"Through to the playoff final sale take on LA I see that game on Sunday, meanwhile, late on Sunday, the other Conference Finals see Philadelphia union take on NYCFC, the union have been sensationally in the east so far this season. They are favorites to advance NYC at 13 to 8. You going for your old team rally? Absolutely, I'm going for the Philadelphia union, but not because they're my old team. It's much more about the fact that the Philadelphia union over the last few seasons have been consistently good. And then they get to the playoffs in a position which perhaps they are the favorites, and they haven't been able to deal with that sort of pressure. And that's sort of environment. I think there's enough maturity within this group with Jim curtain as a coach that now they understand that they deserve to be here. That they've earned this plot to be the favorites. And then indeed, at home, they should be beating NYCFC. Now, don't discount NYCFC, defending champions. They have enough talent in the attack. There were questions as to what was going to happen when I didn't think castellano went to girona. What happened with running dial and leaving the team? And they're here. So there is enough time for this for this team to create problems. They have flexibility in the attack. They can do things with aware data down the right hand side with Santiago Rodriguez underneath Maximo Dallas as well. Ava can score a couple more goals. Very good. And yet they're not going to be able to be the Philadelphia union. I think this is a moment that Philadelphia union have been building up to. And I think there's a moment in which theory deliver a first class performance and they make their way into a Moscow. Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, I think you could have predicted at AFC to go all the way to the final at the start of the season. I don't think many would have Austin being there opponents. The bookies don't believe in the fairytale that is Austin FC LAFC impulse with home advantage as well. Big, big favorites firstly trying loci. And this should

"Were they playing Birmingham in the championship? When the referee noticed that the posts were too, oh, is it two inches? Two inches too high. So they had to cut them down. I'm surprised. It was a referee's really paid that much attention. To this. You must do. That is a goalkeeper. Right? Well, no, it's the referee, apparently, during his premium. What I'm seeing is I'll bet anything the goalkeeper pointed it out to the referee. I'm gonna get the referee that much. Kudos. Wow. Did you pay much attention to the height of the post smart? No, I did, actually. I can check here because when we used to walk around, we used to check the margins of the pitch, because you know what? For example, some markings used to be wrong. And we used to check the height of the goalposts used to stand up. And if you could roughly touch it, you knew it was within a certain criteria. So clearly the referee's checked it is check one area of the one goal realized and within some margins, check the other and is realized I couldn't go anywhere near touching it. So I can understand why the referees raise this and it's happened once or twice recently. I think in a woman's Champions League again, that the gauls were actually incorrect. So it is happening, but you wouldn't ever see it at this level and I'm quite surprised that we're talking about championship in English football that we're actually seeing this. Yes, I can understand it. Where was it Don Harley pooling darling? But I never wondered that. What was sound your arm? It looks like a tattoo Mark. What's that tattoo? This one. What is it? There's no violence in that challenge when I see one. That's late. That's late. I don't care where you're saying I can't play or not. You don't get to make that decision. It's not it's not violent. I'll show you violent guns. I promise. Yeah, it's fine. It's okay. Tell me, what's my name? I'm not sure anybody wants to play in a Hartley pool. I think you should take that as a compliment. But I think it's a yellow. I'll go yellow plus, but not quite a red. I don't see that as being red. Last point, another place you don't want to play really is whole. Let's go back to last weekend, shall we? They were taking on and where were they playing Birmingham in the championship? When the referee noticed that the posts were too, oh, is it two inches? "On the ball. They're still grabbing. This is still bear hugging. It's a foul. And we're punching a real distance because of the way he throws himself on the ground. This is nonsense. He's on the wrong side of the player. He grabs the player from behind and now we're judging the quality of the dive like a real Jesus. And this is how we determine whether it's a file or not. Nonsense. Done? I think it's a file done. I think it's a referee's nightmare and a vase nightmare when they're looking at that and they see us all the defender actually touched the ball, which must throw the VAR team off. And then they've obviously seen the two hands around the waist, which then I think it's then a foul. I think if I'm leaning towards a decision there, I think I would give a penalty. Chang? I have to admit, when I first saw this, I was right on the fence, whatever the refere. I would agree with on denting the VA, I would overturn. But the more I see it, the more it looks like a penalty. And the reason being, while the defender does get a good touch on the ball, I don't think it takes that would be part of the Jesus. He gets a touch, but for the hold, I think I will see you still get something loose ball. He goes over and agree with mob a little bit dramatically, but I think there's enough contact to stop him from getting to that loose ball. So as a result, penalty should have been given for me. How come everyone thinks you're wrong, Mark? No, I can understand. Listen, we can as referees were always late. We always make our argument against what players want. I can understand what the players are seeing. When the arms go around, what the referee is looked at is he's got to touch on the ball. Is the action of that world enough for Jesus probably Jesus stands on his two feet, which is what the players are arguing, but you should go down initially, but then the actions of Jesus thrown himself down probably makes the referee go look. That doesn't look afoul from that hall and therefore would play on so I think this should stay on the field and therefore once a referee players on that they are never but the referee gives the penalty I would expect the VR to support it. I think everyone can agree on the next one. Chelsea Manchester United, mctominay. Mark clattenburg. Agree on it. This is what I get really frustrated as a referee because when I used to referee I used to sit at players look. If you're going to watch the player, you're going to run the risk. Why are you not watching the corner, watching the ball getting delivered, but Tom and clearly is watching these player is clearly all the display with two arms and therefore as the ball comes in towards them too clear it makes it more obvious that the ball is going to drop in this area and therefore it's clear for me a foul and therefore this should be a clear straightforward penalty. But is the contact on broker enough for him to go down? No, he goes down because he feels the contact he sells it and he gets the penalty, which Gabriel Jesus was doing. Surely what we were just discussing. Yeah, but this one for me is two players in a jewel fighting for the ball when we look at Jesus. Clearly for blocking his attack from making a run at the corner and it's not even watching the ball. He's not even fighting for the ball. He's defending his man. He puts his two arms around him. He knows that this player, the attacker is going to try and hit the ball, and in fact, it's not like where the corners are going to go to the far side of the penalty area and therefore these two players are irrelevant. Actually heads the ball from the corner. So therefore, you stops the attack at getting to the ball for me, it's a penalty. Okay, let's move on to a game that finished on Monday in the Premier League West Ham without two new victory over Bournemouth, controversy over the first goal that we score. This was just on the stroke of halftime zoomer opening the scoring, wasn't it? David Moyes's side with a much needed three points. So let's take you through that incident, shall we? Is this a handball and should have been chalked off Mark? See, last year, and then previous years, this would have been deemed as a handball under the laws of the game. Once you deem that this action from this handball is accidental, therefore you have to play on and then his teammate scores both. So under the laws of the game, because the accident or handball doesn't lead immediately to the goal, it leads from his teammates, we're now have to give the call. But if this player had scored from his accidental handball, would have disallowed so. You have to deal with the arm. Sorry, is the handball accidental? Yes it is. Does it lead immediately to a goal? No, it doesn't. It leads from another player and therefore under the laws of the game. It has to be given. Shaka. I thought this was a Hamburg. I'm not sure. While I understand the markets is seeing about accidental and the change in the law, that ball travels 40 yards. Touches no one. There's no one around Kara and it hits him in the air. If that, if that were a defender, that's a penalty a 100% of the time. So while again trying to not try to abuse my West Ham bios, that travels a long way, there's nobody really that close to him, hits him smack in the arm, it's a handball, regardless of what happened after that. It's a handball. Dawn? Yeah, I think if you're Gary O'Neil and if you're born with and you see that, I mean, no one's got a clue really on the handball launch. It seems to change every single day. No, I know, but it's great. But yeah, this gray area is because Mark in what he's saying with the laws of the game is correct in what he's saying. That's the law. If T low carer, handballs it and finishes it himself under the laws, that would be illegal. The fact that it's went on a couple of phases, it seems legal, but in the spirit of the game, when they've literally just scored off a ball coming off teal carers arm, if you're in the Bournemouth camp, you're livid because you go in, what's going on? Is there any clarity on this lord? Does it change from week to time? Because just clarify. Because it's because it's accidental because it's accidental, Don. Then therefore, you can't strike it off.

