Elon Musk Moves to Texas, Takes Jab at Silicon Valley
"Don. We're talking about elon. Musk moving from california to texas now. Cnbc dot com first reported last week that according to people who were close to elon musk he was planning on moving their well today when he was talking on the ws j. ceo council. He was asked pointblank about it and he said yes. I have moved to texas. And that was one of the more interesting comments he had the question becomes. Why leave california and the question is whether or not california. It's certainly not a friendly state when it comes to business you want. Says it's a great state but it does have its problems. Here's what he had to say. Team has been winning for too long been do tend to get a little complacent title and they don't win the championship anymore. Kelvin has been waiting for a long time. And i think they're taking for granted little bit. He also said that the bay area. The silicon valley has an outsized influence on the country and certainly on the business climate. Not only in california but around the country and around the world. Keep in mind elon. Musk has plenty of business in texas. They've got the starship business down in the southern part of the state as well as the new gigafactory giga texas as they refer to it just outside of austin. That's where they plan to by the end of next year. Rollout the first cyber truck and that's going to be a huge plant so they've got plenty of business. There nealon must making it clear he will be spending his time and his residences now in texas
Elon Musk Shares New Details on Tesla’s Battery Costs
"Moving onto the european battery conference interview with elon. Musk then that's was overnight about two. Am pacific time about a twenty minute interview and you did share quite a few things one of the things that caught the most attention at least on twitter today was elon. Musk's comments on long-term battery cost goals for tesla. So of course we heard at battery day. They aim to reduce those costs by about fifty six percent per kilowatt hour. So you on here. Finally gave us a dollar target. We had not heard that before he says quote the long term goal would be to try to get to a cost per kilowatt hour of perhaps around fifty cents or fifty five cents at the cell level for a long range battery and quote so you may have noticed the reason part of the reason this got so much attention today on twitter was because he on said fifty cents or fifty five cents per kilowatt hour at the sea level considering most estimates today put tesla above one hundred dollars per kilowatt hour down fifty cents per kilowatt hour obviously would be pretty insane so he llanos pretty clearly misspeaking there. Just run through a little bit of math year in case anyone has just a wild theory that maybe someday that would be possible. Nealon stock really long term. No that's not the case so to demonstrate that we can look nickel content in the battery pack for the model three that contains around thirty kilograms of nickel a kilogram nickel. Today costs about fifty dollars per kilogram. A little bit more. But let's just round down the scale discounts. You know whatever the case may be so. That's four hundred and fifty dollars of nickel in a battery. Pack for the model three assuming that seventy five kilowatt hours that works out to six dollars per kilowatt hour just for the nickel content in tesla battery so yeah that's just raw materials. There's no way they're ever getting down to fifty cents or fifty five cents per kilowatt hour. He also says at the cell level so even if you misinterpreted that and said that's a purse l. price of fifty cents or fifty five cents. Which will never make sense to quantify it that way. But let's say the new forty six eighties. There's going to be you know. Eight hundred nine hundred of those per mile three pack if each cell were fifty cents. You're then looking at a total battery cost of four hundred and fifty dollars but again just the nickel content alone costs around that much so pretty clearly ilan just misspeaking here any means fifty dollars or fifty five dollars per kilowatt hour so that shouldn't be too surprising with the math that we had worked through from battery day that fifty six percent cost reduction most estimates today. Put tesla at the pack level. You know somewhere around one hundred and five to one hundred and fifteen dollars per kilowatt hour so we can use these long-term targets and combine those with the battery percent reductions that we heard on battery day to get a gauge for those current cost estimates. But it's important to remember. That on here is talking about the cell cost and during battery day that fifty six percent per kilowatt hour reduction seven percent of that was actually four. Sell to vehicle integration. So i don't think we should be. Applying that percentage on this base cost here. So let's say than just at the cell cost level. They're targeting a forty nine percent reduction there if that's an accurate assumption that means yawns numbers here would imply that. Today's prices are somewhere between ninety eight dollars and one hundred and eight dollars per kilowatt hour at the cell level. So i don't know how much the additional cost to go from. Cell to pack would be per kilowatt hour but these do seem to line up pretty well with what estimates have been and can give us a lot more confidence in where tesla is currently and then of course. We're they intend to get to longer term with you on confirming that in this interview. So that means longer term you could be looking at a seventy five kilowatt hour. Pack costing just three thousand seven hundred fifty dollars versus today may be somewhere around seven thousand seven hundred so that's obviously very exciting for them locations for the car but one thing that i do also think is really interesting. Is the marginal impact of that as you. Add battery capacity because at that price. It just doesn't cost that much to add additional range adding twenty five kilowatt hours. There would only cost additional roughly twelve hundred dollars so in the case of a model three for example you could add an additional say hundred miles of range for only a final cost to the customer if you apply twenty percent margin on that of about fifteen hundred dollars. Obviously the batteries have to fit in the car. So there's going to be a limit. But i think as better costs come down. That limit is going to be more physical constraint versus pricing constraint.

