Mark Levin Reacts to January 6th Hearings in the Last Hour

"I listened to some of this hearing. I didn't watch it live. But I listened to some it literally in the last hour or so. And, um Tremendous amount of drama. Lot of graphics. Adam Kinzinger was crying lose, Cheney said. Sometimes you have to pick country over party. Ladies and Joe, this is this is really, uh Too bad, quite the spectacle. That this committee is loaded up the way it is. If Adam Schiff on this committee Who led an insurrection against the Trump administration. You have this guy Raskin from Maryland on this committee. Push for impeachment twice. Then you have Cheney has always hated Trump her father's always hated Trump. The Bushes have always hated Trump. And then of course you have King Singer. Who lied to the people in his district when he ran as a tea party candidate, flipped into Rhino land and has always hated Trump. Didn't vote for Trump. Now we had some police officers giving testimony. I don't condemn them. But we only had certain police officers giving testimony. You don't have police officers giving testimony so far, who let People into the Capitol building. Maybe maybe they will be questioned. You don't have FBI officials being brought into this hearing. Maybe there will in the future. Explaining why they failed to provide information to the police officers when they had it 48 hours earlier. You don't have any answers right now. Why Nancy Pelosi and nobody in leadership. Accepted Donald Trump's offer of 10,000 National Guardsmen.

Rep. Banks Says Pelosi Must Answer Questions About Capitol Security

"Nancy pelosi has broken a few norms by kicking you off the kangaroo commission for the ridiculous january sixth thing what are you guys going to do exactly the kind of vengeance. It's necessary to deter this kind of norm destruction in the future. Well that's a great question for first and foremost where we're going to have a press conference here about a half an hour. The group that she or that that kevin mccarthy rather appointed to serve on the committee that she rejected as you said this has never happened before completely unprecedented in congressional history for the leader of one party to reject the appointments to a select committee from the other parties. So i suppose. I'll be an asterik in history when it comes to that but as far as the as far as the topic at hand the reason that nancy pelosi targeted a rejected me and jim jordan because we were beginning to ask the questions this she did not want this committee to head toward answering. What questions on am i talking about. Specifically about why. The united states capitol was vulnerable on january. Six to begin with when there was intelligence report three weeks before january six that told the told the capitol police that something was going to happen that day. Why why did the leadership of the capitol. Police failed to act on that intelligence. And and why didn't they do anything about it. But by the way when you look at the leadership structure of the united states capitol and the oversight of the of the united states capitol police. The speaker of the house says more authority than anybody. So all of this happened on nancy. Pelosi's watch and and those are the questions. Jim jordan and i started asking about about those vulnerabilities why nothing was done about it and those are questions. That clearly doesn't want to doesn't want to answer.

Nancy Pelosi's on Her Last Legs

"Let's begin with nancy. Pelosi making what i think is a grave error. I think she always hear about. Donald trump destroyed the norms. Okay nancy pelosi as speaker is wiping out the all the customs traditions of the house of representatives and she must pay what she did is on this baloney january six commission. And i gotta tell you about january six guys. i keep hearing how. It's a giant riot and insurrection. Look i was in the los angeles riots. Fueled by maxine waters not democrat. I was on the streets for three weeks with third battalion. Hundred and sixtieth infantry. That's a riot what happened on capitol hill was a frat party. Okay no comparison all right and the only person killed on. Capitol hill was an unarmed trespasser veteran. Shot by a cop whose name we don't know. Dozens were murdered in los angeles. So you know. Save your drama for your mama. 'cause i'm not entertaining. It and nancy pelosi wants to have this kangaroo court commission so she appoints liz. Cheney nominal republican and now she's going to appoint adam kin zinger the r-enfield of the gop caucus but she's not allowing kevin mccarthy to put jim banks big friend a show and jim jordan on the committee. She doesn't approve. She is picking who the republicans can put on committees. This cannot stand. This is not happened before. Now they strip marjorie taylor green her seats and that was a bad precedent. But it's special. This was a merger we we had to do it. If kevin mccarthy doesn't retaliate. They've set a new standard. He he needs when he becomes majority leader. He needs to and in fact he needs to announce it now. I'm going to strip all you democrat committee chairs

"Have never minimized the events of january. Sixth kevin mccarthy has never minimize those events. Mitch mcconnell has never minimize those events in fact mitch mcconnell once. I'm sorry to say rather stupidly. Blame trump for january sixth hard to blame trump hard to get these words out of your ears when he spoke on january six and said i know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the capitol building to peacefully and patriotically. Make your voices heard. Hey senator mcconnell that's not some code forgo act violent so again. There's no mystery what happened. That day was dreadful and the people who did it should be prosecuted. But that's not enough for liz cheney. That's not enough for adam kinser. That's not enough for nancy pelosi and to me. The one upside is this stupid hearing. They can't drag it out until the midterms i mean. I'm sure they would if they could. But they're not going to be able to drag this out for the next you know what is it. Eighteen months fifteen sixteen months before the next election before the midterms when the democrats are going to get their butts kicked now they can't they can't keep they'll try. The news will keep showing the images of the chewbacca guy and the broken windows and the poor cop going help help. They'll play that from now on november doing everything they can to preserve the democrats protect them from losing their seats in the house and in the senate and in the state races up and down the ballot. "Sewer back with melanie red. And she's talking about her calling. And you're calling and what you're doing and melanie you've had a calling on your life in many different ministries and just recently. You've become a health coach with your husband randy. Let's talk about that okay. Well i'll tell you this. Nancy people ask me. How will i tell them. I just get up every morning. I henry black abbey who wrote experiencing god. He said he gets up every day and he says god. What are we doing today. And he wants to live on mission in an adventure with god and so. That's kind of how we see our labs is we're just everyday is an adventure with him. This time. Last year my husband was having some heart issues and he had to have three cents put in his heart. Doctor said if he does not lose weight. I'm going to be cracking him. Open and it scared us and so we started this health journey where we said we gotta lose weight. We've live differently. Not just change a little bit or changed for a couple of months. We need to change our laps and so we went on an adventure. And we've lost together. He's lost about fifty pounds. I lost over thirty and We just changed the way we live. We eat to live. we don't live to eight. We're more active. We feel better. Were taking better care of ourselves because we feel like we wanna live are however many more years god gives us healthy and feeling good and not in a doctor's office is so that's kind of how that came about and then other people started saying what are you doing and so. It's been a lot of fun nancy. Because i didn't set out to do it but we've been able to help over fifty people start to lose weight and feel better so that's really great. That's fine but we were just kind of doing arab thing living life and got added this to our plate. Yeah it's like it's his own ministry you know and that's an even though you start out with what you think you're supposed to be doing. You may end up. God may end up putting you in so many different ways using you in so many different ways right to say i tell my kids that my kids are in their twenties and they're kind of figuring out their futures in their careers i saw. I think it was. Gary banner check said the other day. You don't have to decide what you're doing for the rest of your life. You just have to decide what to do tomorrow.

