Behind Trump's Lies

"When you look at our neighbors compared to what's going on in Europe and other places but we're doing well choice between trump boom and biden lockdown. He wants to lock down the country dismantle your police departments, dissolve our borders borders, they want open borders I think every single low enforcement group in the countries endorses we gave you the biggest tax cut in history by far and Biden is proposing the biggest tax hike in history. So. All of that was wrong and Ashley on your part. You just did a deep dive on veterans choice and how the President again wrongly claims credit for that and insists on it and will continue to apparently how do we live in this era? How do you as a White House correspondent cover this president what do you have to hold it against? Well I I think this looking at those two stories mine in the Times The Times took the macro looking at all of them. This truth one rally I sort of buried in on the micro in what we describe as an anatomy of a singular live very briefly, this is the president signed an update to be choice known as the mission acts. The did expand Va Choice But va choice was passed and signed under Barack Obama was co sponsored. By John McCain and even the mission act that trump past was officially named after John. McCain but trump has gone in and basically said, he did the a choice Obama had nothing to do with it. John McCain didn't have anything to do with it. So one way we cover it was to really drill down and explain ventures that he was telling this falsehood this lie but the reasons why he's doing it because he is surrounded by aides to enable him. On willing and able to tell him the truth in one of the reasons he does it is because of the psychology of lives, which is the more they repeated the more they start to feel true in one striking thing I found was that the RNC, the Republican convention, a number of speakers were drafting their speeches. They told the speechwriters in the president's team they wanted to put a line about what? Donald Trump had done NBA choice because they actually believed what he was saying he'd gotten it. So the either the they believed this falsehood in Bay, wanted to repeat it themselves. So that's why the president doesn't because it is proof stunningly effective for him in the way we grapple with it is, is we write about it in tell this story in in many different ways graphically on with words in e

"Through. This is such a big conversation got because if I just Wantto NBA Championship of the World Series I'm celebratory. I'm happy. I want to be with my teammates and my brothers. I get all that that's all I'm saying. I'm not asking Roberts to make that decision. I'm not asking clean curse on to make a decision. Baseball wasn't going to take a dude out who celebrate with his team J. They took about the game but taking them out of the game. The game is over. We're out of the bubble. Now. The game is over. Not out of the bubble. Just doing the bubble celebrating the game. No have to worry about whether or not we gotta postpone the game you do afterwards is over. Talking about it today, and it will be a conversation that will happen to all media. I'm not saying that it's not going to be a conversation that needs to be had. I'm not saying that what I am saying Simple is the Major league Baseball is not going to take him off to feel from celebrating with his teammates when when the season is over, and nothing else is left. To jeopardize what Woody. There's nothing else left to jeopardize people's health that they don't care at that moment about you think about that. They don't care about people's health. I'm telling you at that moment, saying the containment of it, they're not going to remove him from celebrating. You just OK? They're not gonna celebrate. That's why they didn't show anything. So we have removed from the game. Yes, Quarantine After the game is removed from the game is over. Say the Dodgers lose. The game is over. What if the Dodgers lose right? They lose the game. They lose again. Now, all of a sudden, there were 56 of seven people in a second. If the Dodgers lose game or is he still saying quarantine? Wait, listen to me go if the Dodgers lose the game And all of a sudden they don't have enough players because everybody's started to test positive. Now Major League Baseball got canceled game for several days or whatever the case, maybe that's a different conversation. The season's over days like everybody ready to go home Now, I just think you're treading down.

Resilient Leadership in Anxious and Uncertain Times

"Welcome to extraordinary women radio Christine. I am so excited to have you join me today. I know this is going to be so much fun. You and I are long long time Pals and I am just thrilled to have you hear me to thank you for having me. Yeah, and you've got so many interesting stories. I know you're going to be sharing with us today. We we've talked a little bit about this direction that we're going to go in and and I know that you were sitting in meditation this week actually thinking about you know, what is it that wants the flow through you and this week on this conversation and I love first of all you were doing that because that's there's so much Beauty and stopping & pausing and listening to that inner wisdom that's there for us to find jobs then being able to hear Hear that message that that bubbles up and I know you and I have had many many conversations about this and what I know it came up for you was accepting when it's time to Pivot off and I love this first of all, and it's it's funny because any of my listeners are going to go wait a minute you've been talking about it's not about the pivot and sometimes it's not about a pivot in this crazy or sometimes. We really have to stand in our truths and and who we are and just show up and serve our our people and at the same time there's definitely times and places. Where would we need to Pivot? And I know that's a theme that has been showing up for you for multiple years in different ways. You've been very courageous and brave and how you should up in your pivot should tell us a little bit. Why you think that's the topic that came it came up for you on this. Sometimes we don't know what's going to come up right part of it makes no true. Right right opening to The Unknown. So this definitely wasn't coming from you know, this song theoretical analytical part of my brain now, I will say I may have been influenced because I've been watching the NBA finals and you know, there's there's a pendant in basketball who knows that that had anything to do with the it's okay. So I'm going to add you on that because guess what I used to play basketball in high school and we had the best coach we're off we had he taught us how to Pivot and this really strong space where we when we pivot we pivot with our body and we'd hold the ball in front of us and we'd pivot which keeps you safe from them, you know, having a foul or anything like that. There's such strength in that so I'm just going to let that keep moving off of that that theme you know, and as you know in basketball, you can't pivot all the time off. Like to your point there's a time in the game when you strategically go up on you know, you always leave one foot on the ground right when you pivot right? You're not home, right? Very good. You think about like you leave that one foot and then you literally can pivot 360 degrees with a ball and I say there is wisdom in knowing when to let go off all and win to let come what needs to come into your life. And so for some reason that seems to be the overriding theme that came through Thursday. So tell us some of your I know you've got multiple stories of pivoting. Where do you want to start share a little share a little share a bit about you and just your journey that's gotten you to this point. I know you've built this amazing incredible company and I'm always so proud of the work that you know, you are doing in the world. I just go look at the work you're doing and I'm very exciting. For you, but you have a you have some some big pivots you've made. Very much. So and I was thinking all the way back to 1994. So somebody do the math. You'll figure out that that was a long time ago. And at that point I was living in San Francisco that place of my dreams. I had the dream job working in Corporate America and knowing that this was I thought this is it off. This is where I'm going to be and a pivot came and that pivot brought me to Denver where I transitioned from my corporate career, which was advertising sales in the high tech magazine publishing industry. I pivoted to being a stay-at-home mom and I would put those in quote stay at home because I don't know any mom who stays at home and I certainly didn't wage and for a number of years. I took a detour from my professional career to raise three children by kept one foot in the professional world all the time whether it was dead, Marketing Consulting sales, I even became a book publishing coach at at some time

How Will Stan Van Gundy Fit With the Pelicans?

