Prescott injury was a bone pop up. That does alex smith. Alex smith horrible. Joe fis men can remember all of them. Napoleon mccallum am that one is the basketball player in college. He was in louisville. Yes oh my goodness. I that one. You could see the bone kevin ware. That would've was anyways. So my friend karen cassidy and what was funny. She had to introduce herself to like this woman and her teenage. Yeah i guess. Kids edge goes on my name's karen and of course the teen years all. It's a karen. Oh no way. i'm a nice. Karen is boomer and your friends were to carry right. And it's a tough karen. I might add so for sure. So yeah i heard the story. Yesterday i could. I could not believe it would be just the worst in that spot. I would just be absolutely terrible. I would be screaming. Just be screaming. Yeah it'd be like. I'd be like nancy. Kerrigan would be like why why that's right before the summer. Life is so unfair. Yeah that's why. I was always afraid of it. The sole rupture my achilles right in the middle of summer. Then you pulled the hamstring jammed up See i would say the giancarlo stanton of the south balls basically as without the production. Did anybody have the quad. By the way did we make the best mentioned let this year. We didn't do it this year. We were positive vibes only on that and we decided not to make the bed and look for Pulled by the way you see you've got to last night for the yankees. And do i know here we come. I always berry comes really. I mean you can. Yeah listen. I am not giving up that kid. Neither the yankees clearly. You know what they see. What i see what i see and i know he got he got off. The bed are coming up here. He was great in troy when he finally came back. But what i see is that when he's in a box i see like violent hitter I can't explain on any other way than that. Like he's in there to rip away at all times even though he doesn't swing at pitches and he's gotten off to a slow start but seeing him swing and hit the ball. Yesterday that was good. That was good for the yankees. We forget because of everything that's gone on since that twenty nineteen season. How good he was. I mean he finished second in the rookie of the year. To show a probably should've won because he played more games. Fewer just obsessed with otani at that point and then we. I mean we never saw him again. I mean missed. The entire season is basically gone disappeared a rumor but he was great. I mean he carried that team offensively. It was their most consistent hitter that entire year. And how about the fact. And i totally forgot about this last night during the game. They're talking about how the mets acquired cameron may been from the cubs. Yeah for a dollar. That's right yeah carry said. It doesn't reflect. Who cameron may is a player. It reflects more the cubs willingness to give cameron. Maybe a chance to get back up into the majors..

"Bike. Okay and she unfortunately fell off the bike the it hits them santa some dirt or something and it slipped out from underneath her and it fell on her and she had a compound fracture of her lower left leg bones. Break right right exactly snap. So these are friends of mine that live in cincinnati and they have the same know orthopedic doctor friend of mine. Dr robert height. Who also is the doctor. When i was with the bengals and when tim krumrie snapped his leg in the super bowl. And that's what her leg looked like. It was snapped. You remember the when. Tim krumrie broke his leg flapping in the wind. That's how bad it was. And i always tell you the story. He stayed at the stadium and told the game was finally over because he didn't want to leave the team. You know when you have our compound fracture like that. You immediately have to set it because swelling set in and it's going to basically make it very difficult surgery if you don't set it if you don't try to set as as quickly as you possibly can. That's why they try to do at the stadium more. It's not an easy thing to goals your. If something like that happens to you so this happens to her on the beach and she knows that she's probably a good half an hour away from an ambulance showing up so there are some people that are helping our see that she's hurt and everything else. She looks down at her legs. She sees that her foot's going the wrong way. God now she's a former nurse okay. And she's on she's unbelievable. She said. I had to tell the person that was helping me and her kids. That look i got. I got a set this i got set this leg. I got to set this foot. And if you can't handle the may not want to look at this wall. She's she's sitting there and what she does is she takes her leg and she whips it over and tries to get the foot twist and snap back in place and work yes. It did work now. She said she was a former nurse. And i said oh yes i said well i mean you did birth three children as because i'd i ten more children compared to this pain. But could you imagine something that would never even occur to me to snap it back spouse or to try to get it back into place and then how she got it back into place. She's like she's always been a. I've always had great respect for her anyway. But now she's like my new hero. Of course i mean Injuries like that. And i'm not someone who squeamish when it comes to things like seeing blood or whatever but when i see athletes snap the legs and feet going another director of the dak. Prescott was bone pop through and stuff. That does smith alex smith. Horrible joe vitamin yeah. You can remember all of them. Napoleon mccallum nice basketball player in college. He was in louisville right. Yes oh my goodness. I that one. You could see the bone kevin ware. That was that was. Yeah so anyway anyways so my friend karen cassidy was funny. She had to introduce herself till like this woman and her two teenage. Yeah i guess. Kids edge goes on my name's karen of course the teenagers. It's karen no wait a minute. I'm a nice karen. I'm a nice boomer and your friends to carry right s and it's a tough karen. I might add for sure. So yeah i heard the story yesterday. I could not believe it would be just the worst in that spot. Life is so unfair. That's what i'd be doing. Yeah that's why. I was always afraid of it. The salt thing is like what am i. Ruptured achilles right in the middle of sauber. Well you pulled the hamstring jammed up a quad. See i would say the giancarlo stanton of the softballs without the production. Did anybody have the quad. By the way do we make the best let this year. We didn't do it this year. We were positive vibes only on that and we decided not to make the bet and look pulled a quad. The way he's got two hits last night for the yankees in do har- harry calm. I always berry really. I mean you can. Yeah listen. I am not giving up kid. Neither of the yankees. Clearly you know. What did they see what. I see what i see and i know he got. He got off to sort coming up here. He was great and when he finally came back. But what i see is a guy when he's in a box. I see like a violent hitter. i can't explain it any other way than that like he's in there to rip away at all times even though he doesn't swing it all the great pitches and he's got like i said to a slow start but seeing him swing and hit the ball yesterday. That was good. That was good for the yankees so we forget because of everything that's gone on since two thousand nineteen season. How good he was. And then i mean we never saw him again. I mean miss. The entire season is basically gone disappeared a rumor but he was great. I mean he carried that team offensive. He was their most consistent hitter that entire year. And how about the fact. And i totally forgot about this last night during the game talking. About how the mets acquired cameron may been from the cubs. Yeah for a dollar. that's right. Yeah okay kerry said you know. It doesn't reflect who cameron as a player. it reflects more the cubs willingness to give cameron. Maybe been