"Body. Oh, wait a second, So all right. They were talking feet. Not that bottom, the other about of the other, like the bottom round similar issues to. Well, let's let's just say I had a seeks of medical attention. Well, prior medicine had to be brought back out of the medicine closet. Oh! Oh, no. That? Sadly, I don't think I know what you're getting at. So just there's there's this is beat up radio was rearing up something. Something painful from your past, rearing up. Flare up If you Jason. Jason Oh, my gosh. I made it. You're on the air, moving those who don't know Jason's called job like 15 times they kept having to put him back. That's terrible. I get home and there's a huge tree blocking my driveway. Ah, But quickly on the I have an actor, but quickly on the Sixers. I'm just really nervous with this team. I see that they lack a ton of heart. They are not playing well together like they're strangers, and I honestly think first round they're going to get eliminated. Yeah, I just I was like, I think they're going to pull it together in time. It's looking more like that. And I was so optimistic, Jason I I really was believing me. Not so much believing just projecting And being in on hoping and and it just is not manifesting in a very effective way. I don't know they don't play with purpose. I mean purposes, so okay, because it means you're trying to achieve an objective by doing something specific, many something specifics. They just they don't play together. They don't play with purpose. They just play. You know, they run some plays, but it's just nothing works. The defense has been a joke. They've given up 89 points in the last 2/4 quarters. I think it's very aggravating. It's so easy to see what's wrong with the Sixers by just watching the Flyers play because that's the way a team's supposed to gel. I agree, and the Sixers do not have one ounce of that. I agree. So my actor, I gotta say that I don't know Tillman set because I was disconnected so many times, But I gotta go with the reporter with aspirations the plate to the Los Angeles Lakers and 65 with an Afro 69 and it's got to be fleshed. Great, great. I mean, my family. I need to. I love it. I mean, we've had a lot of this watch, plus Fletch again within the last month that you had it hold it holds up. It's really good. It's just Chevy and Chevy sharks. Well, that's when he was dead Prime. Oh, yeah, it is Chevy A movie is there like it's like he gets to be himself. He's almost kind of a jerk like it's just very perfect. No, I grant All right, Let me ask question cause we have coming up that said earlier Thursday is a really big day in the NFL and frankly, every day, John until then, is because the NFL finally and they they were moving it around and reports. Where is it going to be the deadline for the opt out? And so we now know the opt out deadline for the NFL for players to say I am out because of Corona virus. I'll take some money, but I'm going to get a lot less than what my salary would have been. The deadline is Thursday at four o'clock. Now it is going to be fascinating to see in the in the next three days, moments literally, three days and three hours. Whether there will be a rash of players that opt out. We've already seen more than a handful. We've seen close toe close to two handfuls on one team with the New England Patriots. What? Eight guys? Eso there almost the two hands, which is massive. I mean, could you imagine? If the Eagles how much we would be and don't get me wrong, I will reiterate. As I've said the whole time. These players have every right to opt out. I hold nothing against him. I know begrudging on my part. But if 80 eagles opted out The major problem. I mean, we could just throw a dart boarded at, you know, 60 playersnames and be like, Oh, my God. Just lost. This guy Just lost that guy just like that, You know, you know, I hope it doesn't happen. I just know that in the next three days we're going to find out Who's out who's in I guess it doesn't even mean that finally they stay in. But as of now, the idea is gives you no assessment. It's just pulled whatever he pulled with the Met, sounded like he was mad about playing time just said OK, I now opt out, which was just Yes. Did you see that story? Oh, yeah. Well, then, did you see what Brandon Nimmo said? They're starting outfielder said that he heard that he contradicted the Mets public story, saying that he had heard that you wanna suspect's did tell the Mets that he was up to me, and he didn't just leave and that the Mets were lying which a player in their clubhouse is saying, and he's like, I don't know what's true. Bite the mess. Yeah, it's a mess. But John and bringing it back to the NFL. I mean the opt out. Ah, There are a lot of teams who've had no one opt out. You saw the chance Warmack opted out for the Seahawks former Eagle What a loss that is. Eagles often after him. They opted out of him after the Chiefs game was at 27 times opted out of never wanted our ever wanting to see him play football. Good. He was in Alabama Toe was great player Top 10 pick a car, which is rare. The fact that the Ah giantshead Nate solder opt out, You know, that helps us even though Nate solder is just a shadow of what he once was. He's not very good. As a tackle, but that's you know, starting offensive lineman for the Giants. Not there for them the Saints When I When I look at, you know, the Saints had to tight ends Opt out. I mean that. Not that they were big name guys, but I don't know..

Boston - Veteran Receiver Becomes Seventh Patriots Player To Opt Out
"So far, Seven New England Patriots have opted out, including some pretty good players on that team, too. Just today, Marqise Lee, the wide receiver became number seven, right? Was it going to mean for Bill Belgian pretty significant losses and I, each guy explained why he was doing what he was doing. And you understand that I mean, Mark is cotton. The Right tackle who's a starting right tackle? That's a big loss for them. But there's a guy that had Hodgkin's lymphoma when he was before you. New England Patriots star Patrick Chung on opting out of the 2020 NFL season
"NFL players have opted to skip the season because of the pandemic. For Patrick Chung. The move to stay home was difficult. I mean, of course, it's tough decision, you know you want to play football, but the star safety with the New England Patriots says he has a lot of high risk people at home, Baby girl coming soon. My son has a little asthma. My dad, you know, he's 75 years old, Chung tells CBS this morning. The NFL seems to be doing what it can to ensure Playerssafety. NFL Training Camp Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
"A look at the schedule and testing guidelines as things get going around the league, all players must pass three Cova tests over a four day span before entering the team facility, today and tomorrow players will. Will be tested and then return home to isolate for twenty four hours. Meetings are still virtual. After this period, players will be tested daily for the first two weeks, and then every other day. If the positive rate remains below five percent players do have the option to opt out. Really get back to that in just a moment, but first here's what a handful of head coaches are saying about today. Sorry I mean again. The emphasis will be that. We've got to follow the protocol. Be Very diligent with. That's the thing that I think that we're missing right now. A society is that. Is that not very diligent as we? Understand more and more about this. It seems that you know that that wearing a mouse washing your hands socially just. Trying to avoid large crowds You know you give yourself a chance. We're fortunate that we're testing here testing. And you know so. We're getting results quickly. Other thing that's been beneficial. Of Our and Continuing maintain, Around the League, a number of US going to have to be the best teammates we've ever been because we're GONNA have to not only take care of one another, but we're really looking after your families, too, because we're going to make the best decisions off the field and I think we've also learned you can do all the right steps, and still you know have positive tests so. We'll take them when those happen. We'll deal with them, and that's why the protocols are in place. And there's this component so far. Nine thousand nine hundred players have opted out of the upcoming season, and the list is growing some notable names here. Including Three Patriots starters also. You've heard GPS guard Lawrence do Vernay Tardif and bear stalwart Eddie Goldman. Adamant feels like this list has been growing by the minute today. Take us through exactly what the opt out means and the deadline to do so the impact of this. We'll susie this situation where I think a lot of players are concerned about what they're seeing across the country with the spikes in various states, some of these players who are opting out have friends, relatives, family members who are sick. Who may have passed in this particular case, every situation is unique and different. Dont`a hightower welcome to child in the middle of July Patrick shown is scheduled to have a child in the near future, and I think players are looking out for their safety and feel unsettled about the fact that the virus has affected certain segments of the society more of the disaffected others. It has affected the elderly, I. Think we're going to hear more and more. More about coaches around the NFL something. We're not hearing a lot of right now. It is affected minorities and I think some of these players have been scared off by and are opting for the opt out for this upcoming season. We've seen a higher than expected number of opt-outs and again players have until August third to officially. Opt Out so this may just be the beginning we have six opt outs from the new. England patriots already, and there may be more coming across the League Uzi.