"One of the first guys that he has signed when he took over was we brought in Chris Wood, different profile of some forward. Just to keep you up. But then in the summer you go and you bring in you bring an E sac. If I'm calling most at that stage, I'm thinking, all right. This guy doesn't really trust me, right? Because you've bet the house on this guy who's younger than me. Chris Wood is still hanging around. You know, when he came in, he signed Chris Wood. He's only saying, oh, Callum will keep us up, right? Yeah, yeah. And yet, he responds with a tremendous performance like this. So is that one of the challenges sometimes you use competition for motivation rather than saying, screw this. Oh, well, if you're a player guy, you have to. I remember Walt Smith pull him in the office at Evan. And he got me and he went, just to let you know, you can leave and I went, why? And he went, I've signed John Collins of signed Olivier decor who and you're not going to play. And I looked at him and I went, I'm better than him, too. When he went, well, and I went, I'm betting John Collins, I'm betting Olivier decor, and I walked out the room not knowing that day because I backed myself. I couldn't quite easily win. Okay, gaffer. I'll go. I didn't mistake her back myself. And Archie Knox is number two, told me months and months later, he loved that response. And it took me about two or three, four weeks to get back in the side. He ended up playing a three and played all three of us. You've got a Bucky self as a play. You can't just quit. But I think a lot of players also say like the club are heavily invested in them. And this gets me to Eddie Howe and transfers, because I think when he was at Bournemouth, if you go back and you actually look at the and obviously they got so much praise because he kept the same back far from me too when he stayed with top flight forever. When he did throw a lot of money at a player, I'm thinking of when he signed Jermaine defoe to that insane contract to keep him up. It took so long to Liverpool. Jordan and I Jordan and I, I think, was one of the big screw ups. Salon key, I'm more of a calculated risk, but of course, one that I guess it's kind of working out now years later. I wonder if this is something of the club saying, you know what? Do we trust anyhow? It's not what the money I hate when they say that because obviously there's a director football there was really knows what he's doing. But the club's attitude is more like, let's not create a problem for Eddie Howe, by bringing in somebody super high profile who we really should build a team around because he's going to make us better. That's going to take a process. That's the fascination in the January window of Newcastle or sitting in fourth or 5th. What type of player they go for? I think they're going to be super disciplined. And I think they're only going to go for guys, they're still going to go for the small steps because and I've said this before. I think they're actually trying to run a business there. They don't want to emulate what man city what python is your man did early on saying, let's go all guns blazing. And always the subject that blows my mind is financial fair play. Blows my mind. Wow. Why does not understand it? Because Newcastle Newcastle are saying we've got to respect and live by the laws of financial fair play, but Chelsea could spend a quarter of a billion in the summer window. I don't know. It's funny. I don't understand it. It's fun and we are doing what bachelor are doing. It's like a financial what? Financial fair play? It's really funny with because some tall former Premier League midfielders seem to have an interest in financial fair play. Others like Craig Burley get angry when you bring it up. I hate it. Because no one understands it. Okay, so well, I'll have a long explainer coming up soon. But the long and short of it is, as far as the no, when I say I don't understand it, I understand it. I don't understand how people get around it. That's what I mean. Wait, well, basically we haven't had it for the last couple of years because of COVID. In Newcastle's case, as far as European financial fair play doesn't apply because they're not, they're not in Europe. So they're going to look at it differently when they do qualify for Europe if they qualify for Europe. Barcelona's whole thing is predicated by someone who sold off big chunks of their club, right? So they have big amounts of revenue coming in. That's how they're able to do it this year anyway. The other one you mentioned, Chelsea, Chelsea, quarter of a billion in the summer. Just a quarter of a bill? No, and this went a lot before. Chelsea, I'm not sure what they're planning. On the surface, unless there's something we don't know, they could have an issue. I also remember that this season is the last season under the old financial fair play system. We'll be getting a new one in. A word on Tottenham because we did this deep dive in Newcastle because I felt they deserved it. You're concerned that Kant is being too defensive. A little bit. Yeah, it reminds me a little bit of Jose a Tottenham. The players will go along with defensive football when you win in games. The problem is when you stop winning games to the players, then you're not buying this fact that it wasn't defensive football. It only became that once they want to go down. No, no, I do think it's defensive football because I think they've done it against arsenal in the North London Derby, they've done it against Chelsea. I can understand. Could ya? Arsenal. They had to be beaten as Darby? They sit back for 20 minutes and allow them to get on the front foot and allow them to attack you, then you struggle, turn it against Chelsea, but lucky scored in the last minute, done it against man united. I wonder if this is a game where they could use another passer in there because it seems to me that once Newcastle go to nil up, obviously Newcastle are going to play on the counter to some degree, right? Which is the logical thing to do. And then when you have to unlock things, yeah, we know Harry Kane can do that. And in fact, he did do that. And you've got set pieces. Other than that,