"Was a few weeks ago in the ringer NBA show that at the very tail end of the show I recall you saying. Keep an eye out for Stan van Gundy and New Orleans and since we last spoke That came to fruition Stan Van Gundy was hired by David Griffin and the New Orleans Pelicans I think when this all started with the pelicans ouster of Alvin gentry. Through the. Face Tyler had a former relationship with David. Griffin, we talk about my Tony possibly because he had a former relationship via the Phoenix Suns with David Griffin but they do land on Stan van, Gundy as their next head coach when you saw that news come across the wire, would you think great I'm happy I think he could bring some accountability to the team in terms of how much they need it on the defensive end of the floor they were horrific. On defense this season in San Andy. Of course, infamously famously I'm not sure once said build an effing wall and that the Pelicans need to do and I look forward to see what he can do now that he's back in the NBA but by the way like he failed in Detroit because he was coach. Angie 'em now he's just a coach right and he was always a good coach. He was good basketball coach and it was one of those cautionary tales of. It is two different skill sets number one it also in many cases can be two different motivations right if I am if I am the general manager and the coach now let's say I make a poor signing or a poor usage of money will sometimes I may want to use that guy to prove that I was right about this guy right and I know that you Still get into that with with a front offices and coaches anyway, right in in everybody wants to be responsible everybody wants to be right about the move they made. But when you then you're not doing the scouting of every other team on a regular basis, I know you have scouts you're certainly not doing that with college, but it's just a very hard job to do twofold and. Another cautionary tale of taking that over I mean everybody wants that power but I think we've seen two of these guys. Now fact three of these guys. Now, all of which I think you would say were subpar to very below average in that role but. We respect them as guys that are on the sidelines as basketball coaches. That is their expertise in that is doc rivers who took on that role Tom Thibodeau who took on that role and Stan Van Gundy who took on that role and yet got hired as coaches though it didn't go well at their last stops. I mean doc better than the other two but we thought. Hires because these guys are good basketball coaches who were miscast trying to run everything for sure absolutely and ultimately it's another good opportunity for him when New Orleans area there even though they have Zion, they have ingram granted these a restricted free agent. He'll likely back matched any offer sheet or whatever This is still sort of A. Team right now that can go in many different directions depending on how David Griffin wants to build it out and I look forward to seeing the ways in which Van Gundy, Utilize Zion and the ways in which he tries to get him going off because remember you know before all the three point shooting, we've seen the last ten years or so that has. Exploded with the warriors and the rockets and all these teams shooting lot of threes, the magic, Dwight Howard at center and four shooters around him in the late two thousands with anti head coach and they went to a finals. We're going to be lost to Kobe and the Lakers The had some good run they some really strong teams and in with Williamson. With the New Orleans Pelicans, I know they want to add another they don't want to go like all small Wall. With Zion at the five all the time it's it's just went to work but I, think van Gundy's pasts and what he could do now with this roster, it's kind of exciting to think about the possibilities with the different ways in which they can use ion but most importantly though and again, this is like with all the coaching hires we talk about I am more interested in the personnel changes who they draft, who do they try to trade for? Who Do they try to sign I am WHO's coaching the team, but you know I'm excited to see if they're able to get. Zion, going and creative ways that they weren't able to do as much during the season despite his success he posted up a lot man I. WanNa see some more pick and roll with Zion I wanNA see some more creativity with him, handling the ball and running pick and roll, and that will largely come from other personnel changes that come to the roster that allow that to happen. But Hey, man SVG had success with some different types of teams in the past and I look forward to seeing what he can do here with him, and that team has a good roster they under performed badly. Made sometimes teams underperformed because you look at their roster and you go man aol have the goods like that team underperformed I. Think so too. I think of course it I mean look I mean Lonzo I think Lonzo hit one shot in the bubble well, even though they're young that defense was bad even though they had good individual defenders, they've jrue holiday one of the best perimeter guard defenders, Ingraham and Lonzo. They were good defenders of the Lakers. They were the last two years. They were good. They were not good defenders last season with New Orleans. And Zion I, mean he was horrific. He was so bad on defense. It was it was really sad to watch. This is the guy who is blocking three point shots closing out from the opposite side of the paint at Duke just a year prior, which is why people wonder how much of it was fatigue coming back but season how much of it was the injury limiting him how much of it was effort I? Don't know I don't know what it was but regardless. He stunk on defense, and all of this needs to change next season for this team to be anything that have any chance of actually getting into the playoffs it can't be all

The new recommendations come from the US preventative, services, Task Force, which is basically a team of doctors and experts who set health guidelines for Americans. The tasker says, colon cancer seems to be affecting more and more adults at a younger age. It's been trending that way for several years. Doctors are not exactly sure why but they say earlier screening would likely save lives if the guidelines are officially finalized by this panel that would mean screenings for those forty five up would be covered by most private insurance plans with no co-pay. NBA Big Board: Kevin O'Connor

"Kevin O'Connor the ringer housing ranked number one on his big board. I can't find any teams that have in there. But I'd love that Kevin did that I I like thinking outside the box I think he makes some really good arguments about why Hayes. Could be that Guy I. Don't think that we're going to see him go a number one and I'm not sure that we'll see I don't think we'll see him go in the top three, but he's fair game. Pretty much anywhere after that and again much like in tires Halliburton's case it little bit I the beholder. He's got off so many strengths going for him and I the big thing that you hear when you talk. To Scouts about Killian haze over and over again is just they love how much he has improved his game how much he's worked on his game how he shown up and become a much better player over time and when you look at young players, you wanna see them evolving. You WanNa see them growing. You want to see them adding to their game and there's just been so much. Of that for Kilian Hayes this year that if you want to talk yourself into Hayes, you talk yourself into now that he faces NBA level competition. What sort of things and wrinkles is he going to add to his game? How is he going to adapt and how much better could he be down the road because he's got the size excels with a ball in his hands he's. Really committed defender he's got hike. He's a high character player. You know that lack of like elite burst or balance is is an issue He's left hand drama net that's an issue is shooting a looks gray. It doesn't always go in and you know he shot around thirty. Thirty percent from the field from three point on this year. But he was eighty seven percent a free throw shooter I think for. He might not be the first international player off. Off The board? Because I denny Adia is is a possibility to go ahead of him, but he's definitely going to be one of the top two international players off the board and right now having ranked slightly higher than Denny.