"The. In cloudy now linked to the New England patriots I'm Sierra goodwill here with Evan Lazar in just like Cam Newton. It seemed like a very far fetched idea that this would ever be possible because we know the Patriots were up against it when it came to the salary cap. Now we have some money. They have some space. Why does this make center white? Could this happen in? County could potentially come to New England now while it's just I offset. Offset this is all just internet rumor in hype at this point nothing from inside the organization at saying that cloudy is a real possibility, but with that being said this is sort of that perfect storm similar to Cam Newton. Where cloudy still on the market, there's clearly some pas about giving him a long term deal I, think both injury and the global pandemic are kind of combining into this perfect storm for cloudy where teams are reluctant to give out. Out Big money contracts with big term and big years on them right now, because of what's going on with the pandemic, unless you're the Kansas City chiefs, I guess that is, and then on top of that cloudy last year in Seattle, only three and a half three sacks. Excuse me for the seahawks a year ago, not exactly big pass. rusher statistics are big pass rusher production for him to cash out in free agency so now all the sudden cloudy. Cloudy is still without a team or a couple of weeks away training camp ESPN's John. Clayton is reporting that he opening or entertaining his mind to one of those one year, proven deals similarly to Cam Newton maybe in the eight to nine to ten million dollar range, so that eight to ten million dollar range it could be affordable for the Patriots now on an incentive laden deal you offer cloudy, six or seven million dollars, base salary and the offer. Incentives are escalators hits those from production standpoint. One of those very easy ones could be that sack total you know last year only has three say this year he's going to have three and a half, and we'll give him an extra two million bucks as a not likely to be earned incentive because he didn't do it last year, and it's a really easy number for cloudy to reach. The defensive end position is one that a lot of people have talked about for the Patriots lately as a potential area for trade targeted in addition. Do you think that clowning makes sense? Football lies for the Patriots Defense. I've really couldn't create in a lab. A better hybrid defense event for bill check into Damian cloudy He is explosive. He's athletic. He's fantastic against the run. That's really his calling card. He has developed not as quite as excitingly as people were expecting as a pass rusher. Rusher I think he's not that guy on the edge. You one on one against tackles is going to beat guys, but if you move around, you move his locations alignment around a little bit, you know inside against a guard, leaving him outside and running him in the scheme pressure like a game or a stunt, or pick player or something like that he can be an absolute terror on those types of plays the ways. The Patriots get guys free for pass rushing opportunities to rush the. The quarterback is exactly how cloudy can really affect the pass rusher or affect the quarterback in the similar way, so look at Houston tape was Romeo Cornell a similar defensive coordinator to Bill Belichick who has a history here in New England obviously, there's a lot of the same schemes that they're running in use a lot of the same blitz packages. A lot of the same games are stunts along the defensive line that cloudy did very very well in Houston. That would project extremely well here. Here in New England system as well so for cloudy. I think a one year deal with bill. Belichick is honestly a blessing in disguise. Completely reset his market. He'd really thrive here. And it gives versatility has the ability to play both on and off the of scrimmage with the hand in dirt or up in a two point stands inside outside. He's exactly what bill would want. In that type of edge rusher. The question is is. Does that price come down enough for this to happen? On for all of our new, England, Patriots Coverage. You can find it on our website. Boston - Patriots’ Cam Newton Signing Made Official
"Dea think that Cam Newton on the New England patriots when everybody for the last few months or so have simultaneously thrown dirt on the Patriots and elevated the Buffalo Bills. Do you think the. You have to bet right now. Bad Online. We'll hear about them in just a second go on Ben Online. Who Are you picking in the AFC right now? Well. Let's really break down the Patriots you know we're talking about. What's going to happen now that Brady's gone? How many! Hall of Famer Potential Hall of Famer and Hall of famers and Pro Bowlers. Have left the Patriots in the last two decades. Many men meant. Yes, that's all they do. All they do is turn over personnel or for the Sidebar to that is guys. Get thrown money by other by the other thirty one teams. I'll go hill. Replicate what he did in new, England is like no, no, there's some weird Voodoo that goes on up in Foxborough. That does not translate down the Tennessee or Texas or wherever else you're talking about right, so we're not talk. You know we're not talking about. What are the dolphins going to do without Dan Marino. Because they've changed show so much personnel on the offensive and defensive side of the ball over the last twenty years that if there's any team that is poised to turn over one guy now, he's the quarterback. Obviously, that's a super important job, but if anyone has proven that, they can swap one guy out for another guy, it's the Patriots. Of Foreign. Any other organization. And proof of that for any of the cynics out there, they're ignoring I know. It was a limited sample size, but Jimmy G. One every game he ever played Jacoby perset was was good as well when he had the takeover for Brady. Yeah, it's a and you know for what it's worth. Three BLEDSOE came in way back when at the start of the Millennium and beat the steelers in in Heinz field when Brady got hurt, so there's plenty of track record that you're going to be able to plug qb in there and succeed. It is interesting though that given the way Brady plays versus the way that same position and everything else. Else but wildly different way, but people say well how how CAM GONNA fit into that New England system. Have you watched the Patriots play? They don't do the same thing weekend week out. They always change it. They're obviously GONNA change what they do to accommodate number one now.
Cam Newton's Patriots Contract Terms Include Only $550K Guaranteed
"Newton's contract with the New England Patriots contains just $550,000 in guaranteed money. There are incentives that would raise the value to 7.5 million Bill Belichick reportedly has not guaranteed Newton the team starting quarterback job at this point.
Cam Newton Rumors: Cleveland Browns Spoke to QB; New England Patriots Only Team to Make Contract Offer
"The Adam Schefter report from earlier in the week that New England was the only team to offer new in a contract in Cleveland was the only other team to even check in on him. And it just seems so strange to me that a quarterback with that type of record in that type of proven track record as a quarterback doesn't get a little bit more into any interest really around the league, would you? Put that mortar towards his perceived personality issues. I personally think that all of that is garbage that it shouldn't matter that on the field is really what should matter if he's a little quirky. Who cares? Or do you think, which also was very likely? I think scenario that it just didn't play out. The timing was bad for Newton that When the pandemic happened, and when the league basically shut down was when teams had all of these injury questions with him. Right. I think there's a lot of issues here in hand. First of all, there is a stick mount there still, and it may be just a few general managers. Maybe just one or two. I don't think I have. The league thinks he's you know a problem in the locker room. They'd be foolish to think that these guys talk to each other runaways, exactly coaches. And you know, Cam is very well respected. You've seen some of the miked up stuff. And some of the behind the scenes stuff with camp gets along great a lot of his peers not only when Carolina a swelling around the week but also ah lot in the media, too. I think it's struck me was the injury. Was just so poorly timed out from his perspective, because, you know you've got a robust quarter market. I mean, you got Tom Brady out there. You've got guys left and right, you know, making transactions for quarterbacks. To the point where your injury rehab. It's timed out just woefully bad in terms of all that market activity, and so Cam's not looking to be a backup. No speculation. He may be backing up in New England police that want to get folks I just think it times out really poorly for him this time around. So when the starting almost got eaten up in that first week or two afraid, Vincey, I honestly think it was more pin taking a step back and say, You know what? We reassess my situation. Carolina. You know, I wanted to be there, but clearly they didn't want me there. And there was a $19 million deal right there the last year that deal that I don't know Carolina or he or comfortable with, but at the same time he's now paying, you know 5 50 Base and a lot of incentive to which is remarkably low, in my opinion, got to play for Bill Belichick, and I think that's the wild card there. I'm not sure if he would play for any other teams for that amount. He sees value there. And speaking of value.

