8 out of 10 Largest U.S. Cities Lost Residents During Pandemic

"And the pandemic revealed that a lot of people kind of already knew that their city's kind of suck We got the Census Bureau just putting out some population estimates and it showed that 8 of the ten largest cities lost residents And of course more than those 8 loss residents Now they look from July 2020 to July 2021 So we're talking about the height of the pandemic New York lost 305,000 residents That's two and a half percent of the 2020 population You look at Chicago they lost 45,000 LA 40,000 San Francisco as a city Lost saw the largest rate of decline 6.3% of its 2020 population that's about 55,000 residents When the pandemic happened you know I was really just focused on living in my kind of shoebox environment And really kind of COVID gave me a chance to kind of look for a little bit more space Like it's not just about space So he lived in San Francisco talking to CBS News He lived there up until the pandemic and then he kind of realized something At the end of my time living in San Francisco I almost felt like the city was kind of like chasing me out They kind of were like they weren't chasing you up They try to chase out people who maybe are not completely in line with their vision And unfortunately the vision in so many of these cities is what it has become filled with homeless people filled with death from overdose and yet weirdly you're paying $2700 for that 500 ft² apartment People realize very quickly Once they couldn't actually get out of their apartments that the city doesn't offer them much

"Of us are headed into Memorial Day weekend with a heavy heart. I'm going to be with friends and family. It's birthday weekend for my twins. And we're going to have a little New York celebration. A little dinner over at Tony's denapoli. I got to get all the PhD approved. I know what I'm going to have to some Caesar salad, and I was a little chicken parm, can have a vegetable dish with some penny Ali vodka sauce. No pasta, but that's all right. I just saw Joe Piscopo down the hall. He said, holy cow, you are a shell of your former self losing over 50 pounds so far on PhD and I'm loving it. But of course, my heart is heavy. I'm glad I'm going to spend time with my kids. My granddaughter this weekend. I'm glad I'm going to be with my dear Friends peg and Joey Hudson on beautiful, beautiful Lake QE over Memorial Day.

Former Police Officer Suggests Armed SROs in Schools

"Give us our help me give Tom a warm welcome to the ocelot show. How are you doing, Tom? How you doing? I'm doing well. I'm very interested to hear your take on all of this stuff, man. You're a law enforcement experience. I had 7 years on the police department and you've had several decades on the police department. What's your take on this shooting? What do you think this means for Democrats and the left and what tactical things do you believe could have been done differently based on the information that you have? Well, I did a Fox show today and I got 20 irritated because right away they're asking me about New York Times and their story about the officers moved fast enough. They were outside too long. I'm sick and tired of people that want a second gas police officers when they're in middle of a tragedy like this. Look, how many how many people in The New York Times have been pushed out? But going through the hip and running too fire, running the gunfire, and I run away from that run towards it. So here's what I think. First of all, we talk about schools. I've said this for the last three months. The schools need to be hard. Look, we got armed officers protecting our banks, protecting our money. We got armed officers protecting politicians. We had armed officers that shopping malls and movie theaters. I don't think that we got the greatest trench on earth. You got a lot of retired police officers. They're mandatory. Many departments like the feds were mandatory 57. I see a lot of retired friendly agents. I would love to keep doing something, but the rules prevent it. We allow the target military to serve their community still. So I think there's enough retired police retired military that would be glad to act as an school resource officer. And that does a lot of things. Number one, you know, a lot of high schools have much I think it's time for elementary schools have and I think the parents would feel safer being their kids off to school. I think the kids would be safe. And I also think it will help rebuild the relationships between the community and the police departments at the left, the progressives have destroyed in the last several years. I call them for defunding the police because what happened Ferguson, because you got one to two bad cops, they want to call the whole institution

Gun Laws Should Be Reasonable, Not Politically Convenient

"Telling you about the difference between The Wall Street Journal editorial and those of the others Washington Post New York Times LA times doesn't matter. Theirs is all about guns. By the way, I am receptive to the idea that guns would be available only when you're 21 years of age. Or at least some restrictions, but there is a problem. It is a constitutional problem. The constitution says that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. We have people want to pass an amendment, saying that in that case, it's 21, the danger with that, however, is that there is no instance in the history of the left, that they stop, then it's like civil rights, it all began with the completely morally correct law of not discriminating on the basis of race. The idea that human being because of his or her skin color can not stay at a hotel, is obscene.

