"Get their children into elite colleges were found guilty on all charges in the first trial stem from the national college admissions scandal that ensnared dozens of families Former win resorts executive gman Abdul Aziz and private equity investor John B Wilson were convicted Friday by a Boston jury Join me as Bloomberg legal reporter Patricia hurtado So pat how long was the jury out Well the jury deliberated just a little over ten hours over two days And it was a categorical win for the government They convicted both of these two dads who were accused of paying bribes to get their kids to facilitate their kids entrance into elite schools a convicted of every single count And it was there was one question from the jury Earlier on Friday morning and it was a complicated charge It was called mail fraud wire fraud conspiracy to commit mail fraud wire fraud best of honest services mail fraud and wire fraud And it was a complicated theory but the government's charge it was like this huge umbrella account that was basically encompassing the concept of the parents paid bribes to corrupt people and by doing this bribing they robbed the colleges of the honest services of their employees to do the right thing and do their job properly and not give swaths to kids whose parents paid bribes So the jury asked about this And the judge basically gave the jury on a smorgasbord of opportunities to convict them just on that one count alone So there were like substances accounts that the jury found guilty on every single count It was quite stunning The defense had argued vociferously that they had not paid brides And if they had paid money they understood them to be quote unquote donations to the schools So that the money they gave to this mastermind this call is corrupt college counselor named William Rick singer who had played guilty and agreed to cooperate against them They said he was the con man who had lied to them and misled them about what the true function of the money was going to be That it was legitimate development The prosecutors managed to get this verdict even without the testimony of the mastermind Rick singer How did that go Well what they did is they did play the wiretaps of these men discussing these parents discussing with singer their plan And there was a dad from Massachusetts from the cape area John Wilson is private equity executive and he was on talking to singer about possibly arranging to pay $500,000 for each of his two daughters So a $1 million to facilitate his daughter's interest into Stanford and Harvard And then he asked if he could get a two for one deal So he was haggling for a discount So he didn't want to pay more than a million And the government said that he that was showing his willingness to engage in a dirty deal And the other dad gamal Abdelaziz and he's the former wind resorts executive He was on tape talking to singer Singer actually was bragging to him that he wanted to use this fake profile that they used to get his daughter into USC as they purported basketball star that he wanted to use it for other fake athletes And Abdullah's chuckles and says I love it So the government said this is the true nature and the true understanding these two parents had that they knowingly understood that singer was corrupting the process And so it's because singer wasn't on the stand The parents didn't have an opportunity to try to make a case that he was the mastermind and he was pulling the strings Right and they were they were hoping to get him on the stand because there's plenty of occasions singer had these no teat written to install that said the government agents want me to quote unquote then the truth for example And the parents really wanted to go after singer his machinations He did apparently tell them at certain periods of time sometimes you stay with quote unquote donation wink wink or sometimes to set then when he was cooperating he changed the story and suddenly the script was it was a bribe and that their parents insisted that they had never known it was a pure bribe What the government did in this case and the judge allowed it as he allowed the government the prosecutors to put in evidence from other parents including emails their machinations and then they called one of these dads who played guilty His name was Bruce isaacson He's a Northern California businessman He and his wife played guilty to getting pain bribes to singer to get their kids into college So this dad testified about his mindset So the government said you can infer from the testimony of this other dad what these two gaps were thinking The defense vociferously argued against this they said it's unfair unfair evidence included other crimes being done that these parents didn't have anything to do with And the defense has argued they have a lot of appeals issues when they challenge it at the first circuit Coming up next what might the sentences.

"Welcome to September 3rd, 2021 on the national day calendar. Today we celebrate poor man's rabbit. And team spirit. When was the last time you fell in love with coffee? Is your morning routine just a little too routine? At David's roasting their fanatical about the beans because no matter how you brew it, coffee won't rock your world if it's not freshly roasted. Visit David's roasting dot com to try their award winning blends. Roasted to order and shipped to your door because everyone deserves to fall in love with coffee this fresh. David's roasting dot com. Boutique coffee without all the hype. We all know that nicknames have a way of sticking with us. Take the name Welsh rarebit, for example. This basic dish of toasted bread with cheese sauce contains no actual rabbit and was originally called cow's pop in 16th century whales. The countryman loved it so much that a joke sprang up at the time. It was said that God asked Saint Peter to get rid of the Welsh from heaven as they were causing too much trouble. Saint Peter stepped outside and yelled, cows, poppy, and the Welshman all came out at once. The English dubbed this dish Welsh rarebit towards the end of the 18th century as a nod to poor man's rabbit. On national Welsh rarebit day try a bite of something classically delicious and raise a pint to the Welsh who don't mind a bit of ribbing. Follows back and with it comes college football. The season can lead to heated arguments as friends and family cheer on their favorite teams. This fierce team loyalty even extends to the U.S. armed forces. Army and navy are usually on the same side except for once a year when the army navy matchup takes place, possibly the fiercest rivalry in college sports. These teams have gone head to head 121 times with the navy winning 61 of them, even sitting presidents have attended the games between the army black knights and the navy midshipmen and the stands are usually full of either black, gold and gray or navy blue and gold. On national college colors day, celebrate your team spirit with the colors of your choice. Go navy beat army. Well, guess we know where that loyalty looks. Hey, tomorrow it's national macadamia nut day. Macadamia nuts on Welsh rarebit. Oh, yeah, that's one for the books. I managed to fear. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we celebrate every day. See you tomorrow?