"Stevie touched on it the other day is it's something that Klopp puts up with for the time being. But it's something Gareth Southgate was taken into the other side of the coin. I think on the face of it, so that's why he uses other people. Shaka, when a goalkeeper makes an era like mendy did, how does he respond to a similar situation next time? Would they try to avoid it completely and would that have impact on their game overall? Just whenever you make a mistake whenever you find yourself a bad form, just go back to the very basics and do those simply do those well and build your confidence back into the game. Next time a ball gets ruled back to Mindy if he's under pressure, just launch it in the stand, start shouting a defender as goalkeepers get out and get out of jail free card. Just start showing a defenders and carry on. And slowly but surely confidence comes back and you can start parsing the ball back out to the defense again. For robbo, I rate Pedro Neto very highly. I think arsenal would title contenders if we sign him tillemans. What a front four we would have young and hungry. What do you think? Yeah, he's a very good player. I'm not sure you'd get sicker outside to put Neto in at the moment. I'm not sure you'd get Martinelli at the side for oda guard out the side and Jesus playing brilliantly. So he might have to fight for his place if he does come to arsenal, tielemans, I think would be an excellent sign in for arsenal. The one area yes Shaq has done okay and he seems to be a much reformed character at the moment and party that's doing well, but I think teams would be an excellent sign in. And are they title contenders? Well, they've certainly been the best side in the first three games even better than man city who didn't play who allowed Newcastle to score three goals against them at the weekend. So arsenal had been excellent so far. Wow. Oh, go Stevie. Hey, Robert might be allowed back at the Emirates for this sort of attitude. Now let me speak in the truth then. Only speaking of the trial it's nice. It's a big ocean. For all, how does the dynamic of the dressing room change when you have a star player making it clear they want to transfer out at the moment obviously for fana and Ronaldo at our examples of that.

"The lineup is set then for the group stage draw of the Champions League that will take place on Thursday after the remaining 6 playoff ties were played to completion, which included rangers, beating PSV by one goal to nil in Holland, Jules had a bit of a surprise there as they book a place in the next round. Yeah, incredible achievement really from rangers 12 years that they've been waiting for very often, stumbling on this on this hurdle on this obstacle of qualifying for the group stage, and they finally have done it. Against the odds, of course, because I think PSV certainly on paper where the better sides and for most of the first leg are eyebrows are, they were really good too rangers. And then in this game it was quite a close close game, close affair, then look the young. Remember the bad day on from Barcelona. I'm not going to go there again, I promise. But got injured substitution a half time, all of that you missed a few chances in the first half, and then rangers just got a bit lucky, of course, on their goal, but took that well defended really well for hardware really solid and in the end they finally got there and when you saw this celebration at the end with the fans who traveled there with of course you have any von bunker and his staff and then all the players you saw how much he meant to them is a very historical and magic night for rangers and rangers funds. Well, of course, we're against the odds last year getting all the way to the Europa League final. The team was played in Clinton Borussia Dortmund. Everybody thought raised elbow grade. There was others who thought that it's finished. And again, they were not favorites to go through over the two legs, but it's a fast time, I believe, in 15 years, that's both there. Delta can rangers are both. So it's a big shot in the arm for Scottish football. And for Giovanni van Brock, who has gone in up against it with Celtic in terms of the league this year, but beg for Scottish fit will beg for a van Brock Austin and again, rangers of European finest last year in the Champions League, huge for them. So the draw takes place on Thursday, and as is tradition, of course, we take a look at the possible, the best group that we would like to see. Speculation. Here we go then. Let's take a look

"Anything more than a bet by player at this football club with these players around. We can ask Angelo 24/7. Our course is going to PayPal at the same sort of stuff. Because at some point, hey what? It might need them, not that I think you'll do a great job from, but it might need them to keep briefing up the squad. But I think there is so much water has gone under the bridge with us at that club. I mean, even talking about a mess and penalties and taking penalties now and all this, I just don't understand it. For me, it is nothing more than a squad player at Real Madrid. And it will never be anything else and that's partly down to him. Robert? Well, we've just been talking about Vinicius junior has our going to come in on the left hand side and take the place of Vinicius junior. Is he going to play as the number ten as Modric does when he comes off the right hand side of that midfield three and gets him behind Benzema? Is he going to play as the center forward in place of Benzema, not really? Does he get the team up the pitch as Valverde has been doing in recent times or Rodrigo did to a certain extent last season? I think it's going to be a real struggle for this season as it was last season and the season before. I hope he becomes a top class player again. I don't think he will. Be interesting to see how Roberto Martinez sees him at the World Cup, whether it's because he's been a player. What'd you do? He's been a tallest man along with Kevin De Bruyne and I learned quite a few others, but I don't know. I mean, you'd never thought about a Belgian team really without and start line up. No. And that so called golden generation that we're going to go on and do great things, not happen yet, and they're all getting older and things are changing, but I don't know. I mean, if you're sitting on the bench and getting ten minutes here in ten minutes there, I don't really see how he can play or start for Belgium. And the real big game might start against one or two of the cannon fodder in the group stages. Maybe to get him some game time, but I don't know rob or can he play can Belgium be have a successful World Cup with a player on the team? Well, if he was fully fit and the outstanding party was two or three years ago, that'd be one of the favorites for the World Cup, but he's not that player anymore. He did start a couple of Nations League games that I commentated on in the summer and he did okay. Play better for them than he really does fight for Real Madrid very often. But there was one there were signs that he was getting somewhere near his form, but I can't see him really having an effect at the World Cup at the moment unless he comes into form and gets his fitness back. He's only 31, isn't he? It's crazy. Just a reminder, then a great Sunday for you in la Ligue. As always, every single game will be live on ESPN. What game are you doing, rob own