"Hill, The 1st January sixth commission hearing is Tuesday. This at the same time prosecutions are moving through the justice system. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and top House Republican Kevin McCarthy remain at odds over the panel. As NPR's Mara Liasson tells us, this is the state of play in Washington at the moment, I think That the January 6th investigations really illustrate the deep divide that we have in this country. Nothing illustrates a better actually, we have the worst attack on the capital since 18 12. And the decision about whether or not to investigate. It has become completely partisan. We have Republicans voting against the independent Commission and against this special Select committee, Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House, appointed to Republicans to that committee, both of whom disagreed with the committee's existence in the first place. "And this is what I said. Cut one go. I'm going to tell you what's going on. I was part of the Reagan revolution as part of the tea party movement. Was part of the Trump revolution. There is a massive movement of foot. It's not under the radar. People just started looking at it. The silent majority is not going to be silent anymore. The American people are furious with what's happening to their country by American people. I mean, all American people who love this country, regardless of their color, their religion, their background. Red blooded Americans. They are sick and tired of what they've seen in the first six months of this administration. They don't like the way they're being treated by the elites in the media. They don't like being looked down upon by these phony professors who they bring on TV who trash them. They are disgusted with the teachers unions. Parents all over this country can't believe what's happened to elementary schools and secondary schools. Parents go broke to send their kids to college, another coming home on Thanksgiving or other days, and they don't know what's happened to them. We're paying for our own demise with tenured Marx's professors and administrators. For schools that are turning on our founding in our history. Americans love their history. Today there's new reporting the speakers adding even more republicans to the already bipartisan investigation. Many hossan and katie hill are here to talk about at all next. Donald trump talking to washington post reporters carolina and philip rucker about the loving crowd at the january. Six rally. just before the insurrection. Now more than five hundred people from the said loving crowd who marched the capital and started a riot have been arrested as a massive investigation into what happened. That day continues the house. Select committee is now moving forward. Today speaker pelosi defended her decision to continue without any of the five republicans picked by house. Minority leader kevin mccarthy after she vetoed two of them and he pulled the three. Select committee is bipartisan. And it has a and it will do. The job it sets out to do. It's going to be bipartisan but without a disagreement at the start as to any aspect of it because she has managed to pick people who already agree with her at least she believes they do and Starting of course with liz cheney. "We tried as much as they could to keep sort of firewall. In that respect bob nelson at arch was the one that approached me about the and my sense was the part of the discussion of flagship as well. Nancy's going to take something. She's she might go work with another venture firm so should we exclude her for anything that we're doing and they didn't want to do that but the bottom line is that bob at arch. Those two firms co founded in one that basically was sort of hired me. Yeah yeah i mean it. Just when you know biotechs chummy. In this way. But i was like did. He found a company. Say my wife's going to run. It was it just how it that how it worked and no it came the other way in and in fact in some ways that was difficult decision for me to make it. I really wanna go to a company that that my husband's firm was involved with but at the end of the day i went back to like. It's like these are great people and they really like why would. Why would i want to exclude that. As long as i can manage that. Yeah and then you know. It's flagship is well. They both are actually but flagship is just I don't know i'm fascinated by the things that they do. And what they're trying to do. And this is before madonna. Obviously now everything's did you see that the fund that we miss seena that flagship rinsed. Yeah that's incredible. I know that has to be an in my opinion. That's like the. Lp's are like absolutely we'll give you more money because look what you've been able to do. I don't i don't remember fun. Being that large for biotech like a boutique builder ever in the history of the industry. I think you're right. I think it's a really extraordinary. But you know i think the the the the the dna of of firms like flagship. And i think flagship is sort of the you know in some ways. The pioneer in the spaces go after big bold ideas. Yep and you know in our platforms and like really invest in it because these are the things that ultimately even though you might not know exactly how they're going to end up creating the breakthroughs they will and of course know when it was example who would have known it was going to basically be a savior for for kobe. But i think but making investments in some of these areas where you believe that there is going to be in. It's a big idea and you cut the capital behind it. I think is really important. And i think akita success. Yeah i had. I had new on the show and i just remember you know we finished and i was adding. I was telling talked to my dad. Later i was like. I'm just glad there are people like that there. That have the wherewithal and now the the money to say we don't know but we think this idea is really good and we're going to put money behind it to see what happens. Because that's how the breakthroughs come if you really conservative with your ideas. You're not gonna get the breakthroughs that way. I could not agree more. And i absolutely agree. Having people like new bar in dog and all the others there and obviously other firms to think that way it's so important for us but you said something in an interview that i came across. You're saying that these drugs that you'd worked on avonex disovery valk aid that they were sort of molecules or compounds looking for a patient population and that you wanted to do it differently..

I ever went through professionally which is know the you know we got. We got to execute on this but at the same time you've got to build the team and right and i had to create myself as a leader of this group when i'd never done that before. Interestingly when i came in several of the people that were the leaders of the leukocyte that had come along. "The easiest part about building a business is the day you imagine it in your head because everything that happens after it is really hard the research, , the business plan the pitch to investors finding the factory, , the distributor, , the shops to sell your product. . Each one of these steps is an obstacle and for the most part, , each step creates a new problem. . Too many problems can become overwhelming and soon enough it can also become tempting to just ditch the whole idea entirely. . So to avoid that trap. . Nancy twine took each problem one at a time, , which is good because her idea was pretty complicated. . To build a line of natural shampoos and conditioners without most of the synthetic ingredients you'd find in other hair care products. . She also wanted to design a line of products for all hair types and textures, , and she one of those products on the shelves of Sephora one of the premier beauty retailers in the world all of these problems Nancy would eventually solve her brand. . is now carried by Sephora and is expected to do almost forty million dollars in sales this year. . But to get there especially with zero experience in the beauty industry was gonNA pose a series of major challenges starting with finding a chemist who actually believe you couldn't make this stuff without parabens or sulfates or phthalates, , or any of the other common chemicals you need to make shelf stable shampoo. . Biggest early challenge though was having the courage to start the business at all. . It was two thousand and ten and Nancy was in her twenty s on the fast track is a trader for Goldman. . Sachs. . In New York. . And one day without any warning. . A tragedy completely upended her life and prompted Nancy to reevaluate the way she was living at which we'll get to. . Nancy grew up on Long Island New York her parents split up when she was a kid Nancy's mother was a physician and the twines were one of the few black families in their neighborhood. . My mom was a family doctor and I don't even know if that term is quite used anymore. . And I do remember at a young age <hes> being at her doctor's office and it was always full. . You know a lot of people ask me where I got this very confident entrepreneurial experience from but I think that there was so much value and power of me seeing my mom running a successful practice really running a business. . My Mom was an entrepreneur in seeing that at a young age seeing her confidence seeing her joy and the fact that being a female being a black female was not a hindrance. . To any of the dreams and goals that I would ultimately have in life in red like as a kid used to go to West Virginia Lot. . But what's the connection to to West? ? Virginia he asked. . So my mom is from West Virginia. . She's one of eight children and <hes> my grandmother is from there and that's where she raised her tribe and a very small rural town called Rand R. A. N. D.. . What did you know about her upbringing? ? I mean it's like I. . Think to this day. . It's one of the whitest states in the country and obviously one of the poorest states in the country did she ever talk about what her childhood was like there? ? Yeah it was. . It was definitely a tough childhood. . They didn't grow up with a lot and the fact that my mom grew up in that type of environment not only not having an a lot but not being able to see what success and beyond that lifestyle could look like because. . so much of wanting to become better. . Or becoming successful comes from seeing other people who look like you that have done it. . And when you don't even see the possibility but knowing within you that it exists in having that faith and belief in yourself. . It's so so powerful and that was very much my mom's