"I hung in there for a pretty long time. Because i was really brainwashed by people around me that like having a job at the university was the greatest thing in the world and it took me a good five five and a half probably close to six years before. I just said i can't do this anymore. This is hands down the largest academic fraud scandal in the history of college sports. The level of academic fraud is nothing. Short of stunning. Three thousand students. Many of them big time college athletes over the course of almost twenty years getting good grades and classes didn't exist doric moment for north carolina. I think for college sports and obviously for the ncaa if they don't come down hard twenty ten. Mary got in touch with an investigative reporter who help reveal the story of a massive scandal. A cover up by the university that made national news. I just saw them lying. And i thought well this is a great opportunity to say the truth. Be honest and then fix what's broken week. Unc has insisted that it does not believe this whistleblower. Mary university demoted her. She filed a lawsuit on monday saying. Unc attacked her character and retaliated against her for blowing. The whistle to ham also received death threats. And so it's not surprising that some of the people that we've talked to in the last few days haven't wanted cnn to use their names. I had death threats and hate mail and and it was very uncomfortable to be on campus by stuck around till two thousand fourteen. I stuck around for a couple years after all of this and i was very disliked after mary's boko paper classes went away and unc faced heavy criticism but after investigations legal battles. The university didn't face any punishment from the ncwa. But i do think that the conversation about college sport has shifted and. I hope that i have had a hand in that at least a little bit. I don't know for fans around the country. When news of the scandal came out it changed how people saw college boards twenty years ago. There was no sympathy from fans on these issues but a lot of things happen over the course that time. This is remote hume again. His small student group at ucla wasn't able to change things for his fellow football players back in the nineties but over time that grew into the national college players association and his public opinion changed. He launched a series of legal challenges to the nc double as rules on amateurism. The strategy has been to argue that the ncwa rules are actually illegal. Price-fixing since nineteen eighty-four ncaa's claim to be exempt from antitrust law. Meaning the ncaa. Unlike other entities in america believes it can price fix anything going to call jaffe in two thousand fourteen. His organization argued in a case that the ncwa was acting illegally when it restrict players from getting paid for their name image and likeness and they want a federal courts at the ncwa was acting like a cartel. While that was going on taylor branch civil rights historian wrote an article called the shame of cost bush the atlantic and there was an immediate shift in the media then he helped an effort to formally unionize players for the first time. We got a ruling in favour at college out. These are employees and it shook up the notion of amateurism and the legal standing of with the ncaa's been claiming athletes are in college. I can't tell you how many people say that you know. That was the first time they thought about the issue. So we right now. This i actually have to go. This is my tim. Forty five right now. Ramon as a busy man. Let me when we spoke with him. The changes he chased for two decades. We're finally becoming a reality this spring. He helped us student. Sue the aa and that case was merged into one that made it all the way to the supreme court. The suit was basically about laptops but really it was about challenging this whole idea of amateurism. The idea that colleges don't need to or can't pay players that the anti trust laws should not be a cover for exploitation of the student athletes. There was a nine decision and justice. Brett cavanaugh said nowhere else. In america can businesses get away with agreeing not to pay their workers. A fair market rate on the theory that their product is defined by not paying their workers a fair market rate. This was a major victory. The supreme court in america were based in a free market economic system. Where competitors aren't allowed to get together and make agreements in collude. Nancy a has a national price fixed in place agreed to buy all the schools to say. Hey we're not gonna pay these players anything above a scholarship. That's illegal and the supreme court made that very clear with the nine zero ruling in our favor saying yes that's illegal. Dan's is not special. Amateurism is hypocritical. And you need to figure out on mouse days. After the decision came down the nc double a pastoral they're going to suspend amateurism when it comes to the name image and likeness of players. Many athletes will be able to make money off of their own names like selling their autographs. Or jerseys which is a nice ring to it found adjusted suspending amateurism and comes to naming major lightness and basically walking away from his restrictions and late in the schools. Decide how they wanna deal with naming aliveness. Now that is america school exciting on their competitors. Not colluding in harming other people in the process. Thomasson settling in some ways. We're crossing a threshold right. Now that i know are pretty much. Irreversible may template the to back in the to which the good thing to prison for kadhafi's economically and otherwise. But my god is not down at all to me. It feels like maybe the.

"Oh, National College football Rider all around. Good guy. Orlando Sentinel. One of the best you're gonna find. I got a I got a weird question to start off with Matt. Matt. We got you there. Yeah, yeah, sure. What's going on? It's wonderful to talk to you, buddy. Again. National College football writer Orlando Sentinel and Tribune. Follow him on Twitter at OS Matt Maher show with one l at the end. Is this what we saw at the College World Series with North Carolina State? They're basically like season done. Goodbye. Get out of here. Where they they? They have their protocols and people say, Well, they have their protocols. They have the protocols, and that's the way it goes. We're seeing this story pop up now. I don't know how I don't know the truth to it all together. We're seeing this. This story pop up where They were testing the non vaccinated players. Then all of a sudden, they decided to text the fully vaccinated players. The fully vaccinated players came back with four positive test boom season over it seems to be weird. Is this going to Is this something that we're going to see during the fall in football season where there's going to be a couple of moments where we're going? What the hell is going on here with the N C. Double A. I thought we had this thing all straightened out. Yeah, I think you could see this very much happened in the fall. I mean, I mean, listen, it's you know, it's I've spoken a couple athletic directors conference commissioners of the last couple months and I asked about acquiring They're athletes of their programs to be vaccinated, You know, But you know, there are some schools across the country that just to get on campus as regular students, you know that they're requiring their students their students to be vaccinated, so Most of them know that you really can't force the issue. You can't force something vaccinated. So those who aren't vaccinated are more likely going to have to go through the covid protocols, much like they did last season. You know where they're going to have to be tested at least 2 to 3 times. They're going to have to deal with what happens if they test positive contract tracing wearing maths when they're in facilities, things like that. And you know it's something more like this to happen again. And where you have a couple athletes test positive for something. Um, then it puts them in a protocol and most cases it could be. You know, six days, it could be a week they can miss a game or two, depending on what happens so Um it's going to be a challenge, and I think that's why