Tesla Q2-20 Earnings Report
"Everybody. Round our here and today we are continuing our discussion. On TUSLA's second quarter earnings report yesterday we went through a lot of the financials and tassels announcement about gigafactory Texas today I wanna go through more of the takeaways from Tesla's conference. Call The stock on the day to day. Probably the reaction everyone was hoping for from the market, but finished down five percent. Percent to one thousand five hundred thirteen dollars, seven cents that did compared to the Nasdaq, though with a rough day as well down two point three percent, and if we look at the charts, the direction of moves were pretty similar with Tesla's movement, just being amplified from the macro environment given the rising expectations heading into earnings, which as we discussed the whisper number. Number that was posted by barons was for a positive fifty cents per share, which of course ended up being the number I don't think it's too surprising to see Tesla not deviate to the upside from the macro environment here, especially given the outsized impact that regulatory credit sales had on that earnings number, but as we talked about yesterday, even stripping out those regulatory. Regulatory Credit Sales I'm still very happy with the financial results Tesla Post. oftentimes it just takes a while for the markets. Really figure out what it wants to do. For example after the pretty good results from key one dull stock was down about twelve percent two days afterwards, but two months afterward was up forty percent and tussles performance today, not really all that. That bad compared to other stocks apple, for example with sound four and a half percent Amazon down three and a half percent all right that being said, let's go through some of the main takeaways from the earnings call I want to start off here with batteries autonomy, and then I think the third leg of the triangle manufacturing which yellen reiterated on this call. Call thinks will be the long term sustainable advantage of Tesla. We talked a little bit about this yesterday, but I think one of the most interesting points that yuan made on batteries was on lithium, iron, phosphate, versus Nick Manganese Cobalt as we've talked about in the past lithium iron phosphate is energy dense as Nicomedes, cobol but Tesla has made such progress in their. Their powertrain efficiency and in areas like heating, ventilating and air conditioning that they are now able to use lithium iron phosphate in their vehicles and still get an acceptable range. This is important for a few reasons I think. The primary reason is because as Tusla continues to try to ramp very aggressively. They obviously need a lot of batteries. Yulon did address their constraints. Constraints on the colony said pretty much at any given point in time there's going to be some constraint within the battery supply chain, and whenever that constraint is, that's going to be the thing that determines the rate of growth, so if Tesla can now use two different technologies to different cathode chemistries that allow them to use different raw materials that diversity in supply. Supply chain or the addition of another chemistry supply chain should really help them grow more quickly at Nealon was very complimentary of the supply chains that exist in China and China is very heavily focused on lithium iron phosphate. Additionally, my understanding of the raw materials is that they should be cheaper for lithium iron phosphate, though sometimes those equations are not simple as they seem. Seem because he need to factor in things like using more cells of with your mind, phosphate to get the same energy that you could get from fewer cells of nickel, manganese cobalt, for example regardless if you are ramping production aggressively and plan to continue that for a long time, that diversity of resources is really important. You don't WanNa put all the pressure on. On one resource if they're resources-scarce, obviously that would cause the price to rise, and as we heard you on the call yesterday. Tesla really really needs nickel utilizing with your mind, phosphate reduces that need a little bit still. There are cases where Tesla's going to need that. Higher Energy density associated with nickel manganese cobalt. You mentioned that that would be the case for. For vehicles like the semi and the roadster, while we're on the semi here, I'll just round out some of the comments on that. Unfortunately, we didn't get any information on a production rate target for the semi, and despite that leaked email from Elon saying it was time to bring the semis volume production, tesla did reiterate and the update letter that deliveries for the. The semi will start in two thousand twenty one. They stated that again on the call, and also said as they have said in the past that the first deliveries of the Tesla semi will be to Tesla itself for essentially more extensive long-term validation, though they did add that some long-term loyal customers will also get some Tesla. Semis early on other points on the. The semi Jerome I believe and Ilana emphasized that they were able to think about ramping the semi now because of some reductions and battery constraints that they are anticipating a lot of that is the lithium iron phosphate stuff that we talked about? But they did tease things that they have planned for Battery Day. Yuan also said that they continue to expect to expand. Expand battery supply with others I think he specifically mentioned Panasonic LG and say l., but then also said that there will be more on that subject on battery. Day implying that do for the vertical integration in the battery supply chain, or at least that was my take. Oh, and also last thought on the semi. It's always fun to hear. Jerome talk about it. It, he's clearly very excited to get rolling and he mentioned. There's a lot of new things that they've integrated in the semi which are pretty impressive, so lots look forward to. They're all right next up I. WanNa, talk about autonomy. We've heard Ilan talk about a lot of these things, but we did get a little bit more context or details on autonomy in. The specifically Ilan talked about how he has been testing the newest update of autopilot, which of course is the core rewrite version, which he essentially described as the difference between looking at a picture and going to surround video, explaining that today autopilot essentially functions in two and a half dimensions, the Tutti being looking at a picture, and then the half dimension, being what he described as a harsh correlation with time, but not really a good. Good one and then described the core rewrite as being four dimensional so three dimensional visual space with the fourth dimension, being a smooth understanding of time. You noted that it's really difficult to convey better. A forty system works you on mentioned that he has of course been testing the core rewrite in his vehicle, and that it really is profoundly better than people realize saying quote really profoundly better. It's like amazing and quote and then. Then it's getting close to being able to take him from home to work without any interventions despite going through intersections of course and things like construction zones whatever the case may be,

