"A report on the job. I interviewed for and i was a smart aleck and like all also pro. Like i don't need to go into these jobs. I didn't have a clue what i was doing that. I haven't a clue now but And i wrote this paper as far as i don't need to do this. I'm gonna play pro golf. Like i don't need to go interview or this and same another one. That was like hinged moments dr. tom timmermann who is my adviser as well which didn't help which probably helped but didn't help at the time is like oh we gotta expiring pro athlete in the group. Little did we know like we were in presence of greatness the whole time and we're just sitting there just trying to get through classen misiones. Could you come to the front and and and like give everyone inside into your aspirations than and why you chose not to do what i ask everyone else in the class to do and and kinda your reasoning behind it a like well. I'm i'm gonna make a decision to play pro golf when i got out of school and You know. I feel like i need to be all in. I don't need to give myself an out. And and which are all kind of the right things to say. He's like right like i'm glad you're thinking about this but so when you graduate college and you're going to go to your first tournament how are you going to pay for the gas to get there and i like. Oh no he just gotcha. I mean just literally cut my legs out from under his entire class. And i felt about this big. It's it was all lighthearted and well intentioned but just the realization of it's like the playing of golf is difficult but also a lot of people get lost in all the intricate details as far as like the who what why win. And how of of what you do you know. When you're technically are a professional golfer He was a he needed me. As much as you possibly need a human in that situation well deserve. I deserve every bit of it But i think at the at the end of the day he sat me down. He's like all right when we do these weeks. I'm going to help you develop a business plan as far as how to turn pro. That's all san. I like sweet. So we basically built this business plan as far as how to go from collegiate golfer to Pj and kind of the transition period many tours at the time is nationwide tour and try to build this plan as far as how to get there and you basically like starting a business like how much money you got raise where you're gonna play operating expenses and kind of situations for basically every kind of contingency you can imagine and the number one mistake i get when a bunch of people reach out to me is as Like i'm going to go play pro golf and i'm asmara's you know. Twenty five thousand lights all right. So you're you're playing is based off of you. Playing well is like well. Yeah i go out there and get a little the money and and and start making a little bit that i can kinda sustain itself well in from financial as far as having ownership of your success up there is great but anyone. That's gone out there and done it like play professional golfers hard enough on. Its own like financial pressure on the backside of it is. Nobody's is making that needs to be so like we basically made my plan off of utter failure and Just making sure that. Like i didn't have to like all the questions were answered. I know that not. Everyone has that same opportunity. But i was incredibly fortunate to first of all have him take the time and effort to help me develop that but also to be able to sit down with some people in knoxville where i grew up and kind of helped push me in the right direction and go to good base to be able to go out there and play not stress free but to know that like i was going to able to give it like a fair shake to go out there and kinda see what it was like kind of build up from there right you know. I think it's unfortunate. A lot of announcers talk about how much putt was worth. The nate lashley thing at pebble. Talk about like Missing those putts coming down the stretch. Whatever and i really do everybody. I've talked to that has toured. The check doesn't isn't what they're out there for that mean. They're out there for the win. They because they want to compete. And the checks just part of it all right. I mean. I definitely thought about that after the fact that i have made birdie that was this or you make a bogey and you think about that but you take into account man. I hit two hundred sixty seventy shots a week main event. But you're gotta go with the fresh of. I totally understand what you're saying but in in fourteen years as a pro like i've definitely oh man the ones that kinda keep you awake for a minute but but you're exactly right like i'm not out there thinking. Oh well if i just. If i don't go for it maybe that's worth this. I go for then. It's work that like you don't necessarily mean that's gambling not necessarily like a just putting yourself in that situation and try to be in the hunt coming down the stretch on the back down on sunday and then there's no they're like liked in the world and as a professional golfer. that's what we strive for. Yeah and you know it's interesting that you know your your administrative administrator helps you with that plan and you went you. Turn pro ino- eight correct and then you and then you took off and then had a couple of years around the minis and then went onto your pga tour status in two thousand eleven. Two thousand ten you know. She had a couple of years playing around those smaller circus. Before you got the you punish the ticket to full time status. What was what was that journey. Like in in trying to get your fulltime card. It's a lot different than now. I mean at. When i came out was kinda like heyday. Like the mini tour is a main ted potter. Made like over three hundred thousand on the hooters tour guys making over two hundred thousand dollars on the evolve and tarheel tour and then gateway was doing great. Florida had a winner series and it was just as far as financially there was significantly more opportunities than there are now as far as guys chasing mondays and trying to build some kind of status because there was the the business of mini tour. If you wanna take a look at it and that's changed a lot. I remember doing my first interview. Some junior golfers in guys go from college to professional estimate. That same question was like is like well. I never one on a mini tour. And you know. I was able to make a decent living as far as payback investors in this one. And they're like what is that look like. I mean the winning check on the. Here's stores thirty five grand like have you told a major player that now they'd be like in. What world is that. Like our in america that tarheel tour had or the eagle to her at the time had four events where First placements fifty grand like you. Just hear that kind of stuff as the you. What professional golf looks like now. She's a lot different landscapes so there was a lot of opportunities to play I'll tell everyone like jason. Mondays trying to spy status and everything is great in a very admirable goal but at the end of the day like you play professional golf tournament golf in putting yourself in that situation. Teeing it up writing your name on the car thin. You know playing for a check planning proper to win. Tournaments is kind of check yourself in figure out things you need to get better learning how to deal with pressure learning how to manage schedule and kinda in that and you know play one round tournament golf. Your white has its or qualifying golf to try to get in. Has its place in. Everyone's schedule like it can't end all be all just because at the end of the day i think you've got to put yourself in there and know how played four days and know how to kind of manage the everything that goes with..