a chance to get back up into the majors. Yeah and the last time he played if you remember. It was two thousand and nineteen with the yankees employed. Well for them. Yeah he was one of those guys one of those guys that came up in contributed when there were so many injuries. Yeah i mean it was. He was another one another one. This time flies like where does it go like. I forgot the camera. Maybe was even on the yankees in two thousand and nineteen here. We are two years later. Know i know well. I think that the pandemic thing sort of changed the whole time structure situation. Yeah like where does the time going was a loss season. Twenty twenty you know even though we talk baseball and we watch baseball and we watch the yankees and the postseason last year against the rays and all of that i mean none of it really felt real. I mean we wanted it to feel real and we tried our best to be immersed in it but now that we have these real seasons again for the most part you look back on the sixty game baseball season. It'd be like what the hell was that while it was was expanded playoffs and trying to make money and trying to keep the. You can't shut down sport. Nine and gary bettman told the nhl on is because look man we may be losing money but we cannot shut down the sport. Sport has got to be played. We gotta figure out how we're gonna play it. And because they have seven teams north of the border and canada for whatever god been on unbeknownst reason continues to keep the stupid border closed. You know they had all stay up there and play each other. Yeah and just like you couldn't have any of this travel across the border and all that other stuff and create a wacky season and the nfl season was probably the the one that felt like the lease normal out of all the nba was mostly normal. Major league. baseball is normal. traveling yeah. Football was normal. Football was normal for the most part. Right i mean. They were traveling. No fans though no no well barely any fans. It was a couple of places that some fans i just. I just feel like the nhl high to play and it created this hybrid season. And you know the one thing i will say. Though they all the player should be in by the looks of it at least in some of these early playoff games. I mean revved up. You know what i mean. They are wrapped up at. I'm in every group of players and it's like you watch one game is really physical and you gotta know that the other teams are probably watching that game. Yeah so then. Their game becomes physical. Absolutely and there's always one underdog team that has the play more physical in order to try to beat the team. They're going against. Who's probably more skilled. Florida in tampa. Yeah like yeah. That's what that series is getting a lot of attention because you know you've got the team that had a great year in florida and of course.

"What can i do to take this young man my wing so in seven or eight or four or two years whenever his career over. And you're looking at a guy who's football career is over. One number four number six and number twelve undrafted and he signed that rookie deal or he signed that contract at that point. He had no plan b. in terms of well. This is what. I want to be doing ten years from now. This is what. I'm going to be doing twenty years from now. And if this guy with preparing as hard as he had prepared to go to the nfl he really didn't have any other time to prepare what he needed to do and terms of what he's going to be forty one needs to be thirty five when he's gonna be thirty two for him. The majority is all about making the nfl. Whether you're black white asian hispanic gay will ever so. I don't hear any of these rich old privilege. White guys sitting there going. Gee i wonder what i do for the young guy coming in. Who has no nothing. His identity is football for him. It's all about football for him. "And i was at that game at candlestick as monday night. Football nineteen eighty-four and odd. Ask about alex. Smith to because the artery was ruptured. What happened was his. Clete was down and ken norton was tackling and it wasn't ken norton's faulty but he twisted his need and go so eruption and artery which is not good pretty horrible mc l. he c l. and also the acl. all shredded. Caf muscle came off the bone. The hamstring came off the bone and he lost his nerves in his leg. I just remember i've never. I've been through some pretty lengthy injury like you know waiting for someone to get taken off the field. And i was in the second deck. I was with my friend. Steve nine season tickets. And i was on the other end way up at candlestick the second deck and i couldn't believe how long i was taken to get this guy off the field and everybody who was Going oh look at the replay. I there's no tv in front of me. I i never saw it. I was there but you couldn't really see it. And i was like oh so ended his career that in his career he never played a game and as i said he played a role in the relocation vegas because he set up a meeting between mark davis and various there as well. Let's go to napoleon mccallum great to have him back on the show. Once again in a polling. I was just talking about what i was at that monday night. Game wearing my raider starter jacket and the second deck at candlestick when you got hurt. Is there any comparison to what alex smith went through and the medical treatment. He received this year. Would it have helped you. Our is it kind of an apples and oranges thing I think it's kind of a an. I dislocated my niece so And i think didn't he he. He broke his leg right right. But the ruptured artery and everything else. Yeah ruptured ira. I severed the nerve. And i'm sure she it's. It's twenty years later so the technology is going to be a whole lot better. I mean i'm just you know blessed to be walking around with both of my legs. Yeah so I'm sure it's a lot better and You know there's going to be You know it's probably going to be an opera opportunity for him to play again. They're so good. No doubt now when you are at navy you were a two time all american. You set all sort of all time. Ncaa records and career all purpose yards one of the greatest players. Ever in the history of navy. And so you look back at your recruiting and syracuse tennessee. Some other teams wanted. But they all wanted you to play the. If i'm not right. Why did they not believe in you as a running back. Well in the in the city of cincinnati i was probably the Was the third leading rusher just in my in the greater cincinnati area so Those guys all went to notre dame michigan and and then i went to navy so I i think i got overlooked at the time. I wasn't as fast as a as a lot of people. I think i had a four eight forty coming out of high school But i was a real good defensive back and defending the pass so but didn't like that position when you a navy or a computer science major and we're about the same age i think about you know basic and pascal and and all that stuff they always say if you're a cs major by the time you graduate everything you learned is obsolete. Was that true for you. Yeah you know what. That's that's how i felt. I just thought that the programming was going in so many different directions. And i just did not feel that was a career that I would do that would be easy to do well in I was real good at it. You know i validated a little. I love my computer classes. And that's what time i as them But i just yeah. I just thought everything was just moving so fast and If you weren't everybody was coming up with program. So why do you need a program anything. So yeah you start up. Pro digital graphics came in handy no doubt yeah but you know what a lot of a lot of raider fans you know. Think that you know you the the decision to move. The team is mark's decision. It's no one else's but what what did he do in setting up was meetings with the mayor or sheldon adelson. What what went on with that sort of as you were kind of a conduit there. Well