You know people maybe need to hear bad advice you know and stupidity and and maybe advice that would actually be harmful and that. That's something I think. It sounds like something people need at this time. Yeah well here's one right now. This is an advice question. And it's from B K Walker. Seventeen on twitter. How do I make a skype first date during the quarantine more fun and exciting than just chatting nudity? I mean yes. I agree with SONA completely first of all you can control the lighting You can control the angles. I'm not someone who I think is very appealing in the nude but I think I could probably alter things using various angles and lights and yeah I think it would show me off to the best effect. Plus it's a safe way to be naked. Yeah so I'm GonNa go with SONA and say I think nudity is a great way to just right off the bat show that a or not letting this virus harsher mellow. You're still you're still out there having fun and doing what what makes you happy. And what better way to start an open and honest relationship then with full on skype duty. So that's I think probably the best thing you could possibly do on a first date. Who would have a first date on skype choice? Otherwise you're going to wait a month. Yeah but at least. Nothing's going to happen. So why not wait? 'em Well maybe it's nice because you get to talk to each other you get to know one another and then the physical stuff can come later. I don't know and according to your advice something is GonNa. Yeah but just alone. I think the telephone is a better way to communicate in these times. It's very romantic. Way To communicate Leaves other things to the imagination so given you to completely opposed pieces of advice be naked in video on skype but also hughes the telephone to be coy. Maybe I don't have the best take on. This don't admit I don't know I mean it's been a long time since I dated. I've been married. What nineteen years so I haven't really dated almost five years because there was that period of time there where I thought it was. I misunderstood. I thought it was okay to start again and my wife quickly explained for marital bond. Thanks so whatever you just suddenly thought that it was okay to start dating in the middle of your marriage. I thought there was something about fifteen years in some rhyme. Like fifteen years in let the fun begin and so. I think it was my own misconception but I started and I wasn't hiding anything I just was while my wife was in the kitchen calling people and saying. Hey this sounds great. I'd like to see more of you and we straightened it out. We straightened it out. We we talked to a marriage counselor and a lawyer and and we spoke to a moral philosopher. Who explained that I was apparently? The term is a sociopath so We all we got. It all worked out but anyway okay. Yvonne Kennedy on Facebook asks after two weeks of self sequestrating. How could I know for sure whether I love my family or if it is just Stockholm central? Well what I keep saying to my family as well. You're the family. I've got in the morning when I see my son I go well. You are the son that showed up and that I have so. I guess you're my son that I love and then I say some version of that to my daughter and then I say some version of that to my to my wife so yeah I find that way. There's no dishonesty you know because if you tell your family. Oh my God. We're all in this together. I love you. It might be Stockholm Syndrome so eliminate that possibility by telling them upfront. You're who's with me this situation so I guess I love You. I guess I love you. Yeah Yeah because we're in this situation together randomly then. I suppose you're the ones that I love okay. I don't know that way. There's no chance that later on but you said you said you love me men now you see stucco man. That's my wife. Sounds and that's your wife okay. I'm married Tommy John from behind you you know. Do Look.

"My name is Kevin Nealon and I feel confused that I'm considered Bride's friend why would you say that we've known each other's you were here are sorry such an asshole? Mingo walking books Hello there and welcome to Karnal. Brian needs a friend. This is a podcast normally done With all of us in the same room but as you can imagine because of the corona virus pandemic we've all Isolated ourselves. We're all in our homes and doing this remotely. I'm able to see people courtesy of zoom which seems to be how everybody's doing everything these days and you know what it's fun. I prefer being in the same room with my squad. Is that make you laugh? Taylor swift has a squad and your my your my squad. You're my you're my girl. Squad is so much cooler than US though. She's got supermodels and I don't know I guess what I don't think her squad is cooler than our squad. I don't think gee-gee Hadeed is inherently. Is that the right person that I get one right. Yes you did okay. I'm proud of you good. She hangs out with G. G. Hadid Peter Faulk and wait and Thailand in that one and tyrone Powell and she's and Salvador Dali. She's got her cool people and the guy who did all the sound effects on the police squad. Movies Micro Wins Louise Academy Not Police Squad. Michael Winslow so she's got her cool squad. But I think my squad is just as cool if Selena Gomez came up to you and said I'll join your squad but you have to get rid of you know Matt would you do it. Yes Oh wow you. Didn't even hesitate. What was that? Yeah I mean it's Selena Gomez and Matt I fall Matt. Our producer does a terrific job but I think Selena Gomez could do that job. I think. That's something she could learn don't you? Yeah but I could do her job or you kidding you could be. You could be like the face of knock Zima beauty cleanser. You could wear a certain kind of lagging and immediately get the sales. Go through the roof of that leading. I'm doing it now right. I can see you. Actually I just saw you lift your leg. That was impressive. Maybe you're right so yeah I got macro here and start him of says. I don't need to even do introduce sonal anymore. I mean but I think it's the polite thing. Okay so all right. We'll sonal so now. I consider you guys my squad like Taylor Swift has her squad and do a Leepa probably has her squadron. My kids can't believe I even know who do Aletha is I'm shocked. You just said her name and the absolutely shocked yes. I thought it was a country and yeah I said I thought I would get a stamp from duleep or maybe I'll do a travel show to do a Leepa where what's the main export by Duleep. And then they told me no no. No you're you're an idiot or so. Glad do Aletha threw off the shackles of British tyranny. And is now an independent government. I was so wrong about duleep. I kept doubling down and saying I want a t shirt that said I went to do a leap and all I got was this t shirt but then I found out that apparently very very popular. You're like I want to try to do a leap in cuisine. Yeah I went to sleep and restaurant. The stuff they do with lamb is absolutely amazing. Early on pirates pirates used to love to park their ships near do Aletha because it had a had a cove that was very hard to to enter ships on patrol French and British. So there's many many people think there's a lot of treasure hidden in two Aletha. You're bordering on Gross Double Entendre. I'm not even trying to. I'm just saying that I really did think duleep was was an independent country dot its independence in one thousand nine hundred sixty six a lot about the history of a fake country. That doesn't even exist. I know everything. There is about the country of Duleep doesn't exist and nothing about the absolutely famous and super talented singer named do Alita. I wish what if I started to have a squad that was wouldn't that puzzle? Everybody if my squad had the hadeed sisters in it Carly Kloss. Yeah exactly and I was constantly doing stuff with my girl squad and it just baffled people. They're like I don't understand. One of these things does not with the other like all of them together. You know in some cool location and I'm in the picture to wearing an ill fitting jacket and I don't know I'm just obsessed with getting a squad I wanNA call squad. I'll be your squad. Yeah.
