"I mean do something original like storm fort Negley or something you know I may be a risk what a big original for crying out loud so we've got word and we're gonna be hearing from us some of my colleagues this afternoon who are going to be commenting on what's going on monitoring the situation the word is the M. people folks are supposed to take over legislative plaza now here's the deal there two things you need to understand about this one it's a bunch of concrete I mean it's not like they're taking over businesses or anything else you're taking over legislative pot plaza which is concrete now it's in for the war memorial auditorium so I'm sure they're going to want that name change because that's just that that that that triggers people write their war memorial but you know there's nothing there it's a plaza for crying out loud enough they try to go into the building they would be going into the office buildings in the state legislature and so we'll see if that happens now the fortunate thing is is that mayor chicken coop has nothing whatsoever to do with this this is state property and so this is going to be this is going to be handled by the governor and the speaker of the house and lieutenant governor people whether they're the ones in charge here itself fortunately we don't have a Democrat in charge who would probably see everything over there to over them bring them Porta potties so legislative plaza this happened I believe at five o'clock is what they're saying is is when all this starts the governors made it clear matter of fact we've got a statement from the governor and he is said the that the they will you know they can protest all they want it's you know free country and all that stuff but that all Thomas Jones will not be tolerated they can't stay the night they can't pitch tents they can't they they can't they can't see and a look when they if they start destroying stuff which these folks are prone to do it's gonna get ugly so they can be ready for but they don't have any choice at legislative plaza so I'm calling it legislative autonomous zone yes hashtag lazy so that's the but if we can get that going if we get lazy going this is a really good chance in Seattle we got lazy and Nashville so bring it I've already started the day so if you wanna jump on that now other things that are going on of course Seattle cops are not able to respond to rapes and robberies because of changes that's the Capitol Hill autonomous zone that they've taken over six blocks the this is occurring in Seattle's east precinct which by the way thirties abandoned on Monday living there in the hands of activists who set their own police free Capitol Hill all part of his own chance this is from Seattle police chief Carmen best the police chief is now working on a plan to re open the precinct telling reporters calls for service have more than tripled these are responses to emergency calls rapes robberies and all sorts of violent acts that have been occurring in the area that we're not able to get to emergency response times in the area of triple G. noted going from just over five minutes eighteen minutes if that is your mother your sister your cousin your neighbor's kids being raped robbed assaulted or otherwise victimized you're not going to want to have that to report that it took the police three times longer to get there to provide services to them she says there was never an option to have residents of the precinct many of whom are members of our most marginalized communities by the way waiting for an extra length of time for an officer to arrive to a violent crime in progress police chief also confirm someone breached the building which was abandoned on Monday so they just walked away from it now she's making it clear this was not my call so this came from that idiot mayor they've got Carmen into Thursday video address to east precinct officers emphasized it was not her decision to abandon the precinct rather it was the city that relinquish to severe public pressure resulting in protesters including antifa members and self described anarchist setting up six walks per perimeter changes around the area and deeming it a police free autonomous zone I ask you to stand on that line day in and day out to be pelted with projectiles she says to be screamed at threatened and in some cases hurt them to have a change of course nearly two weeks in it seems like an insult to you and our community adding ultimately the city had other plans for the building and caved to public pressure she also highlighted reports of armed individuals patrolling certain areas of chances and said that they have heard that those individuals may be demanding payment from business owners in exchange for that protection although she noted that a later press conference the department had not received any formal reports however she also said the videos they have heard that individuals in this maybe demanding to see identification from those who live in the area this is not legal she stressed court they can't do anything about it because the mayor won't let them so the question is is president trump gonna come in with troops I'll be stunned if he does what he might I mean we'll see what happens I will he's gonna have to go through the governor and through the mayor and you know that the rains you know what and of course if they're part of the problem here he probably wouldn't even tell them the troops were coming in which would really get ugly and then you've got a question of do the police work for the mayor do they