He was a good footballer and a player that made the right runs at the right time as a midfield player to get into the box and he was fairly good in the air and he finished some goals brilliantly. But technically, I don't think he was an outstanding player. And I think he's lost that little bit of fitness. He's lost confidence, and now doesn't make those forward runs with the same sort of energy and verve. And that's why he's not a great player anymore, or not a very good player anymore. And I think he'll struggle whatever league he plays in. So it's understand and the fire sets of your game because it has game as rob was said. And I'm the same. I thought it was very, very good at it. Timing runs from a midfielder is something, for some it comes natural, but you work on it as a skill about getting entertainment around when strikers make moves or whatever it is and just taking sent a half away. And finishing, I hate to see the way that guy's career's gone. But look, I don't know, maybe it's injuries, maybe it's all full stuff. Maybe it's desire and training and all the things that we don't see and don't know about. But when you're the goal scored in midfielder and that just dries up and managers think that it's dried up and believe that it's dried up and don't trust you anymore. That's a problem. And I don't understand why he's got away from this guy who then always have to be on the ball and play him passes because that wasn't his strongest part of his game, but making those drive and runs into the box. A lot of teams don't have those players anymore. And the rougher way and gold if you can deliver a threat from the middle of the park for all those fancy dance stuff that teams try and play, getting on the end of it and scoring your court of goals. It's a shame. And maybe they played themselves. It's got an answer to why he's now on his way to turkey and not in the Premier League. Thanks to his wife. Well, given what governor, I thought no, I can only presume it's the players and the desire to not be able to not do it. He once did. And a real lack of confidence. When you've been a young player and you've been praised and praised them praise and you don't get criticized until you're about 23, 24, and I know absolutely fully well, then you get suddenly not somebody criticizes you. You're not sure how to handle it. And suddenly you think your whole career is going away from you. And I think that could well be the case with dele Alli. How did you handle it, Robert? Anger. Not very well to start with some up to 23. I've never been criticized. Never ever been criticized and been held up as the example to all the other players. George Graham came in and after I had a round with him, he and I was injured. I then went to West Ham. And from that moment on, I was always, I never had the same sort of confidence. Rob Owen rouse seems to follow. He should more rose in me. I know. I know. You've never punched a manager, either. Never. There you go. Just a reminder then to keep up to date with all the latest transfer news between now when the window closes next week. I assume it's August 31st and

"A lot of it is transfer dealings given how good Newcastle have been this calendar year. I think it takes a lot of boxes, deciding of exact text boxes. We've not quite sure for how long just yet so there's an immediate need. He's I can also flee off the right hand side. Well, listen, it's probably no, it's a tough time to question I'm Iran, given his performance against city, but you do want cover. You do want competition on that right hand side to provide balance as a maximum on the left. And then he plays it up from two with societies. So maybe that's an option that he also provides to anyhow when Callum Wilson has fit. So I think it takes a number of boxes for Eddie Howard and Newcastle. So while you can question the price, I don't question the signing. That's where we are these days, isn't it? 60 million plus the tech boxes. That's it. I mean, because it's not guaranteed when everybody's going to start. It's not that much of a standout. But that's, as you said, that's where we are. It's like squad players were a patent. I'm not suggesting he's going to be, but there's a potentially it could be 67 million to be able to take a box and beat your score down a little bit. That's kind of that's the vulnerable level. So of course, looking to add to the new car sort of attack, which includes the maximum who is excellent in near three three draw. Against a Manchester city, this is just saint Jules, there's only one thing in my mind the World Cup could he feature, will he start? Going to be in the squad, obviously, you take a look at France, there arguably the deepest squad out there going into the World Cup in November. Yes, there are and I think it's a long shot for him. There's still three months to go between now and when Deshawn will announce his 26 months squads, but he's obviously never been called that before. We know that the show is watching him like all the potential squad members if you want outside of the usual starters and the one that I usually being called up by him, but still I think he's too long with because as you said, competition in his position in the road if you want. Someone accused mandem belly is not called up anymore. For example, we then belly right up ahead of some maximum in the picking order

"More, I would say they're paying too much for him. Seems that way, Craig, you know, when we sat in our sociality, he's not a player that's kind of stood out particularly. The weekend against Barcelona it was distant and obviously David silver, broadened from he got that goal, which was lucky when it was a big deflection off Eric Garcia, but you take a lot when you can get it. Is rob was said, you'll run illustrator's defenses, that's something that, you know, the same Chris Wood, they got Callum Wilson. Wilson will run around, but is it will run directly on behind. The one thing is young. So in terms of potential, it's there. Every day I come in, I just think the game has got more nuts. It's just tires. I mean, there's no, there's no rationale now to transfers. I mean, previously, and I don't want to harp about years. I'm only going to go back maybe two or three years. You really had to be in the top Echelon to be in and over 50 million. You really had to be now it seems your blogs, all those other ones. So we can't rationalize transfers anymore. We just can't. And unfortunately, that's the way the game's gone and some clubs are benefit from it. And other clubs are just shelling out for fun. I have nothing against the lad themselves with a decent player. It's an international footballer. And it's a great opportunity for them. And he's not the only one who's coming in under these huge transfer fees at Newcastle and around Europe. But let's be Frank. In terms of money laid out on category of players know, the game is just bonkers, it's gone. But there's no rationale anymore. And it seems there's no rationale in the thinking of certain football clubs either. But I suppose Shaq does it really matter. Newcastle owners have got bottomless pit of money. So who cares if it's 60, 70 million? Well, the feeling all along with Newcastle is that they weren't going to just spend silly money. Though, I have to say, I thought the price tag for izak was a little bit excessive for who he is and what he brings. I'm not sure he's the kind of player you smash your transfer record to bring in regardless of who you are and that's when you castle did. But for Eddie Ho while it's tough to question

