"With, arguably one of the greatest opening riffs and Classic Rock Barracuda was written by Anna Nancy Wilson together with Guitarist Roger Fisher and Drummer Michael Derosier. It was written at a time when there was friction between the band and their label to put things mildly. The song appears on the album little queen their first album with CBS. Portrait. Records. They'd left their old label mushroom records after a contract dispute and mushroom was none too happy. Because according to mushroom heart owed them a second album. They not only sued the band for breach of contract and try to block the release of the CBS album but released magazine an album made up of songs that Hart had recorded but didn't think we're good enough to release as well as some live recordings needed to get it up to album length. The dispute dragged on and eventually the court decided that heart was free to sign with a new label but mushroom was indeed a second album. So. Heart went back to the studio to rerecord remix edit and re sequence the magazine recordings in a marathon session over four days. A court ordered guard actually stood nearby to make sure the master tapes weren't being erased. Heart eventually came out on top. As not only did the album little queen outsell magazine by a wide margin. The debacle gave the band the distinction of having all three of their albums on the charts at the same time. The court case wasn't the only reason. The Wilson Sisters in company were mad at mushroom records. After the first album became a million seller mushroom took out a full page ad in rolling stone touting the band's success using the headline million to one shot sells a million. No problem so far. The AD looks like the front page of a tabloid newspaper and included a photo from the Dream Boat Anne album cover shoot. The caption read. Hearts Wilson Sisters confess it was only our first time. Implying the sisters had an incestuous lesbian affair. Shortly. After this ad appeared a Detroit radio promoter asked an Wilson where her was. She assumed he meant her then boyfriend band manager Michael Fisher. But when the reporter clarified, he was referring to her sister Nancy and was understandably outraged and retreated to her hotel room to write. When she related the incident to Nancy to was outraged and join an in the writing session, contributing a melody and bridge. Nancy puts suitably angry music to the word to complete the song comparing the sleazy side of the Music Biz to a dangerous ill like fish. The song became an enduring classic and Barracuda remains one of the band's signature songs. Vera Khuda was test to another incident of severe irritation for the Wilson Sisters at. Against in two thousand eight. During that year's presidential campaign the song was used as the unofficial theme song for Republican Vice President Nominee Sarah Palin. The ALASKAN governor had apparently earned the nickname, Sarah? Barracuda as a high school basketball player for her competitive nature. The day after the song was played at the National Convention Anna. Nancy Wilson issued a statement reading. The. Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song nor would they have been granted that permission? We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored. Their wishes were not honored. As the Republican campaign pointed out, they had obtained the proper performance rights to the song from the record label and were under no obligation to get any further permission to use it. The Bar for performance rights being somewhat lower than the bar for commercial or video rights. With no legal recourse. The Wilson Sisters retaliated in the media telling entertainment weekly. Sarah Palin views and values in no way represent us as American women. We. Ask that our Song Barracuda no longer be used to promote her image. The Song Barracuda was written in the late seventy s as a scathing rant against the soloist corporate nature of the music business particularly for women. While, heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song the RNC. There's irony Republican strategists choice to make use of it. They're. The. Songs Co writer Roger Fisher was also anti Palin but he saw things differently telling Reuters. He was thrilled that the song was being used as it was a win win situation. He explained that while heart gets publicity and royalties the Republicans benefit from the ingenious placement of a kick ass. Song. He added that he would use some of the proceeds in a donation to the Obama campaign and thus the Republicans are now supporting Obama. See Kids. There's always a silver lining if we look for it.

"No way did Nancy Wilson have to make us love her. She's a wonderful wonderful singer songwriter from Ohio met her sunrise couple of days ago, and we're celebrating her life in her music. She was the first of six children in she knew she would eventually become a singer it just began when her dad would bring home records. She got to listen to some wonderful music NAT king Cole Jimmy skied. And Dinah Washington is really what prompted her to become a powerful voice in music. And and she would just she became aware of her talents while singing in church choirs imitating singers as a as a young child in performing in her grandmother's house during summer visits and by age of four she knew she was going to make it. And so this is really as it is a start on because Eddie. Age believe me four or forty whatever age, you know, for sure. "Nancy wilson. Today's just the catalog of music as beautiful voice, and certainly will be very Christmas. Not a polytechnic abouts saying merry Christmas between now and the end of the year is a great opportunity to just to remind everybody what the season is really about Soviet can't find that perfect gift. That's okay. This is about our Lord savior being born. And that's when we got to remember that well ever since I've gone to mcallen, Texas to the border to talk to moms and children that live on the border. I've been trying to and I think a really good job of making sure at three thirty every Saturday. We talked to someone that either I met on the border or someone that has a message about the border messes as not being told in mainstream media, so it is with much pleasure that I welcome to the Stephanie trussell show for the first time quitting Kramer was the managing director for American Foundation is the organization that wants to fund the wall. Welcome to the Stephanie trussell show Clinton. Thank you. Stephanie. It's my pleasure. Well, you know, you talk about the wall earlier I had on a Representative from New York talking about Tom read about the wall in why we must support you support President Trump again, I said this to him when all I hear from the left is that white males are just insecure about their position, and they don't want black and Brown people coming over the border taking their jobs, and that's what it's all about. That's what we really upset about. And it has nothing to do with anything else. Other than that. That's unfortunate. I mean, there are so many other