What Matters More to the Left?

"And I thought one of the most amazing moments in the last year is like, okay, what matters the most to them? This matters more than that. And there was attention at certain points. For example, what happens when Black Lives Matter, their favorite, their go to activist groups doesn't want to get vaccinated? Does it matter? Vaccinations matter more than racial identity politics. What matters more when Kyrie Irving National Basketball Association player earning $26 million a year beloved in Brooklyn doesn't want to get vaccinated. It doesn't matter, you have to stay at home. So at that moment, biomedical fascism mattered more. Okay, let's use another example. What happens when Dave Chappelle, a darling of the Hollywood left? It's a Netflix special. Black man decides to insult, I wouldn't say insult. Make fun of the transgender alphabet mafia. Oh no, no, no. You can't do that. Doesn't matter if you're black, transgenderism in this current moment matters more than racial policies. You guys try to do this. It's totally confusing. It's intentionally supposed to be confusing, by the way. It's like this constant reordering of hierarchies. Now, I believe and this is to go a level deeper, but you guys are smart, you'll get it. The transgender movement actually matters even more than biomedical fascism and they actually are together because the transgender movement is an introductory phase to get you to strip yourself of your humanity to mess with

Trae Young on NBA 2K Rating: ‘Y’all Ever Gonna Get It Right?!’

"Young apparently is upset and we hear about this every year. It's mostly mad, and it seems like Madden. Players get more upset, which is the NFL. Then players care about their ratings. They can't do. Yes, well, apparently Trae Young is fed up. He's really fed up. How fed up Not only has he taken to social media saying, y'all ever going to get it right over his 89 ranking on two K 22, but Apparently close to people who know he talked to his agency and asked, Is there a way to sue to get him removed from the game? Because he thinks his representation is unfair. No, there's not. It's collectively bargained with the National Basketball Association. Your name, image and likeness actually was sold off by the union. That's why you pay your dues and you get your money from this. You actually paid for this trip so now thinks he is a 94 or higher, okay? For those who want to know that the highest ranking in the NBA NBA two K is LeBron James. Kevin Durant. Steph Curry 97 Be honest, They're all in 96. Then in 95, you've got quite a Leonard Luca Donges. Nicola your Joel and be James Harden. Damian Lillard. So by the way, I put him right behind them.

"Going on here says the australian team also breaks the previous record. Sixteen athletes leads competing in eleven sports among those is national basketball association player. Patty mills who is of Tori straight and aboriginal heritage and who will become the first indigenous person from australia to carry the flag in the opening ceremony. Fantastic see these these. These are things that are trackable right. F progress trackable as opposed to you know pretty words and gestures right seriously. This is like okay. Please represent us. Please represent this country. She did happily. So i haven't seen the the opening ceremonies as of yet you know. Of course the news media is all hyper focused on cova aid and they keep calling it an empty stadium but there seemed to be at least from the initial pictures. I've seen a lot of people in there. But i get it. You know. it's not the same when you have sports in you're experiencing the cheers and everything helps drive the adrenaline. Just isn't going to be there. This time But it does not diminish the representation right at all and so very very very Proud of all of the australian team in the There folks putting her forward to lead everybody in. I used this analogy before it's not. It's not the olympics. But i'll call it our olympics. Which is the indigenous games right brother. And the one that i went to and we We shot a lot of video at Really honestly Brought me to tears. I had to sit down and was you know pretty much controlling what it was is because not agansit. Nation sent one athlete that particular year. It was in minnesota and he ran into the stadium by himself with their flag. And i mean there wasn't a dry eye on room. Because because they wanted they wanted somebody from narragansett to come in and represent and he did and that that feeling just for me not not only not only just the sheer representation but the fact you know to represent the fact that we're still here and that noggins it is.

"All Americans should be concerned about what they see. In this case today. This case is truly unprecedented. The attorney general's office and the district attorney's office but a joint prosecution here because they dislike Donald Trump politically subpoena millions of documents from him personally and pressured witnesses. So that those witnesses, Chris, I want you to think about that. They subpoena millions of documents, and this is what they have. A civil matter that usually involves penalties and interest that they are not criminalizing. I want you to think about that They go back 568 10 years in the Trump Corporation. And this is what they find. This is it. This is it. Which means it's a very clean company. It's a very ethical company. It's run. Very, very well. Do you think for a second? "Especially at the collegiate level. It brings with it an element of understanding of team participation, working with one another, A challenging one self discipline and exposure to opportunities. They're very real. Something that I think we should. We should all believe in and support for young women coming into the into adulthood and into the workforce. That's a positive outcome. And you think about the The opportunities that has the potential to open for young women is extraordinary. So why? Why mess around with us? Why give the impression that there will be some level of protection brought to bear to force? People, institutions that run teams organizations that that administer and lead and manage athletic teams and efforts athletic competition in general to two Describe the status of womanhood to somebody who has all the physiological makeup components strength power endurance of a man of a competitive athletic man. Because it's not real. It just simply does not comport with the truth. Where are the voices calling for support of young women in this regard? 808 34 15 30. Let's get your calls to check in with Melissa in Sacramento. Melissa. Good afternoon. Welcome to the conversation. Thank you for holding on. Yes, I was calling about payment and sports. You know, people say they don't have equal pay and sports well for. I believe that men sports, bringing far more revenue and money than the women's doing so then therefore has to also go off of that. Right, Right. There's no doubt about that. You're gonna have a disparity there and let me look at the probably. The Classic example is the National Basketball Association versus the Women's Basketball Association and the difference there they didn't They don't draw the fans. They don't draw the theocracy, unity for equal revenue to be generated. Nonetheless, individual women who have the opportunity to compete against other women and excel in there, given a sport of choice, open incredible numbers of doors to themselves. I think they're tremendous benefits to come their way. So what about the idea of allowing them young men who are trained athletes who are like it or not, regardless of how much we want things to be different. They are frankly blessed with as I said earlier, larger bone structure, larger lungs, greater oxygen capacity, Esso to put them in a position where they're competing against women. Biological natural born women. Is that a is that a fair? Outcome for those young women, or does it put them in a disadvantage? I completely 100% agree with you, 100%. It's completely and totally unfair. Even you speaking about it is it seems to me to be ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. So. So what's your sense? Melissa's You look at the things that are going on. You know, the big issues are you gotta support minority communities. You gotta support women, which both of which I absolutely agree with. I want to see more favorable outcomes for everybody. How do you achieve that? With the two topics we've kicked around this afternoon? How do you achieve that when you have lawlessness, crime and violence running rampant, especially particularly most notably in the underserved minority communities, and now you have some, it looks like a kind of an effort to pacify people who are supportive of assuring that transgender women Meaning they're biologically men. They were born men. They have that that superior strength and capacity would be forced into accommodation for competition among female athletes where the voices to come out in support of those people who are supposedly The subject, the object of certain people of political class. You don't seem to come up for them. You know, I can't even begin to try to explain anyone's logical way of thinking When it comes to this. If you can't you can't be for women's rights and then also be You know for Making them to pet. Um, you know, unfairly against the opposite sex if it makes sense. I don't want to say thank you. I appreciate the call very much. And it all kind of the whole thing to my way of thinking goes back to who is it among us? That that has a caustic attitude or poisonous attitude or a disparate attitude towards different people based upon either their their their sex or their race or their background, their religious beliefs who harbors those thoughts. There are people among us. They're ignorant people probably who have not been around. A lot of different people certainly have not been around it. A diverse group of people in their lives. They don't understand how different people, different cultures work thinking act. But by and large, I believe most people in society the vast majority, especially people who understand the nature of our existence, that we are not to be judged not to be. Treated differently. Based upon our exterior appearance, the pigment are in our skin or what sex we happen to be, But to to always go to that, as the reason for disparity toe always first go to those issues on really truly failed to address the legitimate, sincere, foundational differences that can impact People that make up minority groups and of course women and deny them Opportunities to excel when you have these numbers that I shared early in the program that the three triple digit percentage increase in homicides in mostly minority communities in cities across the country. On bears A blind eye turned toward that. How in the world does that do anything to improve the lives of Americans? It does not Part of what you have to have is, I think an objective, honest approach. Dealing with efforts to make the world a better place to live. And it starts out with with complete and total honesty and a legitimate effort to try to deliver the most the most ideal environment in which people can pursue a good, successful, meaningful life. Not everybody has to wind up. It judged by the same standard, But people can pursue their dreams as they see fit and and enjoy what they put into their lives. We've lost that, I think overwhelmingly and it's It's easy to silence people when you assert that they make their decisions based out of animus for For women or minorities or any particular religious group, any particular ethnic group anybody that represents a community of which they are not apart. The best way to overcome that. Is to tell work diligently towards honesty, respect and candor. And until unless we do that, I think this problem gets worse. Not better. So why don't we call it? Why don't we have the courage of conviction to call these things as they are? And tow tow understand, except the fact that if you force biological men who identify as women into competitive athletic environment against women, natural women You are denying those natural woman women the opportunity to excel and compete and reap the benefits from that experience. If you fail to recognize that we have to hold people to account based upon their behavior, we created an environment that is vastly more dangerous than it need Be. Because we don't have the courage of convictions to address crime and violence where it rears its ugly head. It's absolutely foreseeable that people will suffer and the very people that we seek to benefit and, frankly, many cases exploit for the person. The purpose of political expedience are the ones who suffer the most. That's it for me, but stick around. You've got the lovely and talented Kitty O'Neil coming up next with the afternoon news. I'll be back here with you tomorrow. Have a spectacular evening.

