"The as far as from a mental emotional or even a physical or financial state he was just not a very well person and all it took was a push by you think and I think that's what it does a great job in doing all right cool well final verdict score Kinda number out of ten here odd number out of the press me on that again I can't say whether a liked or Lyndon liked the film per se I think I experienced it would probably be the best way to say it I think I'd probably go very end with a scene that just it's one of those things where a two minute scene can ruin the entire movie for someone and I can see that happening but in this case as I think it just brings it down a notch side probably say between eight or nine things a very good film I don't know People WanNa consider it a great film or the best movie of the year I'm not sure even if that qualify for me as the case may it may not I may have to watch again I mean like it even more but I tell you what right now the joker is a movie I think title I don't WanNa say they need but they think of this the joker is movie people should experience if they really want to get a a great synopsis of character that the texture what are your thoughts out there on the joker we'd love to hear from you want to hear your thoughts on on if you like the movie if you didn't like the movie or if you're like me pop culture Cosmos Humanika Media Game Source on facebook twitter instagram as well we'll coming up next right after the break Jamie Monroy is going to be going ahead and talking about sniper elite three on switch also swell later on we're going to have Jason Todd Feinberg also giving him spoiler review of the joker coming up as well but right after Jamie we're GONNA be talking about New York comic con real quick some of the trailers that came out is there some interest as far as NYC see and everything at brings out while it's not San Diego Comic Con on New York comic con had its own good things we'll talk about that after the break this is the pop culture cosmos for the latest news and information Analysis and opinions on the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA check off the Lakers fast-break podcast today on wherever you get your podcast all right we're back on the show Gerald glass re come right back at you here Mike good friend Jamie Monroy from game source he's here stopping Mida talk about sniper Lee three it's now been ported to the Nintendo switch so as Kim by friend your thoughts is it a good match sniper Lee three and the Nintendo switch is not a horrible match or a bad match at all but the fate of Minto ports be what it may on this one I can say they did not suffer on the multiplayer aspect in which is good for them they needed that strong multiplayer aspect I think for the switch is in my opinion there hasn't been a huge game besides like smash you know more brought that multi-player feel the only problem I have with sniper Lee three ultimate edition on the switch is that it's a it's the same as before you got a port to the switch just like the Oslo and it's the same thing that we've all played three or four times because there's been how many different ports or rehashes or gold editions or ultimate editions legendary missions have been out that we've all played this blinding though with four why they went backtracking to three because I feel like everybody's played three to death including myself I actually just went back and played it on the xbox one not too long before I started playing it it's not a huge issue I do like that it comes with everything out the gate that's great especially the price points at the value for it is amazing includes all the DC it does it does include all the deals see they actually added some new mission so they've got some strength going there is far as they prove their storytelling they can take the original story they had going before and they're anti elements to just there's longer maps more more in depth I didn't get too far into the extras but I did touch on him some and those kind of bringing it to light so another port you were already on that subject everything else it's fine but only because it's been rehashed I feel like it's another blow another sky rim it's being rehashed upon re rushed on rehashed which is fine there's a lot of people that love that game I personally liked it switch because you said there was issue when it docked undocked well with that aspect it was a lot easier to play dot as opposed to UN dot just some of the animations weren't looking as great on the small screen which is to be expected considering you're not planning on xbox one or a PS four it's not going to push the would you played it on those so you kind of have to go into it looking at it that way but I didn't expect to be that big of a difference for me having to dock it and undocumented because I'd wanted more that let me just take sniper Lee with me wherever I go which is fine it's it's okay I frame rate it's touching go very touching go a lot of the enemy stuff doesn't render very quickly is there since when your doctor undocked on the frame rate I'd say a little obviously a lot more than what they would be when you're playing on the smaller screen because you know depending on your TV if it helps it than it will help it but I mean it wasn't horrible just to me not something that I would go out of my way to go nuts over like I said earlier I I honestly think that it should have been more they should have pushed for go with four three I know probably the option we're going with three was one it was probably a lot cheaper option and easier to give to the people switch that come with their what they've added Dan all the deals see so I mean it makes sense for the value and if you have ever played that game ever and you own a switch and you liked that game then I'm definitely not telling you not to play it I'm just saying if you've played it a bunch of times already you may WanNa think about going to different action but it's the only sniper elite actually on the system at this time is that correct that's correct so for that aspect if you haven't played it at all well and you WanNa switch and you want that on the go duck switch fuel go for it I mean right now ours ours the MS RPM so which is it definitely worth it for what they've done with the added stories and all the deals see definite worth if you don't already own it somewhere else so overall your thoughts on it I mean if you want to give it a score right now for this edition on the switch with all the issues but still you know like you said if you haven't approached the sniper elite series so far since it's the only thing available on switch and because it has all the deal see it is a good value in that sense but overall a game for maybe a one to ten score would you give it I'd give them a seven only because your greatest storytelling the game itself if is not horrible I'm not trying to make it out like horrible at all not in any aspect it just has its flaws and that a lot of it is being that it's being pushed backwards I guess I wanna say like it went kind of reverse you went from going to four k. you know on these big systems that can push out graphically to scale it down a tad which affects a game no matter what game it is once again it a sniper lead three it is.

