"Million miles away director Isabella not at all what she was expecting maybe i was expecting to meet the regular astronaut wife i've seen on film you know thousands of times like the quiet like waiting and praying wife and she had ideas she was very people very outspoken about it she was making her demands while she cooked this which was super spicy so i was intimidated by i just saw her as so says boosters you know she was like the rockets on the ship and that was a metaphor that came with me along the and back to Adela's question what did the other candidates have that jose didn't it wasn't something fabulous like charmer tenacity it was a few very specific things i found out that they were all pilots they were all scuba dive rated and most of them knew three languages and so it's right in front me of now time to invest in myself and make myself more attractive to NASA so that's what he did and according to jose it never felt like hard work because he loved what he was doing in my particular case i was rejected getting left and right eleven times jason but i would always pick myself back up and say what's worst thing that could happen if i never ever got selected me wanting to be an astronaut motivated me to go to college graduate school work in a world premier research facility become a pilot learn how to go but i've learned a third language and so i would tell myself hails a you don't have it so that the consolation prize is pretty good who better to leave this planet and dive into the unknown than a migrant farm worker the film a million miles away is being released right at the start of hispanic heritage month something that means a lot to both jose and his director alejandro it's a celebration of the accomplishments of a lot of people that come before us we have to honor our people we have to honor the people who bring food to everyone's tables and as my father said you you know should never be ashamed of what you do because you're bringing food to the tables of everybody in the world. Fresh update on "new york jets" discussed on Live From Studio 6B