it all started in a A placid unlv I was doing responsible gaming class. And i talked to the professor Internet national gaming institute and asked him some questions. Because i knew that las vegas wanted football. We did well with the xfl Everybody was just saying you know for las vegas to be a real city. We need a professional football team here. And so I'd always talked to a lot of former football players. That lived in las vegas and ask them why and and basically Our why not. And basically i took all those and present those to the professor and he you know like hey you know what the nfl would do well to be here because of all the The gambling and the the bedding Mont monitoring so I took all that information. Did some research on my own. About where the second largest market next to new york with all deserters that come here and the las vegas and And i took that to mark. And i said hey you know i you know i. I'll have you meet with the professor here And we'll talk about you. Know having the raiders. Come out here. So that's how it all started and told mike company and They were all excited about it. Getting they wanted to get mr adelson involved and So the the las vegas sands got involved in it and you know they. They made it a team effort. Everybody got together and and you know we. We kind of squashed all the myths. Why you couldn't have a team in las vegas and And then i think the projections of the numbers and the support I mean it's easy to get from. La and utah arizona it. It's easy to get here so Yes it all happened when fell through with la I called mark probably about five days after it fell through and he said nap. Your ears must have been burning and that's when it all started okay fair enough. let's Talk about army navy game here. One more question for you and by the way the fans can't go to mike stadium at west point but you can still participate. Just go to social media. Hashtag army navy house once again. Hashtag army navy house. Take a picture in your army or navy gear and to lucky fans. One from each side will a free trip to new york at the game. Twenty twenty one. You played in the army navy game at the rose bowl which i was a senior in high school in that game was played and you guys destroyed army in that game. What are some of your favorite memories of the army navy game. Well i think we got some intel that they were going to try to just gang. Tackle me They were going to specifically kick the ball to me and then everybody was going to jump me and tackle me and so we ran a reverse. And i'm i'm handing it off To eric wallace with about half the half the army football team on me and we go. In for a touchdown i think we just broke their hearts right at the very beginning all right. That's napoleon mccallum. Napoleon enjoy the game and go navy. Go navy very is i'm activity. We'll take a quick break.

Joe miller and i'll be leaving Our area south of annapolis at five thirty saturday morning and we will make the track to west point pending cova test. That i'm taking it about a half hour. Make sure that it's negative We'll be there on saturday to broadcast game and we're looking forward to it. I've as as i was mentioning i've been to philadelphia and behalf of usa and we're going to talk about their army navy house sweepstakes as well in a second. But there's just nothing like it. And i'm kinda born into it. My dad was a naval officer. And i always rooted so hard for navy but in two thousand seventeen. I had the superintendent of west point on on the show radio row. And then after the game i went up to west point and i camp ass- and i i've never been so impressed in my life and it's just one of those things where as much as their enemies just for three hours every year when you think about the naval academy and the united states military academy i mean i. It's a shame these kids aren't playing in an nfl stadium but for the rest of us. I think it's even cooler that they're playing at michie stadium. Yeah there's no question you know mikey. Stadium is one of the great Settings for all the college athletics. I broadcasted a number of army navy. Lacrosse games there and be able to do a football game there while it's not the full forty thousand people plus. That would be at mike if everybody could come in there It's still going to be a great atmosphere for the game. Both institutions both campuses represent so much What the kids do once they get behind the wall. Each campus Is is extraordinary. I mean i was just looking. You know we had Track and field athlete and a women's soccer player who have been named to nasr's artists team. That's that's what that's what people do when they say built different. The student athletes army and navy are are built different. They aspire to do great things so That's that's the thing when we talk about these football players and what they go on to do whether they make The military career or whether they go into the private sector and become Incredible business people. You know roger stall back Is one of the greatest turned out to be one of the greatest business people in the world after his playing career and a lot of what he's done through the years it's been create businesses and hire a lot of veterans And give them a path to employment after serving our country as well so these these kids that people will see on saturday they are going to go onto extrordinary things in something else. Usually besides football and the sky's the limit for all of them by the way peter. I'm glad i'm starting my show at the today with all these guests and that you could correct me that it's mikey stadium. You're not the only one i believe. I've never yeah. I've never Because only army is playing there. So i don't see so yes. Thank you for that. It's not msci as mikey stadium. All right i'm making myself a note here. There's no doubt that. When you see everyone lined up but i remember years ago in philly. I was down on the field while the the midshipmen and cadets we're all lined up and it was i'm sure you remember it was just an absolute blizzard and i have three layers on a huge puffy coat and i couldn't take it anymore. I went back up to the press box. And there they were standing in basically just a thin blazer and maybe a little scarf that to me right there. I don't know how these kids do it. And i thought i hope i hope not to be political but i said i was thinking i hope our future presidents from these people and not you know. Businessmen are lawyers. These are the kind of people i want. Well again when you step on. Campus is of west point and annapolis. The most important thing that you will learn while you're there is leadership I think it's been well documented. Now cameron kinley one of our quarterbacks that navy's state of tennessee paths here. He's either going to be the mayor of memphis. Senator from the state of tennessee or is going to be president. One day maybe all could be could be all Just an extraordinary young man And would not be surprised if his teammate. Mild spells from little rock. Arkansas is his running mate on a ticket. One day because It's just extraordinary what they want to accomplish and what they have done. We had some Things come up during the summer where we had several football players and i had a chance to host this panel where and a very difficult time in our country in terms of relationships with the police in our communities and these young men as incredibly intelligent thought provoking questions of our leaders in law enforcement. And when you listen to that you completely forget that they're football players you're listening to how extraordinary they are as people at a young age. So imagine you know when you're old enough to be president the age of thirty five and beyond What these people are capable of because if you can handle conversations like that which at that time we're incredibly volatile And do it as professionally in as profound as they did That shows you the