and did so without consulting Congress. We are passing today a war powers resolution to limit the president's military With Terry actions the administration must is the escalate and must protect prevent further violence. America and the world cannot afford four protecting defense and we take not only our constitution but of the American people pray for peace. That's what we must do and so what what happened. You of many of us is not a promoting peace but an escalation not that we we have any confidence and the goodness are the good intentions of of Iran. And we. Certainly I do not respect from my intelligence background know. Just how bad Sulamani was. It's not because we expect that. Good things from them but we expect great things from us. He's shameless. I mean you gotta give her that she he is shameless. I like the provocative disproportionate Thing like who we provoking these been at war with us since nineteen seventy nine so I'll provoking and how's it disproportionate when they not only killed this one guy not only responsible for the death of over six hundred American service people but has killed thousands of other people alive you know how is it disproportionate To blow blow him up good. It is obviously not but anyway Again all of this is show. None of it is a reality. The the the they can pass a war powers resolution all they want. I'm POW passing a resolution that everyone has to Bowed down as I walk by Betsy Revolution that. I can fly when I flap my arms. It don't matter a damn thing and you know I was a little disappointed. Mike Lee came out and they had this. They had this Briefing this post is to Attack briefing and he didn't like it was apparently dismissive of the Congress. And said you shouldn't be able to debate this and all this and Mike Lee came out and he was really ticked ticked off and said Oh you know. I'm insulted by this. We have a right to we. Have the word declaring a PA- possibilities and so I'm going to vote for this war powers Resolution You know I get it. I'm sure if Mike Lee says that the briefing was bad it was bad. I believe that but you know. Cool Your Ego Powell and do do the right thing because this is really a there should be no show from the congress saying that the commander in chief does not have the right to do this but all of this this show and one of my question is this. Do the people catch on or not. We know that the left has this amazing amazing Communications network the networks works the New York Times The Washington Post all of them working for the left. Will the people catch on or not. And that's what we're going to have to see. We have to see what the poll sale the polls lie as well but I believe the truth will out. I believe Americans still know the truth when they hear it. Hey I gotta take a break from facebook and youtube but come over to daily wire dot com. I WanNa talk a little bit about the story about the royals in England but before I talk about it I want you to know that I'm talking talking from a position of almost the purest in ignorance. I I mean my ignorance is like a little re Serene Ray of light. Your ignorance serene it is pure org nursery and I. I don't follow the royals at all. I don't really care about my lived in England for seven years and I didn't follow them. Then everyone again. I'd see them and I go. Look look there's the royals but I didn't really follow them. Then and then they had Diana. She died while I was over there so there was stuff going on but I can never tell one from another. I can never remember which was now I now I know which one is Andrew. Andrew is. He's the one who chases the girls but my my sister my beloved sister who is Caitlin Flanagan over at the Atlantic She loves this stuff and she's always talking about them and she's deep thoughts about and I can never remember who but I but I do but I do want to bring this up because it actually feeds into something else. I've been talking about a lot this week. So the this is the the American one Meghan markle right now. She's like the Duchess of Sussex. That's at least fun to say the Duchess of Sussex and she has been Obviously under the gun. She's not getting along with the other guy who's got. Kate Middleton right for its William way like she's married to Prince. William Kate Middleton is married to Prince William is so prince. Harry thank you very much so and it hasn't been going well. Obviously Meghan markle was an actress She's got a big ego she suddenly into into this system which doesn't care about her ego she's just supposed to show up and smile smile and wave. That's what they're there for and recently she was in Africa and she started to have a little bit of a breakdown on TV. They're interviewing him. You know the royals the job. The the job of the royals is to go along. Wave at people Promote a couple of good causes do the charitable stuff they do. They're they're useful and they're attractive and they embody theoretically radically the spirit of England and the English the British love them the British. The British intellectuals are constantly complaining about them but nobody really wants to get rid of them every now and again they talk about getting rid of them but nobody really wants to representing the great for tourism You know everybody loves Buckingham Palace. Everybody loves US Queen. She's been a great queen so so she's in in Africa and she gives an interview and basically says you know. She's having a lot of trouble. The the rumors are that she fights with Kate right to the she fights with the other one in. Kate is very popular popular. And so she gives this interview where she stretched a crack crack up. Look any woman when they're especially when they're pregnant you're really vulnerable.