"Alright live from Studio 6B on a Monday. New month. October is here. Slick Rick's gonna do some news. Lots to talk about. Harry on the highways in the building. Aaron and Fran holding it down as always. And of course you live from Studio 6B audience. New week. New month. Hope everybody had a great weekend. We were off Friday. I was off Thursday. Thanks to the great David Zier for sitting in for me on short notice. As always appreciate that. So I feel like I haven't been here in a long time. Slick Rick how are you? Fantastic big day. How was your weekend? It was terrible. Oh why you ask? Why? Well I'll tell you why. Because if there's one sporting event in the world that I almost paint my face red white and blue that's how much I'm into it. As you know Slick Rick and I know you know what I'm about to say. Is the Ryder Cup. It's the one event in golf. There's a lot of events in golf I love being a golfer my whole life. But the Ryder Cup is is the event that I look forward to and root as hard as you can root for the American team especially as they flip-flop home and away home and away when they're away in Europe for the Ryder Cup. And your favorite player of all shine. And this was an unmitigated disaster for the US. But first let me say David Zier how are you? I'm wonderful thank you so much for asking. What's under Marxist leftist assault? New York. New York is crazy. Washington's not far behind. Check. Is there anything new? Another day that ends in Y. Mayor Adams is going to Mexico City we should revoke his. Yeah. Oh the white shirt. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm hearing something in my ear. Is that going to air Fran? No. Oh it's not going to air. Okay that's Harry on the highway. The white shirt is black is blaring. Harry of course comes in and takes over the microphones talking to us. White balance. If you were at least going to air Harry that'd be better so people could hear you. Yeah yeah well anyway EV mandates are here for trucks we'll get into that if you want. Great. You know. Fantastic. Takes away 20% of the cargo weight of a truck that's good news for the truckers. All right so we're gonna get into all that. David Zier's got a bunch of news he wants to get into. Slick's gonna have sports but just to get back to what I just and then we'll get into. We'll get into Gates and all this nonsense and then McCarthy and it's it's this is a cut we'll get into all of that what's going on motion to vacate is on the floor okay rah rah rah great we'll get into all of that how we got here and what the real real problem is here it's not Gates and it's honestly not McCarthy it's this whole damn party that that's really the bottom line so we'll get into all of that and how we got here and some of the things maybe you didn't know that happened you know I I said to somebody this weekend when all this was going down if you're at the table in your short stacked and you have seven deuce offsuit for those of you who play poker you know it's gonna be harder for you to be the bully at the table then if you have got you know 70% of the chips in play and you've got aces every hand you know then you can bluff and and bully and do these things and here we are with a four-seat majority and all along what have we talked about on this show we have talked about the fact that you actually have to get to the shutdown you have to get to the shutdown and with a four-seat majority how much are you gonna be able to do without eventually playing into McCarthy's hands and have him turn around and work with the Democrats which is not exactly what happened but pretty damn close pretty close to what we talked about but before we even get to that because this is gonna be a night of basically drawing the distinction between the Democrats and the Republican Party as a whole because that's really we're pretty much screwed with the party that we have now it's just it's just a fact but just to just to draw the distinction let's talk about California for a second so what happens in California Diane Feinstein passes away last week I guess on Friday was it Friday yeah I saw the news or Thursday Friday whatever it was now California is obviously a huge state and you'd have to figure it's it's California's become a you know leftist progressive utopia over the last years and of course slick slick Newsome running the show and everybody's talking about him and how he's gonna worm his way into the presidency and whatever he gets to a point this person in the to replace Feinstein so you look at you look at California and you got to think well there's got to be a lot of up-and-coming Marxists in the state Senate state legislature some government body there in California that he can go to House members whoever well Gavin Newsom goes to someone that wasn't elected to anything in California as a we can tell she's registered to vote in Maryland didn't she scrub her Twitter page she did today so he appointed a quote first of all black female because that was if you're gonna check the boxes on what she had to have it wasn't you know good legislative history it wasn't smart it wasn't black female check black lesbian female okay we're about to get the box number two does that seem you know kind of random black woman who of course he promised the point that's not even from California so why do you pick her of course that brings us to box two not only she a black female she's a lesbian activist so now we have two boxes checked and that brings us to of course box three which is she's a rabid abortion activist she's the head of Emily's list which is the biggest pro abortion organization that the left you know is in bed with or whatever so this just draws the distinction between the Republican Party and the Democrats the Democrats will get whoever serves their purposes the most on the issues that matter to them the most at the time they matter and they will do whatever they have to to get their biggest activists their biggest player for whatever they're trying to tackle they'll do whatever and wherever to get those persons in those positions the Republicans would never do something like this the Republicans would never make a move like this abortions hot what does he do goes out and gets a black lesbian abortion activist who's not even a Californian to put in this Senate seat which is a hugely powerful seat and she campaign advisor to Kamala Harris they take their best fighters at the time they need them for the issues they need them for and do whatever they have to to get them in position to fight for what they want the Republicans just don't do it they just don't do it you'd never see something like that as we face every existential crisis known to man coming at us border inflation debt biomedical tyranny judicial tyranny all over this country so do you mean that the left always puts the most hardcore person up and we don't we always put a moderate they they put what they put whoever the most vicious yeah killer to attack issue they think they can leverage to win because when we started 2023 what were the Republican leverage points that we had we had to we had the debt ceiling and we had the September 30th deadline that we knew was coming for the budget that was the leverage Republicans had heading into 2023 correct everybody knew that this is your chance to not give the American Express black card to the Democrats again with no limit decide what you're gonna fund decide what you're not gonna fund and use your leverage points to get what you want and what's amazing about where we are is that in all of the times on this show I've talked about these debt ceilings Pelosi and Schumer rolling McConnell rolling McCarthy rolling who ever was in charge they always got their ass kicked all over the place always but in previous years they always had the leader of the party whether they were in control the White House or not had the ability to actually help them in messaging and now we're in this fight with a president and leader of their party who can't put a complete sentence together is half dead is half comatose every single day not even there to help them fight this fight and yet the outcome is still no different still no different so you can't fight on a party that it's extremely disliked a president that is extremely disliked on issues that the American people favor your position on most and they couldn't even fight for 24 48 72 hours past the deadline for government shutdown they were more scared of the actual shutdown than they are of what's going on at the border what's going on it with inflation what's going on as everything that cripples your life that's crushing your existence that's crushing your Liberty no they're not scared about that they're scared about all but the the the the deadline to shut down the government we couldn't even get to a government shutdown which has been the point I've talked about for you have to get to the shutdown which is why Chip Roy who clearly saw this coming a mile away and Byron Donald's had put together to start an 8% credit cut across the board and catch and release some other border provisions as at least a point to say here's our jump-off point here's what we're gonna stand behind we're gonna pass this and send it to marble mouth and let him pressure would it have mattered that Democrats didn't have the Democrats have to say in an election year are we gonna are we gonna work we're gonna be responsible for this shutdown right now are we gonna be responsible for saying no no no we don't want to secure the border at all yeah I think one by the way before you before you go on the word on the street is that 8% that they discussed two weeks ago not got shut down went to 30% yeah on Friday afternoon I saw it because that's what they had promised back in March and they said let's do it 30% cut I saw that but you know again in the end does it do anything my my concern is that I don't care if the government shuts down let us shut down when new gang rich which surprisingly you know was ripping apart Matt gates because new Cambridge shut down the government and we got the largest tax crease in cuts up until that point in the history of America the economy took off like a rocket ship in 1996 I'm in the building industry for 35 years I watched it it happened and also they got Clinton to balance the budget over it but I just wanted to add Ben Burquam on the war room tonight if you didn't catch it go online and watch the segment with Ben because you know they he was on fire that they should all walk out of Congress just over the border situation but anyway that's that's why that's why they discussed using the border as a jump-off point it was easily understandable by the public it was something that every almost every you would think everybody in the in their caucus even the mainstream Rhino caucus and if certainly the Freedom Caucus would have been on board with you throw in an 8% cut for the 30 45 days and say this is our jump-off point it's not this is not what we want we know this is not going to be signed but this is our jump-off point in the house here you go let Schumer and them say no we don't we're not gonna do this let them be responsible for the messaging but we could never get there all right a lot more on this and some of the other things that happened this past weekend and the real question is when is enough enough for the Republicans all right 17 past the hour live from studio 6b we'll do some sports and news here in a second so just to finish these first thoughts so I was away for two days and all this was going down I mean I have no confidence that in 45 days anything's gonna be any different and I just I just don't know how how much worse does it have to get like where do we have to get to that the Republicans can actually unify behind some messaging is there any amount of people across the border is there any amount of inflation is there any amount of our Liberty be taken away that the Republicans can unify behind positions and you know how unify behind messaging at the actual time that it actually matters like how lives have to be destroyed how many people have to be targeted how much how much does the Trump family have to deal with how much degradation to your way of living does there have to be political targeting of opponents of Americans j6 or like how much is there anything that will elicit a unified response from the Republican Party is the question that I would ask myself tonight what if the you know the Freedom Caucus and the conservative people who claim to be more conservative what if they're not happy with what the Republicans are doing there's no fight in the mainstream Republican Party I think in normal times I could be down with that argument you have a four-seat majority you have to play the hand at some point you have to play the hand you're dealt you could argue that what Gates is doing and I always say what do I say about Gates he's always on offense he's sometimes the only one but you have to be somewhat pragmatic about what you can get at the time what do you have right now you have 45 days of Biden's agenda still fully funded with not a single concession I think the left you've lost the plot my friend I think the left wants to annihilate our country they want to flood the country with the Legals they want to tear it all down and that's their that's their end game so you know the Republicans are complicit in it by not taking tougher stands you know so I understand what you're saying I honestly don't even think it's like one it's not even about gates it's not even about McCarthy it's about the party as a whole it's not even about one person yeah I dare say it's not even about marble mouth it's not about one person when you look at this party when you look at where we are is there anybody that thinks in 45 days this is going to be any different now he's put a motion to vacate on the floor I don't think he's gonna get 218 votes and he admits that he says he probably won't get it on the first time around so maybe they'll come to a consensus by then you know maybe they make gains maybe gates makes gains and they come out swinging after that right I mean it's always worst before the dawn right I don't know I think the gates is doing us any favors right now with the way he says but I also don't think like if he was out of the picture that we would be like sailing off to conservative utopia either I don't think that's I don't think that's the case either right that's what I'm saying I don't think it's about one person at this point with the party it's the whole party as a whole it's bigger than I don't know what we can do about it I don't know I don't know if we can do anything about it even if we dig in our heels unless they say I'm not coming to Congress anymore and we're gonna shut down the government for good until we fix the border you know and other things I mean we're being destroyed like we are being destroyed right now there's one thing you can say in past years Republicans have never had the people on the inside to fight the fight now we have people who are willing to fight the fight but they're not part of it right yeah exactly but no one now we have the outside not paying attention most people are not paying attention to what's going on the 104th Congress you know in the Republican Revolution did make dramatic gains it was a special time in our history and in the end you know people like Scarborough it's a total jerk you know was part of that Republican Revolution but they got a lot done right in the beginning they got a lot done and you know I don't know I feel like the civil and criminal courts are controlled by leftists and Marxists I feel the federal government is controlled by people who want you dead they want us dead they don't want us around and you know we're in the fight for our lives so you know I just it just bothers me that there's gonna be like you know negotiating you know I don't know what to do I don't know what to do but you know we're all getting hurt we're all getting hurt and people can't pay their bills right now does anyone does anyone think in these 45 days that McCarthy can get eight appropriations bills with actual key priorities that the Republicans say they are gonna stand for and actually stand in unity before the what we should have been doing in August when we went on recess which is part of the problem mrs. Warren McCarthy screwed us again not only to screw us on the debt ceiling he screwed us on this too why weren't we doing this in August putting the 12 appropriations bills together and then again say here's what's the messaging here's what we're standing behind here's what we're doing we're ready to go for September 30th we're ready to go we're passing this and here you go Senate I look at it like when you read the news the mainstream media and they say gates is bad I feel like he's doing something right but I also agree with what you're saying you know I get it but you know they want it they want to demonize the right yeah all right we'll do more on this more news with David dear let's do some sports though and here with that is slick Rick Rick Amorani sports brought to you by Mike Lindell if you didn't see Lindell today on war room I shared the clip on our social media and it's just a constant he's just another one it's just how much just a constant attack now he's getting audited there's five or six audits going on now all of a sudden at my pillow if you didn't see it it's on our social media check that out but Mike Lindell sponsor sports LFS XP is the code slick Rick what's going on I big D well before I get to recap the games we have to pick the NFL game on tonight the Monday night game odds makers Aaron and I it's the New York Giants hosting the Seattle Seahawks in MetLife Giants on the move big D they got the ball down around the 30-yard line five minutes into the game so who you gonna take Aaron I'm taking the Giants tonight okay and I'm gonna take Seattle so that makes it interesting I'll take Seattle Seattle's laying two and a half points big D so mark that down in the book and before I get to any of the other odds makers do I do want to get to a story that really disturbed me this morning disturbed my 70s and early 80s football former Pro Bowl tight end Russ Francis dies in a plane crash and we're terrible ESPN report this morning for Pro Bowl tight tight end Russ Francis was killed in a plane crash in Lake Placid New York on Sunday according to family members Francis was 70 Francis and Richard McSpadden a former commander of the US Air Force Thunderbirds rolled hard to the left after takeoff from Lake Placid Airport before crashing according to a NTSB spokesman it was not immediately clear whether Francis or McSpadden was flying the plane Francis was taken by the New York New England Patriots in the first round of the 1975 draft he made three pole Pro Bowls for the team in 1982 he moved on to the San Francisco 49ers he won a Super Bowl there in 1984 and Francis returned to the Patriots in 1987 before concluding his career the following season Pro Bowl career my older brother Russ Francis was just killed in an airplane crash in Lake Placid New York Francis's brother Ed Francis wrote on Facebook yesterday flying was my brother's lifelong passion and perhaps a fitting way for him to go godspeed to you my big brother very sad story a lot of the old 70s and 80s football fans remember he was one of the prototype phenomenal tight ends of his day big day with the Patriots and very sad news and I'll get to a couple of quick scores so odds makers over the weekend Aaron and I we both split we went two and two she won the Notre Dame game do do do did not pull it out in the end and then I had Kentucky over Florida yes she had Ole Miss over LSU and the Colorado bad now Dion kept it close big day 21 and a half point dog and that game turned into a dog fight at the end 48 41 USC Caleb Williams just getting out of Dodge before that game wrapped that was a heck of a game on Sunday and that's a wrap in sports if we get time later I'll get to the NFL breakdown how we did on that I will do some more sports right when we get back and then we'll do some news with David Zier more news on the budget and where we are what we think is gonna happen we're gonna cover Charlie Kirk tonight his first tour stop in San Jose we'll cover that as well in our to live from studio 60 more to do I 30 minutes past the hour live from studio 6p on a Monday night glad you're in new week new month lots to talk about lots to do as I said we're gonna be covering real America's voice is gonna be covering Charlie Kirk is going on on his think it's called live free tour it's a college tour he's gonna go challenge the progressives I think on these college campuses and when he does we're gonna be covering it so any night that Charlie's out there we're gonna cover it whenever we whenever he goes live we will go to Charlie Kirk tonight I think it's gonna be around 930 or so so last half hour of the show you're gonna get Charlie Kirk live from San Jose on the live free tour so we'll keep an eye on that as soon as they take the stage there we will go live to San Jose and bring you that in its entirety so let's do some more sports 30 minutes past the hour since Slick didn't have a ton of time slick Rick sponsored by Mike Lindell and my pillow LFS XP you know how many emails I got today you know what the majority of them were what's the new shirt of the month that was the number one question I got today in the email is what was the new shirt of the month which I will reveal before the end of the show you've already actually decided what the shirt of the month is the audience you did that last month when you picked the did not comply will not comply you know it was second that's the new shirt of the month and it was really close to the winner last month so that's what we're gonna go with slick what else is going on sports all right well listen to this one Patrick Mahomes goal line slide shifts millions at is in in Vegas David Purdum ESPN staff writer Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Holmes slid down at the New York Jets two-yard line sealing a 23-20 win over the Jets on Sunday night a decision that shifted tens of millions of dollars at sportsbooks around the nation the Chiefs closing as eight-point favorites over the Jets and received overwhelming support from the betting public at sportsbooks an hour before kickoff 91% of the bets and 84% of the money wage it on the game's point spread were on Kansas City at Caesars sportsbook met MGM and draft kings also reported heavy action on the Chiefs a Mahomes touchdown an extra point would have put the Chiefs up ten enough to cover the spread with less than two minutes to play he instead made the heady play to give himself up allowing the Chiefs to kneel run out the final seconds and secure the win big day books makers knew early the last week that they need all all the Jets for a big decision in the Sunday night game all week money from the betting public had poured in on the Jets who opened a nine-and-a-half point road favorites over the Jets yet some big bets from sharp bettors caused the line to move in favor of the Jets in the hours ahead of kickoff Caesars reported taking in a $350,000 bet and a $240,000 bet on the Jets plus eight and a half on Sunday yet still had lopsided action on the Chiefs somebody knew something there big day but the sharp money came in on the Jets and we're still rooting for them Adam pull in this isn't directed the Caesars book said Sunday shortly after the game kicked off the Chiefs jumped out to a 17-nothing lead but of course we know the story the Jets came back Zach Wilson played a stellar game a lot of folks think that the Jets might have got shift you know got the slip down that on that one call that big D little jockey and back and forth between Jets great sauce gardener and the Kansas City receiver skips my mind right now and there was a flag thrown Wow unbelievable so what are you gonna do that's the way it goes and let's just quickly recap the NFL games Aaron and I had picked on Thursday night in advance of Fridays because we weren't on Lions did end up defeating the Packers 34 to 20 therefore I did cover that game we split on that one bills over the Dolphins but blowout 48 to 22 a tug of a low is still looking for his hat unbelievable game there and so that was 48 21 that won the Eagles that was a loss over the commanders minus eight they did pull that game out 34 31 in overtime but they did not cover the Vikings over the Panthers they did cover they won 21 to 13 and we both had the Chiefs beating the Jets they did beat them but they did not win by nine and a half as I just mentioned in that story about my homes and all that money in Vegas big D so for the weekend we were two and two on the NCAA college picks that I mentioned in the last segment and then three and two on the pro so and not such a great weekend there in the NFL I am 21 and 10 on the season right now big day I'm not sure what very impressive your numbers I'm not sure what I think Aaron's 500 that's fantastic too yeah I think I'm just about 500 15 and 15 about fantastic good from both of you so far yeah no not bad pick so we'll have more picks up we got this Friday we have to show a big day so we'll definitely do that do you want to get into the Ryder Cup or you want to skip that news then we'll get into the Ryder Cup because I have some thoughts to offer you on the Ryder Cup too and our captain so we'll get into that more sports thanks LeCric sports is brought to you by Michael and Dallas do some news news is brought to you by seven cells sitting in for Rick Delgado of course the great David Zia mr. Zia hey what's going on in your world there's a lot going on you know I have a background in real estate so this stuff hits home yeah about Trump I mean I don't have assets anywhere near you know or virtually any assets except a home but listen join a club listen all of this stuff has to get vetted through a bank and as my new friend Mandy Katz says her monarch real estate he's an expert a veteran in Manhattan you know there are appraisals their insurance companies is underwriting the site visits there's comps nobody gives out money from a bank you know as lawyer as Trump's lawyers you know crazy put out today nobody's gonna give you a loan based on you say if you were 3.8 billion if you're really only worth 2 billion so the whole thing's fraudulent but you know as Mandy Katz had he had a great quote with me in our conversation that the iconic Trump organization is going to be chopped up and and they want to get rid of the Trump name and bury it under the streets of Manhattan why is it okay for Jeff Bezos to buy a property in Beverly Hills for a hundred and sixty five million dollars on just a couple of acres that's only 12,000 square feet or why is it okay for him to buy a 10,000 foot home not even in a nicer area than Mar-a-Lago's in Palm Beach Island which is the creme de la creme it's the French Riviera of the East Coast of the United States you know for 68 million dollars for a 10,000 foot house or 12,000 foot house I think it's 10 on just a couple of acres people are selling land on Palm Beach Island and right there for 200 million dollars for two acres for three acres just for the land Mar-a-Lago's 30 acres it's 63,000 feet it's the iconic Marjorie Post family from the famous cereal Empire was built it's this incredible property it's probably worth a billion dollars but also Jeff Bezos bought all these properties in Manhattan 17 million 16 million 80 million 11 Madison Park or one of those addresses you know but they're not as nice as Trump Tower and these other iconic and the Trump brand brings so much to it so we're watching this and it's very very sad because when you buy a Trump brand it's like a trophy asset on millionaire or billionaires row it has meaning and depth to it and the value is arbitrary you know you could say it's worth whatever you want it's only what somebody's willing to pay for exactly which with is what it's worth but anyway I just wanted to get that off my chest it's what it's upsetting to watch because now anybody crazy anybody's can be a target if you're on the right and you're in New York doing business your target yeah it's Banana Republic stuff and it's an that's an insult to bananas to say that that's how bad it is it's ridiculous I mean if anyone's ever bought or sold a house I mean you know what's involved with even just doing that when it comes to banks and it comes to appraisers and it comes to pricing and it comes to what they'll lend you and all you ever anybody who's done basic transactions know how valuations work and how and who they're left up to and I've never in all the transactions I've ever done had some radical leftist judge be a part of it or maybe any decisions about it or give his opinion about it yeah it's it's out of control here this is this is another just trying to put the handcuffs on President Trump so that he has continued money issues borrowing issues campaign issues campaign calendar issues whatever they can do it's just so blatantly obvious and wearing a leftist Marxist takeover of a criminal and civil courts like Giuliani says and it's just the way it is and Latisha James Trump calls her a racist has a history of prosecuting or trying to prosecute white men falsely past the Doyle from the cornerstone Church upstate Cornerstone Church he had a reawaken America tour come to his church she wanted him arrested for domestic terrorism or extremism and the Rensselaer County County County executive won a case I think it was the county executive up there won a case against James she wanted to put him in jail and he beat her you know another way she wanted to go after Cuomo and then run for governor herself this woman I mean it's insane yeah and she doesn't have the intellectual capacity to respect the Constitution there's no one more politically motivated in this country than her no and but it's it's on a grand scale and you know that's where we're at and I got some funny videos for you later and I got a story on time you want to do some we still got time you want to talk about EV trucking really quick yeah you know these EV mandates I just interviewed Mike Kucharski again I interview him a lot he's the head of the largest refrigerator corporate refrigerator truck corporation in America these guys are operating on a shoestring they're already going out of business the mandates the health insurance all the stuff that's going on the crazy laws in California you can't have a truck that's more than 10 years old right now it only costs 180 to 200,000 for a tractor trailer only but these EV trucks they're gonna cost over $300,000 do you know that the batteries there's two 8,000 pound batteries in these trucks they weigh 16,000 pounds now most trucks in the United States only have a gross vehicle weight of about 80,000 pounds on the road because the roads can't take it anything more than that so you're gonna lose 20% of your cargo load now you have to stop now a diesel truck has two 150 gallon tanks plus another diesel tank for the refrigeration up front you only have to stop once on an 1800 mile run you get 1600 to 1800 miles with the electric vehicles the most range they've gotten so far is about 377 miles if I'm not correct and every time you stop to charge you use the power of 200 homes from the grid and it takes 10 hours to charge so good luck getting strawberries from California to shop right on Long Island New York in anything less than a week and it's gonna be devastating for the industry and it only takes 20 to 40 minutes to fill up your truck with diesel and you don't create the torque with EV that a diesel can only diesel and diesel is also non flammable Volvo released the line of electric trucks and they're telling you not to keep them indoors because all your other trucks are gonna burn down so what's going on here are mandates that in some states are going to be in as early as 2030 I think parts of California and some of the ports and these guys are already and this guy Mike Kutarsky from JK JKC trucking it's the largest refrigerator truck company in America he drives a Prius and you know he gets 57 miles a gallon he's not knocking innovation but it's got to be market-fed it's got it can't be can't be pushed or mandated it's got to be market driven I mean so you know either works or it doesn't and he's proponent of even hybrid technology but it should incorporate hydrogen but hydrogen is very flammable as well but that's the only thing that can create the torque for a truck so again they're shoving these things down our throat you can't change the laws of physics and we're gonna destroy an already struggling industry yeah all right we'll do some more news with David zero do some more sports with slick Aaron and Fran holding it down as always on a Monday night live from studio 6b and we'll continue to talk about what is going on within this Republican Party and where we go from here okay we got 45 days we got no concessions we got bond all of Biden's agenda still funded for 45 more days and where do we go from there and what is the crux and the core of the problem with the Republican Party we'll get into that we'll get into some other issues as well including this New York case President Trump what happened today is some of the case gonna get thrown out on statute of limitations we'll talk about that as well and Charlie Kirk in our to buy from studio 6b I 13 to the hour live from studio 6b got an email forwarded to me here came in Damon please why don't you make a public announcement invitation demand that Mitch McConnell come on your show and answer dead serious questions about why he is so quiet about the terrible border crisis I dare you to mention this on air and demand the response from McConnell we never hear anything from him on the border David thank you for the email couple things number one you don't have to demand me just talk about it on air if you've watched this show consistently since 2015 since I've done it or since 2020 since we've been on real America's voice I've talked about Mitch McConnell incessantly hundreds of thousands of times about what a political disaster loser wussy he is he will never go on any true conservative talk show not this one not that I'm putting this show in that realm but he would never go on with Hannity he'll never go on with Levin he would have never gone on with rush he'll never go on with Ben Shapiro he'll never go on with Michael Knowles he'll never go on with Dan Bongino he'd never come on with us he'd never go on with Megyn Kelly he'd never go on with anyone he'll go on MSNBC he'll go on CNN he may go on Fox with maybe Brett Baer back when he had when he had it somewhat together but he will do no true conservative show where he'll get any real questions or pushback ever so it's a it's a moot point and again I understand the frustration but it's a total moot point he'll never do any place that he'll get any serious questions or pushback or not allowed to just you know do that for 20 minutes well no so he won't go on shows where he can't do that so it's it's a it's a moot point he's never gonna come on here for many reasons and most a lot of people won't a lot of people a lot of these Republicans won't go anywhere I want to see a Biden Fetterman and McConnell roundtable that's a no-brainer where they're gonna any serious questions none of them will that's why you see the real real conservatives even like I mean they don't have any guests on their show most of the time very few they don't have guests piled up every night because none of them will go there they want to go where they're loved that's why they you know they want to go on MSNBC it's why they take shots at Trump cuz that make the what do you think Chris Christie's on every damn channel 24-7 for that fat bastard cuz he's taking shots at Trump all the time oh let's get Christie on he took another shot at Trump put him on with Jake Tapper it'll be great get him on the view that'll be great that's what they do so thanks for the email but that's this is not gonna happen so Daniel Horowitz today the right has a problem it's not merely a Mitch McConnell or Kevin McCarthy problem it's a Republican Party problem conservatives will never have leverage to fight the issues that matter in any meaningful way until we find a new home that is the stone-cold truth of the matter before we can move forward we all must face this inconvenient reality on Saturday 82% of Senate Republicans 82% and 50% of the allegedly more conservative House GOP conference voted to continue funding every single odious Biden administration policy including destructive inflationary spending for another seven weeks without a single concession in return in doing so they show that they fear the partial shutdown more than they fear anything else that the government's targeting a government shutdown has not been averted because we now face the ultimate government shutdown indefinitely with no strategy or political vehicle to end it Republicans began this year with the most auspicious potential to block Joe Biden's agenda they had the twin leverage points of the debt ceiling the budget deadline whereby they could have refused to grant Joe Biden any more funding for any of his harmful Marxist policies without serious concessions to the Republicans in many respect Republicans had more leverage than ever before because they could theoretically govern with a simple majority in the house while Democrats needed 60 votes to use their majority in the Senate moreover unlike during the ten years of Bill Clinton or Barack Obama Democrats are saddled with an extremely unpopular president who could not command the bully pulpit during any shutdown fight so of course what happened Republicans in June gave Biden a blank check for the remainder of his term by suspending the debt ceiling until 2025 more time than he had asked for the debt has grown quicker than ever before as a result the GOP's final leverage point was the budget and the anticipation of the border invasion gave congressional Republicans the perfect mandate to fight through a government shutdown yet with both of these leverage points Republican leaders showed us that there is no degree of danger in which Biden can place this country in that would prompt them to engage in any brinkmanship whatsoever they wouldn't even go up to the line and allow a lapse in funding for at least Sunday when most government facilities are closed anyway they fear one minute of temporary funding lapse more than they fear inflation debt illegal aliens and the FBI picking off their political opponents you should shudder to think exactly what it would take to shift Republican leaders attention away from the old paradigm everything we have been through these past few years was evidently not enough it's also shocking how Republicans had no problem shutting down the entire country for months yet they zealously clamor to avoid one minute of a partial federal furlough over a weekend what's clear is nothing has changed about this party since the era of Trump began not among leadership not among the overwhelming majority of rank-and-file members if they can't even fight for a few days into a government shutdown over issues like the border inflation debt against this Democrat president and these Democrat opponents they will never fight for us ever we will now suffer through endless inflation invasion at the border war on our energy war on our freedoms political persecution with zero backstop in sight there was quite literally nothing Democrats can do that would seem to elicit a unified righteous response from the Republican Party it's not that they don't have values they certainly care deeply about funding Ukraine it's just that you and I are not part of their value system and that really is the main point now that we can't even wait till 2025 to redress any of the aforementioned crises but nothing will change then either even if Republicans win all three branches with such a maniacal degree of fear of a debt ceiling or budget funding lamps Republicans will never have leverage to fulfill a single campaign promise assuming any of those promises are even a little sincere Democrats will always have enough votes in the Senate to filibuster any GOP budget bill GOP leaders have made it clear that they will never allow the government to shut down not even for a day by definition that means the Democrats will always win a budget fight a hundred percent of the time we need not speculate about the future when in fact this is what occurred when Republicans controlled the trifecta of government with Donald Trump as president McConnell as Senate Majority Leader Paul Ryan is Speaker of the House and as I noted earlier this year Kevin McCarthy was the House Majority Leader and shepherded nearly every budget bill through the floor with more support from Democrats than they had from Republicans nothing has changed from then and nothing will but it's worse than the political math at the federal level in more than 20 states Republicans enjoy control of all three branches with filibuster proof majorities why is it we can barely find Republicans outside of Florida willing to fight on issues such as green energy and illegal immigration they wield dominant majorities in some states to the point where there aren't enough Democrats to populate all of the committees yet Republicans still betray us at some point we have to face the music that the obstacle the reform has nothing to do with the Democrats the Republican Party is the problem more sports news coming up all right hour two nine o'clock on the East Coast real America's voice glad you're in on a Monday October 2nd new week new month lots to talk about lots to do everybody's complaining A highlight from Preventing Terrorism and Illegal Entry: Border Security

