"new orleans saints" Discussed on Hall of Shame

"A WORLD killed backwards. We want him. Friday sideways. We want his care firework. Just to reiterate okay, Greg Williams the defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints. Is telling his players to kill Frank Gore's head. We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways wasn't i? Understand the coaches go into NFL locker rooms in they like. Try and get. These guys pumped up. They're like we're out for blood law, but it is quite disturbing to to hear it. This is not a pump up speech. This is borderline criminal, if not straight up criminal I don't think it's on the border. All the way there, so this is this is fucked up. He ends the meeting by reminding his players to never apologize for the way they compete. Which is dirty? And apparently ended the meeting with a motivational DVD. Could you imagine? We want to murder this person anyways now. Watch this DVD. He's like, and now I'm going to play does raise. You gotta be. With the discovery of this new evidence, the NFL released a statement announcing the Saints Coaches, and between twenty, two and twenty, seven of the players were associated with this bounty program. Wow, well. And Boy? Oh boy! DID PEOPLE LOSE THEIR SHIT? This was all over the news. Rightly, so yeah, the saints head coach. Sean Payton was suspended for a year without pay seven million down the toilet deserved. This was the first time the NFL had ever suspended a head coach for any length of time. Isn't that surprising so more on Sean Payton's involvement in a hot SEC as the investigation goes public greg, Williams was suspended indefinitely for his role. They have suspicions because this spended indefinitely. Stuff infuriates me. It's like this guy should be being booked perhaps. So they actually have suspicions. He was doing this with the other three thousand times he code. And I wouldn't doubt it, so the assistant head coach was suspended without pay for the first six Games Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis. Eight Games of the season bountygate had absolutely everyone involved I'm surprised. Somebody from ticketing didn't get fucked two. Saints were fined five hundred thousand dollars. Okay, that's IT YEP. Well, I'm just saying like when you think about how much teens make five hundred thousand dollars is like what literally a dollar is to millions. I mean just think about what they pay one athlete like it's. So, they lost two second round draft picks in two, thousand, twelve and two thousand, thirteen, not first rounders second round seconds, remers. Yeah, we don't WanNA wait. We don't WanNA. Make it that harsh guys, so we want to show that we're like punishing them, but we don't actually WANNA, punish them so if we want specifics on players, this is a good one. Apparently Defensive Captain Jonathan Vilma, offered ten thousand dollars in cash to any player who knocked, Brett Farve out of the NFC championship game, he was given a full season suspension and three other players received shorter suspensions a few months later, the new NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue decided to overturn all of those punishments, so no one suspensions. You know what classic? Classic capital see so if there's anything where learning, it suggests that there is no accountability. Listen anyone with this is obviously a terrible story and everything that's happened is terrible, but I do low key love when this drama unfold. Like Deflate Gate, bounty gate. I can't get enough of it. Everyone was in shock. Everyone wanted to talk about it drew brees. Not Our guy tweeted. I am speechless Sean. Payton is a great man, coach and mentor. The best there is I need to hear an explanation for this punishment. He's got his start like having some conversations before he tweets. Like somebody else. The head coach Sean Payton Okay claimed to not know anything, but after going through his emails, they found a message from his friend Mike Ornstein that stated PS Greg. Williams put me down for five thousand dollars on Rogers, he had that in his inbox. Of course he knew everyone news going on right in front of them, so Mike Ornstein was one of. Of those friends of the team like I was mentioning just happens to be buddies with Sean Payton. He actually works in marketing is a convicted felon and was convicted for mail, fraud and money laundering whole Larry Sleep because of Super Bowl ticket scalping allegedly, so Sean Payne was clearly lying and knew about the bounty shit all along the conspiracy to purposefully injure opposing players funneled. To the top and this wasn't some low key underground bounty pool. The New Orleans head coach was fully aware. It's crazy Sean Pantheon. Our whistle blower, our guy to sit documentarian trying to make a documentary about a good dude with al s yeah, and then he gets like sucked into this. Honestly, his story is also interesting because he came out with this and then was just like. Should it on like people hate when you try to ruin something that they love. It's Kinda like people. Hey, when you try and do the right thing. When you try and do the right thing shines a light on how I'm not doing the right thing and they make snack. I want to stay in my own little bubble and football and you grossing late shined. The fact that I'm not doing the right. Don't ruin this for me so sean. Pantheon our whistleblower very brave to come out. All over during this whole process really sucks. He said that drew was texting him and calling him after he found out that Sean had this tape. Like. Hey, buddy, we should not put this out drew me regret being open to you changing. We should not with this out right now. Wait for the right time lake sketchy sketchy, but you and I are going to add to our merch. Lowest Team Pamphlet Lon shirts team pave on jackets. Bookham so everyone knew Kay. How could they not? This was happening on their team in their locker room before there is on the field, you'd have to be an idiot, not to now. Truly around this time there were so many cases of CT obviously not all related to the saints but Holy Shit. This is so obviously an issue in two thousand eleven. What would have been right? Right, in the middle of bountygate retired Arizona cardinals player Dave. duerksen commits suicide by shooting himself in the chest, and he left a note asking for his brain to be studied. Please see the my brain is given to the NFL's brain bank. He shot himself in the chest so that somebody could look at his brain and neurologists studied his brain..

You're probably wondering why the NFL is investigating a team. That just won the Dang Super Bowl. They're not the Patriots. This is Bella cheat. We're talking about. Literally their name is the saints I'm just putting that together well Well, as it turns out the two thousand ten NFC championship game against Minnesota where the saints demolished Brett Farve raised quite a few suspicious, and apparently this wasn't the first time. The saints actions were questioned in two thousand ten anonymous allegations were reported to NFL officials that the saints had been specifically targeting and injuring players an effort to get them out of the game. You might think well. Yeah, that's football, but now it's darker than that. As it turns out, it wasn't incredibly brutal. Arizona cardinals game plus the Brett Farve Minnesota game that was the catalyst for a two year investigation into the New Orleans saints and the Shit that. They dug up was wild. Greg Williams again defensive coordinator in charge of the men on this field his actions. Weren't just dangerous. They were a part of bigger fuck conspiracy within the Saints Organization. The team operated a system, were saint staff literally everyone from like coach's leadership to the occasional wealthy friend of the team to literal players would buy in and pool their money together from that pool. They paid out bonuses to players for taking opponents out. Oh, my God those bonuses were called bounties, hence the name bountygate that is wild players would be paid out a thousand dollars for a card off. Fifteen hundred dollars for a knockout head and pay out apparently doubled or even tripled during the team's three playoff appearances I'll. And just for perspective is fifteen hundred dollars like to knock someone how these people make a ton of money. They make a shit ton of money. So this is just like chump change for them. which kind of makes it even messier? It's gross, no matter what, but it makes it that much grocer to me. Yeah! The pool was said to have reached fifty thousand dollars at a certain point. That's that makes more sense. To I mean it doesn't make sense at all, but. Makes more sense than a grand. Dollars to knockout Brett farve man the. Saints players would also get paid extra money if they carried out hits on certain players, they put hits on big name. Guys Kurt Warner Cam Newton Aaron. Rodgers Brett. Farve were all targets disgusting and Greg Williams was basically said to be the evil architect of this. Williams Williams's. He's the Buck Shit throughout the investigation there was a lack of evidence that directly tied the saints officials like the coaches to the scandal, but then in twenty twelve. The NFL received proof that Greg Williams was G. I lt why the smoking gun came in the form of a videotape and the guy that submitted that tape. Was Documentarian Sean Pam, Teflon Pamphlet had been granted access to the saints team while making a doc about. About retired safety for the saints. Steve gleason Steve gleason sadly was and still is battling LS. He is a bad ass. Highly recommend you google. This guy is he's the best. He's cool. This videotape was taken during a meeting Greg Williams held with his defense before the two thousand twelve divisional playoff game against the forty niners in a very disturbing speech. Greg encouraged his players to care players. ACL's which is a gnarly injury-free. God. That's a potentially career ending injury. HORSE HEAD! All of this is horrifying. Names angles. Truly terrible I've had there's. He told them to target players with histories of concussions. Make God. It's disgusting kill the head and the body will die, and here's him talking about forty niners running back Frank Gore Purely..

