"And then even though an Orchard of hybrid chestnuts like this doesn't seem like a step on the way to a forest full of restored American chestnuts, well, it kind of is in a roundabout way. It's about making them familiar again. David told us short some people remember the American chestnut. There are plenty of folks to say, hey, my grandparents added chestnut tray on their farm or whatever and I used to pick them up or we used to throw them at each other or that's something along those lines. But there aren't a lot of these people around. David and Kim thought they would be most of their customers, but frankly, most Americans have forgotten about chestnuts by now. One of the most interesting things about the whole chestnut venture has been, we really didn't know who our customer was going to be. We thought we knew, again, we were wrong. We thought it was going to be, you know, people who were excited about getting chestnuts reintroduced into their diet and palates and kneels and restaurants. We really thought that Sue the customer's going to be. But no, it turns out the average American doesn't know what they're missing. Their grandparents probably their great grandparents at this point, they would have known and loved chestnuts, but these days, you might encounter a chestnut in some Thanksgiving stuffing if at all. It's really the Asian community who are our customers. It really is. It's already part of their palate. It's already part of their culture. Asians and eastern Europeans, David and Kim set up a new pick your own this year and groups drive in from hours away in Philip like 5 gallon buckets with chestnuts, but Kim and David are also trying to win over a new generation of American chestnut lovers. They roast them at farmer's markets and offer tastes and people seem to love them. Kim says people will try one and then buy a pound, and even though they say they've had to educate people who live nearby about how great chestnuts are, they're still plenty of demand. They say they sell out. And so they've convinced friends to start growing chestnut trees too. There are a few Friends of ours while former friends now that we took them to do chestnuts. But yeah, they're a few. There's like 5 or 6 now in Nelson county. But there are still not nearly enough American grown chestnuts that you could find them in the grocery store, or even at restaurants, although it's not that the interest isn't there. Especially restaurants are saying, hey, we would love to incorporate chestnuts into our dishes and whatnot. But I have no labor. You've got to bring me product that's ready to go into the dish where I could just literally slice the bag and drop it in. You can't bring me nuts like this because I don't have people. We don't have time. I know from experience that it does take a bit of time

Hello, thank you very much. A very busy day to be welcome here. We have not only the flood watch, but the national weather service is gestation after this corn prediction center, a severe thunderstorm watch from the blue ridge east. I 81 quarter, you're not in it, but if you are east of the blue ridge, leave a super thunderstorm wash now when that goes until 9 o'clock, the flood watch told ten, so we're talking potentially severe storms that could have wind 60, 65, along with the potential for some very heavy rains. We've seen some plug warnings exactly just north of Lynchburg, albemarle county O Nelson county excuse me, just a little while ago. It's a very hot one too. We've had temperatures 80s to 90 ish and all that heat and humidity will fuel the storms, which will be around through the evening hours. In fact, even after sunset, they may linger a little while, so I don't think the activity will really win until late. Probably toward midnight and then overnight isolated showers and storms may be a patch of fog with Lowe's upper 60s to low 70s. Sunday features an early shower, but then a much nicer afternoon as drier air moves in, highs upper 80s and Independence Day looks great. Sunshine, humidity levels still in check size upper 80s, but fireworks temperatures in the low 80s and it looks rain free. We're looking at 85 in martinsburg 90 in front of each bird and Leesburg as well. Hey, Howard, brought to you by Len the plumber, trusted same day service 7 days a week. Ahead in money news. "I want to hear another story. We're going to if you have time, I got to hear another one of your stories. Oh yeah. Oh, the second one's not as good, but it's unusual. This is rural Alabama when I was back at auburn. We had the suture up a horse that fell through an ice cream truck. What? I guess the folks had an old junkyard and their pasture. And there was an old ice cream truck in there. And this horse