"What did you make of gabion? His second run, but he's made and basically over offenses. He finished second to noble Yates and was then very. As well as obviously that go away run by a magic day. She came on both of them. We may as race. Handled the better ground slightly further to those, but he was in he traveled early well on the front end of all time. I thought he had the race. So not pretty much from a fairway out to his decent performance yet. So who are you leaning towards here then? Because this is a race car. It's gone to some very smart horses in the past, but the yard. I don't think there's I'm not sure there's a superstar in there this year, I think it pretty average and offer an eel to be honest. Lifetime ambition jumped really well down when he won on debut. And Beacon edge speaking edge is obviously a far superior head level. But perhaps lacks that scope to reach the same item offenses. You look like he was a bit of an effort for him. I thought that forms obviously advertised over nearly a UK of the pale next time. Probably use that as a bit of a step in any needed that will maybe. Strictly on a piece of chase and form, I'd say that was arguably the best on offer. Certainly that and the victory of Gabriel sort of understand why I use it. He's up there at the bed. Lifestyle ambition usually raised a 125 overalls when he won his last two when I made and anyone just sound festival. He should never really struck me as also, I never thought of him at the end of last season. And while he'll be a great one, chaser. No respect him, obviously horses improved for going on fences, and that might well be the case with him. He does look a chase inside. And again, this might be an opportunity for him to strike decent level because it doesn't look the best the races. So strictly on what we've seen this season I would slightly favor lifetime ambition over Gabby and I go, but I wouldn't be getting too excited by the race to be honest with her down Kate Jenner on the look of the early seasons, but it's two wins. Then seems to be putting his place in obsolete, I put two sounds abbreviated as hell, which was only a couple of weeks ago. If he'd put a line through that runner, if you haven't said that, I think he'd be a short price favor. It's going to so if you can forgive that one run and perhaps in her entire it will time will tell that he was facing an impossible task. Trying to concede that way, potentially very smart there. So eagle go well, Graham paddy wasn't too far behind. It was off the bride, but he looked like he was going to stay on again so maybe I lifetime on being so purely if you're just looking for a bit of value. Again, represents them saying connections call or construction in the callers are field or mighty parter. So again, that is a big day for them on Sunday. It wasn't too far behind like some ambition. I would say you think you would have stayed on. So I think it maybe it's significant to Gordon's prepared to pitch too many again rather than just going through the beginners chase, obviously this can go from the beginning as I chase afterwards, but the fact that he has picked an email suggests that school has gone well since it's worth noting that maybe it's worth noting that lifestyle ambition was sent off 7 to one update. Where those grandpa die was holding the third seat alongside of an early age. So parks again, there's might be a bit of value there that are often a double figure prices, you know what? He's 12, which is why I wanted to talk to you about him because I thought it was I thought it was another mistake that he made. Yeah, that's closer than college original nostalgia throughout last season. And I think there was talk of being aimed at the Martin pipe and things wasn't absolutely one. It's great to see a sales, but yeah, ugly, you probably would want a bit softer. And that would be the only concern there and I think maybe an unknowable just in terms of 12 period of value, especially if you want to say he wasn't far behind. Happy struggles over Betsy is to be honest, think it's one to watch. And it's probably one of the probably a piece of form I might be looking to take on later in the season because I say I don't think it looks a particularly great one. If you fall as we saw about possibly side the Kate general in each way, probably used to watch him briefly. Yeah, and I can completely see why it's just the 12 to one about grand party is sticking out to me like sort of. He's been favorite for all but two of his races, and even in those races he was still very well fancy. He was 72. His car last year. He's right. Before he switches these Denny Switzerland in the new year. So again, he's really lately racist. He just had that one bone at the three starts. Last year, obviously one also wanted made is made in a fairly obviously acting on a track. No problem. I thought he was running highly respectable race just in behind and it would have been interesting to see how it panned out. I did not come down. He said, it's an obviously mistake. And he was going to make mistakes like that on chase debut, just to do things that he probably would like to see a bit of rain. I'm not sure what the forecasters will be also. He's going to get it. If he's going to get it, then he's going to get it..

"You said yourself, she's back. She's back to that form. She's very much the one to beat. And I think that in terms of if you're looking to take her on, I think the weather is key for this race and if you look at the forecast, I'll mess up as to be believed it will be snow and heavy rain overnight and throughout the morning, Newcastle. So where it was looking like it was going to be Google ground. And I thought so royal, I put it up to all of them to be on a stage or the ground was really at race fitness on the side. These are two runs obviously he won't easily attempt and any warm really well. In the elite huddle, we can, which I think again is another point that should be the fact that I think so, it was just in our holes in the flip flop and switch between chase and boys here. Let's have so rapidly he does have a genuine two mile champion at all class four. So I was thinking throughout the week when I was thinking it was going to be good ground. So I was the way I was kind of leaning and thinking of the prices to eat. You probably were to answer if the ground materials could end up being it would favor Everton some. And it might end up that things have just fallen small nipples, not locally at the ends of Mont moral, as another. Due to one foreseen circumstances when he wasn't eligible to run in the new Indian newbury race things might end up parallels in his favor. He showed up at E is one of my leading prospects this year Montreal. That's right. And he was he was included early in the fourth. I was hoping that he would go send. It would be century. And there are a couple of times I was probably on last year and probably board listeners saying about how much I talked to him. I was quite forward to get to be able to race throughout lockdown and seeing him and Paul lost on that. I saw him a haydock, when he nasal arm. It was a fortunate winner today, obviously. Easily in the four year old race in February. And I was already run out of comfortable winner at that geo obviously did not enter. I didn't harm the form. It's all about running well on the top weights and recently. So it is always difficult to avoid all the stepping up into open company that will be followed all lines in the cliches. He was the best of the last year. But for me, I didn't think he developed the champion at all. So I thought if he stayed remained over at LZ with either need a soft ground to win a decent handle race or maybe a little bit further. So I actually thought the way the weather forecast was. I thought it made a way to follow the international head a little two mile one on a new course and a couple of weeks ago and then say as a transpires if that is a bit of an ease in the ground that long calls phase if not so sleepy goes off and takes into a test. Perhaps it will plan to land a montmartre. So he's got to step up and put some markets for him as we were going now. He's only to see a blue one, I'll just check it. So be hopeful of a big run. It wouldn't be a better news for me. I think it's a fascinating race. As we've said, the epitome comes back to best she wins. We'll be brave enough to back all so far as fall on the back of three seemingly slightly below par rooms. I wouldn't be personally, I was leaning towards so well with the way the weather is going now. I think it's going to definitely negate this chance somewhat, so I can see him drifting. It would be nice to go and see mommy all when I've seen him again and falls this sort of is a stone and all some of these water can't wait to see what all the fences next year. Whether he's up to winning this, I hope he is, but I wouldn't be back at around two to one to be honest in this company. So again, let's watch him brief for me, sorry. No, I don't apologize. There's absolutely no need to apologize at all because the point of the matter is that if you're going to come on and give a strong opinion and say, this is the rest of the back. So just stick in blindly. Knowing that the conditions are going to go against the horse. Then there's zero point..