"Champions thrilling meanwhile, Brett farve check in with him. He retired after that game. He never played football again. That's somethin'. Did say he looked forty, so I'd be like pine. It was only because they were like. He looks every bit his forty years, and he was like I'm so hurt. Never again I can't. I cannot go on. I can't do this anyway. I wasn't it about me. I would definitely be like devastated. That's really rude. I don't know why we get away with saying such terrible things about athletes. Yeah! More pieces ship okay so. It's at this point in the story. After the Saints Big Super Bowl win that I would like to introduce you to the defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints Greg Williams. We already know him. 'cause we're browns. Fans were mills. Back then. Greg Williams was riding high off that super. Bowl win with the saints and Pretty Dame. Before coaching on the saints. This guy has been all over the NFL. He's been the defensive coordinator of the Jaguars the titans team that will not be mentioned because of the racist name. The Rams he's been the head coach of the browns like I, just mentioned this guy's NFL. Passport is full of stamps. Guess. I'm a writer, too. So this man is a big deal. He's largely responsible for the Saint Super, Bowl win, and it turns out entirely responsible for their unusually aggressive defensive line in the most serious way possible in little. Did he know? The NFL was conducting an entire investigation into him and his team behind closed doors. Now plot thickens. I'M GONNA. Tell you about this hot little investigation. After the..

"So we in the sports, World Sports, fans people that cover sports Yada Yada Yada. We've dealt with a lot of gates. There is a spy gate, one, two, three, four, five, hundred, sixty, seven. I'm sure there's more to calm. Deflate game was a good one tiger gate foot gate let Banana Gate Banana Gate I'm confused. Is that like players getting hurt on a banana? That's. Good Goodbye, you believe it, 'cause. It's probably probably haven't but today I am so excited. We're talking about bountygate. Dino kind of don't know a ton about I. know the basics can't wait so excited so same I feel like some may be familiar with the story, obviously bountygate and Like you know a notable title name. I don't know but like you I knew the basics because it only happened back in twenty ten. It's not share you know back when you were twelve years old or whatever. And I was like seventy three. But there are some details in Russia. That I was not aware of and maybe asking for you, and this story goes pretty deep, and I'm going to warn you. It is pretty fucked up, so we can't wait. Anymore the more fucked up the story relate yes. I want to start at the twenty ten NFC championship game breadth all the Minnesota Vikings. Goal, the New Orleans Saints, the would goals. The Super Bowl, forty four's. Now, it's time to call between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints. Okay. Whoever wins this NFC championship game goes to the Super Maine's. So this is high stakes baby. The Vikings were led by Hall of fame quarterback Brett Farr. Brett farve to be the Green Bay packers quarterback. He's got a storied history with the packers, but he retired in two thousand eight K.. This is two thousand, ten, two, thousand eight. He got bored and retirement I can only assume decided to come out of retirement, and is now back in the swing of things with the Vikings I don't know about you, but I hate it since we're in charge of the league, you and I. And we, we make the decision. The commissioner of the NFL I. Don't hate that idea. I like it, too. I hate it when quarterbacks how like they're just known for being on a certain team like Brett Farve drew brees, Tom Brady, and then they leave Leon. Photos came out of Tom Brady and the bucks uniform, and they're so gross Okay so the stakes are high, right, share win, and you're in Brett Farve hasn't been to a super bowl since nineteen ninety days has been twelve years is. Like when he also emailed his Dick to some lady. Dick Pic Gate I. Don't remember a Brett Farve Dick Pic. Well next week different guests. Keep going. We're going to dive at one. Okay so this game was really intense in the first quarter staying the saints fell down fourteen to seven. Touchdown Minnesota Sydney Rice his fourth to this post tied it up in the second third down and ten breeze down the Middle Has Reggie Bush then the saints went ahead in the third brands. Can't find anywhere to go at it now does. and. No touchdown catch by Reggie. Bush and they're gonNA mark him short, and that's worth challenge because it looked like it was inside, the pylons call deployed broke the of the goal line. Vikings came back in the fourth quarter. Tie it up. Peterson pounds it to the goal line in an touchdown Minnesota. They went into overtime. These Games are the most fun the most funded back to back so much on the line. It's amazing so in overtime. This little known saints kicker named Garrett Partly. Hit a forty yard field goal. Stood! In the Game New Orleans experiments. They Iraq's. This guy becomes the most famous person. At least among. The. Saints defeat the Vikings and onto the super bowl. They go, so this game was a rollercoaster for a couple of reasons it was very back, and forth as I just mentioned, and highlight or low light rather was that this game was a new. Barbie trouble. The Rachel Chester, Taylor but flag comes down and it was Hargrove who ended up on top of far more rough than your regular football game, which is a really hard bar to pass. The third personal foul with Troy Brett Farve didn't look healthy as he staggers around, and now squats down to the thirty yard line. They say starve. WHO ESPN rudely said looked every bit his forty years like Ala which babe. How the NFL nine forty growing shave. That's kind of hilarious. So far said it was the most violent game he had played in his entire career, and he played in some Rough Games anybody for over twenty years. That's. Your net games there wasn't head rain. There was some some fog ever two times in which I was hit by Darren Sharper late he he loved my head, and both of them were. Pretty devastating. but I stayed in the game one. They still flag when they didn't why. They throw the other. I have no idea but head, ringing or or fireworks going off as a concussion. Yeah, I did have that. You know it was a violent. The game itself as pilot. Things are GONNA. Happen with that won that game in particular was probably the most violent. I have ever experienced if head ringing fireworks is a concussion. Yeah I. Did have that like that so brutal I'm no doctor. I am the commissioner of the NFL, but I'm no doctor when we'RE COMMISSIONER WE'RE GONNA. Make some changes that definitely sounds like. He was maybe dealing with a concussion and remember. This is two thousand ten. I agree with your diagnosis. Dr Banat thank you, thank you. It's not like people didn't know about Cte right, so the fact of the REF didn't call that second hand is. Problematic yeah, for contexts. Let Me Explain T. for those of you. That might not know what it is. Chronic traumatic and philosophy is a neuro. Degenerative disease caused by repeated head injuries. Symptoms may include behavioral problems, mood, problems and problems with thinking does Donald. Trump have it all GOTCHA. Any. was well talked about at this point Goodell was adamant that the NFL was doing research about this issue a few years prior in two thousand seven Goodell even had a concussion summit where he gathered physicians and Athletic Trainers from every team to attend a conference on mild traumatic brain injury. They even register handed out pamphlets. You can't ignore a pamphlet now. You get a pamphlet and you're like this is real. This is real like there's a month where I was more men because I got a pamphlet. Not much. The conversations were happy share, and it was a part of the narrative around football. In everybody's aware everyone's aware ut. It was known that repeated head injuries were not great hilarious that we had to be made aware of that Jensen. I feel like that would be a given, but. So back to that NFC championship game the New Orleans, Saints Win go to the Super Bowl right. They win that, too. They become the two thousand ten super bowl.