"Was there anything that I talked on the show about or that? You heard on the show that you thought was too racy for your. Enjoyment. For the most part I thought it was so. Educational for me to like just learn so many aspects of the broad spectrum of lgbtq, but from a mother's perspective. I just felt that there were some things that are not meant for mother's ears to hear her son talk about. Sexual content like glory holes. Dad Anything I talked about on the show. That's too racy or you mean the glory hole. Just anything. You went for the glory. I love your parents though I do too I do. I'm curious how they reacted to hearing themselves on the show you know when they first came on, it was to talk about their reactions to when I came out. In College I, think listening to the show over the years. It's given them more of a glimpse as to what I experienced before, and after that moment like we've done episodes about what it's been like. Like for me as an adult queer person, and also what it was like to grow up closet, you know it. I think a lot of times I. Kind of Replay Your Childhood in my head, and think about like what could I have done differently, or would it have been easier for you? If I had been more aware our knowledgeable, and so you know there. There was that kind of balance of both like so much gratitude for understanding and knowing so much more now. As sadness that I I didn't know that before. We hear that from so many parents of Queer kids that they just want to know how they can do more or be better. Yeah and I do want to use this last episode to make sure my parents here this because I know. They're listening I think they got really right. They listen to me. They were supportive. I mean I think back to. How my dad was after I came out. Certainly, we've talked about how that it took me a year to re reframe you in my mind. And I told you I had to drive to work every day saying out loud to myself, I'm the father of a gay man and now was. It took me time to accept that and the tears would come only because of my fears about AIDS and my worry for your health a bit over time. I've seen you mature and so I'm much happier that you're happy where you are and I wouldn't have you be any other way. You're the the exact. Tobin load that I want and so happy to have as as a son. have to say that very sweet sentiment is something I heard from both of my parents a whole bunch tobin. This is no secret I have literally ask your parents to adopt me. I know this because you text them separately from me Oh. Yeah, we're definitely in a group chat. It's great. I will leave this Nancy listeners that I feel more connected to the community, the Lgbtq community more than ever. And I would urge you to keep supporting. Programs that that that share our diversity. And that would that would include the new version of queer eye. GonNa throw a plug for the new queer, eye and show. I still have to. "Come out to my mom, just just hearing. Hearing somebody else go through it and knowing that I'm not alone, even though it's a really. Difficult thing to do. I'm so glad it was helpful to her. It was so helpful to so many people. And I think it's only right that by popular demand. Well yes I talked to our favorite guests. The woman who started it all my mother. Hello how are you? Fine thank you. What are you doing right now? Sitting here, listening to your phone, so that's my mother. I'm starting to understand where I. Get my sense of humor from starting to. Well to be honest. My mom wasn't super chatty when I called because. She says I interview her too much, but you know this was important I. Asked her how she felt about the show ending would you? Would you, the Yamato how that you a you book a you, don't she? Enjoys his enjoy enjoy. He He's good just to He's normal. She says it's a good thing. You can't work on the same thing forever. It's good. It's no ball. How do you feel that our conversation? You and I talking have helped other queer children and their parents, their Asian parents immigrant parents. Oh, aw, to rewards in their bundle. Yala, that's good. If I really have helped some people then that's good happy mom with a short answers today. Truly is done with me. Well. I also asked her about Utopian hone. Cousin had nice engine. Nice Yeah. Can See you the partner she says Tobin looks like a nice young person very nice in a very nice partner to you I'm GonNa Choose to focus on the part where she said. I looked young. Thank you. I'm not. But there was one thing I really wanted to tell her because. I think it's been the biggest change for me since we started to making Nancy and since I started interviewing mom about a relationship, I feel like there's been so much growth between us and I just I just wanted to have like this moment with her. Since I've started making the show and did those episodes with you. The interviews with you? I feel like I actually. Come around to understanding you more. Is Good. I appreciate. You always take you always taking the time to do these interviews because I know that they're not. They're not easy to do so. Thank you for doing that. Your come your. Daughter okay. I can I say no. you know some so per usual I didn't get the moment I wanted with my mom. It's fine. It's fine. She's not that kind of mom. It's fine. That's okay, but you know what got her talking. So I already know the answer to this question, but. To take the bar exam. Yes. Okay what some of those unions you? Behold? Bay near. You don't need to go into this wedge I've got it. Goes Walkabout. Tobin speaking of our very first episode I think listeners will also definitely remember that both the bureau. Lovely parents made an appearance. Yes, MR and Mrs Slow have both been on the show and I. Think it's only right that way..