"About the strength of that form. To be honest, he was not one for one as Irish mark that day. It's a one 52, one 53 sorry an island runs off one 53 tomorrow at newbury. Although if you look back, obviously, you finished runner up to monkfish in the beginning of the beginning of the last season. I'm sorry, Paul. Who did you say? Bump into fond. You can't not play it. We're not going to see him this season. So any excuse, no offense thank you. At the start last season, I was a cluster was one of my leading prospects in last year's book. He was also I was a really excited to see about going over fences. He was, in a way, he was like similar profile to mister Lincoln and that we barely see him. Just in two hurdle races came out to perform when he want to point to his town on debut and I got again when being asked guardia San and pencil full of that. Integrate three race at nice, then obviously he came down fairly. I think it was mid race and the old auto say the brown adviser as it is now. He has got the right profile for the race in that. He's a lightly raced second season Jesus. He can return to action at wexford. I was going to be honest I wasn't blown away by looking at the horses physique and started thinking he looks like he probably appeals as one who would benefit for the run. So I'd expect them to step forward. I think listening to interviews from her earlier in the week, this has been the target. So it's probably that was part of probably part of his finishing touches that race on his reappearance. So yeah, I think he takes plenty of boxes, one 54, probably fair enough Mark. I could see him ending up in the better grade. The race is later on the season. And the one question we'll love with him is the ground, if he can sing news to the dry and save him really mentioned it briefly. I was just looking forecast on that office. And there's a fair bit of rain to the new breed tomorrow morning, operating until race time. So we might get a bit more easier and I do think he would need the sting of the ground from today. So keep an eye on that. But the one I came down on was the Paul Nichols trained. And I thought travel particularly well. When he was disqualified from the best three 6 5 goal controversial finish, obviously, the end of season. He traveled notably well after one another San Diego chase at newbury, jumped around really well, back in February. Early seasons last year was quite key. You notice there would be when he was checked. So it's just slightly in the back of my mind for tomorrow when he did not have another prep room. He then went to a song called ground on both of them. I think the sound serve is definitely an issue to him. I think the female two trip will be perfect. You're not that sandbag race for the last time. Yeah, I think Paul will often spot on for the day. Just at the price is another way of the aircraft three isn't a favorite source to top the market now. I think we're a little bit the one for me each way. Very fair price as well, which I will confirm again for you with kaluki, kaluka, currently going 7s. So will that hold up? Or will the final fall on podcast posse all just load up onto kaluki sportsbook and take Paul Ferguson's advice? So your overall selection is and of the Irish sources you would choose eclat. Yeah, they would be the two I would look at the head of the market and really try and just I think a point where I think all along that's been assumed a Holly called dumble bit newer and willow. So there was no sort of getting swayed to go to a mom or maybe a mister glass open Newcastle at any fun fact. You would normally assume that stable job is one of going right in the grade one, but I think it's been presumed all along the how they would stay at newbury and ride and realize, I should just touch on the machine because they mention him. For the race, we've just touched on Newcastle equally won his second novice chase. He won a race at his office the first time out last year to work out really well on decent ground. He then went to ask us on one another standing up chase around this time last year when he was on last weekend because I think I was paid off what an on screen on better Tuesday. And I remember posting a tweet either soon after all that even and saying, I thought it was eager to end up being. And if you continue to improve, you could end up being a seahorse. It was obviously beaten at the truck at the Christmas meeting after which he had the wind surgery and then he traveled really well in a Reynolds sound. Again, obviously kaluki will come out to that race and hopefully Frank platform earlier on the card. Just get the one thing that I've got on the back of my mind with the machine is the way he's gone through his races, whether he really wants this three and a quarter miles. So that triple the Newcastle just shy of three miles was in my mind that would have been the best option for him, but obviously this is a much more serious reason. Kelly Lee has been a good form of stars and season. And you can understand why she wants to give it a go second time..

