House GOP Rushes Bill to Make Some Spending Cuts, Raise Debt Ceiling
"McCarthy says he's got the votes to shove through very quickly a plan that would raise the debt ceiling. Now, look, if this is, in my concern here is this is happening so fast. That you've got some Republicans out there, not house freedom caucus folks mind you, but you have other Republicans, including congresswoman Nancy mace at a South Carolina who's basically a conservative Democrat, and then you've got our good friend, congressman Tim burchett, from right here in Tennessee, where we broadcast this national radio program, and there among those saying, hey, wow Nellie. Everything, huh? They're saying this thing is being shoved through and they haven't had a chance to really talk about this, but the house is scheduled to vote sometime today. To raise the debt ceiling. Now there is there are some spending cuts connected to this, but we don't have the details. So that's my concern is all of this is being done in closed doors. A House rules committee chairman Tom Cole, from Oklahoma, told reporters that he does have the votes. This is after a 6 hour hearing overnight to get the bill ready for the floor. And I think we've all been down this road before ladies and gentlemen, where lawmakers, when they stay overnight in the capital, very bad things happen to your wallet and sometimes to the interns. No, I'm just kidding. But nothing good ever happens after dark at the U.S. capitol. I think we can all agree to that. So

"Members of Congress are watching the legal process of a case involving a widely used abortion pill. Now that the U.S. Supreme Court allowed its use to continue, while court appeals play out. "Yesterday we were treated and that's the right word. It was a treat. The Twitter goons were talking about the old censorship regime at Twitter, notably the trust and safety guy you'll Roth. Notably the Asian Indian legal consigliere vijaya gaudy, notably the FBI guy at Twitter, James baker, all of them were hauled before the House GOP. And subjected to withering questioning that was quite honestly a real treat to watch. If you want highlights, go to my Twitter feed and you'll see James comer, you'll see Nancy mace, you'll see Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren boebert, all of them, doing a really good job putting these guys up against the wall nailing them with their own words and actions and making them squirm and hem and haw and try to Dodge and then we got a culmination that I want to tell you about. But. The Hunter Biden story was an important theme. And the questioning was really telling because it exposed the fact that even though Twitter came to the conclusion that this was quote hacked, it was our somehow a Russian hack there was no basis for this. I love the questions to you all rot. Who did you, who did you consult that told you that this was a Russian hack? Yeah, I don't know. I didn't really talk to anybody. I just read some internal Twitter communications to that effect. I'm paraphrasing, of course, but this is the old rot, twittering on about, and what became really clear is how irresponsible these people are.

Ilhan Omar Getting Booted From the Foreign Affairs Committee
"It looks like today Ilhan Omar is going to be kicked off the House foreign affairs committee and this also means that Ilhan Omar will no longer be the top Democrat on the subcommittee on Africa. This is something that she has taken great pride in. And so this is a kind of a blow to Ilhan Omar and she's been fighting hard against it now for a several days it looked like this might not happen. In other words, it looked like Kevin McCarthy had the votes to boot swalwell to boot Adam Schiff, but not to boot Ilhan Omar for a couple of reasons. One is that there is one Republican who thought that Elon Omar was doing a pretty good job on the committee. There was another Ken buck who's been on this podcast and Ken buck, I think, was taking the principled view that, hey, listen, just because the Democrats threw Republicans off their committees doesn't mean that we, the Republicans should throw the Democrats off their committees, Ken buck, I think, was joining the, let's call it we're better than they are school of politics. We should sort of show them by example that this is the right way to do things. And then Nancy mace, she's the one I think who was opposed to removing Ilhan Omar. But Kevin McCarthy basically did what good leaders do, which is he started pulling these people into a back room and having a little bit of a talk with them. And out of the three, he convinced two to swap their vote. So Ken buck now and a Victoria spartz have agreed to vote to remove Ilhan Omar, they insisted upon a provision that she gets a chance to quote appeal her removal, which is kind of a worthless thing to do because that appeal is not going to very likely succeed. And so Ilhan Omar is going to be out of there.