Setting The Record Straight On Colin Kaepernick As An NFL Quarterback

"The opinion to the national football league evolving along with the public's. The NFL is now saying it was wrong not to listen to its players concerns about Racism Commissioner Roger Goodell says the League now encourages the kind of peaceful protests that former quarterback Colin Kaepernick engaged in. No, mention though of Colin Kaepernick in yesterday's statement. We have the latest now from NPR. Sports correspondent Tom Goldman Tom. Thanks so much for being with us. Hi Scott. What do we know about that video statement from the Commissioner? Was it a response to the video that players released yesterday? Yeah, it certainly seems that way day nearly twenty players all African American, and some of the League's biggest stars, they made a powerful video that included some of the players were named of black victims names that have become rallying cries in the protest movement, and here's a bit of that. Brianna Tiempo. Him. To me right now, Scott, the players also called on the NFL to make several strong statements such as condemning racism and admitting it was wrong in silencing players from peaceful protesting. And what are the NFL do? Well, just what the players Astorg late yesterday. The NFL released video of Commissioner Goodell and here's some of that we the National Football League condemn racism in the systematic oppression of black people. We the National Football League emit. We were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier. And encourage all speak out in peace league protests Tom what's the significance of those statements from the Commissioner? Well the NFL has a race problem around seventy percent of the league's players are African American, but twenty eight of the thirty two head coaches are white. Only two of thirty two general managers are people of Color, and of course Scott the NFL has a Colin. Kaepernick problem as well. You remember back in two thousand sixteen. He began kneeling during the national anthem before games to protest police treatment of minorities and social inequality a handful. Handful of players joined him, and they all endured a huge backlash. You know they were branded as unpatriotic against the flag and country into this day. Capper Knicks still doesn't have an NFL job, so forget del to say. The League was wrong for not listening to these players for him to condemn racism. That's significant Will we see Kaepernick get a job. Will we see more? Minority hires in important positions. That'll be even more significant. With Commissioner Goodell's statement and show many players. Speaking up and speaking openly now has has the landscape of professional football changed. You know it feels like it's changing. The drew brees story from this week. I think is an indication breeze is the star quarterback for the New Orleans Saints in an interview. NFL relevance for Tom Brady, Tampa Bay reflected in five prime-time games

"Yes Sir the NFL schedule release for the hopeful coming season and spot lighting that schedule drew Brees Tom Brady now division rivals in the NFC south rank warning to an NFL passing yards passing touchdowns and completions all time faceoff of four twenty five eastern kick off on the opening Sunday of the season the Brady bunch or schedule for a Max a prime time games that's five including three consecutive weeks six through eight meantime Freddie Coleman on the idea of star power now with the box we know this especially the National Football League when you have star power you want your star power with the most eye balls can be able to see that star power that's why to to have a booking is got a lot of league games they've had more games this year five in terms of prime time window games than in the previous seventeen years of being so close I don't know that five prime time games this year for Tampa Bay they only have four prime time games in the last seventeen years that's the effect the Tom Brady that's why the NFL wants to be here for everybody they know the kind of star power that they have especially when they're your biggest star is starting over in a new city against eight nothing still hall of fame star with a plea to the twice that the vision media drew Brees the New Orleans Saints that's what the NFL even though they were tentative even though Roger Goodell said in a statement wanted to make sure that Hey we want to be here for you we know yet says the paper schedule each and every year but in preparing to play this season as scheduled they will continue to make decisions based on the latest medical and public health advice they had to put that out there because you'd be dumb not to but they also know that no matter what the stars you want to see we're determined to make sure what the fans in the stadium and not that we're going to give you exactly what you want that's why we got all this pomp and circumstance with the NFL schedule release parties I'm calling it that is happening all

New Orleans Saints agree to terms with QB Winston on one-year contract

"Yahoo Sports is Charles. Charles Robinson reports at Norrland's is finalizing a one year deal with Winston. The former buck coming off a five thousand one hundred nine yards season thirty plus touchdowns three interceptions and immediately eyebrows. Raised the idea that Winston would stay in the division. Go to the Saints. Backup drew brees. He enters the mix with Tatum Hill. Who IS SUPPOSED TO BE? And maybe still is the heir apparent To breeze so it just leads to a lot of unsolved mysteries in its own right greg your thoughts when you heard the news that Winston may be and quite possibly is headed to the saints I I wasn't shocked because I I what I did. This hashtag setup into your own comet with a big way. Why why you made your Greg sounding you often. I got it. I wasn't gonNA say anything but then mark reacted to it and I can't help myself but go ahead. I did this Saints Twitter Pot. Podcast just knew that way wolf as podcasts. Him into my buddy Adam and they were saying they were hearing. This was going to happen before the draft so they got sources on the inside and and they ended up being proven right and it makes all the sense in the world of your Jameis Winston and makes sense of. You're the saints too. I think you get a chance to get Jameis. Winston in the building for a year probably drew brees his last year. We haven't heard any financial terms the Jameis Winston deal you know was reported on before the Taste Hill extension Came out and the money that was involved. That extension came out. Part of me does wonder. Is this deal for absolute sure does did Winston know about that before he he came determines but either way he? He should do the deal. Because if he can somehow impress Sean Payton or if he can end up getting in the lineup and being as backup like Teddy Bridgewater What better place to possibly learn because damis Winstons still has a lot to learn but he also has a lot of talent a guy that throws for five thousand yards can do things in the NFL and like there's no better place to learn. Other than to undo. Breezy and Sean Payton.

