"Is there of course, another group of standouts were inducted into the Canadian motorsport hall of fame in Toronto. And here are a couple more for you between them they have won the NASCAR candidates championship. Half a dozen times at six in case, you come from a strange place considered to the pest short-track late model stock car races in the nation. That part is certainly sincere and true more than deserving to be included in the Canadian motorsport hall of fame. Scott's Declan DJ Kennington on race line radio. Scott's decling when you started this while squirt, did you have any idea that one day you'd wind up in the Canadian Motors for hall of fame? It's a silly question. But you're not doing your job. If you don't ask. That question you've got to be pretty pleased and pretty proud. Yes. I'm definitely pleased and proud when I started twenty six years ago. I, you know, I don't think I even knew there was a Canadian motorsports hall of fame. I didn't not have been. I didn't know how point systems worked in racing or anything. We just built the car went to fund, and we found out, you know, you had to go back every week for the points. And no I never ever dreamt of of being in the Canadian motorsports famous for championships. What was the everybody asked you that? What was the secret to click in a muff? One is hard enough to get more than one into get as many as you have is not an easy deal. No. It's definitely not easy. It's it's all teamwork. And I had a great team behind me for for years. You know, it was great. I felt we could even want some more if we would've continued, but I definitely can't complain vote. My career it was a pretty amazing. Was it the right time to get out of the seat in and just be a team owner and work the sport from that end was at time. I I definitely think another couple years would have been, you know, the main goal, but just the way ahead everything structured with twenty two racing in the business end of it. There was no way. I could do it on a on a very limited budget. So in that aspect, it was time to get over the seat and just run it more as business as far as driving. I feel. I was you know, just everybody was gelling, and we were just getting really really good, and we definitely could've want some more four time NASCAR series or NASCAR Canada series champion Scott steadily up. I often wonder when you're driving, but you've also got a business interest in it. And you're also looking at it from the business end and the administrative end on how that doesn't distract you from what? What you're doing behind the wheel you see this happening? So many times drivers have other teams and are working on it from a business aspect that never seemed to be a problem for you. I mean for championships you were able to once you got the helmet on and the and the belts tight that stuff. Didn't distract you Scott. And that's kinda unique. Yeah. One one like you said once I got driving the car. I was fine. It was just leading up to the race with people coming from all different directions. Because of eight or whatever, but it did get harder and harder. So that's why I made the business decision to step away from driving. When I didn't have the good financial support. There's got to be a couple of times, though, is your team owner watching them around going around going, man. I wish I could if I could just get in there. I know exactly what he's talking about. Right. Yeah. There's so many times I just wish I could get in the car, and when you know, the driver's saying the car's doing this or doing that and just feel it once, and I just wish I could get in, you know, in and see what it's doing, but we have to leave it up to the drivers. And and we do the best. We can we had a great season. We won four races..

"In this case, the veteran happens to be you Alyssa consultant. How difficult is going to be bringing to new guys into the series at the same time who relatively have very little IndyCar on track experience. Really. I'm looking at two of the brightest stars and and in raising come along for a long time. And so you know, working with them at the Noma within when Colton Renan hurts, Portland has pot of Iran his per cent that moment and you know kit, they're smart. They're there. Great reiver's they go out there and they used their heads and and that ninety percent of it right there. And so you know, as the season along, you know, AVI AVI the same thing that that I've done in the past with his try to share my variance and the situation come up at at the the event and and and just try to try to help them out as much as I can during that on. So you know, I think that's about it. I mean, they're just straight towns in great more George. Could you expound expand on a little bit force having to Joan drivers who rookie from the theories, not something that you really see having, obviously having Al Allender junior there to to coach them is very assuring for two to kids under twenty to learn how to have presented. On and off the tracks. So so having our on board and having experience with with the young guys will it'll certain for for great, great heating moments from now Caulton this past week you worked with Allen or junior. He was very excited when Pado got into the fast six at cinema, high fives and everything. Any particular anecdote or anything that he told you specifically that you carried into the race that you can share with us? Maybe. From from the from that. Fuck with me, kinda first person protests. He told me it's still that the race card is nothing to be afraid of in really call me quite a bit helping to feed see the and. Like you said, it's just another race cars a little bit quicker and a little bit more downpours. But yeah, with with those words and helped me a little bit quicker and we'll be able to work without. He's he's living in a well respected, and I feel very honored Pado for me. I'm kind of on the same boat at alternate. He told me tainting than it systems other race, car thing. You know what we're moving to that. It's it's easy for us to kind of jar selves and feel a little over mom. Whenever everything is the hundred from back with more seem telling me that it did, you know, calm down. And then when you track it, you're, you know you're driving something different. It's this at your learning and you raid car, obviously, way better into way more smooth than anything I've ever driven, but you're still racing other thing. Are you still racing other people going? Very sad, but I think that one of the things that we talk with me and helping heavy through the tests and then carried onto the rate weekend because Michael Andretti course, you race against for many years field of the Indy lights team for Pado and Colton. Will there be any kind of continuing partnership or association with Michael at all with a new IndyCar team. Got off with with Michael team helps run our second car and Harding rates sonoma's yet with auto, it was fantastic without his health and his involvement. We wouldn't have been able to get it done and, and so you know, Mike party and Mike Lynn gradients have corn a good friendship. And, and of course, with George said, the principal says you so, you know, we're, we're right now. We're at a play for entering Nazis and says, a lot of work to be done. And so as far as the end ready involvement in the future, that the that the little unknown fine. And so so you know, in Oregon and and just fry the as competitive as we can at Saint Pete of the over little owl, George, Michael Steinbrenner of and patches the dog. Colton, her. Pado word..

