"This is Bloomberg daybreak Europe We will continue on a remorseless mission to squeeze Russia from the global economy piece by piece day by day and week by week We're dealing with an individual It doesn't play by the rules So I've always been very clear by the fact although he goes so far It is indeed a very dangerous moment It is basically the rewriting of these Georgia system that we've known in Europe since the end of the Cold War Bloomberg daybreak Europe on Bloomberg radio Good morning from London I'm Anna Edwards you're listening to daybreak Europe live on London DAB digital radio Good morning everybody 8 o'clock here in London and 9 o'clock if you're in Paris or Berlin so European equity markets just opening up this morning Opening fairly flat actually but futures suggest that once we get the kak and the Dax open the continental major European markets that we might see some further downside Just getting the cac actually open and it's only down by an 8th of a percent or so So not perhaps the severe downside that maybe futures were suggesting or not too severe but certainly more than more than a few tenths of a percent of the downside was the expectation The et cetera is not yet open we will look for that one The ibex in Spain down by three tenths of 1% the FTSE fairly flat this morning so overall the stock 600 actually holding up relatively well versus low expectation One of the reasons we had perhaps deteriorating expectations about west Oxford open was because of higher commodity prices and we certainly see that this morning We've been up by more than 5% on Brent at one point We're now up by 4.8% $118 is now the handle on the Brent price That has been taking the edge off expectations for stocks in everywhere apart from London really for the start of the trading day But as I say it's still waiting for the Dax to open things looking more robust than anticipated U.S. futures a little bit of downside there NASDAQ features down by a quarter of 1% but even in down futures actually fairly flat this morning So a lot of the action has been in the commodity space It's not just oil is also in zinc It's in wheat It's in gas It's in all kinds of different commodities for different reasons but all parts of the same narrative of course in terms of where money is going in bond markets we see that prices are going higher across the U.S. treasuries curve So we're seeing stocks being bought tentatively after we heard from Jerome Powell yesterday of course more on that shortly But we're also seeing bonds being bought sovereign debt being brought in yields coming to the downside The dollar index is a little stronger this morning up by an 8th of a percent on the dollar index the Euro is down by two tenths of 1% and the FTSE 100 down and 8th of a percent at one 33 86 That is a quick look at where we are across the broad market story Let us get the stocks that we are watching The individual stocks that could be on the move Bloomberg's Hannah joy and share joins me in the London studio to take me through some of the details Hannah let's start with the aviation sector Yes good morning Anna So Lufthansa it's the first major carrier to provide an earnings update since we've seen the extent of the disruption from the invasion of Ukraine Now it says the war is clouding prospects for a long waited recovery from the pandemic so you've got two things going on here You've got the pandemic rebound and you've got surging oil prices It's in that flights are diverting because of the shot is skies as well and that's clouding its prospects So it's the Europe's biggest airline It cuts its annual loss by two thirds in 2021 That was as COVID curbs eased and earnings this year should show further improvement but it says the Russian assault makes it almost impossible to provide an estimate Now increasing external costs will impact the entire airline industry this year that's what Lufthansa's warning the carriers currently hedged on 63% of its fuel needs for 2022 at $74 a barrel but that's lower than Ryanair which is on 80% hedged at $63 a barrel But there's good news capacity should be above 70% of 2019 levels this year and February sales were higher than at any time since the start of the pandemic as remember those are on The Crown fears they've started fading away Everyone's looking forward to Easter in the summer holidays now and they're getting their bookings in Okay yeah that's certainly something we'll continue to watch them We spoke to Ryanair about the bookings and yes they dropped off some 20% on the day of the invasion of Ukraine but have bounced back a bit since then they said that was just earlier on this week Let's talk about another corporate that's been giving us an update And that's telecom Italia What's the story there Yeah so the phone carrier reported an €8.6 billion loss for the fourth quarter That's after recording impairment charges in preparation for a spin off of its landline network the results compared with €6 billion profit a year earlier Fourth quarter bits of missed estimates while revenue was in line so that's for the earnings Now new CEO Pietro labriola has drawn up a plan to shake up the company by separating the landline network into a new unit called netco which is going to be focused on wholesale services The goal is to gain a solid revenue stream from a regulated tariffs and also sees commercial services spun off into a separate unit called cervical labriola has said he wants to build a single national phone network in Italy and avoid billions of Euros in investments for a merger of a smaller state backed open fiber The carrier has been suffering from stiff competition recently in a domestic market where in 2018 France's Iliad not just its way through and sparked a price war Okay so that's the story over on the telecom side a total what are we what's the latest news flow So of course total shares have been cleaning up recently on the soaring oil prices but it's.