reasons why secure borders important, including the amount of drugs that come across the border potential terrorists child trafficking that happens. I mean, it's not about race. Really? It's about securing the country and keeping the people inside safe you mentioned child trafficking and sex trafficking. And that's something that again, even though I pay attention because I quote, unquote, I'm in the media, and I'm blessed to have this show every Saturday, so I try to pay attention. But even a person like me, that's that's looking for stories. I was surprised once I got to the border and talk to people that live there. I didn't know about the sex trafficking that didn't occur to me. Because all I hear from the left wing media is that they're just people that are seeking asylum. They just come here the pick fruit and do jobs that we wouldn't do. Well, this is where I think sensible message about immigration is important because what we see a lot of times at the border is around unaccompanied children who are with people that aren't their parents. And so in many cases that gets deflected into a conversation about whether or not the families are getting separated. But there's a reason why we separate children from people that aren't their parents when they come to the border, and so we should really be looking into those numbers and understanding what the truth of that is because to a large extent with the ball in place. They would be presenting at the reports eventually instead of being caught by throughout to try to determine in the field. What's right, and what's wrong with regards to who's somebody's parents are not we're talking to Quin Kramer from fund the while literally fund the wall? How did that? Did it all start? Well, there's been a lot of talk about people that were willing to volunteer to go to the border and potentially bring materials actually start constructing walls while that's not necessarily feasible. It is certainly feasible for Americans to come together and produce the resources either for DHS or for the sheriffs that are there at the border or anyone else who's working to do it. Keep it secure and get them the resources directly. And so rather than be a lobbyist or try to get legislation going we decided to try to take direct action and help those people that are they're getting the country secure to do a better job. So it's a five, oh, one C three and donations are being collected. You'd literally get the money to d h s this directly you funding people that are donating gets of actually fund the wall. Right. And that was the key. I mean before we even started the organization we wanted to make sure three things were true one that we could make them tax deductible as you mentioned the contributions would be tax deductible. The second was that we could get the money straight to DHS and the third was that they could only use the money for border wall construction and not just any mission of d h s and so when we were able to accomplish those three goals, then we could come out and talk to the country about being a bible alternative to the things that we've seen happening in these days. So I love how you said instead of just being a lobbyist you wanted to actually do something I hear that more and more when I listened to different radio stations and different shows and people are just saying can we used to have war bonds? I heard someone I believe they call into the Rush Limbaugh show and say here we have wall bar bounds. Where American people are saying I'm willing to invest in this because it's so important and DC can't get their act together to work together to make sure they're protecting American citizens. What what can we do? Exactly, exactly. And while we're trying to honor the spirit of a true crabs crowdfunding emission right now. Get as much of the tons through VHS as possible, we are looking at some ways wants premature there's a little bit to have a brick with your name on it or some sort of a memento there that shows that people that contributed, but for now, we want to get as much of the resources directly homes, we can push back about the word wall and not wall isn't feasible on every place. But there are other names some of the other ways, we can put barriers up between a Mexico, and and and our country. Oh, absolutely. And to your point. Or why you have this segment, which is people whose message just don't get to the mainstream. I think one of the important concepts about this organization is we're not necessarily pushing for a wall from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico the secure fence act of two thousand six prescribes a situation called operational control. Which means that basically one hundred percent of what shouldn't be getting across doesn't get across. And from that standpoint. In some cases, there are places where there's just miles and miles of open flat desert and so ground radar or drones that can be deployed with low cost can easily pick up people that are coming trying to walk towards the border and the CV pigeons can just go meet them there and picked him up. Now, granted the wall in that case would be a deterrent. But from the standpoint of the security of the border a drone and ground radar and other technologies like that can be just as effective. It's so interesting you mentioned something from two ninety two thousand six there in so many laws on the book, and these are acts that have been been around for decades. And that's what I love about Donald J Trump well coming into. Saying how about we just enforce the laws that we already have? How about we live up to the promises we've had acts and laws and and funding and promises, and this has kind of been this this political hockey puck back and forth. If you do this, then we'll get it. They make the deal and the wall never gets built. Well, you're right and many people have run for congress and being lecture based on promises that they would take action. If you didn't take unfortunately with regards to that specific security, and so it's kinda how an organization like us ends up starting is then if the government becomes unwilling able to do what it's basically mandated to do which is to protect our citizens and protect our border. Then we as the citizens have to go through that. I give out your website shorts. WWW dot fund the wall dot com, and what I love about it is that there's actual merchandise that you can get t shirts, mugs, and things, and you know, when you buy these items that you're helping to actually fund the wall. Absolutely again. Thank you very much. It was such a pleasure anytime. I'm you're welcome. Anytime reach out to me, if there's something that the listeners America would need to hear about it's my pleasure to have you on and again mainstream media will never tell us what's really going on at the border. And I'm so happy that there are people like acquitting, Kramer and fund the wall organization out there being the voice for these people and demanding that America just do what what they should do. And that's protect American citizens..