Oliver Wellington & Neil Mody: The No Effort Approach To Promotion
"Today's nice guys episode. We dig deeper into what? Why and how? With headliner founders. Neil mody I think I got that right. Neil mody and Oliver Wellington we're going to talk podcasting promotion and welcome guys to the Nice guys on business podcast and you did get it right where we're glad to be here. Thanks for having you guys are welcome in and Neil so everybody knows your voice. Neil can you? Can you say hi so everybody knows who you are when you first start talking ahead? Neil Haya okay that is neil and Oliver. Please share your voice because you said although you go second. You're smarter than than Neil. Is that correct now? I actually didn't say but Yeah this is my voice so it is now and we sound the same tough. Well maybe maybe for the first couple of questions you can say. Hey this is Neil speaking your. Hey this is Oliver speaking. That's probably a good way to tune in for for a Nice Guy Community. It's so rare that we actually have two people that were interviewing. I thought. Maybe it's because people are so repelled by me that they just don't ever WanNa come on at two at a time and but I see this is the actual a very good partnership that you guys have. We've you're cutting yourself to To shore but y'all overnight worked together for two companies now so over a decade. So we're we're we're attached at the hip on what's interesting is so my partner Strickland Bonner who co host. The Friday shows with me we do too interviews and one just stricken I shoot shit and talking about business and other fun stuff about our personal lives You know we both have what we would call both are zone of excellence. Zone of genius and Strickland's zone of Excellent improbably even gravitating towards zone of genius our our systems and creating great processes in a spreadsheets. And I suck at that stuff and I tend to find that my zone of genius or zone of excellence may be gravitating towards my zone of Janus is working in the relationship and sales space. So why don't you? I share where you guys. Kinda fit in with each other and then we'll talk a little bit about headliner and in some of your successes that you've had well I will. This is Oliver speaking. I will say that most people that know nealon. I think it's funny that we worked together. 'cause we're very different trying to explain myself by actually describing. Neil and so you can imagine the opposite okay. Nail is very technical very analytical very logical. He's very patient. I am kind of odd. Not those things as much and so like I don't know if Sarah Zones of excellence I don't know if I really think about things in that same way. But in general I. Can you know work a lot with our community building? You know working with users at our last company. We were with bloggers. I kind of lead the community outreach and community building there And then you know we're startups. We juggle a lot of the other kind of West exciting tasks that startup as to. But Neil and I actually kind of are a little bit of a two headed monster. When it comes to different projects will work on. You know all types of aspects of projects together. So so Oliver would you. Would you consider yourself of the two of you? Would you consider yourself the more client facing side of the business and you would think that but no okay so wait is so so neil is the is the tech expert and he's the client facing site so. I'm trying to figure out what the sandwiches there. Yeah so if you think about it right like we cover you know. We're working with larger companies and then we also work with just a huge array of podcasters. Right so if you think about the community of you know your podcast or you're just starting out and wants to get in and try out these new tools like that's kind of what I work with. Neil works with the background is acknowledging but also does the the more B. Two B. sales stuff at the higher level sue. Okay got it. I'm wearing a tie dye t shirt right now. I saw that and I and I appreciate and respect that I probably for most of my. I'm fifty five so for most of my My teenage years and even beyond I probably I look in my closet. I don't know if I have any of my tie-dyed shirts. I think my first ex wife decided that she was going to throw them all away like so. How about you Neil? What's tell me a little bit about where yeah either Describe Oliver to me or describe yourself to me either way totally. Well I think I'LL OLIVER. Those around about way to say for his excellence is a is creative juices and specifically community building so. I think those two aspects are like really big Boats in our last company in this on soap so yes this is just some background. We were one of the biggest content recommendation companies On the Internet it's called it was called N relate so if you've ever read an article in at the bottom those links of what else to read We were one of the biggest providers of that and our biggest market was in the blocks gear. So if you're a blogger circa two thousand nine two thousand two thousand eleven is a pretty good chance used our software. We're on over like one hundred thousand sites and so on and Oliver was responsible for really growing that Community building it serving it Working with them to really refine our product and then I guess yeah for myself I guess I mean I just yeah very technical background And so I'd say I really liked to think hard in deep and long about problems and problem solving different types of things so that's probably mine. If I had to come up with one let me ask Oliver. Let me ask you a question just because I know that many of the time some of some of the challenges that our podcast clients have as we are talking to those that are in our turnkey podcast community. 'cause I said I'm going to really work hard at trying to to wear a couple of different hats here. I WANNA wear the head of the podcast as a podcast producer in the owner of a production company. But I also want to talk to the entrepreneurial base. That's out there. But let's just talk to the podcast for a quick second because it sounds like you've had a considerable amount of success in this basin so let me direct this dollar for just a moment. What do you think is the is the biggest hurdle that people have to get over in order to start building community because that's one of the biggest challenge that talk about the big three and podcasting. It's how do you build community? How do you grow influence? And how do you make money while money and influence or important? It's really challenging to do any of those things without a community. So can you share? Maybe some of the some of the maybe some of the mistakes some of the things that you see that people should be leaning into when it comes to building community. I really think we've always taken a very kind of basic approach to this. It works and that's number one Listen to people's feedback to enact that feedback Three let them know about it. And that's kind of the cycle. We follow right so you release something thinking people will use it someway the they might use it the way you intended. They might not make sure when they tell you. Hey I wish it did this that if if you can do that for them in the nasty blast for that you make those changes and then over time you build the product that people really want and it'll somewhat naturally it gets spread around the best way people hear about us is word of mouth and so that's kind of what we've totally focused is just getting a great product out to people and continually improving it.