They <Speech_Male> can get sort of that relationship <Speech_Male> that he <Speech_Male> had with Kelvin Benjamin <Speech_Male> where I <Speech_Male> know. Know when you have this type <Speech_Male> of body positioning <Speech_Male> of I. Throw it to your back <Speech_Male> shoulder. You're going to catch <Speech_Male> it nine times out of ten. <Speech_Male> That's the type <Speech_Male> of kind of relationship <Speech_Male> that I think that those <Speech_Male> two can kind of glean <Speech_Male> out of this. I'm really <Speech_Male> excited to see. <Speech_Male> If Cam can sort <Speech_Male> of bring out another side <Speech_Male> and Nikiel hearing <Speech_Male> on. On top of that you <Speech_Male> have the ability with cams <Speech_Male> legs to <Speech_Male> run zone. Read <Speech_Male> to run, rpo to <Speech_Male> run different types of concepts <Speech_Male> that can get <Speech_Male> Nicole Harry opportunities <Speech_Male> to create <Speech_Male> what the ball on his hands <Speech_Male> in after the catch <Speech_Male> opportunities, <Speech_Male> quarterback cam <Speech_Male> is always good <Speech_Male> for guys that went after <Speech_Male> the cash, and that's what in <Speech_Male> the kill. Harry can do <Speech_Male> and. And I think that's what the Patriots <Speech_Male> are going to do moving <Speech_Male> forward as rely <Speech_Male> on fifty <Speech_Male> ball skills, but also <Speech_Male> realize <Speech_Male> basically Nicole. <Speech_Male> Harry is a glorified <Speech_Male> running back in a lot of <Speech_Male> ways with the ball on this. And <Speech_Male> now they got two guys <Speech_Male> that are huge <Speech_Male> great ball, carriers <Speech_Male> and Cameron to kill. <Speech_Male> That can do a lot <Silence> of different things <SpeakerChange> together. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Not The rest of this receiving <Speech_Female> core <Speech_Music_Female> <Speech_Female> still the number one <Speech_Female> guy we know.
How Will Cam Newton Make the Patriots Better?
"All right bill. We're here today to talk about the New England Patriots and Cam specifically began her. They used to film. The Cincinnati bengals sideline for which they were find over a million dollars mosque third round. Pick well the good news. Is that they've decided to uproot their entire organization and totally chance planet quarterback to bury the latest piece of evidence that there maybe not playing by the rules as everybody else. Bill Barnwell is the host of the podcast. The bill Barnwell show. You just, but there are people on the Internet positing that these events are connected. Of course. We are here today to talk about. The other came Cam Newton the New England. Patriots who could have predicted this? IS GOING TO RELEASE CAM to they're going to wait, and the Patriots are going to get him for nothing and they're going to be good. It's going to be awful in offense. It was impossible up to this point. The idea that the only team in the league that to starting quarterback might possibly make a move for the best available starting quarterback on the free agent market see Telepho-, obvious when you lay it out like that, but here's the thing it's June and according to our Adam Schefter. No other teams exception to the Browns who had some interest put in a call then New England goes out, and they get cam for basically nothing veteran minimum with incentives. How bill how? I think it's a combination of things I mean. Obviously the coronavirus has impacted team's ability to see workouts to administer physicals and Cam Newton of course as a player coming off of a serious injury, eight frank injury to the middle of his foot, which cost him pretty much. The entire two thousand nineteen season for that coming off the shoulder surgery has not been healthy in a while, and so you'd figure in a typical circumstance. He would be easy for teams to kind of see what cam has left, and then make an offer only, but there haven't really been teams able to make the sort of offers that would justify starting quarterback role. And then I think from camps perspective he rightfully would rather be making less money with the opportunity to start for the new, England Patriots say a playoff team from a year ago, then serve as a perhaps higher paid backup in a spot where he's unlikely to play. Knowing how little New England paid for him and looking back at some of the other quarterbacks who got jobs during free agency? Are there any teams that you think would have been wise to jump ahead of new? England and WHY IS IT CHICAGO? I do think that the decision to trade for Nick. Foles a player who realistically has if not Worse Injury History Than Cam Newton certainly a comparable injury history when it comes to his checkered past i. do think that the bears would have been in much better shape. Do Not trae draft pick and to sign Cam Newton for much less money than they're going to give nick foles over the next three years and I think there's a handful of teams that. That even if it happened as a backup, I think teams like the steelers. Of course you've talked about the titans as possible CAM, Newton location and I think absolutely teams like that have a veteran quarterback with a history of injuries and very little behind them in the backup role would have absolutely been smart to making move for Cam Newton, but obviously I think it's the Patriots benefit that the League has been so conservative when it's come to approach again. Let's talk about what we can expect out of canning. Which I realize, you are not a doctor, but the big question mark is you've outlined his health the last time we saw him play. Football was the beginning of the two thousand nineteen season. He only played a couple of games before his season ended due to a foot injury, he incurred during the preseason. What did you see out of Cam the last time he was healthy? The last extended stretch we saw from Cam Newton as a healthy quarterback, was the first half of twenty eighteen, and he was excellent. Newton throws. Fabio Capello Panthers one of the best teams in football at six to newton was tenth and Passer Rating Twelve Qbr and the panthers had guilty scheme that was designed to actually trying to out more quickly and leave some of the hits that candidate taking, and we saw his numbers include accordingly. SNAP TO NEWTON looking left throws it over the Middle Touchdown Greg Olsen. Cam Newton looking like a poster on feats. Assume. Thirty so frequently earlier in his career, they always posted pretty mediocre. Completion percentages in two thousand eighteen across the first half you had a completion percentage of sixty seven point three percent that was one of the best marks in football. He was averaging nearly four touchdowns for every pick producing really two hundred eighty yards per game from scrimmage. He was illegitimate MVP candidate through the first half of twenty eighteen. And then of course, the injuries struck. Labor rotator cuff just to soreness. He had a shoulder injury that led to surgery after two thousand eighteen. And then the foot injury cam stumbles Abu to the nearside. He's in trouble. Hit droplet like. Damn comes off the field limping a little bit maybe. But you tried to play through and was unable to do so.