"Some of this stuff, like I'm almost speechless. Like I can't just keep yelling about it anymore. And it's that feeling of like, oh God, here we go again. Right. But like, that's what it feels like. It's just a never ending cycle of like disappointment because it's, and again, like it's the simple, like one plus one equals two. Welcome to another Financial Guys podcast. I'm Mike Hayflick along with Mike Speraza. We are actually recording on September 11th. So Mike, we're going to start a little bit with September 11th. We're going to end with Buffalo Bills talk because tonight, Monday night football in New Jersey to play the New York Jets. I always thought that was fun. Yeah. We decided to record this morning in case we have a couple too many pops tonight and we don't want to get in at seven 30, eight o 'clock in the morning. So that's the reason for this one. Hopefully out of celebration, let's not even talk about the other reason we might have a couple more than usual. That's right. That's right. Mike, so September 11th, 22 years ago, since the Twin Towers fell, America attacked. Couldn't stop thinking this past weekend about how united we became after that attack, yet how divided we are right now under this current administration. First, where were you on the day, September 11th? I was, I believe in third grade and I was in school on Grand Island at the time. I remember, not very much, but I do remember the school, of course, and I'm sure your kids, Mike, probably dealt with this if they were in school. Everything was shut down and you had to have your parents come pick you up. They wouldn't bus kids home. I just remember utter chaos, really, is what I remember about it. And it's something I feel like we may never feel again, hopefully, right? Knock on wood, we never feel that again. But it was, and days after it, because we had, I think, a day or two of school off after that, because I believe it was a Tuesday, and it was just crazy watching that unfold on TV. And again, I was a young kid, so I didn't really understand the moment that it was, but it was wild to watch on TV. You see people jumping, you see planes continuing to hit. I mean, it was craziness. Couldn't make sense of it. I remember, so I was a career changer a few times, and that was in the midst of a career change for me to go into teaching. And I was just about to start my fall, which would have been basically my last of three semesters to get another master's in this time in education. And on 9 -11, I had gotten invited to an interview to a nice little Catholic school out in Alma because they needed a math teacher. So, and I got this tip by a Canisius College professor. So I said, hmm, I remember calling my wife, in fact, a few days prior to that, saying, hey, they need a math teacher. And she kind of eyes me up and down, and you know my wife, she's like, hmm. Yeah, you could probably do that. I could help you with the lesson plans and so on. So anyway, I go for the interview on 9 -11, and it's like 7 .30 or so in the morning, and I ended up getting that position. So I went home, and it was funny because Mikayla, my older daughter, was actually only two and a half, just going on, or no, she had just turned three years old. And Maddie, my youngest, was like eight weeks old. And I'm with my father -in -law, who has now passed, rest his soul, wonderful man, Al. He was with the baby and with Mikayla. And I remember saying, hey, yeah, turns out I'm gonna go out and work as a math teacher out in Alma while I'm in school for this last semester. I'll go to classes at night. You know, and we just chatted a little. I walked into the family room, and I see the TV, and I'm like, hmm, plane hits tower. And I'm like, that's crazy. And of course, right away, I think, private plane. You just, you know, small private plane. You hear of these accidents, you know, an engine failure, whatever it was.