"Is the Andrew Klavan show shafted Tape Thompson. He's so wonderful Who Ah we are coming to the end a wild week? It's just been amazing. We've been watching the left vast communications machinery the news networks the New York Times the entertainment media and so on rewriting reality pretty right in front of us in real time. Trump gives the terrorist Iranians. The smack upside the head they so richly deserve the Iranians make a face saving gesture and stand down and the media tries to tell us that the wise terrorists helped crazy evil trump. Avoid war as if but this is now standard operating procedure. Nothing is more controversial to the left than the truth. Nothing will get you in more trouble with the left and speaking obvious truths like men and women are different or Islam has has a problem with violence or climate change is not an existential crisis or whatever little slice of reality interferes with the leftist fantasy. They happen to be selling at the moment. The hysteria area and foul mouth rage. That follows any statement of plain but unsanctioned truth the danger to your college grades or your professional standing or your social the media presence or even your livelihood make a lot of people feel. It's just not worth speaking aloud. What they know to be the case? That's what the attacks are meant to do. They're meant to intimidate you. Because once the simple truth is made unspeakable then the truth becomes whatever the powers that be wanted to be which is whatever gives them more power or at Leeds keeps them from. I'm being exposed as the largely incompetent schmucks knuckleheads and cowards. That they are. This is what has happened in Europe. Now where you can get a visit from the police for saying that transgender transgender women are not women which by the way spoiler alert. They're not there in Europe. The police would rather let the local girls get raped on mass by Muslim grooming gangs things seem to be bigoted by exposing the crime. The dangerous speaking plain truth is nothing new. Obviously if I could reduce the new testament to a one-sentence Morel we'll speak the truth. And the powers that be will crucify you but of course there are other messages in the New Testament as well like the truth never dies and the truth is the stuff of God. In fact God is truth and the truth is the way and the life in fact the truth is always worth whatever trouble it causes you to speak speak at why because systems fail when they don't align with reality especially the reality of human nature. That's why socialist systems fail. They expect people to Excel without incentive and they expect governments to monopolize power without becoming. Tyrannical cannot happen. People do not work that way. You gotTa say these stuff out loud and keep saying it so so everyone knows otherwise you wake up. And you're in Venezuela. The capitalist system succeeds because it takes people as they are in tells the truth about them. It knows that people are greedy ambitious competitive eager to improve their own lot in life in fact capitalism is barely a system at all. It's just people being people with a few cops who patrol the beat to keep anyone from cheating too much much or using violence or intimidation for game and what about democracy democratic systems. The question of whether Democratic Systems can survive whether democracy is in keeping with human nature is an open question. Democracy never has survived for very long and the reasons are pretty obvious. The enlightenment philosopher Montesquieu pointed out that democracy requires virtue all the founders said this too but his political philosopher. Patrick J Deneen recently noted virtue has to be cultivated by virtue forming institutions like schools and churches. Plato Talks about this scenario subtle as well. And these virtue forming institutions are exactly the institutions that are called oppressive by people who value their own personal liberty above the liberty of all if everyone becomes so dedicated to their own perfect freedom if no one wants to be slut shamed or fat shamed ashamed for any behavior or disabused of any false notion about themselves no one will develop the self awareness and honesty and sense of civic responsibility required to maintain the democratic systems that ensure what freedom we have. It's kind of a paradox. Freedom requires self restraint and self restraint is kind of unfreedom and only if we know ourselves. Can we ever square that circle. If no one is honest about how men women and how women behave with men for example if no one uses that knowledge to comport themselves with honor and with modesty than women the weaker sex will pay the price Jason Abuse. As we've recently seen if no one is honest about how the powerful act. When they have power than the deep state unconstitutional judges and unrestrained bureaucracies bureaucracies will overrun override our democratic institutions under the guise of enforcing some moral? Good or any other guys they can go into believing and if no one is is honest about the fact that some behaviors are better than others than the bad behaviors will rise because they're more fun and they require less effort of self governance. And then the virtue who required to maintain democracy will vanish at the end of my novel empire of lies which by the way is a great novel. You should all read it. But at the end of empire of lies one of the characters goes on TV and says he agrees with the Islamic terrorists about one thing he agrees that the west and radical Islam or a holy war. We're an award to decide. Decide which vision of God will win out now that the atheist empire of the Soviet Union has collapsed of course the character is never invited to come on TV again because TV is run owned by the left and nothing is more controversial to the left than the truth but what he said is the truth. This fight were in with Iran and other bad actors in the Middle East. It's all about God. What is God like? What does he require of us? Our whole American system is designed for people who other know the answers to those questions or at least are willing to seek them honestly the radical Islamist. They know their answers already. And if we can ask the big questions here and seek answers to them openly and honestly and fearlessly democracy can't survive and neither can the west. It's the truth that sets US free and keeps US free. We're GONNA talk more about this incredible effort.