quality of leadership that they're being taught While on that campus and that marriage is You know the classroom and football You know they work hand in hand together To what these these young men learn about leadership. Yes and i noticed that too with the chain of command in the military. It just doesn't work without the chain of command. And obviously the commander in chief is at the top. And i noticed some of the you know. Cadets and midshipmen kept talking about commitment to defend the constitution the very very savvy about the way they can maybe make a little bit of a personal statement without going over the line. I admire it. Well i think that's the look. I mean the one thing in this country and You know i. I keep politics in sports. Completely separate on my show in dc and the one thing about you know the first amendment is within reason you can you. Can you know sponsor any belief that you want you know. We don't always have to agree on everything. I don't think we ever agree on. What our local politicians do national politicians do And you know for for these young people they're forming those opinions Now of what they want to contribute to life and look. I mean we need more young people like them to take an interest in it so we can get some fresh thoughts In our political forums. Right now. And i think that's one of the things that we desperately need is the mindset of some younger people and some fresh ideas and i think The kids you see. Three pm eastern twelve noon pacific and this contest that you can enter. So let's have here breakdown the contest for us. I'm heidi fangs today. With former navy running back as well as a former raider that lives here in henderson nevada and is just all over the town. He's going to talk to us about the one hundred and twenty first army navy game taking place december twelfth starting at three pm on the east coast noon here on the pacific coast napoleon. Welcome to the show. Thanks for having me cited the be here talk about army navy and this is no polian mccallum again so napoleon. I wanted to talk to you all about this. Because there's a ton of things happening with america's game. Usaa has this tradition. The army navy house sweepstakes that's happening there's ways to enter on army navy house dot com. What can you tell us about this. Well you know what. I go to the website and i'm really curious the curious to see all the pictures of all the army navy people all the navy people who have had great experiences an army and they can post their photos there and the best photos acts away when an opportunity to win a trip to new york for the next army navy game. I'd love to go. I spend a lot of time in new york city. Love new york city. I mean this game is a storied rivalry something that used to be featured on. Its own during this week but due to covid nineteen which you know. Circumstances are always changing. You just never know what's going to happen right now. We are living in a pandemic. So i mean what does it mean. As far as getting more is here to this historic rivalry. Well you know the army navy game. I mean they're the best of the best. These are the guys that have character who are going out on the battle field that we get to see five eight and it will be a battle and later on they're gonna shake hands and then they're going to work together to protect our country and still this rivalry like we said it lives on your and alumni of navy. You're running back there your college hall of famer so tell us just for you. Your personal experiences. What you took away from being on that field and kind of wearing that badge having that name honor behind it with being part of the navy team you know i it's really about the camaraderie We meet We make at the naval academy and You know even last year. I went to the game and even when i was walking around through the stadium. You know a lot of army people you know said hi to me and everything getting me You know about never getting the win against me but it is just a. I'm actually going to have an event here at my house while with a few close friends For the army navy game. And we're gonna watch it outside and Share some beers and Some stories so It it's really about camaraderie and the brotherhood that we have. That's great staff. I mean you had your choice to go to so many different schools. You chose navy because it was a place that allowed you to do the position that you wanted to become a great in. That was running back. This has got to be just fantastic for you to be able to see this thing. Come together oh yeah. it's it's pretty awesome at one. One point tried to actually get navy to come out here to las vegas and play in our las vegas bowl But i think it was during christmas and they didn't want to come so but now that we got this new stadium they might wanna come now. So but no i i love navien and i love the people that it represents. I'm surprised you weren't able to get them there. Because you're very persuasive. And you mentioned that new stadium and you were very implemental in getting that new stadium here to nevada las vegas. What can you tell us about that process and what it means now that you can see it here actually being right in the main kinda throw away on the fifteen. And the having the raiders. Hear your former team is pretty awesome and it was just a win win for everybody and you know we had a great team of people who worked You know behind the scenes to make all this happen and Basically what it was left up to two mark we gave them the option of coming here and once away didn't work out he was he had made up his mind. He's coming to las vegas. And i think he hasn't regretted that decision. It's it's a beautiful stadium. I've been in an around the outside of it. And and just the things that the raiders are doing in our community are pretty awesome in. So i'm really looking forward to A great relationship that the raiders are going to happen. This las vegas community when you look over what the raiders have accomplished in this season. Do you think that they're going to make it down the stretch here and this tight playoff race. I think they are. I mean to come back the way they did Against the jets man. That was incredible. I mean you would think after their next to last drive that all hope was gone. But those guys fought to the bitter end and And made the the big play in. The raiders are known for making big place. What have you made a jon. Gruden being back here as the head. Coach of the raiders. I think it's awesome. He he's a guy with a lot of enthusiasm and any exhibits. That i mean he exudes that to the players and they all wanna play for him. I i remember when they were first bringing jon gruden back in to hear some of the guys Talk about You know how they wanted to come back our retirement and play for him He's just inspirational. He's done amazing job. With derek carr and just the way he thinks on the on the football field now. So i'm really excited. I think they've got an awesome chance To make the playoffs and really looking forward to it with josh jacobs. He's a young stud right now running back though he's been injured and you've seen that struggle that he's had keeping healthy this season but i wanted to ask what you think about him because he said he's learned a lot from marcus allen. Who is somebody that you shared the field with. And your time as raider. And i just wanted to ask what you think about marcus allen mentorship which aus- jacobs can you see it evidence. Yeah i think when. I saw josh I try to dive into the end zone for a touchdown Like us a little weak. And then i had heard that is it was talk until then there was another opportunity for the diamond. And i said oh. That's how that's how marcus dies. And so i had known at. I did not know at the time that marcus was kind of mentoring him. And but it was evident that that he had and so marcus berry intelligence Running back in just quick as a cat and so that's a.