Actually out in Vegas so oh wow. That's incredible translations. Do we have. Do we have a good team in the United States Good Dr Team I mean. Does it several different It depends on what what you're planning and that type of thing but yeah the women won and They hadn't won for a couple of years. Yeah I don't know about that. This is a serious question. Is there any chance that that might become dart throwing an Olympic sport or something. You know I wish it would. I think it could be it's very big overseas. You know and steel tip and that type of thing big in England and that type of thing. I think it'd be amazing to see something like that and the Olympics but probably a little bit off of that This wheel to weaken steel tip. I'm not offset. Oh that's It's pretty big actually. There's a lot of money and it's actually pretty big in the Indianapolis area. So we like steel steel tip because they use his face as the board Darts right so you prefer the steel tip or the software like what's the difference really have a preference. I guess it just Kinda depends on what region of the country. You're in a still bigger and and like the east coast or the South south southern part of the country It's it's here and there in Indianapolis Annapolis but it Kinda just carries there's a very big Plastic tip crowd here and there's a lot of money that floats around in that. Yeah all right well. Good luck this weekend. Then all right thanks. That's a little more about Dark tournaments that I ever wanted to know probably not. That's good that's that's good stuff. "Aw I'm not that type of doing score hundred percent I need to face the call this one dangerous welcome everybody to another episode of lighthearted podcast heart ask another you're gonNA have gamers athletes going to have businessmen moments I would say that probably the welcome everyone to another episode hard to podcast so first off congratulations to manny smalls who is then we'll give away winner last week many small any small congrats my man thank you for what is it sorry to put you on last manny smalls shutouts van Mo for allowing us to do this giveaway thank you guys and make sure you guys friend us on Van Mo and we're GonNa pick think thirteen more winter so I'm definitely do that and enter for a chance to one thousand dollars Yup all you do is super easy super easy so again this without further ado we just kind of getting into with mean log on I've seen media day there's a lot of stuff going on on Thursday a training camp today that was fun kind of good at this kind of get back into the swing things you know obviously seasons a very long but it's you know very exciting is going to be very exciting season so yeah look to us about talk to us about media day other fans tune in and they see the press conferences and they see the photo shoots and stuff like that but what is what does it look like behind the scenes what's what's your agenda what time you get there whatever we don't see so I got probably around WanNa say around eighty o'clock probably got it there by eight o'clock we I did a couple of physical stuff you know internal doctors and etc and after that did they like some table work some soft tissue work and then it kind of started the the media circuit news it was a very long process this year I don't know why it was so long as you guys got a Lotta is on you got a lot is it was very very long I think it took like four hours just about so long but it's cool obviously kind of get the the training camp started into season started so you know something that's fun that's kind of fans in the sense 'cause we a lot of the jumbotron stuff and etcetera so you know there's cool this long but I watched your press conference the press conference was it is old it's the same kind of stuff same questions ex- except for the question oughta be trapped in the wilderness where they never got that before so you got some podcast questions from gaming questions it was cool there's there's always a way for other people to see another side of myself so that's always cool I like the like the the what other MBA player would you want to have a podcast too yes Ma Spencer saw that yeah would definitely sense you said he's a more of a creator no not a not a creator guest so we're definitely going to have to get him on on other guests sometime soon as you scared us you know all that got link up but make sure we get that done for you guys I guess he's he's he's very smart obviously no very in touch which is you know different investments in tech world and etc so doubt I hope that I think that'd be very good interview for not just people to see kind of you know his thing in his thinking is very different and is very we know insightful so we'd have to do a lot of research before that I really know what we're talking about because he's GonNa come in and talk about blockchain Oh yeah he's talking to his contract and we got we got we got a brush up on it yeah exactly so I mean we'll get there we will get there Monday pretty good research yeah don't want to speak too highly of ourselves but you know you remember when that when we did when we were reciting all of his stats yeah man you know we do we do our research over here lighthearted podcast talk about about me me really too much going on besides there so you're getting off the hook that easily I think the people want to hear about how training camps going and and all that and you probably got asked that a million times or media day but what's what was the first day of practice like what what what do you what do you do on the first day of and NBA today's the first day and it's it's it's a little different for everybody just because you know you have new guy that I think they were saying only five guys of the twenty that we have on our training camp roster was there last year so it's definitely a new faces obviously myself as one but so you have that but then you also have new coaches and all that kind of stuff so it's it's everyone kind of getting to know everybody and getting not tendencies and he has a new defensive coats so that's different for the guy that were there he does a different scheme than you know what I played you know I played with with the Lakers so you know the things is different you got to kind of adjust and get used to that kind of so but the first day is really just learning the more the principles offensively defensively for us we like getting up and down so we we got up and down a little bit today so that's kind of how you know things going so far and then you mentioned you you have a new coach on on the defensive side of things I felt you throughout your career you've been looked at as a pretty good defender obviously really good on ball defender but a you know a great sort of just he's in the right position is do when you have to learn new defensive schemes you feel like you usually catch on pretty quick yeah I think so I think it kind of all depends on the scheme or like you know the style of it you know there's a little bit different than what I played in in La so just kinda gotta get used to somebody that stuff but it was good I I think I'm a quick learner a fast learner so but you know I don't WanNa do that in myself so but I was saying I think I'm pretty good learning wise I mean it's crazy I mean I have practice today and then you have a game literally in six days six days so it's I mean there's league as a quick turnaround but that's also the beauty of the NBA because you might might lay in a one game get blown up twenty but you gotta you gotTa game the next day so you know as a beautyrest league in this how it is so it'd be it's going to be fun I'm very I'm definitely looking forward yeah knowing that you guys I mean star practice today and then have your first game so soon after like like do people use preseason as really as a way to sort of test test which lineups work and what schemes are working really use it as like a learning process yet I do agnes who surname Dan obviously we have six preseason game so towards the end of it you Kinda Star arrest in you know starters you know you guys obviously you don't want to enter injuring general but you don't want to have an injury definitely not in pre Zidan but the first two games you definitely see the style you guys get used to your personnel and everything like that right because obviously you have the summer you know who kind of who you're getting out of singing free agency and stuff like that but you're not always going to have let's there in the summer they kind of use that time to kind of get their body right you know some guy played later in the playoffs so you might have gotten free agency so they won't take lead time to focus on their body get their body right but you kind of use the three days or three games say has just learning tools and kind of get to know your players in Notre Tennessee's what they like what they don't like and it's the same for you know players and which is you get you get a defensive strategy and you know offensive game plan and etc I love it I love it I was I was I actually had media day yesterday to actually do I nobody asked me any questions but I I was at hey media debt hey man accounts Joe Branch Joe Branch appointed assistant gm of the of the timber chiefs who else I saw a couple of friends Jordan Jay Sima Mayor Robert COVINGTON row coma guy I didn't I didn't talk to me it's my Guy Roco he's cool did you know he has pet snakes yes I do know that I'm not a fan of that but hey tea each his own who else I saw a cat category big travel who else who else you on that team thank who else did I think that might be Akilah Martin who is that just a bit he played in the Big East there did you actually hear me Keelan Martin O. from a cool I thought I thought that was like a the biggest Chiampou oh no I wasn't when you said Mar in others who's he talking about because I saw a picture earlier on late Nevada they played both playing the Hornets so when you said Martin kind of what I thought and I was like way kind of of the Oh yeah but you know were more in passing though Wiggins Jeff teague they actually have a good team no you're going to be good do-doesn't going to be good But I'm definitely I wasn't at your Media Day but I'm interested nice to hear like how how teams do differently but the way the way they did it and to give you some context the reason I was out there I I manage got him kicked Saddam is who is like the top sneaker customize in the NBA He does awesome work from you know everybody's done work with Josh to you know cat is like really as big is big in cat kind of got him help break his name out on the scene Daimler James Heart and he's done a bunch of really cool stuff for them but anyway the timber wolves flew him out to their meetings EH and you know did you guys have stations where you go from like one thing yeah yes so one of the stations was like he set up in their locker room where the guys would come in The shoe that they were going to be playing on this year it'd be sitting on this kind of like glass podium and then they I just did like a a minute or two minutes sort of conversation we should ominous about you know what's important to them and you know what it's like their family or their pets are like stuff they're interested in and they talk about what custom shoes he's GonNa make for them and then he's going to take all the shoes back to La film himself making them and then he's going to send it back to Minnesota the team's GonNa film The guys opening the I'm an talking to come together nicely for a cool content piece that starts with like Media Day and goes all the way through the end of the season so that was that was the station hearing hearing you talk about how like Kinda dragged out and it was like four hours it made sense because the guys were like really excited when they got to station because it was different it wasn't like a traditional just like me the hips Hand side do do some crossover between delay all that kind of stuff so it's like you know what after the I to our that is again a little old yeah saw during like during the Games during the season whenever you see like the stuff on the jumbotron like I know the Lakers it's had like you know see how many whatever's you can name and thirty seconds in the fan does it and then and then the player shows a recording of the player doing it that that all happens during meetings yeah that's all all media unless it's like a special occasion or something special but most of this kind of you got to fly right out to God knows where and issues is too hard to do that during the season so that's kind of what media day therefore and you know kind of just get it all the way down did you get a pre media day haircut gotta shape up because I was watching the house watching the extreme on the Pelicans twitter.