Captain jevon crew. I'm sure we've all been watching. The heartbreaking scenes out of kabul and actually when this was sent in i think it was before the suicide bombing and the horrible attack anyway desperate afghans trying to cling to the side of a departing c. Seventeen another c. Seventeen packed the rafters with more than eight hundred people. A mother who gave birth on a c. Seventeen as it flew toward ramstein air force base. By the way. I saw a the call sign for these Air mobility command flights the c. Seventeen flights is reach r. e. a. c. h. And i believe the mother named her baby reach an honor of that c. seventeen crew netco. Yeah So anyway There's the lady gave birth Honesty seventeen as it flew toward ramstein airbase. I'm thankful for the skilled aviators. Flying these missions and the dedicated soldiers and marines maintaining some semblance of security at kabul airport. I for kappa. Jeff these seventeen. That's carrying the heaviest burden of this era. Left is the direct replacement for the forty. You flew during your time in the air force. I wondered if you're ever part of an any airlift like this. Did you ever have to make a call. Something like the call made by the seventeen commander who decided to take off with more than eight hundred passengers floor loaded in his hold. Can you provide any insight into what the strategic transport pilots might be thinking you know. I can't you're right this eve. One forty one. I mean the c. Seventeen is a replacement for the one forty one in a better replacement it. It's it's something. I would say between a. c. c. One forty one and a c. Five as far as its Its capabilities It it carries and holds much more than a one forty one not quite as much as a c. thi- but this thing can get in just about anywhere has an phenomenal Performance a short field Tactical what do they call that. Tattoo landing tat. Technical desens- is really cool because the the the version of the pratt whitney two thousand engine. They have the military version of it. I don't know what the the military specification for it is. The engine reverses not only the fan flow but the core flows. Well so yeah. It's it's yeah. It's an amazing amazing engine. And so that tied to the to the platform itself and the fly by wire and the maneuverability in and the legs that had has You know without being refueled. And you know just i have actually have some Some time on that thing in the sim twenty minutes. Nick does to do our good friend. General bell. I've promoted him several times. i think he's like a four star. Four star general. Maybe even jeff joint chiefs of staff by now. I don't know he he's he's a five star. Now's five star. He'd he'd be he'd be the third one was at the hap arnold and we're actually out. There were five. So five. Five star five star general. You can only attain five-star by order of congress. Your when the country is at war so macarthur arnold and eisenhower. Five stars in the cool thing about arnold is that he was a five-star not only in the army but then in forty seven when the air force broke off from the army he was a five star in the air force. So he's the only general to hold five stars. Well you know. But they didn't know about rick bell coming up the pipe. I'm sure he'll be way up there to anyway getting back to being a little bit. More serious I fortunately never participated in anything quite like this. The only the most unusual thing that i got to do when i was in Flying the one forty-one from eighty-three through eighty five foot for a couple of years Because they were trying to reduce the limit the liability that the air force had and they can only do me for two years. just getting The i would've loved to have stayed on the one forty one my entire time in the air force but They had different his We flew the airplane down to grenada in nineteen eighty three and that was the The little coup attempt the little. And by the time. I was involved in the operation. The initial wave of Of activity occurred with the initial c. One forty one a. C. one thirty flights Because i was flying. "So personally i'd still probably opt for the netco pack but I think they're both you know pretty viable so that was kind of most of the tesla stuff today Relatively light newsday and we are recording a little bit earlier today. Just because i have some some event tonight that i have to go to But in terms of non tesla specific stuff. So we got news today. That riviera has filed for an ipo bloomberg reporting this and they're apparently looking for evaluation of around eighty billion. I think last reports were that they raised at around twenty seven and a half billion post money valuation. So i think you know this would be a big spike in their valuation. I was expecting them to. Ipo may be more around fifty So this was surprisingly to me. Not necessarily all that surprising given the context of of the market in general and valuations for companies like lucid and things like that so Still pre staggeringly high number for a company with you. Know no revenue at this point Obviously a big backlog of orders but comes down if they can produce and deliver thousand Continue growing over time. So we'll see. I probably wouldn't be in at the evaluation. You know who knows things could change. But i would rather rather have my money in tusla. Seven hundred billion or whatever than a ravine at eighty right next appear so just a quick update on waymo I think it was reported. Originally by reuters. Abut waymo will stop selling itself driving lighter sensors to other companies so originally waymo had had the thought of okay. We can lower the cost of producing light lighter if we're able to leverage our production and sell that to other companies They went down that path a couple years back and already now. They're they're changing course. Obviously