"Exciting energy you did did it did it did it? Okay! Hey, this is Matt Kellett Iowa's the producer and then senior producer an always superstar producer. Of, Nancy. My favorite moments working on the show, we're going out into the field with Tobin and Cathy. If I was with just one of them was totally anonymous, but if the two of them were there, people could just immediately spot them and people were always very excited and Tobin and Kathy. Roy's pretty embarrassed. Always hilarious and it was always great just to see the impact that this show had on real people who oftentimes we're seeing them represented in media for. The first time ever. Hi. I'm Isabel Angel and I help produce the queer moneymatters series in spring. Two Thousand Nineteen. I think my favorite moments were tracking with you. Guys. Kathy and Tobin for the episodes I just remember being killed over with laughter over the board. Looking at you guys in the tiny studio just barely able to do my job. We love all of you. And of course producers, the gibbons and be a Parker U2 make radio magic and I honestly can't wait until we work on the show that you both host. Coming up, we catch up with maybe some of our most popular guests. After hence they gave birth to us. We back in a minute. And we're back, so kathy before we jump back in I know we both wanted to take a moment to spread around some. What some of our listener be well, because so many of you have written to us or tweeted at us, asking what dwellers into now well, folks, there are so many great podcasts out there that are for Queer people made by people, and so many of them are fantastic. Here's just a few of them that we have been loving and listening to. Hi. This is IDA from the Africa podcast. Our show is about queer. Living loving surviving and thriving African continent and in the Diaspora. Hi, my name is Lee. FEFFER use the pronouns and I host a show called history is gay. A podcast examines the other appreciated overlooked Queer Ladies and gentlemen bees that have always been there in the. Corners of history because history has never been a straight as you think. Hey. It's Jeff Masters and I host the interview podcast. LGBTQ Anti. That's q with an Amazon and people like laverne Cox Roxane Gay Trixie Mattel, and of course my favorite interview all-time Kathy to. Joe Was a name is Morgan givens, and I'm the host and creator of flies fables. It's a show that brings US brand new hope punk fables for the twenty first century and centers, young black kids as a heroes of their own stories. Hi, I'm Eric Marcus founder and host of the making Kadish podcast. We bring LGBTQ history to life through the voices of the people who lived at. Our eighty episodes are drawn principally from my decades old archive of more than one hundred interviews that I conducted for the making gay. History Book. I. Hope you'll have listen. My name is Tuck Woodstock. My podcast is called gender reveal, and it's a show in which trans activists and artists talk about the way that gender intersects with raise. potties cultural background all sorts of stuff and also generally just tries to give us a little bit closer to understanding what the heck gender is. I am Robin and I'm Jamie and we are the gay the podcast. If these overs could talk GM, you do not have to say. We're gay every time high-tech. Anyway. It's a podcast about making lgbtq families in parenting in a world that's designed for St folks. Yes exactly we highlight our families normalizing them lifting them up. So all the folks out there can see that we're just like them. which is basically trying not to scream at our kids. We're twenty minutes late and they still have not put their shoes. They never put their shoes on. They just put their shoes on. L.! God help us. And that's just the beginning we've actually started a spreadsheet where you can go at your recommendations of podcast produced by Queer People that you think other folks would love. You can check out all our socials to find the link to the spreadsheet, and that's where you can start shutting out your face. Okay so as you know, we asked some of our listeners. What their absolute favorite of the shower Yup! And someone who reached out was Marlena Marleen Talk I'm a communications specialist and poet that lives in Washington. DC My pronouns, are she? Her hers then wanted Molina's favorite episodes of the show is one that many many listeners to. I think probably because of a certain guest. Going, it's your mom Kathy. It's your mom. It is my mom. For folks have been with us from the very beginning. You know that in our very first episode Kathy came to her Taiwanese Mama for the third time on tape. You know honestly I still can't really listen to that tape. It's very hard. I can't believe you had like the bravery to do that. It's such a vulnerable conversation to have especially because you know it is so real and in that tape you can hear that you and your mom are really going back and forth, and you know she doesn't outright. Reject you, but she also doesn't really get it. She doesn't really get your quietness. And that's actually what our listener. Marlena says. She really loved about it. When we're hearing about stories about coming out a lot of times, it's either black or white of like. They disowned you. In. That's terrible or oh, they're so happy for you and and great finally shared that with them and I don't think it's like that. Hasn't been like that for me. At least Molina says that listening to your story Kathy and had a big impact on her helped her. Listen to you, be brave, and that really helped me..

"Okay, all jokes, aside this really is our last show y'all Nancy has not been renewed, so it's coming to a close and in classic. Nancy fashion, we're GONNA laugh and cry and laugh about it. Yes, we're going to do all the things as we visit some of our favorite memories from the over one hundred episodes, we made of this show and we're going to hear from some of the people who helped us get their past members of team Nancy and of course you dear listener. We're going to be hearing from you about some of your favorite episodes. Speaking of which Listener Abigail in Baltimore sent us this message. The Nancy episode that I return to over and over again is the ring of keys episode. Ring of keys is an all time save. That's the story where we followed producer Sarah Lou, as she tried to track down the Queer woman from her childhood that Sorta showed her that there was a future for her one day as a queer adults. The Ring of keys episode was part of our first season, and we're GONNA. Listen to a clip your Sarah talking to her ring of Keys Person Mara. Being, a little awkward twelve year, old gay kid, and then seeing a very charming confident gay adults. At it allowed me to imagine an adult version of myself, which was huge, but also the layer of my parents thought you were cool, and so that made me think that they would approve of me being gay. Oh. Wow. That's a lot. Do you. Get up the floor. Thank you? That is the. Choked up. Think you. I never knew. That I could. That I could actually be a role model for somebody. That's possibly most popular. and Listener Abigail says a meant a lot to her I think to me. It really spoke to me about what it means to be a clear doll, and about finding intergenerational community and the possibility of being a role model and building those relationships with people so much so that in inspired her to take action, and I actually ended up after listening to that up a soda, reaching out to one of my camp counselors for when I was. Thirteen. And in retrospect, after listening to the episode, realize that it definitely have been one of those ring of keys moments, and that she had really tried to provide space for me, and I hadn't known the time, but looking back. I'm really grateful. To. Other episode! We kept hearing about from. You was our gaggle episode? If you remember that was our challenge to queer people everywhere to find their chosen family, there gaggle if you will, because you know that set of friends can just be different for us. I feel clip coming on. The dictionary defines gaggle. No, no, the dictionary defines gaggle as a group of geese, which has not helpful for our purposes, it also defines gaggle as a disorderly or noisy group of people, which is sort of helpful for our purposes. What I think of when I hear the word. Gaggle is a group of Queer France this unique formation of queer people unlike any other. It's the crew you meet up with gossip to hang queer eye guys. That's a gaggle Taylor swift squad, not a gaggle also problematic. The Gaggle is a posse. That gaggle is a family. The Gaggle is magic. We heard from so many of you. Who took the challenge to start a gaggle of your very own? My name is Jay. Pronounce your faith. And I was the one who started the Boston area, Gaggle. In like? May Twenty teen when J I heard the episode, I was like sounds cool, but like I'll just join if somebody else has already started this. And, then I found out that nobody had set up a facebook. Page for Boston. And I was like well okay. I'll do it. Anyway our listener J. it's a good thing. They did the work and started their Boston Gaggle because through that group. They met a special someone named Logan. It was a gaggle of entering pride. And We just had a good time. think we went out for years together as a group and we went out to the big gay dance. Party as. which is the thing happens here. Oh. My, God we stan a Nancy left connection. You're responsible for getting me into this relationship. Kathy they've been together for two years. They've been a couple for two years my God. Wow, I mean I. don't WanNa. Put any pressure on, and of course Maybe you don't believe in marriage, which is called called cool, but Tobin and I will definitely officiate if he wants to absolutely. Anyway okay I still love the Gaggle project because. I think this is the best thing to come out of our show like in the world that we're in right now I feel like me and the folks around me are all asking ourselves hauer contributing to the world and to me I guess. I always felt like making. As and really seemed like the most helpful thing in the world, but when we started this gaggle project, and I saw take off in the form of like our friends of Nancy Facebook, group and folks meeting each other at events and online I just truly felt like we did good tobin. We did something really good hard same the the time that I felt like the show was really worth. It was when we met groups of friends in real life who met through the Gaggle Project and had found their people through the project I was like Oh. This makes everything we do worth it yeah. So, we're hearing from all these folks, sharing favorite moments and None of those moments would exist without the people will help. Make the show over the years. We've gotten to work with so many amazing people have been so lucky, so here's just a field I'm sharing some behind the scenes memories. I'm Jenny Lawton I was an editor on the show from the very beginning, so it was our very first live show and cathy was really really nervous about it. And it was weird kind of setup. We were in this conference hall that had one of the stages that. was made up of risers and to get on the stage. Was this ramshackle looking ramp? So, anyway it was the start of the show and Kathy runs up the ramp and then trips and totally wipes out like totally wipes out. And she. Jumps back up and starts the show and did not miss a beat. You, guys, you made something so beautiful and it had a real impact on people. Listening and I'm me personally which I think you know and I am just so proud of the show and so grateful to.