Aaron Rodgers strains calf during warmups, sits out first Jets practice open to media

"Aaron Rodgers never made it past warm ups in his first New York Jets practice in front of the media. This is tweaked my calf in the little pre practice condition inside. Decided to take it. Take a vet day. The 39 year old quarterback acquired last month from Green Bay strained a calf while participating in conditioning drills Tuesday. I don't think it's too serious. Rogers watch quarterback drills and remained on the field during practice, but was without his helmet and threw no passes. Rogers, who wasn't wearing a wrap on either calf while he stood at the podium and spoke to reporters was uncertain when the injury occurred. I'm geffen cool

"AP sports, I'm sheck Freeman. I'm at my comeback by the Miami Heat who rode one of the best playoff performances of all time. Jimmy Butler had 56 points, leading the heat to a one 19 one 14 win or the NBA's overall number one seed Milwaukee Bucks. The heat trail by 14 in the fourth quarter. I think this is where all the best players they show up in their show out. And I'm not saying I'm one of those best players. I just want to be looked at, looked at as such. The heat lead the series three games the one. LA Lakers best at Memphis one 17 one 11 in overtime, LeBron James with 22 points, including the driving lamp with .8 seconds left to send the game to OT, Lakers up three games the one. The long awaited trade has happened, Green Bay Packers trade Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets for multiple draft picks. NHL playoffs Toronto erased of three gold deficit in the third period and beat Tampa 5 four in overtime. Seattle even its series with Colorado at two games apiece after a three two overtime win. Las Vegas defeated Winnipeg four two to take a three two serious lead and New Jersey, even at Ceres with the New York rangers at two two, a three to one devil's win, the devil's Jack Hughes is pleased they were able to win both games in New York. Yeah, you could call it that was hockey, but you know, we got the one and we had a lot of belief in the room that we'd get the second one tonight. So now we're really in this thing in two two and we're really excited with where we're at. Baseball. It'll play Colorado defeat at Cleveland 6 nothing Cincinnati beat Texas 7 6 to snap a 6 game skid. Seahawks keep playoff hopes alive with win, eliminate Jets

"The Seattle Seahawks kept their playoff hopes alive with a 23 6 win over the New York Jets. Gino Smith passed for 183 yards and two touchdowns as the seahawk snapped a three game losing streak. Obviously, we hit a rough patch and it's not what we want, but we still got a shot. And so what we can control is winning next week, another tough opponent. But all we can do is control what we can control and look at the situation at hand. Kenneth walker added 133 rushing yards for Seattle. The jets committed three turnovers to drop their 5th straight game, which eliminated them from postseason contention.

Panthers' Matt Rhule Is Making a Bid for Best NFL Coach This Season

"I wanna talk about the best young coach football. And it's not necessarily sean mcveigh. It's clear that it's not only an indictment on the new york jets operation. But what you're seeing was sam darnold in the carolina. Panthers is pretty remarkable the knock on darnold out of college there to know with too comfortable wins but the knock on darnold out of college and i watched every snap was his accuracy issues. What does he completing now. Seventy percent of his throws. He doesn't make mistakes total composure. It would be easy to just say. This is an indictment on the jets but instead of just the negative side. Let's look realistically at the positive side. Not only has met rule made darnold more comfortable. This defense has twenty one quarterback hits and ten sacks in two games. What does that tell you. The culture of the carolina. Panthers is headed in the right direction. It also tells you. This is a remarkable stat on matt rule. The coach carolina going back to the beginning of last year. You will not believe this. Carolina leads the nfl with the fewest. Three and outs that with teddy bridgewater and start with. Sam darnold. nothing about that not mahomes. Not lamar jackson. Not tom brady. Not derek carr not matt ryan not russell wilson not aaron rodgers. No the fewest three and outs matt rule. Teddy bridgewater and sam darnold but this is a offensive line. That outside of right tackle graded poorly left. Tackle all the way to right guard. What matt rule is doing with this sub optimal often. It's of line. The scarce number of three out the revamping rebooting of sam darnold is really mind-blowing

Sam Darnold Rumors: San Francisco 49ers Offered First-Rounder to New York Jets

"Report out that the forty niners earlier this offseason offered the twelfth overall. Pick the jets for sam darnold and the jets said no Who is dumber the jets for saying no or the forty niners for offering them. I actually don't think. I think the niners weren't at all i think i don't think either team side was dumb. Tom i think the jets side is no. I don't think either decided well. I'm very quick factor. Here this is. This has been debunked. Oh yeah very quickly while jerry thornton. It was still the number one blog on the site as far as when the down within a half hour. Now if it were real at actually understand it from both sides because it in is like the one dude. I don't think he'd want to trade your quarterback too 'cause he'd make him good and everyone's like you guys suck even more. Yeah but if if you're already done with sam darnold and you're you know you're drafting would looks awesome. You can't think that you know. Listen tom if you're not a team that's trying to win a super bowl. You gotta just era walk in football team or don't there half the fun of a trade is looking up how the guy you traded does and hoping that poorly divorces sucked believes earned ever seriously what are they in. "Gonna move on briefly to addition watson because you know what we promised. We'll give you the shawn watson update every day and we will do that because it changes every day. What number we now here. A colonic sixteen. Yeah it is. What's fourteen lawsuits. Isn't it to. Because the time this thing drops people listen numbers rate in this situation. I think at this point where We're past the point of needing to get the data on the information now at true affords like we're at. Are you a predator or not zone. Like that's i don't know. I haven't read a the guy in the houston. Chronicle his name wilson yet. Yup does he still think sixteen are lining up to make a deal. How silly was that premise. That people still want to trade from no one would trade anything form. They wouldn't take him for nothing. The miami dolphins new york jets new england patriots niners broncos. None of them would take to shawn watson for nothing. They didn't win. Give you a thing for the shawn watson because this guy has a problem. He's not who we thought he was. I'm ready to jump to conclusions and say he was inappropriate with many many women and he had a fetish couldn't just be one or two. He wanted to do this to a number women because he probably enjoyed the challenge. Enjoyed the danger of it. All and today mike florio from pro football taco used to be a lawyer. He's got a piece saying what he would do if he you know because a lot of people ask them. What would you do if he hired you. He didn't hire florio. Had tony busby. Who's either a A lawyer or a the most incredible conman the most credible Shakedown artist of all time. Because he's the one who's updating every day with the number of masseuses who are charging accusing deshaun watson of inappropriate behavior. But but but two things two things here. He gives all this advice florio and it's reasonable. He said he'd sit down and try to get all the women or their representative in a room to make one big settlement trying to make it all. Go away with one big paycheck that they could and they clearly are looking for that because they're not having gone to the cops which brings me to point number two and end to the point where they try to basically extort him out of thirty one of them tried to extort him out of thirty grand in january. I believe i'm not sure that's extortion. If you're saying will agree not to charge you and these are hard working people at working class girls. Maybe who and by way are people like julia to cairo in on people like Niece smelly they waiting to see what race these women are. Because they haven't had much to say about this yet. The Timing of the Deshaun Watson Claims Is Suspicious

"That, the Sean Watson requests a trade. It's been the biggest story of the late winter. Number one story in the NFL, it's been a standoff between the team and him naturally other teams pricked up their ears when a dynamic quarterback like Desean Watson wants to be out. I know the New York Jets were creaming in their pants because they need a quarterback and I don't think he ruled out New York. So they'd be amazing. He's demanding a dream, a trade in the team's not giving it. But here's the thing, guys. The fact that these stories emerged now. In the middle of NFL free agency. When he is the hottest topic in the sport, that's a little more than a coincidence. That's a hit job, I think, on the part of people living in Texas who feels soured by him. Or maybe even by the team who feels pissed off that he's putting them over the barrel like this. Just my Spidey sense doesn't feel right. I'm sniffing out bullshit. Because when you talk about Desean Watson's reputation, the guy has had a pristine reputation. There's never been any noise as they say in sports about him in the league.

