"Like I ended up getting checked by my school? And then that's when I found out the prayer to my left ear and so after that I ended up getting a hearing aid which I walk like probably like a year less like I ended up being like all of these questions about Ed kids. You don't want like cure at all. And so I I me Dylan would it? I mean much like every out or every time someone was like tiger him like what like Catholic. Work fulltime so sometimes. I just can't hear you like if you're on the wrong side and my left side obviously harder here on this side but Yeah mostly like getting people like I tell them they'd be like they kind of whisper in that era like like. I still can't quite hear completely but I've been cool about the I deal with like turning to my right ear or toes myself in a direction where I can hear you. Better Really had an impact me on the field too much during my college days because one of my teammates new so they knew like either yelp to call for most of the time are signals were hand signals. Anyway so I knew those from operative It's been like somewhat of a talent is not doing anything about they. I'll look for you normally and is it just. Is it just a loss of hearing or do you have any like tonight is where you get ringing in your ears or anything like that? So I think it's like the loss of here and I got a screen basis for the most part the trouble of people's voices so I always here we're talking about wouldn't be always like like Get like what they're saying. How did I mean? I think we'll like the rain doesn't happen everybody from time to time. Your ears ringing right. Yeah I WANNA say like I have that like medically I mean they do rings sometimes. But that's both of them. Gotcha Gotcha yeah really. I was just curious if it's something that impacted you on the field you know we're getting calls or getting you know audibles in defense alignments whatever whatever you know try to hamper Jer. Sounds like you got a good grip on it and you you got to figure it out. Yes so I think my last question here. Is You go through your your history your historical on your Tulsa Bio here and it goes through all of your different pictures so I have to ask. Are you going to keep growing out your hair or 'cause I've I've talked to a lot of dudes that you know. They'll they'll grow their hair out their entire college career and then they'll cut it when they get to the NFL. Are you keeping it are you? Are you cutting it off as actually crazy that you asked? That's been something I've been thinking about not just in quarantine something I'm thinking like. Now that's probably cut my dreads. How would look I? I've been seriously considering. I think I'm GONNA give it like after appointing. I really have my mind right on. Cut Them Up. I think my no. I think that's a good idea. I think you really got to get back into the world and let it ride for a little bit and think you know if you still want to chop it off after that and you do that But but don't make any decision once your. They'll get a haircut. I you know I got. I got just a couple more questions for you. We'll get you out of here. I'm just curious. Is there a you know? We talked about the turnover of the cowboys. Secondary You know bringing in some new coaches new new players new philosophies and taking the ball away but growing up watching football. Was there any defensive back? That's played for the cowboys. That you Kinda you know. Modeled your game after and maybe not even cowboy maybe somebody just in the NFL that you kind of model your game. After in Uganda you not copy their their tendencies. But you kind of model like I said modern game after his probably the best way to put it I'll be honest like No when I was when I was younger like I watched football from Tom. Tom Really didn't understand this. I was like I'll watch like my dad's beyond some I just like to hang out with my dad and like that but I didn't think I actually wasn't watching too much cowboys football too. But now new one Gotcha. Gotcha all right last question I got for. We'll get you out of here. Man is I like to ask this question in all our podcast. But you know cowboys nation. They're getting a new guy in the fourth round. Come in play cornerback. Maybe even some safety. I think that the fan base is extremely excited about what you bring the table with your physical and athletic traits. What are they getting in? Reggie Robinson own the field but also what are they going to get in? Reggie Robinson off the field you know doing work in the community or what. He's going to do off the field to help build that cowboys brand. I.

"Valent for stories like this and much more. Download the APP to watch new episodes of speed run every weekday and when it comes to coverage. Is there a type of technique alignment that you feel better with is are you more of a pressman guy? Altman guide you like playing you know encumbered three cover to. What's where's your bread and butter in your opinion. Be In Preston I like the pace Than just compete with them. Like right off the ball them having too much space. How about that? Rather just like make airtight right from the beginning. What I like to hear what I here. And that's obvious. Take it with your link with your physicality with your size. It's all there and then you kind of pair that with that athleticism. Have you always been that natural athlete? Growing up playing football or is that something you Kinda grew into later in your career so have always been like a natural athlete. I mean when I was literally while I was more fat but I'll still want them to cook. I'll play mostly like I'm out too big run a ball. Obviously but I've always been like a like a big guy and then I kinda got slimmer as I got older but Yeah I've always been pretty actually athletic and then just working. I work in like in the weight room. Health that M- it's rare to see a guy that's over six foot over two hundred pounds with your long arms and then also being able to run in the four fours and being able to jump thirty six inches one hundred thirty two inches on the broad job. Like you're you're testing at the combine was freaky when you compare it with your size and everything else that you bring to the table where those numbers that you hit the combine were those some of the better ones that you hit throughout the off season or did you hit some more even better numbers throughout your training. "So he had called but like for most part. I didn't have any other call about that. He was like really handling all that happy. That's so funny here you talk about you know. I see myself as a day. Three guy you know. I I knew I probably will go on day. One or two. That doesn't really resemble your take because you play so confident and so aggressive on that it's kind of it's kind of it's cool to hear you say that. I kind saw myself as that day. Three guy where I think even myself and kind of had you pegged in that third round we probably had created a little bit higher than maybe even you did so. That's that's kind of cool to hear you're inside perspective on it but I wanted to talk a little bit about your interactions with the cowboys leading up to the draft. It was actually something a lot of guys like me who cover the team. We were very curious of. Are The cowboys interested in? Reggie Robinson because he fits their size profile. He's you know he's such a good athlete like they need corners. He fits everything that they're kind of looking for. But we didn't hear a lot of the interactions between you and the cowboys wear werther much discussions between you and your representatives and the cowboys leading up to the draft. Actually about that Like two thousand dollars at Tulsa. Like my position coach. I guess he'd been like close with the cowboys and like he He said they showed interest in me. Like even like my. I my sophomore gene here. Well so like when he came to the off season like I probably heard from like one time. They'll just like those things were like. They just happened like the end up in like being around me I heard from them. Maybe like once through this whole awesome process and like my Always told me like you haven't had never really highly. He's always talked to me about you and stuff like that. And I'm like really 'cause like I've I've had no contact with them like this whole like pre-draft like I believe because he was a lot of me but I was like I'm not really seeing it myself because there's so many other teams like talking to me and like like all the time so I was like so that happened. I was like I guess he was right. They would just kind of like playing their cards low. I let people know yeah So what teams did you talk to the most throughout the process Because I know the story was kind of the same for a couple of the other cowboys. Draftees usually we in nine pandemic world. You know they have guys come in on on thirty visits And Dallas days. So they get to have the this real tight intimate knowledge and we can usually get a good idea of who they're drafting off of who they bring into Dallas But this was a little bit different. What teams did you get to do? Any any pre draft visits Before all of this broke out And then also you know what teams reached out the most. Actually I was. I had a booth set up but didn't happen so ended up getting canceled but Yeah let's see the teams that received the most. I'd say it was Was the panthers. There are going to be the ones to pick me up. The raiders were pretty high on the Wasn't embarrassing me up Thanks a little bit too but they would. All that's been said about they. They weren't black do you. Do you have kind of stick it to him. Attitude that a lot of guys that they get drafted you know. Maybe a little bit later than they expected. You have that kind