"Until they until the defense proves that there's somebody not that you can't run at just run it. I liked that. I liked what I watched. The Seattle Oh game and I watched live the rams game ever watched the all twenty two from that Marcus. Williams is also a guy that gets a lot of attention as a free safety he obviously is known for the big play against the Vikings a few years ago where he went for the I don't know what he was thinking but he gave up the big play that advance the Vikings in gained. It looked like it was already over. He's the guy that I think that he takes us a little bit. doesn't have the the range. I think a lot of people thought HE DID COMING OUT OF UTAH and than he is a big gambler so this we've seen this Kella more offense run a lot deeper post. Some double moves attack the middle of the field a lot deep. Keep down the field. This is a game where maybe they can go at a guy like that. That is a little bit of a gambler. We saw them run those double posts in the red zone last last week with Jason Jason Witten in Amari Cooper kind of given the safety a tough decision to make whatever decision he does make the go the other way so interested to see what this passing game does this week with with a guy like Marcus Williams manning the middle of the field with Marshon lattimore outside Do you think that they're going to test the waters deep like they have been or maybe scaled-back back. Take what's underneath and try to pick up some yards after the catch and go from there. I don't WanNa see this team. Stop throwing the ball down the field so I would like it now. I do like Marcus Williams. I think a little bit more than it sounds you do I'm actually a really big fan of his now like you said he's known for a couple bigs snafus defensively but I think over always good player and he's somebody who he might not have the athletic profile while but he does make up for that with his anticipation and his ability to drive on the football that you've seen that with some of the interceptions that he's made in his career so far this his one interception that he has this year was one of those plays where he just showed a little bit of range that you're you're right from an athletic standpoint. You don't think he's GonNa make but he gets on it so quick and understands what's happening now. When it comes to a guy like a Devon Smith that is something that you can take advantage of down the field if Marcus Williams is going to kind of stay square to the line of scrimmage. I mean he's going to have to open up quickly to be able to carry somebody like Devon Smith Downfield and it's it's not like Dat can't push it because that throw that he had that was almost intercepted last week. It went sixty two yards in the air. This is not the Dak Prescott of old. The Dude is chucking and that pass if there was no safety they're Devon Smith would have caught in stride so I don't WanNa see them. Stop pushing the mall downfield three four five times in this next game why why not take your chances and this is what I said in my piece that I wrote for my website when it comes to Dak Prescott is yes doc. Prescott made some not so great mental until choices in this past game but those mental choices that he made pushing the ball downfield that throw across his body trying to make a play Randall Cobb Bob. Those are the kind of place and mistakes that you're going to have to live with when your quarterback is going to take shots down the field. You cannot have your a cake and eat it too. He's GonNa make mistakes trying to push the ball. Would you rather have a playmaker or would you rather have a guy who loads up and and then decides I'm not sure about that. Window doesn't throw it and takes the sack and that's what we have to ask cowboys fans yeah. I mean that's that's. The biggest takeaway from these first few weeks is you can't you can't hype up the Plaza Dax made when he's extended plays and made big chunk plays down the field and you know tested the waters deep down the field in completed passes that you normally wouldn't and then you can't kill him when he does make a bad reed bed decision and throw pick like that you just like you said you can't have your cake and eat it too. That doesn't work that way. That's just being hypocritical and you're riding the fence and it's not you know it's not fair to him. It's not fair that team for you. Sit there and judge the decision making or shots being taken and then you know when they do hit on three later in the game the game you can't hype it up and be like. Oh my God. This is incredible so you either got to be against it or with it and with it. You have to understand that there are going. GonNa be some some place like that that you're going to throw the ball. You'RE GONNA throw the ball of the other team here and there but it's worth it when you're hitting on right now a high percentage of them and and you're not risking football much at all so I like everything I'm seeing from his offense right. Now I think this week they have really good chance to go at Marcus Williams Marshon Lattimore to go at Eli Apple through the air and when this football game again through the air and you know when they need to maybe late in the game they can turn the run game and and pick up some yards and maybe get a score and I think that's GonNa be the the way this this. This week goes but let's go ahead. Let's go ahead and give give our score. Predictions and give are X. Factors where this game we'll get outta here. We'll talk to you guys next week dot and I'll let you start it off. Yeah so I'm GONNA stick with a man I think they're gonNA continue to score thirty plus points. Even though I sat sat here and I talked about how good that defense is I think that if Dak Prescott can put together an entire football game instead of starting starting off a little bit slow as he has in the first quarter of these football games. I think they're going to score thirty one points and I think that they're going to hold the saints two to seventeen or twenty one point so my official is going to be thirty one twenty-one cowboys. WHO's your x factor in this game. Oh my ex factor in this football game is going to be cheetos the he needs to be. That's the only reason why is that he needs about Chino just needs to get his confidence back and it's kind of weird because Tito when you hear him talk when you hear him especially when he's interacting with Jordan Lewis those two are both extremely competent dudes but it doesn't look like it out on the field now. I hope that Jordan Lewis is the X. factor because that means he actually played snaps. We're going to talk about that at some point this season but it for now. I'll let it go. I'M GONNA go the cowboys winning thirty five to twenty five warning wow. I I think that I think that it's going to be a late these last few games. It's been a it's been kind of a dominant performance. Mitch from the cowboys offense. They've kind of in the last six. They benched back in the first week one and week two they were up a decent amount against Washington and kind of slowed down running the football aw gave up elites quarter redskins than last week against the dolphins. They also slowed down. A lot ran the football a lot. I think this game's going to be closer coming out of half. I think you're going to have like a fourteen seventeen game coming out of half and then you know the the cowboys office clicks in the second half the cowboys defense events steps up in the second half and they put up points and they hold the saints only three after halftime or six after halftime. Excuse me aww field goals from real lots and I think that it's going to be a thirty five twenty game thing. The cowboys pull pull ahead late. I think that X. factor is going to be. I'm going to go out. Oh I'm gonNA give you too because my first one's going to be on Austin if he plays because I think he's GonNa make an impact in the kicking game. I think he'll get some snaps on offense as well and maybe make a big player to like. We saw him last year but if he doesn't play I'm going to give you another x factor and that X. Factor is GonNa Tony Pollard. I think he has another game similar Lord of what he had last week. Maybe not as many rushing yards but he catches a few more passes. They use him in that that role man winner. They're going to start throwing him. The ball well a bunch. We had two catches on three targets last week. Yeah I mean this is somebody who I legitimately think that you could give five to seven targets a game and I think this is a game that you because there's the really hasn't been a reason to do that so far. You don't want to shy you're right. You're right you're right. This is the game where we saw it a little bit last week where they put them in. They ran that you know the the swing pass to him and they threw it to him on a screen. I think this is a week where or you're going to see. Zeke empowered in the backfield and shotgun formations. You may be some some actual routes ran from those guys. Maybe some Texas routes and I think this this is a week where Tony Pollard if Tehran Austin doesn't play as a big game catching the football getting some carries to and making some some some some good strides on the ground as well so we both have the cowboys win and we both have the cowboys improving to four no and that would be you can I can. I tell a really cool. Well Story About Yeah Tony Pollard quick so I was looking on twitter today or yesterday. I can't remember when it was in Jim. Nagy the the senior bowl director congratulated Tony Pollard for his first one hundred yard game and then told the story of how his people people Tony Pollard's people wanted them to bring him to the senior bowl as he ended up going what they wanted him to go to the senior bowl as a wide receiver and they said no we want him there as a running back so we might not even have Tony Pollard. If he goes to mobile as wide receiver Yeah Yeah I saw that the other day to and thought that was really cool because it almost sounds like he was dead set going into the NFL L. draft looked at as a slot receiver not a running back so that's that's pretty cool little tidbit that really you know like you said it makes you think that if he didn't the senior bowl running back or the cowboys thinking about drafting him in the fourth round and I'd probably say probably not after they signed Randall Cobb and traded for Amari Cooper. There probably not spending a fourth round round pick on a on a developmental slot guy. That's really been running back. Slash Lot guy so yeah. That's a cool little cool a little bit of information there from Dalton and that's all the time we have for today. We will see you guys next week. After the cowboys hopefully cross fingers knock on wood beat the saints on Sunday night in in New Orleans as they try to improve before thanks so much for listening guys. We are talking star. We'll see you guys next time..