"Sixty four Nancy Wilson dead at the age of Eighty-one. What a bizarre story is southwest flight was forced to turn around after a human heart met for donation was accidentally left on board the plane now the hearted arrived Sunday at Seattle Tacoma international airport where it was due to be unloaded. But it wasn't until the pilot took off for Dallas that the airline realized the life critical cargo shipment was still on the aircraft. They simply said we made a decision to return back to Seattle the heart had no intended recipient at the time as the heart valves must be processed before being transplanted, and they wouldn't be available for quite some time. But the fact that they left the heart on the plane took off is unbelievable. So unbelievable. I thought I check in with Howard bloom Howard. You're an expert on the human mind. How could somebody forget a heart on a plane? Well, let's see if we can milk a bigger meaning from this episode. Details are going for a bigger. Meaning here a heart was headed from Sacramento. Seattle were a lab was waiting to harvest its valves. But it was accidentally left in the cargo. Hold of Southwest Airlines flight thirty six o six six when that flight took off a three or two PM Pacific time on the next leg of its journey. Heading from Seattle to Dallas, the Boeing seven thirty seven seven hundred sixty nine minutes into its flight over eastern, Idaho. When the mistake was discovered the captain announced that the plane turning around to take the five hundred mile trip to that back to Seattle. Now, how did these Dallas bound passengers react to an unexpected five hour delay? You know, what they did on the plane? They got together grab their cell phones. And started googling now said Dr Andrew w Gottschalk was a passenger on the flight, and there's an orthopedic sports sedition from New Orleans. This wasn't adding up. Her transplants aren't something you throw in a WalMart, cooler and put on a plane. However in this case, apparently that very much what was happening. Meanwhile, the plane landed at five fifty six at Seattle, Tacoma international. Airport a contracted courier pick the herd up in Russia's Renton Washington the home of like net health, the lab, the heart was headed for to have its valve service. It here's the problem that perplexed. The passengers there's only a short window of viability for a heart four to six hours in the case of a full heart transplant and the passengers having given the impression that the telltale partner cargo hold what's for implant over the window viability for harvesting, the valves of a heart is forty eight hour nets right at the heart was still a lot more to this George this episode shows first of all why other organ procurement organization saving ever us commercial flights for her transplants. They use special medical life. But what's the bigger? Meaning we are gifted with blessings that we don't see my book the genius of the beast directly vision of capitalism halls these blessings material miracles in the eighteen fifties. It took wagon trains two and a half months to cover the thousand mile distance back and forth that this plane covered in two hours and fifty four minutes. And you're right grandfathers and grandmothers time if you had a heart problem it killed you today, we have hurt and hurt. Vail transplants. We have WI fi on airplanes we have smartphones. Have put the power of the computers have helped put the astronauts on the moon in your pocket, and we can dive into Google whenever we are replaced now. Even if we're in the air, there are other material miracles that we are blind to we've doubled the average lifespan. We've upped the average IQ by thirty five points. We've increase the average height by four inches. We've increased the lowest salary by factor. Seven and we've upped the level of peace to ten times sorta wasn't sixteen fifty now only one civilization has ever produced these material miracles its western civilization. So think about this heart during your Christmas season and do a little thanks giving. I I want to interview the guy who gets the transplant heart coward. That would be wonderful. Are you got it? And we'll have you want to chat with them to more than half of the Americans confessed to making a financial mistake when pursuing their financial goals this year in the most common mistake had to do with get this dining out one in four Americans confess that they dined out way too much last year and spent way too much money about that they had fun though. I want to interview a parrot. That's what I want. Well, we just updated the UFO center website with seventy eight new reports. So there's a lot of stuff going on. But I would like to begin my report tonight with a wonderful wonderful report. I just received in yesterday's postal mail from a gentleman up in Canoga Alberta. That's about forty or fifty miles south of Edmonton up there in Canada. Canada are good neighbors up north this gentleman through his daughter wrote a wonderful report about an incident. He remembers crystal clearly that is from either August of nineteen ninety or ninety one he writes that he and his wife were sitting in their living room at their farmhouse when their dog a collie started not barking screaming it sounded like a human scream. Both husband and wife realizing something was profoundly wrong. Race to their front door to see what the matter was nothing could be seen except for a strange red glow in the eastern horizon. Well, the husband consider that for a couple of minutes, and he decided to drive out there and see what it was that was making that red glow. Let me say he's braver than I would be under those circumstances. And boy did he see something odd. He went probably not more than a mile. He writes when he ran into a craft they shipped George just hovering a very large ship hovering motionless above the forest floor with a row of red lights down one side and a row of red lights across the one end of it that he could see suddenly the lights dimmed and the object disappeared from the site. But all is not over yet. He drove a little bit further spotted it again close. Two neighbors farmhouse and suddenly the object just accelerated dramatically quickly leaving a Red Stripe in the sky. Well, I think those people are probably tuned in tonight first-time listeners coast to coast, and I wanna thank him for a wonderful report that they've submitted. A little more recent. This is two days ago van daily Michigan. Gentleman was in his garage. And he heard a chirping sound coming. It seemed from the sky he walked outside and didn't see anything. But suddenly an object just streaked over his head so fast that he couldn't focus on it. He has no idea what it was. But he writes that it would probably was not a bird. Next report comes from mountain home, Idaho. This is from yesterday. Four PM gentlemen, saw an orange light rise above a mountain range suddenly split into two ruling out probably a Chinese landowners. So called sky lantern. He watched that happens three times in sequence has no idea what they were. But probably not probably not lanterns, probably not aircraft. And last report I'd like to share comes from Chula Washington. This is this morning, George four AM gentleman driving home from a night shift at work and he saw a green blue green object streak horizontally in front of his car at a velocity you said, he's never even imagined in his lifetime. Very interesting report that one's posted to our website. So a lot's going on. I'm gonna be away from the hotline for several days here over the Christmas holiday. So if any of the coast listeners have UFO sightings, I'd encourage them to submit their reports using our online report format UFO, center dot com. Super peter. We'll talk to you next week. Thank you so much up next Tania Richardson back with us with their latest work angel intuition. I'm looking forward to this. She's next on coast to coast AM..