Mark Jackson is the reason why Mark Jackson isn’t an NBA head coach

"Joe. Lake. Up after mark was let go had a bunch of quotes This was one of them that I found co part of it was that he couldn't get along with anybody else in the organization and look you did a great job. I'll always compliment him mini respects but you. Can't have two hundred people in the organization, not like you. Okay. and he said when I say the organizations whole I don't just mean the team just fifteen players that are involved in the coaching staff I mean everybody there's two hundred employees here. So we look at the organization going forward and the kind of coach we want and not just the performance everything else all these factors matter. We took all of that into account. So we have the player part of it. We have the owner part of it. We knew the front office didn't like him when one of the assistance. was busted for recording Jackson in meetings to play for the front office, which again that actually becomes a pro mark Jackson part of it. The Mark Jackson staff was not good enough the ownership in front office told him repeatedly, the staff is good. Enough Mark said we have the best staff going he and scalping apparently got into it and scalloping he was reassigned the front office didn't like that part of it. So we have the players have the staff we have the ownership we have the front office. Let's also talk about some of the other stuff that's just let's face it. Weird Jackson's Amana Faith I. Don't question anyone's faith. I just say to you leave me alone and I'll do my thing That's the way I've always operated and that rubs people wrong way when he was a head coach but also would find time to get to La whenever he had a convenient off day to go and do that. It's tough to tell a man of faith. Hey, you know what don't be that interested in God? That's that's an almost impossible conversation but if I was at ESPN or anywhere and said, Hey, you know what? I can't watch football this weekend. Because I have this higher calling eventually it worked they'd be like, Hey, you know what? Man Like this is all part of the job being availalbe around is very difficult in tough thing to navigate as I'm not even hundred percent comfortable doing it but I'd have to say employer at the time being frustrated by it actually makes a little bit of sense and I think there's other things that just bumped people out when curry had his ankle issues he was brought up in it was kind of a playful thing curry's brought up they put the holy oil on his ankle and. Jackson's wife at the time and Pete Jackson was like look like he had chronic ankle problems and now he doesn't. So you figure it out. That's one of those things where people like wait what Jackson also had some issues off the core where he was caught up extortion deal and I'm not even really getting on his case for that because I think a lot of things happen to people that are public figures that goes on normal people's lives. But the public figure becomes the of jokes on and on and on. He also said when asked about Jason Collins availability years ago. He said not in my locker room. So it came off as if he was a homophobe because there's evidence that he is, and then when he was asked to clear that up, he said look I know Jas I know his family and I'm praying for them right now. Hey, man you save your fucking prayers. Okay. That's the kind of stuff that just doesn't play no matter who you are and I think the. Most important part of all of this because I guess I'm still maybe a little surprised that he doesn't have a job because other people have been on TV and not been great on. TV. I've looked at other coaches that haven't had great runs and there's been plenty of people that have gotten second chances by the way both black and white. So when I see people out raged that he's been blackballed or as. Shannon Sharpe said White Bald or Kendrick Perkins recently, just saying like all of these things that I just going off on the idea that Mark Jackson doesn't have job it really feels like, okay. Are you informed and but yet you've made up your mind decided not to change your mind or are you uninformed and I think so many people screaming about this or like Oh wait that's right. You know maybe either moments you had just now listening to this like Oh, that's right. I've nothing personal against Mark Jackson. He's one of my favorite college basketball players of all time all-time. You guys know how huge of a Saint John's Fan I am and I actually was you know as a little kid be like dude I can't believe he's going this late in the draft is GonNa be awesome and he was awesome in the knicks I felt so vindicated I was. Like and I could refer team right one day I love Mark Jackson and I was right. But when I listened to him on the broadcast Van Gundy I, think him being on the broadcast Van Gundy chances of getting a job because if I was worth a half a billion dollars or more and had the opportunity to own a team or owned a team right now and I'd go. Van Gundy's on all of these little things like, Hey, look at how they blind me Anthony Davis on free throws already have them on the other side of the court. So he can seal for Deepak smaller offender will there be an adjustment. Hey, what's going on with the substitution? Hey, this rule's actually wrong. Why are they doing it? This Way Jeff Van Gundy will say, here's Hey Jason tatum something's wrong with him. He's the first pointed out it happens multiple times every single broadcast Jeff Van Gundy is easily the best NBA analyst in the game right now. Mark doesn't do any of those things and I. Don't know if that's just him not being comfortable in that role but he's a coach. He's a former player and he doesn't do any of those things. He'll say, Hey, this guy's not just a great score. He's a great individual. He's a human being. Okay. So and so doesn't get enough credit for shooting. Okay. In everything is results based. If the shot goes in, it was a great shot at the shot doesn't go in Hey, that's the guy that shouldn't be taking the shot. It's very. It's very minimal depth and when. You have people that make these decisions. You're almost instead of looking at the resume in Golden State which is on its surface again resume. You'd say Yeah. What like six years? Nicholas gives Scott his shot young team garnered play defense that's hard to do. But I think being next to Jeff. When Jeff runs circles around him on the broadcast. It it might remind go wait why why is this one guy way better talking about the game than the other guy so I think the best thing market do would not be on the broadcast with Jeff and who knows what might happen. So I just think the more we look at it and hey man trust me this is not white guy decide to push back on racism segment because I've. Probably done with those the rest of my life. I'm seeing specific to this one because the NCAA numbers are atrocious. The ABC's the head coaching. Diversity that we have in the pro sports leagues still is not what it needs to be I'm not pushing back on any of those things. But when it comes specific to mark Jackson, there are the informed in the uninformed, and hopefully if you've resisted this, you're more informed now.