"There's also a troubling bit of information from Yuval day coming out that the police reportedly, according to The New York Times anyway, and I don't think The New York Times is particularly pro police. So maybe take it with a grain of salt, but the report is that the police took over 40 minutes to enter the building. While he was in there with those terrified children. Outside the school, it's not clear according to the reporting if there was gunfire exchanged. There is, and I say this with a heavy heart because I'm pro police. And these are men and women who go to the to go into danger regularly, but you know, one of the catastrophes of Columbine is that those two monsters were able to do whatever they wanted for a long, long period of time. "The federal government is trying to make Pfizer's COVID antiviral treatment more accessible The White House announced steps to make the antiviral treatment packs low bid more readily available across the U.S. as it projects COVID-19 infections will continue to spread over the summer travel season The nation's first federally backed test to treat site is opening today in Rhode Island providing patients with immediate access to the drug once they test positive More sites are set to open in Massachusetts Minnesota and New York City The drug which has been found to reduce severe disease among 90% of patients is now available at almost 40,000 pharmacies White House coordinator doctor Ashish jha says getting a vaccine and booster shots is still the best way to protect against the virus confirmed infections in the U.S. have quadrupled since late March to more than a 105,000 a day That's a likely undercount because so many rapid tests go unreported but deaths have declined steadily to fewer than 300 per day just as this is the first time those two metrics have not trended together I'm Jennifer King

"You're that's too narrow of an assumption. I always assume what did the government do to create this problem and most of the time. I'm right on this. And i'm sure regulations and i'll Plus the huge benefits. You get if you're unemployed. Especially with covert There's less incentive to to go get a job but under these circumstances. Guess what these restaurants if they're trying to open they need to hire somebody specifically to be the doorman and it has to be more than one they have to check these people and that's where the people are getting upset. You know because that's the doorman who's hired by the restaurant here Is is there to try to protect themselves and try to get you know solve this problem but so they have to hire more people to do this. The other thing that it's part of this deal to is back to the stupidity of treating children as if they are a A very very dangerous group of people And and it never stops matter what the statistics shows. We have to give make sure they're all you know where in mask and you get vaccinated and all these things. Certainly some states are a lot worse than others but New york city now a saying if you're twelve years older you have to have You have to have a vaccine and And for any type of indoor activity so it's back if they're you know there's an exit from people from new new york but not enough. I mean it's just such a shame. But i i understand the difficulty in doing this because the people who are willing to do probably have the have the the resources to move about and move their jobs and do this kind of thing and the average person doesn't and yet You know they care about the children. We have to protect the children but how often they really talk about. You know the severe psychological impact on children and how about the part. That isn't quite as severe where some have already been known to commit suicide so it is a big problem in that doesn't even phase them because they're saving their lives. We're taking care of them and we cannot trust the gover- with the parents To do this we have to do it for them. And and now the hysteria about if a parent goes it a meeting and complains about some of the stuff. They're teaching then. It's announced you. Parents don't have any right to interfere with what we teach your children. That's where the problem is that authoritarian approach to who really should be in charge of raising children. Yeah it's disgusting Especially when you bring in children into this mess So what it's up to the parents. You gotta stand up for your children. The next thing. I was going to bring up dr paul. "Some actors you know they take it a little too seriously and some of them that works in some of them. It just kills them you know yes yes sometimes. It's abandoning the obsession of this thing. That we know is gonna make us happy. That for step is to just say do. This is not the thing and the more that you stay in this business with people being very successful With a lot of money or fame. Or whatever i mean let's face it. Some of my most financially successful friends are the most unhappy. So this is not gonna make you happy you know you got to find the happiness from the coffee at crafty not the not the actual booking of the job. It's the people so yeah. Yeah there's a lot of problems with actors who kinda you know. They're in their first five ten years and they it. It's i think it comes down to. We worked so hard to get to a place where we can actually make money now. It's the pressure's on to do well and We forget that like this is just a job and this is just what you do and then you're done today and then you go off and do other things. It's not it's not brain surgery you know. Sure sure okay so so. Let's talk about Problems