"Configuration in july. And it's going to cost six and a half thousand euros leasing though right so then. They would li she one of these. So if you want to start a business or start a side. Hustle delivering packages awesome leasing. Starts it twenty four euros eighteen cents a month. It's just unbelievably cheap The way they've done it is they put in a the passenger seat. Put a modular shelf. They say a secondary shelf unit can hold forty kilograms and has been designed as a storage or as a mobile desk where they cut out a four size. The can foams and paperwork. There's an adjustable floor next to the driver. The cargo floor can be raised in locked vertically so as not to obstruct the cog ozone or load into a horizontal position to match the level of the vehicle floor. The latter position allows carrying of items one point two meters long. And you know. When i saw this i kind of laughed. I chuckled. i thought oh that will be a nice funny and finally story on the podcast. Leave him laughing all that kind of stuff and then the martha about it thought. Well this is brilliant because there are so many packages in inner cities. At least the would go into a vehicle like this. Don't need a big stinky diesel van. How many times as have happened to you. Know have you had a delivery turn up and maybe a lodge wagon or lodge van. Even laurie has tied up inside your house and a couple of times. I've seen them roll up the big back door and there's like three postles inside and sometimes even just my own and i'm thinking why aren't they sent a vic olympic. Just because they. They've got on their fleet now. I don't live in a in any more. We moved at london a few years ago. I'm down by the beach these days but when i was in london Certainly a lot of my friends and colleagues would use amazon's one hour. One hour delivery on amazon was that same day. I think it was like i forget now because we're not where i live isn't big enough to have that so i kind of lost interest in that same amazon thing but it was certainly very very quick it. It was like oh. I need some batteries for that kids present. I'm getting more older than amazon. They'll be here in an hour or so and again. I did work in. You know w one central london. This kind of vehicle is ideal for those. Not just for uber eats and deliver. Not just bringing food to people's desks whenever we did go back to offices and things like that but generally any small ish postle that will fit in a vehicle. Like this is safe. Four wheels has a roof but of a heater. You know so much better than a logical probably more comfortable and practical in terms of how much you can have onboard the using cycle couriers. Which again. I see used to see tons of in in london using those kind of those electric cargo bikes with the big storage on the front. This is absolutely brilliant for twenty five euros a month to leases. Why wouldn't you try and build a business around a fleet of these. If or or if you operate a fleet of vehicles and you need ten or twenty of these in the middle of london. Paris new york to just to get around quickly. You can drive into parking spaces front. It's so shorts. Charging might be an issue. If it takes three ounce to charge fully but going back you do a series of runs that use a quarter of the battery or something and then you go back some short loop to a dep- or something then you get back you plug in immediately. Go through the paperwork. Maybe having enforced drive a bright gun. We have lowest over how long you can drive and then load up the next postles off. You go if you always opportunity charging whenever the vehicle is stopped this could be a perfect solution. Maybe needs a slightly bigger battery and a slightly longer range. But i don't know. I think i think they're onto something here. He's brilliant forty seven miles seventy five kilometers. That's going to go down when it's cold but still i love it. I was going to make a joke out of it. I'm so sorry for that. Assumption brilliant this could revolutionize last mile deliveries in big up in areas citron. I love you for doing this just so so. Cool all right. Let's move on. Let's talk about postal developing a an app a beater app available this european markets bringing a streaming service to the android powered touchscreen in the middle of the car to keep you entertained while you're charging says future car dot com they. The news on national tv will be available first of all. svp in sweden tv to annoy. Go play and in belgium. Plus bbc aljazeera and postal signing the check specific to other markets will be added if you streaming video center screen and you take out of park. The screen tons off says the article here but the audio continues which is great. I don't know if you poke. They'll pull youtube into this. I mean surely not driven upholsterer. To and played with the youtube stuff. But it's based on android android auto. It is android so youtube already. You'll be really highly integrated but how does that work with their own player. That's really really cool more entertainment. I love the way that the companies thinking different about vs giving drivers more options to to to use that calls for different things rather than the traditional car makers have done. So i can think tesla for that one. I think in terms of that big screen and using as an entertainment center next. We'll talk about supercharging foot boats. I found this one on instagram. This is so cool. Says the post charging one hundred and fifty two kilowatts. The world's first supercharge a boats opened today says the account electric voyage if you avoid following them on instagram. That looks really cool. And an you know marine and aviation are a couple of areas where it's going to be so hard to get fossil fuels out of certainly with marine if i can get some more batteries in boats in the really good Charging them superchargers but a really good charging that what i love. It just really made me smile. That's a great weekend story and other posts. That made me smile walls. The news about mac as arriving in norway and this was a twitter post from the account. Mac e. underscore wlac starting deliveries now in norway. A pick taken on the twenty eighth of april with hundreds of thousands. But at least hundreds of mackie's all lined up in a protective clothing after being shipped. Its just come off the ship. Of course here in the port. Four thousand amac is going to be delivered norway this month next as well in hotel. Which if they're all norwegian market will make the best selling car of the year so far sorry bestselling. She may be best selling car. It's the four followed by testimonial three but four thousand dollars in may and june. We'll put this one. I would think. I think it puts it in the lead in norway. I love this site. If you're watching the version of this show. I love all. I love pictures like this because it's just each one of those. It's just a picture of cars as far as the eye can see but when you think about every one of those is a new owner a knee family. Someone who's been waiting for this vehicle. Who are just going to be so pumped about driving a really