work for president trump one of the now we're gonna have police going up against our military it is not advisable and I would advise the president don't do it for one thing this is Seattle if Seattle wants to see part of the property over to a bunch of anarchist little and and let the people of Seattle be with the diversity of the people of Seattle one this but then you've got to understand that there are consequences as far as federal assistance federal money and things like this to come to Washington state you have to start saying well we're not going we're not going to be supporting some anarchists zone so we can't be sure that you we wanna make sure that none of the money we send you goes to those people so we're just going to cut your money off completely because we can't trust you anymore and when that starts to happen but it all goes away so this is coming to Nashville the governor says we encourage Tennesseans exercise their first amendment rights and have seen many examples of peaceful protests across our state in recent weeks as demonstrations continue we will continue to protect Tennesseans right to peacefully assemble while also reassuring citizens that lawlessness autonomous zones in violence will not be tolerated further Tennessee law expressly prohibits camping on state property not expressly designated as a campground area and that law will be enforced so we'll see that was back in twenty twelve by the way they pass the law after occupy national protesters set up campsites allegedly the plaza they make it a misdemeanor to do so in October of twenty eleven large group of state troopers had descended on the plaza arrested more than two dozen occupy national protesters after they refused to vacate the premises house speaker Cameron Sexton who's going to be on the show just a little bit today said his chamber is fully prepared to enhance this type of lawlessness to a felony before the legislative session adjourns which is expected to take place next week it should've been a film and start with that's how you you a misdemeanor that's a that's a ticket listen to bill Miller a spokesman for the Tennessee highway patrol which provide security in the capital declined to provide any information saying they don't discuss possible operation plans lieutenant governor Randy McNally's office today confirmed legislative leaders have been informed T. H. B. plans to bring in additional troopers for the capital this evening Chris Mumford spokesman for.

"Talk to you about that as well three one two two nine four eighty nine eighty nine or visit financial relief dot com by the way Bob castles in the WGN radio news room I've got a friend of mine a guest coming on in just a second here Nick Negley the cofounder of whiskey acres they stop making whiskey and Bourbon the making hand sanitizers for people good for them but just speaking of keeping us safe Bob Kessler do you know is mayor Lori Lightfoot out in car one right now patrolling the city looking for people breaking the wrangles know if she is and she was at the news conference earlier today but as far as that no I don't know what to find out is that amazing story though I mean literally Lori Lightfoot driving around Chicago with the weather was nice Tuesday and when she saw people that were gathering too closely or in too many numbers she got out of her car and said Hey you can break it up it's like oh no anti Laurie is here and we're in trouble well she can't get everybody but maybe we're talking about it so that helps slow that's it so you you you I'll tell you what you don't want to get busted but you really don't want to get busted by Lori Lightfoot with that stern expression of hers arms crossed in front of her looking at you by the way the other sort of story about Lori Lightfoot this week is the business about her hair cut and literally NBC news has the following story Chicago mayor defends hair stylist visit I won't read it all but impart Lightfoot was criticized for her actions getting her cut after previously stating in one of our public service announcements that getting your roots done is not essential it was one of those funny PSA she had out there and she was on the phone telling somebody talking to down so you don't have to get your hair done the stylist in the picture was wearing a mask and gloves the mayor said in defense of her hair cut during a press conference this week I'm the public face of this city she said I'm on national media I'm out in the public eye her critics have said you don't need to look any better than you do with your lawn care JB's not getting his hair cut you don't have to get your hair cut to go on national media and maybe you don't even have to go on national media said a couple of our critics if I'm scoring Lori Lightfoot for any given week since the crisis began I give a good marks every single week though this was her swing and a miss is Eric Zorn call that it was bad optics it might have been bad behavior but I'm not going to I'm not going to be too critical considering the fact that I think our mayor and our governor are doing a pretty good job the Griffin just real quick we were imagining what it would be like though if Lori Lightfoot called the crime fighter were a sort of prime time action cop TV series and if it was it would sound like this time for another exciting edition of Lori Lightfoot called the crime fighter this week your jump shot is always going to be weak Hey you kids stay out of the parks Hey chip let's play some basketball man I don't think we should because of