"I am thinking about how lucky President Trump is the violent protesters and their sympathizers in the media and the National Basketball Association. May very well hand the president a victory in November as I spell out in my new column on billo'reilly dot com. There is no question that many voters do not fully approve of Mr Trump and with the pandemic still unresolved, that should be enough to defeat him. But Joe Biden has totally botched his response to radical violence and continues to come across his weak in the face of vexing problems. As Mr Biden might say, Come on, man. You've gotta have some solutions. He doesn't at least not so far. After reporting for 46 years. I know this. Americans do not want violent chaos, socialism or weak leadership. Senator George McGovern lost big to Richard Nixon in 1972, despite the Vietnam War controversy and protests everywhere today. Violent radicals are helping the very person they despise the most. And President Trump knows it. He made civil disorder a centerpiece in his nomination speech last week. And he will campaign on two things that he can revive the economy. After Cove. It And that he will stop. The madness and chaos in the streets. Now this we're in a recession, Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, the Fed his warrant, It might get worse. Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Addresses NBA Strikes For Racial Justice

"The National Basketball Association put the world on notice this week playoff games came to a halt when the Milwaukee Bucks refused to play on Wednesday in protest of the latest police shooting of Jacob Blake. A black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Protest in other leagues followed suit The W N B a major league baseball, hockey and football college athletes marched on campus in solidarity with players trying to raise awareness on racism and police brutality. To talk about what's next. We're joined by the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. Lloyd Pierce. Thank you for coming on the program. Thank you for having me so, Coach. I understand you have been in touch with Jacob Blakes. Father. Why was it important for you to reach out to him? The level of influence and access that we have as an association is really, really high and and so just the opportunity that was presented to us as coaches Our coaches association to connect with the family, I thought would be It's really impactful trying to figure out one out. They're all doing and to what we can do from a humanity standpoint, too. Really be there in support of the family. I have to ask emotionally. Did this shooting bring up feelings that you had back in June when the during the killing of Rashard Brooks in Atlanta? Every shooting as an emotional attachment, and I think every time you see another one, you know it brings you back. They just all add on and for people that are dealing with anxiety deep people are dealing with depression, people that are feeling like There's so much stress that's occurring. You can see how that comes about, you know, n Ba players sent a clear message this week that reverberated throughout the sports world. Beyond that the protests led to some concrete commitments for change. For instance, the Wisconsin Legislature committed to going into special session on police reform. What kinds of things were achieved through this action? Well, I think the biggest thing that the players were able to do was was expressed that they want to be hurt. They wanted our league toe put racial discrimination, racial profiling, racial injustice, police brutality. They wanted to put that at the forefront. Obviously, there are some tangible items that came about, you know, with with emphasis on voting, with the emphasis on forming a coalition to address these issues moving forward with the emphasis on the policing bill. Writes and addressing that from a legislative standpoint, you've been a prominent voice in Atlanta for racial justice and a protest this summer. I'm going to quote you now, you said. I was born a black man. I'm going to die a black man, But I do not want to die because I'm a black man. Why is sharing your experience with the community there in Atlanta? Important to you? I'm sharing it with anyone that'll listen. And I think it's important to note that you know, prior to June are really, really Phil. That a lot of people in our country both black and white, and any other ethnicity. We're pretty ignorant, Teo the fact that there are a lot of people that feel and think that I in the way that I do in terms of the fear of being black, the fear of living in America and being a black man. I wonder what you say to people who And we've heard this time and time again who think that athletes should be athletes and stay away from the politics? Well, I wasn't and I'm not a person who grew up interested in politics. But what I really don't see is someone that looks like me. That's our fight. Our fight is we need to address areas of legislation. We need to address areas of representation and in order to do so. It's going to require other individuals to fight for those people to be in that position, And so if it requires us athletes on us in sports to push for new representation, and that starts with the vote, then that's what that's what we're going to be committed to. You know, you're the chair of AA Committee of the Coaches Association. That's focused on racial injustice. What what do you see? Coming next from the N B A on this subject? You know, hopefully a lot of hope. There are a lot of angles that come out of this. This isn't us saying we had the answers and we're going to. We're going to tell our players. We have the answers, and this is what we're going to do know this is a different This is a different world for all of us, and so we have committed Ourselves, too. Working with Bryan Stevenson from Unequal Justice Initiative, working with the Obama Foundation in my brother's keeper on mentoring and community initiatives for low income areas, working with various individuals who Are focused in our communities on racial justice, education, access, health care, access, police reform legislative items We want to hear from them. We want to be educated, and we want to be able to amplify the work that they're doing, and that's that's been our focus from day one. That was the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. Lloyd Pierce. Thank you so much for being on our programme.

"The FDA on Saturday issuing an emergency use authorization for the new saliva Direct Corona virus test developed by the Yale University School of Public Health and the National Basketball Association. The test processes saliva samples to rapidly determine whether a person is infected with the Corona virus and does not need any swab or other specific collection device. The new test is also far cheaper than current tests costing about $4. There's a test for materials before any added labor cost. That price and a quick turnaround time could help encourage more frequent covert 19 testing in settings like schools, universities and office buildings. All Steven's Fox