had walked into the ice cream truck and fell through the bottom of the ice cream truck, kind of its legs. So we saw that one out there. These things only happen to the south. And by the way, do they not let you in at any place that's even close to city or urban? You apparently have to, you apparently get to go out to the middle of nowhere. Back then we did, 'cause it was pretty rural. And you know, drive too far from lexton, you get pretty rural areas. That's true. That is true. And I enjoy it, you know? Those are my people and I really, you know, I just love talking to people and you know, it's easy for me to explain things to them and talk to them and help them with problems they may have. So I really enjoy it. I think it's a lot of fun. Where are you from? I'm from bardstown, Kentucky, which is about 60 miles west of Lexington, and it's also where my old Kentucky home is. So when you hear my old knuckle home, that's an actual old plantation analysis. Only about two miles from where I grew up. That is, that's rural, my friend. That is. Little place. What used to be a little place is still a pretty little Nelson county, Kentucky, where we make more bourbon than anywhere else in the world. You know where when I lived in Lexington, we used to go out to Washington county and go on trail rides, and man, that's a rural. Well, my dad's my mother's family's from Washington county actually, so that's right. That's good. That's right, next door. Washington. Worsened in county. Now, where did you go? From what county? Yeah, exactly. Worse than the county. Where'd you go to vet school? I went to auburn. Auburn, okay, so I didn't know if you were from you went to university. Georgia too, because where that is, it's very rural and you've got a lot of rural Georgia places to go. Oh my gosh, I know. Well, that's okay, before we let you go, let's wrap up this whole wound care thing. So we get it cleaned off and we decide where it is, we can take a picture of it now and we can send it to our vet. If you can't, you need a younger vet. Because they need to be with the technology to see these things. Anything else in closing that you would like us to know? Well, proud pleasure is the next thing. Once we've got everything under control, it's do we need to prevent there isn't an area that's more likely to get perhaps action. So generally if it's below the knee or blow the hawk where there's really only skin in that area, those are the wounds that are most likely to get proud flash. So once that wound kind of begins to heal, we have to watch for proud flash, which is what we call it is exuberant granulation tissue. That means the blood vessels and the cyber blast grow higher than the wound and the skin margin. And once that happens, the little cells crawl across the top those skin cells, they can't crawl over that. Think of it like a mountain. They can't crawl over the mountain. And so that either needs to be trained on the back, or we can use steroids in our wound ointments and steroids have to inhibit that. Advantages due to some degree too. So if it's below the knee or blow the heart, need to watch for proud flash because it's easier also to head that off than it is to go back and trim that back and sort of start over. Have a good bed for that wound to heal, but watch for proud flesh and lower legs. Now, last I, this whole thing with my thoroughbred that got this cut below the knee. One of the things I was concerned about was the proud flesh and my vent told me a couple different kind of normal household items to use to prevent it. So what do you recommend for proud flesh? I usually just take fear of some ointment. I'll put in some dexamethasone, which is a steroid. And I'll put in some old wound stuff called scarlet or the red stuff that people probably seen in that will help the steroids will help to knock back the proud flash in the scarlet oil helps the epithelialization. You can use meat tenderizer. Yeah, I think that works better. When it's pretty small amounts of proud flash because it has trips in and things like that, but actually our bodies produce to help digest protein. So that's how that works. So that's probably the only other one I've ever used household remedy. Just trim it off the scalpel blade and then start over with the wind. The fact that just throw on me tenderizer on your horse just seems wrong. That sounds like kind of rural Kentucky to me. I actually have heard that one for years and rural Pennsylvania too. I'm sure I'm sure. Well, doctor B is always, we've decided now that we think that you should have your own podcast. Do you know, come on hammer once every, you know, once a week, you do a little 20 minute podcast talking to people. I think that Glenn needs.