"I think I'm wired for that. So it's it's working out, definitely wired for that. Hey, this is talking about poor to like when the first spectrum that I read from you, I was like, oh, yes, she's got it. This is great. This is this is going to be fine. Thanks man. Your. Once you started sort of buildings world. I mean, you guys have done a great job sort of. It's sort of like pitchy line is a rag tag team of sex workers. Right. My voice over my trailer voices and bring a team of sex workers. You know world in world, but you guys have done a great job of like, yes, they are these sort of these different characters than yes, they're kind of civilians, but like they feel like superhero team some way like what was what was that? Like sort of designing the, the look of them and coming up with that sort of that team. I mean, nobody in safe sex is strictly based on any particular person, but I would say that like collectively the the the can I say, the name can I say names of things? Yes. Okay, cool. So there's talk. Okay. Cool. No, like what's the Margot and what What isn't. is it. So there's, there's like a, there's a rag tag group of sex workers and queers, and just like other. Sex rebels that are collectively known as the dirty minds. Sex rebels is a great band. Yes. And they, I mean, they're, they're based on their community, so it's not like they're individuals that the characters are based on, but like what? What the the characters as like chosen families and as like action adventure team. Which happens under duress sort of in this, like what I based there, the characteristics that they would draw on from the sex communities that I'm a part of and the queer communities that I'm a part of. And just like all of this ex-rebel underground communities that I'm a part of an an also try to. Like as a as a journalist, I'm interested in like. Reporting on the cultures that I'm a part of so that there's more representation of those cultures that's not just like people and safari and yes, so then it was. It was exciting to put it into a comic form because I had you in an ominous to guide me because otherwise I think I probably would have like, I think my approach to fiction initially was like, okay, I'm gonna write a critical essay and about all this, the sexual politics that are important to me and I'm gonna have this character and she's going to have super cool outfit and be right about everything that's me. I know my friends and then I'm gonna have this like ugly character in a dome outfit, and they're going to sail the opinions that are wrong. And then it's going to be like, gosh, titans. You know what? I'm gonna like make them fight. And that's going to be a comic book. And I would read that actually, personally. But then I had some guidance that like maybe people would like like thrills and chills, and mutilations and failure and. Charactered of motion arcs and stuff. So I like I feel like I've got like maestro class in fiction writing, and and it's been, it's been fun, says learning as the fixing the car, it's going. Yes, totally. Totally. Also getting run over by the car. All right, can can I ask a question as like, no, of course. Yes. It's time for free form dialogue as like someone. My last book was nonfiction, do you? I kind of felt like getting back into fiction, nonfiction, digging through dumpsters to find the things that make sense, squishing them together and be like here. This is what this actually was. Whereas fictions like I imagine things. Yeah, it's it's fun to imagine things and then to find out what was in your hand. Well, thank you. You made a good point that rather than being like, here's the good guy and here's the bad guy. I think you've done the the sort of oppressive regime that is in safe sex is it's it's interesting because you as you start to learn more about those characters and their backgrounds to it's..

"I, I like it better to have an arc within one episode of one movie. So I'm I'm kind of like a movie actor and so in in this case, it's instead of a one and a half or two hour movie. It's in our movie. So it's the same offer that. So it's a close story. It's also nice if you have for me for me as an actor to have to have a limited serious. You know, way after all going like from the beginning of the first episode till the end of the last episode, what I'm not a big fan of, but that's also meet personally is stuff where it just goes on and on and on for the sake of going on. You know, because then very clearly. The goal is to to invent something on top of it and at something else. And that's something else because it's a money machine, you know. So this is really fun because it's it's done. It's done with passionate. It's done for for the subject and for the for the love of it, and and we had six grade stories. So we have six great movies, and that's about it. Okay. You know, I just started my acting career if I can talk about a career. So I haven't had the chance to work on a on the whole season. So for me, I really took it as a film. I had to religion the chance to play one of the so my character will start from one emotional points and finished to another states and go through that arc and journey was absolutely amazing for me. So I just worked on its as as I was being taught in school, break down the script breakdown, the character where it on the ark every day on sets nowhere on my and this, you know, arc and try to do my best. So I just, yeah. It was like a film. So thank you again to everybody who gave him the chance to sit down and interview them as short as it was I, it was just cool to be there. I mean, sounds totally cliche, but I had to the table and it was just interesting kind of being part of this. What civil. That's salons. Why aren't you listening to. Oh. Yeah, so it was really cool. So I hope you enjoyed that. Make sure to reach out to the actors or creators and let them know they like, hey, I heard interview hundred buttery podcast. That'd be really cool. I will be tagging everybody who was on those interviews in the show notes. You can follow them be low upcoming things for the about to re podcast. I man, I'm seeing that pretty much actually the day I arrived back in Seattle and like three hours after we get back. Yeah, she had been battling for a couple years silently. Then Vancouver international film festival, they think are going to be sending me some screeners. "Vengeance. The the, the slaughter is big pot of of the episode I'm in. There's six people slaughtered, I'm the detective. There was has been brought into to solve the case case by the way is still not solved one hundred years later. So. But it's a nice little movie about it's me fishing around and trying to figure out what's going on after the show we had. We had bets like, who did it. You know, the director s Pinon. I had another one that, so we went like that. Yeah, so so that's the slaughter. Murder is also part of the show of pre much. Yeah. But thoughts she wants my personal nightmare. Right. Lot of motor going on. The scripts were amazing. They were creepy enough and. And it's it's shots. So Brindley because we also had a lot of freedom don't asset sectors because we don't decide what to do, but. But the director, Chris afraid of, for example, he came to when I interviewed him in the beginning before we started shooting. So what stations? What he was doing? He was like, do whatever we want, you know, which is great. That's really the case nowadays that you can do whatever you want. The only the only rule is has to be good. I was really honored to be telling a true story. A legend itself. The fact that if you go to practice day and ask people about the curse of the yellow sh, you will hear to one hundred different version, easy. And so I had that script that for me was the true legend. The story that we will be telling and. And yeah, it was. It was it was more the historical part and we wear in Prague. So for me, it was a luxury and the privilege. The last question that I was able to ask Ellie and Thomas because these into delved deep into horror a little bit different than season one season. One had those episodes that were definitely scary and very creepy that maintained throat season one too, though, is definitely horror focused. So I asked both Elliott and Thomas what the last thing to frighten them was. So Thomas gave really interesting answer at first, and then he elaborated a little bit more than Ellie gave gave his answer. So yeah, I really liked both of their answers to these questions. I'm pretty fearless is skipped from east Germany seriously. And since then. I. I, I've found myself being fearless, but then I had kids, you know, and the teach you being afraid. So my kids taught me fear. In general all day every day about everything. Well, me. What frightens it mean to be honest with you is how they and it's been the same. I feel like it's been the same thing since everything started is how people treat each other. And I feel like also in this season, that's what we're talking about it. It's those people have lived what they lived. They have done what they've done, and they probably have a reason for it, but. I'm just concerned about how how, how we treat each other in my episode definitely, definitely. I don't know if I should talk about it because it was more like an. Because you only talk about, say like, I should tell you that I cannot tell you what's going on. Know. No, no, because you know you have personal feelings when you read something, you know when you read something, it's personal, right? We, we're all different. We feel things differently. But for me, those two Turks brothers coming to Prague with a fake identities. They haven't knowledge, they can bring something they can be part of of society and help people. We give them the chance. And then we see we wait for they're going to do it or not, and see what's going to happen. And I feel that this could be very, very easily. Related to what's going on today in the world's with all those immigrants in the orchestra always important, and and I find it, I find it's nicer..