How to watch Elon Musk unveil the Tesla Cybertruck, a new electric pickup truck
"The twenty first is the Tesla pickup truck. Who does the play by play on the radio for the White Sox gave me great advice right before I was going to do it was up in the booth saying hello to people and they said this is Jimmy partly to be thrown out the first pitch and he said he goes? It's not the first pitch thinking. It's the first toss. If you think you're playing catch with your dad. You're not gonNA throw it away. If you're just trying to aim like throwing the ball that direction and not throwing a strike could probably throw strike and it was like that was the best advice because then loosen me up and I just I just in that direction and then boom right in there right right the announcers experience. Wasn't it was great. It was cool because you are. I'm not as famous as you. It never will be this new animated thing there. I I out you. Don't WanNa be the joke you don't WanNa be. The you know the the clips of Mary Dell about what about George George W Bush George W the original Bush one of them real through it poorly yeah W he could've pitched right. He was good There's one female actress who throws threw threw it at her feet. Lakers horrible going to be part of that compilation right. I was friends for why wants to todd zeal the mets play the cubs as well and Mike Piazza and they invited me the batting practice Tesla Chase Stadium. How was that man. I didn't think I'd hit you and but it was me and I think me and todd against Mike Piazza and they're the right fielder fielder. Tino guy forget his name o'malley but anyway so I get up there and I got he gives me these two batting gloves you know really thick and pitcher you know who's behind that little cage and that a throws up beside the bollock seventy miles an hour. I was hitting like every one of them out to left field left field left field and for a week or two after that I couldn't grab anything with my hand yeah hitting short on the bat down by the handle if I didn't have the gloves on using C. Two Hooks Right. Now right seems unfair. I think you could have connected to hit one out of the park or were. They not where you're not making that contact. I was getting pretty deep into left field really yeah but I don't think I can play baseball in high school college. No little league not a little league. I played played and then that was enough. I was more of a football guy. You loved it. You liked gridiron. Yes yes gridiron skin tight pants and you still follow football. That's the thing you follow well. I WANNA start following this year. Normally I like watching like the playoffs and the but the game the other night was great. I mean I watched the most of the innings like the politics of it. We talking. I don't I know what sport Dr Simon Quarters but I do want to get into. I WANNA find a team but I you know I grew up in Connecticut like like Steve here and we're in between New New York and Boston. He's closer to Boston but so it was kind of a tough choice so I ended up not really being a fan of the team and I still am not but if I have a friend that's a quarterback on the team like I know Aaron Rodgers a little bit Green Bay Okay and then you know Brett Farr. I knew him a little bit. I like he's a selling razors. Now kazeem Brett Farve. He puts his name on a razor good for him right so you get some that raise due to a commercial Jimmy. Somebody asked You I've done commercial. You have absolutely what did you do I did a rallies hamburger spot. That was my rallies are a US. I want to say maybe just I with. This bullet why there's no there's what. I don't think there's any was one right near your house. Almost positive it's not any I would say eighty percents rallies and then I was a spokesman from all of in Portland Island for six years. I remember seeing a lot of commercials. No I've just made it very clear. I've done the two that I just. I think you're a liar doc. No I'm not hanging out with Arnold Palmer but I would. I would do Arnold Palmer fast exclusionist managing him. What a nice man he had and do you. Are you a golfer as well. I am and are you a decent gopher. Let's just say professional no no. I'm not a good Golfer at all. What does what does that mean to. You are doesn't mean anything I like. I like the whole of the game. You know you shoot in the nineties the the shoot in the nineties joy doesn't I do I do yeah. I haven't played in a while. Though what happened hurt yourself. I got a sore shoulder. Who Know Yeah Yeah. It's called arthritis getting older. No no no. There's nothing to do with it. Not You're not getting the okay I got on for us from somebody. It's contagious. Here's here's the thing you know. you get older and you start replacing body parts like. I gotTA HIP had replaced. I didn't know you had a hip replacement. You're like Bo Jackson Yeah Yeah. Alec Baldwin just had a hip replaced. I didn't know that about Alexander another one coming up the other the other side. I got a shoulder I could have replaced to replace your shoulder. Yeah they still have the had a hip so they could use that in my show they can't down yeah so you know. I used to tell people from playing football and stuff and rugby but it's genetic it's all DNA DNA. My mother had a lot of her body parts replaced she did yeah. Do you only going in for surgery or did you do. I don't really need the body parts I like. I had friends that went to the dentist because they are drug addicts and all the medication. They'd have a tooth pulled to get drugs. WHOA that's an addiction or crown veneers put on mm-hmm but yeah so I do I kind of like the idea of going into surgery because it is such a lesson in surrendering entrust and knowing that your life is in these people's hands and they're all professionals and they're gonNA take care of you hopefully yeah and then they put that heavy warm blanket Stephen Right. It's it's warm and they tuck in and you got a little bit of that add valium or whatever it is going through your veins and and just everybody looks good and they're professionals and you love everybody and you know you. My my wife always brings a camera now to recover because she wants record me because the drugs are still working on really silly with the doctor yeah call them captain and stuff but but I do do like the feeling of going under and coming out I I'm paranoid and nauseous nauseated come out of it and I don't like coming out of being put under anesthesia. Why are you paranoid. I just wanted the effects that has on me. Okay so you need to get a different. drug different actually anesthesiologist. When's your next one every week. I would get that too. I would get nauseated because I had