Hey, Josh, when you leave the studio, be careful. Don't trip on any of these names. Only dropping. Okay? Everyone knows Milton Griff from my two. That's it. It's not Darryl Griffin. That's great, ERM II get goofy around those two guys. So, um, uh, milk, remember, I wouldn't let him do any warm of shots. And I said on the last shot, I'm literally I'm going to pass you the ball count down and you've got to shoot a three. I didn't give him any warm ups. He didn't do any warm ups. So on live TV. I said three to say, Well, it's going to do it now throwing the ball three pointer. I said 3 to 1. It was a rainbow and there was no rim and it was black. His Milt Wagner dropping. I started just jumping up and down. It was so funny. I remember watching you and that 80 16 when it all came down to Milt Wagner at the line with time on the clock, but getting back to the 1980 16. How close are you on? How How did you all stay in contact with each other? Because I would. I would think that if you go that far in a Nancy W tournament and you win a national title. That forms a bond of friendship. Uh, that never goes away. Do you all keep in contact with each other? 100% I'm okay. Hot Works. 80 Championship team. Roger Berkman is the glue. He's the one that screams out all the text. The zoom calls the emails 80 16. I do the same thing, And I will say this last Friday, the 86. 80 team with the coach crumbs solid. Wow, that was bad ass. Oh, it was phenomenal man and Billy Thompson couldn't make it is his wife's birthday. And I mean, he sent unbelievable message to Coach Crumb video. That was pretty strong, and it was Susan and coach. And their family. They put they put a heck of a night together. Wade Houston coach Jones. Everybody was there in a coach Crumb has a vicious They have to put a muzzle on, man. And if you go anywhere near Coach Crumb muzzle or not, you're done. Sounds familiar twice out. I'm gonna tell you the brothers we don't We don't really care about dogs anyway. So Coach had no problem being away from us. We were 15 20 ft away from him. This dog is this dog is vicious. Hey, Robbie. It's the same thing with me when we have company and a woman starts to come towards me and my wife just tears into her, alright, It's unbelievable. So no. What I and I tweeted out the picture of Coach Jones and Danny. They were sitting next to each other and I said these two guys built it all. And I love I love what Tom and everyone else did. And Rick, you know, with the rebirth of basketball, but you don't get Schnellenberger without Danny. You don't get the football stadium without Schnellenberger, which you don't do without Danny. You don't pay for all that without you guys. Building the foundation of a little school off Floyd Street into what it is today, but the foundation will. It was laid by you guys and paid for by. You guys have a curiosity Robbie the night before the tournament. Is it difficult to sleep knowing that? Hey, the next night we're playing for a national championship because, dude, by the way, so I mean, it's a pretty big deal. How do you think any sleep that night? I would have butterflies and my mind racing is the difficulty It is, but not Wagner's. My roommates are couldn't sleep anyway. He he, You know, he's a God had to get a bunch of tickets and family and all of that, and You know, so it was difficult anyway, but he had a horrible first half and came back the second half. And he hated that. Not that free throw down to win. The national champs have helped do but but, you know, to be honest with you. No, it's different now because the kids at Social Media Um, you know, we talked about this all the time. Me and the guys. I wonder what it was would be like if we had social media because As many people they got word out about little basketball without social media is pretty pretty interesting. Now. These kids haven't make a tweet out. They're gonna be in church use on a Tuesday night and, you know, they said that out Monday and it's It's just interesting. What difference Itwas, you know, sixties eighties, you know, here it is 2021. It's just a different different feel. Well, I, for one am grateful that social media and camera phones were not around and my my youth, But I want to talk about the kids for a second. We were talking about your national champions. You work with kids in Louisville in southern Indiana. Ah, lot. How gratifying is it to see a child come through your camp, And then years later, you see him on ABC, NBC, CBS playing Ah, college basketball and then you know, moving on even It's It's a real over 15,000 kids go have gone through my camp. This is my 35th anniversary of clinics and, uh, you know, the very first camp idea was Wiley Brown. Is there no high school in 1986 with 50 kids? And it's a real, You know, I get a chance to do two weeks that young when we could southern Indiana, But we got a big announcement on the seventh. That, um, with come with Credit Union and Junior Bridgeman, Alice Houston, wait, Houston. Pepsi. We're going to a camp just for the kids. In the West and south and the Louisville they those kids have gone through hell with Kovar 19 and been able Those Children are going to be able to have a camp before days. Um at the camp, See Yum Center. From educational social perspective. Those kids were lost, and we want to give those parents of single parents. On the kids. Ah, week at the young on that Thursday night, when a camp in We're gonna go a big celebration on Pepsi claws outside the young with a DJ and and connect them with the police and fired and let them you know, I'm a fan of police. Don't want the kids understand that. You know 99.9 police officers. They're safe. They're fun on day. So that's the connection I want to try to make and let the kids know educationally..

"And now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bucky brooks. What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks. Dj bucky back with you. Buck how you doing ma'am ma'am good. Everything is good like a just finished top five list and going through everything. And you know it's kinda crazy because you look at guys but then when you go back the second time around look sometimes you're defying see things that maybe just overlooked. Maybe you're tired. Me was the end of the night. Or whatever so is really fun and cluster. Buster debut trying to try to stack and organiz figure out like who's next who's next in kind of like nancy w tournament for know but it's been good things are good. Is this up now by the way. Where can we find this not just just admitted to be up sometime this week but as you know what your top fifty. Five's there's a lot that go into it because like you think meringue it's fifty but you have to look at like kinda like stop sending five one hundred. Let me ask you the question. That that i know everybody. That's listening. wants to know that you did you weenie out and do ties or is this a sort of i don't do top five can't believe in china so don't believe i used to give me a hard time about that. Mike have like three guys tied for fifth. But you can't do that. No i did think about adding like outside of his outside the bubble. But i didn't wanna. I didn't want to didn't want to put that in there because it's weird because the positions at linebacker. Dj are weird. Because now you have edge of linebacker. And i'm like you still need inside and outside linebacker. So many guys outside linebacker could be the edge category. So i kind of it as a way to put. I know he's not outside linebacker. Yeah but i'm trying to get the names out there so people don't think we're where's x y and z. No i got. I see how you're cheating it. Now you're going to go outside receivers tied and i see how it is. I guess you only one linebackers. The only one we're have inside outside linebackers and then the deans and the edge players are altogether is weird because we talked about position this ball. I don't kind of to kind of figure that thing out over over the last couple of years. I got to the point where i just made it. I just have in the positions. I just have edge and then just linebacker so anybody. That's off the ball. I would just grab them as a linebacker anyway. Okay scrimmage was an edge guy so even as sam that's a walked over a tight end just kind of listed him as an as an edge guy. So what's interesting about doing it that way because then you have the thing with like mike. Parsons plays one way. Yeah core more. Plays another one. Like he's way outside is only about fifty pounds difference in those guys. I didn't necessarily want to put those guys in the same category..