"Oh, there's the same guy found him Single. You asked me about Nate Lashley slamming his putter in the green. Dude had a terrible attitude. Coach. Did you see the young Nate Lashley was tied for the lead on the 16th Hold till beach four put from 13. Ft. It was was entertaining to say the least. Well, what it is probably just remind you, you know what I mean is the Devil's own game is my dad used to call it all the tunnel samples own game is hard. Guy was 13 ft, away from a birdie putt going to give him the lead at the Pebble Beach misses the putt through 4 ft. Past little too long to get a little too much meat on the bone there. As a four footer coming back for par to stay tied. Mrs. It? Yeah, I now he's got a three footer for bogey. Mrs. That poor bastard, you know, makes a makes a 44 parts from 13. Ft. Actually, I'm sorry. The first part was for a par, so we wound up being because he had missed the green. I want to be in a triple bogey seven. But by what he wants a screaming F bombs Sloan other and Yeah, you know, I have to imagine putting has got to be the tough but that maybe I could easily be wrong, I guess but like I would think putting, but he's got to be the hardest part of the whole thing. Just standing there. Everybody is looking now I got the green. It's like slanted in all this. It's like screw this. I'm missing the shot. I'll tell you right now. I'm already nervous. I'm missing. I'm gonna miss this putt Copes. That would be what you think. Uh, It's It's like, I don't know. Like it definitely changes your score the most, you know. I mean, like you got Willard watching. You know what? It don't miss. This one marked on hooking. Don't don't be like Lashley. Yeah, Nervous teen, often in front of a gallery. I think that would be much more than I don't know how I make contact two different times. I had to make too much I I almost saw white through my like, almost white it out or blacked out. I'm telling you, I can't twice once when, when edge would let me play in the pro am and they said that you're starting on the 17th hole with Marcus Allen. You believe this great ding or probably feel wide everything great scene. It happened. And 17 is the only hole out there in Edgewood that has people had I want to say 500. That's way too many people, dude, because it was not even the week on the weekend. They get thousands because you're expected to do well. Now you're out here with more talent shows up 200 yard, par three and narrow part three along the lake. It's the one that gets on TV all the time. But, you know, I believe correct. You did that. No idea how it happened, but absolutely stripes. In fact, later on the green rolled off the back of the green. But I was you know, it was beyond in play was actually a really good shot Markets, saying You must have felt so good markets just like them. I shot was in and then the other one was when the Steve John help me hook me up a pebble on the Wednesday before the program, and he's like VJs playing with him like this is not because well, then if you don't want to play with him go now. Go now. And so I tried to stick my pick in the ground. I hear this guy. Go hold up, Hold up, Hold up, and it was VJs catty B. J Singler is okay if I play with you And I was like, and I don't know how. I swear I don't know how I made contact on that one. You know what? You shot that Nothing terrible. Just asking. 10 million. I mean, The day was playing like six balls. He was was a practice round. So I was like there were times I just kind of stopped playing a whole because he was practicing so still just having him there. I'd be peeing in my pants without question on the first hole after the first hole, you know he could. He was doing his own thing. But it was just the first swing on that. But first got the whole red coats. He's carrying the whole rep See Polly. I'm not. I have no rep. I'm not a good player. But what I'm saying is, if you really played poorly, VJ would have walked away thinking like I'll tell you one thing. All I know is the question. KNBR can't play golf guy. The guy who worked in the must suck, too. And forget about Northern California as a whole because of how poorly this guy just played some weight on your shoulders. That's my point. That's life will never been able to figure out how to play the game. I'm trying. We'll figure it out today. But close the beauty is there's always hope today like today's the day tell you until the second or third year is far away, trying to start stuffed with me And you, Polly Right. There's more if I can't get over this Aunt Polly's podcast that any of the guys were all over you. I don't think that's why I have no idea what he's talking about. Even if that's true, I really don't saying you were so pissed off about the Super Bowl, he says, Man, they would not stop grilling you. Okay. I mean, I don't know. I mean, if that's if he says so. But I wouldn't take. I wouldn't worry about it. Come on. You gotta have a beef for the radio. And