my tour both of my bicep muscle missile. Oh how'd you do that. One was playing basketball. Oh boy and then two years later moving a couch lifting catch up with one arm and trying to get the electric out from under the lake. Yeah and I saw that one gadget Jesus came out of that one. I was so nauseated yeah I was throwing up and but then they changed after that they did yeah. I did not know Oh. You could tell them a menu. I didn't know dailies. They'll get the special stuff just loan in yeah. It's the best in one of the Times. My wife was with me and she told me that I spent the entire time coming out of surgery going. Nobody's kicking me out of here. He's kicking me out force me. I believe I'm not ready to leave. Nobody's telling you to leave your joking. You're serious serious like I literally thought people forcing the and then you were throwing up all the way out yes Dagobert reverse immediately remember. Hey guys met here with some days for it. She's some stuff I guess before that to as yet jobs before the ones that are currently on interesting yeah well. I mean that's how it works. You lose when you get another one. She lost her kid wants. I don't know if you knew that we lost him left. Him really shouldn't lose but she she likes to behind it a house right right well. I think I heard something about with a bunch bunch of people I mean. They had a bunch of people what I heard right. There was a documentary about it. Oh Yeah I remember that happened twice. Kuralt who else would think Joe Patchy weirdly enough was in an documentaries. It's interesting. What's that you got a minute. I've been looking at open houses. the realtors always tried to impress you by telling you who lives down the street yeah and they always come up to you like this on. That's supposed to say this but you know you know Vanessa. Why can't even think of Van Away today right and then you look at another house guy you know I'm not supposed to tell you this but Joe Pesci. She lives in the room upstairs. It comes out and gets you buy the house yeah but JOE's already and I think that they should tell you. That's important to know you have a tenant yeah. That's not one this you keep under wraps. Is it yeah I tell you that Joe Patchy lives in the walls vowed that beater room with Joe Patchy you imagine he hasn't died right now. He's with us. The did you see that one the Hollywood movie how was it. You're nodding your head. Yes from old saybrook did they. Have they show that in old saybrook yeah wow it's a great movie. How many followers do you have Jimmy. Jimmy seven seven seven really enjoy it. We're GONNA play the the people in the next office. They're you're listening to rumble with them later. What was this office before. You couldn't tell you a million dollars question how `bout for two million dental office the skills right there he said DDS earlier so admittedly that was brain. Where did you say when we were outside. I said this reminds me of coming to my dentist. Wow that's weird. Also because you guys shot me up with Novocaine when I I'll tell you this very quickly and then we'll go to a break but based on Kevin pointing out that he does a voice over Jimmy Carter look alike. I met a guy and I apologize and this person. I can't remember his name but I met him at the comedy store over the weekend where I had all L. describes a very average set but luckily I was able to shake that off and having equally average said it flappers average Saturday night what a bummer man to whoever says some just puck and drive home and jot anyhow this guy came up and said hey it's nice to finally meet Jimmy Pardo. I boy sobers and I called it all the time. They're looking for Jimmy Pardo type. I go how `bout they called. Jimmy Pardo film guys available the hell's voiceover work. Maybe they hear you incessantly definitely talking about how you're terrible at reading. I I can learn it that true to me. What's your cold reader Kevin but I could be for the right amount of money. Your average act the average accu the same opening line most of the time I do not what was your opening line that night mm-hmm. I clumsily clumsily. I wanted to get into my topical trump material without the bit that usually goes prior to that because that's a link bit it so clumsily said that I just got back from Alabama and that I'm just relieved to not be in that kind of weather situation something like that. Thank you guarantee. One lab received over the weekend. You don't follow the news yeah so you know you can't rely on that. Well the last thing I need. Is You condescending me. About what does the next thing you need to. Many yes I met at this gentleman who again is name. I can't remember policies that is infuriating that means you need and I hate to say it publicly and I apologize to Bruce before I even said you need new representation if you're getting beaten voice over agent okay so it's not bruce. Don't know this isn't that Bruce at all. Okay so whoever your voice over Agen that needs to be replaced. That's correct that is correct because sounds like there's a demand out there. There's not being fairly this guy's getting them. Yeah terrible did he. Did you know that he sounded like you when he said they started more like no. He's you probably does voices. He was just a average white. Yeah quote to paraphrase born all right Kevin Neal and his ear. Steven Yates is awesome here. He's in from Connecticut Old Saybrook all Samra Ooh. We'll say saybrook right. That was my horse. I used to have all Sarah. Stay home in March around. What do you call it. What do you get when you do that with a horse. What's that called. Yes thank you the fancy that's is the that's the rhythmic gymnastics of question. What are they doing prancing around all right Kevin Neal unserious tickets. I'm away. He's got a brand new web. Series resolve called hiking with Kevin Alec Baldwin on sure. He's got other people on there. That actually is the third season. This is a brand new season Brenner scene. Yeah you're starting the new season comedy episodes of the season well. The first two were thirty one each thirty one each It's crazy now. I might scale back this time to maybe thirty. Oh yeah that'd make sense right yeah. You're what happens is I run. I run out of people to hike with and season and what happens is in these in the summer around August people. You can't find people hike with because it's too hot and then you got a bank show so you get through the holidays around then you who so you really you know. I started taping these beginning of the summer. I ended season one season two and then I went right into banking show hikes for season three uh-huh and so I got to get maybe five more to get me through.