of attitude that you're GONNA make those thirty one teams pay for not spending that pick on you definitely say I was like No said They're talking to and stuff like that and probably one of my homeboys get drafted which compared to him. I was like okay. I like the more the more you like other corners get drafted in front. Who just it just get higher and higher like all right so it's one of the things I'm carrying. Yes so You you said that the the saints talked to you a little bit. I see you were born in Louisiana but I had to bring it up and I figured I would just bringing up now getting out of the way. So you're at also says that you are a Saints Fan. I mean obviously. Now you're a cowboys fan. What was it like growing up in the in the dfw area you know a bit south of Fort Worth Their In Cleveland and what what was it like growing up in not being a cowboys fan or were there are a lot of saints FANS DOWN IN CLEVELAND. Oh No no saints Fan. I'll say all my friends all my friends. Everyone I know we're we're Catholics. Then for the most part I had a couple of friends who are like a Pakistan and then one was a of a broncos fan but everybody was a cowboys but I couldn't go nowhere. I it's the same cost to the cowboys out. Hearing about it. I'll tell you my even my best friend Dallas Cowboys Fan. So he'll he'll extra about him. They spoken to distance but Yeah there was. There was no thanks fans here on. What even my family or steelers fan so I hate. I hate to go back to kind of what we were on a second ago. But I'm curious so you know you said. Your interactions with the cowboys were briefed throughout the throughout. The off season did you. Did you talk to a coach with on the time that you did talk to him or was it a scout? Was it a front office member? Who who did you talk to when you did get communication with throughout the off season? I can't even remember to illegals probably the scowl because I think it was either at. I think either as a reasonable or combine dot. I mean like I'm saying like it was brief. I remember it so I mean obviously after being drafted I'm sure you've had more conversations with people you've probably been in constant contact would have the conversations with been like. Are you talking more? The positional coaches now. Are you talking to more the still talking to the scouts? Like what's your conversations now if the cowboys like now that you've already been drafted by the team. I will say so after I got drafted One of my new position coach like he he had called me. He was talking to me again and me better and stuff like that and some small. He was telling me like I need to be ready for when the time comes. The basically coach Arista linguists. I think that's Insane. Because a huge he called me rack. Just talk to me about some things and then loud been like kind of like some other trying to get like everything right now. No one's like really knowing what was going on so Right now currently now have they. Amenities said those conversations were brief to. I feel like I have to ask this question. Have they talked to you at all about what they see you doing their spend some speculation that they might see you playing some safety this year as well as corner if you heard at all and if not what are the role they kinda see you? Play this year We I have. I've heard chatter from everywhere. So why hear me? They put me like a pointer safety. me. I don't know having like told me specifically what I'd play but I mean in a situation I bought some. I'm ready to play either one Whatever it gets me on the field honestly so age but Where I really just wanted somebody would bite big business like me like play a man coverage so I can see that corner or I'd like to speed and chapel soccer. Consider that too so it just it just depends what they put me what they think. I'm best fit for them so I'm ready for either one. Yeah and talk about getting on the field I see and I saw this. I knew this before the draft and it was something that really excited me about you. The the kick blocks. What position were you at Were you on the edge? When you're blocking kicks does the ability to get off the line quickly. I know that you were a i. Think at ten six eight guy in the one hundred yard. You obviously ran well in the forty Is that something that you just have? Good snap anticipation You take better angles you know. How do you do so well at blocking kicks? Um So with that lab affairs At my school Tulsa my position because he'd products on special teams The way you feel when you like a freshman or you're younger guy and so I'll carry that on and then like we started practice by up first thing. Is Bill go block and he preaches hard on a beach. Hard on us about Glock. No I can't because that's what we do like even like outside guy who everyone thinks. I take off like play light. Were really mad and all like like we go hard on outside guys knew like China has this. We're coming up trying to block that kick and even the WHO is just out of things. I just took pride in like at practice. You See me trying to block them. Sometimes I block them some time. I won't but just like when it came to the game situations Some didn't take it serious like out here and get off on a rip up on him and then just extend my body and go after. And then did you do any Any returning at Tulsa. I couldn't find anything on it. Was that something that you would be open to to doing. Got Someone opened the door when I was at Tulsa owls backup kick returner but I never I'll always put it into practice by never gotten to it in the game. So it's something I'm open to. Whatever the hell happened to put me. Try Reggie. I'm curious you know we talked about you. Being a saints. Fan Did that. Does that mean that you follow the NFL pretty closely? Were you a guy who watch football Sundays and followed it? Throughout the week. I'll I'll watch Chance but like most of the time I'll either study understand. I I kept up with it like for a little bit. Yeah the reason I ask you. That is because around cowboys. Nation cowboys fans. The cornerbacks have struggled to take the football away in Dallas. For what seems like forever now and there's been somewhat of a philosophy change this year because they they draft you. Who's been a guy who's been able to take the football Tulsa they draft trayvon digs out of Alabama. And the second round. Another guy. Who's been able to take the football away at Tulsa? They put a greater emphasis on taking the football way. How important is getting interceptions to you in? What's that were is that? How are you going to be able to show that coming into training camp when it does happen that you can not only cover good you can not only defend the room but you can also take the football away and give the football back to that dynamic offense that we expect to see in Dallas about really important about say Makoto told you if you have to bog down on first down. What is it house like know like second down? Take the ball away you get in the back to the office. Always thought that was twenty dollars. This is really important. Just like Get off the field as quickly as possible and get the ball back into your office. His hand Also yes that's exactly. I plan on doing about they. All the yeah pathbreaking was fine. But like OPTIMA goals Get the ball and I plan on like just playing my tight coverage and then getting my head around look for the ball each chance I get. Then we'll go from there. Do you think your instincts or your ball skills make you so good at taken the football away at Tulsa or both. I mean what you put a hit or the other. I think that a little bit of both I think happy boss off. My instincts was still kind of growing. I know like I know kindergarten to the ball. I really was like I was really just trying to get my head around at any point. Where the ball is that Trying to get my housing quarterback and see like where he's throwing the ball or just let's just watching like the receiver and seemed like his Move on top of them not secure so I mean I'd probably say far all my instincts are still like it's great like they're still like growing has right now. A lot of people call Jack Dorsey Okay so basically play a very large twitter following that You know a lot of high school. Kids would depend on that as their way to kind of get to Klay and say hey clay, I'd love to train with the I'd love to do some stuff and. I'm not I'm not into like I'm not trying to be like no like tiring. Go against the grain. I'm not. I'm not I'm not that. What I didn't receive, Nabet so. Hats report. Clan. Hashtag Free Clay Mac now. If you're not familiar with Klay would, you should be. Clay trained several defensive backs across the NFL I think most notably the the cowboys crush Jamal Adams He. He's worked with Jim Olson sixth. Grade Jeff Okuda. Who just went third overall. I believe actually saw you on ESPN hugging Jeff after he was picked by the Lions. And of course, worked with Byron. Jones really helped get Byron cleaned up when he made the move to corner did a lot to help him. Somebody that Byron trusted so much that actually had klay come out to California. Remember bumping into your training camp last year when I saw you walk across the field, and it was Byron was there in your door and I know. Know you also work with to the cowboys. New draft picks Reggie Robinson from Tulsa and Trayvon digs from Alabama before jump to those like guess, just tell us. How do you get into this? Because a lot of people I? Think wonder like you know how to somebody become a clay Mac or a d. rob or anybody like that. How did you get into this? I was actually a coping America for. Full end. Up Sitting at my desk officer of countrywide loans. and. Got Phone call from hostile coach. James Jones I went to come