really cool electric vehicle. A love stories like this makes me smile next. We'll talk about tesla and their self. Self-driving automated driving features which tessler insist is level to. Don't call it any more than that. Of course this uses the sl levels level to is driver assistance. Now get really angry when i talk about this because i get emails and comments and and people say to me that i'm dumbing down armlock giving tesla the price that they deserve for that at full. Self-driving which is going to drive the cause You know robo taxis and stuff. I mean there's any anyway but they really have drunk. The kool aid bother to do any independent thinking of themselves articles like this electronics. Weekly reporting the a conference call between California's dmv and a tesla themselves. Tesla's engine is were talking about the self driving features as its labels and The dmv said An an official body in california saying ilan's tweet does not match the engineering. Reality tesla is at level to tesla indicators. So they're engineers whether they you know the dmv should be saying this not as a confidential uncle of indicated they are firmly in level. Two and tesla is aware about public misunderstanding about the limits of the technology and its misuse and can have tragic consequences. And i think that's a real key actually the And again i try and try and hold people's criticism of me at bay because i'm always praising tesla's suite of driver assistance systems but that's all it is it's it's probably the best out there on the market at the minute but it helps driver. It's not intended to do any more than that. And it does have tragic consequences and let me remind you of this one mr saying in december twenty twenty and i quote. I'm extremely confident. The tesla will have level five next year extremely confidence. One hundred percents and quote said elon. Musk only in december last year. So he is referring to sometime before the end of this calendar year the call's being level five and i'm not gonna talk about the the levels zero to five right now because you can find them online level five no steering wheel the vehicle will handle every possible circumstance that it faces and doesn't default back to a human so doesn't default back to a driver in the car doesn't fall over and default back to a remote drive say in a you know in in kind of kicked off a somewhere thousands of miles away that it can handle every situation every weather condition on its own elon musk. I'm confident we'll get level five next year so in other words this year extremely coveted one hundred percents help people do great things but sometimes you go up. Bs when you see it next. I'll talk about tesla's self-driving mode on city streets and how it gets unfair criticism because there is one particular video that's been online and i haven't talked about it on this podcast yet. You probably if you're a fan of tesla saying this. It's a video of self driving published and measurable. Uk describe it as thirteen minutes of terra. Maybe they're going for clicks other note It's comically bad about how terrible the car is. It's very concerning driving through downtown. Oakland is nothing like the wide boulevards and predictable traffic patterns of suburbia. The tesla didn't know what to do with itself says this article at one point the car goes into a left turn only lane but drives straight towards some cows they say it is a harrowing thirteen minutes of youtube. The call gets honked turns slowly as much usually because it seems to think pedestrian is nearby. Yeah i watched this when it was first posted if it was real and whether it was faked it looked pretty real. I didn't talk about it at the time because you know for every video posted by someone who you know. He loves full. Self-driving they'll be something you know against it. West saying those people that do have access to the beta software. The minute hand picked by tesla the promising to open it up to a much wider base. I think that'd be very good when they do that. Because we'll see some more real life examples online this. This person seemed to have an extra grind. This article seems to have an axe to grind. Or maybe like a site. Maybe it's just gonna clicks while. I think it's really critical of a system that is clearly in an environment which it wasn't designed for and i know the tesla fans will tell me hey full. Self-driving beta is just the businees. Do everything will cope with every situation. But it's really really not and we shouldn't be Kind of getting mixed up in terms of our friends our family the wider public. How the media talk about that and thinking the alcazar in any way. Dr himselves before the end of the year next. We'll talk about the mercedes. Benz e q s getting on boxed. And that will be by. Yes Unbox therapy and lewis from the youtube channel who has millions of subscribers this video with mercedes benz e curious I watched that has two million views or any and he gets up close and personal with the mercedes benz. He loves it. He says it's like stepping into a piece of technology than stepping into a car. And he loves the lighting. He played with the seats for ages. He played with a lot of stuff. That i didn't i haven't seen almost launch videos around the advocacy loves the doors that close themselves. That's pretty cool. But you know model x. Does that but certainly the way that he was playing around with the The seat controls and the lumbar support. And though just like the the way that the u. I works it looks really really good. And none of the launch video so remote into that. 'cause they were too busy talking about at battery sizes and why you can't lift up her and you have to open up a with little flappy in the side of the concept but you wash it fluid in butts well worth watching if you've got some time this weekend He does He writes it very very highly. And he's a tycoon owner. Or maybe he's a test and it's like on. I believe And he says it's just pure luxury pure luxury and he needs he said in the video spoil it but You need a week in this car to fully explore all the various bits of next. I'll talk about how colin dealers are embracing electric vehicle sales. Because i think the get really hard time sometimes some of them bring themselves this article from the las vegas review journal. I found written by coppola. Who says that. Nevada also dealer. Who's been in the business before the two years this chap rights. I can assure you we want to sell electric cars. That is as a powerful sleek and long range and with the ongoing expansion of infrastructure makes it more convenient today's dealerships so in person and almost all have an option to sell online. Like at your house. If you want direct to consumer company so many ev companies. Don't have anything like a dealership model. Many of the new onslaughts ups will simply want to do a direct model To to sell that car a direct to consumer They won't budge on price. Competition between neighbouring dealers has proven to drive down prices on the model he writes in this article In two thousand twenty nevada's hundred new car dealerships responsible for