there have been changes in management at way also not necessarily super surprising to see a change in course but Yeah i mean alana side. You know eventually. All these companies are going to drop lighter. And that's not what this is very specifically that's not this but Maybe just a slight step in that direction obviously ladder has other cases. Uses south's not. I wouldn't make an overarching blake and statement that but interesting to see Nonetheless so i think those were the main things here And then as i said the opening so actually a week a week passed this but last week august twentieth daily turned four years old so four year anniversary of the first dessel daily podcast. I feel like someday we should just sit down and do a livestream and listen to all that first episode together it's changed a lot But hopefully the original premise of just trying to get more good information out to more people has stayed the same. That's really been my guiding principle since the start So i started four years ago. Two years ago took a fulltime with just the help of you know tremendous listeners Supporting unpatriotic and Sharing content things like that. I'm just so lucky. To have the audience that i have here. That has enabled that. And as i've always said you know. I'm trying to use this as a base to build something more I love doing tesla daily. But at the same time like i don't wanna just necessarily sit here in and create youtube videos every single day for for the rest of forever and hopefully you guys want me to do more than that do so Yeah this is just the original post..

"To the universe and elevated connections who source Maybe maybe they were as we're all talking about connected more to their heart than to their head but the distance matters mystics have a different space in my mind. Then the idea of just some do author writing some books telling me this is how this is how my relationship with god should be me in. Because i think that's another. It's another big thing that we were tasked with when we look at traditional church when we look at the traditional church. We're looking at people who are delivering. Oftentimes all the time. We're looking at people who may be delivering the message without the transference of feeling without the transference of the knob the actual knowledge i mean i can read to you any number of books in any number of ways on having to do something but that doesn't mean that how to do it. I can translated into another story where i think it makes sense and i can make the connection of mean translated it correctly that means and maybe how to grow an audience. Maybe translated some things pretty well with. That doesn't mean that. I've connected with it. It doesn't mean. I am fully immersed in the mysticism of it. The i am under an enchantment if you will Underneath a magic spell of what these guys were under in and girls when they were writing this material also the people who are spreading the message. Can't they may not understand. They may not understand that. And i think that when people look at the whole idea I forget which emperor puts a pick the sixty six books What about all the other ones. Why these ones make it in. Why did some others didn't and is there something. We're missing from the books. I'm sure that there are some things that are missing. I'm sure that there are some things that were kept out on purpose because the some of the messaging was too powerful. My guest is also that they didn't understand a lot of what they're putting in there. They didn't understand to the the mystic level allegorical level of what it was that they were putting inside of bible which literally means library. So the that go right. So let's since i the bible. I'm sure there's other bits and pieces in there by now. Constitute a library was larry haas to suffice to say. I wasn't sure if my guest derek was going to resonate. I wasn't sure whether or night he was in the feeling was an this dismissed mystic. No right almost like i was prejudging. in an sensor away i got to the point of even you know before and during the podcast interview of of letting netco and just having fucking conversation without this this this pressure and his need for judgment for my judgment for for what i Fell was Possible pre requisite that. I had the filter to know who beyond the show and to certain extent. I certainly do but i was doing this. what i'm talking about doing it through christian and i was like guys me personally. He's not gonna you know he's speaking about the bible. Does he really have a good connection like saying does he really really guy is he feeling it is e looming and not just preaching and I feel i feel. I feel local little little stain for that just on my own end and his and we're gonna do it anyways no matter where we are always going to be someone that we judged to us a little bit even before them came from where. Oh no you're heard people from their whatever right we're based off where they come from for even meet him. So that's that's what was going through my mind. And what i think. I think the podcasts actually cannot really well i think I think the conversation was was pretty good. I feel like he's really in touch with you. Know who it isn't believes in what is sharing and less important thing is is staring an authentic message from police that you believe in your heart and i feel like that's what he did. What else can you ask somebody to do. What else does somebody need to do. In order to prove that they're worthy of a good conversation right. I think that that's where a place that we get to in our lives Oftentimes somebody that wants to share. And we've got all this call his pre requisites that need to. We need to have before before. We'll talk with them before. Listened to them before. We'll just see some space for them..

