In the National League, Central Dodgers and Giants tied all season and tied in the second tonight back to singing boom. I would say the central is done. He was bringing Daniel Vogel back today, singing with the Grand Slam to win it. Yeah. "Of social media. Your information station is wtmj. Kevin well, citing unlimited WTMJ news time coming up on 8 10 on the field inside the clubhouse. Everything in between. This is Brewer's weekly. Why, from the Annex Wealth Management studios at Radio City Here's Mack Holling. We have quite a show tonight. We'll just tell you in about five minutes. Jordan Zimmerman is going to join us. Newest Brewers pitcher Mildly contract invite to spring training, He'll try to Ah Make the club join the rotation. Guy says he has a lot left in the tank. And if he if he looks anything like who he was in Washington, my goodness that Zbig addition for the Brewers. He's been battling some injuries the last few years. The numbers have not been is good with the with the tiger, so we'll talk with him coming up in just a few minutes. Ryan Braun spoke with Adama Calvi of brewers dot com this past week says right now he has no intention of plane. But he is continuing to stay in shape. What does that mean? What does that mean? I'll tell you what I think it means we'll do that coming up later on the hour, we'll talk about in game video. It is coming back in a way, if you remember if you have followed along through everything that's happened. And this in this world we live in sometimes two areas kind of collide and with the end game video and Major League baseball It was a case of covert protocols and the reaction to the Astros cheating scandal colliding when they closed down all the video rooms because you already had the scandal and Major league Baseball was trying to make sure that there was no funny business going on with the video, and then you don't want people congregating in these video rooms together. When you got Cove it going strong. So last year, there was no in game video. When hitters got done with that bats. There was no way for them to go Look at the video, and you might not think it's a big deal and kind on the surface level. I understand what people don't think It's a big deal. Let me tell you That's a big deal. It's a really big deal. Ah lot of hitters and major League baseball heavily rely on the end game video and it was not coming to them during during the season this past year and Often ill. I've said this statistic nine million times since the season ended, the Brewers just had their worst season hitting ever worst season ever worst team batting average ever. And they were second in the National League Central in here. It is. It is one of the most astounding statistics that I've ever seen in my years of being around baseball, and there are a lot of reasons that that's true. But one of those reasons, absolutely, was the not having video anymore. In game video going to be back in a way, although video rooms will not be back. Explain that coming up later on in the hour as well, if you want to join us, you can always do so. 85561616 22 take 5561616 20 That is the accident. "Glorious Super Bowl Sunday. Super Bowl l V 55 for those of us that live in the everyday world. More on that coming up in just a bit. I'm sure you saw in the last 48 hours. Trevor Bauer is now a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, passing up a lot, actually leaving about Three or four million on the table with the Mets to sign with the Dodgers. His 2021 salary for this coming season. Will be $40 million. Now to put that in perspective, if indeed anybody could The current major league baseball team payroll. For the entire 2021 season. For the Indians, Orioles and Pirates. Does not approach 41 $40 million. The Indians payroll this year as it stands right now. 36 a half million the Orioles 34 million. The Pirates. 30 Million. Bauer is going to make 40 million. The inequity of Major League baseball and its financial structure continues. Meanwhile, teams are scrambling. Is there going to be a season this year? Well, it appears there will be. Will it start on time? Well, it appears it will. But it looked that way last year, did it not One of the financial structures for all of these teams. Will fans be allowed to get inside stadia? Will they be allowed to participate in buying concessions? Souvenirs? Whatever. It may be money in the pockets of the owners or not. Will there be a full broadcast slate of games? Nobody knows. At this point. Everybody thinks there will be there proceeding as such, but they don't know and therefore a lot of teams are getting a little trigger shy. About committing to winning in 2021 a lot of those teams Are inside the National League Central Division. Is a good story right now on sporting news dot com. It's written by my next guest, Ryan Fagan, and the title is a bit more, hasn't it? Has been the National League's unofficial slogan this season, the in activity of teams like the Cubs and the Reds. The Cardinals with some sort of commitment. But is there really and of course, the pirates who continue to behave like a triple A team? Let's bring in Ryan figured Ryan. How are you on this glorious Super Bowl Sunday? I'm doing all right. I'm doing all right. Bit more bit more. His word. I love that because in this division this year It's been either slash payroll. Don't add payroll or in the case of the pirates behave like you're a triple agent. It really is truly has got. I think from one of the best division in baseball, which it Woz even before last year, last year was an anomaly. You got four teams in the playoffs and In a shortened season, but I think it's gone from one of, if not the best two, maybe one of the two or three worst in baseball about you. It's not. It's not something that is shining point for making baseball this year. Talk about with the N L Central has done this is, you know not not what not generate the type of excitement we hope generated an off season, you know. 20 the words a bit more hesitant. Ironically, we're, um said by Donald Select a couple of days before he suddenly was not hesitant, and 100 made the trade for Nolan a Renato. Um, I mean, this is This is a central that has been up for the taking, You know, quite but honestly, all season when you look at what, um, even a week ago and you try toe decide who which team had the best offseason. The question wasn't what have they gotten? The question was what they want, and the team that have lost the lease was having the best offseason which is crazy to be thinking about that. And late January. It is. I mean, really, when you're talking about Adam, adding Adam Wainwright I had always a terrific picture, and he's been everything to the Cardinals for so many years. But when that's the signature signing inside the division and then across the trade for our nodoz is there too. Just to me. It almost This is what it smacks of. I think a lot of these owners are uncertain about what the financial situation will be inside the league this year because of covert how many fans will be allowed in ballparks and at what point and to what degree? And routine like Cincinnati. That's that means infinitely more than it does for team, for example, like the Dodgers, the Yankees, I think a lot of these guys would get they just got trigger shine the all season. What about you? What I think that's part of it, too. And I think you can overlook in fact that they for once expanded playoffs, and you kind of can understand. Maybe the owners thought it was going to happen for Not 2021 season, And if you're looking at a mentality that says, how do I get into the postseason? It's one thing when you're getting into the postseason with 90 to win, you've got to create a team do you think is gonna get 92 or more wins? It's another thing entirely. When you're said Okay, well, let's fill the team that could get the 500. Or a game under 500. We could still get in the postseason. And then who knows what happened that that really changes the way that you're approaching the aggressiveness, the money that you're willing to spend the talent you're willing to acquire. I think that's a big part of it. As well. And you know some owners have been you said a little bit a little bit, hasn't said a little bit. Unsure of what's going to happen. And this kind of give them the excuse in the reason to hide, even though we've seen so many teams go out and Take it Take advantage of this market and be aggressive. I mean, you look at what happened here in Cincinnati in the off season, they dumped right cell. Iglesias was a salary dump and hey, was at times in tough situations in games. He was very good. When they brought him in and situations that were not so good..