UniqDNA on God of War - S03 E15

"I finally pressed play on God of Which W ar. one, 3? this one the last one that oh the newest one. Yeah. I bought it on sale and just never played it. But everybody was telling me it was amazing, but at the time I just didn't have the time. So I was like, you know I don't have anything to do right now finally jumped in and started playing it. I like took 2 hours and okay, but yeah, I like it so far. I mean it's God of W ar in my opinion is not any different from the other three, so far so far, obviously the improved graphics and you know. I heard you can't jump i n this one though. From what I can tell it doesn't seem like it it's more often like I don't know. It's more like action adventure style. But yeah now that you mentioned it. I don't think they don't think you can jump. Can you? So it's like everything is like push button actions like you walk up to a ledge and like press square or whatever or like you walk up to a rope and like press Circle. But yeah, there is now that you say that yeah, I don't remember any jumping I heard heard the combat, now I've never played God of War so but I've heard that combat was very different especially with the lack of jumping and it's not I don't want to say it's qte action, but it's kind of similar? It has a bit of that like the, the block and parry system. That's kind of, you know, counter-attack system is kind kind of QTE but for the most part is I mean all the God of Wars button are basic mashers. But this one is a little less less button mashery , but it's still there. From what I've seen. It's strategic button Mashery. Y eah, it's a little more strategic. It's more like, you know, you got your power hit, power attacks, your regular quick attacks. And then you got got your pa rry and counter-attack. But yeah, it's I really don't see what the hype was all I'm about. gonna get a lot of heat. It's after 3 change, games people and are gonna hate because it's different. Yeah, but I really see like everybody everyone when it first came out everybody was like , you gotta get you gotta get you God gotta of War get God of War and I'm like, okay, I'll get it eventually, but you know, it's it's amazing it's the best game ever like, you know, that was kind of like the commentary and. Of course. Yeah. I don't really see like I'm kinda glad I didn't rush to get it. pay Or full price for it. Right? Exactly cuz I'm like umm it's not all that different from the other ones graphic wise yeah I guess the story is more fleshed out so far but you know, the Cinematic sequences and all that stuff. But I mean, that's what happens. when you go from you know, what was that PS2 to PS3? I mean PS3 to PS4. You should expect that. Yeah, everything will be improved If it's . not then it's crappy game to begin with. So yeah, I know probably get a lot of hate but I don't care because well, it's like a two-year-old game. Anyway. Yeah, like it's they gave you offer people. Yeah. Come on, let's let's be real with this.

"Fifteen throwback industries making a comeback this year. Why am I, sharing this with you? Well, for those of you that are thinking about that entrepreneurial venture that you've always kind kicked around your head, you don't have a whole lot of ideas maybe no winning idea yet for some of you who are looking for just a side Hustle to dip your toe in the water to see do I wanna work for myself or do I just want to make some extra money here are fifteen throwback industries making a comeback and this? Is. So. Heartwarming. This is from business insider I. Love this list. Nathan. This is so good. The first one drive in movies this has been great. Obviously cove is kind of forced this onto us, but the drive in movies are great. Especially if you're classic car guy like me and you got the convertible classic car and you got the awesome lady to watch the movie with that's fun puzzles about puzzles. Now, I personally have never been a big jigsaw puzzle guy mainly because I lose interest quickly but I've taken on many. Not, completed very many but that's fun and by the way great creative outlet for kids I laughed when I saw this one, Joe Roller Skating he you know I get some great memories from the eighties at Roller Skating rinks leave it at that but it was never good roller skater stationary now actually very much excites me. Andrea, Bell. Is the director of insights at a trend forecasting company commented on this for town and Country Magazine on the rebirth of the boom of stationary. Again, she said everyone is experiencing digital fatigue. So we are turning into tangible things. And this is very exciting to see handwritten notes. The stationary returning by the way stationary is is great not just because it's allowing you to to handwrite things which I'm just such a big believer in, but also the personal style that you can add to the personal note board games are back on a big board Game Maniac I love Board Games. The reason this is significant is because it involves community and. When we're playing board games we're looking at each other we're talking to each other were listening to each other we're laughing with each other we're competing with each other. Hopefully, we're not arguing with each other, but I will tell you many Coleman, when I was growing up with my brother he and I would compete to the death even over a board game. So there are many times while my dad had to say dudes. Chill out but great memories their role through the rest of these really quick bread baking Genn very labor intensive activity. But a lot of craftsmanship, their house plants, Arcade Games, bicycles, getting out, exercising, and feeling the fresh air inflatable pools. As a dad I have a love hate relationship with inflatable pools lots of love setting it up. Kids are excited about it, filling it up. Kids are excited. You get to watch him play the minute they're done with it. The hate comes out for the DADS right? Because then you got an empty, the stupid thing ruins, your lawn gotta dry that nasty money thing out and put it up. So there you go I get some therapy on that issue video games I I didn't understand how this made the list. I really didn't because in my world with three kids. Video Games didn't go way but I think more adult probably playing video games that I will tell you confess that I have one video game I love playing I did love playing madden, which is the football and the NBA live with my boys until they started to destroy me. At after I would get whipped every time Joe I decided I'm not interested in getting my teeth kicked in every time I play my boys. So I've gone to video game golf and so places a great and so I can zone out for about twenty five thirty minutes rarely does this happen? But every once in a while and the kids are all doing something dad likes to go up there and play eighteen holes of golf and it is very relaxing. I must say so all for that surfing. Vinyl records very exciting that vinyl records and trading cards. The last two of the fifteen things let me tell you why like that. Joe. You know this Madison. This is a word she doesn't even understand. I think Nathan gets his little mass. There's some ageism going on here. Poor Madison is that anything vintage? I'm in. I don't even have to have a personal interest in it but if you talk to me about vintage or show me something vintage, I'm very intrigued by and so the baseball trading cards. Football cards, all these sports cards coming coming back. And the vital records I've always. I've always loved the good vinyl record so. Joe, if, you're looking for that hard to get Chris President for me record player I think would be good.