daniel jeremiah bucky brooks sam fifty Mike Parsons fifth three guys one hundred mike china Five second time this week one way last couple of years about fifty pounds one linebackers Buck five

"Up. We've hit the NFL hard. Get the master is hard Stocks in college basketball. We're joined right now by a college basketball insider for CBS Sports host of the college Hoops today, podcast. Also in front of program. He is John Rothstein, man. John, What's going on? How are you? Never better. Romi. Great to be with you. Good to have you, John. Great to have you here. All right, so a lot going on the blade. John announced this morning that the tournament and CW tournament will be held in one location and that they are in talks with the city of Indianapolis, the host the entire 68 team event there. First of all, what is your initial reaction to that news? Proactive planning is always better than reactive planning, Jim and you have to sit your captain Dan Gavin and everybody the NC double A for this. We know that we're in uncharted territory. We know that we're in a once in a century type global pandemic. Now we're in a situation where we have a plan. And after just hanging up on a call with Dan Garrett He made it very, very clear. Then once the team heads to that area, where the NC double a terminus hold and the NC, double A's and endeavoring to lock up, according to gather the city of Indianapolis as that host city by January, 1st. Once a team travels to that city, it will not be permitted to leave until that team is eliminated from the NCWO tournament. John Rothstein is joining us. John. The tournament has been scheduled to start in Dayton on March 16th and 17th. Do you still expected to start at that time? Or could you see it moving back at some point? You know, one of the things that's interesting. Jamie's Dan Gavitt said that you know, because of the different protocols that have to be in place in order to successfully pull off a tournament in a short period of time. The calendar may not be the same for March. Madness as it normally is. It's an in perfect year. It's an in perfect season, but the bottom line is this Jim at the end of the day, and I know I might be the perennial optimist. We see so many people so coming to the negativity that goes on in our world today because of obviously everything that is going on in our world today, But it is time like this. You have to look at the positive or their programs shut down in college basketball. Did a covert 19. Absolutely. Did the Ivy League cancel one of sport's last week to the cova 19? Absolutely. But the facts of the fact. Over 90% of the Vision. One programs, as of today are up and running, and the facts of the facts. There's gonna be set back. There's going to be cancelation, but we're having a college basketball season and we're having an NC double a tournament. If that doesn't get you excited, seven days a week and twice on Sunday, I don't know what does John Ross Dean joining us here here this don't wanna get into the season in a moment and what it's gonna look like and what it's gonna feel like Just one last thought about last year, though, if you were to go back to march and the announcement that the 2020 and suitable a tournament had been canceled. I mean, John, you are upbeat. You are positive. You are energetic, but how surreal was it not to have March madness. It was unfathomable. And you know me pretty well, Jim, you know, I'm a big food guy I felt for 11 months I was working on baking the ultimate cake and I had mixed it and I had iced it and I sampled the flavor a little bit. And then somebody all of a sudden, cold may you can't have dessert. And no doubt, no doubt. So what about from your conversations with college coaches and players? They were working that same cake from the people you spoke to within? What was the experience like for them? Well, I think you know the ironic thing last season that stood out maybe more so than past seasons that you know we've obviously had. Nancy doubles tournament is last year, you had a scenario where three of the top eight seeds that were projected for the NC double a tournament We're from non power conferences. Gonzaga was expected to be a one Dayton was expected to be a one and San Diego State was probably expected to be a two. You know, Jim, the seasons that we saw as dating and San Diego State last season may not be replicated again. In the history of the basketball programs, and that's one of the things I think made the pill a little bit harder to swallow for programs like that, especially if we're starting Seymour and Maura. College basketball. The separation And between the power conferences in the non power conferences. So I think that was the thing that lasted a little bit longer with me that in a program like a bailer that hasn't been well Final four under Scott's room, but has been to an elite eight and 2010 and has been through an elite eight and 2012 but didn't break through to the Final four. They don't get an opportunity to punch their ticket, and obviously it felt like Seton Hall. With miles power was set up to go to the Final four for the first time since PJ Carlesimo took the Pirates there in 1989 Remember, Seton Hall was set up to be a high speed the East region that would have meant The first two rounds in Albany and then the hopefully for their stake the 3rd and 4th round at Madison Square Garden. But Jim will never know. Mentioned. PJ Carlesimo. I think about Andrew Gaze back in the day, just lightening up John Ross teen joining us shot so amazing. Like when you mentioned Gonzaga, if we were to take a step back for a minute, I mean, really think about this. Gonzaga's number one of the preseason AP poll. And on the one hand the fact that their preseason number one, It's not a surprise because they've been so good John for so long. On the other hand, how crazy is it that we're talking about? A program that has been built the way it has, and that a team from the W. C C is the number one team in the country even after losing the conference player of the year. It's unfathomable. And I personally, you know, putting zag down a couple of pegs because I know just how good Philip Obtrusive was..