"He's the man that Beacon orthopedics and sports medicine. He's also the Reds medical director, and we turned to him for input on what Joe Burrow. Is dealing with what he will be dealing with. And what the future holds. Always a pleasure to spend a few minutes with Dr Tim Kremchek. Doc. Welcome. How are you? Doing? Well, I could be doing better, but I'm doing all right. Thanks for asking. You guys. All right. Hang in there. Hang in there. Take us take us back to yesterday. And just in the moment. What was your reaction? As you saw, the cameras panned back and and Joe on the ground. Well, when I first saw it, I mean, I watched the whole game and some go back, so his foot planted Then I saw him get hit up popping and somebody roll into him. And first thing I thought was Carson Palmer. As first thing I thought, foot planted on the ground stabilized his knee had nowhere to go. Wasn't going to Flex forward like it normally like to do it since either going to hyper extend or go in, and that's what happened. And it went in a matter of fact, the TV didn't want to show it again because it looked pretty gruesome. And when that happens, obviously, he's tourney is ligament in his knee. Hopefully just the HCL in the M C l but Knowing on seeing that mechanism of injury. They carted him off, appropriately evaluated inappropriately, and now it's time to move on to step 23 and four Yeah, when? When he had that foot planted in the contact, You know, people say I'll see how a C L u population. Well, that's a non contact. Normally, you guys are making the violent cut. They'll just pop. It will be a clean pop. But this one With the contact and with the torque. Like you said, the hyper extension, the bend and all that sort of thing. You got to think. A C L M c l like you're saying, Do you think terrible? Try it. I mean, God forbid the PCL goes and could there be damaged any the patella or the kneecap of the nerves, and that's what you have to check on at this point in time, and then all the collateral damage possibilities. Well, you know what? What happened? What you first think, And you learn about this. When you see football injuries with the foot planet is number one. The most devastating thing that can happen is a dislocated name. And sometimes in the will hyperextended. Okay, pop in the place. We all remember Napoleon McCallum him believe when he hyperextended and dislocated his day and he actually had nerve and vascular damage. And so that's what they were assessing. And certainly you can assess that on the side. I'm sure they're doing tests to assess make sure everything The arteries in the back of the knee, that Papa feel artery and all that is Peyton and good. But when you take an injury and you get that severe of an injury and you need goes in that far, it's definitely the medial collateral ligament and the A C L A lot of times the lateral meniscus. Sometimes there's some slight we call sub Conroe under bone fractures to post your crucial ligament could be involved. So people have to realize that When you have an A C l pair the classic A C L tear was Kijana Carter put down twisted, Hey, walked off the field in Detroit. I remember I watched that too, But, you know it's a non contact, twisting injury. Most of the time. This devastating injury is more traumatic. And more things involved, which then allows it to be a little bit more difficulty. As far as what do you fix when the effects it how far how fast you get it moving? When can you get him out of a brace, functionally doing the things he needs to do to come back? So it's a little more challenging? You know the whole idea here? I mean, pop, not not only a professional athlete, but number one pick franchise quarterback. I mean, a lot of people are gonna have their input into this toe. One needs to be done when it needs to be done, How it needs to be done. So Sometimes that can that can be a little dicey and difficult to deal with us, an organization and again doing this for 25 years at the professional level, you gotta be able to sort that out on the docks for the Bangles have to sort that out. You know, kind of settle on the right thing to do not only for him but for the organization and his future duck from from that standpoint from what? What it might look like today, swelling Emery, what kind of time frame before in a perfect world, A surgery could be done. Well, if you've got a knee that is so swollen and so aggravated. You don't operate on that right away. Because the operation you would add an injury. Aggravation to an already aggravated me which makes rehab a lot more difficult. So you've got to wait for the swelling to go down now again. It it depends on what else is tourney Medial collateral ligament. You know, you don't want to wait too long for you have to go in and fix that. So there are some variables here, but you've got to get that swelling down a little bit of motion to the knee before you going toe that insult of serving Because once you operate on this, the key is to be able to get that motion. As soon as you can. You don't want to stiff me. So again, it's gonna be a little dicey, so that's why the politics and the opinions and everything needs to be doing today. Make it very decisive decision and, you know, let's put the poor Joe Burrow. I mean, this poor guy's been get beat up all year. He's got the way to the organization on his shoulder. He's a tough It seems like a tough guy and a terrific guy. You know, most of these athletes want to know number one. What's wrong? What do I need done and do it. Get it done so I could start looking on the other side of this onto the rehab side of it, and when I can get back, not waiting around for 72 doctors to decide what to do when it had to do it. You have time to make a decision on the process. And really when you look at it you talked about. Don't wait too long on the M Steel because it could shrivel up, right? I mean, you don't want to, just like shrivel up nothing you need If you want to be able to repair something I'm assuming and with with respect to the rehab, that's the big thing, isn't it? I mean, most surgeries go pretty well and then it's up to the rehab. And I feel confident with that. Because Joe borrow is not only of you know, five star Recruit five Star person. He'll be a five star rehab guy. I mean, he'll be dedicated And get after rehab is harder, harder than anybody. But what about he's represented? He's got an agent and the agent probably has a relationship. They have relationships with everybody. So he probably has a relationship with the doctor. And in a rehab person, the Bangles have Doc Galloway and Nick Cause. Great great rehab guy directing rehab Dark Galloway respected surgeon What kind of political tug of war might be going on now between you know CIA who represents job are on the Bangles organization..