"He's little under the weather not feeling great so hopefully he's better for this game on Sunday nights. We can all come back next week and talk about follow us all on twitter at counter. NFL DRAFT AT DAUNTON BE MILLER AT CAU l Patterson and blogging the boys you can follow the podcast on twitter as well at talking to the star our thanks so much to blogging the boys vox media for allowing us to host podcast talk some cowboys football and get our opinions out to you guys on the Airways. We want on a dive into the cowboys offense against the Saints Defense. I think the one thing we need to highlight is that the saints defense is looking like it's GonNa be out. Bb Without Without Sheldon rankings which is probably there. I'M NOT GONNA say their best defensive player but they're one be to their one. A which I still think is Cameron Jordan. shown rankings is one of the best interior defense alignment in this league is a pass rusher he can definitely dominate games especially when he's lining up. Assad Cameron Jordan or right next execute Jordan and and making that interior the offense align worry a lot about him while the tackles have to worry a lot about Jordan but I want to talk first about the secondary India for the states because I think that is a position of weakness and I know that somewhat weird to say when they have a guy like Marshon lattimore who's looked that one of the best young corners in the League but he's a guy that I think you can pick on a little bit and I think-i for Mario Cooper health healthy in Marshon lattimore travels with Amari Cooper. I think the cowboys offense wants that to happen because then that's going to open things up four Devon Smith for the maybe take on Austin's for the Randall Cobb for the Jason Whitten's for the Blake Jarmin's and that will open up things for other people as well as Latin Amari Cooper. I think do some damage as well in your viewing so far what's it's your thoughts been on marshawn landing more lan more in some of the other corners on that team. I mean I've seen that. It's it hasn't been good. Would you know he's allowed twenty receptions according to Pf you know but when I watched on the on the film I I didn't see a ton John where he was just getting crushed. You know what I mean. I it's Willie Weird. What's happening with this defense right now because they've given up some points. They've given up some yards but I I don't see where it's all coming from. What I sat there and I watched I watched a a team that kind of took away why the rams wanted to do and the only real time I saw anything big happen against that team because the rams in my opinion and it's so funny how this thing come go comes full circle because last year Jerry Jones was talking about how he saw this cowboy's team is very similar to the rams now this year that came to fruition with death by formation and kind of making things a little bit more simple simple but out of different looks so I really look to that game for what the saints are going to do on defense and I didn't see much happened except for a big play by cup out of the slot like if if I see a situation I want to take advantage of its trying to move. You've Amari Cooper around to try to against apple because apple was another guy who I think can bullied a little bit you Marshon Lattimore for for who he it is and and for you know he has kind of played up to how we believe that he is supposed to play how he played in the first first two years of his career but he can still come out and make a huge play but one of the best interceptions I've ever seen was for Marshon lattimore last year in in a cover three where there was a deep post from the other side of the field and he just free styled it went to the deep center because the center deep third guy came up on an underneath ride. It was very much like the two crossers that the cowboys scored the touchdown with with Oh who was that Devon Smith Yeah the Devon's method down it was very similar to that and he dropped the whole way back because there was nobody nobody on his side of the zone and made that interception Marshall Lattimore for for the amount of receptions. He's given up please. We can look at that all we want. He's third in targets against as well so it's not like teams aren't targeting him but I don't one hundred percent trust. PF APPs numbers. I just don't you watch the SEAHAWKS saints game yet. I watched it a little bit of it. I haven't been able to sit down and watch the all twenty two. I watched all all of the broadcast gotcha yeah. That's a game that I think that that I saw are when Russell Wilson did attempt passes which is very rare in Seattle. It seemed like like they wanted to pick on him. They wanted Apple. They WanNa have some of the other guys as well but some of the bigger players I think in that game came from Tyler Lockett lineup on more word came metcalf caught a ball at the end of the half. I want to say that was a lot more as well so that was good coverage. Though I mean that was just I was just an insane play by him no doubt but but again I think not only do I think amaury versus lattimore would be a G. I still think at the mismatch yeah yeah no no for sure but I think that if he's going to travel with amaury then that just opens up. I mean you said You WanNa get a Mario on Eli Apple which I agree with but I'd I'd like to get Devon. Smith speed on Eli Apple because I mean again. Smith can just run past. You'll apples super-quick guy kind of known for more of you know. I thought he was more of a slot coming out. Ohio state but they play him on the outside. They kind of move him around so this could be a game where you know you follow around. Cooper you you kind of maybe not lock him because I don't think he's locked down but you limit him and then the other guys should Randall Cobb the Devon Smith. Maybe maybe the tape on Austin's this could be a tape on Austin game if he does make it back from that concussion. US could be a game where he is utilized and we talked about the shifts in the motions those those help out with him a lot when he can get on man coverage in the slot run pass guys and maybe take some shots with him. I know you are very very in love with the Saints Front Four Without Sheldon rankings. Is that still a front four that you're really really worried about. Jordan Jordan's a great player but in the viewings. I watched you see Cameron Jordan. You see spurts of Marcus Davenport but I'm not not not saying they're bad by any means but I don't know if I like them as much as you do. What do you like so much about that front four for the Saints Yes. I really liked specifically what they did against the rams may lined up with six or seven guys on the line of scrimmage and really took doc away with the rams wanted to do and that's run their wide zone in in the rushing attack now when it came to the passing attack. I mean Cam Jordan was just US eating rob having Stein's launch I mean he was destroying him quickly. I'm real this is going to be the first really a big test for Lyle Colin to probably played the best of any of the cowboys lineman like he's been really really good so far this this year and we know that he's a monster in the run game so. I'm really excited to see that matchup specifically on the other side when it comes to markets Davenport you know that he is that high end athlete who is a really tools e but really hasn't put it altogether as a pass rusher yet but what has tyron tyran. Smith had trouble within the past couple of years that speed and if he can get around the edge we might have a couple issues now the difference between years past and this year his Dak Prescott likes to step up the issue with that against his defense is you have still some really good defenders on the Interior as as well. You have guys like Malcolm Brown. You have guys like David who I saw had some really heavy hands couple times if you're able to line him up against Connor Williams in the past game. You might have some issues because we've seen Connor Williams have some issues with those powerful guys still this here and it's not like Connor. Williams doesn't have the strength to hold up. He's just bending at the waist and that's bad he's he's. He's so athletic just so impatient if guys are on him immediately. He has issues because he's reaching nets not good he doesn't need to do it needs to fix that. The other guy is Mario Edwards junior another really high ceiling guy that never really worked out but he's two hundred and eighty pounds and he rushed from the interior the he can get on you quick so I it's really on. I'm wondering with that many guys or are they going to keep Ezekiel. Elliott in a little bit more this week to try to help chip on the outside. Are they going to try to keep him on the inside and try to help out Connor Williams. Are they going to roll out. Dak Prescott a little bit more now. If we're going to strictly talk about the run game this week I wanna see more of that speed option because against that seven man six and seven man line of scrimmage that they're I think they're going to run on defense. You need to get to the outside quickly because with those linebackers being up on the line. You're guys don't have to make it to the second level. It doesn't allow the linebackers to free flow to the football so those edge defenders enters really have to set a hard edge for it to work and when you have Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott both being able to carry the ball on a singular play. That's an issue you for those edge defenders that ends defend who was not going to be blocked. He's going to have to make a decision and it's not like that can't run because he can be other thing. I would like to see our quick tosses losses out there giving those hog molly's on the outside to block those smaller guys on the outside the guys like I mean can you imagine watching ally apple get hit by Liaqat Up Pooling Lyle Colin how much fun that would be to watch yeah yeah. You actually didn't even mention one of the players who I think has been really good for the saints and that's Trey Hendrickson think he's a second year player who's a draft for the saints last year. I WANNA say so. He's a guy that seems to show up a lot in pass. Rushing down comes in pass rushing. I Yeah I have noticed him. I didn't bring him up but that's because I was bringing up every single and that's the thing is that's the thing about them. is they have a ton of debt like they have some good players they do and and he's a guy that you'll see third downs a lot and he's got. It's made some plays for the saints early on and he's affected the pocket and he's a guy that I think look you know kind of what you were staying with. Davenport a quick guy that has some link through on that could maybe give Tyron Smith and Lyle Colin some issues but he's big to two hundred and seventy pounds not a small no on he can move and he's he's long and he can he can rush in different ways but I think the I think the most disruptive Saints Defender so far outside of Camp Jordan and has been to Mario Davis a guy that they signed from the jets not too long ago and free agency and he's just been a machine for them attack machine a guy who can really make an impact impact the run game. I know you talked about a little bit about you know work in the outside edges of the run game maybe more so than running in between the tackles and running right at the Mario Davis's Davis's outside of Davis Anti Tayo their player who hasn't really turned out to what the League thought he would be but I think Davis is a guy who can really shutdown run game. I think he's a guy that you might contest and coverage a little bit more than the run game which your thoughts on this cowboys run game kind of running straight at Mario Davis is. Do you think that that's a a a a strength for this team. Maybe putting tomorrow Davis in a position into have to make those plays or is that something you'd like to avoid for me until this offensive line proves that there's somebody on a defense that they can't block. I don't care what they do in the run game. I mean let's be real does equal. Elliott is a top three running back in the NFL objectively speaking that that's where he's at and he could literally have sixteen hundred heard yards this year on like two hundred fifty carries because some of these holes and and with the uptick in competition that the cowboys are going to face. Maybe things get a a little bit more difficult but I haven't seen anything yet. That makes me think that they can't block anybody. I mean they're literally having their way with these defenders play after play after play in the run game so until they until the defense proves that there's somebody not that you can't run at just run it..