"And if you have Alexa, Google home, just say play WFAN and you'll be locked into the fans. So it was a while Monday college basketball for Jinya cuts down and Ed stay win in overtime over Texas Tech like Chris and on the switch Saint John's, and it looks like they will be in the market for new head coach, I say, let's have a good. Powell on you, see them all the time over that said why he's doing some great work for Fox Sports. One did some Saint John's broadcast is well my good pal Vinnie Parisi joins us on the fan. What's out Vinnie? Did you what's up brother? It's a long time till November. But this might be the best ornament as a whole. We have a covered. Unbelievable. Oh, you can't van and after the first days Thursday and Friday went out particularly good after that from the Duke UCF game, you'd think about LSU in Maryland, you think about all four dozy lead eight games living up to the billing. And then of course, it's Virginia. And what story live for Virginia? When you think about it last year? They have the embarrassment. Humiliation of losing a sixteenth seed to come back to following you VIN winning national championship and do so with three straight you Matic victories. Unbelievable stuff. They it's something written out of a movie, and and then the storyline. Lines within the storylines JJ. I mean, when you look at the fact that you know, Tony Bennett handled adversity last year in handled this loss. I mean, you know, they should make an instructional DVD out of. It's all young coaches in the business truly is. And you know, obviously, a great guy and a man of faith. But it's it's how he got his team back to work, you know, beyond the perspective in the off season. And you know, and then you look at his guys. I mean, it's not like he ever win for the one in done. It's not like he's ever. You know, you know, competed head to head with Calipari and Kentucky for kids, and I'm just gonna I'm gonna bring up a local kid who I know. Well tied Jerome, you know from nurse shell. And and I own a prep, or you know, in my neck of the woods. And this is a kid that was told, you know, he was he was he was more of an Atlantic ten player. He's he's not big enough. He's not fast enough for the next level. This kid just had thirty seven points. Seventeen rebounds, fourteen to six in the final four and Tony Bennett develop skies and Virginia just has dominated probably JJ quietest one seat, you know, you could have looked at coming into this. And I realized that you NBC factor from last year, but this team is thirty three and three NEC play the last two seasons. So it was nice to see them reap. These rewards thing about it is dominant as they've been in the regular season. There's always been this knock on Virginia canes score their style. Play won't translate Nancy w tournament. Full disclosure. I believe a lot of those stories. That's certainly believed it last year when they lost to you MBC. You know wonder little change for me when I went to carry a Delvin, and they didn't miss a shot against their accuse and they weren't just off the short shooting like the Golden State Warriors. I think they will like seventeen and twenty four from three in that game from guide to Rome. The hunter they could not miss that was when I said, you know, what maybe it's going to be different for Virginia. And you know, this you gotta have some walk along the way if you want to win this game, and may have gone a lot of good walk. You think about all threes wins the Purdue win the allburn questionable? Call with the double triple and then the foul on college guy and in this game against Texas Tech. I mean, it's going to get lost in the shuffle. They went down three with fifteen seconds to play. Oh, unbelievable. But you know, what? I mean, look at Texas Tech. If you know Mooney doesn't hit those three straight threes in the second half of the final four look at Michigan state. I mean, that's what makes us tournaments. So great, but you have to write as well as you have to play in this thing. You know, you need a few bounces along the way, but, you know, the stage as since election Sunday, you know, I I've been on the Virginia bandwagon, and they were might pick right from the start to win it all because if you watch this team all season long. It wasn't just. Your typical Tony Bennett. Walk it up using the entire shot. Cox me points. They scored last night against probably the best half court defense that we saw this year in college basketball, especially the last month of the season. And this is the best shooting team that Tony Bennett ever had and really just a fun group that cover the green Parisi my good pal. Check them out as to why Fox Sports won the tournament is coming gun. And then I'm curious now because Bennett said success keeping guys for an extended period of time. Jay Wright has had success keeping guys for a long period of time. Do you think now with the changes that are coming in college basketball? A we're going to start to see the blue bloods. And I'm talking to can I'm talking I don't even want to say Kentucky because they never going to die from this strategy until they actually have to but these big bed programs in the sport. We know Kane do has gotten away from having guys day at three or four years. You think that's going to change? No. You know what? I this sounds crazy. But I think even like winning national championship like this. I still think Virginia's gonna be Virginia and Duke and Kentucky is going to be Duke and Kentucky. I, you know. I I don't believe blue bloods, you know, get knocked off the stage early. And I don't think it's tough to. I don't think it's very easy. You know to get yourself a blue bloods area code. You know, I still think Virginia's of the world got to go. Find those you know, solid four year players that you know, work within their system. And and then I just think that the dukes and the Kentucky's and other programs, you know, are able to just you know, they're built more for the one in done. They've built more for the star to come in give him the ball takeover. I mean, even teams like in Zakho nowadays have lottery picks. So it's you know, the the talented out there. It's just more. You know what? What is your entire program in situation? Look like, and you know, are you built for March success village? Get to Saint John's amazing. You're getting ready to start a championship game. All fired up. I got the TV set up championship game on one the Yankees, which cursing later on tonight on the other. And I get the report from Rothstein at around. I don't know eight thirty forty five night that Chris Mullin out at Saint John's two days earlier ST John's came out and said he's head coach surprise where you with that report that Moee most likely not going to be coaching his team next year. Yeah. I'm I'm blown away in shock the JJ. And you don't let me work close to it. And and I'm close to it and covering the team. And and the staff, you know, Mike crag was out in Minneapolis. So, you know, he he was separated from Saint John's you'd be separated from the coaching staff, and and he was giving statements like, listen guys. There's does. Coaching search going on right now? Chris Mullin coach, he's our coach. And now looking for a new coach, you know, we're just in a we're.

At least fifteen thanks so much for sure you're listening in West Virginia you want to join us live one eight five five two two four CBS. His tech the best defensive team you've ever seen in the NC double A tournament. If not the red raiders, then who? And then you heard the official Vinnie who trains officials from New Jersey. Should officials be able to review everything in the final two minutes. And I like a epicenter where for big games and agree with him. You don't have to do it forever regular season game. But maybe in your conference tournament Nancy NCWA tournament. You have a a center was screen, set buzzes. It. Most of these conferences now have TV networks. He could have a sweet or an area where to officials are looking at it fischel misses something they can buzz in stop play. And maybe limited. Maybe coach gets a replay. I don't like replay baseball. I think it's horrible. How they wait. They call. They put their hands up. You know baseball the replays should happen. Then a last two innings. That's one replay NHL gets right. And got it. Right. "He is giving us the straight talk. Brought by straight talk wireless. Best phones. Best networks, no contracts. This whole Kristaps Porzingis situation. I don't know how many layers we're going to get that's really immature. Let me right now. Because it's going to be a he said, she said situation, and so many people weighing in when it comes to the Knicks in the NBA how much really treacherous ground could this be for them. In addition. Kristaps Porzingis, no player new organization. Whether it's the Knicks are Dallas want to be in this position have a player in his position. And certainly, I know there's been some speculation that possibility of charges being filed played into the Knicks trade Porzingis to Dallas. I don't believe that's the case. I think if Kristaps Porzingis had come in and said to them. I wanna be here. I see my future in New York. I think he would have signed a max extension the summer just the opposite came in and said the opposite. The team was anti dissipating that that's where he was headed with this. And they had that trade with Dallas, not quite cute up, but they