"Story the owner of a pizza shop in Northeast DC is fed up with crime in the city. She says her business has been broken into over and over again. When someone busted open the door at Menomale and burglarized the business this week, it wasn't really a surprise is to owner Maria Rusciano. She says it's only the latest incident in an ongoing problem. Usually the front gets door busted and they just take whatever they can. Typically looking for cash when they don't find any cash they would go for merchandise. Rusciano says in recent years her pizza restaurant has been broken into about five times and her nearby deli has been broken into three times. She just gained some attention on social media posting that she believes DC has fallen into anarchy. It used to be abnormal now we kind of perceive it as normal and that is not normal. In the district Nick Einele WTOP news. Theft from retail stores has also been a major problem these days and now we're learning that ten people have been arrested at several CVS Yes stores around DC and charged with theft. Police say their ages range from 15 to 53. Our partners at 7 News report none of the stolen items was worth more than $25. Most were snacks and drinks. say Police during the arrests they recovered a BB gun and amphetamines. After a reminder about a ban on wearing ski masks went out in part of our area. Some people are angry over who got it and who apparently didn't. Donald Vaughn who lives in Alexandria told NBC4 that he received a letter in the mail reminding residents local that they could be arrested if they were over 16 years old and wore a ski mask in public. But Vaughn said he didn't know it was only people who live in public housing who got the letter. Mary Jane who lives in the neighborhood said she thinks it's discriminatory. That's just like to me you like saying it's only black kids doing this. Alexandria Police Chief Don Hayes said it was a mistake that only residents of public housing got the letter and they have no intention who wear the masks. Those particular officers worked in those particular areas and that's why it went out that way. But it does send the wrong message out. A sexual assault in a high school bathroom. That is what Prince William County Police say happened in Woodbridge and now there's been an arrest. Prince William County Police say it happened back on October 18th. A teenage student says she and a male student were in a bathroom together when he sexually assaulted her. She told a family member who contacted police. Yesterday the principal of Garfield High School sent a note to parents that police would be releasing information. 18 -year Rocco -old Lominee Maluke of Dale City is charged with misdemeanor sexual battery. EOP is reaching out to the school system to learn why parents were advised a month and a half after the incident and whether the suspect was in school during the investigation. DC's 911 system has a troubled history and an by error a call taker was blamed for delaying the response to flooding at a dog daycare business in March where 10 dogs died. Now a council member is suggesting a fix. Currently 911 calls in the district are handled at the Office of Unified Communications, one central location, but Ward 1 council member Brianne Nadeau said she's proposing to have fire and emergency calls handed off to fire and EMS. So when you say it's a medical emergency or it's fire it would then go directly professionals to trained by fire and EMS. Nadeau said that would allow 911 dispatchers to focus on police calls. But in a statement DC Fire Chief John Donnelly wrote, I do not support this bill and he called OUC a valued partner and said the bill does advance not our collaborative approach. Fairfax county police chief Kevin Davis says a safety feature in the gun holster was what kept that officer alive.