the virus no way man we are young and appeared to be a symptomatic okay you convinced me to play sports here in this park C. isn't this fun we're having fun and feel invincible Hey you kids it's it's even though you don't show signs of the virus you still could have the virus twenty five percent maybe a symptomatic carriers okay Lori Lightfoot we will stop playing hoops here in this public space yes we have learned a valuable lesson driving around in a car one Lori Lightfoot is the covert crime fighter from earlier this week and be season one episode one for those of you keeping score at home this guy that we've had on a few times when his business kind of grew up in the dekalb area and he entered his Bourbon and whiskey and a statewide competition and won first place in our friend Lou Manfredini and I kinda like the occasional Manhattan so we got to know Nick Negley who's the co founder of whiskey acres and that's Nick on the phone right now Hey Nick you're on WG and how are you Hey good afternoon John I'm great how are you I'm doing well you cold fall some of the other distillers in the stay tuned in the Chicago area have gone from making spirits to making hand sanitizer so my doctor about it is that right yeah that's right so we kind of jokingly about a month ago said Hey let's do a little bit of hand sanitizer and we we went fifty gallons too much and we're doing about a thousand gallons a day now you may only house Mallon today but the alcohol content for say even the strong spirits is not the same as the alcohol content you need for sanitizing right yes okay if you're gonna kill something with alcohol need to be at least sixty percent and just about everything that's in a bottle this is somewhere between forty and fifty percent right a lot of folks joke about it but if you've got I'll call home drink it in moderation he urged to remember when I first when this thing first hit before talk about making your own hand sanitizer with cheap vodka that doesn't work that's not strong enough right that's right back is about forty forty percent alcohol so do something else with you back if you don't drink that don't use a percentage I don't even know what you should do it you back is that what you said you should not have that in your home or work all right so then you guys have been gone are you still making Bourbon and whiskey there in dekalb at whiskey acres yes so we've got yet to ships and so we we dedicated one ship to Bourbon production and that's the easy job to have these days and the other job at hand sanitizer production what we're doing both because you know what we're trying to to have an impact on the community and give people to think they need today at the same time we we want to stay in business and and be in business down the road and if we don't make with you today we don't have anything to sell a drink in five years yeah which was kind of deal with today and tomorrow it's as strategically as possible I had thought about it in those terms I thought you just make a batch and sell it it's got to sit for a while and if it's not sitting for a while you hit another wall in five years so you're making this some these what jugs these the to tell me a little bit about the sanitizer production then well it's similar in the sense you put liquid in a bottle adding up making sanitizer but instead of the beautiful glass bottles we have semi loads of no jobs showing up and and we're we're putting in gallon jugs and and palletizing then and we're donating and have though is that quite a bit to our local health departments in hospitals and nursing homes and things like that and and will continue to do what we can but we're also scaling to appoint were working with in a large national distributors so that they can get it from us in pallet or multi pallet quantities to distribute to those who need it you know we're we're focusing on getting getting stock packaged labeled and and useful and don't want to be in the retail side of the business well how does that happen because this wasn't your market how do you know the specs to make a by who to sell it how did they know to buy it from you how do you determine a price how do you exchange the money for the product and then ship it I mean all of that four weeks ago this didn't exist and now how many units are you moving and how do you scale up like that one you don't sleep a couple nights figure out what the world to do next but then you know if you ask a lot of the questions that we we sort of figured out so you really have to reconfigure the supply chain and get all those things to show up and and in terms of a recipe the FDA and the W. H. O. came out with a standardized recipe as well as sort of a HM leniency in the way they interpret the way we can do things and up through I think it's the last day of June they've given us a a special license for the Santa Ana tractors so we didn't get we have actually no creative latitude whatsoever in in making it yes very very strict rules of what goes in and and a lot of people ask him against energizer well the first thing is yet have I provocateur deal with stuff that eighty percent of a hundred sixty provoca hall and and glycerin and and glycerin literally just to make it a little bit sticky so that when you spray it on your hands or whatever you're trying to sanitize it stays where it belongs some hydrogen peroxide and that that kills anything that the alcohol doesn't and that's wonderful component it's called the track and it is literally the most bitter compound known to man and and