"More than three hundred million dollars is now available and rental assistance for renters and landlords. But it's been slow going getting that money out to those who need it the most and nelson county or community later. Say things are moving so slow. It won't make the difference. It was meant to denise. Hardy is with the nonprofit group. Ywca one of the groups working with landlords and tenants to keep people how stand she recently told cross cut. This process didn't have to be so difficult not surprisingly. She blamed the many layers of bureaucracy for the situation. Kyw's katie campbell asked her how people in organizations can get through the red tape and what's at stake if they don't are we going to really be able to prevent eviction and i want to give you an example of that. Were able to pay nine months back and three months ahead if someone is thirteen months behind as still needs to three months here. How's that going to help them. Would that saved them from being evicted. Are we going to be looking at changing some of our rules and reach guards. A how we're going to pay off some of this debt and we all know that disproportionately this more african american families out there and bipasha communities that are affected by this and that we do know that they are the fastest to be evicted. So what is your best advice to those folks because we know this process is slow. It is frustrating. A lot of people. Do you have any tricks of the trade. I guess that could help folks navigate this bureaucratic mess. Yeah you have folks calling all over seattle king county trying figure out kind of where what they land holiday. Get on the liz. They're moving all around trying to find access where we're getting hong up at as within our own system. Our timing is crucial right now. And i think that brings me to this like an adjacent problem. Where in the seattle area rent has been skyrocketing housing prices. Forget it so. I guess how if people even managed to get by as they await this financial help. And what's going to happen when at the end of their leases. There told the rent's going up again. I do think people have tried to get by the way that could get by. You know. I do know that you know even speaking from The african american community. You know we're kind of leaning on each other in terms of support where we can do some bothering or whatever we can do in order to keep our head above water. I've dealt with people that they're babysitting each other's children. One family that i heard of one is working on the morning once worker then night in keeping each other kids will they continue to pay their rats to be able to keep their jobs. Keep feeding their family and continue to try to stay. Closest to pan rent is possible. We already have a homeless crisis. We don't get this right. We haven't seen what we're gonna see. It occurs to me that you're mentioning. You know these community organizations like your own that know what. The problem is on the ground that can reach people more quickly. You're talking about landlords working with you to do what they can and members of the community stepping up to help each other and the community is being relied on. Not not i guess not that. That's bad but what is what is that doing to the communities that you're working with well i just think it's it's hard. We're seeing more mental health. We're seeing more drug addiction. We're seeing things s. Affecting our community in so many different levels and at a higher pace as this whole pandemic has went down. There's a lot of folks that are worried about getting a job that can sustain them. You know there's a lot of mixed emotions about opening our state up so widely There's a lot of uncertainty around wages and what people can afford. I made you know you got a lot of jobs out here. But you know they're not paying anything and so you know. How do you expect people to make it. It almost felt like you were better off being on employment than finding a job here has to be some policies in place in order to give people some time so they're not convicted. Well denise hardy with the ywca thank you so much for taking the time in explaining this to us you're welcome..

"Well no first of all that's stupid analogy but also your no offense not important enough for me to switch it. But if john cale perry said. I'll eat at ks bar every night. If you switch from pepsi to coke switch absolutely though i wouldn't even think about it because it's more important to me for the restaurant that happened that you're making more money off the shoe deal than a kid coming for one year. I understand that. And that's the and that might be why they don't do it. But i would suggest to you that the for both the player and the long-term pr if jalen dern went public and said i'll only go to kentucky if they'll let me wear adidas and they don't will lose that battle because look do you care whether or not a particular player ryan wears. Nike shoes doesn't mean a hilby. The difference we don't care at all shannon. You don't know. I don't care. Nobody cares the only people that care are the people in the budget. Nikes not given up kentucky. Cause a one player right. They're just not right. Nike makes too much money from us and we make too much money from them. So you know what you do you call nike's say i got to let this one do. He's too good. And then they say the nike swoosh on his. You look the uniforms if he came in and said. I wanna wear duke uniform. You don't do that but this shoes are not part of