"Right. But you didn't see too many like just vulgar stabs, you know, throw it in toss and it was. I mean, a lot of it was, did I just bite that guy's head up like it was that it was not showing any weight other than the leg, the compound fractured to other blood? Oh, yeah. We saw a couple of people after. Yeah, some stuff. Okay. But it was not. It was on that was thinking the same thing that's my family is when we recommend movies I was doing that two hours watching him. I kinda recommend this to my dad, or would he'd be like, why did you tell me to watch this movie. This wasn't too bad, it's it's. It's a bad, but you know, within the confines of the rating system is not terrible in the voidable. I think if you just want something that's a little bit escapist doesn't come yourself too seriously. Check it out. Just know that it's not really good and it all the script does suffer quite a bit, but it's just it's just enjoy -able. What do you give it? My official rating, my Vert my gut reaction watching most of this was that it was ugly. Yeah, because it would just there were too many. There were guest. Those were those moments like we all talked about where it was like, oh, this actually like this is a decent Forman's, but none of the characters of chemistry. Yeah. Not even their dot as I like the Damian, and I was like, looking at the, of course Becky would go running towards the gun violence. Every time you runs into like there. There's a machine gun every tough. She runs towards it and she sees when the first time she sees venom, like not just like Tom hardy. Like cheese venom? Yeah. And then transition like, oh, we need to get you to the hospital. Did you not see which is happened? Like Ugo hospital, nine foot tall. So just nobody had any chemistry. The storyline did not make sense. It was a siege mess. Right? So, I mean, I really wanted to give this an ugly. And there were there were couple parts of it were still somewhat decent. So I'd give it a bad, but man like it. It was. It's shed net fine line ugly, very, very, because it was just, I will never, I will not watch this again. I don't think I will either. I have no choice for I sat there, and I was like, when I watch this again, I'm like, I think I could watch this again. And then when the ending came, I was like, no. The other thing too is like, is it bad enough that I would never watch it again. I would watch it if I'm flipping through channels and it just happens to come on. I'm like, okay, maybe maybe maybe watch it. Yes, I give it a bad, but real close to ugly. Okay. So, yeah, to wrap it up all three beds for venom. It is at this time that I will throw to those interviews that I alluded to earlier. So the cast of origin and the cast and creators of lore. So enjoy those on this episode. And then I will also be doing a separate episode of gist those interviews later on this week, and then we'll be right back to do our rep. So enjoyed the interviews, what you're about to listen to our, the interviews that I conducted while attending New York City Comecon this past weekend in beautiful New York. Of course, these were roundtable style interviews, which basically means it was me and a bunch of other press outlets sitting at the table. Oil and they would just bring the talent, sit them down. We had a very short amount of time. We printers just got one question and they would have to go on to make sure that everybody had their shot. So I is the cast of the new show on YouTube premium called origin. It is debuting on November fourteenth. The show is called origin. It was created. And one of the writers is Mika Watson, and then Tom Felton was at the table as well. So the first question that I asked them was what was a vision or aspect of the future that was important that was crucial for her to bring forward into her new show. And this was what she had to say. Question. I guess it was really important to have a because every episode we're in kind of a different Paul, the planet, and I think it was really important to keep..

"You would recommend to a friend, bad filming, committed theater and you're like it was not terrible, but I would not see it again, ugly avoid at all costs. So of the three choices, good, bad or ugly. We will start with the curly nerd herself. Just what do you give venom? I give venom a bad. The movie wasn't a good movie, but I enjoyed it while I sat there, there was only a couple of times I was like, you've got to be kidding me. There's only a couple. Yeah, there's only a couple. I didn't do it the whole movie, but it was like it wasn't Batman versus superman bad, but it wasn't to me. It wasn't Batman versus superman band, but there was a couple of times I was like, this is not good. And then there were some times where I was like, this is like, honestly, there was quite a few times I went. It's not that bad. And then I was thinking too soon, and then it was something really bad, you know? So like I, I enjoyed the act. I like the the the car chase scenes is up even though I was like seven. So it's not that big and those streets in Chinatown a really small. And you clearly have gone into circles because I'm seeing the same, the background, but I, I do love action. I love a car. Chase, I will always, I loved the matrix for the car, chase all different. They built a two mile highway. Yeah, I love a car chase scene. I love a car chase scene, so I'm going to have to give it a bad movie. Honesty is pretty trash, but I enjoyed it. I had a good time watching it listeners. The curler podcast will hear that frequently. It'd be like this movie is trash, but I kind of liked it. It was entertainment, not at a Dame. I was entertained. If not even I am. If I'm entertained, I'm happy. I paid this money. You entertain me. It wasn't the best thing in the world. It's like getting bad pizza. Right? You still going to eat. It is not good, but she'll eat it for you, right? You know what I'm saying? Like it's like when you go to a buffet, you can find something there to eat. You know you, you can pick something out is not like per meet. The is bad where I want. Like actually slice eyelids off. I wanna do I wanna be like the joker cut my face off, and so back on kind of. Yeah, that's the kind of pain that I wanna give myself from watching that movie twice in the theater and the same weekend and not understanding why would do such a thing, but because I'm a good friend, my friend wanted to see it go. Is bad. Okay. It's not bad ever. Superman bed. It's just bad for all right. Damian official rating. Good better. Ugly also give it a bed. As I said before, I thought the first thirty minutes was it made me believe that it wouldn't be as bad. Got him. But then we saw the actual Symbicort sim buyout, nap, disagree or eighty. The. HD one of those letters? Yeah. Once I saw once I saw the oil Eunice only we leanness of the symbiosis I was like is triggered because I used to be a football team in do. Okay. So I mean, we still have one. We have one now. We also still have a basketball team. Team, but I think the the thing that I appreciate about the movies that it doesn't take himself too seriously, like you mentioned, Batman versus superman Justice. They try really hard obvious bomb this one. Like I actually feel better now about taking my niece to see it because I know she's not going to have the same hang-ups I do. She will actually enjoy this effort. Sure. It's on the me two hundred million dollars. Yeah, internationally globe with two hundred million dollars. Oh. About here? No, domestically. The data that we ran with relatively packed. It was. It was for a second weekend. Sure. Is. Nobody weekend because I missed the Seattle press screening. So. I was getting. I met dates, mixed light, flicks light flick, right, but I think of his core, it is a fun quote, unquote superhero movie, anti hero movie. The thing I like about it is the worst, some parts that were kinda graphic, but the actual fighting I felt like was not graphic which I kind of appreciate..