"We have a lot to get to this hour of the program. We've been talking a lot of Major league baseball, but I started to show off today. Also talking a little bit of en bas, and it's so nice. It's so nice to have the National Basketball Association as they have in this, um Playing in the bubble down in Orlando, Disney World of the wide world of Sports the old Milk House. I think it's not like the HP House or something like that. It's right next to where the Braves used to play spring training. It's a great facility, and they made it even more interesting by looking at it on television, and I wanted to get Just some thoughts on what we're seeing right now in the N B, A and how they're getting their season going trying to get to those playoff Sam Smith joining us right now, long time n Ba writer from Bull's dot com n ba dot com Our guest here on CBS Sports Radio Sam Horia I'm good. Thanks. Thank you so much for joining us. By the way. When I was getting ready for the program tonight, I was talking to John running. He said Make sure First thing you do is tell Sam. Hello. John Rooney. But White Sox way remember his famous calls World Series. Exactly Exactly. All right, So let's talk about the Bulls at first, and then just The entire N ba getting starting and started on what you're saying and how you think Think things were going, so let's start with the Chicago Bulls. It's nice to be able to talk about the Bulls are playing instead of the last dance and everything from the Jordan air, although I enjoyed all your stuff on On on the on the documentary. But give me your thoughts on how the bulls are doing right now and what we're seeing. I don't know if they were they'd been contracted. You know, the Adam Silver took eight teams out of the league bench, so they're basically not doing anything. It's kind of interesting. What it is, I guess. Let me let me I'm getting backwards. Here. Give me your thoughts on on. What? Well, let me back up for second, cause I got ahead of myself here. Just give me your thoughts on what we're seeing in the bubble right now. Yeah, You know, it's it's Ah, well, let me say a couple of things one. I don't know all the regulations, but apparently they told them to do social distancing at the rim. Because I don't see anybody stopping layup. It's kind of a It seems like an experience. You know, A lot of the players have talked about. Well, it's like a you You know where they kind of put together and playing a lot of games in a short period of time. In it, and it seems like it's kind of a high level preseason. No, it's not. It's not quite. You know, there's this tremendous scores. You know, if you watch the scores and the shooting, everybody Standing around shooting a lot of threes. Think Houston is again. You know, Of course, they should all the crazy threes. And to get rid of anybody over 65 on the team, So there's a lot of experimentation. Come on going on now, you know, Understandably, they've been off five months almost so You know, just getting back into it. I think that the overall quality of play has been pretty good. Um, offensively and defense takes teaching and takes time and takes teamwork. And I think they pretty much abandoned that and they said, Well, we're just going to run up and down and shoot. So it's kind of entertaining on that level. The other thing that stuck out to me Also You know, watching some of these games with startup but which, you know, it is great to see it again is I think the Eastern teams you know, we've talked about so many years Older West dominance and everything. I think the Eastern teams are far better than the Western teams. Eastern teams have played better played harder, You know, look more complete. Milwaukee, Toronto, Boston Miami. Ah, Philadelphia, Um and I think you know the middle teams in the West end for Utah. Oklahoma City, Houston, Even you know, other than hard Nola's shooting. Don't look as good And now it's really the West that is loaded on top. You know what the Lakers and the Clippers You know, everybody pretty much expects will be the conference finals and should hopefully will be there by far to meet the two best and there's a huge gap between them and everybody else. And when we get into, you know when we get done with this eight game thing, which is You know, basically just to try to get New Orleans instead of into the playoffs and on TV for a little bit. Ah, which interesting low It seems like the pelicans don't want to be in the play offs. You know, they've been sittings Ion. They lost the first couple of games. You know when the league kind of came up with this crazy edition of 16 You know, kind of get Zion and try to get him on people operating in the summer and You know, Apparently, they need to ask you in New Orleans about it doesn't look like New Orleans wants to make the playoffs. It looks like they're ready to go home and the planning for next season, But I thought the Eastern teams have been Very good, and then we get into the playoffs, which is what this is What it should have been. It should have been just the playoffs is 16. 22 teams is ridiculous. One thing I did want to add to think the league made one big mistake. You know, it's it's hard for regular fans Toe watch this thing because, and I understand you know the symptoms. You know what they put on the jerseys and that's fine, You know? The MBA puts you know they buy. They sell part of the uniforms for corporate corporate sponsors. So to me, it's okay. You know, they have somebody slogans on there, but they gotta have the player's names on there. I mean, I watched the N B a all the time and I don't know who some of the players start there. When I'm watching. I don't know what every player looks like. I can't imagine regular fans. And so I think I think they made a big mistake by AH, keeping the names off the jerseys and it's okay to like they say that said the sayings. Equality and black life matters. That's fine. You know, they don't need to team names on We know who the teams are right. Don't know all these players. So I disappointed to see that because it's hard to you know the broadcasters who are good. Ah, broadcasting like it's TV, and they need to broadcast like it's radio because you can't tell who some of the players ironic, you know, because some teams have had, guys you know. Opt out and some guy's been injured or sick. Whatever a lot of teams of and a lot of new guys, and it's hard to tell who they are. See Salmon. Glad you said that I worked down in Miami that 7 90 the ticket for a long time covering the Miami heat that I watched their game yesterday and I was like, Okay, well, I think that's I think I know who that is. And you know, guys have different haircuts. Guys have long hairs. Guys have come and gone, And it's been five months since I watched the N B a I was struggling at times watching this weekend, trying to figure out who was what in and I thought the same exact thing is, you know as good as the job that they were doing with with Ah, Mike Bream and everybody down in the bubble. I still couldn't follow the actual because I wasn't sure who had the ball and who was shooting? Yeah, No, I think that's a terrible mistake. They made. Um maybe for the playoffs. I don't know if you know they they seemed so I understand. You know, the very satisfied You know what the hell thing Which is I? It made sense that it was gonna work. I didn't understand. Going into this over the last couple of months, you know, gloom and doom. Because they were goingto lock these guys up basically. And you, you know, police regularly test them regularly. Followem limit activities. You know, you see the You know the overhead shots down there with all the baseball stadiums surrounding that area, right? That's where Major League baseball should've gone. They should have done the same thing. Andi think they've been a lot of better off but You know, I think the MBA is just so thrilled that they're going to get through this. And you know, the health has been great. There haven't been any guys testing ill. And even if even if you know somebody do, does they have they have plans to deal with it and You know, bring players and expanded roster, whatever and you know, get guys out, so that looks like it's gonna work Great, And I think there are just so thrilled that they're going to be able to get through it. Do that..

"The National Basketball Association is resuming play today with a very different look after a Corona virus hiatus. The ENDA gave a preview of what it's calling the whole new game at its new facility at Walt Disney World near Orlando. There's no bench. No courtside announcers and folding chairs are set up in three rows several feet apart for players toe have some distance theory Nas that will be used for the exhibition's the seeding games that start July 30th. And in the playoffs starting next month, are set up much differently to incorporate safety during the pandemic, Also reflecting a sign of the times across the center stripe are painted the words black lives matter. I'm Jackie Quinn. President. Trump says his administration's doing a good job containing Corona virus outbreaks in responding. We're needed. We did a lot of things right in President Trump's first virus briefing in months without his scientific advisors on hand, he says the administration is getting medical personnel and supplies to the communities hardest hit and he's urging but not requiring Americans to wear a mask to help protect those susceptible to bad outcomes from the new Corona virus, he says, mostly the elderly understanding these risk profiles and Learning how to treat the disease. We've been able to greatly reduce mortality of the United States. In fact, we'll show you A chart and how well we do compared to the rest of the world, 142,000 Americans have died of covert 19 according to Johns Hopkins University. That's the highest number in the world. Jackie Quinn Washington The Trump Administration is defending its crackdown on protesters in Portland, Oregon, and the president is expected to discuss moving into other cities where violence is breaking out. Chicago has been mentioned as a city where President Trump might send federal troops and a funeral home shooting Tuesday could add fuel to that fire in Portland. The mayor and governor want the federal troops gone, saying they're stirring up more unrest. But acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf says someone has to stop violent protest their criminal activity every single night for 52 nights. Into the lack of action from city officials. Philadelphia's district attorney's accusing President Trump of exaggerating the violence in his city almost 100% peaceful protest here for weeks. So when he's talking about taking over cities, and he's talking about cities being out of control, he is lying. Sub legal experts doubt the courts will intervene to block the White House. I'm Jackie Quinn. Thank.