"A part of the sport for an awful long time. It's been a long time since you've been on the show, welcome back. You've seen a lot of things happen over the years. How excited are you to be part of this announcement and see how much momentum this has in and what it does for IndyCar to have a very solid new team on the grid next year. Thank everybody for face today. On on the great announcement. I just super cited about this. This whole thing. I had a blessed and fourteen it to to the part of the team. And you know, I hadn't. I haven't seen it announced that I made in IndyCar racing for decades. This is of the the names that are involved here. Super, super big, and and what it's gonna do. The car is vague at the same time. So you know, I'm just thrilled to death, you know, with with the time Brenner hearty rates and seen this is I, I feel lucky to be a part of it. And you know, with with Brian Barnhart running a running, the same presents the future super bright with young hip there that are so counted with hot, oh, and Colton. And I think they feel that last week in the at the Mona and so were we're ready to go into off season and certainly working hard in preparing for for the twenty ninth season of defendant. George, Michael Steinbrenner obviously have been IndyCar fan for an awful long time when you came into lights as an owner a couple years ago, you stated then the. Eventual goal was to become an IndyCar team owner, and now you realize that dream. Feel pretty tackler realize that drain wanna thank Michael Andrey for partnering with me. Light series lock two years on Mike Harding, and Harding racing for for for taking in partnership with and we're really added with with Colton and in popular going forward to of the death young drivers on the continent who were recited, see what we can do and looking forward to to take notes guys in Indian carpet, showing what we do Patricio award pothole for short Indy lights. Champ a couple of years ago, you make a spectacular debut at the Indy-Car sonoma's closer and now you're fully set for twenty nineteen the full-time gig. This has got to feel pretty good to you are going be more excited. We have to do with in a probably Mike Jedi team and internal with great. I'm really thinking that he's heavy and Harding. He gave me and on twenty nine to take, you know, so long because it's, I think, but I couldn't be more excited. I think that the team has a lot of behind. I'm gonna be working really hard to to live with a result and and I think we have a really, really cool stuff going for though. I'm really thankful for eighty and then yell at Beijing, nineteen. Colton hurt, finished runner up in Indy lights points this season. You make an excellent debut at cinema as well even to work closely with Mr. Steinbrenner the last couple of years maybe talk about the way you can see what he's going to bring to the series as a coach team owner for next year. Yeah. I mean, I worked with for a long time known him for a long time. You could find mine and, and now he's off so he I can't be marketed for for him to joining Whitney into IndyCar series. No, we kind of thing. I came back from the to go into. Motorsports within, and he. Women. And yeah, he's gonna bring the the winning side Brenner name with in. He's gonna bring dynasty that goes long, say auto racing, try out there and win compete for five and five hundred zero sale. This one for little Alan and Mr. Steinbrenner rarely do we see two newcomers joined the series. Usually there's a veteran driver to help them on track..

"He's back with us to wrap up a two thousand eighteen NASCAR candidate campaign here is Mr. Todd Lewis on race, line radio, how would you sum up the year? We're going to detail the fact we're going to go into the last race issue Kasa with very tight points flight going, and that's almost ideal. But how you've seen this series from close up for so long. How would you sum up the twenty eight team campaign. It's been really interesting and fun for a couple of reasons because the championship battle so so crate rhyming down to it right at the last minute and only a few points separating the top couple of contenders, are we going to have a new winner? Are we going to have repeat winner? I really liked this year because of the intense competition at races. A number of them that come to mind. Twelve year was unbelievably competitive and CDN people, races there were were terrific. Plus the the battles on August. I really love that. We got a few first time winners this year wins a race in the series for the first time. Marc-antoine Cameron who's been close a few times. He comes up with the victory. We've had surprises and victory. So that's, that's been the great art about it and seeing that kind of joy come up this season TSN's. Todd Lewis is with us on race line, radio, recapping, the almost completed, and it will be when the time we run the interview, but we can work around that the NASCAR candidate or the NASCAR pinch series, we go into. To the final race as you say. So tightly packed in terms of points, it's, you know, we, we talk about f. one with our affiliates every week and they say it could go down to the last race of the year for this series. It certainly is going to isn't it. Well in, I've just been going over numbers as a matter of fact, and it could conceivably wind up a tie in terms of points, which is really interesting because then you come down to tiebreakers well, who's won the most races it, Alex Tagliavini wins the last race that would be three for him and would need three for for LP Dumoulin. I just I, I love that kind of close competition where you're literally down to how many laps were lead and who's been that close and it's wonderful to see the intensity going for victory every weekend as well. So it's terrific to see this. Are you maybe intimating that this final battle for the points may get a little rugged. I mean, these guys have never bumped into each other rubbed each other. Have they done. No. Exactly. The intensity has been present at at every race this season from from all all throughout the field that everybody has been gunning for every position because you know, it could come down to a point or two in the final battle and not just for the top spot, but for for third or fourth, fifth, sixth, and and trying to compete all the way through the time top ten because every point you get means you move up spot. You get a little more prize money in the end of the Todd Lewis on race line radio, you just ran New Hampshire. I run for the series in the United States upside of candidate really good experiment. Your your thoughts running New Hampshire ten out of ten in terms of an event people. There were sensational, welcome to pin t series, open arms, nice crowd terrific response to to the racing that we had on track. It was fun for the guys to run a of a one mile oval other their biggest old that they've ever run. Everybody would be thrilled to come back. And I think they're really trying to build something with with all of those Therese series as well, the canon and the wheel and series that were part of that triple header last week. It was. It was a really fun of him. Look like a phone event to in the experiment may run in new some good things. As a result, if there's one even want to call it a negative, maybe the car count can be healthier..
