So when he died he died. Allow around loved ones. And you know one of the things that you know. I'm still struggling with was. I didn't get to say goodbye to my dad. You know when. I came in the next day to see him. The nurses came out and told me and my mom that you know that morning he had died. So i didn't get an opportunity to say i love you or you know. Take it easy. I'M GONNA. Put it in. Other than. The whole. And I'm not taking it away from the memory of of Nancy, Wa or Nancy Sullivan. But other than being like with that. What has she done I'm sorry to say what did she do other than being a valet in Florida? Valet in WCW and a valet and he c w what has she done? You've got to look abroad. You don't look behind the scenes of women. She was the Rock and the tar spot Bahamian. Who is Kevin Sullivan? He he legitimately help book some of those matches she legitimately. And made his character veteran and she did that not just or Kevin Sullivan. She did that for Crispin Wa. She was the one she was putting work helping out some of the wrestlers. Patching up. For the Singapore cane match where ed all you know she was taunting Tommy, dreamer because she was managing salmon at the time. That's really she w unrein other than that. That's all I can remember her for. She doesn't have to speak because let me tell you I. See where Jesus coming from. "He had to take with excess. Xfl whatever it is. The football league has because they had to cancel half their season. And now you know with no no. No more after the ninth. They don't know when they're going to be doing live wrestling again. Stay home order in the state of Florida. Exactly at all almost every other state operated in and you know this is what's going on with a lot of the wrestlers that they're not sure after the ninth if there's going to be massive cuts of staff because right now the wwe is so bloated with undercard people. Anyway enter anything so it's GONNA be very interesting to see what happens with all this afterwards absolutely once again. I'm talking to my father and also well Alex Autry from the network. Check out there great stuff today at. Eso NETWORK DOT com for all things Geek but before we get on out the dark side of the ring from vice made available to episode while actually was a two hour episode but also a two parter on Youtube on the murder. Suicide the little bit of background as well and Crispin Ma Mike. I'll headed to you first. Your thoughts on it on a very touchy and Sticky Situation. The wwe no longer wants any part of no. Of course not and I thought it was done wonderfully. I thought it was very respectful on all parties involved. I don't think it was made to look anyone to look bad. I thought it was. It was great to have Chris Jericho involved. It was great to have Chavez involved. Jr involved it was just. It was really awesome and it really surprised me that there was no current. Wwe people involved with this and it shows that they totally washed their hands of the whole crispin thing and both Alex and I F- I just live right outside of Atlanta. So we were here with. This went down so we saw a lot of it too. And we'd knew you know some of US knew some of the people who were involved in this and such and it was just you know we saw all the newscasts the coverage. Even the day it happened it was just a breaking news item right on the network news. It was pretty amazing. Alex sunny thoughts on it as an unabashed. Chris. Benoit's in the Ring Fan. I remember that whole thing is being unnerved the news coming out the tribute show. That was done for him and during the tribute show people finding out that it was a murder suicide. And then you know the whole thing of well it must have been road rage and then finding out. No no it was a it was multiple. Concussions his brain was like in the dementia at that point and it was just a heart wrenching. A little unnerving David Ben Wa and profile shots looks exactly like Chris. Very scarily saw which was which was beyond unnerving but hearing from Nancy. Sullivan's sister just put a whole another spin on if people haven't seen this yet why haven't you. It was just one of those things where it's the darkest moment and professional wrestling and it didn't take place in a ring So I mean you you put this up with Owens fall and probably bruiser brody's murder in Puerto Rico as as one of the most horrific things but it clearly I mean even you talk about those. Two one was an accident. One was two adults getting into an argument. This was just horrifying and it hurt a little to watch absolutely although the dark side of the ring is if you're looking for nice uplifting wrestling subjects you're not going to get it. There do the research. I WANNA give advice credit but it is something that is GonNa show a senior darker side pardon the Pun as far as on the professional wrestling side. Says something that if you wanna go ahead and check it out. It does go in great detail. What was leading up to the horrific murder suicide of Crispin? Nancy Benoit and their son as well so it is like I said. Very compelling viewing. It is something that if you're a fan you're gonNA watch but they also go ahead and reflect on him beforehand. What was leading up to it but also his talent in which you cannot deny the talent that the had but you also cannot deny the crimes that he committed. And it's not for kids folks. It has no chance at all all right guys before he had announced. Just want to go ahead and catch everybody up on what's going on with. Eso networks so alex before we take it away with Mike. I WANNA go ahead Alex. Any last thoughts of what you're up to with the S O or anything else. I've pleasure of being a part of the team of of movie. Reviewers for air station one along with Ashley. Paul's we get the chance to really talk in depth about films so throughout the summer actually since we have no summer movies this year. We're going to be doing some extra special episode where we look back at favorites of ours. Sets can be really cool. That's stuff that you can see on the Listened to on Earth Station Network in the coming weeks. And who better to talk than Mike and self Mike. Thank you for having US on again. Gerald. We do appreciate it man. It was a lot of fun or station. One is a very proud member of the network. We have twenty shows. And we're about to have our twenty first show back on the network. What you do to my shows you make mind like Sorta says the dark side of the ring. There's the dark side of the network and that's where pop culture cosmos says. No I'm just kidding. And the Brian Lehrer show ideas festival. We hope is one example of how public radio is different from commercial media. They will focus so much on the horse race and on acusations by one candidate against another and things like that. It is central to our mission to explore ideas. Explore what's right and wrong. What matters at the foundations of democracy. It may not get ratings to, you know, do it as infotainment, but it's that we're free of that profit imperative which means we're freer to make our programming choices on what seems really important not merely popular and do things like we were just doing with Robinson Meyer from the Atlantic on the Inslee climate plan. We hope the Brian Lehrer show ideas festival this week focusing on ten ideas from ten different presidential hopefuls is a good example of that. And good example of why you might decide to become a member of. WNYC? It keeps us behold into thousands and thousands and thousands of listeners and not dozens and dozens of corporate interests. We like it that way. That's why we sound different.