like onset. Have you ever encountered problems from from actors where everything could have been avoided. Dc problems with ego and preparedness. I mean that's a huge thing. They say they say. And i know this is totally false. But they say you can tell the difference between la actor and a guest star at a new new york guest star if they're learning their lions in the makeup. Chair there from la. It's like there's there's the joke that actress we want the so bad yet every time that you know so as far as preparedness goes do you. Do you see that a lot where actors like. I should've should've spent a little more time on this So i have directed things where i've never seen people more prepared in my life but i've also produced things where like you're wondering what the fuck is happening but majority of the time. It comes down to the age of the actor right. If you're dealing with a twenty year old who just got one huge show in now you're booking looking for something else than you know that. That could be something that you know. Say her name her name of. Yeah i mean that's that's a huge thing or like yeah. I mean my only been with with younger actors who you know all of them under you know maybe twenty two or twenty three were just young to the industry and just got a huge movie and you know maybe it's not your shit. They really wanna do you know what i mean. It's just yeah. That's that's really the only thing. Because i feel like majority of other acts know how rare it is for for what to do. And if you book something how rare. It is to book something network. Television show how rare it is to be on network television. I mean i don't know. I've i it's funny though because when you do go into those auditioning rooms it's it's wild. How like. I'd never before echo. I've never like really sat down with light high level casting directors and you know train people in him again and again and again and you have you know thirty people a day to see. They're all kind of up and comers and they all have opinions about But it's pretty wild to see these. You know you gotta be careful as an actor because you do one thing to rub that casting director raw..

"Why are we only seeing a prominent piece on the fact that nine health officials have quit in New York nine. Top officials have quit in New York over the course of the last year because Andrew Cuomo was too meddlesome. In the States Coronavirus response that he was straight up, ignoring their data Beverly. They make claims like he didn't care what the actual data were. He was changing, closing guidance and reopening guidance on his own schedule. Based on his own assumptions, and not based on what the expert in his state experts in his state were telling him. And I give the New York Times some credit for having this piece out. They feel the writer for it even said that current and former health officials agreed to be interviewed about the crisis on Lee on condition of anonymity. They said that they feared retaliation for speaking out against the government. One quote from one former health officials said morale certainly was and continues to be at an all time low, so the fact that they don't even feel comfortable. Putting their name on this Now they sourced it with a lot of different people. So I take this seriously. But I give the New New York Times credit for putting this out in my hope is my hope is, is that even though yes, it is February, 1st. It's finally even some mainstream outlets. Even more left leaning outlets will finally report on the poor leadership at Andrew Cuomo since the virus. The damn appears to be breaking a bit because it was last week, Leticia James, the attorney general of New York, a Democrat, came out and said Wait a second, The Cuomo administration's been dramatically undercounting. The number of deaths. In nursing homes in the state of New York. And why is that important was important because Cuomo straight up, sent sick coronavirus paces back into those nursing homes. He had an order from March in which he told these nursing homes to accept these patients. You're not even allowed to test them. When they get back. You're not even allowed to test them. And then he reversed the order in May and then erase the existence of the order entirely from his website. One other issue here that deserves some notice. The vaccination distribution plan. So the state had a plan in place for distributing vaccines that they have worked up all year along the government, the governor Tor it up and came up with his own plan. Now New York has been Well documented, notably bad at distributing these vaccines so far. And here's what happened. The state had designated as a regional vaccination hub in New York City, not the city's 6000 Person Health Department, which is what the state plan was to do, but rather gave the vaccination responsibilities to the quote Greater New York Hospital Association. Which by the way, Is a multi million dollar lobbying arm. Of the hospitals in New York and is a gigantic donor to Andrew Cuomo. It has been a disaster. And why has it been a disaster because Cuomo ignored health authorities and gave the power for vaccine distribution to some of his biggest donors. Instead of the health Department, which was already ready to go. Amazing. Thank you to The New York Times for this reporting, although it comes really late as a lot of families in New York, er, probably asking themselves Where was this before My grandma died. Where was this coverage months ago. Great question. Save 50 on W Male 2020 was a tough year. Families were hit hard. Now it's time to rebuild.