"I am Tommy Throw and Jim, I think we could use some warm weather thoughts as we start to get ready for pitchers and catchers reporting here in a couple of weeks. Well, enjoy the warmth out. It's going to get really, really cool. What? What warmly? What warmth are we enjoying it supposed to next week? What they're projecting. Ah, swarm 34 degrees. Warm. No said in comparison, right, definitely by computer. They don't hang with him. There's a lot of everywhere, you know. Oh, yes, yes. Yes. Yes, It is. Certainly some news around the National League Central that will be talking about today on the show. But right now, very excited about our guest. Mike move stock is red second baseman is joining us most warm us up with some nice thoughts on the Where? Where are you right now? And how much warmer is it there than it is here. Yeah, I'm not home in Malibu right now, Zixia to the sun runs out. It's pretty nice out here right now. Why do you guys Well, good. Good. Well, I could just close my eyes. I can hear the beach. Just see the sun setting over the ocean Sounds glorious. Yeah, It's nice. It's uh, It's a beautiful day out here. Malibu. What's you go to Ralphs, the the grocery store out there. That's where they all the stars go, right? Yeah, but there's a there's a bunch of stars out here. I kind of I kind of keep to myself. Stay at home with the kids. Try and be a dad at home right now. So it Zubin. It's been fun, though. That's open your name drop. Yeah, I saw such a such other day. Who is the biggest celebrity? Go ahead. Say it. You could name drop here is the biggest celebrity you've seen while you've been Out about town. Um, you know, we actually did a silvery softball game. Uh, the last couple of years to start our charity south with a strong so we have some pretty cool celebrities after that. Charlie Sheen without their Jamie Foxx had him so often people. Adam Sandler came out, so it's pretty cool to have those guys out there for that, Um, they they live around the area so you can see them occasionally. Let's talk about your offseason. Little bit. You talked about spending time with the family. The kids, I'm sure they keep you busy. What? What is the off season? Like for you? I know you're a guy that likes to get out. Get the line in the water a little bit. Do some fishing. Are you doing much of that? Yeah, not not really. Haven't been able to go to get on the water, actually at all. Um, but I've been playing a little bit of gold. Um, you know, I got I got three kids now, So they take up a lot of my time, I'd have it. It's fun being able to be at home and that's all of it. And especially when I'm leaving so soon to go to spring training, and I'm going to see them hardly at all. For the next couple of months ago, I spent much time the service possible. What type of off season do you normally have? Some guys start hitting early? Some don't hit until very, very late. How long have you been hitting? What's your regimen? Yeah, I don't. I'm one of you guys. It doesn't doesn't hit till a little later on during the off season. Um, just because when I get camp I hit so much and I'm I'm in a cage for early work and post work and all that stuff so I just try and get my get my body ready. So when I do get the spring training that everything feels good, everything, eyes working the right way. And then when I get to spring training, it's time to go. But I've started hitting now for about a week or two and just just lives getting getting getting ready to go. Oh, you girl you for this upcoming season? I mean, you look at last year certainly got got the seem to the postseason. Certainly didn't have the outcome that you guys wanted on. I feel like when you look at the numbers of this team offensively, there was certainly some room for improvement. There s so how much how eager does that make you for this season? Yeah, absolutely eager. Um, you know, we have a great team had a great team last year. Um, and like, he said, you know, we offensively we could have done, uh, done a lot better than we did. Um, but again, we made the postseason. We did what we had to do to get there. On then when we got there just weren't warning of the score any runs. Our pitching staff did a phenomenal job, but we just just didn't score any runs. So looking back on it now is a learning experience for us and We'll take what happened last year and using moving forward, and I think we're gonna be better off for for it with what happened last year. Throughout my experience playing sports covering sports, I chip on the shoulder is not a bad thing. Do you think that you guys might have a chip on your shoulder? Um, um, A good one. Good one. I could Offense. You know, the last couple of games kind of left left a bad taste in our mouth and we want to go out there and, um, you know, show show what we're able to do, Especially offensively and throughout the season Now we don't have the best offensive beers. But again, our pitching staff did a phenomenal job keeping us in those games and eventually getting us into the postseason, So I think it's an offense. We want to go out there and show what we're capable of doing. And I think we're gonna be just fine. When we get out there you talked about. It was a learning experience from an offensive perspective for this team. What kind of things did you feel like this team learned about itself off offensively because it certainly felt like You guys did a little better job toward the end of the season of producing runs and may be taking advantage of some opportunities that perhaps you didn't earlier in the season? No, that's you're exactly right. You know, we did a lot better job of, you know, producing in manufacturing runs. Not just relying on Leon hitting home runs, which is kind of a trap We fell into early in the season. Uh uh. You know that's something Obviously we have a bunch of power up and down the lineup, but we got to be able to score runs in other ways, and I think you did a better job of that. And you know, going into spring training. I think as an offense that's going to be a focus of ours. Just You'll find wait..