"Martin Sherpa writes a compelling piece. Why avoiding the news makes makes you smarter and it's on on the website high existence well? That's good. Let's get smarter and he actually said that some time ago he stopped reading and watching the news because sometimes when watching or reading the news he felt himself anticipating another big invent while yeah had to has to get bigger has to get bigger and you know you think about that when you're reading a story and you get into it and you go oh this is not going to go well. I know it's not and it's not even informing. It's almost well. It's gossip. It's you know you're interested in the lives of somebody that will never affect you and then you want more and more see we start living a life. That isn't your own. Yes and that's again. That's such a shadowy influencer that comes in and takes you away from things that might be truly much more important for your life and I think that's the discerning point. How is it impacting you and is absorbing your thinking and your feelings and your reactions in life to the point where you're not really truly being yourself to live out with those around you. Oh that is such a good barometer barometer to have and he said he started asking himself a question when he looked at any story. What relevance does this information bear. Excuse me to my day eight today functioning and if it doesn't help it's hindering that's to your point exactly. Can you look at these stories and weigh them as to how they're going to help you function. Can you disengage from it. Can you listen to the information have an initial response and then go okay. I need to move on into my day or are you taking that with you and it kind of his term. Oral kind of tumultuous inside were just tumbles inside inside your head inside of your heart all day long. If that's happening then that has to strong influence over you. I wonder and I had never thought about this prior. Toss deciding to bring this up a topic whether I would make a decision to ingest news at certain times of the day and only then so so that I could take charge again and that's a very different way to look at it. Many of us don't ever want to completely detached for a variety of reasons and you don't have to. We're not telling anybody to detach and some people will say I'm going to let it go for X. Amount of time that's great too but how do you decide when to re engage and how to reengage exactly actly again. I think it's really lane out very clearly. What is my day. What is important to me. The news media is meant to Hook you you to keep you there from morning till night if they could and sometimes that can happen especially in a crisis situation. We think there's going to be more information and more information but the reality is. There's always a summary every few hours a total summary and if there's a report that report is shown. It's like we really don't miss out but I think the hook is. We might miss out and we don't want to be without in fact. That's what's happened on. Social media for so much part of our response to everything is that we know as much as the other person to sad part. Is We know as much as we've been told by this right and then we're just espousing during that so if there's a diet that I could take a rather than food it is one of wanting to curb my media ingestation and and taking it maybe been small snippets. Maybe it is after I'm finally showered and clean before I start my full day so I get a little bit in the morning so I know what's happened and especially when it comes to a community or if you're traveling to a region and their things you need to know by all means stay informed but then to take diet of it for most of the day and then to revisit at a certain time but not right before I go to bed. Yes exactly found that that is just too difficult to work. I made a rule along time ago that the last thing I watch is something that has comedy in it. I insisted upon whether it's an old fifties or sixties or seventies show that I'll find on TV I need to laugh. I need to have something that shifts the day I do not need to have a news report the last thing that I take take to bed with me so we encourage you as you look at the impact of news media to do a deep dive in a sense and say we're does it hit me. Do I just move through and it doesn't bother me then you're great. Keep going do whatever you need to do for those of you who like us get our psyche wounded by some of these stories raise at least assess what it is and how much you're taking in every day and maybe think about this really great quote from. Gwendolyn Brooks who writes one unreason that cats are happier than people is that they have no newspapers that's excellent. I think that's a really good one. That's excellent. You know we're we're all about exploring and we hope we haven't encouraged you to do one thing or another today but to leave your mind open to how is the news media impacting getting you and if there is something you would like to avoid or participate in if you've been on the sidelines. It's really up to you be in charge. Be in charge often the amount of information we consume on a daily basis as over the top what would happen if we pause to consider what it's doing to our minds..