"Be the rocket mortgage by Quicken Loan studios when you need certainty in home buying and the process with it. With alone. It fit your life Rocket can If you do hear fireworks in the background, that would be my next door neighbor who My wife is already made some snide comment about because they were shooting off fireworks earlier tonight. It has ceased in the last 20 minutes, but it doesn't mean it's not going to start again. And while I am down in the basement of my home It's not quite a soundproof studio, so you may actually get a little fireworks in the background. It's not the worst thing in the world. Unimportant July there fireworks on the background, right? You don't usually hear it on the radio. But what the hell maybe well here tonight. We are going to do another combo show. It will be mostly sports, but we will talk about they go hand in hand, not only in life, but in sports, too. We're trying to get sports back. We've gotten some back. Portrays. It never really went away. Certain track shut down, and I've opened now all the major tractor open without fans. But they are Ah, open again. Now. The P D A is back there in Detroit this week for the rocket mortgage's open more powers to Matt Wolf, who's got a solid three stroke lead. You have to go in 64 64 the last two days. He's three strokes ahead. A brace and D shambo on the tour this week, so we got got back. And we are working hard to get Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League back as well. I like I said, I'm an optimistic guy. I got one tweet yesterday. I don't know if you guys were listening. I filled in for Ziggy. Zack, Help taken some downtime getting Tamala Daytime in s O. He was off Nice long weekend for Mr Galba. He was off last night. So I filled in in his stead. And I got one tweet where the guy just crushed me. I don't mind taking a little grief on Twitter every once in a while specifically when I earn it, I can do or say something stupid. And when I do you have my permission to Ah rake your Favorite talk show host over the coals all you want, but a guy just don't cold killed me yesterday, basically saying, I may know nothing contrarian. And I just say things to get a reaction and I the audience never agrees with me. That was his basic point that the order audience never agrees with me, and I just I don't think that's accurate. I think that I'm a positive guy. I think it'll be guy. I think I look on the bright side of life all the time. But more than anything else, I'm a realistic guy. And if I don't think something's going to happen, or if I think there's issues with the way that there's going to come down Well, then, yeah, I'm going to tell you that. And while I'm very hopeful that we can get Major League baseball, the N B A N E. NHL back And start the NFL on time. I'm just not sold it. They're going to be able to get in full seasons. I praise all the sports. For at least attempting to get back. We have had no tragedy. So far, there's been no one that has tested positive while working out with his team and then needed to be rushed off to hospital and put on a ventilator. S o. To this point. We've been able to avoid any major Tragic moments, but we've had a bunch of positive tests and a popped up begin today in Major league baseball. I was surprised At the numbers when they first came out that they were as low as they were, but I It all depends on the reporting, and no one is overseeing this Major league baseball's handling this themselves. So there's no It's not like we've got the governors of the states of the marriage of their cities. With the results. These teams themselves and some teams there really Really been hit hard. I don't think the Phillies have had, like 12 people test positive for cocaine 19 and this is the first week now they had some who tested positive as they were wrapping up the collective bargaining agreement. I don't know. If they still count they were at the training facility down in Clearwater. They did say it was Philly personnel, which included some workers, not players. They didn't get specific on what workers meant. Where was it? Strengthen conditioning guys. Was it coaches? Was it clubhouse attendants? Was it hired assistant Who knows? But I know that they have now released the names of at least and they still haven't released names completely. They came out with an injured listed the Phillies. And they had six players on the injured list, two of which they listed the injury. The other four they just put down is injured. And there's some simple laws and privacy things that they have to get permission from the player first, before they note that the player tested positive for covert 19 and a positive test doesn't mean that they have it. It just means that they may have been in close association with someone who has tested positive. So the Phillies already have their fair share issues. I just When it gets underway. When we see some of the ways the teams are going to try and keep their players safe in all of protocols that Aaron Place how they actually work out really life, whole bunch of Iran paper and I've been able to read on what they're going to attempt to dio, but until you actually see it You don't really know if it's going to work or not. So we shall say Aye, aye. I feel badly that I'm not 100% behind this and I am 100% cry behind trying. But I'm not 100% believing that they're going to be able to pull it off. And I surely am not alone. Ah, couple hours ago, I guess I was on a computer and I saw that David Price of the Boston formerly the Boston Red Sox. Currently a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, But he will be a non participating member of Major league Baseball here. Hey, decided to opt out. He's not going to pitch for the Dodgers this year. He just doesn't know if it's thwarted for his house. His family self, he doesn't want to put himself at risk. He is giving up like $11 million what he was scheduled to make for the final 60 games of the season. He had already lost 20 But he was scheduled to make night. Like another 11. The Dodgers will say vote for that. But the Red Sox will save some because They were.

"For the players in the National Basketball Association which you know is at quite a organization to move but he has done it in a lot of ways getting these guys the highest value for what they've done he basically has helped to change the salary structure in the NBA but obviously for the entire entirety of Michael Jordan's career hi David Faulk was his representative and after what we've just watched over the last five weeks getting to see what Michael Jordan was all about it is a great opportunity have David park John is here on the show and David first well we appreciate you joining us here on K. away in Denver and the first thing I've got for you is how much do we really see a Michael Jordan really is in this five week documentary that we got to watch what you saw I think it shows clearly why he's the goat in the NBA history once the best part both ends of the court and you dominating incredible will to win played scored thirty eight points in the NBA finals with food poisoning scored sixty three points in the second year coming back from a four month layoff with a broken nose racial bonus basically is according under false athletes and you saw his incredible motivational side which you really can see is the soft side of Michael Jordan you know when he's with his friends when he's with his family is very low key man he's very humble very respectful amazing friend but his desire to win in particular when he came back from baseball and he was thirty one years old you know we only had a few prime years last and he wasn't going to allow anyone to take those championships or you know one of the things that I've I've been paying attention to and it's not been talked about a lot David is the the the brand awareness that Michael Jordan head and I'm I have to admit watching him dress in some of the nicest suits of this time was quite refreshing the may because we know that we have to have an old NBA changed into a thousand by what a commission I had to tell people start to dress night but this was part of Mike's mistake if the wedding dress was always start we suffer so it's kind of amazing sense of style he's very actively involved in you know your shoes that that bear his name the perks colors designs used to he used to cruise fashion magazines women's fashion magazines for colors and color combinations and now back in the day back in his day tremendous competition among suppliers who's the best dressed as a Campbell's who's gonna do the jeans posters and Charles Oakley was good friend of mine used to where you know sorbet colored suits why and my mentor Clyde Drexler Olajuwon really pride themselves on how they looked and then it started eating carrot culture changed her popped again man and gosh storage western definitely but Dr Michael stay on how your trash was was really important a statement for your did that did that was that did you have to talk to him about that was that part of the whole deal I was was black which used Tuesday I you know I started work with Michael last thirty three years old I work for a very big company I was very successful by the time we started our lips are sealed Ford was the national player of the year from you and see your nineteen seventy eight marks Johnson's the national player of the year and seventy seven no James worthy is the number contrasts and you know you don't have any props the intro but United football and I saw my second guy ever had James lost signed the largest deal in NFL history by thirty five percent we completely changed who is the highest pick bloomer you pay for the Bengals promised by daughter's godfather crystal was the highest paid defensive player no we did we did some really good work football sh but Michael I wasn't making any money or work for a big company and attorney teenager asked permission nine hundred and fifteen thousand dollars and might be used laughter I bought my suits appendix I like didn't I didn't have a budget so now he's he's got his own as a sense of style not just in close but it's home she helps designers homes the color combinations and surfaces or spectacular he's just got a Amanda says to stop well you obviously have a tremendous sense of being able to convince him to do things that maybe didn't feel like it was the thing to do I mean I he talked about in the documentary how he you know he wanted to be an adidas guy and this company that at that time Nike wasn't wasn't really even into the the basketball business but I mean could you even of fathomed that that Nike deal that Michael Jordan cut way back in the day with you would be what it is today we don't know what personal sold I couldn't find a match thank you but you know and that you know you you bring up a really important issue which is I've always felt that the role of an agent I'm a lawyer by training Michael my son Michael never called myself a teacher I was calling myself a lawyer the wall of the lawyers to be an adviser and when your financial question you gotta give me the best advice what do you think he's gonna like it or not like it and then it's up to him what he wants to listen so we represent it on das we represent the owner of adi das in nineteen eighty two Horst awesome was father founded the company in nineteen thirty nine and I do think it was a good fit for my sake that they would do enough form had a lot of very big time athletes a lot of whom we represent in our company a lot of our tennis players including stance brokers all time leading selling shoe in volume Michael has a dollars and horse died Horst also died the company was in disarray and the head of marketing internationally John Boulter told me we'd love to have Michael but we don't have the wherewithal just point nineteen eighty four like what you wanted to work Congress was willing to do it I felt like he was a UPS store they were the underdogs they were hungry and they would be the most aggressive marketing him and so my job was to persuade him that was the best opportunity form and they did it no we play slow about his mom got him on the plane Dorsch region tremendous woman and they did a great job selling enough I would have known that your one this is crystal a hundred twenty six million dollars worth of shoes instead of asking for million plus a year for five years asking for dollars here and fifty percent well no one no one no one could have anticipated he L. sold every other shoe company in America that the basketball is working here he sold more dollars for issues with customers so could either disappear that only find a crystal ball I'm I just I guess I was that's what they've you know what I I've I've seen reports out there of how particular and how picky Michael Jordan is N. as his agent slash lawyer I said I see lawyers slash agent I heard about some of the deals that are out there is it true that he once turned down a hundred million dollars for two hours signing session or appearance session well he turned out a hundred billion dollar deal three years ago but that required him to license his name to a company the only personal service you have to do involved into our courage to just was something he wasn't comfortable you know when when you got to the level where he's at no one else really sucked out level baby tiger you know you should be very picky because everything you do affects the brain and he you know I respect the fact that he doesn't want to do anything that he doesn't feel comfortable that he just feels compatible this is our portfolio companies and he did turn down a two hour appearance to be turned out a call for prince for seven million dollars for one day and and get kids to pass office through the national that that is nuts yeah he asked me if I thought she'd become indigent I said how is it why would I want to play golf with a bunch of guys who play like you and I'm not attack off of the nineteen hello well not bad but I love the fact you know more than anything the thing I'm most proud with Michael three six one hello I have the opportunity to work for this entire career and that he believed in me enough to stay with me for some time cooler and two I'd say you know very proud of the air Jordan relationship which is easily the most successful marketing affiliation history of professional sports thanks for answering you know what I'm most proud of is that he enabled me to teach him the business of sports and today at age fifty seven Michael's very astute businessman exposure there you know like he sells more shoes every player in the NBA combined that has their own name should be to call in and you took you know curry threat Labonte mall together and multiplied by probably two they don't sell insurance also the staff and that that's something you know that's something that's mostly true return Michael Smith's popularity you know the fact that he's the greatest player of all time and employers should be able to effectively make a decision to go in nineteen seventy S. let me ask you this if there is a young person out there listening to this show and they want to be in your business to business business of being a lawyer slash agent okay is there a chance to find another Michael Jordan out there okay okay give you two answers to certain questions absolutely not I've said this hundreds of times there may be players come along that more statistical counted Michael will never be another player in many ways because of the culture of the sport today comes from a family like he came from a two amazing parents who aren't typical athletic parents should take their kid is the greatest thing since sliced bread they constantly pushed him to improve as a person to be polite to be finished school top high character he went to one of the top coaches in the country in the history of college basketball teams staff played on a team with two guys who the number one picks of the draft two years on the side of a change for the navy to Brad darting eighty six and who has to drive the intelligence the seven yes it will never happen again in my opinion and I've represented hundreds of players if you found a young person I want to be in the business I would tell you how when I tell the students about college research university called the David B. Falk college of sport you Madonna looks to double one sports program in.