"That was comedian. Cameron Esposito her book. Save yourself is out now arrate. I think we have one last phone call to make in that is to producers Kia Gibbons. Hey how's it going? Well that's I says it all. I know I'm just saying you know dancing on my own is I've been signed on my own. Which is even living being dramatic. There are worse things happening but honestly Salt isn't thing is hard especially as I would consider myself an extrovert. It took an unexpected toll on my mental health. It really affects me more than I thought it would have been. Honestly Pretty Pretty depressed lonely. Isn't the word but it feels like part of me is missing Yeah so luckily I do live with a roommate. My friend Lauren and we decided to do something fun just to shake things up. Try to get back to normal life but first we had to get ready. You go okay so Kia wouldn't marry. You guys are getting ready to do something fun like you're on under quarantine right now. What are you doing friendly people popular pussycats? Okay okay so we did not leave our apartments. We stayed our asses in Brooklyn. Because leave. Your apartment would be very irresponsible however we did go quote unquote go to a club called club quarantine. Which is this really cool really fun. Queer Virtual Dance Party. It's held on zoom. You know the video conferencing website you know we use them for meetings so they put up a code like right before the Party starts at nine o'clock and then view sign in so yeah. Everyone is just partying in their own apartments together online. And then you can see each other. Yeah there's like there's only got one hundred eighteen participants there a couple of people dancing with the backdrop of fun hours these the all these other squares Brady bunch style of a bunch of people bopping wherever they're at. Oh my God. Someone is wearing a sheet. Facemask people are in the chat room. It's like when you go outside to smoke and you're just chat with random people the chat room. He's going outside for some people are talking. Oh someone's asking whereas everyone from someone says Earth. This is like an days Brooklyn what I do in a real parties chick my UK off the call. My God that sounds so fun bogey there. It was honestly some of the most fun I've had in a while. Something like it was missing. I felt like that part of me. Would I got it back and I've been able to carry that glow with me and I just feel like myself again. Yeah that's good. That's all we like to hear. I'm actually making a friend in this club right now. High from Sudbury Best Party. I've been to an months all that SINC- everyone should cheers to the camera at the same time says ready on one. We cheers three to one. Oh someone says I'm going to cry in this bitch. You'RE GONNA go another one. Oh for sure. And I've been inspired to get back on my party throwing grind and I think I'm going to be throwing a lot of virtual parties so look for my invites turn-up amazing someone says they are saving our mental health. That is very true. Fell in a long time. Someone said everyone out go. Okay so I said when we're not all quarantine we should have an IRO in party. And one of the organizers said we will be. I would love that. Stay healthy iconic. This is this is.