ten thousand jobs playing an average salary of seventy three thousand dollars. I'm in the wrong job. To go. Sell calls in las vegas because it really interesting point actually that this chap hey writing in the journal science look good and bad out the But it a dealership as a dealer he wants to sell good electric cars And the Is a big fan. I think dealers guy a bad reputation sometimes good and bad experiences on the nih. Our way is creating an av for drag racing. The national hot rod association adding electric vehicle clausewitz drag racing events chevrolet and ford of. Roy showed us what they can do with. Electric power. says this article With the echo camaro macabre jet fourteen hundred now the close dave ewing in two thousand nine twenty two at the summit racing series. I will see. Evt's racing against each other in their own class. And maybe they did this because they were under pressure other because whenever you. I don't know about you whenever i want you to drag racing video. The ways wins and so i wonder if they were like look. We're just gonna put vs in their own class because whenever the gulf against the fossil car they spank it so make the race together. Then that way vacant have that little race an hour noisy smelly combustion cows which really slow in comparison. Well let them have a little turn. Winning very sad losing. That might not be what so what you know. I'm naturally cynical about these things. Thank you very much for listening and watching today on your saturday. Special edition of the podcast. A usual interviews. We do it. The weekend will return very soon as she lining up. Gooden very soon question of the week tomorrow..

Yeah i think he's crashing into. That's why i kinda like him. The rivalry was a huge hit. And not just with the kids. Pair of brothers wants showed up for a meet and greet one with a snake tattoo on the arm and the other with a mongo stat tattoo. Wow mangala Yeah they asked mcewen and presumed a sign underneath their animals then promptly headed to the tattoo parlor to get the autographs inked on permanently. This is weird It is a weird feeling. There's a few people with lightning tattoos. There's a at least one to. I've seen to mow power baby tattoos and then a couple of donut tattoos. And it's like it's it's i think it's cool. It's cool it. I mean it's yeah it's it's it's awesome to like. Have something that like. We made that people love so much that they would do that. It's it's also strange. It's a strange feeling are easier. It's like because because we made it. We're like it's not. That cool is just a joke. I guess people. I like that people think is cool. I think Yeah for the next few years snake. Among those had a symbiotic relationship regularly competing in match races for enthusiastic crowds including kids. You're getting a chance to see their toys brought to life like toy story but with nitromethane soured somewhat in nineteen seventy three who they made it. It's called cars thing. Soured somewhat nineteen seventy-three when carefree gum a major sponsor of the wildlife team dropped out. Mcewan left the team and got sponsored by the. Us navy a natural partnership given his dad's given his dad service in the military branch giving new meaning to navy. Accelerate your life. When snake learned of this you went out and got sponsorship from the us army without informing moncus. Whoa now the rivals had sponsors. Who themselves were legendary rivals. You watch college football you know. That army vs navy is always one of the most hyped games of the season. They bring up special uniforms just for it. Navy's this year is like waves. it's wavy is at its japanese traditional wave or is it like a normal wave. No it's like if you're on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean during a storm and he looked straight down. Oh i like that. It's cool the creepiest kind of waves. Oh yeah i see it. Deep water waves baby tepe waterway. Voshel you don't wanna see that you don't wanna know about that. You don't want to know about that. That basketball doesn't roll off. The side of the state also have the reputation for having a hot temper unusual for such a cold blooded animal who when his mechanic forgot to replace the filter plug while changing the oil before race. Snake was humiliated when after he was pushed to the line he tried to pull a burnout and a spew of oil flew from his engine soaking the driver inside his car. That was hot. Yeah he still wanted to race waving his guy over to try and find the plug. If a kid. I would've stuffed the mechanics. Hand down the oil pop years. It as plug called the plug or a hand was nowhere to be found in snake tried to get out of his car. Ready to swing and his mechanic in retaliation for the costly error. The only problem was that the snake was so slick with oil. He couldn't wriggle out of his car. Every time he got a little bit out he'd slide right back in all the while screaming at his mechanic. Who by now doubled over not from blow from snake but with laughter. This guy's do. We'd like you messed up. You got hot oil over your boss know you're laughing. At meanwhile nineteen seventy four chance. Business deal would bring the hyun in prudhoe and unexpected financial boom. A man named skip tests had a bicycle company called bmx products. You wanted to increase his reach by creating a low cost brand that would focused on selling bikes and scooters to kids and he thought the mongoose name would be perfect. He was right. The company soon turned into a billion dollar brand. That still sold at walmart today. And chances are if you are key to the nineties you are one of your friends had a goose. My buddy bergdorf had a mongoose burke ours among us a dino wait i which. Bmx company. Matt hoffman ride for offman bikes often. I had to do you used to be a mex- yeah can you. Do you think you could sell buddy up. Yeah i've never seen you on a skateboard. I've never seen you on a bmx bike. Yeah i'm old. My i like serious bike. Had huffy when i was a kid i two hobbies and then i have red line which i was super proud of. I'd love that thing. Love my red line. I was never good enough at either of those things. Joe to like translate into adulthood. Well the weirdest thing is. I'm i buy a car from a guy that sold james his first carnell a and he said that When james went to buy his first car his girlfriend said that he's been skateboarding everywhere. And i've never seen skateboard let alone use it for transportation. Oh i used to skateboard from like century city to Wilshire and western of what train station almost every day. That's crazy joe. Hartzler were like the road warriors. Yeah while they're match races made them a household name within official national hot rod association events. The snake versus mongoose rivalry was more of a side story. The annual nhra contest held at lucas oil. Raceway in indianapolis was typically a field of the top sixteen cars competing in head to head contests until a winner was crowned in one thousand nine hundred sixty seven. Yeah since There's only two guys at a time. It's like a bracket at a drag event in nineteen sixty seven. The nhra finally relented to the popularity of the funny cars and added a second category for them of these races. Don one the main category in sixty nine seventy as well as seventy three. Seventy four seventy seven and eighty nine in the funny cars. That's a dry spell right there. You know a brother like staying in it for twelve years of.