"Necessarily. There's they're different forms of Section eight, but we can we have to access more. Section eight resource is to get the money that we need to fix up. Public housing in the city. It's the only way we're going to get the resources we need. So yes, I am supportive of that. But in a way that absolutely preserves every right that residents have to permanently affordable housing to stay in their homes on your point about development. I do think that again working closely with residents We can bring new housing to 90 campuses in a way that benefits residents, partly through the money it will bring to fix up the housing but also think about this. Think about all the seniors we have living in public housing, who raised their kids. They're now in a two or three or four bedroom apartment and need services as they age. What if we develop more senior housing within 90 developments that would allow them to move into much more appropriate housing for them with the services and free up a three or a four bedroom apartment for a family that's been waiting on the waiting list for a decade or more. Those are the kinds of partner innovative partnerships. That we need and and I believe is again. As I said earlier. I have a history over more than 25 years of working with resident led planning efforts. I believe as mayor, I could do exactly the same thing with public housing residents, as I've been doing in partnerships these last few years to help them understand great, innovative models from around the country, one of the things I did When I announced his eye was supported by mayors for Donovan. I'm the only candidate in this race that's worked with mayors across this country and really seen the innovative kind of things that we could learn from in New York, And as I said in my announcement speech at an old twist on Ah, saying, You know, if they can do it anywhere, we could do it here. Only better. And I really believe I'm a mayor who can bring those innovative ideas to this city on make us the leading city in the world again on public housing and so many other issues. This is w. N. Y. C FM HD and AM New York WN J T F M 80.1 Trenton. Everyone. JP 88.5, Sussex, WN J Y 89.3. Net Kong and W. N. J 0 90.3. Toms River. We are New York and New Jersey Public radio a few minutes left with Former New York City housing commissioner. Former Obama Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan, now running for mayor of New York, and we'll take one more. Call Meghan in Manhattan. You're on w N Y C. Hello, Megan. Hi. Thank you for taking my call. I have a question about the empty A. There was a conviction on five former MTV workers. Their overtime fraud alone accounted for about $500,000 in just one year. These are outrageous examples of overtime frauds in the company and over time an empty egg. It seems like it's rising over the past two years every year, it just keeps doubling. It seems like there's an ongoing issue. They seem to be constantly in debt. And now the government is going to give them $3 billion. So I have two questions one. What is your plan with performing the interior and dealing with their budget and who manages the empty A. So making it such an important question. Um, I am, uh, daily Subway Rider actually rode with my family up to the South Bronx for my announcement a couple Tuesdays ago. And I've seen the mismanagement very directly. Uh, one of the things that really separates me from everybody else in this race is I've managed the $4 Trillion federal budget. We actually Reduced the federal budget deficit faster than any time since World War two while still making big investments in the affordable health care on the affordable care act on health care on housing and homelessness on jobs, and so I have a record of being able to lead through crisis. Particularly on budgetary issues that nobody else in this race does an absolutely we need a mayor who could also work with Governor Cuomo to get this done While I have some proposals in my transportation plan that we released last week that would give the New York City more say. In how the M to is functioning so that it works better for New York City. We're going to need a mayor who can sit down at the table with Andrew Cuomo and get things done. I work with Andrew Cuomo, it HUD in the Clinton administration. When I led the federal recovery efforts after Sandy, I worked hand in hand with him very effectively to make sure that, um New Yorkers got the resource is they needed to rebuild better. So I have the record both on working with the governor and on effective management and government that I believe that we could make the subway system and empty a more broadly work for New Yorkers. I would also say, and this was a key part of my transportation plan last week. You know, uh, said you lived in in Manhattan. I was born in Manhattan. There many folks in New York who live in neighborhoods where they have everything that they need within 15 minutes. What I want to do is make sure that every New Yorker lives in a 15 minute neighborhood and has transportation, rapid transportation to jobs accessible to them. They should also have a great school. They should have fresh food. They should have good health care. They should have everything they need within 15 minutes, and that's going to take a mayor who will really focus on expanding transportation options. In black and brown communities that are too often left behind. I'm a big supporter of bus, rapid transit and would bring real bus rapid transit, not just the 14th Street but neighborhoods across the city and expanding a whole range of options. I would encourage you to go to Shawn for nyc dot com. Look at my transportation plan that we released last week and really understand how the depth of what we're proposing to make transportation work. For every New Yorker. I called it the central nervous system of the city, and it absolutely is. Last question, and we're going to give this very important issue short trip for today because of your background in housing..