"Okay so who's next? Who are we calling next? I think we should call sound designer. Extraordinary Jeremy Jeremy Bloom. How are you doing? Oh I'm doing okay say sane which is hard. Because I'm not saying in normal circumstances that's very true but today I sent twenty handpainted postcards to all my nearest and dearest friends including one of you. Wow Wow I know it's GonNa be me. I ran off posted steps. I ran out stamps. I ran out of stamps. They're more coming. I've just been thinking about how queer people are connecting to each other. You know we're all stuck at home. We're all lonely you and see where this is going. I see where this is going. Where's IT Gone Horny? Everyone's Hornet Yeah. Yeah we're human you know. Let's admit it for a lot of us in this day and age when we're home we're lonely. We might turn to certain phone. Apps to find relief so I was really curious how the makers of some of the biggest gay dating APPs are responding to the unprecedented situation that we're in I'm Eric Silverberg. I'm the CO founder and CEO of Harry Street software. An on. Todd's hours I work with Silverberg. As a period you'd softwares chief operating officer her street software makes two of the most popular gay dating APPs on the market scruff and jacked and so. I asked them if they've noticed. Any changes in the past week. Says the world has rapidly shifted and everybody is stuck inside record on weekly basis but what we have noticed. Is that the amount of time per day they open. It is down a little bit and we think that that is probably because people are figuring out right now. Yeah I would imagine that the APP makers have a lot to figure out right now to yet like if you're the place that so many people turn to when they're lonely and looking for company Lake as a digital space. Do you have the same responsibilities of physical spaces to promote social distancing and fight the spread of the virus. Well I think they do an APP makers like todd and Eric are thinking about what steps they need to take. They've removed all their event. Listings replaced them with links to local public health resources. There commissioning a comic book artist to make a really fun. Queer Guide to the importance of social distancing. That's cool I am Sir Wondering. Is that really enough though? Yeah that that was kind of my question to Booth Perry Street software in their competitor grinder are encouraging users to follow guidelines by the World Health Organization and the CDC but those guidelines specifically recommended. You put distance between yourself and other people the very thing that is not conducive to dating or hooking up. Yeah so I asked the APPS if they have plans to directly tell their users not to meet up grinder. Sent a press release said. We encourage people to participate in social distancing as recommended by local authorities and as for Perry Street software. Do you have plans to directly instruct. Your users. No do not meet up Is that something we would consider doing? Yes absolutely and they did. Consider it after we talked. They began the process of sending an APP wide message specifically asking their users to limit connections to only online interactions and not meet in person. Now is the time to stay home. They say remember that being physically distance from each other doesn't mean that where alone and grinder also ended up sending a similar message. I mean I think it's it's good that they're saying something about not meeting up in person but after say like if you're APP is primarily used to meet up and to Hook up. Bike is just saying. Don't do it enough. Like part of me is like shouldn't they shut down the APPS for a little bit right? Yeah I I think the thing is though that Contrary to stereotype queer dating APPS can be. Actually they're they're about more than just hooking up There was a period of time in my life that I lived in Istanbul Turkey and when I was there I really discovered how these APPs for. A lot of people can mean a lot more than just an opportunity for casual sex or dating and really APPS and at that time websites were really kind of the focal point of Kind of digital space that the queer community used to come together and then I think maybe this is an opportunity also to show that queer dating APPS can be about more than just hooking up and in fact todd and Eric told me that over half their users say that they're just looking to chat and they're not even really looking to meet up in the real world at all pandemic or no pandemic if people ask us for you know purpose. Xyz Or answers typically. Yes and you know. I fully expect that. S- Cross and Jackson and broadly are going to be used as a source of emotional support. Much as anything else in the age of social distancing. Are there any other options? You think you would suggest that your users consider I think the idea of scheduling dates in the future. It's a great one. It gives us something to look forward to. And it'll you know we'll have a very full social calendar once the vices past and people can go out again. I like the idea of keeping something in mind down the road that you're looking forward to that. That feels very helpful to me right now. Totally And if you are looking for more explicit get explicit guideline join me more explicit guidelines on sex and hooking up right now the New York City Department of Health released a really helpful cool or hip guideline sheet All about the the realities of sex during the cove in nineteen outbreak. How I saw those. It kind of reminded me of like a Hip. Bat. Sex Ed teacher. I wish I had in school Ali. Yeah we'll linked to the show page. It's really inclusive. Even vises you to wipe down your keyboard after anyhow sexting or video sharing and then covers. Remain Okay by Jeremy. Now you know Cath while we're on the topic of being. Maybe a little horny at home. Oh God tobin know where we going with us. Now stick with me stick with me. I'm just saying this is reminding me that if someone is looking for something they can enjoy on their own and that also maybe has a little steam to at Cameron. Esposito's new book is coming out. That's rate cameras. New Book is called. Save Yourself. It's her memoir growing up figuring out her gender and sexuality and she sent us a little reading from her book for. You all to enjoy. I touched your face. I'd never understood where to put my hands when kissing men. I may have held the back of the head when we kissed her. I might have touched Arm but when I begin kissing Joe I suddenly understood that. No gesture makes more sense than resting your fingers under a person's ears pressing your palms against their cheeks and pulling them toward you. We were both small but she was smaller and she had to tilt her head up to kiss me for a moment. Everything was slow. Then she'd get frantic. We a feral somewhere apart. Therapy parents crying kiss. Joe whipped her t shirt over her head as I in Butler jeans and mine and soon we were naked and lying. On top of the Christus Ist Motel bedspread seen parts of Joe. Her shoulders her breasts in the Tattoo on her left ankle but not all of her altogether like that for the next hour for the next eight hours. I felt and looked at her. The men I had dated were muscular and slim waisted with broad shoulders in an action. Figures upside down triangle shape. I'd compared myself against them and felt bad about myself. But JOE's body wasn't proportioned like there's should strong earners thighs rounded shoulders. She was more petite all over than particularly small in the waist. Seeing her I felt something new. I'd always thought my boyfriend's loved me in spite of my body. I hadn't imagined that I was beautiful to them that I turn them on. But here I was with this person and her body which looked a lot like my body and there was basically about to explode. It's not like I was healed overnight but seeing Joe that way shifted the body this Murphy. A- I've been trapped within for so long and that my heterosexual relationships were totally unequipped. To Bridge was the beginning of my understanding that you could be utterly attracted to and in love with the way a person looks without any thought how it compares to the beauty standard that were sold.

"If you're interested in learning more about sage and how you can get involved. We're going to throw some links on our website. Hi Nancy listeners. Pecan PECAN and Thera up in Vancouver is there and I and our family are doing well. we've been social distancing for a couple of weeks now because we went to Los Angeles and all came home. Feeling sick though. We're healthy now. My mom dropped off puzzles a couple of weeks ago. So I've been allowing myself fifteen minutes of puzzle time every day. My big camp is that I feel a lot better since they created a schedule. I know for some of us. It will be hard to find the energy to create a schedule or to find enough activities to make one but it really did help to sort of set a wake up time bedtime and to try to continue to work from home so I hope no matter what you're doing at home that you remembering that that we will get through this. There will eventually be a vaccine and get to leave our husbands again. If anyone wants to my puzzle when I'm done I will write down each piece with a bleach wipe and I'm happy to send it. Maybe that's like a fun game. We could play. I could just send one piece so thousand piece puzzle to nine hundred ninety nine people and we could put together. Virtually that sounds hard right. So Cathy something. Nancy listeners may or may not be aware of is that we do not make this show alone. God No are you kidding me? Yeah it would be tough if it was just the two of US anyway. Nancy's team effort. We wanted to hear from our team about what's bringing them comfort during this time so let us call them up. I our producer be parker. Hey Parker it's your supervisor bosses calling just kidding Parker as your bosses. Please tell us what you're doing are you doing? I Miss Hugs. You guys like social. Distancing is important but also hugs. Were Nice hugs. Were thing as your bosses. We can't really do that so we're like a week away from buzzfeed putting out in style journalist. That's like ten hugs. You remember from a week ago just gifts so in place of hugs What are you doing right now to stay connected and then like talking to all my friends like feverishly texting them and I'm immediately when all this stuff was happening. I went to talk to my friend. Arianna who who is Arianna will? Arianna is an audio producer. Like myself but they are just this great jolt of Sunshine. Yeah and I just wanted to see how they were doing and I ended up realizing you know in this current moment even you know the Sunniest of people are ensuring this time and it's okay to give even the cheerleaders in our lives. The space to be unsure. I think I had my major panic spiral recently so I feel like I'm kind of coming out of that and mostly just taking things minute by minute. I feel like if I looked too far ahead in terms of like what is happening. Feel panicky so. I'm trying to slowly adjust my expectations of myself. Like maybe like today. You can only just think a few minutes or a day at a time. Maybe tomorrow you can think a week ahead. Maybe after that you can think two weeks a month ahead I was trying to think of like the most positive thinking unjaded person I could think of to like talk about. This should be that he was like. Oh Arianna just a light. Oh really appreciate you thinking about. We end for the most part. It's true it's just this happens to be my actual like deepest pathological phobia. Yeah right now. I'm super scared. I know that I have to go to the market soon. Like on Mamie Thursday. Yeah now I feel like I have to psychologically prepare myself for it. I know I know. Oh My Gosh. And so like Oh. So that's where my head's at right now but what? What do you need right now? I miss the kind of like Ambien socializing like being in a city where you just have people around you. So I'm trying to figure out like how can I create that in my life? Like what if I would people like parallel play with me on skype like would like if I just like. Hey I just want to call you and be with you you know like I don't. We don't need to like talk about anything we can do our stuff and like be next to each other with you. Yeah yeah there's so much that's unknown right now and they can be overwhelming. We're all GONNA learn so much about ourselves during this time and I think that can go both ways. I think for better for worse. We'RE GONNA learn a lot about ourselves like we're gonNA learn the things that we haven't been paying attention to focusing on are working on in ourselves and that's going to be hard and feel like maybe we don't have the support or whatever we need to get through those things as I wanNA acknowledge that but I also think we're going to learn the ways in which we're more resilient than we thought or more creative than we are more resourceful than we thought you know more compassionate and it feels a little bit naive to be like what does the silver lining of the corona virus. You know it's it's not a trade off like growth and suffering happen simultaneously in all things in the times when we are forced to reckon with really difficult things we draw upon hopefully like the best parts of ourselves as much as we can. Arianna sound so lovely. I want to check in with them on. The regular now agreed so. Thank you for sharing with us. Parker as I'm giving you a virtual hug I am not hug me. Fine virtual hug it ends by there you go. I'll take out take the progression hug all right. We'll talk to you soon. Parker Leaner Parker..