Campbell high school so. Phone wrong and he wanted me to come out because I was a college. Og Merrick's May hostile so wanna come out and just just GonNa look at his defense bets so I did. And thought it was going to be at thirty forty five minutes, so ended up, being at the two two and a half hours and went back. The next day went back the next day in. Like for me. The thing that struck me was that it was a I live in Carrolton Kimmel Lozano cliffs hour drive for me. So I don't know what it was as some kind of intuition more. I don't know what it was, but I I became addicted to it. Don't sound so and the rings and I. Think Because you know sometimes these kids you know. They not privy to some things that Gaza are attributed to as relates to advanced schematics. Another chance to work on your skillset fundamental things that you need to prepare yourself for the next level on the next level. So when I was able to come back the stuff that I learned I was eager at that particular point like trying to teach the younger gods, what I'm saying, so just got a discount on materialized scenario then buffed to to to be rob which Amid his one family members are play college ball together. And it pretty much just started from there, so is it was maybe Robin getting margin hosts? We've started altogether. At Saint Louis Group and then from there. I just got infectious in just goofing. And so many guys is bobby reference. Come to you guys I. WanNa put something to bed. Because as you can imagine, my twitter mentions I know bobbies. They get so excited about this notion of Jamal Adams coming to Dallas. Cowboys in good faith try to get him last year. It didn't work out. Does this feel like an oral Thomas Situation for you for the cowboy fans in other words. Even if the cowboys had for, they're gonNA, still have to pay this guy a top market value. Was it ever a real possibility? And funny, you say that that was that was my logic by you know okay. Even they got, and they have the. Sam So. Is it working from a business? Perspective is just get him just halls those. Beautiful Smile Stanford your. Fan Base around up in line, and then you have to ship them all four. You know you can't come to an agreement saying from wise but when actually you know, that was his market that he loves I mean he acts absolutely loves a Dallas and out there and you know actually. I have a very intimate relationship immunised family and been not to new kind of Belabor. The point per se but. It was a lot of excitement around that. I just opted lot exciting around that. "Because Dak Prescott on draft night also had a bunch of people re tweeted an old tweet where he said the cowboys decided to get rid of Romo and then he had actually sit in the same room as him which was probably a little much but I mean I think everybody gets. That's that's a little in the past and you know nobody wants to hear that. I don't think you know you already take or retake that I actually think I got to defend him here. A little bit full disclosure. Ask people to air their dirty laundry without giving a little bit of my own. I put a tweet out there about Aaron Andrews a few years back and then of course we end up working on the sidelines and I see her. She's actually lovely at. I know how hard she works it. The energy is a little different once. You've done their job head. Yeah so I I feel for you. But it's a good thing tweets. I would've taken back to. I was able to delete all my tweets about Jane before we started working together. That wouldn't have been good if she would have thought that. Now I'm curious about in this speaking of Dak Prescott you know. He's about to get paid as one of the highest payed quarterbacks in the NFL. I'm sure you don't have any illusions of what your job is when you're walking in which you're walking in here to to be the backup quarterback and Potentially somebody that they can groom to maybe be more down the line What do you view as your responsibility? Walking in the door as somebody. Who's competing for that number two spot behind Dak Prescott? Yeah I think the biggest thing for me. Is You know from from day one. The I stepped in there. I've I've got to be the same guy that I've been the last seven years and whether that's now pushed acts starting job or just compete to make the team. I'M GONNA do whatever it takes. I've always been kind of one of those team I guys so not not GonNa try to overstep any boundaries and you know DAX starter and he has been for the last few years and you know obviously deservingly. He's he's about to get paid for what you want. He's done field the last few years so the biggest thing for me. Is You know. I'm just going to try to come in and learn as much as I can from him. He was in a similar situation to me as being a fourth-round graphic obviously not not in the seventh round but very similar playing styles in similar situation. So being able to kind of pick his brain a little bit and just Absorb as much information as possible as soon as I walk in the door. I think that will not done official for me. What I think is intriguing to. Ben Is with the Mike. Mccarthy regime were just as new as dealing with him. You're going to be But he talked to head of the draft to the importance of having a backup that because Dallas. They've sort of struggled with having guys that are that they have developed enough that they consider them valuable trade pieces a moving down the line. Meaning you're going to get some meaningful reps. Do you feel like Dallas was sort of an ideal situation for you. Given some of the places you can go as backup. Sort of get lost in the mix. Sure I think no doubt. In the coach McCarthy's track record speaks for himself with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. And I think no mass. Lynn was a seventh round agreed to and he had a he had a pretty good No career I think what he was in the League. Nine or ten years so Just the guys these worked with before and after being drafted into some of the other teams churches at had been interested in me too and said you know dude you have ended up in a better place with coach McCarthy in touch Nas Meyer so They were just sitting there calling for me and just stay in touch because you never know kind of how this thing goes in the NFL. So extremely excited to get to work with touch. Mccartan brings to the table in terms of getting to go and work with coach McCarthy and working with the rest of the team. Do you have an idea of what that's supposed to look like yet with with some of these covert restrictions still in place? Do you know I guess. What's the next step for you in this process of trying to get to work and then get prepared for the season you know? I don't know my coach. Smart text me last night and said hey you know. I'm GonNa give you a rain tomorrow and I'll have. We've kind of been laying out a rough schedule but I think somebody's virtual meetings are supposed to start next week so they sent me a an IPAD. That has the playbook and some of this stuff already preloaded into it so I think you know. I'm in the same position as these guys are. No one really knows how to react and adapt to this thing so I think their their plan is. You know we're just GONNA say the same week by week and as soon as we hear anything else you know. Will relay information as soon as we can. You guys. What I think is interesting to for you. Ben is a lot of these guys on offense or coming into a new situation with the exception. You know doc wasn't in the virtual chats last week by all accounts even though that wasn't officially confirmed this offense literally has a week on you. They started last Monday. And they're learning the terminology and this new offense since there's been a change. So do you think that helps you a little bit? Because I know Dat could talk a little bit about. This really applies to any player when they come from college to the NFL. There's so much information It's really gonNA rely on you to be a self starter. You one of those guys are sort of embracing this challenge. Yes so it's actually pretty interesting about all. This is my five years in college. I've had five different offense coordinator so every every spring I was getting used to the plan of. Hey you know. I've got a new coach in. I've got an another quarterback competition so I've been part of five different playbook Kinda had to had to learn on my feet quick in those five years so been around a lot of ball and had a lot of different coaches. "Here's Jane and Bobby all right. We'll what age raft. And what a debut for Mike McCarthy here in Dallas you know there were so many concerns about what the strapped with look like and even the cowboys own admission that leading into the strap that they had a glitch during their mock draft during a trade which I loved Jerry sort of toying with us on things by all accounts not only went well for the cowboys but it was as if in like it was a little bit of Murphy's law anything that could go wrong. Did they finally got some good Karma Inoue. Bobby were you as shocked. I was deceived away. This draft went for them this year. I didn't think there was any way at all CD. Lamb would fall to them at seventeen and I didn't think there was any way at all that trayvon digs. It'd be there fifty one at ending. There was any way at all. Neville gallimore eighty two and I didn't think there was any way at all the Bradley and I would be all the way at the back. End of the fifth so they got incredible value all across the board throughout the draft just an unreal classes. You said a lot of times. We're sitting there watching the board and guy he just came off and this guy came off and rats. We really liked that guy and we thought that was the target. And only when we do get some sort of miracle of