"Tonight. Thanks for the tweets. Twitter feed burning up. I'm at Lance McAllister. I would love to have you follow. I'd be very honored and you could become part of the show and contribute during the show. And outside the show at Lance McAllister on Twitter and thanks to barley corns for presenting that Twitter feed. Bob Nightingale wrote it last night for USA Today, And as I read it, I felt very sad. I felt very disappointed. I felt Dare I say, jealous as I read it. It was USA Today and Bob Nightingales reaction to what the Cardinals did with Nolan a Renato. Now I'm not presenting this. As I wish the Reds would have traded for Nolan a Renato because of the back end of that deal. The Cardinals are going to sit there and say Holy crap. Will you have this much money to this guy and Paul Goldschmidt, But the point was in what it means right now for the ST Louis Cardinals, he wrote. This is Bob Nightingale. It's incredible what a single move conduced for a team's image while changing the narrative of its owner. What is this team's image? What is the Reds image? It is that of losers. We've lost 16 of the last 20 years. They haven't won a playoff series since 1995. What is the narrative of the owner? That he's all over the place from dragging his feet. In the rebuild because of the All Star break, the All Star Game and 2015 and the optics of all that to six losing seasons of the rebuild to go for it last year to reallocate it after 60 games in a playoff appearances brief as it was And pardon. Pardon might my language but what this is, is half passing it. It's not going for it, and it's not rebuilding it, splitting the difference on the fence, and nothing is ever gained by splitting the difference on the fence, and that's what this organization is doing. Bob Nightingale wrote in the piece about the Cardinals. There are no guarantees in baseball or any sport, of course. But while everyone in the National League Central is stripping down or standing pat, the Cardinal stock is soaring. Any rights. All it took was money and ingenuity. Just like that The colonel's became the favorites in the National League Central And he concludes with this. The cardinal still have blemishes. But considering their division is perhaps the weakest in baseball, they could run away with it by August. Nolan Aaron Auto is now on a team that desperately wants to win year. After year. And as the Cardinals proved with this trade, it's a tradition in ST Louis that isn't about to fade. Strong words. From Bob Nightengale USA today on what the Cardinals did and I go back to what really frustrates me at all this off. They finished last season as a third place team that got into the playoffs because of the expanded playoffs and then did nothing. So they were a third place team, as is This offseason. They have lost Trevor Bauer. Anthony DeSclafani, Um right cell Iglesias. Her kiss Sally on down Archie Bradley. And now are relying on the rest of the division. Not doing anything as a way to air quote be in this thing. dot com today at a piece by my I think it's pronounced betray. Leo might betray Leo, who wrote about how the Cardinals have the most helium. Right now. They're blowing up their rising above the pack in the division, he says, because they went and did the one thing no one else was willing or able to do in the division. But, he writes, it's hard to make a case against or hard. It's not hard to make a case for any of four teams in the NL Central. Fangraphs is projecting the following win totals for the division. You ready? Hurdles 79 wins. Fangraphs is predicting the NL Central Division winner with 79 wins a losing record. Brewers with 77 wins cubs with 76 wins reds with 75 wins in the pirates with 64 And he goes on in the piece to point out the case for the Cardinals. The case for the Brewers the case for the Cubs and the case for the Reds. And the more I read it, The more frustrated I gotten. We've said I did. This is a topic a month ago. This was going to be the best opportunity with the rest of the division standing down. For the Reds to stand up. There is a trust when you own a baseball team when you have a professional sports team. There is a trust. That you have to respect. With your fans. Does it feel like they've lived up to the trust? With you this off season. That's what bugs me. For what you put up with versus what you got as your reward. It seems off to me. It seems off to do what they did one year ago. No, it wasn't good enough. And to watch them spend this offseason counting every single penny of their budget That's going to be slashed by about $25 million. To scrape together lottery ticket scratch offs and toss some darts with blindfolds on You know the way joke? Wait are the curdle way in ST Louis? Well. We may We may get bugged by that term. Think anybody in ST Louis would be bugged by the term the Reds way..

"Sports talk great to have you with us on this overcast and cloudy day here in the tri state with rain and possibly snow moving in so Look at it this way. We have that to look forward to, and if it's going to do it, why not do it other than a communique? And wouldn't it be nice? It. Wouldn't it be great if this were the middle of July, and it was baseball season and We could all go to the games. What we don't know about that. Yet. Baseball doesn't know about that. Yet. There has been a reticence for a lot of teams to sign Big League contract's reticent to sign free agents. The budgeting for a lot of teams is very much in limbo. San Diego is out signing players like you know, they've got money to burn, and in some cases they do. San Diego is loading up, but most other teams have been judicious in whom they sign. Including the Cincinnati Reds. Now let's face it if you look at the Reds right now, even in a week, National League Central Division you're probably asking yourself, okay. What's the pathway to get to a division title? Trevor Bauer is gone. Trevor Bauer is gone. He was your race. He hasn't signed anywhere yet, although the Los Angeles Angels seem to be the latest destination for him. We'll see. But here we are, hopefully three weeks away from the start of spring training pitchers and catchers reporting In just three weeks. Rotation right now looks to be Luis Castillo. Remember that rumor that pop last Sunday? Castillo is going to the Yankees. It's a done deal on this, and that never happened. Did they talk? Sure did they think they were going to get more than what they were being offered by the Yankees? Probably. Is that the reason why he's not there? Absolutely. You have Luis Castillo and you have Sonny Gray. And then after that What you got. Paranormal. He's been around for a while, but he can pitch he could throw. You knows how to navigate through a major league game and navigating through a major league game anymore. For starters, about five innings Wade. Miley. Yeah, he's older, but still knows how to pitch. He may not throw, but he can pitch. And you've gotten Ensign, who was bounced back and forth, at least on the Depth charts between the bullpen between starting between being 1/5 starter between being a closer Lorenzen probably would be best left in the bullpen, but that still leaves you at least one and maybe two other spots to fill. So the Reds have been busy in the last week, signing pictures, not starting pitchers at best depth for their bullpen at best players that come here on the come Hoping that people like Kyle Body and Derrick Johnson, who are you have a long track record of working with pictures that haven't worked other places and spending them into something that can be useful. Siano Perez left hander the Astros had him and traded him. Hector Perez, a right hand of the Blue Jays had him and traded him like Seattle Perez here to the Reds this week. The pot's at best. They're both just bullpen guys. If indeed they even make The roster coming out of spring training. I think a lot of what's going on really now. And this is going to sound nuts. Because if you've watched the red well, it wouldn't be the first time I said something like that. If you've watched the Reds over the course off the 60 games last year. The name that I keep coming back to For this this this pitching rotation as a possible fourth starter who knows, maybe even a third starter. Is TJ Antone. PJ Antone. Out his fastball in his curve ball. I'm not going to get deep into sabermetrics or new metrics that baseball has next gen stats and all that. There's a big premium right now on spin rate. Everyone who wants to know what's the guy's spin rate on a curve ball on a fastball? And for most of his time leading up to last year's shortened season. TJ Antone's spin rate was at best pedestrian. It went off the charts last year and his appearances. I get a feeling that it's nothing more than that. It's nothing more than looking at the at the stats with sabermetrics and what he did last year. That he could be. Somebody that just comes out of the blue to the average fan, Not the Red's not the body, not to Derrick Johnson out of the blue. Have a pretty big you. Pretty big year pitchers and catchers of his report in three weeks. The big question with the Cincinnati Reds and we're going to get into this as we progress on through the next three hours. Plays shortstop. Pretty. Galvis is still out there, but they've cut and run from Freddy Galvis. There's still the three big names and free agency Marcus Semi and DeeDee Rig aureus L dropping Simmons. Jose Garcia remains in the system. But Garcia in 68 plate appearances in last year's shortened season. He's whipped 26 times with 26 times. Walked only once that is most experienced before spot play last year and again a 60 game season was no higher that advanced able So what about Simeon Gregorius and and Simmons? Because I think from those three you gotta find your shortstop there. And my guess is that's exactly What Nick crawl on his staff or up to right now they're not rushing out to sign any of those three. They may want the market to set itself After one signs. They may all sign. I mean, other than Simeon. Who has just under a nine war wins above replacement terrific player who had a offer your last year. Little bit simian. They're all Gregorius and Simmons are about the same Simeon. 2 23 is on base percentage last year was 305. I'm not going to get into the rest of the stuff that that I like. But it may make if you're not into baseball, math, you may make your eyeballs roll in the back of your head. But in 2019, this guy had to 85 drove in 92. What's his problem that why is he out there while he's 30? You also made $13 million last year playing for the Oakland A's. I doubt seriously unless this process goes deep and by deep I mean well into spring training, I doubt seriously if Marcus Semien and is going to be looking for anything less than that..