"An attorney for Joe Biden says additional documents with classified markings were found at the president's Wilmington home on Friday. Instead of saying there's no there there. Democratic senator Joe Manchin would like to hear President Biden take responsibility for the classified documents that have been found. He sure didn't intend for it to fall in the wrong hands and use it against our country. I know they didn't intend that to happen. Could it have happened? I don't know. And yeah, you just might as well say, listen. It's irresponsible. It was something that we should have had a better check and balance on. Kevin Had to Make a Lot of Promises to House Conservatives
"On our emails, people are pretty upset. They say never a deal should not have been struck, you know, this was a total fraud. I disagree. I trust the negotiation, even Matt dates said he ran out of stuff to ask for. Matt Gaetz said, I got nothing else to ask for. There's a fair amount of positive emails as well, but I want to keep on hearing from you freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com because the moderates have power too. You have to remember that. It's not just the 20 holdouts that had power for a limited time. The moderates were preparing to strike back. Someone said Charlie stopped calling the moderates, call them Democrats. Okay, they could be rhinos. They could be Biden Republicans. They could be whatever you want to call them. They were preparing to strike back. For example, Nancy mace went on television and said that I don't think I'm going to vote for the rules package, or I don't know how I'm going to vote on the rules package. The rules package, by the way, is going to be an 80 to 100 page bill that will be voted on in the next day or two, that crystallizes all of these concessions. So for example, many of you said, well, Charlie, how do we trust them? How do we trust them? There is no trusting. If McCarthy is going to be good for his word, then all of this will be summarized in that 80 to 100 page rules package. If not, they're not going to vote for it and the deal will be dead. And since there is now a one person, there's now a one threshold, the vacate the chair, we will restart. So McCarthy is going to be forced to be good for his word. It's not a matter of trust. Once that rules package passes and it is put into ink, it doesn't matter if you trust somebody or not, it becomes the standard operating procedure.

The rules package is the whole enchilada that the freedom caucus negotiated last week. So the deal that we're about to go through the concessions we went through. If the moderates don't vote for that on the floor when it comes forward, then it effectively blows up the entire speakers race. And we might have to start all over again. You can only push and negotiation so far until the deal blows up. And I want to give credit to chip Roy and give credits on a paulina give credit to gosar. Give credit to all of them. This is Nancy mace, the moderates play cut 12. How are you going to work with these folks to get anything done for the American people? It's going to be very difficult. Matt Gaetz is a fraud. Every time he voted against Kevin McCarthy last week, he sent out a fundraising email. What you saw last week was a constitutional process diminished by those kinds of political actions. I don't support that kind of behavior. Yeah, you just support obedience to the regime. We got that Nancy. Thanks for shopping. There's another piece of tape though where she says she might not even vote for the rules package. Now you might say, oh, who cares? That could obliterate very serious concessions that were brokered thanks to these courageous holdouts. Again, I was skeptical of the strategy. I was skeptical because I thought the moderates were going to blow this up. I thought Don bacon and Tony Gonzalez and Nancy mace were going to blow this up a lot earlier. They were starting to threaten that finally on Friday. Now, what are these concessions? First and foremost, concession number one, adding conservative freedom caucus members to the House rules committee. Now you don't hear very much about the House rules committee. It's the machinery of Congress. It's kind of where the sausage is made. It's the behind the scenes type work. Well, the rules committee decides whether the house will vote on legislation at all.

After 15 Rounds of Voting, Kevin McCarthy Has Finally Been Elected
"Late Friday evening going into Saturday morning, a deal was struck for Speaker of the House. The 20 holdouts negotiated a fabulous deal. And I will be very honest with you, as many of you who watch and listen to this program with regularity, I was skeptical. And I was skeptical for good reason, and I'm gonna prove that my skepticism was rooted in a real threat, but these holdouts got us a terrific deal. They pushed it just far enough with real demands. Serious asks of what success looks like, and these are patriots. They're not terrorists as some people on television called them. Dan Crenshaw called them. Narcissistic, insurgents, sociopathic enemies. This is all nonsense. These are patriots that showed in the end that they were willing to negotiate in good faith. Now, these concessions led to real substantive rule changes if the rules package can indeed pass in the next day or two. We're going to talk in great detail of what that means, but we must realize that on late Friday evening, the kind of forces that we're holding out, everyone from Andy Biggs to Eli crane to Matt rosendale to Lauren boebert to Matt Gaetz to Anna paulina Luna. They were pushing and pushing and pushing for real rules changes, but there was a rumbling that began to surface. And that rumbling was from the moderate wing. The moderate wing that consists of people like Nancy mace and Tony Gonzalez and Dan Crenshaw. And Burgess Owens, people that are very much in the establishment of the Republican Party and they were getting and Don bacon. They were getting very angry at Matt Gaetz and Lauren boebert and Andy Biggs and the people that were trying to strike a conservative deal that would represent voters.