"Music although maybe but you know there are people who made their the name because of their talent like Howard Stern wasn't just oh just in the right place at the right time he I'm not saying I'm saying guys that these these rock. Dj Right yeah but to agree with your point. If it was I think they avoided the audition question because they they wanted to feel better more important but the reality is like let's say I was five years older or Mike Segal when he ended up. It's an audition process and could have been Mike Segal rail and hunter and then Mike Segal. It'd be like Oh yeah. He's one of the they weren't making decisions on what to play. It was not right just like let's get some younger looking people sort of different look you know kind of a hodgepodge of different types of looks so that we can cover all our bases so mention that go oh yeah you say about. The different looks in a question for him like they did. They talked about wanting thing to have a diverse group of people. What do you think yes and then if what I thought mattered I did. I wouldn't have asked the question and then then it was like what do you think and then you could tell like laid thought the theater and then it's like well. Obviously you know Martha was the perky would and then they tried to pick it up from and there but I like you didn't need down. The question is I guess scrammed and use my overused word of two thousand nineteen that kick rocks those seem to be the new favorites election throw around and we have brought that up a reason figured why I call Mark Levin apologized. I'm glad you did did I call one of them has passed away. Jj Jackson and JJ apparently his career prior to MTV he may deserved to be in there on his own that he did break as a DJ and mark may have to as a program director and deejay around the country but I think Martha and Allen and maybe even need a black but but I think Martha and Alan and I read that book you know huge book on MTV. I think they may have just been you know. One of actors auditioned thing for a Gig and got him and maybe they do not want to. Martha was very forthcoming quite frankly. she's good interview after that. I know we were talking about Hollywood boulevard. Remember why we ended about that's right. They want yeah but still why are we talking about Ricky Rochman. Oh that's why thank you thank you for connecting the dots on this. That's exactly why didn't just all of a sudden. The number to take down teaches us to be a good idea right now our guest by the way it's coming from a table read so they may not be right at right at time. on time we also went yesterday went down to the Melrose swap meet. Okay Yeah. He looks like he would either be a NASA engineer or a middle school shop teacher in the seventies really we know in between the seventies okay and he's got like he can look He looks like John Waters handsome picture the Mike handsome other. I'll take a little less pencil moustache just fuller. I look over when I in fact when I said the thing about the mustache I I I in my head had already given him a pencil moustache. Look over at him. That's a full stash it is that's a full stash. It's a management of that stash and he's not deliver anything by the way I saw one of the greatest things I've ever seen Ed Griffith observatory on Saturday and Jimmy. Nobody's claiming you was not my book. It all started right when you left. Were holding it together. Yeah I think so apparently apparently Wayne Newton met Johnny Carson at a diner Greek nine on Main Street and Bridgeport near my neighborhood to talk about ownership of a Casino Zeno in Las Vegas and I mean that's just and maybe a identities mostly the casino but you know that that's not verified. It's alleged but it's a story that goes around that town because everybody wants to have some important. This otherwise is beaten down bureau so welcome from Old Saybrook Connecticut. Okay and you did the voice the voice and it was on tbs or comedy central but now I'm looking at you because they still have the character. You don't get these podcasts Tia no. Are you kidding other than episode to Yeah. I love that episode. How much sleep do you need right? Yeah about seventeen eighteen hours yeah yeah speaking of which we have our other guests here Joe Cup so is here K. U. S. O. K. you up talking to that thing over over here. Sure you don't have to be so far away from okay all right we all. We need to get to our next guests if that's okay. She's yeah I'm very excited. I've never spoken to one of these before. She's a Jogi. Please welcome to the show Gussie. Oh my gosh thank you so much more need Karen on Gel scholars think he's growing <music> scarlet. These guards is just pure. It's like one syllable TV. Here's what you say you guys into again to be on on a podcast again. You've been on a podcast before I was one so I I work at a yogurt shop and some of the guys I work with. They have a podcast so I was on that. Oh You manage a yogurt shop in your as your main job and then you're a yoga in your spare time well. I thought that Yogi came yogurt. Yeah exactly so that's a comment I like Oh. I thought you meant you date Yoga. That's a good impression by the way remember when we were doing Al Pacino Yeah Yeah. That's almost like that so so it's comes from being in the yogurt shop not from doing yoga like you guys aw you might think that maybe I didn't know what Yogi man. Maybe I should look it up well. Typically Yogi is a <hes> like a yoga like a more of for a spiritual counts. I didn't even know if it had to do with Yoga itself as much as a spiritual I guess it is it's a practitioner of Yoga including a send Niacin Niacin or practitioner meditation Indian religions so I know some of the listeners are probably like Oh. We really wanted to hear something like that. You don't have to put on a voice voice when you're talking about our listeners. We'd like to be respectful of them. They probably are very intelligence and maybe do an intelligent voice so they're like well. We really wanted to listen to you. Know Smarter Smarter like like put on put on heirs. We really wanted to listen in British though that serve others people are smart smarter than so. They're like well. We re here like spiritual stuff. Well guess what that's not what you're going to hear. You're GonNa Hear About Yogurt today. Oh I like yogurt. It's healthier than ice cream. I've always said that about yogurt. How is it healthier when it has bacteria that's true for this is also so again? Our Shop is just yogurt is not frozen or anything just a heads up. It's just tons of yogurt like hot yogurt. How does that stay hot yoga yeah but hot yogurts different thing warm yoga and go? It's warm. It's not hot hot. Oh I see got thick room temp aroo warmer than room. How do you get warmer than chameleon? Maybe you mean normal rooms because your room is actually hotter than normal rooms. Well a little bit yeah. I sure the heat is up. The heat is in next slide and eating yogurt. What does the Appeal of Warm Yogurt so thinks? He's a retired astronaut question <hes>. It's a it's just better. They're that way down easier yet on for also for the bacteria the bacteria is grows in that's good for when you digest but if you if view heat the bacteria out of yogurt. Is it even yogurt anymore. It seems like then it's just I don't even know what yogurt is. It looks like soup so it's like creamy. It's just sugary soup sugar no sugar do you pour it into the cone or do you only have it in a cup. No cones just pulse to Jeff Bread bowls or do you have just normal normal. <hes> plastic bowls a lot of different kinds of breads really just right. They stop you stop. You said you had a lot and then you said Ri- and you and you had an upward inflexion. That made me think Oh. She's starting with a list and then you you just stopped right at right yeah so we got rivals and then you put here you serve it yourself. Okay say style yeah but you'd better tinplate like we served to you. Do you do all the work in the back. Yeah we work really hard. When you say you serve it yourself is the stuff out where customers can get a two hundred? Do they have to go into the back of the store as well. Yeah we keep it in the back by the bathrooms okay or or or lids lids at all so people don't mistake the bathrooms for the yogurt. It's just an open door Fay athere. It's also there in a lot of people well. He's in the bathroom so it's good to have a lot of people use it the better you don't have like a customer only bathroom now. I know the school thought that everybody if you need to go to the bathroom you should have have a place to go to school yeah of course how long time Oh okay yeah never took a day. Did you have perfect attendance in one hundred percent Joseph's school. What's the most popular flavor that you have there? We had thick thick thick era and thin thick thick her and I it seems to me like you would have thin regular thick. They have thick thicker and then okay. Am I allowed in there. He's yeah yeah when for absolutely we are welcoming to all animals every time you're a health code violation. Although it sounds like you have several health code violations going on there so I I'm one of those kinds of bosses. I'm like everybody's like Oh. The boss is so mean. Oh we don't want to do anything because because the boss will yell at US I not kind of boss. You're nice boss boss unlike the boys want to hang. Linda bullies hang these boys. Why are the hanging there my employees Oh all sixteen to eighteen year old boys and I'm like you guys want to go? If you guys need to go they're like I need to go smoke a cigarette unlike go. How many employees do you? You're not a one man operation like Joe over here. There's four boys and then there's me four boys and why are they all sixteen to eighteen. Is that a requirement or those are the taste of people that want to work with yogurt. I've found that a yoga right there in the back I share yet culture. Culture isn't it to culture because the culture so you basically do this or cultural thing where like just people make it in the back yeah so you pour two gallons of milk and then he he stirred up let it's it becomes yogurt don't touch so no one's allowed to touch it. Are there signs to that effect or Oh for sure because we don't go in the bathroom. We don't need you touch unless you're serving okay. Has Anyone gone to the bathroom and served at the same time Dave third and then got in there but they're not that close where they could be sitting there on the toilet while they're serving the he.