the. They used to be all the players on. The team had to wear the same shoes. We don't do that anymore. We let him wear whatever shoes they want. They just have to wear one brain. But what if you call up nike and they say no has to be nike. What do you do then. Here's the problem. basketball players. Make their most money from shoe deals the way the rules are right now in kentucky and i think they're like this all the time. We are not allowed. The kids are not allowed to sign with nike because the school has nike. And they can't sign with anybody else because it's a conflict. Well that you're just making it can't make money on the thing where they make the most money. That's not fair. just not fair is it. We ask you this. then we're talking about. Is it a scenario where let's just say. He signs with reebok but he has to wear nike during the games. But he keep that he's allowed to do that and i don't think there would be. I don't think it'd be any problem with that. But i think he should be allowed to wear them during the games. Because you know what why does why does davey on mitts or jalen dern in my scenario you're saying to me. I have to wear these nike shoes. You won't let nike pay me and you won't let me wear something else. This is not fair. This is not and then all the money goes to cal. What do you need any more. So i just don't think that's fair so i if i'm jalen during and he may want to wear nike. I don't know what he wants to wear. But there's gonna be a kid. Who makes that there thing and i'll be interested to see what schools schools do about. We'll see if they wanna die on. That's exactly right because you'll lose the puppy battle there you'll lose it thence what's up vince. I would talk what's going on. I was wanting to talk about the kentucky barton festival. I think people in bars san just bela bar open to change The festival for the past two years. It's been losing attendance. And what they're trying to do is compete with like the larger festivals across the country. Especially just right in louisville Right now it's just the first year with like kind of a restructuring but people are losing their minds because they are. Do you live there sir. Yes i do. So i mean you tell me if i'm wrong i i've always heard that it was kind of people. Is that the county festival. Court days is for mount sterling is is the bourbon festival like the event in bardstown. Definitely the biggest one of the year and understand oncoming. Yeah okay so you can understand if it's parts town homecoming and they make an event where most of bardstown can't come. You can understand why that would upset people when you know. I definitely understand. But the thing is they're still events going on all across town and all the cost nelson county. It's just the ticketed car is just for the lawn. Distilleries will be posted with their master. Distiller they'll be having taco classes so they can go to everything else. They just can't go to the bourbon right. A big part of downtown and it's been great for the entire community businesses It's just as far as the festival attractions. there's not gonna be a beer garden and there's not gonna be huge concert like they're always at the lawn like the student so it's basically what you're saying is it'll be great for the rich people and for the rest of the citizens deal with it nah. I don't think it's like that. I think that would be great for the businesses and be great for the steelers but it won't be great for the citizens being great for the small businesses. Rich people that is being simplistic but it'd be great for the businesses and be great for everyone encounter. Be able to get together just at a different location all town instead of just nothing fun is happening. Well listen. I appreciate you making the case thank you. I'm glad you did we ask for somebody to do it. It just i i can understand. I mean you can understand why people are frustrated. Would you definitely can understand the the big thing is. They're mad but they can't bring their kids. But it's it's a festival celebrating bourbon and it's illegal for producers to advertise to kids. That's the big thing that a lot of people are frustrated about. So how did they get around it. For the last fifty years interests was open. They just had different sections like you had to. Have you had to be in a certain like gated area to to have an open container where you had to be twenty one plus now. It's the entire festival twenty one. Plus i said you gotta be got tickets okay. Well and i. I actually understand and i appreciate i understand keeping the kids out more than keeping the citizens out because they want to have it ryan to where the whole town they can carry their bourbon around and not be like putting a cage. Yeah those beer garden cages. They always build up. Well i mean so he. I think he was kind of saying that. They're going to have to separate sections then ideas. That would take my kid to anyway. Like if i'm probably wouldn't either but we don't they. Usually he said a concert. They usually get like a big band or something. Nobody because bill murray sang at it when he did like karaoke. I think didn't he. I think he's saying at the concert to famous video. Where he's saying. Yeah well listen. I mean i guess. Ultimately the free market will decide if it works or not birthrights matt. What did you think of episode. Three of white lotus. Great love the show. Either of you know what what the. What do i find it. Hbo don't have that took the amc stock instead..