"It'll be done because California already has passed their mission set like they, they've lowered their emissions like, you know what I'm saying? So is that type of thing. We got same thing. Now. Now I might gone on tangent about climate climate, change tangent, but but yeah, that's what I was just was like, yes, we're ruining the planet. And then even like venoms motivation got week his initially I was like, oh, this initially I really liked him. Then it got a little too. I can tell you got a little too chummy. Like sticky, but like the terminus, the terminus kind of made sense. I mean, he is inside your head shirt. A character choice that it makes made knows. Then them that I've ever read and I'm not a Venema reader, but at the time that dimes that venom has shown up in the books that I've read. That venom was not in there? Well, it depends. So they kind of basis off of the lethal protector miniseries two, four part miniseries where venom was kind of trying to be a good gun and right, but we're Aspen at straws here. You can't go looking for the one Rando book where plyer he was kind of doing this thing. Do you know what I'm saying? You can't just find the one Rando. Our total character arcs you know, like he just is not happening. He's still not a good person still has like an all Tyrian motive. He's still has still thank you. So that was kind of lead villains villain. Yeah. So that kind of bummed me out. But yeah, his motivation kind of bummed me out him. Some of his choices of things that he said bummed me out. I just look towed. It's just like, where did you even that is not even if Eddie now, if they'd laid the cedar Eddie Brock, it's of that earlier in the movie since Venemen is head, he was like, all right, cool. This does something he would say that was a venom line. That was that was where the power. The power. So it was really cool. Reminded me of like the super Nintendo game maximum carnage. The like that was what it reminded me of. So that was again if the I had been better, that would have been cool because, yeah, he was stretching his arm grabbing somebody's swinging them in a circle hitting other people that we did in the video game. That was nice. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know if an r. rating would've made this movie better because it was it was pretty violent from jump. Some. There was some implied violence, but yeah, there there was some like I know just flinched when the there was bone. Sticking familiar cell growth compound fractures are nasty vying. You like screws, and now we'll go into that later. Okay. With got me was I was actually like the first thirty minutes of the movie. I was actually taking like, this isn't as bad as people say about and then are talking. And I'm like, ooh. And I mean, he just says, little things like a loser, just like you. How do you have a concept of it? Well, I mean, I know he's is head. Yeah, he's under his head. But I mean, that was just a weird thing because I mean, the venom Symbicort race. The Clinton tars I think something like that. I mean, there were several of them in the comics became venom, children, quote, unquote, and bid. Have venom be like I was loser on the home planet just like your loser here. We're best friends now and it was like One one..

So we all kind of know what it's supposed to be in New York, which is also weird because they had to having venom story without Spiderman as weird in general, venom story said in ten Francisco, right? Is also weird, but they were like, oh, like I'm from New York, and I still have currency in New York because blah blah. But I moved to San Francisco after last month and it was because my girlfriend, you. The gopher and who moved on the quickness. But some women do her house right away. When the movie started. I said, Damien, I go. I already don't believe this movie. That's a three million dollar townhouse. A journalist and a lawyer can't afford that. It's not a partner at the firm. She's a lawyer. She's one of the team of lawyers. She Megan enough money and so forth at three of Ford, especially at the end of the movie when I saw that they had a garage or middle. I was like, I look at data garage. No one unless someone handed down, you know, some of these rich folks do down. House to their houses, and I'm like, nobody in San, excuse me. San Francisco can afford to live in that place. No, but unless your rhythm it right, which he has a whole hillside. Right? Like. Yeah, that was. Yeah. So the thing with venom is venom is how we're talking about kingpin being a great counterpoint to daredevil because there's so much physically stronger and bigger and rounder. How quick daredevil is kingpin if you get to hold of you, it is. It is a bad time, right? Venom, same thing, right? Something where I mean, even though the regional symbo costume that was secret wars number eight and original series of Peter part Parker, spectacular, spider number two. Fifty two is first appearance into regular comics. But once he detail actually once tach from Peter Parker and got latched onto Eddie Brock after Eddie Brock hundred establish has not like Peter Parker right then I mean Eddie Brock was already bigger. That was one thing that I will give this movie credit for the size of venom was good. Yeah, I thought it was. He was like nine feet tall, yeah, and gigantic, right? That was what we needed to see because having. Tova grace I get that was not his fault, but as soon as they cast him, I like even if he does a Hollywood diet and puts on fifty pounds is not dilatot for grace talking about back in the day. Yeah, Tom hardy is a bigger kind of duty, even though he was skinny and this bone, he becomes venom, nine feet tall, right?.