had laid some ground work with it. So I don't believe it's the reason they moved him and the organization certainly in Bob, you saw they can in some of my reporting earlier today there had been correspondence between the woman and the Knicks, and we reported on some of the Email conversations and a summary of some of the phone camera phone conversation she had with their legal team that went out over a couple of weeks. And then the team essentially told her we're turning this over Kristaps he's got legal counsel. Now, we are speaking on his behalf in this. And the Knicks for their part were out of this and Kristaps is legal team took took it on from there. The Knicks doing the what I call the pass the buck. Theory saying he's no longer part about organization. This is his personal deal. This between him the Dallas Mavericks and the lady in question. But at the same time with this organization was there anything else they could have said or done because no matter of the Knicks have said is still gonna look as a bad. Look like, they're hiding something. What went on before you decided to ask what trade and get his way out of New York? Well, in fairness to the Knicks there had been no charges filed. She had not gone to the police as far as I know she had gone to the Knicks, and you see it in the Email correspondence, she believed or she alleges alleged that she had a a contract contractual agreement with Porzingis the pay her sixty eight thousand dollars toward what she said. We're her her brothers college tuition. She was not getting anywhere with him. She went to the organization and wanted them to essentially mediate and help her get that and that led nowhere either. So I think the organization at that point. There were no charges. But at that point Porzingis went to the FBI went to the league office, inform them to them, and what they alleged that point forward was that it had become an extortion situation that was their view of it and they alerted Donnelly federal authorities, but they went to the league office and registered that information with them. And and just really is the Knicks had become aware of it. They went to the league pretty quickly after that ESPN MBA inside agent rows and rows ski in studio with me, Freddie. Coleman of Freddie and Fitz on ESPN radio not trying to bypass this. But what does it say about the NBA that this the first anything like this that we heard any of their players in a long long time. It seems every off season. We hear about is in the National Football League. Not hear more about in major league baseball. What to say about the NBA players seem to be in line and not had themselves in situations like this. Well, it is a testament. I I guess I don't know what the off off hand. I don't know. What the comparable numbers are certainly. There's a lot more NFL players baseball rosters are bigger. And so I do think that place mean just sheer numbers, but as a whole, yeah, I think it's it's certainly like all the league's do there's a lot of education coming into the league. There's a lot of programs in place to try to help players stay out of these situations. And so you're right. We we haven't had to cover a story like this in a league in a while. And we'll you know, we'll see where this one goes. We can't wait to see where it goes with LeBron James because you're one I'm sure if he could have a do over. He would if Magic Johnson and the Lakers could have a do over. They would agent for the longest time. I still wonder how much can they sell the Lakers two free agents? Not LeBron James. But Magic Johnson what kind of job does he have in front of here? This him this summer to make sure that year one and you not. The same with LeBron James. They've got a mountain to climb the summer and free agency. And I think before we even get the free agency and talk about who's available and would L interest them LA's gotta get their organization aligned from magic to rob Palanca to the head coaching position. Whether that's going to be Luke Walton or it's going to be somebody else. This was not a front office and coaching staff that was a line this year, and it's hard enough to win in the NBA. It's really hard to win when you're not on the same page and don't see the game don't view it. Similarly and magic and rob Pelinka didn't hire Luke Walton. And typically, I know a lot of people put it on Alonso put on LeBron about him in Lucan coaching change. But do as a disconnect before LeBron came to be fair. And and so whatever their future is there. Whether it's with Luke. Or perhaps more likely with somebody else? There's got to be in alignment there before they even go out into free agency and figure out Sullivan vision somewhere because the really good organizations in the organizations that are attractive to people right now, a free ANC you look at what the clippers have done. Yes. What the nets have done. Specifically, those are two places where you know, both are sort of the other team in their market and both of them are running their organizations better than the better than the Lakers better than the Knicks. And those teams have a ways to go to show that they're putting in place the infrastructure that makes you attractive to a big free agent Carr's. Recent history has shown you the last decade just because you're the Lakers or the Knicks or the bulls or teams, you know, perennial league marquee franchises. Just because you have cap space doesn't mean and just because of the building you play in your geography that doesn't mean you're going to get the big free agent. And I don't think that's changed. Great stuff by age rows and rows ESP. The NBA insider joining me, Freddie, Coleman on Freddie and Fitz on ESPN radio who's more likely leave their team is a Kevin Durant from Golden State or Kyrie Irving from the Boston Celtics in your opinion. What does your gut tell you? Wow. That's a tough one. I I will say this. I think Boston winning Boston getting to the finals or the conference final really playing. Well will impact Kyrie irvings decision. More than whatever. The warriors do think. Kevin my senses. Kevin Durant will make a decision more based on what it is. He wants and the role he wants to play in an organization, we're J graphically. He wants to be and listen the two of them. It's not impossible. They ended up together somewhere. I still think a lot of things have to align right for that to happen. But I do think there's a great deal of pressure on Boston to have success in the postseason. Maybe even to be able to get Anthony Davis in a trade to solidify. Kyrie's future in Boston. I don't feel like that's the case with Durant. I think he's making a decision independent of a lot of those factors. A lot of people Zion. Williamson. The Duke star team. No long Nancy w tournament many people leave. There's no chance he will not be the first player trapped when that happens later this spring. What do you hear from people in the NBA about what he's been able to do in college and how they might transfer to their league. Yeah. I think people see him as a really unique talent. And that's just what Zion Williamson's going to do reverie goes is, you know, there's there's number one overall picks of people think, you know, he's a franchise talent. But zion. I think has everything it takes to be a franchise player, which means it kind of teammate. He is the kind of leader he is. I mean, he looks like he's been in the under the spotlight is entire career. There wasn't a misstep the shirts really hard to be. That's a great point under the absolute laser, focus. He was under and not have a moment or two. We all would never mind at nineteen years old us in our advanced stage, screw up he doesn't. And so I think it says a lot about me he's going to sell. Tickets to sell jerseys. He's going to put people in arenas. I mean, I don't know that he's the Bronner Kobe or or magic or Lear. I don't know that he's that. But he's a guy though that I think he you remember early with in Blake Griffin's a comparison I get from people in the league like that kind of impactful player. I mean, Blake would sell out arenas all over the league. Everybody wanted to come watch Blake Griffin playwright in never minds LA. Right. I remember his rookie year. I live in jersey. And there was a nets who was a nets clippers game and Merav is going to buy a ticket tickets for my son, and I to go, and I'm like why are there? No tickets like the Meadowlands always empty who's going to net. And I said, wow, Blake's filling up arenas remember that was when a hidden 'cause when you fill up like the Meadowlands would be the Lakers would fill out or they play the Knicks. Otherwise, there weren't a lot of people that right? I think he'll have that impact. And and but that number one that draft lottery night may fourteenth. I I can't wait for that. I'm glad we're you know, we'll be there. And you know, you think about that. When when everything is a lottery thinking that Patrick Ewing. Dave the butcher moment. Absolutely the butcher. Yup. Clenching his fists, and and I don't know who's going to win it this year. But there's a chance whoever it is. You know, there's a moment that people remember because there's a lot on the line on that lottery. You'll be a part of all that coverage leading up to the draft lottery. Also leading to the draft. "With the call. It's quieter by. You felt? I one more time. When you haters out there thinking here, we go again sixteenth. See Tony