"Sixty four Nancy Wilson dead at the age of Eighty-one. What a bizarre story is southwest flight was forced to turn around after a human heart meant for donation was accidentally left on board the plane now the hard arrived Sunday at Seattle Tacoma international airport where it was due to be unloaded. Well, let's see if we can milk a bigger meaning from this episode referral. Details are going for a bigger meaning here a heart was headed from Sacramento Seattle. Or a lab was waiting to harvest its valves accident we left in the cargo. Hold of Southwest Airlines flight thirty six o six six when that plane took off three two PM Pacific time on the next leg of its journey. Heading from Seattle to Dallas, the Boeing seven thirty seven seven hundred sixty nine minutes into its flight over eastern, Idaho. When the mistake was discovered the captain announced that the plane was turning around to take the five hundred mile trip to that back to Seattle. Now, how did these Dallas bound passengers react to an unexpected five hour delay? You know, what they did on the plane? They got together Rev their cell phones and started googling now says Dr Andrew w Gottschalk was a passenger on the flight, and there's an orthopedic sports decision from New Orleans. This wasn't adding up heart transplants, earn something you throw in a WalMart, cooler and put on a plane. However in this case, apparently, that's very much. What was happening? Meanwhile, the. Plane landed at five fifty six at Seattle Tacoma international airport, a contracted courier pick the herd up in Russia's to Renton Washington the home of life net health, the lab, the heart was headed for to have its valve service. It here's the problem that perplexed. The passengers there's only a short window of viability for a heart four to six hours in the case of a full heart transplant and the passengers having given the impression that the partner cargo hold what's for implant over the window of viability for harvesting. The valves of a heart is forty eight hour nets right at the heart was still good to go a lot more to this George this episode shows first of all why other organ procurement organizations saving they never use commercial flights for her transplants. They use special medical life. But what's the bigger? Meaning we are gifted with blessings that we don't see my book the genius of the of capitalism halls these blessings material miracles in the eighteen fifties. It took wagon trains, two and a half months. It covered the thousand mile distance back and forth. That this plane covered in two hours and fifty four minutes, and you're right grandfathers and grandmothers time if you had a heart problem it killed you today, we have hurt and hurt. Veiled transplants. We have WI fi on airplanes we have smartphones. Have put the power that computers have helped put the astronauts on in your pocket, and we can dive into Google whenever we are perplexed. Now. Even if we're in the air, there are other material miracles that we are blind to we've doubled the average lifespan we've up the average IQ by thirty five points. We've increased the average height by four inches. We've increased the lowest salary by factor. Seven and we've upped the level of peace to ten times. So it wasn't a sixteen. Fifty now only one civilization has ever produced these material miracles its western civilization. So think about this heart during your Christmas season and do a little thanks giving. I I want to interview the guy who gets the transplant heart coward. Have. That would be wonderful. Are you got it? And we'll have you want to chat with them to more than half of the Americans confess. To making a financial mistake when pursuing their financial goals this year, and the most common mistake had to do with this dining out one in four Americans confessed that they dined out way too much last year and spent way too much money about that they had fun though. An incredible story producer, Tom Dan Heuser sent to me this morning. A pair. It has fallen in love with his owners, Amazon Alexa, but keep using it in order to do some shopping. The apparent. I'm not kidding. So far Rocco? The African grey has demanded treats such as strawberries, watermelon, raisins, broccoli and ice cream through Alexa. He is also ordered a kite lightbulbs, and even a kettle he likes to dance to and tells the voice activated device to play favorite tunes. Sometimes they're slow numbers. He dances, along by the way, and he prefers rock. Let's we gotta we gotta Tommy we're going to interview. Rocco? The African grey parrot. What else is going on these days? Let's check in with Peter Davenport from the national UFO reporting center. Peter what's up, I hear these stories Georgia, and I don't feel so bad about being addicted to the UFO feel. I want to interview a parrot. That's what I want. Well, we just updated the UFO center website with seventy eight new report. So there's a lot of stuff going on. But I would like to begin my report tonight with a wonderful wonderful report. I just received in yesterday's postal mail from a gentleman up in Canoga Alberta. That's about forty or fifty miles south of Edmonton up there in Canada. Canada and our neighbors up north. This gentleman through his daughter wrote a wonderful report about an incident. He remembers crystal clearly that is from either August of nineteen ninety or ninety one he writes that he and his wife were sitting in their living room at their farmhouse when their dog a collie started not barking screaming it sounded like a human scream. Both husband and wife realizing something was profoundly wrong race to their front door to see what the matter was nothing could be seen except for a strange red glow in the eastern horizon. He drove a little bit further spotted again, close to neighbors farmhouse and suddenly the object just accelerated dramatically quickly, leaving a Red Stripe in the sky. Well, I think those people are probably tuned in tonight first-time listeners coast to coast, and I wanna thank him for a wonderful report that they've submitted a little more recent this is two days ago. Then daily Michigan gentleman was in his garage. Four PM gentlemen, saw an orange light rise above a mountain range suddenly split into two ruling out probably a Chinese lantern or so-called sky lantern. I'm. Going to be away from the hotline for several days here over the Christmas holiday. So any of the coast listeners have UFO sightings. I'd encourage them to submit their reports using our online report format UFO, center dot com. Super peter. We'll talk to you next week. Thank you so much up next Tania Richardson back with us with their latest work angel intuition. I'm looking forward to this. She's next on coast to coast AM..