"You bye bye Friday the thirteenth no less Charmaine sent me an email I've mentioned South Korea how are they able to test somebody she said the reason South Korea could be testing because of the the sars the South Korea got stuck behind when the sars virus happened they said that that day would that they would never be caught like that again yeah they had already stockpiled masking testing kits for the sars in warehouses so when it happened they were ready now this yeah I know the covert nineteen is not the sars but it's it's kind of a derivative or a cousin there close close relative of the sars virus so we have sounds like they're testing kits are working properly let's see that was a memo that was shared by Sean Hannity apparently so good thank you for the update and get right back to the acute hearing centers dot com listener line morning always move in morning thank you for taking my call you got to have a great morning yeah and I had sent you an email I tried to send you an email I don't know if you got it or not trajectory that we are on an compared to Italy how you can get it so anyway it was on it's an article it was a ground and it came from at times place and it's my company had sent it to me and it shows that the US and Italy are on the same we are on the same trajectory path Italy was full when they got here you were taught you after I had called in last night you quoted over opposition from Italy he was talking about how they were overwhelmed but they didn't have any beds in the intensive care units to fill up all the patients and all that this particular article this graph and look it up here but it does explain that in it and it showed this graph of how we're progressing the same way that they are and that that is why everything is shutting down is because yeah cheerfully thought she's from the National Institute for health is correct then there would be like two point five million cases of this disease this year and over three hundred and fifty thousand deaths from it and that you know if they're trying to shut everything down so that we don't get overwhelmed because you only have so many machines so many bad someone everything's alright can space it out over time low the spread down right right right so that was part of that that was part of that was what I had sent you in the tank and I am of the email and I also said that I was still going to go on living but I am making some adjustments one being instead of going to the past Kroger's I went to the little local deli that's family owned and operated fully normally shop so I went there to get my food and I'm good with that chart with the smaller containment I plan on using the drive through instead of walking into the bank and I should text to some of my physically compromised Branson said block won't be around to see you no I haven't yeah no one on our unit that I'm aware of has tested positive for them but I could have picked up a pass somebody anywhere and I might be a killer and not have any idea and so I'm just not gonna kick myself around some people but I'm still going to go ahead with my life and and enjoy it so the the woman that you ask the question about the testing I went online and I looked about how long does it take to make a vaccine and for the for the vaccine itself it would be a miracle if you can get it done in a year right after that we yup thanks for that thing so the testing is interesting the testing number one in the United States you have to have a doctor's order for you cannot just walk up and go I want to be tested for so no one is being denied past work and as for the testing when they do the PCR which is a slap in the back of the throat there are three parts to that and you have to be tested positive on all three parts and the reason is is like to park to pick up the sars that third part makes it this particular Colonna gang violence and so you have to have all three parts working well that is only going to pick it up if you are actively ill the other differences the Salalah do you were going to do a blood draw and that is just like having anything else where they're checking to look to see if there were other bodies in your blood that said yes you were exposed to you were fighting at some point in time and so there is there is that so I don't know what you know what South Korea has a strong group of people just drive about getting testing for number one obviously they're not needing a doctor's opting for it and it could very well be like the other one so they got stockpiles of the test but here in the United States you have to have a doctor's order they did they do have the tough catch we did send them out and there is a technical glitch correct where there were some are questioning as to you know do we have to do all three that we do too we were getting some false positives because you have to do there are certain when they submit test out you have to do trial tested make sure that you're testing your test cases test right and when they sent out the test kits we would test like five hundred to seven hundred technicians with one check in the article that I read that on here's okay so all of this information was on track sure dot org and the name of the article was the facts on the virus testing by Jessica McDonald and it was dated three ten twenty okay and it's a fascinating article and explains all about it and that he got the guy to answer yes we Bungle that because you know it your progress so fast and they and they sent the check out but you know you have president trump and and vice president pence and some other guy said yes we have all the kids yes we're testing they're doing wonderful and they're reporting what they're being told you know they're not actually down there telling all homemade tests there are they're being told after being sent out yesterday following a report that but there were some glitches when they when they got to where they were supposed to go because there was this confusion because they were dealing with street level local level level and federal level and you only have so many labs around the areas that contrasts with the whole article spells out I should have taken more nets but anyway that's the article that that is very interesting it was very informative and it it it brought it clears a whole lot of things up so I just wanted to share that with everybody very good luck what would what would your learning more with each passing day right that's the idea okay in our legals get a quick time out right we'll get right back to the phones after this on a two year H. "So at Broomhead Katie ours where you can find me but you can also find the show at Broomhead show on Twitter a woman named Angela asked a very good question just about twenty minutes ago why are kids still in school