"Kathy Tobin first question. How are you feeling I'M NOT GONNA lie I don't feel great Mainly because My girlfriend and I both have some symptoms of the corona virus. So yeah not a not a great time. Right now yeah. I just want to assure everyone that we are monitoring it and by we I mean I am texting Kathy on the hour every picture. She's okay it's very much appreciated and you've been very helpful tobin you've been really great friend and CO worker. These are the things that you wanted to hear. I think they they were a right thing. Something Anyway Nancy Listeners We just wanted to jump into your feed with an extra little something because my God it has been a time surely has been a time. It's so rapidly changing that it's Kinda hard to keep up. Yeah And we've heard from so many of you that this pandemic having to self isolate and all the effects of that have changed your lives in a big way. My boyfriend and I don't live together so if suddenly things go sideways when we aren't together I'm so scared I won't see him again. I'm a personal trainer so I can't work from home while I'm not a high risk person if I get it. I know a lot of people who are. And if we're closed due to panic or mandated quarantine which actually it has already. I have zero other ways to make money and then you had that anxiety to my everyday anxiety of being transgender woman in a country where you're not always appreciate it or thought of as a woman. It's a really scary and difficult time right now and I think something that's helping me feel even just like the tiniest bit of optimism is seeing how people are still finding ways to connect with each other absolutely and then something. We think a lot about sharing Nancy. You know finding your people your gaggle and we've heard from so many of you that even though you can't meet up in person you're finding creative ways to stay connected last week. My senior class organized an impromptu graduation. It was really sad but it was really perfect for us because people got to use their chosen names without worrying about family and people got to dry ice in ways. That felt comfortable to them. My friends and I are playing video games and watching movies over Google Hangout. My local queer community center is closed for the time being but our program manager decided to stream the weekly activities. We've planned to go hang out dance party next Friday and we'll take turns. Dj in the spirit of reaching out. We're going to connect with a couple of our people and find out how they're thinking about keeping up a sense of community so kathy what's been helping you feel like you're in touch with other queer people helping me out during this time is hearing what other people are doing to take care of themselves. So I asked some friends of Nancy to tell us about what's bringing them comfort right now. I up a low message from a friend of the show. Snl CAST member in general hilarious person. Bowen Yang Hi Nancy. This is an absolutely playing several Minoan. Pg's and that's teams for massively multiplayer. Online really pretty gay. They think. Trust me if I'm wrong playing Gilmore's too which is free to play and friends on most computers now in planning with some friends and it kind of does feel like you're going outside with them and you're just sort of going on adventures and seeing a bunch of strangers outside too so it sort of simulates. What the world used to be like a couple of weeks ago but it does feel. Kinda Nice I love you very much. Everyone listened to what Tobin and Kathy say and Followed everything they told you to do. Okay Bye Bye. We love to and as he said listen to everything we say people say do always say. Wash those hands all the time. Stay home you'll hear from a few other folks sprinkled throughout the episode. Tobin what have you been thinking about? Recently I've been thinking a lot about what I can do to be there for other queers. Who might be deeply affected by what's happening and one of the groups most at risk is lgbtq elders? I talked to somebody at sage there. The National Organization that offers services to LGBTQ elders like meal delivery and they have meet ups at their senior centers and they said that. Queer elders are more likely to have been smokers and they may have additional health factors like HIV AIDS Many are also hesitant to seek out medical care because of discrimination they faced in the past. Wow Okay Okay. Yes so all of these. Things Make Queer elders more high risk and it means that a lot of them have to really like self isolate right now And that can be really scary so I decided to call up one of the seniors that sage works with to see how she's doing. Her name is Deidra Nottingham. A nine years. Y'All where am I reaching? You add right now. Do you drill. Where are you right? Now I'm in Brooklyn and for clean. I'm in my apartment This stage stonewalled. How has recently moved here at the end? January so. I've been here for over a month. I'm so happy because I raised my daughter right down the block where I'm living that now so it's a blessing that I'm right back where I started from. How're you doing with having to sort of self isolate right now? I'm a early bird. Also I'll get up at six o'clock and I go for my morning walk. Gotcha 'cause I have to go out every day and just read. See The I. I love the outdoors. Is there anything that you're sort of most worried about with with the pandemic and covered nineteen yet? I'm afraid that if I go out that I might catch it or something is made me a little bit afraid to go out now. The One lady I book store. She took all the toilet paper and act. Can I have one There's no way impactful us all that paper to nice and she said No. Oh my God what do you do every day? You mentioned you do your morning walk and you talk to your daughters or are there other things. You're doing the past the time I have a guitar. I taught myself how to play two years ago but I I put my finger but I love country music. Yes I love Willie Nelson we well I I. I'm a country girl by heart. My friends think I'm crazy because they don't like some news but they love me so they have to. Do you have a particular song? You're you're attempting to learn the one. Why Willie Nelson Minnow phenyle? County line.