"Come in at Saint James's Park. He is two to one and to be the next manager Frank Lampard's done well, isn't he to get himself in the conversation and at least in fava Antonio Conte Martinez, Steven Gerrard, Ragnar and Graham Jones at 12 to one. Brennan Rogers steaming. Is that someone you would go for if you're a Newcastle? I mean, I'm not sure to be top of the list, but I think they need somebody who knows the Premier League. Who would be top of the list? I would think Antonio Conte for me would be top of the list. The new dog organizing this guy can organize this guy likes to spend money. They've got money to spend. He's got experience in the Premier League. He knows all about it. It's no longevity with Antonio Conte. Yeah, but I think right now, Newcastle needs stabilizing. Certainly on the field, then that means stealing the Premier League. You bring something to him and he's going to have he's going to be pointing fingers at everybody and getting every single breath out them to keep them in the Premier League. That's the only thing that's important right now. When Antonio Conte want this job, gam. He wants to go back into the Premier League and he'll tell you that, you know, he wants an ambitious project and as Stevie said he wants money to spend. So it comes down to do you believe that they're going to go and spend a ton of money instantly or do you believe that it is going to be a more gradual thing? Like the ground that they have to make up is enormous. And when you mention somebody like Brendan Rodgers, well, look, he's at a club like last year historically aren't as big as Newcastle, although I think they won more Premier League titles. But when you look at this, is that a club that spend a ton of money? He's got the players he wants. He also has a very, very rich owner. You know, would you want to trade that in for the job of getting Newcastle from second bottom to the table? Up to where Lester are right now. That is already a huge quantum leap. And how many years is that going to take? And how many windows? So I don't think it's quite going to be that simple unless they really do show up with a blank checkbook, which I suppose is a possibility, but I think based on what they're saying is very, very unlikely. Here's your go for Craig. I think these people are best grip is holy serious. It's going to be a long plan. And I know no castle finds wanting to see, you know, it's been frustrating for them under Ashley and we get up, but he's a businessman. We saw these people and I think they should go for a slow trajectory. And not try and just come in and blitz it, which is going to be difficult for them in terms of the financial hot dogs. And so I think you go for a manager who is potentially going to be there for a few years. And I know it's Stevie saying, but I just don't see Conte and not more. So, you know, I go for somebody that was clearly going to be wanting to stay there for 5 years or longer because I think it's going to take that amount of time for Newcastle to at least be on the court deals of some of the bigger guys because it's not easy used to quote and change the squad is so depleted and so average in standard compared to the other big boys are under Premier League. Finally, gab, just for those who maybe haven't followed this story that closely, just explain if you can why this takeover hasn't been welcomed by everybody. Well, it hasn't been welcomed by a lot of external people, human rights organizations and so on. Simply because of the Saudi government's role in acknowledged in the killing of the dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who you remember was hacked to pieces inside the Saudi embassy in an Istanbul, lord in there. The United Nations father report, which held the highest ranks of the Saudi regime responsible that the Saudi government themselves, they had a trial and they found people guilty for it. That there's concern over human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia. And there has been a big outcry over this, but ultimately, the Premier League felt that, you know, they couldn't stand in the way. And this is a business transaction. And they probably said, well, you know, Saudi Arabia is an ally of the United Kingdom. We buy weapons from them. We sell them weapons. We trade with them. Why should this be any different? And of course, it's international break. When all this happened, the Premier League returns this weekend with Newcastle in action.

"Be able to grow and bring 11 12 of the best at one point. So it depends what the strategy is. I mean, every name and under the sun's getting binding about it, as you mentioned, look, it's not like Jack walker back in the day when he bought when he was on a blackboard rovers and there was no financial fair play in his he was able to go out and Ken and de grease saint Helen saint him same shit as saying the best players. Let's go and run the Premier League. You know, to do that, your overall Liverpool and city, the two best teams of the last three or four years. I mean that's a billion or $2 billion when you look at how much a player costs now and it is gap said you just can't go out and spend that amount of money. I mean, you might be able to do it over a period of long period of time, but not all over a short period of time. So it's going to be interesting to see what the strategy is. And yeah, you know, you've got to convince them you're talking about all these great players. And bopping, you know, how and all these superstars are going to go around or whatever. I've been mentioned. You know, only got off on the money. You got to convince them that yeah, we're going to pay you a bit too. You're going to play in a state that's going to be competing with all these big teams. And in less you can go out and throw a blanket over these top players and bring them all in. That's just not going to happen until in a short period of time. So it's great news in terms of money. But in terms of a strategy, it's going to be interesting to see what way they go about it. The general consensus is that Steve Bruce is a dead man walk in the man, of course, currently, in charge of Newcastle. The bookies fancy Brendan Rogers to.

"The big game in the premier league today. It was liverpool against chelsea liverpool. Losing one nil. They've now lost five straight home league games for the first time in club history. Stevie nickel how has it come to this. Oh my goodness well as being a slippery slope I remember sitting here. What thirteen games ago liverpool. It's operatives league they had west brom coming up at newcastle coming up. They had only coming up. And we're talking about who's gonna stop liverpool routine in this tale. David Higgerson, chief audience officer, Reach plc, on overcoming leadership challenges during the pandemic

"We're here of course the talk about The new websites and the recruitment drive that reaches has been on. But you know a good place to start might just be canola ing how difficult it's been for the news industry across the board over. The last twelve months reaches is no exception. We've seen reported figures around thousand staff followed in april. Five hundred fifty jobs announced would be in july. So there's been a lot of tough decisions for you over the last twelve months right. Yeah very much. So so many businesses so a significant change in in revenues results that pump dynamic on the course of the country looking down by what you don't know when that happens in Lifetime hopefully events is is how long it's going to go. Full dated in in some ways he still going about. Said you know scale really helped us whether the stolen in the way that Lawsuit companies have struggled so we go to the trump mission project which so things reach y which was to get stories to multiple I suppose journalists working working But it's not that the change was a huge change on the radio A tough to pay for which which took a lot out to people. Yeah told me about some of those decisions on. Why they will made so quite simply. It was a case of the pandemic documentary. Also of the Eighteen thousand newcastle office. And boris johnson. Issue taes kinda tried to work from home order and then within seven days. That have become a leave. Your house one hour a day for exercise older and the hold of the country's economy went into the states state of shock. Appetizing dried up. We had to. We have to respond. The first lock was what maybe twelve weeks. Aside but the the the shock was seismic lots of businesses didn't reopen put teams of genesis under the functions aung Whether work at literally stopped. It's i've never really filthy So they twenty as of two journalists if the world stops your ability to report on the world stops certain extents as well so s boats being an example wellstone another area as as well And then it became clear that the impact. It was having on on the basement that we would need to We would need to restructure that led to the Pronouncements which as well documented included a number of our journalists since then things have gotten better national clients have continued to spend interesting joined. The second lockdown In november even though in many ways it was very similar to the first one. I think a lot of businesses hit become used to how to continue trading during a lockdown periods. And not certainly out. So yeah so how. How was that felt across national and local titles however those decisions spread out. We looked at each title. And what tout. Where can we do things more efficiently. Certain things may in some places some edits to coulter stop doing will do less of an it was taken a taco by top basis. I think one of the things did prove was for a long time. We've had people questioning externally within the industry. Rather all you just on a chase for pageit's which would strongly we don't just do about collecting patriots at any cost. But if you look at the life network which is the puck. I think we're gonna talk about most today in in twenty ten. That was one hundred million pages a month if the started. Twenty twenty one eight hundred million pages a month that scale both resilience which meant the otherwise could be much much worse if we weren't reaching as many people as we were so in many ways the scan of the pages that we can even regional news prevented it from being from being a lot worse reached new music case of how to ensure we can. We continue doing what we doing within the budget afforded to us. As a result of the changed economic landscape us as far as the the optimum question was what they sought decisions a help or a hindrance. I mean you've staved off the financial pressures at the cost of thinning. Your ranks help or hindrance david. How do we see color

