"The National Rifle Association is canceling their convention next month in Houston, Texas, Due to Covid 19. In a statement, the NRA says that a spike in cases would have made it impossible for attendees to get the full experience more than 70% of people. 12 and older have now received at least one dose of a covid 19 vaccine in the States most populous county. King County executive Del Constantine says that amounts to more than 1.6 million King County residents with Children heading back to school. One question remains for so many parents. When will younger kids be eligible for covid vaccines? ABC is Mark Remillard joining us on the Cuomo Newsline with an update. A lot of school employees around the country have to be vaccinated. But what's happening with the youngsters mark all the testing is still ongoing. For the most part, visor is expected to submit data to the FDA next month on Testing that they've done in kids ages 5 to 11, which is the next group as they continue to step downward in age. Right now, Pfizer's vaccine is fully approved for anyone 16 and older and it's approved under the emergency use authorization for anyone 12 to 16 Right now, Anyone 12 and older than the U. S could get a vaccine. But so the next age group down is 5 to 11 year old Expect to send data to the FDA on that next month, then ages 2 to 5. So 234 Or They would send that, they said shortly after they submit the data for the 5 to 11 year olds and finally, the last group six months to two year old. They say they would expect to send that to the FDA. The data sometime in October November timeline there beyond that, then it's up to the FDA and the CDC to go through the process of, uh, issuing approval and Recommendations and whatnot, so it could be a little bit, but unfortunately, it doesn't sound like we're going to get anything that quickly as the school year is starting. And in fact, the National Institutes of Health Director Dr Francis Collins said on G M a today that he doesn't expect to see approval for kids until perhaps late this year. And what are some of the holdups? Is it because of their metabolisms and immune systems being so different? Yeah, There's a lot of differences. So, as Dr Francis Collins said today, and we've heard this from other health officials as well as the kids are not just tiny adults. They have the different metabolisms. They have different different composition to their bodies. And so they have to accommodate for those things when they're doing the testing in this, and that's why so forth. For example, one of the first things they've got to do is figure out the correct dosage for kids of a certain age. And then the first thing to do is make sure that it's safe and make sure that that's the safe dose to give Kids at that age, but then also beyond that. If you're giving them a different does What impact does that have on the efficacy? And so, for example, anyone 12 or older in the U. S. That gets a dose of the fighter vaccine, For example, you're actually receiving 30 micrograms for kids 5 to 11. They threw their testing. They determined the dose that they're focusing on right now at 10 micrograms. So you have a lesser dose going into kids who are 5 to 11 years old. Okay, well, what does that do to the advocacy going forward? Are we hearing about how sick younger Children get when they have covid? My four year old granddaughter Got it. She had 101 temperature. We didn't see many other symptoms beyond that. Yeah. So we're seeing cases in which there are kids getting covid 19 at higher rates. In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics said last week that the week before that there were 180,000 new covid cases, new pediatric covid cases, and that is a four time increase over what they were seeing. In July. We've seen this very steady ramp upward in pediatric cases of Covid 19, and unfortunately, along with that we have seen kids end up in the hospital and end up with severe illness. It is happening, it seems like it's still perhaps more rare than You know what we're seeing in the adult population, the odds of severe illness but Nevertheless, I think overall, there's the concern about protecting kids with vaccines, certainly, especially if they congregate in school. But also you know they can be vectors. They can get the disease. They can spread the disease. They can take it home with them to family members, people, maybe grandparents, people with health conditions, so all of a sudden the disease continues to spread. There's a lot of reasons why both. There's a lot of focus on getting vaccines available for younger kids. We've seen him give it to people in our family, even people who were vaccinated. A B C s Mark Rimmel are joining us. Again, we have seen this radical agitators seeking to curtail the Second Amendment Rights of Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam by twisting their lawfully purchased firearms into a big bowl and the NRA has had enough. Now let's be clear. Bugs is a beloved cultural figure with relatively little political sway is it really in line with Americans interest for a gun lobby to be targeting him round the NRA certainly thinks. So while the organization has been weakened over the years due to lawsuits and falling public opinion they signal, they'll be