"It was kind of obnoxious and then I fell in love with David did, and it is the best. And then I thought that was kind of obnoxious. And then I was like, who's David Tennant? No, I love math math. I didn't really every Peterka Paul de because he was trying too hard and I didn't like his companions. So I stopped watching when Peter capacity right now that we'll see actress name duty would occur now that she's the doctor. Same thing. I was like, she's a little obnoxious right now, but I'll I'll warm up to her because I thought every doctor was obnoxious when they first regenerate. Yeah. I mean there was a weird tone to it, and then she was like, super joke, jokey and whatever. Then she almost kills a guy. Yeah. And I was like, is this the tone that we were doing? Because tenant did that with the Rascon like the giant spider people in the center of years. Like he murdered a bunch of those creatures and Billie piper, like. What is going on. So like it winters his, he kind of her tone. And what I thought was interesting though, I don't even know if this is even appropriate to have on this conversation, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I was reading where they were saying that in because I always liked how inclusive I felt. British TV shows are like in doctor who it's always nice to see like people of color on these shows like the companion is a black person, and I love that was great. And you know, and I even like Billie piper. What was rose Billie? Piper's. Yeah, rose. Thank you. Her little boyfriend. Mickey. I thought that was great that they always wear inclusive. Interesting. Watching this very Persepolis sort of this new doctrine, do they said that they put black actors on shows, but they never have parents and they never show any of their background story he'd ever Martha's parents, everybody was that any of, you know, you never saw any of that stuff. And so then this episode today. The boy didn't have, but if he has, he has his NAN. So this man at the end? Yeah. So you know what I'm saying? I was like, oh my God. They just did what I read in that article about what they do to black characters on. It wasn't interested TV shows and that is that is a good point because at the end of what we saw, I'm not sure if it was the same, the simulcast at the same time, if you guys at one forty, five, something big show at the end of it, like the upcoming cast members I've IVA a fellas. fell asleep. Okay. So they basically while they like a quick like one shot of some of the new cast that is going to be in it, did yours have as many commercials as we did ourselves straight through straight through? Yeah, that's not fair. We a commercial every two seconds and the weirdest ours was every two seconds. Alan coming is going to be enough. So this season, oh, great. Sold coming. Yep. But the cast like the upcoming cast a lot of diversity. Well, that's wait. I mean, doctrines always been pretty diverse though. I mean in the past like ten years, it's been really diverse. So Dr Who I'm on board, I think this will bring a new audience. Right? I think so too, just like every new doctor, but brought me back. Yeah. I mean, after the I know a lot of people, I mean, yeah, like you. They could hold did not really resonate with just didn't care for his companion. I don't even know how she was annoying me to me when she was in with Matt Smith. Oh, really? Yeah, can stand her. She was so bloody annoying. I never liked Rosedale roses at nine..

"How was that? They showed some footage that they're not going to be releasing for awhile unlike some of these other ones. When do you think literally after daredevil, they're like, here's the clip or part of a clip. Hell boy looks really interesting. It is not the del Toro hell boy. What do you mean by that? The physical. So first of all harbor, all three of us in this room know David harbour is much bigger than Ron, Ron. Ron permits a good five age group. She said he has that massive head, so it makes them look like. And the way that they shoot him right angles. Oh, yeah. David hardware is a big dude, right? So his hell boy, and I will not really going to too many spoilers, but this is kind of a quote unquote younger, how we has more hair. Yeah, not really. In the samurai top, not his face is thinner and the prosthetics are different, which actually looked really cool. There's not that super glossy red shine, which is cool because in the comic book he doesn't. He's not so wide in the face either. Like you not gone gone is not the right, but thinner. Yeah. And that all the angles are always more chiseled look in the comic book. So did they do they make him look more like the comic book character as opposed to the del Toro one and harbor because of that the I mean, it is hard to say less makeup because he is still literally head to toe covered and makeup, but he has a moat a lot better than more. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense to because yeah, we're on promos faces a little more stiff. Yeah. So that looks. Really cool. Some of the other stuff they still get the Abyan and the I was still somebody asked him about asked about that and harbor was like, I really, really want to say something, but Lionsgate told me, I cannot. Okay. But you do. So the be PR logo was going to ask you about the. Yeah, so we'll see Daniel day, Kim is in this as well. I don't know who that is from. He was in loss stuff who's at the one Asian guy for most just gonna say as Asia because the Korean. Okay. So he is. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Meal Jovovich is in it. She s she was not there. The. The. Our problem. One of our problematic bays, as in we see everything she is in. She is still not code. She's not good. That's why it in space right now. Just like, why does she need to be in it? But it was one of the greatest action heroes of our time, though she is solid, don't sleep as I would. I contact please continue John. So really blunt his bedroom. She is in this move came back and Sal is better. Oh, no, I beg. So that sounds like a future episode of about review. Podcast, Emily buttons, Grayton, Joe Dino lived the shocked. The future curly episode, best female action heroes. Okay. Send you Rothrock and we'll show you forever be one hundred percent, Angela Bassett because she was able to beat up. I turn on the back of that. Limo. As a superhero right there, and then she slams the Carter and it shatters. Yeah, yeah, that was what's love got to do with it. Folks. About the. I'm excited for the hell boys, some of the stuff they showed did not hook me right away, but I'm already in the bag for this share. You know, we'll be. Yes, I'm excited about that. And the woman from American Honey, Sasha Mitchell. I think I don't is in this her second movie. I'm not sure this will be interesting because this is kind of a, I kind of bigger thing. So and then Dr Who I saw that panel. As the silent cash. I watched it at home couch of the first episode of the new season. Jodie Whittaker was in attendance. The president of BBC America was was the moderator of the panel like mazing. So it was really cool. I'm excited for the new season. I am too. I'm going to warm up to her because the first time I saw Matt Smith, I didn't like him. I started washing Christopher Eccleston and then I thought David didn't..