Cam Newton joins New England Patriots in controversial one-year deal
"Gun dot com slash cadence right now and get your gen four deragon today that's T. h. e.. R. A. G. U. N.. Dot Com Slash C. A. D., e., N. C. Thera- gun dot, com slash cadence. Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has an agreement on a one year incentive laden deal with the New England Patriots, Newton thirty one was released by the panthers after nine seasons with team, including the twenty fifteen season where he was named league MVP and led the team to the Super Bowl, his last season with the team was marred by injury as he missed fourteen games with Liz. Frank injury in addition to recovering from shoulder surgery in the twenty nineteen offseason. Newton will now compete with second year. qb Jared Steadham. Steadham and veteran Brian Hoyer for the starting job replacing Tom Brady. Who of course left for the Tampa Bay buccaneers after twenty seasons in Foxborough, but reaction from fans at pundits seems to be the Newton will be the starter as long as healthy
Patriots sign QB Cam Newton to replace Tom Brady
"Cam noon has found a new home with none other than the New England patriots. While, this was a place that many people had suggested and thought about after his I think it was yeah. You least obviously after release. There was no. We figured if it was going to happen, it would have happened already, but I guess the pages take time. Do they do diligence? Make sure in fact that he was healthy 'cause he looks I mean some the work. Suppose he looks healthy, but you don't really now When Negga said there was no rush. It was like all right. He's a free agent. There's someone else assign. They can but if not, then we'll just be able to wait it out and I guess after once you saw how the dominoes kind of played out and says he didn't go to. The grisly inaugurnat the grizzlies while. That the chargers, the ninety plan the same town, so like that weird was say with with the chargers since he didn't sign there. was like honestly, where else was he? Never said that he wouldn't be better than some of the starting quarterbacks that are currently with their teams, but is when you look around and see. At look at the potential starting spot. That would be available this season. Every really want that many out there after again after his release, Efi begin the preseason beginning all season. MIROSLAVA different but. Time he got released. It was like there was only so many places he could go in. New England was one of them, though is one of those things where it was like you were just. Confused just because if you thought that he was gonNA, they were GonNa do it. You thought they would have done it already. But again took their time and he's still got the deal done. If. That was the guy that they wanted so. Cam noon again as I said reached a one year incentive, laden deal with new pages lead sources told ESPN ESPN Chris Mortensen Adam Schefter. Be Mixed with Jarret Stidham Brian Hoyer. To Rabih the I. Don't think necessarily be the heir-apparent only one year. So who knows you can be their past the season? But. Potentially these bridge the gap to the air pair. Of Tom Brady with with new, England.

"The timing of this was incredible. It's quite possible that they had cam newton kind of locked up ten days ago and just said we're not going to say. Put Make you cynical, Mitch, just so shocked. You describe ulterior motives to. Baddeck in the Vatican of sports. Grizzled reporter in me I suppose, but here is the same day that we're making this news is the news that comes out then was fine. A one point one million dollars in lost a third round draft pick over that film crew fiasco of supposedly a crew that was filming a Just get it done kind of special about how the Patriots have this magical way of doing things, l. and they happen to be in a stadium when a team was practicing and they film that, too. And once again, the Patriots get fined for something, but it doesn't get back to Belichick Bell. Check still is basically. I didn't know what they were doing to know. Some kind of a adjunct thing well, apparently, NFL thought that the team knew enough about it to find them a million bucks, and to take away a third round draft pick, which may not sound like a lot to novices, but draft picks are precious to teams. Look at what they trae look quarterbacks, Star quarterbacks have been traded for third. Third round draft picks over the years, and you realize that third round draft pick is is a is a knock, but it's not getting the attention that it would have because everybody's talking about Cam Newton instead, and this was clearly deliberate on New England's part and guess what and I'm not saying that Bella check is already thinking that far ahead, but you never know what check if if if Newton comes and produces and they lose them. What are they probably end up with a third round draft choice. But but Mitch. Isn't it amazing that? Some organizations cannot be rehabilitated. You know we always joke about Ryan can't be rehabilitated. Okay, but. Do and every one of Mitch's there ever been an excuse that didn't sound like. The dog ate my homework from from once that from deflategate to spy gate to this, and it's always like a weight. was there a team practicing down there? You know, wait to. We leave the tour of that city mode. Dammit, and did we have a crew that was filming it well I. I mean how many times have we had that happen to you? Mich you just wandering around with a film crew while while a team is practicing it. I'm sure tap into several times in your life that makes me cynical on the other side about this. Though it was the Cincinnati being. Honest to God, do you need tape to beat the Cincinnati? Bengals do you need to to steal? Practice material for the New England patriots with Tom Brady to beat the Cincinnati bengals. So who knows maybe they really were just stupid and filming when they shouldn't have been filming the by the way you know if you if you walk out with a pat in your pocket, because you forgot that, you would put it there because you were going to check out, and then you walked out of the store. It's still shoplifting you know. Sometimes. You Know Oh, well. We weren't gonNA. Use that stuff, but they did it well. You can't do it, so you can't do what they did. Because Really I. IF IF BILL Belichick is down to filming, the Cincinnati bengals practices in order to try to get an edge. That's really weird. It wasn't a practice. It was their game, right? It was a against Cleveland Cleveland Yeah because I mean. What do you have to the trying to steal signals from the sidelines of what's possible football tips what Mitch? What possible football tips do they pick up? What's in the browns? Play? The bengals Yeah I. Know Accept What not to do. But. I suppose trying to pick up how they send signals in or something like that it just it just boggles the mind, but anyhow the NFL thought that it was an probably the way and. Who who got really got? Clipped Brady lost four games because it deflate gate. Okay, but who got the the equipment managers got clipped. Who got clipped this time David? Mondello, who has already lost his job with the Patriots I just love the second paragraph of the story. In addition Patriots Television, production crews will not be allowed to shoot any games during the two thousand twenty season and seen. This is my favorite one rich senior club officials will undergo required training on League operation and game policy. It's almost like they're sending the Patriots to couples counseling, you know. And and I admit this time you know that this time. They're gonNA. Learn their lesson. They'll never misbehave ever ever ever get and. I love it when somebody finds. He's rich guys who own these teams a million dollars. Okay now that's everybody else. That's a Lotta money not to them not to them, and they say oh, we find him a million dollars that will. That's not even a speed bump to the New England patriots. Yeah, no I. It's a slap on the wrist, but. They had to do something apparently, and and that's what they did all right. We're going to move on again. Our friends from GEICO. They'd been with.