Bennett should be fired as coach for letting that happen. Well, it didn't happen. I never believed for one second that it was going to happen. I did. I just believe the Virginia was gonna find a way to not let that happen again Gardner Webb was playing well early. But not one of the believe that that so going to happen. The more we saw the UNBC game last year, especially in the second half. We were looking at that game going mad. They got no chance to win winning this game. They can't guard. Those guys they were able to guard. These guys who are making what are called, sir. They were making stuffed animal shots Gardner Webb. You made the countertops. They made earlier you get any stuffed animal in amusement park that you want. But then once the rights over and they ran out of money. And there was no cotton candy Virginia took them home in the car. So I wasn't worried about that. But there's still damage by what happened in Virginia winning this game. There's still a lot of people get them thinking, maybe I can't trust them even more. So now. Than before this game got started. You can hear the relief in Tony Bennett's voice Virginia head coach because he is glad he does not have to go through that. Again. What he went through last year. You know, when you're in that spot, you feel the crowd. But it's something we had to go through. And I'm glad I'm up here. This year feeling a little different than Italian Kyle with me last year. That will always be part of our story. I understand that. And you know, I'm sure a lot of people thought it was going to be part of our stories second year in a row. But it's just now this this is a new year. This is trying to be in the moment. And that's that's a challenge to the best of your ability. So now, you get your rest you prepare for Oklahoma. And and get ready that last part of that statement, we felt it. It was a sense of relief. Not satisfaction. Not an achievement. Oh, thank God. And I wonder if they'll be be just play basketball for the rest of the tournament. You would think that that hurdle is over. They don't have to be victimized of their of their own home cells by having a lawsuit number sixteen seat, basically be nice and free and clear and they play Oklahoma. Let a nice win and they were all miss ninety five to seventy two A trae young in the building. You would say, okay. Well, we're done with that to me. There's still damage there when it comes to Virginia. I wonder how much they're still praying on their mind and think man, we survived that we should be fine. If anything it should be a lot harder now for Virginia to win their next game. It's one thing to overcome that hurdle. It's one thing to get that that guerrilla off your back that doesn't mean that everything is going to be nice and relaxing for Virginia. From this point their minds were clearly thinking about that in the first fifteen sixteen minutes of that game. You could see it the way they would just not doing what I'm used to seeing from agenda. Then. Again, I seen it from Nancy A tournament. They got away with it today because they were superior team. They played like that. Again, they will not make it out of the first weekend. And then those questions will be there again for Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers a friend will speak on that Zion. "Three out of three hundred fifty three teams you need to choose that up. A little bit have nine conference wins in the sure you can boast about those. But you were oh and seven against the top five in the ACC. You were seven oh against all the bottom five teams in the ACC. You had one win in conference play against a tournament team that was against Syracuse, thus you're not Nancy AA tournament. So to be clear, you do not believe they deserve. Do. No committee did a nice job making sure that they're holding people accountable for what you can't control and that your non conference schedule even though in they're not conference. They did beat over next as we continue with next question here. Best first round matchup show on farnam is I'm going all in on Marquette and Murray state and its Marcus Howard verse John Marin, I wish Marcus Howard was at one hundred percent. He's dealing with a wrist injury. Right now, these are two of the best scores in the country going head to head so often in this year. We've talked about what kind of pro is John rank going to be now the question becomes can his team advance in the first round Marquette, not playing their best basketball down the stretch, mainly because a Mark is how they've got the house of brothers. They're oustanding. But one thing to note, they shoot a lot of threes. They score a lot of points. Threes Murray state is fifth best in division. One basketball at defending the free point line. That's key to watch that game up in Hartford actually have Murray state advancing in what could be the most exciting first round matchup between the best scores. We have in our game. I think it'd be nice if John right makes a deep run in this thing because. A lot of people know the name haven't really seen much of them. You get a chance if you do next answer the question give me a top four seed that will not see the second weekend of the tournament about. I got two of them for you one of them is a team that we would never say. And that's the Kansas jayhawks. I the Kansas jayhawks or stumbling their way to the end of this season. I just look at this team struggled to shoot from beyond the art. I have them losing to Mexico state in the second round. And I have them winning the first round game then losing to New Mexico state in the second round. And and that's why would have them getting out of the tournament. I think when you look at another team, I stay inside the big twelve I think we over valuated the big twelve this year Chris beard has been phenomenal all season long. And this is a team. I really was believing it, but they still have so many offensive deficiencies, and if they're gonna take on a team like buffalo that can lock up just as well as they can't at the defensive end, it can be physical and there's a little bit more explosive at the offense event. That's why I think NATO team will advance a very big deal with Kansas too. Because if they do get to this week. Sixteen they'd be playing in Kansas City as a four seen. It was a home game. A lot of people will have a problem with and by a lot of people. I mean, I would have a problem with that one more give me the one seed the team that has seated number one in their bracket that you would bet your house will not make it to the final four. I think the way the brackets are shaped up you'd say it has the easiest path. But I would say the margin of error for Virginia is so slim still they are better offensively than they were a year ago tied Jerome is. Great yonder hunter is going to be an early first round pick in the NBA draft. Kyle guys making breeze as we've seen there times where they struggled to score the basketball. And when they struggle the score..

"We appreciate your time this morning. One of the conversations were trying to figure out is about the net formula in an a world of transparency and fans trying to figure out what it all means. Are there plans right now for the committee to release the net formula and how it's actually factored in? Thank you for having me first off, the we have given some information out that really the main thing is who you played where you played. And what was the result? There are some things advanced metrics that they were use bam's learning that is difficult to explain and we are partners Google helped us provide that it's something that first year using this tool. It's a very contemporary tool for us. It's really has both results based metrics as well as predictive. And we think it's it's been a great tool all year, certainly something that will continue to look at each committee every year after the tournament will look at it. And then down the road. I'm sure it'll be tweet as as we try to get better and better each year. So they'll be questions asked about it. Especially if you're at North Carolina State, Clemson, our Texas where the net ranking has thirty three thirty three thirty five and thirty eight of why they're not in the tournament. And teams that are ranked in the fifties and sixties are so while I know it's not the end all be all tool. Why are those teams left out well team, Mike NC state? For example, you have to delve a little bit further. We we just don't go down the list as you can imagine and say, okay, let's go one through forty and get the team. Those are the teams that are in the tournament. We want to look at their overall resume in the case of NC state. Boy, they had great opportunities nine days in the first in first quadrant. The upper tier the first quadrant, and they want none of them. And so that that was a great concern of the committee like, Indiana, for example. Hey, had some great wins. But also had a lot of losses. And and you know, when you get down to it when you get close to that bubble, and you're trying to get teams in or you're keeping some teams out. They all start to look a little bit the same, and and so very fine line here. And so we're trying to make judgments and pick apart or who we think should be in who we have to leave out. And I guess in that process on the other end when you're making decisions on the top end of things because we know Michigan state has been such a hotly discussed team