"Three or six weeks to recover for precautionary reasons many American institutions are beginning to shut down to stop the outbreak they think the NBA National Basketball Association has suspended its entire season until further notice after a key player in the Utah Jazz team tested positive another player has tested positive to NHL hockey season canceled until further notice baseball Major League Baseball will cancel the rest of spring training and delayed the start of the regular season by at least two weeks because of the outbreak entertainment Disneyland in California out here will close on Saturday amid concerns over the spread of the new virus Saint paddy's day events all around the country are being canceled as well the NC double a men's and women's basketball tournaments have been canceled now I know why they call it March madness president trouble find out tomorrow with the Brazilian leader he sure cans with has tested positive for the corona virus a top aide for the leader has already tested positive so we'll find out about that and I'll listen to this story a Chinese government spokesperson has tried to blame the United States Army for the deadly corona virus outbreak which was declared a pandemic by the who the World Health Organization the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson claimed that the United States military might have brought the covert nineteen via I rushed to the Chinese city of Wuhan where the outbreak emerged in December can you believe that that they would say that that tells me there's something going on with his laboratory theory of mine why can cruises has announced it would suspend all sailings until may princess cruises follow suit saying it will cancel all sailings between March twelfth and may tenth other ships are scheduled to arrive in Alaska during that period but local officials expect cancellations to spread their two years are met master mariner captain Kelly Sweeney with us Kelly I guess it's a good idea to cancel some of these cruises but why the panic my friend what were your age will be is there is definitely ships are the vector that pandemics in the past have moved by and I don't think it's any different now with this administration and my opinion has abdicated its constitutional responsibilities secure our coastal borders we still do not do any screening of cargo ships coming into our ports to prevent the importation of the virus now on a cruise ship I can understand why the crucial for camping because you have no way to avoid contact that's part of the cruise experience for passengers there's no way to avoid contact with all the people of all the different people gonna be swimming in the pool all the people prefer different people going to be going through the buffet line handling different utensils grabbing the food so on so forth so they're just saying they're throwing in the towel thing there's no way we can control this now there's countries they're taking a proactive stance Singapore for example has established mandatory health checks by medical personnel for anybody who had any crew member who goes into a Singapore and port on a show on a cargo ship that's mandatory they check everybody and I'd be in my opinion we're going to have to start doing this here in the United States every crew member that comes to our ports on a foreign vessel needs to be have a health check where government officials are medical officials in the court Barton no exceptions tell me if you're on a ship and you found out that there are a lot of the crew members had this virus that they tested positive for it would you panic well I would certainly panic yes and as a master of the vessel if I were coming into any port a lot so United States port I would be required to notify the authorities that we would head with that we had that situation and therefore I can expect that we would be quarantined and probably kept you know under observation for a large period of time for a week and we're talking ships you know a charter ship we're talking easily you know thirty fifty sixty thousand Bucks today to run the ship and so that's just gonna sit not making any money but what I worry about are the foreign ships becoming your words and they have foreign captains for cruise and you are arguing we guarantee that they're going to be honest and open with their or a virus illness is on board and I'm not sure we can say that George is a good point Kelly watch the story for us if you would well the pessimism continues on Wall Street the Dow plunges ten percent for its worst day since nineteen eighty seven since a crash then as the corona virus fears crushes Wall Street bulls who else better to talk to about this one the Michael Michelle black mesh why don't they just hold on to their stock and it'll go back up again it's it's pretty nasty out there first excellent comments by Kelly and a great synopsis by you are on all the closures on the ships the airlines Saint paddy's day parades is baseball action not baseball yet but basketball and hockey the I'm looking it's what happened here in the last sixteen days yours we had the fastest correction of twenty percent in history the steps but down twenty percent or more this is the next closest to this was actually in nineteen twenty nine this is bordering on panic selling here now and they're literally selling everything bit coin was down fifty percent at one point yeah amazing doors golden the past few days actually is taking a hit to down look about eight percent or so you know certainly nothing like what the stock market has hit down twenty percent you look at some individual issues like like Boeing they've spent forty three billion dollars in stock buybacks George and guess what now they're doing emergency they're can they're cashing tapping in an emergency credit line for thirteen billion and I think we're going to see more and more of this companies were were feeling great they were borrowing money to buy back shares and pretty soon they're gonna be under water looking at a couple of charge I put together tonight George just to explain how far we've fallen the the Dow was falling about eight thousand five hundred points roughly from the top in another two thousand points we will have taken back all the gains since trump took office the S. and P. five hundred down nine hundred points from behind just in sixteen days another two hundred points would take back all the gains no we're talking about all the way back to November two thousand seventeen why eight two thousand eighteen two thousand nineteen twenty three years worth of stock market gains we're talking about here there were gone white Terry close to wiping out I gotta ask you I mean why the panic I mean they're acting as if this virus has destroyed the planet well look at what is going to do to the earnings of these corporations B. these stocks were were priced for perfection I don't believe they're fairly valued right now even after this decline I think they're still high I think you're still hard I I'm thinking you know if if we take back all the gains since two thousand seventeen we're still left chest pains I wouldn't even I would say they're still over valued yours this is how high we got stocks were as overvalued as they were in nineteen twenty nine and also in two thousand seven and two thousand one but this is a little bit different because there's not in control here the fed can't control coronavirus you cannot stop it missed you they can't do it at all in your blog of course which we've got linked up in Twitter tells it all Mitch thanks so much the United States is carrying out retaliatory strikes in Iraq against Iranian backed militias in response to a rocket attack Wednesday that killed two U. S. troop members of the British service member as well Europe and Russia have decided to postpone their Mars rover mission the ExoMars vehicle was due to launch to the red planet in July or August but engineers aren't able to get the vehicle ready in time so this pushes it back until twenty twenty two what else is going on in the skies let's check with Peter Davenport from the national uniform reporting center a Peter what do you got for this week good evening Georgia over the past thirteen days I've received approximately four hundred new eye witness reports and among those new reports are the following five which I'd like to share tonight apparently UFOs or if they're under quarantine they're not observing the first reported like to share comes from Concord New York it's about thirty miles north of New York City on the Hudson River gentleman rights is on the third of March she was at twenty three hundred and fifteen hours the eleven fifteen PM he was out walking with his dog when suddenly the dog came back to him and started carrying around his legs he didn't understand what was going on in the looked up in the sky back into the sky and the saw that the the cigar shaped craft distinctly gray in color just hovering he said it looked like something like it's a bargain with the rounded with a we're looking craft very strange looking craft indeed and this is the he described himself as in the room military buff he'd never seen anything like it but certainly as he was looking at it it just disappeared in a flash and then instantly says next reported like for sure comes from dell of an Wisconsin a woman reported seeing seven orange illuminated lights moving across the sky I'm a little uncertain about this report I have some more work to do on it I've got to talk to or it may be some of those starlink satellites but the interesting thing about this report is she reports the all of the all seven of the lights disappeared in the same incident.