thornhill falls you or T. J. Watt falls to you. Then it's been tristen hill or it's been Taco Charlton. Then it's it's been a little bit disappointing for the fan base. I think this is the first time in years that fans were just right there with every pay goad. Yes yes yes. And it's because they get CD lamb trayvon digs Neville gallimore and all these guys at such incredible value Daniel Jeremiah for NFL network. It said that his greatest value picking the entire draft meeting a guy who went more spots away from where DJ had him ranked than any other player in the draft was Bradley Ni- and he said the cowboys got him more than a hundred picks later than he had had him ranked in his class. Oh value all over the board and a lot of exciting players and we'll get to talk to a couple of them today. I thought what was so interesting about the cd-rom pick was. I think I saw one juror. Mock draft that had sealion falling to the cowboys at seventeen and I joked on NFL. Now when I when I did the show earlier today I said old takes exposed. I said the fans are going to want the Godley. Pick a CD Leeann. But it's GonNa make more sense for them to go and get a guy like caleb on chase on and there was Kayla von Chase on who we talked about it offensive player. We also talked about. Cj Henderson who had already went the quarterback in AJ Carol who was already gone at that point and then there was a possibility of trading back picking up Cesar Ruiz and in possibly getting another pick. Something that I thought was interesting the saints when did they went and got Cesar Ruiz By just holding it there. Pick twenty four but the fact. Cd-rom fell to them and by their own admission. They did not do one. Mock draft were. Cd-rom was in fact they didn't speak to CD LAN. Obviously they were familiar with them. He played three times at. At and T. Stadium so they knew who the guy was But she's absolutely fascinating that here was this guy seemed like such a luxury item and that Jerry Jones is he never came out and said it when Calvin Watkins after we're Yeah Jerry. Where are you making these fix. The Internet identified that they were in fact on their yacht. The side by side pictures were absolutely amazing. What such a decadent pick on an extravagant yacht. And I've gotTa think that Jerry Jones was doing cannonballs off that yacht when things were done just because of the versatility of CD LAN and now a look at this offense. I just want to put a little respect on my boy. Michael Gallons name. All these analysts coming out and saying well the cowboys have got a maury cooper a tyranny Williams terrance Williams has been gone and he's been gone for a long time. I turn out in the club. Terrance Williams was cut by an XFL team three months ago. So I mean there have been several transactions since terrance Williams was last on a football team respect on Michael Gallup's dame a guy who got increasingly better as the year went on and I hated that the game in Philly came down to Michael Gallup in the end zone and he he was close. He had that mall. But put some respect on this kid's name but now you're adding guy like CD land to the mix when you've already got chew guys who had over a thousand receiving yards next year. I also think what's going to be interesting. Bobby and you can speak a little bit more because you watch lot of the tape. His contributions and he can make on special teams. Yeah he's I mean he's going to be and that's actually kind of the interesting thing. I think they got in a couple of their picks not just CD lamb who can contribute on special teams potentially But I think Reggie Robinson the corner. They picked their their talked about. You know his special teams ability. I would guess Trayvon digs is GonNa do some special teams work digs is a a a really hard worker and a guy with a real zeal for knowledge and wanting to do everything. He can't help the team win. So I think that you know a low key thing that a lot of people haven't been talking about is how much of the cowboys have improved their special teams unit? Which was a disaster last year? From MISSED KICKS TO Awful kick coverage to telling somebody you know to Code Fair catch and fair catch. No don't do what you want. Everything from communication to execution everywhere across the board was awful with the special teams last year. I honestly think it cost them a couple of games and they've done a lot not just to improve their offense and their defense with this draft and with free agency but they've also done a lot to help really strengthen and solidify that special teams unit. Yes so let's talk about all the areas. They covered which is amazing to me that they were able to do it this way this year. They covered the cornerback position. They covered the defensive line position. Both in the draft and also with some of their undrafted. Free agents Rondell Carter. Of course a guy out of James Madison's they went and picked up. They gave him type of money. That you typically see could with seventh rounder. That's how much they were buying into him. Which interestingly enough to their center that they decided to trade back for with the eagles a guy that went to Wisconsin very similar to Travis Smart guys offensive. Lineman coming out of Wisconsin. So I I gotTa Tell You. I was really really impressed. The draft in. Oh by the way. We've got him in our show today. They wind up that late. Round quarterback Mike McCarthy in reference that he wanted a guy that that they want to have meaningful reps if they want to develop for trade value and a guy that slandered. Tony Romo a bit in tweets. Tony has a bit of a beehive. Hey Hey if we're if we're to look in and follow history than slandering. Tony Romo tweet on draft day means that he's about to get paid thirty five million in four years. You know. You're all about trends and analysis here bobby but I think fans are going to be really impressed with been. I know I was when I walked away from our interview. So we've got him coming up and then also claim accuse the defensive backs coach that works with rudy remarks trayvon's eggs and Reggie Robinson you can also sort of tell us what they expect from this physician in area where how is really going to shutdown corner in Dallas in recent memory. Although I would argue I thought Jordan Lewis. A really began to step up last year. I'd like to see a were. His game takes him this year under this new defense. But this is a jammed pack. Show we keep bringing them to you guys because we're averaging a little over ninety thousand downloads and listen so thank you so much but let's get to know still. Have these new cowboys players? Shall we joining us now? Is New Cowboy's quarterback then to new chief from James Madison? The team's seventh round pick. You can follow him on twitter at be underscored Ghanouchi D. I N. UCI six Ben. How're you doing? Good appreciate you for having me on absolutely excited to have you here and talk about i. Guess the lead up to the draft was Dallas team. You knew was interested. Did you have a lot of conversations with them? And then the leading up all the way to getting a phone call from the team to to explain it. It was probably the craziest three days of my life and an Saturday. Kinda put the exclamation point on that. But YEAH LEADING UP. Dallas was one of the four five teams that I had had constant communication with leading up to it and Doug Nas Mar. The quarterback coaches wanted to kind of drove the conversations that that led up to the weekend. And then as we kinda got closer to this thing he called me. You know Wednesday before the drafted started in that he called me Friday and said you know. Hey we'll touch Saturday just as we kind of. Get close to this thing. Worshiping you on our radar. We'd love to have you here in Dallas or even see how this whole thing plays out. Obviously that had no idea. How ARE WE GONNA go? And then At the beginning of the sixth round Started coming in contact and saying. Hey you know we're trying to get you. We don't we don't want another team to get you on so so just keep your phone on. You should keep you updated as we get closer to this thing. I got to tell. You Ben you got a little exposed. I love twitter. Bobby and I try to give agents a heads up if we see something on twitter that maybe they need to clear up ahead of the draft. You couldn't have possibly seen this but a little Romo slander. Warn Romo has like a beehive as it applies Dallas. How would you Love Slash? Hate Mail. Did you get when people saw that. That tweet in. Do you want to clarify that? Yeah sure I'd love to clarify so is for two thousand fourteen in now it. May I think I was price? Seventeen years old at the time. And there's probably a national televised game on and he had made a bad or something. That's just the first thing that POPs to my mind but shoot. I've had plenty of those before. Thrown five interceptions every game in a four. Before I'm sure that the Benvenuti's horrible tweets or refer go after that too but now Tony Romo is one of those guys that very similar situation came from. Fcs school battle his way in and had one of the most respected careers in in Dallas in been able to kind of come into a similar situation as him in play. The same team has him. You can't ask for anything else while interesting parallels there bobby if you think about you know there are tons and it's funny. I I was I was doing a podcast with will cain for me. Spn On Monday. And that was when when we started talking about Ben. And the pick for Ben Wilson. That was the first player that came to his mind when he was watching them. A little bit. It's like man. There's some some Romo stuff here with the improvisation and some of the fun little throws on the run. I got to say you know. You're not alone..