there to seed know, the side of the bracket that they're playing in a lot of this. When you look at them in relative to their accomplishments in their conference tournament. How much are those things waited how much are the people making this told to carry and factor in what happens in the conference tournament as opposed to the conference regular season because at from where we all sit it doesn't appear that the conference tournament results seem to factor in all that much. So a great question. So I I would say this going into the week we had about seventeen including Michigan state that were vying for spot on the one line, we we we looked at it thoroughly throughout the course of the week the other thing, I would emphasize is that the what happened over the last few days is just a part of the overall resume, and I think sometimes people the public thing. Okay. My team's hot. They've won three games. Four games in a row. And all of a sudden, they should be moving up to a one one-seat. It doesn't necessarily work that way the thing about Michigan state that prevented it from getting to the one line is where they had some losses that to Indiana to losses in the end they weren't in the tournaments. They lost their LeMoyne. They weren't in the terminus over the only team that was being considered for the number one line that had losses to teams that were not in the field talking to Bernard Muir, Stanford athletic director, NCAA tournament committee chairman and former ballplayer basketball player at Brown. Along those lines with Michigan state, though. Here's my problem Bernard is while it you're not looking at match ups. And I heard you say talk about that. But there's no way Michigan state is the last number two seed is the fourth number two seed, how did they get put with Duke? And I know you're gonna say geography, but what I don't understand. Is you ask any player in a private moment? They would much rather be in the region then Duke region now is this completely. So fan base can get to this arena better than the west coast arena. Well, it's a factor that we are trying to keep teams close to home so fans can travel to watch your teams play. But I also want to point out that you know, I think people are looking at the bracket and saying boy the region with Condado and some others is is easier than Duke region. Don't get me wrong number one seat overall. But Gonzaga's only team that has beaten Duke when they were at full strength. And so that's not an easy reason when I look at some of the other seeds there, the Texas text of the world of Florida states or the world we're trying to bounce the bracket. And so when Michigan state was up after we had taken care of Tennessee and put them in the south the closest natural region was was the east, and we wanna keep teams as I said close to home that also is helpful for the team just in terms of getting their team ready, and hopefully not traveling far distances in order to play the other thing, I I wanna point out as well too. And we saw this last year is I think people want to project so far out in advance and things happened along the way there bumps along the way in the tournament. We saw that last year with Virginia number one seed, and obviously they're back at it again. And I think that they have a chance to make a heck of a run in here. But you just you can't project that far just say, oh, this is how it's going to happen. Because that's what's the beauty of the tournament. Is is break things happen along the way, we're talking. Bernard me are the NCAA tournament chairman committee committee chairman sorry, it is worth asking. We we learned that obviously the committee gets together on Saturday, and does the majority of the work at that point. And then they look Sunday to see what's changed what did change from Sunday from what they had previously on Saturday night. Now, let me just say this. We we've been together since Tuesday night, we got in and leaving doing selecting and seeding throughout the course of the week. We did have some movement in in our seed list of Michigan state league Kentucky because of what they did. And in the big ten tournament. We have some movement down the line as well to with the Cincinnati for the world. But at the same token, you know, Tennessee one yesterday they would have been on the number one line because I go to move down. So we were prepared to make that switch and so we're we're constantly watching. It was like I said trying to get as much data points as possible in order to police feel from one to sixty eight when I appreciate your time this morning. Thanks so much for hanging out with us specs Bernard so much luck with your brackets, all the luck. We're not mere Stanford athletic director, Nancy AA tournament committee chairman. So let's get some immediate reaction from that. From one of our best minds on college basketball. ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas in studio with us. Jay, thanks for hanging out this morning when you hear that do you look, first and foremost, the seating is such a big conversation did the committee get right near mind, they did better than other committees. So they were closer. But there there are a lot of things that you can nitpick on and say, well, this was off a little bit. How could Marquette be ahead of Villanova? You know, stuff like that. There were there were a number of things that that I didn't agree with. But I think for the most part they colored within the lines. I think this committee did a better job than past committees. But you know, a lot of stuff you kinda is is institutional like they've they've been institutionalized in this all the committee members because when you start thinking about just the answers one answer that a committee member gives on a team is going to contradict something. They did with another team. It's impossible for them to get all this stuff. Right. When they're going to explain something and pin pin, an answer on this particular, data point or something sort of the idea that Bernard mayor just said that well if Tennessee had beaten Auburn yesterday, they would've jumped Gonzaga, well, what does that how what is their game against Auburn have to do with whether they're better than Gonzaga like that makes no sense. But they do that stuff all the time. And you know, so if Michigan state had one Michigan state won, and they moved up over Kentucky will Michigan state still the team that lost to Illinois. And lost Indiana twice, which you just said was really important in them not being a one. So that they're still the same team. So because they beat Michigan. Then that means they're better than Kentucky. Like you. You should have made those decisions already that was already baked in in my in my judgment. And with that being said, why would Tennessee have gotten a benefit from winning over Auburn that Michigan state didn't get from beating Michigan? That's exactly my point is. So you're looking at these data points at the end of the line, and then they say total body of work. But it's just one data point when they don't use it. And then when they use it then it's really important because it's a game on a neutral floor. So they're contradicting themselves all the time. They can't help it because they've got too many things they're they're looking at and not enough that Bernardez, but not enough basketball people on the committee. And so the basketball people basically are dragging the non basketball people along with them. I don't know how it works football. But but if a ball had sixty eight teams would probably do this the same way and basketball has more like I. You guys are the football guys. But I think football and basketball are more of the same. Then people want to admit. So if you take UCF in football, for example, the the the discussion points were if you dropped this UCF team into the southeastern conference, they would not do. Well, they're not big enough upfront. They would get beat up. They would get injured over the course of a schedule. They wouldn't do. Well, but one game they can win and they did two years ago. They'd beat Auburn in a bowl game one game. They can win basketball is exactly the same. You took Belmont. You drop them in the SEC the ACC they would get it handed to them, and it would be difficult for them. Not to say that that ACC teams couldn't go into their league and take a loss here there. But in one game or one weekend, they can do it. It's the same. It's exactly the same. And we tend to forget this like apps state one of the big house. We gotta forget all the upsets that happened. But there are more games that are played in basketball. So you see more and somehow you think basketball's is horribly different game. It's really not that different. We just don't want to see the football go to sixty eight teams that would be very very different. It would be back. Be bad. It's bad in this. And so when when it's bad in a way because we don't have the best the one of the myths about the NCAA tournament. We don't have the best sixty eight teams in this thing. And so when when Michael some of my colleagues say, you know, the little guy is getting job here because they're taking the mediocre major. That's not the one taking the spot away from them. The other little guys because we've got like eighteen or twenty little guys that frankly, if you stack them up would never come close to the field because they're in the bottom half division one..