if the major sporting programs are shutting down and we're not going into arenas we already know classrooms are a Petri dish ask any teacher that gets sick every year because the kids in a class or his or his class get sick why are we still sending kids to school what would that do to the financial and business world if we shut down the schools and parents don't have child care is there a real chance and I don't think that that's coming immediately and I'm not trying to start panic but at what point with all the powers with the government has what what level how bad does it have to get for that to happen well we start canceling classes the Pima school district shut down classes today because of the scare there was a a student that had an unknown illness that was being tested and until the test results come back with a positive or negative for covert nineteen they closed down classes for today as a precaution we know we know that there are new numbers released this morning by by Arizona there have been no increases of positive tests or a presumptive positives for covert nineteen in Arizona that is good news the testing that continues and are we testing enough people do we have enough caskets all of those questions are valid questions but the precautions were taking now looking to see what the numbers due in the coming days and these are all great questions as of right now the Dow Dow is down two thousand points which dropped eight point zero seven percent today S. and P. down to twenty three the the nasdaq has dropped dramatically today as well will that hold out forever or for the rest of the day we don't know we are seeing a huge correction in the stock market over the past couple weeks it is now officially the end of this run for four of the eleven year run we've had what happens next in the world economy especially here in the US but US reacting to what we've seen happen in other places so we can't I'm not saying the state of Washington handled anything wrong but they had this first big influx in Washington the big number of cases in the deaths that happen in the state of Washington so the other states in the union started looking at what we do so we are reacting with an abundance of caution with the declaration of a state of emergency what will happen down the road are we going to end up saying in a couple of weeks we canceled spring training for nothing look at all the money we lost for nothing or are we gonna say we've avoided becoming like Italy so imagine if the economy of Arizona three hundred and sixty five days a year was as dependent on its survival with tourism like spring training like Italy is now that's not the only industry in Italy but it is such a huge part of their economy huge part of the Italian economy's in tourism and when you take that away that is a big piece of how the government survives in taxation how every business and hotel restaurant buses transportation what they've done there for tourism is amazing I just had someone sent me a message and this is again somebody sent me a message and told me there is a an NHRA or national hot rod association as a result we have the drag races here they have a thing there in Gainesville called the Gator national and they say that was canceled the governor of Florida and then someone asked the question so then when does when does Disney shut down went to Disney world and Disneyland shut down I don't know if they ever shut down but I guarantee you there is a dramatic drop in people that are going people are not going in those numbers not like they used to so of course you know here it at K. "One hundred eighty seven miles he said earlier this as violence wise the shortest race on the NASCAR Winston Cup series? But it's also in many respects it's most demanding, and we're happy, you're with us today in cinema. I'm ally. Gold Barney hall taking this weekend off. Hopefully rejoin us, again next week in Charlotte. We've got however, the rest of the Marin crew positioned all around this rolling countryside here in the sonoma's valley to follow this eleven turn twisting road course and the NASCAR Winston Cup save mart three hundred house. The cars come by this pit road area here at the start finish line. There is one thing that immediately jumps out at you. Pit road is able to accommodate far fewer cars than the forty-three starters that we have in the race today. Consequently, the inside portion of the race track, which is normally home to the NHRA the national hot rod association when they come out and run here in late July, while much of that area, the stage. Ging area if you will for the drag racers has now been converted into an auxiliary Winston Cup pit area. And Jim Phillips, it puts those teams at an advantage in one respect but NASCAR is going to make sure they don't get too much of an advantage on anybody. Yes, they are you li-. There's nine teams it's inside this race track between each part of this race track that will come out of the pits at probably could beat every one of these teams on this side after they get their work done. But after they pit they will be assessed at twelve second penalty to make it even art as even as they can get it here. This afternoon used to be here at cinema when the Sears point raceway. They would pit the cars on the garage area side. But this time they're on the inside nine teams in there that will be assessed at twelve second penalty every time they pit to make it easier for those cars to get to their pitched. All obviously is the fact that they can come off turn. Number eleven a hard right hand turn and just stay on the inside perimeter of the race track. They don't have to go near. As far to their Pitztal as do the teams who have to go to the outside of turn number eleven and swing towards the conventional pit road. So NASCAR has mandated that penalty in time to make things as basically as even as possible. Why don't we take you around this race track now two point five two miles around here at the start finish line with the Winston Cup series bridge spanning over this main straightaway. The cars will go roughly one hundred fifty to two hundred yards past the start finish line and make turn number one, a hard left turn that begins taking them up hill through this California countryside. They will eventually continue that climb towards the top of the hill, and turn number two. Whereas we have seen in years past the track gets narrow and many teams have had a non of problems over the years. Joel more of Hampton Virginia's there as he has been for the last five visits out here. Thanks one of the most difficult parts turn to the fact that when you're coming up the hill, you really can't see what's ahead of you. What you get to the top of the. Hill. Then it's a hard right hander across a little bit of a bump hero. The track horse then downhill to turn three turned three is a left-hander, which takes you guess you'd call it up and around goes around the hill here before you enter it, four half of this particular, little, shoot goes uphill. The other half goes downhill, turn four a hard hairpin to the right and that takes you straight back