"Now coming straight to you from the lone star state. Here's Jane and Bobby. All right we'll what age raft and what a debut for Mike McCarthy here in Dallas you know. There were so many concerns about what the strapped with look like, and even the cowboys own admission that leading into this strap that they had a glitch. During their mock draft during a trade which I loved Jerry sort of with us on. Things by all accounts not only went well for the cowboys it was as if in. Like it was a little bit of Murphy's law anything that could go wrong did. They finally got some good Karma Inoue Bobby. Were you as shocked? I was deceived away. This draft went for them this year. I didn't think there was any way at all CD. Lamb would fall to them at seventeen, and I didn't think there was any way at all that trayvon digs. It'd be there fifty one at ending. There was any way at all Neville Gallimore. Would we eighty two and I didn't think there was any way at all. The Bradley and I would be all the way at the back end of the fifth, so they got incredible value all across the board throughout the draft. Just an unreal classes, you said a lot of times we're sitting there. Watching the board and guy, he just came off and this guy came off and rats. We really liked that guy and we thought that was the target and. Would when we do get some sort of miracle of. Thornhill falls to you or T. J. Watt falls to you. Then it's been tristen hill, or it's been Taco Charlton, then it's. It's been a little bit disappointing for the Fan Base I think this is the first time in. Years that fans were just right there with every pay goad. Yes, yes, yes, and it's because they get CD lamb. Trayvon digs Neville Gallimore, and all these guys at such incredible value Daniel Jeremiah for NFL network. It said that his greatest value picking the entire draft, a guy who went more spots away from where DJ had him ranked than any other player in the draft was Bradley and I and he said the cowboys got him more than a hundred picks later than he had had him ranked in his class. Oh. Value all over the board and a lot of exciting players, and we'll get to talk to a couple of them today. I thought what was so interesting about the cd-rom pick. Was I think I saw one juror mock draft that had deleon falling to the cowboys at seventeen and I joked on NFL now when I when I did the show earlier today I said old takes exposed, I said the fans are going to want the. Godley pick a CD Leeann, but it's GonNa. Make more sense for them to go and get a guy like caleb on chase on, and there was Kayla. Von Chase on who we talked about it. Offensive Player. We also talked about CJ. Henderson, who had already went the quarterback in Aj Carol, who was already gone at that point, and then there was a possibility of trading back. Picking up Cesar, Ruiz and in possibly getting another pick something that I thought was interesting, the saints when did they went and got Cesar Ruiz? by just holding it. There pick twenty four. But. The fact CD lamb fell to them and by their own admission they did not do one mock draft were cd-rom was in fact, they didn't speak to CD LAN. Obviously they were familiar with them. He played three times at a t and T. Stadium, so they knew who the guy was but she's absolutely fascinating that here was this guy seemed like such a luxury item and that Jerry Jones is? He never came out and said it when Calvin Watkins after Jerry. Where are you making these fix? The Internet identified that they were in fact on their yacht. The side by side pictures were absolutely amazing. What such a decadent pick on an extravagant! You're and I've got think that Jerry Jones was doing cannonballs off that yacht when things were done just because of the versatility of CD LAN and now a look at this offense. I just want to put a little respect on my boy. Michael Gal's name all these. Coming out and saying well. The cowboys have got a Maury Cooper. A tyranny Williams terrance Williams has been gone and he's been gone for a long time I turn. Out In the club Terrance Williams was cut by an XFL team three months ago so I mean. There have been several transactions since terrance. Williams was last on a football team. Respect on Michael. Gallup's Dame, a guy who got increasingly better as the year went on, and I hated that the game in Philly came down to Michael Gallup in the end zone, and he he was close. He had that mall, but put some respect on this kid's name, but now you're adding guy like CD lamb to the mix when you've already got chew guys who had over a thousand receiving yards next year I. also think what's going to be interesting. Bobby and you can speak a little bit more because you watch lot of the. The tape his contributions and he can make on special teams. Yeah, he's I. Mean He's going to be, and that's actually kind of the interesting thing I think they got in a couple of their picks, not just CD lamb, who can contribute on special teams potentially but I think Reggie Robinson the corner. They picked their. They talked about you know his special teams. Ability I would guess Trayvon digs is gonNA. Do some special teams work? Digs is a a a really hard worker and a guy with a real zeal for knowledge and. Wanting to do everything he can help the team win so I think that you know a low key thing that. A lot of people haven't been talking about is how much of the cowboys have improved their special teams unit, which was a disaster last year from missed kicks to awful. Kick coverage to telling somebody you know to Code Fair catch and fair catch. No, don't do what you want. Everything from communication to execution everywhere across the board was awful with the special teams last year I. Honestly think it cost them a couple of games, and they've done a lot not just to improve their offense and their defense with this draft and with free agency, but they've also done a lot to help. Really strengthen and solidify that special teams. Unit. Yes, so let's talk about all the areas they covered. Which is amazing to me that they were able to do it this way this year they covered the cornerback position. They covered the defensive line position both in the draft, and also with some of their undrafted free agents Rondell. Carter of course, a guy out of James Madison's. They went and picked up. They gave him type of money that you typically see seventh rounder. That's how much they were buying into him. which interestingly enough to their center that they decided to trade back for with the Eagles, a guy that went to Wisconsin similar to Travis smart guys offensive Lineman, coming out of Wisconsin, so. I I gotTa tell you. I was really really impressed. The draft in the way we've got him in our show today. They wind up that late round. quarterback Mike McCarthy in reference that he wanted a guy that that they want to have meaningful reps if they want to develop for trade value and a guy that slandered Tony. Romo a bit in tweets. Tony has a bit of a Beehive Hey. Hey, if we're if we're to look in and follow history than slandering Tony Romo tweet on draft day means that he's about to get paid thirty five million in four years. You know you're all about trends and analysis here. Bobby but I think fans are going to be really impressed with been. I know I was when I walked away our interviews, so we've got him coming up and then also claim accuse the defensive backs special. Coach that works with. Rudy remarks, trayvon's eggs and Reggie Robinson. You can also sort of tell us what they expect from this physician in area where how he's really gonNA shutdown corner..