"Because that islanders thing was pretty distressing to the people in Toronto Calgary again is coming off a waas in there have been dominant all year long. Yeah. And I don't know so much in the NHL that they're looking ahead spots in the regular season. But for the better part of three weeks, I would say this. I've been saying the people here bagels. And I got a funny feeling these games was pretty intense with with the flames to start to send messages saying we got a feeling you may bump into you in the playoffs. So it's a minimum worker had spots Calgary, but not that much. I they break game. But I'm just gonna watch it and the entertained Calgary in Vegas play. Wednesday night insensitive. Plays Sunday in Calgary so rampant events theory, something I talked about in my situation bedding article over banged the book dot com that could be there on Sunday for the loser of Wednesday night's game. So we talked about it a little bit at the top of the segment here, Brian as we transition over the college basketball side for a couple of minutes conference tournaments thirteen of him, sir this week, including one tonight in the Atlantic sun nineteen of them starting next week as we've got thirty two conferences here any general conference servant betting strategies from you brand. He had generally speaking. And I would even say it would apply even in a conference like this like Winston splaying, Kennesaw state. Okay. I like the game over, but let's can liberty. You think maybe you're on paper writing around the collision course the craziest thing is Jacksonville. The payments with a horrible record can scores actually hungry lives. Come could maybe be a nice covering an opportunity where and we're gonna see this all the way through into the first round the NCW tournaments Noli kids on the Lipscomb bench right for the been on the scout team and in practice and part of the team. And you know, if limbs still has, you know, a twenty point lead in the game tonight coach from Lincoln's gonna say, well, these games the rest of our conference term, and they're going to become topper. And then they're going to be a big underdog Nancy AA tournament a lot of these kids on. The scout team. It looks got the game in the cookie jar late last week four minutes. "Of hand. Supply amazing now Schuler down the lane. The buzzer ghost. Technical. Technical term. Fortunate Harris breaks are coming out on the court. Davis quickly addresses the crowd trying to that. It was a fantastic basketball game Darren Oxford. A what a win for big orange on the SEC never with the one call before that you heard David Kelham losing his mind on learfield. IMG college ole miss Lewis, a seventy three to seventy one. And then the paper Cup gang showed up in full force dot hood. That court was littered with paper cups some unhappy and very disappointed ole miss fans. I got the transcript of what the coach said he grabbed the micro say you don't live in. Well. You don't live in Jackson. You live in Oxford. You don't live in starkville. You'll live in Oxford. Don't why Sam white was there. But he was there. Occasion. But you know, the fans care, but as I said before I hope you're not throwing those cups at the at the officials. That's the team that had some brain farts down the stretch. Yeah. With of course, they're gonna throw the guys in the footlocker uniforms because they're not gonna thaw, Tennessee. Although I'm sure tops got near them yet. They believe the officials stole this game from their basketball team. And they don't get Nancy w tournament play of ole miss fans going to circle this game. I'd say if we had won that game yet, and that's stolen from us. We'd be in the NC double A tournament right now. Paul Paul tomorrow. The Paul finebaum show. Be some angry ox forty ends. "Let's start with college ball. That's that's your deal. So you're gonna have to tell me do we actually think Duke learn something from fallen twenty three points behind at Louisville and comes back to win. You would hope that they did. Because if they didn't they're gonna lose real quickly the NCAA tournament because you you fall behind twenty in March, you're not coming back. And while they did a great job of executing and taking away the momentum of that game. A lot of that. Also was the fact that Louisville got really loose with the basketball. They had nine turnovers in the final. Nine minutes thirteen seconds and probably a good five or six of those were literally just dribbling the ball right into Duke players hands like here, take the balls. I on go ahead and go down and get a layup. So it was it was a frustrating finish to the game for Chris max team. But I think couple things stood out to me about that game. Sarah's one is if coach canes a bucket, it's not Zion and RJ that he goes to. He goes to camera. Dish cameras was outstanding in the second half of that game had four made three pointers yet five in the game, by the way against for Jinya. But he was the guy scored sixteen of his twenty two in the second half and go back to even the game winning situation against Florida state earlier in a play who took the final shot it was Cam reddish. So when they need a shot to be made coach K is leaning on camera tish to be the guy that makes that shot. Now, we got a big game in the SEC this weekend. But is it Duke and just everybody else and oaken saga beat them very early and one of my favorite players in all of the land Isra hit hutch mover. But other than that, you know, who are we looking at it can. Give them a tough go of it in a one and done scenario Nancy AA tournament. Well, first of all Tennessee's the best team in the country. It's not even close. So I mean, I I say that with all due respect to do can do fans always go. Well, look at our strength of schedule verse their strike the schedule. That's fine. I like to look at how teams are playing the efficiency level in which we're seeing on Tennessee at the offensive end is outstanding their team lamed with upperclassmen people that have been around the experienced players. In fact, zero point scored all season long g hit zero point by Tennessee freshmen this year zero in the age of one and done. This is a team that is Chuck full of guys that have done it and that are stars. And you look at grant Williams, Admiral Scofield, those two are phenomenal. As far as what they bring to the table. But then let's put something on top of that. And look at the emergence of Jordan bone who now is top seven in the country and assist to turnover ratio. So I mean, they've got a great inside out combo in while you can look at Duke and say, okay mean again, people are looking at Virginia game, we go man, you see the way they shot their see they could shoot. Yeah. But I've also watched all the other games that tell me that they're not a great three point shooting team. So when you get to March and you're in that tournament setting. I think you're going to struggle..

"One more Manziel yourself. Double double well, who do we single out as his broadcast started in the pre game show as Peyton Pritchard goes? So go the Oregon ducks and he's been flying playing well tonight. Coming into this season. I think most most people in the league, the coaches, it's an all league performer might be the best overall point guard in the league because of what he does. And tonight he's playing like nine rebounds as well. He's near a double double sixty three forty nine. Cows got the ball pressure from the ducks. Deal over Austin cross. Right wing, Harris, McNeil, shake, resets fires and connects. Sixty three fifty to four or five to go. Plenty of time. You don't have to file still four minutes to play a lot of possession. So got to get some stops. So that's that's been a problem certainly was against Stanford. You gotta get some stops pressure. Now off the right wing and drive baseline pass it around. Back kingdom left corner. Throw one behind his back. Get it back from light Pritchard. Now up top that drive in off the glass. No VANOVER finally secures. Fouls gonna go on Richard haircut. Stop there. They forced a tough shot by Richard bears. Rotated very nicely. As that ball went around the horn. Michael Jones, still Lucy. Dana knows long way to go with three thirty seven on the clock. Like, you'll take a boy, can we just we knock these down get another stop string a few together during a few together. It doesn't have to have long memories. Remember, the UCLA they lead by nine with fifty one seconds to play. Collapsed against the Bruins went into overtime the largest. Deficit in final minute of the game in the history of the Pac twelve conference in the sixth biggest deficit comfortably behind a history of division. One basketball. Bad over just one ten point game here suppression. Richard panik over to white. Right sideline over to king. It up top three twenty two clock moving king. Dipped down to Wootton good inside kicked back out Pritchard left alone. Again, can't hit Austin with the rebound. Doing down the other way Paris won't make the tough pass the Bradley right behind Matt with a shake and go right Pritchard, bump and flies over at swats. It away. Gain coming back the other way. Nice. Assists, older will Richardson up on the left side. Again, you gotta learn from experience that McKinney roots in the ball