downhill to the entrance of what we call the carousel the carousel VO is anything but an amusement park ride for these Winston Cup and Winston west drivers. It's a demanding portion of the race track with braking and shifting. And you basically run out of hands and feet trying to get through the Carrizo correctly. Fred Armstrong from Portland, Oregon, his way up in the sky at Papa scissor lift looking down upon the carousel and swaying back and forth as a wind begins to whip over the top of the hills sonoma's here. This is a high speed roller coaster for the drivers out here after they come down and make that turn number five corner. It's a hard right hand turn, they're going to go up about thirty feet in the air, and it's very rapid rise to the top of a hill, then they're going to descend about forty feet down through the carousel hard. Left one hundred and eighty degrees sweeping, turn that, for the most part will tend to want to throw the race card of the outside of the race tracks of the drivers will have to struggle to get it down to the inside and hold the groove. This is a good passing area. Also a good area to set up for the past if the guy in front of is a little loosen moves out, you can get your nose in there and make the pass down the straightaway. We'll cover all the action on the outside thirty feet in the air at the carousel won. The team's exit the carousel. They will eventually make a hard left turn go beneath the Hoosier bridge, which is on the runoff area of the NHRA, drag strip that runs right up the middle of Sears point at the head end of that drag strip up near the ashes, as Allan Beswick of Daytona Beach, Florida position just outside what is noticed turned seven here at Sears point he lie. It's a raw hard, one hundred eighty degree right hand. Turn you go completely back around the other way. And it's one of the very best places to pass on this quarter because it's a transition spot from one of the fastest parts of the race track to one of the slowest parts of the race track that run off area from the NHRA drag strip is a high speed high gear straightaway. Then you come up. You make a little tiny. Bank to the left and stop on the break shift from fourth to third to second slow all the way down almost a slow as you'll get on this course to make that right? Hand, hairpin turn. If you can outbreak someone getting into this corner, you can pick up a couple of spots coming through the ashes you'll eventually begin a bit of a downhill swing towards the eventual far end of this race. Course. Layup, they'll go beneath that who's your bridge yet again. But on the outside of the bridge this time directly beneath the feet of Dan Hubbard of Anaheim, California. The SS are very treacherous part here at Sears point international raceway. It's a left right left, right combination. And the reason is treacherous has because while the drivers are seesawing back and forth on the wheel. They're also going slightly downhill, so they're constantly gathering speed. So they Winston Cup driver, literally slides the car from the left to the right. Gathering speed all the way down to the end of the SS or he's doing better than one hundred and thirty miles an hour. Now it's very treacherous because to the driver's left, they're solid, dirt and bang to the drivers. Right. A tyre wall and a guardrail there is no margin for error. It's very. Fast. It's tough to pass and it's easy to make a mistake. That's the is here at Sears point international, then as you leave the SS the downhill continues beneath the Winston Cup series bridge behind the grandstands here in the main viewing area at the start finish line. It's a straight shot albeit a high-speed shot to turn number eleven will you really stand on the break Senate is under breaking that we have seen a number of the top teams manage to pass intern eleven which is really a high speed hairpin, which swings you all the way back around in front of this main pit area. And eventually back to the start finish line once more that climb up the hill through turns one up to where Joel Moore described his area, shortwhile ago. So that's the tour of Sears point their national raceway far slower than we'll be taking it here in just about fifteen seconds. The pole sitter, Ernie urban remember he started second here previously. But back in nineteen Ninety-two was black flagged for jumping the start of the race. You have to go to the rear of the field and came all the way back to win it. Today. Elmo Langley, pulls the Ford safety car out of harm's way. Green flag is in the ear in the air quickly, Ernie Irvan through the gearbox holds the inside grew against Mike. Martin Ricky Rudd holds third that it's Labadie getting shuffled out a fourth. Earnhardt.

"One thousand ten forty seven. Great city, Chicago. Brian Windhorst coming up at top of the hour. Talk NBA class Jesse when he touches down from DC cubs. That's at eleven twenty five r guy, my dear friend, Scott. Paddock presence goggle speedway is in our studio. Good morning, my friend. Good morning. Good to see you, Deb -solutely. So what tell us what's coming up at the speedway, so. Well, we're, we're talking straight-line racing today. We've got the fastest form of motor sports on the planet. The national hot rod association coming to route sixty six raceway may thirtieth through June. Second two weeks from today and two weeks from this past weekend. So we're excited names like John force, and Brittany force and, and Tron Brown who we were visited with recently. So we're, we're gonna have a lot of fun. And those cars goes zero to three hundred four seconds zero to three thirty five and under four seconds what, what they will. Tell you these drivers is it's analogous to what an astronaut feels during liftoff of the space shuttle five G, but the difference is after they get down that two thousand foot, Mark. Then they pull the shoot the parachute, and it's that in reverse of think of the physical duress drivers are faced with during that four to six second window. Are you also have your big presence with Scotland speedway in NASCAR? That's right. And a couple of about a month later, we're going to be welcoming the best stock car drivers in the world, Chicago speedway for NASCAR summer festival weekend. Full-on carnival barbecue competition Olympic size swimming pool in the midway anything you think of the summer festival, we're going to have a cat. That's June twenty-seventh through the thirtieth, and who is your music this year. Leave rice country, Grammy nominated artists Lee Bryce can be built in it out on Sunday before that Camping World four hundred. So even if you're not an avid stockcar racing fan. This has something for everyone again that summer festival feel to it. Great escape. From life, daily pressure to come out and create some great family memories. What, what terms of how many people will be there? What do you anticipate? So on the NASCAR side of next month. It's the state of Illinois largest spectator sporting event when we'll have well over one hundred thousand fans converged from states, all around all around the country in the event will