devoting considerable resources to getting what they call a no. Good Rascal Rabbit here's mcdaniel. Again, if these sort of left distant imitation tactics prevail, we're looking at a future where government agents can just come to your home while you're sleeping and bend your gun into a youth shape or jammed the barrels with carrots coastal elites like bugs bunny may be okay with that outcome, but real Americans will never stand for it mercy. "You know, I'm thinking sure of that. You smoke enough the stuff. You just don't care about that other stuff, will you? 7 23 Here on NewsRadio, 7 40 k T. R H all right, New York's attorney general going after the National Rifle Association As always, we suspect that the timing has a whole lot to do with kind of, you know, time tying the NRA's hands behind their backs, is far supporting the president. With an ad campaign. They will have to you're saying really? Maybe they'll just have to hang onto their money too. You know, to fight this lawsuit, they have filed a counter suit. Against New York. I think the president had the right idea by suggesting what you just want. You all just go to Texas. Well, you won't have any problems in Texas, where you might have a few. But do you want for the most part? You will not have problems here in Texas, Dan Bongino. Was almost Sean Hannity last night talking about the lawsuit disclosure. I used to work for a production company that provided content to general TV. So but I'm a secondment supporter have been. The timing of this lawsuit is Outrageously. I mean, s so poorly thought out. But Sean, Here's the deal. The left lies they lie about everything all the time. You tell me a major issue. I'll tell you where the left lies about. They never tell the truth and on firearms. They're the worst offenders. Gun ownership of gun ownership per capita United States Let me do this for the Liberals were typically not that bright has gone up. You know, up like that direction. Crime has gone down down. Now the only place crime has gone back up. I know we got to use the directions here is in cities, ironically run by liberals. With really strict gun laws. But then when you ask liberals about that paradox again, a paradox on ly the liberals because in conservative states, you can actually defend yourself. That's why crime rates are low. No one wants to break into a house. Where could be an armed gun owner. They say No, no, no, That's because all the guns they're coming from other states lax gun laws until you actually look at where the illegal guns were recovered from and you find that they're coming from a wait for it shod wait for it. Illinois of all places, which is where Chicago is, They lie all the time and the course Chicago has some as we talked about many times has some of the strictest gun rules in the entire country. And they also have some of the some of the greatest violence murder rate. You know, You just have to hope that the sleeping giant is awake, Meaning the American people. I hope so. You know, they really think that this is just your typical election. To most people. I mean, I hear people arguing politics and I see all these pundits and they keep talking like they think that this is your normal election where it matters. What turnout was during the midterms, and it really matters what the platform is. No, this is strictly against Can we take control of this country and get trump out of office from the Democrats is all they care about? And you know what? How many guests if we had on You know, Republican Gaster strategist or whatever. Saying what the American people are smarter than this. You know they're going to see right through it when when it comes Election time way. Certainly Hopes doesn't matter how smart you are when you got another side is operating totally on emotion and lawlessness and anarchy and election integrity is down the drain. I mean, What's gonna happen to this country? Yana and I just wonder. You know, the people who are walked all this if you will are the people who are engaged in this and there just so many people who don't want to be engaged in politics is that they just can't stand watching what they say. "Here's the specs. The yacht is called illusions at first was I thought it was called the illusion or illusions. It's just called illusions talking heads. It's one hundred and eight feet long. It has a false staff also chef. It has four state rooms I think stay room in this context means bedroom. But I'm not sure whatever they are. Whatever state rooms are illusions has four of them. Illusions is a big enough boat that it comes with other boats and vehicles that ride on top of it. It comes with two jet skis and sixteen foot long jetboat. It's boat that comes with the boat. I do not know my way around a yacht. I do own a row boat but I don't know anything about you. Know the makings of a good state room if I laid down in one for a nautical nap. But I'll tell you for news purposes. You should know that boats that make the news they tend to have a paper trail online, and so I think this might be the boat in question. This might be illusions when you google illusions yacht at least this is the bad boy that pops up and it does have the the hike embedded jet skis and the vote and the fancy bedrooms and all the rest of