"You realize it wasn't like they went into the first practice and said let's make sure we keep them under this. It was he had the first practice and then they go. Oh my gosh. She had this much work now. Let's limit him by whatever. Autistic was yeah. It seemed like they woofs. It was a reaction and he was so upset that he wasn't getting more playing time. And here you are with clearly an injury. That's probably the result of like a long hiatus and being out there on the field is disappointing. There's too many question marks for me. Right now I guess jason's riding me. There's always a point in which you may be make the investment. But let's if i see you and you have back down at ten. Was that a result of the no he was. He's been there the whole time for you. Just like other quarterbacks better okay. I have not adjusted him since the injury housing. So you guys have met six eight all of us behind. Adp because you do have to spend a fifth round. Pick on them right now and whether or not. This injury to his shoulder existed. There was still coming back from a severe ankle injury. How mobile will he be. How much of the rushing like. He's always been good for a handful rushing touchdowns there were some question marks there and there were other players that i just like more. Yeah i mean if it wasn't for the shoulder injury for me. This is the quarterback to two years ago and he was all. He was basically the quarterback one last year before the injury. Different two years ago jason. Sure or he didn't have cd liam two years ago. the the wide receiver core the offense. The defense is a good point. I mean i. I really really liked tack. My big worry is just the shoulder if he drops to where. I think it's a good enough value. I'll take the shot that he's healthy. Is it unfair to call them a defense like is that like the cowboys right rule. They have to okay. Let me okay. Less sorry cowboys. Fans dak drops to the eighth round. He in your bought. The news is coming out. Well we don't think dak is gonna play week one. Yeah i mean. We're not sure if he's gonna play week to his dak. The that level of quarterback you're willing to take him and then just stream those first couple of weeks ago because there's there's other options the the next two guys were talking about are just as good and then injured but they won't be there in the eighth round. One of them will okay fair. Justin herbert is getting a lot of respect in the fantasy. Football world right now quarterback six off the board you to have the biggest disparity. He's our ninth by consensus. I been eight but jason. You're at six mike. You're at twelve. We already know mike. Williams won't be available to him for most of the year based on history now. But why don't you guys discuss briefly why you have him where you do because obviously i think we all. i think. we're all amazed at the talent. The pure talent of justin herbert and what he did in his rookie season. But why the disparity between you two. Oh yeah. I mean it's really a matter of projection is rookie. We've seen a small sample and you've just gotta decide. What is the offense going to be like. What is the team going to be like. It's a new head coach New coordinator when. I look at it the more that i've thought in fact. This is a recent change. I've moved him up recently because he was more in line with your ranking indian and just watching remembering how good he was realizing that this is an improved offensive line a second year with these players. I just think he takes a step forward. And i'm this is a bet on talent. What we saw last year was unbelievably great. It was you know the best rookie season as a pure passer that i can ever remember seeing Unless you are kind of counting the sophomore pat mahomes first year playing But that wasn't very use the second year so you know. I'm hoping that he takes that. Huge jump forward I think he's got enough weapons on the offense assuming mike williams is actually playing football. Keenan austin heckler and the offensive line. I i just really like everything. I'm seeing out of camping. I'm betting on the talent and for me. It's since the year two thousand. We've seen fifteen rookie quarterback's average over thirteen fantasy points in ten starts cam. Newton griffin russ. Jamie's mario dak baker like high level quarterbacks antenna the fifteen regressed in points per game. I like i like herbert. I really do like the future for him. But for fantasy purposes i mean. It's not that i dislike him. It's the i like other guys more. He shouldn't have to shoulder quite as much of the load. If us netco can stay healthy and be on the field and he can hand the ball off to somebody. That's not came and blige. Well he needs to hate it off just in a forward motion just a slight wall. Let's call that pass now to be fair To to to everything we're talking about here. Justin herbert's going in the fifth round. And even though i am clear the highest here and i am betting on talent with the ranking. i'm not drafting justin herbert. He isn't like in the fifth round. I'm hoping tyler gets there. He's my number one quarterback good right through difference maker. I think herber is going to have a good season and going to be a really solid fantasy asa pricey but too pricey because this next guy you know. I've been leaving every draft. One of three quarterbacks do their cuyler. Tom brady or ryan and hannah hill. Yeah number ten on our last nine for me. Eleven for mike. Eleven jason twelfth by adp. And you have you have ended up with ryan tannehill and a ton of drafts..