be broadcast in one hundred seventy countries around the globe, huge economic engine for our region. So we had two drivers fighting over the weekend. Clint Boyer was fighting and your guy flaying Ryan Newman. Right. We've had on the show and I like him. So does that help the sport? I, I think it does. I think so too. And if you think of old school NASCAR, you know Dale Earnhardt. Yarbrough buddy Baker, Bobby Allison. That's what it was about. I mean, when you're going a hundred ninety five miles an hour for three hours and some guy or gal makes a bad decision and takes you out or reduce your position and finishing a million dollars on the line Saturday night at that all star racing Charlotte, that's going to upset you. And that's what happened to Clint Boyer was actually on the cool down lap that Newman got into a little bit made them hit the wall. He's like, hey this is a good car that maybe I can't race the rest of the year now. And, and I'm not too happy about it. Yes. So they went at it. I think it's great because it's just entertaining. The non fan is entertained by these two guys going at it and the fan pick sides. Yep. Absolutely. Absolutely. So people want to get tickets to go either NHRA or both. Yep. You can go NHRA may thirtieth through June second route sixty six raceway dot com, surely Chow down is going to a grand marshal, how. Piney early seventies. But one of the pioneers in the HR one three tough you'll championships. I mean she could hold her own, so she's going to be at as grand marshal. Every ticket is a pit pass. You watch the action on the track. And then you watch these world class crew chiefs mechanic, breakdown, the engine and rebuild them because the duress is such they need to rebuild it for the next qualifying pass after each time, they run, they rebuild the to rebuild it every piston every rod kept, because they have to start from scratch, and think about on championship Sunday on June second, you're on the clock live television. You have to make your pass winning advance losing go home. Then you have to forty five minutes to break down that engine rebuild from scratch, and get to the starting line for the next pass. Talk about pressure at big time pressure, who's the most popular NASCAR driver on the circuit. Nascar today I would probably say chase Elliott. You know, he comes from one Bill Elliot's pedigree. He's won a couple of races. They. Think he's the future of the Tiger Woods yet, when he started. He's just gotta he's gotta keep that winning mode, going here and some more racist had a big one a couple of weeks ago in Talladega. But I think, and that's what got me excited. There's so many young drivers Bubba Wallace. Ryan Blaney chase Elliott. William Byron best talented group of young drivers ever, because there's a passing of the torch going on right now in the sport with names, like Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt, jR retiring, and so this next crop, it's the it's their time now who's your favorite driver, my favorite driver. I really like I really like a guy name Ryan Blaney because he will sign every autograph in that line. He gets into all the NASCAR drivers get it as do the HR driver. Ryan Blaney is this young kid is dead. Dave race for many years fund Levin. Kid just gets it. And he's all about the fan. So I, I wanna see him successful in the years ahead. All. So Chicagoland speedway dot com or route sixty. Raceway dot com. If you're a straight line fan with the NHRA, they can get tickets for everything and great music, and have a lot of fun. Absolutely. Thanks, man. Rates to see a cat and you to you. It's my guy Scott paddock, president Chicago land speedway. Brian Windhorst talks NBA playoffs with us next his court vision was unmatched. "On KNB are six eight sports leader, Dave how about this? We were just talking Frank Robinson. And we were Dave came up with the great note that he's the besides Nolan Ryan the only player in baseball. History at this point at least to have his number retired in three different cities. The Indians the Orioles and the reds. I was scrolling through his his Wikipedia page during the break there. Dave how about this? I don't has this for sure. In two thousand and three. Frank robinson. Got a statue. Dedicated to immigrate American ballpark in two thousand twelve he got a statue dedicated to him at Camden, Yards Oriole park is part of their their Orioles legend series and then in two thousand seventeen he got a statue at progressive field in in Cleveland. So not only does he have his number retired and three places dude has a Brown statue in three different major league cities. Unbelievable. Why also we obviously know Jackie Robinson has been retired in every state. Yeah. But he's played for these organizations and been part of them, and he gets retired and everyone that doesn't happen. A lot an odd not odd. But the the parody almost with the city of Cincinnati, which for you know, for Marge Schott forever. All those all those racists years. But then in three they become the the first the first team to get to get Frank Robinson a statue. So good stuff there. I we're going to get back into some of this this warrior staff as I promised we've got a lot of great sound from yesterday. But also wanna make no colour headed down to Pomona to shop me attached headed down to Pomona. Dave he's going to some Dave give us a little race hit for the winner Pomona series or wherever Mike's going. Give them a little a Greece's tracks a little on his way down I five. Hey, Mike drag racing nitro powered you're gonna love it from the mouth of Dave Jags. All right. So we'll get back into. So how about this Mike while you're on the road whiter? You're cruising through the Altamont pass. How about this sharks? Five to win last night, a vendor king, no joke. Dave my caller had the best the best analysis ever yesterday of going to the dubs game. The other night he gets out to the dubs game. They want the Spurs by like forty points and then hold it comes in yesterday. And he goes, yeah. It was fun. But it wasn't hockey man was hockey. It was the warriors doing for three straight world championships. They should be playing for a Larry O'Brien trophy. Come this summer. So good stuff. Mike have a great trip down there. And and enjoy the races back to the Golden State Warriors who will be back in action tonight actually on the road before the come back for the for the Miami Heat on Sunday here at oracle one. Little stop off in Phoenix though. Trying to get the job done before they clean things up with another home stand. The sound no from yesterday everybody. Of course, all over the Kevin Durant giving their opinions. I gotta tell you. I was a little surprised with the amount of push back against the media. I think maybe I underestimated how much people were on the side of Kevin Durant and saying, hey, this guy just gets constantly needled. This guy is is with the questions about about free agency. I think that we have so many outlets that we get inundated so much with the same type of of story lines with the same brash personalities with the same talking heads that that