"We're talking about them but this. Chocolate Mitch think about US any other story with any other team that has dominated our conversation, just our conversation, starting on television, and now than the New England Patriots Yeah. Well I'm looking at a tweet from golic and wingo quote it's the most England thing ever. It's the most bill belichick thing ever. That's I mean that's that's pretty much it and and and you know. Let good for them, because Tom Brady has commanded the spotlight. Certainly long enough. With his moves in his career decisions and now Tampa and his workouts in Tampa. Whatever this is all part of the part of the it's like it's like the Beatles breaking up and then saying everybody's talking about Paul and then suddenly. You're talking about John I. It's all part of the the unit that they had together. And now we're talking about the team and the coach as opposed to the quarterback and everybody's GonNa WanNa Watch them. The thing is Mike. That kind of surprises me. And maybe I wasn't paying close attention. Because you know the League is an in session, but Wouldn't. This would have made sense anyhow. Why didn't we hear like more whispers about this up till now I don't know I think of that last night. Because when you read it, you said Oh yeah. It was always in the back of my mind that they might do this, but it. I guess there's just been so much going on. Obviously I'm just trying to in the NFL so many decisions to make and black lives matter and captured it all that stuff. Okay, the reversal of course from goodell. There's been so much going on that we were really focused on. Personnel decisions because we both been skeptical. We're not even sure that there's GonNa be a season. I still think we both Mitch and I talked about this for. Four months that we thought that of all the professional sports leagues the one that was being the most ambitious because they're sees. It wasn't starting till September was the national football league so when this finally hit last night? You, you Kinda said wait. Should we talk about this last month? Yeah, yeah. Well. I also think it might have been Mike because. We just didn't think that with no money to spend. I think they had one point eight million dollars. Cap They could never make it happen. And maybe the Cam Newton was holding out to do a long term deal with some team who is going to make a trade or something like that? And we just said well not gonNA. Go to New England. They don't have any money and I suppose that that's why, but you know also on Cam Newton part. He clearly has said you know what one year in Patriot land could do a lot from Iran tation and he's not dumb, either. We keep talking about bill. Belichick in this deal. How about the smarts of Cam Newton? Absolute saying you know. Hey I'm thirty. One thinks damaged goods. The worst that's going to happen to me. Is I'm going to go to new. England and play with maybe the greatest football coach of all time hopefully improve my performance. Get protected by a great offensive line, which by the way they didn't always have down Carolina for him Stand up right. Put up some stats and a year from now I'll be able to get some big money. That's pretty smart on his part, really smart. Smarter on his part. Been Bella Checks Mitch. You're right because you look at it and you know. Cam Newton has been watching all the stuff that's been going on personnel. Wise over the last. It's not apparently it's not like. People were beaten down his door and isn't it ironic that of all the teams in all the land that he finally figured out gave him the best chance to start on week. One was doing on Patriots. I mean I can't think of another team. Can you think of another team? I was trying to think of one last night. Where you look around and say. Where could he have walked in competed and gotten the starting quarterback job? I can't know that was the whole thing. High Goldie may be but. All right so the team. That's one played nine super bowl over the last two decades became his best option to show the world when he could still do. You're right. It's it's. Maybe, he was negotiating for more than this, and maybe he finally decided that this bet on himself was worth it. And by the Way Julian Edelman and Mohamed Sununu. Just got really happy to with their chances. No knock on stem. Before. Get down on stem. Maybe just can't happy able to pronounce it. Before we talk a little bit more about the Patriots on the illegal side when it comes to the rules. A word from our good friends at Harry's. Just. How much money could you save in one year by switching to Harry's a believe it or not? Enough for three deep dish pizza dinners in Chicago or if you're into caffeine enough to buy twenty six cups of coffee in New York City, or if you're a homebody, six months of net flicks that's right at as low as two dollars a blade, the savings you get Harry's really adds up, but only you know you're paying less. Your face won't know the. The difference I got my first. Harry's Kit months months ago and I was cynical as well razors a razor. What's the different I have to tell you? It was the closest shave I've ever had, and I've been using their blades ever since it's close the handle. Is it just feels more sturdy than a lot of those disposable things that you pick up the shave? Gel that they give you smells really good. I can't say enough about the shaving experience. Experience the fact that you save money is a bonus. I actually thought I was going to lose money and say well. I'll pay more for it. It works the opposite direction and you can get.
Cam Gets Signed
"Well there was big news coming last night. Courtesy of our Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen former MVP cam. Newton is a free agent. No more instead Newton is heading to new. England to join forces with bill, Belichick and follow in the footsteps of another MVP Tom Brady. And Cam Newton's cryptic fashion. He had this to say the instagram. I'm excited because I know what right now all praise to God dropping contact tomorrow. I hope you're ready Hashtag. Let's go pat. And so now we know, and we'll start with Adam Schefter, and our health hall of Famer. Steve Young One one. Just tell us how we got here. How did this deal get done? Listen I think it took Cam Newton a little bit of time to recognize that there was not a thirty plus million dollar a year job on the market when you released two weeks into the free agent signing period not only that there's not an obvious starting job that's out there, and so the longer this went on, and the less he heard from teams, and there really was nobody that he heard from the more he recognized that he had to find the right spot. And if you're going to find the right spot, there's nothing wrong with taking new. England Riga tour with Bill Belichick and Josh mcdaniels, and the new quarterbacks coach Jed fish in an offense. That obviously is going. Going to be trying to replace Tom Brady where you're competing with the guy like Jarret, Stidham hasn't proven that he can play yet in the NFL and so cam. Newton goes to New England on a one year deal where he gets to reestablishes value show that he's healthy, and over the shoulder and foot injuries that he has been dealing with the last two years, and this is the the place that he now tries to relaunch his NFL career at the age of thirty one, which should be most quarterbacks, the prime of their career, no question and Adam. How likely is it that this is in effect? A one year auditioned for Cam to be with the Patriots beyond this season. Wendy what I would say is this if Cam Newton plays well, the Patriots obviously would be interested in resigning him, and if not, they have the ability to move on from him. It depends on how the year goes. It's difficult to forecast that right now. All we know is that the Patriots signed a former. Most Valuable Player who won that award in two thousand fifteen, who has tremendous ability who goes into this offense, and now we'll have to learn it, which is not going to be an easy task in a shortened off season for put as the ability to be dominant quarterback. If he can pick up that system if he plays that way, you would think that no one would not let him out. Out, the door, but again there's a whole year. They WANNA see Newton. They WANNA see them. They want to see a year goes to. It's truly to say that just yet well. Yeah, I mean a lot can happen in a year. We've all we've all seen that in Steve. How do you like the fit between cam? Newton and what he brings on the field and the New England patriots. When healthy. Rusted Cam Newton mean it's like. Manna from heaven right I mean in many ways I, think Josh, mcdaniel and Bill Belichick sitting around a lot of times. Saying. Could you imagine what we could do with this guy or that? Guys? They play these players. Run the League, and they see them in places where I'm sure they say because they're supreme of conference. Not Hubris just supreme confidence that if we could get a hold of him what we could do with him, and we can really expend on what you're seeing around the league. What we can do is special, and so I'm sure they're saying this about. If Cam comes in his foot is okay. Because we know the arm is all right, we should. We saw that early last year before. So. We know that he's healthy. If his what is good and he can move, you've got. Hungry. Sophisticated and the type caliber Blair in New England, where you have bill and Josh saying you can't imagine what we're GonNa, do with this kid and so I think that's I. think that's the conversation. That's happening right now. New England, Steve. Look it's anybody's guess at this point, but you. You have an opinion very qualified one. What do you believe the likelihood? Is that Cam Newton? Is the Patriots Starting Quarterback Week One? Again if healthy, if he can move around, I can't imagine them with his talent level, and what they think they can do them again. It becomes a you know it's a proof point for what they're out to show their out to show that we can do special things with special players, and so it's it becomes A. A right of passage to be in New England, and that we can take somebody, and we can show you amazing things that can be done and they've done that with flair after play after player so Cam Newton and healthy can move around. I. It's GonNa be, too. It's like a gravitational force when it's to special to be able to show what they can do with a great Cam Newton. Yeah,
Boston's New England Patriots Cam Newton is the greatest QB in his division
"Further proven otherwise can't noon is now the best quarterback in his division right I mean he's the best quarterback in the division right now I mean he's won a lot of games and he's thrown a lot of touchdowns and he's big and he's strong and he's good mostly like arm he's good yeah and Alan and Donna are unproven they are and could that change after four weeks this year yeah that could change like cam Newton could end up getting benched for ineffective play and can't and and Josh Allen and Sam Darnold both look hot out of the gates and both are leading football in passing state statistic that could totally happen and I could you know eat my words I don't want to say I don't expect that to happen I sure hope it happens but as it stands right now to day and this is a criticism I have of people who are like Nate you said cam Newton could be better than Tom Brady this year are you crazy Tom Brady from five years ago and I just want to stop you there because this is a top twenty from five years ago this is Tom Brady from right now and Tom Brady right now is not the Tom Brady of even four or five months ago he is forty something I'm almost thirty and I can barely play thirty six holes of golf without needing a jacuzzi tub in a backrub so don't give up right now I know Tom Brady's in slightly better shape than me I will concede that he likely has a slightly more rigorous workout regimen I get it he might be paying slightly more money to you know trainers and consultants slightly more I will concede that but the idea that we can't say cam Newton to day right now side by side with Tom Brady and cam Newton if you're going to tell me that he is better I I I don't I don't know about that I I just I think if you got a look at it from a non biased lands in say yes Tom Brady has warped and walloped this team for twenty years I respect the hell out of Tom Brady and if you don't I don't know what you've been watching but what I'll say is if you compare the two two day not you can't cherry pick this you can't say Tom Brady from two years ago in cam Newton from six years ago like add up but that's that's not what we can do here in this in this argument so I don't know I think it's really interesting I think we're going to figure out what you have in cam Newton pretty early on but it can't do is healthy pestilence seven wins at least for the new in the pictures I don't know what you could have penciled in you know yesterday Saturday before cam Newton came out like that I don't know what you can pencil maybe you maybe you're thinking with Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer whatever combination into going with their maybe you think therefore when football team I think that's crazy to think that with that defense yeah the news Kyle van Noy there was a couple other pieces but like that's again a defense that was literally last year considered maybe from a from an actual roster district and advanced analytics they appoint the best defense ever in terms of scoring and yardage output the fact that they're gonna lose one two players from a defense return everybody else that they're just gonna take this big dry I don't know