what was their beef with Rome? 02. How did the Roma? What is that part of our beef to know We have no beef. Think I just made a joke about AIDS? Giving away bad? Sure. Z's forget it. Okay. I thought that was part of the dispute We had to. I didn't understand. I didn't think so. It was e was going through the text to get to the one. Gotcha. Okay. Were you gonna say copes about the feud was I would probably put it more on on a creative Tony coming at you, then probably back cause I would imagine he was all over Tom Brady. And so I'd imagine that was that was a creative Tony thing. It could have been. What you guys you guys see, I believe it. I believe that. You know what, though, for await, you know, I got that I got that alligator skin, baby. He could keep coming out. Tony's got that baby deer skin. Hey, did you guys see that? Trump drunk Tom Brady on SNL Saturday night. I did I did fairly amusing. Jesus. Funny, dude. I like that. God is that Beck Bennett? Is that here It is. Yes, I confuse Beck, Bennett and Alex Moffitt. And in Mikey Day, there's a white blend into one, but, yeah, I think the backpack part of the guy who talks like this kind of right back back. Wait, Who's part? Now? Why do I have been in Parnell in my Chris Kelly from cats from a previous cast. Now I'm digging up Parnell from the past, but you're right. The, uh, that wasn't pretty funny Skit like drunk Tom Brady to see Yuko. It might be worth it for the cooler constancy this weekend. I didn't watch it some background that they brought out on the news update. They brought out drunk. Tom Brady got a two for one another trophy. Everybody would like me. Don't you don't like me..

"But I think in this case counting their made that decision because jasmine there, the controlling owner lets him make those decisions and a decision like that. Usually, he leaves it up to the head coach in the general manager at the Nixon stereo and David Cully, But in this case, I think the whole family agreed. That's what judge it wants. We're going to do it. John McClane joining me on the program, right, John? So we shift our attention from JJ Watt to do, Shawn Watson. It feels like we're at the stage now, John, we're just once a week. We get the update that both sides seem to be dug into their side of this whole thing. Let's start with the Texan side. On all this. The Texans have stated publicly and privately they have no intention of trading to Shawn Watson. Are they dug in beyond the draft? Do you think what's your sense on? How dug in the Texans are on this now? They say they're not trying to give you so you're not riding in that major, not driving up. And I wrote the thing today about what if, right before the draft. A team gives them a godfather like offer And could they refuse it? But if they don't trade it by the draft and this I think we'll go into next season and they're gonna They only have one quarterback under contract aside once and then 41 year old Josh McCown, so they're gonna have to get Quarterback. Whether it's a J. McCarron are one of the men to veterans out there who are former starters who will take back up money knowing that whoever you sign there's a good chance he's gonna be your starting quarterback in regular season. And one thing I believe, and we've talked about this. On our show in sports radio, 16 and years done at some point Naked stereo and David Cully and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly, quarterback coach. A panel to need to meet with Agent David Most gathered Watson sit across the table here from lots and directly why he wants out and then they have been explained their vision for turning this team around, and I believe Charge. Just my opinion if they walked away from that meeting, convinced watching was willing to go into the regular season and play the minimal number of games to be able to get credit. That season, then so next year is 35 million base salary takes the fact. Then I would seriously consider trading him because if they don't And they traded next year. They're not gonna get anywhere near what they would get for him. April 29th the first day of the draft, but you know they've not given any indication they have not. Call anybody that's not fielded calls. Others say Thanks No, thanks. And But as time goes on, it's good to me. Why would you want a guy? Who is explained to you exactly why so miserable and his listen to your plan, and he still wants out Then to me, I wouldn't want to got play and that's like that. The Rockets have kept James Harden all season. I don't see watch and pulling the hardened showing up late, not playing hard blasting his teammates. I don't see that. And but until they make we're not gonna there's not gonna be another step in this process. When you think they meet John, just what's your gut? Tell you Maybe never, you know, so far is not responding to Dan. Usually when the players holding out he's a free agent, his teams trying to get him back with an offer. They don't tell them