like myself included, we just get exhausted with the Catholic fatigue thing, the Katie Draymond fatigue thing. I think already people are getting tired of hearing about this. Kevin Durant story, which is why lucky for him. NBA trade deadline day was yesterday. But yesterday everybody felt like they had they had to check it on this. And rightly so I think it's it's a it was a good indication of where we are between the relationship of the media and the relationship of athletes in professional sports today the responsibilities of them. What are they required to to give? Us when we know that they don't like us, or we know that they don't want to have to answer the same questions, and that we know that everybody's just trying to get a story out of something at what are the moral responsibilities of both the athlete and the and the media personality who's asking them these questions. I think that it's all valid questions to ask I think it's a debate. That's going to continue to be had. But as of right now these responsibilities. Kevin Durant has to answer questions to meet with the media. So yesterday Steve Kerr, I mean, one of the best shows you can find maybe the best show you can find here on Camby. Are there? Steve Kerr interview with with Tom Tolbert you always get good stuff out of it. I'd say that or maybe the Steve Young interview with Tolbert also a great one, but Steve Kerr yesterday with Tom Tolbert and Tolbert's have these experiences to your where he, you know, maybe some days didn't wanna talk to the media. And now he is a member of the media, but Steve Kerr who used to be a member of the media himself yesterday. Have this statement that everyone is responsible for for having to speak to the public? Everybody's required by. NBA rule to speak with the media. I don't know how often so I think they guys. Oh, the fans. An occasional session at least, you know, just to hear what's going on. But how often, you know? I I don't know what the right answer. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly what the number is. I'm not sure. Because if they don't come to you, then you know, how often are we hearing from kevon looney. A lot of time. He's not required to until he's required to write until you're a story. Nobody necessarily wants to talk to you. So Steve Kerr acknowledging. Yes, everybody does have to speak to the media at some point. It's part of his contractual obligation now Steve Kerr, then goes on to try to give an explanation as to. Why maybe Kevin Durant was more upset over these last couple of weeks, then then he has been in the past. And I think he gives a pretty valid argument here that it's not the Kevin Durant. Only cares about playing basketball. It's not that. He he has not thought it all necessarily about where he's going to go this next offseason. But I do believe that his number one focus, it's why he came to the warriors is to win championships. So when he comes here and everybody wants to talk to him. And while it's been a point of conversation over the last three years since he came to Golden State. I think it's I think it's safe to say his number one goal urine you're out which is I mean, this is a guy who's one two final. MVP's right. He cares about winning titles. This is important to him. But the fact that he has not stated I plan to be here beyond this year has created more ripples in more storylines and don't forget this goes all the way back to the Draymond green arguments. The blow up down at Staples Center against the clippers when frame on said all of this season has become about Kevin Durant, and where Kevin Durant go to go. And he could stop all of that. With one statement about I will be here beyond this year. Is it his responsibility to do that if he's not planning on being here? No. But then if the media wants to ask you questions about her, it's your responsibility. So Steve Kerr saying, look, maybe K D is just not happy with the amount of attention. That's being show to him individually, maybe in line with what Draymond green was saying. Because the team right now is probably playing better than it has in any of the last three seasons. I think that's what Kevin was referring to yesterday. You know, after the game was the fact that, you know, people are talking more about where he's going to go next year more than you know, are the warriors gonna win a third straight title, and our quest and all that. But you're right. That is part of it. And it's part of the revenue stream that feeds the salary cap, and and that pays our salaries too. So there does need to be an an awareness and understanding of that it doesn't mean it's easy. But it's all part of it sounds to me like Steve Kerr today's point. I'm not. Sure, he's on the side of the media here. Right. I don't think he's siding with the media. But it does sound like he's chiding. Kevin durant? Just a little bit saying, hey, it's your job. This is something you have to do. It's not easy. It is annoying. We all agree. And everybody says, well, why should he have to keep his cool? Why is not allowed to be annoyed? There's no he's not allowed to be annoyed. I was not how I said this yesterday. I was not happy not happy at all. When my alarm went off this morning at two thirty do you know, how pissed I was Dave do you have any idea? How mad I was what I opened my eyes and I felt that burning sensation dude. And then think about how cold it is out side. I gotta swing my legs outside of this warm bed. Put them on the ground and then touch that cold tile on my bathroom floor, not the business. Dave. But if I don't wanna be on the air at five AM, then I don't have to get up at two thirty eight. That's the way it goes if Kevin Durant wants to make thirty million dollars. He's got to answer questions after doing it. You can be annoyed, but you still gotta get up and handle business. Right. People are checking in on the text line nine one six says cope, we are in a soft market. Of course, the local tease, of course, the local base was on. Kevin Durant side in New York. It would be a different story. It's what I'm saying. We love our superstars here we really do. And I don't have a problem personally with Kevin Durant. But this is an all encompassing thing just happened two nights ago. Right. This is all this has to do with him getting into it with a fifteen year old on Instagram. This has to do with the burner accounts. This has to do with him reacting to a fan in the stands the other night Arab earlier this season, it has to do with the blow up, and then the refusal to speak to the media after the Draymond green incident when people were calling Katie soft, and I have sensitive. He's appeared when not wanting to answer questions about Russell Westbrook. Look, this is a this is not one incident. This isn't just like. Wow. Kevin Durant lost his cool one time. This is something that has happened repeatedly. And he seems a little catty about it. It seems a little soft. So when people get upset, you know, there's no questioning whether or not this guy is is the superstar athlete is a an all time. Great one of the maybe the greatest score we've ever seen..