Hey i've been meaning to call you There's this project. And i want to three your name in the hat for it. It's about building. The first craft is still rian nelson county. He said. are you interested. I said you know. I always say yes and then try to figure stuff out. You know certainly curious. Yeah you know. Want to do this. And so it seemed like the right project. So i left starlight and oversaw that project and then left there and started my own consulting business after year and had a couple of clients right from the very beginning and then Samson called me. Who bought widow jane they bought few they bought widow jane philadelphia blue coat jen and mess call vago and bran french malt and then since then we bought two kilo ocho but so great portfolio amazing things but when he when robert my boss calls first thing i say is no because ice. I don't wanna leave kentucky. Kids move there. And i will be happy to work out of kentucky. But i'm just not gonna like pick up and move and so i came on as a consultant for a year and then after year. He said you know he called me. You know out here on the sidewalk. And he said. I want you to come on full-time with samson and surrey dismiss your other clients and so i said okay. So is director distilling for all the brands for about six months. And he's i was spending most of my time on this project he's light. He was president at the time. So he's like. I'd like to transfer that title to you and you on full-time with widow jane. So yeah so he's a wild ride bass ride. That's the long boring story. Yeah those along interesting story really. I mean gosh you had your worked with some of the greats. Yeah that's a. That's a great Path to where you are today almost feel like we're connecting the dots to who've we not have on the podcast already that lisa's worked with all right. I was just like it's all these paths are starting to cross. I've been like. I've been really lucky. You know in a couple of times. People approach me about like she should maybe should build a winery or build your own distillery and like you just learnt too much going into other facilities you know and for me. I know i get tunnel vision and be reluctant to leave. The property was on and things like that. So i have a tendency for people to ask me things and me to say yes and then figure it out after i've said yes i don't think it through and then you know always make the most informed decision but it's worked i mean sometimes i've hit you know hit a wall and it's okay because there's so much to do here but yeah i had some. I've had some lucky breaks. You know another question for you is now going from columbus indiana lebanon kentucky into brooklyn new york like talk about the cultural change. That like was it scary for you or you like. Oh i've always wanted to do like a big city thing like kind of talk about that part of your personality But somewhere in the middle. If my children hadn't moved to big cities my oldest daughter after she graduated from purdue move straight thirty six hours started job in chicago right so i watched her maneuver the city and just the wealth of knowledge that she had from the different cultures there and everything and it was so appealing the may assign in going to law school in chicago and same sort of thing. And now he's in dc and then youngest daughter and her husband are living nashville and watching all of my kids. Do all of this right. You know so. I learned enough for my kids to understand that. I could be comfortable living in city right and pre children. I probably wouldn't afraid to do that. But yeah you're like hell. If i raise kids i can do it. Then i can do it yeah mean. They've taught me a lot right here. We are yeah. Talk about your new gig. So what who in. what is widow. jane. Or who's jane who's the the widow. Yeah his the husband. What what was it about this place the you said. Hey i want to go here and and do something. Yeah you know when the same thing when my boss started going because what you have to tell him no right. He calls me again he goes. I'm just gonna fly up to bardstown and take you to dinner. And i just wanna talk to you right. He got my name. Because i'm the consulting distiller for mount vernon for george washington's rye whiskey for five years now in march and so he got my name through that project and some success that we'd had there and so he comes he he's british. He's charming used to run bacardi internationally and he takes me to dinner and ten minutes to donate that. I am going go work for this guy because what he's talking to me about what. The potential is for this job. This is like a once in a lifetime. Opportunity at the time to is kind of like Because i came on as a consultant he could dismiss me or i could dismiss him right. You know so the some not so locked down kind of approach to it. So yes i came out here and there were things i could start doing immediately to improve the situation here and yeah things have just continued to fall into place. They you know the ridgely the ten year old widow. Jane had pretty much difficult following from its first introduction when it was released at seven years old i think and they'd source some remarkable barrels and that was part of the to you enemies telling me what what kind of barrel stock have like. Whoa okay And then they've allowed me to purchase bear you know and so they'd purchase more barrels before i came on the inherited the ones they did with the when they purchase widow jane and they bought some more with with my mentor with them. We had no idea when share. Can i at lunch Because he oversees a couple of projects in bardstown here and there and so he'd called me. We're having lunch and we don't like reveal the see if we're working for people right. You know. Necessarily we'll talk about the project. Maybe but not exactly you know and see if somebody said to hold this confidence Both pretty good about honoring that and and so we're talking about. He's talking about this project and he'd been he'd been out to another state by barrels and he'd been here and and it's like yeah you know and i told him like. Oh yeah this guy called me about this job and then three weeks later fixed up the funniest like we are working for the same person which that's a dream come true right. He's still on the consulting role for for samson in theory so using the wings. If i need them you know and i have. He'll help me work through some situations sometimes and tease about not charging me. Even though i never could pay you back again only pay it forward. Because you've been a lifeline for my entire distilling career but yes oh craziness right you know and here i am. Yeah so there's one thing that we also forgot to mention that while we recording here is that you know you are Mother-in-law to chef newman miller right so he's been on the show is podcast guest back in episode two hundred eight so you are been on top chef even top chef. Yeah so at least during hopefully like thanksgiving he. He treats everybody pretty well when family gets together. We're also newman spoiled all of us. You know it's absolutely spoil all of us you know. He cooks for work. He cooks when he's happy cooks when he's sad. He stressed you've cooked when he's celebrating. You know just it just. It's good to watch my grandsons. Go i don't think i want to eat this like you. No.