it. The reason I went on a very pleasurable Internet. Deep dive for this today. Is that some good ship illusions some yacht of that name. has now been cited as evidence in a long long long long list of allegations of fraud and multimillion dollar self-dealing at the NRA at the national, Rifle Association in a lawsuit that was filed today by New York Attorney. General Letitia James The NRA as an organization is chartered in New York. It has been chartered in New York for well over one hundred years. As a New York institution as a New York charitable institution, it has to follow the rules and laws for nonprofits operating in New York. And according to the Attorney General's lawsuit, the longtime president of the NRA Wayne Lapierre often stayed on the illusions yacht without paying for it. Those trips were present from one of the NRA's vendors with Mr Lapierre getting the US you know the chef and the jet skis and presumably all four state rooms for free. What he didn't do was disclose his acceptance of what The New York ag alleges was this very, very expensive gift on the NRA's financial disclosures in that is something that is required by New York state. Law. From the lawsuit quote Mr Peres testimony to the attorney general he said that the reason he failed to disclose the use of the was for security reasons and because he considered the to have been used for legitimate. A legitimate business per best. But wait there's more according to the New York Attorney General Wayne Lapierre spent five hundred thousand dollars of the NRA's money. That's NRA donors right are members providing money to the NRA for its purpose is a nonprofit instead. Up here is taking a half million dollars of that money to spend specifically on private airplane flights to the Bahamas and back for his family at least eight times over just the last three years. The Attorney General says he spent more than thirteen million dollars of the NRA's money on a private travel consultant arranging additional private flights in luxury cars for him and his family. Over the last six years there was also at least one African Safari for Wayne Lapierre and his wife which the says they improperly accepted from another NRA vendor. The AG. Ticks off lots of fancy Christmas gifts for law peers, friends, and family and golf club membership fees and a twelve thousand dollars hotel bill at the four seasons not for weighing up here but for his niece. Over the course of four years, the lawsuit alleges that Wayne Lapierre was reimbursed for more than a million dollars worth of personal expenses straight out of the NRA's coffers. So. Your uncle with the NRA sticker on the back of his pickup. decided to put up there because it shows that he's an NRA member do-or-die he's been dutifully giving them their money. He's been like putting. Lapierre's niece up in the four seasons and flying Wayne in his family back and forth at the Bahamas. That membership money's been going to. The lawsuit filed today is over one hundred, fifty pages. The New York Attorney General Letitia James sets out in fairly stunning detail her case for how the president of the NRA and several of his top lieutenants drained more than sixty four, million dollars out of the NRA for their own personal gain over a very short period of time just over a period of a few years.

"Their own pockets. For years, the diverted millions and millions of dollars away from its charitable mission for personal use by senior leadership to award contracts to the financial gain of close associates and family. It appeared to Dole out lucrative. No show contracts to former employees in order to buy their silence and continued loyalty. Thiss lawsuit specifically charges the array as a whole. In addition to four individual defendants, one first individual longtime executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, who has been the face Of the way for decades to former treasurer and chief financial Officer Wilson Woody Phillips, three former chief of staff in the executive director of operations Joshua Powell, and four corporate secretary in general counsel John Fraser. These individuals in the area are charged with failing to manage the NRA's funds and failing to follow numerous state and federal laws, which contributed to the loss of more than $64 million in just three years. Letitia James is the New York state attorney general. Shortly after the New York lawsuit was announced, the attorney general of Washington, D. C. Filing a similar complaint against the foundation, which is the groups A D. C based terrible organization. Also on allegations of misusing charitable funds on Twitter. The NRA is calling today's lawsuit a baseless, premeditated attack on our organization and the Second Amendment freedoms It fights to defend. The president also tweeting about it today and making these comments at the White House Before heading to Ohio. I just heard about that. That is a very terrible thing that just happened. I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life. And I told him that for a long time I think they should move to Texas. Texas would be a great place for to another state off they're using, But I would say that Texas would be a great place in an appropriate place for the NRA has been going on for a long time.
