"So it's been a week since UConn won the 2023 NCAA tournament. Congrats again to Dan Hurley in the huskies. Over the past 7 days, the transfer portal has been busy. And we got a couple of big commitments over the weekend, specifically former Baylor guard LJ crier committed to Houston and former Houston guard from Mark, committed to Arkansas, these developments compelled me to move both of those programs into the top 15 of the top 25 and one. Yes, we are now on version 3.0 of the top 25 and one. Houston now up to number 12. Arkansas now up to number 14. Dead leg. How successful have you been at keeping track where folks are going to be playing next season? Are you aware that among other transfer news at West Virginia, a spa? What does that Penn State? Caleb love is at Michigan. Sky Clark's at Louisville. Denver Jones is at auburn, Caleb mills is going to be a Memphis Tiger and jameer Nelson junior is at TCU. Did you know all of those things? I knew everyone except I miss jameer going to TCU. How did we go? Because that's the one I missed too. I missed that one. I don't know when that happened to you. Tell me it happened this morning or it happened in the middle of the national title game, I believe you. Yeah, I was going through them earlier and I was like, oh, I missed jameer Nelson junior to tease you completely. Like I had not heard that at all. So anyway, congratulations to jamir Nelson junior and his famous father, Jimmy Nelson, who worked with CBS Sports Network. It became a real friend of mine. He's an awesome guy. Awesome, awesome guys. I'm happy for that family. What other ones we got here? And I do want to focus on a couple ones. All right, so let's start with the national champs. Klingon is back, all right? Hawkins has gone as expected. We are waiting on Andre Jackson and Adama suno. Now, I said on the podcast title game recap one, you put Yukon number one with the idea that only Hawkins would leave. I said, I'll play the odds and I'll say one of them will go. I think your words were where are they going? Well, I just will have to wait and see on that. Clinging his back, his return is huge. Now, a Luke Murray who I talked to for a story on Sunoco and klingon after I talked to him before the final four, but we ran the story after they won the national semi and it was maybe right before it, honestly, it's all blending together. Regardless, Luke was like, you should ask klingon on the record if he's coming back as we think he's going to come back. I wound up not crossing past with Donovan before all that stuff, but they believed he would return. He indeed did return now. Our buddy Sam pessini, who will try and squeeze him in on this episode before we get to the other can't promise it. I know Sam, you're waiting, but we'll see vessi. And I talked to him about this at the final four, it was great to see Sam down there in Houston before he scooted back out to Portland for hoop summit. He was strongly of the belief that clan would have gone in the first round. So we have a case here. In his opinion, not universal but in Sam's opinion and Sam is super smart and follows this stuff as well as literally anyone. That klingon would have gone in the first round. He's got there's too much there. And too much temptation. So we have a case here where a potential first round pick has actually bypassed that to return to college. We'll wait on Jackson and sanogo. Elijah Martin is also going to test the water for FAU. That's another final four team player related thing. He will return to FAU if he doesn't get drafted. I would expect him to return Janelle Davis's teammate might wind up doing the same thing there. Any thoughts on Yukon before I run down the rest of these lists and we really dig into a few other players. There's been some transfer whispers about sanogo as well. Have you heard that? No, but that would be certainly interesting. I mean, I just can't imagine it actually happened because they literally let him start to shoot three pointers and he did it well. He was coming off an all time an all time awesome tournament performance. So I'd be shocked. But some people put that in my ears over the past week or so. Like, it might not be sono to the NBA. It could be Sunoco to the transfer portal. I wouldn't rule anything out. It just, it does on a surface level. It makes no sense whatsoever. You just want a championship at UConn. You're probably going to be a preseason all American. You are the most outstanding player of the final four. You have a real legacy now connected to you at UConn. I don't know that you blow that up. And if it comes down to name images like this stuff, I recognize him being an international player complicates that. But it doesn't make it impossible. With Andre Jackson, listen, I said from the jump, they can both test the waters if they want to. Obviously they can remain in the NBA draft if they want to, but I don't think either is a first round draft pick. And I think there's a world where