"You're fine. Do you mean you're you're fine. You're fine. Okay, As is the Cubs could be the favorite to win the National League Central. Yeah, as is as though the next two drops and Danny goes Wise. Add that much to my paper. All you little off the top E thinks in payroll. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Well, a lot of money spending there. There's not one person goes through the turnstile. It's harder and harder to find any holes on this roster right now with what they're doing on the page on paper. You got yourself a lockdown Closer. I'll give James Fagan of the athletic credit because he wrote up a breakdown of this, and he mentioned how Tony LaRussa in his book, One last strike, used to have debates with his pitching his longtime pitching coach, Dave Duncan. About whether you'd rather have a nice at the top of your staff or locked down closer. And Tony LaRussa always said I want. Give me the lockdown closer because that, you know, then the bullpen falls in the place. Look, you've got Tony LaRussa, and now you've got exactly what he's always wanted. And It's funny because they add him from the A's and White Sox fans can remember now as the playoffs this season. And you know it ended two at the hands of the A's. You had Liam Hendriks come out in game to throw 49 pitches and just shut down the White Sox in Game two. And everyone thought, Okay, well, Likelihood that he'll be available in Game three is probably not very high, but oh no, no, no Liam Hendriks in Game three when the A's eliminated the white sex from the playoffs this year, said Give me the ball went out there struck out the side in 14 pitches. I mean, this is a guy who has an attitude of he's got the old school. Closer mentality. Give me the ball. I'm gonna end this. I think it locks of perfectly and now the great thing is the White Sox had a good bullpen, but they didn't have the guy who you knew yet was going to be the closer. I'm not saying they couldn't have found that guy in this pen. What to know. You have a guy who you trust in the ninth inning and then you've got a lot of high velocity arms. Garrick Rochet. You know what I mean? Aaron. Bummer. So I went through analytical site last night. Two of the top eight relievers in baseball number one. Liam Hendriks, number eight. Erin Bummer. I mean, two of the top eight. Take that. It's all right. We got Ryan to Pere. He got an M V P vote it take that. It's pretty good to be a White Sox fan right now to Paris. Really Good little lime on top Tip. Parent temper. Oh, I beg your pardon? Well, it's the same way Do you see the season coming back? That's the same. You put a little live on him this upcoming season. I just, You know, I just look at the Capitol. I'm just very optimistic and we're gonna have some news here. Coming up very soon. Here. We're gonna have some some crazy dude, please. He's breaking news on Chicago's home for sports. ESPN. 1000 Way turned out to veteran newsman Dan Settlement when breaking news here on Capitol Hill. Okay, so the White Sox are two whose arrow is clearly pointing up You like my watch Another two years. Quinn Ville top line. Let's go, boys, let's go voices. "Everybody says Well, you know that 60 games left in the field and you're still in it with two months to play 66 days total. I don't even think that the veterans with with a 60 game season I had that experience to be able to turn it on right away and again, you see the veteran team be able to be in there for the duration. Well, the duration is going to be short, and it's going to be interesting. Another thing I believe that the life having their advantage point Is that the American League Central to me is is the division that you khun that could be had compared to the National League Central where you have Such a competitive atmosphere with the Cardinals with the Brewers on, you know you sticking out of the Cubs in there. So those three teams off the parrot everything past pirates, but still it's Ah Ah Division right now that But there's so many things that could happen, but the American League Central I believe it's a division that start off the game. I don't know if there's a team back and capture it doesn't matter if it's a White Sox could be the president, and that could be the Minnesota Twins. But one of those teams that they start off I don't know. Any other team has the ammunition to be able to come back and show period time. So before the season started, and where we are right now, the Dodgers are the odds on favorite to win the World Series. Earlier this week, David Price opted out covert 19 concerns. Everybody understands. The Dodgers also have a list of players. I believe seven who have yet to report including Kenley Jansen. At this point, do you still like the Dodgers chances of winning this thing? 30. They are the opinions with Dodgers. Is that Yeah, You don't have David Price, but the reason David Price was thrown into the deal was to be able to get a few bets for the year. I really do believe that you put in Ross Stripling. Now as the number five starter, he'd be a middle of the rotation guy. Maybe another organization. I thought he was already traded out during the season. During the off season. I thought he was an angel along with Dr Peterson that got re boat and then he became a still continue to be a Dodger. So Dodgers so that That becomes a godsend for them, but the ability that they have to be so deep in every position, even in the pitching aspect of it. Make certain the odds on favorite especially in the National League. Well, we're talking outside of Chicago. I mean, and you know this team as much as anyone, and I don't want to do a disservice to the seventies Reds. But this red team could be the big red machine part too. I mean, they are stacked people realize what that line is going to look like with a D. H. Most. Takis joins them, right. Nick Castano's Who had incredible year last year, half of it with the Cubs. How do you Perez? You know the Red's better than anybody. Your dad was part of that whole thing. How do you not like the Reds and what they put together? Especially that line up with the D H. Red. Do. I like him a lot? I don't know if you want to put him in the big red machine. I don't want to go there. Just no, no, no. Yeah, I take it all back. I take it back. That's gonna look bad on me. If you have someone writes ahead language. Jesse Rogers thinks the 2020 Reds are the 75 Reds. No, no, no, no. Yeah, let's let's all the 70 situations that we ate, even for no, no doubt..