you have to to simplify it spent a little bit of that detract into the the big batch and that makes it better so that if this little kid come across it they won't drink it's not palatable so then how how are people finding it to purchase also from a from a retail standpoint we we partner with a couple strategic partners so if if you are R. west of the city can head west of the city you could buy it at retail from our friends at the height of the storm sycamore row and they're getting a power to every week and we actually just started getting it to our friends at the world in Geneva and that you can get for most folks and if you got up we could set up an industrial meter commercial need you can email us at info at whiskey acres dot com and we can work with you to to do it in quantity we really don't like to see anything leaving here and then I left and Alec wanted days which is two hundred forty gallons and and be honest with you John we're booking the first reconnect we we we we don't have the ability to put anymore in a bottle of got scheduled so if if folks are interested in I have a need reach out now because our our collection California quickly I'm sorry and I'm glad to hear that right you know what will really strike your head on is this how long is this gonna lack pride and and you know so let's just pretend social distancing ends at the end of the month and people have to leave their house or get to leave their house in my humble opinion I think hand sanitizer consumption is going to go up a hundred fold yeah the young okay and and so I had a nursing home reach out to me and said they needed hand sanitizer because their corral supplier kilometer one gonna be I'll get it until November November well your question is how long this go on I hope not that long but we'll we'll do our best to keep up with supply or demand the supply as long as we can okay info at whiskey acres dot com if I wanted to reach out to you and say Hey how can I get a palette of that stuff right that's right info at whiskey acres dot com you can email Nick Magaly and the people over there what's is fascinating and you know you may not yes Sir our team actually right now bottling it so let's give a shout out here we got I think.

I was lucky to hear doing the NCA a basketball star years ago and man you use special doing that too is is just one of those people who does I think just do anything it is as crazy of Phillip Ervin you bring it home with a walk off win for three over the Phillies they split the four game series and start the one with the Arizona Diamondbacks coming into town this weekend tomorrow at seven ten first pitch and inside picture getting ready for the course of the lance and then in a Saturday mornings will probably talk about that and and do some other stuff in the meantime lots to do here before we're done an ATM rules after midnight I did I say it was sterling that's me how you doing Austin I could keep me in line producing the show your seven hundred WLW after ten o'clock in the car going to join us we'll talk about new movies and who knows what else he's won the fat guys the movies dot com I know that he saw earlier tonight the new movie the Stephen King movie. so we'll see exactly what he thinks about that in a in this like it too because there was already the movie and then there was a remake of the movie which was better than the first it and then now there's the second it which is. what a scary you know like clowns anyway so I I I don't you know I mean I I'd like to watch one of these I think at home rather than at the theater because I I can then just turn that crap all or run out of the room but if I spend two hundred dollars to go to a movie and only exaggerating a little bit then you get the over sized popcorn I should say this what talking Kevin after the news hang out into Lexington we go rob appreciate your holding it was sterling seven hundred W. O. W. what's going on. about an eighteen year old guy either yes for those who don't only reset this real quick this is the girls on trial it in the baby that it lost its life when whether or not it was stillborn or whether she killed or whatever else we play the audio earlier here more in the news coming up in about two minutes on this in all I know was gut wrenching hearing a driving in and I just it's just awful that you were gonna say what rob. what is it got wrenching if you're on one side of the argument as far as being pro life but if you're pro choice what's the difference the end result is the babies that don't need to be the one that that that you know and I'm not coming at this from any other perspectives saying you're either alive or you're dead so what the whether you're a choice or not your you not only get a big abortion argument but you already did you step right into this. this happens every day what does a little bit but it doesn't happen that way rob respect the let me just say this in this is where I'm coming from and I don't have a uterus so I feel a little on qualified though I'm a human you know I'm here now my dad and mom got together created me dad wanted to not to have me it would have been happy if they're better abortion mom said no not going to happen and then they split up in in she decided to have me but but I'll say this there is a difference between stuff that's just in there on the U. Ringwald it's not functional in able to survive outside in delivering a baby and then either ending it or having it come out dead already it which is the the crust I guess of of this particular court case