"I think the only pick that that most folks are that some folks were just kind of like not as excited as they were about. Was this last. One of Neville Gallimore because defensive tackles on the Board and Defensive Linemen that were on the board at the time one in particular Jordan Elliott People there are some that would have preferred Jordan Elliott but to me Jordan. Elliott is a guy that was a one year starter who had issues at Texas getting back on the field due to inconsistencies. Went to Mizzou was a one year starter and mop the floor with less competition that he played lesser competition. Now never gallimore played in the Big Twelve. Were most people. Don't even know how to play. Defense Okay Yeah. And he did very well. The production have not been as high as you would want but this is a guy that was going up against much better competition. And he's got more notches on his belt in terms of experience at a guy a guy that can give you some snaps immediately. I WANNA give all shut out 'cause on our own Connor Livesey who's on one of our. Does one of our fellow podcasts. Yeah he put out a draft guide and he and his big bore those interesting thing you know he had. Cd Lamma Six He had he had a a trayvon. Digs at forty on his board. So he was pretty happy with those picks he must be pretty excited about level gala more because he'd had him ranked as the thirty second player on the entire. Yeah Yeah Yeah so little. Little bit is script. There may be something there you know so I been awhile since I've gone. We've got three rounds into the draft. And you really haven't had that pick where you're going like well. Yeah we'll just have to accept that one. These are all three very good. Picks is the best art to the draft that I can remember in a while and I will get I will say my piece and then I will give you the floor for the fine finale before we get out of here. What I want to say is that I looked at this draft the same way as guys like David Hellman and I think Tom you looked at it as well. Is that the cowboys. Made some very very telling decisions this off season. They decided that they are paying Amari Cooper after last year deciding that they were paying tank. They're paying Elliott and they paid the linebacker Jalen. Smith may be a little early. Who Cares about that? They come into this year they decide. They're paying the quarterback they're paying their wide receiver. But they're gonNA have to let some high priced free agents go. They had left their sack leader from last year. Robert Quinn go. They had to let their cornerback. The best one on the roster go. They had to let their slot receiver go. Okay what they did in this draft more than makes up for some of their losses because they got guys. They knew that they had to go in after the twenty nineteen debacle of draft. Where Tristan Hill is your first pick and he gives you almost nothing on the field where you get almost you get nothing from Connor McGovern but there's hope for him this year. You only have one guy that actually produces and he's in a backup role and that is your running back. That's your running back to you. Got In the fourth round. They're like that's your only guy that that that contributed you had to come into this draft after what you've done in the off season you did a great job and defensive tackle. You had to come and produce in this draft and what the cowboys did is. They didn't feel pressure. They didn't feel like we gotta reach. We gotta get this Gaga that which we see teams do that. Every single year writers. They didn't do that. They waited and they they let players come to them and man did they that they hit they hit your is pretty sad when know Tony Pollard? That was the name that you were grasping for having done this long enough I can tell it happens to somebody When that's your best production from an entire draft class that's that's twenty nineteen was not a good draft for the cowboys. I think conor mcgovern may help salvage that. This looks to be just a massive leap ahead and I have to go back to the fact that this says that there is a real Different role for the head. Coach of the Dallas Cowboy drafts game and I think we saw in twenty nineteen back in two thousand eighteen when they took chuck Taco Charleston bed. The coaches were coming in. They were pushing some decisions. I believe that were not initially healthy. Now this is literally you know. We've talked about the mythical blessed player available. They will only seem to be taking the best player available with Seaney lamb. They did that almost purely wide. Receiver was a position of need but it was third or fourth down the list so they jumped on him Then they came in on day to address the defense. They got the secondary they got the line. Bolstered up Got More picks to see what they can scrounge up out there so this is a go ahead Tom. I was GONNA and this is just. You know it's it's a great situation to be as. I said I think even if they really don't get anything tomorrow to ask draft that's what I was thinking if even if they don't do anything tomorrow but go after guys traits Tom. Who cares like they've done so well in the first three they and they did it by remaining. You know diligent patient not losing their control. You can only control what you can control. And that's what the decisions you make not letting others affect you and make you jump up or give up more value in uncertain year to go and grabbed. Is You just kind of let it fall to you that way? I would be remiss if I didn't mention this Tom Today. Marks are hundred and fifty first episode. We've been at this for three years. My friend Gosh three years you've been putting May Yeah Tom Times Fun. When you're having flies or something on those life you're not you're not a man of all the words. I can't even find people's names sometimes but you know we. Do we do a heck of a job and I know from from Utah and I gotta say it to our producer who doesn't get a lot of credit but we gotta give him some here Tim. Our producer three years ago gave us a platform gave us a voice and we ended up joining espy nation podcast network were so thankful for SP nation were so thankful for our podcast like Rj. Oh Tony Casillas Kelsey Charles Megan Murray Connor and Dalton. We Are we are very thankful for.

"They really liked they. Were going to get to do it again. Because they had guys like Bolton there in bond there in digs there and they really got to make a pit right there and they went. They went with the corner. And I don't think this is necessarily a pick You know it is A. It's a kick for their need in a sense that Ben went and addressed the cornerback position. But I don't think that out of the second rounders much better you could have done. Been getting a guy like digs. Yeah as I said. This was a borderline for frowned option for the cowboys. Yeah how can you can point You know he's I just don't see he's still see him being someone they're going to regret taking. Yeah and and I mean and think about it. This way like the the cowboys from what they'd been doing in these in these first two days of the draft. They've got to be feeling great because their rivals in the Northeast Philadelphia are ready to burn the city down. Let's take a moment before we move on third-round. Let's talk about what the Eagles did please. Tom Regale us to you know. Of course the eagles were upset because they wanted to trade up for CD LAMB in jump ahead of the cowboys because they were a little worried and worried you no worries came to fruition. They were upset about that. You know Otc DID HIS. Trolling the nation. And they were just livid about. We can't plug that enough guys. Go read that please. And so they were you know. The Eagles apparently decided that having to trade their second round pick To get up ahead of the cowboys wasn't worth it. So they hung on to the second round pick and they came up to after The cowboys selected digs and they drafted quarterback jalen hurts. And it's not. It's not so much that well okay hurts is kind of a maybe quarterback is what are they trying to do? Yes exactly when you got that. Receiver major needs at receiver. They could've taken to receivers and backlogs had them take receivers. They need defensive backs. They need a lot of different things because that team a couple of years ago was miraculously made their way to a super bowl win. That is not the same team they are. They they won the NFC east last year by default. So it just wasn't a great day and if you are if you have any time to go check out. Bgn bleeding nation. Watch just to sit there. Sit behind like a