Patriots owner's prostitution case heads to appellate court
"Massage parlor prostitution case against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will go before Florida appellate court tomorrow in an effort to save their case. A lower court ruled that surveillance cameras installed by police at a massage parlour early last year were illegal because they violated the privacy rights of people who are not accused of any wrongdoing. Craft is charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and has played it not guilty check of the weather
Cam Newton reaches deal with the New England Patriots
"In football cam Newton heading to New England the former NFL MVP has agreed to a one year deal to join bill Belichick and the New England Patriots ESPN's Dan Orlovsky says this move automatically makes the pats a contender in the AFC once again but if he's healthy this is a problem for the A. S. C. because now the patriots certainly have somebody at the quarterback position that's got experience that's got talent and any any any way that Josh McDaniels probably has never had both in the run game and a multiplicity they can do with that scheme Newton had spent the last nine years and I suppose the first nine years of his career as a Carolina
"new england patriots" Discussed on New England Patriots Press Pass
"There were some rumors coming out of Jalal ad round, the draft or out of free agency that they were behind you, or who were drafting, or whatever the case may be and I. do think that there would be a little bit of an element there with Cabernet, but I think the biggest thing with capper. Nick is going back last year. When he had that workout that last-second schedule change that he had on the day of the workout work as opposed to be in one location with NFL teams that ended up being moved into the next day in a different location. He lost about after teams that were supposed to go to that workout as a result of that. Move knowing. The Patriots are one of them, so he was supposed to have over a dozen teams. That workout ended up. Only being a in the patriots, because the scheduling conflicts couldn't get their stoute's into that workout the way that they wanted to so if I was kapernick serious about coming back then you really need to showcase your skills to all thirty two teams, if possible, and he can't pull any of that last second stuff and I'm. I'm not saying that it's his fault that he's not on team. Because it's certainly not, but at least give yourself as much of a fair chance as you can from your perspective to get squad, because when you start pulling with the NFL start moving things, and and bailing on things and stuff like that. It never looks good. It's it's an interview. It's professional interview and that's never going to look good in the final wanted to make though. Is that if you look at what Baltimore is doing with Greg Lamar Jackson. It's exactly what the Niners were doing with Colin Kaepernick. In the early part of the decade. The pistol the empty stuff that they're running getting the quarterback's legs involved that was all started when we set out in the Jackson Baltimore last year was all started in twenty twelve season with Colin Kaepernick in San Francisco, so we've seen an offense. Exceed back the end we seen. The last year that runs the same way that Kapernick is able to run. A scheme in run assists them, and we've seen it work at the NFL level at an extremely high level, so there's definitely a semblance of a system of a way of of a skill set for Colin Kaepernick to be able to play again in the NFL, but again does don't shoot yourself in the foot by. By saying you know what we're GonNa work out this day and then moving the workout that stuff is not going to fight with the NFL teams, so just do the best that you can to get everybody in the building I think tapper nic will show that data offense kind of around him with that system sort of made around him that he can succeed at this level still. When it comes to cinemas, competence I think you've Colin calculated where to be brought in like you say. The system has been in place like we've seen the blueprint, but that would also mean a huge overhaul for the Patriots offense. Now go to a more run heavy approach with percents when I think it's people have kind of forgotten exactly..

"The. For the first time in two decades the New England patriots have different quarterback to work around I'm here. Goodwill here with Evan? Lazar lot of people have been talking about what changes we might see from the Patriots offense this year with assuming Jarret Stidham is leading the charge. What do you expect to change if dramatically or small with this offense? While I don't think the changes are going to be that dramatic Sierra, because you look at this offense and you look. Look at what they've had in place here for the last twenty years, and yes, things have been curtailed for Tom Brady and his set and fitting what he does best. Certainly, that is true, but it's also been a very successful system that's been in place here since the beginning of the Dynasty Bill Belichick and Charlie Weis. Really built the basis of the Patriots offense in the early two thousands. Then it sort of evolved when Josh. mcdaniels took over in the late. Late two thousands to mcdaniels vision, updating in a little bit with offenses in where things are going directionally with the entire league, and with the entire sport, tapping into some of the things like with chip, Kelly in the college game, but the no huddle offense, and some of air-raid concepts, getting in there, like Mesh and stuff like that, so the whole system has been in place for a really long time. This is a long way to get to this point the. The whole system has been in place for a really long time and I. Don't expect the Patriots to completely blow it up in reinvent. What do offensively because I. Don't think that stood them. skillset is a far cry from Tom Brady's. It's not like they're going from Tom Brady to Lamar. Jackson here. It's enough similarities there that I. think that they are going to keep it. Generally the same system and I know the terminology is going to be the same. Well obviously after. Two decades, they had a lot of faith in Brady's decision, making skills and his arm in general. What changes do you see them? Implementing based on what we know of stem so far while the biggest thing. I think that they will change is that there's going to certainly be more moving of the pockets so more bootleg actions more rollouts more things where you can get them on. On the perimeter on the move, a little bit cut the field in half. Those reads a little bit easier for them and use his legs which you know, he's not a big time runner, but he does have above average speed, so he used those legs and use that athleticism to move the pocket, a little bit and get defenses shaking a little bit more than what you would. Would in a traditional drop back shotgun type of passing system, so the Patriots will have more bootleg action more rollouts more things, involving Sims legs than we do see that in the past when Brady you know, had to sit out for deflate gate, suspension or two thousand eight with Matt Cassel with Jacoby Reset I would say more so in in the deflategate situation where the Patriots did. Did put more quarterback running elements into their offense, letting the quarterback run with the football. Keep the football himself or just roll out the pocket. So that's GonNa be the real. The the really big innovation I think for this patriots offense. We'll be incorporating more of moving the football outside the pocket for Jared Stadium to really make a little bit easier for him to read the field. The rest for Patriots Coverage. You can find it on our website at C. Elena's media dot com in on our youtube. Channel Patriots Press Pass. How are you gonNA come out of this lockdown when it's over, you're like all the people I know you sure as heck won't be any lighter than going into it I get it though you're stuck inside some, if not zero exercise and have no idea how to curb your food cravings, so you eat, not that eating is a bad thing unless all you're eating are bad things. "Second but i just wanted to get your thoughts on things we talk about. Newton's value as a running quarterback michael vick owns the record for most rushing yards in a single season in by a quarterback. Is this the year it's toppled by lamar jackson. I think it's a very real possibility i mean we've heard a lot about how we're not gonna. We're not the ravens are going to temper down the amount of running but that's what makes lamar jackson special i mean he can certainly make make the throws but but his ability to move and get get up and down the field from the quarterback position makes him the game breaker that then i think he wasn't louisville it's going to it's going and really make him either boomer bus situation here in the n._f._l. And there's also a part where guys have that type of athletic ability ability where they they don't they don't use the running as a crutch but it's such a good fallback plan. If something isn't out there i lamar jackson can s- give it a serious run for its money johnny this year vic the only quarterback in n._f._l. History to ever eclipse a thousand yards rushing in a single season when he did it in twenty six twenty six with the atlanta falcons and so we saw what jackson was last year and you're right. They're talking about. We're gonna were. I'm going to be more of a passer. We are going to be you more of a of a balanced team but then they came out and said hey. We are still a running team. We are running football team and if that's the case lamar jackson's going to run the ball ton last year hundred and forty seven attempts for six hundred ninety five yards and five touchdowns and over those sixteen games. I'll be it certainly not all as a starter harder. What odds do you give if vodka was giving odds on this. What odds would you give for lamar jackson breaking the record because no other q._b. has rushed for over a thousand yards. My guess is if you were talking about. It'd probably be sitting somewhere around like plus plus. One fifty like not a full two to one but sort of a you know a nice little plus. Look on a bet lake that because we talked about earlier you're putting your body at risk when you play that style quarterback so there is certainly attentiveness i think from gambling perspective to to lay money on something like that where one weird tackle one bed dive one late hit puts a real blow to the chances manses of getting getting that rushing number so another really interesting thing the rams head carolina the panthers this weekend and i you know i'm fascinated by the fact that provided has this is <hes> plus two for the panthers. Where do you stand on that because i know that it's that close game. It's one of those weird things where it's east or west coast traveling east but i don't think matters as much at the beginning of the season i think this is sort of a a lawyer right into where you'll lay heavy on the rams and somehow the panthers come out and just dominate i i. I like the rams in that game. I like again week. One this is this is where i get in trouble with different activities and pools and things like dadan where you over analyze so much on week one and you think you know everything based off of what happened last year and the basis of this team played in the super soubra last year. They're going to come out and dominate this team and carolina that was you know overall relatively mediocre last year..