Closing Out the NBA Bubble With Malika Andrews

"So Melita. Today is the day where are we reaching you right now for the listener if you could describe what's around you what you're looking at potentially I suppose the last time. I'm in my hotel room at the Grand Destino. Coronado Springs. Hotel. And this has been my my room, my home, my apartment for the last one, hundred, seven days Melita Andrews has been inside the NBA bubble as long as any other member of the media. It feels like moving I'm down to the bits and bobs that are no longer fun like the half eaten bag of Doritos did I want to decide what I want to do with and the? Is that I have to decide really to these need to stay or go but I only have about two hours until I am getting picked up. And then you will be back among us out years. So Melita as. The most successful covert related experiment in America comes to an end. What's the current status of the bubble? Now are people still abiding by all the protocols yesterday officially, the bubble quote unquote burst and it means a green yellow and red zone which coordinates to the colors of our credentials. So previously where I was staying was all green, which was the first tier, wear players, referees, select media, members, coaches, MBA staff were, and those folks got tested every day when the Lakers won that became more squishy because the governor's owners or whatever you want to call them like Guinea boss who was in yellow were able to come down onto the court, the agents and family members and thinking of folks like rich Paul. Who had watched the championship in yellow were then to come into the Green Zone to party all night long with the Los Angeles Lakers this hotel opens to the public tomorrow while so we're literally the last people in here. There are maybe half a dozen MBA staff trying to make sure that. is getting figured out I actually went to the package to check for one more package and it was like last packages for Lebron James Lacks packages for Jimmy Butler last. For, Andrews. Melinda Adams all lined up sort of all in one area. So. Melinda when the bubble burst yesterday, my producer said. Oh Melita. You are not going to be ready. And she's right I'm not. What Melinda was referring to what she was warning you about is what it's like on the outside he yeah. Well, because everything when I first got here, there were a lot of folks who joked. When you got out of quarantine you served your time Oh, your your time is up. And that always bothered me mainly because when you look at the prison systems in the United, states that has been a hotbed for corona virus in many cases because people are in such close quarters and so. They couldn't be more different than the discomfort that folks who are incarcerated here in the united. States are going through as they're battling covid and what that means. People keep asking me here I get texts from my family I get it from the people who are checking us out. Are you so excited to go home I think when I came down here for months ago there was a real hope that I had that it would sort of be like this machine I would go in, get spit back out on the other side and things would be different. Country Standpoint of where we at with CORONA VIRUS AND That anxiety. Is. Still there.

Los Angeles Lakers Win NBA Finals 106-93 Over Miami Heat

"Lebron James finally saw his Hollywood dreams come true after two seasons of being there. He's brought a title back to the Los Angeles Lakers in not simple fashion they had to. Put up a fight against the Miami Heat who who fought valiantly. But in the end, they lost one game in each round and two games in the finals there champions obviously, Anthony Davis arrival. There has made a huge amount of difference but the you can spread a lot of credit around for the Lakers including a guy named John Rhonda who in my mind was the difference in the series. And now, of course, Lebron ended the game by saying At the ceremony respect for everybody and I want my damn respect

Glen Clark discusses tips for getting sponsorship opportunities

"Glen this is going to be the tip the cue for your lips to move welcome to mind your own business. Oh, thank you very much hip each mirror. Really appreciate being asked to be part of this today. All this is the fun one we are so excited to have you. I'm so excited to be here. This is great. And before we dive into the Sponsorship Rainbow Skip I, love how you put that by the way. Glenn, give us a bit more information fill in some of the holes as far as your background and how you got started and how you ended up doing what you're doing today. Sure at loved you. Well, we can take a bit of a trip in the way back machine. I fell in love with photography in high school. Now, I know that's a long time ago. But when I got my first Polaroid camera and realized I can do double exposures and be creative I fell in love. And it's been a lifelong love affair with a camera. And it progressed from there. Now, I happen to be in high school and graduated during the height of the Vietnam. War which was a challenge for many of us I did go to college right after Right, after I graduated from high school and while I was at college from first year. Why should preface this by saying in the summer between High School and college they did what's known as the draft at least it was known as the draft back then and unlike the NFL or the NBA, this is not a good draft. This is a draft where you are selected for service in the armed forces in at this time it was. An opportunity to travel to. Vietnam. And those of you that didn't live through this period of time. It was a very contentious very. I Dunno maddening upheaval of everything that we had been taught as young people. I mean we were into. Recycling and reusing. Love and peace and all this kind of thing and it was it was a different time. Not Not, to do those things now, but it was it was time of challenge. So when I went to college from first year in realized the my draft number that was selected that summer was too. Not to. Not, not hundred two it was too. So I was pretty well assured of the fact that I would be traveling to Southeast Asia unless I had a valid reason not to so. I decided to study photography. I left the four year university I was attending I returned home to go to Dina College, which is A. A two year opportunity at the time had a really robust photography program. And I got into studying photography while there and while I was studying I got employment as a lab worker in photographer for a wedding photographer that did vote service weddings for ninety nine dollars and we would. Literally twenty or thirty weddings a weekend I myself. Photograph four, five, six them starting Friday night and going through Sunday evening. During the week and go to school during the day. So, immersed myself in photography eventually, I was fortunate enough to connect with. Larry, how evolved the owner of based photo in he and I had several conversations and he said I don't really have a job for you but I'll bring you on kind kinda have to make your own way