"Right. The House article been Peach Mint against former President Trump sent to the Senate today. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the trial itself will begin the Week of February. 8 lot of apparent Republicans. Obviously not happy about that, Aziz we know, but a number growing number of Republican senators say they oppose holding an impeachment trial, including our own Senator, Rand Paul of Kentucky, says That the they should, In fact, not even go there as far as the impeachment process, Senator Paul calling for a boycott. The trump impeachment to trial, according the Courier Journal this morning. Meanwhile, there's been a lot of divisiveness amongst the party. Will. I think that we have been seeing that yesterday I saw Marco Rubio on the Fox News indicating That, hey, doesn't think it's a good idea to do this and warm or apparently, the senators of the Republican Party in the U. S. Senate are not getting behind this. We still don't know what Senator McConnell is going to do, even though he did indicate that he felt the president incited. Said Riot Then we have The Kentucky Republican Party Committee on Saturday, rejecting a resolution urging Senator GOP leader Mitch McConnell according to our wook, why partners so fully support Donald Trump in the ex president's upcoming impeachment trial? The GOP State Central Committee had to meet to consider a proposal after a what's called a grassroots group of Republican officials pushed the resolution and even Willie as I understand. The Republican Party of Ah Nelson County. Chair there. Don Thrasher led the effort. Andre said the chairs who supported will not bring emotion asking for McConnell's resignation. Which was rejected by that said committee So There was something like, I think out of 120 counties 30 of those Republican parties that supported county chair Thrasher's motion that there but they didn't pass the do this, You know, larger committee, the GOP committee. Of such state Central Committee so I mean, I don't know what we're looking at here or not. You've got people that say, Okay, If you don't agree with me, you're not a true Republican or a true conservative And then on the other side, you've got other people who are what they considered themselves as moderate Republicans. Who've been called Rhino's since for the last eight or 10 years, and including sometimes Senator McConnell, Republicans, in name only etcetera, etcetera. This name calling is not gonna help unite this party to come up. Particularly comes to federal elections. I don't think winsome races I don't know. I don't hear any of this going on in Indiana and some other communities, but obviously this has become a big split. In our state? Certainly for Senator McConnell. Not that he won't be able to recover from this. Don't you think that after you want this last election, this is likely going to be Well, you know his, You know his final years in the U. S senate. That's I kind of felt that one going into the election, you know? It's because assuming that he completes this term, not that he's in bad health that we're aware of, But I mean, it's any of us could check out at any moment. That's just part of being human. That would be 42 years in the Senate. And I think for most people 42 years in any job is taxing 42 years in the U. S. Senate is Probably more taxing. Than any of us could ever imagine. So I think he's done. I mean, he's accomplished what he wanted to. He's he's got his legacy and shaping the judiciary with former President Trump he put Hundreds of his judges in tow, assorted federal positions and then the three Supreme Court justices. Uh, He got to be majority leader. I think that I think that if you would have to Mitch McConnell and told him you're done after this when he could live with that. Right. Well, um, you know, the Republican party is, um It looks like divided on so many different issues. I mean, we now know, for example, that President Biden is opening up the military now, Tonto. People who consider themselves Trans, if you will to, uh, fight for country. A number of people don't agree with that. Obviously, a lot of people don't agree with gay marriage, which was a to least for now settled by the Supreme Court until there's all these, um Societal issues. But not all Republicans agree on some of these more social issues that.