little. Just be as quiet as a mouse. And Watch the world burn. It is not suitable for. It's not suitable for children. It's not suitable any but I gotta give credit target our Guy Danny Phantom one more time because when we were questioning. Why would the eagles go and get a quarterback? Tom You had mentioned something about I use you had stepped away for a moment. And you said the greatest you know. They already have the greatest quarterback to ever win a super bowl on the bench and then Danny's reply was well. It sounds like the Eagles are trying to get Carson Wentz another ring major great great message Carson wentz fans. You are the man. You are quarterback. We're going to draft the guy that's going to fill in for you when you inevitably go down the only thing I can say after that after those that exchange between you and Danny was Dan you win the night. That's it right there. You win but it just. I don't understand you know maybe jalen hurts. Turns out to be a pretty good player in a lot of people have doubted. Jalen hurts in college and he has done a pretty good job for himself. He was a runner up to the heisman. Trophy with Oklahoma. But I just I don't see I don't see the the draft strategy at all in what the Eagles have done and I don't see how they got better in fact in the first round you can make. You can make in the first round Tom. You could have made arguments that they chose the wrong receiver. They chose Jalen Reagan instead of Justin Jefferson. So it's just it's been it's been a it's gone a little bit awry for them and we love it. Yes because you know what they spend so much time obsessing over us. We'll spend a few minutes talking smack about them now. We move on to the third round and I think that what was the most interesting part about the third round was yet again. Tom Be Cowboys. Were sitting there and they had a lot in front of them a lot of decisions that they could possibly make because guys that they didn't expect to be around we're still around at the start of the third round and You know if this was one where you saw some people that you really were thinking man if they could just do like CD lamb and keep dropping Zach bond was one that are really interested in and you know he was a borderline first rounder for Mitt for some people and he made it all the way to pick seventy four before the yes. Yes that was sudden matched him up. That was such a heartbreaker you know. Yeah he was. He was one that I think a lot of people were kinda hoping was going to hang around and you had some other people that might have been interesting for cowboys. Like Julian. Guevara and Ashton Davis. Yeah and they were taken before they could They could get there and Justin week.'. Was another guy that was maybe going to slide enough for them to be interesting and it would have been interesting to see what have happened if he'd hung around your but when the cowboys were on the clock You know there were still some good options left an and so you want to go ahead and announce the picker shall I do it? Let's just say who I'll say? Who's on the board? I'll let you announce the pig so the cowboys you know. They had lots of guys that they were sitting there. Looking at Jordan Elliott was still available. The defensive tackle they had curtis weaver. It was mainly. There was a lot of value in that defensive line and the cowboys chose they chose Neville Gallimore that got him another Oklahoma player. A teammate of CD lamb at defensive tackle and You know he's described as a one gappor and he's supposed to have a really good motor Didn't have a lot of production. You know so he. He wasn't the perfect choice. He didn't get a lot of sacks and there was a feeling that maybe he should have Produce Ola but more in that aspect. But then you have to remember. We're talking about pick eighty two It's a little bit harder to get a walk in starter and you know. This is a team that that side Gerald McCoy and Don Terry poll in the off season. So they weren't drafting this guy rolling out there week one. Yeah and and at this point and the draft in the third round. The Edge rushers. That were left. Curtis Weaver couple of guys that you might be high on but most of them were all unfinished products in all of them. Were kind of guys. That would need a little bit more time to get ready to be. Starting some of them need to put on weight Just to be able to play in the NFL So didn't Gallimore here. Made a lot of sense when you think that gala more can kind of step in immediately and play a role kind of he has favorable light comparisons to the former Dallas cowboy me collins. Yeah And you know he's he's three four which is a pretty good way for three tech and L. hopefully at some point he will get into an NFL oil run. Bad kind of that was one of the other. Things that got sideline was all that in a a fellow level training but You Know He. He's a good way to look that I like to look at. It was brought up because I was kind of a listening to a lot to the draft of on one wall on five three the fan and I think it was dame brugare was one that was mentioned that you know. Get their loser. Name their voices a little bit but I think they asked him and he said that all three of these picks had one thing in common and that they were taking about ten spots later than he had them slaughtered in his big board He said he had a CD. Lamb at seven and he got taken it seventeen. I've seen you know the cowboys said they had him six on their board on O'Connor lives the had him at six. Bob Sturm had him at six. So you know. He came in about ten spots behind Matt. It's great value for the cowboys. Saying same thing with trump on digs he was slotted somewhere around the thirty five to forty he gets taken at fifty one great value there and low behold noble gallimore. He's up around seventy sixty nine seventy kind of player so once again. You're getting value. You're getting a player taken later than the people that are ranking them on these boards. Say they should go. Yeah that has any sorry going at Tom yet to that to me to do that as consistently with all three of your picks especially with because you know the closure of the first round the first pick it is the harder it is to do that. So seething lamb was a big win in that and digs and gallimore were also wins and that says that the Dallas Staff is doing something right. Yeah and I'm just to further further drive your point home a little bit for all of you folks out there. The subscriber read pro football focus. I know a lot of folks like pro football focus. A lot of folks. Don't like them. Whatever whatever it is on the PF draft board CD lamb was ranked. Six trayvon digs was ranked thirty first and Neville. Gallimore was ranked fifty. I know CD lamb. Seventeen trayvon digs to fifty one when he was a borderline first rounder and Neville Gallimore. Who was a was a surefire? Second Rounder by most draft ports fell to eighty two quality. Yeah you just. You just can't if you're doing that round after round after round what it does is it just increases the chance that you're going to hit on a draft pick because let's face it even first rounders could bust in the deeper in the draft. You go as a general rule of thumb. The more likely is that the player just not gonNA work out. Yes so you know getting through the first three rounds in getting players that actually look like they were valued higher than that to all these outside of value waiters. That's that sensible something because one thing we found out that the there's there's guys that have survived and continued to do this. You know ranking of draft picks. And they've done it because they've established a level of credibility and when you see so many of them agreeing on this stuff it's a positive side it's not the be all and end all that's going to be determined when we finally get these guys out on the field and see how they play but it's good to have you know now we're coming up on day three. The cowboys have four picks. There's not a lot of likelihood that they're going to hit on those but it's going to be great to track and see if they're still managing to catch people that are falling past their actual value. Yeah because when you look at most drafts. They typically have a theme for teams that are doing well like I said. Pfm PRO football focus. Mike Renner who's one of those guys that people respect in the draft world. Mike said with CD LAMB and Trayvon digs. Never Gal. More than the cowboys are ripping the DOORKNOB off this draft. Every pick they made mutt. Were much higher on most draft boards. So when you look at it if you want to..