you're seeing schools in some cases trying to Will nudge their athletes maybe to do this, but again, much like society and, you know you can't force people to do what they don't want to do. And so there's some athletes who are like I'm embracing that I'm going to get back there and be ready to go. And there's some who, like, Listen, I'm not comfortable with this, and I'm not going to do it so Going to be a challenge, and I think not just the athletes. They got coaching staff. There are some coaches I know who aren't going to get vaccinated, so they're going to have to go to the same sort of issues much like everyone else. So This is the child. She's gonna be a challenge in the fall for football, basketball, all the sports, and it's gonna be interesting to see at some point much like we saw here with the College World Series. You're going to see maybe a star player or player. Maybe that's a big, important piece of someone football team may be missed some time because of I think it puts a different, weird set of pressure because you know there's there's the stuff that we see online. There's the public image and influence and things like that. You know when we really break it down to the sports here, Matt, I think you know where I'm going on this because I said it last week after the NFL came out with their Basically your last warning over this last month before training camp starts up like, hey, things going to be very difficult for you to conduct yourself in this business. If you don't do. This is what they're saying in college football. Can't help. But think like there's going to be some teams that are expected to do well. They might start off slow out of the gates. All of a sudden, a team that was expected to compete in the A. C C is is three and three. We're putting the coaches feed on the fire and all of a sudden fingers start pointing going. You know you didn't do this. It's harder to meet up. It's harder to to conduct our business here together. You won't do what's necessary to win, which is a dangerous sentenced to say, but you know it's going to be said in some of these facilities. Yeah, very much So, And I think there'll be some fans. You know, we know. Although this fans will question why doesn't the coach you know, do more. Why? Why can't they force their players to get vaccinated? Why can't they forced the issue? Why can't they try to find a way to To avoid having this happen, and it's going to be a It's going to be a struggle, and I think you know it's a dangerous precedent. It's a dangerous allied to walk moving forward into the fall because I think you know again. You know, it's it's hard to force people to do something that they don't want to do. And in some cases, even if you stay to them, the benefit is you don't have to go through these protocols. You don't have to be tested. You don't have to go through all this. Um and and we can move forward with. Some semblance of safety. But you know, I I know the players on on lots of teams that have when we asked them, you know. Are you going to be vaccinated? They hem and haw about it much like the NFL players, and they say, I'm not really sure so. I think it's very reflective of what's going to happen in college football. I think our college basketball as well, So I think it's going to be a challenge. And I think the teams are able to maybe kind of make their players maybe understand what the benefits are. That kind of outweigh some of the challenges. I think we'll have some success. But I do believe at some point we're going to have some teams to have. It may not be Critical mass where you have like a star quarterback being gone, But you may lose an offensive lineman or a defensive lineman or someone like that and have a couple players out because of Matt Michelle. Joining us here on the show. Find him on Twitter at OS. Matt. Michelle. Okay, I know we've been talking about it all week, but it's Saturday. I got to get into it myself, because obviously I have takes that I've got to get off my chest just to make me feel better about it. The N C double a the N I l the ruling that happened. I mean, Brett Kavanaugh was scathing in his in his findings about when they voted unanimously. Nine. Nothing to uphold things. What is the future of the N C double A. Before I get into college football. What is the future of of that? Board and that entity altogether. Well, you know, I think the there and see it has gone through this. It's going to be forced to change. I mean, this is something that's kind of come from all this has been going on for a couple of years. Now it's not something that's just just because of this week and what happened with the Supreme Court. The initiated being forced to change. I mean, they're trying to catch up with the Times and the NBA. Moves at a glacial pace. You know, it never does things quickly. So they've been trying to catch up and try to find a way to get to get involved and find a way to kind of become a more modern organization..

I think it's the same thing is I think it's turned into practice. I think it's turned into playoffs. That whole thing. It's a small mountain. It's called butternut it Zachary Small Mountains in the town of Great Barrington. But it's a nice town. We've been there. We like it. And it's fun to kind of go hang out in for the night or two nights and go skiing a little bit. I mean, we're not there before. Yeah, we went there last year. I believe when we loved it. "Quarterback last night, who last season through for 535 yards against him last night. He didn't crack 100 the way this defense plays. They're really, really good, really, really good and We haven't seen a group of five schoolmate to college football playoff yet I'm still skeptical that it's gonna happen. But if it does it did you see their defense? I'm telling you is going to give him a chance against anybody. But my God, the offense just ran all over E c U to which you you did expect her didn't expect that kind of offensive output from Desmond Ritter and the rest of the The offensive bear kids expected it last night. You mentioned Desmond Ritter and you've got to give that kid a lot of credit because about a month ago, one of the more than a month ago. There were a lot of us wondering is the time to pull the plug on Desmond Ritter and give them Brian a chance. You know, he has has has limitations as a thrower, although he certainly has thrown the ball well, the last four games, but he had played party unevenly the first three games and you know there were some legitimate questions. I think my fans and fathers you know the give them Bryant, the backup quarterback, a chance a guy who is regarded as a better thrower, right look, circle has remained steady. Actually loyal toe Desmond Ritter, and it's paid off. He's accounted for 17 touchdowns 17 Cups out of the last four years. So just the scenarios that could land you see in the National College football championship playoff, and you know you're still skeptical. A swell you should. I mean, it's never happened before. Um They run the table. They're impressive in their victories as in last night against TCU. Who has to lose, that's ahead of you see for them, too. To make that leap. Well, primarily what you're rooting for your rooting for Clinton to lose because that would give them two losses. And you're rooting for Florida to lose, and that would give them two losses. And, you know, the second of those two is really plausible. Because right now Florida and Alabama on a collision course for the S E C championship game. Alabama will be favored in that game. That would that would give Florida two losses. I think I think you see is going to have a chance if it comes down to an undefeated bear cat team and a two lost team from up from the Power five school. I think what makes this season so unique, though, is just the inequity and You know how many games each team is playing. So, for instance, Ohio State's not gonna play today? No finish with seven regular season games. They're not gonna make up the game with Maryland either. They're not gonna make up the game with with Maryland and you know, so they would play in the Big 10 Championship game in 2014, the first year of the college football playoff. School from the Big 12 were effectively punished because