"Was One of the leaders in Kentucky of the Tea Party, and it says one of the agenda items is a Cole. This is the Kentucky State GOP executive Committee meeting today. One of the agenda items is a call to sense your Senator Mitch McConnell for his actions concerning his statements against an intention to move forward with impeachment proceedings against President Trump. Scott. Hofstra joins us Hello, Scott. Good morning, Jerry. Jeff, How are you? I'm fine. This is just the whole thing about the impeachment of President Trump is a little curious and strange to me, since he's already been removed from office and the whole point of impeachment, and the trial is to remove a sitting president from office. He has already been removed. So anyway, so tell me what's going on in Kentucky with the Republican Party there. Well. The Republican Party called the State Committee meeting today and at that committee meeting the officers of the R P T, which is a Republican Party of Kentucky's executive board, and the state County chairs and vice chairs are gonna meet and one of the agenda items is an issue to basically and the word censure was used to. Basically it's telling McConnell we don't want you to move forward with With the MP trip, and we don't want you to vote for impeachment. Well, earlier this week, the Nelson County GOP under their care, Don Thrasher actually centered McConnell for his language and his aggression toward Donald Trump in this impeachment. Today. What's being considered is a kind of a censure, but basically statement to tell McConnell knock off the impeachment. Don't wrote for it. And they're gonna hold of vote on that emotion today. Well, what happened over the last couple of days is that there are 120 counties in Kentucky. The vast majority of those county GOP chairman vice chairman have received hundreds of messages from calls, emails, saying. We're through with McConnell. We're done with him not supporting our president. Do you need to tell him no more. So these chairs were ready to come to the meeting today and vote in ordered in favor of this century motion to tell McConnell no more. Don't do this well. The R P K found out about it. And they very quietly the other day called all of the county chairs and said, How are you going to vote on this? And they didn't think there was enough moment, um out there to do it. Well, it's not very quickly there. Woz, the vast majority the counties in Kentucky, We're gonna vote in favor of that resolution. So the other day, the R P K started calling state legislators who can come to the executive meeting and they do or when they're there. They can vote. What they really sold them show up, but they whip the number of them to show up today, Maura than the county chairs so that they can override the vote of the Republican citizens in the state of Kentucky. This is the second time it's been done in the last five years. Why is the Republican Party of Kentucky not listening to their members and their voters and the county chairs? Because they work for and respond to Mitch McConnell, not the citizens, and it's always been that way. A decision decision doesn't get made it the Republican Party, Kentucky without McConnell's say so because of Mitch McConnell and his actions and words They are leaving Kentucky and they're leaving the Republican Party in droves right now, are they? Not yet? The Republican memberships in Kentucky, you're in free fall right now one of the largest counties in Kentucky had never been majority Republican. And it was within 200 resident registrations as of about three weeks ago, and all the sudden it's separated by several 1000. Wow. People would just set up. They're fed up with the Republican Party, not supporting them and what's being or what we see going on with McConnell. She's pulling the same stunt on the Trump supporters. He pulled on the tea party number years ago when he said, We're going to crush you were going to punch you in the nose. He doesn't want Donald Trump supporters, Donald Trump conservatives in the Republican Party. So he's gonna either tell him Did you get in line or get out? I'm doing so he's going to destroy the party and the party's already seen it. Yeah, it's it's amazing how someone can Say that their so called conservative that someone could say that they believe in The Citizen's rights, Tonto, you know, actually have a voice. He just You know what? I wouldn't vote and I didn't vote for Amy McGrath in the election. I couldn't. Um, but I'm not sure that it would have been any worse than what we're seeing out of McConnell right now. No, in terms of how it would have affected the country. Um I don't know. I mean, without him in charge, it probably would have been John Cornyn and John Cornyn is just another McConnell side. Maybe difference or not, Yeah. Exactly Well, it's another argument for term limits, and it's another argument for people to not be apathetic. I mean, when when people actually rise up and speak, you would expect For those people who who are supposed to work for them to respond to their bosses, But they're not. Well, that was interesting because I spoke to a couple of county chairs and last day or so, and they're just incredulous. They said the air PK is not only gonna override this base You don't believe that people were upset about this, They said they're completely clueless that this is going on. Even with all of the phone calls and letters and communications. It's amazing. Absolutely well. Scott. Keep us abreast of this. It's an important development. And another reason why China sucks. 8 26 700 wlw this summer Give your kid a chance to get ahead while learning like a college student with Georgetown University Summer High School Sessions Explorer Online programs in over 35 subjects.