"Great Nancy Wilson died today at the age of eighty one I wanna play a little bit of her music Grammy award winner back in what we back sixty five Beth R&_B recording in two thousand five two thousand seven best jazz vocalist album. Stop reforming in two thousand eleven tell you a quick Nancy Wilson story. I was I got married, and my wife was dating this woman. We went out to Brooklyn kademi music, so Gerald Albright the saxophonist, Nancy Wilson and main reasons, I'm what was Phyllis Hyman love Phyllis Hyman. Usually late. So they said the plane was laid and everybody sit tight. We're in Brooklyn season. Laguardia should beat about thirty minutes. Associates just, you know, be comfortable and sit down to do now. And Nancy Wilson came back is it would you guys mind? If I sung a few more tunes. Hell, no. Song? My mother and father together. There was always music. Now, my mother like operas she liked the modern, but modern Madam butterfly. My father would play calypso, Harry Belafonte and Barbara Streisand and Nancy Wilson. And that was a single, man. The thing anything. Years old you had a good life. And I didn't realize I forgot he had the Nancy Wilson show on TV than sixty sixty seven sixty eight. I didn't even realize it. I knew she acted in a lot of. TV shows, but it was worth going. It was it was worth Phyllis Hyman being late. So get a little more. Nancy Wilson always always remember that. Som. On the other side of the glass. How are you doing tonight, sir? Doing pretty good. How you doing Tony? All right looking the jets this afternoon short night tonight from twelve to to give or take betting on the second game. Which is the Broncos and the Browns following that tonight. Yeah. It's been it's been a kind of a wild week. You know, you saw the the patriots losing on that ladder on Sunday. I still can't stop laughing. It's one of the most the most hilarious things. I've seen bell Texas. Don't know what to do with him. So. The Steelers falling apart to that was also another chuckle, but a lot of stuff Tuesday. I was I think I was waiting in line to get a to go get dinner at beat up said I saw they were they were playing some of the the Buster Douglas documentary. Oh, yeah. That was that was very good. It was good. I mean, all those thirty for thirty s a good. But my question for you is it like did anyone really like no that Buster Douglas. Let's go to Pete was was a good boxer going into or did everyone just says, oh, he's just fodder for Tyson because they're trying to sell out the Tokyo dome. A little bit of both. I mean, we he's he's a good short term fighter. He's always run out of. I mean before Tony Tucker for the IBM Thailand, he was winning. He just ran out of gas. He just lost in the line in in the document would donkeys that I picked him because he's a dog. Like. We didn't expect anything out of him. But he was what happens sometimes when you get in shape, and maybe opponents down in the best shape, and he had the night of his life. And then the next fight. Doc doubt by by van Holyfield? Now was it. So it was I still remember I wanna spookiest moment. I remember it's coming at fight and bunch of us went out to some bar. And I just had the feeling that someone was looking at me, and I'm like, and I turned around and is Holyfield crown heavyweight champ of the world. Just in the corner by himself. Chevy champion, you've got an entourage. And all you. Tony's hanging out with you. He was just I guess he was on the prowl. He was by himself. But you've just but it wasn't. You know, wasn't with people wasn't. You know, mingling with the with the crowd, and we came over to talk to us and people. So it was but it was funny. It was a standard for awhile. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six. That's our toll free line was anytime anywhere. Download the radio dot com app. Today's like I said, we'll talk to Ricky Ricardo at four o'clock. And we're here to five thirty tonight NFL preview in back tonight. After the Browns the Broncos around midnight or midnight to two let's go to Kevin and kopecks dot the program. Kevin you're on the fan. Hey, doing Tony hotbed. How are you? Good. How the Knicks finally beat Michael Jordan. How about that? Did you see how he smacked the Maliki monk, and it was playful on when he ran on the court with the guys I can see why it's like a father being mad at your kids. It's like, dude, you know, you're not supposed to go on the court. What happens around the court? You know? That was great. But what the Knicks? I mean, they just keep falling way behind the comeback team. Now, finding the two teams the nets for a while just didn't know how to close the show. I mean, they they they had to lead late and couldn't couldn't. Close the gap or hold onto the lead. And the Knicks go too deep hole and they spend half the game trying to dig out on a whole. And that's that's no that's not. That's not the coach. That's the place. You gotta be more. You know, more aggressive and not make so many mistakes early. The tale of two boroughs. My moody. I mean people want him instead of porzingas. I mean, he was like a well coveted prospect back in the day was and you know, it didn't do well in Denver. And there was nothing. Really write home about him last year. And I didn't expect him to I thought they might cut him at some point this year. But now, it's you know, he's he's you know, he's he's the man right now, he's playing real well, I like it more than than Hardaway right now. Because Hardaway just shoots all the time. And then I'll Luc cornet recon reminds me of Steve Novak. Play defense who blocked shots. Yeah. And you know, another seven footer would have three. I mean, that's that's that's the game. We're going. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's what's that's why it's so hard to move. Kanter. I mean gig. He's a double double machine, but you know, how many guys want to set up a low post offense around him. Did you hear about the trade that wasn't tonight? The wizards. Mishap? They thought they were getting Dillon Brooks. But they were getting Marshon Brooks. So they were like wrong don't want him, and that costs that changed the whole deal. All right, man. Yeah. That was that was funny. And you know, how do you how do you messed that up? So we want we want Iran. Okay. Well, he's in a trade. So you so you want Albert Rodriguez? No. How do you? How do you get that straight? Nobody. Nobody works in a vacuum. You know, the staff is working on it. I don't understand. I remember woman was working in marketing that I knew she was supposed they want her to do a presentation on Gaylord Perry. And she got a wise course, and she's doing she's doing the thing on Jim Perry. His brother. Why are we talking about him? And then it just for you. You can imagine what happened from then on. Let's go to Bobby in LeBron's, Bobby. What's up? Pay you, sir? What's going on? Okay. Before I get to the Mets. I gotta give out some condolences. Okay. First and foremost, I have to give. A big condolences to the matriarch of this time benef- family as JoAnne Steinbrenner. Spell joanne. Right. A and I have a wonderful memory of of, you know, there have been a lotta Yankees have come and gone through the organization, but she didn't have a favorite and a favorite Yankee more willy Rangel. And there were times when George Steinbrenner would watch a Yankee game and Willie would make an error or you know, he wasn't hitting. And MRs Steinbrenner will always look to say, look, I know what you're thinking. But you better not mess with my. That is my memory of Joan Steinbrenner, and certainly a musical legend miss. Nancy will absolutely yes. Fancy miss Nancy was wondering nickname fan. Let me tell you something. She had a voice as smooth as butter, and I have a favorite song because she had a lot of nice songs. My favorite was a song called faith a girl. But those Nancy Wilson fans out there. It'll never be over. Because the love of Nancy Wilson will live on forever. Absolutely. Absolutely. Let me get to them. I don't know if you heard, but there is a plan b. Oh. Yes. A plan in case the Mets do not get real. And you know, what crampy who's at grand Granddad? Right now that the Mets might want to acquire his services. Now, here's my question to you, Mr. page now, you know, he's very good. But very poor defensively. Yep. Now, what you actually think of having Granville as a piece of the puzzle for catcher or so or would you have someone else? And thank you for taking my call. I would it depends on what else they do. If if if they would've gave Machado, which they're not gonna get, but they can pick up another bat I can go with a catcher who doesn't hit that much control the the running game. That's what you want. You always talking about strength up the middle catcher, short second and centerfield. And that's what I'm looking for. Because you know, Grondahl we saw you know, he was so poor. They sat him down. Now. Know, it's the timing is bad to have bad performance. Is that in the playoffs when everybody's watching? And you're you know, you're looking for a new contract and people like, no, no, no. But let's put it this way. The catches they have on exactly, you know, offensive juggernauts, and it'd be an upgrade. But I really would like that. I liked that catcher who throws behind the runner at first. You know, keeps it honest. That's what I'm looking for and control the pitching staff. Let's go to Carlo and Kings Park. Carla. What's going on? Doing all right, man. What's up? The actions from jets have tour. I don't know about you. But. Machado was just drive me up a wall. He doesn't want to run to first base. It's not as big. But apparently to get twenty five million dollars a year. That's an is though he might hustle every now and then now. Yeah, exactly, Tony. I mean, this is ridiculous. I mean, and I have to hear well, it might have to give up they might have to cope and you're now. You know, anything the kid is just starting out, and guess what? The kid hustles. Yeah. Take take a guy that hustles anytime because this guy this guy Machado. I hate to say it. He might be another Avon. As far as as far, as you know, if he doesn't want to you know, if there's one a move and stuff like that, guess what you're getting paid move. You said you want to come to the Yankees rod one of your your mentor, so era did the same thing. Exactly. What's going to happen? He's gonna take number thirteen. Of course, of course. And enough for anything, Tony how you feel. But if I'm the Yankees my rotation is set right now. They might they might another pitcher because you can never have enough pitching. But I would get Daniel Murphy. Oh, yeah. The concept. Tony the man makes contact thing about him, and and and and do heart..