How do we see color

"Some really interesting science behind how we see in color you might have heard of photo receptors. The cone cells on the rod cells. Basically when light hits here eye. It stimulates these cells which send a message to your brain. Your rod cells are great at seeing in dim light but can only see in shades of black and white whereas your cone cells only work well in brighter light but allow you to see color but it turns out. There's more to it than that as thanks to physics when we see a colorful what we're really seeing is the color of light reflected back to us from the light hitting that up decked katie halo spoke to fanatic. And your whole but from the university of newcastle. Can we start off with a very brief rundown of the basics. I'm currently looking at a computer screen with a very bright blue background. How am i perceiving. Blue your federal receptors in your eye are picking up that light signal and analyzing it in terms of its different wavelength components in a sort of bluish band greenish band and a reddish band. The cells further on the visual. Pathway are comparing how much bluish greenish reddish light. There is from your computer screen relative to the background. So when you're seeing color you're always seeing relative light amounts from the thing you're looking at relative to the background. So that means that the quality of the color is dependent upon the light source right absolutely and since you were talking about your computer screen i was thinking of your computer screen as the light source but of course most things we look at or not light sources their their surfaces. They absorb incident on them from a light source and then they reflect the remaining light to the eye. So what we're seeing. When we see colors of objects is the intrinsic material properties of the object that enabled them to reflect certain wavelengths others but the light that hits the is a combination of the light. That's shining on it. From the light source and the inherent reflectance properties of the object does not mean that if we're looking at something under natural light compared to artificial light has quite a difference in what we're actually perceiving in terms of color. Well there's a huge difference in terms of the light. That's hitting the i. If i take an apple and i look at it in bluish. Sunlight reflecting much more bluish light to my than it does when i take it inside and look at it under a candlelight which has much more orangish light in it so that read up a would reflect more of that orange light to but what my whole visual system is doing from i to higher levels of the brain is sort of filtering out that difference in the light shining on the apple so that i can continue to see it as red

Manchester United scores 100th-minute penalty to secure dramatic win over Brighton

"United get their first win of the season and it's the most dramatic of endings against Brighton who hit the woodwork five times jewel social suggested that got away with one could away it was smash and grab robbery just rub it was it was a penalty the end with the whole scenario the whole thing how bad united in for most of the game really apart from the Russian Golden Umbrians, the past from Bruno Fernandes, the rest he was really poor and Brighton was so good at times but hey, don't take your chances eventually you get punished during its. Maguire and they've not signing centreback. Marino isn't happy gab when you start talking about respect bays right on location isn't it because they dominated Newcastle and then they gave up a very controversial injury-time equaliser penalty. So the whole respect thing I he's he's he's done this before we've seen him do this before right implications when I play for big powerful clubs like say. Managed big POPPA clicks Mantis united around Madrid I get the calls but spurs are a big club but they're not respect. It's the same stupid historial statements and if you didn't like the call it the end with the handball fairplay you I understand it. As we said earlier, there's a reason why Things are being done this way. A very good solution as well. The PGA memorial can remind referees, guys you have discretion you have discretion in looking at this because there remains discretion. The only time there is no discretion is if the arm is above the head, which was which may have been the case with. Eric dire possibly because he was pushed because he's not super coordinated. Borderline Personality Disorder: Listen with Care

"Dot Oregan. Dialectical behavior therapy dbt has become the gold standard for borderline personality disorder and studies are starting to go head to head with dbt and clinical trials. Reviewed one that fared well good. Psychiatric management in our summer issue and a new one just came out of Australia a study by Carlo Watson and colleagues from the University of Newcastle. It tested conversational therapy, which uses careful listening and the therapeutic relationship as the fulcrum of change. Over fourteen months one, hundred, sixty, two patients with borderline personality disorder were randomized dbt or conversational therapy both therapies are twice a week. Conversational involves two one on one sessions and DBT and individual in a group session both therapies were equally effective thing that matters most and borderline personality self injury. DBT had a greater effect on depression possibly because it employs more behavior activation than conversational therapy does both therapies had similar effects on core symptoms of borderline. So what is this conversational therapy that fared? Pretty decently against dbt it's sometimes called psycho dynamic interpersonal therapy. The therapist listens empathic lead to the patient reflecting back what they here with statements rather than questions and mutual I. So I went to culinary school and we learned how to make ice cream like in a machine, their small machine but I really enjoyed the process and the different things you could add to it and fell in love with it and just decided. That if I was GonNa do something for myself long-term. I wanted to be ice cream because I from my childhood even now to adult Abulat fond memories that include ice cream and I wanted to be a part of that for families and friends in people that I know and don't know into you know old a special place in their heart through. To, learn how to Mike US Cream. I names ULA years old from Nova Scotia Canada, and I'm wondering how does not turn into ice cream? Hi May name is May and flavors up, and my question is holidays came made ice cream sounds like it's just cold cream, but there's a little more to it. So what is ice cream? So ice cream is defined as a frozen dairy dessert. That basically has air like incorporated into it while it's freezing because while the air. So the basis of it is usually heavy cream milk. Sometimes I'd guilt not always use sugar and then whatever your flavorings are gonna be. So we basically he'd all those things up together bring him to a point where all of our ron greedier become safe to eat. Whole it down and then. Put it into machine which we refer to as a batch freeze there that we would turn on as a cylinder on inside so that ice cream is spinning as getting cold. So while we incorporate air that ice cream, if you will you get basically this fluffy creamy product because when you mix. Hold an air milk. You get that texture that we all know as ice cream if it didn't spin around if you didn't get the air into it, would it just be like a block of ice to ascend? So does going to save. You don't put the air intuit things that we also know popsicles if you've ever had like a fudgesicle which is the icy but still cold that is what would happen if you didn't pump that air into it so that if you wanNA sound fancy, we referred to that freezing as. Simply. Frozen. So quietly frozen basically freezes. In like a period of inactivity.