the winner of that league didn't have a conference championship game. Then they didn't have that data point to give the selection committee. So I wonder how that's gonna play out, maybe less. So for Ohio State, but more for let's say, organ out of the Pac 12. They're only playing a six game season plus the conference championship game, So I think there is where you're going to get into some Some legitimate questions. If you have a Cincinnati team, that's 11 or No. Are you really going to put a team that's on Lee seven. And, Oh, um, in ahead of bear canteen that played More games played many more games I, but but to get back to your original question, you're rooting against Clinton because you want them to have two losses. And you're rooting against Florida because you wanted them to have two losses. And I think maybe to a lesser degree Oklahoma State as well because you want them to have two losses are lot has to happen. But First things first. Cincinnati has to go to UCF next week and play against one of the best offense is in college football. And if they don't take care of business against against UCF, and then you know that this is a moot point. They've sure they still have a lot of work to do on the field. I got you, Uh, just a quick update on the Masters since they got in almost the whole second round since we talked yesterday. Uh, I think there is still some players who are completing their second rounds. Is that correct? Yes. Not everybody got through 36 sold yesterday. All right. So how we looking, though so far in Augusta? Uh, pretty wide open, you know, quite frankly, pretty wide open, and I think they're they're like 44 players tied. Yeah, and I think the scores have been lower than a lot of people expected. So does the next two days should be a lot of fun. Okay. Will you be wrecked, Replicating any masters play today? Yourself, but not today. But Thursday, all right there you go. And what's on the block? Know if anything, interviewed several Bauer yesterday after winning the Science award, Incredible. So good for him good conversation with him, and I wrote about job. Oh gets a chance to play the Steelers for the first time, And this game reminds me of A game on Halloween 2004 involving better office burgers, So I wrote about that. It's on the block, right? Fantastic. No anger is always double duty this week with me and I don't know how you how you held up for that, but God, You're a trooper. Take care. All right. "National college football writer for the Orlando Sentinel in Tribune on Twitter at OS map for Shell on Instagram at OS map. Michelle Matt, I don't have an instagram policy. I feel it gets married Men in trouble Is that true riffles? Well, most of my instagram posts are usually food dog pictures. So with the occasional college football, a press box, So it's it's pretty. It's pretty tame by instagram standards. I've heard about some of those instagram account. You know, your wife walks by at the wrong time. And also, I just don't want to have anything. I have to explain. So Matt Michelle joining us on the show right now on the hotline. So I've spent the 1st 20 minutes of the show Talking about Clemson, Notre Dame. I really think Notre Dame Let me throw this. Buy it now. I really don't want you to just set fire to my whole first half hour here. I really think Notre Dame has to win tonight. And if they win tonight, I almost I think I could put him in pen for the college football playoffs. If they lose tonight, I imagine the lose by 17 or 20. And even if they win the A C C championship game. I think they might be buried enough in the standings or I don't know if they could overcome maybe one of the other SEC teams or maybe a Pac 12 team. Yeah, I think that's a good outlook to travel. When you look at this situation. I mean, this game means a lot more obviously Notre Dame and a lot of ways because Clinton could lose a close game. The Notre Dame tonight like you said, Go on, and maybe When they see championship and still find its way into the playoffs and possibly into a national championship game for Notre Dame game tonight to clubs and they're gonna have a lot more work ahead of them. We're gonna have to find a way. Be able to qualify for the championship the beef, maybe Clinton again of the company and then turn around and hope that maybe SEC team or Big 10 team or someone else doesn't jump ahead of them. With that one law, So it's more important a lot of wise but Notre Dame to get this win and again to be on the national stage to play the number one team in the country from Brian Kelly and at Notre Dame. It was a kind of game. Where could really make a big statement for him or what he's been able to do with that program? I've taken a bunch of swings. How do I say D j used last name? How do I do it? D J. Okay, get d J. Vu Gollum is is the way you pronounce. The way I love that. Okay, Well, I don't want to be like tongue of my low where we had, like one pronunciation that we had another pronunciation. And all we have is like NFL pronunciation on how to say his last name. Go away. Oh, the none of this makes sense over here, So I just want to make sure we find one way to say it, And then we move on. Does Notre Dame don't do They have a chance tonight, In your estimation, And if they do, Ah, how do they do it? How did they beat Clemson this evening? Well, it's gonna have to be on two folds. When one is going to be out offensively, they're gonna have to take advantage of some of those weaknesses that clump showcase last week against Boston College. It's not like this. The most stout defense that company's ever had. So you know, didn't have opportunities. They're gonna have to take advantage of, and books gonna have to be able to avoid any sort of rush and get out the pocket and find open receivers and they're just gonna have to run the football like they've done so far this season, Notre Dame's got a really good job. Of running the ball and they've done it big Chuck, the chuck plays on me. That's when Dorian's gonna happen. They'll take it, Daniel the offense. I think defensively, they're gonna have to just put pressure on De Diego Ballet, and they have to make sure that the You know, he's a freshman, so they're going to be growing pains here and there, so they've got to making have some of them. They've got to making slow ball here, there that maybe he didn't want to throw. They've got to make sure they can come from how contained Travis again and make sure he doesn't become the X factor if they could do those things. There's an opportunity for Notre Dame will win this game and I gotta keep this game close. They've got to make sure they don't fall behind early. They've got to make sure that they can Be right there. Toto shot the shot or up. They're not gonna have a chance in this game. Matt Murschel. Joining us on the show is Tommy Reese, Maybe a coach in waiting at a place like Notre Dame. Or is he maybe, just like, kind of a lifer like Jim Leonard may very well be up at Wisconsin. What? What category? Do I put this man in? Well, I think writing mama comedies right now. I think he's He's definitely trying to learn they would take the next step. You know, the coach obviously coming in and running the offense. It's a big step for him, but he's gonna have to be able to kind of eventually expand that it is this offense continue to grow and be dominant, You know, then maybe you could turn around and say, Okay, Yeah, You got an opportunity, maybe to be to be a head coach, You know, I mean, guys who have former quarterback and going on to be head coach of the done pretty well, but I think it's going to take sometime. I mean again. Notre Dame offense particularly has been kind of up and down. You know, they've been kind of they didn't look good throwing the ball really on now. They've had a couple good games. They need consistency, even develop some consistency as an offense over the next couple of years, then I think there's a lot of doors for him to become what you said head coach in waiting that he stepped on. It takes the combined Kelly's from point or whether there's gonna be other opportunities, maybe down the road. Cause he's such a pup. I mean, was he 27 28 years old. He's still very, very young, but I always I always kind of put that with..