"Four x just looked different and whatever sold absolutely sold is kind of on the team titans. Go kick like new white in the more on the Tron. Okay. So you can tell them like the, they're going to be some kid jokes, but it is going to have a depth of characters and writing that actually is compelling. So I'm down for that. They showed us like four. Three minute clips or when. We'll orca or co isn't he-man. Okay. Was little creature snarf. No snarf that was thunder. Cats. And I was like, he's into my punter gets no cheered. Did have a little. Magic person too, but I can't remember that character's name. I don't think that so far, which is a good thing. Okay. So yeah, they showed like four, three minute clips. Just twelve minutes. I'm like your episodes or twenty two minutes. Just give us the pilot episode right? You might as well just show the whole episode, right? But the cast is there like a bunch of young kids sold different body types shapes, sizes, colors. All on board. So that was neat. I actually got to see that one with Joe and Brandon up to them. Oh, the geeks, the argued friends. So that was Joe's who I was with that San Diego Comecon? Yes. The big ones that I saw other than those two daredevil, how's the daredevil who? Boy, it's going to be good. Honestly, it reminded me it reminded me of daredevil season one so much that I forgot about everything else. Luke cage iron fist, Jessica Jones, like forget all of those really because I, if I'm being honest, the only show that I like on marvel of all the networks of the marvel shows it's the, it's the only one I really like. I mean, this looks incredible. They revealed that the bane, bad guy, which was the least like the worst thing everyone knew is bullseye, right? Everyone's he's sitting up there. The thing which was twenty. One of the actors came over like drew circle, but that was the first time officially. Yeah, they said that he is playing bullseye spoiler alert. I mean, they showed us one fight scene between the two of them. Like that three minute fighting better than any fight choreography in any of the marvel shows flat out, no Vincent did offer you? He was there. He was there. He was there. He's a big man. Yeah. Is. Used to be the man. You got big. Yeah. So like I mean, just I, I'm so on board for that. That drops October nineteenth throat ready for it. Yeah, you know, it's so funny someone on Twitter said that they wished they're like, man. I wish that Vincent offer is such a great king fan. I just I wish that we could see him like an Spiderman movie and and his. He replied to said, who says, you're not. If I was like anybody else. Sweet anybody else's aprio said there might be a chance read into this. Read too much into this and say, is he kingpin Spiderman movie? Because he's such a good villain. He belongs in that marvel cinematic thing is with daredevil. I mean, we might be a little biased because he was the first of these shows, but it flat out is the best of all of that. They pick the cast really, really, they've different Karen. I think he's still bloody annoying. Karen of the overall care is Welsh. Yeah, we've a, she's no chemistry with anyone else on the show. All the other people have chemistry, electric every single person, chemistry, and he has, no, she hasn't. What bothered me. What bothered me on this on the panel because she was there and they're like, you know, somebody, somebody you go through this well-made. The Queen of slime the Queen of refuse the Queen of pewtrust Tressens. Those are Princess bride reference. Oh, okay. So she was up there and she was like, yeah, you know, this season, we get to explore more of a Cairns backstory. Oh, why we don't know an ass. They were teasing her Baxter in season one..

"The podcast creator, Aaron minke, who then is a creative in volt or creative producer executive producer on the show. Josh Bowman. Thomas crush man, leash wit Elliott Dodd, it would just use huge press rooms where, yeah, just a bunch of us doing questions. So a little bit different format from my other con- coverage. But yeah, look for those a little bit later. The panels that I saw this year, this is the first con where I made the time to go see like the top tier panels, you and know that was something that just like wouldn't San Diego like you would go to like the ones like the big that deadly UB panels, sir. The WB. Any studio panels? Yes. The Auckland panel, this guy. Well, I know, but I would leaving it example. Yeah, sure. Is. I went to the Sony panel. Right? And I went to thank you, sir. She's been to marvel panel. I am awake, but those are something that I just I never really made the time for this year. I really wanted to go see like the top tier stuff. What because you're thinking you're just under run around and get your interviews. Exactly. And this time I was like, may we'll make time actually enjoying the. Yeah, that I just I'm still trying to find the balance of that. I saw the Netflix and chills panel like basically their lineup of new spooky or darker shows. So umbrella academy, which I know you two are big fans of listened to the comic book of the week from last year's something like it was a while ago. Fave some umbrella academy, the whole cast their Ellen page. Was there those Mary j. Blige, which which is amazing. She came up on stage like everybody knows like a comical, like good for you guys. I know do that. So no, no, come on now guy. I was like, who is that? What the hair marriage obliged? I'm like, oh, maybe she? Yes, she looks amazing. Yeah, love Mary. So so I watched that. Those are umbrella academy, the hunting of hill house which comes out on like a week looks super creepy. And again, like these Netflix shows for while there. It was just throwing everything out there. They're just like, hey, look content. That's why they make south park you like south park joke when the kids were trying to do infringe on all the TV shows member Netflix, the garment said net flicks is giving us show to anyone. So let's take advantage of this. That's yeah. So I feel like we're kind of entering that got second age, like second chapter of Netflix shows where they're getting. Not that the quality wasn't there before, but it was just so much. Yeah. What was the percentage of actual quality? It was more quantity than quality the now. I think they realize people love watching Netflix shows and they invest that time. And you know, why don't we just give them some really good ones 'cause us. I mean, we have some of us have been suckered into like watching someone shows. We don't really like this is actually isn't really good. Why am I watching this. And you're like, well. Yeah, it's so hunting uphill, how it's like super excited for that one looks really creepy. The one that I was most excited for in this four kinda show block of Netflixing chills the dark crystal age of resistance. So how was that? That was the whole deal with that. So on the panel, it was just two people. It was Lisa Henson, the daughter, Jim Henson, Danica. Okay. And Lewis or Louis? Let to rare who is the director. Okay. So this is a prequel to dark crystal, a lot of the stories, so the wings aren't like extinct. No, this is their story. So it was really cool for the past decade at least every year. So we hear rumblings dark crystal remake or sequel or this and that legitimate, like they're like, no. Like we just wrapped like two weeks ago. Nice. So in the dark crystal in the original moving. The guilt feelings come upon like this stonewall? Yes, like talks about the old days like the chronicles? Yes, this is that story. Doing. So there were multiple Gill, fling societies that they show like little clips of like again, like they just wrapped. So it's not like we saw the first episode. It was like, no, he's all like behind the scenes thing. It looks incredible..