respectfully so I don't know that it's comparing apples to apples and I can't go much deeper because I'm not a doctor I don't have a uterus and and it's it's it's a very difficult thing though will I think intelligent reasonable people can agree to disagree. yeah and again I I'm saying either way the child. all but is I think a natural human should be but I don't know why the pro choice people you know Ronald Reagan said it best seems like everyone who's pro choice. well yeah because we're here I think that makes sense Robert I appreciate the call. I think some people that's gonna be hard for me to say it anyway I think some people outside looking in at this regardless of not being prepared delivering a baby in and I didn't hear what is said well maybe the Skyler could have been a border war avoided the whole thing but that's awful Negley back to and I don't want to say that I don't get involved in that incident. very passion about an understandably my mother was that's why I'm here. right. so there's that and I don't know how much deeper we can get into it because it's an either or scenario and it's a. just challenging and it's bad it is okay here's the other thing as a dude it seems really weird and awkward and uncomfortable for a couple of guys to talk about what a woman it has to do with her body in her situation. and we don't I mean you know. not to know straight away ten o'clock port is that rob or is that memories that's Matt Rees he said it's me so he's got the news to let you know about Dorian what's going on up the east coast and all of that with the store more on this case Kevin Kerr gonna talk the talk it and whatever else is new at the movies and. no there's other stuff to get to so hang out it's more sterling in the home of the rates and the best bangles coverage and those bear cat seven hundred W. "Forty four on this Tuesday winding down my show before we headed back to Jeff Wagner has been off for a few days I'm sure hotels about his travels Martin more joining me in studio we're talking about the sports versus traditional sports in any sometimes the the brake conversations are what we really get into it Matt I forget what we said so one of the things I mention is the conventional sports I mean I love going to the venues right yeah Fizer forum Miller park Lambeau field that's part of that experience is hard to to lose that well exactly the there's a there's a big difference between going to Lambeau field in going to Miller park versus going to you know some arena where you know you're gonna watch people on the tiny yes I mean I you know I mean it's it's it's a vastly different experience in so I don't know that you really can't compare them and I you know I I think these both can co exist but it's gonna be interesting to see especially with the NBA's announcement of their I was two thousand seventeen their NBA two K. okay yeah where they have like seventeen teams box being one of them that do E. sports what do you what happens if that makes more money than the actual phone no regular physical box plus the taxes weighing in I feel like society will get to a point where they have been enough with over privilege athletes getting paid tens of millions of dollars to play games and conventional sports well and I I don't know if that's the reality yeah I think we're a long ways from that because you know part of his just tradition like I mentioned it's a it's just the you know you took a little kid to a baseball game or dad took a son or daughter to a baseball game that's not going to go away but you can't ignore money now when the money goes to that movie I only took the money talks Moneyball another another one here's the opposite side of this and I actually agree with this no watching sports watching caps kids are fat enough get out and play I'm a big fan does it contribute soon laziness or in some cases health issues with his arguments outside well yeah you're I mean you're gonna be drinking Red Bull and pizza and she does and that is not an exaggeration because that's exactly what I did this past weekend that was your your your gaming diet what I did not eat healthy this weekend I'll it wasn't a salad I'll tell you that wasn't when your wife comes back she can arrange that Kim yeah well I do all the cooking and house of all do you yeah I just it just I'm a fantastic cook in another life I would be a cook yeah and your car mechanic seek you kind of know will know how to do things alright so one more from Justin to six call it I think my like many other events and forms of entertainment the sports represents the ever diverse interests and personal choices of people and the splintering of mass view attendance numbers loss of common experiences like the water cooler conversations of all of these Addison now we're looking for you need to experience different things that's why people are attracted to order some of these crazy shows in my mind was in my wife could people watch yeah you know the the bachelor bachelorette all yeah say yes to the dress you know my cousin something inside right is a million shells it's it's really interesting to in the just even the last like ten years and the industries that have been fabricated out of completely thin air billion dollar industries like he supports in you to bloggers like me or you can make a living off of doing something that you never went to college for it's not any kind of real skill other than you know it you're playing video games or making videos and it's astonishing and it's kind of it's neat that people can