"If you're a player how do you build through? How do you go through with this? What are you want if you're player van? I don't know how good you were who, but if you're if you're a basketball player. Where do you thinking about in this? Man Look I i. think it was a couple of nights ago. I. Think George Hill. Howson George Hill Talk Right. And he was he was talking about the fact that he didn't really did feel like they should be playing anyway with their anyway and I was I was listening to listen to him. He doesn't want to be there. I'M looking at him right and they wanted to talk about the game. He's talking about the game, but he's also emoting in a very in a very real way. He's. Conflicted and not conflicted but angry about the position that he's in not that anybody made him play. Anyone compelled him to be somewhere that he didn't want to be but this is weighing on his mind. By. It's it's something that he's thinking of. So imagine being sort of in that position. Not We all gotta go to work. We're not. We're not. We're not. We're not treating NBA players as if there's some sort of special UNICORNS we're not. But. We also some of us is society don't have the burden to be as directly outspoken on these issues. As we do a celebrities do as high profile individuals do so they can't think about basketball they're thinking about all of these different things and it's got to be tough and it's also got to be tough plan on a bit court that says black lives matter wearing a black lives matter t shirt wearing a slogan on the back of Your Jersey all it is, and then when you turn on your TV after the game drained, it's happened again. Am I going through the motions or I'm having an effect? Because there's a part of this. That can be that can be it can sort of be looked at at if you're a player as am I doing something that's making all of this more palatable to Americans right am I out there playing, give them giving them escapism giving them. All of this stuff with society has an earned it. You know what I mean, and you don't WanNa feel complicit in that and I'm not saying the eagles guys do I'm just saying I'm sure part of them feel like, no why would I give you something to watch on a on a Wednesday night when this manages just eight in the back, just fix this and then you can watch some basketball and I'm not mad at that and especially with with black minute women in all the pronouns being African Americans. We have to deal with not just working, but also working with that trauma on a daily basis right? We have to work with dealing with. Doing the best that our job but also thinking about what's going on in the world and you know van is van Leith in right. But he's also nobody cares about that. When he walked down the street right you're still a black man I'm still a black man to we still have to deal with these things and. Kyri. Gary. Urban brought up this conversation before they were going here. Bought, it was a distraction that you know. They're coming back to play and coming back to work amid all this stuff than I i WanNa get to your opinion Robert I want to get this to van. You believe that it was a distraction to go back in here and I can't say. I'll we're all here because we love the NBA. Rob Loves NBA Logos. NBA NBA can't say. because. The reality is that just an I bombed out. I'm super excited like I said I bummed out that I'm not GonNa Watch Lebron close out the trail blazers tonight. Sure. And at the time, that's sports was coming back. Was it did it not feel like Elixir for me Personally, I watched baseball. Make them on who does that. Mean so so so like you know I can't say I can't say whether or not. It was a distraction I. Don't think that it was, but I can't be sure I know right now. The players feeling like they need to do more I'm completely on the side of that now I don't disagree with High Rethinking That's distraction, but I can't say whether it was or whether it wasn't I just don't know. Because a feelings that they have now is a feelings that they had before the bubble riot and this suggests cops just going to stop killing black people in the streets. Not. They're not gonNA stop doing that anytime soon. I just don't see. What more we can do right now, and that's that's why I'm kind of. Pessimistic about a season happening right because. Nothing's really changed since George Floyd die or got killed right there's nothing that has changed. Do you see. Do you see them coming back anytime soon rob I think there will be some kind of intermediate resolution having it on video makes a lot of difference put putting in front of People's faces and saying this is irrefutable. You can think whatever you think about Oh he had. He did this and his past, which is irrelevant piece of information. You see what police did to him in the street other. People witnesses in front of them what are the cops doing when there aren't cameras when we aren't looking and I think what's meaningful about this situation we can't take the Milwaukee piece out of this the fact that the bucks the nearest the most proximal team to the shooting itself is important but this is a group that has some skin game. This is a team that plays in the most segregated city in America. A city that they represent a now have to go home to, and the fact that they're the team that's leading the charge on this I think it's meaningful. I can see that I just. As we're as we're again, this is a fluid pod shrive blakely of NBC Sports Boston just said that both teams from the Celtics and the Raptors are leaning towards not playing game one of their series and you that is a huge deal of going forward. So I don't know you got any last words van. What do you think? We love the NBA Yes, we love the NBA. We love watching the NBA is been great to see some of the storylines that have come out of bubble. Bobble basketball has been great in fantastic we it's felt like. For A moment that we were back to some.