Now, Chattanooga's been a really good team for most of the season. It was the best team in the so con. We've actually had a lot of really good mid major championship games since we started this whole deal on Saturday night with Murray state beaten morehead state. You know, we're approaching a dozen bids automatic bids that have been handed out. We have one more on Wednesday night and oh, by the way, navy will play Colgate in a one versus two patriot league matchup on CBS Sports Network. I actually wish that these leads can figure this out better. There's one automatic bid tonight and like the big conference tournaments are starting and they're fine. We got a couple of teams that we're going to talk about that are in bubble spots. You're playing Wednesday. There are 15 automatic bits you can hand out on Saturday. Why not just spread it out? I totally get it Thursday and Friday. You have so many really good big conference games. If there's no auto bids on Thursday Friday GP, I'm totally good with that. But can we squeeze in like two more on a Wednesday night? Because you just have this cram and I don't know, I feel like if you're a mid major conference, you get a little bit just a little bit more lost in the shuffle on a Saturday than you would if you were say playing your championship game tonight, but otherwise it's been it's been phenomenal and congrats to Chattanooga for firm and that's completely heartbreaking. Just so eviscerating stuff to lose the way you lost because that three pointer was like 15% at best kind of shot that gene pappy's hit and we will see Lamont Paris mocks in the turning next week. I bet you it's less than 15%. It might be because the way that they brought that up again, no time out, amazing. That's why the don't advance the ball on a timeout is amazing college basketball for exact plays like that. I'm with you on these one bit leagues, they should be, if possible, on Monday night Tuesday night Wednesday night. Because by the time we get to Thursday, we are engulfed in power conference stuff. There's bubble games in the quarterfinals of some power conference tournament. And you get, once we get to Thursday, we're not paying attention to this stuff anymore. But on Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, these one bit leagues are amazing. And they get more attention. How many people know Peter kiss today that didn't know Peter kiss yesterday? It's literally in the hundreds of thousands. If not more, because of what happened there. Because of what happened. I mean, do you want to just push off the Gonzaga stuff and talk major till we get palm here 'cause I'm you know I'm game. Yeah, what is it to say about Gonzaga? They're also beginning they're the number one overall seed and they're the betting favorite to win the national. I don't want to ask Paul when he comes on. If Baylor wins the big 12 tournament with more quads, it could possibly maybe be the number one overall seat. I'm not convinced Gonzaga absolutely 100% has it. Last palm that in a few minutes here, you're right about Bryant, I want to talk about Brian talked about bellarmine. Okay, first of all, Peter kiss, yes. He is your exact kind of player. He's the nation's leading score and has his name is Peter kiss. Dude, dude makes Kurt krissa look like a humble choir boy, okay? He can not get enough of himself. Peter kiss loves him, Peter kiss. "Let's start the show. All right, so tell us who you are and what you do. Hello. I'm oliveri Nelson junior. I'm a studio director at strange scaffold, a frequent writer narrative designer collaborator working on dozens of things I've worked in over 60 games in the past 5 years and now my current mission is not just finding new and exciting ways to collaborate with people in my own studio and at the studios and projects of others, but also finding ways to advocate for making games better, faster, cheaper and healthier than they are currently assumed to be made. How has 2021 been for you? Have you learned anything about yourself over the past year? I think one of the primary things I learned over the past year is just how much I cared about production, I do love telling stories. I do love putting things into a video game. I love creative content production. Writing a killer page or scene is a thrilling experience. But when I look at the things that consistently get me out of bed in the morning that may be passionate about waking up and getting to work and collaborating with other people. Getting into the nitty Gritty of how something comes together, the scope of a project, defining, reducing and defining that vision of a project and how it's accomplished and very calculated ways. The exercise of finding new and interesting formats in arrangements for artists coming together to build things together. That makes me feel alive. And so exploring those paths myself sharing what I find along the way and as much as I can opening those doors for others is something that I've discovered. He'll be a foul trouble to get his rest knowing that he got to go third and fourth quarter against a guy like carmelo. You know it's interesting so same same with janas. Who's not the shooter. He's not the offensive player initially dirk was but he's he's a bigger stronger bodies. Better defensive player. And i said this morning you can make an argument if he wins tomorrow night in three years. He's been an mvp twice a defensive player of the year in the finals. Mvp tomorrow night. Could i make the argument by tomorrow night. He's the he's the face of the nba janas. Let's go be tough to calm the face of the nba in milwaukee respect to the mid west air. But it's just it's really hard to get him on every single channel and on the pictures. I mean the bron still going to be that guy out there. Even though at the age of the high thirties for him. I think it's a progression period. And i love the fact that he's not willing to leave to go. Get a bigger sneaker deal or be on camera all the time or or being seen walking red carpets. And all that stuff. It's just a hard working guy and a lot of people really don't understand The reasons of why he's wanna stay. I think he's got a great deal. With with milwaukee great relationship. I you know he's playing with his brother. Who doesn't wanna you know have be able to play with your your brother on the same team. That's a bonus right there. you know. Rather he's capable of being in league or not. It has