"Coast Georgian already with you for the next hour this hour we're going to talk about the corona virus with you I want to get your views on it unless you some questions as well New York Chicago and Boston have either canceled or postponed the Saint paddy's day festivities as well some places do it on Saturday St paddy's day of course is next Tuesday the National Basketball Association has suspended its season for the foreseeable future unbelievable the men and women's NC double a college basketball tournaments they are only going to allow staff and family members inside the arenas to watch the finals you cannot you can watch it on television of course but you can't go there at all so all kinds of strange things are happening over this so let's go to the phones and get your take on things let's start with Blair in Sedona Arizona Hey Blair what a situation huh you know Georgia allowance great fan of the late comedian George Carlin obviously you remember George yes great guy well he said Americans have been bought off in silence by gizmos and toys and as a result no one is ever learn to question things now in regards to the corona virus I had a good friend of mine summer break and about three or four days ago channel the doctor peoples and this is what he had to say about the corona virus it takes me about forty six okay he said fear is of the pandemic it is been around for centuries and the only cure for it is love along with healthy doses of faith trust kindness and gratitude note how fear has spread faster than the corona virus itself your politicians religious leaders medical industry and others know much about the psychology of fear and how to use it to control the masses they've been doing it for centuries the greatest rebellion that you could have on earth is the rebellion against fear the smallest acts of kindness warmth against yours offerings of food for the hungry shelter for the homeless Noreen some of the media and replacing all of the time you spend listening to it with good thoughts hi Hey readers healing touch and prayers for those who are awash with fear that they may know god's love in their life and that's Dr people so summer bacon March seventh twenty twenty thank you George for allowing me to share that thank you Larry appreciate your being part of the program next stop will is in Los Angeles on the wildcard line high well good morning hi George good morning to you as well on I actually I'm entirely agree with the last caller and the quote that he is invoking the art think it's really important actually wish that all of our readers would share that on that sentiment but at the same time we know the client it is one way that our leaders can show love by making science on the the guiding force when you're discussing a medical crisis and I think we know who we've been using science and who have not been using science and I think it would be really helpful for you to have someone on from the CDC or some other government agency put out there to them I'm sure that you know the size of your audience they would be happy to explain why this is not a hoax as some leaders might say or white not worth making fun of in waiting for to go away because the way the numbers work is different than the regular flu the mortality or morbidity rates are different and I'm not going to complain that I'm not a scientist but reading and listening to science on that's a that's would come across sure we know that every year the regular flu kills large numbers of people and we haven't gotten there yet with this one but even angle Merkel in Germany said that she expects based on the scientific projections of among doctors in her cabinet that sixty to seventy percent of all Germans over the next year to two years will be will come down with this virus we need China though also to come clean and tell us exactly what they did and how they did this okay George and get someone from China but they won't they won't talk that's the problem you're spinning conspiracies by not having somebody else on there talking to LA Marge duly about this is just you know fanning the flames of abetted the conspiracy get a scientist on the air well we're working on that believe me well for it to be a few weeks you've been saying what do you know why this is funny stuff and you know I wonder why not Linda Moulton Howe why isn't she on the air anymore I think that because they people want to have science discussed at night like wandering in and you know getting people are riled up but there is no science announced by anybody yet all we all know all we see are people from the CDC pop on or some of the members of the presidential media or some of the presidents members of his psyche his staff come on and talk about the number of cases the mortality rate let me tell you why the mortality rate is as high as it appears to be percentage wise the numbers are still low but percentage wise is because they haven't counted the amount of people who have come down with this virus which will lower the mortality rate there must be thousands of more people who have this then we've reported text and tweets Tom what do you have for this one in from Karen in South Dakota the news reporting on the coronavirus is ridiculous why is it that the news media doesn't recognize the line between informing people and just plain fear mongering well they're all jumping on this and I've never seen anything like it in the heat my broadcast is crazy where they have just continually pounded away at a story that makes people it makes the world just and I'll go nuts I gotta have you ever been next to somebody who has had the flu yes do you run away do you panic I do not run away just tanning cautioned as more your back up a little yeah in the use of the smart thing that's that's what you have to do in this thing I don't think we should be canceling every event I mean the NBA cancels the revenge because one player one player I know it has a positive for this year one player yeah I don't think they're telling us enough just to be careful they're just kind of impending how bad I mean they're they're they sound like everybody that comes in contact with that individual is going to come down with it they lost is not the case away all their food buffets there is that that the NHB the national association of broadcasters has canceled its annual event in Las Vegas Coachella that music they've moved it back to October down the road it's strange let's take Jan in Brooklyn New York welcome to the program may Jan at that she your baby elephants to China with people were actually fully Gavin street passing now who knows probably I get them great ideas you know people don't realize they can get health food stores and get these kids like with the stragglers Jennette and Byron Byron that's good that's good version in the menu system and boost you yeah it's really fantastic and also corral I I find really good they started taking it now what do you six going on Jim what what do you think's going on I'm I don't think it's not you do you think it's real I think I think he just readily body come down with it and now build up your meaning I don't know if we want to do that look the virus Israel okay however it came about it's real it's out there but is it as horrible as everybody says because I again let me tell you when we first heard about the deaths in the state of Washington that all occurred in the Seattle area at that time there was nine deaths I believe I have my executive producer Lisa call the state of Washington and said at this time they didn't even have it to the it was what it was like March third or fourth or something like that that they have the total of nine deaths and I wanted a comparison of how many people have died from the seasonal flu in the state of Washington as well in that region they went back they could only go back to Feb twenty two that that was their last count that they have they hadn't had up to March fourth like the coronavirus deaths were so the corona virus deaths were nine they went back to Feb twenty two the deaths in the state of Washington from the seasonal flu seventy four yet nobody reported that except us that's a real huge story and you have to compare it you really do one of the other problems nobody's really been tested not a lot so we don't know what these people have whether they have the regular flu whether they have the people who have the regular flu might have the corona virus and we just don't know it's a mess any in Alabama welcome to the program go ahead any thank you George for taking my call I understand the sentencing is given an interview to the Taiwan news he wrote an article in the lancet medical journal and what he has to say makes more sense than anything I'm gonna explain to you why I believe this is more dangerous than a lot of all the seasons is because it's a binary bio weapons in this Dr ing come on this is that he believes rester caring this is me I know you said that before but do you think it was created in a laboratory I believe that both the rents were weaponized and the virus created in the same in the same institute of virology of Wuhan and I'm going to tell you what Kathleen Kelly Sweeney tell me he's his wrists come across the ocean in these cargoes she yeah they're all over the place and that's how they got over here and now the rich or lose over here well it was rats that constable Blahnik plague back many many years ago all right here in effect you know you all the pieces of the puzzle people will understand how it yet people have been telling me that he'd better not say anything about the S. and they've cut my radio all they've been jamming my radio who told you who told you what kind of payment I was on another show rewards came over the telephone you told me that they had cut my radio also they cut my phone off here real soon well they haven't done that yet well not right now not right but I did finally get on that show but look all of I I will agree with you is something very bizarre weaponize threats in nineteen forty two Joseph Stalin used weaponized dressed in World War two you went to the radio and it can backfire because of Russian soldiers founded in other civilians holiday well I don't I haven't heard a lot of people say they were around rats in order to get that situation let's go next who who's up Deborah in Savannah Georgia east of the Rockies hi Debra go ahead hi George nice to hear a friendly voice well you.