"You finally needed me. Dan Orlovsky, the great analyst for the Mothership. NFL Live continues daily throughout the entire off season at four Eastern on ESPN, Catch Dan with Adam Schefter. Marcus Spears, meaning times Laura Rutledge, four. P. M. Eastern daily on ESPN. Dan. Thanks for joining us. Did the Cowboys have a great day? Yesterday? The Cowboys did not Jack Prescott did Jack press cop Doc Prescott. His family did. But this is a big time swing and miss for the Cowboys. I think that they took a calculated risk. You know, they tried to be patient and patient and patient and didn't want to do something like the Rams and the Eagles did. But man, that is a ton of money to give that Prescott What should the expectation Level B for cowboy fans this year? This year. It Luis, You're stuck in second round of the playoffs. Sniffing your NFC championship game, You know, like here's Here's. This is what my comment is with this, and it's the old saying too much is given much is expected. This is why I was very cautious of giving Dak Prescott a ton of money or second most quarterback money. It's going to impact your football team and we can't snow sit here and say, Well, he's really good. But the expectation status, saying the expectations have to be elevated. Not only individually Hey, what are left tackles out. We still have to win the game on the road against the New York Jets because they stink or when we don't have a Mark Cooper. We still got to play good at the position because you're supposed to be And a difference maker. When it comes to the finances. It's a bad division. I still have to wait to see what happens in Washington at the quarterback spot. If they got a quarterback that I thought was a good player arrived. "Whatever, Domino this is going to potentially be It's delicate affect somebody wanted lines with Sam gone in my opinion of the New York Jets, because whatever the price range is going to be that the Bears are willing to give up a Carson winds that may set the market For a guy like Sam Donald forgot like Jimmy Garoppolo for Gallic. Marcus Mariota Bunga. Stay with Sam Donald because we don't know where the Jets heads a rat with a new coaching staff when it comes to him staying there or this organization moving on from him. Let's say the Chicago Bears do a first rounder Ah, third rounder and 1/4 rounder for a guy like Carson wins. Then what is the price going to be like for a Sam Donald? Because a lot of people in my opinion may have a lot more faith in Sam Jonah that he hasn't lost himself. His coach failed him The last couple of years when it comes to Adam Gates, who is no longer the head coach of the Jets. Carson Wentz build himself. You know, he got this Do in the playoffs in 2019 in Philadelphia. If you're willing to give up that three draft choice and maybe a player for Carson Wentz, then what kind of price range may have to go a little bit up for a guy that people believe in a little bit more when it comes to Sam Jonah, who's currently the quarterback of the Jets. I think Wences an outline when it comes to the quarterback market because of You know the way he played and it was more mental than physical. I think the Stafford golf trade Is the one that set the market, Freddy, in my opinion for guys like Sam Donald or anybody else is gonna be on the move. Well, you could because Donald is not damaged goods. The Jets were damaged. Not to me. Not not Sam. Donald Carson is damaged. You know, it's it's between the years that's the most important part. That's the most important muscle. Yeah, that's the most important aspect of playing the quarterback position. Stafford isn't golf Got while accounts golf gotta been lazy after he got paid, Say the same thing across someone s so maybe. Yeah, possibly Freddie. I mean money will change some folks. I never thought I'd see that from the North Dakota State bison. He was extremely grounded. Remember, But maybe he did. I don't know. But what Detroit gave up to get golf and and what the Rams were willing to give up to get Stafford That to me is what has set the market. That's the one where you're talking about. The first the 2nd and 3rd and Player like Jared Goff, a first round draft pick, you know? Four guy like Matthew Stafford, that to me was where the market is set. And that to me is where guys like who aren't damaged because Donald's not damaged that that is where I think other team's gonna be on that kind of level when you when you're looking at the quarterback Carousel, Diana Russini, ESPN NFL reported with shoes on Sunday and go look Junior, she says, Whatever deal happens when it comes to cross the wench. Don't expect that to happen Wednesday, or even Thursday, or even this week. Here we are, You know, a few weeks after that from the regular season and From the rumors and the chatter and even the reporting that we heard that Carson wants out. We know that the Eagles have been shopping him, and here we are on February 16. And there's nothing and every day that goes by that quickly, eagles have any leverage. But every day that goes by works against them because guys remember when the new league year begins, they Oh course. Once 10 million bucks. Didn't wanna say that. I don't know yet. Do you want to get rid of them? So peace is sitting back right now, You know, obviously, we've seen the headlines that heard the rumblings of the Bears and Carson wanted to play for the Colts obviously reunited with Frank, right, So those are two teams that that stand out. But in terms of teams actually willing to give the Eagles the price, they're looking for a just not as robust as Philly would want it right now. I don't see this thing happened. That's you. And she makes you reasonable. Great point. We don't know what the salary cap is right now, until the new league gear begins. You're not going to see players be signed because nobody has any idea what the cap is going to be. We know what's going down. Because of Kovar it for the first time in a long time, it's going down, but these guys, they have no idea what kind of money they do or do not have to spend it. It's a great point by Diana, You're not going to see Got anybody really move big names until the league year begins, and they know what kind of money they can spend because we have that kind of price tag. And everybody knows the price tags that are out there. You can't just go into a situation. We're going to do this right now. And then you really pay the price. If you make the wrong move before you know exactly what the barometer is going to be, especially an NFL 2021 Covert 19. That's part straight talk wireless everything for less on Lee at Walmart. "Throughout that is showing Watson is saying no to the New York Jets were gonna tell you five minutes why, that may be the best thing that could happen to the New York Jets that comes way in about five minutes. The story of the night is AH, hire that is no longer going to happen when it comes to Jacksonville. Adam Schefter, ESPN NFL Inside reported that the strength coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars Chris Doyle, Handed in his resignation. Barely a day after Urban Meyer, the coach of Jacksonville, told everybody this is the guy. I want this guy I'm gonna hire. Yeah, he had that stuff that happened in Iowa, where he was just completely just dogging guys when he was being racist, whether he was being belligerent, whether he was being rude was being a jackass. Whatever terms you want to use Either way, It was not a good situation before I would finally decide to let him go with a one plus million dollar balloon payment to go away. And after that, urban Meyer, who said that he vetted him. He believes in him. He thinks it would be great for the program, not even a day later. Chris Doyle is no longer the strength coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yeah. Ready. This is when we talked about yesterday and it was one where we said, and Leon seriously really went off when we would talk to you later on. Former Jacksonville Jaguars and the the U. Hall of Fame. I mean he, Leon, seriously back in the day was one of the best offensive lineman in the league, and he said, All it's gonna take is one He gives one got the wrong look, says one wrong thing to the wrong guy with his past in history. These are grown men. And it will spread like a cancer through that entire locker room. And he says, the wrong guy to the wrong guy. Wrong thing to the wrong guy. In the weight room. I'll get his butt kicked. Okay, Here we go. And look and I completely agree with him. You agree with we all We all agree. We know the NFL pretty well, when it comes to something that is not college football, urban you are not in Kansas anymore, and you do not have The power of judge, jury and executioner. You have a big boss? Not even trend. Baalke shot con owner of the Jags, and he's got a boss. Well, no. Flip that Roger Goodell works for all the owners, but all it takes a shot kind of call is a Roger, Call Urban But I just did. And I need you reiterate, or vice versa. Whichever way. There's a lot of people urban has to answer to now. You can't go good old boy network. And what did anyway and the resignation? Oh, he did. Oh, yeah. And before I get to the resignation letter, Freddy, Okay. The cherry on top of all means just the backlash coast to coast. On Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The cherry on top. The straw that broke that camel's back to me was when the executive director of the Fritz Pollard, Alliance Rod Raves eviscerated the Jaguars and Urban Meyer with this statement Quote at a time when the NFL has failed to solve its problems with racial hiring practices, it is simply unacceptable. Welcome Chris Doyle to the ranks of NFL coaches. Doyle's departure from the University of Iowa reflected a tenure riddled with poor judgment and this treatment of black players. His conduct should be a disqualifying for the NFL as it was for Iowa. Urban Meyer statement I've known Chris for close to 20 years reflects a good old boy network, and that is precisely the reason there is such a disparity and employment opportunities for black coaches. Quote, end quote. Shot con. Urban Mr Khan's on line one. Yeah. What body that and he should have been hired. I was going to say not for nothing. How do you sell that to your owner and the owner signs off on it? Because Shaq Khan is not ignorant. Shaq Khan is not not knowing. How do you allow as an owner that urban Meyer conscience said You know what? That crystal got? Oh, yeah, that I would. Yeah, I want to give him a second chance. Someone had to sign off on this, and it was the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. There's no other urban mind just kind of slid of involved underneath his door. And then you raided on Friday morning if the owner Jacksonville, not saying he's complicity with urban Meyer But he signs off on these decisions so shot Khan had to a signed off on this decision, and then the public blowback and everything going back against these guys was too much to say earlier. You can't keep that guy, but he had to have known. I don't know He's dealing with oil on this and that and whatever else you have going, I don't know if he knew who Chris Doyle is. You're born of an NFL team. And somebody, And you don't know who Chris Doyle is. Or you don't know who you guys are hiring then that someone using all the shit I don't know. I don't have an answer to that. I have no idea. But I do know this that resignation. I am buying it. I am so forced resignation. I am not buying that that you know the The statement from Urban Meyer saying that Chris Doyle came to them because of the backlash and didn't want to, you know, have any negative impact on what they're building in Jacksonville? Right? That doesn't smell right. It's not pass the smell test to May. I think that somebody called urban whether we'll shot Connor, Roger Goodell or whomever and said. Mm hmm. NOPE. Ain't happening. Get him out of the building. But don't let him in the building. Tell the moving trucks don't even show up. It's not happening on urban had to go to Chris. It's just my opinion. Say Chris Can't do it. Sorry, but we're gonna try and save some face here and say you resign and said that we had to fire you. He's in Fitzsimmons on Freddie Coleman on Freddy and Fitz Simmons on ESPN Radio, the ESPN APP and Sirius XM Channel 88 time a guesthouse by to hang out with us. Here..

"Trader Jenna Matt, come to a live from the rocket mortgage studios when you need an expert, help navigate the home loan process. Rocket can all right. Yes. We got the game on going And yes, I got half an eye on it for you, but we're also doing other things, including trying to look ahead. Who might have their work cut out for them in 2021 is spar is major sports towns go now? You gotta have a minimum of three of the four major sports are next time we're going to stop. It has all that and then some. They've got two football teams, two baseball teams to basketball teams and three hockey teams. So that's why we think they qualify for this conversation because some of my pretty good, but some have major issues. So I'm going to talk all things New York sports with my next guest. Oh, you'll recognize that get name like yours truly a former weekend warrior here on CBS Sports Radio. They do him into the morning gig for a while. These days. He's the morning drive host. Of the Boomer NGO Show on W F A N in New York. I used to see a smiling face live all the time. Now. I gotta watch him on TV with you on CBS Sports Network. Mr Greg Kennedy joins me here on CBS Sports Radio. Are you bi G l What's up, Jody? It's good to be with you and let's speed this up. I gotta get back to the game, man. Come on. We're not even trying to fake anybody out. They won't go well know that these interviews have been pre taped, so I'm not going to ask you for a prediction on the game that would be unfair. Um, do you want to talk about all the New York teams? I mentioned there's some good ones. Yankees made the playoffs doing things okay during the off season Ah, Steve Cohen kind of up and down. Um, the hockey still to be questioned. I think that's gonna take a while, but the football team's just ended up their season. I want to start their first. Because that's where it's not good, and we're leaning toward not good. As of right now Free agency upcoming for both the Jets and the Giants got a brand new coach with the Get Jet, a second year coach in New York. How optimistic are New York football fans if it all in your mind? Wow. I mean, it is a different story of both of these teams right now, and we'll have to see where that destroying Watson story goes for the New York Jets. I mean, I think that the Rob Sala higher for the Jets really created some optimism for the jet then because it was the first time it felt like the Jets fan got something that they wanted now. There was talking. We were joking around. And that's our show about Bill Cowher. Maybe coming out of retirement to coach the Jets, and that got him all excited, But once we got down to the real candidates That were there along the jet. Fans want to rob solemn because of his energy because of his personality because of what he did out there in San Francisco with the defense of the fact that they got what they wanted. There was a major major optimism there, but I think the big problem that's being created when you're talking about optimism and pessimism with the jet vanished. Are they going to be able to? Not have destroying Watson and be happy. And I don't think that that answer is yes. Unless Sam Donald turns into a different person in a different player in 2021, because you'll remember for three quarters or more, probably 80%. Of the 2020 season. Everybody thought that Trevor Laurence was going to be a member of the Jets. He was gonna be the next next Jets quarterback number one overall pick. It was a lot and they weren't winning the game. There was no way and then they end up beating the Rams. Everything changed. And then all of a sudden that Shawn Watson, rumors start after the season and he is the number one. The Jets are number one on his list. Or at least a little bit until the reporting of sort of changed on that of the last couple of days. So you know the optimism. Question with the Jets is, you know if they get the show on Watson, obviously everybody's going to be very optimistic. But what if they don't And then what is the story with the New York Jets note the Giants That was an interesting season last year, it was with odd sort of evaluate because They were much better than they had been. Everybody seemed to really like Joe Judge. They were in most of the games. They had a shot to go to the post season. We know how it ended in week 17. And I think that they're going to go into next year thinking that all right, You know, this could be a playoff team. But once again, you know, it's not cliche. It's the truth. Is, you know what is the quarterback that they have? And do they believe that Daniel Jones could be a quarterback that can take you into the wild card ground divisional round to a championship weekend? And that's the biggest question. I think that they've Answer their questions on the offensive and defensive lines. Get steak one back list next year. I think that your defense is a very, very good defense for the Giants last year. You bringing back a lot of those guys, I think that'll be a good thing. But What is the feeling for the Giants if Daniel Jones is just average, so it's been really, really dark here? I mean, you know Jody, and it's in the dark Ages for New York football over the last number of seasons, but I do think there's more optimism heading into 2021 than we've had here. In a number of years. Let me ask you about the Jets quarterback position. If they get this one, Watson yes, Jack plans will be ecstatic. They'd probably have to pay a rather hefty price. But they'll be ecstatic. Just the same. If Sam Donald is back to there's going to be apprehension, and probably some ticked off jet fans as well. If they used the number two pick in the draft, and there's debate as to who would they best be using it on? I happen to be a Justin Fields fan, but that's just may well that compromise position keep the optimism up with the judge fans. E. I don't think that that's the route. They're gonna go it it may you know, I mean, I think anybody that that is a fan of a team that's been very bad for a long time has been disappointing, You know, ends up getting optimistic about the unknown, and I think that more jet fans would be excited about what that next quarterback could be a supposed toe. Sam. So, yes, but I do think it'll be a little more optimism on. Maybe there's some optimism. It stands a quarterback. I just I don't see it. I mean, the rob solid press conference in some of the points that he made in the interviews at that press conference were good ones, You know, because Michael floor, who's gonna be the offensive coordinator. And that system has turned average quarterbacks into above average quarterbacks in has turned careers around like Ryan Tannehill's And has made guys like Jimmy Garoppolo and Jared Goff in $200 Million quarterbacks when they maybe aren't even that good. So, but, yeah, I think that to me it's gonna be too Shawn Watson or it's gonna be Sand. Donald. I don't see them. In the draft going quarterback at this point. Obviously, we still have a couple months to go on that to change, But I would be very, very surprised if that number two. They ended up drafting a quarterback. It's either gonna be it's gonna be devised.