do not Have contact with anybody, because usually that kind of done strengthen your resolve, and but some point the way to solve any problem or try to solve it. Is one or one communication. That's why, Yeah, they have to meet no matter where that meeting is so both sides could speak directly to each other. And if that happens, then you make the next move. Then you take another Step toward a possible resolution whether it's a trader are set for the season. There are a lot of teams thirsty for dish on Watson as their quarterback. No doubt about that. John McClane. You get him on Twitter at McLean Underscore on underscore NFL Absolutely. We have monkey data supporting the vaccine. So we were very happy when we announced that we're developing a skin test that will measure Thi Sep Community to Cove. It And we think that this is important because they're two arms of the immune system and bodies and t cells and bodies or transient. They can be measured for maybe three or six months, but T cells last for years or decades. So we think it will be very important to figure out how many people have T cell immunity instead of just the antibody test. How long do you think that will stick her? I mean, how long do you think we will have to know this? I mean, I'm thinking about this in the context of Right us being on the other side of this pandemic at some point, But how many more years do you envision us actually needing to get tested for immunity? Well, Unfortunately, I think that coded is here to stay. I think it's the majority opinion of people that of experts that Cove it will become endemic after and I just wanna make sure I understand this here to stay. We only eradicated 11 thing, and that is smallpox in Around the world. A smallpox. We were very fortunate was eradicated because it was extremely deadly 30% of infected people died, but part of the success of smallpox eradication with the vaccine was used. And the other part of the success with smallpox vaccination was that there were no animal reservoirs and by animal reservoirs. I mean that no other nonhuman animals got infected with it. With covert. We already know that's not the case. Minx, hamsters, tigers a variety of different animals get so it's very unfortunately unlikely that this might be eradicated. So I think that the solution long term will be childhood immunization. In the same way that we immunized for MMR, measles, mumps and rubella. We probably will go to a system of immunizing Children. And that's why we think of vaccine. Like ours alive. Replicating vaccine, which can provide years and decades of protection is the best solution for that post pandemic covert problem, But it wouldn't be instant because a lot of our own vaccine is for you know In the case of smallpox. It was administered to Children about five years old or so but not not for infants. But yes, I think that that would be the plan. They clearly first we have to get out of the pandemic. And for this, I think we're all extremely grateful to the people who have quickly developed these vaccines, the Evelyn a vaccines, and maybe now these add new values vaccines. They definitely have a incredibly important role and I can't wait to get mine. So you know, First we have to put out this fire and then we can go to more durable solutions. So it and forgive me. I just want to go back to cause I know and just reading in before you were coming on, And I know you are working on the vaccine. But what about this skin test? Because it does seem like investors are very enthusiastic. Are they wrong to be so enthusiastic about that not focus on the vaccine instead. The skin test is very important. I was mentioning the vaccine because he tells it a little bit of the story about how we got to the skin test. But the skin test is very important because we really don't know how many people have immunity and we can't measure it. So there many cases, for example, where there's a husband or wife and one of the spouses gets infected, the other cares for them. But for example, the caregiver frequently doesn't get sick doesn't develop antibodies, etcetera. We believe that a number of these cases actually t cell immunity develops without antibodies. There. It's now known by much more complicated laboratory techniques. The T cell immunity is protective. Developing serious disease. So we just think this skin test is important. And we think the excitement is justified because we would really get a better handle on how much T cell immunity is in the population. We're gonna be in human trials with both of them. We believe this year. But I think in terms of, you know, getting out beyond trials, hopefully 2022 2022 Tim's kind of say it feels like a long time away at least right now, And it is the also reminder that we're gonna ultimately need multiple vaccines to get ahead of all of this. That was Tonics Pharmaceuticals co founder CEO and chairman Dr Seth Letterman coming up. Also in the news this week, Bitcoin Bitcoin Corner.