"Oncology cancer patients general medicine. I watched a lot of people died off I and I started asking questions. Why can't we give these people who are biochemically breaking down nutrients IV vitamin C IV B vitamins and stuff that I knew that was available from a pharmacy prestige. The why is it not used clinically and and and it was just they gave me a run around it like well, there's really no research and that was before I had my five kids and I went to pull research to say look here's studied showing that these vitamins are beneficial in cancer States here studies showing vitamin C beneficial and they're like, well that's been refuted never saw anything refuting true research and and it just led me down this aspect of understanding how things work that I turned around and went to naturopathic school for four years became a naturopathic doctor at it what used to be called natural National College of naturopathic medicine now called National University of natural medicine out in Portland, Oregon and then I practiced compounding pharmacy while I was there to help me put myself through school. So I'm out. So I get a make, you know learning how to make all those natural hormones and how to combine The Best of Both Worlds and and then ended up back in Pittsburgh my wife grew age. But just over an hour away from here and so we raised our family here and I've always been one of these people of how the things work the more that I drove down. It just took led me down this Rabbit Hole, you know down to even the you know, the the thinking about Tesla and Einstein and and you know energy perspective of quantum I learned about dr. Kerry Packer games and the aspects of a an energy perspective of how to understand the human body. So I've written articles in naturopathic doctor News & Review and just trying to teach this aspect of understand how you can test and analyze somebody to know what do they need from a basic mineral basic vitamin standpoint? And then naturopathic Lee learning how to test people, you know food chemical sensitivities looking at people's blood and looking at the help of the blood understand whether they're carrying oxygen or showing signs of deficiencies. So I've done this real analogue Or perspective that helps break things down to what people need and then and what they don't or what they need to get away from showing them a diet basic mineral approach and just watching miracles happen in reality is what I've learned in the process. Are you able to you take real blood? He's like real blood test that other that other doctors could order perhaps and then you're able to interpret them or or send off to a lab and like you.

Coronavirus fears shadow this year's March Madness

"Twitter should the NC double a tournament games known as March madness be played in front of zero fans only in front of television cameras because of concerns over the corona virus the national college Players Association has asked the National Collegiate Athletic Association the NC double a to consider holding March madness without an audience present due to the emerging corona virus threat is that of going overboard I don't think so in fact I think it's a bigger concern for the fans but it is for the players and for the rest of us if you understand that this disease is as we heard last night from doctors it sends people to the hospital substantially more often than the seasonal flu it also has a mortality rate that is substantially higher than the seasonal flu for anybody who tells me one more time this is just the like the seasonal flu yes it's just like the seasonal flu accepted send Jew to the hospital a lot more frequently than the seasonal flu and it kills people a lot more frequently than the seasonal flu other than that yeah there are somewhat similar and one of the little tidbits that I got out of last night's interview with a medical expert from what World Health Organization who is a doctor himself is that covert nineteen which is one of the corona viruses corona and for people to say well isn't sars the corona virus corona virus is a type of virus yes sars is in the corona virus family so is coded nineteen but one of the details he said that I had not seen in any of the other reporting I believe me I've read a truckload of the other reporting on this subject in the last two months now since this first emerged in early January is that in simple terms laid terms the seasonal flu likes your nose your throat your mouth and your guts that's where it likes to live coronavirus or cobit nineteen likes your lungs I mean different kinds of bacteria different kinds of viruses in this case like to live in different places where we're all familiar with the idea that there are certain kinds of bacteria and certain kinds of viruses it like different parts of your body to live in they like the environment the regular seasonal flu your nose your throat your mouth and your god covert nineteen likes your lungs and why is that important well because one of the side effects and we saw the very first man who came back from China we didn't know about covert nineteen dad the Chinese barely knew about it they only reported on the first of January but he came back to a place called Bellingham Washington and he had a dry cough for four days that's one of the harbingers of code nineteen is that dry coffee added for four days he finally went in for some medical care they said we're going to isolate you that guy went down hill for the better part of a week and he was already under medical care he ended up with pneumonia in both of his lungs and if you don't believe me I'm drawing that from the New England journal of medicine and a technical medical report on what happened in this guy's case so he goes to the hospital he finally gets out fourteen days later and he's recovered now why is that a concern when he entered the hospital they give a chest X. ray no no manana a few days later lower long pneumonia a few days after that both lungs pneumonia now that sounds like a fairly aggressive disease and the tidbit from the medical expert last night on this program saying covert nineteen likes to live in your lungs why is that important because it can turn into pneumonia and pneumonia can kill you and yes it's mostly attacking older people people above the age of seventy people with underlying health problems but it also goes after younger people as well as I pointed out the doctor in China I tried to warn the whole world about the problem and the Chinese government shut him down and kept him from speaking it was thirty five years old he got covert nineteen he's dead today his pregnant wife also got covert nineteen I don't know her status status at

S. Supreme Court Bravo for them and why was that not a nine to nothing vote on that critical question let's go to Chris who heard us talking about drones recently and a caller had told me I wasn't aware of it did the FAA has apparently come down with some changes in the way that the drones that average folks by not professional grade drone aircraft but just drones the you buy at the this to a toy store hobby store wherever that those are going to be effectively outlawed limiting you even to you in the way you would use them in your backyard Chris welcome to the program what's on your mind.