"All that stuff is true. It's very early in the season. I get it football still happening. People are probably still really you know thinking about the cowboys more than they are about the Mavs but it does feel like it's more difficult to make the case as to why you need to take time out of your to watch Luga than it is to wash. Lamar Jackson listen. I don't have any like it. Just it just feels that way. I'm not saying like I have like a stat proves that I would also say I'm I think there's an open question whether or not Jaanus in Luga. Perhaps the two of the biggest guys on the rise right now especially amongst the younger crew are the next frontier of you've NBA faces of the league. I think I haven't seen the data to suggest that they can carry it in the same way that Lebron can not celebrities and so I I do wonder I mean. Kevin O'Connor wrote about this for US last week. Changing facedly stuff. Yeah Yeah and also just on the same day that Luca had a monster performance in a matinee against the rockets the cowboys were playing the Patriots in that game was I believe like one of the most watched games in full like recent history shirt that it was like two thousand in seven now. "It's just that's going to be negative space. And he just don't have Gordon to really going to balance out the team anytime about a top heavy. They're playing Ben. mclemore Tana on a minutes. Yeah Ben Mc more he's starting yeah. I definitely expected macklemore to be like to step into the NBA. And be the next reality. Do you remember this when he he was getting that buzz. Yeah he was a top ten pick. I liked him can had a Kansas. It just did not happen for him. And I don't know if like just getting into the king system just completely just torpedoes he does. Everyone like just completely like sucks out his his confidence or whatever it is but if he cannot just hit open three pointers in the rocket system where they are just like in abundance abundance. I just don't know what we can do with them. But yeah they're down to like some guys that really shouldn't be playing heavy minutes for them and so that's why I'm concerned on the flip side though the other team or one of the other teams in Texas is having the complete opposite early season. Let's talk mavs too much. Talk on the ringer. Let's talk mavs. CHARKES CHARKES flag three questions before we started this in one of them. Of course like Ted maps questions. People Talk Luca Man. It's great apparel. Yes so let's start with this one. We have a few of them. We can get the two that are all kind of related. But let's start with Luca and specifically this is from D. fern if Luca Danni continues to maintain his current averages and form or slight slight drop how many games the mavs need to win for him to generally win. MVP So basically how many wins do the mavs need for Donncha too heavily legitimate shot. MVP repeat I'm an IT's Tou- if you're talking legitimate shot at MVP the bucks you're GonNa win like what sixty sixty five games probably. Yeah fivethirtyeight has them with sixty to to their projection. What are the mavs right now? Are they changed it since Wednesday so I checked this Tuesday afternoon and they were at fifty am. I think it's like for a second year player. There's going to be so much kind of resistance just from like a second year guy jumping the line a little bit. Probably like fifty five fifty. I I to me. MVP Talk a little. I'm ready to go there yet because I just think catskill fifty seven wins probably to be realistic right. If he's a fifty wins in awesome sixty two. He's not GonNa get the orders away. Yeah I think the thing that John are sorry is going to be up against is just that he is the newcomer and I think regardless guardless of how well he plays. He's always going to have that little like he's that's going to be used against him in so I wrote down sixty. I think sixty is bulletproof. If you get to sixty wins wins. That's enough to basically like discount anyone trying to knock him for this being too early or whatever. It might be Realistically I think it's probably closer closer to something that you know with the rockets got last year. which is fifty six? I think you do need to beat the rockets specifically yeah first. Shirts Harden is is going to be like the obvious comparison who has the better record of those two ships. Yeah I mean I think we are barreling toward similar result last year where Jaanus the box are going to win. A lot of games in Janas is going to play particularly well. Middleton has been now doesn't have brogden there and so I think he is getting more opportunities and just by sheer fact of taking more the threes and making more threes. You'd expect at least the scoring numbers to take a little bit of a height there. I think I think for Janas that helps to have that like extra thing because you can have to have a new story every year and now this your story is he has a three point shot and I think he's the Anti Load Management Guy. He plays all the time. Yeah that's right. He's the prime of his career. He runs around constantly. He's almost indestructible. Seems like hurt before I can remember even hurt I would. I guess. I don't think he's been to to the point of like Karl towns. WHO missed like a couple of games only because he was in a car accident but yeah? He's been really durable throughout his entire career. Yes that's a good point and he's always going to have. Also the the defensive argument and on the flip side of that harden will constantly be this. Just like unstoppable offense of force. He's also taking a step forward area in like progressing the narrative. You've he's flirting with forty points. A game as an average and we talk about will all this other stuff and so I I think to be paid his dues. I believe in that a little bit. Lucas got tunnel indepedence. We don't need to jump the line right the backlash brewing already. Let's not get out of hand with this thing. Yeah I mean listen look has a legitimate shot at this point I would put put him third because yes we talk about it. Being Ju- earlier maybe like the mavs schedule as Isaac flagged for me. It has been a little shaky at the same time they have the best offense in the NBA and they're currently sitting at the top of the NBA in net rating. Like that's legit and we'll talk mass for a second. Just I think a couple things that are happening. People really aren't realizing nationally that I made a big difference for Dallas last couple of weeks. Sleaze Carlisle's kind of figured out that Lucas dribble the ball the whole game. So if you have to dribble so it's not gonna work because Luka has the ball like no one's tongue lucrative of the ball up that means he's finding guys who don't have the ball so I he starring Tim Hardaway Junior sure and the funny thing is about Tim Hardaway Junior for as much grief as he gets. That man is always ready to shoot right. There's no t h j the catch. The ball's GonNa go up whereas like the law right. Seth Curry Jalen Brunson. All those guys are really thereby ball handlers. They don't like it in the rhythm of Luca Dom in the ball like that both ta J it's just catch and shoot catch and shoot. And that's a key for Luca's yet to have cats and shoot guys around them. Playing T H J more and they're using porzingus porzingas more off the ball like kind of cutting back on his posts ups. Because they're saying look porzingas your best Lucas Gin you shots. And you're getting upshots fast fast. SAY WE'RE NOT GONNA like post a million times and everything low. Low percentage turnaround shot. It's cutting off. The ball. flew capacity quickly and shooting and then like the team is being maximized on the bench guys than the bench. You've got like Curry Right Brunson. They're killing teams too because they have so many good point guards when Lucas. Not In the game. I think that really adjustment crawl maiden last week and a half it was pushed the mavs becoming a really good team this season. Yeah I mean we've talked about this to that the the fact they swung and missed yet again in free agency they didn't get a Kemba Walker. Another sort of superstar to pair with Porzingas and Luca Dodge as worked out in their benefit. They just seem like a more complete team and that's already paying off in terms of regular season record. They're currently fourth in the West at eleven and five and like I don't expect this this slowdown Specifically because what you're mentioning the deep If they have injuries a guy like Brunson step of employees more I think the question then becomes. What are they in the playoffs offs? And do they have enough in our these. Some of these kind of insularity guys who are filling in roles now. Are they going to be enough against the top. Heavy team like the Lakers. There's like the clippers seats to me. That's where it gets tough to send conversation as the jazz like the mavs their defense on the wing right now. It's Thornton medicine really good. And it's Tim Hardaway junior like those guys aren't guarding your big wings in the playoff series. Yeah I don't want to share anywhere near Luca I know. He's like on killing it right now though he's doing really good he suppresses energy Aj. But like I do worry in a playoff series in the bright lights are on all of a sudden. He's taking more shots than should I might. He just sub because he's playing Like the mavs like asking the guard like Bradley. Beal in the Bron- that right there tells you this team was championship solution. Yeah Yeah Yeah and I think this is a good segue to our next mavs related question which is from rhinos seventy-seven What move should the mavericks due to take them over the top and become become a championship contender? Do you have any thoughts. Yeah I mean it goes back to that Utah Conversation again like they need a three d wings on a guard. Lebron coli But everyone needs that. Like those guys aren't available and trades. Yeah I feel like if you were doing a segment on each team we would end up kind of just mentioning three wing. Wing Ism Boyd. Except for the clippers. Quietly those guys like centers like thirty years ago where it was like. Get at your big center to guard the pose. And that was the franchise player. Now it's at at six eight. Do everything wing without that kind of player. It's just tough layer in the playoffs. Yeah I wrote down a couple possible suggestions. One which I think is actually kinda doable. especially if it's not a trait it's more of a buyout. What about Andrea Dollar? I'd love him in Dallas. I feel like though he's prime good. La I don't think he wants to live in Dallas that his age. It's not a hot spot for someone like him. I mean he's a silicon valley magnet. Now he's we're not construe as it needs to be closer to his tech connections. Yeah I probably come via trade one of the big issues with the mavs and with this question in general so is what did the mavs really have in terms of assets. They have their twenty twenty one. I and they're twenty twenty three. I do chew the Knicks which means they can't trade and he pick until I believe twenty twenty five they can work with swap rights. But outside of that you really dealing from the core and in terms of younger assets. That's the teams would want. It's really what Jalen Brunson. Maybe it's really Jalen Brunson and I you know. I think he's pretty good but he's been like in the back burned last few weeks. He's kind of lost out with teams. been reshuffled so he played like three minutes the other night. Like how are you going to be a trade peace. That's again right. And he doesn't have the pedigree degree of someone like who could a round pick. Yeah Yeah I mean Dhillon right is another guy but as you mentioned. He's a bigger piece of what they're doing now and not a great shooter and I don't know the lawns that it'd be a big trade ship either true true. Let me throw this out as you just on kind of like the the lower level. What what about Frankie smokes? I've been saying for a while when he frankie he'd be perfect in Dallas. Could that team euro thing. I'm.