Otherwise that same guy. You're celebrating giving us two hundred seven million to the same god is going to say. Get the hell out outta here before long if you don't show him you're ready to change things around and get him some help. Yeah you're so right. I mean we used to say oh. They locked him down. You don't really actually locked anyone down anymore. Because there is such fluidity and players feel empowered to take control of their own destiny. I think it's gonna be fascinating. We saw new gm nico harrison over in slovenia to build that relationship to actually sign the piece of paper. We saw dirk nowitzki in that contingent in slovenia. I love the image of walking the streets there and on the people coming up to him but i do think those ties are gonna matter because luca allies dirk let me say this real quick netco harris coming over from nike. He's well connected one you know. He's got incredible relationships. The pressure might be on him to build a roster. But when we're talking about a bona fide skoll joining luca danni chick make no mistake about it. That's about mark cuban. You're the name your the face you know. You don't get to pass that responsibility as i say marks doing that. But you don't get pass that over the niko you've got to do it more. Cubans name cash. Shay has to come in handy. In that regard i mean. Could we look at this situation for us. Looking at the milwaukee bucks when you look at is and the journey that he has to go through. Nine ole jahn. This was the fifteenth pick and local was alive higher but only twenty. Two years of agent took what john is eight or nine years to. He finally recess stage of winning the nba championship and winning finals in vp. Took him six years to actually host up the trophy. Winning the war along with the defensive player of the year was so what i'm saying is is. They still have a lot of time. So when i said is this because it is stephen. A he's not a guy that scratching the surface not even scratching the surface of his prime yet. So we still have a lot of years to me if the dallas mavericks continue to regret to progress meaning if they get out of the first round this upcoming season and then go on to the western conference finals now starting to look more like by candy. And you try more free. First of all first of all nagin out first. Let's call it. What this as president destruct. They get out. I felt but you know what i'm saying. We you know. It's like a soap opera. That's the beauty of being soap-opera guy. Because guess what i get to sorta tell the story is being told you see i must ask what was going on right now and you shot their first round rachel presently constructed with all of those teams in the west number one number two. Let's not forget what we've all had to report about luca. We all fans a luca. We like them a lot. They talk about him. Being temperamental primarily with the official. Choose but the coach is gone. The general managers going. There's a new.

We also recognize that. There's a huge need in our own backyard in york city alone It's the country's largest public school system. There are one point one million public school students. We estimate that there are two hundred thousand kids who need glasses. That don't have access to them in. It's primarily students in low income areas in in many of those students don't know that they have a vision needs Some of them just disengaging school summer misdiagnosed with special needs And so In two thousand fifteen. We kicked a program called people's project along with the mayor's office in new york where we would go into Schools around at the new york area provide free vision tests at free eye exams and then offer africa's to any student who needs them. And i we sense. Expanded that program To a few other cities. Baltimore philadelphia in boston and Netco was a great partner When we piloted that program in boston just before the pandemic It was very successful but Of course the pandemic through a ball in everyone's plans including Our plan to to scale this program In the city of boston in a number of other areas but we are excited For this Next coming school year To be able to re-engage with students and provide a lot more glasses to you need them awesome awesome in. You've teamed up with some big names for this project as well right yeah absolutely No we work with You know in boston in particular Regret the boston public school system. Twenty twenty on-site netco and prevent blindness to provide students in a number of schools. I with free eye exams and provide free glasses.