"So here's what we know on the surface as we wait the official announcement of the other fifty nine games on the red season. We know it is sixty games. We will run through September twenty seventh. In terms of regular season, we know the reds are playing the national league central, and we know they'll play the American league central by the way if it's reds tigers opening day. What about Luis Castillo Versus Matthew Boyd? Maybe I'll ask David Bell about debt. I'm sure there's nothing David Bellwood. Rather be asked. Hey, schedules out officially. Who's your opening day starter? That coming up at at six thirty five, we know. NL Central Ale central. And I looked at what has been released from the national. League east, there were not six game were not six game ups against rivals. There was a thought in one stage of this process that they might make your natural rival at six games here in. Essence the reds and Indians playing six games three here three there in the early schedule releases. Six matchups during the season, the early proposal was going to be six versus your biggest rival, and then maybe lop off to against somebody else in that opposite division in this case being the American league central. We're waiting on that cubs, colonels, pirates brewers ten times. Each Butler tells me. That's forty Indians twins, White SOx tigers, royals, perhaps four times each times five equaling a total of twenty games. Let's

Chicago's loss dropping them into a tie with the brewers for the second National League wild card spot you Darvish seven innings gave up six hits four earned runs walked thirteen strikeouts is he already three ninety four against the National League central this season but things tightening up in that actually wild card race brewers continue to put pressure on ESPN analyst Doug Glanville they've started by just a cavalcade of offense of players who have stepped up Mike Moustakas we saw the highlight they've also use that to be teams in their division the beat the cardinals two out of three one Sir is the guns the cubs home and on the road they think about their offense or offenses been really critically snapping up but they have to have an MVP I go down everything from last season of touch they could be full this season and they found ways to get the big hits and the daughter against teams that were significant in their division yeah I think.

"Of the National League central place the cubs in cards get together in Saint Louis and the brewers are in Oakland to face the ace there's no question but the first three months of the season the Reds offense did not live up to the expectations but since the all star break things have turned around the Reds have the highest batting average in the National League and are in the top five in both home runs and runs scored Tommy throw had a chance to talk with assistant hitting coach Donnie after about the Reds approach to hitting in this twenty nineteen season Donnie talk about kind of your role on this team you're you're the assistant hitting coach but but it's a little more than just that and what's in the title so take us through kind of what what your day to day role as with the organization sure it's really starts with I think looking at things from a thirty thousand square foot do you so usually dive in and layers deep so that we can bring something up to the surface really simple so whether it's through data analytics swing metrics actual analysis of the swing I'm really I feel like the way I look at it as I'm operating in the deep end so that I can bring something up to the surface at a very simplistic way that we can apply it to hopefully help performance increase I've talked to a few guys and they come back to you is finding something relatively small in a swing that that's been able to make a big difference I mean what are you looking for when you're looking at kind of breaking down a swing because it it it's a little untraditional I guess and someone yeah were were way behind the eight ball in terms of the amount of time if you take just turn I for instance we've only known these guys since February and let's say you know a player is twenty years old he has a twenty eight year head start on us in terms of how he's been moving his body and how he thanks so before anything it's a relational a driven it's trust striven and then it's really about taking the things that Turner senior when I'm seen and seeing if we can look at one percent you know an opportunity one percent more efficient with movement so sometimes it's a simple set up adjustment sometimes it's a barrel angle sometimes it's a thought sometimes it's somethin directional so without knowing how they think and how they feel we can't really apply months so we we really target that area first and then we look at those one percent opportunities of efficiency that can help guys talk about working with Turner worn it Turner ward and what what that dynamics like the between the two of you oh my gosh it's amazing I'm sure that I will look back and be so grateful that my first job in the big leagues was.

"Right where are we on Memorial Day where are we on July fourth and where are we on Labor Day really now the next day is July thirty first because that's when your roster becomes set and your possibilities are finite instead of infinite you can not get players anymore after July thirty first so if they're not on your forty man roster in other words in your minor league system or on your major league roster they will not be with you in the post season should you make it there I we didn't talk about the National League central much except for to say that it was and is quite competitive but I didn't realize until I looked at this how competitive going into tonight in the National League central cubs forty six and forty two Milwaukee forty six and forty two St Louis forty three and forty two Pittsburgh forty two and forty four Cincinnati forty one and forty four bottom line is there are five teams in the National League central three of them have forty two losses and the other two have forty four losses and we talk about the loss column because you can't get those back once you lost the game you've lost it but it every other game has the potential anyway to be a win so the fact that five teams are within two games the loss column on July fourth puts a lot of pressure on those general managers I don't know that there are any general managers with more pressure specially can you consider that Milwaukee in Pittsburgh in Cincinnati are relatively small market teams we're not a lot of money to throw around you know it comes out the advantage there because they do have more money and more of an ability to spend it and St Louis as tradition and history and not a huge market but not overly cheap but Milwaukee St Louis birth birds Cincinnati none of them are Chicago in terms of revenue streams in terms of financial opportunity and history of spending money it Chicago in the other four teams in the division so that comes up no decision to make they are buyers they're certainly not sellers Milwaukee based on last year and having the LH there certainly buyers as well the decisions come for the other three teams St Louis Pittsburgh in Cincinnati and I guarantee you this all of the fan bases of those three teams want them to go for because they're not convinced in Pittsburgh Cincinnati or Saint Louis thank you Carole Walker that good why would we concede to them why would why they're you know they're not the Houston Astros they're not the LA Dodgers we're not conceding to them go for it so the question is what assets that they had to give back and often times in these situations it doesn't matter what sport it is it's the match up where you have to be lucky what does that mean it means some years there's a lot of receivers available some years there's a lot of corners available some years there's a lot of linebackers available but often times when that happens you don't need any of those things that's one of the reasons are somebody available but every once in awhile you get lucky you need to relieve printer and they've got one you need a first baseman that is for power and they've got one you need a utility infielder and they've got one and really that's what it comes down to for these teams do they have what we're looking for and can we get in for a reasonable price so you expect all of those teams as of right now no maybe something shakes out somebody loses ten out of twelve while somebody else