In Teddy Bridgewater, Ron Rivera robbery. Derek Carr, Obviously the quarterback for the Raiders. Mario is out for a little bit. He's hurt, so he's going to miss. I believe it's the first eight weeks on my R, uh and here's one thing that's a little strange, but no preseason. There's been no film to slice up something. Derek Carr is not used to in terms of getting ready for the opponent. A lot of college or high school games. Where you just You didn't even have any film. Or don't even really know who was on the team kind of a thing, huh? And so you mean you just do your best. That's what we're gonna do. When you go out there. We're going to do our best. Darren Darren Waller, Henry Rugs, Josh Jacob's They got some weapons man. They got some players on offense that sound confident that they were not really. But he brings up a great point, bt I'm glad you play that because Think about this like it's It's a new system in Carolina. Defensively, that's all different offensively, and we know we're going to get a heavy dose of Christian McCaffrey. But it's Matt Maggie and its job Brady from Ellis, you We don't know what they look like offensively. And defensively for the Carolina Panthers. And if you're the ratings, you're like, I have no idea. We're going to see it on game day. I mean, you can't discount how hard that is to prepare for a team. You have no idea what they're going to run. You have none. You have no What? You don't know what their tendencies are. They don't even know what they might be tinkering around with, because you haven't seen it. So this game and I think all of the games this first week you're going to be interesting, a feeling out session. A cz they go. But there is some pressure on Derek Carr for sure. We know this John Bruun doesn't have And he still got six years left. Derek Carr has some pressure on him. Yeah, and I've got the Raiders is a play off team. "Brian stelter joins us. . Now he is the anchor of CNN's reliable sources, , the host of its podcast and the author of a New New York Times bestselling Book Hoax Donald, , Trump Fox News, , and dangerous distortion of truth Brian. . Thanks for being here. . Thank you so much. . So you used to be my colleague here at the New York Times way back I don't know when exactly did you leave The Times? ? <hes> twenty thirteen. . Well. . So the moment I remember was in twenty eleven when this early documentary about the Times came out called page one and there was a line in that documentary in which the leat David car says, , I still can't get over the feeling that Brian stelter was a robot assembled to destroy me. . I, , haven't forgot that line. . Because I wonder if you're secretly three people you host. . A Show on CNN you write a daily newsletter you host a weekly podcast you have two small children, , and somehow you wrote a book on this extremely fast moving subject. . That is Donald Trump. . How did you handle that the two small children is the fun part they keep me <hes> saying you know David used to say I still miss him so much used. . To say, , what do you think the story is that I should tell us to say to sources you know if you were writing the story what would you right and that is what I was doing with folks at Fox News and these themes kept coming up especially last year, , which compelled me to go and try to get a book deal I think it. . was last that I wanted to do this and more that I felt like someone had too i. . hope that doesn't sound too cocky but it's true. . There's some things in life. . You just feel like the gotTa go tell this story and I think the only untold story of the trump era that's left maybe is the story of his boxers addiction so I did. . Carve out time in between my other jobs and and frankly wants the pandemic send us all home. . Put us on lockdown just grateful that my wife was able to help with the kids when I was having to finish the final chapters of this book. . So what is that story the relationship between Donald Trump and Fox News obviously, , it's the full subject of your book. . People who are even casual viewers are news consumers are aware that there's a close relationship there yes. . I think we all are aware that the president gets fed information and misinformation from Fox but I think it's even more extreme and even more dangerous than people realize it happens more often and the connections or even cozier than than folks realize I oftentimes in coverage. . Of the White House reporters leave out what I think is the key piece, , the key ingredient, , which is he got that idea from Fox. . He gained that idea from foxy gained that conspiracy theory from Fox and with this pandemic this year staffers at Fox told me they felt like the coverage was hazardous to our viewers. . The coverage was dangerous. . The coverage was unforgivable. . I really just tried to step away just the