"Angry was enjoying good sleep. We say anything about being with anyone else. He just he. This is not something you're supposed to do. You're the king and you know this you pass this. You can't do this. And so god's really ticked off because god told you not to do this. And so and so it is not his. It is not a soul separated from the body that goes back. Samuel actually comes back in bodily form fully clothed as an old man and and there's nothing to indicate that he's been either in a place of torment or in a place of reward and so hebrew bible scholars. Don't look on this as an instance of which somebody you know showing that when you die your soul goes one place or another. It's the only place by the way. We're in the hebrew bible where that kind of neck romance is performed but we do know that Some a lot of israelites thought it could be performed. Because they're all these laws against the by a budget laws doing something and so they at least think are seances going on. Something's happening but you know what it was. They were thinking is to know. This is kind of attention but that does make me wonder about this. So it's it's example of this belief in the persecution of witchcraft or or necker. Nancy why do you think it is that monotheistic religions like judaism christianity would have been so opposed to people independently practicing magic or consulting the dead. In fact i believe Correct me if i'm wrong but this is also sort of one of the horrors of the book of i knock right where these evil heavenly creatures. Come down and they teach human women how to do. Magic spells is that right. Yeah they don't mention netco massey there but they do. They do teach humans all sorts of practical things that god does a like. and so. that's that's kind of what's going on with his neck romance thing when you raising somebody. Up in a seance or or however you doing it through magical rites the ancient thought. Was that this person. It's it's not that the person's soul is living on the person's temporarily come back to life again there. Solis come back into the body and because they have died and they'd come back from the dead. They have these kind of powers ad in monotheistic religion. There's only supposed to be one superhuman power. And as god and so these other powers are threatening and people usually turned to Necker massey and other forms of magic precisely because the established religion wasn't working too well for them and so they were. They weren't learning what they need to learn. They weren't getting what they needed to get. They weren't you know. And they try and alternative. Means and in these monotheistic religions. God is a jealous god and he doesn't like it when you go to some other divine force and so that's why it's like a form of cheating almost was a form of cheating. It's like you know you go to your you. Go to your priest for advice and then you go home and get your ouija board. I mean look right. Just said don't bother. Where'd you do. People usually boards anyway. What i was a kid we used. We always great. Okay okay. so that's the view of of the ancient jews. They would of mostly believe. And of course we should acknowledge that whenever we're talking about Views describing them to groups of people. There was probably some diversity but we're talking about like the dominant views that are represented in the record right. Well it's it's a very important point because in my book i tried to show. There are in fact. Different views and hebrew bible itself. I mean you mentioned ecclesiastes and the book of daniel has a very different kind of you and so there are varieties the one variety you don't find in the hebrew bible is you die in your soul those having her house right so then what about the to turn away from ancient judaism. What about the influence of greek philosophy in like the ideas of socrates and plato and how those came through in the pagan beliefs of the roman empire. Yeah it's very important Far more important than most people realize in the earliest greek records we have they come our earliest records come from homer from the iliad and the odyssey and the earliest four hundred dante in the western tradition so gilda mashes in the ancient but in the western tradition the earliest four dante is a homer odyssey the odyssey book eleven is this going into the underworld and visiting people there including his mother and his former colleagues in the in the trojan war and and he needs all these people and the point of this description to show what is like down there and it's not good. It's not good for everybody because everybody is just down there the same. They've got their their shadows. They're called shadows. They're not even people anymore but they kind of shadows people and they've got no strength and no power no mind you can't think they can't remember. It's they can't talk it's like they. Just it's awful forever by the time you get to plato about four hundred years later so plato's riding the early fourth century bc. So you know four hundred years before. Jesus ministry plato. By the time of plato greeks. It started thinking that this idea that like everybody goes to hades and it's the same and it's boring for eternity and there's no that's not right. I mean how can you mean that somebody who is a valiant warrior who is upright and you always does the good thing and helps other people he dies and like that's it. He doesn't get anywhere award. And there's some schmuck over here like this tyrant who oppresses people just cares about his own self getting massively rich and powerful and doesn't care who he hurts the process. He dies in the punish. No that can't be how it is as greeks came up with this idea that in fact after death there rewards and punishments. We don't know of other people at the same time came up with this idea. But we find that. Most firmly in the greeks especially plato who devoted a lot of time in his dialogue in his surviving dialogues to show that the soul and the body are two different things and that the mistake people make in life is catering to their body when the important thing is their soul and so plato was pushing for philosophy. The love of nod as what philosophy Means the love of wisdom because he thought we needed attend to the needs of our inner selves especially our minds and our our mental states and our values and our views of what's right and wrong and our ethics and how live and those are the things we should be concerned about not like getting drunk all the time and having parties and having sex randomly like players. They know that is catering to your body. And the problem is if you if you giving your body's pleasures then you're gonna not pay any attention to your soul and when you die your soul is going to live on your body's going to die and so you need to make sure your souls doing well when it dies or it's going to be bad news. And so plato. Plato tells these myths of the after. He calls the myths he. I don't think he means i'm literally. But he he tells these kind of stories of people who die and they check out what it's like afterwards and those who tend to their soul have very good after lives and those who are just licentious torrential bastards. They're tortured forever. And so you get rewards and punishments. And so plato. Plato popularizes idea. It's not clear he invented it but it's found in a number of places in his dialogues especially Say in in The fado and in the republic and ended up becoming a hugely significant understanding things for the history of the.