"No one can see him if the white, but you get that cushions your feet donor. It was poor guy standing next to him in line for a panel, and I'm just like, man. So you you made this with you didn't make it so that you can sit down and he was just like, well, that that was an amateur, right? It's cost play was just out of control. There was a a storm, a clone trooper with an eighty eight on top of it with BB eight on top of that, most of the one that you posted, I saw it as well, and it was like a bunch of grass or that would be swamp thing. Oh, that was that was swampy. He didn't look like swamp thing though. It looked just like swamp thing, but it just I was thinking. Swamp thing that a bunch of different iterations. Oh, let me is like Mookie. No, that was like I was like, what does that supposedly? I mean, he is part of the green until he. I mean, I always he can take a bunch of different forms. I saw like tosa row, and I saw swept away with the spirit creature from situations like the no. Spirited away. I mean, what's the white mask? And it's just black. Is that from spirited away? Yes. And I cannot remember them. Yeah, that was cool. And it was really tall. There was a dragon like a foam dragon is I watched him like getting into it. It took him like thirty minutes to get into thing and with New York different. Remember, emerald city and like rose city and Renton city Comecon New York. There are actually some places where if you wanna stand in your costume and you know you're going to be standing there for twenty to thirty minutes. There's some, there's some nice areas for that. Yeah, emerald city. If cost bar once they stop, people are not happy and they're trying to go around Newark, they're like, all right and all right, but Javid centers, big enough. We're like, okay, this person stops there's enough room around. So I think with the lowest theater prisons in New York City. Yeah, I think a lot of the translates over kind of into the costly cultures Wilshire, and they kind of understand those about. Agrees pretty cool. Yeah. So it was really cool. So the interviews that you will hear a little bit later. So unlike some of my other Comecon coverage were I'd try to highlight some artists and you kind of those like indie creators. I just did not really have time to do it this year. So you will hear interviews with the cast of origin, which is a new show on YouTube. I'm not sure if they're calling you to read or you to premium. Does a new horror show this like far-flung adventure, chilling adventure in space. Yes. So I was able to watch the first few episodes, or do you think it is legitimately creepy and for a YouTube show? I was impressed. I mean, we saw studio has been doing. I mean, they have more money than these people do, but yes knows really good. And so I the chance to interview Tom Felton, Natalia Tanna, send Mitsubishi the Showrunner Mika watt canned and Philip Christopher, so that that interview like that was one of the questions? Yes, Tom Felton so, and also one thing with these interviews. Unlike other concert, I've done these are roundtable interviews with multiple press out outlets. So some of the interviews you will hear are very short because we were allowed one question and maybe to it was a short answer. So some of these are going to be a little bit short. It was. It was really cool. Like Tom Felton really cool guy. The Talia Tanna Tonks from Harry Potter was awesome. Like she was really cool. At the end of it. I told her I was like, hey episode is going to be dropping this week. I gave my business card. I was like, yeah, we'll tag you. She was like, oh yeah, I'm at a time and I was like, I know who you are rare, but I really like it. When celebrities you have to do. Always assume that you know everything about that sounds really cool, so that would that will be origin. And then I also have the chance to interview cast creators of the TV show Lor which is going into its second season on Amazon video. So I talked to show runner and creator Gail and heard Howard to Owens Sean crouch..

"It's still a structured pretty well definitely better than last year artists alley last year because of construction and whatever they were just shoved down in the basement and a small area, which is so trash because the year before it wasn't that way. Yet this year artists alley was huge. It was a big area and read along the wall. They like the CDC guys. They're so the nerds could buy the books and then go down there and get this pressed. No, not CDC is dumb. Yeah, I said it anyway. They're not sponsoring this podcast is when you get it like the hard case and it is grated at the top and it is sealed. Yes, that is CDC comics, grading company, oh scale. It is weird yet the more you know. If my editor could drop that in, let me read in the time. But yeah, so right along the wall, they would have the CDC guys and the people selling the art tubes and this hard. I got you. That makes total sense. Pick that up. Pick up your print or whatever slipping in. They're good to go. The cost play was crazy, New York comic con, I think is the best of all the concert costly. Oh, you think so? I think so out of all of them San Diego's, not that great. Emerald city is fun, but it's like, but the large costume like the large costumes that I see it NYC are unlike anything that the woman who was completely naked and just head body paint on. Newt you have to be more specific that were few of them there. There are some poison Ivy that never about it was more like an easy during the. What of Chris rock column, the plastic shipper platform pumps? Oh, the clear heels. She was wearing those body paint and glitter pasties. Nope. Just body paint. And she had the, I can't. This is a kids show. This is the PG thirteen thirteen. Just as really trying to, I'm like with the best Megan described the way she looks without body shaming. Gotcha. Interesting though. I, I definitely I definitely did not see that. She was is like, oh my God is she actually naked? 'cause I don't body shame. It's Comecon. And the thing I love about Comecon is everyone really gambling live their truth. If you can. It cost them your your shape, your size and your race, ethnicity, religion, whatever. Ginger gen- gender. These three people dress says the Belcher children from Bob's burgers adults. The two guys redresses, Tina, and Louise, and then the girl was dressed as son's name. Forget and he was wearing the, the hamburger that he wears. That was so great. But yeah, so I never more of those people who's just like, look at that girl. She shouldn't be wearing that. Right. Good for where it Comecon where whatever you want, this girl was naked. And again, to me my own puritanical bias. I'm like thirty kids around their kids leg that and get New York is definitely different with that. Emerald city, very family friendly. It doesn't north west New York. It is a different ballgame. But what I was cool is meant to put this in a tweet, I probably will weather time this episode drops. There is more diversity and representation in one subway car in New York for all of Seattle. Right. And so seeing see so diverse. Like seeing cost play. I saw there was a storm in a huge job. That was really cool and just against seeing more diversity, not just in the kind of cross plays types of characters. But like you're saying with religions with ethnishity like that is unique to us Houston next to a guy and they wonder woman outfit. Yeah, very good one, the woman, a very good one is Pete. We're bleeding and. So I have a few cost players like very high level cost per who listen to the show. I really wish I had one of their cards to give this poor man. So he made this wonder, woman gal Gadot costume. He was in like physical pain, and I was like, do you want to sit down? He was like, I can't couldn't because I can't sit down in this. My bodice doesn't allow blah, blah news like 'em when I took my shoes off last night, it took off a layer of skin, and I was like, bro does not worth six? He was, but it was like something about like the fit of the boots or. Cottigny drive it. Ninety tube sock, thick socks. That's what I wear boots like that..