U. if it doesn't totally respect Britain's sovereignty and south one the police have shot dead a man after London stabbing incident police say was a terrorism related incidents are we're about two minutes left to go in the Superbowl Kansas city has regained the lead up twenty four to twenty so it's going to be a bang bang finish forty nine to get the ball in San Francisco I'm at Baxter art let's get back to you guys Juliet thank you so much and we are joined from Hong Kong now by polls and do head of multi asset consolations and client advisory at B. and P. power by asset management of course I've seen a lot of recent market volatility of poll and it said the latest with the corona virus has that shifted your investment strategies it'll hello thanks for having me so the corona viruses definitely cause a bit of an up tick in and volatility especially in Asia and and also across the globe but going into this into this new event we were we were having this re balancing of were our strategies from develop markets into perhaps emerging markets and and specifically Asian markets and this volatility does bring some opportunities as well right so we've seen the market decline quite a bit and over the next few months what we're going to see is for their spikes downward and and that's going to create some good opportunities to do a little bit more global diversification which is what we're going to be looking for in two thousand twenty so if you help me understand exactly what that means sure sold going you know it didn't help me understand I'm gonna quickly go back even even further right so the two thousand a financial crisis the growth you'd be coming off of the two thousand eight financial crisis there has been significant and because of the the two thousand sixteen changing in politics and the regulation of the coloring of that so it was very difficult or I could I could put it this way with the wrong answer to be a globally diversified because the the U. S. market in particular but develop markets also were where the place to be but going into two thousand twenty and then towards the end of two thousand nineteen we saw a lot more volatility come up and so on a risk adjusted basis the global market became a little bit more balanced so this is the right time to shift from more concentrated strategy to a more diversified strategies and where do we get that diversification the the correlation between bond and equity is quite high so out the cost of the diversification is not the most effective way to get the diversification the actual most effective way to get the diversification that were looking for is across markets and that supported by this view globalization after right so we have to we have to bifurcate or or or or separate between how countries are interacting with one another with respect to trade and supply lines and policy versus how how the markets are interacting with one another and in terms of fun flow rate as the as the latter becomes more be globalized for more you know cut off what happens up happening is you get more of a benefit to go across market and invest so what we're telling investors is whatever your home currency is see seek diversification across the across borders and gets more global diversification pulled resignation always a good strategy you mentioned there about yields though and of course last week we saw that invasion of the three month ten year for the first time in several months how much longer do you see government bold yields he is staying law so it is a let's talk about kind of the inverted real Curtis and or the slope Yoker pretzel what that really means is that investors see more near term turbulence versus long term turbulence right so they want to get paid more near term because they see you they see risk happening and so the answer answer to that question is because of because of some of the near term risks that we're seeing and you know I could talk about some of them for example this this virus that has taken hold or the US elections coming up investors are going to be looking to put on more longer term strategies and we actually we actually see that in the volatility implied volatility curves so for example investors are utilizing short term protection so put strategies to cover that in the short term market risk but on the longer side we see less about protection being put in place meaning that on a long term basis investors are a little bit more confident than on a short term basis they really want to cover those downs the downside I don't do you not see the risk of there being kind of bubble like conditions in both bond markets and in global equity markets certain developed global equity markets so I think that so with it we're we're seeing it is the fundamentals are still sound like even an age of the fundamentals are getting better right so the so you know X. X. the virus X. some of this again this near term volatility the it didn't move still applies for a global diversification right so we're so we still are buying dips in the US market and we will be over the next few months our current stance is is this reallocating some two to Asia in particular as as the ball to the kind of Wayne's so we do believe that the fundamentals are better now and the concern of a global meltdown or global bubble forming has waned a little bit going into two thousand twenty just based off of the the fundamentals and and again off of what the IMF has said well the last few months as well so you looking kind of I guess positively here and you've mentioned as well the K. to diversify but it's very quickly Gemini contrarian views for twenty twenty so I'll contrarian views or or are you just are just that I think that Asia we are very bullish on on Asia and and getting more bullish we we do see with volatility comes opportunity so we're going to be looking for markets that have exhibited volatility to see if we can find opportunities there in terms of in terms of the the the bond market we're we're moving towards locales that of hard.

NBA-China standoff intensifies over controversial tweet

"So Daryl Morey he's the general manager of the Houston Rockets have put out a tweet the other day basically saying he stands with Hong Kong we stand with Hong Kong and when we all we being a collective as this country should go yep that's right I mean there there's nothing controversial about that right China is a corrupt authoritarian regime they're awful they're terrible and for four years and if you think communism's okay even if you're a Bernie bro for decades China has inflicted immense harm on the American economy either through currency manipulation or intellectual property rights violations whatever there's a litany of things China is a bad dude they're a bad actor there a bad player and the fact that the folks in Hong Kong continue to protest and continue to fight in could you have violence in many cases and acted on them for liberty and freedom to break free of the oppressive Chinese regime there is no question all of us should go get we still in Hong Kong now I'm not saying military intervention I'm not saying anything of that sort but in terms of who you well yeah we should want to people who stand for liberty and freedom who hole I could the U. S. who want to be friends with us we stand with those people nothing controversial about that at all online as you've got billions of dollars at stake when the N. B. A. dulls through its relationship with China the NBA has literally over over a course of time billions of dollars at stake because of the money that China represents to them through having games played over there do merchandising through television and China I code bill of you know words over there in China easy we get this thing over it's called freedom of speech and you can tell Intel the American government to **** off all you want in fact NBA really encourages that you know they awoke people over there in the NBA really educated top flight people they know what's going on you know like lebron James number he was wearing the bait hat in the takers lecture and they got dudes like a great pop of it use the coach of the San Antonio Spurs any at Steve Kerr gonna hear from him in just a second coach for the for the Golden State Warriors they're really woke when it comes to Tromp in the social issues in American their their whole only willing to speak out yeah you can't can't do that over there in China because they they do things like chop the hands off and stuff like that so so NBA's got a got a problem see the problem is NBA courage is the won't guys to speak our right you know lebron pop of the Steve Kerr when it comes to repent on trump for the Republicans or whatever else but now they get this do Daryl Morey who says basically what every American should think regardless of political party which is we stand with people who are at liberty and freedom the new gatt China that accounts for billions of dollars and China has already said we can't up your hands on but we can cancel your pre season games V. from being aired on Chinese state television which is what has happened so what do you do if you're the NBA well there was a time in this country where it was country first there was a time were being an American and standing for something meant something and that meant we would tell China okay fine you don't want our product is our backs and were big enough for the National Basketball Association there are more important things than money or or not anymore my friends because not only is the NBA refusing to say that and by the way this is only going into one of two ways because again China eighteen ****