"Your dose of independence and liberty every weekday right here with Sean. 25 to the top of the hour. 809 41, Sean, are we gonna do this later in the program, But I feel like doing it now. John in Los Angeles. What's up, John? How are you? Sean Patrick Kennedy. God bless you. And I have about my Irish brother. What? You know what tonight is a seven course meal is, don't you? I do indeed. Just give me the Brussels sprouts in the cabbage, and I'll be fine. Not exactly a six pack and a potato. It's horrible. I can only say that because I'm 100% Irish good. One of the few one ancestors ever came back 100%. E just want to talk about the Super Bowl. I'm going all the way for the for the cancer chief. I'm a big Steeler fans would stop to say this, but the chief may have the best team of all types. They look great. I don't in my head tells me and I don't want to give it all the way Now we'll do more later in the program. My head tells me you're right. My heart tells me man, Brady winning just pisses so many people off. It makes me laugh. And I'm predicting for close game But Brady I mean, this would be number seven, his 10th trip to the Super Bowl That's insane. Mahomes. Kelsey, You're looking at some franchise players and I love the story line on quarterbacks and tight ends on receivers is huge for me in this game. It is big time You got this big up incomers who may fight for the goat at one time and to me, I go to his greatest of all time. Exactly. You've got some cheating behind him, and I can't quite give him the best of all time element that exists, and I'm a big Steeler fan. Uh, on, I know that we always change a place and calls for the game when he would come in. Because we know what they did. Mental, That's always going to take my experience for the Patriots. You know, I totally hear you The remember the flight gate. I mean, good grief, like I just hope we keep politics out of the game. But I'll tell you what I love. I love the lead up to this because I didn't really pay attention to the regular season this year. New York Jets had such a wonderful season. I think they won one game, maybe two. I forget. And the Giants didn't do well when they nearly got into the playoffs anyway. But you know when you have a franchise quarterback matchups like Drew Brees, who I love Great guy Brady is Brady and then Aaron Rodgers, who's amazing. He's got a rifle of an arm. Just watching him. Throw is amazing on Brady. And then you got now my homes who already is a franchise quarterback and could win back to back Super Bowls. That's a big deal to write. Huge huge. I think that combination of Kelsey Mahomes is powerful. My head tells me that would edge edge out Tampa but I'm going in Tampa. Tell a preview of coming attractions. You're going to stick with Tom Brady and his luck? Well, What do you mean? It's love. If it's not luck when you win six times. It's not But here, let me let me tell you a little something about Tom Brady. This is how you beat Tom. Great. This is how I've always looked at me. Remember walkie for golf Hungry south One bridge. He was a machine. But once Rocky hit him, and he believes he's that boat. He believes he's just a man and I don't know why these teams haven't figured it out. Yet. All you have to do is hit Tom a couple of times, and he loses his composure. He gets rid of the ball quicker than he should. He runs up with a little girl, but that's every quarterback couple times. That's Ben Watson's burger, your buddy. I'm telling you, it is every quarter you get enough pressure on the quarterback. He doesn't have timeto. So read the defense and get an open player. He's never gonna have a good game. Under those circumstances. You gotta have a great front line. Never seen a quarterback like Ben take hits and standing there and he could take ahead. No doubt your waist Tough. You will watch Tom Brady. Lynch like a little girl. Oh, man, you get away. I feel like Stephen A Smith. Now this is this is not good. Uh, I listen, I wouldn't. He's hard to bet against. I'm telling you, he is a money pressure player. You know, I love this story that came out of the last playoff game and one of the players was, you know, had tears of joy and goes What's that all about? Stop crying. And the guy's Like What? Because we didn't win anything yet. We have one more game and I'm like, man. That is somebody that is somebody. Completely dedicated to winning. And I admire that part. And you know, why is he hated? He's hated because he wins. He let's be honest. And then people probably handed while he's got a supermodel girlfriend. They probably hate that part too. And you know, people get very jealous and then look, the bottom line is whatever city you live, and you usually support your city team like you love Pittsburgh. It's fine. Um, but it's gonna be I am. I'm fascinated because my home so young, the future's so bright He's so gifted, so talented and I love the to me. This is the gladiator sports that the octagon those of my favorite sports love it. I love people that, you know, take hits. And and fight hard and you know the average careers. What? 3 3.5 years for football player Brett far was on earlier this week with Eric Bolling. Alright, thanks, John. All right. I'm tempted to stick with us A little Daniel, Georgia. What's up, then you'll how are you? The old in with the new I'm a Patrick for home. Chief. Spite stand, John. I agree with you on everything, but that Listen, I I It's not a bad prediction. I mean, my homes is man. He's so talented, so talented. You know what I love about football, though to besides the you take hard hits, and I like, you know, life is hard. We all gotta take hits, Everybody. Nobody in this whole life ever gets a pass. Everybody's got their whatever it is, and it transcends. Um socioeconomic. Everything. I don't care if you're rich. I don't care if you're poor life is going to be hard. You're gonna face challenges in every way. You know, at some point is, Rocky said in this to his son. There's nothing is going to hit harder than life itself. It'll beat you to the ground. If you let it and it's not about how hard you can get hit. It's about hard hard. You can get hit and keep moving forward. And keep moving forward, and that's what living's about. And so I like the fact that you're you're looking at such a tiny fraction of incredibly gifted college athletes that ever make it to the pros. Your average career span is a little over three years, not very long. And they do it for the love of the game. You know more of a baseball phase. That's what they did before. And they put their heart and soul into it. Like I watched guys in the octagon. On Douin in the Octagon. We'll get Rhonda Rousey. And you know what do you get that one or Chuck Liddell? You get that one knockout and it forever alters your ability to fight to the level you did because you got hit so hard. You got knocked out. And it's Ah, but they're they're warriors of gladiators. A tough everybody. I don't care what position player even if your kicker you could get even get decked in football. Do you think? E? I agree with you? It's gonna be interesting to watch is gonna be close. All right, then you Mike, Ohio. What's.

Kansas City Chiefs running back start of the year in Iraqi relationship with the New York Jets, battling injury and playing for a coach that just never seemed to want him there in the first place. Now he's competing for a Super Bowl ring. Jets cut the talented running back earlier this year after they failed to find a trading partner for Belle. And days later he signed with the Chiefs with his new team, Bell has become a role player recording double digit Carrie's just choice for the Chiefs this season. We have a really good chance of winning. So we just have to build that mentality in that mine. Every single game, which I think tonight was really distraught. Why 10 Super Bowl Appearances Won't Satisfy Tom Brady

"Hey thanks for joining me man. Good to be here. Seth wicker sham is a senior writer at espn and he's covered. Tom brady since his rookie year in the nfl. Words with you. Seth you are. Espn's resident. tom. Brady you've been covering brady for nearly twenty years. I believe at this point. You're the first person to report. That brady was looking for a way out of new england back when that was on thinkable and honestly kind of dangerous to suggest in the boston area. But your piece out. Today ahead of. Tom brady's tenth super bowl in tampa bay with the buccaneers. It actually begins a decade ago back in new england. What happened a couple years ago. I was in tom. Brady's house and we were in his living room and he was telling a funny story about bill belichick. It was a saturday morning meeting before a game against new york. Jets and bella. Check was watching film of mark sanchez. Running out of the pocket rolling to his right players it is heels and he had a wide open receiver about sixty yards downfield on the opposite hash. So that's an almost impossible. Throw to attempt. I mean few quarterbacks ever would try that throw even fewer would complete it and the way that brady told it to me. That ballot check was just watching the play unfold and he was like just throw it. He's wide open. Why isn't sanchez. Throwing the ball and brady's little thought bubble was hilarious because he was thinking. I would never even attempt that throw. Do you have any idea how i would look in. Tried to throw that ball. And meanwhile checks just like can't get even more open. He can't get more open. Just throw it in. The way that brady explained to me later was very interesting because he said i see each play within my limits at the time. I didn't really see the significance in that statement. But when you watch. Tom brady now aged forty three years old and the entire sporting world asking how. He's done it how he's been able to get another team to the super bowl. I looked back at that statement. And i found a lot of answers in it was brady frustrated with ballot check. Invalid check suggested as much. I wanna get deeper into. Brady's thought bubble there. I think he thought it was hilarious. He he saw it as a defensive coach who had no bearing on the reality of how difficulties throw that ball. He wasn't frustrated with ballot check. He was like a little amazed that bella check thought that that type of pass would be so easy i mean. That's that's a john elway throw. That's josh allen throw mahomes through. There's very few people who could ever even try that and here. Ballot check was talking about mark sanchez. Saying he's not going to get more open than that. Just throw the ball. As kind of an indictment on the quarterback where brady saw it as you know something that was hard to believe. Couldn't believe that that his coach thought that a throw like that with that easy. And when you look at tom brady look at the arc of his career. He's someone who's kind of always understood his limits and by understanding them so well he's found a way to transcend them so those limits that he has this keen understanding of and that being this superpower. It is something that we can. Plainly see in contrast to josh allen and john elway and patrick mahomes and lamar jackson. These absurd physical talents. And that's been clear set ever since we saw brady with shirt off to be honest at the combine in two thousand but because he is also the greatest of all time without real serious dispute at this point playing more super bowls than anyone ever by far at to ask if you fully buy his explanation that that superpower is in fact and understanding of his own limitations. At first i didn't. And i remember. I was once in his house in two thousand thirteen back when we thought he was getting old. 'cause he was going to be thirty seven when the season started. And you know he can't play forever and he said something really interesting. He said there's nothing that will be able to replace football. And hopefully it gets to appoint where there is when i retire in nine ten years and he said it so offhandedly and so smooth that it was it went right over my head. It was a shot across the bow. Here was a declaration to play until he was aged forty five and he someone who has made a mockery of conventional wisdom. And so i thought there is no way when he said that that he was someone who learned how to play football within the scope of his own limitations. But as you watch him play you actually see it on the field. And i think that it helps define him as a football player because he can't do what aaron rodgers does. He can't do it. Patrick mahomes does these sort of amazing acrobatic throws but what he can do and what he's always been able to do is pick apart a defense and bleed teams to death. And i think that that's what he was getting at when he talks about playing within his own limits because he's so deadly an accurate when he throws short.