Deep yanks beat the twins nine to six garrett cole. Six innings cheer on ball nine strikeouts. No funny business with josh donaldson. He just went right after him. Struck out twice. That's kind of the best way to get back at a guy. Did ask him if there would be anything moving forward. You know kind of done with it if he wants to reach out. That's fine so ready to move on from all this talk. He stuff as far as last night. When obviously press conferences a little dicey but He should've just be so he admitted to it at that point with the what he said. But after all that. I mean last night could not have gone better for garrett cole. It was the absolute perfect response to everything that happened the day before also perfect night. Pretty much for the mets in baltimore is they. Hit a million home runs kevin. Pilar and billy mckinney went deep twice a piece. Pete alonso mason williams as well and a fourteen one pounding of matt harvey and the orioles taiwan walker seven hundred and one ball nine strike outs as he continues to throw good baseball for the mets. They are off today at the padres. Coming in you'll have degrom and snell in the opener tomorrow night. You do have the yankees twins finale. This evening we get pre game on the fan. Seven thirty on the fm. Dial to be michael king and j hap and then you got the nets and the bucks game three from milwaukee on the i'm sorry. Fm for the nets am for the yankees. Any update whatsoever. I know hardens. Not playing this game. And i know bruce brown's not playing in this game but any update on hardens downturn prospects. I have not heard a thing just that. He's obviously officially ruled out for this game so the box are favorite as far as betting lines go. The nets are plus one ten to win the championship right now. Which is a ridiculously low number. And kevin durant is six to five to win the nba finals mvp. So it just shows you where they thinks that this is going to go so keep an eye out. Would it be like out of the west due utah. It's tough for if i'm if i'm a player and i say why do this and i do this well and i do this. And that's all gets focus on so from your perspective with that like and what what do you what do you think that people are missing. I first of all. I know that i'm hated in a lame in one for debts in i agree with everything they said but i wouldn't change anything about me good. That's what made me this far. That's what made me you know. And obviously i can do many good things but one thing. They are going to talk about me. It's the way i am on the field. And i'm not a good guy and this and that on the field i'm hate it and i think by. Mls in general by journalists mls. Desk the only thing they see you know most of them are emotional when they talk about me in the sense that in the just looked far my were side of it. They don't know me who. I am on the locking with my teammates. The way i am every single day what. I what i represent for my demands in how what a few fuel them you know and for many as is being like that and i'm sure that many going to say in going to be happy what happens with me last year with manager going to say it's fair and you know like because of how it be al-jeraisy years but you know i don't care i don't care little don't care And i continue to be the way i am. And i won't be afraid one beats all other in other words would be is in more intense and more in a way. That's gonna get everything everyday. I think that's i think that's a great answer to and also obviously i know for this fan base. You're you're seeing that way until you get here. And i feel like you also won't have wouldn't have the career you've had unless that unless you have the support of your teammates right so a bad guy doesn't have his teammates like him so clearly. It's just the way that you are on the field. I think. I think i think the head like that's how you are in the field is how you got there and everybody that watches you that. You're doing it for them for their team appreciates that skill set and that intensity as long as when i'm on the field i in my teammates know that those are matter what happened. I will be there for them and doesn't matter anytime on the field they can count on me and i'm going to be there for them. I'm happy when i go home. You know and they can be at their home in needing me at three. Am be there for you. Know when they're said nobody's seen by them there for them. You know when. Gaming Ride Home
EVO 2020 was cancelled
"Yvo Twenty twenty has been canceled due to various sexual abuse allegations. Yvo Is the biggest annual fighting game tournament in the world, and even with the covid nineteen issues plaguing everyone on the planet. The tournament was soldiering on with plans to make it fully online. Earlier this week, however that all fell apart, and in order to learn more about it, I called on Imran Khan to explain everything Imron. Come into the gaming ride home show again for having me Yvo was canceled. And I just want you to give me the full story. What happened? Why was it canceled? Everything start from the beginning, so ego is the biggest fighting tournament in America Kinda the biggest in the world. There's like some discussion about that at this point, but ego is basically where fighting games have been aspiring to for the last twenty thirty years and listening started in the ninety S. This year, obviously because of covid kit have their usual Mandalay Bay Las Vegas big gathering of fighting game players. So this year they ended up canceling I place. Eve Online Eve online was a different thing where the. Mainly, got games together with like Netco like mortal Kombat eleven and them fighting her indie game that was originally based on my little pony, but basically