"Pain. And one of my favorite Christmas songs, quite honestly, Nancy Williams. Nancy wilson. And that's what I want for Christmas. She passed away today at the age of Eighty-one Nancy Wilson, not the Nancy Wilson of heart fame. Nancy Wilson, the jazz singer, a Grammy award winning song, stylist and torch singer. Her polished pop jazz vocals, made her a platinum artists and Tom concert performer. She retired from touring in twenty eleven and has passed away after a long illness at her home in pioneer town, California near the Joshua tree national park, her manager and publicists told the Associated Press. That she had passed away at the age of Eighty-one influenced by Dinah, Washington, NAT king Cole and others Wilson covered everything from jazz standards to little green apples and in the nineteen sixties alone released eight albums that reached the top twenty on the pop charts. Sometimes elegant and understated or quick and conversational and a little naughty. She was best known for such songs as guess who. I saw today, and you don't know how glad I am which drew upon Broadway. Pop and jazz. She resisted being identified as a jazz singer and referred to herself as a song stylist, and in my favorite was that's what I want for Christmas, which I think she released in nineteen fifty seven. Maybe earlier than that maybe nineteen fifty four. Anyway, Nancy Wilson jazz singer has passed away at the age of Eighty-one. Now, I say the jazz singer because you singer Nancy Wilson, you think of one of the members of heart that Nancy Wilson well that Nancy Wilson of heart fame said she was saddened. She said she knew of the jazz singer Nancy Wilson, and would sometimes even get get her mail and sometimes get the other Nancy Wilson's picture place in publicity for a concert that Nancy Wilson of heart was to perform. So they obscene. I don't know if the other Nancy Wilson knew of the heart version of Nancy Wilson, but I'm sad to hear that she's passed away. And then also we we learned today that actress and director Sandra lock has passed away. Now. This is what's confusing to me because evidently Sondra Locke who you know, from a lot of the Clint Eastwood movies. Actually passed away November third in Los Angeles due to cardiac arrest stemming from breast and bone cancer. She was seventy four you. Remember, Sandra lock because she starred in a lot of Clint Eastwood movies, in fact for a while. I think Clint Eastwood wanted her in every movie she had a long and pretty hot fling with Clint Eastwood, but he never married her and. She also, and this I bet you didn't know got her career started in one thousand nine hundred sixty eight in a movie called the heart is a lonely hunter. And in it. She played a teenage was about twenty one at the time. But she played a teenager whose family takes in Alan Arkham who plays a deaf man as a border. And this relationship not a romantic relationship, but more of a a relationship of a young girl and a mentor develop between this deaf, man. Alan Arkin, I think was nominated for an Oscar. And so was Sandra lock I think Alan Arkin won that year. But it's a pretty good movie. If you go back and see the heart is a lonely hunter them Sondra Locke was known with all the stuff. She did with Clint Eastwood with whom she was involved for thirteen years, the outlaw Josey Wales any which way but loose any which way you can. And then sudden impact was the final movie they did together she won raves for a roll along with nominations for Golden Globe. And oscar. And her career would mirror Clint Eastwood's for several years. The pairs hit films. Also included the street fighting comedy, every which way you can any which way but loose. She played. Oh, this was a good role. She played I don't know if you ever saw her in the TV movie where she did the Rosemary Clooney story. And she directed the nineteen eighty six film rat boy, which by the way flopped, but her charming life came to an end as Eastwood broke up with her. She later wrote the locks were changed and her things were placed outside the home. She thought had been gifted to her by Clint Eastwood. She sued Eastwood for palimony and then later sued him for fraud, saying the movie development deal. He had arranged for her was a sham the following year. She released a memoir, titled the good.

"Wilson was a consummate performer, and what I mean by that is you could have a two hour Nancy Wilson concert, and all you need is her voice, a microphone and a piano. That's it. No auto tune no elaborate big band behind her. Even though she could sing in front of one. Because her voice was so pristine, so pure so clear in terms of her lyrics in many ways, she was without equal. I remember when I was working for the Grammy awards in the mid ninety s and I was working in the awards function. They're different parts of of the Grammys the National Academy of Recording Arts and sciences. But I specifically was working in the awards process. And my job for win this show approach was ticketing and for the Grammy awards. I don't know how it is now. But back then this is right around the advent of the internet everyone had to pick up their tickets. You couldn't have someone pick it up for you. Couldn't have your system come pick it up. If the ticket was for Nancy Wilson, Nancy Wilson had to come in show her ID and pick up her ticket. So I had the luxury of seeing all these people if they weren't performing in the live televised portion of the TV show. They would have to come to our offices and pick up there. Your tickets are occasions where people like Little Richard will come in Nancy Wilson. Right, Kerry, whatever not to namedrop, but it gave me a window into who these people were personally when you get to see them either without their makeup their hair down as they say when they're just being regular people. You get a true sense of who the genuine people are Nancy Wilson who I've met a number of times over the years. Probably arguably is one of the nicest people have ever met in this business, and it's not really close. Sometimes we wanna heaped praises on people. Just because they pass many times undeserved. Not the case here. Not the case. I've been around Nancy Wilson. Maybe a half dozen times every single time. She makes you feel like she is your family member. Your grandmother wants to know how you are doing. And that's a rare thing in this business. And whenever I think of Nancy Wilson, I think of two songs specifically, and I'm gonna play a good portion of them because I want you to hear how she pretty much will blow away anybody that you hear on radio today when he try to strip out all those vocal gymnastics and that over processing when they try to hide someone's vocals, this is how you know when someone truly can sink, and she would call herself a song stylist, not a singer. And she would correct you if you call her a singer or just a performer, but obviously one of my favorites is our very first hit guess who. I saw today. Yes..

What there was for a while? There was a little contentious with questions about rules and regulations and who is allowed downtown parts of things. And who wasn't? I haven't heard much about that sense. But no, I I like the the the food truck scene here. I think that part of the the issue is is that this is still a place where you can afford to open a restaurant. And so because of that you don't see as many food trucks as.