"To cover college football national college football writer for the Orlando Sentinel and the tribute but on Twitter at as members shall members show joins on the show Matt are you doing today I'm doing okay can I start off with Mike leach first yeah I think I would ever want to talk about Mike which now why why did you decide Mississippi state over Washington state is it just money tell me it's not just money no I don't think it's just money it was and I I think it is but something's going on the last couple years I think Mike is obviously interested in and get going somewhere and seeing if the system works elsewhere you know nothing to take away from Washington state the fact well but I think when you look at the idea of going to the SEC going to a premier conference well you look at the fact that you know the the SEC has its own you know television that work and and you the challenge of taking a Mississippi state program which is you know not been gal but it's just been kind of kind of average in the coming in there trying to see if you can try to rebuild it I think it's a very appealing options from some Michael each and and I I think you know he's really interested in and getting there and and seeing what he can do that and and already just his presence at the brilliant higher for Mississippi state because think of all the the brand of the buzz of a built over the last couple days you don't need more are you talking about the SEC media days and I just think it's gonna be one of those things that people are just going to really gravitate towards especially among the fan base now you can ask the windy can't just go to shop there and the face value but I think if we can make it exciting I think you got a chance to win there yeah but even on face value I mean how far is that state right now you have him and lane Kiffin right there in in Mississippi very much so making that a bowl game really become one of the top premier loudly I mean we always talk about during that weekend about Alabama and and Auburn imagine now having a ball where you're going to have you know lane Kiffin might lead you can have two programs that basically offense so they're probably going to be a couple type offices are going to be exciting to watch so I just the personality wise and and also the only what they could put on the football field I think it's going to be very entertaining I think it's going to be one of those things that people really don't want to watch a special the next couple years when they get their their their program really up to speed how much better did how much better did the as you get a make Clemson for that is in this national championship game on Monday well I think they they were able to find some maybe some weaknesses in their game I mean I think one of the things that clients sought early on was a house that was temple I think because of that temple they they really struggled we saw how state jump out early in the game to build a little bit of leaks well the cost was able to make some adjustments and really slow down Ohio state's offense is that was big for them because I think that's gonna be the key in this and Monday's game if they're gonna have to find a way to slow down unless you're gonna have to make it was you look normal and almost human sort of speaks at the do that they could they could have to slow them down and I think that's what brands edibles you know that the second quarter for classes yeah let's see if we see that it gets Ohio state now they could take advantage of that maybe going to get so she membership joining us on the show national college football right Orlando Sentinel in Tribune a we talk so much about unless you and maybe a lack of defense has that been an over rated is this scenario for a lot of folks out there did a pretty fine job against Oklahoman that football game yeah I think we wanted to get you set struggle I think they're missing some some key components and I think that kind of change I think the point that where they kind of flipped the script on that narrative was when you look at the number of the selection committee saying you know to you know basically a house that was a much more complete seen that a house they play better defense and Alex you you saw them get I think unless you get a little bit fired up on those comments and they went out the next weekend and they did a great job of shutting down Texas and out we saw that it gets Georgia and I think you saw that it gets Oklahoma so the defense right now that you know it's just as good as the office but the office is getting all the headlines I get all the headlines so they want to prove their there they're just as good in order to get a challenge this early on Monday I guess the club that has different multiple ways to kind of score points against you natural trouble once will transit yeah you know you look at their dynamics are you to play makers at receiver they're all going to be healthy so it's gonna be a challenge for the cells you do that well I I think Travis Etienne's maybe the most it I I don't need to keep using the term underrated but we just don't talk about him as much as we should from last year to this year consistency setting that offense up at the beginning of the season as well whichever Lawrence wasn't that great now I know that over the last seven games he's been phenomenal eight games he's been phenomenal but I just don't think we make a big enough deal about their offense of line how they're able to run the football as well Travis Edea yeah I could see it's gonna be it's your money as well it's getting traffic jam going at it when he wasn't able to get going to get solid state we saw how the clubs often spotted a little bit especially early on then they had to change things up a little bit they may travel once won the football more I think he uses legs a lot more than we're used to seeing it's one thing to get HIM going early on against LSU and if you grind up clock and they can really kind of take it as a client outside Boston I think that's the key for that I think you can celebrate a job I think you mentioned the office of wind they've done a great job of protecting trap travellers are several once they're gonna have to do the same sort of thing again on Monday they can't they can't let him have too much pressure he's got to go out there and make plays I can get it gets Ohio state how close in the middle of last year or even going in the last year what is that drawn to getting fired how many people really wanted dead or drowned fired well I I think you know there was there was a concern that you know maybe he wasn't the guy that was gonna get them all that up but I've always felt like I look at last year's I thought like is that the one on they got stronger and stronger and so when they were at the festival nobleness yesterday why stop it's one of those you can get it this year that this had it's hard to do good things I mean they had to keep the elements to do that but I don't think anyone would have thought they were going to kind of sports do they have this year ready come that is our passing game coordinator and all of a sudden we see kind of the sauce that is more precious something else to see Joe Berle become much more of a lead quarterback we see that the keep the calls around of the receivers everything's really kind of a place this kind of operatic system and the name is taken off from there so I've always felt like yours on there so much pressure been put on him there so much idea that you've got the right set I think he's the perfect fit be honest with you I think now he's been able