"national basketball association" Discussed on WMAL 630AM

"Thank you in an update to another story out there the National Basketball Association says on its official Chinese social media account but it was extremely disappointed by Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey raise inappropriate tweet about Hong Kong which severely hurt the feelings of Chinese fans those are quotes the NBA is Chinese language post Monday on the Twitter like blogging platform was labeled a statement originally published in English from the association's chief communications officer Mike bass but the language in China differs from what was used by bass and promoted in the United States masses original statement does not call is it is it more your mores remarks inappropriate or mention hurt feelings by a phrase commonly used by Chinese authorities to describe perceived gaps by foreign parties in English bash said it was regrettable that the general managers view was deeply offended many in a China his tweeted he tweeted a now deleted image in support of the ongoing protest in in Hong Kong and it's amazing because this is what happens when sports gets involved in politics yep because now they are being called hypocrites like you can't imagine I let you can imagine what's his name from San Antonio the coach I got mine blank here pop pop not should pop of it yes I mean he can he can just rail against yeah I again stood a trump they can support they can support day Capranica individual players they can suspend think about this an NBA and by the way they were credit they were criticized for their even their English version by Ted Cruz who Leon Kastro you know got on the case of the NBA for your note taking to task the general manager in the English form not even the more radical Chinese language for I was on the Chinese of website one thing that was brought up was excuse me you you canceled or delayed that but you took away the twenty seventeen all star game from North Carolina because they won't allow men to use women's bathrooms in here you're defending China yeah and apologizing and apologizing for what your general manager what is one of the general managers of your team now I will admit it is a shock because what is the most popular what is the most popular NBA franchise in China Houston Rockets why y'all may yeah right and and so yeah it was it was a hard it would be you know it probably a hard hit and they don't like the Chinese government doesn't like it but was he wrong well he's not wrong by our standards our western standards was he wrong no when you could have Ted Cruz in holy on Castro agree on the same thing then you got a little bit of political trouble and and so but this is what happens when sports starts getting involved in politics well that's it you and and once you give them you're not going to get out I mean this is not like a protest situate well actually it is opposed to the situation duration so but it's not like the kneeling that involves players you just now have to back your way out of this or not I again why do that in the first place why get involved at all but when you just don't look at it you say okay let's forget the perspective here dog gone it North Carolina what you won't allow men to use women's restrooms that should one take it away your game we had a general manager support Hong Kong and the oppression they feel from the communist Chinese government dare you yeah this is what we're dealing with with the modern left today and do not I do not think of it any other way the NBA promotes leftist politics yep it's and it doesn't have to be that way I I mean it here's the problem with promoting the politics is that you know if your coach pop you get away with why well because he's got a pretty good record because you're promoting leftist politics well because you're in an area that is fairly blue even though San Antonio as a military town and there are plenty of Republicans in that sound and plenty of us conservatives that are spurs fans I'm not in that town but you get away with it because it's friendly territory and you can matching the spurs were the Buffalo Bills of basketball or even worse I can't say that because the bills right now our foreign one and the cowboys of three into but I mean if it was not I'm glad you picked up on your LX the error of your ways yeah we have rings you don't but it doesn't matter which last time we had a ring milli Vanilli was popular but the whole thing is that you you get away with that because you perform this is what baffled me about the whole capric thing you know it started but well first of all had Capranica been starting at it have you been a top player at the time that he started that what have near no he would not need in fact any significant side he probably would kneel yeah he said yeah he said he would need yeah course that's not gonna happen now but is the side he did sign the Nike and so the whole idea is that if your player if your coach you can get away with a few things but I don't know why you want to get in the thick of it when right now I think every major sport is likely struggling to some extent keep the attention of its fans only because the attention span in our society is waning it's diminishing want to correct you what what I just looked it up lives what's that the the Buffalo Bills have a ring from nineteen sixty four and nineteen sixty five from the American Football League Championship okay for the merger so they do have rings well that's good I was hoping they didn't I could save our championships were pre rang so they did have rings what you're saying is if they did have ring that back then they they okay all right so to get back but I was I was hoping that a knot in the NFL right I was I was hoping that they didn't have rings so I could say right so so I could say we were we were good for them it was so long ago they didn't make brings back then yeah right through our stomach than you think yours was long ago yeah well you know if if farm again we're not one to say we're not the guys that stays shut up and sing but it should be no surprise to the NBA or anybody else when you want to jump into the thick of it just imagine that or you just need to know if there's going to be a storm like we coming your way at some point in today's political world especially but I think the thing with with that with China is kind of unique in that in that sense but it still is jumping into the thick of it you're going to affect your it doesn't matter what issue you jump into you know here's the thing how many different controversies are there in sports in general in any given sport at any given moment about maybe any given team any different player that real late just to the sport stick to those controversies this is what always baffled me about ESPN why do you wanna be CNN there are plenty of controversies in sports that you can focus on all day every day well I don't have those discussions but but I I think that what you have seen is everything is politics now you know it when you when you look at look at all the nightly news shows the nightly entertainment shows they're all political shows now they're not writer not telling political jokes their political shows a a political bent I just I think that that everything has to and by the way it was going in that direction before trump right I think it was solidified for the evening shows once trump was elected but they were headed that way anyway and John store probably help to create that particular genre not right or wrong look it's a private sector you can do whatever you want actually I don't care you and I've said this we have no I have no objection I'd lasting and ice I said this when I didn't watch the NFL for two years and and you know and I said look I'm not angry it's just if they brought other politics into it I wouldn't watch you know that's not why I watch I watch it for I watch entertainment shows to watch your and and I watch entertainment and sports to watch entertainment and sports believe me you when I get enough of politics in what we do for a living right anything that we're having it takes away from from a little brit bid is like cherished it's like I so my thing was not was an angry to anybody and I never said you guys shouldn't do that I said do you know do whatever you want I just you know will move to something else because it's not what it it's a center with ESPN probably a lot of people probably got some protest for most people the vast majority of people that switched off ESPN because they want political then call them or tell them they just said and that's that's my point is that when you know the possible effect right what well you just started your baseline and that is you'll know what's going on with people in the case of ESPN cutting the cord right so there there's you already have the up hill battle of having to fight to keep your subscribers why do you want to go why do you why would you do anything else but fight every single day to bring and and keep an audience I I agree completely you know eight again they can do what they want but shouldn't the goal each and every day right be related to whatever that court is for the NBA obviously it's not allegiance to the game ultimately in ESPN is about people watching and even though I again I believe that they should be able to do what they want in my job is to point out the hypocrisy because think about this doggone it that's it that you're not gonna let men in girls' bathrooms you're not going to allow that north coupled with more pull in the all star game how dare you not allow men Hey we agree with the Charlotte was Charlotte observer right yeah right you young girls need to get used to men's genitals right what's wrong with you remember that editorial was done yeah you need to do that what what dog gone it women you've got to allow men and if they want to be naked you must allow them in your in your restrooms in your showers and if you don't you're a bigot China we're sorry to hurt your feelings yeah China did our general manager her true feelings because you wish to oppress the people of Hong Kong we are so so sorry you know I'm believable evil women that don't want many can learn a lot of you all the time that's what we're dealing with that and it's our job to point out that hypocrisy I don't know if the voices did in any way help with that I'm not sure I haven't measured that will put a team on okay I just but it which we simply point out the hypocrisy of what their mentality is but I do believe that you look at and I think your your seat you know you'll see it when we have stated this that that the left wishes to taint everything with an agenda everything must have agenda they don't want you to have to have and anything that doesn't fit their agenda they want off sorry that's coming to our college campus that's different from our agenda you can't speak yeah we wish to censor you you know you're going to apply this to the impeachment you would think that when you when you wish to impeach a president which is the first step in remover president you would want to make sure that the American public would know that it was fair right right which means okay we're going to allow the other side to do the things that they need to do because our needs to be in the American in in American jurisprudence even when it's political the American public demands a sense of fairness which means the other side gets to to to say something you get to you get witnesses must confront there you know the excuse me the of the the the person who is the accuser Dick the right the the accuser must what is it again if well the anyone who is being accused the accused has a right to the front of their kids they accuse yes exactly thank you very much sorry mind like there for a second doesn't happen too often too often no more often now but and and so the American public wants that right but the left doesn't seem to care about that they've signup are the only thing that's important is our agenda and pushing our gender work ever it is all the time and I wonder if that mindset does affect Democrats right now which is well we don't care you have to eventually learn to accept what we believe everybody must come aboard everybody must be assimilated by the Borg yeah well I mean it won't start eventually you've got to come around the US this is how we roll this is how we will conduct business we don't care about the process we don't care about the rule of law eight.

"There there seems to be a movement for GM's in the National Basketball Association to bring those players in and almost have preferential treatment over the other players what you said this is the best league in the world just look at the major awards in Spain NBA this year okay the defensive player of the year was really go there the NDP was Yanis the rookie of the year was that the kid from Dallas right and then you have the six man on most improved was Siaka he read anything about that right so you're. this league is based on talent Kantor forget that so that wherever the best talent is is where the executives in the NBA is gonna go you tap a stint as an executive you were you work for Jerry Krause you we're on a fast track to be GM in the NBA things changed the bulls went a different direction right why haven't you look to to get into the GM game white wine age I got into this business you know I I just called a bit I don't know what business and right when I when I got done plan I was just curious I was curious of how I was drafted like how did I get here no like when I walked in I saw Gatorade size how do they get here how did a coca Cola sign get there how did these what's going on why do we need commercials you know what why is Ahmad Rashad always interviewing Michael Jordan. it just didn't happen by accident right you know. over I just a quick story so when I when I was playing I I was I was a starting but I was always curious in the playoffs how come we had to have that Gatorade Cup sitting on our table doing the postgame interview and I was fascinated by that like so Jordan and Pippen come up here and Phil Jackson and I would always just standing of ads in their in their someone would always be there to put that Gator a Cup right there and you always see it on television and I thought why is that so important well what it was that important that somebody new water needed it was their job their job right so that's why I became a GM because I wanted to know why that Cup was there and that's why I became an executive is because I wanted to understand all of this like how did this you know why this building called the United center why is that's cost staples center you know why is this call American Airlines arena like I was that guy. and so working with you know the late Jerry Krause is no longer with this in Jerry Reinsdorf and they allowed me to see how kit was drafted how it was evaluated how to restrain it how cute was developed that has to help you all right now right I guess the aging you understand what you into thinking just because you were in that position the position and and then once I understood that I just thought it was a natural fit for me to say god I wish I would have known those things when I was a player I just played like no one ever explain that to me so that's how I became an agent because I was like as the kids were getting younger the experience they were come what was getting was less so than I thought it was only a natural bridge to be able to share my experience to help this kid because that was going to be needed they're gonna have to learn it somewhere and they're not gonna learn it sitting on a bench they're not gonna learning in the G. leak you know that I stay in school long enough to learn it there so there is a gap and that's why we came in ages and that's kind of how it happened it just happened naturally I didn't plan it let's do this let's take a break we'll get an update for the news BJ Armstrong I guess the three time champion with Chicago Bulls now see bridge in the NBA let's talk about what the demands are and what the pressures are the.