"House of House of Lies lies, and he's yeah, he's just shooting randomly and it's an amazing. Yes, just a commentary on the culture today and it's just amazingly done. And what's his name that country guy Stapleton? Oh Chris Stapleton love him. He's just pure you know for country love anything Vince Gill ever touches. That's too he's a credible job. Like that old CMT those old country music. Yes. I didn't I'm Jewish. I can't really watch that. They won't even let me on yeah, it won't let you know. I'm like, oh Semitic alert right now. How much of like the this with the new band with how much do you write personally? Well with the new band me and the the band wrote everything on the new album except for a couple of Heart songs. We covered. Okay, we redid like these dreams this one and straight. Oh, no, we didn't put straight on I love it was Faith even in a folder and and I seen that lead on that one for for the road case album. Oh, that's amazing. My mom when I was when all I want to do very close to home. We started learning that one to my mom who is like yeah Mom. Yeah. She's very uppity. Yeah, Texas big hair big jewelry is a prettier Barbara birth. I know that Mom your mom and she was when so when that song came on. My mom was like I love this new song of implant and I'm like, oh, what is it? I don't know. Yeah, she couldn't even get me. So we're in the car like I'm going to mall or something and it comes on and she's like got twiddling her thumbs like on the steering wheel package. I was like, do you know what the songs about though? Cuz my mom's like real permanent properly. I don't think she was listening to the lyrics that like, I'm like, you know, there's a person that's trying to get so he's like off she thought she had no idea. I had a great kind of perfect. I had a moment like this. So when my daughter my daughter Lily was in gymnastics, and she was probably like at the time fourteen with her fourteen-year-old from all the back of my car and that song Flo Rida song came on called Whistle and they're all singing it and like I said, oh, yeah, I love this thing. I'm turning it up and Midway throw Iraq. Lies this songs about blowjobs. The entire song is about blow job and and my fourteen-year-old and all her friends. I they know what's around look. Yeah. Yeah, we turn this off now. Oh, you know, like you said Flo Rida, by the way, I just like you saying Flo Rida was good to Florida. I know that's what I thought you probably would have said, you know that Florida film, you know that Florida Feller off when all I want to do came out. Yeah, but it first came out. It was a mutt Lang po Pano fans. So many. Yes, Shania Hanson and Def Leppard for Thursday, but we changed the gender in Saw around so that the stories the woman picking up a stray man. Oh really in the rain, you know. Oh that's and wage thing. They make love, you know, like strangers and they found in a hotel and she yeah, it was a place she knew well, you know, and they banned just in Ireland wage. I really can't it in Ireland. I was like because you were like somebody just getting a once a woman. You know that having random sex became a strange man. Wow, how many strings before that? Yeah been reversed. Yes usual way. Yeah, it probably would just make no difference. You know. Well, I was I was going to stand. Lady like I was right like, you know, like doing a stupid of course is what I'm saying. Well you like listening to song lyrics Sometimes women have your lunches you don't like your singing along with the song that you've known your whole life. And then if you really stop and think you're like good makes sense like that song. I've been listening this for a while. I actually did this in my stand-up. I'm like salt and pepper. What a man. Yeah, you know, everybody knows the lyrics there. There's a there's a little bit says he spends quality time with his kids when he can wage. Oh, wow. What do you think winning? And I was like there was a song that was like so weird that said she spends quality time with her kids when she can get the kids out of that house off. Protective Services get yourself kicked out. I don't know what it is a knock-knock, I always kind of love that Joan. Jett never came that was like a pre-emptive but he spends quality guess we're kind of proud. You know, we were kind of proud it was banned because it made us feel more rock about everything a badge of honor. Yeah. I always like the Joan Jett never changed genders when she covered things. You know, what you did Crimson and Clover song. It's like you never see. I don't even know her and you know, it was like, oh, what are you saying? I was listening to some old John Sebastian songs from recently and I kind of noticed the same thing like there's stuff that you wouldn't have thought at the time like a younger girl keeps a Rollin cross my mind no matter how hard I try it seemed, you know, she'd never been in trouble or even in town, you know, like there was one that was like young know as I said for you is way yo change my birth. Jenny played me that video and we should put that video on you know, when I was like you were with all the drunks of a long it would just a baby and these guys get out of here. I know you all the time. I change my mind girl. Okay, you really know what I did not realize it cuz I remember hearing that so I was like very young. I was like, yeah young girl and that's all I know but no it's basically the the working title song is your 14 and I want to fuck you. You should leave it's like and I know it's wrong, you know, yeah. Yeah. Well, you can basically I'm going to rape you. You should leave I don't even trouble. Okay about the lyrics to this is when I also got me I was listening and I love the song but Alannah Myles Black Velvet, right? Yep. A little bit of that little boys black velvet slow southern style a new religion that'll bring you to your knees Black Velvet if you believe what the fuck does that mean? What is it? I don't know. I bet she can make any never really knew either but just my lyrics and like everyone loves the song Ice English it out. It's butt sex, right? Otherwise Color Me Badd or is it I woke you up. Yeah well and we can do it till we both wake up. Well, I remember like what Bill Cosby Show like who the hell was wrong? But I remember my parents and a lot of the people in my neighborhood. This is like the mid-seventies got super into a disco so they were very into disco and I'll never forget I was at a party with them with like all the kids were like when they and they're like some of the parents had taken like dancing lessons and they seemed so old they're probably like twenty fifteen years younger than I am now, but I remember like Donna Summer's Love to Love You Baby Baby was on and it was like the worst thing it's like I remember talking to my friend. Kenny was his parents were there. It's okay..