to make some adjustments I think this is a team right now that it's going to go on not just this year I think they got a good foundation for next year special feel great what your story writer I mean you're a guy who tells tales here what's this if they win this national championship what's this mean dead drawn throughout his career through the time the U. S. see through the tiny mineral miss why just because it's it's almost like a gratification tax story you know I mean like you you listen he's he's had his ups and downs that we don't I mean he's been at places where he was always kind of the price they never the bride you know because of the fact that there was always some other bigger name always someone that was going to come after him and and and do a better job that's why he's going to be on the hot seat if you were the national championship on Monday I mean look at that that's really kind of so that's the fact that he's a really good coach and and and someone that definitely will there was a good decision to hire the put in that spot and I I think what coach does motivate players it's not just you know going out of the greeting I think what a good coach doesn't make their work to make adjustments and I think that's something that in Oregon is always done in his career I think it's you know the last couple years ago it's you thanks a lot there's somebody around the house working around to make this kind of moves in the in the sense that it's going to help and I think he's never been afraid to do that I think that's why I went on on what it would really be something that would kind of cement his status as a good coach it and maybe tell us what some of those ideas that you know he's always going to be on a high after hearing your members of joining us and national college football writer Orlando Sentinel and Tribune at as members on Twitter what about double sweetie say he wins this I want to put him right up there with Nick save and I mean with Nick save and I think it's harder than ever to repeat as a champion I think it's becoming harder and harder and harder and he's doing it with the transfer portal now you would have Nick save it is done that already easy as repeated once but dabbles able to do it now I could make an argument maybe dabbles better are you gonna tell me I'm stupid tell me I'm dumb come on now I don't think you're dumb listen I I just think right now.

"In a study was the kids city chiefs came up with the win they needed twenty four seventeen doing it in a different way with the running game and defense although I guess we should not have been surprised that the chiefs would find a way to win with their secondary or their defense against Philip rivers because this was the third time in the last three seasons of the chiefs about a three plus pick interception game against Philip rivers and the Chargers over that same time frame they have to either of those games so they clearly see something they light up when they go up against Philip rivers yeah good things are we got a we weren't coming up in minutes we were just talking about yes we do right well done we'll get to that she has to come with us to New Orleans for the national college playoff championship that is like an hour coming up in about ten minutes everybody I kind of yeah early this some special that we well which we don't know about now we do not do not know about that your going to find out about ten minutes to make sure your listing give you the winning word your chance to come with us to New Orleans for the national championship game going to be an awesome trip for you and all you have to do is listen for word and text it's all that coming up very shortly now you go ahead and proceed thank you very much so the Chargers gave it up Philip rivers with four interceptions last night against the Jeez he had three the previous week in the Thursday night game against the raiders I'm not good a quick map but that's seven in the last two games his fourteen for the season trail only V. waffle house man himself because he just serving about James Winston who has eighteen on the year so now the question becomes what happens going forward here was Philip rivers after the game it's the only way I know is the fight and then just keep fighting sign up for a mall regardless which record is you've been the spot before you see.

"Mortgage confidently. Doggedness was going to be deeper into drugs and a team gr- tempting grounded out here in the playoff game. We're watching right now on the football league side Cowboys up three nothing in the first ended the first quarter. I play the second quarter. As a matter of fact, Seattle Seahawks three possessions three and out damn. That's some defense that the cowboy defended playing so far we just had a Tabin Austin pint taken back to the house that was called back for a holding penalty which. The ball back at the twenty yard line of the Cowboys. So they now have to go long field. Kobe's Lee went down with an injury. Earlier is back in the game for the Cowboys. Cowboys Abby three nothing lead a minute into a quarter. Number two. Let's put the National Football League aside for men's because we've got a big game on Monday night. These are just wild card games in the NFL. We got a championship game on Monday night here to talk about Clemson. And alabama. The rematch rematch rematch. Rematches is our buddy from Associated Press national college football writer, rob Jerry Mackey. How is your new year? Not bad not bad. It's it's a little better than the weather in northern California right now, actually, this is a weird spot to have this game. It doesn't quite feel like a championship Bill yet. And the weather is not great, and it's an outdoor stadium. So I don't know how that's gonna play on the next couple of days. But the game I think itself should be pretty good. And the two teams are great even though we're in a weird spot in the country to have I'd start with the weather. Celli rainy, what kind of weather. You're looking at today. It's just gross. It's chilly and rainy exactly it it. Just the worst kind of like forty five degrees, fifty degrees and raining all day. And again, we're supposed to have a little rain the next couple of days. I'm not sure exactly what Monday nights forecast is. But it's not gonna be like a brilliant day in the next couple of days. There might be some rain throughout the day, which also bring brings into question what field is going to be like at Levi stadium. You know where the San Francisco forty Niners play. I heard that that field doesn't necessarily hold up. Great. So I think that could possibly be in play here. And again, it's just it's a weird place to have this game. Because it's so far from where the fans are these fans are used to seeing their team in championship games. So for them to travel all this distance has been I think a little taxing. So I think the, you know, the secondary market for tickets. We don't see a ton of Alabama and Clemson fans around town. I'm sure they'll be very well represented come Monday night. But it just again, it just doesn't have that same feel. I could have you know, when they played in Tampa a couple of years ago. Why are they playing out there on the west coast? You know, what they wanted to do is make this a little like the Super Bowl, which means bring it to do different parts of the country had this abandoned, the college football playoff make it more of making a national and band, and sort of more nationalized the sport of college football. It's a great idea, and they really wanted to have one on the west coast. But when you talk about