create something for themselves and make a living doing this kind of thing make millions of dollars when this was something that was not possible and working twenty years ago yeah we do have stock in tradition right why would we assume that the next hundred years look anything like the current hundred hello so go back a hundred two hundred years there weren't sports French is like a franchise like we have now no things change so they may be much much make a different world maybe it is literally an electronic digital world I'm I'm sure you don't have to physically interact and you have a great point again during the the I'm gonna remember for you the dangers nous of sports the physical vinyl yes boards as they dumb down some of these things like Smokey the NFL yeah to keep players safe have you lost some of the energy and excitement of that sport and is that the press the number yeah that Negley negatively affect the numbers and do you does it not become more appealing to younger people and they're like well this is boring because I'm watching this football game but they reviewing you know plays the reviewing pass interference and and all these tackle and stuff every two minutes this is boring I'm gonna go watch this fortnight streamer hello yes the violence fees because that's that's something that a lot of people yeah but you like me that I don't games so I know that that's a part of this yeah it's it's a interesting topic so how do we if those of us who are concerned about some of the stuff with you the saturation level of of the of kids exposure the stuff I mean that's something to worry about right yeah you know and here's the thing you know we've had the all this unfortunate gun violence in these mass shootings and stuff like that and one of the first things people always like to jump on it is you know video games are this is this is one of the reasons and although there's a merry out of evidence that kind of proves against that is a video gamer I still find it hard to believe that maybe it client and so I don't really know where I stand on that as far as video game violence because all the games I player first person shooters and I mean it's graphic stuff yeah so I I don't know how that affects I think normal people it's probably fine but I think people that are maybe mentally unstable I feel like it could have an effect on I know the evidence is right now says no but it is a gamer I don't see how it went I think if you are someone is consumed by video gaming and to the point where you're you're on an eight or more hours a day there is a there there's an issue there I I think yeah unless you're paid to do it right now to that point about the public venues the texture makes a great point people are afraid of public venues maybe that's part of the appeal so they don't like to go out to these public maybe they're doing it at home because if they feel safer same thing with the yeah I had somebody said the other day they don't like movie theaters because of the Aurora shooting therefore they love watching movies at home in their home theater and that's the I can totally sympathize with them that makes sense I mean I hate going to public events like I don't like I don't like going to stadiums and me being around a lot of people so the reality of the real world has changed people's I think interest in doing certain things I had this is a topic yesterday then my question was simply has have mass shootings change your behavior and comes to public events and I think that and I I sort of I think is a Harris poll I think at least thirty three percent of the population nationally said it does it make us rethink I'm looking around when I go to hear your hypersensitive to I mean you want you know you walk into the gates at some point how to get on this topic well this is a lot to this all right so make a prediction before going to break down you think he sports a list of of for the money side will be bigger than conventional sports and tenure yes he's already getting yeah I do it next year it's gonna be a billing billion dollar industry and they say by twenty twenty one is gonna be like a three or four billion dollar industry I think it will here's the the net naysayer negative of that traditional sports have mega contracts with the big network right he's forced don't have that exactly yeah we're talking billions of dollars for NFL football and MLB and all the other sports is sports haven't made that switch because frankly again this is to our friend Caitlyn is it your beer paying to watch someone play game yeah is that ever gonna be that popular not to me but also somebody is Leah obviously there is and this is where we got to take off the U. S. blinders internationally that's where the audience all for sure we're a small country compared to we like China India and we like to think the United States of America represents ninety nine point nine percent of planet earth but in fact it's just a small little slice of the pie in so there's obviously something going on that we don't get I'll give you a little little love before we go to the break one of Texas is really enjoy Martin more young guy who who does young guys stuff yet is really interesting I appreciate all the young come it's gonna be forty next year yeah well she does come in your young forty if I like I'm a young sixty you are yeah I thought you were fifty no sixty surprising as are a mild are these very will wrap up Marshall had enough to Jeff what you're after the break right here in the museum's more of the Steve Skippy.