it was A. It has to evolve brand that could stay around despite not being the big mass gathering tournament that they expect over the last couple of weeks. There's been a bigger. industry-wide movement to out sexual predators in gaming and the gaming industry, and some companies have been hit harder than that are with that bubis off for example, but for the most part it's. It's not a huge thing within the FTC. Because the FTC's always kind of had a reputation of like. Being a bit more open with their sexual harassment and it's always like. It's never been to a level of. A mass critical mass. Joey quilter this past week yesterday in for yesterday in fact was outed by a player. Named He's just does mikey. He goes online and is after the tag is crack. Peron but George Taylor. Who is the head of the current? President Vivo who founded it with Tommy Tony Kanaan. was outed for experiences when he was. Close, to twenty, where they were southern golf land, which is an amusement park in l. a.. That mikey accused him of basically. Paying money to young kids to take their shirts. Germany polls mikey related experience where he said quarter. Paid him twenty dollars to see his genitals inside a restroom and bought him pornography so. It's IT'S A. It's a larger thing that when you look at it from the perspective of not a child who just thinks they're having fun. It's real creepy, but what is conditions came out. Other people's Front, also coming out of the woodwork, saying like more finding old chaser people were talking about doing these things, but not naming names, and now that it's out. The floodgates are broken out. Yvonne immediately went. No, WE'RE GONNA put on administrative leave and check this out, so I mentioned Tom. Tony Kennedy before their more famous like they are obviously co-founders of ego, but there are more famous right now for being developers of Product L. at riot games so. They had to step in for this and go okay. We're looking at this right now. We're investigating and seeing what happens. It did not take very long before nether realm. I believe the first one like say. Are Involved with ego involvement in that sense means we don't WanNA game there. We're not going to earn any money towards prize pools. We're not doing any advertising which is fairly big deal. Arguably moral combat was like the lead game for that tournament. Right for the online tournament. Yes, Merle come at usually has a hard time with like the in person tournament. Fighting community hasn't really take to that game too well, but as an online net code game like for example, smash brothers was canceled for Eve online because the net code. Isn't that good, so this is more time to shine. The actual like really arguably was streetfighter as it is every year. This year. Are Not meeting her, but a little bit. After another canceled COP CANCELED IN ONCE CAPCOM cancels gets away from ego. Then that's that's the ballgame lets. Everything goes away soon after main sex developers of them biting heard who this is their big chance to become A. Kind of a household name and if I didn't need community, they cancelled. Bay Namco canceled and ran into that ego are the canons came out with a message from as ego saying? Hey, we were cutting for joy color. He is not president anymore. In the future, he will have zero involvement with the organization this not he's going to not be on. He's going to be on the board, or he'll be the FCC or he'll still kind of tournaments. They're cutting it off completely. Shortly after that they also that announced, we can't under these circumstances and this change in organization also do evil online in a couple of weeks in August. A month or in August? I. Know that screws over a lot of people, but. It seems like honestly the best. Call right now of. You'RE GONNA have to go through with work. That joy has done or you're going to have to. Try It's from scratch. Cobble together in event that takes at least a year to actually set up and try to get together in a couple of weeks. Yeah, I mean they just they basically. Got Rid of the boss in the most public way, possible right I mean it's it's you can't just like recover from that in a matter of weeks. Really Yeah, it's. It is one of those things of a lot of this is. Probably high time for the funding community insert reckoning with a lot of these things, because it's an issue for a number of years, it was I. I don't know if you recall but a about eight years ago, there was a street fight across capcom across Tekken. Show online, and it ended up ending as a result of some sexual harassment claims, and those a big divide in the community about like whether sexual harassment was a just a part of the culture or not and. Stuff like this doesn't help that argument. No I mean I like you, said earlier I mean like. Feels like the right call to elevate it, and as disappointing as it is for Yvo to be cancelled like it's a big flag for like we need to address. This is if we're going to cancel this event because we need to look at ourselves internally and I think I. Mean Hope the hope is that they come out better on the other side. I mean it seems like this is one of those things where. I. Hesitate to say Covid kind of save them but. If. This were an actual in person things still at Mandalay Bay then they wouldn't be able to cancer that quickly an online tournament. Shuttered a lot more easily. The bigger question now is what happens next year.

I went to this call mcgarth also kinda stopped on down there. So what was when you signed up for this tournament? And I hate to to use the word easy, but it does feel like it has been relatively easy for you. Did you think it would go this way like that it would be such a walk in the park for you?