wins ten out of twelve and all of a sudden here eight games all the while Carter six games on the wild card the problem with today's baseball is by adding the wildcard they made the general manager's job very very difficult by adding the fifth wild card and by the way we never go back right when we had a team we change rule we never go back so I was a bad rule we're not doing that anymore or we had into many teams to the playoffs we're gonna take one out we never go back never ever ever do we go back so with five teams it's no wonder that even the Mets one of the worst record nationally except for the Marlins don't know on July fifth whether they want to be buyers or sellers because in their mind anyway even though I think third illusion all in their mind they still have a chance if they get hot I don't think they're good enough so I don't think that it's a a wise decision to pretend you're good when you're not I think that's what losers do that's called stopping at the fork in the road rather than taking one four core the other and living with your decision general managers in particular and managers know this full well an umpire's know this full well and that is you cannot avoid the pain in choosing you must choose an umpire has to call a ball or strike he can't say maybe there's no parking at the fork in the road for a buyer the balls either fair or foul he safer is out it's a ball or it's a strike now these days with video they can get bailed out and be wrong and be fine but not on balls and strikes and some pages are right on the edge as we all know and a hundred people could look at a one fifty could call ball in fifty good call strike and all hundred could be right because it is in the eye of the beholder and it is in the eye of the strike zone if you catch an eighth of an into the strike zone is us right so my point is that when you don't come to make these decisions as a man as a general manager you can't avoid the pain in choosing you must decide whether you're in or not and if you if you go have fastened decide I'm not sure where we enter I don't want to do anything because I just thought you're making a decision you may think you're not when you send a runner at third base is the third base coach you're making a decision when you hold the runner you're making a decision you don't stand there with your hands in pockets you make a call center or hold them but there is no in between safer route there's no in between so you can approach the job he's I don't know for good enough or not you gonna commit you got twenty six days to commit we got less than that because you got to come up with a package that the trading team will accept and that you're willing to part with it's not for the faint of heart it's not for the timid it's not for someone who's afraid to be wrong you cannot operate afraid to be wrong but no one said it was easy see that's the part that all this is so hard yeah it is nobody said it wouldn't be especially if you're in the National League central it's not so hard for the Yankees the Astros the Dodgers because they know when their next big games are and those are in October but if you're trying to get the October in a sport that allows the underdogs sometimes come through we've had wild cards win the World Series and make the World Series both separately when you had that happen in your league I like the NBA where no weight is ever won a championship no seven is ever wanted championship hell no five is ever won a championship no five seed in the NBA has ever won the NBA title ever no five no seven no wait so it's not good enough and that lead to get in it's pretty much meaningless to get in if you're thinking about a championship you're not gonna win one from the seven of the eight spot you're not gonna win one no one ever has black in baseball that's not the case you want to get in in hockey you want to get in so these teams are just thinking I want again to get that one game they're thinking I got a good starting pitcher I got a good closer that's enough in a one game playoff I'll take my chances so there motivation to get in Israel because they think they're getting in unlike the NBA getting in is a stepping stone to winning put it on the soles of position to win so it's hard to say we're going to be sellers and yet Brian Cashman you think about the Yankees that's the best thing he's done since you've been there get to the deadline when you're decide you know what we are not even though we're about five hundred we are not good enough as were constituted I'm going to trade Andrew Miller I'm gonna trader all this Chapman he got back labor doors include Frasier and along with the emergence of judging Sanchez set up the Yankees to be who they are today all because he quit at the deadline not all because of that but in large part because he quit at the deadline even though they were over five hundred so we might be over five hundred but we're not a contender for the American League pennant and I'm not going to pretend we are I'm trading Chapman and I'm trading Andrew Miller and that might have been his finest hour in a in a career that's not a lot of fun hours and a lot of fine players found on the scrap heap like Luke void into your shell so it is hard but it is necessary to admit that you're not good enough and for the Mets for example to hold out and say we're not sure yet for buyers or sellers it's on Alfie in a bad sign for the franchise's future they're not going to win the National League they're not the Dodgers they're not the clubs they're not the Braves they're not gonna win actually and in their heart they know that but if you're going to hold on to your old adage maybe maybe maybe you are going to cycle in the mud you're going to be on a stationary bike get the work in but not going anywhere and that's what happens if you come to the deadline and are wishy washy I can't decide whether you should be enter should be out it takes bold decision making to run a franchise and it takes a lack of fear because guess what you're gonna get fired anyway the thing about the drives me crazy about coaches and general managers and the lack of risk that they take is often that they do it so that they won't get fired well I'm not doing that all get killed in the paper tomorrow if we fake punt and we don't make it we can't fake punt did not make it we'll make it they'll the your call missile kill me you know when you're out anyway this just in maybe a last "Until the end of the day all Freddie opener with you for the next three and a half hours lots to do lots of talk about getting ready for cub baseball later on tonight as they play game three of the series with the pirates another series they can't win it'll be six straight series were they don't get a win as there's a four game where they lost the first two let's see what they can do tonight Darvish going against Chris archer white having Chris archer you'd be just as frustrated as you probably are with you Darvish because he's not what the pirates had thought he was going to be and they gave up Austin meadows and Tyler glass now if you wasn't heard would have been in the all star game also well come on in three one two three three two three seven seven six you can also get to me I'd that Twitter at Fred underscore Huebner lots to do we've got a replay of Anthony Rizzo he was our cap will replace some of that from earlier today at the top of the hour three o'clock Riz was upset you could hear the feet the crowd mica the field Mike yesterday we had a he's trying to get on base the bouncer off the plate and it bounced front of the plate he was none too happy when he got thrown out at first race nothing to get thrown out but that he couldn't get on base and it's been a frustrating run right now for the cubs the caller that we had during cross are brought up the point about how in every baseball season you're gonna get struggles like that and he's true he's right you do he brought up twenty sixteen when the cubs had the struggles right before the all star break do you feel the all that this team after the all star break has what it takes to get on a roll and put away the other teams in the division I mean right now first through last in the National League central just the divided by five and a half games everybody within five and a half games you've got the pirates beat the cubs you got the Reds beat the brewers cardinals are sitting smack dab I think in third soul what are your thoughts about the cubs as they go forward