"So the new coach of the New York Jets is not the only thing knew about the organization, a new oldest taken power once again, meaning Woody Johnson. What does this mean for the judge in the future and maybe a certain quarterback that's out there named Shawn Watson. Recording reports may want to ply his trade with the Jets, and not with the Houston, Texas any longer. Just bring my marriage. Samina does a great job at ESPN NFL Nation. Just reporter he has known Freddy and Fitzsimmons, Richmond start Woody Johnson pretty much saying it's back to my being my team Now I had it over the political world. I'm back to being charged in the New York Jets. What this is really mean for this organization. Well, what he's done with London and his ambassador roll and he's I'm a little surprised that he's back so quickly. I mean, we all knew he was coming back, but he didn't waste any time. I think he landed in the United States. A couple of day actually was last Thursday, and today he was tweeting up a storm, saying he's back. He's met with the new coach. And away we go and what he's been out of touch with the team for four years. We're really bad years for the Jets, I might add, and now it'll be interesting to see if he exerts his influence. I wrote this yesterday on ESPN dot com. He's always been known as an owner who likes to make splashy moves, especially at the quarterback position happens to be a couple of really good quarterbacks. Looks like they'll be available this offseason, so that'll be a really cool Storyline to follow. How much will he be involved? Because you mentioned being back in terms of day to day and splashy hires how much she really going to be involved with any decisions that Joe Dogs, the general manager? The new head coach Salah are going to make regarding the New York Jets, whether the shot watch is a part of this team or not. I think what is not a hands on owner. At least he never was. During his 1st 17 years of ownership. I think he'll let his football people make the decisions. Obviously, they have to run it past him because he is the boss. I mean, he's the guy who's signing the checks, so to speak. So they'll run it past him. And, you know you hope that he left the football people do it, because if you these air complex decisions that involved so many different things. Salary cap. You know what the rest of the league looks like The trade market. And hopefully he lets Joe Douglas do that. But I do know in the past, he has I mean, he was the guy behind the Tim Tebow trade in 2012. He just became fascinated with Tebow and wanted to Bo and Mike Tannenbaum is GM at the time tried to make his boss happy, and he went out and got Tim Tebow and it turned out to be a you know a brutal decision for the Jets, But so what do you let his football people do it? But you know, every once in a while, he could drop a hint and say, Boy, this Shawn Watson Guy looks pretty good in Houston. Rich Cimini. He has been NFL nation just report on Freddy and Fitz Simmons on ESPN radio. The ESPN happens as in China, 80, and we know that If you're an organization like the Jets, Any move you make is gonna be scrutinized. You look at the Super Bowl game involving the Buccaneers and also the Cassidy chief. You got top bulls from the Jets coach of its coordinated the Buccaneers inexorable Steve McLendon, former just defensive tackle in the Super Bowl. Vivian Bell in the symbol for the cancer. You cheat on the Jets, dime and all these guys were really cast aside by the organization. How much of that has played into the mind of Woody Johnson thinking that he has to re establish control to make sure these kind of moves don't continue. Yeah, well, I think would he is the kind of guy you know, want to get things on the right path, And while he's been gone, and I'm sure he's been suffering in his castle in London Watching from afar as the Jets have really been a laughing stock over the last three or four years under his younger brother, Christopher Johnson. So you would think he'd want to come back, You know, guns blazing or checkbook blazing. Whatever the case may be. Try to get some talent in the building and the names you mentioned. Freddy. Look, Todd Bowles is a really good defensive coordinator. He did a fantastic job yesterday. At Lambeau Field. His defense was awesome. But you know, he was not a good head coach for the Jets. I know working on his balls, but I think you know he was what 20 games below 504 years. And lay beyond Bel he's done. I mean, the Jets got rid of them because he was not a productive running back, and his salary was enormous and is seen with Kansas City. He really hasn't done much. Steve McClendon. You know That was another situation when the Jets got rid of a guy during their fire sale, and Steve God bless him. He's a great leader. I'm happy for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires after this year, but he was at the end of the road and the Jets were able toe. Extract That ticket was 1/6 round draft pick in the 22 draft. So I don't blame the jets for those guys leaving, But I do think that would he will try something to get this on the right path, and it may send around the two quarterbacks. We know the one that John Watson unhappy in Houston and the lines and Matthew Stafford. They're going to part ways. What do you think the Jets will lean to in terms of it. We're going to move on from Sam. Donald. We have to go with this guy. Don't think match. The effort is Fit for the Jets, and I'd be surprised if they went after him. He's 33 2 years left on his contract with 43 million. He's perfect for a team that's in contention like the 40 Niners or the Colts or a team like that, or even Even the Steelers, not the Jets. The Jets are starting over. They need a long term answer I quarterback so I don't think it will be Stafford. Now. That's why Watson is so intriguing because he's on Lee 25. He's barely hit his prime. He's got so many good years ahead of them, and he's under contract until 2025. So that's why he is such a compelling possibility for the Jets. I think and I've I've said this I've written it. They should absolutely go after him and tried it. Seriously. Go after him. Not just dipped their toes in the water. But use all this draft capital to try to get him. Will they.

"It has certainly been a few weeks. Yes for national politics. As I conclude my term as the 45th, president of the United States, we not only dream we do We not only see what has been We see what can be to hell. We must remember. It's hard sometimes to remember, but also for a lot of sports teams in our region. There have been big moves in basketball, baseball and football. Wi See Jim O'Grady broke down the Big New York sports News for the latest episode of Consider This. It's a news podcast by NPR and W and my see here he is in conversation with Danny Lewis. Okay, Jim. There's been a lot going on with New York City's teams, so let's spin through a few of them. You ready? Yeah, let's go. All right, Let's start with one of our football teams. The New York Jets after a dismal season, they have a new coach. They do have a new coach. His name is Robert Sala, and he's the first Muslim American head coach in NFL history. And he has a very hard job. That dismal season you refer to the Jets started out on a major losing streak, and then all they had to do was continue losing. If they had finished last, they would have gotten the first draft pick, But the Jets can't even lose right. Another thing owner Woody Johnson, he's the heir to the Johnson and Johnson pharmaceutical empire. He has returned from England. Where he was Donald Trump's ambassador to the United Kingdom, and now reports are that Woody Johnson, owner of the Jets, is going to be more hands on with the organization. That's probably not good because Johnson is a plutocrat, who has presided over one of the most dismal and failure filled franchises in all of American sports. And now what is he going to do? He's going to doom or of that. So I'm very sorry. Jets fans. I'm very sorry for you. All right now, second question and number one on a lot of basketball fans. Minds has got to be the Brooklyn Nets new lineup, right? Yeah, it's amazing. The Nets pulled off a 14 deal to land 31 year old shooting guard James Harden. ESPN is called him the NBA's best scorer since Michael Jordan, although to you know, prime away from the Houston Rockets, where he was unhappy, the Nets give up two very good players and their first round pick in the next seven. Drafts. But you know this has become a major tactic for teams that want to take their shot at the championship. They pack the superstars together on one team, and they try to go for it. All right now, So now the Nets have harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, three of the best players in the NBA. What will that be enough for them to get to the finals where they'll face Let's say LeBron James and the Lakers. Maybe. All I can say is Brooklyn wants a championship ring. The Nets are trying to get it now. All right, let's go to baseball. This week, The New York Mets fired their general manager, Jared Porter, just days after ESPN reported that in a previous job, he'd sent dozens of unsolicited texts and lewd photos to a female reporter. That seemed to happen really fast. What do you make of it? And and also, what does that shake up mean for the team going to spring training? Yeah. What can you make of this? This is a terrible story on dim. It's they did the right thing they fired in order immediately. He harassed a woman in 2016 while he was working for the Cubs, and there's obviously There's just no excuse for that. Before the scandal broke, though Porter was seen as this savvy baseball guy with an eye for talent. And a grasp of the advanced statistics that more and more rule the game of baseball. So he was touted as part of this new era for the team until his downfall. The Mets recently got a new owner, They got their own plutocrat in billionaire hedge fund manager Steve Cohen. On. He came in promising to spend money on really good top flight players, which Mets fans are not used to from the previous regime. And then this Porter scandal sort of knocked all that off kilter so all the team can do is try to go forward. Assembly is good a team as they can and try to win on the field. And I'm just now realizing how many of our teams only have one letter difference in their name. That's Jets Mets, baby. Before I let you go. We got to talk about the Buffalo Bills game on Sunday. They're trying to get to the Super Bowl for the first time since the early 19 nineties. Any predictions all say is the Jets and the Giants won eight games altogether this last season. The Buffalo Bills. 1 13 games. Five more games. They are in a major role, and this might be their year. They haven't tremendous quarterback in Josh Alan. And don't be surprised if they make it into the Super Bowl and even win the whole thing I say. Go Buffalo bills. That's W in my sees Jim O'Grady in conversation with Danny Lewis. Huh? Good evening, everybody. You're listening to W When my C.

"I'm John Marks. You call me Johnny marks a zoo. We get to know each other. I like the Oh, that's a see. Now I feel that's my walker. That would be my walk up song right there. Over. Hey, now, Connor Green. A bit more of an edge. Little more edgy. Not so, Poppy. Yeah. I mean, listen, there's a time for Poppy, but I'm a big big Hendricks. Guys appreciate that. Shawn's coming up here at the top of the hour, but we want to give you the my picks for the game. Coming up here today. But also we had to do a NFL coach tracker right because that's what it's all about right now is eyes exactly if you have a few of the team that still needs a coach. And you're wondering every second. All right. Who are they gonna hire? It's so important, right? I know in baseball. I mean, how important is the manager? The players are more important. Sure. The manager contributes to a couple of wins. But what we're talking about here, you're talking about a winner, Two or three or four. I suppose that if he just had like an average manager right in basketball talent wins, Sure, great coaches matter. But talent wins, right, the NFL, really. You look at it and said they have the They have the biggest the biggest responsibility as far as a coach manager, whatever and they have the most power as far as making or breaking their team, And I think we've seen that over the years. So hiring a coach is so so important. So let's go over who's going to be hired and who is hired and let's start with the New York Jets kind of kind of Greene's New York Jets Robert Solid. They signed. They They hire and he had two interviews. And then he went he hired with Philly He interviewed with Philly And then he came back up and he took the job. I think it's an excellent higher. Think exactly what they needed is what they got A leader of men A true character and everything else coach he is. I mean, you start with culture in the NFL, and I know that it's always great to get that next great young offensive mind. But where were the Jets have been for so many years? I think it's really important that you kind of start over with culture. And I think Joe Douglas, their GM is a guy that very much is into that and Robert solid will be A guy that taken certainly lead on to be their leader. And that's most important, the most important to me for the Jets job, So I think it's an excellent higher. They look at it. Michaela Floor. Who is Matt? The floors, Little brother? To be there to be their offensive coordinator so solid being a defensive coach, the offensive coordinator job becomes very important because he's going to run the offensive called the place, so I think the Jets did very well in their hirings. The Jacksonville Jaguars very interesting with urban Meyer and they hire urban Meyer. Um I think it's like the problem and I really like that. And the good things about her admire is he'll step in from Day one, and he'll establish a winning atmosphere and a culture that is winning. He knows how to win. And it's not just about offense. It's not just about defense. It's something that he's done in every stop of his collegiate career, and I expected to continue in Jacksonville. Urban Meyer is an excellent football coach, and he's not gonna have to call the plays..

I got one more hour here before I gots to roll out, And obviously, some of the larger news of tonight has revolved around the NFL. And not necessarily the teams that will be playing over the weekend and the divisional round of the playoffs, but more so on the coaching side. The New York Jets, the latest team to go ahead and announcer. Head Coaching addition, a new head coach Robert Sala. From the 40. Niners is the new coach of the Jets. I think he certainly He looks like a damn good coach to me. In the New York Jets have a whole lot of questions now. What do you do with Donald? What do you do with the second pick? What do you do in free agency? The team has soul many holes to try to figure things out. In an earlier in the evening. The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they have officially signed Urban Meyer. We saw the fancy photo tweeted out and shared on all social media, urban mind sitting there signing his contract and as quite a few of our callers wanted to point out Hopefully, he doesn't bail. I think things will work out. Hope he can stay healthy. This is a perfect situation for any coach in the NFL. Anybody who would want a job in the NFL the two best jobs available. Jacksonville Jaguars Because you'll have the opportunity to select Trevor Laurence, You'll have plenty of cap space. You have a young roster, which is not going to do anything but get better. And you got multiple picks. Not just Trevor Laurence. They got like four picks in the top 45. The other good job the Chargers. Why? Because you have already made Justin Herbert. You have Ah, defensive squad where I hope guys can come back and stay healthy next year. Hello, Darwin. I hope you stay healthy next season. And Yeah, they would have been a better squad. If you know Lin wasn't blowing games with poor clock management skills. Some of the other head coaching jobs that still happen to be open. You have the Falcons. But who knows? I would expect them to pretty much go ahead and add a coach sooner than later. They just picked up Fontinot from the Saints to run the team. Let's see who they bring in. So coach. It. Plenty of conversations, and we just we just heard from Don, say, Jackson of the Panthers, and he was big enough. Joe Brady. You know, there's a connection between Joe Brady. In France, you know from the saint, So let's see if that happens. The lion's head coaching position is there. The Texans. You probably want to run away from that job to Shawn Watson wants to run away from the team. You have the Eagles. That seems like another disaster. Maybe Howie Roseman can now add his third coach, and you know, he can maybe out of fourth in a few years. He looks like a guy who's never gonna lose his job. This kind of takes me into a different space. Because I want to talk to you about a head coach who came on Four years ago. He was hired almost exactly four years ago at the age of 30. Sean McVey. And Sean McVeigh. Is going to take on the Green Bay Packers in the first game this weekend. In the divisional matchup. The Rams will be in Green Bay, so open up football this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. And we can take a look at at what's happened and And what's going on. We know the Rams just beat the Seahawks last weekend in the wild card round 30 to 20 at this point in time, Aaron Donald London Floyd the entire Rams defense, they probably know Russell Wilson's blood site. You probably know what he likes to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They're all up in this man's business. The Seahawks are disaster. Brian Schottenheimer is now gone. And the Rams move on. And the Rams. If you haven't paid attention throughout the course of the season, you probably know this. This is the top ranked defense in the NFL..