"To five and you're gonna get twenty five percents off for a limited time all all right gregg. We are back our third and final segment here on this opening week of n._f._l. Football and much like in the previous segment where you mentioned your disdain for tom brady and the bill belichick and the boston in general and the patriots atri it's base. I think paul revere was in there. Somehow just sure absolutely anything boston related. I have the same kind of feelings feelings albeit less broad for <hes> for cam newton and that's why it just breaks my heart to say that i think this is is in for a gigantic year this year. I think this team has finally gotten to the point where they have put the kind of weapons around him that is really going to allow him to excel in this offense to excel personally both as a runner and a passer. I think we're going to see a little bit less running obviously but when you look at the weapons they have on this team you have christian mccaffrey who is arguably a top five running back in football and the arrow pointed upward. You have a pair of absolutely electric wide receivers in d._j. More in curtis samuel two guys who can do a lot of everything to guys who are incredibly dangerous you know with the ball in their hands after the catch just big playmakers in general you know you have the the greg olsen coming back at tight end and offensive offensive line that is solidified over the last couple of years with guys like trae turner and <hes> der williams taking big steps up this offense dance is going to be as something to be reckoned with most importantly devin funchess has gone anytime you can get rid of devin funchess. I can they get behind that. My issue with carolina's offense is sort of the opposite of what you said you mentioned you mentioned greg olsen. Greg olsen only played sixteen games over the course of the last two seasons. His thirty four year old frame hasn't held up well. He's is that a lot of issues with his feet. I mean to the point where he was broadcasting games for fox last year. During the season like after he got hurt <hes> that scares me and worries me a lot about that offense. I do agree with mccaffrey. Mccaffrey is arguably you know from fantasy standpoint twenty s get top top three running back from an overall contributions on the field. He's easily in that top five for me in the n._f._l. I'm not one hundred percent sold on their wide receiving core. I mean we only had we really only have one year to look at with d._j. More curtis samuel not exactly a name to me that jumps off the list. I mean only again two years of production. He's got six hundred nine career receiving yards. I mean d._j. Morris seven hundred eighty eight and one season so that's obviously a lot better my bigger issue with cam newton. Though is his ability to stay healthy. The guy gets killed hild out there. I feel like it's at least two to three times. A season. We see an.

"Hey everybody and welcome to this week's episode of year wrong and here's why i'm chris woodward. L. joined his always by greg crone gregory. How are you chris. It's football season. Let's go it is quite literally the kickoff of the twenty nineteen n._f._l. Season <hes> the first actions gonna take place in about an hour and fifty minutes as we record this and as you would imagine all of our topics this week are about baseball every sink no every single topics about football. We're gonna talk. The melvin gordon's not gonna play another down for the los angeles chargers. I stopped myself. I didn't say san diego while the new england patriots. This is a double dip. The patriots are going to lose on sunday but still will make it to the a._f._c. Title game and why cam newton is gonna finish in the top three of m._v._p. Voting when this thing is all said and done we'll start with melvin gordon and <hes> this is a this is a really ugly situation and i think it's an ugly situation on both sides because the chargers have unrealistic expectations for what his value is but also melvin gordon has unrealistic expectations for what is value is. This is a guy who has averaged over three point nine yards per carry one in his five n._f._l. N._f._l. Seasons let that sink in for a second one time in his career. Has he rushed for four point zero or more yards. It's a game in a precarious season. That's just it's not only that it's not good. It's pretty terrible and considering that this guy i was you know i know. This is a very unofficial thing but he was in a top one hundred player this past year <hes> on the n._f._l. Network charts. He had this big twenty. The <hes> eighteen season russia's one hundred seventy five times for ten touchdowns really does well last year but he just has never done it over the course of the season never ever ever he wants too much. Money allegedly turned down ten million dollars a season for <hes> from the chargers in the past. He's looking for closer to thirteen as what we're hearing. That's that's a crazy number which making more of the highest paid running backs in football and the reality is that you know often cler had a similar season. I'll be it unless carries last year. Averaging five point two yards per carry it for a call broke out a forty. One yard didn't quite have the nose for the end zone. The gordon did only three touchdowns to to gordon's ten butts you can you can use a running back by committee type situation and san diego. Yeah go without really worrying too much about it. You know i saw over at bavasi sportsbook. Obviously the chargers have a really interesting game this week against the indianapolis colts the end the bavadra has the chargers minus six point five. I think that's pretty fair think that's indicative that they don't think that melvin gordon's worth all that much in another way i kind of land on the opposite of this i mean i i understand that some of the the offensive numbers for for gordon aren't necessarily as consistent but the guy does make a difference on the field like when he's actually in the game these teams have to have to key in on him and they have to target them and it gives other guys opportunities..