"A day practically all day every day so trump writes a letter temple OC Nancy Schaper not now she hello CG or truck the other day said Nancy your day the fallen out that's why you're having trouble speaking here when you going announced his impeachment stuff yes tell rude for him that day was what everybody was thinking so trump fires off face get you being letter to Nancy Pelosi repairing them to the impeachment vote today claiming the Democrats were declaring open war on American democracy he said the democratic pitcher proceedings are unprecedented unconstitutional abuse of power by democratic lawmakers on the equaled in the country's history in his letter to policy wrote the articles of impeachment include no crimes no misdemeanors no offense is what so ever six page letter by the way he wrote that by proceeding with your invalid the impeachment you are declaring open war on American democracy you're offering Americans of faith so you're offending Americans of faith by continually saying I pray for the president when you wouldn't know this statement isn't true unless it's meant in a negative sense it's a terrible thing you're doing but you will have to live with it not a high trump wrote the policy had cheapened the important some of a very ugly word impeachment he charge a Democrats only want to overturn the twenty sixteen election everyone he wrote you included knows what is really happening your chosen candidate lost the election in twenty sixteen in an electoral college landslide in your in your party of never recovered from its defeat sorrow you've spent three straight years attempting to overturn the will of the American people and not a fighter votes you view democracy as your enemy he wrote you are the ones interfering in America selections you are the ones subverting America's democracy you are the ones obstructing justice you are the ones bringing pain and suffering to our Republic for your own selfish personal political and partition gain folks that paragraph is a grand slam he has called them out and in doing so with this verbiage he is saying what what every trump supporter as there is yelling every time they see any of these Democrats on TV talking about drop abusing office in raging himself politically and personally he's right when he says you are the ones interfering in American elections they are and not only are they interfering they'll corrupting them this is the thing that hasn't yet become common parlance in the discussion of this scandal but it needs to it is the Democrat party that is meddling and corrupting the perceived and real integrity and the honor of American elections by refusing to accept when they lose by claiming the Russians metal the Russians stolen the trump is a traitor and work with them to steal the election they are called in to doubt the honor and integrity of an election in which there was no meddling that has ever been found nor could be proved because it did not happen Barack Obama himself has said it would not be possible in the way these people are suggesting that it happened a foreign power somehow medal the in the election and caused Hillary Clinton to lose no they've never explained how this happened and even though the Roma report there are Bible found no evidence they continue to use it now they are in the process of creating doubt they are corrupting the perception of the next election fully because they expect to lose it and the point of this is that day and everybody in the media helping them do this is causing more damage to the integrity and legitimacy of our elections than Vladimir Putin could have ever dreamed of causing and I think that point needs to be made over and over and it needs to resonate because what they are doing has to be punishable by at the ballot box they have they deserve to lose by even a larger margins stop what they're really doing here the twenty sixteen election they can't get over that they lost and so it still to this day despite no evidence was corrupted Russians meddled trump stole it he's a traitor now they're doing the same thing with a twenty twenty election no the twenty eighteen elections were perfectly fine they won no concern whatsoever about any meddling in the twenty eighteen election he noticed that they won so perfectly legitimate and if they win in twenty twenty the election will be perfectly legitimate there will have been no meddling because the only meddling is by Republicans with the Russians and the Democrats will say that they identify did they beat it back but they don't expect the women twenty twenty that's what this is all about I detest what these people are doing I despise it what they are doing our elections and trump is calling them out on it and I pelos is running around his check check he's very sick might guess you Paul she should probably very sick days very deranged Virgil now this is as sensible as anything any Republicans ever said in response to Democrat lies in the letter to plus a trump brought up vice president Biden's threat to withhold International Monetary Fund aid to Ukraine allegedly did so to protect his son hunter pointing out that it was by getting involved in the internal affairs of Ukraine threatening to withhold money unless they fired a prosecutor Biden didn't like is it more due process was afforded to those accused in the Salem witch trials noting that even Ukraine president is a lens has repeatedly said that he felt no undue pressure from the White House to drop always throw something in there like this is worse than even the same was true because he knows it's going to drive everybody on the left Daddy he then said I have no doubt the American people will hold you and the Democrats accountable in twenty twenty label not soon forget your perversion of justice and the your abuse of power it's time for your in a highly partisan Democrats in Congress to immediately cease this impeachment fantasy and went back to work for the American people while I have no expectation that you will do this I write this letter to you for the purpose of history and to put my thoughts on a permanent and indelible record one hundred years from now when people look back at this affair I want them to understand it and learn from it so that can never happen to another president gap visa America's all.

"I'm often frustrated with what people focus on in how so much of it is the presidency but this is one one of those positions where if you have a of of progressive minded political agenda <hes> you you have to value Nancy Pelosi irrespective of how the media <hes> <hes> <hes> offers you the presidential campaign you have to view Oh this bigger ships almost more important than the presidency in many ways and one thing. I want to remind everyone just to put it out in the ether here. You don't would actually have to be a member of the House to be the speaker that is not in the constitution so you do have to be Pelosi. You do have to Pelosi and that's important now. Let's say let's suppose you're a billionaire a sixty two who your old billionaire who thought impeachment was really valuable and we're doing and you add a hundred million dollars that you're just dying to spend in politics. Might I suggest helping defeat feet this feckless. Do Nothing speaker this is this is where the you know <hes>. How much did Michael Bloomberg commit recently to climate change efforts? A decent amount yeah yeah millions and millions I mean he's he's for real on that too. I I don't like Bloomberg but electoral these billionaires who are really serious about pollution stuff and look if they want to give us their money of their own volition. We don't have the quote from them. I think that's preferable he if he if he really wanted to <hes> get the most out of that money it would have gone to change about whose team to twenty house seats yeah and leadership. I'm saying on that. Did you see any of just in a Masha townhalls sense. He declared that he was in favor of impeachment and since he's become independent hotels so I recommend this to all the listeners when you get done look these up because he and Brian you definitely need to go and check these out because a mosh talks about the mechanics of the speakership position from both his time under Speaker Ryan and under Speaker Pelosi and how much down ballot control and party control the Speaker's position. Have you need to be more concerned about the process in Congress. It's never talked about. It's the most important thing that's never talked about. The process makes all the difference and right now you have a system where the speaker of the house controls the entire process that was true under Republicans and a true under Democrats under Paul Ryan for for example we had for the first time in Congress's history an entire term where we weren't allowed to amend any legislation on the House floor so for those of you who say things like Justin..

Nancy Pelosi Michael Bloomberg Congress Masha townhalls Paul Ryan Justin Brian hundred million dollars