the west coast in California, you can't play it in Pasadena. It doesn't have the infrastructure to hold the type of event they're looking for any more like you came to hold the Super Bowl in Pasadena at this point the big LA stadiums are not built yet. So they brought it up here. Where the Pac twelve its conference championship game. And again, it's just a little bit of an outfit now would be fine. If US USC was in the game or if Washington or some other Pac twelve team in the game. Even if you had a big ten team in the game. I think it would do okay or Notre Dame? But having these to southern teams in the game and having southern teams that have been at these games so often I think is really just like it's tamp down to the event the feeling that this is a big event out here. Like, I said at the top one answered Ushida rematch, the rematch of the rematch. We are in a little bit of a been there done that type thing. So I see where it would affect the overall interest for nine Alabama. And or Clemson every day every year every week type fans. Let me ask you this one has the, and I don't know if you know this information at all face value for a ticket in this stadium. As compared to Tampa in Atlanta, and the other place that they've had it. Same more less. Did they did they correctly ticket the ticket price the event in that stadium? I think the tickets have been about the same. I think they've been going for like a face value run will run. Yeah. About like somewhere between I think it's about two hundred four fifty so not like a Super Bowl. And the tickets are like, I think like the tickets are essentially sold, you know, your sold either to the school the forty Niners have some and they and they sell their allotment. The thing is the ticket in the secondary market are not necessarily doing. Well. So the, you know, the college football playoff will be just fine. But could be a problem for the college football playoff is that it could end up with a bunch of empty seats. From Monday night, and that might not look great. But as far as the actual tickets being sold, you know for the most part their sold. They're just not necessarily. I think there could be a lot of no-shows really would look bad on TV because I was gonna say if the ticket value of values raise value, and it's about the same that it was the NCAA the two university. Nobody cares. Ticket brokers aren't making what they made previously. Well, sorry, bud. That's the gamble. You get into when you buy tickets on speculation that you can turn around and sell them for profit. But if they have empty seats. Yeah. That would not look good on TV. I let's talk about the game itself. My personal opinion. I thought just judging on television. I haven't watched play almost every single snap of every single game. They had this year and know that championship thing last year to attack by law looked at about seventy five to eighty percent for me, what was your valuation of his health? Should we expect any better this week in a championship game? I think you could expect better they felt like Alabama has felt like he was in nice shape at Oklahoma, Oklahoma. They felt like he was not limited at all. You know, whether he'll be with this ankle sprain. High ankle sprain for him to be a hundred percent within a month and a half of this of this thing. And really it's only about a month is probably not likely, but they felt like he was not limited. So you say he's not necessarily a hundred percent. But he's not limited. It really is amazing like the work that they've done on this kid. He's literally receiving treatment at all times of the day. When he is not practicing. They have like machines on him that gets the blood pumping that that control swelling and control in control in our pain management. So they have been literally working on him twenty four seven to get him. Okay. And they think now that again, he's not going to be limited unless he's gonna probably needs to be even better to a certain degree as great as he was against Oklahoma because the defense is going to be so much better. He's going to be tested by a pass. Where is she going to have fewer wide open receivers his tendency to hold onto the ball could be. Tested, a little more in this game. Because you know, you're going to have some time to work against Oklahoma that you're just not gonna have against this Clemson defensive lines fair enough. Did Mr. lines this week or I guess what? I'd be this week because they didn't know they play in Alabama that could have been speculation toward it with the way played last week, which was great against Notre Dame. He still is a freshman quarterback playing in a national championship game. One who didn't even start the season as a starting quarterback shortly thereafter, but not for gay one lot of pressure. Biggest game he's ever played in his life. Did he ever mention? I'm kinda bullied by what did last year? As a freshman quarterback gonna championship game and leading Bamut to the crown. I mean, he hasn't said that they have similar characteristics. Right. These are kids who grew up in their generation the quarterbacks and what I mean by that is like these kids have been in the spotlight since they were twelve they've been throwing a ton of they had personal quarterback coaches. They've been stars running like similar offense. They do in college. You know, since they were, you know, thirteen fourteen years old, so they are not easily flustered. This generation of quarterbacks have been the quarterback a lot. See they were young and they are not easily flustered. And I think Lawrence, he's got a golden arm. He's going to be the top pick in the draft and in twenty twenty one when he's ready to come out. I do think what he will be challenged by in this game that he has been before a Nick Sabin defense. Throws a lot at you. They are so well coached even that they're they're super complicated though. He will challenge, you know, Lawrence's ability to process information, they just so they're so. Oh, well, coach they don't make a lot of mistakes right there there. There are very few blown coverages are very few situations where somebody sort of like, let's a man run free. So all the windows are topping the tough to throwing all the windows are small and all the information has to be processed very quickly. And you there is no team in the country that is quite like, Alabama. So what he's faced coming up to this point will not necessarily prepare him for Alabama. This will be a different beasts than I think how he processes how he makes decisions how he keeps his poise will be as as important as anything because when it comes to talent the kid is just either talented as any quarterback you've seen the last few years as you talk about that Alabama defense. I need to ask you is that the best defense on the field on Monday night. Or is it the second best defense on the field on Monday night. I think the question I actually would might hedge and say Clemson is a little better defensively. I do think Al and clemson's had some issues in there the back into their defense to. I mean, if you if you watch them play, South Carolina where Texas ain't 'em. They gave up a bunch of yards in those games. And I I don't know if Alabama has been affected quite as much. I think Clemson might be a little better defensively, but don't underrate Alabama. You're quitting Williams. Their defensive their nose guard is probably the best defensive player in the country. You could have made it argument that he was the best player period. Full stop in the country. They're really good affront that they always are..