Naked Labs' 3-D Body Scanner Shows You the Naked Truth
"Goes way beyond a normal scale the startup naked labs has now. Made a three body scanner with a. Full length near that people can buy for their homes the first of, its kind it? Delivers information on your body things like weight? Height, BMI measurements the company just raised fourteen million dollars led by the. Venture capital, firm founders fund and signed Bannister one of the firms more recent partners and an early Uber and. SpaceX investor joins us now here in the studio great to. Have, you on the show so is. This something that you. Imagine everyone would have in their homes like a? Scale or is this a more niche, use case originally the goal is. To have, it, in every home to begin, with you, know it's going to be the person who buys a. Politician who's really cares a lot about personal fitness and so the price. Point is higher to start off way well it's thirteen hundred dollars a scale it's more. Like twenty Okay televisions when they first started out they were in twenty three thousand dollars for the flat screen. TV's you know if you're a pioneer in the space and someone who's an early adopter you're paying more but eventually. We can drive the price down scale. How does the technology actually work has sensors that actually do depth reading, and so you? Stand on the scale and you put your? Arms, onto any tried it I haven't tried to get a highly recommend. One highly, recommend trying it we'll try to hook you up with doing one but you basically stand on a. Pedestal the pedestals turns around then afterwards in about a minute. You, get what looks like a silver. Surfer image of yourself Image and they're able to see, a three d. model of yourself so talk to me about the potential here the kinds of. Information that this can give you? At how, it might change, your life or how you live it well you know I think that we are scale obsessed and we're obsessed with. Numbers that don't really ultimately matter, for your health and so on a scale and you're like gosh I'm two, pounds heavier five pounds heavier ten pounds heavier but. You're. Working out at the gym and, you're making dietary changes those changes are actually really matter and so when you, actually get a three d. body skin you can see what those choices, are actually how, they're impacting your body like sometimes when you work. Out you're gaining weight and so you might become discouraged if you discount? On the scale every day what about the privacy issues here I mean we're so concerned. Especially in light of the Facebook data scandals what, companies know about it. About us how they are using that data if, they're being honest about it if they. Even know where data has gone naked labs takes that very seriously and that's what it reasons why all of this Ganz are done on device, and then the only thing that's only stored there Does not go back to the company the only thing that you. Get back to the company is that little silver server surfer image of yourself so join founders filing now a couple of years. Ago and you an angel investor before that you've backed Uber? You, back. SpaceX what do you think. Are the big mega trends right now oh gosh Well I know what I'm personally, passionate about I don't know that I follow the market and try to figure. Out what the biggest trends are but. I'm personally very passionate. About the future of entertainment and so, I've been doing a lot of investing in that area and so I've. Been, turning over rocks and basically I? Don't know, if you've heard of like hot, tuning Mieko which is a burchell popstar and? She's a hologram billions of people watch her but also there's little, Michaela on Instagram she's a virtual influencer so I did a? Seed investment there, and so there's things that, I'm looking at and trying to figure out okay what is the next Pokemon go you know read an interface with our phones how is augmented reality going to impact us and so there's. Just things I'm really excited you invested in Uber do you think scooters are the next big thing or. Not I think personally my personal opinion is no but I do think they are necessary for certain people like people are really. Happy about them and their cost effective affordable way to get? Around town Have ask you about Nealon since you invested in space it's tesla earnings day founders fund back tesla Does that. Concern you at all that, this is he's running two companies. He's got a lot of side projects he's tweeting all the? Time including right now minutes before called does, that concern you as an investor from an. Execution perspective, we're pretty bullish on Ilan as you, know we're very proud of, everything that, he's accomplished and yes it is a lot to take on but I think that he's. You know showing that he. Can do it But you know I don't speak to? On on a day-to-day basis I actually don't, even know the breadth of everything he's doing. What about, bitcoin founders fund has made big bets, on crypto currency which is, you know, it's actually been an unusual turn Venture in. General do you think, that are, you still bullish and do you expect to, make more investments they're given the volatility in the price I mean. I know everyone's excited about. Blockchain but let's talk. About the value of team we are. Still bullish personally I'm also still bullish so I I don't know if you know the term but I hold, on for dear life as a. Store of value I think it's incredibly valuable it's basically digital gold it's not the best way to transact and so. I think there's going to be other types of currencies.