"First off the bat. So yeah, New York City Comecon. This is my second year attending this massive ridiculous Comecon I talked to one of the organizers 'cause they build us as the largest Comecon in the country by attendance because I still don't believe I still think fan Diego's number one. They said two hundred fifty thousand people how many years and Diego they said they won't because of the cap of the four day passes. It was around like one seventy five to two hundred. Oh, you're kidding. Because with the four day and this gets into some like behind the scenes nitty gritty, Steph the four day passes do not register as many unique. Signings as more because they do the individuals so they can see how many. Exactly. So a little bit different. The metric weird. It is the same company. Yeah, he's still read pop up, isn't it? Was San Diego. Notice on international. I should not make the med. You give them extra money for the reason I 'cause I'm going to try and get press credentials with San Diego, sorry about that. So there's always a weird competition. This is a massive Comecon at the Javits center. Mostly. They also have like three off-site, the Hulu theater, Madison Square Garden, Amherst Hammerstein ballroom. I feel like there's one other enemy expo ninety four, right? Which I did not even get a chance to go to that. I wanted to do this year. Oh, nobody did. From what I heard. It was very low attendance all the anime stuff in the main showroom floor, and that was what they were trying to do this year. They were like, all right. Well, this time you know, we'll give the big showcase here, but for all you anime heads, we'll give you a new thing. Because San Diego does it where they put it at the Marriott and the whole do they? Yeah, the animation, a totally different where like where we used get are like volunteer. And when would buy your merchants, your Comecon merch interesting, different hotel in different rooms, all the enemies totally different. Even when they would do like showing some anime film. Cheeky monkey. And from what I heard, at least like the press industry passes. And I think one other type of pass was good for the whole anime fest. I'm not sure if it was the same for like the daily ones. Do they were okay going today? They treated the, they treated enemy fist or whatever it was going home as part of in y. Si si. Okay. They also had. The studios in New York comic con, which was a couple of blocks away. They they had about six offsite location is crazy lot. Yeah, that is a lot. I mean, again with emerald city, even though there's much much smaller pretty much is central. Yeah, they might have one off site thing at the paramount theatre. I was gonna say, like down the street I block away, right? But everything is pretty contained this one. I mean to walk all at Madison Square Garden from the Javed's is not in not far, but it's not close, especially when you're lugging lug elegant case, right with thirty pounds of podcast. Hammerstein ballroom was kind of in between the two. It's kind of that was a straight shot, but it was the temperature is all right. It was like seventy five. The humidity is something me being from Seattle is something I do not need to worry about jobs rose, right? Yeah, because the fact of the matter is like that when people always say that my well, Seattle has like damp air issue because it's the light drizzle clamp cover fog. It is not humid. Hot. Moist, all on moist walking around like I can just feel it on my hands. Yeah, it's itchy is super gross goes, but. Just immune from Houston and just like whatever you live in humidity's. Right? We merely humidity humid state. He was born in your the driest person in the most humid statements. As she Larry over here, right? Big facts. Like he was punching a flower bag just to pottery knuckles. We do. So my overall thoughts on Comecon as big as it is and as crazy as to walk around with a big case and everything..

"When you're creating content and looking for collaborators, what kind of issues do you run into and how do you overcome them? Are you asking about like challenges specifically in the creative process and like working with people and like finding the right people to work with, like what kind of issues like do you come across when working with people that aren't necessarily really familiar with which is in witchcraft. I like I think for for me, it's always just like when I cast someone or when I'm bringing telling on always keep the content and mind in general, I like like with Vanessa, when it came to Redlands, we literally just asked her, like, what do you think of this is I'm all for it and so like you don't, you don't have an shoot and that. What about working with Ravi? I mean, what was Robbie's knowledge Robin's. Great. We all we both kind of come from old school, punk backgrounds and Robbie's like super open minded and chill and good with everything. And I mean, part of what I look for someone who. Not looking for people who are very judgmental and be like, oh, so you look into that boost, which is honestly, I, I'm starting to learn Serology just to piss off straight white boys. Oh, Stroje. So dumb, but let me tell you what Hogwarts house I'm in and let me tell you a NBA TI type and let me tell you all this other stuff. That's absolutely like, oh, wow, that sounds like such Sagittarius thing to say. The time they were born and they're like, are you doing electrical charge on me? Beller you're in this Blair witch movie. He was there. Was there a conversation with those guys writer director about like, what is the witness of this home? And there were some things that came up on that set. Why are we only getting to this with forty seconds, low forty seconds. We didn't really so much talk about, like, you know, there was a kind of explanation and the most recent Blair witch I was in that was like about who she was kind of like historical accounts of persecution, but she's real which, but she's evil. I don't know, but like the witchy shit that happened on that set. Band director director of one point we were doing like the campfire scene, which we had a shoot like three days because we had to reshoot at many times at one point, he thought it would be like atmospheric to start playing speakers in the woods, like Elsa, Crowley, doing invocation. And I was like. Funny because it's like me and then the fundamentalist Christian actor both was like, no. Nobody like it's just, let's not. Let's not mess with that. And then like. And then like a week later, we're still out there doing the campfire scene, and that's when one of the women from catering decides to sit down and the tent and tell us that she believes demons are attracted to horror movie sets because of energy that we're raising all. Well, we're literally in the middle of the woods like camp is base campus way way. You cannot see the light. You know, it's not kind of bigger just. Yeah. So there was a lot of stuff that came up for people off. We'll get you all back. We'll do another convention. We'll talk about all this stuff. Please give around clubs to all of our panelists.