"What's going to happen in that is they're. GonNa start out slow if they they don't play well because they have started out slow in the first couple of weeks of the season can't have that happen. They need to come out and go quickly. Go L. Hard. What what was your thoughts on. Seattle going into week three and I don't know what to think of Seattle Man I. I had them going seven and nine to start but like I didn't I mean we thought that this was going to be a bottom five roster last year in the seahawks and then they ended up making the play offs so I don't really know what to think of them like they have Russell Wilson and Russell Wilson is great but they want to run the ball on first and second down every single drive live and then just like here Russ. Please save us at the end and I I can't see that being sustainable even when they have guys like Tyler Lockett who gets opening decay metcalf who is the perfect wide receiver four Russell Wilson him having such a good deep ball him being six three three to thirty in running a four three you would expect for that guy just WanNa see 'em slain it and they don't they just give if the motor critic carson to run for three yards carrying then fumble the football like I don't know man they frustrate me. I expected the saints to win that that game. I just didn't expect it to be as big as a at. The final coming got giving that the the punt return touchdown and getting you know a couple of turnovers over says that really helps so no. I know I just I figured I don't. I don't see the cat yeah yeah I mean. I don't see the cowboys making bad decisions like that don't but let's let's dive into the exit. XS and Os and the outlook for this game again. It's a Sunday night game. The cowboys will travel to New Orleans will be on the road in a pretty hostile environment to take on a still very talented. NFC teams so it's GonNa be a big game for for the cowboys obviously a chance to kind of make their mark on the league because so far in week three they as much as I hate. They haven't really played anybody. They have it. They've dominated those guys and that's it's okay. It should give them some credit but this is our first real test of the season it would it'd be a huge statement for the Dallas to go went to New Orleans in really make a statement to the NFL and hey you know this is this is legit. Where legit were for real. I watched some of the offense. Today I know you've you've probably watched some of it as well of the saints last week. As we mentioned it was a lot of shutdowns. It was a lot of dinking dunking. I think Russell Wilson Only through Guan Ball over twenty yards and two balls between ten and fifteen years. Wait wait you mean Teddy Bridgewater. Yeah sorry sorry bridgewater so the shot. I have yeah so I his passing chart up. He did not attempt to pass pass twenty yards steepest past eighteen yards along the left sideline that was his only passed over fifteen yards and then the only other pass are there were two other passes over twelve yards. There was one just past ten so only four passes asses past ten yards past the line of scrimmage and there were one two three four five six seven eight nine nine nine passes prior to the line of scrimmage nine of US twenty seven times and as you mentioned you know Rod Marinelli Crystal Shard even Jason Garrett is is going into this game thinking. That was a condition game or they were up early. They had some defensive touchdowns. Were they felt like the game was probably already in the books by halftime so they weren't gonNa make tunnel huge risk so I'm sure they're assuming that the that's going to change a little bit but can you really do that. I mean it's it's Teddy Bridgewater. He's a backup quarterback. He's never been known for just slinging the ball on the football game plan for something similar to that and that should should be relatively easy again. I Know Alvin Kamara is electric. Michael Thomas is a top three or four wide receiver in the NFL but it should should be relatively easy to defend. You need to be smart in the way you defend this team. You know you need to be smarten in the way they did things last year with with putting Jordan Lewison in the dime packages and shadowing Alvin Kamara and taken Byron Joe I mean this is a game where I know they're not going to but I would follow Michael Thomas with Byron Jones and then just locked down on that player in and then you have creek wants Smith and Ted Ginn to force those guys to beat you the bill belichick way force take the best player out of the game and enforce the other guys that beat you think you'd have a good recipe for a win if you do that but we know that that normally doesn't happen with Rodman Ellen Chris Rashard but what's your thoughts on defending this the saints offense yes so what I would like to see them. Do is even if they don't. I mean 'cause they're not gonNA Byron's not GonNa Follow Michael Thomas. It's not gonNA happen what I would like to see them. Do is run a lot of cover one and take that middle of the field away with one of the linebackers preferably in the zone coverage be Jalen Smith because you would rather have latent vander ash in man coverage against whoever ever he is going to be covering whether it be a tight end or Alvin Kamara will latavius Murrieta the backfield now. Unfortunately I can't see them with Alvin Kamara. Mara getting more snaps this year than he has in the past and getting a little bit bigger workload. I can't see them just shadowing him with Jordan. Lewis again this here. I think they're going to outsmart themselves and try to not do that. I think that what they are going to try to do is try to run a lot of zone coverages and and try to overload underneath routes. I think that they're going to try to run a little bit more complexity in the secondary and trying to confuse teddy bridgewater a little bit and just try to make something happen when it comes to possibly giving a turnover on a quick pass what we can't do as we can't sit here as as fans commentators analysts whatever you are and be upset when this team is able to get to any because I don't think that they are going to drop back back and really try to push the ball downfield because I don't think that they're comfortable with that so he's GonNa. Try to get the ball out quick and when you get the ball out quick. You're not going going to get home enough so all that they can really do is send four guys get. The rest of the guys in zone. Coverages run a little bit of cover one one. That's what I would do. I would run cover one and try to take the middle of the field way force him to work outside the numbers and then if you have Michael Thomas in the slot or on the right side against cheeto Tuesday just shade whoever the safety is over to that side ransom too high and bracket high low oh with cover too as well and there's a bunch of things that you can do you just. I don't think you're GonNa get home on them. So just play it safe. I and I hate to say that because I want to be aggressive on defense and you can do it with mixing up your coverages but I don't see them really throwing. A ton of bullets is out of all can give up is a big play on on on a yaqub yards after the catch. If something goes wrong you might as well just have an outlet because they're not gonNA consistently only beat you deep yet. I think this is a game as well that you might see a lot of these. These addresses dropping into coverage on third downs. Maybe instead of like you said that being aggressive aggressive sending the blitz and opening up some running lanes for Teddy Bridgewater no after you come after him on first and second down a little bit you know maybe you're in base. Maybe your nickel you. You send your your rushers. Maybe on third down you know save a third and mediums instead of bringing the Russia's you drop demarcus lawrence out onto the flat to help Kinda give bridgewater and other Manda pay attention to and sometimes that helps your pressure when you have a guy that you're used to seeing running straight achy you. CMO In the flat will then and you're Kinda like Oh crap. I got to go to my second read. I gotTa go through my progressions quicker because I can't check it down Kamara because I got two guys now covering him and and that could help some of your pressures but I agree you know. I think that I think you're not gonNA see quite as many check downs as you saw against Seattle but still going to be a high percentage and it's still going to be a lot of short passes and I think the bad thing here would be to send a lot of blitzes in the middle of the field wide open for Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas and even the the titans to get open in the middle of the field and break a couple tackles and then you're you're giving up big chunk plays which is something that's defense has to get better at because that's been the one that's been the one one big issue with his defense is they've had the the chunk place to Terry maclaurin. They have the chunk place to devante Parker and Preston Williams and they have to avoid those especially against teams like the saints who once they hit a couple of those. Maybe they get some confidence build up. Maybe they feel a little bit more confident in their offense and then they start taking some shots. That's the last thing you would avoid this game. You don't WanNa you don't WanNa get the saints offense on a roll with Alvin Kamara the pass protection the wide receiver they do have and and then it turns into a shootout even though we feel a little bit more confident in this offense in a shootout which is what we're GonNa talk about. "All right. Triple eight nine hundred thirty three ninety three. So like. The Rams are gonna sit on this lead looks like they're gonna. Yeah, we're gonna they're to. We're not gonna have time stall the game out is what's happened. The clock the clock just stopped. So yes. I hate this. But the final is eight to four Los Angeles. Yeah. So more on trivia is predicting that the Rams will defeat the New Orleans Saints that I don't like it at all going to be rooting against Moore interview this weekend. Yeah. So I know what rooting against Moore. You Pat, it won't matter could route a good science think the Rams are going to beat New Orleans. They didn't last time. So so. I know it's playoffs. The playoffs. Bro. And you got drew Brees against Jared Goff. I'll take his everyday all dad Goff. You bet. I know I'm picking picking drew I, and I, but I was I kind of thought the kind of kind of the same thing against the colts. And they destroyed the first game was great for both quarterbacks breeze. If I remember right had something like four hundred eighty seven yards passing or maybe that was the total yardage, but they were both way over both way over three hundred yards. I think and bowl teams were close to five hundred yards of total offense. It was a it was a great game. And so the the other game was a New England Kansas City. The season two. So it'd be a couple of really good games on Sunday. Looking forward to it that Patrick Mahomes is just is a talent. He's unbelievable talent. I know guy can run he's letting he can throw every pass pretty much with both hands without looking no look past. Yeah. He's he's really fun to watch is he's he's a special talent. So and then you got Brady, and and you can never count him up every time they do, and they did again this year, I know season law, even with, you know, even with our stupid little football thing that we do here of the season, which by the way. View are the one that owes looked from. Yeah, we're still. But again, we we joked about it. I picked New England to be a plus eleven point five. What were they eleven? I lost that they want eleven over eleven. I mean every year every year. It doesn't matter. Patriots fan was telling me, and I haven't verified this. But yeah, the patriots their only losses this year where two teams that didn't make the playoffs. Really weird. So get up for probably. Yes. I remember that that was one of our more on tributes here. The arrogance in game as always all right? See?.