three one two three three two three seven seven six couple of people got to me I'd comatose talking about with the Chapman deal and I've been thinking about this for a month and a couple of times I've contacted by saying people already think I'm dumb but he is every time we see labor Thorez it's like re which Chapman really necessary to win that World Series could you'll want it without him and I know the goal is to win one World Series for the cubs it might have been because you had not one in so long winning one I mean unfortunately that's what Chicago other than the team to play at the United center of don I mean the bulls and Blackhawks you know six out eight and three out of six L. white Sox it'll five the cubs and sixteen the bears and you know eighty five is like okay what is this one and done things you don't need that couple of people getting to me on Twitter Jonathan says don't regret the Japanese trade regret giving up the line and seize for Q. that has the potential to make up for Sammy Sosa trade and Colin says the cubs should absolutely regret trading laboratories the Yankees Wantage warbird were offering Chapman and Andrew Miller for him they could have one in sixteen more easily and cap Thorez I'm not sure about this wording is that's your former was hurt in any came back you know in the World Series of played such a big key role sh warbler is in my opinion the guy that they like too much sh warbirds the guy that at the end of the seventeenth season we sat here and you know the hang over a year and all that stuff and I thought that was the perfect time to trade a couch warmer to the American League toward her in twenty seventeen thirty homers fifty nine RBIs not outstanding but still thirty homers he only had two eleven with the three fifteen a base of four sixty seven slugging user while get better well that wasn't seventeen his slugging it eighteen was for sixty seven the exact same thing is in the eye eighteen I'm sorry was for sixty seven the exact same thing is twenty seventeen and this year his sluggish for seventy so we you're pretty much know what you got you got a couch warmer was gonna hit just home runs is that bases in gonna be great and his log is going to be boy between four sixty seven four seventy that's who he is the columns didn't want to trade in a lot of people that want to trade him because he was the cubs guy he's going to get better well hell figure out left field I don't know all the play the other day in left field you know when Lester was pension he goes back is camped under it reaches up goes office love you can't have these things you can't win with that kind of play the outfield and you know I thought you needed to move toward her you needed to move our moral or spore half while they were here and you know I'm sure there were a lot of people are probably wanted to get a half what he came up was shown what he had what the cubs also thought that boy look would be he's going to develop into the new bands so breast that didn't happen sold your first round draft picks those four years but you get first round draft picks for playing so poorly you get out more on Bryant sh warmer and a half she get MVP you Brian you get out more who's a sometime starter in center he gets warmer who's a DH but he plays left field for the cubs because you don't want to catch in and getting it happens back in a matter strike it out Seoul but you you want a World Series so that's great that's the goal ultimately is one World Series but I wrote it down again sustained success that was the phrase he kept hearing from Theo sustained success now its success will get an a plus four years in a row no doubt which got take that next step and now the question is with as tight as the National League central is one of the cubs have to do in order to get to the playoffs again this year because you are going to have some guys off your payroll coming up next year you are gonna have to make some moves but it's tough in the second half I keep hearing people say well what I'll get what Merrifield are gonna get this guy and actually shot in our upstairs a perfect guy for the cubs would be Leri Garcia we're going to see a complacent or field he can play shortstop we need to do with the cubs have enough of them any lead often get on base give me a perfect guy but who do the cubs have to trade we're gonna get in do OB Albert advert to al's ally also I got a question I just don't that I don't understand but let's go on outside ninety three one two three three two three seven seven six one until the show Freddie opener with yeah we go to Tyler out on the road what's up Tyler thank you for taking my call just wanna make a couple comments and you kind of wraps move them up in that we thought right there which is great I think which you mentioned you know we don't have a lead off and it runs matching that as well but I mean second base we have zero production come out of that right now and I think your your notion of saying for receiving gone seventeen is true and I think that the biggest you hear your lies that were still hooked back twenty sixteen they can always players are gonna turn and all favors at times you to kind of come honest with yourself realize from his players are to be as good as the top which is disappointing so I think bottom line we gotta find a second base and we got a fine upgrade at center field and you know most importantly we got to get this thing rolling again and I think I'll start all star break can come at a better time for right now he's got yeah there's no doubt about it coming in there at a good time in NYC orders a guy that the cubs drafted we appreciate the call Tyler he's gonna be here eventually and be your all your your middle infielder and that'll help I kind of would like to see Kris Bryant stay in one position but Kris Bryant doesn't have a problem with apparently and you know that's okay I guess Hey we're Jason Heyward been such an amazing player over the last month or so what he's been able to do nobody could have expected that happening with Jason a word but it's great to see for him it's just you know you're left field wall was your leadoff woes and what did the hitting slumps at the gym to Shays said something the other day talk in the it was it was yesterday was right about watching the game after the rain delay was weird the socks and because of all the rain delays and stocking was called off he said you look at the cubs they look lifeless at times but your life was because you're just not hitting it's hard to have any kind of up in your step when you're not hitting when you're just turning around make a right turn to head back to the dugout and the cubs are hitting we've asked the question odd number for fragile and Saturdays is what's most important for the cubs to get where they need to be this year pitching you're heading in almost every week the fall comes back is pitching now obviously when you lose you know yup eighteen runs pitching needs to be better you know five runs yesterday you know you're a team that should be able to score some runs in Pittsburgh the cubs couldn't do it comes only had two hits until the eighth inning yesterday but I got two more hats and they scored a run of the nine five it never seen those it was much of a challenge there contraire it's got an RBI yesterday making a five to one the final but they need to do something they need to figure out how to get some guys are based I want to get a base how to score yesterday Chris prize I don't think I saw Chris bye look that bad all season struck out four times yesterday look terrible doing it and that needs to turn around their home road differences absolutely unbelievable and I know there's been talk about a lot you want to jump in three one two three three two three seven seven six comes a one in four on this road trip right now they're sixteen and.

Cardinals at Cubs: What you need to know as two NL Central giants renew rivalry for first time in 2019

"All right moving onto baseball cardinals has long been considered. One of baseball's best rivalries. And with the cardinals in first place in the National League central with one of the best records in baseball and the cubs right on their tail. I ask you shot or no shot. It is currently in twenty nineteen. Baseball's best rivalry. Yeah. I'm going to say in twenty nineteen. It is baseball's best rivalry simply because they're two really good teams fired up fan bases passionate towns. Great ballparks the watch baseball in shop.