nothing to do with it. That's just that familiar face. And he's got a great team building around him. I don't think the prediction of being a jaanus being as big as he is now when they first rapid guy they really got thought they had somebody young and athletic and really great work ethic. But i think at progression the way he has put himself on up. Ashland being a mvp being so humble Putting this team on his back when they need him Being a two way player people get that about this guy. he's a great defender and now he's adding another dimension to his game. Which is all kinds of passing. Yeah no there's no question. He can tell his work ethic. You can see it every year. You know lebron's credit. Lebron kept getting better every year. He came in. He wasn't very good defensively then he developed a three point shot that he had a back to the basket. Low post game that was exposed against dallas in the finals. It is interesting you played in this league longtime in. You're a big body you. You're a big slender body in college. I watched you play live against. Unlv you are slender body. You got bigger and stronger because you're you're an nba nutrition nba weight rooms for eight or nine years and i watched this series. Phoenix looks so small. They're all these young guys. I feel bad for de'andre eight and go back to your career. Cedric the rafts. Swallow the whistles in conference finals and finals players to win it. I think that has been a huge bonus for milwaukee in this finals. Yeah those bulletin days a good thing that nca change the rules. Because i was starving. Most had no money to buy myself food. But then but i think it does help a physical team like milwaukee talked earlier to you about losing a big man when a when they went down with the injury. This is huge. Because he was open and honest about it but apparently him talking about some of these. Small crypto products. These defy tokens that he's funding. Caused this one defy token to go to sixty dollars a token which was like two billion dollars in value from nothing. He was like the guy who he basically funded this thing. It was just him. He's doing some weird paris trade. I still don't quite get this. It works but it went from like five dollars to sixty in a week and then from sixty two zero in about a day so mark. Cuban basically got rex bloomberg did a series of articles on this cuban wrote into kind of defend himself or ask for more regulation here. I guess there's a few puffs in it's a tough thing. I guess good for him. For being. "So we we actually took a trip With being Myself xavier nelson junior the Narrative director on the game Anthony jones the art director and a few other folks. We were actually invited to go to nepal and sit in with rangers and conservationist doing this work so we definitely got some first hand. Experience learn a lot of kind of unintuitive ideas. That people might not think right away there. I thought might be rangers running around with with guns. Looking for people you know in the bush but It's much more complex than that You know one of the biggest incites. We learned that we touch on early in the game is how important it is to work with the communities that are in and around conservation areas so it becomes a a tricky balance Where perhaps some of those people are. The ones doing the poaching. Yes so they're just a lot of inspiration to take from that and we. We didn't want it to be the sort of one to one representation of real life. We want people to be able to engage with it. And that's why we went with a a sci-fi route to build our own world allows to heightened some of the scenarios and take some of the some of the personalization out of it to kind of get the core messages across and so far You know the early signs say that we've done all right with that awesome. Tell us about some of the characters that are involved in the game. It looks the first who they are and then the design process coming designer. Maisy i'll thanks. Yeah i mean that that one hundred percent comes out of the brain of Anthony jones on. He's kind of a well-known concept artist. And he kind of has always been a big on robots and You know these kind of scifi characters. I think he's moniker. Online is actually robot pencil. So there you go see. I kind of just said you know. Hey i've got this idea. Where do you want to take it. And he just took it in a place that was so cool. We couldn't Go that direction but The actual characters in the game. It's actually an samba cast. So yeah You know the game is about billing multiple squads. You've got seventy one hundred characters in your caretaker group and it's really about managing each of these individuals taking advantage their strengths and also dealing with perhaps some of their quirks. The main character again. We call the conductor. And they're sort of this shadow leader They always kind of the caretakers have always worked behind the scenes. And now they're kind of thrust into the forefront As their societies help and then along the way we kinda counter Some extra terrestrial friends enemies As well as some of the leaders that are outside the barrier and you kind of have to figure out how to deal with them. Do you make alliances. That sort of thing very cool. You mentioned You mentioned your anthony. Jones and he He came from blizzard. Which is obviously a pretty big gaming company and to have him on staff at. He's on your staff. Is that correct. Well yeah he. We worked together on the project for about two years two years. Yeah great yeah. We've been three years coming so this is has been Quite the project for us. We've been typically smaller games in the past but yeah anthony Zala your and the are wider team..