"To compete for the number one seed in the west and also like he seemed like a free clear-cut MVP candidate. I'm a little concerned about him. MM-HMM SO I might put him in the Cheer Below Zion and I think that's when you're talking about embiid crm. I might even throw in Ben Simmons. I hate to be The ringer employee here. But a where's Jason Tatum. And all of this because he's looking really good recently charts guy. I can't even take credit for him. I was is really hard on him earlier for the draft. He's good but to me. Him and Jalen Brown are pretty close. I'm not sure tatum. That much brown honestly. I think the two way potential of Jason Tatum. 'cause we're just thinking about a player to build around right And Al Get tatum. And you look at a player. Like Ben Simmons. Ben Simmons you can see the ceiling ailing if he develops a jump shot. That might raise the ceiling but not too much Jason. Tatum his ceiling is. I don't know Paul George. I don't know about that. You say that I like to me. TATUM passing the ball. I think of him and that kind of player. I think he's at right now. Well two point five assists that's a career high for him like that number up before talking about crm to me is getting up there. Like what can I do on the court. These days. He's guarding position. He skipped scoring. Willie's passing assing is defending. He's shooting you always becoming a legit. Yes trolling bead right. Yeah right Oh just to see the best Cameroonian player in the NBA Pasquale Kausikan. So this is a tough one. We're coming off a match up last night where they did win that battle Siaka managed to shut down the sixers late in that that game scored a big bucket. Shut down Allay possession from the sixers and then took an outlet pass and dunked it as time expires to really punctuate the win and also also gave I assume it was in b but also the sixers in general. "I think I had him ranked twelfth or thirteenth in the fourteen drafts. I think the main thing that I'm a little surprised about is that over the years. His defense has not been quite as good as it was at the college level in college. He was a consistently high effort defender and part of that was the level of competition. But one thing he always gave was intense effort. And maybe maybe part of that is like the circumstances. He's been part of Orlando Phoenix New Orleans, not all like having horrible seasons. But he's never been on a good contending team. Maybe it's been his environment. I don't know. I would be curious to see him in a role where he's not he's always been a starter to for the most part. I would like to see him in a role where he can come off the bench. A winning team and get back to what he wasn't college and on a high level where he did. Right. He did defend any did rebound. He's a great would if because as you're talking about him he's been with all these rat teams. What if he's a spur? You know, what I'm saying what if they get them with their shooting coach? And what if they get within that system, which he looked kinda guy that would fit within something like that that maybe maybe it's all different, you know, so much of these guys success and failure can be dependent upon how they fit out and who they get drafted by. But I haven't given up on him completely. And he's obviously had a good voice on earth with him his rookie year magical in twenty five games had to head coaches. They won thirty five games the second season twenty nine games his third season. And then he got traded from Orlando to Phoenix his fourth season. So losing count right here. But I believe he's had a different coach every single season of his NBA career. And he's never been on a winner. Either. I believe that's the case Vaughn Borrego skylines Vogel. Then he got traded the Phoenix, and then he signed with New Orleans this offseason. So I pretty sure a different coach every year of his career. That's crazy. So certainly wanted to highlight him because five consecutive triple doubles. It's quite the accomplishment in terms of games that are going out tonight. Let's quickly talk about the NBA watch of the night. It is the Lakers at the bucks on NBA TV. It's eight PM eastern time, which would have been I'm certain that we would have circled this a few months ago as a monster game down the stretch. Instead virtue of what is the Lakers. It is not necessarily a monster game yet, it will feature Janas who all eyes are on because he might very well be the MVP. We're going to be talking about if any of the awards can be decided in these last twelve games in a moment. But Lakers books tonight NBA TV at eight pm. What intrigues you? I think more than anything else. Chris. It's the poetic aspect of this game. Where here we have Jano sensitive Kumho who is possibly the MVP leading the one seeded bucks into the postseason where they could make a finals run, maybe win the finals with Jaanus. And then here we have LeBron James who was going to miss the postseason for the first time since his second season in the league the oh four oh five season for the first time since then, and he's looking older he got blocked the other night by Mario his own. Yeah..

"Does right now what do you think certainly a possibility last night we saw villanova take twenty seven of their thirty seven shots for three so that's nearly half and the houston rockets in the nba do take fifty one point one percent of their shots from three like just over half so villanova certainly does run what resembles an nba offense which made less sense game especially especially exciting to watch and the guy who took advantage of that chris dante even though unbelievable homes by him yeah for your purposes because i know you spend a lot of time evaluating players for in upcoming nba draft for your purposes does them being able to it doesn't feel like evaluation might be able to get a little bit easier if college more mirrored what the nba looks like because that's been one of the real challenges right with so many of these cases how does it translate to the next i mean i would love for more of the things to be adopted obviously the line is shorter but especially defensive three seconds if i could have anything that would be the thing that i would take out of college basketball that would help with evaluation for the next level i would think in terms of driving lanes in terms of guys not being able to just stand right in front of the stupid basket but do you know don't you think that if villa if more team started looking like villanova may be the evaluation process gets a little bit easier that struck me last night maybe but also maybe not because the skill levels is close on par is nba basketball understand but you know i think you know moving the three point line out to the nba distance would help you know adding defensive three second violations to make pains run less zone that would help as well as a shot clock as well there's those a long list of things really here's saying i'm watching villanova last night and i think you can watch those guys this is just me i watch those guys and i i don't think it's.