"Oh boy at this is a biggie because it's heavy on a lot of people right now and you hear a lot about it on social media or in conversations and and it's taken a toll on people it really is and we want to let you know that this podcast isn't about what to read or what to listen to or what to watch. It's really about how media has transitioned to have such enormous power and how we respond to it so news media. How does it impact you while it's so emotional and that's meant to I mean everything that they put up or we hear on the radio or we see on ATV is to hook you into what you feel emotionally and then you can't let go and you want to know the next piece and that next piece of Information Mation. I think there's more hooks I've ever seen in news media. You and I were chatting with the fact that a breaking news used to be breaking news for a one one time big deal and everybody you would immediately turn it on but it's breaking news every five minutes now which is a hook. It's an old hook and we have to be more discerning and figure out more. About what do we really need to hear. And how do we really adapt and live our lives around around the news media instead of the news media becoming our central focus. Oh my goodness that is such perfect way we could end right now but then you would need need fifteen more minutes and listened to on your walk so we won't that is brilliant because that's really the key. What is the focus of our lives. You know I grew up telling stories and I had no idea that getting getting this gift from my mother of telling stories would translate into a career in journalism but I love doing it. I love telling stories not making them up but telling stories because I was good at putting a beginning beginning a middle and an end to live journalism and so whether I was reporting or anchoring I felt like that's what I was bringing to you the story of the day what was going on not telling you how to think about got it just letting you know what was happening and in the last few years since. I've been out of daily broadcasting. It's been interesting to see the shift that's happened and the slant that's taken part on all spectrums of the news and I think that for me has been the most disheartening because I look back on my career with amazing fondness. I I got to see so much. I learned so much and people are my passion to this day and it's a result of being news but the battle lines it seems like have I've been really set very strongly in news media and I don't feel that a story gets to stand on its own anymore. Unfortunately it has to be painted in one way or the other and so that's kind of what's brought us to what we want to focus on today when we have episode eighty nine transition the impact of news news media because faith. It's a little jarring but if you google why I stopped watching the news. You're going to be floor 'cause for me. There's a point I have to return just because of my background. I'm a news junkie. I'll be honest but I'm a different kind of news junkie today than I was ten years ago and it's because of what you said before where it just slammed into my life and I couldn't get away from it so now I have to find more ways to have my boundaries on what news I will allow into my you're in charge. Yes makes a difference. Yes it's like and it's you have to come to that decision. Who's going to be in charge of what I put into my mind and and what I put into my subconscious that I'm going to be thinking on reflecting on all day so in addition to what faith and I think which of course is really important. We're going to share with with you with some people have done as they have hit the wall when it comes to the news media just like many of us have and we all hit it in different places says by the way and if you're on vacation of course you're going to take a break from it. But what are you going to do in regular life because right now it's changed when faith and I do these podcasts. We've put our phones out of sight out of mind in another room because of the alerts that come through that let us know what's happening. We almost can't escape it anymore. If you have a smartphone own unless you physically go in and turn off those alerts so there's a really fun article in medium by Nick Macaroni. It's from last year and it's entitled Old. This is what happens when you stop watching the news now. He has his great story because he talked about how he would devour the news and he was proud of himself. By the way you know he'd get up the the first thing he did. He would check the updates and it was the last thing he did before he went to bed but he does right and faith. You'll appreciate this. He said it took me years to appreciate what the impact is. Deluge of negative information was having on my signing it does because those are the influencers we have to begin mm to discern and sift our life a little bit like who influences my life. What are the voices that are being spoken and into my life so there's a difference between gathering information that is in the news and letting it influence you and how you you see or react in life. Afterwards Macaroni was pointing out that it made him so much more fearful it made him fearful about his community about his State eight about the world the country in which we live and it made him fearful for his kids so he was watching things and became hyper vigilant for things that didn't have have to be because he had heard something or listen to something or watch something so he took a detox. He did a news detox for an entire year and he says the difference I is now. I put my energy toward issues that I can influence which I've discovered starts with a quality of my presence in the world that is so good is that it's so so good so he's come back but he had to step back right while exactly and so he's more in charge and he's making the decision about who he is and how he wants to live his life and how he wants to be an influence or rather than being influenced yes and this kind of dovetails when we talked about self