Messenger for these anonymous sources mostly anonymous did speak on the record who felt like the coverage is hurting the country. . All right. So . a defender, a , Fox News skeptic cure might say so what trump follows Fox News is leads you know democratic presidents in the past have taken their cues from the editorials editorials of the New York Times. What's . the difference? ? I think. . It's so much more intense. . Now, , Fox's influences constant when trump threatened North Korea, , and said, , he had a bigger button than Kim Jong Un. . It was because of a Fox segment when he grants pardoned, , it's because Fox when he attacks big technology company because of Fox, , when he raged about migrant caravans, it , was because of Fox and it's not that he's getting the best possible information still from the best sources in the world know he's getting it from a bunch of of. . Who oftentimes misinform him think? ? That's one of the differences between this White House and past white houses Braga Obama was he washed ESPN in the evening rather than MSNBC tours w Bush might have watched some Fox but he wasn't consumed by it. . The way that this president is so it's an unprecedented relationship really is

"By the way likewise China. Just is it quit pro quo. Quid pro quo. Those bombshells led to trump's impeachment. But you can see. The polling numbers barely moving previously. Obviously Democrats have looked to the impeachment hearings to sway public opinion. Now there's talk the Senate trial could do the trick and that might happen. But there's another tactic that has already succeeded in pressuring and even removing heads of state in other countries a tactic trump's opponents aren't deploying yet mass protests that's right friends mass protests that. That's what they WANNA do that. That's their secret. Tricky Tricky Gi way to beat Donald Trump and drag him down mass protests. Do you know the parallels who with Great Britain or are fascinating and There was a massive lament last week. among one of the socialist groups in Great Britain that they had mobilized millions of people to March in the streets against Boris Johnson and they had a mobilized millions of people to sign petitions and they had hundreds of thousands of people contribute money to the effort to defeat. Boris Johnson they had mobilized democracy that I guess I shouldn't say it was the lament that was actually the tweet they had mobilized democracy except they lost they lost the mass protests did not work They haven't worked in this country. I mean mean for God's sakes you you've got the Democrats out there. Doing mass protests against the president for running concentration camps along the southern border. They're not even impeaching for concentration camps it says if if the Democratic leader I don't believe the protesters and that largely is the problem. Here is the Democrats in this country have have they've traded religion for politics so you and I might get up on Christmas morning or go to a Christmas Eve Service yes we. We had a beautiful Christmas Eve. Service at our church and making For Christmas Eve. And everybody's there you do the candle-lighting you seeing Silent Knight if anything has gotten almost two program to this point but it's a wonderful search service in what is the corollary among secular atheists. These days they go mass protests. They they spend their time trying to argue with people at Christmas and that's actually rather off-putting but they also that they. They spend their time in their secular rights protesting. And they don't actually show up and vote or they do and it turns out the public's not aligned with the New York Times and we're going to spend time on this tomorrow. The New New York Times has a deep dive on who Democratic voters are and one of the interesting things is they point out that Democrats on social media are far armour likely to be rich white people who are far left then. Democrats not on social media if you're a democrat. WHO's not on social media? You tend to be more moderate to conservatively oriented. You tend to be more open to the pro-life 'cause you tend to be more likely to be black or Hispanic. You tend to be more likely to be middle class. And that's not translating into into democratic power right now. That's why Joe Biden's got to thread the needle carefully. The problem is though that if Joe Biden goes too far left to rally the Progressives he alienates himself from these other people if he stays with those people he alienates himself from the progressives in it's the progressives who were vocal and social media who are shaping aping the media narrative and then that is why the media narrative is not reflective of America's a whole. Hold that thought tomorrow seriously. We'll get back to this tomorrow. It's a fascinating deep dive. We need to have a great rest of the day..