Now I think I debilitated him for tomorrow is taking people out because I had to. I mean, like Ken Norton member when Ken Norton was associated, all those plays where he was injuring other people like Napoleon McCallum, Bryant Young. Remember those terrible killer in choosing your Yeah. Norton's body was the one flying around. It was inadvertent. Of course. He got Richard Dent in Kansas City. I saw I saw Richard. He did. He got dead in Kansas City. You got McCallum's got me. Why real bad you too young. Remember McCallum, Napoleon McCallum. He is too young. Come on, Remember room there last night in his defence Torched by Cuyler Murray. Who? Kendall in Simmons. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, That's a guy who went to U. C l A and just and then decided to ally himself with U. S. C. And the Seahawks were done with that. Here is the old okey doke. The move of moves the shenanigans by Shanahan, the Tiana Tiana again. It the Shana Hannigan's the shenanigans. Right? Shanahan, the Shana Hannigan's. I just made that up by way. Okay, because all week long we said, we'll know Rahim. So here comes Jeff McKinnon. How's he looking? How's he looking house? Jermichael Hasty. How's he looking? Although while you don't even worry about it all the while he was planning to unleash Jeff Wilson Junior, as called by our boss, J. C, the pride of Rhode Island. He hey said to us, he told he sent me a text. Don't sleep on the sledgehammer Jeff Wilson. Casey is a very local, like your voice like that. I liked Stacy Voice anyway. Kyle Shanahan on the Okey doke. Move. This shouldn't the Shana Hannigan's on playing Jeff Wilson. Here plan Wass rest gentle little bit. You know how much he's got in last few weeks, so We're gonna go with a C or Jeff depend on their health and Jeff Sheldon practice that It's healthy enough to go. It's got cleared. It produces This'ii do rest. McKinnon. I mean, listen, all due respect, McKinnon, but, you know, it's like I mean, I seriously that's like, you know, Don't don't know Harville coming down, saying, eh, you know, or if you've been working hard, won't you take the last couple days off? You look like you were gonna work We're gonna bring in this young talent wants you right. You know what better yet come into the show and want him working. For Jet MacKinnon. That ain't no it is. It's kind of revealing going to arrest you Polish. It sounds like the kind of rest where you put a blanket blanket you talk about when you get older. Let's come. I'm getting closer and closer. So I got my black Sabbath albums. I'll be fun. Get the blanket on my lap diaper me up and give me my sabbath like all the black Sabbath who I've always been told is the most indestructible. Phenomenal except for one Been healing comes out. Yeah, yeah, and of all time, And yet a listener sent us in after Eddie after David Parties, Eddie Van Halen just away. I'm still recovering from that, By the way, that one really hit me hard. A listener sent us in a billboard from a San Francisco stop where Van Halen was opening for Sabbath. What year? So that's their first album. That's 1978. That's actually very famous, and I've heard a lot and I can't believe Van Halen open for black site because Oh, yeah, yeah, no, they live in and you said yes, common knowledge they were blowing. Then there were blowing Black Sabbath off the stage every single night because you got Van Halen with the greatest debut album in the Three recorded music and they're going out there with an aging black Sabbath was a lot of drug problems on alcohol abuse going on and right after that tour when Hale unlike him, Barry calling it Jeff Wilson Jet McKinnon type of thing here. I mean, they're like Ozzy wants you rest and watch David lead to a split. What did you say? The greatest debut album in the history of recorded music? I mean easily in the conversation. All right, Always out here, dealing me. Well, appetite for destruction by Gene or it's a good one. Boston. They're first ones going. What do you want to be brought to you? These? Well, by the way, one more foot note for you on the Sabbath be inhaling thing. Even today, they were blowing us all to stay here tonight, And it was so bad that at the end of the tour, they either fired Ozzy rise. Ozzy quit depending on who you talk to Yu Think McCain and she give us boy? No. Think so mean? I'm not trying to be standing around trying to just watch what Wilson. Does Anyone here know I need more. Jeff Wilson, man. I know I need more. Jeff Wilson. Hey. So here's the deal. Look at what happened to the Niners after the Dolphin Cay. Remember use chick told us that jerk Waske tar walked into the training room and said to him. Hey, man, this is the week we get the win that turns it around. And I put that on Twitter and all the listeners started pointing and laughing, getting retweeted it immediately said Niners lose by 16. Another one sent me the Retweet with the fake. Okay with the wink. Oh, yeah. Okay. Sure thing. Guess what, last to faint anymore? Nobody. Nobody likes to believe only as ah, Gen. "For the Supreme Court is underway. So far, very, very, very boring. It'll probably pick up a couple of highlights. Fireworks for it's all said and done today and the rest of the week. If I shop and ah dollar General. Oh, yeah. Dollar General Dollar store Charity shook her head. Like why? When I go to them? No, I just me. I don't have a location near me. I don't go out of my way. You don't go anywhere out of your way unless it's near. You don't Tuesday, and now it's all about convenience, okay? Well, there are some people out there who think that they're a little too fancy to shop at the dollar store s $0 General just figured out Wolf on nights for those individuals, Why not sell them the same stuff that they get at the dollar store, but for more money Dollar General just announced they're opening a new line of stores called Pop Shelf. Targeted to the higher end shoppers. Okay. Stuff will sell for about five bucks. Isn't there already One of those What's that place called? It's like under $5 or something. Five something five. I think that's the name of it under $5 or something like that. Yeah, Yeah, I went in there once, and I couldn't find anything at all that I