Rams Tom Brady NFL Trevor Laurence New York Jets Dante Jackson Jacksonville Jaguars Saints Seahawks Panthers Drew Brees Joe Brady Aaron Donald London Floyd Tampa Bay Buccaneers Falcons Urban Meyer Don Google New York Mets Russell Wilson

"27 Merrill Hodge joins us in 40 minutes We'll talk playoffs with him. We'll talk quarterbacks with him. We'll talk about the whole ship. Bang with him. Workers Shoot 12 20 Connor Green. In the hot seat right now, tell America Hi, Connor. What is going on America you have been in hiding. You have been in seclusion in the West Wing. After the Kim and Kanye divorce, have you not? I have then I'm very sad about it. It's taking a big toll on my life. But can we're gonna try to move past it and do the best weekend? Is there seriously a celebrity couple? That's that's broken up that has affected you at all in your life. Not that I can think of. I don't understand the people that lets celebrities and their lives affect their lives in any way. What about like? Well, okay. You're a big sports fan, though, right? That's the funny thing. So they are celebrity, So I do let them but I don't let them fireworks. I don't let their personal lives affect my life. That's that's until you just lied to yourself. You did a lot of me. You lied to yourself. What? Your favorite sports team. Tell me Right now you're my favorite sports team is the New York Jets. New York Jets. Mm hmm. Was Plexico burst with? No, He wasn't. Was he? No, he wasn't. So when Rex Ryan started looking feet that didn't affect you, because that was his personal life. It did, but on Lee because it affected the team. If Rex where you go if Rex got, like, a divorce or something like that. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Rex Sucking toes shouldn't affect the team. I don't think the team played worse because Rex was sucking toes there. Know that. No, that doesn't count. That does not count. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You got toes in your mouth. You could still be a good head Coach. You oughta I heard about some of the stuff that Paul Brown was in, man. You should have seen that Holy Toledo, and they want a bunch of Championships back in the day. Chuck Noll was probably just in a wine and find music and the better things in life. I don't think that Chuck Noll was a deviant whatsoever. Just cause Rex Ryan like to suck does doesn't mean that they couldn't win a F C East championships. That doesn't count. But you see where I'm going on that, don't you, Connor? Yes, there is. I don't I I was talking dilution. I didn't lose. You Did that. Connor No bomb here. Okay, Good because I heard a click for a second. Oh, um I heard about it. I go out. I don't care that but there are people who do. They live their life through celebrities, and we could go well, that's really sad and I go. Yeah, but I spent four hours a day talking about football and talking about baseball players and basketball players and people live vicariously through them. It's just the same thing. It really is. It's the same thing. So if you were upset by that divorce, fine. Maybe Kanye will make some fine music again. I don't know. I'm not really affected by there is an interest in the royal family in my household. We had. Liz has an APP on the road crew here and it's nothing but royal family shows. About the Royals. Is that weird to you? Probably is, Yeah. I mean, I I can kind of understand British people loving the Royals. But maybe not Americans on a really understand that It should love all they are. They're basically glorified mascots, are they not? That's it. Really? Yeah. I mean, really, it's just its its like Ohio State fans. Love for Brutus. Buckeye. Bruce Buckeye is just a He's a a thing that runs around as a buckeye that everybody loves. But it has no real allegiance to anything has no real impact on anything you pay for it. You pay for its upkeep. You pay for all the other stuff, but it has no real No real impact on anything else. That's what that's the Royals. It's just a glorified mascot. It's Al. It's the Albert the alligators, Florida. It's the auto the orange over. It's Syracuse. That's that's all they are. That's all they are. And I will tell you, this channel that lives has It's a little It's a little heavy on Henry the eighth stuff. And it's because Henry the eighth was probably the most salacious out of them, so there's an interest there. And that includes Prince Charles. So you know we're being pretty salacious, but I'm like, okay, I get it. His leg was basically eating itself and that he ate himself into a grave and he was nasty and had people killed. He's a bad guy. I get it. I don't know how much more I need to see on Henry Lee it that's all. Don't know why we went down there, but we did. Do you ready for workers Shoot coming up on 12 20. I'm ready, Ken. You damn well better be all right enough of the chewing the fat the great Khan to green joining us one o'clock. PM Eastern. There's three teams in the playoffs and I'm excited about there's three teams to the playoffs. I'm really, really nervous about also 1 20. You know where I'm from? You know who my favorite football team is? And I've talked to a lot of you fine folks for a long time. It's actually a short amount of time. But I've gotten that. I think I've got to know some of the fan base is out there pretty well. Especially in the Boston area, especially in New England. We have a lot. We have a lot of good, strong, loyal listeners in New England who are very, very good to me, and I do mean that sincerely, who has set personal notes, and I've been very thankful for those And for a long time I've dreamed about it and I finally get to live that reality out and it made before it might be for 60 minutes. It might be forever. I have no idea. But I get to live.

"The New York Jets have officially fired Adam Gaze via ESPN. Adam Schefter case has shown the door and obviously now they're looking to the future of both the quarterback and the head coaching position. They're looking for a new head coach, and they have the number two overall pick. E mean, let's be honest. If I ever wanted to make my foray into being an NFL insider, I could have broken that news myself pretty confident that happened in some point or another. Adam Gates is out with the Jets nine and 23. After two years. He was 23 25 with the dolphin. So if he wants to go ahead and ruin the bills and the Patriots, he could make it a clean sweep in the NFC East. Let's keep John J will give in. Presented by progressive Insurance. All of our guests this morning will join us on the Goodyear hotline, including Adam Schefter, who broke that story. He'll join us this morning at 7:45 A.m. Eastern the Monday after the Sunday of the regular season, concluding there are generally a lot of coach firings, a lot of movement in the front office and on the sideline and we'll dig into that without him coming up at 7:45 A.m.. Eastern key, A lucky number 13. The Jets lose those 13 games in a row out of the gate. They finished with two wins. They've got the number two pick in the draft. Jacksonville pick first. It's their first overall number one pick in the 27 28 year history of the franchise. I think we all know where the Jags are going. They once drafted a white kid with long blond hair name Blaine Gabbert. Let's hope that the next white kid with long blond hair turns out a little bit better in Trevor Laurence, but that leaves us that the Jets at number two. They have a quarterback on the roster. Who you says has a lot Scale. Just need some talent around him. And now you're in a position where you could bring in a coach that could maybe get that talent to mesh to get the most out of Sam. Or maybe they decide to move on from saying we understand. You know, you go back and forth with this thing. Obviously, beginning the season I was all in. Sam. Sam. Sam. Sam. Sam Sam, no matter what, Sam And it is the season kind of Came to an end. I'm like, you know, maybe Maybe he moves on. Then I come back to you know, it all depends on what you want to do as a head coach so many times in this league. Your draft position will dictate the narrative about what people think You should be a at a position. Because Sam was drafted so high. The first thing that comes to mind is he's got to throw the football and he's got to be this and he's gotta be that well, if you get a coach in there like a Kevin's to fans Key who understands that who Baker Mayfield is. As a quarterback. And you you have that guy now come to the New York Jets toe. Understand what Sam is is a quarterback me. You're sitting at the number two spot, and I know I know Trevor Laurence once in a lifetime. He's the Greatest quarterback. He's a family guy. All of those things, right you. You, You hear all of that? We was tell me the last time a number one over all quarterback outside the Mannings. Won a Super Bowl. You gotta go all way back past the manning brothers to maybe get Detroit man, right? And and so when you start to look at it Yeah, if you bring in the right head coach toe understand who you are zooming as a player and what your strengths and weaknesses are along with Joe Douglas. You may not have to move on from Sam. Because if you look at What they figured out in Cleveland with Baker Mayfield. We don't need four wides and shotgun formations 75% of the time to win football games. We need a running game. We need a defense and we need our quarterback. To be better than a manager. Can't Sam do that? If I'm a confident offensive coordinator and brilliant mind, can I get him to do those sort of things are do I want to play five wives? Four wives throw the ball all over. You're not gonna win in the National Football League doing that. What team outside of Kansas City, which still has a running game as well as Green Bay. That's balance as well as the New Orleans Saints, this balance as well as the Rams that's balance Seattle's balance Tampa Bay's balance. He's throwing the ball all over the lot. So you get a balanced situation going? You stick with that quarterback. You take that number two pick. And you dangle it out there for some suckers to go get a quarterback that they think is the next The next. That's what you do. I would say this juvenile, you know, Joe Douglas. Obviously you have enough time to make that evaluation on where you think Sam Donald's feature will be, But nobody's is not a lock that Trouble. Lawrence is going to the Jaguars. I mean, you kind of situation which Ryan Day becomes the head coach for the Jags and all of sudden, Justin Fields could end up becoming number one pick and you have to be fluid You have to, you know, just on the fly if the Jets end up Having a chance to drop the guy like travel or it's. The one thing I will say is regarding to Sam's fifth year option for 2022 right, he'll likely be it would likely be more than 25 million. That seems highly unlikely that they would commit to give Donald that considering his inconsistent play. So the main question is so with Donald playing. On that. Finally, users contacted. You were to bring him back. He could put the Jets on the hook for a big contract in 2022. If Donald plays well or losing him for nothing after that season because his trade value will be gone so My thing is fluid, but they're guys out there like Justin feels. There's guys out there like Zach Williams. Zach Wilson, who if you if you don't want to pay the money down the line for San Donald, if you don't think he's the guy Think you obviously put a rookie quarterback in the situation with the rookie contract and you go out and get better assets to surround him to build towards the direction your head coach wants a go If you are worried about the money aspect of it the guarantee money kicks in. If Sam Donald's herd in the fifth year option you don't have to dress the fifth year option into the spring time, all those guys whether it's Josh Allen, whether it's the Mark Jackson Baker Mayfield any of those quarterbacks in that class That got drafted in the first round, Fifth year options coming to play in the springtime and Mike Tannenbaum will be on with this Charlie at 6 30. We could certainly ask him about the fifth year option. And then when you take a look at what that is for, Sam, you say OK? Here's where Joe Douglas in the new head coach kind of gets in a little bit of a pickle. If you move on from Sam and Sam, go somewhere I don't know. Just do a team out there. San Francisco. Okay? And he turns into Ryan Tannehill. Oh, and then you draft Trevor Laurence or Zach Wilson. Or are Justin Fields or any quarterback this floating around out there that you think? You like and he turns into 10 couch. Now what?.