"Sure your job was playing bass nope nope ncaa does not look nicely on the buzz williams if you're if you're listening as superfan of the washington generals i'm no longer eligible to play in the nba okay what are you gonna other cooler i do my next cool thrown is going to be okay because they finally binged their loss and they came back and defeated at unbc in in cybersecurity how nice a cybersecurity world series and you and bc was the defending champion so it was almost like a sixteen seed taking out a one seed and they beat them it's it's like e sports that's so basically all fair yes nobody remembers that yep is it i got one more my other cool thrown is being ladylike because the new orleans saints fired their cheerleader because she posted a picture of herself in swimsuit to a private instagram account that was can't do it so you got to those we'll probably chertoff to that guy to learn if you're going to show your skin it better be on camera on either for the new orleans saints swimsuit catalog or for the nfl if they have a camera on you on game they ask you question just because rules ridiculous doesn't mean you have to follow that's that's the mark slayeth yeah yeah a hundred percent of rule one other fun rule that they have is if you're a cheerleader in the nfl and you're out to eat at a restaurant in a player walks into that restaurant you have to get up and leave the mike pence because you're not allowed to fran is yeah river yes i like that rules.

"Uh on draft day honestly i mean uh here's here's who i would uh i said it on dr david draft night when they made it the deal would go to go get him in a third round um i i said he was going to be a rookie of this class that at the the biggest impact right away just because who was calling the plays who's getting the ball to them uh and drew brees so uh i i think a lot of people felt like early on that he knew he had some special things from from our kamara but i don't think anybody could have predicted this and really such as his ability but his ability coupled with mark ingram in and that tandem that allowed in the trade openly adrian peterson they'll get hall of famer so uh i i you know i think that that that tandem is is one of the best in the league down here they're they're known as booming zoom you know you coming skin night chris than you just mentioned the fact that uh the new orleans saints really didn't have a vertical threat form the tied in standpoint but we saw teigen gene pretty much get involved with the offense today four receptions seventy six yards in a test out could champagne utilize him in that role out of the slot because we know that he's a burner and we've seen him with previous teams that he's been with current can now he make up for the lack of ability in production from the tynan standpoint i guess you could take engineers have inspect your best year of his career down here in new orleans the terms of the drops la carolina in miami yet drop issues early in his career he's been pretty steady ordering them a lot they just don't uh i don't know if that's game plan oriented i don't know if we will change because of the lack of tight end of the offense but i guess it could be um now he's always been even this year vinet vertical threat on depots patterns.