wanted. The first two pop shells are open in Nashville, and they're going to open another 30 around the country by the end of next year. So if you think you're too fancy to shop in a dollar store, what does it say about me? If I shopped at the 99 Cent store, I've got a dollar general, a dollar store and a 99 Cent store within I don't know. Within a mile of each other and just a couple of miles from the house, I go to the 99 Cent store. We're talking earlier. Dex injury Doc Prescott injury. I compiled a list. You might think it's Maccabee might think it's Ah, you know, not necessary, but it is somebody's going to do. They're going to be doing it all day and for the rest of the week anyway, so I figured I'd be first. My top five. I've got Alex Smith of Washington and the injury he got in 2018 to his leg developed an infection almost had to have his leg amputated. Number four is Johnny Knox of the Bears against Seattle in 2011. He don't for a fumble, so did someone else on the Seahawks and hit him and bent his body backwards so far that the top part Just underneath his shoulder blades of his back, bent back and touched his butt. Oh, yeah, Your back's not supposed to do that. I have it. Number three. Napoleon McCallum. Of the Raiders can't member for the Raiders or the Oakland Raiders. At the time. They were Oakland at the time, Hey, was tackled by Can Norton Jr pulled down leg hyperextended. Now the injury itself look bad, but we didn't know how bad till he got to the hospital, and we found out that McCallum suffered extensive nerve damage. Two or three ligaments in the knee. Both his calf and hamstring muscles were ripped from the bone. He also ruptured an artery in the knee, which forced him to undergo emergency surgery nearly lost his leg. And underwent six surgeries and never played football again. Now at number two on my list is what charity and Tim have as number one right on their list. And that was Joe Thighs, Woman. Monday night Football 1985 Redskins Thighs Man hit by Lawrence Taylor suffered one of the most gruesome injuries ever. Washington try to run a fleet flicker giants weren't fooled. Multiple offenders converged Heisman pulled down by Taylor, who fell on two thighs, one's lower right leg. Guys. One's own words were, he recalled his leg snapped like a bread stick and felt nothing below his knee. Compound fracture part of his leg bone was sticking out of his skin. Now this goes 1985. ABC showed multiple replays of that You don't get replace anymore. No. And number one for me. Is Darryl Stingley bad and they hit Patriots receiver in the hit He took from Jack Tatum of the Raiders. That was bad, Okay? All of these injuries we're talking about are bad. And all of them were talked about so far were career ending thighs would never played again. No At least Wiseman can walk. Darryl Stingley never walked again. He was paralyzed. I don't know how it gets any more, You know, forget the gruesomeness. The end result is where it all really matters. I don't think there's too many things worse than not being able to, you know, being paralyzed, but never being able to get out of a wheelchair. And again, there's going to be people comparing these things all week long. Right now, say specialties, acey.

"So disgusted by Rick tittle that I find him very intoxicating. Well well well thank you and welcome back to the show with you. Coast to coast and I'm excited for the draft and I feel bad for people who boycott the NFL if they really truly love it if they don't care they don't care what are the matter. I'm talking about some of my fellow raider fans who have just said screw it. You've moved the team away from me twice. I'm never giving you another dollar and other another second of my time and in a way I am kind of jealous. I wish I could do that. I have a buddy who lifelong raider fan and and He sort of did a any sort of what well-known he did a tweet. That was Jerry Maguire letter saying. This is why I'm done with the raiders forever. And then he texted me. And he's like you to like never and he's like never and then when it was announced that the raiders we're gonNA play last season at eighteen anti park where the giants played now Oracle. He's like surely you're done now. I go first of all you gotta remember. I'm not a San Francisco Hater. Kay I'm an Oakland guy but I don't hate San Francisco like I've spent my entire adult working life and San Francisco. I don't hate it obvious alike Oakland better but it's not like uh San Francisco. I hate it but I say you don't understand it's too late for me. I'm a raider fan for life. Okay I can't change teams. It's not possible for any of my sports. But especially the fricken raiders. The days of Middle Medieval Heraldry are gone. I have no family crest unless you want to go someplace where they go. Here's your crafts and it's just you know coat of arms with your initial in it. There is no family crest. That Raider Shield is my family. Crest on everything I war. There's a picture of me in a sandbox less. We know one thousand nine hundred sixty nine and with my brothers are all wearing raiders stuff. There's a picture of us at the beach. Nine thousand nine hundred seventy and all three of us were on our radar jackets. Appearance will get new. Raider jacket at pennies or sears. Whatever it was for school each year and it was a fake vinyl lettermans jacket in L. And the sleeves would crack and rib and we were in the rain and the wool would get smelly so to say. Oh they're playing in San Francisco. I'm done sorry I can't do it now. Am I happy with them? No my happy with the owner. No but the team is the team and they don't care and will I go to camp in Napa if they let me in come here. I was and this is no badge of honor but the last single broadcast in the history of the Oakland Raiders. Was Me doing that? Post game show by MYSELF AND AT THE END. I said and with that we say goodbye to the Oakland Raiders and I- excoriated Ripped Mark Davis. So hopefully they'll let me into camp and I think they will know once they wanNA fight me at like Al Davis told Scott Osler if I was fifteen years younger I'd kick your ass. No one has said that it's too late for me. And the draft is the most exciting thing and the draft is