"But but mostly in the era. Era in Massachusetts, so three. All right. Well, dean, thank you so much. You've been a fantastic contested. I don't think anybody's ever got three out of four right before one guy amazing way back in the day back in nineteen. Well, we first started doing this in the late forty seven. So there was that one person in the forties to grab a Cup of coffee do. Yeah. Pick up a little bit. No, he's good still fired up. All right, Dan. Thanks. We appreciate it a lot. Thank you for playing. So. Well, I guess that's it. Then right. Could you know LA? Yeah. We don't have time. I mean, would you if this is what you were picking for the game? Isn't this a what you would pick it? I would definitely look patriots. Look, we've that's been proven that this game is science that it doesn't necessarily go that way. We don't pick the we'll pick the actual score. We're just picking outcome. Right. That's right beating the Los Angeles. Rams the big game. But what was the score curiosity said? Okay. Seventy three three quarters series beating serious in more on trivia. Yeah. So we are picking the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl. We'll see you on Sunday. If that turns out to be true, and we wind up either sixteen and four on the season or fifteen and five if we win we'll be eighty percent, correct rating. All man, that's alright. And it gives me something to root for because I don't care about this this year. I just want the patriots, you know. Yeah. I want to Tom Brady to have his. I mean, do I care that much? No. I really don't right. So. We'll see now. This gives me a little bit of incentive. Yeah, I'd like to see more entre beauty, right? That'd be great. All right. So have a great week. We'll see you. "Great. Right. We are three to Los Angeles. We still have the second half of the second quarter to play for the New England Patriots. And if you know if we this quarter has to be wiped out, then you're looking at New England winning which right, right? So we need a contest it we do in Boston right or greater New England area. Which we've determined stretches, bro. The tip of Florida. Do the top of Maine. Nova Scotia part of that too. That's true. That is true. I think right now we're looking at they'll forget Newfoundland, right? Right. It goes west to the gateway to the west. Does it does get somebody as what we're saying? Let's get New England who cares. It's about twenty eight degrees worse than freezing. By my estimation. Yeah. Roughly are you a patriots fan? Of course. Of course, Lew doesn't love the patriot in Massachusetts. So yeah, obviously, I mean right to step in. That's a stupid question Nova Scotia just to confirm not in. Okay. All right. We're gonna ask you for quick questions. If you don't know the answer, just take a guess, you can't ask anybody around you for help. Okay. All right. All right question. Number one when yellow mixes with blue what color appears? "New England Patriots seven Minnesota Vikings six seven six patriots right now. All right as we're looking for a contested now in the New England area because they are the home team. So New England is what are they actually in eighty three. And the Vikings are for just six and four. I know this better six four in one, right? Yeah. Because they tied with the Packers. I six four and one that got to do something about that whole, no ludicrous ridiculous. Even during the Texas LSU gave a lot of many of the tweets outside of beating up on the referees. And going the game in these seven overtime periods were saying, hey, NFL paying watching this. Yep. Yeah. I mean, yes. That was a phenomenal game. Yes. Say what you will about the refs. And we. But but yeah, the game was great outcome. Yes. Yes somewhere. You get it up. It doesn't have to be a tie. And you know, I've heard I because my initial thing is just do it just like college does start at the twenty five. And if you score a touchdown the other team gets her chance if you score go if you if you get a field goal the other team gets their chance after after five overtimes, it has to be to to go for two or something like start at the fifty whatever it's not the hard. No it isn't that hard. I don't know why they make it seem like it is it's it's unbelievable to me ten billion dollar industry. Can't figure that out. Crazy. I mean worse case scenario have the you know, put the field goal kickers out of one kick facing the opposite field goals. Just have a kickoff. Ten twenty thirty. I wanna miss loses eleven maybe something will come around this because you know, it took forever. The NFL finally adopted the two point conversion, so maybe overtime to maybe. Grail ending tie. Ridiculous. Well, you know, what the problem is in the NFL Commissioner's is he's on like slave wages and so. He can't really work very hard because he only makes forty nine dollars a year who can make ends meet on that end. Is it forty forty nine million a year? They just gave them a raise this last contract. That's embarrassing. A terrible. That's why embarrassing. He's terrible. He's making that kinda money. Triple eight nine hundred thirty three Ninety-three as we wait for a contestant in New England. We tell you about a really good really good plan that Bill and Hillary Clinton have there on the speaking tour now the going around the country, we're supposed to come here that was part of the tour the got cancelled all they had to cancel in Texas. The original story. Nobody cares about these two original store. They were going to be here in Irving, and they made big deal about them being here. Because when they were building that the Toyota theater over here the pavilion. Yeah. That was one of those Toyota music center, or whatever it's one of the things we're going to be there after it open, and we're gonna come in November not so much. They I mean, they were half empty when they when in this auditorium. They didn't Tronto the other day. Maybe a break because it's Canada. But it's still I mean Toronto's more American than candidate, probably and. Nobody cares. Nobody cares. I including Democrats, I think about the Clintons anymore, but they're on this big speaking tour, and they they were in Montreal. And here's what they had to say about Canada. Canada has done such a good job of both managing its contemporary diversity, and it has a very interesting immigration system to and yet. And yet it's still Canada. Bill said, right. And just think that you can model the idea that you could become more diverse and still keep your culture and your values. It's it's really very good for a modern economy. And here's our Commissioner. Fisher tell you how the game works. Well, this is where we predict the outcome of a particular NFL game. And obviously as pet said the game is the Minnesota Vikings taking on the New England Patriots in by we predict the outcome of the game. We don't predict the score of the game. We're ten wins and one loss to LA. Breath about the second one. And we call the particular cities Minnesota area New England area, which would be the Boston ish area. Call convenience stores in those areas and ask them four questions of quarter. We played four quarters just like a football game. And the city that answers the most questions correct wins the game. It's just that easy as just that easy. All right. So it it is nice that we've got New England. 'cause like that that's a lot of territory. You know, doesn't have to be Boston specific it can be anywhere in New England. Connecticut could be New Hampshire could be Vermont. We might even reach deep down, South Carolina. For sure now, at least we're tied with what? While the Rams of a better record and sodas the saints. Yeah. I didn't see horrible refereeing really sides. Really a both sides of that game. Yeah. Really bad. How does that happen in this age of instant reply? Don't know there. There's a face mask miss. There's a need down miss. There's a helmet to helmet targeting missed. It was amazing in college. Do you know that in college the refs stowed even have to call it? They can. Yeah. They wire it down from the from and make them call it, and that's how prevalent this is. We just talked to Merrill, Hodge. The other day who wrote a book with that with Dr Cummings about this CT easier and how it's being overblown, and they say, I mean, one hundred people across the world have diagnosed with C T who never played sports. So. Where did that come from? Yeah. It's not football. Is there something else going on here? I don't know what it is. I really don't. I I don't know of you know, there's some enzyme getting into our brains and messing them up. I don't know. But but it's not just football. That's for. Sure. Right. So we need to be cautious on this. I talked to about the players. We're talking I've talked to about the how a player should be able to move from team to team colleges because I think he's more friendly to that than I am. I am too. Because he would like I think he'd like his his son beau to leave BYU. Well, look, and I don't want to miss. To miss that other year. Right. Exactly. Right. But look at his the example that we talked about because if you leave and you go to a division one school you have to sit out a year right before you can play. So but Utah state's coach Now who's. who's? You know, I was kind of a love with the sheer because he had such a good program. He's going to Texas Tech now met wells is going to tech. Yeah. I didn't know that that just was announced. Really? So while the people that he recruited at Utah state. They're left with what. Well, I think you can make that exception. I think that would be a reasonable compromise to say, okay. If you're coach leaves you can leave. Coach to the head coach that recruited you leaves before you start playing. I think you're you your duty. You can go anywhere right and play right away read. Yes. So that could be a nice provision. But if you're leaving just because you didn't get the starting job your freshman year as so many of these babies do and then came leaving. All right. Get out, right. I don't want you. Then that's what they have to deal with. Right. We I don't think we ever aired it. But there was the clip from what's his face from Oklahoma state talking about the snowflakes and the kids that leave and go things might go. The other way to put up with. It's a struggle for the coaches as well all right before we get into more trivia, I've got to tell you about this despicable. Marc Lamont hill guy who fortunately CNN, manned up and fired. They fired him because of his anti Israel comments. Their their comment was Marc Lamont hill is no longer under contract with CNN. Good for you.