This language between the United States and China upping the ante. You got money paps getting into some of those havens out that you would have thought that anyway, just to quickly having the Likud what's going on with the gold price, and it is up for the moment up to thirteen hundred bucks. But the other big winner, and it would be completely countering should to bitches. Perhaps acting like a haven the one to question whether it ever will be is bitcoin up to eight thousand falling off by quite a bit of a two percent. But Cindy, one of the major beneficiaries what unav- is happening. I completely agree. Looked at bitcoin to pass eleven twelve days is up every day. Has to become. So it went from fifty five thousand dollars thousand dollars a coin to now eight thousand coins and come down thin. Honestly, I think maybe there's some moving Asian counterparts into the coin. And that's why we've seen this slow slow drag up and in the price. But you've got me like everyone else, I think many people are parking money into bitcoin as temporary basis just because they don't know what else to put their money or that Brian. And I were talking earlier about the possibility. I mean, if you look at the u on weakness that may be folks on the mainland are using it as a way to get out of China. Yeah. "Campaign coordinating with the Russians. Now, we know today after Bob Muller's investigation that there was not direct coordination between the campaign and Russia, but in the summer of twenty sixteen the FBI did not know that they just knew that there was a lot of smoke and that they need to dive in and try and figure out what was going on. That was Mike Schmidt. He works for the New York Times. Let me. Let me just back up and tell you what's going on there. And that was I the president. Of course, they were spying on his campaign that that is not even in doubt at this particular point. They did it numerous ways. And then you've got this New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt, literally spinning that the FBI was on the Trump campaign to learn about Russian interference. Did they have warrants for these spies when they sent Stefan helper to go after Carter page, and George popadopoulos and Sam Clovis were there warrants involved in any of this? Now, there were different ways that we now know they were spying on the campaign. Of course, there's the the phony Faiza application that got into Carter pages personal life and all things in in terms of his relation to the campaign at the time. And we now know that they committed a fraud on the FIS court. They never told the court that Hillary Clinton paid for what the New York Times is now suspecting his Russian disinformation in the dirty Russian dossier part one they didn't tell the court that she paid for part two. And when they got the FIS approval it was all based on a fraud. And if anyone else if anybody listening to this program lies before court, I promise you there will be real significant consequences. That's not something that has ever taken lightly. So those people that signed off on it and remember to they didn't verify it, and they didn't corroborate it. And we now know it's unverified a bowl in large part because oh, that's right. Even the author of the dirty Russian dossier Hillary paid for Christopher Steele. He doesn't stand by his own document. All right now, take it a step further because the new. New York Times and Michael Schmidt. Who you heard they're trying to get ahead of this whole story, you know, and a red state pointed out today's been the lead author of eleven stories that seem to have come directly as red state says from James Komi as it relates to an amazing trail of Komi leaks to be cited. But anyway, they team up to write this report. And you know, they're saying that one member of the Trump campaign George popadopoulos targeted for spying yet in another way. But in a similar way in and maybe not duplicate duplicated. But the conversation taking place at that London bar in September twenty sixteen you know, here it is George popadopoulos is just sitting across the table from somebody has no idea. He's being set up some blonde woman. And is somebody saying former Trump campaigned visor came on came in there into the bar, and the FBI was there to literally set him up and the woman who use the name as return was working for the feds when she posed as a research assistant wanting to discuss foreign policy with popadopoulos and Turk whose real name is unknown traveled to London to work with the Cambridge professor Stefan helper, we've talked a lot about longtime FBI informant who the feds had told that set up a meeting with popadopoulos, but the feds learned nothing of value when popadopoulos and Turk had drinks or when popadopoulos later met with helper at a hotel in London and Turk returned to the US. George popadopoulos joins us. Now, remember is the author of the brand new book deep state target. How I got caught up in the crosshairs of the plot to bring down President Trump is also here with his wife Simone over member he spent two weeks in jail over all of this nonsense. Welcome back, both of you. Boy, it gets deeper and deeper doesn't