game. No shot is an easy shot in the interior. Neil. This is fourth block against Matt Bradley. And then white fouls. Driving Justice suing. To stops o'clock. That's good Justice recognizing. Justice with fifteen points and again as he did a year ago conference play begins. He's upset his productivity. To forty one on the clock. Nikolai? It's the first and the next one is key. Because if you make a free throw it get a chance to set up your press. Would you blow lead like Oregon did UCLA? You never forget it. The whole forget, I mean, it it lives in the back of your mind. No question. Sixty five fifty five. Pitcher turned back was over the white. The head to king and secures it. Richard up top served. The Richardson game catch would around. Should send Richard Richardson? One bounce Pritchard moving right around that you'd said on the right wing Wooten bobbled, it reclaims it turned shoots and. One you like them to take give credit? He knocked down. I had no problem with shop. When he turned taking the result makes sixty seven fifty five two minutes to go. Peirce driving in van over one extra pass Bradley steps into a three from the right wing drills. Timeout when Jones and the bears sixty seven fifty eight one that fifty four to go earlier in the season. The bears would not have made that extra pass Paris could a shot. It would have been a four-shot in traffic, but kicked it out to Connor. That's a shot Connor is taken in the past. But Matt Bradley was wide open. And he's two for what for tonight, I think from beyond the arc and self the Pac twelve leading three point. You're actually going to nudge that up a little bit more tonight with this epoch sixty seven fifty eight one fifty four to go with Matthew United Rita. When the bears find a little magic here and get their all time record at Matthew. Knight arena to five and two. The only team is mentioned other than Oregon has are winning record in men's basketball in his building. It's a great note. It really was and give kudos to Greg. Walker? The SID for Oregon for coming up with that one. Of course, a lot of that was Mike Montgomery hitting lose. Dana altman. No, he never lost the Dana. And so it was almost like a passing of the torch in some regards. Bears haven't won here since twenty fourteen. White gonna go for the home run ball in the king of the inbound. He's got it down at the free throw line. He'll turn they'd get to Richardson. Movin one six hundred forty five Pritchard over the Richardson up at the top. I think he played us when outreach don't take the file here. If you don't have to king. A couple of bounces Pritchard eye on the clock run. This went down. Tim bumps into van Dover comes back away. No look pass elevation slam. Getting Wooten lost. Well, they took advantage of Connor van over there. The high enroll that he doesn't have great foot speed. You can't get back. So you have to switch that never leave a guard on six nine fifty eight Austin beach, Bradley in the paint trying to derive around left-hander is good off the left side bears still fighting clock moving one ten one nine why on the baseline? Richard. And that has to call a timeout. Good. Overplay by the bears there. Man, white to send a senior they have him. Take the ball out of bounds. He know six nine good decision maker. Nine point deficit one. Oh five. Now, you're in a situation rich where I think you have to play either steel or the foul for profit the Jim Valvano philosophy right? They actually made famous Nancy a tournament in Corvallis. Yes. Of all places. Princeton and vita UNLV up there. And that's where he really put it the best usage and became kind of a. Strategy for a lot of guys. So that's the case. Do you want to take swipes at well Kenny Wooten, you would think because on the season fifty eight percent or sixteen of twenty six conference. You do not wanna file Prichard because he's the Pac twelve leaders at ninety one percent sixty out of sixty six. Louis king is an eighty two percent or eighteen to twenty two in conference play. So they got guys that can knock him down there. Seventy seventy two seventy three percent on the season. Paul white normally pretty reliable guys. Well, seventy six percent. So if you get a chance. Would be the guys like to funnel the ball to him. Deny everybody else funnel. It white guarded by saving on the baseline trying to move around. You gotta go. Get him got rid of the ball. And he got it back to Richardson. What does it up ahead to white, and they'll get it down to Wootton underneath, and he'll get fouled on his way to the rack and make the vast the cannot let that happen..

"W t and j my name is Brian infra Greg Matzek this evening until eight o'clock. Justin Garcia has bucks in sixty at that time talking a little college hoops in our two of our time together this evening, just recapped Marquette's eventful last week and a half during which they've won five games in a row in big east play to catapult themselves to twelve in the country another team that was ranked twelfth in the country at one time that actually peaked at number twelve was the Wisconsin badgers and they picked up a much-needed signature victory on Saturday afternoon at the Kohl center older second ranked Michigan sixty four to fifty four was the final score. That game was a lot closer in the waning minutes. Then the final score would lead you to believe Wisconsin really pulled away at the end with the. Couple of late baskets off of turnovers. But it was a three point game at one point in the final two minutes of that basketball game and Wisconsin coming into that game their last five prior to beating Michigan on Saturday. Loss at western Kentucky loss home to Minnesota. A win on the road at Penn State lost to Purdue and then lost to Maryland. So they were really on a bit of a skid, the Wisconsin badgers were they dropped out of the AP top twenty five and they really needed a resume booster come March. Because really their signature win up until that point was a road victory over fourteen th ranked Iowa, which is nice, but I don't think is going to pan out to be as great of a team over the course of the season is maybe they were when they were ranked fourteenth in the country. So they really needed a big put this on my resume jump off the paper type of victory in man. Did they get it at the Kohl center on Saturday afternoon and really position themselves? Well, to kind of get into the swing of things beat some teams they should beat in the big east conference and ultimately get into a spot where they should be back Nancy w tournament this year, but we wanna discuss as it pertains to this Wisconsin Michigan game Ashton is the fans of the. The students rushing the floor after the game. Now, I don't wanna come off your and sound like the court storming police because I think college kids should have fun that seems like a basic enough ask for people to get on board with right? I had fun when I was in college. I'm sure you did as well. I'm sure our fans did as well. We all do fun stuff and have memories from our college days what we're blast. So I want to come off as the court storming police here. But I do think there is a certain time certain places certain victory that storming the court is reserved for if you knocked off the number one team in the country, and you're not on the floor. I'm going to be angry at you knew should rush the floor. If you knocked off the number one team in the country the rest of it's kind of situational to me. Did Wisconsin you this win really really bad? Yeah. I don't know that I was okay with them rushing the floor in this situation. It's the number two team in the country, Wisconsin fans, and I think the kids in that locker room and Greg garden that coaching staff would have told you at the beginning of the year that this was a game that they would have wanted to win on their home floor that they should be competing with top five teams in the country. So I think when you set the expectations there you have to act like you've been there before. Now, I look back to another game last season late in the year during which Wisconsin fan storm the floor when they beat Purdue who I think was ranked sixth in the country at the time. Wisconsin fans stormed the court late last season. And I was perfectly okay with that. Because the situation was different. Wisconsin was having a really bad year an uncharacteristically bad year and that evening the badgers program retired Frank Kaminski's number. So there was an energy in a buzz in the building. You're having a bad year. You finally breakthrough and get a victory. I understand your desire. At that juncture to one the storm the court at this point where it feels like the badgers or NCW tournament team. And this was a game. They would have expected themselves to win. It felt a little icky to me at the call center on Saturday that the student section decided to rush the floor. Once again, don't wanna come off as the court storming police here, but it felt a little tricky to me yesterday. It's seven twenty eight year. Let's head over to the WTMJ breaking news center. Here's Tony back with the news. All right. Thank you. Bryan. More than a half dozen democratic potential candidates are fanning out on this Martin Luther King junior holiday among them, California.