awareness a few weeks ago if we are on autopilot and we just let all of these things come into our lives versus us saying hold on. I have these boundaries or barriers. We're we're going to get stuck in a very very weird place. that's so true another example that you can find on Youtube look for a man named Nathen Nathaniel drew through he's got a video. It's six minutes long and it says here's why I stopped watching the news and his is really fascinating is a younger it man and it's interesting where he got to this position and he was starting to question who is making the editorial decisions for the stories that he would read if he'd been in a country community and he knew what was going on he would then watch the news and say well. That's not what happened today. When I was in this very large city and he was wondering who was letting him know what what was going on versus what he had observed so he took a diet as well and he removed all access to news on his phone his computer and his television television and he said that freed up a lot of energy about getting his life together that's really interesting and so he really had to take that strong negative live influence her out because he saw different truth in a reality and it wasn't fitting with the reality that he was being told. Yes wow and I think when you watch this. You'll you'll sit there because he's not slamming one side. I it's just it's like Oh. That's right you know I was just in a community and they're telling me a scary story about something that happened at the lake that I was visiting and I was there for three days and never saw one instance of that I would say well wait a second. I was there and no one talked about this. No one saw but but there's been one incident and they blew it up and they scare people away from coming to a certain area no now having been in the news media might my goal was always to inform but we do know oh that sensationalism plays its part in a lot of newscasts. It bleeds it leads. I mean that's been a horrible joke that people have said for years but sadly that that is becoming more and more true and I wish we could shift that because there's a heart of our soul that is missing because there's so much more goodness that is what's going on as well and so if you inundated with just the negatives or the scary or the threats then we start living from that place and you know in total fairness. I think a lot of local news outlets have really worked to counter this and so some of the cable networks that are just on the wall to wall coverage coverage for whatever is happening that day versus a big news story. I do feel that local news is trying in so many ways to say we want to cover. What's really important to this community community and yet? I think the idea of US making that choice of when we want to see this and are having the control that you mentioned before faith. It's right is really important..

"If you use to ks in a search kevin close director of npr was also director longtime director of ci propaganda broadcasts this is what we have to be concerned about because we're being led into war by powerful sinister agencies of the cia that are are the mouthpiece for for what we're learning about the world leading us a little bit further a further afield but if you're if you're doing a story on advances in let's say consumer computing technology or something on astro physics you're not using a political filter are you i mean part of this i understand the point you're trying to make that we have to think about more than just gender or racial identity or ethnic identity or anything like that but just plainly put a world where all the authority gets to be exerted in explaining the world by men that's is that a world you want no i'm talking about foreign policy the demonization of all the countries that are on the hit list of the in the pentagon and all of these pentagon types of socalled experts that are brought on everything from cnn fox to msnbc npr and just hearing just just hearing this latest news broadcasting that good offi horribly tortured by a terrorist funded by the cia was killed by his own people i think that is an gross example of the kinds of lies were being told that are leading us into wars against korea libya north korea russia and china i that we're hearing only from people like as you mentioned the brookings institute which is highly funded by the cia in the pentagon and fortune one hundred companies that and military industrial companies that have a vested interest in skewing the.

"The fact that that has been now potentially corrupt it and people whether staffers are congressman in there may be leaking information and may be soccer's for an intel operation is an enormous enormous story and a story of of national importance these people should be sanctioned and if they committed a crime they should be arrested and they should be prosecuted and i mean that this should be the end of their careers i i say this and you may say well how does this relate to the title of the show is the fake news media being played because there's something very very critical another in this is the final missing piece so first we have the ten thousand text uncovered debts clearly part of some investigation joe no one releases ten thousand texas randomly let me just released by text filed of the public something's going on there we know there's an ig investigation we know that's what happened there point number two sessions and coach already announced they were going to try to uncover leakers within the government point number three which i think is escaping a lot of folks his the fact that when cnn how to react to retract this story joe about the wikki leaks you know he hell trump about the encrypted data by the way that was already on the internet gray so they were trump was spam basically when i dunno if you noticed is but when cnn retracted the story people started to ask well are these reporters at work who were reported this story going to be punished and cnn's response is very very telling.