"national league central" Discussed on The Tim McKernan Show

"At these some of these kind of stood out as being. Being really high. Like, for example. I mean when you're predicting the Astros to win ninety six and a half games. I know they're talented. But that's a you're sensually predicting one hundred win team there. I mean, obviously, you have a little sweet spot on a landing area of ninety seven ninety eight ninety nine. But that's that's basically what you're saying. And I don't know if you can go into a season look at a team and go that's one hundred win team. And even if you are really high on the team to get there and then maintain that throughout September. If they have a big league in the American League big lead in the American League West. I'm not sure what you're going to get out of that. As far as them playing to win every game over the final couple of weeks of the season. We saw that a decade ago with the two thousand nine cardinals. And then the Yankees at ninety six and a half wins a much improved bullpen, but a questionable rotation. I think they are a dangerous team to win the World Series. But I don't know about winning ninety seven or above games in the American League east. And so therefore I liked the under on the. Ke's at ninety six and a half as a really nice value from a betting standpoint. Not because I don't think they're any good. But because winning ninety seven games is just so difficult in particular in that division. And then if there is an over that I like in major league baseball, there's a couple where you go. My God these numbers are so low, but I still could see it actually covering the under like the Marlins, for example are at sixty three and a half. If there's an over that I like, I would take the Cleveland Indians at ninety and a half based on just how bad that division is expected to be them being able to rack up ninety one wins. That strikes me as a really good play from an over standpoint. As far as a team that might be undervalued on an over under. To go over on. I think, but I I'm not I don't speak with a passionate sense on it. But I think the pirates won't be as bad as seventy seven wins or below. I've seen some predictions that have everybody in the National League central being five hundred or above. And so the pirates are set at seventy seven and a half. And I would I see value in in the standpoint that I think they're better than that. But that isn't one that I would go crazy about I really liked the Yankees under. And as far as an over goes. I really like the Indians over now. USA today updated it since all these free agent signings here over the last couple of weeks because those numbers came out from Las Vegas on February seventeenth USA today. Put a panel together of six people and gave out there projection on win totals. They do have the Yankees barely covering that over. They have him as a ninety eight win team the Red Sox ninety five raise eighty six. And that's the part of my thought process you have to teams that are. Expected to be really good this year. One everybody expects one the kind of flies under the radar and Tampa. They do have Cleveland going over ninety and a half. They have them at ninety three and they have the Astros right in that sweet spot of ninety eight. But here's what they have in the National League central a three way tie for the National League central with all three cubs brewers and cardinals winning eighty nine games. So interestingly enough for all the news that they have made over the last five months and in particular over the last week, they do not have the Philadelphia Phillies winning the division. They also have that one incredibly tight with the nationals and Braves at eighty nine and seventy three and in the Phillies at eight and seventy four what games would teams people like as far as money moving in the consensus is is the Red Sox still, and I think people picture what they were in October. I'm anxious to see how much they continue that momentum in what? Goes on in that division and how much the Yankees have done with their bullpen translates. And then in the National League central, you know, the reds have gotten a lot of attention. I'm just not sure how much that's going to lead to actual wins their their Vegas, total seventy nine and a half. And then in USA today panel they had them at seventy five eighty seven. I'm just not sold on the reds. I'm just I'm just not sold on. I get that they've improved, but I'm just not sold on the reds. Not to say that anybody's talking about him necessarily winning the divisional though, I've seen some people making kind of on a long shot play there. But as far as USA today having him at seventy five in Las Vegas, having him at seventy seven and a half or seventy nine and a half. Excuse me. I understand that thought process. So those are the win totals if I'm making my place for the purpose of officially making the play for the twenty nine thousand nine season here is where I am the one that I think I like the most on an. Over is the Indians and as far as an under. It's the Yankees. And again, I could see the Yankees winning the World Series. It's just a matter of having that win total in that division. I think that will be awfully tough at the same time. You do have the Baltimore Orioles. And the Blue Jays in that division. So they could rack up some wins there. So with that said if I had to bet I would take the cardinals and the eighty eight and a half over on that your questions are welcoming the triad Bank viewer chat line, send them in whether you'd be watching on Facebook. MLB -- Cole Hamels giving Chicago Cubs just what they needed

"In baseball including for, the Washington. Nationals who enter. Tonight's play six games behind the Phillies for first place in. The NFL east Atlanta of course in. Second four and a half games in front of. The nationals is Washington's had a good week in terms of record but they haven't really gained any ground in their playoff chase the nationals sit right. Now four and a half behind the Braves for the second wildcard spot in the National League is well Atlanta also off tonight only the. Phillies out of the top three teams in the NFL east playing and Philadelphia's in Arizona with a scoreless game in the fourth the Braves And nationals will actually play each other in a four game series that starts tomorrow with a. Double header tonight Jake Arrieta facing Zach godly at chase field, area was, Owen four, with a six sixty six ERA in June four, and with, a two eighty in July this is his first start in the month of August Phillies. Have played well against the, nationally west in fact they've played above. Five hundred against every division they've encountered this year only the cubs Yankees and Red, Sox can, say the same the Diamondbacks in first place to in the National League West as Arizona tied with the dodgers entering today's, play LA is off so Zona could go back up, a half game if they win in Colorado tonight the Rockies lead the pirates to nothing in the fifth Rockies two games out of. The. NFL west spot. As far as I place goes actually further out of the wild card two and a half games behind Atlanta for that second wildcard spot, so Kyle Pitching tonight against Joe. Must grove Colorado scored two in the fifth. To take to nothing lead on the pirates bad news for Pittsburgh they've lost six of their last ten after winning eleven straight. Games good news one nine out of their. Last twelve at Coors field they'll have. Some time to come back tonight in Denver cubs lead the royals two to one that games in the seventh inning. At Kauffman stadium Cole hamels has only allowed one run. So far in his first two starts as. A member, of the cubs that run came in the second inning tonight the. Cubs got a couple back hobby or bias with this twenty, fifth home run of the year is the third fastest cubs second baseman twenty five home runs in a season only Ryan sambergen. Nineteen ninety and Rogers Hornsby in nineteen twenty nine. Got there more quickly than by, as this year as the cubs have a lead and then a place they have not played very often. Just their fourth trip ever to Kansas City Miami beat Saint Louis earlier, two to one certainly that helps things for the National League central. And wow Wildcard teams involved with the cardinals who take a step back after losing against the Marlins way in, Chen has been very. Good in south Florida this year just not so good outside of. It Chen, with a one ninety four ERA at home ten twenty. Seven on the road he beat Luke Weaver tonight havi garra got the save for the Marlins Starling Castro hit a home run in the Miami. Two one win over the cardinals and the American League Yankees trying on a different color of socks and this time it worked out a little bit better. For them they lead the Chicago White Sox seven to nothing in the eighth inning labor tore and Neil Walker of hit home. Runs for the Yankees tonight I start as a Yankee for Lance Lynn he worked seven scoreless innings at guaranteed rate field the Red Sox are off so the Yankees will make up a half game tonight they'll be nine games out so long as they hang on to beat the White Sox tonight. Yankees haven't won a road series in a. Month trying to get off to a good start in Chicago Cleveland blinked Minnesota ten nothing is Trevor Bauer struck out. Eleven to get his eleventh win powered. Our two hundred six strikeouts on the season that's, a career high for him and. It makes him one of. Just four Indians pitcher since nineteen twenty to. Get to. Two hundred or. More strikeouts in the first twenty four starts of a season Corey kluber did it last year Sam McDowell and Bob feller. The other two Bauer beat Kyle Gibson tonight yonder Alonso Brandon Guyer. Jason kipness Senate went Encarnacion all hit home runs for the Indians they have a ten game lead now in the AL central Seattle could. Use a win they were up three nothing at. Texas but now that game is tied three three. In the eighth Mike Xenos, said a home run for the Mariners in that game. Seattle normally scores a lot of runs in Arlington averaging nearly eight per game over there last. Six, contests at globe life park in Texas but just three tonight and trying to come back and recap Capture the lead. Against the Rangers tonight, Seattle two and, a half behind Oakland for the second, wildcard spot in the. American League the as two and a half behind the Yankees for. The first wildcard. Spot although Oakland off tonight so they'll, fold a three games behind the.