it? Thanks a lot. Sean. Yeah. How much of this? Did you know as it relates to this? This blonde spy that they sent to set you up. Sean this whole thing. My entire case from beginning until end was not preplanned and orchestrated by the western intelligence, the CIA FBI, even the guy who told me about this nonsense at the Russians had Hillary Clinton's emails Josef Mifsud. He's currently the professor in London. Just to the okay. The professor in London. So people keep forgetting who told me this information they act as if some Russian agents, hold me this information London. This man Josephson has been outed just two weeks ago. Living next to the US embassy in Rome, and he's on the payroll of CIA school in in Rome called link campus. So wherever this person was he was an operative. But I guarantee you he was not working for the Russians, and that's why Lindsey Graham and Devin Nunes have gone public now and are suggesting that that this professor was some sort of F B I asset that was used the dirty me off. Now, then we go to this bizarre meeting. I had with this Australian diplomat who that you reference between the day that he told me this information the overseas, professor told me that the Russians had our emails. I wasn't. I was contacted by US intelligence, British intelligence and us Raelian intelligence, even before the Alexander Downer meeting, which apparently triggered this whole thing. So when. When I met with Alexander Downer. I was fine on me. And I thought he was recording my conversation, and I even reported him to the FBI and Bob Muller, and I testified in front of Mark meadows, and John say saying the same exact thing that this guy Alexander Downer. The Australian was no random diplomat, and he was sent to make contact with me. Now that was in may twenty sixteen fast forward to the stuff on helper and Turk meeting in September of two thousand sixteen London stuff on helper sends me an Email unsolicited out of the blue. I have no idea who this person is he wants to pay me three thousand dollars to hear about my thoughts on the Israeli on energy business in Israel, which I was an expert on at the time and flying out to London and talk about foreign policy. I go there to London. And before I even meet with him. He says before I meet with you, you need to meet with my system to saw girl as rhetoric she meets with me at a bar in London. She's very flirting. She didn't even speak English properly. So right away. I understood that this was no Cambridge assistant, and she wasn't even American. She was Turkish. So I don't buy the story that she was actually be. I think she was CIA and might have actually been involved with some foreign intelligence. She's the one that set up this quote meeting this stayed at the restaurant. She had picked out for you. And she's taking you the text, and you said from the get-go even the text was somewhat suggestive flirtatious with put it that way. You know, a woman that basically had a central casting for spy movie, you know, blah, young blonde thirty's not shy about showing how she looks. And within five minutes. She's suggesting to you that she's available basically us, and that's why the whole thing was really bizarre. It made no sense to me. And I was laughing at off until the next day. When she goes from this kind of flirty, you know, bubbly person to them more of a cold calculated person with helper, and I meet helper and her at this private member's lounge in London travelers lounge it's like private diplomat club that you know, he was a member of and she's basically pouring coffee, and and and helper, and then just looking at me, and and just I think taking notes of some nature and smiling, and I look at helper. And you want me to tell you what I really thought initially. This is going to be a funny story. I thought they were dating I don't know what was going on. But right away. I I know she wasn't an assistant of proper assistance and helper, then he's basically belligerent. He's sweating. His body language is very off. He's castigating me for my policy positions on Turkey, which I was very hostile to. And that made it was very weird. How that was a Turkish assistant with him. I want this operation to not simply be viewed as a as a simple operation against me. But when Donald Trump tweeted last week at the British were involved in spying. Let me explain to you exact evidence of how the British were spying during this operating in London where I'm meeting stuff on helper and was which have now been outed as at least some sort of US Intel people. Just wanna be clear, you agreed with everything in Mike Schmidt article, except that you don't think it was the FBI you'd think it was the CIA and Turkish intelligence, right? Yes. Yes. I think I think CIA was working with my six. All right. Quick break. We'll come back more with George popadopoulos, his wife Simona on the other side. They'll also be telling more this story tonight on Hannity nine eastern. This is this is scary. What they're saying. And also coming up your calls and much more straight ahead. Twenty twenty s just around the corner. We have everything you need to stay informed. Watch here. The Sean Hannity show.