"Cha You know me of course from BTV INFORMATICA as you're humble host on the show. Welcome back to our continued coverage of the two thousand twenty NFL draft. We are here to discuss the Dallas cowboys. Third Round selection with the eighty second overall. Pick America's team took Oklahoma Defensive Tackle Neville Gallimore and we brought in a very special friend to get into it and so I don't want to waste any time. Let's talk some Gallimore with the one. And only bobby right here on the OJ. Pleased to be joined now by the internationally famous. You know him he definitely knows details about your life that you may not even know yourself the one only NFL network producer. Bobby Belt Robert. How does your draft experience? It is great. It's been a pretty awesome couple of days. I think we you and I already talked about this. A little bit but I think the country needed this. This is a nice little Escape kind of normal sports relations. And it's been it's been awesome. Yeah I really enjoyed Friday like the whole day. Just like the proverbial water cooler. You know what I mean like. That was crazy. You know like the water cooler. This did again and then we got the draft again at night and then like Monday. We're GONNA have all reaction from the dry. It's going to be good like I as much as the. Nfl got killed early on for the decision. They're going to go forward the draft. I think everybody realizes that was a good call. Well so we've already recapped. The cowboys draft picks in the first and second round of the twenty twenty. Nfl draft discussed CD lamb. We've discussed the younger digs. And we are now here. Robert to discuss the eighty second overall selection in the draft house cowboys taking Oklahoma Defensive Tackle Naval Gallimore. Your thoughts I like Gallimore and I think he was good value whereas probably would have been happy with him as a selection on the first or second round. Obviously since you know he was hanging around on third but I think he has good value in the third round and there was talk. Lena the last couple of days of the drafty Savi White Daniel Jeremiah. And Tom Zero talking about that. You know there was buzz that maybe gallimore could sneak into the back end of the first or early second round and so teams did like him and so I think the Dallas did get good value there and they certainly are desperate. I think for help along. Interior defensive line with me collins leaving Christian Covington kind of his status unknown and Tristen Hill Beam Tristan Hill They definitely need help. They're on the interior. Yeah I feel like you UH Out One third round defensive tackle in me and bringing another one similar color schemes collegiately. Obviously not the exact same I. I guess this isn't necessarily about Neville specifically but you mentioned Tristen Hill. I just find it and I mean. I don't think you live with a mistake just so that you don't admit failure but it is kind of crazy that it was this night a year ago that the cowboys drafted Tristan Hill. And here we are and they signed. Two defensive tackles in agency and spent their third round. Pick on one. I don't know that there's a louder siren that they could Blair that screams. That was a big mistake. Well and I think it's the biggest advocate in the building for him. The Guy who really wanted him to be here any more And so and that's obviously Rod Marinelli and so and even still at the time they talk about well. This wasn't just Rod. We make because Crystal Shard was onboard. Jew Okay Well Christie Shards gone now too. So there's really nobody that was really pounding the table for him and I think they are kind of shield with a little bit of regret on that pick and I. I think that we're rapidly. Seen things play out for him in a similar fashion to how they play Taco Charleston And I don't think the Tristan Hill is long the Dallas cowboys. So you are an expert on a lot of things but the NFL draft was Kinda like But the draft is sort of your your main wheelhouse I would say is your friend and close confidant So impressed me then impress me give something about Neville Gallon more. That only bobby would know. Because you're you're that guy that knows that type of stuff I I feel like I I'm GonNa say thank you for the Slow pitch under know hands off all that you're talking to me 'cause you already now. I've got the greatest nugget on Neville Gallimore rent. So Yeah He. He's been training next door to the Star at these sports performance center At Baylor Scott and white the star which is the same area that you see all these videos have guys working out usually does is coming onto the field as Neville gala warrenton draft prospects. Were leaving in fact when I started working out there gallimore which I think I reference to you. How prospects stopping down kind of shooting video gallimore was one of those is like Oh my. Gosh. That's Brian and so But he's been working out with Pete Jenkins and they longtime legendary defensive line coach at the college level spent. I think like two years with the Eagles in two thousand eleven thousand twelve But his main claim to fame is in the defensive line coach for a number of years through a couple different stops at Lsu and this is the doubly fun note that a lot of people don't realize p Jenkins is the man who in the nineteen eighties recruited one. Brian brought us to Louisiana University. And so we've gotTA BRIAN BROUGHT US naval gala more connection VIP Jenkins. Wow okay. Well I not only knew that you knew that but you know still fascinated. I mean having heard it for the second time so that is really cool. I won't tell you I will tell you even found that out. Though was I was on the phone with Brian asking him if he wanted to come. Check out these guys working out and I said and he said I can't make today instead I I p Jenkins and he stopped and he said p Jenkins bid the old defensive line coach and I said Yeah and he said he recruited me Alessi's like I didn't even know he was living in Dallas now. So Brian had no idea teaching because even in Dallas forget and was really excited to find out that he was was helping to connect with them again by actually out via Bryant but it was through chance. Good Times. I'm GONNA hard pivot for a second. We're talking we jumped onto record literally right after. Gama was taken by the cowboys. Just now Bobby. New England Patriots traded and drafted. Ucla TIGHT END Devin Siasi. That hurts the cowboys. Yeah so I mean you've been on that hunt for a while. I just wanted to get that out there. A lot of people talking like oh where is the GRONK REPLACEMENT GONNA come? I mean you know they could start to go down that path but okay so back the gala he's listed over three hundred pounds but as I understand. He is quite athletic. And maybe it doesn't move like he's over three hundred true And I also think that if you were to go look up some of his testing numbers from the combine. They're not impressive But I think that's more about there was a lot of poor testing numbers at the combine this year because public changed it up guys. We're working out at night. And they were physically fatigued and mentally fatigued from everything that have been going on throughout the day. So I don't hold those numbers too much against him and also he does move better than his. I think Testing Times. He better field athlete than you know and Underwear Olympian. But he is a he's a big man. You're GONNA notice them. I would bet he's the biggest guy on the defensive line. Now and he'll he'll move nimbly he moves better than Taco Charleston and so You know what it's actually interesting. I feel like they're not the same player. Because I feel like Gallimore can be more of a one technique and more of a run steph or if necessary but he he's he's big and moves really well for a size in the same way. That Tristan held us. But I think that he didn't do the better player interest until well it. Is You know it has been? I should say a really interesting first. Three rounds of the draft for a Mike McCarthy in his first season with the cowboys give me your thoughts on digs just You know briefly because I know that you guys are Brian. I'm thrilled because that was as a player that I know they were considering a fallback or trade back option at seventeen so they got right away right away. Everybody's everybody's super hyped about what you said. Yeah after they've got guys that's two guys that they considered top twenty picks that they were able to get you know at seventeen and fifty one and and obviously guy in lamb that they considered as the sixth best overall player that they got at seventeen and then the guy that considered around the seventeenth. Best player that they're able to get a fifty one so Great value they're really raw player But I mean has all the tools and this little box. I don't know that he's GonNa step in next year and be a starter right. I think he is probably going to have to require some seasoning. A little bit But the ceiling is a very very high for him because the tools are all there and he's only been playing defensive back for like three years He's a big Fan of Dallas. Cowboys always wanted to be here was hoping and praying. This is where he'd end up. And of course as you know the younger brother of Stefan Digs and Yeah and I felt bloodlines. The perfect skill set that you want and tools that you wanted the cornerback position and a guy who's really eager to learn more and become a better player. I don't remember it fully out the top of my head but I know that you do. I think I do but I'll let you take it. What was the obscure stat about Alabama players about? What the cowboys and the steelers? Drafting them. All Man I don't remember it. Well maybe I can remember it was. It was something like since a certain year and it was a long time ago the cowboys in St Louis Teams. That hadn't drafted player. Smell Obama an cowboys drunk scarborough. They drafted both scarborough and they ended that. I can't remember it must have been O. One zero two yeah. I kind of draft Tony Dixon. Now's the last Alabama player. They took him in the second round. The safety and so Yeah it was the Pittsburgh in Dallas and on a very long stretch when drafting the Alabama plays in Dallas. Actually got a long stretch of really having any Alabama players on their roster. I think he may be missing remembering this but I'm pretty sure that before. They drafted scarborough. Who didn't even make it to the fifty three the last player on the roster from Alabama I think was London Mcclain so on the digs episode. Here and so it. It's kind of funny. Because as long as they had Jason Garrett there and he's a Nick Sabin disciple they. They never really were able to make it work. That's again exactly what I said. I think it's obvious to people that were good friends. So there you go but okay last thing for you you know beyond just never gallimore your thoughts three rounds in on what the cowboys have done with. Lamb digs and.

I down to the Oklahoma forty eight a gain of ten Brendan Radley Hiles on the star this whole energy level of the offense has picked up with Collins in there, you can tell he's giving them hope. The question was would Collins get more time with Sean Robinson struggling so mightily Mary Patterson, deciding to make the switch in the first half and this paid dividends but TCU down forty five twenty seven at the moment. Twelve minutes remaining Collins takes a route in the flat clothes back to the right incomplete. Lot of traffic there. Jalen raker? The intended target Neville Gallimore. Is there to break it up?