"So much is happening on Capitol Hill right now before Christmas because they're back in session. I want to end on this because it's Nancy mace. She's a Republican. She's kind of accused of being a rhino sometimes. Listen, I'm not playing the usual political games. I just find this stuff interesting. So the oversight committee, which is one of the most important committees in the House of Representatives. It's a very powerful position to have when committees assignments are going out. A lot of people want to be put on the oversight committee. They just had a hearing on white supremacy, and congresswoman Nancy mace asked witnesses if extremist rhetoric on social media is a threat to democracy. Now one of the people testifying and it's a democratic test fire because the Republicans can bring people the Democrats can bring people to answer questions. They're supposed to be experts and stuff, but you can also call bureaucrats like Doctor Fauci to answer questions and be held accountable. But this one, Alejandro carabello, is a trans activist that's brought by the Democrats to testify on white supremacy. And Nancy mace has some very interesting questions for this person. And so I wanted to play this video because a lot's going on Capitol Hill. I don't like to talk about usual politics and stuff, but this is really interesting and it's kind of the fundamentals of our society, I would say, because we're seeing people say that just us communicating our conservative values is hate speech or violence or whatever, it's a threat to the future of the country and in reality we're the ones saying we just want individual freedom. We want to protect what this constitution started this country out for a solid foundation. We want to protect everything that it stands for. We want to keep this country going. "I have three takeaways and I want to get your thoughts on each one My first takeaway from last night The power of the Trump endorsements profound He doesn't win them all I mean nobody does It's not be ridiculous Nobody's going to win The way the radio endorsements people No one's going to win them all But he's percentage is ridiculously high But there are a lot of candidates who don't get his endorsement Kemp last night Nancy mace congresswoman who I'm candidly not a huge fan of It's not personal It's just their politics She seems like a very nice lady But that was not the Trump chosen candidate Katie Harrington down there And Nancy mace one And I think the lesson your thoughts on this is that you can run this kind of a non Trump candidate but you can't run against them Once you run against them like Tom rice did in South Carolina this whole Trump sucks thing That's it It's over Johnny Yeah I completely agree And Trump is the ultra maga kingmaker and his endorsements are incredibly solid And when you look at what happened in Pennsylvania with Doug master and I was leading by 20 points and then ended up with close to 45% of the vote in Pennsylvania when the establishment GOP was trying to coalesce against him at the last minute And that's just not going to happen And so I agree with you that president Trump is very strategic in his endorsements and there are reasons that he's not endorsing people like Kemp who of course he rightly hates for what's gone on in Georgia But so he's being strategic about them but the ones that he doesn't endorse that ultimately do win I think are for reasons beyond just his endorsement And that's not a takeaway that you can run against Trump and be successful

What makes you really angry of. What's going on. Is i heard it was the border and the things that are going on under border the border. It certainly is top of mind for me. I i was at the border back in august. Senator ted cruz and congressman chip roy and and seeing what was happening down there and then you fast forward to today. You see del. Rio and tens of thousands of people trying to come across the border and i was in a hearing on an oversight last week when all of a sudden we get a letter We heard from secretary. Monarchy was asking the border patrol you know. Can we handle at four hundred thousand apprehensions in the month of october. We just had to over two hundred thousand in august and other. I'm guessing joyner k. And and september. Can we handle that in the next thirty days and and deceive that you know. They want to talk about covert and mandates and vaccinations and mass. And all this stuff. But they're letting always people come across our border they're carrying cove it right that That are not vaccinate up the forty percent of them not to mention for every person that comes across the border. They've paid five to eight thousand dollars per person to the drug cartels. We are funding The drug epidemic in this country by allowing our border to continue to be opened the way that it is today. And you know you hear stories from the vitamin ministration and vice-president and what they are and are not doing and half the time it's just complete. I mean one of the things that great things that former president trump did was a tax cuts and jobs back right when we saw taxes be reduced both or corporations small businesses and individuals in the middle class and the working class. Wages went up. Valerie's if it's the opportunity for jobs and employment went up with the lowest unemployment rate for every classification of human being on earth. That you could imagine when that happened and We've got to be the party of solutions going into the midterm cycle. We've got to say we're going to cut taxes again after the democrats raise into the spending package But also we've got to get serious about spending. We're we're having this debate. I'm going to dc and two days on tuesday to vote on the debt ceiling because of the massive spending that democrats want to do. But i don't wanna make any mistake here the debt ceiling and the spending issues. We've had over the last thirty forty. Fifty years of the problem is the problem that has started by both parties One of the reasons that were in this today because both have been out of control of spending and republicans haven't been serious about it and so. What are the solutions that were going to offer. We're going to the free spending or we're going to cut spending or we continue to do what we've always done which is put us in these situations where we are giving away our kid's futures and mortgaging them with more debt and more deficits year after year. No one questions that so is Nancy Mace, who was a great guest and all she was basically saying is the media who fawned all over AOC. After she made the Capitol Hill protest about her a moment where five people died. AOC didn't our on instagram and did her, you know, usual rendition of a O Me. Me. Me. Me? I have people in my family have been sexually assaulted. It's something I take very seriously, but what she's trying to do. Nancy Mace is say that Nancy Mace, who she herself is a sexual assault survivor, has no empathy for survivors. She doesn't know what it's like to be one of them, and she's saying that Nancy Mace. Is attacking the very police who protected them at the Capitol that day. By calling into question a OSI's account of events. She just said that she's saying that on Twitter right now, you calling into my account of what went on in the capital is an attack on the people who protected us this from the woman who attacked the people who protected them like that.