also so heartbreaking when I used to go to these draft parties that my buddy Steve would throw and he's a niner fan and I'll never understood because they used to be Saturday morning. You know you'd have the first three rounds Saturday morning and then you'd have four five six seven on Sunday and I liked it better that way. I so much prefer that but they wanted to go primetime. They wanted to go Thursday Friday Saturday. The Friday thing is really stupid because Friday TV everyone knows is a death knell. For ratings you don't WanNa have shows on Friday nights but that's okay now but my Stephen these parties and he would drink all this hard liquor and he'd be asleep for the niner picks doing. But it'd be like me and my little brother and my cousin a huge raider fans and we were all so excited that Aaron Rodgers fell into our laps and we took Fabian Washington. And the next team. The packers took Aaron Rodgers. And when there's Michael Crabtree and we took Darius Hayward Bay I mean it goes on and on now every once in a while you get your guy. I went to an actual Raider Draft Party at the Oakland Hilton when they drafted Charles Woodson. I remember I went up to Rob Holmberg Berg and I called him something else and he goes. I'm rob and I'm like Oh sorry. I went to the draft party when they drafted was the lamb backward Michigan State Frederickson The draft party at the call him which we did for ninety five seven and they drafted Khalil. Mack and I was like a pogo stick jumping up and down. I was jumping up and down draft Napoleon McCallum sorry Napoleon Kaufman and by the way there have been three guys. One was a linebacker named a Polian. To play for the raiders. And I find it very interesting especially after last week. I got done reading a book about Napoleon and Russia and I've been to Napoleon's to a couple of time at the ECHO. Militar- is on the lead in Bali and a guy who was basically the one of the biggest tyrants in the history of the world and a guy who started wars out of nothing just because of his lust for conquest. This guy now. I don't think he should be up there with Hitler but close and yet he's he's lauded and it goes back to the days. You should see these letters. He would ride the czar Alexander while he started a war for beat Russia once and he starts another war with Russia and he's like by the way you and I are best friends and anytime you WanNa have dinner and this this war has nothing to do with your friendship and my friendship and no matter what happens. We're still going to be buds. This czar didn't even write him back but that that's how this guy thought. And so anyway. I digress whoever you want to draft. Whatever his name is but his parents gave him. But if you go around and you look and you'd say who is going to help our franchise now who's not GonNa help our franchise now and you try to avoid the Naz. Obviously but when you draft for need and this is the only sport where I think you do have to think about need. Because you know Reggie McKenzie's would say and I asked him twice about it. I'm like come on because he always said the big board does the picks the big board if you're unfamiliar with that term is just we are going to take all everyb- pick that we the five hundred guys and we're going to list them and then we're just gonNA check them off when it comes our turn to pick whoever's highest on or that hasn't been checked off yet well we're going to go ahead and check him off so if that is to say you are the the Kansas City chiefs and you have Joe Borough at the top of your board. Let's say you're going to pick and he's still there. Do you pick Joe. Berle when you have Patrick Mahomes. No you'd be stupid. You either do three things you get a weapon for Patrick. Mahomes which he doesn't need you get an offensive lineman for him which he does need or you beef up. A suspect defence. You don't draft a quarterback and when you already have a quarterback that's just it's harebrained now in baseball if you have the best catcher in and on your big board is Joey Bart you draft him because he's years away and especially in basketball which we've learned time and time again you don't draft for need. This is how Portland lost out. Not just on Michael Jordan. But also I'm Kevin Durant because they had to go buoy and Odin that I don't blame them for going. Odin so much but the buoy thing I mean that was just when you thought everybody has a position and they thought like I said well. We already have our quarterback. We already have our to guard in Clyde Drexler. Why would we want to two guards? We can get a big man. So in retrospect it made complete sense. But sometimes you just have to go with guys who can ball right and it's laughable now to say oh you can't have two two guards play together you can have two point guards play together. You can have two small forwards you're GONNA have to power forwards are you. GonNa have zero powerful. You could run the death lineup as they call it they called it in Golden State. There's no center whatsoever. So the big board helps because it. What the big board does you say. We as an organization. Feel this way and I can't tell you who's number sixty four on your list. It's not the same as any other team. It's not your top. Fifteen is different than every other team. But when you get in to the third fourth fifth and later rounds your board is not GonNa match-up anybody else. So at least you can look up there in the fifth round and say what are we still need? We need five positions okay. Well what does the big board say the Big Board? We are in a consensus more or less. We've agreed as a scouting staff as a personnel staff. The owner of the head coach. We've agreed that this guy is the next best guy. Okay then let your big board do the talking but not in the first second even third round. Just get great players. I'm rick it'll take a quick break. Come on back but go pill I wanted. Hey sorry the type of guy that wants to look put together but doesn't WanNA spend hours at the mall finding new clothes so you can look great at the office on the road or even just on the weekend with friends and family I hear you. This is why they're stitch. Fix Your personal styling service and delivers handpick..
